My only interest is to praise and give compliments to businesses that are honest, hardworking and provide a good service. I rarely give negative feedback, however, I had to provide feedback on this company. My experience with Solomon & Sons relocation was nothing but unpleasant and horrendous. First, the quote I received from Zach Levine stated that my move was going to be $2500 and that my move was promised to be taken on May 24th, to have my stuff in Austin the last week of May 2024. Based on this information and the Google Reviews, I decided to hire them as they seemed to be a quality company.
Three days before the pickup date I got a call, and this is where everything started going downhill. In this call, they let me know about every extra fee I would be facing once they pick up my stuff. Also, they let me know of a delivery day change. Be aware they will charge you for every extra item the salesperson did not include in the quote. Such a nightstand that are part of a regular bedroom. They will charge you extra and call it a "long carry" if you do not live next to the elevator in your apartment complex.
The movers were on time and were pleasant, quick and effective. But they will write on your inventory in acronyms that you in the rush of a move, dismiss. My items were marked as "scratched" "all over" (see inventory pics and see my Items for comparison purposes.) My items were flawless, like new. At this point you are already stuck with them, and you really have no choice than to pay $150 each way for the "long carry". I got asked when I was available to receive my items, the"earliest delivery date," which I responded May 26th, my arrival to Austin. Lakeisha Bentley called me to let me know that from that day I stated I was able to receive my stuff, they can take up to 15 Business days to deliver. Again, not what they promised when I signed the contract.
Lakeisha was extremely rude, dismissive and had the courage to yelled at me over the phone as I tried to explain that was not what I was initially promised. She was not concerned or seemed to care and said that is what we have in the contract. I received a call from them on Monday, June 3rd, confirming my move was planned to be delivered on June 8th. (15 days after they picked my items) I got to know my move was actually placed on delivery, that day June 3rd. Essentially my items were in a warehouse for 10 days.
After I have been lied multiple times, charged almost $1,000 in extra fees that they never disclosed during the quote stage, and being yelled on the phone and having to spend extra money on all the inconveniences they caused. I received my items in terrible condition and a broken couch. Attaching pictures to reference the status of the boxes and my items. 4.5 stars? I cannot give 1 to this company. I decided to go to other sources, and I found out the reviews that I can relate to. ** Feel free to dig deeper, review other sources and see how bad and DISHONEST this company is.

After a six-month dispute for reimbursement for their misrepresentation and unimaginable delivery service to take accountability for an erratic third-party hire while unloading did intentional damage. The health challenges from my past, It is only wise to eliminate such negativity by waving the white flag. I share this review because it is disheartening these days that irrational businesses take advantage of vulnerable people; gone are the days of your word, and a handshake was golden for genuine services.
STORY: Circumvent reaction and defensiveness to their service obligations was insulting. The responses were untruthful, blaming our lack of communication and misunderstanding. I do not take untruths lightly. Everything I state is valid. We agreed to pay more for exceptional service from a "small family-owned business" with employees and no third-party hiring. We would have acquired a different professional moving service during our contract agreement if we were aware of a third party and were responsible for obtaining help or moving our belongings. On the website and the communication, salesperson Matt detailed the services, including that the jobs are not outsourced, assuring that full-time employees would handle our possessions throughout the service. He expressed pride in this service. My perspective of "bait and switch."
Bait: The loading crew arrived in a clean company truck with three uniformed, professional, hardworking gentlemen who disassembled and packed the heavy items fantastically. We packed the 50 boxes of our smaller items and clothing, and even with the extensive damage to the boxes, there was only one broken glass bowl.
Switch: An Allied semi-truck came with one unprofessional, hostile man who was not in uniform. He was already a day late, as he frantically expressed waiting three days for anyone to respond to his Facebook ad to pay cash for the job, which is not an employee, insured, or a professional service person, as was assured. He was hyped and anxious, rambling with frustration and adamant about delivering our items as he had driven 2400 miles, conveying he needed help unloading.
Fortunately, a subcontractor offered some time as I could not as an arm amputee with injuries to my remaining arm. My husband was recovering from neck and hip surgeries. My husband and I had to remove the massive amount of wrapping and repeatedly requested that he not slam and drag the dolly across our new floors. We gingerly asked that he place the rest of the items in our garage. He had already exhibited aggressive behavior by grabbing my phone as I tried to call the company. He had broken one dresser, table, and chair. We have several gashes and scratches on our floor. He forced and snapped the vanity dresser, flipping himself. The chair broke as he slammed it down; I watched pieces fall to the floor. The hostility of this employee was uncomfortable and threatening. It was exhausting emotionally and physically.
In the only conversation, my husband expresses our frustration and dissatisfaction with the arrival of a third party, one delivery man, and his attempt to obtain anyone off the street or the Home Depot parking lot. Stanley voiced disappointment and said he would investigate and call back; he never did. We soon discovered they fired him after that call. We attempted to contact the office several times that day and many days after to address this appalling service and hostility directed at us. We were assured and paid to hire professional movers, not one hostile man fired at my home, which only escalated his behavior toward us and our belongings. These damages result from a belligerent "employee" and should be the company's accountability if true to their exceptional service standards.

On 9-20-23, Solomon and Sons moved us from CT to FL, providing us with one of the worst experiences of our lives. They first greatly overcharged on the original estimate, saying we had more items than anticipated. We were blamed for this. Then they used a rental truck and charged a shuttle fee because they said they couldn't get their truck in, which turned out to be untrue. They next Padded the volume. The Uhaul truck used has a volume of 1682 cubic feet, which was confirmed via a call to Uhaul directly. The mover charged for 1800 cf, which affected the line haul, fuel and shuttle charges. Complaining through the Better Business Bureau was a complete waste of time. They were no help and all the company gave was nonsensical answers. Anyone with similar issues of fraud should try FMCSA.GOV, as we have.

I had a horrible experience with Solomon & Sons Relocation Services. Based on these reviews, I was expecting a top-notch service and all I received was a sub-par service with hidden fees. From the beginning they were trying to get money out of me. They hooked us with a quote that was really cheap compared to other service. When they arrived to the place of pickup they stated that they needed to charge all these extra things that we had not agreed upon. They wanted to charge for packing boxes, when they hadn't explained that packing was another charge and had already promised us a full-service that included packing, but hadn't included those fees in the quote.
They told me that they could review the recordings. They did not want to provide us with the recordings because they knew that we had asked for them to pack the boxes and they did not include that charge in the quote. The foreman that handled our move, David **, was extremely rude and commanding. He acted like he owned the place. From the beginning, he seemed to be looking for things to charge extra for. He also broke a mirror and said that even when you claim it, it is only a few bucks from the insurance that you are going to get...
Needless to say, he acted careless during the move. When delivering the items, the moving company wanted to charge us the shuttle fee, even when the truck could be parked in the alley right next to our building. The trucker had not even seen the parking space in person before deciding that "he couldn't park there". Once he saw that the alley, he had no way of disputing that the truck could go there. The foreman also had misrepresented the state of my items, saying that everything was broken, old, chipped when everything was less than 1 year old and in good state. My wife said she never wanted to move again with any company because of our experience with this horrible company. 80 days later, we still haven't received our compensation for the mirror and office desk that they broke.

SOLOMON & SONS • Based on my items in storage, my estimate of the move cu ft was 400 and Jordan’s estimate was 530 cu ft. He provided an estimate of $3,653 which included $500 for the mid-point and a $200 Sr. Citizen Discount. He assured me that the truck could make it to the house but would have to back up to depart – no problem.
• The coordinator, who was responsible for the labelling of the parcels, did miss-label/miss packages or other errors(?) about 3 times. I am not sure if this played a part in my now forever missing items? • With the truck loaded, I took pics of the inside of the truck and the final size of the load. Then Forrest told me the load was 200 cu ft over the 530 (a 37% increase in Jordan’s estimate of 530 cu ft. (now 330 cut ft more than my 400 cu ft.) and the new total price was $4,687 first quoted by Jordan, so another $1,034 in fee! I was astounded.
• Reviewing the pictures compared to the dimensions of the truck, I concluded that the load was 400 cu ft as I had predicted, less than Jordan estimated, and far less than the 530 plus 200 that had calculated. • I contacted their customer care guy Stanley, who asked his own team casually, when my items were on a pallet…”guys, what cu ft is that?”…Their answers: “400 cu ft.” • Stanley quickly informed me that he had contacted Jordan and all agreed the 400-cu ft was accurate, so I only owed a small balance of $276!
• The last two items unloaded were 1) a box clearly labeled by me as mine, but with no sticker, and 2) my grandfather’s 90-year-old antique smoking cabinet. • Upon my own unpacking, I noted there were no kitchen boxes (no dishes, no small kitchen appliances, no glasses, no Bronze Arcosanti art bells, none of my ceramics (mine or mother from her childhood), no teapots and ceramic tea sets, plus more. • I contacted Stanley. My small moved took ten days, so either sat somewhere, or was I the LAST move of a larger truck? “Please advise, and would he please enquire of the previous/following other stops, if they had any of my boxes?” I heard nothing back from anyone at S&S or Stanley.
• On 24 April: I called Stanley: The only thing I care about is ....IF YOU CAN ASK THE OTHERS AND GET A FINAL ANSWER BY THE END OF THIS WEEK? 1) if they have searched for the boxes of mine? 2) if they will look if they have them? 3) if yes they will look, will they look by the end of this week? I never heard again from Solomon & Sons, nor any did I have any response from Stanley on my missing boxes, or any results of any inquiry of their locations at other delivery locations. Conclusion: They acted honest on the REAL PRICE...but never responded on my missing items. These were family heirlooms of little weight so not worth a $ Claim based on weight only. Very distressing experience all in all.

Horrible experience. Firstly, the quote which I was very specific with was about $1200 off of the final amount that they made me pay. The fact that you have to pay by cash check or money order should say it all… Driver up charged massively. Items took 6 days from A to B. Dozens of items damaged in transit. They were completely careless and obviously threw everything around, Thousands of dollars in damage, so unreal and such a shame. Dealing with their insurance company now. Will be paid Pennies on the dollar for the value of my items damaged. Do yourself a favor and use another company.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY! This was the absolute worst experience. They start out great and make you believe they are the right and affordable choice, but you’ll end up paying double the initial quote in additional charges. They start out very responsive to emails and pick up calls until they have received your deposit. Initially, the salesperson gave me a pick-up date which was incorrect, and I had taken a day off from work to accommodate. Thankfully, Keisha was able to explain that the driver would call me 24 hours before the actual pick-up. I was called 2 hours before they showed up and that was a week after their initial scheduled pick-up window and of course had to add additional charges that were not originally quoted. I was then told that delivery would be within 4 days of the first available move in date…. Which was incorrect.
I was then called by the driver to confirm a delivery for the following date, which was 2 weeks after it was supposed to be delivered, and that there would be a “shuttle charge” of an additional $487.50. I expressed frustration in the additional charge and when calling management, I was informed that the truck broke down and my delivery was to be rescheduled. Another week and a half later I finally receive my delivery. Furniture is scratched, some furniture doesn’t sit flat on the floor anymore, irreplaceable and one-of-a kind sentimental items are broken, and my couch is torn. To make matters even worse they scratched my flooring in multiple places even after I mentioned that they were causing damage, no measures were taken to avoid further damaging the flooring. I advise you to move yourself or do extensive research before choosing a moving company but avoid Solomon and Sons at all costs! I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone!

Hired Solomon and Sons for a move from Florida to Georgia. First, the driver showed up on the wrong date. He showed up a day earlier than scheduled when I was out of town. My partner had to drive 4 hours to meet them right after they called. After the delivery, I noticed two of my items were lost - a kitchen chair belonging to a set of 4, and two shelves that were attached to a corner table. I know they were put on the truck because we checked our storage unit after pickup and it was completely empty.
After speaking with multiple customer service people, months of trying to get them to find the lost items, and filing claims for the lost items, they never responded back to me on any inquiries. Instead, the company that handles claims for them emailed me saying I cannot be compensated for any of the lost items because the driver did not put them on the inventory list. So they lost my stuff and won't give me anything for it. Of all the moving companies I've used in the past, these guys have been by far the worst.

We had heard all the horror stories with Moving Companies and were dreading the move so we went with Solomon and Son because they were recommended but even with a recommendation we experienced what others had mentioned about movers and more. We had a young guy named Jordan come out and quote us under the other company by $1300. We showed them around and pointed to all that would be included plus we even shared the competitors quote. All seemed great so we signed the contract then.
Then the day of the move came and Richard the moving crew supervisor told us a lot of things were not included in the contract and if we didn't agree to another $3000 they would have to leave, we were outraged but couldn't say no since our closing was two days later. After back and forth with others in the company we recouped some of our $ but not without a lot of frustration and loss of sleep. The day of the delivery to our new home they sent very inexperienced young man that could barely lift our stuff out of the truck they were not very careful and even dropped one load, luckily it was nothing of expensive but they did break the bins the items were in. I know now how horrible things are in the moving business and quite frankly there should be better laws enforced, they are a license to steal.

PLEASE READ if you are considering a move with Solomon and Sons! The story they sell you will certainly not be what they will deliver. Matt, my contact person on our move (TN to FL) strongly stressed the fact that they ARE NOT a broker. They do not bid their moves out to other companies. They move you with their trucks, their guys. He was quite likable, and I bought the hype, so I signed with them even though they weren't the lowest estimate. I was most concerned with getting my things as quickly as possible, and he stressed that although they legally have 10 days to deliver, they usually deliver in three or four. That sounded great.
Fast forward a few weeks when the driver showed up on the move date. He told me he wouldn't be delivering my items for TWELVE days (at the earliest)! This was so far out of left field I couldn't believe it. The drivers ended up waiting around for hours while I went back and forth with Customer Service only to be told there was nothing they could do. On top of it all, I was going to be on vacation the day they said they could deliver. Since they gave me zero solutions, and I had to move, I bought a new plane ticket (my expense) for a day later and shortened my vacation.
The move took so long with only two men, and at the end, he said he had bad news and that my charge was going to be FIFTY PERCENT more than the estimate (THEIR estimate with accurate information). When I asked what would happen if I didn't agree, he said they would take 40% of the items back off the truck. When I asked how often this happens with Solomon and Sons, he said the estimate has been too low on EVERY job he has ever done except ONE!
Upon delivery (TWELVE days later), the driver said the truck wouldn't fit, and they had to offload to a different truck for another $750 charge (even though Matt claimed he researched all this before the move, and there wouldn't be a charge). Again, just apologies. I also watched my dining room table fall to the ground because they had leaned it on its side. This is by far my most expensive piece of furniture and the piece I had literally told them was the only one I truly cared about. Huge gash on the top. Tons of boxes were crushed, dishes broken, tables broken, missing items, and EVERY lamp was broken. Every one.
When the move was over, I called Matt to get some resolution to some of these issues. After promising to get back to me twice with no response, I gave up and was just thankful this nightmare was over. I am in the process of filing a claim, and I will update my review after I see if there is appropriate resolution on that front. Moves can be tough, but don't make yours a nightmare like I did. Please know what you're getting into before you sign with Solomon & Sons Relocation Services. NOTE: I have moved with professional moving companies four times (all brokers by the way)....one local move and three interstate moves. Twice I was charged more than the estimate, but it was reasonable. I have never filed a claim or left a bad review.

It ended up being way more expensive than we expected, but that was because my poor wife was like, “Let me handle it.” and she was way under of boxes. But no complaints. The team that came to the house in Maryland was great. The driver was absolutely awesome. He worked with his guys as well. He was really helpful in describing the paperwork. He knew his stuff. We had some issues where they didn't come over to see the apartment. They FaceTimed. They might have made some incorrect assumptions because when they came over to pack everything up, there were things they didn't expect to take and they said they couldn't take them. We were annoyed about that whole thing and just sort of went with it. We called to complain and they discounted us several hundred dollars. They were responsive to that. They delivered on time and the guys that brought it all in and did some unpacking were very nice. They were better than the people that packed it up who could have been a little more careful in the packing. They broke a desk. They should have taken the legs off. But I took pictures and they sent me the form. They were very polite.

I liked Solomon & Sons when I talked to them and I could not have been happier with what they did. This was a move from Florida to Maine and it is not easy to find that kind of operation. I called them on a Friday and they asked if I could be ready the next day. I couldn't so they packed on Monday. The initial quote and the final bill had a huge difference. The drivers were driving an 18-wheeler so they couldn't park it. So, they had to rent a truck and I had to pay for that as well. But they met the timeline. Solomon & Sons has great customer service and the rep was awesome. I'm not happy about the price, but it happens. The moving crew were fast. They came around noon and they were done by 2:00.
The only thing that worried me, but since I was in need, was that once you made a reservation with Solomon & Sons, they take out $800. You cannot cancel it and get that money back. But they were pleasant when I couldn't find anybody else and the other people were asking me for more money. The money bothered me so much, maybe because of what was happening. But it’s fair. They're not the issue. It’s me. They were very helpful and I was able to do certain things online because I had so much going on. And they took everything for me. I booked a move from Miami to Denver with this company on 8/26/2022, the entire time they reassured me (and it says so on their website and on consumer affairs) that their movers are employees of the company, not contractors, they show up in uniform, the move would be fast and efficient because they have their own trucks, they are professional movers with custom packaging and ensure the safe and timely arrival of my items. None of this was true. They were 3 days late to pickup date, charged me an "after hours moving fee" even though the movers left my apartment before 5pm, left me no time to properly vacate my apartment before lease ended. Delivery took 24 days to arrive. There was 0 communication from the company during this time, and I was even told to stop requesting an update as to where my items were and when they'd arrive.
Upon arrival, the movers wanted to charge me additional fees because there were cars illegally parked in the loading zone. The driver and assistant only spoke Russian, making communication impossible. The truck was NOT a Solomon and Son's truck, and the 2 movers (not in uniform) informed me they were contractors contacted that same morning to help with the move. They had never heard of solomon and sons before. I witnessed them dropping high value items ($800 piano keyboard and the stand for my $4,500 TV) from their truck onto the ground, they shattered glass furniture ($1,000 TV stand) and every single box was damaged. They refused to unpack/reassemble items they were supposed to unpack until the 2 contractor movers said they would help.
When they were leaving, I did not want to sign ANY documents because of all the damage. The Russian assistant lady told me "do not worry, we have insurance, you will be compensated, sign these papers or else we can not leave." They did not allow me to read through the documents and did not leave me a copy for my records. They did not even have my inventory list for me to review before they left. They forced me to sign incorrect documents for the wrong customer under the condition that I would receive copies later on and everything would be resolved. Even the movers thought it was extremely suspicious that the Russian assistant did not want to leave a copy of the documents with me. After they left and I started unpacking, I realized there were 2 boxes missing with close to $800 worth of possessions.
Upon reviewing my insurance claim, they said they cannot do anything about the missing boxes because “I signed my inventory list on dropoff” except that I did not. You will notice the signature on the attached inventory list IS NOT my signature that is on the pickup side or the bill of landing. I was given an inventory list for a different customer and was told that the truck drivers would not leave until it was signed. I have 0 copies of my documents and the company did absolutely nothing to resolve any of these issues. They are falsely advertising on their website and consumer affairs the services they provide.
They are stealing people's valuable possessions and doing nothing about it. They are forcing people to sign incorrect documents to cover themselves and getting away with charging people thousands of dollars for the worst moving services imaginable. I paid this company $4,800, claimed close to $2,000 in damages, and they are offering me $142 in resolution. After waiting over a month for my delivery to arrive and dealing with the worst movers and customer service of any company I have ever experienced, this is unacceptable. They are lying to consumers and getting away with it. Businesses like this should not be able to stay in operation. Stay away from these movers at all costs. They will not help you if anything goes wrong and will not update you along the way.

I did a search online for local movers and I asked for estimates. I needed to submit to my employer multiple estimates. I looked at 10 companies and Solomon & Sons gave the most reasonable estimate for my long distance move. They came over to my house and their estimate was quite accurate. In the end, the difference that I needed to pay was minimal.
The move was great and everything was as promised. The movers came on time and they packed what wasn't packed. They loaded things very efficiently. They were very courteous, efficient, and very good with my things. They were very hardworking and at the same time and considerate of my property and of me. They began with the date that I requested then they said that my things would be there in two to three weeks. That was what happened. They called me at the time and they delivered. I would encourage others to contact Solomon & Sons.

The Solomon & Sons team was very easy to communicate with so it was always easy to get ahold of someone and ask questions. But good communication doesn’t make up for a poor job getting done. The job is to manage and maintain my stuff. As a customer, you put the trust in the company to get your stuff from point A to point B efficiently and they lost two of my boxes, which is a major issue. Some of the items have significant sentimental value that I'll never get back so, it's tough to deal with that. The claims process doesn't replace what's been mishandled and lost. I had the smallest possible shipment, which is 500 cubic square feet, to do a long-distance move. So, it wasn't even that much stuff to keep track of compared to some of the other moves that they do. I'm very disappointed in that.
The actual charges that were agreed upon upfront remained the same. But there were some additional fees like the long carry fee and the shuttle fee, which is 400 bucks. The shuttle fee that was used on the pick-up wasn't necessary but I didn't feel like arguing it. The guy had a large truck and he didn't feel he could park it on the street. It was in the middle of downtown San Diego, so I understood where he was coming from. But I see almost every weekend large trucks parked there and they just put their cones up. My girlfriend moved out two days later with a different moving company and they put their truck right on the street, cones up. And they didn't have to shuttle her furniture to the larger truck.

Solomon's reps were very nice over the phone and I liked the price they gave me. Things went quite smoothly from there. They came on the 23rd and they were great on the pickup. Then it's 3 to 14 business days after my first available date, which still hasn't occurred, so we're still within the timeframe. I've been calling them this week to find out the status of my move and their responsiveness could be better. I called on Monday and they said they would get back to me but they didn't. Yesterday, they were closed because it's a Jewish holiday and I did not expect that. I then called this morning to find out and they said they will call me this afternoon.

We were relocating our stepmother from Florida to an assisted living here in New York so that we could be closer to her. We went through a broker and they connected us with Solomon & Sons. The quote we were given seemed fair. We made some changes along the way, so they had to add additional expenses to it. We had a very positive experience with Solomon & Sons. We had to pick up in two different locations and initially drop off in two different locations. They came two hours early and were stressed because we were not ready. But they extended themselves to help us and that made it okay. They were so flexible and cooperative.
The only thing that was a little disconcerting was the fact that it took two weeks for the property to actually reach New York. In the paperwork, it said it would take up to 14 days but we were expecting it to arrive sooner than that. They came on the 14th day. By the time the people came and delivered it, we had decided not to do the two different locations. They were flexible and they came to the one location. That went really smoothly as well. Solomon & Sons was very cooperative and they a difficult and stressful move less stressful.

I spoke with a Solomon & Sons representative and they sent me a quote for a move from Florida to Texas. I had lots of questions and they were awesome. The crew that came was on time and they were quick. The only thing is Solomon & Sons is a bit expensive compared to other movers. Other than that, everything was good.

The cost was a little bit higher compared to what was in the quote. It was close to $800 to $1,000 higher. They didn't tell us it might change when they came to pick up the items. We had some problems with the drop-off, too. They broke some of our household items. They damaged a crib, a shoe shelf, a bookshelf and a chair. But overall, the service was good. They were good in follow-up and were prompt in checking. They're very good for in-state. Out of state, the only problem was because of their contract companies that actually move the products. But Keisha was really helpful. She was the one who acted as a bridge and started everything out.

I liked the tone of the guy called Ed who was on the phone making the arrangements for the estimator to come out to the house. He was upfront about Solomon & Sons not being the cheapest but he felt that they were pretty experienced. When the estimator came around, he asked all the right questions. We had a slightly complicated move and we had quite a few items that were going to one destination overseas. Then we had the remainder of the property and the items were to be shipped to a second destination, also overseas, at a different date. They weren't fazed by any of these and when the moving crew came in, they tagged the items that we wanted to go to destination A, to destination B, agreed to the storage.
The two loading and packing exercises were done on different days and in different weeks. We liked the crew that we had for the first one a lot and we requested them for the next time, which was set for about 10 days later. We had two guys from that crew turn up on the second lift but the others couldn't do it and the superintendent was pre-arranged. But they were very good, too. Solomon's reps also followed up. They said they'd understand if we wanted to make changes since it was a stressful time. It was a 7,500 square foot worth of furniture accumulated over a lifetime and it had a lot of artwork which we wanted to be handled carefully. They did everything the way we'd expect it to be done. They came on time, worked well over 12 hours, and worked in the dark to get things in. They worked through a rainstorm, so that held them up a bit. But they did the big lift all in one day and I can't praise them enough.
In fact, I'd use them again if the occasion arose. You get what you pay for in life, so I wasn't fazed by the fact that they were a little more expensive because they've been approachable at every point in the exercise. I'm very OCD, so I was bothering them with phone calls. At one point of the second lift, which was the big one, my wife got very anxious for the first hour and kept interrupting the guys. They showed nothing but the utmost patience. I had to tell to her in the end to please calm down, go off, and have a cup of coffee. Then she came back later on and apologized. They told her that she didn't do anything wrong, which was great. I was very happy with the young and strong crew that we had. Normally, you’d get one or two who would slouch in these things. But all six of them worked nonstop all day, with no breaks.

It's been great with Solomon & Sons. I have one suggestion though. The packing was not scheduled. Initially, there was a miscommunication there. It read that it was packed by owner, but eventually, it so happened that the movers had to pack it. They probably did not have time to mark what had gone into which box. It would have been nice if someone would have marked it as to what had gone and described it. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

The driver and his helper were fantastic. But they showed up rather late, and it caused us to have to go overnight. They had to spend a night in a hotel where I was staying. Then we finished up the next day. That was because the storage unit company shuts down at 9 o'clock at night and all my stuff was all over the place. I had two storage units. I boxed up and wrapped everything myself. All they did was wrap the furniture in those blankets and box a few things.
I paid Solomon & Sons 4,300 upfront, figuring that was all I owed them. When the guys showed up, I found out I owe another 3,900. I'm still perturbed over the fact I had to pay them anything more because of the fact that all of a sudden, it was my fault for not calculating how much stuff I had right. They're good people but there's a screw up in the system. They should’ve eaten those fees because the screw up should have been their fault. They should’ve had someone come to me and say, “Let's take a look at everything you have. Send us picture.” But nobody's willing to go and look at the houses, unless they're local. These people were in Miami, and it was 10 hours away. I was in North Georgia.
Right now, I'm waiting and trying to find out when my stuff’s going to be here. I got a text saying, hopefully, Saturday. That's got me perturbed too. I am sleeping on a couch. I'm 100% disabled vet. My body hurts everyday. Now, I've knots on my back and shoulders from sleeping on a couch.

We went through a broker, New Leaf Moving Group, and we did not know they were a broker so we got stuck with Solomon & Sons. The moving costs were double what we were originally quoted. The packing was done helter-skelter. They stayed at our house. They came at 8 o'clock in the morning on the second day and stayed until midnight. That loaded up one of their vehicles. The next day, at 3 o'clock, another vehicle came to pick up what they called the overflow. From everything we gathered, the original team knew that all our stuff would not fit in their truck. They told us they had made arrangements to get a second team and it was refused. Yet, when the second team came, they said no such thing ever happened. They didn't know about it until 10 o'clock at night at the point in time where the first team was staying until midnight.
There are a lot of broken items. I've got a ceramic lamp where the legs are broken off. It was ineffective packing materials. I've got pictures where it wasn't wrapped in any paper. It was stuck between a couple of pillows, but the feet weren’t protected at all. I had a set of chimes that were not wrapped in any way, shape, or form. They were stuck in a box and the chimes were rubbing up against the wood sign. I wouldn't hang that sign anymore. It was a decorator sign and there is no way to repair it. I have a lot of pictures that were wrapped in something and put in boxes. One of them was not. If there was bubble wrap on the front of it, there was nothing on the back of it. The glass was cracked on the front. This was a personal item painted by a family member, and it's a custom framing job. That is not inexpensive repair because it needs to be done by a professional.
There were a lot of things that they couldn't assemble or assembled incorrectly. I am dealing with someone in the Florida office to try and see about getting resolution on assembling some of the items that were not assembled. That doesn't include all the broken items. We have not even unpacked a third of the boxes. I just contacted them again this morning. I want to give them a chance. I have been dealing with this woman that appears to be trying to help me. But the delivery mover appeared to try and help me, but he ghosted me. This was not an optimal move. I was a Navy wife, and I moved a lot. This is absolutely the worst move I have ever had.

They did a good job wrapping things up and hauling things. But I didn’t like that they damaged the screen on the Peloton bike. We called them on it, and then they fessed up to it. We worked with Keisha, and she got this stuff approved that they were going to take care of it. The approval came fairly quick. They paid for the repairs. But they weren't forthright when that happened. The second part that I did not like was the split delivery. We ended up having a few more items and we had two separate delivery dates about 12 days apart. A lot of the stuff that we needed was in the second one, aka the washer and dryer. I didn’t like how that was handled. People should get them to come prior to pick up to see exactly how much stuff that you have. In that way, it’s just one delivery and not two deliveries like we ended up having.

The person that I dealt with was very, very friendly. He showed up to the house and explained their customer service-oriented approach. He made a very light kind of pricing quote. The original quote was 4,500 bucks and then the guy got to my new place and said it was 7,400.
I called back Solomon & Sons the next day and they said, “Oh, well, you packed a couple of extra things and all this.” I said, “But I told the guy that.” But I still ended up stuck in the situation. I was extremely impressed with the group from Solomon & Sons that came out and did the pickup in Miami. Miguel was the foreman. He organized everything and he was wonderful. He was professional and very good about keeping the crew on task and making sure that everything was done timely. Also very accommodating, because we had a block of time that they could move. Another moving company was scheduled before our group, and they were running late. So, it caused there to be a slight delay in getting things moved to the truck. They worked very well with us. We got the group coming tomorrow to deliver and I’m hoping everything goes as well as it did when we did the pick-up.
The quote stayed the same but there were some adjustments in the quote. We, in the original estimate, had a queen size bedroom set that was not sent because we donated it before we moved. So that would have been taken off the estimate, but we ended up having more boxes than initially estimated. It all worked out in the end and it balanced out.

The service was nice. Solomon & Sons was very informative. The only feedback I have is that I wasn't sure with the delivery timeline. It was between 3 and 15 days. But it took over 15 days. They called me. But we were moving from Florida to Texas. A more realistic timeline, or if they could guarantee that, “Hey, we’re gonna call you in two days when the driver actually leaves,” would make it a bit easier for us to make that move, because I came in a lot sooner and I had nothing here for a lot of days. Also, I thought New Leaf was directly the company. For people who don't know much about relocation like that, it's important and it helps to know that they're based out of Florida, because it's hard to see where they work out of primarily. Had I known that it was local to Florida and that this was a direct company and I was dealing with a middleman, it makes a big difference on the rate, and everything else.
My rates were a lot higher because we didn't directly work with Solomon & Sons. It was because they did not come up in the Google search in one of the top rated companies. And for somebody with little to no experience, if they had better advertisements out there or something that pops up on top, I would have them directly. But Solomon themselves was amazing. I found out about them later on and they kept me up to date. And as soon as I had that question as to where my shipment was, they had contacted me. They were very clear about the number of steps, charges or packaging. They went over and beyond as well. They helped me move the fridge that wasn't even supposed to be there. Because they had to put the new fridge in. But the old fridge was still there and I struggled with it alone. So, it was very kind of them to finish the whole job. I appreciate that.

I contracted with New Leaf Moving Company and they chose Solomon & Sons for us. The move went okay. But it was a little annoying. It wasn't very clear when the move was going to happen. They originally said they were going to give me a date right afterward. They said by June 24th, they’d have a delivery date. But that was not the case at all. We waited for a really long time to find out when it was going to be. Then it was the next day. On Saturday, they called and said, “It's coming tomorrow.” The whole communication was just not great.
The quote also went up by about $1,000. That was another really frustrating thing. New Leaf said the cost was gonna be 3,000 and then there were a million hidden fees. We were not told about it from the start. We told them from the very start we were moving to New York City, Manhattan. Once we got in touch with Solomon & Sons and they were confirmed as the actual shipping company, they said there was gonna be a $500 charge to ship into the city because they couldn't bring an 18-wheeler into the city so it was gonna change from an 18-wheeler to a smaller truck. That was never told to us by New Leaf at all. That was $500 extra that we were not anticipating.

Just a little choreographed dance in a house they had never been in and they were so helpful. There were three of them. Two of them didn't say much, but they came in and were hustling. When they came in, they charged us double what they had estimated. It’s now two weeks since they picked it up, and I don’t know when it’s going to arrive.
I sent them an email this morning, haven't heard from them yet on that. But after many calls, I eventually got somebody. They put me in touch with the person who was responsible for dispatch and she had talked to her boss. Her boss told her that it would probably be leaving on Friday. It's in their warehouse somewhere. Why in God's name did they want to load the truck once, take it off and store it someplace, put it on another truck to go north, and take it off that truck, put it on a smaller one to deliver. That doesn't seem like a very sound business practice to me.

The first company that I reached out to gave me an estimate. It was around 5,000, but part of it was a $3,000 administrative fee. I was going to leave my furniture with the moving company and they were going to store it for me. It was around $300 a month for storage. So when they passed me off to Solomon's, I was going to do the same thing. But I was so unhappy with the way they jacked up the price that I called them the next day and said, “I'm moving my stuff out of your warehouse.” They told me, “Okay. The earliest we can do it is 10 days.” They were going to charge me $500. So it went from $300 to $500. They told me that was what they charge and that their square footage rate was higher than the first company. Also, they don't prorate so they charged me the full month's storage fee of 500.
When Solomon moved my furniture to a public storage, all my furniture was wrapped in blankets. They did that on the first move and then they told me that I have a choice of giving the blankets back or they would charge me $30 per blanket. There were 30 blankets. I wanted the furniture to be preserved as much as possible so I paid the extra $900.
Solomon didn't reveal what the total cost could be, so that was surprising. There was an estimate, but it was inaccurate. I was not happy because of the way they jacked up the price of the move. That was the most unsettling thing for me. But the workers were very competent. They could have been a little bit more careful with the furniture, but in general, I was satisfied with the way they wrapped everything.

The first man I spoke to did the initial assessment. The delivery gentleman verbally suggested they would be about five to seven business days. I had the move-out done on a Friday. They said it would probably be coming next week, Wednesday through Friday. Then I got a call this past week that it would be 10 days from that point. So, I won’t be getting the delivery till between the 7th and the 10th. That was a bit of a wrench in my moving plans since we're here at the house, and there's no furniture. Had they told me outright at the beginning that it was more likely to take 10 days versus 5 days, I would've been able to plan better. So the communication could've been more open.
Alexander thank you for sharing your feedback about our service. I am sorry that your expectations for the delivery of your items were not met. We strive in every way to communicate as much as possible as to the time frames for delivery. We provide it during the initial call to book the job, to confirm the job, and at the delivery. Sometimes our customers want their items sooner than later which we completely understand. Thank you again, have a great day.

They sent a salesperson and he gave me an estimate of $7,000 and he asked me for an immediate downpayment of $1,300, which, mistakenly, I did. Then they came and the estimate kept growing and growing and growing until it ended up between $16,000 and $17,000. They told me that they would not start unloading my items until I pay. I didn't transfer that much money from one account to the other and I didn't have enough money in the account. They said, "Well, we'll take whatever you have in the account, and then we'll charge the balance to your credit card." So I gave them a bank check for $10,000, and then I paid them an additional 3,000 that I put on my credit card.
Solomon and Sons told me that they would mark on the boxes the special item, like my printer or shelves or the TiVo devices. These things are special that you need to identify to go and open that box because it's priority. But I still don't have my printer. I have no idea where it is in the many boxes that I have here. For me, it's very difficult to operate. I'm still very active business-wise and I cannot print. The only thing that they wrote on the box was, "master bedroom, master bath."
Some of the furniture was big and had to be taken apart in parts. But they placed it in front of the electrical and the phone outlets and it was impossible for me to connect. I had AT&T connect my new TV system. But the wires were so far down, they could not be reached, and I had a very difficult time with that. It happened with all the pieces of furniture. They didn't even bring it to my attention. I could have found the cord to have it plugged in that plug so that I have the use for the electric power that's coming out of there because it applied to the furniture I had. I had to call other people to come and move and it was additional expense to get to my power outlets.

Solomon & Sons' customer service was good. They are prompt. But I'm a bit disappointed with the final cost. Initially, it was 2,600 and it ended up with 3,000. The quality of service is good, though. The packing and unpacking are good, but the shape in which the boxes got delivered is bad. They were handled very improperly. There is a holder which holds the mixer. When we unboxed it, the mixer was way off from the holder. Everything else is fine.

I was very impressed with the fellows that did the move on my end. On the delivery end, there were some breakages. There was a chair. My daughter was moving several things that were mine to her new home in Virginia, and I had a beautiful dining room set, and one of the chair legs was broken. The other piece was the dining room table. And there's something under the large piece of the table that there's like a square piece of wood that supports the table, and that piece was broken. I was disappointed in the pieces that were broken. That dining room set was a beautiful, very expensive dining room set. Hopefully, those things can be repaired well.
The packing looked great. It looked like Solomon & Sons did a really nice job. And they were very nice to deal with and they worked hard. There was no sitting around. Everybody was strong and doing their jobs well. And the kind of supervisor guy was terrific to work with. But I didn't see them put things in the truck, and if they had been a tad more careful, the breakages wouldn't have occurred. But they didn't ask me for any more money, and I tipped them handsomely, because they did a really good job on packing. My daughter said that the amount of stuff that they took fell in line with the quote.

We have moved before and crews usually get irritated and all by the end of the day. But they were not like that. They were good. My parents were really happy. Everything went on smoothly, so that was all what we hoped for.

The initial contact with Jason from Solomon & Sons was good. It was very informative. Also, the pickup went well. There was a little snafu on arranging the dates and times. The crew they sent out was great. However, they weren't enough. We started at 11:30. We didn't get done until 4:00am in the morning. So, it was a very long day. I have a date for delivery, but my stuff will stay in storage for nine months. They packed it up and stored it, and pushing it to February next year. However, the whole insurance and full value protection needs to be a bit more explained. I didn't feel like I was very well-informed of all that mess. Still not, but I'm dealing with it. The estimates were close, but were low, and I've heard that looking at reviews all over. Other than that, I'm pleased with the move. The gentlemen that they sent were very professional. The white glove service was very meticulous in packing. So, I'm pleased with the whole situation at the moment.

Many unfortunate things happened before delivery day, including over $5000 added from the original estimate, postponing delivery, and unanswered calls, but we could have dealt with all of that. Their deciding delivery date for us was on 4/17 (Easter). The driver arrived with two miserable day workers who admitted without any trouble that they were only there for the double time pay because of the holiday and because they were told they’d be done by 1pm. They walked off the job two hours later. My husband and son unloaded the entire second shuttle, up two flights of stairs, some to our rooftop, some to the patio. We had paid extra just because of this. We asked for a refund for unloading, but Solomon and Son says they will not do this.

She walked me through exactly what Solomon & Sons does and what was gonna happen as well as gave a breakdown of the cost and what they were for us. I had everything packed already, so we forewent having the team pack up for me. However, they helped me with a few things that I didn't know how to be a certain way. There were things that couldn't be in a trash bag and had to only be in boxes. Also, a few smaller furniture items that I wasn't sure what to do with, the movers that came wrapped them up really nicely for me. They took all the stuff out of the house and on to the truck very quickly. They were great. They were both super nice guys. I was really stressed out about handing over all my stuff to people I didn't know, but the guy in charge, Richard, made me feel more at ease. He made it very painless.

My rep, Roy, gave me a discount for using Solomon & Sons' service a second time. I talked to Roy and I told him that I need a box for my expensive mattress. He added that extra amount of money for that box. Mike, the guy came and took my stuff, didn't even have the case and used a used package. It was dirty and it was really bad. I asked why and he said, "I don't know. It was Sunday. I couldn't have all the materials with me." He had to use the shuttle instead of having the 18-wheeler truck. I was really disappointed because the mattress is the most important thing to me, especially because it's my own.
The first time I used Solomon & Sons' service a year ago, they were really good. They got all the packages, especially for the mattresses. For my kids' mattresses, they didn't have even a used package and they had to wrap them. This time, even that wrap is not tough enough because they are moving stuff around. I'm sure it will be penetrated in one way or another. I tried to reach out to Roy, but for some reason, he's not reachable. That aside, I didn't have any problems with Mike. He was really good. It took him five hours to get all that stuff, which was not a big deal.

I was not happy with the scheduling with Solomon & Sons. We agreed on the 27th, 28th, the 29th and that I would receive 24 to 48 hours' notice minimum. At 1:00 on the 26th, I was contacted and told the drivers were going to be there in the morning. I said, "I was supposed to get 24 hours' notice." The rep laughed and said, "You were." I said, "Maybe my math's different than yours. 1:00 isn't 24 hours' notice when you tell me they're going to be here in the morning at 10:00. I assumed it would be the following day to add more time." The rep said, "If we show up, you're stuck. You'll be in breach." They put me in a real bind so I was not happy about that. My wife and I worked until late that night to get everything done.
My other issue was between sales folks and New Leaf because that's who I talked to. The moving team came in and they were professional. They said, "No, we can't use that box or that box." I understood and had no complaint. The box was squashed or old and sagging so they had to repack it. I had a couple of paintings they had to totally bubble wrap and pack in like a mirror box. But then they said they had to blanket wrap every chair and sofa then wrap it with cellophane then scotch tape so the blanket stays down.
We had a dining room table, glass top, with a base, and four chairs. They had to wrap each chair in a blanket, wind it with scotch tape to make sure the blanket stayed on. The base of the table and all those things had to be blanketed. They padded and they taped it. Had I known that, I would have maybe not taken some things. I would have sold them or I would have been more prepared. If that service was free, that would have been terrific. But when I was hit with a bill for $1,400, I was not really happy not being told this by the sales side. The only way we move things is we wrap them. I'm learning that the trucking game is, "Worry about it later because we inflate our estimate and we won't get the job."
Other than that, the crew was polite and fast. They weren't screwing around wasting time. I'm thankful for that. When I was given to sign and agree to what they had collected in the remainder of the move, there was almost a $1,000 charge because it was being transferred from Florida to LA. In LA, a 18-wheeler semi can't be on a residential street so they got a shuttle. That's by LA law. It would have been nice if their salesperson had a chart and had the brains to look at it and say, "By the way, I'm sorry. But in Oklahoma, we could pull right up in front of your house, but we can't do that in LA. That's going to be an extra $950.'" It was the move from hell. There was nothing we could do.

I put a bunch of my stuff in storage and used a moving company to move myself into storage. I then used Solomon & Sons to move my items from storage into my new place. I actually didn't directly contract with Solomon & Sons. It was another company that accepted the gig then outsourced it to Solomon & Sons. I was given an expectation timeline upfront. The move generally fell within all the estimates.
The actual movers were pretty good. They showed up on time at the location. These are guys that have been doing it for a little while. They had all sorts of handy tricks for figuring out how to get things in and out. They were very meticulous and there were definitely steps taken that I appreciated. These were things that I wouldn't necessarily have done for myself. It was high quality of service from someone who was an experienced mover.
The movers were a pair consisting of an older guy and a younger guy. They worked together prior but they weren't necessarily together. That old guy put care and effort into the wrapping my stuff. I'm used to the situation where I get into my new places and there are a couple of broken items and things. This is one of the first professional movers that I've had that treated my stuff better than I treat it when I move it myself.
Once I got into my place, it was like, "Okay, guys, this goes here, here, here." I stepped out to make a phone call and when I came back, half the things was already done. It was generally a positive experience with those guys. They were very careful with the moving, helping me with getting everything in, and getting the layout that I wanted it. They were were in and out, no muss, no fuss, pretty quickly.

I feel bad because they gave me a price and the price was very low. But when they came here, they said something was not included and they gave a very high price after that. Before, it was only 6,800. But after only adding some boxes, it became double the price.
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately you forgot to mention that you actually added 70 more boxes than originally quoted for. We state on all of our contracts that the price quoted is only good for the items on your contract and there will be additional charges for any additional items. We schedule our trucks based on the inventory and pick ups ahead of time, when customers add items on the day of the move it effects the space on the truck that has been allotted for the next customer. You had 2 full months to add more boxes to your contract and you then would have known the final cost in advance. We apologize that you feel bad because your price increased however it is only fair to share our side of the story too. Wishing you all the best in your new home.

Solomon & Sons is a family-owned company. I used them for a move from Florida to Georgia and everyone was good. The move took over a month because I requested storage. They delivered everything that we agreed on. So far, so good. The only con is they require cash or a cashier's check for the final payment. I wanted to pay with a credit card and I couldn't because it's a policy and it's on their contract, which I signed. When you are moving and you have 10,000 things on your plate, thinking I'm paying cash the last payment adds to the whole thing.

We asked for the move to be on March 4th. But Solomon called the next day and said, “Can you make it sooner?” So I called the apartment complex and they said we can move on February 25th. So that was nice and dandy. Then the next day, Solomon called and said they weren't gonna move me till March 5, 6, or 7. They changed it again and that was not the worst of it. After they changed the date, they told me they didn't change it. They said I misunderstood them. But I did not misunderstand those words. They were calling me a liar. It’s disgusting how bad an experience I had. They ended up charging us almost $14,000. To go from 6,000 to 7,000 to almost 14,000 is ridiculous.
We got one quote from Solomon but we had more stuff than they thought we had. So they came and packed up everything. But they more than doubled the pricing. That was ridiculous. On top of that, they charged me an extra $658 for wrapping material after I paid for wrapping material and boxes in the original quote. They ripped us left and right. We have no savings left. Also, they dropped my mattress and I had to go buy a new one. We're getting ready to finish the claim this afternoon. We have pictures of it. The metal was coming almost to a point on one side and the other side went downhill. I fell out of the bed two weeks ago and hit the floor. I'm 75 years old. So I am so angry with them. It’s been three weeks and I'm very bitter.

My experience with Solomon & Sons wasn't very good. My dad died and I inherited some furniture from him. My sister-in-law who was handling the move, she and my brother were in Florida and set it up. But they were subcontracted. There were two different trucks. My brother and sister-in-law live in Chicago and I live in Los Angeles.
It took longer because, first of all, I was slapped with an extra $300 charge right before Calvin tipped up my stuff in West Palm Beach because they said the driver couldn't take an 18-wheeler into Los Angeles proper, and he had to rent another truck. He showed up in the 18-wheeler, which would not be allowed to park in the loop where I live. There are strict parking regulations. I had cleared everything for him to park in the right spot to do it.
He came by himself and I was shocked. He had to roll the stuff very far to my house. He also said, “I can put together any bed you have.” It was the bed I was taking. When he got to the bed, he didn't know how to do it and just gave up. When it came to my dad's couch, it didn't fit in the elevator so I showed him where to go up the stairs, but he had nobody to help him. He bribed one of the security guards with 25 bucks but they were not allowed to do that and they weren't there. I had to call. These two guys came while he was having trouble with the couch. I already was paying them and I asked them, “Can I give you some money to go help this guy?” At first, they said no because I had 12 stops to do. But eventually, he came up the stairs with one of those guys helping him.
Where I live, you have windows of when you can use the elevator. So I booked it in advance. I had convinced the apartment complex to be very nice to me to give me more than one date as an option because he couldn't exactly pinpoint the day for sure what day he was going to be here. On top of it, he delivered boxes to me that weren't mine.
I didn't realize it at first, because it was 10 boxes of stuff plus a bed, a couch, a credenza, a chair and a table. Later that day, when I was going through the boxes and opening them up a little bit to see what it was going to take to unpack all this stuff, I saw that these other two boxes were there. I went over and FaceTimed with my sister-in-law who’d done the packing in Florida to make sure she hadn't accidentally sent these other two boxes, which weren't labeled in the same way she did the 10 back that she packed for me. He had a comeback but didn't want to come back. He was pissed.
I called the company right away when he came without the small truck, ‘cause the first thing he said to me was, “I forgot my wallet. I couldn't rent the truck.” I didn't believe that. I said to Solomon, “I paid $300 but it wasn't used. I deserve a refund for it.” I had called New Leaf, the parent company because I didn't understand. First, the customer service representative Stanley was very good and said, “No problem.” Then he said there was something with the controller. Somebody wasn't there. All of a sudden, they changed their mind. It cost me an extra $300.
I also had this big painting that Solomon had wrapped in Florida. It's a 4 x 6 frame. When I opened it up the other day, it was scratched in multiple places. It's a plexi frame. That still needs to be fixed. I was very dissatisfied with the situation. It was ridiculous. I was calling Thursday and they said he counted the steps. That’s another reason why they wouldn't give me a refund. But I had told the customer service guy in the beginning that it was only one flight. It's like a European one. You got up the elevator on one floor. It was not like he carried the couch up 12 flights of stairs. I was told that I have 90 days to deal with the damage. I deserve a refund and them fixing the painting.
For some reason, my shipment reached me in LA before my brother got his shipment in Chicago. I warned them, “Make sure you check to see there's more than one person in the truck coming into your house.” Their guy came with some kids but they were unable to move some furniture. They damaged two things, the glass coffee table and this other table. It seemed good in the beginning, but not in the delivery. The parent companies are good, but they gotta get better subcontractors.

The guys that came and did the packing did a fantastic job. They had blankets that they wrapped the furniture and the wood furniture with. They also had that cellophane kind of wrap that's like plastic wrap. It took about five hours to pack everything up. I was very impressed. The whole experience so far has been great. I would definitely use them again and recommend them.

The rep from Solomon & Sons that I spoke with made me feel confident. He explained how the process was going to go and how the pricing works. He went through the whole moving. All my questions were answered. However, the quote that I got went up to $800 when the packers got there. They also charged me for having stairs, which I was told I wasn't going to be charged because you only get charged if there are 14 stairs. Sometimes, they try to add a charge for you to pay it, or else you don't get your stuff. He said he wouldn't do that, but he did. But the movers were all professional. Three people came and packed all this stuff, and one man unpacked everything and took it down the stairs. He did an excellent job by himself. I was amazed.

Solomon & Sons moved us before very efficiently and got it down in a timely manner. So I called them again. They have a way of being able to do an estimate by doing a FaceTime walkthrough. I walked through the house and they gave it some estimate. Nobody came, which is very convenient and I like that. The movers showed up and they walked through the house, and the estimate went up by 25% right there. I went from $9,000 to $12,000. He wrote it up again and said, “You have to sign this before we can start to move your goods.” So, that was really upsetting to us. Fortunately, the driver and the crew were very good. They packed very well, that was very high quality. When they got through, he wrote me up another final cost, which was reduced by a couple of thousand dollars and we were okay with that.
They loaded us up in Southern Florida, Punta Gorda and now, we’re up in Lansing, Michigan, in an empty house, and we're waiting for our goods. They have not given us an arrival date yet. I kept calling them but they didn't give us a date. They said, “That’s the policy.” We know they have a window of 10 days to two weeks here but we don’t have a date of when all of our belongings are gonna show up here in Lansing. We signed the contract. The contract allows that, that’s the deal. They do that and we understand why because they need to pack a whole semi-trailer full of stuff. But it would be much better if we had a designated arrival date.
Thank you for your review. I am pleased that we were ultimately able to make you happy in the end. We do our best to catch everything on a virtual estimate, but sometimes things are missed and need to get adjusted on the day of the move. Our movers do an excellent job of taking care of our customers and will always review the final costs to make sure they are justified. Wishing you all the best in your new home!

When I called Solomon & Sons, they seemed very knowledgeable, professional and experts in the area. They came over and seemed professional. They understood. I live in Aventura and there are a lot of condo restrictions and they're very strict. Every time I work with other delivery companies, they're like, “They need to be here a certain time and leave by a certain time.” That was super important for me.
The person came over and he looked at everything. I did see, though, that they missed a couple of items, which was interesting because I didn't have much. It was two bedrooms. When we did the move, they said, “Oh, we hadn't quoted this.” There were two pieces that were not there and they wanted to charge me $200. I said, “No. This was there.” I called the person who quoted me, who came to my house, and I said, “You told me that everything would be included. I don't want nickel and diming. I'm not paying $2. I'm paying 2,000. It's expensive. And that's why I chose you.”
But he had that fixed with the people at the movers. They figured that out and they owned up to it. They adapted to the circumstances and they made the move within the same day, which is what I wanted. I had also asked them to put something, because we're supposed to do the flooring and it wasn't done. I have a storage within the building, but it's in another area of the building. It’s not next to my house. I said, “Because this happened, can you put the stuff here?” They did that and went above and beyond.

Solomon & Sons was a very good referral by a friend. The process was very smooth, and it was very clear for me. They came and helped me in packing. They came at the time they promised they would come. They brought in all the tools with them. They were very organized, professional and friendly. They called me almost three times just to give me some updates.

Solomon & Sons is local, so I kind of wanted to use them. Once the guy came out to the house, he was very friendly. Everything was good in the beginning. I had to close on the house here and my furniture had to go in storage. So, I called and told them when I was closing on the house up here, which was the 1st, and they said they would try to get the furniture to me as soon as possible. They never did call me and then they showed up. It was crazy because I also had ADT here. Unfortunately, my daughter and I were here because we were sleeping on a blow-up bed. I had ADT in here trying to put in all the alarm system. I had the movers showing up and like, “Hey, we got all your furniture.” It was like, “Okay. There's somebody else here at the same time.” It was like a circus.
There was another thing that I was kind of disappointed about. I had a lot of antique furniture that I was moving, which they were really good about packing when we left Fort Lauderdale. Then a marble top piece got broken by their forklift. They saw it when it was being stored. So, when the guy had explained it to me for insurance, he was like, “Oh, just get the six cents per pound. It's not that much. Blah, blah, blah.” That comes nowhere near replacing the antique marble top. They paid me $40. I found the customer service to be receptive and the movers were nice. They felt terrible that the piece was broken. It's just then it's up to you as the customer to follow up on everything and to make sure it gets done. After the move, there was no reaching out and saying, “Hey, how’d it go? Are you happy? Blah blah blah.”

The initial contact was through another company, Trinity Relocation, and then they allocated the work to Solomon & Sons. I told Trinity every piece of furniture that I have to get the most accurate quote possible. They gave me a quote and then Solomon & Sons called and said they would be there the next day. They said, “Hey, I don’t know if you realize it, but you booked with a different company. Solomon & Sons is going to be moving you. The rates are different from what you’re quoted, but we’re gonna stick to the rates that you were quoted or the means. Instead of us moving you on an hourly basis, we're going to go on a per square whatever move.” They stayed with that and the numbers were spot on.
When Solomon & Sons came to the home to do the initial pickup, they were very polite and professional. However, on the delivery side, it was the same set of guys but Solomon & Sons completely destroyed a faux marble table. The table was shattered to pieces when it arrived at my destination. I took pictures and then they put it back on the truck. After they left and I started going around, looking at the furniture, I had a linen couch with two legs broken off of it. The couch was set up to appear as if it was fine, but the legs were completely broken off the couch. They wanted to give me $120 for that, which is unacceptable. It was a brand new home, meaning it had just been built. But there were some things in the wall from them bringing the furniture in. So it went bad quickly.
When I initially booked, they asked what dates did I need to move. I told them what day I wanted the pickup and they honored that date. I explained to them that I was waiting to close on the house, and they told me that as long as it is within a week, I still should be fine. But that wasn’t the case because when they did the pick up, I still had to pay that additional funds just to store my stuff. Had they honored what they said at first, I would have still been within the 7 day window. I had to pay an additional $500 minimum to put my furniture in storage. I didn't know that until that day they came and picked me up. So that could have been disclosed better.
The workers did the best they could have done. They were moving me from a third floor apartment with no elevator, and the table could have been broken then. They came across as very efficient. They were decent workers. It could have been a great experience, but it turned out to be a poor one. I’m very dissatisfied with Solomon & Sons.

My stuff was delivered on time in Alabama. I was notified every step of the way and they checked up on things. The manager did a very well-run and smooth procedure. Everything was as expected, which is great for a moving company, because you hear a lot of horror stories. I knew going in that Solomon and Sons was a good company so even though the quote was higher than other companies, I wasn't getting ripped off. The price is what they told me it would be and I appreciated that in terms of budgeting. It was nice. Jordan was my sales associate, and he came over and did a visual estimate. The move was local and close but moving costs are astronomical right now. I thought it was going to be a lot less than it ended up being but across the board, it’s how much things cost these days.

The day before the move they sent 3 friendly guys over to help pack - all of them were great, and packed my breakables and my wine, professionally. NOT A BREAK ANYWHERE. They then sent 5 guys over the next day to move our stuff, and again, all these guys were polite, kind and they had to move 120 boxes out of a 3 story apartment and into a 3 story apartment. I reserved the move from Ohio to California in early May 2021 for a September 7, 2021 move date. I signed a contract and put down a $1900 deposit. I contacted them on Wednesday Sept 1 to confirm the move. First they confirmed it. Then they called back to ask if I could move the next day, September 2. I said no. Then they called back to cancel my move. The stated reason was lack of labor to do the move. This was 3 business days before my scheduled move (actually 2.5 business days since I called them at noon). Monday September 6 was Labor Day holiday. I had to try to find another moving company in 2 days before the holiday weekend. My home was sold and I had to be out. I was unable to find another moving company and ended up having to rent a truck, find a long haul driver, and arrange for moving labor.
The late cancellation of my contract led to 5 days of stressful scrambling for a solution and greatly increased my costs due to last minute arrangements and a delayed move date. I don’t understand how my contract with them meant nothing. I was refunded my deposit. Do not trust this company to do what they contract with you to do. And if I had not initiated the call on September, would they even have contacted me to tell me they weren’t going to show up?

I was working with a super nice person to price and plan my move for over 2 months. He was super diligent and friendly, even though I would always call for additional help and make multiple changes. He probably gave me over 10 quotes. After all this time, I was finally ready to book and lock in my move with them. The deposit was charged to my credit card right away. Then a couple hours pass by and I get a call saying that my quote was priced at a wrong rate and that my move would be too complicated for them to service. I expressed where I was moving to 2 months ago when I called for the first time. They simply washed their hands and left me out to dry.
Moving is already a very stressful process and to book a company after months of planning just for them to turn around and say "oops" is highly unprofessional and irresponsible. If you have a "complicated" move, aka; any long distance move that isn't into a big city, don't waste your time with them like I did. If anything, the least a moving company should be is organized and not gaslight customers. If I could leave 0 stars I would.

Avoid Solomon & Sons at all cost! What a dishonest, fraudulent, unethical, irresponsible company. These were not typical moving issues, this was NEGLIGENCE. These were all controllable things that were negligent of Solomon & Sons. I was moving out of state and they assured me that they would be the ONLY company moving my belongings, pick up and delivery. Not only was that a lie but the company that showed up with MISSING and DAMAGED belongings only had one person show up in a truck and try to extort an additional $1000 from me because he said he would need a “shuttle” truck as he couldn’t get near my building with a semi.
My building is in a mixed use complex with a grocery store and can accommodate two semi trucks side by side right in front of my door! Once I got him to agree to unload, he then called random people in the area to see who would show up to help him unload which only one person did. This was not a “let's hire a few guys to move me” type move where you pay a few hundred dollars. This was a $4000 out of state move.
Not stacking heavy boxes on boxes marked fragile that were crushed, that’s controllable. Doing whatever was done that caused many of my boxes to be ripped apart, that’s controllable. Not stacking 20 boxes on a dolly several boxes too high so that they fall off while pushing is controllable. Bringing a door stopper so that when you go to push send cart inside and not crash and topple boxes, that’s controllable. Not peeing on the floor, that’s controllable. Putting the boxes in the rooms that they go to, controllable. Unpacking the TV that they were supposed to do and not leaving furniture on their sides, controllable. They also tried to extort an additional $200 because he didn’t have a way to properly measure the distance to my front door from the elevator and was using an iPhone app that he said wasn’t working.
I called immediately when the truck arrived to alert them to the issues with my destroyed belongings and at the attempted extortion and I never received a callback. Then I sent an email later that night letting them know that one of their movers URINATED ON MY FLOOR. Someone should have been at my house, same day, cleaning the bathroom. And then the next day someone should’ve been sent here to move the boxes to where they were supposed to go, unpack and set up the furniture and TV like they were supposed to. None of that happened.

I spoke with the owner of this great company and told him my furniture are antiques and I was concerned they may be damaged in some way. Well, I am so very SATISFIED with the 2 movers, the way my furniture was wrapped and boxed. My refrigerator had to be taken apart in order to get through my laundry room door and it was done successfully and with no damage. I could go on and on. Do not hesitate to hire these polite and professional movers.

Everything started off fine. I chose them because they were accredited and had an A rating with the Better Business Bureau. They were more expensive than other companies but I figured the extra money made sense for who I thought I was dealing with. I needed to move from Florida to New Jersey. I scheduled them to pack up my apartment on October 28th, and was asked when I’d be available for delivery (keeping in mind they say to allow 7-10 business days). I asked about November 7th (8 business days after pickup) and they said yes and confirmed. They said they would call the day before to give a delivery window. The packing on October 28th was fine, they called on October 27th to give me a time window.
On November 6th they called, I thought to give me the delivery window for the 7th. No. They were calling to tell me the truck was leaving Florida and to expect it to arrive 7-14 days from then! I explained my concern and confusion but they made it seem like I was the incompetent one. Gabriella wouldn’t even listen to me. She couldn’t even give me a day for when the truck would come. Suggested I take a week off of work just in case. I was shocked. The person I dealt with setting everything up was lovely and professional. She ended the phone call. A few minutes later she called back, only to remind me to have the full amount in cash or cashier's check ready. I feel scammed. Would not recommend them at all. Save your money and go with anyone else.

If you will read the other one star reviews, all that they have encountered is the absolute truth! They will re-schedule your delivery, as they did mine, several times in a moment's notice... their trucks break down on a regular basis, no one shows up on time, and, like us, many of the items that they finally delivered were broken. Everyone lies, and lies, and lies, even the owner, Roy **, personally assured me of a delivery date, it never happened!! Dishonest, lack of total integrity, they are a sham/scam of an operation. Please do not use or co anywhere near this company!!!

Throughout the day they fastidiously worked on behalf of me while not dawdling – packing things, moving things and loading things. They didn't rest till everything was done. We were living in Coral Springs and were moving to Clermont. I looked at four different companies but I went with Solomon & Sons because of their customer service. We did a quote online and then they reached us back. The quote was good considering everything that they had to do and we were happy. Also, their rep was awesome. My husband had open heart surgery and I had one guy texting and calling not only for the move but he genuinely seemed concerned about my husband and I appreciated that a lot. They also gave us a timeline which was very accurate. From beginning to end, the move lasted about six hours. Solomon & Sons Relocation Services was amazing.

The move isn't finished yet. They took my furniture and put it in storage in Florida and I would get it out by the end of November. I had some furniture that Solomon & Sons were bringing from Massachusetts to Miami. I looked at three moving companies in total, and I picked them. They were $50 more expensive than one of the other ones, but just from their ratings and what I saw online, they looked like they were much more reliable. I feel like it was worth the extra money. Their quote was within the market value and it was within the range of everyone else so I thought it was fair. They were always really good at communicating with me and made sure that they called me to update me. They even sent me pictures when they arrived at the site to pick up the couch and they wrapped it. That was really more than I expected and I'm very happy. They also arrived right when they said they would. I was running a little late but the movers waited for me and they unpacked everything. Our experience with Solomon & Sons was good at first and bad at delivery. Phone estimate was $4,013.00 and on-site estimate was $6,004.50. Contract says delivery can take 2 to 14 business days (FL to TX)– ours took 13 (19 calendar days). Team that packed and loaded was good – delivery team (driver mostly) was not good. In 12 previous moves, what the mover packed they unpacked at delivery – Solomon and Sons did not. Unpacking service was not discussed or offered. Trash in previous moves was taken by the mover – Solomon and Sons would not take the trash.
Was assured in on-site inspection Sleep Number bed would be disassembled and reassembled. Driver refused to assemble and yelled at me (one of the other men put it together). Two solid gold men’s rings disappeared from a dish on a counter. The glass used by one of the delivery men was left next to the dish. Only the movers and us were in the house from the time the rings were seen until they were discovered missing. I would not recommend Solomon and Son’s Relocation and urge caution if they are being considered for a move.

We contracted Solomon and Sons to handle our move. We found the company online after reading feedback on a couple of review sites. Most everyone we read talked about great customer service and a straightforward business department. We had to make sure the company we ultimately would use would not have any last minute trickery.
We were impressed from the first phone call how polite and knowledgeable the sales representative was. He was very mindful of our situation and we were able to set up a move well within our budget. We had certain days we were hoping to reserve and in the end we got them. As anybody would understand we had a lot of things going on outside of speaking with a moving company so trusting Solomon with our possessions was a big deal for us. But in the end everything went great. The move took place as expected with no bumps in the road. We are happy we spent time finding this company and hopefully our feedback helps the next person in need.

Solomon & Sons Relocation Services (US DOT 2512576) agreed via signed contract to pack and load our items on August 25th, 2018, move them to Waco, and unload and unpack items upon delivery. The company charged a deposit of $818 as part of the contract execution. The company then attempted to change our pickup date to August 30th via telephone, which we could not accommodate. Solomon & Sons then said they would arrive the 25th or the 26th to pick up our items. On August 25th, I received a phone call from someone claiming to be their trucker. He said his truck had broken down, and he would not be able to make it for a few days.
I called Solomon & Sons several times in an attempt to see what was going on. All call attempts were ignored and I was unable to leave a message. I wrote Solomon & Sons an email expressing my frustration, and received the following reply two days later: "Just saw this - forwarded to dispatch to address." No one from Solomon & Sons ever reached out to me afterward. My wife (who is 8 months pregnant) and I were forced to rent a truck and pack and move everything ourselves to accommodate our timeline. Solomon & Sons failed to show up when agreed upon, chose to ignore my attempts to reach out, and has failed to refund my deposit.

My daughter moved into a new home and I sent her some furniture through Solomon & Sons. I established what I felt was a good rapport with the first gentleman that I spoke to so I decided to go with them. But my overall experience with them was less than satisfactory. When we actually did the move, it turned out that I needed a lot more packing materials and they quoted me for almost $500 more. At that point, I had no choice but to pay it. I was not gonna stop in the middle of the move. Then they couldn’t give me a time when the truck was to be anticipated to make the delivery. I was flying up to help my daughter and I couldn’t make a flight arrangement. Finally, I had to make the arrangement two days before I had to be there and I didn’t appreciate that given how flights are when booking that late.
Other than that, their moving crew did an excellent job wrapping everything securely. When the items were delivered, we only had one small table that broke and everything else arrived fine. So, I was pleased with that. However, they left all of the packing material strewn all over the place. It took up half the garage and the whole side of the house. I was livid. They didn’t even put it in empty carts so that it was manageable and my daughter didn’t have bulk pickup nor should she have to. I called the company and really raised hell about it. It cost me $90 to have somebody come, pick up the trash, and take it to the dump. Solomon & Sons reimbursed me the $90 but we still had to go through that while in the midst of a move and I didn’t appreciate that. I’ve made many moves in my life and I have never had a company that just left everything trashed. So, I would be a little reticent about doing a recommendation or using them again.

I looked at three different companies when I had to move from Florida to New York. When I contacted the sales representative from Solomon & Sons, he was promising and he met the criteria that I needed. He convinced me to use their company. The first time I talked to Ed, the sales rep, he said the movers would be there on a certain date between 12:00 and 3:00. And when it came to that date, an hour prior to them being already at the house and moving, somebody called me and he said they wouldn't be able to make it and they would arrive around 6:00 PM. I told him I’ve got a flight at 10:00 PM so if he said 6:00, then they have to be there at that time.
Around 6:00 o’clock while I’m waiting and no one showed up, I called him back. Then he said he's sorry and he's still at the other place because somebody else is moving and he'll arrive at 7:00. That was ridiculous. So I called the office right away. They told me they'll send six people at 7:00 to move within an hour and make it fast. I said okay. I live really close to the airport in Florida and it was just 10 minutes. Finally, when they showed up, there were not six people. There were only four. They rushed like crazy and they broke some stuff in front of me. They also did not use the ladder that was on the truck. Me and my friend were commenting that they were using the side of the truck and they damaged some of the furniture.
I asked them when are they going to be in New York because I need to know at least 48 hours prior to arrival. They said that’s not a problem. They called me 15 hours prior to the arrival and I told them I can’t schedule that with the superintendent because it’s a new building and we need to know two days in advance. They said they were already in D.C. and they were on their way. I said that doesn’t work for me and asked them if they can schedule it. Then they said they will do it if I pay them $150 an hour for the delay, for each hour.
I said I will charge them $150 from 12:00 PM the day they picked up my stuff until 7:00 PM. If that’s a deal, then we’ll do it. We worked it out. They didn’t charge me for the $150. And actually, the people who dropped my stuff were very nice. They’re different from the people who picked up my stuff from Florida. They delivered everything. But I saw the TV stand was broken and I have some clothes damaged. You can tell from the clothes when they packed those. The box was really damaged from the way they’re put in the truck. Also, the nightstands and lamps are broken and that’s not what I expected from them. I haven’t contacted Solomon & Sons since then because it’s not worth it. So I will not use them anymore or recommend them. It was a bad experience.

I had a new job and I needed to move from Hollywood, Florida to California. Solomon & Sons told me that they are very good in service and they sold this well. They gave me a quote online then they came to the house, reviewed the stuff I had to move, and provided an in-house estimate. I didn’t need to go out at the time and that was a good thing. When they started making revisions in the price, those were provided over their email. Also, they were charging $1,000 extra over another company but at that point, I chose them for the good service that they could provide.
However, their customer service was very bad. They said they would come on Saturday but they kept on postponing. Then, they wouldn’t accept check for the payment. They would only accept cash but I told them that I could only provide a credit card payment. They also delayed the move and and came after three days. And out of the blue, they gave me a window of three to four days for the delivery but there was no fixed date. Then they told me the time they'd be here so I should be here to receive the items. Later on, their guy just walked in over here and rushed me to make a credit card payment. The movers also missed two boxes, the lamps were broken, and I am still looking for some paintings that were not here. That is very disappointing. Solomon & Sons were boasting about the service but they didn’t have a good service reputation.
I called their customer service to let them know what happened and they just said that there is an online portal where I could check whatever is missing and that they'd see what they could do. The case is still open and it is on our part to send them a consolidated email. Also, they said the items would be here within two weeks but it took a while. I was not in a hurry to receive them, though, and I was also okay with the time that they provided me. Other than that, the packing was pretty good but the pricing was a little higher. All in all, I'm dissatisfied with my experience and I would tell others to retreat from Solomon & Sons.

My niece found Solomon & Sons and she loved them. She thought they were great and they delivered on time. My sister moved from Fort Lauderdale to Denver and she had a lot of stuff. She used Solomon & Sons and they went above and beyond packing her, though it was over their initial estimates because she had so much more than anybody thought but she was willing to pay that. Based on her experience, I decided to do the same. We both sold our homes just a couple of weeks apart from each other, so I used them too. Their packers were fantastic. They did a very good job and there was no slacking. They were enjoyable, sweet and very caring about how I wanted things done.
In terms of their quote, it was too high. The biggest problem is they don't come out to our house and give us a quote. They go by the listing that I have on them alone. They talk to you over the phone and ask. That's not a good way to give an estimate at all and it's impossible to get an accurate estimate. But I would have used them anyway because I really liked them. Their salespeople and their packing people were fantastic.
Another problem was about the delivery and both my sister and I had the same issue. By the time she started having problems, Solomon & Sons was already getting ready to package me up so I couldn't switch movers at that time. They told us a delivery date of the first, and both of us had to wait two weeks before we got our furniture. We kept getting a different story every time we called to check on the status so it was really disappointing. I understand break-downs and some delays, but it was a different excuse each time. They said that they were on their way and they should be there on the third the first time I called. I called two days later and I was told that they had a breakdown and they hadn't left yet.
I was paying two weeks rent that I didn't have to because I had no furniture to put in the house and the same goes for her. But once they got here, the movers were great and moved everything in. They were very pleasant and did whatever we asked. But I had to sleep on my sister's couch for two weeks until my furniture got here. Getting that thing was two weeks later than what they had told us. They're fabulous, but terrible on delivery and their excuses were ridiculous.

I was doing a long-distance move for work. And for ease, I decided to use a moving company. I looked at about three companies but I went with Solomon & Sons. Their price was the lowest. I was aware that there’s a potential that the final cost was gonna be increased. It ended up being 10% more. They wanted to charge more, but we had lengthy conversations with them prior to the move about it not exceeding 10%. So, on the day they tried to charge more than that, we settled at 10% additional.
My moving consultant was good, personable, and knowledgeable. Solomon & Sons was in touch with us the entire time, and the move was right around the time frame that they stated. Also, we got numerous calls to kind of keep us up-to-date. The moving crew in Florida was good, but the crew up here in Chicago was not as great. They didn’t seem as knowledgeable and they didn’t know how to put certain things together. They weren’t as efficient with their time, too. They were here for five hours, and we moved out in two hours. So, it took them a considerable additional amount of time to get everything in.
There were a few things that were damaged like a chair and my bike. These are some of the things that had nicks. I reached out to Solomon & Sons for the bike and they sent over a claim form for that. Solomon & Sons provided an efficient and good service overall. I'm satisfied. I relocated for work and had a long distance move from Virginia to Orlando. But there was a mistake where Solomon & Sons quoted me a much better price. When they came to pick up my items, I came to find out that they didn't add the square footage for my sofa and the boxes. So I probably wouldn't have selected them if I only got properly quoted from jump street. They put me in a position where I didn't get the opportunity to check out all of my other options.
When the crew came in Virginia Beach, they were pissed off. The guy went off the paperwork and it didn't show the sofa and the square footage of the boxes. I almost didn't have a big enough truck and the guy only had one person helping him. So instead of two or three hours, the job took four or five hours. Everything went into the truck then I had extra stuff that I had to throw in my car to bring down which I didn't expect. I also had an incident with Solomon & Sons where I was supposed to get some money credited back. I asked them if, considering all the stuff that was going on and the misquotes, they could help get the move on the 7th. The moving consultant said it could be on the 7th at the earliest. The crew picked up on the 26th but come the 7th, they never came. They came about a week after.
Whenever I called the moving consultant, he was always busy and it was a hit and miss. He told me that he would look into the situation. Then he finally had to get his managers and they looked into it. It was recorded and he was supposed to call me back. I had to keep getting uncomfortable. When I tried to get in contact with them, he apologized and said he was trying to earn my business. But then he asked me to let him know if my company was paying for the service so he could keep his commission. It was awkward. We could hear our kitchen items shattering as they moved the boxes. Before paying for our deposit, they made us think we would be getting our stuff on the first available day of delivery. They ended up delivering it 6 days later.
Our stuff was piled up to the truck ceiling and was moved to different trucks before it got here. I was heartbroken seeing all our things so poorly attended and handled after we paid thousands of dollars. We have a small apartment. We sincerely regret using this company. They sent another verifier and the second quote was better than the first. And after the second quote that I agreed on, it didn’t go up.
On the initial communication, they were not sure if the move was gonna take 2 or 3 days, and it was a three-day move. The first day that they had to come, they packed a lot of things and boxed a lot. The next day, they came and loaded up the truck. Then they brought it all in the next day. They work like a team and they know what to do. They work like a machine and don’t even talk to each other. The head of the company came over to my house too and I was happy with his professionalism. Solomon & Sons is very good with the situation that I paid for. It was high quality service but the cost is actually cheap.
Michael, Thank you this awesome feedback.

We were relocating, from Florida to Texas, and Texas back to Florida. We used Solomon & Sons and they were great. However, I had a little issue. I had to call their insurance department to make a claim on one piece of furniture. But that’s part of the moving business anyways. Out of so many things that they moved, a couple of things were bound to break. I’ve already used them twice and the movers were pretty professional. And everyone in the dispatch department was really great too. I’ve dealt with Monica most of the time and she was pretty good. They were pretty affordable too. Also, what they had quoted me, was what I paid in the end as well. I was happy with them and I would use them again.

I was doing a long distance move and I had to deliver stocks. It was hard to do that by myself. I looked at six different companies but I went with Solomon & Sons because of the reviews. The move took two weeks. The pick up went well. However, I wasn't happy that they sublet the contract to another company and there was another company that delivered the stocks here to me. Also, there were issues during the drop-off regarding the installation and their professionalism. The quote they gave me was accurate but a bit high.

Jonathan, Eddie and Emilio made moving so easy. Was just across town, but showed up early and got the job done in less time than expected. Couldn't have done it without them. Best of all there weren't any hidden fees or unexpected charges. What they quoted me was what I paid. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

What antiques and household items they did not break in our move from Florida to Charleston they put packing tape on it. They were given a detailed inventory of items from a real moving company and underbid them so I chose price over quality, big mistake! They arrived to pack our house and finished at midnight, then they want to re-negotiate because their estimator forgot to include the boxes. They came about 4 days late because the truck broke down then after unloading our broken items told me I should have bought the insurance, something the owner told me I did not need because his guys are just that good! After this move we decided when we move again we would be better off selling our stuff and just starting over, it would be cheaper.

I was moving a full apartment across country and I didn't feel like getting a U-Haul. I liked Solomon & Sons' price and the cooperation. The rep gave us option to get more stuff in for the price that we're paying. And then we didn't have to list what they do. The guy that helped packed up the apartment, came in and was done within two hours. He did a great job wrapping everything and helped us put more in the moving truck than we expected to. The moving crew showed up on Friday when I moved out. It took about a week for them to get everything there. Solomon & Sons' was the best quote that I got. It was right on ahead. I'd use Solomon & Sons again.

My husband passed away and I needed to move to be closer to my son but I couldn’t do it by myself. So, I looked at about four different moving companies. Solomon & Sons guaranteed to me that they wouldn’t contract the job to another company. The quote for the delivery timeline though was in two to 14 days, but it took about 21 days. But, overall, my experience with Solomon & Sons was very good. Their moving crew was super and I liked their efficiency and attitude. They were very genuine and friendly.

I had to move back home from Miami to Las Vegas and I had a lot of boxes and things to move back. I looked at three different moving companies and found out that Solomon & Sons' customer service was good and their rate came in where I wanted it. The moving crew was composed of three guys and they were honest. When they moved the dresser, they found some money there and they gave it to me which was really nice.
Their moving consultant, Jason, gave me peace of mind and the only thing that he said that didn’t happen was that whoever packed my stuff would also be the ones delivering them, but that wasn’t the case. Everything got unpacked and put into another truck and I was really not happy with that. A lot of my boxes were crushed and there were some broken items. Also, my things left on the 25th and it arrived on the 13th, which was a big gap and that could have been shorter. But overall, my experience with Solomon & Sons was fine.

I was moving long distance and I couldn't do it on my own. I needed a moving company. I then did the Purple Heart Moving Group. The sales guy did a really fast sales job and I had to figure out what was happening along the way. He didn't even tell me that they were gonna farm my move out to a subcontractor, which was Solomon & Sons. The whole thing was expensive because it was going out of state but it was in the range of what it would have been with the big mover. But it could have been a little cheaper since they're not like United Moving Company or someone really big.
They charged by cubic foot. My situation was a bit different, however. I was moving my household from a storage to a home in another state. My things had been in that storage for a while so I didn't have a good number of what was in there. I just had the storage unit size. And I didn't really get a great estimate from that. I would have thought they could've figured it out like cubic foot that way.
The moving crew was just two guys and they were excellent, very personable, very honest, and very hardworking. Everything that we told them to do, they did. Also, the driver called me directly after he got the job. So that was good communication there. The move took two days, just the weekend. They loaded late afternoon, then they spent the night somewhere, and then the next morning I met them at the new house.

Hiring a moving company was more convenient for me. So, I decided to come out of pocket and pay for quality of service so that I don't have to ask friends for help. The young folks that worked at Solomon & Sons, Jason and Jimmy, and the rest of the crew, were more like a family company. They gave me good customer service. I had to transport my household good that arrived from Saudi Arabia from Miami, Florida to Suffolk, Virginia. It was a government move. The online quote was good, but they needed me to be more specific about what I had, so I had to tell them exactly what was in my belongings and then they gave me a quote which was fair.
The moving consultant was excellent. He gave me all my options and told me that it was the peak for transporting household good this time of year. It was friendly, light-hearted, and in fact, it was like I’d known him all my life. The moving crew was wonderful as well. They backed that big old truck up and got it in there, unloaded my equipment. It was wonderful. The whole adventure was great. I'm just glad I had it done and I won’t go to Florida to get it. It was worth every dime of it.
Dear Bettie, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve you and we here at Solomon & Sons thank you for your service.

I was very satisfied with the movers who came to pick up our goods. Johnathan and Emilio were exceptional movers, very efficient with their moving time and also great conversations to have. The estimate came at basically what was quoted, which I found that to be very impressive given my former experience with moving companies. Overall these two movers deserve a gold medal and I was very glad to have them load up my move from Miami, Fl to Los Angeles, California.

We moved my fiancé's daughter from Miami to Riverside, California for school. We live in Philadelphia so it was hard to get everything done for her. It was a whole big house she was moving out of and she uses a wheelchair so it was hard for her to pack. So using a moving company made sense and it was easier. We looked at two different moving companies before choosing Solomon & Sons. One company gave us a very high rate and then we spoke to Solomon & Sons and another company at the same time. The other company gave us a lower price but I spoke to Jeff from Solomon & Sons and he was awesome. He was very helpful and he accommodated us in every way possible.
I applied for an online quote to some website. Then somebody from Solomon & Sons called me and we went over all of the information. We were on the phone for two hours getting all of the information and pictures. And we already had an inventory list of everything that was in the house. My interaction with the moving consultant was very easy and it was great. He guided us through everything that we needed to have ready for them and when the movers got there, everything happened very fast. The moving crew was amazing, very helpful and very nice. They reassembled all the furniture, unloaded everything within two hours and got the job done very quickly.
We received a timeline for the move. We needed the truck to be in Riverside between the 17th and the 21st and they guaranteed us that. They actually got there on the 19th which worked out really well. The overall quality of service was perfect. The quote that was originally given was a couple of hundred dollars different but it was not a big deal. Solomon & Sons was easy, professional and fun.

We had a long distance move. We were looking all over the place and ended up going with Solomon & Sons. They had a good rating. We called them directly and communicating with the moving consultant went very smooth and they pandered what we were looking for and it worked out really well. The quote they gave was great. However, what I paid ended up being twice as much but that’s all right. They also ended up being a day or two late, but it worked out for us because we had not quite packed up all the way. I had Joe and Von and they were absolutely fantastic dudes. They were extremely friendly and we have a little kid who’s four and they’re great with him. They’re easy to be around in our house and they were very hardworking. The service we got from Solomon & Sons was great. By the end of it, it felt like we were just a family. My experience was great and I was very relieved.

I was doing a local move into a new building. The association where I am living in doesn’t allow moves during the weekend, and I wasn’t able to get a time off from work to do the move myself. Solomon & Sons was on top when I looked up on Google. I wanted to move as quickly as possible and they were able to accommodate me. I called directly for a quote and the consultation was done more over the phone. The moving consultant informed me what I needed and I gave them the addresses. I asked them for the timeline and when they were able to be out because I had to move on a Friday. Solomon & Sons did the moving for me and they were able to do the things that I needed.
The quote was expensive when I called them two days prior to the actual move. However, the cost ended up a bit more because we had some delays, but that was fine. We received a four-hour window that they would show up and it rolled down to a two-hour window. A family member of mine oversaw them during the move. The moving crew was limited but everything has been moved and nothing was damaged. That was all I wanted.

We choose to leave a 5 star rating based on our experience with Giovanni, our driver and contact for our move. He was incredibly detailed oriented and took great care to ensure we knew all of the ins and outs of relocating to a new state. He went over the contract with us and explained the fine print before allowing us to commit to S&S. Giovanni went above and beyond his call of duty - an excellent employee and someone who really takes pride in his work. He made the miserable process of moving much more tolerable. We would also like to commend Dean in sales for his prompt replies and friendly engagement. Overall, we HIGHLY recommend Solomon and Sons!
