Less than a year old refrigerator sensor and LED lighting dead. Buyer beware. People have reported lots of issue. They need to regulate Whirpool as a company because they own all the brands monopolizing and creating Whirpoop products.

I bought this fridge 31 July, never got down to temperature. Thought to myself sometimes they are just defective. Called the warranty repair, sure enough bad compressor, parts on back order. Lowe's replaced with same model. Same model same problem bad compressor. Same warranty repair, same nothing I can do about it. Thought to myself, no way there could be 3 bad ones from the same place, but you guessed it. Third order same story. Finally wised up and got a refund and picked something non-Whirlpool. Not only were the refrigerators terrible, whirlpool did not want to do anything about my family not having a refrigerator for a month. Please do not buy this fridge and if you want great service do not buy whirlpool. Lowe's however, very responsive and helpful with all the replacing!

As part of the deal when I bought my house in Dec. 2022, the previous owners had to replace the existing refrigerator. They left a brand new Whirlpool. Firstly the design itself is awful. Nothing fits well into the shelf compartments, as if the engineers just threw something together without any regard for what might be stored there. The top isn't flat, rather it's bulging as if someone jammed stuff inside to make it fit, and now the seal on the freezer has peeled halfway off so the door no longer shuts right, leaving a situation with ice and frost forming inside. I would expect more from an old established brand like this, including a company that can stand behind a major purchase like this for more than one year. I will probably soon be replacing this unit and will steer way clear of buying any Whirlpool products in the future.

Very disappointed with my Whirlpool French door fridge. I either have condensation dripping on the floor from the middle seal when I don't use the "humidity control" feature, or ice build up in the freezer when I do. Which is the less of the two??? I am going nowhere with their customer service department. That seems to be what this model does. Not sure I want to pay $200 to call a technician who will tell me it is the way it is....

I have never been more disgusted. My $1300 stainless steel fridge MOD.WRS321SDHZ08 turned 2 years old this month. I called the warranty services because it was warm one day. They told me that I would need to come have a tech diagnose the issue even though I have already diagnosed it. The problem is it is the defroster. A CRUICIAL PART of a working refrigerator that is ONLY COVERED as part of the 1 YEAR WARRANTY! So they gave me 2 options. Option 1 is a one time fix costing $477 PAID IN FULL BEFORE ANYONE WILL EVEN LOOK AT IT!!! (30% of the cost of the fridge). Or I could purchase a warranty which would cost me $43 a month INDEFINITELY! (Because if it doesn't last 2 years, it could break literally everyday!) I have thrown out everything in my fridge multiple times now because of this.
ALL of my kitchen appliances are Whirlpool. But I will never be purchasing Whirlpool products in the future if they cannot stand behind their product for longer than 1 year! Refrigerators should last 40 years without issues! As I have now found, this model has a history of the defroster being an issue. It should be recalled. It is made with cheap parts in Mexico and at one point the evaporator fan stopped because it got caught on another part which shifted over about an inch because the zip tie that was holding it back slid slightly. If I had called someone out at that point I would've paid them $150 for a zip tie! I'll probably just learn how to fix it myself because I'm not paying some schmuck to come out to bend me over a barrel like Whirlpool already did.

36-Inch Wide French Door Refrigerator - 25 cu. ft. Model: WRX735SDHZ07. Absolutely the worst refrigerator we ever bought! Our last refrigerator lasted 30 years. We bought Whirlpool because it is supposed to be reliable. This refrigerator just barely lasted 2 years before the compressor stopped working. There's only one company in the whole NYC area that does warranty repairs and you have to wait at least 2 weeks for an appointment. That company has so many complaints with the Better Business Bureau that we weren't willing to wait 2 weeks. Our local repair guy, who came the next day tested it and said the compressor was so bad he wouldn't recommend fixing it. We will never buy Whirlpool again!!!

I Bought a brand new Whirlpool french door refrigerator in May '24 from Home Depot costing $1,800. After 5 days, both the freezer and ice machine stopped working. Home Depot has 48 hr return policy on all major appliances. (Please keep that in mind) so I had to call Whirlpool under my 1 yr. Warranty. Over the next 2 months they sent various repairmen to my home 6 times in total, to attempt to fix it. Plus another 2 times that were no shows. That's 8 mornings I took off from work in total. Only after 2 months with no freezer/ice machine, attempting 6 times to repair and changing a multitude of parts did they FINALLY decide to credit me (not refund) the $1,800 towards a replacement. And here's the icing on the cake....
Whirlpool Corporate informed me that my model had been discontinued from when I purchased it 2 months ago, but that they'd credit me what I paid ($1,800) towards another model. Although, if I decided to replace it with a model costing less, they would not refund me the difference! Is that even legal?? They also informed me that a refund was not an option, even though it was deemed defective out of the box. I also asked if I could get compensated in any way for the nightmare they put me through, including my estimated 32 hrs in total I had to take off from work to meet their repairmen? Whirlpool Corporate's answer was simply.."No, Whirlpool does not compensate." By the way, I just discovered on 08/15/24 that there is a class action law suit filed against Whirlpool for you guessed it....their refrigerators.

Purchased a new French door refrigerator in 3/22. Now in 8/24 the Compressor is out. Took them over a week to get someone out here. I told them it was the compressor, but what do I know. The Tech came today and he said it's the compressor. They of course have to order the part. It won't be in for over 2 weeks. What is a family to do with no refrigerator. Why aren't these parts in stock. There is no one to call, no one cares. everyone directs you to online. Shame on Sears for having Whirlpool make their Kenmore brand. I believe things are programmed now to stop working. I have had appliances that lasted over 30 years. You don't mind the cost so much if they last but 2 years. Nowadays, it's normal for expensive appliances to fail shortly after the warranty is no longer valid. That is NOT acceptable. I would avoid buying Whirlpool or Kenmore appliances if I were you. Look for something old, you will get more bang for your buck!

I will never buy from Whirlpool again. I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator 8 months ago from Castro, the compressor is burnt and they don't have this part, they ordered it to come from America, but nobody knows when???! This is awful and no one is responsible. What should I do without a refrigerator? All the food in the fridge and freezer was spoiled! Customer service is awful!!!

I wouldn’t even give this Whirlpool refrigerator one star. The product quality is terrible, and the service is even worse. I received a brand-new Whirlpool refrigerator as part of my new home, but the freezer section never cooled properly from day one. When I contacted customer care for a replacement, they refused, stating that because it was purchased through the builder as part of my home package, it couldn't be replaced. They insisted that unless the service technicians declared the appliance irreparable, they wouldn’t replace it. The service technicians took 3-4 months and multiple visits to fix the fridge, all while I endured a Southern summer without a working freezer or ice maker. Their lack of expertise was frustrating, and customer care was completely unhelpful.
After finally managing to repair the freezer, it worked for just another year before breaking down again—this time, the compressor failed. Since the refrigerator was out of warranty, Whirlpool only covered the compressor and sealed parts, but not the labor cost. The labor estimate I received was nearly the cost of a new refrigerator, so I ended up throwing away a two-year-old appliance and buying a new one. I faced similar issues with other Whirlpool appliances like the microwave and washer. Because of this experience, I will never purchase another Whirlpool product. I’ve advised my friends to steer clear as well. This was the worst experience I’ve had with any brand.

Whirlpool has been aware of a broken wire issue in the freezer door that causes issues like in my case the ice maker doesn’t work. As of today, Whirlpool doesn’t have a recall or quality issue listed. Because I purchased it 3 years ago the only solution or fix they were able to offer me was a 15-20% discount on their website for a new appliance.

NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL FRIDGE. Whirlpool Fridge Model WRS555SIHZ03 Whirlpool Serial Number HRA0266137. We bought a new Whirlpool side by side fridge that arrived February 27, 2021. As a new fridge the cost was $2152.63 Cdn including tax. In April, 2024, around 37 months later, there was an observable problem with the ice maker. Water flowed all over the front door on the freezer side of the fridge.
I called a Whirlpool repair company. The technician came out 5 times as the issue kept reoccurring. After paying upwards of $1800 they said they could not repair the ice maker issue and left. I contacted Whirlpool Canada customer care suggesting assistance and remuneration. The response was insulting! They offered me a 15% discount for a new fridge! Obviously, Whirlpool makes poor quality fridges and practices zero customer care. Again, do not buy Whirlpool!

I bought a Whirlpool fridge (model WRF757SDHZ04) and had it installed in my house in February 2023. Sixteen months later, the evaporator fan motor died, preventing my fridge from cooling. The repair technician took two weeks to fix the problem. The new part and labor cost me over $370. Because my fridge was just outside the one-year warranty, Whirlpool refused to reimburse any of my repair costs, even though my wife and I separately called Whirlpool to complain. I'll never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. I'm tempted to stop buying $50 water filters for my fridge because I no longer want to give this company any of my hard-earned money.

I will never buy Whirpool products again. Bought all new appliances in July of 2020. Refrigerator was delivered in December of 2020. 3.5 years old and it quit working. Service people think there may be a freon leak but won’t know until they tear it apart. Warranty does not cover this. Today the microwave quit working. No warranty covered on that either. And to think I still have a Whirlpool dishwasher, washer and dryer yet. I’m sure they will be failing soon as well.

The new refrigerator has three freezer shelves and seven shelf spaces, and arranged logically I have 22" between shelves. Angela at Whirlpool tells me they do not recommend buying more shelves because it will impede the airflow, and she gave me no help whatsoever on how to buy more shelving. You MAY be able to fit about a third of your expected frozen food in the freezer. I bought one shelf -- $250 -- and it doesn't even fit properly. But feel happy for Whirlpool, they saved a fan outlet and shelves. The refrigerator is LOUD and wakes me up at night. It locks without input, so that's a repair charge down the road when I am locked out of my bare-minimum food. And I paid more to get this brand!

Bought new fridge by paying whole amount at once and it is so bad. Just after a month of purchase excess cooling was happening. We requested for exchange but Whirlpool company didn't do. They came around 3-4 times and don't know what all they did. We were against it but they were adamant they won't change. They then repaired and changed the sensor. And now again after 4-5 months, fridge is not cooling only. I have bakery business, my cream and other products are getting melted. The store from where we bought (The Great Eastern) and Whirlpool company both are behaving very badly with this. I request someone to look into this matter.

This refrigerator cost me over $600.00 and everything in it froze. Called about a month after and had a person come out and try to fix. They caulked something and reset. The food continued to start freezing again I called and had another service guy come out and ordered an new thermostat. Had to wait, turned fridge to lowest setting. Finally got the thermostat about 2 months later. Tried that for about 2 months and it started all over. Had one more service tech out probably another 2 months later. Worked for bit then slowly started freezing again, slowly turned temperature down little by little, quit using some of the drawers. Last straw was the one shelf fell off. There is no reimbursements. Not a new fridge was ever offered. Now trying a new company. This was a lemon. Should of gotten a new fridge in exchange.

I bought the most expensive refrigerator I've ever purchased (as a landlord I've purchased many dozens new refrigerators). For my own home I purchased a stainless steel Whirlpool. It keeps milk and meat great. But it ruins all cold sensitive veggies like cucumbers and greens. Normally I can adjust the temp and keep sensitive vegetables down on the lower section and it's fine. Not with this fridge. I finally gave up and bought a second fridge just to keep vegetables. Also the cheese tray thing falls out and drops all my food on the floor. Happened dozens of times. I'm tired of my expensive cheese hitting the floor. This company makes junk. Don't buy it.

Where should I start. I purchased all Whirlpool appliances for my new home. Purchased them in June 2021. Did not buy extra warranty. Dryer is ok, washing machine the paint is bubbling up inside the lid and peeling, had to put flex all white tape to stop some areas that was the worst to prevent rust. The French door fridge the right side seal is ripping, had to use clear gorilla tape so it doesn’t rip anymore so I don’t lose cold from escape out. The microwave when you put something in and close the door it lights up door, I have to open door and close it again for it to turn on. The stove has this clicking noise that’s been doing it from day 1. The dishwasher where the steam escapes started rusting on right side. So there you go. I would not buy Whirlpool ever again. Good luck.

If there was a no star they got it. Dual freezer, 4 door seemed a perfect fit for us. Within 12 months two door gaskets have ripped apart. Amateurish design. The tech said we are not opening the fridge correctly. Wow didn't know a door needs special opening instructions. Been never ending wait to get any response from their customer service. Sometimes they hang up after 30 plus min hold. It is easier to deal with IRS than trying to get anything done with their customer service on. Pitiful for such a storied brand. Stay away if you could but most of the other 'American' brands are all made in China for/by Whirlpool.
