I recently used Solomon & Sons Relocation Services for my move, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From the very beginning, their team was professional, courteous, and efficient. They provided a detailed and fair quote, explained every step of the process, and answered all my questions. On moving day, the crew arrived on time and handled my belongings with care and respect. They were quick and organized, ensuring that everything was packed securely. When we reached my new home, they helped place each item exactly where I wanted it. The entire process was seamless and stress-free. What truly stood out was their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. Moving can be such a daunting experience, but Solomon & Sons made it smooth and worry-free. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and friendly moving company!

David and his team packed my 2 gold trophies in a delicate box. The team arrived with assurance and handled the situation with ease! They were kind and quite professional. The online booking mechanism was user-friendly, and the organization promptly responded to my request.

The crew, were fantastic with my 3-year-old son, Max. They kept him entertained while they packed, letting him "help" by putting things in boxes. Pointed out all the cool trucks he'd see outside the window during the drive. They were patient and understanding when Max got a little fussy. At the new place, Ben helped me set up Max's room first, making it a familiar space for him.

This weekend, my wife, my two teenage daughters, and I moved to our new home. We'd never hired movers before, but it was such a great experience! We rented a truck and got two people to help us move from our old place to the new one. They were super friendly and funny, which made the whole process easier. They handled all our stuff really well.

Extremely bad experience with this company. Terrible service, hidden charges, no clarity on the delivery date or status. Our items were picked up a month ago and we are still waiting with absolutely no status or accountability from this company. Stay away from these guys if you want a great service and timely delivery.

1. They blatantly lied when they confirmed only their staff would pack. They lied about their expertise. They recklessly packed and destroyed our property. They intentionally damaged our floors. They lied repeatedly on the bill of lading. They lied that the truck was full. They are deceitful, unscrupulous, and overcharged us at every turn.
2. They sent unskilled labor who destroyed our property and left a wave of destruction. We hired them to pack our home and relied on their advertised expertise, but they destroyed our property, left us with an exorbitant repair/replace bill of approximately $35K including overcharges, destruction of property, missing items, and damaging our brand new floors Their negligence was reckless, willful and deliberate.
3. They falsified documents indicating we packed items they themselves packed—they packed every single painting, lamp, antique, appliance, fragile item (often without protection) & now claim they didn’t.
4. Gross accounting misrepresentations. Egregiously, and potentially fraudulently, they told us the truck was full (and charged for full) but when we demanded they open the truck, we discovered it was not full and were being scammed.
5. CUFT & fuel fraudulent overcharge: After we caught the foreman lying, he deceitfully coded cuft as “additional discount $765” instead of correcting the cuft, which inflated storage bill/gas.$2,000 in overcharges and excess fuel.
6. Intentional damage to new floors: We asked movers to stop using their damaged hand truck which was scratching and destroying the floor—they refused; said “We aren’t responsible for floors.” Their malicious negligence caused extensive and preventable damage.$11,600 This also means Solomon & Sons send their movers with damaged equipment which destroys property, then they claim the contract says they aren’t responsible.
7. Willful and intentional property damage: They jammed artwork without bubble wrap, scratched & chipped frames; packed ice cream maker inside a lamp shade! Of course it broke. They bent an Italian lamp into too small box and broke it; stored heavy box on antique bench-destroyed upholstery; wedged sharp objects against leather-ripped; unsecured wardrobe boxes collapsed-destroyed suede/ties/jackets $1000 dry cleaning; flimsy/no appliance pack-$2K+ (Jura coffee maker, bread machine, all worked before move, now have leaks, dents, broken sensors); cracked bed frames; broken vases/all lamps, china. Movers packed all, but fraudulently claim they didn’t to deny liability.
8. Packing overcharge: We paid $2,743 for “full packing service” but instead their deliberate, reckless “packing” caused extraordinary damage-we shouldn’t be charged for their intentional negligence.
9. Labor Overcharge. They said they were sending ONLY their staff, 3/4 men but only sent two. 2nd day, they hired two outside day laborers, last minute—charged us additional $1440.
10. Long Carry & Split Pickup/Delivery: Long carry charge for 10 ft.
11. Denied claims because we didn’t notate/check inventory at delivery/signed--False. We preserved right to pursue claim by signing “without prejudice” & they accepted it. It’s obvious there isn’t sufficient time to simultaneously inspect 250 cargo items at delivery and see what is missing- a cover for theft.
12. False advertising “Nationwide moving experts you can trust; Reliable award-winning service; Your move is simpler, safer, and more affordable when you go with our expert services.” Instead they deceived us, repeatedly lied, falsified documents, made gross false misrepresentations, took advantage of us, destroyed our belongings.
13. Storage Overcharge: Inaccurate & inflated bill-foreman manipulated cuft, failed to deduct unused space $2708.
14. Forced us to pay to release goods: Repeatedly ignored & refused multiple requests to meet and review disputed overcharges. Refused to let us notate disputes—forced us to sign/pay their DocuSign to get our goods; they owed us $4,913 but we had to pay $4399.
15. Movers abandoned all professional and industry standards. The massive damage was clearly avoidable and their recklessness so extreme, it voided their claim to 60/lb; their deliberate gross negligence makes them strictly liable.
16. Movers abandoned all professional and industry standards. The massive damage was clearly avoidable and their recklessness so extreme, it voided their defenses and contract; their deliberate gross negligence makes them strictly liable. They offered $700.04 for what totaled by using their claim system over $35K of damages.

Overall, super disappointed with my experience. The initial estimate call was fantastic, and I chose this company over other cheaper options because of the positive and helpful experience I had at the beginning. Unfortunately, that's where the "good parts" end. I was explicit from the beginning that I had a small end table with fragile wood bordering that would need extra care when packed. I was assured this would be done. However and as you can see in the attached picture, one whole section was broken, clearly from poor packing. A piece of cardboard was simply put over the top of the table and as items shifted, the box bent and broke one side of the bordering. The movers also broke a wooden bookcase. I asked during the estimate call whether Solomon & Sons outsourced any part of their move to a third party, which they said they do not. This is incorrect, because a separate company collected my items from the pickup location.
Aside from broken items, the worst part of this experience was the incredibly poor communication after getting the pickup scheduled. I was informed that I would get a 24-hour notice for pickup, however the driver only called when he was 45 minutes away. Someone luckily was home when he arrived, but I was frustrated not to have had more notice and my father had to scramble to accommodate. From that point on, I had to repeatedly call the third-party company for delivery estimates because the main office was no longer tracking. Several times that company said they would call or email me with information and none of which happened.
Even the claims process for my damaged items has been difficult and is still not resolved. I called Solomon & Sons, who told me to send them details and photographs, which I did immediately. After a week of no response, I reached out for an update and was told I would receive a separate email for a different location to file a claim. I can already tell this will be a long and irritating process. While I won't discount that others have had a positive experience, I am disappointed that I did not go with a different company and I would not recommend Solomon & Sons to others.

Read the fine print: Solomon & Sons' contract says they don’t cover “any damage to the interior or exterior of any residence, including, but not limited to, walls, floors, ceilings, stairs, banisters, carpets, plumbing, doorways, driveways, walkways, landscaping, etc.” The movers caused damage at both our move-out house and move-in house (patio door and hardwood floors). Solomon & Sons is not doing any repair or compensation for this.
We paid for a full pack and the packing quality was also hit-or-miss. A couple of guys on the crew did a good job, but the ones that didn’t caused damage to multiple pieces of art and hardwood furniture. A computer monitor was covered with a single sheet of paper and put in a box with electronics and a hammer with no packing material for cushioning. A marble sculpture was chipped because it had only one layer of bubble wrap and was put in a box with many other loose items. The movers even occasionally used our household goods (blankets and paper towels) to wrap fragile items instead of using packing material. We were not told the charge for crating fragile items until everything had been loaded on the truck (over $1000 per crate!).
Though they promised custom-built wooden crates, half the crates ended up being just them putting the item into a cardboard box and adding a thin piece of plywood on the outside. One of these crates even fell apart as the mover unloaded it from the truck. I will give Solomon & Sons credit for showing up on time, giving accurate schedule updates, and delivering items within the timeframe promised. However, the skimping on packing materials and lack of responsibility for damages they caused fell short of my expectations.

I have scarcely met more incompetent people in my entire life. Subsequent to signing the contract, all semblance of professionalism vanished. Every aspect of this move was complicated culminating in a significant number of articles (of my relatively small apartment move) being received with varying degrees of damage, in some cases so severely it’s difficult to speculate how the damage was even caused. ABSOLUTELY AVOID! I cannot emphasize enough how horrendous this experience was. The only reason to choose this company for your move is if you’re an idiot or a masochist.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Moved this past weekend and they broke half of my stuff including a television, desk, snapped my entire bed frame in half, stuffed lamps into cardboard boxes among other things. Their response? Not only would they not trash the things they broke, they left all the boxes and trash for me and my elderly parents to have to haul to the dump stating "it's illegal for them to remove the debris from my home". My dad nearly threw out his back having to help me carry all the heavy items. When I called to speak with a manager? He stated it wasn't in their standard business practice to get rid of the damaged items and they didn't have to offer any recourse. Don't make the same mistake I did. $5k in damages for a $4k move...

Avoid for long distance moves. Was initially quoted $5k for a move from FL to WA. Pickup driver then said initial salesperson was way off with my estimate, and my cost went up to $8k. Fine. So my stuff was picked up June 21, and the driver gave me a delivery window of 5-21 days. Initial salesperson said my stuff would likely arrive between July 5-10th. Waited. Received a call July 6th with an updated delivery window of July 14-17, which is past the window of 5-21 days. When pressed, the rep said, "The delivery timeline refers to business days", even though the company operates and delivers on Sundays and Saturdays.
Received no further communication about my delivery, and I finally called July 16th. Told by customer service that there's another delay, "I'm not going to sugarcoat it - there's no good reason" - and now my stuff is set to arrive July 20-21. This is an entire month I've been living in a new state without any of my belongings, at a cost of over 50% above my initial quote. Based on other reviews, I am extremely apprehensive to see the condition of my stuff when (if) it finally arrives. They might be fine for a local move, but look elsewhere for long distance. Horrible bait and switch tactics so far, with 0 accountability.

DO NOT use this company especially if this is a long-distance move. Insurance cannot prepare you for the hardship, headache and expenses Solomon and Sons Relocation will create for you. I was quoted a little over 7k for my move. This is after they did a video consult and wrote down all my furniture and inventory. They arrived and couldn't tell me if it would all fit until they put it on the truck. As the driver said ‘We’ll see. I think so’. They changed the price to 15k after all items were on the truck. Yes. More than double my quote.
They also marked out the insurance option on the paperwork before they present it to you to sign it as though it's not an option. Just sketchy, predatory, downright disgusting business practices. Trying to give back the keys to an apartment and have this evil company pull a fast one while trying to move to another state was a nightmare. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Another tactic they’ll use is to box all items so there significant half empty boxes that takes up space in the truck so you can be charged for overages. FYI their salesperson is going to conduct a video call and even though they see all your furniture, they will quote you for a lower rate and exclude some of the furniture they saw and documented. This is just to get you to sign up. My sales rep Matt even told me ‘it would balance out’ when I emailed him days before my move about my concerns regarding the inventory list and why he tweaked the list despite seeing all my items on video. Despite the high cost they treated my furniture like a $20 move. They damaged lots of furniture. Even something as fragile as a tv, they placed in a box with no padding. The TV screen was split in half. They are not worth the headache, I promise you.

My only interest is to praise and give compliments to businesses that are honest, hardworking and provide a good service. I rarely give negative feedback, however, I had to provide feedback on this company. My experience with Solomon & Sons relocation was nothing but unpleasant and horrendous. First, the quote I received from Zach Levine stated that my move was going to be $2500 and that my move was promised to be taken on May 24th, to have my stuff in Austin the last week of May 2024. Based on this information and the Google Reviews, I decided to hire them as they seemed to be a quality company.
Three days before the pickup date I got a call, and this is where everything started going downhill. In this call, they let me know about every extra fee I would be facing once they pick up my stuff. Also, they let me know of a delivery day change. Be aware they will charge you for every extra item the salesperson did not include in the quote. Such a nightstand that are part of a regular bedroom. They will charge you extra and call it a "long carry" if you do not live next to the elevator in your apartment complex.
The movers were on time and were pleasant, quick and effective. But they will write on your inventory in acronyms that you in the rush of a move, dismiss. My items were marked as "scratched" "all over" (see inventory pics and see my Items for comparison purposes.) My items were flawless, like new. At this point you are already stuck with them, and you really have no choice than to pay $150 each way for the "long carry". I got asked when I was available to receive my items, the"earliest delivery date," which I responded May 26th, my arrival to Austin. Lakeisha Bentley called me to let me know that from that day I stated I was able to receive my stuff, they can take up to 15 Business days to deliver. Again, not what they promised when I signed the contract.
Lakeisha was extremely rude, dismissive and had the courage to yelled at me over the phone as I tried to explain that was not what I was initially promised. She was not concerned or seemed to care and said that is what we have in the contract. I received a call from them on Monday, June 3rd, confirming my move was planned to be delivered on June 8th. (15 days after they picked my items) I got to know my move was actually placed on delivery, that day June 3rd. Essentially my items were in a warehouse for 10 days.
After I have been lied multiple times, charged almost $1,000 in extra fees that they never disclosed during the quote stage, and being yelled on the phone and having to spend extra money on all the inconveniences they caused. I received my items in terrible condition and a broken couch. Attaching pictures to reference the status of the boxes and my items. 4.5 stars? I cannot give 1 to this company. I decided to go to other sources, and I found out the reviews that I can relate to. ** Feel free to dig deeper, review other sources and see how bad and DISHONEST this company is.

After a six-month dispute for reimbursement for their misrepresentation and unimaginable delivery service to take accountability for an erratic third-party hire while unloading did intentional damage. The health challenges from my past, It is only wise to eliminate such negativity by waving the white flag. I share this review because it is disheartening these days that irrational businesses take advantage of vulnerable people; gone are the days of your word, and a handshake was golden for genuine services.
STORY: Circumvent reaction and defensiveness to their service obligations was insulting. The responses were untruthful, blaming our lack of communication and misunderstanding. I do not take untruths lightly. Everything I state is valid. We agreed to pay more for exceptional service from a "small family-owned business" with employees and no third-party hiring. We would have acquired a different professional moving service during our contract agreement if we were aware of a third party and were responsible for obtaining help or moving our belongings. On the website and the communication, salesperson Matt detailed the services, including that the jobs are not outsourced, assuring that full-time employees would handle our possessions throughout the service. He expressed pride in this service. My perspective of "bait and switch."
Bait: The loading crew arrived in a clean company truck with three uniformed, professional, hardworking gentlemen who disassembled and packed the heavy items fantastically. We packed the 50 boxes of our smaller items and clothing, and even with the extensive damage to the boxes, there was only one broken glass bowl.
Switch: An Allied semi-truck came with one unprofessional, hostile man who was not in uniform. He was already a day late, as he frantically expressed waiting three days for anyone to respond to his Facebook ad to pay cash for the job, which is not an employee, insured, or a professional service person, as was assured. He was hyped and anxious, rambling with frustration and adamant about delivering our items as he had driven 2400 miles, conveying he needed help unloading.
Fortunately, a subcontractor offered some time as I could not as an arm amputee with injuries to my remaining arm. My husband was recovering from neck and hip surgeries. My husband and I had to remove the massive amount of wrapping and repeatedly requested that he not slam and drag the dolly across our new floors. We gingerly asked that he place the rest of the items in our garage. He had already exhibited aggressive behavior by grabbing my phone as I tried to call the company. He had broken one dresser, table, and chair. We have several gashes and scratches on our floor. He forced and snapped the vanity dresser, flipping himself. The chair broke as he slammed it down; I watched pieces fall to the floor. The hostility of this employee was uncomfortable and threatening. It was exhausting emotionally and physically.
In the only conversation, my husband expresses our frustration and dissatisfaction with the arrival of a third party, one delivery man, and his attempt to obtain anyone off the street or the Home Depot parking lot. Stanley voiced disappointment and said he would investigate and call back; he never did. We soon discovered they fired him after that call. We attempted to contact the office several times that day and many days after to address this appalling service and hostility directed at us. We were assured and paid to hire professional movers, not one hostile man fired at my home, which only escalated his behavior toward us and our belongings. These damages result from a belligerent "employee" and should be the company's accountability if true to their exceptional service standards.

On 9-20-23, Solomon and Sons moved us from CT to FL, providing us with one of the worst experiences of our lives. They first greatly overcharged on the original estimate, saying we had more items than anticipated. We were blamed for this. Then they used a rental truck and charged a shuttle fee because they said they couldn't get their truck in, which turned out to be untrue. They next Padded the volume. The Uhaul truck used has a volume of 1682 cubic feet, which was confirmed via a call to Uhaul directly. The mover charged for 1800 cf, which affected the line haul, fuel and shuttle charges. Complaining through the Better Business Bureau was a complete waste of time. They were no help and all the company gave was nonsensical answers. Anyone with similar issues of fraud should try FMCSA.GOV, as we have.

I had a horrible experience with Solomon & Sons Relocation Services. Based on these reviews, I was expecting a top-notch service and all I received was a sub-par service with hidden fees. From the beginning they were trying to get money out of me. They hooked us with a quote that was really cheap compared to other service. When they arrived to the place of pickup they stated that they needed to charge all these extra things that we had not agreed upon. They wanted to charge for packing boxes, when they hadn't explained that packing was another charge and had already promised us a full-service that included packing, but hadn't included those fees in the quote.
They told me that they could review the recordings. They did not want to provide us with the recordings because they knew that we had asked for them to pack the boxes and they did not include that charge in the quote. The foreman that handled our move, David **, was extremely rude and commanding. He acted like he owned the place. From the beginning, he seemed to be looking for things to charge extra for. He also broke a mirror and said that even when you claim it, it is only a few bucks from the insurance that you are going to get...
Needless to say, he acted careless during the move. When delivering the items, the moving company wanted to charge us the shuttle fee, even when the truck could be parked in the alley right next to our building. The trucker had not even seen the parking space in person before deciding that "he couldn't park there". Once he saw that the alley, he had no way of disputing that the truck could go there. The foreman also had misrepresented the state of my items, saying that everything was broken, old, chipped when everything was less than 1 year old and in good state. My wife said she never wanted to move again with any company because of our experience with this horrible company. 80 days later, we still haven't received our compensation for the mirror and office desk that they broke.

SOLOMON & SONS • Based on my items in storage, my estimate of the move cu ft was 400 and Jordan’s estimate was 530 cu ft. He provided an estimate of $3,653 which included $500 for the mid-point and a $200 Sr. Citizen Discount. He assured me that the truck could make it to the house but would have to back up to depart – no problem.
• The coordinator, who was responsible for the labelling of the parcels, did miss-label/miss packages or other errors(?) about 3 times. I am not sure if this played a part in my now forever missing items? • With the truck loaded, I took pics of the inside of the truck and the final size of the load. Then Forrest told me the load was 200 cu ft over the 530 (a 37% increase in Jordan’s estimate of 530 cu ft. (now 330 cut ft more than my 400 cu ft.) and the new total price was $4,687 first quoted by Jordan, so another $1,034 in fee! I was astounded.
• Reviewing the pictures compared to the dimensions of the truck, I concluded that the load was 400 cu ft as I had predicted, less than Jordan estimated, and far less than the 530 plus 200 that had calculated. • I contacted their customer care guy Stanley, who asked his own team casually, when my items were on a pallet…”guys, what cu ft is that?”…Their answers: “400 cu ft.” • Stanley quickly informed me that he had contacted Jordan and all agreed the 400-cu ft was accurate, so I only owed a small balance of $276!
• The last two items unloaded were 1) a box clearly labeled by me as mine, but with no sticker, and 2) my grandfather’s 90-year-old antique smoking cabinet. • Upon my own unpacking, I noted there were no kitchen boxes (no dishes, no small kitchen appliances, no glasses, no Bronze Arcosanti art bells, none of my ceramics (mine or mother from her childhood), no teapots and ceramic tea sets, plus more. • I contacted Stanley. My small moved took ten days, so either sat somewhere, or was I the LAST move of a larger truck? “Please advise, and would he please enquire of the previous/following other stops, if they had any of my boxes?” I heard nothing back from anyone at S&S or Stanley.
• On 24 April: I called Stanley: The only thing I care about is ....IF YOU CAN ASK THE OTHERS AND GET A FINAL ANSWER BY THE END OF THIS WEEK? 1) if they have searched for the boxes of mine? 2) if they will look if they have them? 3) if yes they will look, will they look by the end of this week? I never heard again from Solomon & Sons, nor any did I have any response from Stanley on my missing boxes, or any results of any inquiry of their locations at other delivery locations. Conclusion: They acted honest on the REAL PRICE...but never responded on my missing items. These were family heirlooms of little weight so not worth a $ Claim based on weight only. Very distressing experience all in all.

They were completely careless and obviously threw everything around, Thousands of dollars in damage, so unreal and such a shame. Dealing with their insurance company now. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY! This was the absolute worst experience. They start out great and make you believe they are the right and affordable choice, but you’ll end up paying double the initial quote in additional charges. They start out very responsive to emails and pick up calls until they have received your deposit. Initially, the salesperson gave me a pick-up date which was incorrect, and I had taken a day off from work to accommodate. Thankfully, Keisha was able to explain that the driver would call me 24 hours before the actual pick-up. I was called 2 hours before they showed up and that was a week after their initial scheduled pick-up window and of course had to add additional charges that were not originally quoted. I was then told that delivery would be within 4 days of the first available move in date…. Which was incorrect.
I was then called by the driver to confirm a delivery for the following date, which was 2 weeks after it was supposed to be delivered, and that there would be a “shuttle charge” of an additional $487.50. I expressed frustration in the additional charge and when calling management, I was informed that the truck broke down and my delivery was to be rescheduled. Another week and a half later I finally receive my delivery. Furniture is scratched, some furniture doesn’t sit flat on the floor anymore, irreplaceable and one-of-a kind sentimental items are broken, and my couch is torn. To make matters even worse they scratched my flooring in multiple places even after I mentioned that they were causing damage, no measures were taken to avoid further damaging the flooring. I advise you to move yourself or do extensive research before choosing a moving company but avoid Solomon and Sons at all costs! I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone!

Hired Solomon and Sons for a move from Florida to Georgia. First, the driver showed up on the wrong date. He showed up a day earlier than scheduled when I was out of town. My partner had to drive 4 hours to meet them right after they called. After the delivery, I noticed two of my items were lost - a kitchen chair belonging to a set of 4, and two shelves that were attached to a corner table. I know they were put on the truck because we checked our storage unit after pickup and it was completely empty.
After speaking with multiple customer service people, months of trying to get them to find the lost items, and filing claims for the lost items, they never responded back to me on any inquiries. Instead, the company that handles claims for them emailed me saying I cannot be compensated for any of the lost items because the driver did not put them on the inventory list. So they lost my stuff and won't give me anything for it. Of all the moving companies I've used in the past, these guys have been by far the worst.

We had heard all the horror stories with Moving Companies and were dreading the move so we went with Solomon and Son because they were recommended but even with a recommendation we experienced what others had mentioned about movers and more. We had a young guy named Jordan come out and quote us under the other company by $1300. We showed them around and pointed to all that would be included plus we even shared the competitors quote. All seemed great so we signed the contract then.
Then the day of the move came and Richard the moving crew supervisor told us a lot of things were not included in the contract and if we didn't agree to another $3000 they would have to leave, we were outraged but couldn't say no since our closing was two days later. After back and forth with others in the company we recouped some of our $ but not without a lot of frustration and loss of sleep. The day of the delivery to our new home they sent very inexperienced young man that could barely lift our stuff out of the truck they were not very careful and even dropped one load, luckily it was nothing of expensive but they did break the bins the items were in. I know now how horrible things are in the moving business and quite frankly there should be better laws enforced, they are a license to steal.

Matt, my contact person on our move (TN to FL) strongly stressed the fact that they ARE NOT a broker. They do not bid their moves out to other companies. They move you with their trucks, their guys. He was quite likable, and I bought the hype, so I signed with them even though they weren't the lowest estimate. I was most concerned with getting my things as quickly as possible, and he stressed that although they legally have 10 days to deliver, they usually deliver in three or four. That sounded great.
Fast forward a few weeks when the driver showed up on the move date. He told me he wouldn't be delivering my items for TWELVE days (at the earliest)! This was so far out of left field I couldn't believe it. The drivers ended up waiting around for hours while I went back and forth with Customer Service only to be told there was nothing they could do. On top of it all, I was going to be on vacation the day they said they could deliver. Since they gave me zero solutions, and I had to move, I bought a new plane ticket (my expense) for a day later and shortened my vacation.
The move took so long with only two men, and at the end, he said he had bad news and that my charge was going to be FIFTY PERCENT more than the estimate (THEIR estimate with accurate information). When I asked what would happen if I didn't agree, he said they would take 40% of the items back off the truck. When I asked how often this happens with Solomon and Sons, he said the estimate has been too low on EVERY job he has ever done except ONE!
Upon delivery (TWELVE days later), the driver said the truck wouldn't fit, and they had to offload to a different truck for another $750 charge (even though Matt claimed he researched all this before the move, and there wouldn't be a charge). Again, just apologies. I also watched my dining room table fall to the ground because they had leaned it on its side. This is by far my most expensive piece of furniture and the piece I had literally told them was the only one I truly cared about. Huge gash on the top. Tons of boxes were crushed, dishes broken, tables broken, missing items, and EVERY lamp was broken. Every one.
When the move was over, I called Matt to get some resolution to some of these issues. After promising to get back to me twice with no response, I gave up and was just thankful this nightmare was over. I am in the process of filing a claim, and I will update my review after I see if there is appropriate resolution on that front. Moves can be tough, but don't make yours a nightmare like I did. Please know what you're getting into before you sign with Solomon & Sons Relocation Services. NOTE: I have moved with professional moving companies four times (all brokers by the way)....one local move and three interstate moves. Twice I was charged more than the estimate, but it was reasonable. I have never filed a claim or left a bad review.

The rep was very good and the crew was excellent. I was totally pleased. It's the first time I've ever used Solomon & Sons and it worked out very well. There was nothing broken and they did a good job.

The crew that picked up and the crew that dropped off were both quick and diligent. When I started the process, I wanted to pay with my credit card. Then in the middle of it, I was told no. I told them, "The person I talked to in the beginning said I could pay everything with my credit card and that's what I'm gonna do." They ended up doing it anyway. But they had to keep me on the line a little bit more to get that done.

Everything went well with my move with Solomon & Sons. It ended up being way more expensive than we expected, but that was because my poor wife was like, “Let me handle it.” and she was way under of boxes. But no complaints. The team that came to the house in Maryland was great. The driver was absolutely awesome. He worked with his guys as well. He was really helpful in describing the paperwork. He knew his stuff. They also cleaned up. They put everything together and put things where we asked them to. And nothing to my knowledge was damaged. All in all, it was nice.

I had a great experience with Solomon and Sons from the beginning to the end. They were super polite and did everything as they should. They were very delicate with my things. If I have to do another move, I will definitely call them back.

I went through NewLeaf and they picked Solomon & Sons. With Solomon & Sons, it was really good but NewLeaf never told me that they were an independent broker that would schedule and plan the move. Other than that, Solomon had a good crew. They did a good job and I was very happy with them.

I liked the rep that I talked to and they were cheaper. They were 30% lower than other companies. The move met the timeline they gave and the crew was good. I had furniture in Florida that needed to be in Pennsylvania and they made that happen. They did exactly what they were supposed to do.

We had some issues where they didn't come over to see the apartment. They FaceTimed. They might have made some incorrect assumptions because when they came over to pack everything up, there were things they didn't expect to take and they said they couldn't take them. We were annoyed about that whole thing and just sort of went with it. We called to complain and they discounted us several hundred dollars. They were responsive to that. They delivered on time and the guys that brought it all in and did some unpacking were very nice. They were better than the people that packed it up who could have been a little more careful in the packing. They broke a desk. They should have taken the legs off. But I took pictures and they sent me the form. They were very polite.

I liked Solomon & Sons when I talked to them and I could not have been happier with what they did. This was a move from Florida to Maine and it is not easy to find that kind of operation. I called them on a Friday and they asked if I could be ready the next day. I couldn't so they packed on Monday. I had everything packed up in Miami and it arrived in Maine in six days, which is unheard of. I've never had such a service from a moving company, ever. I would go back to them in a heartbeat.

The movers were very nice and professional. It took forever on moving day but they were very careful. There were very knowledgeable about what we would need, what our expectations were, and how the process would work for the storage. They were a little small but they were hard workers and they did the job. Solomon & Sons is honest and they tell you like it is. They try to get as much information from you as possible as far as quantities and how the packaging gets done. That's the easy part with them.

Everything they did was great. The quote changed a little bit but that was expected because you don't know what's on the other end until you get there. The movers were very good people to work with. I would recommend people in the future if they needed somebody to move for them.

The initial quote and the final bill had a huge difference. The drivers were driving an 18-wheeler so they couldn't park it. So, they had to rent a truck and I had to pay for that as well. But they met the timeline. Solomon & Sons has great customer service and the rep was awesome. I'm not happy about the price, but it happens. The moving crew were fast. They came around noon and they were done by 2:00.
The only thing that worried me, but since I was in need, was that once you made a reservation with Solomon & Sons, they take out $800. You cannot cancel it and get that money back. But they were pleasant when I couldn't find anybody else and the other people were asking me for more money. The money bothered me so much, maybe because of what was happening. But it’s fair. They're not the issue. It’s me. They were very helpful and I was able to do certain things online because I had so much going on. And they took everything for me. When the reps got to Florida, they put everything in the storage and made sure that they fit. So, I appreciate that part. They were going above and beyond.

I booked a move from Miami to Denver with this company on 8/26/2022, the entire time they reassured me (and it says so on their website and on consumer affairs) that their movers are employees of the company, not contractors, they show up in uniform, the move would be fast and efficient because they have their own trucks, they are professional movers with custom packaging and ensure the safe and timely arrival of my items. None of this was true. They were 3 days late to pickup date, charged me an "after hours moving fee" even though the movers left my apartment before 5pm, left me no time to properly vacate my apartment before lease ended. Delivery took 24 days to arrive. There was 0 communication from the company during this time, and I was even told to stop requesting an update as to where my items were and when they'd arrive.
Upon arrival, the movers wanted to charge me additional fees because there were cars illegally parked in the loading zone. The driver and assistant only spoke Russian, making communication impossible. The truck was NOT a Solomon and Son's truck, and the 2 movers (not in uniform) informed me they were contractors contacted that same morning to help with the move. They had never heard of solomon and sons before. I witnessed them dropping high value items ($800 piano keyboard and the stand for my $4,500 TV) from their truck onto the ground, they shattered glass furniture ($1,000 TV stand) and every single box was damaged. They refused to unpack/reassemble items they were supposed to unpack until the 2 contractor movers said they would help.
When they were leaving, I did not want to sign ANY documents because of all the damage. The Russian assistant lady told me "do not worry, we have insurance, you will be compensated, sign these papers or else we can not leave." They did not allow me to read through the documents and did not leave me a copy for my records. They did not even have my inventory list for me to review before they left. They forced me to sign incorrect documents for the wrong customer under the condition that I would receive copies later on and everything would be resolved. Even the movers thought it was extremely suspicious that the Russian assistant did not want to leave a copy of the documents with me. After they left and I started unpacking, I realized there were 2 boxes missing with close to $800 worth of possessions.
Upon reviewing my insurance claim, they said they cannot do anything about the missing boxes because “I signed my inventory list on dropoff” except that I did not. You will notice the signature on the attached inventory list IS NOT my signature that is on the pickup side or the bill of landing. I was given an inventory list for a different customer and was told that the truck drivers would not leave until it was signed. I have 0 copies of my documents and the company did absolutely nothing to resolve any of these issues. They are falsely advertising on their website and consumer affairs the services they provide.
They are stealing people's valuable possessions and doing nothing about it. They are forcing people to sign incorrect documents to cover themselves and getting away with charging people thousands of dollars for the worst moving services imaginable. I paid this company $4,800, claimed close to $2,000 in damages, and they are offering me $142 in resolution. After waiting over a month for my delivery to arrive and dealing with the worst movers and customer service of any company I have ever experienced, this is unacceptable. They are lying to consumers and getting away with it. Businesses like this should not be able to stay in operation. Stay away from these movers at all costs. They will not help you if anything goes wrong and will not update you along the way.

The broker did a horrible job of estimating. Once Solomon & Sons got there, they had to reevaluate everything. The estimations were way off. But Solomon & Sons did everything they could to help us. I would use them again.

The rep was very clear. He applied my discount as a military personnel. I was satisfied with that. There was a difference of $35 in the initial quote and ending bill, but it wasn't that much. The representative told me that I did not get a quote for packing materials.

The service was great. However, I paid $100 to move a toolbox but they dropped the toolbox. That was what irritated me. The tools were all over the place. Fortunately, the drawers were not damaged.

The pickup was fantastic. They were prompt and everybody was really very polite. But there was a good amount of fees associated when they picked up. They charged $500 more than what the quote was. That wasn't great, but the movers were fantastic. Everybody's very personable so it was a good experience.
