We have been hiring movers to move our staff around the country for many years and this company has been our regular moving company for the past several years. This time, we used them for the first time for our own home move. Our employees have always praised this company to the skies and we know why. The organizing team makes for a very smooth operation and they have the right manpower to do a flawless job on the ground. There is no doubt we will continue our professional partnership with them but we now know personally how good they are as well.

Some of the people who work at this company should get a pay raise, no matter what their salary is currently. One such person is their sales manager who handled and oversaw my move. She made the effort to understand my situation, present all the best and most relevant packages to me, and took a great deal of time to explain all the factors that affect cost, etc. Another 2 are their phone support operators. I called several times before the move and during transit and they patiently explained things to me. I rate them 5 stars.

Our experience with United Regions Van Lines was rocky at best all the way to downright terrible. I will walk you through our process start to finish to give a taste of what to expect. We start off with making the call to get a quote. I like to see the best in people, so I thought the gentlemen on the other end seemed nice enough. His name was Philip. We went room by room and took inventory of our belongings we intended to move. Quickly I noticed that he seemed to be rushed. I gave him benefit of the doubt as I figure they are probably under a lot of stress being expected to meet a quota of calls made, customers helped, or accounts for service set up.
I was told our estimated price of about $7k, a 3-day window for pick up, and his word that we would hear back a week in advance to further dial in on what we would be having them move. You know if that had changed or while packing, we noticed some items got missed. Seems like a good standard practice. The roughly 1/3 of the original estimate paid up front was a bit much to swallow, but I was at a point that I needed a mover. I ended up with some questions, so I attempted to call back Philip earlier on. Philip is nowhere to be found. Multiple days pass trying to get ahold of a ghost. I then get passed off to a lady. I think it was Lisa who also seemed friendly, but it was the same game of phone tag to get ahold of her. Finally, I do get a call back from her. She assured me we would still expect them, and our moving date would be the following Monday. Remember she said Monday. She also has me run through my items again.
Keep in mind both times I counted all current boxes, sizing of those boxes using standard U-Haul boxes as my gauge. We had some standard moving boxes and some older boxes that were unconventional, but similar in size. I also went over rough dimensions with a tape measure on all large furniture items. You know length, width, depth. In this call I get new info that although the movers will be blanketing and wrapping all non-boxed furniture items anything with glass on it like small cabinets with glass doors needed to be handled by us. During our run through of items I noticed that Philip had missed a few notable items that would drop our quote like a missing washing machine and dryer. I also had decided to just go all in and overestimated my boxes to create a financial buffer on my end. I bumped their 60 boxes to 100. This as expected changes the quote and she wanted more money. Our grand total was now about $8.5k.
A week in advance comes up and I don’t hear from them, so I do reach back out. Somehow, I get ahold of Lisa, and she tells me all is set for a pickup date of that following Wednesday. Not sure why it took me making a call to them to find out that my pickup date had changed, but I honestly was happy to have two extra days to finish packing and finalizing things on my end. Again, though communication just seems to be a struggle for this company. I at this point am very leery, but everything is set and supposedly under control, so I try to just work on everything else that needs done for our cross country move. Day of pick up the truck pulls up right in the expected window. A seemingly friendly Samir hops out and I greet him at the door. I notice right away though that he is the only one there. His demeaner changes. He immediately starts walking through our home with a judgmental look on his face.
After making himself at home sprawling out at my office desk he comes back to say our estimate was all wrong. Supposedly our quote for just over 1200 cubic feet on our 3 bed, 2 bath home wasn’t enough. He estimated about 1800 cubic feet. Remember that I had gone over every item meticulously with Lisa, measured items as I went with both Philip and Lisa, and overestimated boxes by almost 50%. Did I have more than 60 boxes? Yea, but I didn’t break that 100 box mark. Samir walks to the basement, comes back up and says that our washer and dryer are deemed fragile, and it would be $120 a piece to pack them a way that only he can pack them. So, you know another $240 charge for something that was never once brought up by Philip or Lisa. Communication here is terrible and it is a running theme. I look to my wife as he shows us our new estimate.
We are now only days from being out of our rental and on the road to a new state to close on our first home. Time is sort of a factor. The new estimate made me want to be sick. Almost $14k was the total he gave us. Why it jumped by almost double for 1/3 of space based on their bad estimate is beyond me. If you want to estimate over the phone, then that should be on them. Sadly, that isn’t the world we live in. We bite the bullet and roll with it. Never again is what we said. I would have rather burnt my belongings in a backyard bonfire and bought all brand new in our new state. However, we didn’t have that kind of time at this point. We let Samir get to work.
Samir is good at the moving aspect I must admit. He can lift large items without too much stress and get it onto a truck in a seemingly effortless way. Problem here is that we just got an estimate of $14k for a truck and one guy. Turns out Samir dropped the ball and didn’t get movers to help him. We are still on a time crunch and planned to clean that night, the next day, and leave town the following day. Samir being the only guy took some time. That is to be expected. Again, though he should never have been the only guy.
Midday Samir ordered Domino's for pickup. You know the guy with nothing but a moving truck. Not delivery. Oh no. He instead came to us and asked to borrow our car. I think he sensed some hesitation. So, he quickly corrected that to if we could pick it up for him. My wife was already out and about so she insisted she could pick it up, but something about this just didn’t seem right. He just seemed to make himself at home in our home with our belongings. Just a level of professionalism seemed to be lacking. From the attitude he showed up with, the harshness regarding his company’s incompetency when making estimates, and now this. Midday I noticed a hole in the wall by our stairs. I let it go, because I don’t want confrontation while he is still in our home and handling our belongings.
Towards the end he manages to also gouge out a part of a doorway with a box spring. I figure that it's an older house. The doorway is not a huge issue and can be fixed up with a stain marker. However, I do bring up the hole in the wall. What does Samir say? “Oh, no that wasn’t me. That was already there. That is why I didn’t mention it sooner.” At this point I just want him to leave. I work in management, and I know when someone is lying through their teeth. He makes up some sort of ** “discount on packaging material”. I honestly don’t know if that actually took place, but what packaging material? The extra $240 you charged me for a washer and dryer you were told would be there. On his way out I had to catch him to point out screws he left behind. Turns out they were for our kitchen table. He just wrapped them in some tape and assured us that they would get where they needed to go. This is important later.
Samir ends up leaving around 9:30 that night. We are now out half a day in cleaning, and I have to get to a store to buy the material to patch a hole in the wall. Also, at this point I have been told by Lisa and Samir that I can expect my delivery date to be August 17th and that I should make sure I am home that day. Fast forward a week, 1073 miles cross country, living in our new, but empty home for 2 days. I get a bad feeling. So, I call the company to confirm that on that day August 17th, that they were indeed still dropping off our belongings. The new lady on the phone tells me that no. Per our contract the 17th is only the first date of availability for drop off and that the likely date would be 17 days out from then, but by contract should be to us within 30 days.
I will admit maybe I missed that part. That’s on me, but the fact that it wasn’t clarified by 2 of your employees when I was told, and assured August 17th is again horrible communication. Today is the 27th. The truck did show up with our stuff. I am still assessing what items made it and if anything is missing. I can say that they broke a full-size bookcase in half, snapped a leg of our quilt rack, and seemingly left with one of our tv stands still on their truck. I asked my wife how it went, and she said Alex the driver who works directly for the company was rude.
He made comments about our couches smelling like dog (yeah we have two dogs), asking why I am not home seemingly insinuating that my wife is not capable of handling herself when I am at work, asked her why she doesn’t have children as if it was his business, avoided all work of unloading the truck or putting furniture back together, rode our bikes in our front yard like a child, and told the other movers to not bother picking up any packing material, because it is not their job. So, he wanted to just leave their tape, and plastic wrap thrown all over our yard just like Samir did with all his tape rolls all over our house before. Also, when asked about the screws to the kitchen table he laughed and said if they aren’t taped to the table then there is nothing he could do. Not sure why it is funny that we may have yet another item mishandled by your company but let’s keep the unprofessionalism rolling.
To give credit where it is due the team of movers who did all the actual work today were from our new town. My wife said they were all very respectful, worked hard, and did well. One of them even cleaned all the packing material that Alex wanted to leave behind and put it all in one spot. The gentlemen made the comment to my wife that Alex told him to leave it, but that he felt it was very unprofessional and couldn’t do it.
Long story short I feel United Regions Van Lines intentionally underquoted me to get my business, then continued to lowball me only to extort more money from my wife and I due to our time constraints. Their salespeople are either malicious or incompetent. Their drivers are unprofessional, overpaid, disrespectful, unable to take responsibility for themselves, and in some cases lazy. This experience has told me that from now on I will just sell most my belongings and move myself for any trips further than an hour away. I could have easily just rebought everything I own and moved the essentials/sentimental items on a small U-Haul and still saved money on this move. Please don’t use their company. They say avoid brokers, but this company showed me that even the actual companies play the same dirty tricks and it’s the reason that the whole industry is seen as a big scam.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY-RUN! I need so many more words to accurately give a review. They ended up charging us almost double the quote for a move from CA to IA, totaling over 20K. At pickup, the workers packed multiple paintings into a box w/o protection, scratching almost every painting or photo they packed. They dropped tables and lamps w/no padding or protection into large boxes to move so they could charge us for the materials and take up more space as they charge by volume not weight and severely damaged many items because no protection.
Upon delivery in IA they showed up w/1 person to unload the entire move with no shuttle even though they were informed a shuttle was needed. 4 hours later, they started the delivery after hiring 2 more guys off Craigslist who threatened to leave several times in the middle of the move because they were told it was a 3-hr job and zero boxes. What kind of home move has no boxes? Many boxes and large items were broken, some of them missing. They did not deliver the boxes to the correct room or even the correct building. Some items should have gone to the house got put in the shed, 30 yds away. They did not re-assemble any of items, lots were left in random spots in the house w/ the moving blankets still on & taped up.
The inventory list, while checking it off during the move, had none of the numbers on the box actually matching up w/ what was on the listing. The driver dispatcher, Randy, was condescending, unprofessional and kept asking to speak to my husband & Randy didn't want to talk to me, a woman, even though I am the one who signed the contract. I have been attempting to work with the company since 7/19/22 to resolve the horrific move however they have no interest in rectifying their mistakes. They finally today offered a very low ball figure of $600 but only if I agree to not file any complaints, agree to not post bad reviews or file any claims. I have spent hours upon hours, over 50 emails & phone calls to no avail. RUN!

I sat back and watched while the moving team cleared out my 4 bedroom house in less than half a day. They were quick but careful, too. I could tell from the quality of the packing boxes and packing peanuts that they used that this is not a shifty operation. Instead, they are a good, reliable company that actually tries to excel at the job they do. The movers were very professional in their identical uniforms with their names, not like some companies where it's just guys in t-shirts and jeans. It was a finely executed move and I'm happy to recommend this company.

We moved to Atlanta, GA from Harrisburg, PA and hired this company for the 4-bedroom job because we were willing to pay more for quality. In the past, we have hired movers who seemed to be great value for money on the surface but proved to be terrible when it came to actually doing the job they were hired for. This company, though, has been consistently reliable, quick and careful. We feel we could entrust them with anything, big or small, cheap or expensive, fragile or sturdy, and it would still be cared for and delivered safely and punctually.

I saw an ad for these guys ages ago when I had already hired a different moving company but the name stuck in my head. Because that other company did not do a good job, I hired them this time. There is such a stark contrast! The other movers were so testy and unpleasant - I was walking on eggshells around them even though I was the one who hired them, not the other way around. With these people, everything was so pleasant and friendly. Their moving work was impeccable, too. This is how all companies should operate, because it will keep customers like me coming back.

Because this was my first move across the US, I was pretty apprehensive about how it would all go. Fortunately, I had the excellent team with this company to make sure that all my concerns were put to rest. They planned the move of my 3 bedroom home with complete professionalism, and showed me exactly how it would all happen and in what stages before moving day. That transparent approach made it a lot easier for first-timers like us to understand and allay our fears. The movers did their job exactly as we were told they would. Definitely worth hiring again.

My words can only partially express the real magnitude of the gratitude that I feel for the people at this company. When I hired them, I had already heard that they were reliable but that does not even begin to cover how efficient and caring they actually are. Our move was taken care of from A to Z by them and they ensured that we did not have any problems at any stage of the move. We did call them up several times to get additional information and whoever was on the line eagerly helped us out. I would hire them again.

Our experience with this company was a pleasure. From the first time that we contacted them to get a quote to the final day of delivery, they were courteous with us, helpful to the max, aware of all the things we were concerned about, and able to handle any issues that we happened to raise. It was a surprise, really, that they are as affordable as they are. From what I can tell, they do not cut corners anywhere so it must be coming out of their own pocket. That’s simply an amazing dedication to customer service on their part.

We are very happy with the way this crew did our move from New Orleans, LA to Baltimore, MD. It was almost stress-free since the movers were so efficient. The whole process was made very easy by how knowledgeable they were about packing large and fragile items such as flat screen TVs and other electronics. It was especially difficult for them because our 4 bedroom house had a lot of stuff in it. Every last piece was delivered to us free of any damage or scratches, etc. They put in a lot of hard work and I will definitely recommend them to everyone I know.

It seems to me that this company has the best people in the entire moving industry working for them, and they are the best movers that I could find. I hired them for my move from Norfolk, VA to Vero Beach, FL and they did such a good job that I broke my usual habit of not writing reviews. My thanks to all the people who were involved in our move and responsible in their own little or large way in making it such a success. We would not have had such an easy time of it if you did not go out of your way to help.

I made a huge mistake trying to get another company to handle my home moves last time and returned to this one for this move. They just excels wherever all its competitors flounder and the difference was so obvious this time since my last two moves were within a few months of each other. Perhaps the most obvious one was the attitude of the workers – this company uses pros while many of the others use part timers who just don’t have the patience or the skills. I have learned my lesson the hard way and will stick with them from now. 5 stars.

My tight schedule made me choose this crew because they are not the cheapest movers out there but they will follow your instructions down to the letter and to the second. I wanted my movers to come in at the end of the workday and clear out my 3 bedroom house by midnight so I could hand over the premises to the landlord without incurring a penalty. They sent over a 5 person crew that was able to finish the job with an hour left to spare. So, if you are willing to spend the cash, this company is the problem solver you need.

This company is very affordable when you consider the quality of the team you get for your money. I have hired more expensive movers and used part timers who were dirt cheap as well. There is always a compromise you have to make and I believe they handle it the best. They give it to me simply by ensuring that they are reliable with their timing, only employ capable staff (for both moving team and office). 5 stars, easy. Great and clean job, happy with my move.

Do. Not. Use. From the beginning, they will make it seem too good to be true. "United quoted you how much? We can do at least half of that for the same service..." You're thinking "Oh, terrific!" Then, "Also, we're not a broker and we use our own trucks and our own people..." Well, that sounds great. However... their sales team will pull the wool over your eyes and make themselves out to be the greatest company on Earth. What they don't tell you is that their estimates are false, and you'll end up paying more for them to load your things on their truck(s). This is why they bring two 26' rental trucks with them (Penske trucks with their logo taped to the doors) ... they'll quote you in weight, but then before moving day they will *hopefully* call you but tell you that they operate on cubic feet.
This means that if your things go over the space on one truck (based on say, 12000 pounds = 1800Cu/ft.)... they stop working. Completely. Until you wonder "where are those guys?" and you go down to find them sitting on the back of their truck with half of your stuff still not packed. Their motto is "well, pay us more, or leave it behind." We ended up paying them about 6k more than what they quoted us IN WEIGHT because they filled up their first truck to what they believed to be the equivalent in cubic feet and we didn't want ALL of our furniture to be left behind. Plus we still ended up having to leave two desks behind because they were going to charge us another $1000 because it would have gone over their cu/ft estimate.
So then... here's the best part... you tell them the first available date of delivery. Well, they give themselves two outs - one is that they can hold your stuff in storage SOMEWHERE for UP TO 30 DAYS, and THEN tell you that they give themselves UP TO 17 Business days - that's three weeks to you and me - to deliver. So needless to say, for over a month, my wife, daughter, and I were sleeping on the floor and eating from paper plates in our new house, waiting for the truck to arrive. We got no return calls to my numerous messages and the salesperson who was so nice at the beginning never returned any calls or texts. If you call their "customer service" line (ext **) they screen their calls, and won't pick up, or will hang up on you.
They also have shady payment plans - you have to make your first payment with Zelle - I think only Nigerian princes and United Regions VL do that these days - then on loading day you have to pay them another time (but don't forget that if you want ALL of your belongings, you'll end up paying more), and then on delivery day you have to come up with the rest in cash or POSTAL Money Orders. Keep in mind that postal money orders are only up to 1000 each, and most banks don't allow you to debit out more than 3000 a day. If you owe more... forget it. You're spending more days at the post office. The best bet is to get it quick because neither the driver nor the company will give you more than 12 hours' notice that they are showing up to deliver.
I airtagged a bunch of my boxes - thank GOD - or we would never have known that they were going to show up when they did. We saw the airtags move, which is how we assumed they were going to deliver, however it took two additional days for anyone to call us to let us know that they were going to deliver the following morning at 8AM. If we would not have seen our airtags move, we wouldn't have known. Then came the delivery day. We got a call from the driver saying that they would be at our home at 9:30am. We then see a bunch of cars driving slowly past our house and parking across the street. Guys get out and walk around our house. I go and ask if I can help them, and they say they are here to move our things. I ask if they are with United Regions Van Lines. They say no - they were hired by the DRIVER through CRAIGSLIST. So the people who moved our things into our house were random people from Craigslist.
I have never heard of this practice before! And not to say that they weren't hard workers, but one seemed drunk, one looked high, and the other two looked as if they were on parole. I had to make sure my wife and I were in the house while the move was happening. Still, things ended up broken, things are missing, and we are now trying to file a claim with United Regions Van Lines. All in all - choose someone else. Do not use United Regions Van Lines.

I only decided to write this review because this great company did such a wonderful job that it would be completely unfair for me not to give them credit where credit is due. The first thing that impressed me was their ability to stick to the schedule they had given me despite the bad weather. Our things arrived at my new house in Portland, OR 2 days before they were due so that was impressive. They should also be praised for the courtesy and good behavior of their movers. Last but not least, they did a good job of balancing cost with service.

I truly regret hiring this company for my long distance move. This is a very dishonest company. They gave false assurance upfront to attract customers. They gave a lower quote and claimed that the final price won't change because "I'm pretty good at quoting". They won't tell you upfront that there is a 17-day delivery window and repeatedly claim that they were "pretty sure" they can deliver on my chosen date. After the contract was signed, everything was changed and they started to break their promises. They never called as they promised and I had to repeatedly call them.
The final price was >$2000 higher than quoted. The worst part was that they breached the contract by failing to pick up within the 3-day window, which caused significant trouble for us. The even worse part was that they tried to blame the customers for their failure. The supervisor was rude and told lies. The crew were NEVER on time. Floor was scratched and things were broken. I blame myself for choose this company but will never again and certainly won't recommend to anyone else.

Worst move ever. United Regions Van Lines estimates by volume. They do it from a very general list of your furniture and a number range of boxes. They never once asked to see our furniture and boxes. They gave us a low estimate that was to include 60-90 boxes. They claimed anything in that range takes up the same amount of space because boxes are stackable so that's why the cost remains constant. Beware of this scam. They are basing the estimate on lowest number of boxes in the range. They give you a bunch of lies, and on loading day the cost goes way up because you have more than 60 boxes!
If you asked for packing services, they'll give you a very low cost to hook you in. They'll string you along verbally saying they will clarify the estimate to state they will do the packing. QA is also in on the scam. After saying the service is not provided in the estimate, they then say they will clarify it, again using deceptive jargon to get you to sign. On moving day, guess who does the packing, you! The foreman told us the service we asked for was not in the estimate. All we paid for were the packing materials not for the actual packing of our materials.
Of course after loading, your cost goes way up because the furniture is bigger and bulkier than anticipated and therefore it's either unstackable or needs further crating to protect it. This increase in volume, labor and packaging used just increased your estimate almost 1.5x. Scam. Also don't ever think of asking them to slip in a few small narrow foldable items because that allows them to rescind the original binding estimate and write up a new one. Now your cost is more than 1.5x the original estimate. They are impossible to reach once they get your money and again string you along with an acceptable moving date that always gets pushed back until you wait the entire 30 days they have, by law, to deliver your stuff. They will tell you what you want to hear early on, and later, try to put you off as much as possible. They'll even set up a phone date and time to discuss complaints, but never call you back because they were too busy (not even a courtesy call to change the date).
They do not accept credit cards. 3 payments required can only be cash, ACH or USPS money orders. On moving day they arrived 4 hours late and notification for delivery date came less than 24 hours in advance. Remember all the extra protection and spacing they charge you for, well, the furniture was still damaged: gouged, scraped, stained and broken. The movers delivering it were upset too, explaining the furniture was preloaded without protective pads or shrink wrap. They never used shrink wrap on loading day, just pads. The pads are taken off at the warehouse to use for another job! Also, the trucks that came were not United Regions Van Lines (no logos on trucks and DOT and MC #s were those of two other moving companies).
United Regions Van Lines has no conscience. Please go with a reputable, well known company. United Regions will cost the same after they use their low ball and bait and switch, good cop bad cop tactics to hook you and keep you hooked. Any professionalism is lost after they get your deposit. Be prepared for the financial and emotional toll United Regions will take from you. Beware, their alias is United Nations Van Lines, another very disreputable moving company. Once you've moved there is no recourse. They know how to play the game well. Writing negative reviews is all you can do.
There is so much more to say, but I don't have all day. It's unfortunate Consumer Affairs takes money from United Regions and allows them such a large advertising presence. What is the point of this website if it allows scammers to run ads. Unfortunately, this is where I heard about United Regions. (By the way, United Regions is no longer accredited by BBB, their A+ rating means nothing. Lots of truthful negative reviews coming in.)

We had another very good move with this best crew, with them making the whole process smooth, quick and pain free. Our old house was atop a hill which made the loading part of things quite complicated. The driver parked in just the right way for the huge truck to fit and for all the things to be loaded easily. The workers were very careful to ensure that whenever they were lifting or loading fragile items, there was no risk of damage to anything. The move went very smoothly and our transition to our new home could not have been better handled. It is all thanks to their diligence and professionalism. I have no problems recommending this excellent moving company.

They are terrible and they haven’t even moved me yet. Do not use this company. FYI this move is costing me $15,000. They give you window dates, I was told that they needed one day to pack and pick up the next day. I was fine with that as long as the house was empty by the 18th of Aug as I had my walk-thru that day and closing on the morning of the 19th. I made all of this very clear. So when the packers had not yet called (16th) I called and was told “we were just getting ready to call you.” Your move is scheduled for the 18th between 9-12noon. Now you tell me, can you pack and move a 1300 sq. ft. house in 1/2 day, clean and be ready for a walk thru by 5:00pm. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Go with Colonial like I should have. Matthew was just so nice and seemed to understand the urgency of my schedule. Well apparently not. Very dissatisfied customer.

I bring this to your attention because that is how I chose them to be my movers. With a solid reputation like that, it is hard to go wrong. All the great things that their other customers have attested to are entirely accurate, and I am very happy that I found this company. I am happy to add my review here so others can benefit from my experience.

My short message is this: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE. I CANNOT EXPLAIN THE HORRIBLE SERVICE I RECEIVED. I moved 7 weeks ago and was hoping that unpacking and settling in would help me forget this experience but the more my family and I unpack, the more we realize how much more we lost, and others broken. Even with narrating the experience to them, they were more interested in asking me to submit claims like that would solve the problem. And on top of that, I was thrown around multiple times, with multiple phone calls just to obtain my bill of lading and final receipt of payment (NB: we didn't receive this on delivery day because the lazy men they sent to deliver got overwhelmed because they didn't have all our items and couldn’t set up the furniture.)
They lost items, broke our gym items, did not reassemble items they disassembled (even though it was in our contract) and they communication was terrible, rude and full of lies (including a staff ‘D’ claiming to be the supervisor when I obviously knew she wasn’t and I gladly reported her). I can go on and on but paying $14,000+ to receive HORRIBLE service isn’t something you let slide especially when no apology was ever rendered and they assumed claims (which is on its own an insane process) is a resolution. My advice, save yourself the stress, and choose another company
Longer detailed version if you want more: I am a physician who works overnight in ER and was on a series of nights prior to our more. I booked this service 10 days prior to our move as were stuck on home search, My 1st statement to Phillip (the guy who booked my move) was, I had a bad experience before and I really don’t want my family to do that again. He spent 30mins telling my they had many vans and this would not be the case. Highly disappointed to have believed it. The one thing that went almost seamlessly was pick up (June 10th). 3 of the 4 guys who came was on top of it and wrapped things up. However, we realized at delivery that the beds they dismantled were not bound together. Parts were in separate places, and probably the reason why we lost almost all parts of 2 out of 4 beds
I chose a delivery date 1 week beyond pick up because our new home in TX was yet to close. I was informed I would be called prior to loading to deliver just to be sure. I was called the morning of and was told the truck was on their way to my place and would arrive. Someone called ‘D’ (probably the most impolite person I ever communicated with on their team) goes off on me when I mentioned we didn’t close yet and if we could reschedule. She continues yelling on why we (customers) always mess things up. Shocked to say the least, I accepted all accusations as to not knowing I was supposed to call to reschedule once it was picked up. I agree to pay a redelivery fee ($1,755). She flips and calms down and becomes nice all of a sudden because I agreed to pay. Assures me that this will guarantee our items are stored safely and well. I subsequently had to call back and pay a storage fee ($435) because our new home closure delayed.
Finally, we close and schedule a delivery. To our utter shock, 2 ‘lazy’ guys arrive our home on a U-Haul truck (MAJOR RED FLAG). I was told they had trucks and now we get a U-haul much smaller than the one that picked up our items. Their first statement to my husband was to pay our balance and they will offload what they have and go back and get more. That they couldn't get everything to fit in the U-haul. Of course, we refused, we paid half and agreed to pay the rest the 2nd delivery truck arrives. Within 10 mins of offloading, we realized that half of the things they brought out didn’t belong to us. INSANE. It wasn’t even until they were done with the 1st truck that we realized only ½ of our items or less had been delivered (including broken bookshelves and lamps).
We were legitimately aggravated. At some point, they left, assuring us they had the rest still in storage and will go pick them up. On the 2nd delivery, we made the biggest mistake by paying the balance. We assumed everything else would be in and they would assemble the furniture once offloading was complete. To summarize, the 2 inexperienced men delivered less than 3/4ths of our property (lost 2 beds out of our 4), some were broken; they assembled only 2 beds or 4 and gym etc were left unpacked (even though it was in the contract). One of them had the audacity to come and ask me to sign a completed delivery in the midst of all this. It was a complete NO. As my husband and I were outside, these men left my home and claimed we threatened them. Claimed we were asking them for items they didn’t know about. I was speechless.
My attempt to reach everyone at the company was futile and was only called by Lisa (quality assurance) the next day (she was the only one who ever attempted to reason with us). She may have realized we were upset, received terrible service and that there were lies. We had proof of images of things still wrapped in moving blankets. I can go on and on but paying $14,000+ to receive subpar, unprofessional service isn’t something you let slide especially when no apology was ever rendered and they assumed claims (which is on its own an insane process) is a resolution. My advice, save yourself the stress, and choose another company.

In the 4 times that I have hired this company to do home moves, they have been absolutely flawless in every instance. So much of that excellence is due to having a very proficient and proactive management team. They are always on the ball and willing to speak directly with customers who have any problems. It is very reassuring to see that the most senior people in the company are willing to get out of the office and address issues like that. I can say that I know that these guys will always do the right thing and, so, I give them a strong recommendation.

For someone like me who knows head nor tail about moving, a company like this one is a godsend! When I contacted them and told them it was my first move, they gave me a dedicated manager who answered all my questions and handled all my queries from day 1 to when all my things were delivered (I was moving from South Carolina to Texas). That made it extremely easy for me to focus on just getting the dates and times right myself because they handled everything else all on their own. I definitely recommend them to anyone who would like a reliable moving company.

I was not really sure if I wanted to hire professional movers but decided to because this company was offering us such good rates. We set a time for them to do the pickup early in the morning and the movers arrived before that. They started working on the dot and got the job sorted within the timeframe they’d given us. Their packing skills are really good because not a single thing was delivered in anything but perfect condition. The value for money equation with these guys is just excellent. I will gladly hire them again and even recommend their services.

Items were not wrapped completely. Items arrived falling out of the truck when opened, missing items, and everything was damaged. When we complained to the driver he said it wasn't his fault because he didn't load the truck. It was the packers. No one ever took responsibility for any of the damage. Then they said to prove everything and even that you owned the items. They make it way too expensive to fully insure. If I could give it less than one star I would. If you care anything about your items stay far away from this company. We relied on the review of ConsumerAffairs to help pick this company. I fully regret this choice. I do not have much left that I can hold on to.

Compared to all the sob stories we have heard from so many of our friends and family who have hired movers, our move was as smooth and worry-free as can be. The truck arrived on time and the 3 man moving crew was very friendly and hardworking. They took a lot of care to not damage what they loaded. It was all delivered to us in Colorado on time and we could not be happier with their performance.

We have personally hired them 3 times with excellent results but you can read the long line of reviews from other customers as well. It takes a special kind of company to maintain that kind of record over many years. Don’t be content with just my words – read the others as well and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

There isn't a moving company worthy of a good review, as most will say anything they think you want to hear to get you to sign a contract. This unprofessional organization is no different. Using ZOOM, the sales associate walks through your home to give you an 'accurate' assessment of your belongings and then provides an 'estimated' quote to hook you. In our case just under $10,000 for a long distance move (12 HOURS AWAY). 'A week before pickup' another person called to ask how many boxes we actually had, our quote went from under 10K to over 11K. The day of 'pickup' the driver/mover arrived with a truck and said that both quotes weren't accurate and that the move would be OVER $15K.
We arrive at our new location only to find out that the contents of our home would be sitting in a warehouse until a truck became available AND there were other families to fill the truck if our contents didn't, and as long as those families were going to a similar location. 4 WEEKS LATER our belongings were finally delivered. Most of the boxes were crushed because the hired movers didn't care how much or little a box weighed and simply stacked them without being mindful about weight or what it would do to the box below it. They only used 2 men for pickup and delivery, even when there were extremely heavy and fragile items, putting the load at risk of damage the entire time.
What made the experience so infuriating is that every time I called for an update or asked to speak to someone, NOT ONCE in a month did any one return a call, because it appears that they just don't care what kind of review they get, they just want their money!!!! As it turns out so far I am missing one box with a likely value of $1500. I've called and emailed customer service to see if someone can try to track it, she did nothing except send me a 'claims' link. I've asked to speak to numerous persons in a supervisor position to see if they could make an effort to find my missing box and continue to be told that they will call me back...it's been weeks...crickets.
The payment process was a nightmare as well. Cash or POSTAL Money Order. Nothing from a bank was good enough for them. I've been around for many decades and dealt with a lot of businesses over the years. No business in the continental US has pissed me off more than United Regions Van Lines. Save yourself a ton of grief. DON'T CALL THEM!! If I could give them a review with negative star, I most certainly would.

I shopped around and based on Consumer Affairs recommendation chose United Regional Vans as one of the companies to get a quote from. They were not the cheapest but I liked their process as explained to me. I spent at least a half hour doing a Facetime walk-thru with the salesperson and got the quote later that day. I selected them and signed a contract more than a month in advance and was given 3 day windows for pickup and delivery. I had been told someone would come out and do a walk thru at least a week ahead of time to give me a final quote. That never happened. I emailed the sales person I had worked with and got no response. Learned he was no longer with the company.
On the Wednesday before my Monday - Wednesday window I got a call telling me the pickup would be Tuesday and the QA person would call me on Friday to do a walk-through. This involved going room to room and going over the inventory and there were lots of changes. When I got the revised quote it was 50% higher than the original one. This is less than a week before I had to be out of the place I was moving from so I was stuck. The packers and delivery driver were more than an hour late for the 3 hour window I was given for pickup. By the time they were done the price had increased yet again. The guys were nice and hard workers but not always careful with my stuff. The delivery was in Tucson and it was really hot and there was just the driver and one person to unload.
One small table was broken and a large picture frame (which had not been put in a picture box or even wrapped) and a piece of furniture was chipped. There were several other small thing like tears to dog bed when they cut the tape around the dog crate which had the bed inside. Toward the end, boxes were put just anywhere. Bedroom stuff in the garage, garage stuff in the bedroom, heavy stuff put on top of other boxes. I think the guys were so hot they just wanted to be done but it made it challenging for me to find what I needed. I would not recommend them.

When contacting the company for information not only could they not provide details on where our stuff was they couldn't even get a hold of their own driver. Trying to reach them after you’ve signed with them is impossible and they use that to play dumb when it comes to asking for more money. You can’t ask to speak to a supervisor because apparently that person does not deal with customers, they deliver things that are not yours, they don’t respond if they break something that is yours. Please do not be taken in by the Sales Estimator. He viewed my entire home on video, piece by piece and the day of pickup the estimated doubled ($8k to $15k). That's just the beginning to a very bad situation. I was told the week prior to the pickup that Lisa would call to review the items, that did not happen. The Driver would call 1 hour before arriving to pick up the load. He called 5 minutes away and did not speak English. The estimate doubled in addition to a very small truck was used to move a complete household. My Mattress ended up being strapped on the back of the truck as there was no room as well as items were not able to be taken due to the truck being too small. Wondering what my positions will look like after seeing that happen. Will the Mattress be the same as when it left my house?
They have a new phone system for the last 3-4 weeks that you are not able to reach a live person, even the crew that picked up the load couldn't reach their office. Pickup was June 25th and on July 6th, no call backs from Supervisors even when they promise to call you back. No one can tell me a date range that my belongings will be delivered (only repeat the contract terms) which doesn't help to be without your possessions. Everything that I read about in reviews about horrible moving companies is coming true with United Regions Van Lines. I strongly do not recommend this company. Customer Service is horrible if you can reach them on the phone. The Estimator under quoted after I several times requested that he go high on the quote not to have any surprises. The only thing is when I would call, I could never get an answer or talk to the people that I had already been talking to. I did talk with someone this morning, and they explained to me that they're on the phone with their clients and I understood because I'm a client, and they were on the phone with me for a long period of time. it's just that I wasn't getting answers. He was explaining to me that sometimes they will answer, and if they put me on hold because they're on the call, it might take a few minutes. I was explaining to him that the problem was no one was picking up for me at all. Other than that, everything is fine. He gave me the number to call back. So, I got that straightened out. We are writing this review of United Nation Van Lines after taking a bit of time to clear our thoughts and emotions. We hope it will help others make an informed decision on their choice of carriers for a long distance move. We know it is a bit of a long read but the information we feel is valuable and worth the time. After taking our time looking at online reviews on sites like Trust Pilot and Consumer Affairs, we chose three different companies and called all three. All could deliver the same product and the quotes were all within the same ballpark price range.
The one difficult thing for my wife and I was the long delivery windows. United Nation Van Lines informed us they had an expedited delivery option which costs a bit more. Richard our sales agent took the time to call dispatch for our route and confirm they would be able to deliver our good as promised for the additional fee. We chose United Nation Van Lines for this reason. We were scheduled for an April 8, 9 pick up with an expedited delivery window of April 12-16.
The move started as planned. The only critique we have is the call to schedule the pickup was only one day prior to the arrival of the crew. We were packed for the move so this was less of an issue. The crew showed up on time on the 8th and loaded our items quickly in under three hours as the items were staged and packed already. We were informed by Carin in Customer Service we needed to wire our payment due, since a check would not have enough business days to clear before our expedited delivery window. We were told all items would be taken to the secured storage yard and loaded on a truck for the expedited delivery. All good at this point so far.
We headed to our new home a three day drive expecting our items to be delivered as contracted about two to five days later. As the delivery widow arrived I called and was told no our delivery was not on a truck and we would not receive our items till the end of the next week at the earliest. I called back and a second time and spoke to Carin in customer service. She agreed that was not the contract we had and said she would look into it. After a few days (I called every day) we were told the truck for our delivery broke down and they were waiting for the next truck. They did refund the expedited delivery charge and promised to get our items loaded on the next truck. In the meantime we were told not to worry the items were stored a the secure warehouse and were safe.
We were frustrated but understanding things happen, trucks break and shipping was a busy sector of the economy at the time. We made do, bought what we need and continued to try to communicate with Carin in customer service. Our biggest complaint was we could not get an answer to when we could expect our items. There seemed to be no schedule or plan for when our shipment would arrive.
On Friday the 22nd of April Carin told me they had a truck loading to head our way and we should get our goods by Friday the next week. This was correct and we did get our shipment on Friday the 29th. The truck however was not a United Nation Van Lines truck but an independent subcontractor. Two weeks late but at least we had our items back... or so we thought.
The goods as they were unloaded looked in decent condition, one has to be realistic when you move your items some things will be slightly damaged and scratched, some boxes may get a bit crushed. It’s just how it goes and the small issues we had we understood and accepted as normal wear and tear of a move. I won’t fault United Nation for that. As we began unpacking however, my wife found two boxes both from our bedroom area which had the side of the box ripped downward from the handle (Home Depot boxes) these were then attempted to be re-taped. In each box we found items had been stolen. In the first a jewelry box top was broken open jewelry, thumb drives of photos, and sentimental items were stolen. In the second two expensive pairs of sunglasses were stolen. Only valuables were missing from each box. This was disturbing. Theft is very different from damage or even lost or misplaced items.
I called Carin in customer service and explained the situation when I described the boxes she agreed it sounded clearly like theft and apologized. She stated she would inform her manager and look into it. She also took a preliminary list of items and said there was a lost and found perhaps some of the sentimental items could be found that way.
I called back several times and finally spoke with Carin’s manager Lisa a week later. When I began to describe the situation she was unaware of the theft completely, she had never been informed. She also agreed it was clearly theft. Only when I spoke to her did she contact the warehouse the goods had been stored at. A whole week of time was lost. We relayed to her we knew the items were gone and only the sentimental items and photos stolen were irreplaceable. She also apologized and told us on the back of the contract it states you should never ship items of value that could be lost.
This leaves us at the end of our review. Choosing a shipping company is a tough call. Most of us have items of value both monetary and sentimental we have to ship despite the very small fine print on the back of a page. It’s just life. People can have artwork, expensive clothes, shoes and any number of valuable items. Moving companies break items and lose items. It’s part of the business, they have the contracts and insurance to protect them in those cases. My wife and I understood damage and loss were a risk in the move, the horror stories are out there that’s why we did our research. All moving companies have bad reviews. They can’t be perfect. However theft is a different matter. It is a complete violation of the trust you put into a company to move your items, it’s not incidental to the business it is out and out a crime. For this reason we recommend individuals choose a different moving company and not United Nation Van Lines.

They had to go through the lobby to an elevator up to the third floor and I believe that was the biggest reason that it went up. They hire drivers with trucks who may or may not have their own rig and THOSE drivers round up their own "packers and movers" who may or may not have ANY experience moving. Crews, while very nice and polite, had no idea how to pack and our belongings were transferred from smaller trucks to storage facilities several times and then, finally to a driver from California who happened to show up a full week later than expected...and Customer Service had no idea where our things actually were during that time. They expressed concern until our van arrived and everything was damaged and in complete disarray. Then they got snippy. Told me to file a lawsuit and hung up on me. Save yourself a migraine and don't believe all the fake glowing reviews.
Original Review: The reason that I chose United Regions Van Lines was because the sales guy seemed to know what he was talking about. He was very friendly, cool, always got back to me, called me with all this. But it turned out, his number one skill was lying. This company on ConsumerAffairs' website shows that they are not a broker, but they are. I know this because the man who dropped off our furniture, finally, after a week of them not even knowing where our stuff was, has his own truck. And when they found out that we were in the cab, and that we knew that it was his own truck, they got pissed. Because we weren't supposed to know that. He has his own cab, and he rented the trailer to go with it and hired his own people to do the actual move in.
My mother and I each had our own 2,000 plus square foot homes in Austin. We combined them into one home in Lexington, South Carolina. Darrell, the man who sold United Regions to me, was, “Oh, yeah, we can do that. Not a problem. We’ll go to one house first and pack," because I purchased a full pack. "Then we'll go to the next house, and we'll add on. And we'll drive it straight to South Carolina.”
Moving day, they showed up at my mother's house with a short-rented truck. Enterprise Rental. Not even the semi that that was sold to me. And they said that their truck was behind schedule, but they didn't want to not show, so there they were. That was supposed to take one day. They packed up my mother's stuff and had to go back the next day. But she had packed a lot of things ahead of time. The movers didn’t get it done. They kept complaining about how much stuff she had. But I told them that we had fully established homes that were 2,000 square feet. And I sent him an inventory as well when they asked me about how many boxes to add on to that. I went through it extensively with them and their customer service department, which is a complete and utter joke. There is nothing congenial or nice about them. They would pretend to be nice, but all of a sudden they spit fire.
The next morning, they were at her house until noon, and they came to my house. But it was like they went and unloaded all of her stuff into a storage unit and brought back the same short truck and loaded it, and got it a third full. Drove it to my house, thinking that my entire house would fit in this two-thirds space. And they left with the tailgate down and the contents of my garage, including my lawnmower, on the back of the tailgate that hung loose, and they had it strapped on with some bungees. They just wanted to leave everything behind because they couldn't fit them.
We were already late getting out on the road. We were expected in Lexington. I thought that they would transfer this to a semi, and get on the road the next day, so that they would be delayed. And I kept saying, “You’re gonna be there Monday, right?” “Oh, yeah. Okay.” They didn't sound convincing. But he said, “Oh, no, everything is good.” It took them over a week. I kept asking, “When are you going to be here? Where is the truck?” But they wouldn't call me back. They would see it with me calling, but they wouldn't pick up the phone. So, I had to go through their national line and transfer in by hitting a button to talk to customer service, and they would pick up. And they kept saying they didn't know where it was. I said, “How do you not know where it is?” She was sympathetic, but still wouldn't go there.
Finally, I got a call from the driver that he would be there the next day. They finally got there. It looked like our stuff had been handled by a bunch of chimpanzees who had thrown it. Boxes were crushed. We found lampshades in a wardrobe box with a leaf blower. It was bad. But they would only pay 40 cents per pound on an item that is damaged. Luckily, we came through unscathed in terms of anything serious. My piano made it, but they never wrapped my piano bench. They didn’t even take the music out of the piano bench, and it got there smashed. That was my first expense. I had to pay for that out of pocket, just to get it there. I have a short video of the bookshelf that is funny if it’s not so sad. We were unwrapping it with this plastic that they wrapped around it, and the whole thing collapsed down upon itself, just like those towers in Miami.
ConsumerAffairs needs to review why United Regions Van Lines was even recommended on their site in the first place because they are a brokerage, and they are scammers. I tried to call Darryl back several times, but he would not return my call. I emailed him several times, but he would not return them, too. I know he's there. Because when I called, and I opted in through the mechanized transfer system, I asked for him. The guy said, “He’s on another call. Can I help you?” And I said, “I don’t know. Can you? Will you?” So, I know that Darryl was there, but he was not responding.

I was not able to be at the location during the packing because the whole process was supposed to begin on Wednesday. The driver with the truck didn't show up until after 4 o'clock on Friday. They got held up at another job site and he was the only person that showed up with a 26-foot moving truck to move a 4-bedroom house. He started the packing process when he got there on Friday and stayed for about six hours packing boxes by himself. I went over everything that I needed to come with me numerous times. I marked certain things that needed to stay because my spouse is still at that location. I showed him specifically what was not to come with me.
But they were overwhelmed. One person came to pack and start loading this home by himself and the second person didn't show up until Saturday afternoon. Also, I had to board my dogs so that they were not in and amongst all of the stuff that the movers were trying to do. Had I known they weren't coming until 4 o'clock on Friday, I would not have had to take them to the boarding place until mid-afternoon on Friday and saved two days-worth of boarding for two dogs.
They put as much stuff as they could get onto the truck and left a bunch of other things there. For the back patio furniture, I got the four chairs but no table. I got cleaning items that never arrived. They said it's because they can't ship liquid in boxes. I offered them to use plastic totes that I had available at the home but instead, they packed those full of other things that could have gone in boxes. There's a 4x8 U-Haul full of stuff that is still at my old place and I'll have to go get it myself. I contacted the customer service department and was assured that I would receive a call from management but I haven't heard anything from them. I sent an email to the salesperson that got me all lined up and I've never heard back from him either.
When they arrived at the new location, it was 7 o’clock on a Sunday evening. Had my family not been here, it would have taken them until sometime very early Monday morning to finish unloading. We had five extra people to help the two people that came with the truck do it and they only set up one furniture item, we had to do the rest.
I had paid everything up to that point and before they would finish unloading, I had to Venmo an additional 700 and some dollars because they said that we were over the cubic feet. When you are scheduling these kinds of moves for people, it would be best to have someone come to the residence and get a visual of the things that the person is wanting to move versus having that person walk around the home and tell you everything. I was okay with the initial quote but not so much with the ending bill. I ended up paying about 3,000 over what they initially quoted me. I would never recommend United Regions Van Lines as a mover ever.

United Regions Van Lines was a well-known name so I thought that service would also remain the same, but it wasn't. I moved from Washington State to Florida. I was in a hotel room. We finally found a home. I started to call and organize the move, and it was about at least $12,000 so it was one of those things that you shop around. United Regions beat everybody's price, but not by thousands. Because of the name recognition, I chose to go with them. They have a cancellation policy to get your deposit back, which was in the amount of about four grand, but it’s within a seven-day window.
At that point, I thought everything would be fine. Once we were in the seven-day window, then they started to organize the move. That was when the $14,000 charge for the move went up to 20,000. I was within that seven-day window so that cancellation policy to get my deposit back was null and void at that point. So, I felt like I was totally scammed. I ended up forfeiting the deposit, and not throwing good money after that. I let it go. I made a complaint to Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau and never heard anything back from the van line.

For a company that is in such business, they are always ahead of the curve. They were very quick to react at the start of the pandemic and had all their teams in full PPE gear when we hired them then. When I hired them for this move, they were one of the first to be completely compliant with the new rules in New York. The California regulations were slightly different and they informed us of them in advance, too. Very efficient and professional.

We hired this company for our move recently and it is the easiest thing to rate them 5 stars. The movers were just perfect for the job – young guys who looked like they could lift the house itself if they wanted to! However, they were very gentle with our things, packing and loading them with a lot of care. They were also punctual, arriving 20 minutes before they were due to start. Working as hard as they were, they had the job done ahead of time as well. The office staff were great at their side of things, making sure we knew what was happening and when. Coupled together, all this made for a very smooth and hassle-free move for us.

This company has the best moving crew that I have ever seen, either in the United States or any of the dozen or so countries where I have lived. They have a way about them that allows them to handle even the most complicated jobs. I recently moved to New York from Canada and the movers just across the border gave me a terrible time with my oversized things. I then hired this team to move all the very same things from New York to Atlanta, GA. They did the work without a peep, completely destroying all the silly excuses the Canadians were giving me. Doing the job is one thing, but these movers also did it quickly and without any damage to anything.

This moving company takes its reputation seriously. When you see all the positive reviews that they have received over such a long time from people all over the country, you can tell that they have an established reputation based on trust and delivering on their promises. I certainly found that to be the case when I hired them for my move. The quote they gave us when we first contacted them was just a few dollars off the final price. The pickup and delivery windows were also spot on. Apart from that, the staff at the company are pleasant to deal with. They were all very polite and helpful and made our move much easier. 5 stars.

My things were just delivered by a moving company this morning and we are still in the process of unpacking but I wanted to get this review out of the way because everything they have done thus far has been just infallible. The movers were so careful with all our things when they were packing and loading that it’s totally expected that everything we have opened until now is in perfect shape. They were also very friendly while they were working at our place. It was great to have such a cool, pleasant atmosphere amidst all the chaos of moving. I had the pleasure of hiring this team to handle my move from Richmond, VA to Jacksonville, FL last month. This 5 star rating and review is a direct result of the fantastic job that they did. The job was pretty minor – my old place was a 2 bedroom apartment in Virginia and the new place is a penthouse in Florida. I am single so most of the things were just art pieces and my tech equipment. The movers were very careful with everything because they realized the value, but also because they are good movers. I am very pleased with the professionalism they showed in moving my things. This was my first move living on my own and I think it went perfectly.

5 stars. It is a wonder how huge the difference is when you hire a good moving company as opposed to a budget option. In my last move, I had gone for the cheaper options that seemed to be reliable on the surface. It was a disaster. Having learned my lesson, I only chose between reliable companies this time, and this was the one that won out over the others. Of course, we ended up having to spend quite a bit more than we had spent before, but I would trade the reliability for the savings in cash any day. Heck, you could even end up paying more with broken things and ‘extra charges’ with some of the cheaper companies.

This crew deserves this 5 star review. They were just perfect in the move that they did for us. We were moving our 4 bedroom house in San Antonio, TX to a penthouse in Monterey, CA. I had never moved interstate before so the logistics were just too huge to handle on my own. This moving company came highly recommended from a number of our friends, some who had used them to move to TX and others who had moved from there. The consensus was that this was one of the best movers out there. I have to say that the cost was slightly higher than I had initially anticipated. If you are okay with paying a price for quality, this company should be your choice.

We hired these professionals for our move from Oregon to Texas, which meant packing up everything from our old duplex and transporting it all the way to our new standalone home. The moving and packing was pretty tedious and so we decided to get the full package where the movers handled that aspect as well. The team made up of 3 people was very good and they packed up everything so quickly it was hard to believe. It wasn’t rushed, though, just very talented people applying the skills they had learned on the job. We have unpacked already and can confirm that they did not damage anything along the way. I think the price we paid was well worth the service.

I have finally come across a moving company as good and reliable as this after hunting for a long time. They tick all the boxes – they are polite, punctual and actual professional movers. I chose them after deliberating between 3 companies, 2 of which are huge international names. The reason we went with them was their affordability but their attention to detail also played a part. The customer service people on the phone for other companies were not as responsive as this team. If they can be like that at the start, why would I entrust my entire house to them, right? Of course, now that the move is done, it’s proven that we made the right choice.

They are the only movers that I have come across who go out of their way to do things like the customer wants instead of trying to force the customer to accept the way they want things done. We were very anxious that our fragile collection of mini sculptures were transported using our own boxes (but packed by the movers). They agreed and we supervised the process, and nothing was broken either during that phase or during delivery. I am not surprised that the rates were a little higher since it was a rushed job but it was still cheaper than some of the crazy prices other companies were quoting us. It may seem like a small difference but it makes a huge impact when things go wrong and something drops. It shows in their work, both in the way that they handle and carry heavy items, but also in how they interact with customers. I'm sorry that I had to give them a one star but I can't submit a review without marking something. I am stunned that Consumer Affairs put these people on the top of their list, which is one of the reasons I went with this moving company. I paid dearly for a full pack. I was assured that this firm had their own trucks and that they would furnish an experienced crew. Everything had to go into storage beginning mid-Nov and could not be delivered until mid-February. I am a seasoned mover from the west coast to the east coast and back, 26 times with only 2 corporate moves. One item alone I moved 18 times in Oregon and California, without a glitch. One move from these people there are two large breaks and numerous chips.
When I initially contacted these folks I was very clear that I had a pair of vintage lamps from the 40's and a pair of vintage stained glass lamp shades that needed special attention with packing because I knew that the glass was no longer available and would be extremely difficult to get repaired. I explained this the same way with the packing crew boss. Needless to say the lampshades were not packed separately, shoved haphazardly into boxes with no protection with other items and I had to cut two boxes up to remove things without causing any further damage. All the rubber stoppers are missing from my glass top table bases. There weren't too many pieces of furniture that have not been damaged. The top to the China cabinet is scraped up something fierce, one of the door handles are completely gone, the other is damaged. It is so bad that I will probably have to scrap the top and hope I can use the buffet.
Everything is either scraped or gouged. I can't even imagine how they could damage almost everything I own. My clothes were thrown into boxes even though they used, and charged me for, wardrobe boxes. I could go on adnauseum but it is getting too aggravating. When the van arrived in Las Vegas, the crew they sent to unpack the truck kept telling me that they were only taking care of the unloading and was so very sorry about all the damage. As if that isn't bad enough, they unloaded five boxes that don't even belong to me. The van left before I had a chance to look at the boxes in the garage otherwise I could have had them take the boxes back with them. My contact wants me to take pictures and email them to her because she doesn't have a cell phone. Now I have to figure out how to do that. I have at least one missing box.
Since I only have one opportunity to file a damage claim, I have had to unpack every box, inspect for damage, document, repack and keep all of the damaged boxes which amounts to almost two dozen of them. I didn't even keep the dented and mashed boxes, just the ones that had holes gouged in them. I initially did not want, or expect to, have to do this in such a short time frame. I realize that I have nine months to file a claim, but I have other issues that I need to deal with. I think that it really nice that this moving company has so many wonderful reviews but, in all honestly, I don't think that I am the only one with this kind of experience. I am definitely not looking forward to having to deal with the claim, I am just hoping that it will be fair and reasonable. Thank you.

Would never use again. I received absolutely no advance notice prior to arrival of my furniture, even though it was a trip of almost 900 miles, just a call notifying me the truck was at the destination. The company representative said they had tried to call me, but my call log for the entire week between pick up and delivery indicates that is not true. It DOES reflect the two calls I made to United the day before their arrival (at which time they couldn't provide me with any delivery information) AND a voicemail from them that they were checking the status.
The truck arrived on the one day I requested delivery not be made because my daughter was scheduled for surgery. This date and the request was given to the original individual who took my order, the quality assurance person who called one week prior to pick up and to the apparent leader of the team who loaded my order. I received the call that the truck was at my new home while en route to the hospital. I had to immediately turn around and drive 90 minutes to meet the movers. If that wasn't distressing enough, they charged me an additional $300 for the wait time! Using their own trucks? Another lie. My load was delivered in an Enterprise rental. Of the six men involved in my move, only one at the pick up spoke any English.
It took 15 minutes and involvement of someone off site for me to get documentation of the $2500 cash paid at time of delivery. I insisted in noting the cash payment on the paperwork and was finally able to get a copy of it, after the employees refused to let me take a photo of the document. They were not a particularly economical choice, either, costing me over $7,000 to move 1100 cubic feet about 850 miles (almost all self-packed).

DO NOT USE UNITED NATION VAN LINES! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. YOU WILL NOT GET VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY!! We recently made an interstate move (about 450 miles). We had the horrible misfortune of hiring United Nation Van Lines. First, they used a bait and switch tactic. The salesperson asked us to identify each and every piece of furniture. When we tried to give him dimensions, he would not wait for us to measure, saying it didn't matter. He would not allow us time to count boxes. When we told him we had forgotten our patio furniture and a barbecue, he didn't want to start the process over, & he said, "They'll be included in the final estimate." Using our list of every other single piece of furniture in our home, he estimated about 2000 cubic feet and a price of around $11,000.
When the delivery people showed up, the cubic feet increased to about 3300 cubic feet, and the price jumped from $11,000 to $18,000. By that time, they already had our deposit of about $2800, which of course was non-refundable. They also had already begun readying our property for transport. So, we felt we had little choice but to continue. Also, we had been told that the payment on pickup could be made by cashier's check. However, the workers refused to take a cashier's check and demanded cash or postal money order.
During the process, we received a call from Karen, who promised to "be there with us throughout the process." She would help with everything, she assured us. They delivered the goods one day later than promised, which was not a significant delay. Not a single person on the delivery team spoke English. They had mechanical translators, which were awkward and inconvenient to use. The delivery people would not even open the truck until they received the entire cash payment, which we considered unreasonable.
We tried to call Karen (the person who was going to help us throughout), and her phone just rang and rang, with no option to even leave a voice mail. We called the Sales number, thinking they would answer on a Friday morning, but--again, no answer. We surmised that our phone numbers had been blocked. We had clearly marked where each box was to go, with color-coded stickers, but the workers just dropped the boxes wherever they saw fit.
The workers did not put all our furniture & appliances back together as promised by the salesperson. The bed frame (two twins attached together) is missing a piece. When the door had to be taken off, they wanted to unscrew the hinges instead of using the pins in the hinges. They thought the clothing washer was a dishwasher, and they put the washer and dryer in the wrong locations in the laundry room. Several items were broken--a hanging clothes box was crushed, and a few plastic items (clothes hamper, trash can, etc.) were broken. We have not yet identified damage to valuable property.
There was little care taken in how the property was placed in the truck (light items on top of heavy items, etc.). When the job was complete (by the company's standards), we asked for a copy of the paperwork they insisted we sign. They refused to give us a copy, and did not want to give us a receipt for the $5880 cash we had paid. Finally, we wrote "Received, $5880" and the boss reluctantly signed that notation. After all that, when the delivery team clearly knew we were not happy, they asked for a tip, which we obviously did not provide. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT CONSIDER UNITED NATION VAN LINES.

Moving is always a nightmare and that is why you need to hire a company like this one who can keep the extra drama to a minimum. I have been hiring this company to handle all my home moves as well the transfer of my office for precisely that reason. They are one of the most professional companies in any line of business that I have had the pleasure to work with. I hope that I will get to extend this client-business relationship for many years into the future. (This move was my 3 bedroom penthouse in Alabama to a 4 bedroom house in Maryland).

I had a hard time deciding whether to use these people for my move or another company that I have used before. The main reason was that while the other company was cheaper, they were also slightly haphazard with their execution of the 2 moves they have done for us. On the other hand, this one seems to have only glowing reviews from hundreds of customers over many years. Catch was their higher price. I bit the bullet and hired them anyway and am glad for it. They did a great job, much superior to the old movers and worth the price difference.

I recommend them to anyone who will listen. They have been doing the moves for our small real estate company for a few years but this time, I was retired and moving myself from Charleston, SC to Allentown, PA. They gave me a special rate because I am such an old and regular customer so that was very kind of them – they didn’t have to. I am very happy with how well the movers spoke and interacted with us. Very kind and polite. I hope that I will get a chance for another wonderful move with these excellent people. 5 stars.

I had a very nice experience with this moving company. They were very courteous with our entire family, including my elderly parents. Their work just cannot be faulted. The team arrives ahead of time and calls ahead to inform you. They do their work quietly and don’t waste any time. When it comes to handling even the biggest and heaviest objects, they take an extraordinary amount of care. Despite that, they still work quickly enough to finish within the allocated time. I really couldn’t find a complaint to make about them even when I wracked my brain. A 5 star moving experience.

I have used many companies that promised me the world for a lower price. I learned my lesson the right way that any moving company that offers you crazy bargains should not be trusted. This company may be a slight bit pricier than the average moving company but they are much more professional and capable than the other companies that we can compare them to. I suggest that you don’t make the same mistake I did and look only for low prices – look for balance off quality for money. I am wiser for my mistakes and hope my review helps.

I have never felt comfortable using professional movers because it seems odd to me to hand over everything I own to people I don’t know at all. However, I was forced to do exactly that when I was moving from Queens, NY to Manteo, NC recently. I asked all my friends and family for recommendations and this company quickly became a leading candidate. I called them up and they filled me with confidence with their open and helpful attitude. I did not mind paying their slightly higher price because it put my mind at ease to know professionals were handling the job.

We got a very good team of movers who did not waste time and got straight to working on the job. Their hard work was done very fast but they did not take shortcuts to do so. Instead, I found their way of working to be very careful and very respectful of all our things. I am also so happy with the service I received. 5 stars. Thank you!

This was another move very well executed by good people, one of the moving companies that you can trust. I have hired them several times and know from experience that they are one of the best in the business. The most impressive part of the operation is the consistently great performance. I also appreciate the fact that they have kept their prices reasonably low despite the crazy inflation that we are seeing all around. My move was from Baltimore, MD to Douglas, GA (2 bedroom houses at both locations) and they handled it with ease. I would easily recommend this company.

I was rather impulsive about my choice to use movers and called a few of them up about 2 weeks before the day I intended to move. Of the 7 companies that I called, I only shortlisted 2 because of how they spoke and how genuine the operator sounded. I finally decided to go with this great guys because they answered my questions most satisfactorily. They were able to give the date and time slot I wanted, too. The movers were nice enough, doing the job quietly and efficiently. I am quite pleased with the result and might hire them again.

Of all the times that my arm had to break, it was right before I was scheduled to move to a new state and a new job. I was forced to hire movers which was an extra but necessary expense. Fortunately, the movers I hired were recommended to me by a close friend. She had used them several times before and swears by them. I was very happy with the performance I got and also with the reasonable price that I was charged. Although the move was a pretty small one (Indiana to Pennsylvania), I can see that it is a very good moving company.

Some of my best memories have been of moving houses myself but since I am getting older (and earning enough to), I decided to hire pro movers for this move. I was moving from Dallas, TX to San Jose, CA and needed them to just handle the actual moving part – I am pretty adept at packing, etc. so I did it all myself. The movers arrived on the dot and they finished loading up all the boxes from my 3 bedroom house within 3 hours. My things were delivered to my house in California right on the dot as well. Perfect.

I highly recommend this moving company because I am so pleased with their work after they were recommended to me. The main thing that stood out from their performance was the almost obsessive commitment to doing things on time. They always call ahead and always arrive early. The movers work hard when they are on the clock and always finish ahead of time. I used them for 3 separate moves within the space of three weeks and their performance was consistently excellent. While they are not the cheapest option, I would say that they are worth what they charge.

I think I made a mistake every time I hired a moving company that wasn’t like this one. They have been the only movers who were able to follow all my instructions to the ‘T’ and do so without kicking up a stink. The movers were very accommodating – they listened to my instructions for how I wanted my fragile contents handled and did an excellent job of following through. I am also very pleased with their sales manager who helped to coordinate the whole move. She was very professional and part of the reason for this favorable review. 5 star performance.

My first impression of this company was perfect. When I took a closer look at the difference in the packages, it became obvious that they charge what they do for a valid reason. Included in our package was high-quality packing material and tape, as well as a guarantee that if the things we declared didn’t change, the price would be the same, too. That was reassuring to know since we have been duped by other movers before. Well worth the cost. 5 stars.

It was a pleasure hiring United Nation Van Lines because they gave me better value for money than any other moving company that I have hired. Most movers have very basic packages advertised but it surprised me that United Nation Van Lines’ ad included packaging stuff like packing boxes and securing tape, etc. That is why their package may give the impression that it is more expensive but when you look closer, it is actually a better balance of quality and cost. The movers also did a good job of earning my trust with their easygoing attitude and open attitude. It had also been the same with the office team with whom we had spoken. I am very pleased that I hired them and would do so again.

The company caused thousands of dollars in damage. The driver opened the back of the truck and it was bad, the stacking was all over the truck. I asked the driver if he loaded it and he stated "NO" but when asked where the gun cabinet was he stated "in the front". The driver offloaded the truck into the driveway in the rain and left it there as his load help just left. I had to call the Sheriff's Office to respond as he tried to leave without moving the furniture and boxes into the house. There is a lot of damage that has been documented by video and photos and an attorney has been contacted for assistance due to what had happen and them leaving a Disabled Veteran with one leg to load what he could into the house as he was not doing it. I do not and will not ever recommend this company and the service was the worst that I had ever had to deal with as no one from the company would answer the phone or call back after numerous attempts to contact them

I have been searching for a moving company like United Nation Van Lines all my life! Here, finally, I have found movers who can do what they claim and within the time frame that they quote me. Best of all, it was all done at a very reasonable price. My first interaction with them was at my brother’s place when he was moving to Georgia. I saw that the men were very capable and took a lot of care. I asked him for their number when I made plans to move from Macon, GA to Levittown, PA. He recommended them highly himself and said that he had used them several times, all with excellent results. I am happy to join the club. 5 stars.

I would hire United Nation Van Lines again just for the great moving crew they have. However, they also have an admin team in the office that is just as good. I think this move from Seattle, WA to Henderson, NV that they handled was better than any other move that I have had done in the past. And it is all thanks to the people that make up this company. Everybody that I had an opportunity to interact with was so friendly and professional. They knew their aspect of the job and were ready to share the information with me when I asked. The movers were just fantastic – they delivered everything without a single scratch. I am happy to recommend them. 5 stars.

I was a bit nervous about my move because we had given away a lot of the original packaging for our electronics and appliances for recycling. When we explained that to the admin team at United Nation Van Lines, they said that the movers would take it all in their stride. On moving day, they came with extra hard packaging, lots of packing peanuts, and even these felt draping blankets that apparently help to absorb impact as well as prevent scratches from things knocking together. All our fragile items got the royal treatment, protected from all sides with soft impact resistant material. I can say that for sure because it was all delivered in exactly the same condition as it was packed. 5 stars.
