Purchased home in Lathrop in 2015. Discovered eventually that they had installed plumbing and electrical into the house using the WRONG elevation drawing and original building inspection approval was denied due to this. Corner shelf in master shower fell off. Discovered it was not installed correctly, review and claim denied by Woodside Homes. Exterior stucco fell off in several locations, same response by email, not even courtesy of a phone call. Issues with landscaping and irrigation system prior to moving in but finally got that settled after several meetings with Woodside Homes VP.

3 and a half years of trying to get our 9-page "new home punch list" even halfway completed is unconscionable. By the time we submitted the one year punch list we had 11 pages of work to be done. The outside of our home had stucco repairs done early on (one year mark) which was left unpainted for TWO YEARS. We still have problems with uneven floors, cracked tiles, unsatisfactorily painted interior, squeaky and uneven upstairs flooring and much more.

Horrible customers service to repair issues they left behind from construction. 2 years later my microwave is still not properly installed and it's still missing parts! They do not answer their phone. They simply let it go to voice mail and do not call back. The representatives are constantly being fired like it's a revolving door. I have had to repair or finish work they did incorrectly or simply would even pass code! (Bad electrical work.)
Their motto after sales is deny deny I think and I'm pretty sure 90% of just our community alone has problems still! I had to fix my own garbage disposal external drain port because the plumber left the dishwasher plug in it and it flooded my kitchen right when I moved in. Put in a ticket and no one has ever responded back! Don't walk away from Woodside but run away! And should you buy from Woodside, get everything in writing. I have email trails and messages saved but they still tell me in writing or it's null and void what the previous rep agreed to.

Very frustrated... Bought and built a home with Woodside Homes in Prescott AZ. Let me start off by saying this was supposed to be their flagship development in the area. The home was priced over 1 Million dollars. Wow, what a disappointment. From the finishes or lack of to the missing materials such as ceiling fans, Vent hoods, Holes in the granite for accessories. It's been 60 days since we took ownership and we were promised that everything would get fixed. We were so disappointed we hired a private certified home inspector.
He found over 37 pages of issues, From air ducts not connected, to gas lines not hooked up, vents not sloped the wrong way. We even found an attic access drywalled over. Drywall patches not painted, walls not textured or painted, HVAC systems not working properly, the list goes on and on. Sad and frustrating that Woodside doesn't seem interested in making it right.

Purchased and closed on a home about 2-3 weeks ago, which has started building since February/March 2022. Not only was I rushed to close on this property, but the company is dragging their feet to get anything properly done. After the first walkthrough, there were plenty of issues that needed to be addressed. Things were not done until I was basically moving into the house. In fact, I had to be the one to make sure things were getting done. As a consumer, this is not my job.
Not only is there a problem with their perception of priority and time, but the things that were actually worked on were done horrendously. The house looks cheap. It looks nice on the outside, but walking inside, you can tell that things were done without care and that shortcuts were made. They hung up a clearly scuffed, defective cabinet. They left a lot of uncovered holes in the process of installing light fixtures. They claim that they are low on resources for the stone on the outside of my house, however other houses were completed before mine. You can see the glue used to cement the sinks to the table in the bathrooms. There is still no doorbell. They did not wire the fiber cable to my house when it should have been done before I moved in. When contacted about that, it was somehow made my fault for not telling them about this sooner. I wish I did not close on this house. I feel cheated and lied to. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Now I'm stuck with this expensive problem.

We closed on our home 3/16/22. We were waiting for our exterior stone to be completed and when finally done they used left over stone from another home. Our stone doesn’t match and quality of work is poor. I’ve reached out to the Customer Service agent to see if they will come fix it and have not received a response back. The stone on the same style homes in the area and on model home does not look like the stone they installed at our property. Our home was not cheap and we decide to build with WOODSIDE because of the product they showed but the quality of work we received on our home is not the same. We’ve dealt with numerous issues since closing on our home 3/16/22 (i.e. wall not leveled, whistling hood, cabinet face missing, leaking tub, cracks in tub and etc.) which majority have been fixed but still waiting on a few things to come in or get redone but this coming will not acknowledge the poor quality work done on our stone.

While our home shopping and buying process was exciting and fast, our experience as homeowners with Woodside Homes has been very disappointing. Woodside Homes' website speaks of quality and the pride of craftsmanship. However, all we have experienced as homeowners are slew of electrical issues, lack of craftmanship and cheap materials, delays and excuses. It is obvious they can't wait for the 1-year warranty to expire so they can move on and not worry about fixing the issues they created by not building these houses properly. Buyer beware!

We signed on our Woodside home in Mesa, AZ in December 2021. We were so excited, and were repeatedly told by the women in the front office that they and the build team would keep us constantly updated throughout the process. From signing, they said, the home build process would take about 6-8 months. In January, we went in to make our design center selections. After those were sent off, we didn't hear anything for a few weeks and started to get concerned. We drove by our empty lot, and noticed that people who had signed for a lot after us were starting to break ground. Confused and frustrated, we emailed the front office women and were told that one of the women had unexpectedly quit, and she hadn't submitted our paperwork correctly, causing a delay in our groundbreaking. We were irritated, but figured it just a one-time mistake. Well, we were wrong.
We're now closing in on 9 months from signing (today is August 18) with no end date in sight. Our cabinets were supposed to be in over 3 weeks ago, and there's still no timeline for their delivery. Every week, we're told that the cabinets could arrive "any day now" and every time we ask for an update, there's radio silence on the other end. We've been told that we'll receive an update by the end of the week, and still hear nothing by the end of the following week. Updates have been far and few between, and it feels like pulling teeth to even get a half-assed response from their front office or construction lead.
We've been told that the "industry is a mess" right now, but we feel like Woodside is the real mess. Homes that broke ground after us have had their cabinets and flooring installed while our home sits empty. There is no explanation provided, and no attempt to make things right for us while we sit confused and losing hope by the day. I'm full of regret about trusting Woodside to build us a home. We feel misled and wouldn't recommend this experience to anyone.

My partner and I signed off on purchasing a new build back in March 2021, through many Covid related delays, we finally were excited to move into our home in December 2021. That week, we did a walk-through early in the week to call out any repairs that needed to be fixed before our move in date. On the day of our move-in (1 day before xmas) half of the items were still not fixed, replaced or finished correctly and still have many outstanding items. We received our keys a day before Christmas only to be rushed in and have the house with many outstanding items to be completed.
We paid for a brand new house and we're pulling teeth to get items completed correctly one by one. Our garage floor had cracked concrete and it's taken four separate visits to have our garage fixed. Our house was handed to us with it still having dirty cabinets, and putty still visible throughout the house. It's been 6 months and we've asked to have our issues escalated to management and yet to hear back. Completely absurd and would definitely not recommend buying a home through Woodside. They're rushing their jobs and passing on the crappy unfinished jobs to their customer service team. I know many other residents who moved in around the same time encountering the same issues. Awful, awful communication amongst their team as well.

The sales team did a great job, not sure if I was supposed to receive a gift or not from Woodside. After moving in for a few days, some items in the house did not function. I called the site supervisor and he was extremely helpful, tried to repair things himself. After being unsuccessful, he forward my concerns to Woodside's representative and it has been two weeks with no response. Our Woodside realtor can't get a hold of him too. I was patience enough but now it seemed like as long as they get your money, communication stops.

Hello! We apologize for any frustration you're experiencing. Woodside is dedicated to taking care of our homeowner's needs, so this gap in communication is irregular for us. We will provide your feedback to your Customer Care Team for their review and they will reach out.

Buying a home from Woodside Homes was the biggest financial mistake of my life. Woodside Homes not only has the worst quality control and workmanship of any builder or any home I’ve ever been in, they will also provide zero communication and help after they’ve rushed the house to their idea of “completion.” Six months later, and I’m still missing essential items (cabinets that were promised shortly after closing are still undelivered) and have had zero additional work or fixes completed despite the multiple promises, “I’ll get back to you”s, etc etc.
The fact of the matter is, the house you are getting is built poorly throughout the entire process. I wouldn’t be so upset about delays for fixes if it weren’t for the house itself being of such poor construction to begin with, but the quality issues in these builds are undeniable. I have a brother-in-law who works in construction who I had come inspect the work, and he could do nothing but laugh at the low effort, corner-cutting methods utilized. Every contractor I’ve had in the home to do work since moving in has shared a similar sentiment. For Woodside Homes to take such little pride in their work and not back up the big talk that the sales team will feed you throughout the entire process is nothing short of disappointing.
In addition to all these issues, the purchase price you’re quoted at the initial sales meeting will go up by $30-50k by the time you are finally through the waitlist and it’s your time to sign the purchase agreement. The whole process leaves a horrible taste in your mouth, and the overpriced home is not at all worth the poor level of quality put into it.

All these stuff is normal per warranty manager and I have to wait for the cracks to widen up so can patch up and paint them. Per warranty manager the cracks are normal as the house was built fast and build in summer and given references of other houses In the neighborhood. Pathetic experience- Worst, worst and worst home builders.

Initially we were extremely happy with our Woodside Home. Our building process was amazing! Great communication and super helpful getting things corrected. Since living in our home our opinion has changed completely. We are within our first year of living in our home and naturally have repairs that need to be completed. The communication with the woodside representative has been sporadic at best. Trades come to our home and have no idea what they are there to fix and they do not have the correct supplies and because of this need to be rescheduled. The same trades have been scheduled multiple time and either do not show up or cannot make the repair. We are extremely frustrated and disappointed with this part of our process.

To buy a home from these people is a joke. They won't tell you what is available and when you can get the house. It is a game to them. All they will tell you are lies such as "place your name on the waiting list." And when we ask them question that, "Do we need to be qualified for loans," they said, no. We said, "We did get qualified through a lender from your other branch Woodside Homes", they said, "that doesn't matter. They will still need to check your credit again because we don't know when we will have homes for you as there are 300-400 people on waitlist."
"But wait, we can't tell you what is your number on the list. We may contact you if we would like." Sounds like a scam. And one person said they are sold out. The other person said no it is not. They will keep having release coming out and you may be called. With this kind of stupid attitude I for sure won't be giving my money to these thugs.

Hello Angel,
Could you please send us a private message with the name of the community you're referring to? Many of our communities are in very high demand, but with delays that are often out of our control, we're only able to open a new phase once in a while with each phase only offering a few homes. We try to convey that our interest list is a first-come-first-served setup rather than a waitlist, so we understand how you may be frustrated if that wasn't clear. We apologize in that case.

Updated on 05/29/2021: Again this morning, despite being assured by Woodside homes, their contracted team literally couple arms length from my bedroom BLASTING their music without a care or concern for live in residents?!? Again contacted Woodside corporate through email and vm left X 2, still ZERO concern for the homebuyers. Have developed tinnitus and ocular migraine headaches since exposure to ongoing construction and Woodside employees noise/music.
I messaged Vincent and Doug that I had no choice but to walk onto construction site behind my home to stop the insanity of BLARING MUSIC. They did not care nor respond to my sms. Their employee denied being told that playing music was prohibited on site and unaware of policy that Woodside has REPEATEDLY told me was known to all trades. After half an hour another set of Woodside construction employees AGAIN stated PLAYING MUSIC full BLAST. I then messaged Woodside team, again no response nor care or concern for residents, and had to go back to request music be shut off due to the OBVIOUS. WOODSIDE is not to be TRUSTED, they do not have any concern for the consumer, just the $$$$. Reports have been completed to pertinent entities, awaiting investigation.
Original Review: Upon moving into my home, immediately noticed garage was not working nor the heat. This after Woodside homes had done their checkpoint inspections. I had to have the heat/ac company come out (during the pandemic) 3 times to fix the wrongfully installed system. Was blocked out of my garage for 2 weeks until installer was able to come out to fix new garage door opener. Among other still to be repaired issues that have not been addressed by Woodside.
What has been the most pressing issue if the ongoing noise levels with their ongoing construction, with subcontractors ALLOWED to play their ongoing blaring Spanish music disrupting working from home and residential living. Woodside corporate has been made fully aware of this issue and has done almost nothing to stop this intolerable intrusion on our day to day living. I have even requested I be supplied with hearing protection, to no avail. I have developed tinnitus and ocular migraine headaches due to Woodside violations. After 7 months of ZERO resolution, I am escalating this ongoing issue to my attorney. DO NOT BUY A WOODSIDE HOME, they do NOT care about you, only their bottom line$$$$.

My husband and I are literally 14 days into this transaction and have had the worst customer service with one of the associates. When asking for clarification on our contract agreement we were met with a hostile and very rude email response. I will never buy a Woodside Homes home again and regret ever building with them. They say, “BETTER BY DESIGN” because they are clearly not better by quality. I am afraid their lack of quality work will impact the value and resale of my home. Before I moved in, there were several things I was told that would be “fixed” by the time I moved in. Even the day I moved in, I was told everything had been fixed when in fact they were not fixed and to this day are not fixed (8 months later). I was told to wait until month 11 before I start putting anything in for the home warranty and thank goodness I didn’t wait.
The lack of quality in almost all of the finish work is astounding and everything I’ve called to have fixed has not been fixed right. I have had painters (Wasatch Mountain Painting) to my house three times now and each and every time the show up they have no clue about the work they are supposed to do despite their boss even coming to look at the work prior to them coming back. They actually had to leave one time because they did not have time to fix what needed to be fixed and before they left they added more blue tape to my walls marking things that needed to be fixed.
You can see every horrible patch job the painters have done, their way of fixing something is to literally glob a bunch of paint on it, they used drywall putty to fix horribly chipped door casing and then used a heavy nap to paint it making it blatantly obvious where they painted, they missed painting places they patched, hand marking on doors from when it was touched when the paint was wet, a lot of the caulking has pulled away from the walls and trim, there is no caulking around my tub and shower surrounds, you can see the writing on the baseboards through the one coat of paint they did, some of the trim wasn’t completely painted, everything I put on a shelf that was painted stuck leaving marks (including on top of the fireplace) and they are literally running through my house hurrying as fast as they can.
The texture on the walls have circular tool patterns all over, the measurement of one of the walls is written on it, there are other marks all over the walls from things running across it, there are lines all over from dry pieces of drywall mud being dragged across the wall and there are tiny bubbles all over the walls and ceilings. The trim at the bottom of the stairs was cut very jagged and the trim in the bonus room isn’t anywhere near strait and has a good sized gap between the carpet and the trim.
The kitchen island has caulking all over the trim, the side panels near the granite was chipped all up, the panel was cracked, there is damage to one of the doors for under the sink that was just painted over and a nail went through one of the rim pieces. There was a crack on the face pieces under my cooktop and that was properly fixed, along with placing trim to cover the chipped panels.
The vent hood is scratched and is not straight. I’ve tried to get it straight and I am unable to get it to stay straight. There was a ton of freezing cold air coming from the gaps of my kitchen cabinets that I had to try and fill to stop it. There is bump in the flooring front of the kitchen sink that bends the flooring when I walk on it and someone cut something on the flooring near the sliding glass door leaving blade marks on the flooring.
The sliding glass door trim was quite damaged and I was told I need to deal with it because replacing it would not be easy. I was then shown how to scrape the damaged areas with a blade to reduce the visibility. The doors had to be adjusted and still need to be adjusted because it is not sealing right and a considerable amount of cold air comes through. The screen doors also do not lineup and won’t lock.
The carpet is the hardest carpet I have ever walked on and I often wonder if there is even any padding underneath. When the carpet was installed they cut the door casings with their blades multiple times. Those were just painted over to fix. There is piece of carpet at the bedroom door threshold there is about two inches wide that is very obvious and looks ridiculous. I have also stepped on multiple nails on the stairs and thresholds. There is a considerable puddle in my garage when it rains or snows.
The rain gutters are unbelievably loud when it rains. They have placed a huge cold air return in the master bedroom where every single time the A/C or furnace turns on, it sucks the filter up (making noise) and then drops the filter (making a louder noise) when it turns off. I have been startled awake more times than I care to because of this.
My bedroom door does not secure shut, so when I have my bedroom window open the door constantly bangs. I’ve had to shove a sock in the door to stop it when I have my windows open. My toilets are constantly being clogged, which has never happened in any of my other homes I have owned in my 41 years. My shower trim was scratched and that was replaced. The master bath mirror was scratched and that was replaced. There are handprints on the walls all over the house. One of the hand railings was the wrong color but was replaced months later.
You can see where every nail is on the exterior trim. Some of the nails are not flush with the trim and stick out. Whatever they used to conceal nail holes is slopped on and in no way conceals any of the nails. The caulking was half assed, barely covering the area needed to be caulked and other areas were just missed. There is also cement splashed on the exterior near the garage. Finally, the home warranty supervisor came to see everything for herself and it has been weeks since I have heard anything back.
During the time of my final walk through I was unable to spend the time to really inspect my home due to work and had to heavily rely on Woodside Homes to assure quality work had been done. Clearly I was mistaken to trust Woodside Homes to insure quality work. I have been completely disappointed in my entire experience with Woodside Homes and now I can’t even enjoy my home because of everything wrong with it. I am not new to building a home and never had near the issues that I have had with my Woodside Home. I am left feeling terrified of the issues I can’t see and that I have completely wasted my money on this home. I do not expect perfection, however for just under $500,000 I do expect quality and some kind of quality control.

At the time when I was purchasing a home, a realtor reached out to us and told us that she had worked with Woodside Homes in the times past, and that they were really great. So, we went to Bluffdale to check it out and really fell in love with not only the location, but also the sales staff that was there and how they built their homes.
We ended up going with a townhome option in Bluffdale on the Day Ranch area, and the build was known as the Washington. We like the space the most. It was really nice. We have four floors with the basement. It was just really nice having kind of an elevated space. It fits, at the time, our family needs really well. It was great. Other huge things that we liked as well were the lights, the color choices, and things along those lines that allowed us to build a more modern looking home, which is both a style that we liked.
Their staff is great. The people that they have employed there to help with answering questions and showing different builds and models, not only were really knowledgeable about the area and kind of expectations on timelines, but they were extremely friendly. They were always willing to accommodate our requests to come look a second or a third time before we made a final decision, which was really great. It made it feel like there wasn't a lot of pressure, but at the same time, they were definitely interested in our business.

Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate it. Congrats on the new home! Sounds like you found exactly what you were looking for. That's awesome. We're so happy you enjoyed working with us on your new home build.

My wife and I found a house through Utah Real Estate and it was the first house that we looked at. The rep who helped during the purchase was great. From application to underwriting, that took about a month because we were in the process of getting approved. We then had a quick move-in. Quality-wise, there's a lot of key things where the subcontractors cut corners on that I found annoying. I'm working with the warranty specialists to get it fixed.
We have some major flooring heating issues that we're working on. There are odds-and-ends that don't make sense. For example, Woodside definitely needs to meet with the engineers. In all their buildings, they need to all have their main water line in the same spot. I've checked multiple houses. Stonehaven is particularly what we live in. All their water mains’ shutoffs are in all different spots in the house. We had a water softener installed yesterday. We couldn't even hook to our cold water because our main valve was in our kitchen and our water heater was upstairs. My main thing is just the consistency of building and using common sense on where to put stuff.
The warranty specialist has been really great, intentive, and has come to our needs. I wanted access to plans and to be able to have an idea. When we bought this place, we never got a firm confirmation on the square-footage of the upstairs and downstairs and how much carpet. We didn't get any of the details on what materials were in the house itself. The biggest thing that my wife and I recently talked about is quick move-in. A few things were added but when we moved in, those things were not put in. I was a little disappointed. I asked Woodside if we could transfer that over into something else but they said they couldn't do that. I told them that I don't know where that 8 grand plus of upgrades actually went to. First-time homes are not going to be perfect. but there should be knowledge of everything being in a central location and being able to access it.

Great feedback, Ben! Thank you for this. Our division will be made aware of it so they can consider it for future construction. We're glad your Customer Care Team is on the job to help you fix the little issues you've come across. We hope you're finding joy in your new home despite these few things.

I chose the area and the location of where Woodside Homes was at. I like the community. It's gated and it's pretty quiet. I also like the customer service that I get from Woodside. Since it's a new home, we're still under warranty. They listen and they get someone out to fix whatever we have. We call them or make an appointment in the online portal. When we go through the portal, they get back to us within 24 hours, then they find out what the problem is, and they schedule to get someone out to come and fix it. So, the experience has been great. As far as the other three homes that I've bought from builders, this has been the most responsive. I would definitely recommend them to anyone else.

This is wonderful, William! It makes us so happy to know that we've been able to help you out quickly and thoroughly. Thank you for your kind words. Here's to many happy years in your new home!

I like the floor plan of the Woodside homes. It met the needs that we needed. I wish that they wouldn't have locked me into what I wanted on the outside before I could go look at what I wanted on the inside. I would have changed some things. I wouldn't have done the tandem windows. I probably wouldn't have done the nine-foot ceilings because I would have rather put the money into a little nicer things inside the home. Once you were done with the outside, you couldn't go back and change it without spending a lot more money. That was kind of a mistake. They should let us look at the whole thing first, and then I would have done things differently if I could. Other than that, our home consultant did okay. We liked him. The customer service team could answer all my questions. Overall, it was a good experience. But I would tell others to be very careful about what they get for the outside of the home before they knew what they were going to get on the inside.

This is fantastic feedback! Thank you for this. It will be provided to our sales leadership. We're glad you're happy with your home overall. Here's to many happy years there, Colleen!

Woodside's model homes were presented a lot nicer than the ones that I've been to. I like the master bedroom, the master bath, and the pantry in my home. Everybody at Woodside was really nice and helpful. If I could, I would do it again.

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed your Woodside experience. That's very important to us. Congrats on the new home!

We purchased the Canyon model from Woodside Homes. We like the capability of it being five bedrooms and three bathrooms. In the initial sales process, the rep could have slowed down just a little bit because I probably would have chosen the bigger model. Once you put your decisions in, even though they haven't started building, you can't go back and change it. I paid additional money to convert a den into another bedroom and bathroom, where for that same price, I could have gotten the bigger model that already had the five bedrooms, plus it would have had a loft space. So, it would have made more sense for me to get the bigger model. But when I was going through the process, we just did it so quickly and then I thought about it afterwards. It was silly.

Thank you so much for your feedback! It's very important to us and will be provided to our sales leadership so they can consider changing their processes if needed. We truly hope you're enjoying your new home regardless of this. All the best!

The models that we saw were the best ones that we actually like. Everything we wanted for our house fit in the model that we bought. I like its open space. The customer service team was really helpful, super friendly, and on top of everything. They took care of everything we needed and directed us to the right direction to make that happen. The contractor was really knowledgeable. He knew everything about the home. Any question we had, he would answer right away. We were really satisfied. We already recommended a couple of friends to Woodside, and they're looking into it. Woodside is really smart, and the homes are built nice and legit, the way they're supposed to be. We were really satisfied.

Wow! Such a great review! Thanks, Victor. We're so happy you've enjoyed your experience with Woodside. Thanks for choosing to take your new home journey with us. All the best.

We were looking for a used home because we thought that a new home would be out of the options and out of our budget. But we stumbled upon Woodside. We fell in love with the house and it was affordable. We jumped on it. The salesman, James, was awesome throughout the whole home-buying process. And we haven't had many issues as far as craftsmanship. There were little things here and there but they were handled correctly. We're happy with the customer service aspect. It's worth it to buy a new home from Woodside. It was an easy experience and I would recommend it to a friend.

Thank you for the kind words! We're glad we could surprise you with the affordability and options that a new home could offer. Here's to many happy years in your new home!
