Zillow's salespeople promise you the world and deliver nothing. They just charged me over $600 to set up a "Premier Agent Account," and they completely screwed it up. No leads -- I wonder why? I'm only in one zip code instead of six. I've left a message for the sales manager and have not heard back. I will keep calling until this is resolved or receive a full refund.

Updated on 09/22/2015: I've PROMISED A REFUND IN WRITING by "manager" Cody ** on September 1 of $278.27. He's said it would take 5-7 business days. It's been over three weeks, no refund.

I bought a house for 25000.00. 1280 sq. feet, 2 car garage, good to excellent condition. Zillow posted what I bought it for 25000.00. I had it for sale for 6900.00 for over one year with two offers of 30000.00 in that year. Well I would lose money after property taxes, paying interest, real estate commission, light bills, water bills. The listing expired so I listed it with another realtor. He said because of Zillow I can't sell it that I needed to drop the price again to 57500.00. THIS REALTOR SAID ZILLOW IS THE PROBLEM OF WHY IT WON'T SELL. I searched the internet and couldn't find any other site of what I bought it for. Thanks for the dis service Zillow.

I bought a another foreclosure in Michigan and Zillow didn't post on their site what I paid. And my cousin bought a foreclosure and Zillow didn't post that either. Does this make sense? I have emailed Zillow. It sounded like they were going to take it off the internet with proper documentation which I gave to them. AND NO RESPONSE AS OF YET. I have called them with no call back.

My "zestimate" on zillow has been going down significantly the past few months while adjacent properties no bigger than my house are "zestimated" $100,000 higher. Zillow provided a pat answer when I asked for the reason even though I provided update of $60,000 in improvements on house since purchase date.

Recently a house in town came on market. Same size lot and sq footage, similar in condition and age. Assessed at $60,000 higher than mine with a zestimate of about $130,000 higher and for sale higher than their "zestimate". Where do they come up with these numbers? Estimating my house of similar age, condition, size etc will provide a comp that can affect the sale of homes coming on the market. It seems like people rely on their estimates and their opinion can have a negative affect on sellers. What is up with that?

I have been a Realtor advertiser on Zillow.com for quite some time and was very pleased with my leads. I was contacted by my account rep last week and quoted a great price for 100% exposure in my zip code. I agreed to accept as well as added some more exposures to 2 other zip codes at a great discount because of a special promotion. When the bill was sent it was for a much higher amount than was quoted. After contacting the rep by phone and email it took 3 days to finally connect with her to discuss discrepancies. I was told they have a new billing system and it was her fault but she could not stand by our verbal agreement. I asked why was I even contacted about a special discount if they indeed did not have one. All she could say was it was her fault and she could not stand by the verbal agreement.

After requesting to speak with supervisor she transferred me to his voice mail and he called back. He would not agree to stand by the verbal agreement and stated she made an error and they had a new billing system but would not give me the discount. I requested a manager and he refused to connect me with one. I explained I have been a good customer promoting Zillow to fellow agents and the public but no longer can do this. Shame on Zillow. I feel scammed. Also, they cannot add all my sold properties even though they were advertised for sale they cannot pull the addresses for solds in my area. Therefore my solds are not accurate to the many I have sold. They state they cannot do anything about this.

We very recently listed our home, located at ** with a trusted, local realtor. Because we were looking for a new home in anticipation of selling our place, we checked different sites. My husband had been searching ZILLOW, so we looked frequently for new listings. I was rather surprised to find our home on their site and, at first, thought it must be common for other realtors to share and promote ads. Then, I discovered very soon after that, a SOLD banner across our ad.

I contacted our realtor and ZILLOW. I spoke with Kristen and questioned the use of our ad on their site, along with damaging, inaccurate info. She said that "It's all a matter of public record." Our home was reportedly SOLD in 2013, which is untrue. I also discovered another place where it was listed on their site as SOLD for $12,500. That transaction was actually for the adjoining lot that I purchased. I believe their practices are both misleading and damaging, and being carried out with no authority from neither us nor our acting agent, HORIZON Realty, out of Alma, MI.

For approximately 6 years, Zillow had my address, **, showing up in correct location, but then showed same address across the street. I communicated via email with someone who wasn't much help. They finally removed it from across the street but added another home with my address at my location. Although they were both my homes, there was a substantial difference in price. So in my unsuccessful effort to delete the extra "home," Zillow then listed the house as a studio since I had deleted bedrooms.

Today, I made another effort to delete it showing it as vacant land. That didn't work, so I decided to list correct home facts. Can't seem to delete the entire post so again, I have 2 homes on my lot; same home, but one home is zestimated at $40,000 less. How does this happen? Just shows the unreliability of their "zestimates." I am putting house on market this fall so I am concerned that I have two homes on same lot and one is cheaper than the other, lol.

Completely inaccurate information on the estimate of home's value. They had our house plummeting in value by epic proportions ($46,000) in a week's time for no apparent reason while our neighbors' houses' values all increased in value. This has direct consequences for us as our house is on the market and it makes it look like there is something terribly wrong with it. When I brought it to their attention they told me how I could help correct the problem by adding the "owner's estimate" and explaining how we came up with it which I did. It hasn't changed anything but rather the value is showing as having gone down even more.

If you are a realtor and thinking about advertising with Zillow, please read my review. I have used several other websites to advertise my business as a realtor and capture leads in my zip code area. I have had success with each of them, but always wanting to do better. I agreed a few months ago to advertise with Zillow. I am so disappointed with the lack of services I received. I thought they were one of the top search sites for home buyers so I was willing to pay 3 times more for advertising with them for a short term. After 2 and a half months time I received a total of 5 leads, 4 of which were useless and one buyer looking at below market homes with slim possibility they might get qualify in a year.

After many calls and much discussion with Zillow they said that other agents had more reviews than me, so maybe that's why I was not getting more leads. REALLY? Is that the best they can say and do for the amount of money I pay them monthly. Then, I research to determine that other agents who are not paying any monthly fees are showing up on the same zip code as 'fillers'. CONCLUSION, I have now terminated and will not be doing business with Zillow again.

Vacancies for decent rental properties are at 20 yr low and using Zillow has been very frustrating and waste of time that I don't have. If Zillow is going to list properties for rent that should take the responsibility to keep their info updated as not to waste people's time. Zillow has no right to publish its estimate of value. Their model is incorrect in most cases and hurts the consumer. I see houses regularly appraised well above the Zestimate in some markets and way below in others. This is very unfair to the consumer. There is also never any call backs for service complaints. Zillow also is a poorly run site, many times things don't function correctly. Zillow also states they are for the for sale by owner customer which is a lie. They sell their territories to licensed agents to capitalize in the traffic of the for sale by owner customer. In my opinion Zillow is not what it says and people should boycott this site. It only hurts the real estate market.

The realtor has yet to resolve the issue by taking the time to re-list, and the initial problem came from them canceling their subscription to ListHub.

Zillow is showing my house as "Off Market" when it is for sale, and I have never pulled it off market, even temporarily. I have reduced the price, and checked to see that the reduction was reflected, and they had changed status arbitrarily to "Off Market". I have contacted them twice, and they say they are getting it from a feed. But the MLS feed, as shown by actual realtors' sites, reflects the reduction, not a status change. They say they can't change the status back to "For Sale" till the feed is changed. But they made the decision, on their own, to show it as "Off Market". Incidentally, their partner site Trulia only shows estimate of worth, and does not show market status. So, that decision was Zillow's alone. Their site is INTENTIONALLY providing false information, and causing potential financial harm, despite my objections.

Not only does Zillow have the incorrect price (original) listed, not ANY of the price drops, it also has our original (pre-professional) photos listed, NOT the professional ones we had taken which are much better. Also has incorrect property description. I contacted Zillow and they told me what site it was pulling from (not the MLS--some agentmarketing.com site). Our agent updated the information from the source site as directed. Five days later, nothing.

Zillow blames its information on a source site, yet when source site has been updated as directed by their own customer service people, the information they are pulling (or not) is still incorrect. If a company such as Zillow markets themselves to be the most accurate, biggest home buying site out there, shouldn't they at least pull from somewhere with accurate information? Ridiculous. They do an incredible disservice to home sellers by being so lax in attempting to pull the correct information for homes out there. I have been a Realtor in FL for almost 20 years. I am a third generation Florida Realtor. Specifically, Zillow has totally ignored my multiple requests to correct an error in one of my listings, and the only human I have been able to connect with is a salesman trying to sell a Zillow $300 per month "preferred agent" package.. When I asked him who in his company I could possibly talk to correct, he said "they were on another floor, and he did not know how to reach them".

Very common in rural areas for owners to sell off pieces of property or combine under one address a piece they have bought from a neighbor. Any situation like this seems to create total confusion in Zillow as to what parcel is identified on aerial photo property views... which, when one is a customer for large piece of property, is generally the first thing looked at.

Rural and farm properties have very valuable additions that Zillow has no accommodation to re-evaluate their "Zestimate"... fencing, barns, stables and out buildings, deep water wells, grain and feed storage, etc... makes just about any rural property look overpriced if it has value over just the home. No evaluation ability for land that is NOT in a flood zone as compared to one that is..

Concerning their "Preferred Agent" program, they give the general public the impression that these agents are somehow better than other agents, when all it is is a "play to Pay" advertising gimmick.

In short, Zillow's "Zestimates" are jokes for anything other than cookie-cutter sub-division homes, and they have absolutely no avenue to have errors in their system to be corrected.

We are within 5 miles of Emory Hospital, CDC and within 285 in the Atlanta area and prices should be going up instead of down. They are making their estimates completely OUT OF WHACK and ruining sales for people in this lovely area. Their Zestimates don't even match on the top of the page what they say when they show the algorithm on the same page. We have given them proof positive of what our home should be but they continue to ignore the info sent and drop it again each time we complain. We fear that people put too much stock in what they say when they search for a home, therefore we will not be able to sell for the price we should. Our home is beautiful, updated, taken care of and everyone who walks in loves it but comments "Zillow says.." How do normal people combat this company? PS... our home has not sold yet.

Zillow must have personnel changes. They were once very good and I would say very accurate. But in the last year to year and a half I have witnessed changes in the sites. Last year most of houses in our neighborhood were rising and a good rate and then some of the homes fell in price. Not all the homes, only 3-4 homes. The ones that fell in value took a dramatic drop... $30-50,000. That was within a 2 month period. Now our homes (gated community of 70 homes). Have a range difference of 200,000 to 250,000. One of the worst houses in our complex has the highest value (Zillow Home ID: ** ). Unbelievable and there isn't a way to contact them to post a problem with their system. I guess they don't care.

It's almost as if it has no personnel. Very poor service. Probably just a software program with no humans and no ability to respond. It's very good opportunity for a company that can respond to bugs in the software to replace their shoddy service.

On November 25th 2014, I was contacted by a sales associate William **. He has contacted me via text message regarding a Macomb Township zip code 48044 and asked if I would be interested. He then mentioned that I would have 4,573 views a month for a fee of $615 per month. I told him that seemed steep for the price. He then asked to get a lender to split the cost. I hesitated for a bit and he sent another message stating that there were 51 people on the waiting list and it would be gone within the hour. When I asked how many agents are in rotation, Will stated "It depends on the zip, all you need to worry about is that I would be one of 3 agents featured, 4,573 times per month and that it's very exclusive".

I was told I would get a ton of leads off this zip. I agreed based on those terms. Once signed, I requested some further information once I had a lender involved (around Christmas time). Will, stated on speaker phone with my lender in my office that there were about 6 agents featured. I asked "what happened to 3?" No response. He then stated that the way to get business was to have a ton of reviews on their site (never discussed before). After hanging up I sent an email to him stating my disappointment and that he lied to me. It had been a month without a single contact or lead from Zillow and the 48044 zip I invested into. I even filled out a dissatisfaction survey.

I was followed up by Michael ** who is apparently the Success Manager. Him and I spoke and I told him my side. He said that was disappointed on how things had happened and offered exposure in 5 other zip codes for a 99% discount. Obviously, I was disappointed in the fact that not only was I being screwed over by their sales practice, but also had to pay additional to help me get more possible business. I told him no. I would like to have nothing further to do with this and I would like reimbursement for what I have paid in. He said he would be in contact with Will's manager and get back to me (that was last week).

I emailed Michael on Monday and asked when I can expect to hear back from him. Yesterday, Michael ** called and mentioned that it's only been a short time and I didn't give it much chance. He then started to mention that I would have to buy out the remainder of my contract. This is total garbage. People need to know of this practice. There are a ton of agents out there trying to capture new business. ZILLOW IS A SCAM FOR AGENTS!

We have had our house on the Market since Sept 2014. Once it was put on the MLS, various websites showed it as well including Zillow. Our house has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This was accurate on all sites - in the header and in the supporting text. On January 4th, Zillow started reporting in the header that our house has only 1 bathroom. The text still shows 2 bathrooms, but if a buyer filters by # of bathrooms, our home won't show correctly now. My husband and I both tried to have this changed by e-mailing Zillow and by trying to edit the info ourselves, but we cannot and they continue to tell us our agent must change the "feed" sites, but the MLS and Realtor.com are correct. I have no idea where this was changed and no one at Zillow can help or tell me.

My property is currently on the market in Danbury CT since March 1, 2014 and the problem is the same as every seller is and has experienced with Zillow across the U.S.....inaccurate damaging zesitmate numbers. I've spoken to my real estate agent numerous times about correcting it however there is no way for an agent or FSBO to correct the zesitmate number. In addition my agent was recently locked out of her own Zillow account with no other way to make contact with Zillow except by email...I ask is this a reputable company.

Since March 2014 my agent has received one (1) inquiry via email from Zillow about my property that individual said nice property priced to high according to the zestimate. With that I took action ASAP. I insisted that the agency remove my listing from Zillow's website completely. I do not believe this will hurt the properties exposure since it's accurately being advertised on all other web sites and Zillow has not produced a viable buyer.

I recently came across an article on line dated 9/11/2014 in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Northwood Realty of Pittsburgh PA recently pulled all their listings from Zillow for the same reason. I commend them for taking action against this company. I can only hope that other real estate agencies will do the same. From what my agent told me the MLS service pays a lot of money to Zillow as do agents/companies and a like to advertise on Zillow to generate leads. The conclusion I've come to like with any business their in business to make money not sell a property thus not caring if the information is correct or accurate or the consequences they may cause.

Sellers have the choice not to have their property listed on Zillow. Maybe if more sellers did this and not use Zillow's website that would send a clear message to them. I hope this helps. Stuck in Danbury grrrrrr.

I have seen many Zillow estimates more than 30% lower than the true value which likely scares off many potential buyers. It would not shock me if 10% or more of the foreclosures in the past 8 years may have been avoided if the Zestimates on their homes were accurate. They are most likely intentionally criminal acts in many cases, like mine. I had my home for sale (a brick and mortar, almost 3000 sf 2 story house with a pool on a 1/2 acre) at a fair price of $299,000 (it appraised for $284,000 a year earlier and I put some work into it to make it worth a bit more plus that area appreciated that year) and they used comps from trailers in a nearby neighborhood and put the Zestimate under $240,000 (I think it may even have been $170,000 but later was changed).

I could not get any offers over $290,000 on it. I needed the $299,000 to break even and pay off the loans but lost it to foreclosure not being able to hold on to it or sell it due to several financial problems along with the bank lying and stating I gave them no forwarding address when I moved out, never giving me notice of the foreclosure sale. This home was ** Highland Village, TX. I also have a client whose home has 4011 sf, with perhaps the best views in the Napa Valley, with an excellently renovated home/property with 1.34 acres where they put a Zestimate of only about $1.3 million while a home with limited views and in need of repair, with only a little more than 1800 sf has a Zestimate of $1.34 million. (Compare 597 Montecito Blvd. Napa, CA with 643 Montecito Blvd. Napa, CA). The Zestimate was very low on 597 (my listing) and I emailed Zillow many times over a 2 week period but received no response regarding it.

I decided to join their 'premier agent' network and paid them to 'advertise' on their site, and immediately got a response to my emails and watched the Zestimate on that home go up to over $2.2 million within a weeks' time! I was told it was a computer generated process and that they could not change it but after paying money it sure changed quick. I was not too happy about the way they did my Zestimate nor this home, nor countless others I've seen, so I kept asking them to address their disclaimer and put it in large font boldly on each Zestimate and not hide it in back pages. Furthermore, I was not too happy about the way they were demanding me to have my clients contact them in order to verify my reviews for my services, especially since they were telling my multi million dollar clients that they needed to provide more details and rejected several for no known reason, frustrating my clients and causing my relationship with them to be questioned since they know Zillow puts forth highly false information.

They blocked and frustrated many of my clients and refused to put the reviews about me on their site (even to this day) except for one which is very old, and it makes me look as if I have no reviews when in fact I have several. I let Zillow know I was growing very frustrated with them the way they are abusing home owners, as well as real estate professionals and their clients, so they decided to tie me up and drag me on the back of their pickup so to speak. Next, they refunded my money and broke our advertising agreement knowing that I had been blogging about the way they do business perhaps, without my consent and then I saw the Zestimate on 597 Montecito Blvd. drop back down to $1.3 million the next day!

They play with the Zestimates and they have no bearing on the true value of a home far too often, yet they bring millions to their site who trust their valuation process. It is actually criminal, known as either libel or slander, since they quite often attack home owners as well as real estate agents and brokers and scare potential buyers away with their lying home valuations. I was watching the value go up and down and had printed out the Zestimates for this home this time, and let them know I was on to them and then the next day after I emailed them the Zestimate miraculously went up about $880,000 again in one day! Zillow's Zestimates are garbage, and their company is filled with liars and people who love to destroy others so that they can achieve their own personal goals. My corner house (built in 1921, 3075 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, with interior and exterior renovated within the past ten years, plus a detached garage and standby generator) is "zestimated" at $390,744). This low appraisal is absurd considering recent comparables in the neighborhood. For example, another house in the middle of the same block (built in 1911, 3,067 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, no garage) recently sold for $480,000 and is now "zestimated" at $556,770! What is the point of this Texas company making such arbitrary "zestimates" of properties in other states, properties that it has not actually inspected and whose neighborhoods it seems to be unfamiliar with?

Zestimates are only accurate 50% of the time, if that. Some homes are often times worth much higher than what the Zestimate value portrays. Sometimes, they overrate how much a home is worth, which is pretty hilarious. The site is useful, but use it with caution. There are many many factors that can influence home values, and unfortunately the Zestimate won't take that into account at all; sometimes it's pretty random.

Zillow has "zestimated" our property $35,000 to $40,000 below both a professional estimate a few months ago and estimates listed on similar websites. In their charts, they showed that our home value dropped about $30,000 in the last year. This is ridiculous - homes for sale in our neighborhood are at the same price point as last year, so the market hasn't dropped significantly in our neighborhood, and the house itself has gained value as we continue to make improvements. When I contacted Zillow asking for an explanation, they simply sent a link to the page for our home. The subject line said that the home value had decreased (so, in response to my inquiry, they further decreased our home value).

I contacted them again, stating that it didn't make sense that our home value had dropped so significantly when homes for sale in the neighborhood have stayed consistent over the years (ours is in the same condition, and obviously, the same area as those next door and across the street). In the "similar homes for sale in the area" column, the website lists the least expensive homes in the surrounding towns, which is irrelevant when there are several homes for sale in our neighborhood. I have received no further response. Although we are not currently attempting to sell our home, we plan to do so in the next few years, and Zillow's estimate is damaging and irresponsible, especially as they do not respond to attempts at contact.

Zestimates are WRONG and seem to TARGET certain homes with MASSIVE reductions in values while other neighboring homes are unchanged. In fact, in my case, my home Zestimate went DOWN by 20% while neighboring home went UP 5-10%.

Clearly Zillow is DAMAGING the housing market values worse than the housing bubble did. The more people who complain about this company's damaging protocols, the more stock values will plummet... as well they should. Zillow is an out of control source of misinformation.
