I am a woman over 65 and recently scheduled several vendors to provide quotes for replacing the furnace in my ranch home. The furnace was located in a complicated attic space, making it challenging to replace. As a result, I received a wide range of quotes. One Hour was the only vendor comfortable with the job, and they offered a very competitive price for a better system. Their team completed the entire replacement promptly. Additionally, someone from their office called a month later to confirm that my system was working well and that I am satisfied with their product and service. I highly recommend this vendor for their understanding of customer needs and excellent service.

In July of 2022 we had several people out to quote us for a new AC for our home. Ultimately, we went with One Hour and were initially satisfied with the service, the unit, and the additional service plan that we purchased. On Sunday, June 23rd, my husband noticed a drip coming from the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. Upon further inspection, he found that the copper line in the attic was leaking.
We immediately called One Hour to come out and fix it. They came out the next day, Monday, June 24th, and their technician, Michael, said that the insulation around the copper line was old and disintegrating, and had not been replaced when we got the new unit. He fixed the part that was dripping, but by that point, much of the insulation we had blown into the attic in December of 2023 in that area was decimated and there were several cracks in the ceiling due to the water damage from the leaking line. Michael confirmed that the insulation on the line should have been replaced with the installation of the new unit. When we inquired about their process to fix the ceiling, Michael shared that his supervisor told him to tell us to claim it on our homeowner’s insurance.
Not satisfied with this answer, we reached out multiple times to speak with a manager. After waiting Monday evening, and all-day Tuesday, we were finally able to reach a manager on Wednesday, June 26th who was available to come out on Friday, June 28th. The manager, Carl, showed up at our house an hour past the scheduled appointment time. We explained to him the situation and what Michael found, and we told him we just wanted One Hour to make our ceiling right since the problem was due to incomplete installation. We also explained that we subscribe to the company’s service plan and at least two, if not three, additional technicians have been in our attic, on schedule, to inspect and service our unit and its parts, and no one has ever brought this to our attention, leading us to believe that we have been receiving incomplete inspections.
The manager looked at the damage to the ceiling as well as the copper line that was dripping and made notes. The manager argued that replacing the line insulation is not part of the installation of a new AC unit, but as consumers, my husband and I aren’t sure why that is the case. Additionally, we can’t figure out why no one ever brought to our attention that the insulation looks corroded and needs replacing even if it’s not part of the new install. We would have had One Hour replace it, no problem, but we didn’t know it wasn’t replaced at the time of the new unit install, and for the past almost two years, we have trusted that the technicians we have over to service the unit are checking everything and reporting back to us what needs attention. They certainly tell us when we need a new air filter.
We heard back from Carl, the manager, today and he said they will not be providing any compensation to repair the ceiling, which since his visit with us last Friday has gotten worse and looks like it is about to fall in. We trusted this company as AC experts and not only did they fail us when it came to a complete install, but they have also failed us in terms of making the incomplete install right. This is distressing as all we wanted was for them to take accountability for their mistake and compensate us for the damages. We didn’t want to leave a negative review, we didn’t want to cancel our service plan with them, we didn’t want to take them to court, but they are forcing our hand by not righting the situation.
We understand that mistakes happen and if One Hour had stepped up to the plate and taken care of us, we would recommend them; however, because they have denied accountability and refused to offer compensation to correct the damage, we regret doing business with them from the start and do not recommend their services.

Knowing upfront I would be charged $89.00 for the service of installing a thermostat but not knowing how much it would cost installing a wifi thermostat which didn't take only 1/2 hour, $141.00 is not what I was expecting. Saying no I would have to search for another company not charging as much. Their customer service was trying to pressure me to get a yearly subscription in the amount of $ 249.00 to lower my cost of the installation and not get charged the $89.00 which I wasn't going to get the subscription being that I didn't need any further work in the near future other than installation of the thermostat. I feel $75.00 would be appropriate along with charging me the $89.00 service cost if you are a BBB K. I am entering a complaint.. And the complaint will be for both for no receipt emailed to me and the overpricing of the installation.
Your website states "StraightForward Pricing® Guide. Before we start any work, we discuss your available options so you know exactly what you are getting and how much it will cost. No hidden fees!" What should of happened is representative scheduling the installation appointment told what the additional charge would be over and above the Service charge of $89.00. They told me the technician will charge me what the cost is to install a thermostat above the $89.00 service charge. I didn't know that I would be charged $141.00. Not Pleased.

I have had service with other air conditioning companies and none have been more responsive or professional than One Hour Heating and Air. I am really and truly a legitimate customer so please know that these comments are the absolute truth, based on my experience with them. They really do a good job from start to finish. I bought their maintenance plan about 2 years ago which was reasonably priced and very necessary in Florida due to the type of weather we have. Since my initial visit with them, I have remained impressed with their service. They call you when your service is due and work with your schedule to get the job done. Their HVAC guys are all super professional, friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and I can't say enough about that!
Last night I had an emergency AC event where my unit just abruptly stopped working. I called their emergency number because they actually have someone ON CALL! I can't even get that kind of service from my dentist's office! When John arrived at my home he diagnosed the problem in literally seconds, got to work, and was in and out so quickly I only had time to watch a tiny bit of my Netflix show! Plus the fact that he explained what the problem was and advised me about scheduling my next maintenance shows shows caring and respect. They do not GOUGE you, either, and do QUALITY work! They are truly a gift to the South Florida area! Put them to the test and see for yourself...you will say, "Oh, that lady was right! They ARE the BEST!" Thank you John!....and thank you One Hour Heating and Air!

One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning -what a joke! I would give them a 0 rating! I would never recommend this company to anyone. I had an electric furnace and air conditioner installed in August of 2016. At first the company was okay to deal with but in 2020 it changed. I belonged to their Comfort Club which I paid a fee for each month. Supposedly you had preference over other customers for making appointments for service and repairs. They sent technicians to my house that weren't qualified in my opinion. The one technician asked me where the pilot light was at on my electric furnace. I even knew that there was no pilot light on an electric furnace!
If you called for service they would give you appointments anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months out. The one technician told me they were buying up other companies and didn't have the manpower to handle the workload. In September of last year my compressor went and when I called them it took 1 week for the technician to come to my house and diagnose the issue and another week for them to come out and install the new compressor. The weather was in the 80's and my house temperature was in the 80's! Then in January this year we had temperatures in the single digits and my furnace went. When I called they said they could be there in 10 days!! I called another company and they were at my house in 3 hours. I dropped the Comfort Club after that!
The same company that fixed my furnace came out in the beginning of May because One Hour couldn't come out until June 25 for an air conditioner tune up. The reputable company found that the compressor that was installed in October of 2023 was bad. So I made the best decision of my life and had the reputable company take out the piece of crap furnace and air conditioner and install a brand new one. When I called One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning to voice my complaints I talked to Ali for a little over 5 minutes and wanted to speak to her supervisor. I was put on hold for over 25 minutes of dead silence and hung up in frustration. I called right back and Alyssa connected me to her supervisor Mikayla in minutes. Mikayla basically called me a liar and said I wasn't on hold that long!! I was a customer and to be treated like that really made me mad. Again, this company is horrible to deal with-unqualified employees and unreliable products!!

Pasco County Tech Scott came one Saturday for 6 month maintenance. He was punctual, professional, and thorough. After which he asked the question if there was anything that needed to be addressed to which I once more complained about hot spots since the thermostat was moved from hallway to living room. He investigated both walking around my home to checking the ductwork in the attic. He agreed the thermostat should return to the hallway. He contacted his boss, conversed with me what needed to be done and got to work. Thank you so very much Scott for going above and beyond to ensure my family's comfort and satisfaction with this company.

10 years ago I had a new HVAC system installed and was then duped into joining their monthly maintenance plan. They told me the non-member charge for cleaning is $600 annually ($300 per cleaning) so the monthly fee more than pays for it. So ok fine. Recently I got a letter informing me of a modest increase of $2 per month. I was not happy but I’m glad it happened because it prompted me to do some checking. Here’s what I found: there is NO AC COMPANY in this area that charges more than $150 for cleaning/checkup/maintenance! Not only that but I had a repair a few years ago and it was almost $500. I’m like….where is my discount? I have the monthly thing! They told me that WAS the discounted price. Looking back I should have conducted my research then but live and learn. I say shop around and do some comparisons before you sign up for anything.

Joe showed up with a great attitude (even though it was Easter Sunday). He was very thorough, explained everything and took pride in his work (like people did years ago!). Thankfully, the unit only needs a couple small repairs (he showed us pictures of the parts to replace) & he saved our sale! Thank you One Hour!!!! One Hour and Heating and Conditioning will no longer be servicing our Air condition and Furnace Units. The integrity of this particular location of 240 Clearfield Ave, suite 306B, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, failed customer satisfaction in almost every detail. The first issue was that they canceled our Service Plan (Comfort Club) without notifying us. Our Credit Card was reissued to us in 2022 to due Fraud, and when they could not process the payment, One Hour just shut our services off. The front office said they called us twice leaving no voice message nor email. With spam calls we do not answer unless we know the name. So not leaving a message was not helpful.
On August 30th, We had a drip leak coming from the Smoke Detector in the smaller bedroom. I went up in the attic to discover the bottom of the upstairs A/C unit had 3 inches of water in the pan. We called One hour and at this point they make an appointment for the next day. This is where I found out that our Comfort Care was no longer active and that we had missed 2 years of service.
On Aug 31st midafternoon, ** arrives and access the damage. At this point the ceiling is damp. He states that the Upper pan of A/C unit is not draining due to a clog. He shows me and it light brown rusty sludge. He also states that the return from the A/C to the hall has some water in and recommends being repaired with a patch. He suggested this was our fault for not having the unit services. I told him I need to talk with his manager, and he replied “What for?" I asked him to step out of my house while I call the manager at one hour. After discussion with the Manager at one Hour, we decided to go ahead with the clearing of the drain and patch. We also signed back up for the Comfort Care.
While ** was repairing the Return from the Furnace, 4-5 gallons of water dumped from the attic through ceiling dry wall to bedroom below. I told him through the ceiling what had happened and did not immediately respond. Then I go to where he is in attic, and then he came down and saw the damage. Part of the dry wall was hanging down. I pulled it down to prevent more damage to the bed. Apparently, he put in his notes that this hole was there prior to him coming over. Hence the integrity problem here. This was all done at approximately 1100pm.
I notified One Hour Monday and they said they would send a representative to the house (**). **looked at the hole and saw the return patch that was made. **told me that he was the guy that the company use to do Dry Wall repairs and likely could complete the next day. He then proceeded to the attic and stated that the patch performed prior was not correct and also place a PVC valve on the valve of the drain line to help get more air in it.
Everything seemed like we were going to get the situation fixed at the lowest level until someone from one hour called. After that ** demeanor changed. He then started taking questions personally. We were suppose to receive a phone call from **. Never Happened. I cancelled my appointment and called and let one hour know that we will pursue this repair and service another way. Also to cancel our Service Plan. They immediately responded with I sign a contract. The One Hour Guarantees is not what I experienced.

Steve was thorough on the Annual Maintenance/Tune-up and I am very pleased with the results performed on my 3 year old Goodman Air Conditioner. He even cleaned off the many leaves trapped to the grill, reset my thermostat and checked my ceiling air filters which were recently replaced and they look fine.

Very disappointed and now I am livid. Yesterday, technician Daryl came to do an annual tune-up of my A/C that One Hour installed new 3 years ago. This technician was by my A/C for a short time and then went to my front yard water tap for what reason I do not know. He ended up knocking on my door with part in hand and said I need a new capacitor. He said feel it, it is hot but no it was warm because we are in 3-digit temps. The part still looked brand new and I ended up taking the existing part back from him. He probably did something to the part with my water to have a different reading.
This morning, I could not put the hose back on to water my tree which is dying, I am livid. He was not at my A/C unit very long. I know the last 2 technicians did a real tune-up for the length of time they spent and they never used my water in front. Daryl said my unit will stop working if I do not replace the capacitor and had no choice due to the 3-digit temps. With a $59.00 coupon I presented he still charged me $173.00. The part on Amazon is $27.10. In addition, he just looked up at my ceiling and said yes it looks like the filters are in properly where previously, the other technicians opened the grill to check. I was pleased with this company until now. The company was affiliated with Ben Franklin Plumbing in which I was also taken advantage of by one of their technicians. Not all technicians are bad people but there are some rotten apples in every basket.

When your a/c is broken in summer, you do what you have to do. The person came and said it needed Freon, but it still didn't work, it was blowing warm air. Come to find out the issue was the switch, so he didn't fix the switch, he disabled the heater to stop the warm air from blowing. He charged for the Freon, then pressured me into signing a one year maintenance contract for my "discount" because the Freon would be $1,000 otherwise. When I balked he said, "Well I'll have to add $300 to your price now" (at first it was $250). He didn't fix the unit, it ran nonstop, so I found another company to install a new unit.
I knew from another review that they would not allow me to cancel the charges, although I did ask when they called to schedule the maintenance. I told them I don't need the maintenance, I have a new unit and she said she would refer me to the business office and they would call me, but they never did and the charges are still on my credit card. The repair man wasn't a good repairman, but he was a good (pushy) sales person. I think they make most of their money from the maintenance agreements. I would recommend that you get to know a local repair person and form a relationship for the future so you don't get stuck with companies like this in an emergency.

It is my fault that we were grossly overcharged for a new heating and cooling system plus a dehumidifier and vapor barrier in the crawl space. I let myself be "smooth talked" into signing up and paying thousands more than I should have because a neighbor recommended One Hour Heating and Cooling. After many phone calls and two return visits by the installers who informed us that they were not getting paid for these extra necessary trips, we wound up with a system that seems to be working BUT we got NO manufacturer's warranty. The only "warranty" is a piece of paper from the franchise. If they go out of business we are totally stuck.
We got a different story from every person (6 in total) we talked to in this unhappy process, and there is no way of knowing if any one of them was telling us the truth. They all tell you the bare minimum of what sounds like an answer - but the next person tells you something totally different. Live and learn: Learning can be very expensive! Get a few quotes from reputable local contractors - do not deal with these people at all.

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. (Short version: After paying $503, my home is hotter than it was before One Hour Heating and Cooling visited my home.) I called on Monday because I had issues cooling my home below 75-76 during the hottest part of the day, but it would cool to 70-71 at night. Highs in Bham, AL have been ~95. While the temperature inside my house was not unbearable, I wanted to have my HVAC unit checked out before the next heatwave hit.
MONDAY: The technician arrived at 2PM. At this time, the temperature inside my home was 75, and the outdoor temp was at its high of 92 (comfortable, but not hitting my sweet spot of 72). By 2:30PM, the technician completed the diagnostic, told me that my unit was low on freon, and quoted $503 to add 3 lbs. He told me that I should be good to go in a few hours but advised that there MIGHT be a leak and it’s possible the freon would continue to leak. He told me if there was a leak, the freon would only last me a few months, and I might back in the same position come Sept/Oct.
Because the temperature in my home was 76 during the hottest part of the day, I decided to go ahead and have the technician add freon for $503. Based on his assessment, the worst outcome would be that my HVAC would be functioning as before come early Fall when outdoor temperatures are cooler. I figured adding freon would get me through the hottest months of the year and into Fall. Because my AC cooled fine at night when the outside temps were cooler, I was OK with this outcome. It would give me time to shop for a company to replace my system.
3-8PM: While the outdoor temps were dropping, the temps inside my home were rising. By 8PM, my thermostat was reading 84-85. MY HOME HAD NEVER EVER BEEN THAT HOT BEFORE – even during the hottest days the week before when Bham was under a heat advisory. THE TEMPERATURE INSIDE MY HOME HAD INCREASED 10 DEGREES AFTER PAYING $503 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I called customer service that night and explained what was going on. They told me they would send a tech the next day (Tuesday) but couldn’t give me a time window so I had to use PTO again to wait on the tech. Monday night was extremely rough, with inside temps reaching 86 while outdoor temps ranged from 70-76. At one point, it was 15 degrees hotter inside than outside.
TUESDAY. The tech arrived at 11:20AM (same tech as before). At ~12PM, he informed me that the compressor wasn’t running because the capacitor was bad. I asked why he added freon the day before if the problem was a bad capacitor. He told me that the compressor was running fine and the capacitor wasn’t broken the day before. He said it must have “COINCIDENTALLY” failed in 1-2 hrs after he left (I kid you not, he said this was a COINCIDENCE, & he sees it all the time). He changed the capacitor and told me the freon levels were perfect and where they should be. I was annoyed, but hopeful my AC would be fixed. After ~3hrs, the temp inside had dropped to 80-81…which is still 6 degrees HOTTER than before the tech ever came out.
I called customer service again at ~4:45. They told me they could send a new tech the following day, but because they were so busy, they couldn’t give me a time, meaning I’d have to take PTO for a 3rd day to wait for a tech. They also told me it’d be another $89 for them to visit if they discovered a “new issue” with my HVAC. She said if there weren’t any “new issues,” then I wouldn’t be charged the $89. Seeing how my capacitor “COINCIDENTALLY” broke in the 1-2 hr after the tech left, I was obviously not OK with paying another $89. As he said, they see these COINCIDENCES ALL THE TIME, so I have no doubt there’d be another coincidence. After talking to her manager, they agreed to waive the $89 fee. Because I can’t take off from work again tomorrow, I’ll have to wait until Friday for a new tech to come out. As of 9PM on Tuesday, it's 81 degrees (hotter than it was before they ever visited). We’ll see what Friday brings.

The One Hour Air-Conditioning & Heating tech arrived, removed the blower cover inside my house, turned the AC unit on, and just LOOKED at it and said: "Your blower motor is shot and needs replacing". He said the cost would be UPWARDS of $1500 to replace the motor. Then he said that it would probably be better to just REPLACE THE ENTIRE Inside Air Handler... Somewhere between 3 and 5 thousand!! He was pushing this idea and even giving me estimated monthly notes. I thanked him for the diagnose, paid the $100 diagnostic fee, and asked him to leave.
I called the next company and the tech came and opened the blower cover and connected a meter and began testing. Five minutes later he said that the control board is bad. I asked him about the blower motor and he said that it was fine...just the control board needed replacing. He replaced the control board and was pulling out of our driveway 37 minutes after arriving and the TOTAL COST was $620-That included the $85 diagnostic charge! After 2 years of One Hour not honoring their warranties, I finally called another company who charged us close to $1000 dollars to replace a couple of parts. The contractor even commented, "these parts should last at least 10 years, not 2". I politely reminded him they never worked.

This is how this company works. They will provide an outstanding first service to you in order to create a good impression. Once you subscribe to their maintenance program, they will do everything possible to have a visit at your place as soon as possible. In my case, Austin came to point out the worn out parts in my system (no actual maintenance nor cleaning was provided). Then the worst happened, “coincidentally” my outdoor unit was declared as failed and compressor stopped working during his maintenance test (it was working perfectly that morning and no issues even during the deep freeze we had), followed by all the options to install a complete new system from 9K to 17K.
This sounded very suspicious and I called my cousin, who is engineer. He was able to fix my compressor in 2 minutes, HE NOTICED THAT WIRING WAS COMPROMISED TO CAUSE IT TO GROUND AND BURN. I can’t describe the frustration and anger I feel towards the unethical and unprofessional behavior of One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating. They should be ashamed to embroider the American flag on their uniform. Sharing this so that no other customer falls on this type of despicable techniques.

I was first introduced to Scott’s One Hour Air when my AC stopped working in the middle of the summer. My wife was home that day and after calling around Scott’s was the only place that would respond that day. $1450 later the tech replaced the condenser fan motor and capacitor. That price seemed very steep to me but my wife had her AC again in and in just a half a day’s time. Six months later during a routine service visit the tech discovered mold behind the air handler. I knew this old house needed new ducts as well so I spent $19K on a complete 3 ton system for my 1275 square foot home. New green flex ducts, compressor and air handler and Scott’s top tier warranty. The sales person readily agreed to everything I asked for and the contract was signed. This included 18 SEER Goodman system, lifetime electronics warranty and 20 year compressor warranty.
The install went well until the installers wanted to change the air handler location from the attic back to a tiny closet where the old 2.5 ton air handler was. This was measured several times before the contract was signed and it was determined to be too small for the 3 ton unit. The installers said they could now somehow squeeze it in but I said no. Everything went downhill from there. I had to put up with their nasty attitudes until they were finished. The final inspection was dismal as the master bedroom was 4 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. The other two bedrooms sounded like an arctic blast coming out of the ducts. Several visits later the duct design was changed to a 10” direct feed but that only helped by 2 degrees. The last tech said there was some restriction in the master bedroom duct work and that he couldn’t get to the roof area over the bedroom as he was too big.
The installation manager Eric finally told me that if I don’t stop complaining his installers might come to my home and physically assault me. Wow, really bad way of dealing with failure. I tried to go up the ladder but that was proving difficult and I kept getting Eric instead. The owner seemed to be well insulated from his customers. I believe an indication of a badly run company. This top tier service plan I purchased included six month interval visits. Very young techs were sent out and they seemed more interested in selling me upgrades than actually doing any preventative maintenance work. Most had sour looks when they discovered I had originally bought every upgrade possible. None of the techs ever cleaned the condenser and evaporator. When I asked why not I was always told they were not dirty. One tech even came out and asked if everything was working ok then turned around and left.
Several months after the install but still under the original “bumper to bumper” warranty period the system stopped cooling. It had developed a R410 leak somewhere. Out of the next three visits none of the techs looked at the evaporator. They just looked over the condenser, scratched their heads and made excuses to not go into the attic where the air handler was. Every visit the R410 was charged up along with some dye and off they went. After some time I was contacted by someone from Scott’s One Hour saying I needed to sign a different lesser warranty contract as they no longer offered the original contract I signed. I said no. I want to keep my original contract. Their response to this was to just stop coming out for maintenance without informing me. I was working 60+ hours a week and let time slip by with no visit from Scott’s. I never had to call for routine maintenance before so why now?
Later on even this 3 ton unit could not keep my small house cool again. I called the 888 number and they sent a young tech out. He injected even more dye without inspecting the evaporator. This visit was when I realized they voided my warranty by not coming out. The tech asked why I stopped the original top tier maintenance and I replied that I didn’t. Scott’s just stopped coming out or contacting me. I can only assume that maybe they wanted to shed the better warranty I signed up and paid for. Taught me a lesson! I guess the leak of refrigerant during the original warranty has legal EPA ramifications if not addressed so they did respond to this service for a service fee.
Next visit was another young tech who at first tried to convince me my 7 day old air filter was dirty. Once I got him back on track he found the leak in the evaporator and left. The third visit was another young tech who seemed a bit more mature than the first two. He replaced the evaporator which took him about eight hours. I tried to provide some cool air via a portable AC unit but the attic still was in the 90’s but at least not the usual 120 degrees. He also swapped out the orifice valve with an un-insulated external TXV valve. Of course this leaks condensation so I had to fabricate a separate drip pan piggy backed on the main drip pan below the air handler case to keep my ceiling dry. I guess the condensation just evaporates away and causes no harm to my attic?
He also forgot to bring nitrogen for the welding and did not follow the manufacture’s recommended procedure of evacuating the entire system, run a vacuum and charge by weight. After the evaporator replacement the system has been working well other than a very slight surge sound from the compressor. After this repair and on just one day with a house full of people going in and out the house and it being a 100 degree day the system couldn’t keep the house cooler than 78. I made sure every home owner there knew it was a Scott’s One Hour Air system install.
Recently I noticed black soot above the surge protection device on the AC quick disconnect. After research I discovered it was a Scott’s One Hour installed non-UL certified SyCom unit that blew apart. I’m glad it wasn’t a wooden wall as it might have started a fire. I informed my wife that I needed to replace it and she asked why Scott’s wasn’t replacing it under the expensive plan I purchased. I had to tell her that we were scammed out of the original warranty. That got me to contact Scott’s One Hour. I asked them to provide in writing the reason for not coming out under my original service plan. After several days and a follow up email I was contacted via phone by Scott **. Neither he nor anyone else would answer my question. I then asked about the hero’s plan for veterans the first tech signed me up for. His answer was that they did not have to call me to arrange for service but rather I had to call them.
He also indicated my system needed a yearly service from them to maintain any warranty and it had not been serviced by them in over two years. Scott did offer to sign me up for a $25 a month service plan that included duct cleaning for my new green flex ducts. After thinking about the Scott’s One Hour Air young kid technicians practicing on my expensive new ducts I declined that offer and requested the hero’s plan yearly service for military veterans such as myself. I have not received any phone call or Email since I made that request and by now I realize I never will. I can only assume that their hero’s plan for military veterans is just an advertisement gimmick.
During the many hot months here in Florida we have to run a 20” floor fan from the cooler part of the house directed to the master bedroom to keep it comfortable. Very sad situation for a 3 ton AC unit in a small home to have to freeze out the rest of the house so the bedroom is comfortable. I’ll install a ceiling access in the bedroom one day during a cooler month so I can find and replace that large tie wrap or whatever else is restricting the airflow. Maybe run a larger duct also. I was looking forward to a long lasting relationship with Scott’s One Hour Air but I can only assume by now they only care about you during the sale of a new system. For the reasons above I could never recommend Scott’s One Hour Air to my friends, neighbors or anyone else.

I recently called One Hour Heating in Terryville, CT location to see my AC unit as it was not blowing cold air. The technician came and diagnosed that my capacitor and compressor wire is not working and charged me $700 to replace which he said I have to pay all upfront. After paying, tech came after 3 days to replace the parts; after turning on he said my compressor is bad and condenser unit also need replacement which will cost $2600 on top of $700 that I originally paid then tech also tricked me to pay an extra $250 transfer fee as he said he will have to go to New Haven, CT to get the part otherwise I may have to wait for 3-4 weeks to get the part.
He was too pushy, to spare me and pregnant wife from hot weather, I asked him to replace my condenser as soon as possible. Next day he came and started replacing my unit at 8:00 am in the morning without ringing any doorbell. After he finished and turned on the AC he said something is bad and said my evaporator coil is also bad and asked me to replace it with a different company coil for another $2800.
I said him that I am not comfortable and I need second opinion. Then he pushed me to pay money, I paid him the balance for condenser just to get rid of him. I called a different company and asked for the quote. They gave me $1800 quote for replacing the coil. I went with them and got my coil replaced and after turning on the unit they found out the replaced condenser unit fan motor was not working, which should be under warranty.
When I called One Hour Heating again and this is the saddest part, Office person on phone said she is told to not to take our call and they will not service us. I need to call another company and hangup my call. I asked my wife to call from her phone as well and they said same to her. They never honored any of their written warranties. Installed bad unit and refused as the warranties and services they boast about on their website. I wish I never have called them.

We’ve been serving local families for 12 years, and customer satisfaction is our number one priority. We explained during the call that we wouldn’t know why the compressor went bad until the replacement. After our tech gave options, the customer was aggressive and demeaning. When the tech completed the installation, we found issues with pressures due to a restriction in the evaporator coil. When informed, the customer was disagreeable. It was clear that we are not a good fit for this customer.

At 11 AM today the tech from One Hour Air arrived to check my AC unit. I only wanted coils cleaned but tech said price would be $1000 as coils needed to be taken from attic & cleaned outside, which is not true as I've had them cleaned before right in the attic where they are. He went on to tell me that I needed new ductwork for $8000 & wanted me to finance which I can't as I am on a very limited income as I'm disabled. Not that they care, they are salesmen trying to make some bucks for themselves & the company & had no interest in doing any service work, they just wanted to try to overcharge me & sell me expensive things. All I got for this disappointing experience is that I had to pay a $79 service call for nothing & believe me that money could have went to much better use. I feel they should refund my $79. They left me in tears with a hot house. I'm disgusted, they are so greedy & only in it for themselves, not to help customers.

Literally have had this unit for a couple of months now. Was working fine... Well 2 days ago it stopped. We had to call. Tech showed up on time even “fixed” the issue. Claimed a wire came lose and made contact with another wire and tripped the system. Now here we are today not even two days later it’s 85 degrees in my house and once again the unit is not working. It’s a brand new unit we had to take out an $8500 loan for to have that and the air handler replaced and already having issues w/ new equipment!?!? Had chicks in an incubator and others pipped and we’ve lost 9 so far and counting because the incubators can’t regulate correctly w/ the 76% humidity in our house now and 85 degree temps. This is my livelihood. That’s my profit down the drain for this month. That’s over $100 lost in dead chicks.
And they tell me they can’t make it out until tomorrow 2pm-5pm. I called them around 1pm today! I still have 15 other chicks in eggs that have pipped. Likely those will die too! So 24 chicks total over $250 in lost profit plus my old ** dog is panting her ** off and I have 35 duck eggs and 4 turkey eggs set to hatch out in 5 days. Likely they’re already compromised now. That is a $500 loss on top of so far my $100 loss. Add on the other 15 and total amount of chicks lost profit $750 for the month. Two days after being fixed equipments brand new and only a couple months since we got it replaced and this is happening. Either the equipment is crap or the work down is temp fixes. Could be more than that too. We all know how companies can be....
Before I submit let me check temp again. Lovely 86 degrees now and 76% humidity. Are you kidding me. Better hope and pray my dog doesn’t end up dead w/ a heat stroke. Fans aren’t helping either! Do you even care about people or just the payday? See we have the insurance covered everything so far but I’m willing to bet it’ll be something random and outside of that insurance at some point given they’re going to get tired of not getting paid. Good thing I’ve got lawyers that deal w/ both civil and criminal sides of the law. Let’s see how they handle it from here! I’m about to get one or both involved.

This company does not stand behind what it advertises. If you are not satisfied you don’t pay, well I am not satisfied at all. This company sent a tech (so that is what they called him) to a look at my problem. No circulating fan for heat. He came and looked at my unit and first could not find anything. I also want you to know I am an Electrician and I checked ALL the fuses and circuit breakers. All was good. Now the tech came in and removed my thermostat. Thought he would straighten out the wires, well in doing so he blew my 24v fuse on the board which I had checked before I called them. The tech went out. Replaced the fuse and went to his truck.
While he was in his truck I thought I would make sure the a.c. worked and it did not. None of it would come on. I asked the tech why it was off and he said cause he put the old fuse back in until we dealt with the bill. 266.00 for a 3amp fuse and FOUR hours and half of that time was on the phone. I could go on for a lot longer, but I won’t. Just the unit broke two nights later. They sent the same tech with a trainee and FOUR more hours and they could not find anything wrong. A lot of it might be this or it might be that. Please DO NOT EVER USE ONE HOUR COMFORT.

We were buying a house and during inspection we noticed the heat was not working. It was put into agreement that heat needed to be fixed by sellers. They fought us on this but eventually agreed. They hired One Hour. They came out, inspected furnace, replaced the inducer motor and said everything was fine. We did final inspection same night and heat was blowing. So we purchased house with knowledge that they had a paid invoice from one hour and we felt heat coming through vents. Next day after we sign and get keys and go to the house heat is not working. Had fallen to 52 on thermostat. Called one hour. They sent same gentleman who replaced inducer motor that night. He said motor was bad as it was only putting out at 88 and should be 110 or more. So he ordered another motor.
Next night a different guy came out to put in new motor. After inspection of the unit this guy tells me that the way it is working it is indicative of the heat exchanger being cracked. He then went to his van and called his office/supervisor. After that conversation he came back to me and said no there is no crack and the new inducer motor he installed is putting out at 88 but that is normal. Asked, "Then why did other tech say it was not and first motor was bad?" He said again it is normal to be at 88. Wrote on his invoice to me after I had to ask him to document what he had done. He was not going to he was going to leave but I asked for him to write down everything he just inspected and work he did. He wrote that he replaced inducer and that there was nothing else wrong with the unit and that the furnace was old and does not know how much longer it will last - to cover his **. The unit is 9 years old. It is not old.
The sellers found a company with no integrity to come out and rubber stamp that everything was ok with the furnace. Have since had 3 different companies come out and each one has said the heat exchanger is cracked. All 3 have said it is not safe to run the unit the way it is now and it would be wise to replace furnace because it is showing other signs of wear and tear and just replacing the heat exchanger would just mask it for a while. Purchased warranty for property and they have denied claim because all 3 companies have said this was a pre existing issue and should have been found by one hour and taken care of by the seller but they just rubber stamped the issue for the seller and took their money the seller offered.
This company has no scruples. No integrity. Not a company I will ever do business with and I hope nobody else will call this company either. They obviously do not know their jobs and are just in it to take your money and create more issues so you have to continue to call them to fix more issues they could have prevented but because of their lack of knowledge and integrity they created these issues for you the customer.

What a rip off this One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning/One Hour Magic is. Beware of this company! They nickel and dime you to death. I did NOT initially solicit them. I had a new HVAC system installed in my condo by 'A Air Conditioning' March, 2019. Evidently, they were bought out by 'One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning' also see them listed as 'One Hour Magic'. Okay, so I signed a service contract with them, and also signed a contract with the townhouse I have next door that I rent out annually. Both the condo and townhouse were built in 2006.
With the condo, every time there was a little debris in my air conditioning while I had guests renting during the season, the system would totally shut off until they came out and flushed the system. Needless to say it cost me a fortune. Now let's talk about the townhouse. The first time they came out they told me that I needed a new system. They installed a new HVAC system there that cost me $7500.00. The installation itself had issues. They had to come back out to remove the gook that looked like cement from the air filter area so we would be able to get to the air filter to change. I wasn't happy about that. This was in June, 2019.
Now they came back out in December, 2019 just for the 1 year maintenance that is under warranty. They now tell me that there are spores in the ductwork and it will cost $810.00 if I want to resolve the issue. Well, I really had not choice but to say yes on the spot, and wasn't able to have a second opinion since it was made known to the customer right then and there. I asked him why he was checking the ductwork when he was there to just change the filter and any potential maintenance on the new system. He told me it was part of the maintenance. I then asked him if it is part of the maintenance, why wasn't it made known to me the first time they were out doing maintenance when they had made it known to me that I needed a new system. Didn't have a good reason for that, but said it would have a lifetime warranty.
What is happening is every time they come out they want to find another issue so they can nickel and dime me. Well, they will only get me twice, because I told them not to go out and do any maintenance on either system. While it is under warranty and contract, if there is an issue, I will call them. In the meantime, I have found another HVAC contractor that was recommended to me and have called them to initiate a service contract starting next March, 2020, and will NEVER HIRE One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning again. They took advantage of me, but WILL NEVER AGAIN!

God bless the folks that make up the Chattanooga, TN One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning business! In particular the General Manager Wendy, and Technician Tony. My husband and I just moved into our new home and stopped by the Blairsville Home Depot and met with Mike in kitchen appliances. We were told about a special coupon that would save us some money on a complete check of the heating and cooling system, so we made an appointment with One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning.
We met Tony, one amazing man on a mission! We love when we come across folks that are 100% into their profession, with a high level of ethics, and on this day we found just that person named Tony. Tony stepped outside the box, as I later learned from his GM Wendy which is one of Tony's traits. This man loves what he does and takes pride in doing the best that he can do and will go to the nth degree to do it! I was very nervous about the intricate details about the heating portion of the unit and Tony told me how it works and what to look for as well as all about the maintenance program. I watched everything Tony did, and to see him in action is an amazing sight. He cleaned and re-cleaned to make sure it was impeccable. Tony is highly valued by his GM Wendy as he comes with countless accolades by all his clients.
I want to add that Tony is not only very professional with a high level of ethics, and many years of experience, but this man is so compassionate, caring and kind. There was an issue that led me to call and speak to GM Wendy, and although it wasn't Tony's fault, Wendy took it upon herself to make it right and for this action, they now have us a clients for their yearly maintenance, and will forever sing their praises.
In today's world, when you find a company that operates with this set of standards, YOU MUST SUPPORT THEM AND SHARE WITH OTHERS. We want everyone to know that General Manager Wendy, and Technician Tony are THE BEST OF THE BEST and deserve all the accolades given. Bountiful and boundless blessings of good health, safety, and may this business continue to grow, and that ALL THEY HAVE GIVEN OUT TO OTHERS COME BACK TO THEM 100%. Also, thank you to Blairsville Home Depot, Mike for sharing this amazing company!

Questioned why paying annual fee for no service in addition to service fee next day. Tried to cancel annual maintenance fee and was told I would OWE an additional balance in addition to losing already paid annual fee.
NOW they offered to come out and do the "early fall to winter" tune-up, cleaning and rejuvenating. What a waste of time and money! I have high humidity even when the heat is running not just the AC. Everything has been blamed from not enough returns to my thermostat. Original Review: Deltona, Fl. This company came to my house in 2016. We called them because our old AC unit was already 25 yrs old and not working properly. The CEO at the time, convinced us to buy a new unit for $6,000.00. Gave us an interest free loan for 6 months. Since nobody else offered this deal, we took it. We didn't have any other choice, we didn't have the money to get it cash from somebody else.
Well front of house didn't have AC. We called. They said we needed the ducts changed. $2,000.00 more we'll have to pay. We were Upset because they should have told us from the beginning. Well, we couldn't do it. Now they come back and did the ducts, added new returns, added new additional vents and still same problem. Tech came in and found 2 new ducts deflated and exhaust fan too high. This company sucks. On Monday a supv. Tech Is supposed to come to re-check system. Let's see how it will go.

I declined and called another company but still had to pay $129. The other company came out and found my heating element to be grounded causing my heat and a/c to be on at the same time within 5 minutes. 1Hour tech obviously was trained to sell new products and not fix what the customer asked for or didn’t know what he was doing. Obviously not enough troubleshooting experience to be on his own. Nice guy but not qualified to be on call by himself.
Called this morning and asked for my $129 back because they didn’t do their job and was told this evening when they called me back they don’t do refunds. Totally unprofessional when a homeowner has to call another company to fix/diagnose something I already paid for by 1 Hour Portland Tx. First off, he went to the wrong house and we had go get him. When he came in, it was more than obvious this was all about upselling and nothing more. Tried asking questions and although he answered, it was pure smoke blowing. 3 times he brought up the guarantee that if we weren't happy, they would come back, rip it all out and redo it. I had to question why such emphasis and came to the conclusion that if they needed a guarantee like this, obviously there was something wrong. Having an engineering degree, I'm not stupid, and did wonder why he insisted on things like widening the cold air intakes and stating a few times that it wasn't a standard install. Even asking something as important as tonnage I could barely get a straight answer.
Of course he had to knock all the local companies, stating that they would not do a good job and I couldn't help but to think back on that 3 time emphasis of guarantee. I ask for a simple rough estimate and instead of appeasing, he insisted upon setting another appointment. To me the company seems like bs, a total hard sell money grab. I had 3 estimates already which were consistent and not one of those discussed half the things One Hour did. They had been pretty straight forward and quickly answered all questions. Also, afterward, reading the One Hour reviews, I am so glad I didn't commit. One thing I will say good is that they easily confirmed that I will go with someone else.

Original company to replace my grandfather's 1991 Carrier that was 'diagnosed' to have a bad compressor. Replaced Carrier unit in July 2013 with a Goodman condenser and Goodman coil attached to Carrier air blower. Total cost $4800. Two years later (2015), up-sells my Granddad on a hard start kit for $315 due to 'noise on startup' (this was a 'maintenance' call to check the unit). TWO DAYS LATER, compressor windings burn up, costs my granddad another $800 for compressor replacement. Keep in mind grandpa is in AZ heat, desperate to keep cool. Kinda funny, huh. Unit runs for 3 years.
July 31st 2018, grandpa calls One Hour due to no cold air. (Mind you this is during mid summer in AZ heat) One Hour 'diagnoses' that the pump is bad and unit needs replacement. Cost is $5250 for JUST a GOODMAN condenser installed. He buys it, because, again, it's 114 degrees outside and he's desperate. Fast forward to 7-30-2019, air handler goes out with no fan. Granddad calls One Hour again since they send him tons of ads every month for reminders. Of course that's another $89 service call. 'Tech' says blower motor is no good and dirty, ($1000+ to repair) recommends entire replacement of air handler at the tune of $4300 dollars! Granddad calls me this time letting me know the ac went out. I almost fell off my chair when he told me the story. I told him to hold off and I drive the 200 miles to his house to inspect/fix.
I immediately find the 24V control transformer in the unit has failed ($13 part) due to the condenser contactor coil having a short ($9 part). Replace both and the 'bad' motor whirs right on. What got me irritated was the hack job that I saw in the attic from the 2013 install. Goodman coil was TAPED to the Carrier unit, UNSUPPORTED by straps, LAYING on top of the rafters. The tape had completely failed, leaking roughly 50% of the conditioned air into the attic. The original drain pan for the condensate was ripped out of the way and not connected to the drain pipes, and the drywall ceiling had a crack in it. The condensate line had NO insulation, and was dripping water onto the rafters. Luckily it was hot up there and the water never made it to the drywall.
Seeing all this crap install, I call One Hour up 7-31-2019 to ask why the install is substandard. They send a tech out to look. Tech calls the office and office states they didn't install the unit in 2013. What?? Luckily my Grandfather is very organized. I dig deeper and find all these past invoices from One Hour. 2013, 2015, 2018. My blood was boiling, and not from the AZ sun. So my granddad has spent OVER $12000 with this company. The work is NOT to code or quality. I WILL be contacting the AZ state attorney general for elder abuse and extortion if this company does not rectify the horrendous install. Pictures are provided upon request.

Things didn't go as he expected. I didn't bite on a new system. Well I've had them back out to my house Three (3) more times for problems with my unit. Called One Hour because we were worried our 3 year old system was underperforming. Ended up being told we needed $16K in new ductwork! Also said that we had white "growth" in vents due to leaks. The cheapest option to fix was $7K for a UV light. Never addressed the cooling issue except to offer to change the capacitor for $190 labor (part was under warranty). I declined and had another repair company out the next day. Was told everything was functioning perfectly, the ducts were great, and the "growth" was dust! The cooling issue was just due to excessive summer heat. I will never call One Hour again and advise all to stay away.

In 2016, my husband and I purchased a new air conditioner unit from One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning (OHHAC). Ever since we purchased the air conditioner, we been having multiple issues with this unit. Every time a service tech comes out, they didn’t fix the problem concerning this unit, instead their goal was to sell additional services and products. However, the issue with the AC unit never gotten fixed. One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning said the unit needed a new compressor and they charged us over $1,200 for a new compressor. However, the new compressor broke within the year.
In order to attempt to fix the air conditioner OHHAC sent four different technicians and finally a field supervisor went out and said that the new compressor that was installed one year ago, the installer put too much refrigerant into the system and that he did not understand the diagnosis the technicians made. After the field supervisor said he fixed the unit, the unit broke again within one week. Now because of all these problems with the AC unit the tenants I rent to are upset and we may lose good paying tenants because OHHAC technicians don’t have the proper training to fix our unit.
We tried to speak with upper management about our concerns and left several messages but they don’t return our calls. We have tried to cancel our Comfort Club membership and we were told we would have to pay $98 for early terminations fee. OHHAC company have been lying to us, and taking our money. When you call the after hour they want to charge to come out and there is management to fix the issues. In the future we would never do business with this company moving forward.

Got an unsolicited email for a checkup clean your AC unit before the summer. Big mistake I fell for the offer and scheduled. I felt as though I was dealing with a technical service person talking a good game, but I felt uncomfortable about his trustworthiness. He left 2 1/2 hours later with my $160 service call fee paid, offering to have the people out within an hour to replace my unit and coil for $10,000. Or I could pay $300 a pound for R-22 (Freon) needed which he said was about 4-5 pounds. Sooooooooooo, had a second opinion HVAC company come out next day, 2 1/2 pounds of Freon added, unit is perfectly fine.... $180. Tech came to do with the college tuneup, I have this done every year before the summer months. I’ve used several companies here in Las Vegas in the last 15 years, and I have never received such awful customer service, follow up, pushback as I have with this One Hour air conditioning service. First about the tech told me what was wrong with my system, he never said anything about checking the Freon or putting on Freon or a charge for Freon. He just went on and on about how I need a new system.
When I realize there was nothing in the service report about the Freon I called the next morning at 7 AM. It is now 4:20 PM and I have not heard from the tech and the manager was supposed to call me. He called me once and left a message but I was in the other room and having physical therapy. I have yet to have anybody call me to make arrangements to come and charge the Freon which is usually something that is done on a tuneup. Space I would not use this company again nor would I consider them to come and install a new system as I told the tech I would make an appointment in the next month or so after I recovered from my surgery nor would I recommend this company to anybody.

I had a service plan - originally they were called Meacham HVAC. I paid $26.99 per month for their plan for 5.5 years. A couple years ago they recommended that I have new duct work installed that has a bigger filter because they have found that it saves the heating system. I paid $1,200 dollars for this...dumb on my part. Recently, I had them come into service my AC unit. It was 48 degrees out. He was done in my cellar for maybe 10 minutes then came up to ask me if I had issues cooling last summer. I told him no. My system is old. I know that.
He then proceeded to give me a quote of over $3000 to try to find the leak and put 5 lbs of gas in...that might not fix it...suggested a new one. Ok, I told him I work for a contractor. I'm not that stupid. Also, my filter was dirty. I was going to change it in a week, but asked if he had one on the truck. He said, "We don't carry that size". I was furious. I said your company installed the duct work and cabinet, I called a month ago for this appointment, don't you think you should have filters on the truck? Needless, to say I cancelled my maintenance contract with them. I asked her whey they didn't have filters...same answer. Also, I said no discount for repairs or new installs as a customer. She said I have the wrong maintenance plan for that. They are just looking to take money. Very disappointed since they became 'One Hour Service".

I had scheduled to have both units cleaned for their 49.00 special offered on tv and was informed by their tech he didn't have a ladder to clean split unit. I told him we'll just clean the whole house unit. I got out the hose and he informed me he would only check the unit for 49.00 and a cleaning would be $ 129.00, then he told me that if any warranty work was needed his company had a meeting this morning and decided any Trane work would be paid in full.
He said Trane doesn't want to cover any warranty work so the customer pays and if they get paid they would refund the difference. I said to him that, "What you are saying is you guys don't want to do Trane work." His reply was, "You can call another Trane dealer and see if they will service units." He then said, "Well do you want me to check the unit?" My reply was the unit is running fine and there is nothing to check. I then told him to go ahead and leave because you guys wasted my whole day. I am being told by another A/C company that the inside txv valve is bad and the indoor coils are leaking and both need to be changed ($2,200.00)and that the units are not under warranty because One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning never registered them. Furthermore, the whole air handler would have to be pulled out and reinstalled because of the terrible installation that was done where the unit could not be properly accessed for repair and install wasn't even performed per building code.
The One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning that installed the units is no longer in business due to the franchise owner passing away and the Corporate office for One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning says it’s not for them to take care of because all franchises are independently owned. I spoke with both Deidra & Jay at corporate about this issue. This is terrible business practice because they make money on every $ of revenue the franchise makes.

The company owes the homeowner the difference in the cost of the original unit which was sold to the disabled homeowner in 2011 with a ten year guarantee.
The company needs to lower the cost of the replacement unit as well. The company also needs to lower the interest rate of both the duct system which was a scare tactic applied by another technician due to comfort care visit. The company failed to honor the ten year guarantee it sold to the disabled homeowner in 2011. The discrimination this company continues to show disabled homeowners is wrong.

The company needs to honor the ten year full replacement and refund us the cost of the original system we are still paying on ($2,475.64), the entire cost of the replacement system ($13,299.00) and the duct work repayment interest cost needs to be immediately reduced to 3.99% interest plus reduced in price to remove the commission paid to employee. The company uses high pressure scare tactics and provides employee incentive for commission. The comfort care program provides maintenance for the customer while providing access for employees to promote additional sales.
The company has been late to appointments scheduled by the company frequently, even with a wide range of hours for the appointment scheduling. They claim these Oxy Quantum systems costing $1,500 per unit will solve the issues, yet when you ask for information on the system they give you the vaguest information, one sheet of zero detail, a system like that should have a book of technical specs to accompany it.
Then on top of that they sell you on duct cleaning of which I've been told I didn't need as long as I am changing my filters regularly which the guy who came out saw, he also saw that I got the best filters you can buy so again I was OVERsold for thousands of dollars. I don't usually get bamboozled like that, yet I just had another technician here who said they hadn't even put my filter door on properly and that they have a reputation of being quite a rip off company. I was made to feel like I was allowing us all to breathe this awful air which truly I am sure was not the case, it was simply a case of my systems being old. Wouldn't that be included in the cost of something so incredibly expensive?

The circuit board was over $800). This current problem just so happened during a severe heatwave with heat the index reaching 110-115 degrees for 3 plus days.
The next day when he said he'd return, came and after 2 hours waiting for them to show up, I finally call them. He's decided that he'll just come out the next morning at 6 a.m. (He never called me to tell me this) I told them this was unacceptable and I needed him to come out that same day that he promised. He of course refused and told me it was my warranty company that is causing the delay and to find a different vendor! Are you kidding me! I called my warranty company and they said he told them he was trying to find the part... Really??? Where would he find the part on Monday morning before 6:00 a.m. which is when he'd be able to return?
My warranty company spoke to him and we agreed on Monday (like I had much choice at this point). Today is Monday and I've been up and ready since 5:30 a.m... Beware of using this dishonest, disreputable company. My 86 yo mother-in-law got suckered into their ‘monthly maintenance package’ for her HVAC system. She called to have maintenance performed on her HVAC. A female technician showed up and spent four hours doing essentially nothing, other than to report that her ducts were dirty, her filters were dirty (she has electronic filters and the tech told her ‘my boss says these can’t be cleaned, they have to be replaced’ - yeah, right, these filters have been individually cleaned several times over the years) and then tried to sucker her into various repairs and cleanings totaling over $775.
On top of that, one of two things happened: 1) The tech either proceeded to intentionally sabotage her furnace unit to require another unneeded, expensive call back (by improperly replacing the furnace front covers preventing the electrical safety interlock switch from closing and allowing the AC to run) or, 2) she is a total idiot and completely incompetent. I can’t tell which - the tech did use the word ‘duck’ in place of ‘duct’ in several places on the work order (odd thing for a ‘fully trained technician’ to do), so either one is very dangerous - either a completely dirt-rotten company trying to intentionally scam an old lady or they hire incompetent fools, who because of their stupidity could very easily have your house explode. Their actions could have very well caused an 86 year old lady to have suffered heat stroke in the high 90/low 100 degree temperatures we’ve had. Scheduled an appointment for 6-3-18 as it was taking quite some time for interior of house to cool. I presumed I needed freon. Mike **, the technician, checked the freon, and it was fully charged. He checked inside the furnace and found condensation on the copper coils. Said that there was NO issue. I was told that he learned in HVAC school that it takes 1-2 hours to drop one degree inside on a hot day. I've owned homes in Palm Springs, CA, and Phoenix, AZ, and it's never taken that amount of time to cool off inside. Currently, I reside in Indianapolis, IN, where there is a humidity factor, however, 1-2 hour cool off period seemed excessive to me. He mentioned my unit, a Trane, was 17 years old, and I may want to think about replacing the entire system in the future. That seemed excessive as well. I spent $89.95 for the service call only to be told there was no issue.
Mike left, and the unit ran for nearly two hours before I turned it off after not reaching the desired temperature of 76 degrees. I checked with a private source who asked if Mike had placed a thermometer at the floor vent, and the answer was no; was told that is a part of the checklist which should have been performed. I called One Hour back, and spoke with David, with whom I scheduled the initial appointment. I explained the problem with the system running and NEVER reaching temperature. He said another tech could be sent, but if there was no problem, I'd have to pay another $89.95, at which point, I said that a thorough inspection was NOT done. I was placed on hold, he checked with a supervisor, and the answer was still the same. I was advised that the manager, Corey, would call back after I requested a callback from management, but it could be the next day before I heard anything.
I disconnected, and got online to attempt to learn what the problem might be, and learned a faulty thermostat could be the issue. Before replacing the thermostat, I decided to replace the two AAA batteries. I was astonished that within 15-20 minutes, the temperature dropped one degree inside. I've been monitoring since, and with the hot humid days, it takes a maximum of 35 minutes of run time to reach desired temperature, a far cry from what Mike had told me. Seems One Hour is more interested in replacing the entire system than learning what the real problem might be. After battery replacement, I called One Hour back to speak with David, however, he wasn't available. I spoke with Belle, and asked her to pass along a message to David and Corey; after new batteries were installed, absolutely no problem with the cool off period, and I didn't require a call back from management. A complete waste of $89.95.
Why was Mike unable to tell me that old or weak batteries might be the problem? Good question, but no answer. I did send a review late last night to One Hour, and expressed my dissatisfaction, and said I should be refunded in full. Today, I received no call from the company. I did advise in my review that when the time comes, I shall not be calling them for a new system. One Hour installed this system in 2001. It seems Mike was more interested in selling/installing a new unit than getting to the root of the problem. I wouldn't recommend One Hour to anyone, and I shan't be using them for future issues. Truly, one of the most professional companies that I have ever had the pleasure to do business with. After installing our new air conditioner (at a great price) we needed a technician to check on the condensation overflow. A technician was sent immediately. He was very courteous to my wife, explained the problem and then fixed the problem at no charge. More service companies should follow the lead of One Hour and put the person before the paycheck. Thank you Ryan and One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning.

Pushy salesman company just out to get my money and overcharge me. First quote for a 92% efficiency furnace with all the bells and whistles he said I would need was over $12000. What a rip off, gave me so much misinformation that when I asked the other people I got quotes from all laughed at the stuff Taylor was telling me we needed for our system. Went with Cass County Heating instead but realistically anyone else was a better choice than One Hour scam pro's. Was at my house for 3.5 hours bragging about his company and trashing everyone else's. It was crazy no one else was here longer than 1.5 hours and they gave good information instead of telling me how bad so and so company was/is.
Do yourself a favor and don't pay attention to the reviews from friends and family, get many estimates and you will see how much different the salesperson you get to come over from One Hour instead of the normal people that come over from the other hvac companies that are just looking to help you get a new system. Everyone else's prices were around 6800-7800 for 96% furnaces.

On Sat 11/11/17 One Hour was contacted by my husband as our unit underneath the crawl space was making noises. My husband was advised they would be out within 2-3 hrs. The service tech did not arrive until 5-6 hrs later. After checking the unit he advised the blower motor needed to be replaced & unfortunately if he had arrived a bit sooner he would have been able to go buy the supply house & bit up the part. With that being said, he will have to pick up same on Monday after advising the home office & a service date to install same will be scheduled. This was set up for Wed 11/15/18. My husband called me & advised he received a call advising him of same & provided One Hour with my contact # so I may be available to meet the tech.
I received a call from One Hour advising the tech would be arriving between a 4 hr time span. I work for a law firm & noted I would appreciate it if at all possible if I could receive a call when tech is within 30 min of residence & I will meet. Same tech call advising he was 30 mins away. I left to meet tech, & 1 hr 28 mins later a different tech than the 1 on 11/11/17 arrived, as we were advised orig tech had the flu. 2nd tech arrived at home with no apologies for delay in arrival. He stood on front porch very antsy, shared life's hurdles he has had to overcome [i.e. being born premature & beating the odds (?)]. His cell phone rang repeatedly with a woman's lured photo on it; clearly nonwork related. Finally, advised he would be replacing blower motor. Asked where inside breaker box was located, advised him to go around the back of our home & allowed him inside the back door where same was located.
Tech then went underneath crawl space, sounded as if the underneath of our home was being hammered and torn to pieces. Tech was back/forth to van over 20x; more out than in. Came to back door, advised he would be "wiring a bypass", came back to back door, flip breaker in main breaker panel. I hollered out back door, "I smell something burning." He came out of crawl space later stating that it was the heat strip coming on. He then came to my front door and advise I would probably need an electrician at some time to inspect the wiring of the blower motor. Tech went out to van stated due to the age of our unit we should probably get a new unit. I advised we have regular/routine maintenance performed, & do not need same.
Tech went outside to van for over 2hrs. My husband came home to find tech outside of van kneeling over engage in illicit drug behavior. Tech paid no attention to my husband's presence. Was not until my husband hollered for our son coming up the drive to walk to opposite side of van, as to not see tech's behavior that tech notice my husband. It was then tech stood upright & behaved as if nothing was going on. My husband watched tech for over 2 hrs engaged in illegal behavior, talked on cell phone with female; nothing work related, yet we were charged for "labor". Tech then came back to front door of house with a written proposal for a new 5 ton unit for $13,134.00. At which he was advised, "No thank you." Husband observed tech "beating & hammering" old bracket off of blower motor mount in an attempt to make it fit onto new blower motor. Claims he forgot to pick up same from supplier. Yet we were still being charged for new.
On Thurs 11/16/18, orig tech from 11/11/17 showed up to install blower motor & advised he was told by tech of previous day, we now need a control board as this is now not working. On Wed 11/15/17, I signed INV with my name as well as "TO BE COMPLETED", the tech later filled in the "WORK DONE SECTION" found melted disconnect in crawl, etc, etc. etc. Why is it the first tech found no such thing? BECAUSE IT WAS NOT THERE!!! THAT IS WHY!!! The 2nd tech melted everything when he attempted to wire a bypass incorrectly & blew up everything, causing a fire underneath in our crawl space. The 1st tech NEVER indicated any such problems. Our unit was still running when the tech arrived on 11/11/17, it was simply making a noise, now it does not run at ALL!!!
The orig tech came back on 11/16/17, claims he placed the blower motor in, however we are now missing a control board, as well as the breaker underneath. Our home is charged in the crawl space. It has been 6 mos, since they have destroyed our unit, multiple calls, reports on the tech & each times we've called they claim they have NEVER heard of any report from us.
As of 05/10/17, a service call/repair was finally set up wherein it was approved thru their call center to have a tech come out & repair the damage done/get the unit up & running as we went ALL WINTER with NO HEAT [temps below 0, and now the temps are above 90+ degrees]. My husband receives chemo & I am undergoing biopsies for thyroid cancer & we have 3 children. We were advised a tech would be out sometime after 4:30 PM same day. On same day, Thurs 05/10/18, my husband received a voice mail call from a restricted number, & it was the owner, Chris, Jr, who advised, "After receiving multiple calls from us due to this situation, it would appear to be in everyone's best interest if they severed all ties with us, & referred us to someone else to handle our services."
MIND YOU, they have repeatedly stated they have NEVER received any reports of complaints from us, yet the owner is referring us out due to multiple calls over 6 mos. Basically, we caused problems, broke your unit, our tech was behaving in illicit behaviour on your property, we failed to perform the work contracted, almost burned down your home, were negligent in our duties, so we are going to further overburden you as our customer and renege on our services.
Also, let's not forget, they sold us the monthly insurance for future needs, which we were paying on, & due to the fact they refused to come back & fix what they broke, we refused to make any further payments on the insurance. This was also brought to their attention, which they refused to acknowledge. They stated the insurance would not cover anything that was wrong. (???) THIS COMPANY ENGAGES IN FRAUDULENT BEHAVIOUR & SOMEONE NEEDS TO BRING A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM!!!

I purchased a Amana 6000 air conditioning unit from them 4 years ago with a 10 year parts and labor guarantee with no money out of pocket. The unit failed on April 27 and I called One Hour to come and repair it. When I called them I verified I had the guarantee and they said to just show the tech our paperwork and he'll see. The tech came out and I let him know about our written guaranty and he said we'll talk about it after he diagnosed the unit. He really didn't do anything but looking at the back of it and showing me where it was dirty and said it's leaking there.
So he picked his clipboard up and asked to go into the house to talk. When we sat at the table he told me what he had to do and said "You're really not going to like me" and then quoted me a price of 700 dollars to diagnose it and another 700 to 1000 to fix it. I asked him what about my written guaranty? He said that it's not good any longer because another owner bought the franchise from the old one with no liability. I said I never received any notices about that and in the One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating guarantee doesn't say anything if the old franchise owner should sell my warranty was null and void. I asked to speak to the owner and he said he wouldn't talk to me.
I then asked him to leave my house. Before he left he had the balls to asked me for 89 dollars for a service fee. I asked him if he was serious? He said, "Yes I am." I said, "Tell them to bill me." Before I hired another company I called the office myself. I was transferred to John the office manager who was supposed to help me with my problem because the owner is a silent one. He was very rude and just said my guarantee was not honored and said I can go to anyone I want to but they won't honor it. Really helped us. So before you buy anything from One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning beware of their forked tongue. Very bad customer service. Run away!!! That's all I have to say about them.

One of the workers told me to shut up too, even though they kept going in and out of the house since Sunday, being total nuisances. They treated my Grandma well, but that’s probably because she was old and I still think they were trying to take advantage of her. I put up with my mom’s abuse for three days straight just so they could finish their job. My Grandma forced me out of the house as well... and then I come back after the abuse and they’re STILL coming in and out of the house. Absolutely ridiculous. That will be the last time they will ever show up at the house EVER AGAIN.

He told me the coil is bad and will have to order it, it should be in in a few days. Before Christmas my company, son and I were finding hard to sleep in 78 deg home. I phoned again, I was told it was on back order, it will be in 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks I was told another 3 weeks. I came home the other night to 80 deg. in the home. I asked for a deduction in my rent last month and was told I could break the lease. It cost me $1800.00 to move in. I have been working 2 jobs, I don't have the time nor the money to move. I finally received a call last week that they would be out today, Tuesday. February 20. between 8-12 PM, I stayed home from work, they never came. I phoned to find out they decided to come tomorrow. It is 81 deg. in my home with temp. going up to 85 deg. today. The humidity is 83%. I phoned back to find out what time tomorrow they would be coming, I was told that they can't come tomorrow, it will be Thursday. 3 months is too long in Florida to go without air conditioning. I have called the head office but they said there is nothing they can do considering it is an interdependent owner. I am lost on what I can do... I am at a loss. After calling someone to consult he decided two parts probably needed replaced for a total of around $700 -- and said that one of the parts wasn't in stock. Being Minnesota winter, I wasn't going to wait around an undefined period for heat to be restored. I called a second company and told them what I had been told needed replaced and they said they had the parts in stock so I had them come out. System went cold day before. Rebooted thermostat and the cool air continued to flow but a flashing snowflake was blinking every second. Johnathon the tech said it was a concern so I had him check the system and the filter needed changing. He then proceeded to find things supposedly wrong with a working system, capacitator charging me $446.00 when you can buy SAME EXACT new for less than $79.00. Then he said I had to have a hot start installed charging me 293.00 for a new part for less than $50.00. This hot start I found out is not recommended for residences but for commercial application and although manufacturer has a place for one it is not recommended or come with a new unit.
Total cost now to me for a working unit, other than a $10.00 filter came to $778.00. He was there at my home less than an hour. Tried to sell me a warranty program. I refused and found out from reviews that complaints abound about how this scam company responds to its warranty customers when problems arise. Anyway, when he left I noticed the snowflake was still blinking on the thermostat so I called Johnathon immediately and I he said - No worries some thermostats blink the snowflake when it's in the cooling cycle. Don't deserve the one star. STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY. This is a national "business" doing the old "Aluminum Siding type sales platform". Made to separate you from you money and provide as little real value as possible. I should have done a bit more research before calling them out. I had service need for HVAC - kept us waiting all day - til 9PM that night - OK it is what it is. And when they did arrive, they did do a High Dollar patch job and Freon Refill and cleaning. From there it becomes a sales gimmick for Club Membership yearly cleaning and such - may as well buy an extended warranty at that point. I even tried to get them to provide a real estimate for a new system if they were serious contractors.
I do have an older unit and it's in need of real repairs or replacement. Three re-schedules for "Manager to come look see" to prepare an estimate, and I keep getting the run around. And they call to reschedule and it's nothing but "make a decision today", "want to be last contractor in" - blah, blah, blah, all these are set ups to separate you from as much money as they can, not reliable honest service contractors. They are in the business of SALES only. They are not what I would call legit contractors. Check with NARI for home repairs and friends that know first before you call these folks.

OHH&AC's part cost represents a markup over retail of over 1500%. The part took literally 20 seconds to put in located right in the front of the furnace and only two spade connectors to disconnect. A 10-year old could fit it. I accept that labor, and expertise, is something you have to pay for, but this is what I paid the additional $99 for. Two “bad capacitors, probably a voltage surge.” If the unit was inspected thoroughly on July 21, 2016 or August 8, 2016 this should have been found. The problem was not a voltage surge. It was a loosely fitting spade clip on one of the capacitors causing arcing every time the unit started up. Burned insulation at the capacitor connection of the wire and the green tarnish which would require extended exposure to develop. From the looks of it, this capacitor is not very old, still shiny. I have various sensitive electronics in my home and nothing else was damaged. A circuit breaker would have been tripped on a surge large enough to do this type of damage. I requested a full refund from Home Warranty and received it. I requested a refund from One Hour Air conditioning in Atlantic Beach and have not received one or heard from them. Do not trust this company.

Technician came for regular tune up. My system was working fine before tune up. After completed tune up technician saying electrodes is not firing. So need to replace. I asked to technician to replace electrodes. He saying company doesn’t have part. Parts will come next working day. I have to reschedule with customer service. Company will charge another $50 for return trip + parts and another labor charge. We were without hot and heat for two days. It is ridiculous. Very bad experience.

I had a few other quotes and these people were the only ones that right away, saw the issues and knew what to do whereas with the others, I had to point things out. Also, One Hour looked at the recommended equipment and said that the best practice is to match the manufacturer of the heater and the tonnage. The others were pushing Lennox and I guess as they wanted to keep the price down, the recommended lower tonnage than my heater. One Hour put in the right manufacturer and size! Nice guys too. They offered all sorts of financing options. Took their time with me.

If I could give this company a negative five (-5) I would. Mick, the owner, is a no good street-thug who should be put out of business for his unconscionable and unlawful business practices. These guys have a street-gang mentality, and they will try and physically harm you if you have a disagreement with them over money and the work they do. Point being, their employees are barely qualified to do the work they are doing and they don't pay for any damages they do to your home, like any legitimate and professional company would.
And, these guys will try to physically harm you. If you refuse to pay them, on account damages were done by this company to your home, Mick will send out low-level enforcers to your home to who will try and physically rough you up to get full payment from you. One Hour Heat and Air employee Mr. Lonnie ** is one of Mick's low-level enforcers. While Mr. ** is quite inadequate in a physical confrontation, by any 'real-man' measure, Mr. ** will, regardless, attack you, as he is a total nut job. Mr. ** is not a 'smart guy' so keep that in mind, as he is unaware that what he does is illegal. By sending out Mr. ** to your door the owner Mick is essentially attempting to create, upon payment, a tacit waiver of any damage claim by the home owner. Mr. ** is a thug who comes to your home, refuses to leave when ordered to exit your property, and then physically attacks you in your home if you refuse to pay him.
Beware! These guys will come to your home usually on a Friday (Pay Day) and try and force you to pay them money at your door if you have any dispute with them over the work they've done and payment. They will never voluntarily pay for the damages they do to your home. They will call you and shout, threaten, and lie to you to try and intimidate you into paying them as well. Also, they have this burglary thing down to a pretty decent science, so make sure you have cameras rolling on these guys at all times because they will physically attack you and then claim you attacked them. And, Mr. **, after he attacks a home owner, presses criminal charges against the home owner for assault. These guys are low-life, dirt bags that should be avoided entirely.

I have some refrigeration experience and since my home A/C was cycling I was pretty sure it was low on Freon. I have the gauges but not the Freon used in this system. So my fiance called One Hour Heating & Air because she had good experiences with them in Daytona. When the technician arrived he quoted me $1350.00 to clean the system before he could diagnose the problem. I in no uncertain terms and without profanity told him to leave my house. I will not recommend anyone use the Mayport Fl One Hour Heating & Air.

Long story short, we purchased a Goodman 2 1/2 ton central unit with heat pump back in 2006. We later, much later, learned it was a known defective designed unit, from One Hour Heat and Air in Nashville. We had constant issues with the unit over the next 9 years. Then back in December of 2016 we spent $750 with One Hour Heat and Air and they assured us all was fixed. The next month, (Jan) we received the worst electric bill of our 21 years in our home. Our electric bill was double our highest electric bill ever. Our unit had ran all month on emergency heat mode without us knowing it. One hour Heat and Air would not return our calls and they refused to help us with our horrendous electric bill. They will take your money and lead you along, but if they make a mistake it's all on you. Buyer Beware!

This company didn't fix my heat. The technician told me to buy some space heaters. After getting a second opinion, my heat was fixed. This company has pressure sales and tactics. They sold me a maintenance package that I was told I could cancel at ANYTIME! Now they want a lot of money... but I won't give them anything.

I purchased a complete heating/air system from One Hour five years ago. The system is junk. Within five years most every part needs to be replaced. Not only do the service people who come to house not know what they're doing, but the parent company, One Hour, refuses to let the original contractor service our equipment. This is crazy. We purchased a $10k system from one contractor... The parent company decided we MUST use a different contractor for service, located 45 minutes away. Now we have no recourse. And the repairs that One Hour makes, like fixing a freon leak, need to be done repeatedly, like every three months. This company is NOT good. Stay away.

Service was requested and done, but air filters were never delivered. After 3 calls I requested a refund and was told my warranty would be canceled because I purchased them someplace else and I was charged a restocking fee for items I never received.
