February of this year we purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator. After just a few days we noticed a whine and whistle in our refrigerator. Whirlpool sent a technician out just to find out that this noise is normal with their new refrigerators. This noise is all we here whenever it runs.

Our freezer is barely one year old and already stopped working twice! making us losing hundreds of dollars. The one year warranty is garbage, they won’t come to see the unit until 4 days later which by that time everything was melted. This is the worst freezer. I won’t recommend to anyone. It is a wasting of money.

My Whirlpool Refrigerator was 8 years old. The frig temperature was at 48 degrees, and the freezer was at 30 degrees. We used the manual to troubleshoot the issue. It states that the condenser requires cleaning every 2-3 months if the environment is greasy, dusty or has pet traffic (otherwise, it NEVER needs cleaning). Our kitchen environment is clean, and we have no pets. The condenser is at floor level, and after 8 years, it was packed with dirt and dust. Customer service stands by this negligent statement in the manual. There's plenty of online information provided by expert repair people stating that the condenser needs cleaning every 6 months, regardless of the environment. In my view, Whirlpool should have offered to do the right thing and offer free service to rectify the issue. I'd give them ZERO stars if I could!

I have a 28" wide stainless-steel refrigerator I purchased in 5-2021. We noticed freezer was not keeping cold after pulling out some hamburger this past June 2023. Warranty was still good. Had a technician come by for $156. He said the sealing system wasn't keeping it cold and freon had leaked out. Another technician came by and tried putting in more freon which didn't work a day later. On top of that, the refrigerator itself quit working.

Had to make another appointment which took approximately another week. Technician came by and did more work and found out a part was needed, and other work, plus had to redo freon again. By the way, we were living out of a cooler for days. I demanded a new refrigerator, and they said no. So this technician said it was fixed. I purchased a freezer thermometer and to this day ice cream will not freeze for some reason. Anyways, not happy with Whirlpool. Still warranty is good till 2026 I believe. If it fails again, I am demanding a new refrigerator. I have all Whirlpool appliances with no problems otherwise. I think I have a lemon.

Model # WRS315SDHMO80. This refrigerator came with our Palm Harbor Home. It is the cheapest and the most poorly designed refrigerator that you could possibly find. The stainless steel stains anytime the doors are touched, the water dispenser drips down the front, the freezer section is so poorly designed that even a box a waffles can't fit in the miniscule area. On the front bottom edges of the refrigerator there are white water supply lines that are exposed. Cheap looking! Do not buy!!!

I had very good experience with old Whirlpool appliances. Because of that I bought a set consisting of a new stove, refrigerator and the dishwasher in December 2021. Since then, the bottom freezer has not been closing properly. A technician came once and fixed the problem, but it has repeatedly arisen. Now the freezer is filled with ice. I have no space to place the food. The entire freezer compartment is filled with ice. Don't waste your hard earned money on whirlpool refrigerators.

We bought a Whirpool refrigerator in January 2023. It was bad right out of the box. Whirpool would not replace. Only send a tech. Took two visits and two months before they finally figured out the problem. Then the part was on back order! The freezer still doesn't work right. Wish I had seen all the bad reviews before buying. Done with Whirlpool. Too bad. They used to be a good company.

I've had good luck with many Whirlpool appliances in the past, but lately my luck has run out. Purchased this side-by-side fridge with the freezer at the bottom in 2019. Before it was 2020, the front cover on the slide-out shelf at the bottom of the fridge started coming off every time you pulled the shelf out. Had to learn how to pull that shelf out, carefully!. Then the center rail for the crisper bins broke (all plastic of course). Replaced that. Six months later, broke again. Replaced, broke again. Can't handle more than 2-3 pounds of fruit or veggies in each bin. Now the plastic frame for the crisper top is broken. Replacement is $100. Besides the shelving, the ice maker only lasted 2 years and the freezer door often does not close properly and the freezer frosts up.

I guess I didn't take the hint from this one. Bought a separate Whirlpool fridge for a vacation home in 2020 and it didn't last two years. Constant electronic control box issues. After that went out for the second time, I ditched the Whirlpool and got an LG. So far, so good on that one. Whirlpool seems to be making trash lately, like many of the other brands.

I went to Costco, they told me to buy a new refrigerator, and returned this one. I bought a new one, now Costco does not allowed to return. I was on hold for days 2.5 hours every time. Whirlpool told me that they do not have parts. The same told me the appliance store that came to see the problem. All the refrigerators have the same problem, the ice maker does not work.

We purchased a brand new Whirlpool refrigerator in February for a beach home. It was delivered by Dr. Johnny's Appliance, a local distributor, when we were not home. When we came down a few weeks later and saw it for the first time, the freezer was not keeping food frozen and the fridge was not as cold as it should be. The local retailer came out and replaced the board. Still not working. Then Whirlpool said a repair would have to be attempted three times before they would even consider replacing it. It has a sealed component that doesn't work, a broken condenser, the interior frame and freezer door are damaged.

It was a defective refrigerator from the get-go but Whirlpool will not replace it. They have a standard "policy" that three repairs have to be attempted, even though it is a brand new appliance. This is not a warranty issue; it is an issue that Whirlpool delivered a damaged product and will not make this right. This is a horrible, unethical company, so do not buy their appliances. They are junk and no one will stand behind them.

Have had Whirlpool, and Kenmore (Whirlpool) for 30 years. This refrigerator was purchased online from Lowes as it looked very similar to our old one and the old one was dead on a Sunday night. Delivery was fast and efficient but the product is JUNK! Ice and water through the door are too far out so every time you fill with water it sprays down the front of fridge. Ice gets caught in chute so as it melts it falls out onto the floor and leaves little puddles. All drawers are plastic on plastic with no rollers so they are difficult to slide and always get crooked and feel like they are going to break. Ice maker is already noisy and sounds like it is on its last legs (owned for 6 months now). Runs constantly but apparently all new ones run a lot and it's an energy saving feature. I will say it has a nice paint job. Other than that, I can't even believe anyone with any kind of professional degree was remotely involved in the design.

I purchased a Whirlpool in June 2022. It worked for 6 weeks. I contacted Whirlpool for repair and 2 weeks later after many hours on phones the repairman arrived. 3 months later the part arrived and was installed. As it is located at the cabin it was not used all winter and unplugged. When I went to open the cabin for the summer I discovered that it was not working again. After another 8 hours on 2 different days on the phones and emails I arranged another service call. More parts were needed. When I didn't hear back from the serviceman after 3 weeks, they finally returned a call and said they could not perform the repair. Whirlpool says I have to find my own repairman and they may reimburse me for the parts and labour but not mileage. Do not buy a Whirlpool refrigerator.

I have never written a bad review for any company. It is not who I am. That said, my experience with Whirlpool has been so horrific, that I feel compelled to share. My fridge is less than a year old and the compressor has gone out. It has been 19 days and I have still not been able to get Whirlpool to honor their product. They keep pushing me further and further out. I do believe eventually they will replace or repair, however, they have buried me in customer support.

Example: They have a firewall between the people that write tickets and sympathize and the people that actually can help. I have been kind but direct, and hung up now at least once. I have spent hours on the phone, just to be told this is "escalated" to a priority team and they will get with you within 5-7 business days.... except they have not. I call back and I am told 2 business days, yet nothing. Now, they are yet again telling me it will take 5-7 business days for the approval of the next steps of the "priority team" assessment.

Everyone has so "understanding" however no one is actually acted. Whirlpool needs to improve their customer service quickly if not they are going to see their customers disappear. I have already been able to get two people to avoid buying whirlpool products, I plan to warn more. Please Whirlpool get it figured out and start caring about your brand. It is 100% not what it was. You have lost me as customer.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in the past year. When it stopped working, we called Whirlpool right away. The Customer Service Department needed to send a technician, which the process took 3 days - only to find out after 3 days that there were no service technicians in our area. Their stated policy is that they require more time to find a technician. It's now been 2.5 weeks without a refrigerator - and after 6 calls to Whirlpool - we are still "in Whirlpool's review process" without a refrigerator. We have asked twice to have our situation escalated and were told that this isn't there process. We have been frustrated and disappointed by such a poor customer service program from such a large business.

Within the first year the ice maker went out during the summer and the part that needed to be replaced was 30 days out from being able to receive it. The warranty department replaced that ice maker part and it worked for about a week or so. Then again the same thing happened and the ice maker went out again. The same person came out to fix the part and it has been working for the last few month. Now AGAIN the part has broke and there is no ice. They said the part would be free of charge but now that I am no longer under warranty that I would have to pay for the service and the labor. I would not recommend this refrigerator. They have not been helpful on the customer service end beside wanting to sell me an extended warranty or help with buying a new refrigerator. What a disappointment.

I could give zero stars, I would. I have been a Whirlpool customer forever, but NEVER AGAIN. I hope people really read and trust these reviews. This is my story. We bought a new house (new construction Feb/2022) so all appliances came with the house. The refrigerator stopped cooling after two months. Lots of spoiled food (over $200.00 worth) and no telling how long it wasn’t working before we realized. Since it was under manufacturer warranty, we had to deal with builder vendor who was useless. After so many calls to him and lots of frustration and anger. I finally got a tech to come out and all he did was quickly diagnose and a week later finally put two new parts in (harness &thermostat). It worked for a while, and then recently same problem (now under extended warranty because we didn’t trust the fix).

I also advise DO NOT GET EXTENDED WARRANTY. So now losing more food and not able to get a tech out for a couple weeks. Had to buy another refrigerator. Since the 2021 refrigerator is now under extended warranty we paid for. I had to wait a week to get it serviced, and the tech basically replace same part. It never cold so AGAIN had had to call warranty company. I said this is the third time which bylaw should be considered 11. The tech called his tech line and after a lot of discussion (they really can’t determine what is wrong) he is ordering another part. The text said warranty company should determine whether I get a new refrigerator. At this point warranty company said they cannot make that determination so guess what the customer stuck in the middle with no resolution. No one seems to have any empathy, and no one cares that a refrigerator is a NECESSITY. Please pay attention to these reviews and stay away from Whirlpool.

I bought a refrigerator 11 months ago (Model WRS321SDHZ08) and it has failed twice. Two times we lost all of our food, including frozen and everything from the refrigerator side. This has cost us nearly $1000 to replace the lost food. Whirlpool doesn't offer any coverage for lost food, they allow the customer to deal with that burden. I agreed with a Whirlpool representative to accept an extended warranty as compensation for the lost food. The refrigerator ended up having an internal leak that couldn't be repaired. They replaced the refrigerator at no cost (it took 2 weeks of living out of coolers, with children in the home). The cost of the ice was again, left for me to burden.

After the new unit arrived, I called Whirlpool to ask about getting the extended warranty transferred to the new unit. I was told that the offer was only good on the old unit, and they would not be able to help me. I tried to explain how and why I was offered the extended warranty, to no avail. The representative as well as the supervisor I spoke with would budge on giving me the extended warranty. I have zero confidence in this new unit, and it will probably fail at month 13 this time leaving me with the bill once again. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product. I hope that everyone who reads this takes my warning... Whirlpool does not care about you, your family, or the financial burden that they put on their customers. If one person reads this and decides not to buy a Whirlpool product because of my review, I will be satisfied. I'm clearly hoping for more than one that takes my warning. When this refrigerator dies, it's goodbye Whirlpool!

I purchased a Whirlpool and it was the biggest mistake I made when buying appliances. I spent $3200 on my fridge that I had for 6 years and purchased 2 extended warranties (each one cost me $500). In the end I was reimbursed 45% of what I initially paid. The fridge was deemed a lemon and they decided to give me 1/2 of my money back instead of replacing the fridge. I was told by Whirlpool customer service multiple times that if my fridge was deemed a lemon they would replace my fridge. Whirlpool owns Kitchen Aid, Amana and Jenn Air. I would steer clear of any products they offer unless you want to spend all your time with repair companies. My fridge was repairs 20 times in 5 years. Seriously? The quality is HORRIBLE and Whirlpool is laughing all the way to the bank. Don't waste your money on extended warranties if your goal (if the fridge is a lemon) is to get a new fridge. That WON'T happen.

I purchased from Lowes on 08/21/22 a Whirlpool Refrigerator model WRS571CIHZ. In January 2023 my food was freezing in the refrigerator, Whirlpool sent Flamingo Appliance Service, the first time here they said that nothing was wrong and they felt that the vents were blocked. I made sure that nothing was blocking the vent in the refrigerator and my food was still freezing in the refrigerator. I phoned Flamingo Appliance Service and they told me that they would be ordering 2 parts to replace on my refrigerator, when I phoned to see when they would be replacing the parts I was told that the parts were on back order and they had no idea when the parts would arrive.

I phoned Whirlpool about the back ordered parts and after many calls and no answer I contacted the Attorney Generals Senior Abuse hotline. (Please understand that my husband's diabetic medicine that costs $600.00 was freezing due to the parts that needed replacement.) Whirlpool did nothing to help me until they were contacted by the Senior Abuse department. Whirlpool found the parts and Flamingo Appliance Service came out a week later as they are short on staff. Whirlpool would not assign another company that works with them as Flamingo Appliance Service would be the only company they would allow under their manufacture warranty.

I now have a new problem today 04/26/23 with my refrigerator as the refrigerator is not cooling properly as everything today was warm. I just went shopping yesterday and paid over $200.00 for groceries that are spooling. I phoned Whirlpool today and they said that Flamingo Appliance Service was the only company they would allow and they would not be able to get anyone here until May 04, 2023. I phoned Flamingo Appliance Service and they confirmed that they do not have enough service people on staff and I would have to wait. I want my refrigerator replaced by Whirlpool with a new one or I want my full refund for what I paid and my lemon refrigerator taken out of my home. The only service Whirlpool provides is LIP SERVICE, DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT.

I bought the sleek Whirlpool for a remodel job. It was installed in September - October 2021. It started when my tenant was unable to keep his ice frozen. We finally had a service tech come out for $125 to advise me that the compressor is the issue. He said that about 3% of the Whirlpool Fridges experience this kind of slow death. The freezer became the fridge and I reached out to Whirlpool, sent pictures of the MFGR stamp, etc. They took my information and today I received a wonderful email from them. They said in the email how disappointed they were that I was NOT a satisfied customer. I asked why they would not want to at least send a service rep out to see why this unit did not last. They said No and they cannot service it as it was past their 12 month warranty. I basically rented the fridge for 15 months for around $49.50 per month. I cannot replace the compressor and make it worth the cost.

In 2021 we purchased a Whirlpool SxS Fridge mod #WRS312SNHM06 from Lowe's in Victoria B.C. We purchased extended warranty as well for peace of mind but we soon learned that has done nothing to help us deal with the awful noise maker we now have in our kitchen. We noticed a loud oscillating buzz coming from the fridge the first day it was delivered. So we called Lowes but they said we need to call the warranty people which took 3 weeks to have someone come and have a look.

I took a day off work without pay to meet a tech at our home. He checked the fridge and said the fridge sounded normal and tried to say because we have an older house fridges can sometimes make more noise. This to me, being a mechanic for over 35 years, sounded like pure **. I told him that there is something in the bottom of the fridge that is vibrating against something that shouldn't be. He just said we have perfecting good working fridge. It was obvious at this point that we had purchased an inferior quality Whirlpool product from Lowes. Since then, I have investigated the oscillating noise myself and discovered a flimsy drip tray at the bottom of the fridge was partially responsible for some of the racket. I managed to readjust it to lessen some of the noise but there is still something that vibrates that shouldn't be which makes the fridge very annoying to have to listen to.

We have since had the same service tech come out to replace a door light switch which fell apart one day. The tech installed a different switch which required him cutting a larger hole in the interior of the fridge and doesn't appear to fit properly but at least the light works. I told him that I had adjusted the drip tray at the bottom which was making some of the noise and he just looked at me with stunned eyes and couldn't say anything. I have considered that one day I will load the fridge in the back of my truck and park it in Lowes parking lot with a sign on the fridge saying beware of this. I hope this helps you have better luck with your next fridge purchase.
