I have a 2002 model year. Factory did NOT install house wrap WBR under the vinyl siding which is stated in bold in the installation instructions. When home was delivered I questioned it and the factory in Ocala Fl told me HUD does not require it. Well 24 years later i have high levels of humidity that may require all exterior walls opened inspected for mold and al exterior wall drywall replaced. Total loss and Skyline has not returned any messages. THis started as a result of failing to follow the installation instructions of the vinyl siding. There is a class action lawsuit in California for this same issue.

Of the 24 homes in our park, only two are Skyline Homes. Both of these have had problems with the roofs - both units are only five years old. The overall quality of these homes is extremely poor.

Ordered our home from Village Homes (now J& B Manufactured Homes) in Pine City MN in August 2021. Delivered in July 2022 and totaled during delivery. We now have a scrap title per the State of MN. The company did not carry enough insurance to cover our cost of the home. The factory pointed the finger at the dealer and the dealer blamed it on the factory. I tried for nearly a year to either get another home or get our money refunded. They would not budge so I went to the Dept of Labor and Industry in MN who sent out 2 inspectors and they told us not to spend another cent on it as it is total.

The factory nor the dealer still refused to do anything. Then I had to hired an attorney. That got their attention, Breach of Contract. We got 2/3s of the money we had in it and the frame is so bent, the house cannot be moved. The furnace quit the very first winter, just a junk furnace and the warranty was impossible to do anything. All of the plumbing froze, bill for furnace and plumbing was over $4000.00, first year. Roof leaked, doors leaked, windows leaked and mold started to grow. Siding was falling off and not properly installed, new roof and new siding was $28,000.

After 4 years, the window seals are all breaking and fogging is starting. Warranted for 5 years by the window manufacturer. I contacted last year but their website site is not friendly with my IPhone. I just bought a new computer and will try again because now more windows are fogging. Some won’t open and some open but fall back down. So much for fire escape. HUD certified is a joke. Appliances are all junk and don’t work properly. The factory construction is horrible. I think the wood work is made from sawdust and glue and the cabinet hinges are breaking one a week. The wood burning fireplace blower, a different manufacturer warranty, has never worked. You guess the part and they will mail it to you several months later. This is a double wide so half of it was twisted and half was not, doesn’t matter, both halves are trash. Stay away from Skyline and J & B Manufactured/Mobile Homes.

I cannot say enough bad thing about Skyline Homes. They completely ripped off my mother. They use the absolute cheapest materials. You have to pay to upgrade literally everything and then they still use the absolute cheapest materials and hardware for appliances. They quote you a price then add nearly 8-10k in inflation insurance which they end up keeping. My mother’s home is 3 years old and completely falling apart. The home shakes when you are just walking to the kitchen. Biggest mistake we ever made.

I purchased my home in 2019, I am the first owner. I have had nothing but problems. My master bathroom has now showing signs of water leaking through the walls in the ceiling. It's not coming from the roof, it appears it's in the walls. I was unaware of an extended warranty and this is not warranty. I think it is shameful that the warranty is only for 15 months and then you have to purchase an extended warranty. I had to already replace my dishwasher. When I replaced my dishwasher I was informed that I needed one of those spill over on the sink and they connected the dishwasher to the electrical. I had to pay extra for the dishwasher to be installed. They had to put an electrical outlet where the dishwasher was installed and I had to add the spill over on the sink.

I moved into my brand new "nightmare" in June 2023. We have had nothing but problems with it. The floors were paper thin and had nails coming up from day one, the "marriage line" in the hallway by the front door was left completely unfinished, the ensuite bathroom frame had a gouged out area near the top of the door. One window in the living room has a large sawed through area, there is a 1/8 inch gap between the window and the casement. I have had to put plastic on my windows in the winter, even the first year. None of the interior doors close properly, they either stick or close on their own. There are significant cracks in the walls after 1 years. After complaining for 6 months, finally sent someone out to "fix" the problems, they fixed the gouge in the bathroom, the casement in the front room window and attempted to fix the cracks. The cracks are back after a little over a year worse than ever. Nothing else was ever fixed.

The management of the park I live in put the house together. They are not construction people. Now 2 1/2 years later the water heater failed without our knowledge. The entire South side of my has been ripped apart. I have no kitchen sink, 1 bathroom and no cabinets. Supposedly the water heater was new with the house. Now we find out not only will Rheem not cover the warranty, Skyline put a used water heater in our home. This place is a disaster and earns the title "the nightmare". I hate this house and wish with all my heart I could move out of it. I spent my entire savings for this dump and now I'm stuck. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BRAND NAME, THEY ARE ALSO KNOWN AS CHAMPION.

I received my mobile home in Spring 2022. All in all I am happy with it. I had some fairly minor issues such as the wrong kitchen faucet, the wrong shelving/cupboards above the washer and dryer, one outdoor outlet without wiring, Some caulk was missing around the bathroom sink and other minor cosmetic issues that had me questioning their quality control. They took care of all of this. I have a puncture on the shower wall that looks like it happened from the outside before it was installed. They have never repaired that.

I have saved all pictures and emails showing they were notified. They pushed it off to the shower insert manufacturer. They have never called. I hope I don't have a problem with water leaking between the wall and the shower. The level of concern, on Skyline's part, was zero. In Dec of 2022 I noticed one of my kitchen cupboards was separating. They refused to repair this because it was past the 30 day warranty. This is a workmanship issue. I was left with a concern that if I see the sloppy work done, can you imagine what I cannot see??? Worrisome. Advice would be to look very very closely at everything because if you do not notice it within 30 days, you are on your own.

Unable to find replacements. We have 9 of them in our kitchen dining area. What am I suppose to do? Tear up my whole ceiling? I find this very poor workmanship. We bought a Skyline home after our house burned down in the wildfires in Oregon in September, 2020. Everything was fine until we had to go over our punch list items. We were referred to Danny the service manager. Numerous emails were sent regarding issues with our new home. Danny would not respond or would tell me they were working on it. He would not take responsibility for a paint mix-up and blamed it on our contractor. They finally agreed to pay for half of the cost of repainting the whole interior of the house. It took months before we got the paperwork that we needed to send back to them in order for them to pay their half. Our kitchen backsplash was a mess also. After yet again more emails they finally took care of it too. I asked if they needed to come take measurements, Danny said no.

When the workers came to fix it, they didn't have the right size backsplash so they had to come back again. I ended up having to file a complaint with the BBB in order to get things resolved. Many people have asked me where I got our house from, I tell them they definitely need to take their business somewhere besides Skyline. It's honestly not worth the hassle and the headache.

We had to pay to have our ceiling sheetrock redone, when doing the ceiling it was discovered they glued the sheet rock, didn't use tape and just found out the rafters are made with 2"x2" boards not 2"x4". Along the top of the walls they use caulking instead of doing it right. I would never recommend this company to anyone, and I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this time I had to.

We have a serious problem with one of their manufactured homes: Serial Number **. Manufactured 01/21/2008. Someone didn't hook up the Master Bathroom sink(s) to the sewer system when the home was installed 01/21/2008. The water waste has been draining underneath the house for the past 12 years. That has created a serious sinkhole under the house - right underneath the footing/foundation. This sinkhole was just found two weeks ago - when I called a plumber about a leak under the house (another faulty problem with this house - they used CPVC pipes that have all disintegrated and they all leak at the joints and the valves).

While the plumbers were under the house - they found the missing drainpipes - and they found the sinkhole. I have photos I would like to share with you. The hole is about 30" long, and over 20" deep - and it is right below the foundation/footer of my home. I have paid $880 to the plumbers for the first visit - to repair leaks under the house and to install a pipe from the master bathroom sink(s) to the sewer pipe. I had to have other repairs done inside the house - to repair leaks inside the house for an additional $1200. I have a quote for the repair of the SINKHOLE under the Foundation for $2500. I have a quote for $4500 to replace all of the faulty CPVC pipe in the house. This totals close to $10,000 for all necessary repairs - for the missing plumbing causing the SINKHOLE - and to replace all of the faulty water pipes throughout the house. My house could crumble at any moment!!!

Prior to delivery I discovered that the wrong interior doors had been installed. When I notified the manager he informed me that they didn't have any of the correct doors specified in contract. So I recommended that he go to Lowe's or Home Depot and pick them up. After fetching the doors he notifies me that the factory would not replace the doors. So I told him to send the doors with the house and I would get them installed. I hired a contractor to install and paint the doors. Skyline does not install the carpets so I had to hire a contractor to do it and Skyline refuses to reimburse the $750 expense!

Skyline included estimated transport cost of about $5,000 but the transport cost &10,000! When the house arrived there was a pile of appliance manuals but the one for the furnace was missing. After about a year I wondered if they may have placed it inside the furnace. It was there alright lying on the filter blocking 106 sq in of filter area. So I had been using the furnace for a year with about 2/3 of the air intake area! I wondered why it didn't seem to work very well! There are many examples of very poor workmanship and the fixtures are the cheapest that they could find. The kitchen faucet already needs replacing!

In 2004 we were in the market for a new manufactured home to replace an existing home we had. We visited several manufactured home places and finally settled on Skyline Homes as they seemed to be the best manufacturer. We customized our home to be built with upgrades that we felt were necessary for longevity and comfort of our home.

After the home was built, delivered and set up we noticed several things we weren't satisfied with. Wood frames in cabinets were split with tons of staples to hold them together. Photo Finish type cabinets were built cheap, and wearing only after a few years. We know that manufactured homes are more cheaply built compared to stick built homes. The problem is longevity. We have lived in our home for 15 years. So far we have replaced most appliances, toilets (because they are not protected all the way up to and under the rim), rust on any metal screws, nails, etc.

The reason for my review today is our roof. We spent more and had our roof upgraded. It was warrantied for 30 years, and we are on 15 years now. Warranties are limited for a reason and a person cannot rely on something that states 30 years! We noticed a leak in a bedroom and had a roofer come out. Skyline, and probably other manufactures, use the cheapest and lightest materials they can get away with. Something was not put together correctly at the ridgeline on our home and it has had a slow leak for a long time (according to the inspection of the roof). Our entire roof, including the overlay to protect from moisture, and the sheeting is ruined. The moisture barrier paper they use is the thinnest and cheapest they can get. Two roofers told us they have not ever seen this used on roofs. The other roofer told us, yes, this is what some use and it does not last.

From carpet, to cabinets and from appliances to roofs, a Skyline Manufactured home is probably not the best buy to avoid costly repairs along the way. I would not recommend a Skyline Home. I have contacted Skyline Homes and the dealer we bought it from. So far they cannot even find records of us buying this home, therefore will not help us. Also, buyer beware, your Homeowners Insurance will not cover things such as our roof. They do not cover manufacturer defects at all.

We bought a 2018 Skyline manufactured home (Pine Model) last year. My husband has worked in stick-built construction and said that since manufactured homes are built inside in a controlled environment, they would be better quality than stick-built homes built in varied weather conditions. Since the options are limited, manufactured homes allow for economy of scale which is passed on to the consumer; thus the price of those options is more affordable.

We felt there were plenty of structural options (adding 2-4' in length, extra storage room behind the garage, extra windows) & surface options (paint, flooring, fixtures). We're very happy with the options we choose. The quality and finishing touches give it an upscale appearance. 2 options which we'd ordered but were not installed were installed within 7 days. We've had our 45-day walk-through & all our problems have been fixed. Our home is in a 55+ community of Skyline and other manufactured homes & the community has been excellent about attending to repairs locally if possible & crews from Skyline come up regularly to take care of other repairs and warranty items. We could not be happier with our Skyline home!

I'm just renting a manufactured home made by my Skyline. Thank God. We were given a quick warning before signing the lease that formaldehyde was in the glue used to build it, but of course they played it down. Said it would only last for around 6 months, only be a problem on hot days, and to just open a window if there were any symptoms. It's been over a year, and it's a problem all year round. I can't really open the windows in the winter when the heat is on. I'm going to court about this because I can't deal with the symptoms.

I seem to be more sensitive than the rest of my family, but I have 3 kids being put at risk. How could they sell these to families? Not only that but the materials used to build this home are very low quality. Nothing is real wood and it's peeling everywhere. The laminate floors aren't tacked down so they bubble up when the furnace is on. None of the doors close right. And the nails used to hold down the carpet are sticking out around the entire perimeter of the floor. Absolute junk that won't last more than a few decades. And the price of this single wide is just about enough for a small house that will last.

I purchased a 29’ 2012 Nomad Joey Select trailer from Woody's RV in Sherwood Park Alberta. You can see daylight in many areas around the wheel well and bathroom sink so mice are an endless issue. Rain is constantly penetrating and because it’s made of particle board, it disintegrated anywhere or anytime water would get through.

When venting to was installed, the sawdust wasn’t cleaned out which they did under warranty. There’s evidence that when they ran the sink plumbing they used some type of pointed hammer to make a hole through the particle board divider. The biggest safety issue is the under-rated axles and cheap wheel bearings. The axle rating only covers the trailer empty and both axles show signs of distress. And the bearings needed to be changed after 3200km. I know this number because they failed on a cross country trip. This trailer cost me $25,000. I would strongly recommend doing research on how a quality trailer is build or it will only be stress on wheels. This trailer will not survive 10 years.

We've got water dripping out from under our light switch plates on both the front wall and the back, window sills have separated from the window frames, our sink has been "fixed" four times and is still leaking, front (living room) wall and back (living room) wall are wet in various places, with the carpet getting wet just underneath, every time it rains. There is black mold growing along the carpet where it meets the front living room wall, the carpet has separated from the metal stripping, even after being repaired three times.

My built in microwave constantly has so much condensation inside it that I can't even plug it in, some of our light fixtures continuously blow out (even with brand new bulbs), front and back doors don't fit properly and our master bathroom door doesn't even close all the way. Buyer beware, you DO NOT get what is promised when touring a showroom. Our experience was so frustrating, we demanded to talk to someone in Corporate to get proper resolution, but that never happened. Buyer remorse for sure. Pic 1 is cupboard face that was supposed to be replace and wasn't. Pic 2 is newly discovered water damage in window ledge. Pic 3 is what is happening to the fronts of the kitchen cupboards. This is just a SMALL sample of the many things that have happened and continue to happen. Again, BUYER BEWARE.

After 7 years our ceilings crack as soon as cold weather sets in. Walls also crack. This has been an ongoing problem since the day we moved into our home. They have no answer why this is happening. Very frustrating. They come every winter to fix. Only til next winter the same thing over and over as soon as the weather gets cold. Think I have a beautiful home but wow the cheapness of just about everything in it is very depressing!

We are first time owners of a mobile home 60ft by 14ft. Very nice looking home. After purchasing and doing a more detailed inspection of our new home we found it to be very dusty so I started looking in various areas like into ducks under sinks where registers were located for heat distribution. All areas for this were very dirty with much sawdust where holes cut for ducking also much more debris around the furnace which was not easy to get at to clean. Carpeting throughout I could feel leftover scraps of I don't know what it was under the carpet probably saw dust and other construction debris.

Overall I should done more in-depth inspection so for anyone purchasing a new mobile they an alternative way to live but hire an inspector to do a thorough inspection of the base set up where it is located and read and understand the speck booklet that comes with your new home and make sure they follow it to the T. Good luck. Really do your homework when you purchase this product.

Purchase of a new 16 wide from Skyline in McMinnville, OR - I am a sales person that until a month ago sold Skyline Homes. Unfortunately I also purchased one. The biggest mistake of my life. I've been in the modular home industry for 49 years so I know a little about the homes. Skyline Homes is the worst home I've ever owned. I used to think Fleetwood was bad but they're class A compared to these guys. Their office in McMinnville won't acknowledge the issues or even call me back. We have pictures to back up the awful workmanship in this home with illegal wiring, illegal plumbing, upgrade (so-called) cabinets falling apart. There is not one properly hung receptacle in the whole house and on and on. This is without a doubt the worst factory I've ever had the misfortune to deal with and anyone thinking of dealing with them should run away as fast as they can.

We bought a 2008 mobile home In 2016. We are now living in this mobile home in the year 2017. We found the floor under the master bathroom soft due to a water leak behind the wall. We called Skyline. They came out and repaired our home. Mind you this home was many years out of warranty. We found skyline representative to the be of the upmost and professional and courteous people. We are super seniors and they gave us no fuss and repaired our home at no charge. We would purchase without a doubt another Skyline home.

Our new Skyline home was delivered to our lot in April 2016 but was not ready for occupancy until June. So far, since we have lived here, we have had doors replaced, crooked cabinet shelves straightened, noisy exhaust fans replaced, drawers adjusted, cracks galore mended. The front door was installed 2 inches crooked from top to bottom. The remedy was to remove the trim and adjust how it hung to disguise the flaw. The entire ceiling has waves in it, due, we were told by the repair guy, to an experiment with thinner Sheetrock that had been discontinued (due to there being waves in the ceiling). None of our windows opened easily, repair guy had to remove them and take mechanism apart to correct flaws. The home was missing a water hydrant on the back outside that we paid extra for. It has never been installed. Each time we submitted a repair order it was at least 6 weeks before anyone came out.

With the warranty up this month they are declining to even make the trip for the last items we have submitted for repair. They brought us touch up paint for the exterior that did not MATCH the house. One of our bathroom faucets did not produce water, just air. We had issues with dusty floors, turned out the air ducts had not been cleaned before the grates were installed. Sent Skyline pictures of the dirt in the ducts, they declined to send anyone to look at them or clean them. We hired local people to clean the ducts, Skyline was supposed to reimburse us nearly $400 (bill submitted 4/17) and as of 7/17 no check has been received. We call the factory in California that built it, they refer us to corporate in Indiana who in turn says California is supposed to issue a check. There was a crack in our fiberglass bathtub wall that we also had repaired locally, took 6 months to get paid for that.

These folks have poor or non existent quality control, no communication between departments, do not answer the phone or return calls from voice messages, and have even made rude remarks in email concerning us "getting testy" over not being reimbursed. Oh, and now a side panel on our upgraded kitchen cabinets is coming loose. They said they would have a local cabinet company take care of it. We are not holding our breath. As much as we love our floor plan, we have serious doubts about the quality of construction and workmanship that was put into our home, built in San Jacinto, CA. We realize that compared to the horror stories others have posted here, our problems were minor, but our issues do reflect a trend within Skyline Corporation, nationwide. We would definitely look to another manufacturer if we ever bought another factory built home.

We bought our 2017 Skyline brand new in North Carolina. The quality and workmanship is extremely poor, especially for the price. We have lived in our for 3 months now (April, May & June) and carpet is matted, trim falling off, knobs stripped, floor creaking, doors don't shut properly, drawers installed crooked, cable line split, a/c motors dead, appliances broke, etc. We had a list of almost 200 things and we are still waiting on them. We have given up on them and will either live with it or fix it ourselves. Don't waste your money on this company. You are better off building your own "tiny home".

We bought a Skyline ranch home and are very angry about it. Workmanship is so bad we could not move in for 4 month after delivery. Windows caulked shut, loose siding, shower installed wrong, wrong color roof. Had to pay 2000 dollar extra to get right roof on, we already had paid for the house in full. Ordered all gas. Got all electric. No keys for doors, to get them took an act of god. Fireplace unsafe. Still not fixed. They been coming in the house trying to repair it all. Still now in the 5th month not done. Customer service does not exist!!! Still so many things wrong with it but we had to move in due to having to sell our home in Texas. Were to come out today to repair things. Nobody called. Nobody showed up. DO not buy a home from Skyline is all we can say. It is a total disaster.

I purchased a Skyline Manufactured Home back in 2013 from Harper Homes in Rochester NY. After almost 3 years of living in it I notice that the ceilings are cracking. The carpet is started to separate from the metal stripes that are placed on the ends of the carpet. Also there is a window that won't stay closed. The home that I purchased wasn't cheap. But the quality of this home is poorly made. So I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone that is looking for a manufactured home.

We are a very large senior mobile home park in Hemet, Ca. As a small dealer, we have enjoyed doing business with Skyline for many years, purchasing dozens of new Manufactured Homes for all three of our local parks. Upon delivery of the newest home into Fairview Park, our setup subcontractor was unable to attain a permit to setup the home, thru the housing authority HCD County of Riverside due to the fact that the new home did not have a fire sprinkler system. At which time we were shown the regulation. We then approached Skyline with the request to install the fire system, which was denied. The Park owner/dealer feels Skyline should not be turning out home that does not meet county requirements or regulations. We are willing to pay up to two thousand dollars, and have Skyline install the fire system, in order to save our relationship.

If Skyline will not compromise, Fairview Park will have the fire system installed at our cost and the courts will decide on reimbursement, including court costs. We are willing to compromise because want to buy many more homes from Skyline. And we are hoping that we do not have to use other manufacturers to meet our goals.

Oak Manor 3830-CT (model designation) made in plant 341 This Home constructed on 8/10/05. Our home's construction is very poor, especially the windows and the heating system. The master bathroom drops into the high 40 degree range on most winter nights even when the Thermostat is set for 60 degrees. Our winter temperature easily drop into the 20 and 30 degree range. When the heat turns off the floor supply air registers bring cold air into the home. I've crawled under house and checked the crossover ducts but could find no leaks where the air could get in. This Home was new when we got it but we did not order one or spec this house. This Home was set up by a contractor but was paid for by investors who sold it to us.

When I open the drawers in the master bathroom I can feel the cold air pouring in. All cabinets on outside walls feel very cold in the winter, the master bedroom outside wall is very cold as if there is no insulation in the walls. The double pane glass windows leak profusely even though I've caulked the perimeter of all windows. We must use propane fuel which is expensive to heat such a poorly made Home. The air delivery to the smaller under counter supply air registers in the kitchen and bathrooms is non existent. The inspector who inspected this Home is gone. The local building dept says they can't do anything. The manufacturer won't do anything. The State of California blames the federal housing folks and says they can't do anything. The fabric which holds the insulation under the floor appears intact with no rips or insulation loss that I can see. The space under the roof has cellulose but it's not performing well at all.

My advise to anyone considering a modular purchase is to really investigate how yours will be put together. If you can upgrade the insulation and window quality then do that. But I would advise people not to purchase a modular or mobile Home because of the poor construction quality. You'll have never ending repairs to be made.
