While products are good dont get cheated into taking an extended warranty. We paid $1000s for the extended service plan and the staff at Thermador are absolutely incompetent from reps to managers. They dont know how to write COIs and for any correction take months. They dont call back and it takes 30 mins on hold to reach their toll free number. Unbelievable unprofessional service for such expensive appliances.

Our range oven (RDF30RS) oven stopped heating, so since only 2013, we had the control panel repaired by auth repair co. The night the repair was completed, the stove stopped igniting (spark modulator failed?). Repair co said it was only coincidental, so after almost $500. to repair oven (which we assumed made sense given over $4,000. price), but we are now told that it is difficult to replace the spark modulator due to impossibility of removing stovetop (screws need to be bored out and replaced), so repair cost is almost $800. I called company to complaint that at least we should be able to replace the part, but due to the defective bolts assembly, it can't be done. No help, and then after she checked with supervisor twice, I was cut off.

Thermador / Bosch only support the newest models of their appliance, and have discontinued product support and parts for legacy ranges and appliances. I need something as simple as a knob for a range, and their customer service basically told me to search the internet to see if I can find something, because they do not support their product and cannot recommend a replacement. They went on to tell me that they have no responsibility after the product is purchased and that it would be best to spend $1500 on a new range. Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service and support! Will never buy their products again!

We bought all Thermador appliances when we remodeled our kitchen. The double ovens have been nothing but trouble. We have had to replace the ignitors twice on the small oven and twice on the large oven. When I tell you the larger oven may have been used 10 times in between replacements, I might be exaggerating. Thermador refuses to do anything. When you call they are happy to note your concern in the account and that is it! We should have gone with Wolf.

We bought this 36”, 6 burner stove new From a local appliance store. We have had multiple calls to have repairs made. 4 times for gas leaks, not a great experience, 4 different occasions. We have had to have two igniters replaced. I also had to have some control unit replaced after a pot boiled over and shorted out this element. That cost us $849. Now with the oven never heating to the desired temperature, and servicemen saying there is nothing they could do, the oven just won’t work at all. The parts to repair it are$2650 without the service call and installation. We paid over $5,000 for this piece of crap. After contacting Thermador, they offered me $ 200 off on parts. A range is suppose to turn on heat up and bake, cook as needed. What a waste of money and terrible customer service! Don’t buy one!

We built a new home in 2015 and installed a complete kitchen from Thermador. The range had problems immediately but the service department responded and it has not been a problem. The microwave failed after less than 5 years and there is no replacement that will work with the built in oven combo. Numerous calls, service visits and still the microwave does not work. I am punting and buying a Bosch.

I purchased a high-end Thermador built in double oven. In total, this appliance was used less than 60 times. The oven would shut off and start beeping-- you would have to turn off main breaker and cross your fingers to restart it. I have had numerous people try to fix it-- to no avail. We live on Maui and the nobody wants to work on Thermadors or our piece of junk Viking refrigerator. We will save our money and buy our appliances at Sears or Lowe's. Save your money.

This oven has malfunctioned since the day it was installed. It doesn’t heat to the right temperature, it doesn’t maintain the right temperature and nothing ever cooks inside. When using the top oven simultaneously with the bottom oven, the bottom oven automatically cools down. It was finally replaced with a new one and the new one does the same thing. I am going to take the $8,500 loss, and buy a new oven. Also, I would steer clear of Thermador refrigerators as well. They are very poorly designed!

These stoves are expensive. They’re supposed to work. There is supposed to be rapid customer service. The griddle is calibrated on both sides. It’s not. The stove goes up to high temps or can’t keep the temp. The range and wall ovens reset. It is supposed to be a motherboard issue. I’m very frustrated as we can’t cook. Family of six and we can’t cook. The stove turn off in the middle of the bake or resets or can’t keep the temp. If it does t lock up and you can’t open the door.

Don't buy Thermador ranges. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND A LOT OF IT. We've had the ProGrand garbage for 1 year. Excluding previous problems, the most recent is the oven lights no longer function. Called Thermador for assistance. They stated that while still under warranty, the oven bulbs (2 of them) are a routine consumer maintenance issue and a tech would not be assigned. So, I spent $40 for a bulb. Despite I specified that no lights function in the oven, Thermador sent me only 1 light. With much difficulty, I replaced the defective bulb in the lower right of the oven. Powered the oven back up, AND NOTHING. Removed the new bulb and placed it into the upper left socket. After powering back up, AND NOTHING.
Frankly, I've never had to replace an oven bulb in a 10 year old oven, you know, the far cheaper commonly found brand names of Kenmore, Amana, Frigidaire or other LOW END ovens. But for $10,000 you can buy a Pro Grand and have all kinds of fun calling for support, technicians, and an oven that is pure, bonafide garbage. Get this, in preheating mode, the oven will on occasion never reach set point. Rebooting the power supply seems to help. The racks are a dream too. They are extremely difficult to interchange to a new height setting. And they DON'T CARE.
On a prior occasion speaking with Thermador support, I asked if I could convey my dissatisfaction with their quality group. Specifically, they have some serious quality control issues. I was told that was not possible. This oven, and the lack of Thermador's concern is all the reason a consumer needs to know that this product is garbage and very expensive at that, relatively to conventional offerings. STAY AWAY, DON'T BUY A THERMADOR OVEN.

Thermador -Unless you enjoying seeing F-34 codes on the panel, do not buy! Their products are suppose to be a higher end brand of appliances and the cost goes right along with that. I have a Thermador built in double wall oven. I cannot tell you how many control panels I have had replaced at $486 each plus labor! Tack on the relay and touch panel replacements, I've clearly spent more on the repairs than the outrageously priced oven. I had an authorized Thermador service company here. After following the advice of THERMADOR tech. (who was on speaker phone,) they decided to replace the control panel. That was done but it did not fix the problem. So now trying a display panel BUT once an electronic part is opened it cannot be returned. So $486 down the drain. When panel was connected something happened with electric and everything went out. Now they say I need relay, control and display! NO THANK YOU!!
I have never written a negative comment on any appliance before and probably would not have bothered with this, but the poor customer service was worse than the actual horrible oven. When I called customer service, I can tell that she was not interested in what I had to say. All service call copies were emailed to the email address given with a case number she gave me. I followed up 3 days later and of course they said customer service gave me the wrong email address. Back to square 1. No working oven, in the middle of a pandemic with a family of 6 and only a cooktop and microwave. Thank goodness my cooktop is a Viking. Never had a service call on it. I am purchasing a new wall oven. I would love to drop this off at Thermador's doorstep. Purchasing a new oven. Needless to say it will not be a Thermador.

When we renovated our kitchen a few years back, we bought a Thermador Range and Hood. About 3 years down the line, two burners stopped working. The Thermador recommended repair service was able to repair it once. It went bad again after a year and now nobody can repair it. They keep telling us the parts are not available. Same is the case with hood, the panel with the start and stop buttons has stopped working and no one can repair it. Just keep paying these servicemen over and over again. I will never buy a Thermador product again. Too expensive and stops working too quickly. Price does not match product. Dissatisfied Customer.

The thermostat has never worked properly. If it was set for 350degrees it would always be 35 to 50 degrees less. I have had the repair service and they always replace the thermostat. This worked for a while only to revert back to the same problem. The last time I had service my contract had run out so I paid for the service and the part out of pocket. It was then the repairman told me there was a recall on another problem which the previous service people never told me. And never fixed while I had a service contract. Now I am experiencing the same trouble with the thermostat, I set the temperature to 375 and when I did a reset after baking for awhile the temperature was only 305 degrees. So my food is not cooking and I am at a loss for words as to why this is happening every 10 to 12 months.

We just replaced a 15 year old Thermador Professional gas range and oven with a new 36” Thermador Professional 366 range and oven. About $10,000 invested with installation. Most disappointed on delivery to find new oven door quite dirty in between the glass windows. Also oven temperature about 60-70 degrees hotter than the dial setting. The worst, however, is that a new oven rack that was soaked in water for about 6-7 hours to remove some baked on cheese has started to rust. Obviously there is no quality control at factory and cheap materials are used for components. We have had two Wolf range/ovens and have been most happy with them. I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a top of line range/oven forget about the Thermador line.

We remodeled our kitchen before moving into our, new to us, but older home, back in 2014. When it was time to choose appliances, I was extremely excited, being a baker especially wanting to enjoy our new oven. The existing gas stove in the home was a Thermador so I thought I would get the same brand for the oven. The salesman wasn't very helpful so I just chose the double convection oven. Surprisingly, the convection aspect was not useful in controlling odors emanating from the oven, as I was told it would.
Recently, the control panel went out, affecting many functions of the oven, the main one being only ONE oven would turn on at a time. The repair person explained the two year warranty and although this was a very expensive repair; upwards of $600, Thermador would not reimburse me for that reason. The oven also heats food is quite unevenly. Additionally we paid for the upgraded glider shelves, which do not glide appropriately. Then I discovered part of the shelf is bent, which explains the poor function, yet also indicates poor quality control. Overall, I am not impressed with this brand and would not recommend them.

Extremely negative experience with customer service/product support. I requested replacement parts for my Thermador grates (rubber pads underneath the cooking grates). No can do! You have to purchase the entire grate assembly at a cost of approx. $250.00 each! Interesting you can purchase them for their newer Thermador models but not mine. The grate rubber pads are removable and can be easily replaced at minimum cost. I will take my business elsewhere where customers are treated better and stand by their products. They have lost touch with their bottom-line, the customer!

We recently purchased a new Thermador oven Model MSD301WS/01. The user interface is horrible as it uses a display panel that is located about 2 feet off of the floor and requires you to swipe the menu options (like a smartphone) to make your selections. I literally have to kneel down on the floor to read the display and the text swipes so quickly that I have to carefully swipe word by word to find what I want to do. I never thought that turning on an oven to bake something would be so difficult and uncomfortable!
The oven comes with WiFi capability that is impossible to connect to your router. It is so bad (not even sure if it works) that there are 3 places you have to get instructions to try and connect it - the user manual, a special home connect instruction pamphlet, and the app you have to install on your smartphone. After spending several hours trying to connect to my router (I come from the IT industry) I finally called customer support. We spent almost an hour trying to get it connected while he gave me step by step instructions from 2 different instruction sources. We could never get it connected so we decided I need a service call. He told me that if the problem is due to connectivity from my router then I would have to pay for the service call. My router works fine but I think that this is really poor customer service! I discourage anyone looking at new ovens to buy this one. I will probably send mine back.

We have repeated failures of the blower motors on our oven. If the oven senses that either fan isn't spinning at nominal speed, the oven shuts down. It's a $500 bill every time one of the motors goes out ($300 service plus $200 for the part). The first went out barely a year after we bought the oven. The next went out later the same year. Barely a year later and one of the replacements is failing. Replacing the fan involves pulling the oven from the wall, no easy feat for the do-it-yourselfer.
Note that sometimes a reset will work, at least temporarily. Thermador doesn't make the reset easy. You have to cut off power at the circuit breakers, turn power back on, then do the programming for date and time. Very frustrating if you have to do this several times hoping that fan will spin a bit faster on the next go around.

I have to say that I purchased this range with great expectations thinking that Thermador had such a wonderful reputation; however, I am extremely disappointed in the performance of the larger oven. We had a small dinner party catered, and it would not hold the heat to finish preparing the dinner on her large sheet pans. I've had problems with the lights not working intermittently, so I decided to replace the bulbs (which the manual states is a DIY maintenance item). This is not a DIY job because you have to crawl into the oven to reach them (there are 2 of them in the larger oven), and in order to do it properly, you pretty much have to remove the oven door. Suffice it to say that I now have to call a repairman to put the door back on. The first and only time I tried to clean the oven. The amperage on the circuit is exactly that specified by Thermador.

Installed new Thermador range and hood when kitchen was remodeled in 2013. Oven in range has needed new igniters twice, at $450 parts and labor each time. Now it needs new oven door hinges -- fortunately an aftermarket company makes replacement parts for this range because Thermador does not! After just 5 years?
Two weeks ago the fan in the hood started making squealing/chattering sounds -- clearly the bearings are dry. I've read about how Chinese manufacturers are using crummy lubricants on motor shafts, the lube dries out in a few years and the motor becomes junk. I wonder if that's what happened to ours. American made motors used to last 30 years. The design of this hood is horrible -- to get the fan out almost the entire hood must be disassembled! No plugs are used, as you can see in the picture everything is cabled together so the control box must be disassembled first. It is as if Thermador wanted to drive up the cost of service to the point that the owner opts to just buy a new one.
Does Thermador think their customers are all morons? Who would buy a second Thermador product after having owned a first one?? Our service tech is a good guy, he apologized, but has to charge $500 labor alone to tear it apart and reassemble with new fan. Save yourself the grief and the money -- stay away from Thermador! I'll quote a spot-on comment by another reviewer in this thread: "Never, ever buy Thermador. Their products are astronomically-priced trash, their support is nonexistent, and their replacement part costs are straight out of the Porsche parts-pricing school. Live and learn."

We purchased a Thermador Pro Harmony 36" range in 2010 and have been disappointed with it ever since. It was purchased as part of a kitchen remodel package and all 3 Thermador appliances purchased have been replaced over the 7 years we had them, except our oven which only performs sporadically. The griddle stopped working after a year, the circuit board has been replaced, the burner ignitors have been replaced, the broiler function no longer works and the oven door hinges no longer work to keep the door shut. We literally have to push a stool up against the door when we use the oven to keep the door closed. Thermador says they no longer make hinges since the oven is discontinued. And, they couldn't even provide me the name of a parts company to order new hinges. Apparently the hinges are no longer available, anywhere! They are worthless! DO NOT BUY THERMADOR!

The ovens in my 48" Thermador Range are garbage. For years I have had problems with the larger oven not heating to the proper temperature (getting up to 250 degrees regardless of where the temperature is set). The motherboard had to be replaced but it still hasn't worked properly. It's hit or miss when I turn it on to see if it will get past 250 degrees. Recently the smaller oven went out completely. Over eight hundred dollars in repairs later, the small oven now acts like the large oven and it is hit or miss to see if it will get up to the proper temperature. It seems to work better if I turn the larger oven on at the same time. It's absolutely unacceptable that there are so many complaints with this company. I will NEVER again purchase anything from Thermador. Now my dilemma is whether to continue to invest money in repairs or just chuck the whole thing and go with another brand. It makes me sick to think about it.

We paid entirely for parts and labor after the 3rd failure. Now, it has failed again. Thermador Customer Service is unwilling to do anything about it; and to top it off, they tell me the relay board is no longer available. All they would do is give me the name of a company that "might" rebuild the board. No help as to who might remove and replace it for us, nor any support to get a new one. The oven won't operate properly - again. Their customer service associate was rude and arrogant. We own several Thermador, Bosch and Gaggenau products. NEVER AGAIN! I was sitting in my kitchen in March, when I heard a loud explosion... It was very scary. I did not know where the sound had come from. Later, when I opened my Thermador oven as it was on the Cleaning Cycle, the entire inside glass was broken in large cracks. When I opened the door, little powder flakes went on the floor. When I cleaned the floor, little pieces came into my skin. No blood or anything, it felt like slivers in the skin. They worked out in a week. So no serious damage, just hurt and bothered me. I don't think any oven glass should break. It was a very expensive downdraft in the counter island type stove. I consider it a serious safety issue. I called Abt to let them know what happened, I was referred to Thermador and it took many calls back and forth.
I offered to send them photos of the damaged oven. But, they wanted a repairman to come. So, I lost time waiting and having a man come to say, "Yes. It is broken glass." A repair man came out for no charge from Abt paid for by Thermador. Abt repairman said it was a thermo blast and not uncommon. Later Abt said they would submit a claim to Thermador. The door and glass were not available any longer and no other contact was made. I waited several weeks, called back regarding the claim and was told by Abt that Thermador was doing nothing. End of Story. Abt said that Thermador said my stove was too old. It was 20 years old. I understand things do not last forever, however, should glass explode for no reason and their product should last as long as it is maintained and cared for correctly, which it was.
I was surprised that Thermador did not write me a postcard or email or call to say that they didn't care what happened... Too bad. But instead, they took no responsibility for their oven exploding. Never ever said, "Oh sorry", just really indifferent. I am writing as I do not think that Thermador stands behind their product. This stove of mine had every bell and whistle and was supposed to be top of the line. I was surprised that I was not offered a small discount on a new stove, or even an apology letter. Their customer service is definitely not very good to their customers and they do not stand up for service or care to the consumer. Thank you for your time and I appreciate it if others were made aware of Thermador's lack of customer service and that also to expect a glass explosion in the oven without warning. Watch out when baking if small children are nearby.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Can be a little pricey though. It is invaluable! Easy to use, and very modern... compared to the other prices and what is out there it is definitely number one. I love this product. Feels premium and makes me happy to show it off. Nobody I knows has it. Could be a tad bigger because I like bigger items but it is totally fine and I am proud to have this product in my house.

My appliance runs very, very well! I have had very few problems since I bought it about 3 years ago. It runs basically like it is brand new! The value on the appliances is fantastic! You get more than what you really pay for, and for how long the product lasts it is absolutely fantastic! The appearance of the appliance is great. It is an appliance and not a decorative item, but it doesn't have that clunky machine look. It's sleek and unnoticeable. The size is just perfect! I don't think it is too big or too small. It is just the right size that it doesn't take up too much room in my house.

The product works as expected. I have not had any issues or problems with the product since purchase. It's easy to use and operate, and has all the features you need in a range. It simple to use and efficient. I am extremely happy with the overall value. I was able to purchase at an amazing price. I actually spent less than I had budgeted for, which made me very happy. It looks great, works great. I am extremely happy with the appearance of the product. Considering I was able to get it at an amazing price, it still looks modern and stylish. It looks a lot more expensive than it actually was and it matches my other appliances, and looks awesome in my kitchen. The size of the range is perfect. Big enough that I can fit larger items in the stove and cook multiple sides on the range top. But it's not so bulky that it looks obnoxious. It fits perfectly in the designated area.

The product is a great design and is a perfect size, and a perfect fit for my family's kitchen. It is just the right size. It is not too big but it's not too small either. It doesn't take up too much room in the kitchen either.
