I purchased a 36" Thermador gas range because I expected premium quality and performance. Unfortunately, this has been the worst range I've ever owned, especially considering the price. Flame Control: The burner flame control is poorly designed. The markings on the knobs are essentially meaningless because approximately 95% of the usable flame adjustment occurs within only a few degrees of knob rotation. The burners go from very high heat to a low simmer almost instantly, making it extremely difficult to set a consistent medium flame—the setting I use for most of my cooking.
Ignition Problems: After a relatively short period of ownership, the igniters began randomly clicking even when all of the burner knobs were in the OFF position. The problem becomes worse after certain burners have been used and are still hot. I have a technical background and have spent considerable time troubleshooting the issue. I have cleaned the igniters, checked grounding, inspected the burners, and followed the common repair recommendations found in service videos and owner forums. None of these steps solved the problem.
Poor Build Quality: For a premium appliance, the overall construction has been disappointing. Several sheet-metal screws have stripped out because they no longer hold in the thin metal, making routine maintenance more difficult. The cooling fan is surprisingly loud while the oven is operating and continues running for a long time after the oven is turned off. The burner design allows spills to reach internal components instead of containing them. Cleaning is unnecessarily difficult because the burner trays cannot be removed without first removing screws from the burners. Over time these screws are exposed to heat and moisture, increasing the risk of corrosion and stripped screw heads.
Overall Impression: Before this range, I owned a basic Kenmore gas range that cost a fraction of the price. In day-to-day use, it was more reliable, easier to clean, quieter, and offered much better flame control. I simply expected much better engineering and durability from a premium brand like Thermador. Instead, I've experienced poor usability, questionable design decisions, and build quality that doesn't justify the premium price. Based on my experience, I would not purchase another Thermador appliance and cannot recommend this range to anyone looking for a high-end gas stove.

We purchased a double wall oven P0302W06,installed 9/25/25. $10,000. 4 service calls, 10-24-25 & 12-2-25 meat probe not working; 5-6-25 uneven heating, cakes ruined, advice just use convection. 7-20-26 called re glass door developed bad stains in the past month, almost etched, Stains cannot be removed; service man came out and said that glass was not under warranty and the charge would be $350. He did not charge but he did not try to take off stains but just said get a scrapper with a razor blade.
No broiler pan and when advised sent one with one half of grilled top as that is all this oven required (as stated to me). The edge of the half grill is razor sharp which I reported as a danger. No response. This was a bad, expensive decision. T. you have lost your glitter in the market. P.S. The vendor sent what I consider a mediation appliance repair firm, on 5/13/25 who opined that the stove was just running hot. My experience is that it was running hot on one side.

We bought a 48" professional range to replace our previous Thermador. The new one is a lemon. It produces too high a flame and the stove is therefore too hot, unable to lower to a simmer once a boil has been reached, and ruins food, burns pans, and creates a very dangerous situation for me, the cook. We have tried three different service people, and no one can fix the problem (one was hired by Thermador). The customer service has been horrible. I have been dealing with them for 4 months, and still no answers; they never call me back. I have even written to the President and received no answer to a certified letter. Do not buy this brand. It has taken the joy out of cooking for me.

Have a Thermador oven/stove range and the right burner always clicks after turning off. Too expensive to get anyone out here and I think I am out of the warranty period of course. Just don't use that burner anymore. Of course when guest are here cooking they always turn the right one on and say what a crappy stove I have. That's not very nice to hear. Such a bummer. And my glass on the oven below! Such a bummer on that! Apparently I have to have a repair guy out to clean the glass IN BETWEEN because you have to take off the entire door. So inefficient. So when the sun comes in the kitchen, the oven really is spotless but it is dirty because in between the glass it is dirty. I would NEVER buy Thermador ever again. I would definitely buy Wolfe or someone else.

Would NEVER buy a Thermador product again. Neither the oven nor microwave worked from the beginning. The installer’s response was “read the manual”. It’ll be two weeks before Thermador can get a technician to us to make our appliances work. Thermador’s good reputation is unjustified.

I rarely post negative experiences online, but after more than three months of dealing with a broken oven from Thermador, I feel compelled to share. We invested over $5,000 in what is marketed as a premium appliance, expecting both quality and the kind of customer support that comes with a luxury brand. Unfortunately, the experience since the oven stopped working has been the exact opposite. For more than three months, our oven has been unusable. During that time:
- Replacement parts have arrived defective, requiring the entire process to start again.
- We’ve spent countless hours coordinating appointments, waiting for service, and trying to get clear answers.
Despite all of this, there has been no meaningful resolution. Today, after months without a working appliance and repeated service failures, the company offered $125 to “resolve the issue.” On a $5,000+ appliance. At this point, the most disappointing part isn’t just the broken oven—it’s the experience of being treated as though the time, inconvenience, and frustration of the customer simply don’t matter. The entire process has been disheartening, exhausting, and frankly exploitative. Do not trust this brand.

I bought a Thermador combination microwave & wall from AJ Madison and deeply regret spending over $5k on the double appliance. The microwave broke exactly 4 years after I purchased it. It broke in late November 2025 and I have been waiting for Thermador to resolve the issue since then. I had previously purchased a warranty which has not resulted in receiving any service. Multiple appts cancelled by Thermador, a tech came out and said a part was on a backorder, etc. Very poor communication by Thermador and I'm now 3+ months without a working microwave. For the price I paid, I expected both quality and service and I received neither. Extremely frustrating. DO NOT BUY THERMADOR.

We built a new home, put all Thermador kitchen appliances in. Within the 1st 30 days we attempted to use the small gas oven and it didn't work. We called Thermador. They put out a repair order, repair company has been out 3 times trying to fix it. The last time they worked with Thermadors Engineers to re-wire the entire wiring system. It was determined it's nonfixable. A report was sent Cronin the repair company stating it's nonfixable. We can't get anyone at Themador to help resolve this issue. You never get the same person when you call, they all work from home. When we ask for copies of reports, they aren't allowed to give them to us. When we ask to speak to a higher up, apparently that's not allowed either. It's been 7 months that we started this process with absolutely no help given.

I had Thermador ovens in a previous house and was satisfied with them. So I didn't hesitate to buy this one. It's a single oven, model ME301YP purchased in 2023. I moved into my newly remodeled home in 2024. I make a lot of baked goods -- cookies, pies, a few cakes...you get the idea. When my first batch of cookies were consistently underbaked no matter what I did I had the technician out. Turns out you have to read two solid pages of directions on HOW and WHERE to place your baking sheets on which racks. But that's not all. I use an oven thermometer and complained to the tech that my oven was still registering too low a temp. He said that the temp will fluctuate during cooking and maybe my thermometer was off. Nope. It's not. After reading the directions on "how to bake" my baked goods (I've only been baking for 55 years) I had better results, but still not great.
Another call to customer service and the technician, since my warranty is only good for a year I think. He assures me my oven is totally fine, but did check to see that my auto convection conversion is activated (who knew), which it was. Well here it is Christmas 2025 and I have to do a large batch of baking so I duly read the section on convection bake -- yes there are TWO convection modes -- "bake" and "true" convection-- to refresh myself because the stuff I'm making is not cheap. In go my two baking sheets on "convection bake" with the product on them. ONCE AGAIN MY PRODUCT IS UNDERBAKED. WHAT. THE. HELL. If I can't trust a convection oven after reading the manual what can I trust?
I will NEVER buy a Thermador oven again. This $5000 oven was a total waste of my money and I cannot trust it do the job consistently. People buy my baked products and I cannot afford an untrustworthy, expensive appliance. And Thermador is the "high end" of the range. Do yourself a favor and if you want to buy from this company buy Bosch brand. More reliable and cheaper. Or go with GE. Easier to find a repair person and probably cheaper. By the way earlier this year I bought a Ninja countertop toaster/oven for about $150. It does a better and more consistent job on my small batch baked goods than my $5000 oven. Go figure.

Bought a Thermador 48'' gas range and honestly I could not be more disappointed. It is very difficult to clean, too many nooks and crannies that should be seamless. I have owned other gas units that have seamless designs making wiping it down effortless, Thermador missed the mark on this. Also, it's LOUD, the cool down fan from the oven runs for 60 min after I shut if off and it's just unpleasant to be near. Actually I'm sitting in our living room as I write this and it just shut off. My ears are literally ringing from the background noise. We spend nearly $14,000 on that single appliance and I urge any other buyers to just run! Run away and buy something else. I forgot to mention the free dishwasher they threw in as a "deal" for purchasing the range. Buy a Bosch or anything else for that matter. I will never own another Thermador appliance, solid piece of poop wrapped in a very expensive label.

I recently got an error code of 005 on my oven which is 6 years old. The info display on the oven screen advised me to call the Thermador Customer Service. The customer service Rep advised me she could not identify what the code is and told me I needed a Technician to come out. The cost would be $185.00 plus some other type of charge for time. I asked why the crazy price and was told this is the only option. I asked her to investigate the code further and she came back and said I would have to remove the panel and check for loose connections on the control panel. This made no sense to me so while I waited I did a simple reboot (turned the breaker off for one minute then turned it back on). This repaired the problem.
I would have spent ~$200.00 if I would have listened to the Thermador advise. I have to wonder if this is a racket to generate revenue. This appliance is supposed to be top of the line with a top of the line price tag. It should last more than 6 years. My GE Profile in my other home was 1/3 of the cost and has been going strong for 12 years. Very disappointed in Thermador quality and troubleshooting.

We purchased a Thermador 48" range less than seven years ago, and it has been nothing but problems from day one. In that time, we’ve had to service the unit no fewer than five times—for burners, doors, the gasket, and even the motherboard. Even when parts were replaced, they only worked for a short while before failing again. Now the oven is completely non-functional. It doesn’t hold temperature, shuts off mid-use, and has ruined countless meals. The burners are unreliable, flames often don’t light, and the igniters randomly click even when the oven isn’t on. To make matters worse, several attempts to reach out to Thermador’s customer service team have gone completely unanswered. What kind of “premium” brand ignores its customers?
We chose Thermador believing we were paying for quality, but what we’ve received is an unreliable lemon with zero support. Requests for a replacement have been denied, and now even basic communication is nonexistent. As the owner of a construction company for over 18 years, I’ve recommended Thermador to many high-end clients—but after this experience, I can no longer recommend the brand. For the price and reputation, the quality and service have been extremely disappointing.

These ovens just stopped working in May 2025. They were installed in March 2023. I called the store that I bought them from and they said, "Did you take the extended warranty." I said, "I have never had any problems with double ovens. Didn’t think I needed it." The head of the appliance department said unfortunately they don’t make things like they used to. Unbelievable, poor excuse. So they gave me a guy's phone number that they use to fix them, said that I would have to pay, of course.
He didn’t know how to fix them, he charged me $950.00 to replace the board and $230.00 trip fee. Guaranteed this would work, nope didn’t work... Then he said he would order a control panel for $411.27 and guess what, you guessed it, didn’t work, I refused to pay him. So he said that he was going to order another one, never did.
I called the store again and told them that they sent me someone that didn’t know what he was doing. They then gave me another number of a company that actually works on Thermador appliances. They have been here at least 3 times now, nothing works yet. But they finally admitted that this has been a problem and I was not the only one. They are going to bring some other boards and a control panel that are in sync and reprogram them. They said if I could get the first guy to bring back the original set, that would save me money. Anyway, that’s my story.

We purchased a Thermador Masterpiece Double oven with right-handle swing door in February 2025. Model MED302LWS. It has performed flawlessly. Has performed 2 software updates. The swing doors are the reason we picked this particular model. Effortless to access both ovens without leaning over a hot wind down door like our old 27-year-old Dacor. We like the display; it is easy and intuitive to use. Sleek and modern looking without knobs. The performance has been spot on and the temps match a separate thermometer. Smooth, easy to adjust roller brackets. 3 per oven, 6 total for baking multiple sheets. We use this almost every day as we make our own bread and scratch prepare everything else.
When heated up the oven does energize a cooling fan that exhausts the width of the oven just below the control panel. You can hear it but it is soft and unobtrusive. Frankly, we forget it is on especially if you are steps out of the kitchen. The lighting is bright and makes it easy to see both ovens. You cannot illuminate one oven at a time; both come on. Doors are solid and make a firm closure. Nice to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit easily.

We bought a Thermador 48" range with our home in 2017. At the time, it cost us about $15000 and the same model today is closer to $20000. You would think that it is high quality, something the kids will fight over, once we are gone. Nope. It failed. Steam oven would shut down after sitting at temperature for a few minutes. We called Thermador and they told me to just call a technician to come out because there was nothing they could help me with over the phone. So I did... a local appliance repair shop that advertised they worked on this brand.
After replacing three boards and a $1400 bill they told me there was nothing more they could do. THey turned it over to Thermador who sent their own technician out. He quickly found the main board was burned (internal board component failures). Another $1200 for that board and its replacement. When that showed up, he told me that the software was corrupted because the other repair company did something wrong. I called his bluff and told him I thought there was a compatibility issue between the new board he wanted to install and the other two additional boards he wanted to replace -- his bill was going from $1200 to $2100. He pulled out the main board and promised to bring it back when he returned with the other two boards. When he did, the whole stove quit working consistently.
Okay fast forward to now. He returned with the three boards (told us that the two additional boards were hard to get - so he bought them from a "mom and pop" store). He wanted me to sign an agreement that as they continued to shot gun repair our stove that we would pay for all labor and parts as they went.... and if they got to the point where there were obsolete parts and they could not go any further, we were stuck with all of the costs to that point and a dead stove.
The repair tech told me that he himself would not sign such an agreement.... And I did not sign it. He took his boards and left. I ended up only paying just under $400 for his labor - did not pay for any of the boards that were not installed. The stove is dead, shut off at the electrical panel since it has internal malfunctions. Call today from Bosch/Thermador person who informed us they could not do anything more for us and were closing our case. Basically, we are out of luck and now have a $15000 boat anchor that would cost us $20000 to replace if we bought the same model. We decided to not throw good money after bad and are ordering a replacement from one of their competitors.
Oh, all the time this was going on Thermador kept asking us for proof of ownership. I sent them copies of various documents from our closing statements, copies of our appliance selections when the home was built, certificate of occupancy. It was never enough. It sounded like they would not have been willing to do anything for us (nothing was ever promised).

It was frustrating, especially considering the investment that was made. I had imagined this stove would last much longer and maintain its performance, but that hasn’t been the case. If you’re considering a Thermador, I suggest weighing your options carefully. For the price you pay, you should expect durability and superior quality, and sadly, that’s not what I received. We have contacted the local appliance company 11 times and Thermador three times including an e-mail that no one ever answered. The local appliance company has been helpful but they are as frustrated as are we. We are still without the use of our oven and Bosch/Thermador simply refuses to communicate - at all. I have filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General for the fraudulent sale of a warranty that has not been honored. Bottom line - do not buy a Bosch/Thermador appliance. The appliances are extremely expensive and look nice - but the company that makes them simply will not stand behind its products.

I couldn't be more disappointed with this range! The oven bakes unevenly no matter what we attempt. The flames on the range leave burn marks on the sides of even our largest pot, wasting so much heat around the edges instead of heating the bottom of the pot. There's really no "low" temp - everything is at a rolling boil on low, and XLO is only so-so (but makes a really loud noise when it relights). It's very difficult to tell the difference between medium, medium high, medium low on the burners - the flame basically doesn't move for a while, then for a few millimeters turning the dial the flame gets bigger, and then you're at HIGH. A tech told us it's nearly impossible to recalibrate as well, which will need to be done when one of the many circuit boards has a problem... Overall I feel like this range was designed to look beautiful, but it's not efficient for families nor does it bake well.

I purchased a package of appliances for $20,000.00 and waited for three months for the range. The range was delivered and it has never worked correctly. It took me two months to resolve that the oven does not work property. It has taken a month to get them to agree to replace it and now they are working on finding a company that will agree to replace it. This has been the most frustrating experience and now going on five months without a range. I thought I did research but not enough. Thermador makes it very difficult to do business with them. There is no transparency as I have been trying to reach out to a officer of the company with no luck. I understand why they don't post their names or numbers. Terrible customer service. I strongly recommend that you do not buy their products.

Buyer beware. Bought a new micro/oven combination and it stopped working in 3 months. Please be advised that it takes Thermador more than a week (They advised up to 72 hours) for a call back before scheduling a repair. Totally unacceptable.

Dear Reader: I bought a new Thermador 5 burner gas range for a renovation that was completed in March of 2023. I started complaining almost immediately as I found the oven temp would take 30-40 min to get to a desired 450 temperature for cooking bread. But would not hold the high heat. The best I would get would be 350. On Thanksgiving of the same year, the oven, including 3 of the burners were suddently dead. I spent countless hours with different technicians trying to find out and repair the problem. That never happened and finally Thermador decided that the range was irrepairable. Now, you would think that Thermador would step in right away and right this. Nope! I had to wait another week for them to give the OK to this file at which time they contacted the company I bought the range from, not me and that turned out to be another horror show. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
All contact with the customer is done through a 3rd party (repair and sales). No receipts and no correspondence. I Tried to talk directly with Thermador and although they would assure me that they would open a file on my complaints, time and time again, they would lose my file. If you do get into any trouble with Thermador, call them daily. In the end it was the only way I could keep them on track.
Also, hold the company and the salesman that you bought the appliance from, accountable. A different company but they should be there for you if there are problems. Unfortunately, I found my local appliance sales company's customer service proved to be just as poor. It was just a few weeks before Xmas that this all came to an end. Thermador credited my purchase back to the appliance company I bought it from. I purchased a different gas range that was not a Thermador and 2 months from when this all started, it came to an end. Yours regretfully.
