Washing machine WA422 purchased six months ago. Worked fine for the first five months. Then machine leaked and flooded my basement. A nut loosened up and tub and basket disconnected. Basket damaged the tub wall and the machine danced all over the cellar. This caused a three inch gash in tub wall, poorly designed and cheap materials. Wish I had read reviews on Consumer Affairs before I bought it.
Reviews on some other sites were good but even the reviews on Samsung's website mentioned similar problems. Based on other customer complaints, problems started within six months after purchase. The first phone number for Executive Customer Relations was no longer in service. The correct number is 800-726-7864. I was not satisfied with the answer provided. Design flaws and numerous problems should have triggered a recall. BUYER BEWARE!

My husband purchased this washer for me when my old washer died. A couple months after we bought it the computer panel went out... which was covered by warranty. Then a year after that (warranty expired) my water pump went out... which flooded my mud room...luckily not too much damage. It took the repair men 1 month to fix it because "Samsung" sent them the wrong part. After getting the right water pump, it works great for 3 months. Now the ND code came on... will not spin or drain the water out!!! Called my home warranty company back out... will see what happens next. This is getting to be horrible nightmare with this washer AND SHOULD BE RECALLED!!! DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER>>> no matter how high tech it looks!!!! Samsung needs to pay attention to their clients. It is what keeps them in business!!!

I purchased a Samsung washer in July of 2012. The washer went out in Dec.2013. The drain pump went out. Called the warranty co. and a repair man came out and stated he would have to order the part. Which took 2 weeks. He came out again replaced the part. After he replaced it, I went to use it and it flooded my laundry room, hall and kitchen.
The repairman came out again and stated it needed another part. Came back again about a week later fixed it. It worked about a week. Repairman came out again and stated it was a wire and fixed it. He stated the next time to call the warranty co. A month later, it broke down again. Call them again and requested another washer. I called them back three times before I was told they would have to have the repairman back again.

I purchased a brand new washer model #wf365btbgwr/a2. Since delivery of the product it has not worked correctly. I have had over 8 service calls to the organization and they informed me that although the machine needs to be rebuilt and fixed, they will not refund or send a new washer. I did not purchase or intend to purchase a rebuilt washer that cost 600. I have used the washer at least 2 to 2 times a week, because it is my only means to wash clothes. Because of the issues, I am not sure what other problems have developed.
My understanding is that if you use a washer that is not balanced or will not stay balance, it may cause other issues with the motor or other internal devices. The washer will not stay balanced. They send new people out to test the washer. The most recent person said that the bearings in the washer are bad and the feet on the washer are not correct and is rebuilding it. This is unacceptable, because from my understanding, you cannot sell consumers broken items under the guise that is it new and in fully working order.

I bought this set 5 years ago. The washer will not balance and walks across the utility room. The heating element went out on the dryer. I had a 3-year service contract, it had expired. Now neither unit is working and it is just under 5 years. Really? Is that ALL THE TIME appliances have in them? So I went back to Lowe's and ask them if they could help me in any way. Nope! Nothing! I am done with Samsung and Lowe's. The other problem with the front loader is the odor. After each load I have to wipe out the gasket, the glass and prop the door open OR IT STINKS! Too much money for poor performance and limited life. Very disappointed and I give this washer and dryer a full 1 star!

Samsung washer model WF218ANB/AA was overfilling so I had it repaired and a part replaced... It is now overfilling a week later. Water level halfway up the window. Machine stops after cycle and will not rinse or spin. Sometimes the machine will not even begin a load, it will just hum. Tried unplugging it and letting it rest for a while even overnight sometimes and then just doing a rinse and spin cycle. Sometimes it works sometimes it just hums for a long while and gives a ND no drain code. Very frustrated with this Samsung Machine... nice blue color with matching dryer and blue pedestals $$$ ... will be hard to and expensive to replace if I replace it with a Samsung??? Would like my laundry set to match... Samsung washers are not made to last. Salesman at Lowe's touted them as being one of the best. My previous Kenmore washer and dryer lasted at least 20 years and then I gave them to a dairyman to use on his dairy... Samsung you need to do better!

I began receiving the error code DC on my washer model WA5451ANW/XAA in November 2013. I was initially unaware that you must use an authorized repair service otherwise Samsung does not honor you warranties. After unsuccessfully trying to fix the machine with the local repair company (6 weeks - 4 different visits) by replacing the computer board, I called Samsung and was given a local authorized repair service. Let me begin by saying the authorized repair service have been amazing in trying to resolve my issue. The journey with this company started in the middle of December. In order to diagnose the issue the repair service must use Samsung software. One big issue with this is that the software program is the parts listings is inaccurate. We had 2 separate deliveries of parts that had to be sent back because of improper coding by Samsung.
The technician identified the problem as a sensor. (1 visit) The sensor was order but they sent the wrong sensor. The original sensor was cleaned and they thought that would fix the problem. (2nd visit) It didn't. Then they decided it was motor with the a different sensor. (3rd visit) The technician came back out and replaced the part. (4th visit) That didn't work, so they went back to the original diagnosis and reordered the first sensor again. (5th visit) The correct one was delivered and they installed it. (6th visit) That cleared the DC code problem but not the spin cycle issue. When the machine hits the spin cycle, it doesn't spin, it starts the rinse cycle over in a never ending loop. Called the technician back out and diagnosed the clutch was broken. The part was ordered (7th visit).
Part arrived and was put in the machine (8th visit). We really thought the problem was solved. After 4 loads of clothes.... the machine began the rinse loop. It is now March and getting ready for our 9th visit. Very frustrated. I believe it's time to research the lemon law. It is now March and my machine still does not work. 5 months without a washer is ridiculous. Like other postings, it is very frustrating to call an 800 number and keep going in circles. There doesn't seem to be any person in charge who can help resolve the issue.

I purchased this Samsung WA422 washer after high ratings with Consumer Reports. After 10 months, the pump housing broke and flooded my washroom. If my wife wouldn't have heard the water running on the floor, it would have ruined the hardwood floors in the next room. The part was covered under warranty, so it got repaired. Two weeks after the warranty ran out, the washer stops in the middle of a cycle and won't run. All the lights work, but it won't spin and it won't pump the water out. It won't even run through a cycle. Samsung will not stand behind this piece of junk and recall it, even though the web is FULL of testimonials of this product causing THOUSANDS of dollars in damage to their homes. Wash your clothes by hand if you have to, BUT DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG WASHER!!!!

I bought this machine because it could do extra large capacity loads for items such as a quilt. I wanted to avoid doing lots of small/medium loads and instead do less frequent large loads of wash. The washing machine has no settings for the size of the load; it is supposed to electronically figure out the load size. Since the beginning, my "clean" laundry does not smell clean - in fact, it stinks in places such as the armpits of shirts. When I peer into the washing machine, there is hardly any water in it. There is never enough to even cover the dirty clothing. Samsung customer service was completely useless. Now I have this nice expensive washing machine that can't get my clothes clean. I have been physically pouring gallons of water into the washing machine. I wish I had never bought a new one.

The short story is the front loader Samsung washers have Quality issues. The service support is not showing good business practice. I've spent more than 2 Grand on what I thought was a great set of washer/dryer only to find myself spending more to maintain a product that has leaks. The biggest problem is the water settlement in the tube after every wash. This actually cause the next load of wash to smell. The Field support personnel did no help the situation and have shown little professional understanding of the product. I am advising to hold back on investing in the company's washer/dryers for the moment since the products give more trouble than they are worth. They should stick to computer monitors only......

After slightly over 1 year (14 months), my Samsung washer WA5471ABP quit spinning. At first I got the error code "Dc" and then after several attempts to figure what could be wrong, the error code "Dc" was replaced with error code "Be". I tried diligently to find an authorized Samsung repair service. I called the store from which the washer was purchased and they referred me to 3 dealers. After calling all 3, I found they were no longer authorized with Samsung. Then I tried the website, but kept getting a website error message - something about the page being busy.
I tried a few companies located through a search engine, but they weren't authorized either. After having a non-authorized repairman (who was highly recommended by a co-worker) come to look at the washer, he suggested the problem could be related to the door lock, or it could be related to some clips that hold the washer basin in place. It seemed I was getting nowhere, and after paying the guy $84 just to come out and offer his best guess, I called Samsung's customer service to see if they knew what might cause these error codes or at least be able to recommend someone who could properly evaluate the problem. He had no idea what could be wrong, and his only suggestion was to have me unplug the washer for 1 minute and then try again. This didn't work, of course. Also, would you believe they don't have a single authorized Samsung repair service in my area?
I live in a city of almost 2 million people with plenty of appliance repair services. Why does no one want to work with Samsung? Could be because they are impossible to work with. The customer service rep only offered to transfer me to another department who was going to try to sell me some additional insurance on my washer. He had no suggestions for how to get the unit repaired, what might be wrong with it, or anything helpful at all. He did offer the number of an authorized parts dealer - so that once I figure out what is wrong, I guess I can order the parts myself? And I wonder, how can an appliance be equipped with error codes, and no one - not customer service, or washing machine repairmen - can figure out what they mean? Isn't the purpose of the error codes to pinpoint the problem?
I am so frustrated, and feel completely helpless because my expensive washer, which is now out of warranty, can only be fixed by someone who appears to know only slightly more than I do about fixing this particular washer, and the only option is trial and error - order a part, see if that works, and if not, order another part. I have a Samsung washer, dryer, refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, and a couple of TV's and feel like the biggest sucker in the world.

Samsung front load washer model #WF218ANB/XAA - We purchased a matching Samsung washer/dryer around Mothers' day 2008. My first brand new, "fancy" washing machine and dryer were purchased from Lowe's on sale because they were a floor display. I didn't care, I was in LOVE with this set! We even received the 2 pedestals that matched for FREE! How great was that?! Well, come to find out, NOT SO GREAT! This set is ONLY 5.5 yrs old and we have already had to replace the heating element (thank goodness that's all it was) on the dryer.
Barely a week later my husband is doing laundry (yes, he does it when I let him) and when the cycle is over he opens the washer door and SMOKE POURS OUT!!! Just the day before my daughter and I had heard an awful noise coming from the washer. It was quite loud and when I went to check it out, I could tell that it seemed to be "out of balance". Thinking it was due to the clothes being uneven in the machine (thinking like a top-loader) I just made a mental note of it. So, when my husband told me about the smoke, I went to look more closely. THE ENTIRE RUBBER PIECE INSIDE THE WASHER IS SHREDDED TO PIECES!! WHAT THE HECK?
So, I go online to "check things out" and I come across TONS of information. In reading others' reviews I come across someone complaining about holes in their clothes... OMGoodness! THAT explains all the holes in OUR clothes as well!! I NEVER thought the MACHINE was doing it!! And that has been going on since the beginning!
Samsung, you stink!! We have had so very many of your products over the years but I can assure you after reading about your lack of appropriate response to so very many complaints and obvious design flaws, we will not invest anymore of our hard earned money in your products!!!!! And to think, I talked my husband into even switching phones from his iPhone to the Galaxy 4! If you don’t stand behind one product, history proves YOU WONT STAND BEHIND ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS!! You will not be getting any more of our money in the future!

Purchased a Samsung top loader washer from Lowe’s on 11/27/13. Less than 6 weeks later it just stopped. In the middle of a wash load it wouldn't drain. We called Lowe’s, who sent a repairman. He wasn't sure what was wrong but wanted to order $411.00 in parts. (He also spent a great deal of time talking about extended warranties and that we would definitely need one for this machine.) We decided no thanks, we want a replacement. Hubby called Samsung. They said no replacement. I called and argued. They refused. Lowe’s called and argued with Samsung for 30 minutes. At that point the store manager agreed to take the loss. They allowed us to choose any other washer that they had in stock. They delivered a new GE and carted away the Samsung junk. Thank you Lowe’s. We will never purchase Samsung again.

I bought this Samsung Washer Model WA50F9A8DSW/A2 less than 4 months ago. The first problem I noticed was that it would use 100% hot water on the delicate cycle, even when displaying "cold" as the water temperature. Now, the spin cycle is completely inoperable. I called for service and was told that I would be called within 24 hours to schedule an appt. Meanwhile, my family's dirty clothes are piling up. Due to cancer surgery, I cannot carry laundry to my car to take it elsewhere to wash and dry, and my husband is out of town on business. Not to mention that I work full time. I purchased a Samsung washer with an accompanying pedestal a little over two years ago and an extended warranty while it was on sale at a local Lowe's Hardware store. Within a year and while still under warranty with Samsung, the motor and electronic circuitry needed replacement. About one year later, the same thing happened just as the Samsung warranty expired. About six months after that incident, I contacted customer service that represented Lowe's extended warranty, who erroneously recorded the error message indicated on the washing machine's display when the machine malfunctioned a third time with the same issues.
When it was determined that the cost of repair would exceed the cost of payment for the machine, Lowe's extended warranty representatives declined the repair, instead, sent me a gift card that could only be redeemed at Lowe's. I wound up losing roughly five-hundred dollars ($500.00) during this exchange as this particular model was no longer available and the cost of a similar machine was significantly higher, not to mention being stuck with a two-hundred dollar ($200.00) pedestal that only fits Samsung products. A word of caution to those who purchase Samsung washers while on sale, be prepared for future breakdowns and ultimately losing money as the need to make another purchase will arise.

We purchased a Samsung Washing Machine about 2 1/2 years ago. On December 14, 2013, I was washing a load of clothes and the water kept filling up and would not cut off even when I shut the washing machine off. So I turned off the water hose leading into the machine and started the spin cycle. We called a repairman out and he ordered the main board for the machine. When it came in Samsung had sent the wrong board. So he (repairman) reordered the part that he needed. When it came in, he checked and they had sent the same part that they had sent recently. So he got on the phone and told them the exact part that he needed (needless to say the repairman was frustrated).
The part finally came in on January 14. Repairman replaced it and we paid him $253.00. The next day I tried to wash clothes and the buttons were all off. There are five rolls of buttons on the front and they are supposed to control their roll, but now each one controls the roll next to it. So in other words, the first button which is the Steam button controls the second roll which is the Soil Level, the second button which is the Soil Level controls the Spin cycle, the third button which is Spin controls the Temp., the fourth button which is the Temp button controls the Activ Fresh roll. So the first roll has no button to control it which is useless. I called the repairman again (fifth visit) and he came out and called Samsung again and he was told that they had stopped manufacturing the board for our machine and they had sent a substitute which has only four pins instead of five, that is why the rolls are off. So this cannot be fixed.
So my husband called Samsung and after the run around with them, they finally gave him a ticket number # and they said they would review the case and get back with us. Basically, we are out $253.00 plus the cost of a 2-year-old washing machine that we paid over a thousand dollars for. Also every load I wash I have to figure out which roll controls the load that I want to wash. I have no ideal how long this piece of garbage will work!

On 1 Sept 2011, I purchased a Samsung washer and dryer, dryer model # DV350AEP/XAA, from Lowe's. Everything was fine until 4 Jan 2014. The drum stopped turning. No error code was indicated. All indications were that the machine was operating properly, except the drum was not turning. Samsung technician came on 7 Jan and replaced the "hi-temp fuse", and the dryer seemed to be repaired as it functioned properly. On 11 Jan, the same issue occurred. Samsung technician came on 14 Jan, again replaced the "hi-temp fuse". Machine again operated properly.
The morning of 15 Jan, while running a load of clothes in the dryer, the drum again stopped turning. All lights on the control panel were lit as though the dryer was operating properly. Contacted the service technician and he stated that he would have to confer with Samsung in order to determine what is causing the "hi-temp fuse" to continually malfunction. Now it will be at least 2 weeks before he will be able to return, hopefully with the proper resolution! I try to be patient, but this doesn't get my laundry done.
I bought this washer/dryer set after having read the reviews. However, this experience has left me very skeptical. I did not purchase the extended warranty. This has definitely soured my opinion of Samsung products. As a consumer, I expect more than two and a half years from a product on which I spent a good deal of money.

During the cycle you can never see any water or suds in the washer/Clothes. The guy from support told me I always have to wash on heavy duty cycle to get enough water. First I don't want to use that cycle on all my clothes like the delicates and the time to wash on that cycle is almost 2 hours. He said there is nothing wrong with the washer and I DID not a technician to come out. This front load is new to me but I would think you would be able to see water and suds? I purchased the machine because I was not happy with a front loader and this one is not only no better, it is much worse. The water level is so low it never completely covers your clothing. The clothing barely swishes and the Aquajet button doesn't make a difference. A load takes an hour. The tub, although large, if you are under 5'6", you will about fall in trying to reach the bottom. Clothes do not clean regardless of the setting used, they are still dirty and smell. Lint and dirt will lay on top of the clothes or on the bottom of the machine (has to be wiped out manually). Again, clothing is dirty after washing. I wouldn't waste money ($1100) on this machine again but instead go back to a normal agitator type machine. What you save in water cost you lose in electric cost.

Last November, Husband and I purchased a newer residence and needed all new appliances. Every item including our Television and cell phones are all Samsung, with an exception to the dishwasher, which is Bosch. The 1st washer delivered by BB did not cycle, it would spin to clean the clothes or to empty the water. Because we hadn't moved to our new residence, in March, BB delivered an identical washer. I had a major breakdown in June '13. Then in October my machine sounded much like a "machine gun." I had the Samsung CSR listen to the noises on the phone. He ordered a motor and another major part. A few nights before A&E Service was supposed to come, my washer dumped all of the water on flooring. My laundry area is between my foyer and kitchen, all of it has hardwood. The A&E Technician said a back hose that's attached to a coupler was never screwed down in the factory in Korea. That coupler broke loose, tearing the hose.
I sent the information to Samsung, even pictures of the damaged flooring and an estimate to repair and replace boards. Their bid is just under $3,000.00. Recently we are now seeing black mold in our laundry area. Samsung told me to just turn it in to my homeowner's insurance. This company is not willing to take responsibility for poor workmanship. I will be reporting them to our Attorney General, and retaining a Lawyer. The only company that has been this bad, IMHO, was in the '90s, Maytag.

I am really frustrated with Samsung. I purchased a front load washer and dryer about three weeks ago. Although my problem is not as severe as some I have read, I think I just have not had the set long enough to experience the horrible things I have just read. My problem is that all the wording to identify the operating buttons is coming off. With this being said, you cannot operate the unit if you don't know what the button is for. I spent three hours on the phone with Samsung just to learn that the washer and dryer which I purchased about three weeks ago is not covered under the warranty for this problem. It is considered a cosmetic problem.
They would be happy to replace the control panel but it would be at my expense after only owning the unit for a few weeks. We asked for a new machine. Two weeks later, it was delivered. My wife noticed right away that on the delicate setting, it would start to fill with cold water and then switch to hot and stay hot. She stopped the cycle and filled it by hand to finish the load. When you set it on heavy duty, it doesn't even fill enough to cover the clothes.
We are now on machine number three and still can't get it to function right. It seems to me there is a definite software problem. When you set it for cold, you get hot and shrunken clothes! It doesn't fill enough on large loads, but yet on permanent press it fills so full you think it will overflow. I think it is time to find a different brand. Hopefully, one that works right. Or, we may be back to beating our stuff on rocks down by the river. What a pain in the rear!!!

Worked very well for about 2 or 3 weeks, then suddenly I get errors of NF which means the machine isn't filling with water. Have tested the supply, the screens, etc... but it stops filling about 1 minute after start and then gives a code after about 15 minutes. I loved it and now I HATE it.

I was excited to buy new appliances for my new house. I bought Samsung Washer and Dryer. I loved them. 13 months after purchase (and there is only 1 person in the house), I heard a large banging noise and the drum was bumping all around. I stopped the load... It was in the final spin, so put in dryer. The next load, the water just poured out of the bottom. Turns out the pump casing snapped apart. I didn't have the extended warranty because I work for a utility company that has the Appliance service plan, that covers free service calls, parts and labor. I called my company and set up an appointment to get it repaired. Seeing other remarks about this problem, I have decided to sell this (buyer beware) and get a Sears Kenmore Washer. I am 57 and have NEVER had a problem with a washer/dryer/stove or refrigerator.

Probably not telling anything you have not already heard about Samsung Washers. The AN218 with dryer cost me $1900.00 new (purchased 2011). The machines are almost 3 years old. Currently on my second service call but third complaint. 1st call out of warranty imagine that? Machine basically just about to shake the house down. Counter weight broken, machine could not be balanced. Sounded like a freight train on steroid's when spinning! (Cost to repair around $300.00) so far my investment $2200.00. Next call was to Samsung directly concerning what I'm sure everyone has experienced: HOLES IN YOUR CLOTHES. Samsung is just dumbfounded by this problem or they just chose to dodge the issue knowing it can't be resolved - my opinion, they chose to dodge it!
So I chose not pursue to it since they wanted their service agent to come out and investigate for $130.00. Just think I saved that $130.00. Next call is currently active. Called service, machine not pumping water out - pretty easy fix, right? Wrong, not for Samsung. Pump not the problem even though the service was sure that was the problem. So 7 days later the repair guy calls and shows up at 7pm, works 45 minutes, says pump is not the problem. Replaced pump anyway and says he won't charge me for pump - oh thank you considering my pump was not the bad anyway. So it turns out now the problem is the control board no voltage going to pump? Imagine that, would that not be the secondary fix to PART CHANGING! So you can guess service does not have that part either and will need to order (in case you did not catch the time frame of the amount of time it took for them to get it here was 7 days, enough time to get the pump in that was not the problem).
For every part that has the be changed by your part changing service agent you will need to expect about 5 to 7 days to have anything repaired on your dependable $2000.00 set of Samsung laundry! So at this point I have about 4 days before hopefully the machine has the part replaced by our authorized parts changer. Unfortunately this routine is a fact of life for the imported products and the service industry that supports these products. I have seen this routine first hand over about the last 20 years and it ain't gonna change! So far after the end of this week my investment on this Korean junk I will say around $ 2600.00. Ironically shopping locally for a used An 218 washer that runs, about $200.00. Probably should go buy one for backup and parts.

We purchased the Samsung WA5451ANW - top load washing machine June 30, 2012. After 17 months of usage, the machine started having problems with the final spin. There is no way to reset the machine, when you move clothes around to re-balance it, the machine starts the rinse/spin cycle all over again. This is a total waste of time, energy and water! Fortunately we purchased the 4-year extended warranty through Lowe's. The repairman was out this week - but we have to now wait 2 weeks for the replacement 'shocks' to arrive. The machine is advertised to handle up to 35 bath towels. There are only 2 of us in the home - never have we had 35 bath towels at a time in the machine - maybe a maximum of 10. So, for the next two weeks, in order to get the laundry done - there will be times I have to wring out the clothes by hand! I too read the reviews and found only good things about Samsung when I purchased the machine - (or so I thought). I also found out this week, that I could call the service technicians out annually for preventive maintenance. Which I intend to start doing - July 1 for the next 2 years.

I bought the Samsung VRT front load washer and the door locking mechanism gave me trouble from the start. It's a chronic problem in that sometimes it just doesn't work and I can't do the laundry (like today). I refuse to pay to have someone come in for such a simple repair so it's down to me to open the darn thing up and figure it out. The door hinge broke a few weeks ago which was no surprise because it's made of PLASTIC!!! And now a few days after I fix the door I can't lock it! There doesn't seem to be any reason for it either, both parts of the lock seem to be in working order but it's just not clicking.
Like other people who've written about this crappy washer I have had the moldy smell. I have to do laundry every day in order to keep it fresh smelling, which is a hassle because I prefer to have a laundry DAY, but now every day is laundry day. THANKS SAMSUNG, YOU'RE THE BEST!!!! I've also opened the lint filter or whatever it's called at the bottom of the washer and had the water spill all over my floor. Sloppy design. I curse the day I bought this machine. I yearn for a top load with KNOBS!!!! Sometimes going backwards is going forwards, at least those old machines never broke!

The exact same thing happened to my Samsung washer as has been described in other posts. The rather new washer came with the house and failed a couple of days before Christmas. The tub rubbed up against the drum and cooked some of it away. When I disassembled the entire machine to get at the problem, I found that the flange assembly was broken. The stupid thing about this part is that you could make it out of materials that would last a lot longer and be a lot less of a problem and not cost any more. The part number for this is DC97-14421A and I can (apparently) get one in Canada for $133.79. The local repair facility for Samsung says the part is about $105 but they charge $100 an hour for the work (that I can do myself). They won't sell me the part by itself.

Purchased a Samsung washer (WF 409 anw/xaa) from HH GREGG in May of 2010 when we retired to Fl. Salesmen said we could put what ever we lied in it since the owner's manual says we can put 26 bath towels in it. Sounds good since we don't own that many towels. We also purchased extended warranty from HH GREGG. The salesperson told us everything is covered. The extended warranty was with some company called NEW. Well here it is 3 and half years later and we have a problem with machine not spinning clothes dry. Called HH GREGG, directed me to aftermarket warranty NEW who sent out repairman. He said we have a bent tub. I ask how does tub bend. He said we overloaded it.
How can you overload machine that can wash 26 bath towels? He didn't know but sent info to NEW for repair approval, which they denied because they say we abused the machine. Called HH GREGG to complain about warranty they sold me but they said they are just a middle man to extended warranty company that gives them the best price, not the best service. The tech who came out was the tech for Sears and if we had bought at Sears they would have just replaced the washer because repair was over $800. After many calls to to HH GREGG, NEW AND Samsung, everyone told me "that's too bad, but we are not going to help you". So we went to Sears and bought a new LG which we had in New York and never had any problem with.
I will never recommend HH GREGG for anything. I will never buy a Samsung product and recommend anyone buying extended warranty make sure what is really covered because if it cost more to repair than the warranty cost they will probably tell you you abused the machine and refuse repair, which is what NEW did to us. I wish I could give negative stars.

I bought this machine on 6 June 2013 and used the daily, bedding and hand wash cycles. All worked fine until mid-November 2013 when the Hand Wash cycle stopped working. The drum wouldn't spin. Samsung technical support came out, ran the whole cycle, admitted that it was odd and replaced a part. A week later, it was still not working. Reported it to Samsung. Their technical team said there was nothing wrong with it. I've taken photos and videos of this but they point blank refuse to come back and even take a look at it. They've refused to repair, replace and refund for this product.
This washing machine cost me £700, is 6 months old with a 5 year warranty. The drum spins for about 3-4 minutes at the beginning then makes the normal washing and spinning noises, timer counts down, water drains in and out but the drum does not spin. The clothes just sit in water for 22 minutes and then goes into a spin for the last 4 minutes. There is nothing in the manual that says this is what the hand wash cycle will do. It's not normal.
I used a Zanussi for 12 years before buying this and it had a hand wash cycle where the drum did spin. It did the same in this Samsung washing machine but they refuse to accept that there might be a manufacturer's fault and refuse to repair, replace or refund. Customer service is completely unhelpful, even rude. I don't know what to do about this. I bought Samsung because of its reputation. Never again!

The fat congeals when it is cool and sticks to the inside of the machine (not where you can clean it though). I was told that if I switched to powder detergent, the problem would be solved. I made the switch and now no longer have any odor coming from the machine. Try powder detergent and I'm sure you will have the same result. Good luck!

I purchased a brand new Samsung front load washer and dryer from Sears in December of 2008. I immediately had problems with banging sound when the washer was spinning. I called Samsung Customer Service (listed inside of machine) who said that the installation was done by Sears. I returned to Sears and was told that it is normal for front load washers to make a rocking and banging sound and to make sure it was level at all times... It can shake itself off level. It had only been installed 2 days earlier by their techs.
Last week, I opened the washer after washing queen sheets from my bed and 2 towels... Smoke billowed out from inside of the washer and filled the room. Called Samsung, who promptly told me it is no longer under warranty and offered to send a Samsung authorized repairman. Today, the repairman showed up and said that the drum weld failed throwing the drum out of kilter and therefore tearing the gasket between the door and the drum. This washer only does 2 loads of laundry per week except for the weeks when we are away. The repairman said it would cost more to repair it than to purchase another one. The only problem is that they are located in my kitchen and they are blue. Of course they no longer make the blue. Plus if I replace both, I also have to pay again to have the dryer changed from gas to propane. I wouldn't purchase another Samsung product if you paid me and will make it my life's mission to bash it every time I get a chance.

My wife had long wanted the new front loading HE washer/dryer. Two years ago the Samsung went on sale for a seemingly bargain price so our 10-year-old "old style" washer & dryer went to a neighbor who is still using them without problem to this day. It did seem to do a good job washing, but took at least twice as long per load and would get hung up trying to balance load to spin & sometimes add another 20 or 30 minutes. Of course had to leave the door open when not in use to discourage mildew. Up until a month ago, was only disappointed in the purchase. Then the dryer started making a loud clunk each revolution.
Service man diagnosed as weld on tub splitting, $450 cost to replace tub. Still works, just goes clunk when the roller hits the broken weld. Only 1 month later, the washer in the middle of a load gave an error code & locked the wet clothes inside. Door would not open with or without power connected & code resolution said to call service. Warranty ran out 10 days before. This two-year-old $1000/ea retail price Samsung washer/dryer isn't worth the cost of a repair visit. I used a crow bar to open the door to retrieve the wet clothes. New (old style) w/d (not Samsung) will be delivered & the Samsungs hauled to the dump where they should feel at home.

We purchased a top load Samsung Aug 8 2013 from Sears. Used it maybe 20 times with small loads. It started to devour the clothes. Then during the final spin it went off balance and rubbed the top plastic ring to the point it now has a long hole in it. Filled the drum with plastic bits that attached to the clothes. I cleaned the drum out and tried it again; this time worse. Called Sears and they sent a repair person a week and a half later. When he examined it, he wasn't sure he could fix it. Ordered parts +++. I called Sears repair to find out what was happening. I was informed they were coming next week. I waited all day, no repair person showed. Phoned Sears again and I was told that repair was coming next week. I phoned every day to make sure they would show. They have now repaired it and my first load is full of the small plastic bits they didn't remove. I hope it works and doesn't ruin the pump. Lucky I did a load of things that were not important so the plastic won't ruin them. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

We purchased the very expensive and beautiful Samsung washer & dryer in April 2013. It didn't take long to realize that we made a HUGE mistake. The washer especially is not built to do its basic job. It does not get clothes clean. It uses too little water leaving dirt and lint gathered in between the creases of the fabric that are set in by crazy long spin cycles. No matter what settings you use, clothes will remain soiled. Don't even think about doing large loads or wash rugs. Everything comes out the same-dirty! You can't get things clean if they aren't submerged in water. Anything that I would call a "medium" size load actually has so little water that the creases of the clothes reveal that the water never even penetrated them. They have considerable DRY spots.
This machine is a joke. It supposedly saves energy and water but cycles are almost an hour long and because clothes don't come clean the first time, you will often have to wash them again. Way too much time and energy are exerted to do the same thing the old washers of previous eras could accomplish in one try. I will NEVER purchase another Samsung appliance outside of a telephone or television again!
These new products and specifications are a joke for consumers and a nightmare for anyone who has saved up their money to pay the big bucks needed for these new inefficient products. Bring back my old washer and keep making parts for it. It lasted 30+ years and is still running for my son in his basement. The repairman for this new Samsung just left. He has been here twice. Our warranty runs out this spring and this heap of junk is going to go out the door. Chalk one up for "fake" reviews on Consumer Reports! I will know better next time. Now less than 4 years later, the machine is having the exact same problem. Service outside of warranty is not as easy.
First they set it up and said that someone would call me within 24-48 hours to set up an appointment. This was on a Tuesday. Saturday I still had not heard from anyone so I called back. I got the same story, where someone would call me within 24-48 hours. When I voiced my complaint that I had been told this before, I got a lot of apologies but not much else. When I asked to talk to a manager, they were tied up for more than 20 minutes. I never talked to one. When I called back on Monday afternoon since I still had not heard from anyone, I got the same response except this time they said my call was going to a different repair vendor.
Later that day they called me back and said since this was out of warranty and I was out of their coverage area, I should find my own vendor. I called Samsung back and was set up with yet a third vendor. They came out a week and a half later (first available appointment) and said that it would be $85 trip charge just to come out and $800 to repair. On a machine that is less than 4 year old. I could never talk to a manager regarding my complaint and so I sent an Email through their customer care E-mail link (they give no phone number). I received no answer. I sent a second E-mail today so will see if they answer that.
Everyone on the phone was extremely courteous and nice, but delivered no results and talking to a manager or anyone who can manage a customer complaint was nearly impossible. I feel really bad because up until these incidents I really like and recommended Samsung and their products. I cannot do that today. Everyone can get a lemon and if the company wants to stand by their product when that happens, I would continue to recommend them. In this case with the terrible customer service methodology and not at least trying to work it out, I cannot recommend any of their products, definitely not one of the front load washing machines.

I was deciding between a new top loading washing machine and a front load washing machine. Not too long after purchasing my front loading Samsung washing machine, I realized I should have gone with my gut instincts and chosen the standard top loading style. What a huge disappointment my Samsung front loading washing machine has been!! I wasn't even aware of the problems other people were having with smell/mold. It seemed natural to leave the door open to air dry the inside of my machine especially after I discovered residual water would pool at the bottom of the drum behind the rubber rim. I also would use a cloth to attempt to soak up all the residual water pooled at the bottom edge of drum behind the rubber rim after each load knowing stagnant water could cause odor.
Little did I realize there were already ongoing huge problems for many other consumers of this front loading type of washing machine. I routinely wipe the rubber rim on both sides to soak up any residual water. I wipe the inside of the door. I open the soap/bleach/softener dispenser to air dry after each load. But despite my attempts to keep my washing machine clean and in pristine condition, the poor design of my front loading Samsung washing machine continues to cause odor and mold growth. Even after being vigilant in trying to keep the unit clean and air dried, my happiness in owning this machine has turned to frustration and anger.
These front loading style of washing machines always appeared to work fine in commercial laundromats but I'm guessing they wouldn't have a chance to develop odor due to repeated consecutive use. In my opinion, they are better suited to a high volume washing environment such as a Laundromat, not for home use. Front loading washing machines became the 'latest hot ticket item' to buy. Obviously, from the number of unhappy consumers, including me, the latest isn't always the best. I have another issue with my Samsung front load washing machine. I discovered the soap/bleach/softener dispenser tray cannot be removed for cleaning and it has been growing mold that I cannot get at to clean. The only way to thoroughly clean the dispenser would be to remove it. What a terribly poor design. Again, it's caused me nothing but frustration and anger.
Yet a third issue I have with my front loading Samsung washing machine is with the filter access/location. I opened the filter access door and unscrewed the stopper and much to my surprise, water gushed out spilling into the pedestal drawer and onto my floor. I hadn't expected this. To me, this is a very poor design. So now when I open the filter access door to clean out the filter, I have to ensure I have towels on hand to soak up the water or else be stuck mopping up water out of the pedestal base and off my floor. This really ticks me off. Overall, I am thoroughly disappointed, frustrated, angry to have spent my hard earned money on a product that I am now quite disgusted with. I am very sorry I ever purchased this washing machine. I would not recommend a front loading washing machine to anyone.

Major washing machine frustration! 2.5 years ago, I did my homework and purchased a not cheap 'dependable' Samsung front washing machine model WF330ANW. Within the past couple months, it started making progressively worse noises while spinning. By early this week, the machine was no longer properly spinning whatsoever to remove water. Today, I had a repairman come for $60... someone who I have used for years to successfully repair multiple appliances in my home and I trust. He said the spin bearing is faulty. The cost to fix it will be as much as a new washer. The repair would be very complex and labor intensive, and that this is typical of problems he sees regularly in newer Samsung washers. For 2.5 years, I did everything recommended in my owner's manual to maintain it... cleared the debris filter, cleaned the door seal, etc. This should not be unusable in 2.5 years!
I called Samsung Customer Service. After waiting to talk to an 'Executive Customer Relations' representative, I was told Samsung would 'generously' supply repair parts but any labor to repair this is at my cost. I also am expected to pay for someone Samsung sends to come to my home again to perform the diagnosis. When that person comes to my home, they will not have any parts to actually perform the repair... Parts would need to be ordered which could take weeks, and then I would need to again pay for another service call and the labor for them to perform the repair. In the meantime, I will have no working washing machine! I'm very dissatisfied with this Samsung front load washing machine, and very dissatisfied with their customer service! It looks like my problems are common!

To remedy your smelly washer, do as the salesman should have told you and just run an empty load with the deodorizer tablets that you can get at Lowe's to prevent the washer from smelling. You are supposed to leave the door open for 30 minutes after you wash a load of clothes to prevent the smell.
We got the VRT model front load washer and dryer and I wash clothes every single day and not any major issues yet... Thank God. You do need to remove the detergent drawer and clean behind there... I did not know that initially and found mold behind there... cleaned and no more problems. Thank God because back when we bought ours, we spent top dollar for them.

I purchased a Samsung washer dryer pair this past February. Delivery was 2/18/13. The first washer would not balance so Lowe's brought another washer the next day...should have been a red flag! The second washer balanced just fine and worked perfectly until about 8 weeks ago when it started to ROAR during the spin cycle. First it was only on the final spin…then on every spin and it got LOUDER every time I used it. Lowe's sent A&E Factory Service on 9/24/13 and I was told it was the bearings and that an entire drum assembly would be ordered and take 2 weeks for the parts to be delivered to me.
In the mean time, Lowe's Customer Service called to see how my repair went...I explained the 2 week delay due to the parts. They were kind enough to expedite the parts and pay for overnight shipping. The box was delivered on 10/2/13. Service was supposed to happen on 10/3/13 between 1pm and 5pm...At 4:30pm I get a call that they were NOT coming today after all. And I took the day off from work...they rescheduled for 10/5/13 at 8am...and they came at 8am...but the box only contained ONE of the THREE parts they needed to fix my washer. Long story short...I have yet to hear from A&E about the parts...Lowe's Customer Service said A&E only ordered the parts on Wednesday 10/9/13 and they would try to expedite them again...a follow up phone call to Lowe's on 10/11/13 gave me no additional information.
So here I sit with no parts and no appointment for repair and a washer that is ROARING louder each day...I only do about 5 loads of wash per week...so very disappointed in the quality of Samsung and so sorry I didn't read these reviews before I bought…it's not even paid for yet...as I used the 12 months SAC...and I have a piece of junk...DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG!!!!! I am just happy I don't have some of the problems I've read about here.

I bought Samsung VRT washer WF433BTGJWR on August 31, 2013. After using 5 to 6 times, the washer spinning cycle made loud noise and I had to exchange one. The exchanged new washer was delivered on Oct. 9. Due to suspect of quality, I used the washer right away. After the first load was done, I found our laundry room floor was wet before I was about to use the dryer. We rushed to dry the floor immediately. Then we wanted to find out where the water was from. We threw in another batch of clothes and ran the machine. This time we stood by the machine. We found out the water coming underneath the washer right away. Our laundry room is on main floor. It has hardwood floor. Under the laundry room is our exercise room in the finished basement.
We went downstairs and found our basement ceiling and carpet were all wet... We purchased the washer/dryer through Nebraska Furniture Mart. They asked us to call Samsung. We wanted to have our mitigation started right away. A long battle of who is responsible to pick up the tab has just started. Very, Very frustrated. We have to deal with water damage mitigation and not able to do laundry for a long time until the issue is resolved. I cannot believe the quality of Samsung. We have also wasted a lot of time.

After reading all the complaints about Samsung washers, I can see we made a huge mistake buying one. Do not buy Samsung washers or dryers.

My story starts exactly like Rosemary's in Garland, TX. With a few twists... The washer stopped draining and spinning. The tech from A & E Factory Service came out and said, "Loose wire, you're all set," and the next time we used the washer, it dumped the tank all over the floor. Here's where my story is different; my laundry room is upstairs. Let's make a word problem: WATER + GRAVITY = INCREDIBLE MESS!!
All of the upstairs carpet was destroyed, the living room ceiling came down, the laminate floor in the living room buckled, the garage ceiling is wet and will need to come down. There's water in the primary load bearing wall of the house, etc... (I must say that while I was not completely satisfied with the washer when it wouldn't drain, I LIKED IT BETTER THEN THAN I DO NOW!!!!). We bought our washer from Lowe's and they are pointing their finger at A & E Factory Service, who is pointing their finger at Samsung, who isn't pointing at anyone. (I guess it's considered RUDE AND dishonorable to point in Japan.). The whole thing has been turned over to my homeowner's insurance company and they're sorting out the mess. Meanwhile we are living in home that is just short of being condemned, and paying $17 twice a week for a laundromat.
Long story short, if you see this washer in the store do not be deceived by the fact that it looks really cool with its sleek design and digital interface. Do not buy this washer. RUN AWAY as fast and as far as possible.

After two years, my Samsung washer is not usable. It took me over 6 weeks and over 8 hours on the phone through Samsung customer service to get an authorized repair technician to my home. I just learned that the repair will be minimum of $850, about what I paid for the washer. The drum is completely corroded and does not spin well. It cannot even reach speeds required to get the water out of the clothes. They are soaking wet. The washer is useless without repair, and the parts used to repair it will have the same issues......
I started reading reviews and there are many, many people experiencing the same issue. Samsung is aware of the parts manufactured with inappropriate materials that disintegrate with exposure to water (not too good for a washing machine, which uses water as its primary cleaning component!), but they refuse to do anything about it. From my understanding of all the reviews, this is not limited to a specific model, but affects all Samsung front loading washers. If you buy one, you will be disappointed!!!!

I had purchased this Samsung washer model number WF328AAW/XAA in November of 08 from Sears. I have had no issue with it until about 2 weeks ago when I was washing a load of clothes and the machine started to smoke setting off my fire alarms in the house. I immediately unplugged the machine and contacted Samsung who told me that my washer was out of warranty. I then mention to them that the motor was still in warranty. They agreed to send out a company to diagnose the issue free of charge to me. Yesterday after several additional phone calls someone came out and told me that the external and internal tubes were damaged by the motor problem and that I should call Samsung to discuss what they could do for me as the tubs cost more than an entire new washing machine.
Today I called Samsung again and found out that although they would be happy to replace my motor they will not fix or replace any other part that the in warranty motor damaged when it failed to work properly. That is all they can do which will not fix my machine. I asked if they could give me the cost of the new motor towards a new machine purchase and they told me absolutely not. So basically the warranty they provide for their products are useless. They do not stand behind their products!

Samsung WA400PJHDWR/AA - Just bought the washer and (gas) dryer a month ago and ran about 20 loads through them and they have been working great. They run very quiet and the clothes comes out clean, soap and wrinkle free. The only complaint I have so far is the length of time it is taking to complete a wash/dry cycle which is 30% longer than I am used to. I am worried about all the complaints about the washer drain pump housing cracking and dumping 12 gallons of water on the floor. They have apparently replaced the pump housing with a different design to resolve this problem. I just bought my washer in AUG. 13 and hope it has the new pump housing. The other complaint is that the washer will stop while draining. The reading I have done is that the possible cause is a wire powering the drain pump is too short and will either pull free or will break. The solution is to lengthen the wire and reattach.
About the pump housing, there is a Samsung SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER: ASC20130222001 released 6/6/2013 that acknowledges the problem. It states that the old pump housing (DC63-01427A) has been replaced with a new one (DC94-03523A - estimated cost $15.11). Then took weeks to get the correct parts to fix the unit. The 3E error message would temporarily come and go until it just stopped working and was deemed irreparable 1.5 years after we bought it. Obviously we got a lemon. Samsung needs to give us a new unit or refund both the washer and dryer at full price. We will never get something to match the dryer unless they give us a new washer as the set is blue. We tiled our Laundry room to match the set so I'm livid. We purchased the Samsung VRT top load washer from Lowe's just over a year ago. Within the first year of having the washer (approximately 9 months after purchase), we have had this washer break down 5 times. The first time, second and fourth times the washer malfunctioned, the pump below had broken and had to be replaced. The other two times it has malfunctioned, the same wire keeps coming disconnected. The technician who came to look at it told me that Samsung has recognized that there is a problem and has told them how to fix it to keep it from happening again. He said the pump is held on with a very small and flimsy clip. He also said the wire that connects it was not long enough. He secured the pump and extended the wire. He explained that when the load in the basket is heavy, the drum drops and disconnects the wire.
We have made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (over 2 weeks ago) and still have heard no response from the company. We have had water damage to the walls, and mold that has resulted. This has been a major inconvenience. I am a single mother of 3 and am a live-in caregiver for my disabled father. I have too much time at the laundromat (time that needed to focus on my children and school work) and I have also spent $200 at the laundromat since May when our first problem started. I am hopeful that Samsung does the right thing. I am extremely dissatisfied with this product and will never buy another Samsung appliance again. I purchased a front loader washer and dryer from the Conn's Center on Stella Link in Houston, Texas. At the time of purchase I also paid for an extended warranty. My washer has started giving off an odor as well as my wash area; hallway and den area is starting to have a mildew smell. I have contacted the extended warranty department who sent out a technician. All the technician did was clean the filter and run a bleach cycle through the machine and left. The very next day, the smell was stronger. What he did was no different than what I have already been performing. Once a month, per Tide as well as other publications I have researched instructed me to do. At the same time, I drain the filter as well as letting the filter sit in bleach for a while.
On last Saturday, I contact Samsung's customer service and they sent a technician out from A&E. This technician did the same thing as the first technician. I have contacted customer service as well as the store and to no avail. Nothing has been done. They want to send third technician out to service the machine. As I have stated to everyone I have spoken with, I have three children at home, age 2 months, 4 years old and 2 years old. I cannot have a washing machine in my home that is giving off mildew smells because this can affect my children and could possibly cause death. Model WF448AAP/XAA. On 10-13-09 I purchased a set - washer and dryer. I had had two front load washers in the past and had been very happy with them. Never a problem (I wore them out). My husband and I went to Lowe's to purchase a new set that was more up-to-date! Needless to say I bit; "this set of Samsung is the best on the market". I actually thought they were. But, I did not buy the extended warranty as I never had had to use it on other products.
Within a short period of time I started noticing a musty/moldy smell so figuring it must be me, I cleaned it completely. Soon after the smell returned. A trip was made to Lowe's to ask about the smell. Of course the sales person was astounded that that was happening and proceeded to ask if I was washing dirty clothes. My response was, "No, I always wash clean ones (I couldn't believe she was serious but yes she was).” Well, I was sold the packet of "pills" to clean the washer as that would help. If it happened again, I should contact Samsung customer service.
As I'm sure most of you can guess, it happened again. Returned to Lowe's and they could do nothing as too much time had elapsed; Samsung could do nothing as they had not had this problem and must be me and I was washing too dirty of clothes. Still can't figure out what a washing machine is designed for - clean clothes or dirty clothes! Go figure. So after repeated attempts and probably like another post, I was put on the do not respond list. I have since learned, which I figured was the situation, it is a common problem with the front-loaders. Every couple of weeks I thoroughly clean this modern invention, have bought numerous brushes in all sizes so that I can get into every crack and cranny - becoming an expert in machine cleaning!
After every so many washer loads, I empty out the drain tube to up to 3 cups of water and clean the filter but my family still tells me our laundry room stinks. After buying this so-called cleaner I could have bought a new set of another brand. Class actions have been started against other manufacturers and was surprised not to see Samsung listed. No Samsung product will ever enter my home again. This was my first and my last. Vinegar, bleach or little "pills" have never cured the problem. These will not be sold when a new set is purchased but put on the scrap heap, creating more garbage. What happened to the old days of durable products and decent customer service?

My 3-year-old Samsung front load washing machine started having problems spinning. Sometimes, it worked fine; other times it would try to spin, move a few inches and then stop. It would then try to turn in the opposite direction. It would do this for hours if left unattended. I called for service and found that there is only ONE (1) company that services Samsung washers in the entire McHenry County (IL) area. It took them 9 days to come out and when the service man arrived (who could barely speak English), his suggestion was to run 3 loads with hot water through the washer and he tried to charge us $100.00 for the call. He said this works in 60% or more of the cases and if it didn't, he would come back.
My husband was furious that none of the 3 people he spoke to from Samsung or the service company would have told us to do this FIRST. We now wasted 9 days and still no resolution. When we refused to pay UNTIL we spoke to a supervisor, he explained that there was no supervisor to talk to and that if we did not pay him, they would put a mark on our address and would NEVER service us again! We explained that we wanted to talk to someone first and he said that it didn't matter and that they could not accept payment over the phone. It was pay now or be stuck with a $700 washer that may or may not get fixed by running 3 loads of hot water through it.
Guess what? The 3 hot loads did NOTHING. No one from the service company will call us back and Samsung Corp. said that there was nothing they could do since they didn't own the service company. We were told by Samsung that there was already a note in the file that it would not be serviced again. Not only is the washer a piece of JUNK but the Samsung Corp. and the service providers are both useless. They couldn't care less if their customers are happy or not!

When "1" was showing up on the wash cycle, it started making horrible noises and sounding off balance. By the time we got into the laundry room to see what was wrong, the washer had stopped. An error code never appeared.
While we were pulling the coverlet out, plastic pieces started falling on the floor. When it was emptied, we could see that the plastic pieces were from the top of the tub where it had chipped away while off balance. I called Best Buy and was told we only had a 2-week return period. I explained that we took delivery and left town the next day. It didn't matter to them and since we didn't have an extended warranty, we would have to call Samsung. I immediately went down and bought an extended warranty for both products and was told to wait a day or two and call it in. I waited 2 days and called Best Buy, and it took over a week to get a Service Tech to come look at the washer. Of course, the technician had never seen anything like it and said it would take 7 to 10 days to get the parts and probably another week to get an appointment for installation. I told him I didn't want the washer because I didn't feel it would ever be right.
I went to Best Buy and asked to talk to the Store Manager. I ended up talking to two individuals, both of whom stated that I was out of luck in requesting a new washer and that it required 3 repair attempts before they would approve it. I then called Samsung and they contacted a local repair company, and the technician showed up the next day. The second technician couldn't believe the condition of the washer and, of course, had never seen it before. When he called Samsung to report the washer and explain what happened, he said it sounded like Samsung was aware of this issue and told him exactly what parts had to be replaced. We were told the parts delivery would take a week.
If Samsung is aware of this issue, why are they still selling these washers on the floor? Also Best Buy's return policy sucks. If we had stayed in this house, we would have known within the week that this was a defective washer, but circumstances didn't allow us to know it sooner and who would believe this would happen. We've owned at least 5 washers/dryers in our lifetimes and never had a problem with any within the first 3 years of ownership. We are stuck with this product because Best Buy will not take it back and now have hit us up for an extended warranty, which we were afraid to NOT purchase with the problem we've experienced with this washer.
Until the new parts are installed that (hopefully) will fix the washer permanently, we are afraid to wash anything with the concern that the clothes will be damaged. We don't know where else to turn and feel that this product should be taken off the market and money returned.

Not knowing that there has been a slow leak UNDER the washer, the metal parts including contacts are going bad. This is a problem from the factory that is NOT going to be a quick fix by the repairman. I feel the machine should be replaced. We've been on the phone & emailed Samsung, but we're not getting any answers. I need a reliable machine - not an expensive washer that quits right after the one-year warranty runs out. I need help.

I purchased a Samsung washer and dryer brand new in 2012 and so far the washing machine has been repaired twice for the same problem and now the dryer is on the fritz. These are brand new machines purchased at around USD1000 per unit. What aggravates me is that when you call Samsung, they are quick to inform/educate you that it's 1-yr warranty for parts and labor. Now my question to Samsung is that what the life expectancy of a Samsung washer and Dryer is, 1 year?? I feel like I have been deceived in some way. I have other Samsung appliances that are now causing me anxiety. Every time something small happens, I go, "Here we go again." I have Samsung Technicians on speed dial for heaven's sake. I purchased a Samsung front load washer - model WF365BTBGWR in February 2013. Within a month, the text embossed on the front control panel started to wear off as if on a dry erase board. It smeared by rubbing the panel with one's fingers. I contacted Samsung and at first, they stated this was not a covered problem. I sent letter to the President of Samsung and finally got them to replace the panel. Within a month, same thing is starting to happen with new panel. No chemicals of any sort has been applied to panel. Just bad embossing! I think I will have to cover entire text on panel with clear plastic to text from smearing any further.

Purchased the Samsung WA400PHDWR on October 27, 2012 for $664.61. We only have two people in our household so there's not that much laundry to do weekly; maybe five loads per week. The 1st of May, 2013, the drum completely separated from the bottom and also shredded the upper splash guard into plastic chunks. Called the local store where we purchased it, in Madison, WI. We were told that Samsung contracts with local repair companies for service. The store could not service our machine.
We called Samsung and were told that Sierra in Hartland, WI was the repair company that would come out and look at it. On May 10th, a serviceman came out, took pictures, and wrote up his service report. We were told he would get the parts ordered from his truck, and send the pictures and his report of the damage to Samsung. We received a call a day or two later that it would be two weeks for the parts to arrive from Korea. After two weeks, we had heard nothing from Sierra. My husband called and was told the repairman would call us back to set up an appointment.
On May 29th, the owner of Sierra, Jim Andrews, called my husband and told him Samsung had "dropped the ball" and had not ordered the parts. He said because of this, they were offering to again repair or simply replace the machine. My husband emailed me at work and asked which I would prefer. I told him I would rather have it replaced since it broke after just six months. The owner of Sierra said Samsung would call us to tell us when we would receive the replacement.
So, since I had now been without a washing machine for a month already, we returned to the store where we had purchased it. Because it is not a "big box" store, I was hopeful our salesman would allow us to exchange the replacement machine (new in the box) for a different brand. After discussing this with the store manager, they agreed to allow us to purchase a different brand; however, we would have to outright purchase THAT machine, until Samsung sent us the new machine and took the damaged machine away. We paid $664.00 for a Maytag. They would then refund our money for the Samsung. I love the Maytag we purchased; it has a great detergent dispenser compared to the flimsy plastic pull-out of the Samsung. It also does not spin out of balance with just one load of two sheets.
On June 5th, we still had not heard from Samsung, so my husband called Sierra to find out when they would be bringing the replacement machine. He was told they still had not heard back from Samsung. On June 7th, my husband got a call from a man named James (not Jim Andrews) who said NO, Samsung will not replace it, and they will repair it. My husband said that was NOT what we agreed to. James basically called him a liar! He said no one ever said that. I have the email from my husband asking which I would prefer. Why would we discuss this with our local store and set up a chance to recoup our money for the Samsung and dole out even more money for another brand if we were not confident we would receive our money back for the Samsung?
Around June 10th, we received a call from Jim Andrews (the owner of Sierra) that one of the three parts was on back order and would not be in until June 21st. He told us to call Samsung. I then called the store where I purchased the machine. Diana got her sales rep from Samsung on the phone; he came in to their store and was trying to sort this out, to find the blame. Two of the three parts "mysteriously" arrived. We told Diana that Friday would be the best time to send the repairman, as my husband is off on Friday afternoons. She contacted Sierra and passed this information on to them. We got a voice message that THEY were told we would ONLY be available on Thursday morning. This meant my husband would, ONCE AGAIN, have to take off work. Diana said that was NOT what she told them!
On June 13th, Josh, the repairman from Sierra, arrived with only two of the parts. He did not have the proper tools to take the machine apart. He had to buy a tool from our local hardware store and borrowed other tools from my husband. When Josh arrived, he said, "I thought I would be bringing out the new machine." He said he had been told Samsung was replacing it, which is what my husband had been told by the owner of Sierra back on May 29th. So now, we have a damaged machine sitting in our garage, which we do NOT want, and a working machine in our home.
On June 18th, we received a call that the last part has arrived. We will not be available the end of this week to deal with this. We have a camping benefit for Donor/Donee family members. My husband gave 60% of his liver to his dying sister, nearly six years ago (she is doing splendidly well, by the way).
Who waits two months for a repair?!!! I want my money back for the Samsung...my biggest irritation is with Samsung's contracted repair company. I have yet to get confirmation that they ever ordered the parts back on May 10th. Samsung uses "ticket numbers", and I do not believe Sierra can provide proof they were ever ordered. Our local store has their Samsung rep looking into this. I provided Samsung repair ticket numbers that we HAD received.
We are good people. We have a credit score of over 800. We are respected in our community. We have four children and four grandchildren. This is ridiculous. We pay our bills on time. We have no debt. What we DO have is a junk washing machine, a company that will not take it back, and a local store that will be dragged through the mud because of this. This is simply wrong.
I have contacted the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Report (of which we have been members for years), and a local TV station, and we will continue until we get our money back for the Samsung. My next move will be a lawsuit. Can you help us?

I purchased the Samsung VRT washer and dryer pair less than a year ago. Big, beautiful, red washer and dryer. Very expensive. Brand new. They had to bring 3 washers out for me to wash a load of clothes. Yes, 3 brand new to get it to wash one load of clothes all the way through. It would wash for a bit and then flash "LE" error. The book says that LE means the washer has failed to fill with water. What?! I stand there and listen and I can hear water coming out of the faucet furiously and presumably going into the washer. How in the hell is it failing to fill up? Sometimes it will stop and flash NZ. According to the book, this means that your washer needs to be serviced. What? It's brand new. If I called them every time it flashed NZ, they would have been out here 50 or 60 times.
It will stop and flash one of the error messages at least 50% of the time you are trying to wash a load. The only way I can get it to finish a cycle is to turn it off and run the rinse and spin cycle. Don't know why this works, but not a regular cycle. Takes twice as long and probably uses twice the water. As far as the dryer, I'm sitting here waiting for it to be brought back from repair. This is the second time. You can turn it on, adjust the time, etc., but when you push the start button, nothing happens. You can hear it click. The repairman said my dryer vent might be clogged. What?! That was just cleaned not long ago. And how could a clogged dryer vent burn out the control panel? And just one button on the control panel, the start button. All the other buttons work.
What the problem is is extremely poor quality and craftsmanship. This washer and dryer is the worst that I have ever owned. If you value your time, your money, your sanity, I would stay far away from anything Samsung makes. I hear they make good phones, but this has left such a bad taste in my mouth I wouldn't trust them to make a disposable lighter.

What happened to appliances working 10-15 years? Everything is overpriced and Samsung seems to be following in the ways of American manufacturers by churning out throw-away high-priced items. I bought a Samsung Front Loading Washing Machine back in 2010 from HHGregg. I also bought a 5-yr warranty from HHGregg. I wish I had done neither because they both have been a disappointment. The washer has recently developed a very ** odor that cannot be eliminated with bleach, vinegar, Lysol, etc. I have followed the manual to the tee and went above and beyond cleaning the washer to keep it in tiptop shape. And that is where I thought the 5-yr warranty would come in handy. However, that has not been the case.
I have phoned HHGregg and Samsung both for 2 wks with one return call. I went to the HHGregg location where I bought the machine and raised Cain, and they assured me this was covered and that it is under my Premium Service Plan. Well they lied!!!!!!! HHGregg is not returning my calls as well as Samsung. This is BS!!!!!!! My warranty reads, if the machine is inoperable and/or does not have to be completely inoperable, it will be replaced and that there will be no hassle, and I will not be without a functioning washer. Well I AM, and for 2 weeks. It also reads, it will be replaced if the cost is uneconomical. I called a Service guy out to look at it and he reports this is a problem with this kind of washers and that it will cost $1100 because every part that has been touched by water has to be replaced. Really!!! The washer was $549!!! Really!!! This sounds UNECONOMICAL to me.
I have 3 boys who play sports year round with no break and I have had to use the laundromat and it is very expensive... They do not care and are ripping people off everyday. I have spoken with about 15 different people and will never do business with either again. This message is to make everyone AWARE of HHGregg and Samsung Front Loaders... They are not what you think and the 5-yr warranty doesn't cover JACK. One rep I spoke with told me the washer was still functioning... I asked her definition of a washer and she said she could not answer that. Our Samsung front load washer, model WF218ANB/XAA, had water leaking from the detergent drawer door which would run down the front of the machine leaving as much as a quart of water on the floor. One service remedy was to check the pipe from the detergent drawer to the tub for an obstruction. No obstruction was found. To remedy the problem, I installed a self-adhesive dense foam weatherstrip around the inside and bottom of the drawer opening (with the drawer removed). When the drawer is in place, the baffle at the bottom of the drawer presses against the weatherstrip stopping the leak. There has not been any leak since installing the weatherstrip.

The washer is SO bent on saving water that it doesn't fill up enough to get the clothes clean. They do get damp, but I have seen the commercial front loaders and they should fill at least halfway or a quarter of the way on the door.
When I open the door (it doesn't drain any water out before opening) after it has started washing, there is NO water at all in the front of the washer. Not even a little!!! How can the clothes get clean or rinsed when there is no water to do it with? My clothes don't smell good at all, and it doesn't fill with enough water so it can't have time to fill with warm water, let alone hot water. I am disappointed with its performance.

But like a new car, as soon as the warranty expires, so does the machine. I have had the washer 3 years, and I have spent $400 and 3 weeks on the last repair - more than half the cost of the washer. Now, 8 months after having some harness replaced in the washer, I am getting the tE error. Oh and guess what, the warranty ran out on the panels at 2 years. Don't buy these expensive machines. Our washer broke after 3 years. I called Samsung and they picked the local repair facility to come out and take a look. The repairman told me the machine was shot due to a bent shaft, possibly caused by soap getting behind the drum and corroding things. I told him we read the manual and always used minimal soap and never overloaded the thing. He said, "Oh well, this maybe happens in 2% of the machines." Ten minutes and $85 later, he left. The next day, I got a call from the repair company. Total cost to repair was $986. I think I paid $800 for it new.
I figured it to be a defective unit and even though it is out of warranty, it should be addressed by Samsung. I called Samsung customer service and was told that since the machine was out of warranty, then nothing could be done. I said that was not a good answer and then I was told that I would be contacted by the next level of customer service in two days. A week later and still no call, so I called them. I had a transaction number so they knew what the issue was. I was told by the next level customer service person that nothing could be done due to no warranty. They also told me the extreme cost to repair was between me and the repair company. I reminded them I did not select the repair company, Samsung did.
I asked for some compensation because I now needed to buy a new washing machine. I thought perhaps they would give me a voucher for a few bucks toward a new machine. The answer was no. So, okay Samsung, you just lost another customer because you simply do not care, nor do you have to care as you have much of the market cornered. But for the sake of this argument, I sent a letter to Samsung asking for a little reimbursement for my trouble. I wanted to give them one more chance. I will update this post if I hear from them. I did end up buying a brand new Whirlpool washer that had way better features than the Samsung for less than the cost of the repair of the Samsung.
Do I know the Whirlpool will do better or last longer? Of course not! But, I do know I will never purchase another Samsung product and I will encourage all my friends, neighbors, family and anyone reading this post to avoid Samsung due to their unacceptable product performance and even worse customer service. I figure if I can influence a few people to buy anything but Samsung, it will have cost the company far more than what it would have cost them to satisfy my complaint. Do the math, Samsung.

Okay. I did a ton of research, read a million reviews (it seems). Finally, I went with a 3.6 Samsung VRT steam front loader from Lowe’s. I found out later that we were the second owners of this machine - something Lowe’s never told us. I paid full (sale) price for it. Well, I have 2 three year olds, two dogs, two cats, my husband and myself. The front loader would not clean clothes. Clothes (regardless of load size… I tried small, medium, and large loads over a 3-day period, about 8 loads attempted) would come out with dry spots, food, and hair still on them, and smelling like dirty laundry. I tried the steam option. No steam. Just water drops and spurts glopping out of the holes in the drum. So, I call Lowe’s. They tell me that doesn't sound right. They didn't send a repair person. They just came and picked it up. We'd had it for 4 days.
Back to square one for me. Oh, and when I went to Lowe’s to look at other washer options, I saw our "old" Samsung sitting in the middle aisle on used clearance, stating it was used twice. Now, we'd had that one delivered and just assumed that they'd taken the packaging off in the delivery truck. They never told us we were getting a used machine. I'd ordered it over the phone. So now we have the HE top loader. We purchased it on March 30, 2013. So yes, just a little over 30 days ago.
A Lowe’s employee stated he'd had the top loader (that we now have). He has two dogs himself, as well as his wife's clothes; and he said it's held up well. For all purposes, he was correct. I really liked this washer, even if I felt I had to "baby it". I'd read reviews about the clothes not moving around as much as the traditional agitator styles. So, I would load our undergarments and socks first. I started to pre-treat armpits on shirts/bras and the food stains on my children's clothes. I would load it one item at a time and arrange the stuff evenly. I made sure to choose the correct settings; and I'd wait to leave the laundry room until the machine started the water, after it "sensed" the load/balance.
Current issue with the WA400PJHDWR top load HE (no agitator): Well now, the repair person just left. Apparently, we need a new drum, possibly hub motor, and the splash guard on the top of the drum. The splash guard it shredded. The bottom of the drum (plastic part around the agitator hub thing) dropped down/bent below the stainless steel drum. In other words, the inside of the washer is mangled. The tech said this is not common; he's seen something like it once before but has never seen anything exactly like what happened to the bottom of ours. He said that it's like it got out of balance and started spinning high speed, when it should've stopped and re-balanced. He said some kind of defect and assured me that they'd replace any parts damaged and those that could have caused the issue.
Considering the short amount of time we've had it, I don't want to go through the whole "repair part by part" process. I asked Lowe’s customer service if it were possible to just get a new washer and that I didn't want to go through this. We spent $700 on this, reassured by the 10-year warranty on the motor, etc. I didn't expect to have these issues for at least 10 years. They said no, flat out no. The explanation was that it was the first repair; so they'd like to follow options to repair it since it was deemed repairable by the tech (regardless of how much was going to be replaced).
I asked what the process for allowing replacement is. They said if we have to have the machine repaired 3 times, that they'll replace it then, holding it's still within the 1-year time limit (no, I did not buy the extended warranties... re-thinking that as a crappy decision now). I don't want to play the repair game after just 40 days. But Lowe’s will not replace the 40-day old mangled washer. So, 3-5 business days to order parts - however long after that for service. Lowe's is "sorry for any inconvenience". Our family doesn't bring in much money right now. We budgeted like crazy for this purchase. We have a Samsung fridge, purchased from Lowe’s too. We trusted the brand. We trusted Lowe’s. We feel like we're just getting screwed over.

Samsung VRT Steam washer and Dryer - Let me say this first, if you are planning on buying a Samsung front loader washer and/or dryer, STOP!!! Read this before making that decision. Then buy cautiously. Brand new and 2 days later, the dryer vent breaks. Other than that the dryer is okay, except it wads everything up into a giant ball if you have more than 10 small items in it. Wrinkle guard is a nice feature, but it doesn't work on big items (pants/dresses/bed sheets) as it wads those things into a roll and the center doesn't get dry but has permanent pressed in wrinkles.
The washer: DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER. Where do I start with the problems? Oh, yes, all my whites are now gray. I have to take my laundry to the laundromat to do whites every so often to take them from gray to white again. Why is this? The washer doesn't put in enough water to disperse and rinse away the dirt. It just gets it wet enough to loosen the dirt and distribute it evenly throughout all the other clothes. Because of lack of water, stains (regardless of severity) will not come out even when using pre-treatment.
Following this same problem (lack of water), it does not rinse out the soap residue even though I pay for the more expensive HE liquid. So the dryer with wrinkle guard function doesn't work as the clothes are stiff with the left-in soap. The whites are gray, the colors are dull. The clothes have an unclean already worn smell right out of the dryer. The residue of soap in the bedclothes (and regular clothes) makes me and my husband itch like crazy even if we’re using the hypoallergenic expensive laundry detergent. If you use fabric softener, make sure you use a tiny bit and water it down totally; otherwise, you will spot/stain your clothes.
Bottom line, don't be a sap like me and pay $2,000 for this washer/dryer combo. You will spend 2 years paying off something, kicking yourself in the butt every time you use it. I had a 5 year old Maytag when I updated. The biggest mistake in my buying history is getting this Samsung. Don't believe a salesman. Believe the people who have used this. As soon as I get my LG products paid off, I'm buying a standard washer that lets me decide how much water I want to use. Take my advice, do not buy any washer/dryer that says it has a smart feature and decides on water level. If it's not a manual water choice, do not buy that product regardless of name and claim!

Wow, I sure wish I had seen this website before I bought my Samsung pair. When I first bought the Samsung washer and dryer pair, I thought it was costly, but it was quality. They had such great reviews! Everyone apparently loved them! Upon using them a few times, however, my dislike grew. There was never enough water. Like some others, I often filled the washer with buckets of water. Though the capacity looks huge, forget trying to fill the machine, it simply won't work. If it's heavy at all, it will go off balance and quit. It takes probably 2-3 times longer to wash a load than my old Maytag. I never stop it at mid-load to change settings. It will drain entirely then refill again.
I tried to return the pair to Lowe's but I was 2 days past the date I could return them. (BTW, the Lowe's website gives this machine rave reviews. I wrote a negative review, but it somehow didn't make it on to the website.) When I told them about my issues, the Lowe's representative told me that I would just have to learn to use the machine properly? I called Samsung and their representative hardly spoke English and didn't have a clue how to help me. He suggested calling a repairman. But what if it's not a repair issue? What if it's a manufacturing defect? Too bad, right? Thanks to all of you who shared their complaints. Now, I know it's not just me!

We purchased a Samsung washer, WF306BHW, and Samsung gas dryer back in 2008 with the extended warranty through Best Buy. Within the first month of using, the powder detergent became clogged and required servicing. We were under the original warranty at that time. Best Buy came out, took the appliance apart and said that it was my fault for using powdered detergent. Huh? The machine has a powdered detergent dispenser! That having been said, the repair guy said that he would use a different repair code so that it would be covered under the warranty. Thanks! From then on whenever I've used a powder detergent/oxi-clean, I place it directly on top of the clothes.
Fast forward to the end of March 2013 and in the middle of the load I got an ND error. I pulled the dirty, wet clothes out of the machine, washed, rinsed and wrung by hand, etc. and since it's a Saturday, called the only Samsung repairman in a 100-mile radius of where we live on - Monday. He finally came out the following Monday because he's so swamped with Samsung calls. He decided that it's the pump that's broken. There's nothing blocking any hose, etc. He ordered it and came back the next day to install it. He's there for three hours because he can't get it to "kick in" to a spin unless he's holding a magnet over the circuit board; said that now the circuit board is shot, ordered it and came back Friday night to replace it.
Seriously, he left and I threw my first load in in almost two weeks and you guessed it. Halfway through that first load, the machine made this awful noise and stopped. The ND code comes on again! Total spent so far: $436.00, and it's only that much because the service man only charged for one service call - him, I like. At this point, I really don't know what to do. This model was a Consumer Reports' Best Buy when we bought it. But at that price (> $1,200), it should last more than five years.
It's Monday, I called the service guy and the soonest he can get here to look at the machine again is Friday. In the meantime, I'm looking for a new washer. Unfortunately, all of the front loaders have a lot of complaints. I'm hesitant to go back to a top loader since we live in the county on a septic system/well and don't want to deal with the excess water usage/disposal. If anyone knows of a dependable front loader with a great track record, please let me know! Thanks.

We purchased the Samsung Front Loading Washer & Dryer a couple of years ago and paid around $2,000.00. What a bunch of junk... We have replaced the belt on the dryer once already and now the heating element is shot. When taken apart, the belt is going to have to be replaced again as it is already starting to tear in several places. The cost of the heating element, belt and labor is going to cost well over $400.00. Totally ridiculous for the amount of money already spent. We bought a Roper dryer today for $350.00. This is what we owned prior to the Samsung disaster. As for the washer, another disaster... stink-stink-stink... mold-mold-mold... clothes smell after washing and we have had to have our drain line snaked several times as it keeps clogging up. Maybe it is from the spider issue that I keep reading about in other complaints.

I am writing this to warn others of the unfortunate experience I had with my Samsung Washer, Model WF219ANW/XAA01. I purchased it along with the matching dryer from Sears 3 years ago. The washer was used for your basic laundry for a family of 3. In December of 2012, I got an error code "nd" for not draining. I cleaned out the debris filter and found what looked like rocks in the debris. After cleaning it out, it still would not drain, so I contacted Samsung who gave me the name of an authorized repairman. The repairman looked at the debris, but had no comment as to what it was. He replaced the drain pump and flushed a large amount of debris out of the drain line. Unfortunately, he was Korean and did not speak English very well, so he had no explanation of what happened to my washer. It cost me $225 for the repair.
Three months later, the machine was once again not draining and I pulled yet more of this rock-like debris from the filter. I decided to call a Sears repairman this time so we could communicate. He advised that the debris were metal pieces from a deteriorating "spider". I don't really know what a spider is, but it is a part of the machine that after only 3 years is deteriorating. He advised that it would cost $535 to replace the spider. Since the machine cost me $650 and I already put $225 into it, the machine is basically junk.
I contacted Samsung to complain about the poor construction of this machine, but they told me I had to contact Samsung in India because that's where it was made. I was in disbelief with this response. What kind of service do you think I will get from India? I lost a lot of hard-earned money with this machine and need to warn others to beware. The only thing I can do is buy a new washer because I need it now; but I can assure you, it will not be a Samsung.

Cons for washer: Bleach and Downy dispenser have never worked right. They dispense the liquid immediately. I can't tell you how many towels, sheets and clothing have been ruined. Also, once it's going, you can't add anything. Pros: Sanitizing cycle is a nice feature. Spins more water out than a top loader so it takes less time to dry. Extra rinse feature is also nice.
Cons of front loading dryer: Digital control panel temperature often stops working. For some reason, king-size bed sheets end up being wrapped tight like a mummy. Very wrinkled, twisted and still wet. I can only dry one sheet at a time and have to monitor it if I don't want this to happen. Drives me crazy. In the summer I hang them outside to avoid this problem. Also, both dryer and washer are very awkward to load and unload. I refuse to pay $150 per machine to get those drawers that no one uses as such they function mainly as something to raise the machines to a comfortable level. What a scam. I sorely miss my old washer/dryer.

My washer broke about a week ago, making a very loud metal sound. I ran to turn it off, then water came pouring out of the bottom of the washer. I called HH Gregg where we purchased it. They gave us a number for repair. I called them. They finally sent a repairman out yesterday. He walked in the laundry room, looked at the washer, did not even pull it out or remove panel to see what was wrong. He must have had X-ray vision to see what was wrong with it. He said he thinks it's the water pump that broke, so we get to wait until it gets ordered and sent to the repair center.
What if that does not fix it? When will the repairman come to fix it? I called Samsung today, 3/15/2013, talked to 5 or 6 different people who all said the same thing, "You are just going to have to wait until the part comes in," then they will send repairman back. They obviously do not care about their customers. They guess at what is wrong. I guess I have no other choice but to wait for them and go to a laundromat to do my laundry, which they do not reimburse. There are no loaners, no exchanges. This causes the inner drum to either unbalance or the drive shaft to completely break off. Either way, it can cause catastrophic damage to the inner drum, outer tub and door seal. The last one I worked on, the WF328AAR, had a 3E error because the inner drum would not spin and the motor thought it was locked up. The electronic dash board on the front of the machine did not state there was anything wrong with the machine. I unplugged and called Samsung. They stated machine is out of warranty and will call back to see if they can send a technician to see what is wrong. Several days later, I got a call and was informed they would send a technician for free. Then the technician called to set up an appointment.
After the technician checked the machine, he told me that the metal flange shaft deteriorated. This is the piece that holds the stainless steel tub. It is located behind the tub area. Also the motor needs to be replaced as well as all the rubber seals and plastic that were damaged from the tub spinning and grinding against them. In other words, this machine will cost me more to fix and repair than buying a new one. I paid over $700 for this machine and I even hardly use it. There are only two people in this family.
I did some research and found that there is a defect with the flange part. It is made of cheap material and will not last for long. As far as Samsung is concerned, they will only pay for one or two parts that are in warranty but since the machine is over one year old, the rest of the bill is on me and I also have to pay for labor. I cannot show any pictures; the technician put the machine before I could take them. I am disgusted.

I bought this Samsung front load washer and dryer set from Lowe's. There is a major mold issue with the washing machine. The tray that dispenses the detergent fills with water that is dispensed from above inside this compartment. Well, the actual tray that the water comes through fills up with mold and is not removable unless you disassemble the shell of the washer and remove the supply lines. Once it is removed, you cannot open the tray to clean it. It is factory sealed and would leak if you attempted to. I soaked mine in bleach for a day and still could not get it clean. That was a few months ago.
Now it apparently is full of mold again because it is not dispensing much water at all. Also the door lock got stuck, so I called Samsung and they sent me a replacement at the cost of $65 and 2 weeks to ship. I was able to unstick the lock because I wasn't willing to wait 2 weeks without at least trying, but now I have a $65 paper weight in the cabinet taking up space unless it goes bad again. I have stopped using the dryer because last time this happened, the lint was able to get behind and below the drum which in turn caught on fire. I am wondering if this is a recurring issue and with other like machines, why hasn't there been a safety recall. I see that some others have the same problem - what was the solution to fixing this? Buying new clothes is getting expensive.
My machine is not under warranty, but from what I am reading, that doesn't seem to matter to this company. I have been able to overcome the smell by not using the detergent dispenser. I was so happy to have everything new. What a disappointment. When Lowe's delivered and set them up, one of the goofballs had something on his hand which left an imprint permanently on the front door and they left a dent on the top of my washer. The dryer is OK but because of the washer, I'll never buy anything with the name Samsung on it again.

I have a Samsung WF419 washer that I bought in 2011. For the last year, every other load of laundry will come out smelling dirty and stinky (mostly noticeable after the clothes have completely dried). Sometimes they smell of mildew, but what's worse is when they smell as though they have been washed in sewer water. I have used bleach. I have used front-loader cleaner marketed by Tide. We have drained the catch area at the bottom (which was full of smelly water too), but still my clothes smell like a mixture of mildew and sewage. No, I do not leave them in too long between washing and drying and all this time I thought perhaps I had a water problem.
Now, reading all of these reviews, I know this is not an isolated experience and I am discouraged because it looks as though no one is getting any satisfaction from Samsung. Although it is a beautiful-looking machine, my clothes smell dirty and my whites become dingy after only a month to the point where I have to discard white tee-shirts in a very short period of time. My husband and I are planning to sell our house in another two years. Guess what? The washer is going to be sold with the house and I am going back to a good, old-fashioned, top loader. I'm tired of smelling like BO and mildew when I put my "clean" clothes on.

In 2009, I spent over $1,000 on a new Samsung front load washer and dryer. In July of 2012, the dryer stopped working. I couldn't find anyone to work on a Samsung in my immediate area (that is a bad sign). So, I called 800-SAMSUNG. I was told that I no longer had a warranty; but by calling Samsung, I wouldn't have to pay any service visit fees. When the service company called, they said that was false. They even called the company for me; no luck. By the time the bill was paid for the dryer, it came to $400. Now, the washer is out (August 2012). It is going to be another $400 to fix a main control board! When I called customer service and waited for 30 minutes on hold, I was told there was nothing they could do. They do not stand by their products once they are no longer made. I spoke with Tracy, a supervisor executive (relations). She said there was no one else to talk to. She was top of the line, really?! There has to be something I can do to get the word out.

Even though we have kept up on the maintenance and cleaning, wiped down the rubber boot, and left the door open, it has a horrible moldy musty smell. I called for service and they said there is nothing that can be done. I will never buy a Samsung appliance again. There should be a class action suit for this.

I wrote yesterday about my mishap with a Samsung top loader washer and dryer set. I just wanted to let everyone know that the tech came out and installed the second new major part (the motor assembly) and it’s still not working. Another part is being ordered, but I had my fill. My husband called Lowe’s in Ware, MA to let them know. Thankfully, we purchased the extended 4-year warranty through Lowe’s and Lowe’s is going to take back the machines and refund our money. The machines are scheduled to be picked up on Thursday. Now, it is back to picking out new machines. I definitely am not going with any Samsungs! But I just want everyone to know how grateful I am to Lowe’s. I would recommend that store to everyone! Lowes is number 1 in my book! Thank you, Lowe’s, for standing behind your customers - you have class.

My husband and I purchased Samsung top load washer (WA5471ABW) and matching dryer (DV5471AEWXAA) from Lowe's in September 2011. I was not happy with the set after finding the clothes weren't getting clean and the dryer was taking two cycles to dry the heavier clothes. My clothes were coming out of the washer with black marks on them and I would have to scrub it off by hand before drying the items.
I called Lowe's and was told it was too late to exchange them. I should call a tech to look at the set. Well, now, the washer is on its fourth tech visit tomorrow and second expensive part to be put in, to get it to work again. I now feel like I purchased a refurbished washer rather than a new one. At first, I was hoping they would let me go and exchange the set for Samsung front loaders. But after seeing all the reviews, I would like to have my money back and purchase another brand all together.
I went with the top loaders because I was sold a Maytag front loader from Manny's that should have been off the market. It had tons of issues and I decided to just give up on them. I am extremely upset. We spent all this money and the companies are allowed to rip us off with no consequences. Well, I am going to keep writing about what crappy junk Samsung is putting out there. I will never buy anything made by Samsung again.
Word of mouth is the largest avenue for companies and I will definitely make sure to tell everyone and anyone to stay away! Even when I am in a store where appliances are being sold, I will walk over and make sure to give people the heads up on Samsung selling junk that claims to be top of the line. I hope this helps some poor soul out there to think twice about buying their so-called top of the line appliances!

In 2010, we bought a Samsung VRT Washer and Dryer. Both were top of the line with all the options. We have an open laundry area off the kitchen so we opted for an ice blue color which was extra including the stands. We paid over $3,000.00 for them both. This did not include the optional extended warranty. We bought them at Best Buy in Garner, North Carolina. All went well for the first year, in the one year the factory warranty expired. We did opt for the extended warranty.
The first problem was the dryer. The belt that turns the drum fell off, or so we were told had come off the drum. The problem was rectified without complaint. In May of 2011, the washer started to vibrate and rock during the spin cycle. We noticed little holes in our bath towels and t-shirts, and various other clothing. The noise and vibrating became much worse, which prompted us to call Best Buy. We told that the extended warranty was no longer in effect. So much for ever buying anything at Best Buy ever again.
We called a Samsung authorized repair office and had a tech visit set up. The first tech had no knowledge of Samsung washers (he was just in the first stages of training). Well about the third tech visit, we came across a somewhat knowledgeable repairman. The first diagnosis was four shock absorbing struts that went under the actual wash tub. After he replaced them, the problem became worse!
The tech then ordered 2 new parts, a new stainless wash tub that has a balanced weight welded on the back of it. He also ordered a molded plastic wash tub that houses the stainless steel wash tub. This tub holds the water etc., and should not move during any cycle. This part has some type of bearing in it that holds the wash tub in a correct position, and keeps it from vibrating. The tech ordered both parts but only the stainless steel wash tub came. For some reason we could not trace the part, or find it from the appliance repairman's company.
We escalated the matter and we were told if the part could not be located, we would get a replacement washer exactly like the one we originally purchased. Well guess what? The complaint was sent into the repairman's company for research, investigation and a resolution. We were offered a credit at Sears for $400.00 for a $1,200.00 washer. We cannot even match the color. We looked online and Sears has nothing (no washer) you can buy for $400.00. Maybe they were thinking of a steel tub and scrub board. We think not!
We intend to fight this matter until we get a satisfactory resolution! We found the part is available at a local appliance part distributor. There should be no reason why Samsung and the repair company cannot procure the correct part from them or another source and repair the washer we originally bought. When purchasing the washer and dryer pair, we thought we did our homework. Apparently, consumer’s guide and the other advertised consumer award company were bought and advertised by Samsung and just for Samsung. We will never buy another Samsung product, ever. We intend to spread this news through Facebook friends and any blog we can find.
What happened to the good old days, when you could buy a Maytag or Sears Lady Kenmore, and knew it would last for at least nine to ten years with little or no repair? We regret not buying a regular top loading washer and matching dryer for less money. We would not have been going to the local Laundromat since April of 2011, just $3.75 per load at four loads for washing twice a week. Our advice, stay away from Samsung or any washer/dryer made by that company made under a different brand name. Samsung sucks.

Water collects in the seal between the drum and the door. Mold and mildew develop and cause the washer, the contents of the washer and the whole room to smell like mold and mildew. I clean the filter regularly and I run the Pure cycle as well as at least one load with bleach a week and it still smells horrible. My whole family is allergic to mold and mildew and it has caused our allergies to worsen. I wipe down the seal and leave the door open and that does not solve the problem. I did not spend over a thousand dollars on a high efficiency washer to spend extra time and effort and money to make it do what my cheap 15-year-old washer was already doing.
This particular washer touts the ability to leave a load for over 24 hours and they will still stay fresh. What is Samsung going to do to back their name and stand behind their product? I don't think anything less than exchanging my VRT Front load washer for a top load washer of equal value would be acceptable. These problems that Samsung says is common to front load washers needs to be disclosed and made known to customers before they purchase their product. This isn't just a convenience issue, but one of added costs and health issues for my family.

The Samsung 4.3 cu feet washer (WF511ABW 54AB301316) was purchased in Pacific Sales, Carlsbad, CA on 8/27/11. The problem is that the washing performance is poor and cotton clothes, towels, etc., consistently have a malodorous scent. The odor is best described as "musty". A complaint was filed with Pacific Sales’ warranty department and a service call was made on 3/26/12 for poor performance and lack of warm and hot water. The service man said this is the way the washers are designed. The washer uses so little water that by the time the hot water gets through the pipes and into the washer, no more water is dispensed. He said the washers currently being designed (and to come out soon) will not even have a hot water option. He suggested that I use the steam, pre-wash, and heavy-duty settings with hot or extra hot when I want a better wash.
A complaint was filed with Samsung on 6/11/12 and a service call was made on 6/21/12 for poor performance and malodorous scent left on cotton clothes, towels, sheets, etc. The service technician from Tekniton Innovative Technology Solutions named Cristian altered the position of the drain hose so that it was not so deep in the drain. He was very confident this was the cause of the bad odor. He also told me that the washer performs better with larger loads. This is exactly opposite of what the sales person at Pacific Sales told us. I made it very clear when we were purchasing the washer that the majority of loads I wash are very small (daily). The only reason we bought the largest drum is because it has the capacity to do bedspreads, comforters, etc. I asked the sales person, "So, there is no downside to purchasing the largest capacity machine if the overwhelming majority of the loads I wash are very small?” He said, "No, absolutely no downside. It will just give you the ability to wash large items when you need to."
What I have tried in an effort to "deal with" and "rectify" the problem is to always use HE detergent only, change/alter the amount of detergent used, try multiple detergent brands, and use all the settings described above (steam, pre-wash, heavy-duty, hot, and extra hot) which, by the way, takes 1.5 to 1.75 hours for one cycle and I'm sure it does not at all fall into "energy saving." What I would like is for Samsung or Pacific Sales to pick up the washer and refund the purchase price ($1,064.98, not including tax) or give credit toward a new and different washer. We also need a dryer that matches the size of the new washer. We also purchased stands for both the washer and dryer and they need to be resolved along with the washer replacement.

We bought this washer and dryer unit (Samsung Front Load VRT Washing Machine) together less than 6 months ago and have had horrible results with the washer. The odor is unbelievable and not only does our laundry (especially towels) smell but the whole room smells. We called and were told to leave door open and area for detergent open. There is still a foul mildew, mold odor. I worry about the clothes we are wearing with this mold on us. Since then my daughter and I have had terrible allergy symptoms which I'm sure is due to the mold/mildew left on our clothes.
The washer doesn't even seem to wash the clothes clean. We have tried buying special washing machine cleaning solutions with basically no effects lasting longer than a few days. It’s crazy that with the family out of town, the washer door open along with the detergent area, that the minute we walk into our house we smell mold and mildew coming from the laundry room. I can't believe there hasn't been a recall on this machine or that Samsung isn't willing to replace the defective machine. Such a shame. Lastly, don't buy this set.

When we purchased our Samsung washer/dryer, we had problems with foul smelling towels. We realized that when the people from Lowe’s hooked up the units, they placed the washer on the left, which caused the discharge hose to be stretched, thus causing the dirty water to remain in the tub, which in turn, caused the bad smell on towels. Since I placed the washer closer to discharge drain, the problem has been resolved.

Samsung front load WF350ANW/XAA - I had the same problem with intermittent "failure to balance" and continuous back and forth cycling of drum that is documented on YouTube. The machine is less than 6 months old. The tech said he could not duplicate the problem. One month later, it would not even go into a cycle. The tech ordered and replaced motors and circuit boards. One month later, the same problem with failure to complete cycle and continuous cycle back and forth. The obstinate tech refused to take our word for it, insisted it was our fault, said that the machine programming would not allow that to happen, etc. We asked him to leave and we called Samsung and Lowe's with our concerns.
We're told Lowe's would not do anything until another service call was completed (has to be 3 times before replacement). Later, Lowe's local store manager called and said he would replace the washer on his own. I think Samsung's service sucks, the washer is junk and Lowe's is great. If the replacement does the same thing, I will be asking for my money back. As it stands now, I will never buy another Samsung product or one which they make.

We have the Samsung WF330ANB (very similar to the 330ANW), bought it 2 years ago at Lowe’s along with a 4 year extended warranty and boy are we glad we did. As I write, I have just asked the warranty repair people to come out again because we are just fed up with this washer not being able to finish the final rinse cycle. At 7 minutes, it will clunk and stop and try over and over again to find a way to balance the load. If you're not there to hassle taking some clothes out, rearranging, etc., then the machine will do this for hours and hours.
When we had the guys come out the first time, they got us a new circuit board and told us that we had to use a full load or the machine wouldn't work right. We should have put our foot down then and there, but we figured maybe the replaced electronics would sort things out. It didn't, and we have been dealing with this about 50-60% of the time we do the laundry, whether it's a full load or not and also, regardless of how warm the darn machine happens to be.
Now, we can tell from other blogs, etc., that many other folks have no problem with their Samsungs. Some even report it is quiet when it spins. Boy we'd love to see what that's like! Bottom line, we're tired of being laundry martyrs. They either fix this machine or give us another one which, hopefully, will be like some of the others people got and actually work.

We purchased the Samsung WF337AAL/XAC 4cu ft. Frontload Washer and Steam Dryer combo just a year ago. After the first few months the washer produced a musty smell. After complaining to the store where we purchased it, we were told to leave the door open, wipe the seal, run bleach and vinegar cycles, try a product that cleans the machine. Several months later, the smell got worse and now smells like rotten garbage and the odor now gets transferred to our clothes when we wash. As far as leaving the door open after washing, we can't, because the smell stinks up the entire room. After spending $2,000 on these new appliances that are 15 months old, I now have to take my clothes to a laundromat to clean them.
The support from the place of purchase is zero. The support from Samsung is zero and the support from our 4-year extended warranty program is zero. Apparently there is nothing wrong with the unit. This is just a common occurrence. Is it common for your clothes to smell bad after you wash them? Apparently yes! If this is common, and Samsung stands behind their product that you inevitably can’t even use, this is a huge issue. No recall, no investigation to the problem. The product is fine they say, they have no issues. I warn all others not to purchase Samsung frontload washers, not this model or any of their frontload models. In our family, we have had Maytag and Kenmore frontloads and never had this issue. This is not common.
I basically feel that I just threw my money away and the additional money I have spent on water, gas to run hot sanitize cycles, bleach, vinegar, new detergents to help eliminate the smell, not to mention the countless hours of arguing on the phone with companies trying to get someone to support me. I could have bought myself a brand new set by now. On top of it all, they recommend me to run 1-2 extra loads of hot water weekly with bleach or vinegar, yet they praise themselves on manufacturing energy-efficient units. So much for conserving energy?! Am I missing something here?

In April 2010, I purchased a Samsung VRT dryer and high-efficiency washer. I purchased the extended purchase plan, which last for four years. Just before a year after the purchase, I had to call Lowe's service department, because the dryer would not dry. The product was still under manufacturer's warranty, and so, Samsung sent someone out to repair the dryer. It was repaired and seemed to be working.
Shortly after that, the dryer went out again and did not run. Also, the liner in the washer tore and needed to be replaced, since it was causing a leak and leaving water on my floor. Lowe's contacted a service repairman, whom they contracted with. They came out and determined the product needed a new belt. The belt was ordered, and the service company returned to repair the dryer. This all occurred just after one year of purchasing the Samsung dryer.
In May 2012, again the dryer would not dry my clothes. I called the Lowe's service center and scheduled another appointment with their repair service providers for the following Saturday, the day before Mother's Day. The repairman called me a day before the appointment to reschedule for that Friday. I missed the appointment, because I had no time to reschedule the appointment before they showed up that Friday. I called this repair company and left a voicemail to return my call to reschedule. I heard nothing from them until the following Tuesday.
I rescheduled for Thursday afternoon. The repairman called me that morning to tell me he was waiting on me for the appointment. When I explained the appointment schedule, he did work me in for the afternoon. I also called the repair service's office to let them know I was disappointed and was told by the lady, "You don't have a right to be upset; the repairman is working you in." The repairman came that afternoon and determined the belt and heating element needed to be replaced. I did call Lowe's to complain about the service.
Parts were ordered and arrived that Wednesday, the same day that the repair company called me and left a voicemail to schedule an appointment. I returned the call the following Thursday and did not receive a call until Tuesday after Memorial Day. We scheduled for the next Wednesday morning. I missed work again and waited and waited and waited. The repairman did not show up! I called Lowe's, complained again, and got nothing for an answer. They sent my complaint to an outsourcing company, and when they returned my call, all they did was try to reschedule my appointment again.
I called the Lowe's service number again to complain, and this time, the warranty person said that she would reschedule me with another repair company for Saturday. Now this company calls me on Friday to reschedule for Monday. I returned the call to find that their office was closed. I called Lowe's again, but I had to hang up because this is actually making me sick what I'm going through. Before I hung up, I told them that "I'm so upset right now that I have to hang up."
I've requested to speak to a manager, but apparently, Lowe's has none because they would not allow me to speak to them. All I want is my dryer fixed, so I can do my laundry. I want Lowe's to come through for me, but they have not. I think the dryer is a lemon, and I think it should be replaced.

We bought a Samsung VRT steam washer and dryer just over 3 years ago. We did our research and felt certain that these Samsungs were the way to go. Several weeks ago, our washer started leaking from the bottom. We called out a tech, who insisted that the leak was caused from a missing seal in the detergent drawer. My husband was with him and insisted that they let the machine run through the end rinse cycle because that is when we noticed the leak. The tech was convinced and ordered the part. My husband pointed to a plastic piece located on the top of the washer near the cross bar in the middle. He said that it looked deformed and the tech said it is fine. My husband insisted again to wait until the washer went through the final rinse and spin, but the tech was in a hurry.
My husband walked the tech upstairs to pay him and was talked into the extended warranty. My husband felt uneasy and walked downstairs quickly before the tech left and there was water all over the basement. The tech came down and realized that the water was coming from the plastic piece that my husband pointed at. The tech ordered that piece as well. Well, we received the two pieces: the seal we didn't need and the plastic piece that was leaking. We replaced the plastic piece. Crazy: when we took the old piece out (heavy-duty plastic), it was actually warped from the inside like it had melted. This is what caused the hole. Unfortunately, the plastic piece is actually one of two pieces that screw together and then attach to the hosing. When we replaced the piece we got, we saw that the other piece was warped, too. It is now leaking as well.
How can you make a product where plastic actually melts? My husband is calling the repairman again today. We might as well use the warranty we purchased. I told him to order a couple of extra pieces of each one. That way, when the piece melts again in two years, we'll have a spare. I’m so disappointed.

Thanks for the tip about the soap Samsung lady. But when I pay that much for a washing machine, I shouldn’t be needing to spot treat what the washer is causing! They wanted the tech to check to see if the factory overdid it with the lube. When he pulled off the bottom of the filter, there was some grease, not a lot, but there was some. He said try using a tablespoon of powder detergent. Samsung said to run a load of whites and bleach. Been there, done that and it doesn’t work! Plus, I’ve even washed with no detergent. I don't know the answer and I guess they don't either! Very stressful! So for now, still stuck.

I have a lot of ruined clothes that look like grease spots on them from my Samsung VRT front load washer. I bought this from Lowe's. Lowe's replaced the same machine once from the same problem. I didn't want to break up my set so they gave me another Samsung. Shortly after, this one was doing the same thing to my clothes, comforters. It has ruined a lot of things. It is still under the year manufacturer warranty, but Samsung just keeps passing me around, expressing sympathy and doing nothing! They've sent techs out and they can't find anything. However, this last tech has said he had seen this happen before on these machines. He was kind enough to call Samsung for me and they told him that it's something I am doing. I am using HE detergent. I leave the door open when laundry is done. I have used the afresh tabs as directed. I haven't overloaded the washer. I have photos of all my ruined clothes and right now, I am working on YouTubing this issue.
I went and bought a new green t-shirt, videoed me washing it and guess what? Spots! They aren't doing anything about it and I am having to take my shirts to my mother's to wash them in her $700.00 washing machine while I have a $1,300.00 washing machine not worth a crap! This company's customer service is awful and their ability to solve issues is even worse. I think they need to change their name to Samdung or Samdumb! This has stressed me out and they are not doing the right thing by their customers. So if you read this review, please note that if you buy a Samsung product and get a warranty plus an extended warranty, don't worry. They don't stand behind that either. So it does you no good to buy the warranty through Samsung! Just don't buy their products! You will be safer! I would love an attorney to contact me because I am tired of dealing with this mess! Thank you!

Recently, a Samsung washer, model# WF337AAW/XAA, I purchased at Sears about four years ago had a mechanical failure. Being very mechanically inclined and the fact that the washer is out of warranty, I performed the repair work myself. I found what appeared to be pot-metal fragments in the water suction pump. Upon further investigation and through research via the internet, I found that the bracket that attaches the tub to the motor shaft had deteriorated and was failing. I have since ordered the part to repair. Since the part is on order, I disassembled the unit to expose the bracket and prepare for the replacement of the faulty piece. I found that the whole design is poor and unsanitary.
When I took the drum assembly apart, I found that the bracket was severely deteriorated and covered in a white powdery substance that appears to be zinc oxide (a natural effect of pot metal deteriorating), and almost ready to break apart. Perhaps the most alarming thing I found was the evidence of mold as well. Keep in mind that no matter what, clean clothes are in indirect contact with this area of the washer. We have only used the recommended detergents by the manufacturer and frequently run the unit through a sanitize cycle to clean it. I am very disappointed with my purchase and feel that this is a horrible design flaw.

Washer and dryer seem to be lemons. Dryer needed repair within 1 1/2 years. Now, the washer won't drain or spin. The duo is only 2 1/2 years. I spent a lot of money on these machines and I am very disappointed, probably angry is more like it. I had a Maytag washer and dryer for 10 years and the dryer went out (the washer is still going), so I decided to replace them with an upgrade... what a mistake! I am very disappointed in Samsung as a company and will probably stay away from any of their products in the future. A washer and dryer are a very important part of family life. Buyers beware!

Samsung washer not draining, mildew smell in room and on clothes - Initial problem was clothes left soggy and actual water remaining in tub after a cycle which I thought created the smell. I drained the hose and removed the cap from which at least 6-8 cups of water drained. I have done this numerous times since the problem began and got lots of water draining every time. Samsung sent service tech and they replaced the pump (courtesy extension of warranty). Problem has continued since that time so I called Samsung again at which point they reinforced that this will not be covered under any warranty and the problem/parts will have to be fixed/replaced by the service company. Unbelievable that they're claiming this is because of the energy saving feature. No way should a washing machine leave clothes and an entire laundry room smelling awful, especially after you've spent thousands of dollars on a set and it's less than three years old.
