If I could give Whirlpool a zero rating... I would...horrible customer service on top of selling the worst scrap appliance on the planet...Run like the dickens from anything made by them. After a month of finger pointing, Lowes and Whirlpool have informed me that I am now the proud owner of a $1,500 BOAT ANCHOR....BEWARE..!!!

I am so disappointed in Whirlpool fridge. And as I checked on other reviews, there's lots of 1 star. Manufacturer defaults shabby workmanship. The motor is lower. Had scratches on the door. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. They need to change their workmanship.

I recently purchased Whirlpool appliances to included a stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. The refrigerator was delivered November 2024 and the ice maker has stopped working. My initial call to Whirlpool was on 3/12/2024, and I am still waiting for someone to contact me to schedule a service call. Yes. You read that correctly. That is ten business days waiting to even get an appointment scheduled. On top of that their customer service representatives are not knowledgeable about my product. Each call to the “whirlpool customer service experience” is just that an unforgettable experience and not in a good way.

I contacted Home Depot after 2 1/2 days of receipt of a new refrigerator/freezer to report continuous loud sounds emanating from a newly purchased refrigerator/freezer. After a few days the refrigerator continues to make sounds loud enough to be disturbing. When I reported the issue the HomeDepot representative argued that I did not meet the window allocated for reporting. I believe I acted reasonably waiting a day or so as after the appliance was initially plugged in, it began making the extremely loud sounds, which I attributed was normal, as the motor(s) and compressors where ramping up to bring the refrigerator to the desired temperature. The loud sounds emanating from the refrigerator/freezer never stopped.
I was then forced to call Whirlpool that same day for warranty repairs. I waited 3 -4 week before a technician arrived, only to have the technician tell me he cannot fix the issue. That was over 2 weeks ago, and as of 5 Mar 2025, I have not heard from the warranty repair contractor. I feel I have been treated especially poorly and unfairly. All the while I have an appliance that makes loud sounds, loud enough that it has brought mental strife to my family's quality of LIFE. I need a resolution as soon as possible. I have family members with hearing impairment, the loud sounds are unbearable to my family members. I mentioned before a technician assessed the refrigerator, He stated there was not a resolution for the excessively loud sounds the appliance makes.
I asked that he included his observation and diagnoses in his report, but after contacting Whirlpool warranty support, I was told no such entry note was ever made a part of the record. I believe the refrigeration is defective, as the technician alluded to during his first visit, is there a path to return this defective appliance. Home Depot is our family everyday source for hardware, support and appliance for over 40 years. Your continued support and cooperation is greatly appreciated
Note: 8 Mar 2025. While I was finalizing this email message, a representative of Home Depot called to let me know he was en route to service the refrigerator issue, only to discover that his order of support was for a "Dishwasher". After I explained in detail the issue was with the refrigerator/freezer, the technician said he would arrange to have the "Defective" (note his words) refrigerator/freezer replace on Monday, 10 Mar 2025. One hour later another Home Depot representative called to say a replacement was not being dispatched for delivery on 10 Mar 2025. I am beyond frustration at this moment.
2nd Attempt to resolve issue causing Family Hardship. Unfortunately to my detriment and faith in Whirlpool products, I missed the 48hr deadline by less than 10hrs, My initial call was made after determining the loud sound emanating from the refrigerator had not ceased as expected. Not to mention, the service technician explained that he can replace the part, but replacing the part would not fix the issue. As he explained the situation with a shrug, as if nothing else can be done. As stated in my previous note, I have been a loyal Whirlpool appliance consumer for over 40 year, I have never been involved I an reported issue where a product has caused environmental health issues for my family, appears to be falling on deaf ears. Your support is greatly appreciated and urgently needed. As of Mar. 14 2025 I am on the schedule to have the Evaporator Motor replaced for the 2nd time.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator when I moved into my new home in July 2022. Five to eight months into having the fridge, I started to experience issues with the ice maker. A technician came out and supposedly repaired the problems, but they charged me for coming out since I didn't get a warranty. I had no problem paying out of pocket to get it repaired properly. The same technician came out four more times for the same issues, and still, the problem was not repaired. Why continue to waste good money for a problem that continues to exist?
The technician repeatedly shared that this is an issue with "Whirlpool appliance!!!! I had to purchase ice every week because of this problem. I am spending additional money when I purchase a new fridge to do that for me. Then I started to have issues getting water from the refrigerator, too. Sadly, I have attempted to contact Whirlpool to see what they can do since I spent over $2000 for a fridge that doesn't produce ice or water. I can't talk to a person because the provided prompts don't address my issue. I have been corresponding since last September, and the first email asked about when I purchased it, where, and the model.
I provided that to them, and then I was given that they would provide me with 20-30% off a Kitchen-aid, on my next purchase. I don't need or ask for a kitchen aid; I need Whirlpool to compensate for a refrigerator sitting in my garage because I had to purchase another refrigerator because it didn't make any ice or get water from it. The string that broke two camels' backs was the email I received today from Shaterrica of the Whirlpool Consumer Correspondence Team: "Thanks for your feedback, and it will be documented and forwarded for review." She goes on to say that it may not generate any contact with you, but a file will be generated to be reviewed by analysts to see how to improve the quality of their appliance. What this said to me as a customer is that you don't care what I spend because we have been paid for the poor quality of a refrigerator. We are just checking boxes as a formality that we did something.
Going forward, I will ensure that people know what Whirlpool stands for in terms of caring for its customers and the poor craftsmanship of its appliances. I will never, and I mean never, purchase anything that starts with a "w" and ends with "l." As you can see from the picture, it is sitting in my garage. I wish Whirlpool would pick it up and give me my money back. I purchased this refrigerator at Lowe's in Killeen, Texas. I am the spouse of a Retired Army Veteran, and this is how Whirlpool treats people who have fought for their country!!!

Whirlpool does not stand behind its product. I bought side by side refrigerator in 2019. I had to have repaired every year. The final repair was an eye opener. The refrigerator door gasket needed to be replaced. The maintenance company replaced the gasket. The door design is defective. I can only replace the door. $629 plus tax and installation. Whirlpool Darlene escalation department said this is how it goes if Whirlpool design is defective. Buy a new door because we do not stand behind our product or just buy a new refrigerator with only a 20 percent discount. I do not have one thousand dollars plus to pay for a new refrigerator. I already spent money on had to throw out. Only fools would buy a whirlpool product.

We purchased a Whirlpool high end refrigerator in October 2023 from Lowe’s. We did not purchase the extended warranty because we thought we were purchasing a quality product and it had a 1 year warranty. WRONG!! At 14 months the compressor went bad. The representative from Whirlpool was kind enough to recommend purchasing an extended warranty through a third party and assured us that this repair would be covered. We were without our refrigerator from January 25th through February 26th!! We ended up buying another refrigerator (and I guarantee it was not a Whirlpool product) to put in our garage after three weeks without one and no time frame to fix the Whirlpool one. We had to throw a lot of food away and were living out of a cooler buying ice every other day for essentials.
My one star rating is strictly for Whirlpool. The outside contracted company that originally came out, diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, and repaired the refrigerator were excellent. Once the parts were in and they came out to fix the refrigerator it was a five hour repair job!! So far it’s working but every time the refrigerator makes a strange noise we are waiting for it to die again. I contacted the CEO of Whirlpool by email and detailed our experience and disappointment with Whirlpool on February 21st and have yet over two weeks later received any type of response. I would strongly advise against purchasing any Whirlpool product.

Horrendous customer service and poor appliance quality. My fridge broke down before the two year anniversary. Serviceman was supposed to come in on 3/5, at the last minute they cancelled and could not be reached back to reschedule! NEVER AGAIN! Trash this piece of garbage and make sure my family and friends are warned NOT to buy this brand.

The true test of a refrigerator is at the 4-5 year mark. Just short of 4 years, the ice maker stopped making ice. My model # is WR588FIHZ00. Months of repairs replacing all parts did not resolve the problem. Apparently, the water line keeps freezing up. The only repair left to us is to replace the entire door. At a substantial cost! I called Whirlpool and was told, since the fridge was at the 5 year mark, the management team said no. There is a class action lawsuit that Whirlpool has agreed to, but it is on the French door style. We own a side by side. Also, the back of the fridge shelves are so cold, items freeze! DO NOT BUY.

In 10/2020 bought a Whirlpool French door refrigerator and KitchenAid dishwasher for about $3,600.00 total. As of now, the fridge needs a new thermostat and both french doors need new seals. The plastic for the light broke on the right door so no light when opening that door. Seals and plastic are cheaply made and it's easy to see why seals split and cracked.
The dishwasher needs a new heating element among other things, and repairman said buy a new one due to cost of repairs. My Kenmore lasted 20 years with never a repair and this lack of quality for American made products is disappointing. I expect appliances to last more than 4 years. Unfortunately, I don't have the receipt from 4 years ago to be labeled a verified buyer, but the store purchased from was in Brownstown, PA and the repair company is from my hometown.

Recently purchase a Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator French Door Model. Unfortunately I opted for the model with the inside water dispenser. The design is not user-friendly and I'm so unhappy with it. One must open the door and reach in with both hands, one hand to hold the glass under the water dispenser, and the other hand to push the button above the water dispenser. My shoulders are large and don't easily reach in with only one door open, so both doors need to be opened. An inconvenient and burdensome aggravation reminding me of my poor choice every time I want a glass of water.

Whirlpool wrs588fihv00 is junk. Whirlpool is selling subpar refrigerators and they know it. So many people have the same cheap ultra-thin guage wires running to freezer. Talk to parts department. They knew the wires broke going into bottom of freezer. Said I have to buy whole door for $929 plus shipping. They don't sell a harness. I will never buy their garbage products again. What a joke of a company. I also see there are class action lawsuits for this known problem. I hope they fine them on top of refunds.

In November 2024, we had an unplanned need to replace our refrigerator. After a day of reviewing different brands and models on the internet, we settled on Whirlpool French Door Mount. Here are the numbers: WRFF3036RZ00 and KD4809089. My issues are as follow: The doors have six compartments which I placed various items. Unfortunately, every time a door is opened and closed those items move and clang against each other making loud noises with the possibility of breakage. In the main refrigerator part, the drawers are wobbly and feel like they will go off track or break. We did not receive a butter tray or ice cube trays. My husband was unsatisfied and spoke to Whirlpool. Unbeknownst to us, a couple of men rang our doorbell one day about the refrigerator but I had no idea they were coming. When asked why, one man called a number because he didn't know either. They abruptly left.
I sent an email to Whirlpool customer service. They send me a link to Owners Manual and Parts list. I could not access and asked that they be hyperlinked. After a couple of weeks, the manual was hyperlinked but not parts list. Just today, I sent another request. This is quite maddening and will have a big effect on my next appliance purchase.

Bought a Whirlpool fridge on May 8, 2023. On May 11, the fridge was dead. Whirlpool would neither replace it (corporate policy) nor fix it (no spare parts in stock). By late July, two compressors and one mother board later, the fridge was finally up and running. On February 7, 2025 the Whirlpool fridge was dead again. This time it’s the fan, which - surprise, surprise - is not in stock and is backordered from China on a timeline of weeks. So…we cut our losses and bought a Samsung fridge which should be with us in two days. Damn you, Whirlpool. We’ll never touch another product of yours with a 10-foot pole.

I have purchased two brand new Whirlpool refrigerators in the last 2 years and I am still having problems with the second one. I have had multiple repair specialists repair my refrigerators four to five times for each refrigerator, I will never buy another Whirlpool refrigerator or appliance as long as I live. The repair specialists are very hard to work with. They are not trustworthy and they to like to do repairs on a daily basis so they could keep their job. Knowing that they're not fixing the refrigerator, they still do the repairs. They said it's the way their companies run. I had to run one repair guy off for lying to me on several different occasions. So sick of Whirlpool and the repair specialist. Never again.

Disastrous Product Failure – Costly Home Damage, No Accountability. I purchased a Whirlpool steam dryer, expecting quality and reliability from a well-known brand. Unfortunately, a part failure in the unit led to catastrophic water damage in my home, resulting in over six figures in repair costs. The dryer was maintained properly, yet this failure caused significant financial and emotional stress. Despite reaching out to Whirlpool for assistance, they denied any goodwill or responsibility, citing that it was six months past the 12-year law.
While I understand warranties have limits, I expected a brand like Whirlpool to stand behind its products, especially when a defect results in such extensive damage. If you’re considering this product, be aware that a simple failure could lead to major home damage, and Whirlpool will not assist you. I strongly advise thoroughly researching alternative brands that prioritize customer support and accountability. #Whirlpool #ApplianceFailure #HomeDamage #PoorCustomerService

We purchased the Whirlpool 5 door refrigerator (W10772358) approximately 5 years ago. Paid $2400. About a year and a half after purchase the bottom freezer wouldn't stay cold enough to keep everything frozen. We had someone out for "Warranty" and they said it wasn't covered. We had to pay $300ish to replace a sensor. Then in October 2023, the water dispenser in the door quit working, another broken part for $300ish. Now the freezer quit freezing again, had a technician out and he defrosted the completely frozen over coil (freezer draw was left open slightly for about an hour 4-6 months ago), reset everything and it was working properly again (by his testing), charged me $170.
At 2am the water dispenser wasn't working, none of the lights in the frig or freezer were working and it was making a clunking sound. Had the technician out the following day and he wasn't able to get any definitive diagnosis but after unplugging all the harnesses and the unit from the wall, multiple times, the unit reset itself and is now working, since Friday. Technician told me if it fails again, the only thing they can do is start replacing parts and hope that works. NOTE: this unit has 5 computers and 5 fans. His first part would be the main computer (approximately $1200 for part and labor). He actually told me if it was his or a family member he would recommend juking it and buying a GE. Very Disappointed in this purchase!! I will never buy anything with the name Whirlpool on it or connected to it!!!

The LED light in the French door refrigerator started blinkering and went dimmer. One of the LED light bulbs stop working. Tried to take it out for repair but was very very difficult to pull out the whole thing. It seemed like it is going to break. That means it is not easy repair or replacement. The item itself is very expensive. The LED should not break this early as it just 3 to 4 years old. I strongly recommend buyers to be cautious while buying any Whirlpool appliances. I do not recommend whirlpool appliances.

Bought my refrigerator (WRQA59CNKZ) in May 2023... Two weeks ago the top compartment's light went out. The manual specifically states, “The lights in both the fresh food and freezer compartments are LEDs which do not need to be replaced.” However, according to several reviews online, a light needing replaced is quite common. Despite this, Whirlpool states there are no recalls. They told me my only options are to pay several hundred dollars for a repair or buy a new appliance... completely replacing a year and a half old fridge (because of a light) is actually one of their solutions. The replacement part alone costs $229 on their website and is listed as "Factory Backorder." It appears this is such a common problem that they can't even keep the part in stock. Look elsewhere if you're wanting a quality product.

In July of 2024 we bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator, Model WRF535SWHZ12, and we are very disappointed in the quality of the four shelves inside. The fridge is just 6 months old and there are dents in the metal facing of all shelves. We know this is cosmetic but feel this should not happen after 6 months. After calling the warranty company and Whirlpool, there is nothing they can do after 30 days. There are 2 senior citizens living here so it is not like people are banging the shelves while putting food items in. This is poor quality in our opinion. We had a GE Profile Fridge before this and it lasted for 14 years, no issues. We are moving soon and have to leave the refrigerator here for the new owners so needless to say, we will not be purchasing any Whirlpool appliances for our new home. The appliances are GE Profile in our new home so we will continue purchasing that brand.
