Icemaker stopped functioning approximately 90 days after installation. Part is backordered nationally and no certainty of when available, ergo no ice. So far, more than 1 month dealing with repair. No update on possible part arrival.

Lasted 5 months when it stopped freezing, Took 8 days to get an appliance repair tech assigned, 15 days to get a repair date that was then delayed for weeks plus because to wait for parts. I gave the appliance repair a diagnosis and temperature data. Parts took almost 2 months and then the tech arrived and acted like he wasn't aware of any data. He messed around for 30 minutes and then said the compressor was out and they have had problems with this butane system. So why did I wait almost two months after I provided data and the tech didn't have a compressor that is a common failure point? I decided to give Whirlpool, an American company another chance after I replaced a pump in a new dishwasher two times in three years, and since then, a control board in a 4 year old microwave. As far as I can tell from my experience, Whirlpool sells crappy appliances and has crappy service.

When I tried to cancel the warranty Whirlpool charged me 197.21 to cancel. I would leave 0 stars if I could. Avoid at all costs and hire someone local. Stay away from Whirlpool warranties.

7 month old French door ref/freezer. Replaced the $ 80 water filter and the ice maker does not work. 4 or 5 phone calls, did everything they suggested with no luck. Told me there are no service techs "in my area" and offered $ 200 for labor to fix it on my own. Appliance repair guy said Whirlpool withholds information from anyone that isn't a "tech". I'm going to sell it, take the lose, buy something that I know can be repaired. $ 1,500 lesson learned.

Absolutely awful experience with Whirlpool. We received a brand new refrigerator on October 31, 2025, and it has never worked from day one. We've now been without a working fridge for five days - with a baby at home - and Whirlpool's customer service has been nothing short of horrible. Instead of fixing or replacing the defective fridge, we were told the model we received is suddenly "discontinued." Their "solution" was to offer a different model — but only if we pay the price difference out of pocket. On top of that, we were told we'd have to wait another two weeks for delivery.

When we voiced how unacceptable this is, the representative literally told us that "people have it worse." No apology, no accountability, no urgency. I would never recommend Whirlpool to anyone. For such a large company, their customer service is appalling and their handling of defective products is shameful. Buyers beware — they clearly don't stand behind their products or their customers.

The worst experience with a brand-new refrigerator! After only five days of being plugged in, it completely stopped working — the compressor failed. The most frustrating part is that the company took no responsibility for what is clearly a defective, “lemon” product. A representative from the warranty department told me there was a 10-year warranty, but that turned out to be a lie. They refused to help and said they would only send a technician, even though the fridge was brand new. Absolutely unacceptable. Avoid this company at all costs — they do not honor their warranty, take responsibility, or care about their customers.

My refrigerator model WRS321SDHZ13 was delivered on 10/1/25. I noticed it wasn't cooling and increased the level. Then I realized it had stopped cooling properly on 10/6 and called Home Depot which sent me to Whirlpool which sent a technician who came out on 10/8 and said it was the fan which he had to order. He was to return on Friday, but I receive a message from Flamingo telling me to reschedule. The soonest available was 10/14. I'm afraid running the refrigerator might cause more damage, but the 10/8 technician did not tell me to unplug it. I had to throw away the refrigerator contents and have been filling the freezer with ice to keep the basics cool. I complained to Home Depot thinking they should replace the refrigerator since it was less than a week old but was told it was in Whirlpool's hands.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator model # WRS555SIHZ from Metro Appliances and more on 9/3/2025. The fan is so loud you can hear it anywhere in the house and visitors have commented about it. After I contacted Metro about it, they replaced a fan motor which didn't help mush if any. The individual that replaced it said that was normal and he couldn't do anything with it. Then the first time I tried to get crushed ice it wouldn't dispense ice. I was told by Metro that Whirlpool would not let them replace it until I have three different issues and they would have to repair it. I've lost more money waiting more repair people than what I paid for the refrigerator in the first place.

We purchased a brand new house with a brand new whirlpool washer, dryer, microwave, refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. Within a year and a half we have had to replace both the washer and dryer (both just stopped working the washer was terrible to begin with and didn't clean well). Now, we have to replace the microwave because it no longer heats. The refrigerator randomly stopped making ice and we have had to replace the ice maker. The dishwasher doesn't work properly and is starting to rust. I am seriously afraid my stove is next to go, and due to it being gas I am afraid of the damage it could cause by malfunctioning. We are a family of 4 so we are not putting these appliances under a ton of stress or over usage.

In fact, we have barely used the microwave because we use our air fryer instead, and the microwave going out was the last straw for me. I will slowly but surely be replacing all whirlpool appliances with others not owned by the same company. Last years Christmas present to myself and husband was the new washer dryer set because we couldn't make it through Christmas without one. Please read the good and bad reviews before making a decision on an expensive appliance that want last you more than a year and a half.

Purchased a new refrig in Jan 2025. Bought the extended warranty and ice maker. Within a week, the ice maker leaked water on a brand new hardwood floor, ruining it. Asked the dealer to repair the ice maker and fix the floor. Tech said bad part on ice maker. Ordered new one, installed and works fine. Sent in the part the tech said was bad per warranty instructions. Had the floor repaired. After a year, Whirlpool said the part was good and so they would not reimburse for the floor repair, even with the extended warranty. Many emails, phone calls and frustration. Customer service was worthless. Robert Shaw was the extended warranty company. They were worthless. We are out almost a thousand dollars for the hardwood floor repair and never any help from Whirlpool or Robert Shaw. Would never buy another Whirlpool product or any warranty backed by Robert Shaw. Paid approximately $500 to have Whirlpool's contracted rep come to fix it. Could not fix; slow condenser leak. Whirlpool will not warrant it. Junk. Doors are cheap. Shelves and drawers are cheap. Total junk. Will not buy another Whirlpool product, ever. Also, sat on hold 4 or 5 times for over 30 minutes to even get ahold of a person. Ridiculous waste of time, money and energy. We purchased a model WRFF3136SZ from Nebraska Furniture Mart on 7/19/25. That particular fridge broke two weeks later due to leaking water. Received a replacement on 8/12/25. We came home after a 2 week vacation on 9/15 to find the control board went out causing the fridge to stop cooling. So over $500 worth of food was spoiled. Called Whirlpool and they sent a repair company out. They are now telling us that due to this being a new model, it is up to 6 weeks for a replacement part. I asked them to please take this fridge and do the right thing and provide a different model that isn't breaking every 30 days.

Whirlpool did nothing to help. They just say their warranty is a repair warranty and not a replace warranty and we are just out of luck and have to wait until a part can be found. They do not stand behind their product and do not do anything to do what is right. Once you have purchased it you are stuck with it no matter how bad the product is. So stay away from buying any Whirlpool refrigerator.

Numerous weeks had go with working refrigerator while Whirlpool replaced parts, only to break again, same issue. They replaced compressor 2 to 3 times finally in September. Decided to replace last breakage was reported on Aug. 19th. As of Sept. 9th been informed replacement approved will be 3 to 4 weeks to get a replacement delivered. So if have a warranty, expect Whirlpool to take months to make it right. They have cost me more in lost food, not to mention the extra cost of living out a cooler for months than refrigerator worth. We bought our first French door refrigerator in 2014 and we loved the features it offered and especially the space, but almost 6 years later it stops cooling gradually and food started to go bad. We tried to troubleshoot it ourselves and nothing worked. We were using a cooler in the meantime as we did some more research on solving the issue and also possibly buying a new, again. We finally came to a decision to replace it with another Whirlpool model and accepted the fact that maybe we just got unlucky with our first refrigerator. So, we got a similar model with French doors and we're loving it again.

We didn't love the price at all and we were dreading making another investment with a Whirlpool. At the time, it was the top recommended brand for a refrigerator. It has been a little over 5 years now and just 2 weeks ago, our second refrigerator starts to cool less and less until everything started going bad, again. You can imagine our extreme frustration. We researched and troubleshooted the issue, again. Nothing worked. This time I called Whirlpool customer service to see if we can get some assistance with repairs because I knew we were past our warranty. I asked the representative for a waiver or exception to policy so we didn't have to pay for the service repair since this was our second refrigerator from Whirlpool and they only lasted 6 and then 5 years.

I expressed my frustration and asked to speak to supervisor and I was told that a supervisor will call me back in 4 hours. The representative was very combative on the phone and impatient. Very displeased with their customer service and I can guarantee that this will be our last Whirlpool refrigerator. Most people don't have $4,000-$5,000 laying around to buy a new refrigerator. This is a huge investment for most families and to have it break down before it's time is just unbelievable.
