I thought ordering from singer.com would be better than purchasing from a 3rd party, but I was wrong. I ordered a Singer HD6800 and a Singer HD0450S. Out of the box, the machine came with a bent needle and after a few hours, the sewing machine stopped working. I asked about returning the sewing machine, as I had only had it for less than 30 days, but was told it was impossible.
I needed a sewing machine and mistakingly ordered another HD6800 from singer.com and even though their processing time says 1-2 business day, I have yet to get a tracking number or update on my new order. I called Customer Service several times and the woman I spoke with was rude and condescending every single time. She cut me off constantly, made sarcastic comments and even mocked me when she thought the phone call had ended. I am very disappointed, frustrated and appalled with the sewing machine I received and with the way customer service treats their customers. THE SEWING MACHINE WORKED FOR 1 DAY!

I purchased a machine with Singer and the very first time I removed it from the box and turned it on it stopped working in less than 5 min. The machine shut off and would not turn back on. I called Singer and after a very long waiting time, I was told to bring it to a warranty center. So I did it. It was on 02-21-2023, but now more than a month later no one can give me a timeline of when my machine will be back or what to expect. When calling Singer customer care support they're very unhelpful and just keep repeating that they "have no control over it" and that "the machine needs to go to a warranty center" which is not my point at all. Now I'm stuck calling the Warranty Center, Singer, getting no support, and not having the product I paid for. It's the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Singer not taking payment for those deals. Quantum Stylist 9960 & presser fit kit, bobbins, and a presser foot in cart. Exclusive promo code. Getting a deal will equalize having to address issues reviewers said to encounter with the machine. Noted before checking out: You "may" need to call bank/card issuer. Thought of it: Card holder, billing and mailing address matched. TWO different cards declined, one of which I've used for 18 years, during checkout. So Singer sends me exclusive code off that I wasn't suppose to use. Two different cards; two different payment institutions. Sure it will not hold cart pricing until cc company sends snail mail code for purchase at Singer... A first I've ever encountered. Livid... Never Singer.

I purchased a sewing machine from Singer. After about 6 uses a couple of the electronic features stopped working. I called Singer as the machine was still under warranty. I was informed they have no repair centers in the State of Colorado for several years. I would have to pay to ship my machine to the one in Kansas. I would check with Singer where their repair centers are located before you purchase one of their machines or know that it’s going to cost you $$$ in shipping cost to get it repaired under warranty.
Thank you for your feedback. Machines purchased from an authorized retailer or dealer include a limited manufacturer's warranty. Under the terms and conditions, Singer will cover the parts, labor, and return shipping for the mechanical portion of the warranty. Please know, the warranty time period will vary based on the machine model and begins on the date of purchase.

My daughter purchases a Singer Serger S0230 $199.99 on 4/19/21 on Amazon for my Mother's Day present which I got on 5/8/21 and did not get the receipt from her until 6/3/21. Out of return status for Amazon. The scissor did not work 'out of the box'. I called Singer Customer Service and was instructed to take it to a Certified Singer Repair Shop - nearest to me in Kansas!! One hour and 48 minutes away. I took it to local Repair Shop 20 minutes away on 6/14/21. Cost $109.95. I used it. Clanging sound and scissor stopped working again. Took it back to my local repair shop 9/7/21. She fixed it. Came from the manufacture with parts not in correct spot and screw that holds the scissors not tight. Another $109.95. I called Singer again. Sorry, it's out of warranty now. I'm not happy with Singer and will never recommend them or ever purchase another Singer product. When OUT OF THE BOX product not working correctly they should stand behind their product.

I bought the Quantum 9960, machine looked beautiful and for the first few months ran great. Then all of a sudden the machines automatic thread cutter started making a funny noise, cleaned it, worked fine for two weeks and it did it again.. Again cleaned it. Was fine for a few more days. Was sewing along when the thread starting getting one rat's nest after another. I called the number in the book and had nothing but trouble getting through. Finally got a number and the customer service rep told me that being as I bought it off amazon my warranty was basically null and void! I spent a lot of money in this machine and it was 9 months old and it went for crap!
I spoke to a reputable singer repairman in a local town who said that it was the automatic thread cutter that sparked a lot of issues ... after a bit of use it tends to start to disrupt the bobbin casing.. Some sort of shifting... Long story short he said they aren't worth fixing! I can send over 125 bucks Canadian for a bobbin casing plus whatever it costs for the thread cutter.. but I will have the same issue again and again as it's a poorly designed system. So.. here I am with what looks to be a beautiful machine that's now useless! Apparently the warranty isn't any good. Angry.. yep.. I have other places I could have spent that amount of money!!!!

This didn't make any sense, and they sure cannot blame it on Covid because Amazon get way more customers and you can still get to talk to them.

After waiting for months for the 9960q to come back in stock I got an alert that Walmart had some. They sold out before I could order. Bought one from Staples but they cancelled cause they were out of stock. Found one on Amazon, ordered it, received it, studied videos and manual. I sent in my warranty info. I started to sew but Bobbin Thread wouldn’t come up. Called Singer warranty for assistance and was told she couldn’t help because my warranty wasn’t any good because I didn’t buy it through an authorized seller. I guess the machine was being sold by a third party on Amazon. I had to pack up the machine and send it back. If Singer isn’t going to warranty their machines bought legitimately then they sure do need to advertise that. Is Walmart, Staples, JoAnns, Wayfair, etc legitimate? I don’t know. I live in a small town hours from a big city, my purchasing availability is limited.

This company uses deceiving practices. My wife and I bought a refurbished sewing machine. The machine looked very old and was missing a sitting support when received, so we requested for a returned which was accepted after waiting on the phone over an hour to talk with a singer.com representative. The refund money has not been received “even” after singer received their sewing machine over a month ago. Info and facts:
2. Date of purchase: 06/03/2020
3. Customer: Mary **
4. Total Charged: $158.99
5. Item returned and received by Nelson on Friday 06/12/2020
6. Tracking # **
7. Singer.com policy (I got Picture from singer.com website) says: “From the time we receive your return, it may take up to 3 weeks to process your refund. The refund will be processed to the form of payment used for the original purchase.”
8. IT HAS BEEN ALREADY OVER ONE MONTH. NO MONEY REFUNDED YET!!!! Called customer service over a week ago (which takes over an hour). And Susan said refunds take a month to be credited. Well, it has been over a month and no money yet. And also, singer.com website states 3 weeks not a month.
9. My personal experience. Never buy from a company like this unless you expect no reliable customer service and probably your money to be lost or stolen from a company that is being around for long very long time.
10. Personal experience: Deceiving working class people while board of directors, and top management make hundreds of thousands of dollars looks like a rip-off.
Sincerely,Ron and Mary

I had some issues getting my email correct when creating my account, and had to contact Singer's customer service to get it corrected. A few months ago I ordered 2 bobbin cases and paid for 2. When I opened the order there was only 1. I tried calling and got a recording that it's best to e-mail. I've now e-mailed twice. I understand that mistakes happen, but when a company does not make fixing that mistake a priority I stop using them. I'm lucky it's just a $7 bobbin, but I would caution anyone who is making a larger purchase, as their quality assurance for their orders don't seem to be very good.

I received no order confirmations, Then the next day I noticed I have been charges pending on both of my Credit Cards and still have not received order confirmations, I can not get anyone on the phone, sent numerous emails with no response!!! I only wanted one sewing machine in the first place and am now being charged for two.
Try to call daily and get recording that hangs up on you. I have emailed more than once to cancel both orders even though I have no confirmations, no reply from Singer.com as of today. Because charges show pending my banks can not do anything, so the $ amounts are on hold, lessening the $ amount available to use on my cards until Singer does something. This should not have happened in the first place especially with a major well known company. Still trying to cancel and have charges removed.

One year ago we bought 2 air conditioner machines for our family suite. One machine works very well, the other is not working at all. We contacted Singer and told them one machine was blowing warm air. They sent a technician. The problem was not solved. We called again, and again, and again... and again... and again... One year later, 7 visits from technicians, and the machine is still not working.
We asked to replace the machine. In fact we asked to replace it from the first day, since we thought it was a faulty machine from the start. They refused to change it. And just sent another technician to 'service' the machine... again! A couple of times we had to give discounts to guests because the machine was not working properly, i.e. warm air comes out, not cool air.
The manager at Singer Pottuvil Branch is never there. 8 times out of 10 you will not find him in the store; the shop assistants stare at you blankly if we are aliens, when we ask for help or complain for the 20th time. We bought an a/c machine not a hair drier. We dont know what to do. We are super disappointed with the machine and the service from Singer and we would like a new machine installed, not another useless visit from a filter cleaner who thinks he is a technician. Thank you for reading.

Gentlemen, Overall I am satisfied with the services provided to me this morning. However, I feel that I must relay the following information to you. This machine was purchased new approximately 2 years ago and since then has worked well with only occasional issues which were resolved by cleaning the machine. This time however the bobbin holder could not be replaced. The next day the following happened.
1. The phone number listed for customer service in our instruction manual has been disconnected. It took some effort to get a working number that I could call for help. 2. The CSR that I spoke with apparently cannot distinguish between a man's voice and a women's voice. Additionally, once this error was pointed out, the CSR did not have enough courtesy to even attempt an apology for this error.
3. When I told the CSR the page number and instruction number that I was looking at, I was told that that was incorrect. Additionally, a customer should not have to repeat a question several times before a answer to the question is received. Also during the conversation, I told the CSR the phone number that was listed in the instruction manual and it clearly states that this number is for North America. Judging by the response that I heard (if I heard correctly) the CSR did not know that Iowa is in North America. The CSR did offer to email me the instructions that I would need and I declined this as I already had instructions in the manual that was in front of me. (This manual also came with the sewing machine.) In the end I was given the name, address and phone number to a local repair facility in Council Bluffs Iowa.
My wife and I then went to the repair facility in Council Bluffs, Iowa and the employee there had absolutely nothing good to say about Singer sewing machines. He even went so far as to say the machines sold in stores such as Wal-Mart were there because Singer could not sell them anywhere else. He then offered to sell us a new machine at a ridiculously high price. The repair price that we were quoted was almost the same as the price of a new machine. After some discussion, we decided to get a new machine. It was built by your competitor and hopefully it will last for a few years.
Hi Troy, thank you for taking the time to let us know about the phone number and we're glad that you were able to be routed for help. We hope that you have had a good experience with your new sewing machine, but hope that you'll give SINGER another try. We are constantly improving our products and customer service and would love nothing more than to restore your faith whenever the need arises.

I have bought the Fashion Mate sewing machine online hoping it will replace the Kenmore machine which served me well for 35 years. When I have opened a box, I wanted to cry: the new machine is so cheaply made! I expect it will break very quickly. Although the body is supposedly durable and made from metal, it is not so for many essential moving parts and accessories. Such key elements as spool pin system, bobbin cover plate and some parts you will use to change needles/foot are all plastic and look very fragile.
They likely will need replacement with frequent use. You get only 90 days warranty on these and I see on the web a lot of people searching for help since these plastic parts break. I was hoping to buy a machine which will serve me for many years, but this is not what I got! My advice is: do not buy such a machine online. Go to a store and check that the model you would like to buy is not too fragile for your needs. If I were to make a purchase again, I would look for a model which has as many as possible moving parts made from metal, not from delicate plastic. Replacement parts are expensive, if you add tax (and duties, if you are outside USA). I suspect that they make machines so cheaply expecting that you will buy a new one soon, rather than try to repair them after 90 days covered by warranty.
Otherwise, machine works as it supposed to, not without little nuisances: automatic needle threader does not move smoothly, I have to push the moving part with my finger to get it aligned with the needle. It is not supposed to be this way. Initially thread tension was way off. I wasted a lot of time adjusting top thread (following the instruction manual) until I found that the problem is with erratic tension from the bobbin thread (not adjustable, nothing about that in the manual). I do not do quilting and embroidery, so I do not need so many stitches; instead I would appreciate truly durable and well assembled basic model, which Singer does not seem to sell these days.

I would expect a well known name like Singer to produce quality machines. The Prelude is hands down the most useless piece of crap I've ever sewn with. It constantly jams, cracks needles, has tension issues, loosening screws, goes two speeds, not moving and jet fast, the bobbin thread snaps, it jams CONSTANTLY. I've ruined thousands in clothing and am considering a lawsuit. Anyone know a good faulty product lawyer let me know. I hope everyone involved with the making and selling of these gets cancer.

I received a Singer Heavy Duty 4423 as a gift last year after my old machine died after 20 solid years of excellent performance. I have to say, within a month, it started having every single problem you can imagine under the sun. Tension, timing, bobbin casing, jamming, thread tangling and coming off of the guides to create massive havoc on my life. It goes 2 speeds - off and way too fast. I even caught my finger and stitched it up nicely. There’s a first for everything! I’ve already had to replace the throat plate because the needles kept getting damaged and had chewed giant chunks off the plate.
My latest and last problem, the foot presser pressure. The dial has no identifying markings for “standard”, and the instructions tell you to “remember how far you turned it, so you can turn it back”. The instructions also have a troubleshooting section at the end that indicate possible issues and what needs to be fixed, then recommends you go back to the part in the book where they tell you how to fix it, but never did! Not anywhere! I’ve read it a thousand times over, and have gone online to read the same manual - nowhere. Don’t buy this garbage. I can’t sew to make my income now, and can’t afford to trade this in without being able to sew. ** Singer!

Please know that I am an experienced seamstress, having sewn for multiple decades. I wanted and expected to love this Singer 4423 Sewing machine. Unfortunately, I have learned two very valuable lessons. #1 - do not buy Singer and #2 - immediately and thoroughly test & use any purchased item. Mistake #1: Believing that the Singer brand equates with quality. This 4423 machine was made in Vietnam. I honestly thought, prior to now, that purchasing an established Name brand such as Singer would be a smart move. Currently, I believe Singer has sold the name to inferior product-manufacturing locations. Quality and durability are no longer part of this brand and customer service does not exist. The manual is poorly written and in several instances, inaccurate. Someone who actually sews should do the writing and editing of any sewing manual!
Mistake #2 - not thoroughly testing the machine within the 30 day warranty period. So this weekend I opened and started using the machine. I read every word in the manual and watched all of the introductory Singer videos on YouTube (they are quite good, actually); so I felt well prepared. Sadly, the machine will not sew. Thread breaks after just two or three stitches, needle threader never worked, and now, after just two painful loud clanking seams in cotton fabric, the sewing mechanism is frozen. I re-studied all of the troubleshooting ideas online and in the manual and then, finally in tears, gave up. Today I called the Singer customer service. They will NOT help me other than to inform me that the warranty has expired and my best option is to have the machine professionally serviced, at my expense. I am the owner of a new but broken machine.

I received a shipping label December 19, 2018 to return the machine for a refund. That was the last I heard from Singer Sewing Company until January 8, 2019 when I filed a BBB complaint against the company. I had emailed Customer Care December 28, 2018, January 3, 2019, January 8, 2019 requesting follow-up on the status of my refund without a reply.
The day I filed the BBB complaint, I received a reply from Customer Care apologizing for their lack of response with a litany of excuses having to do with short holiday work weeks to warehouse closure for inventory. My reply to them was that my refund request had begun before the holiday and year end inventory. Had they not been contacted by BBB to respond to my complaint, I do not believe I would have heard from these people the same day as my complaint. They would have arrogantly been satisfied to have me wait however long it took for the refund to show on my credit card account. I closed the BBB complaint upon learning that my refund was showing in my account the following day. This is to me the ultimate cautionary tale of Branding. A company's brand is only as good as its least satisfied customer however long and established the name.
