    We have filed complaints with the BBB, FTMC, the Washington Attorneys General, Ohio Attorneys General, submitted to a news station, and left an FBI tip against United Regions Van Lines. The company replied with misinformation to both Attorneys General offices. We have requested a partial refund and reimbursement for the numerous damaged items. The company has not responded or attempted to find a resolution leaving us only with legal recourse.

    My wife hired the company to move us from WA to TN but our experience was abominable, and we believe they are participating in extortion, coercion, deceptive billing practices, and unethical conduct. The movers arrived a day late with no communication and did not answer phone calls when we attempted to clarify new paperwork. The movers who arrived came in an Enterprise truck and spoke poor English with no identification.

    My wife was coerced into signing additional paperwork, one mover stood over her repeatedly stating she had to sign; with the movers stating they would not move any items nor return already moved items without us signing the paperwork. We had to leave our house that night for the people who were moving in which left no other option. The movers adjusted the price multiple times, and provided inadequate explanations for charges. Our binding estimate was just over 15,000 and in the end, we paid over 21,000 as the company would not release our belongings, tell us where they were, and ultimately held them hostage. A summary of our issues is below as the details are ten pages long at this point.

    Key Complaints: Coercion and Price Adjustments: Allegations of being coerced into signing additional paperwork on moving day. The paperwork we signed would disappear and the mover would bring new papers to sign. Movers repeatedly adjusted the price without clear explanations. Discrepancies between the initially signed Binding Estimate Contract and subsequent Bill of Lading.

    Unexplained Charges: The movers dissembled numerous items resulting in extra charges for individual components they called 'miscellaneous'. They also counted a box of yard tools and a weight set each as one item on the estimate then counted each individual piece in the tall yard box and each weight as more miscellaneous items which increased our item count exponentially. The company then accused us of not being transparent in telling them the items we had to move despite them observing everything in a video walkthrough.

    Items were wrapped without prior notice, and charges were applied for wrapping. Items we had wrapped were wrapped again even though the company informed us we could pack and wrap as we would like. They claimed this was their process and at the discretion of the two movers who arrived. Charges for additional boxes due to alleged weight issues and stacking limitations were not adequately explained. The company claims our items took up more room on the truck but gave no photo or visual evidence.

    Communication Issues: Lack of transparency and explanations during the moving process. Third-Party Involvement: Concerns about third-party movers (EZ Way Logistics Inc.) handling belongings without consent. The company cites their contract allows for third party movers but we have no documentation of this. The company states some documentation may have been 'misplaced.'

    The movers at delivery refused to reassemble disassembled items, contrary to the contract terms. The company states this was due to temporary storage as we could not move in right away, but that is does not preclude them from reassembly. The delivery movers and the company kept stating we had to pay in cash and cash was listed in the contract, but did not specify physical dollars. Thus, we paid via Venmo and Zelle payments which constitute cash in the modern day, but they were unhappy. They arrived on a Monday holiday and were disgruntled about payment.

    Lack of Documentation: Failure to provide receipts and detailed documentation despite multiple requests. The company claims they provided receipts, we have none verifying payments. Questions regarding the validity of the digital copy of the final Bill of Lading. There are discrepancies between documents we signed. We have requested refunds and reimbursement for damaged goods and received no reply from United Regions Van Lines. We urge people to avoid this company and hope our experience deters others, so they do not experience the nightmare we have.

    Booked 1650-mile move to Texas with Eric ** of United Regions Van Lines. Was told twice that my furniture/possessions would be driven directly from Las Vegas to Texas with no intermediary stops or transfer to another moving company. Now waiting for my delivery with NO estimated date to receive, my stuff went to Los Angeles for some reason and now waiting to be combined with other shipments before even starting towards Texas. 17 business day window is all they say now. Who on this Earth thinks that one month delivery window is reasonable? I recorded all conversations with Eric at United Regions Van Lines so his lies are fully documented -- I will be contacting authorities as this is fraud and cross state lines means Federal laws likely broken.

Was threatened that they would leave stuff unless I paid thousands more than expected. Boxes not labeled as to room so guessing game unpacking. Boxes only half full. Missing screws to fix tv to stand. Missing feet to wine cabinet. Broken book case. Scratched TV screen. Difficulty reaching a real person. Sent 18 wheeler to deliver furniture, again apartment complex. The truck could not get within the footage so I had to pay extra. Again, they knew it was an apartment complex. I would not recommend to anyone. Andy, shame on you for the original estimate.

    This company misrepresented themselves over and over during our move. Once they picked up our property they asked for money several times before they would deliver it to our home. They low-balled the estimate so that we would sign with them, then proceeded to hold our property hostage until we paid. The people we dealt with were inconsiderate and condescending. It is a SCAM.

    We had hired a moving company for an interstate move between AZ and OH. Issues began when the two individuals from the company arrived on 04/01/2023. I own a 1222 lb. gun safe. This was told to the company when they were hired. The company only sent two people for my move with just standard dollies. In the past, it has taken at Least 2 people and specialized tools to move my safe. We were also told that we would owe more money since the cu. ft. was underestimated. Nothing was explained to me as far as the process of making an inventory. Both of the individuals were from the Ukraine and only one of them spoke broken English. They had to go hire three additional men off the street to move my safe. It was loaded on its side in the back of the truck. I had a grandfather clock loaded into the truck as well with the rest of my belongings.

    I did not take delivery of my items until 04/27/2023. When they finally arrived, my safe literally looked like it was rolled off the back of the truck onto the ground. It has deep scratches, gouges, and scrapes on all sides of it. Also, one of the hinges for the door was bent. My grandfather clock was not on the truck, my grill had a large dent on the lid, an antique chair was split on the back, and my tv stand was damaged on the back. I called the company and they outright refused to acknowledge that my clock was even picked up. I completed the claim process with the "independent processor" and was offered a grand total of $75.00. My gun safe cost over $4000.00 when I bought it in 2017. To purchase the same model now would be over $8000.00.

    I moved from Oregon to New Mexico. They were late almost 2 days picking up my items for storage and didn't tell me the driver's truck was broken. I was told once I found a new residence I could call 7-10 days ahead and they would ship my belongings, which were in their storage facility. It took me over 3 weeks to get them to send my furniture. Once it arrived, the movers barely spoke English. I had numerous items broken or missing. Boxes were torn. Legs gone from my ottoman. Damages around $500. I filed a complaint and received a check for $64, based on the weight, not the values. I would never use them again!

    I contracted with United Regions Van Lines for my move. First, I found that I would be charged double the quoted price, which was fine because it was a large move. In addition to the reservation fee and the up-front moving day fees (ca $5000) I paid ~ $17,000 on time using my bank’s bill-pay system. I have the bank paperwork to prove that this payment was submitted correctly and on time. They claim that they never received the payment. Today, they demanded an additional ~$6000 in late fees and storage fees for the entire month since the move took place. Now I’m wondering how many more thousands of dollars they will charge me to have my goods delivered. This is an instance of totally unscrupulous price-gouging and extortion! This is a warning to all potential customers: do not do business with this company! A complete rip-off!!

    I contacted several moving companies in preparation for my move and after reviewing the quotes decided on United Regions Van Lines most due to their price being 30% less than other companies. They charge based upon CF and not weight like other companies, although weight is included in their estimate and was the same as all the other quotes I had received. Initial estimate was 1300cf. My wife and I decided to move everything we could in an attempt to save money so we box nearly everything in the house and planned to only have the furniture moved.

    I tried calling and then emailing my sales rep to get an updated quote and was told both times that I would get a call about a week in advance to update. They were right, about a week ahead of time I received a call, but what they hadn’t told me was that I could only modify what I was taking by 15% even though I could have canceled everything and gotten a new quote more than a week out. This was obviously always what they had intended to ‘run out the clock’ on my time to cancel. My new quote was 1151CF.

    When moving day came the employees showed up and did an excellent job, but when it came time to pay they said I had used 1700CF and increased my price 50%. I seem to be caught in the same bait and switch reported so many times on the company. If I had stayed with what I originally had intend to ship it’s likely I would have been at 3000+CF.

    I have no idea how they can say it’s a binding estimate since I didn’t ship anything that wasn’t on my “binding estimate” and the only response from the drive was that he had to charge based upon the space and didn’t care what the estimate said. First of all the practice of intentionally underestimating should be illegal if it’s not already, and secondly, the company should be force to stand by their estimates as stated in the contract. It’s clear why they make you pay before delivering since once they have your goods you’re stuck, either pay up or lose everything.

    This company and its practices are unethical. I’ll also be filing a complaint with the Department of Commerce about the bait and switch tactics. Well moving day finally got here and delivery was made today. The driver showed up and had hired one, yes ONE, person to help him unload a 3 BR house. They actually did a pretty decent job unloading the truck. Problem is most of my kitchen is missing, multiple broken items, and missing parts required to assemble furniture.

    Please don’t fall for this company’s line. They are garbage and will gouge you at every turn. If that isn’t bad enough they don’t care what is missing or broken since you have already paid before they would unload the truck. You can make an effort to get the .60c per pound insurance if you enjoy frustration and getting basically nothing. You have been warned.

    I decided to go with this company because of the “moving coordinator” that I was supposed to be in close contact with who would be in communication with the actual movers and there to give me progress reports, etc. At this point, it seems that was just a sales pitch and I feel completely manipulated. The day our movers arrived, there were some discrepancies about our original quote. When I reached out to my “moving coordinator”, I got no response. I was able to work out the discrepancy with the movers myself, but since my belongings were removed, I’ve had no communication about when they will be shipped to me. I’ve reached out to my “moving coordinator” multiple times and… crickets. Not a good way to do business.

    Make sure to read the Docusign contract. Don’t just initial it. What they tell you on the phone and what they do are mutually exclusive. Nothing they pack is labeled, things get broken, delivery times are longer. Pack your own boxes. It’s cheaper and easier to find things afterwards. If I ever move out of state again I’ll order a pod and save a ton. The estimate was off from United by 50 percent. Love and learn. $27k is too much by a mile. If you go with a full pack, pick a company that goes by weight not space.

    If you care about your furniture, do not use United Regions Van Lines. I have never experienced a more horrendous transaction in my entire life and I've moved cross-country several times (this trip was from Atlanta to NYC).

    1. They misrepresented/lied about the delivery window. Their representative told me "legally" they had to deliver within 2 weeks. My items arrived nearly 6 weeks later. My calls to the "dispatch" department were generally ignored.

    2. Significant pieces of my furniture arrived damaged/broken. The legs on my work desk were broken in half and the cabinets were crushed. My reclaimed wood headboard (4 inches wide) was cracked and the bedframe had a bunch of scratches. Glassware (and their respective boxes) was crushed, even though they were wrapped in boxes labeled "fragile/do not pack on top".

    3. *(Biggest Indignity)* One of the movers urinated on the floor in my building even though he had access to several bathrooms. It was caught on video. He admitted to it after being confronted by my concierge. When I complained to the company, and provided video and still images to that effect, they attempted to gaslit me and claim it wasn't their mover.

    Don't be fooled by their marketing. This company is terrible. Run, run, run away from United Regions Van Lines.

    My experience was not positive. I was quoted a price of 7000.00 and with a series of discounts finally contracted for 5888.00. The movers came on the 28th of October. They did an excellent job. When I went to pay them, they said the sales rep had under estimated the cubic feet and that it would be an additional 1200.00. They refused a cashier's check and on Monday I had to wire 3269.40 to the office before they would put me on the delivery schedule. I sent the money on the 30th. It took them 5 days to give me a delivery window of November 10-15. My requested date of delivery was November 1. According to the contract, they had 17 days to deliver the furniture.

    On November 9, the driver texted me to inform me that he would deliver the following day, but that it would be an additional 1200.00 because the furniture had to be downloaded to a smaller truck to fit into the complex where I am living. Again, this was stated in the contract as possible. In the end, 5888.00 became 8410.00, an increase of 2500.00 over the contracted price, all within the contract parameters. I really feel as though this company has no regard for customer service and felt like at every turn, more charges were being added. All of this was required to be in cash or postal money order. Their primary concern was upping the cost and getting paid. Do not recommend.

    For a first time mover using a larger company, our expectations were apparently disregarded. No one gave us the same information whether it be the salespeople, coordinator, driver, and especially the whole ordeal about not unpacking upon delivery without full payment. I was livid about running around to get postal money orders and the seemingly deliberate underestimating the cubic feet needed. It costs us a third more in the end and they had us over a barrel. The mover dudes were great, but the drivers didn't speak English and made it a nightmare to communicate. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

Not only did our quote change mid move, but the quality of the moving service we received was truly despicable. Upon delivery we informed the movers and United Regions Van Lines customer service about the damage and nothing was done about it. When we contacted United Regions Van Lines to open a claim for the damage to the house and furniture and we were directed to their claims company - My Moving Claims.com. My Moving Claims.com customer service is just as terrible as United Regions Van Lines.

    When submitting a claim through My Moving Claims.com the portal is very archaic, so much to the point that it seems like they make it difficult on purpose so people get discouraged and not submit their claims. My Moving Claims.com portal has limits on how many items you can attach to your claim, how big your files are, if your pictures are labeled with your name, and how many pictures you can upload for one damaged area/item. Additionally, My Moving Claims.com does not allow you to log into the portal to view or update your case, you must submit a request to have them email you with an update.

    This process is truly terrible and gives United Regions Van Lines and My Moving Claims.com the upper-hand because they have the ability to state that the documents provided are incorrect, they never received the documents needed to complete the claim, or alleged that you never even submitted a claim (they attempted to assert these 3 excuses to us but I kept documentation of all the communication and claims we submitted). In a nutshell, please stay away from United Regions Van Lines. Their company, customer service and quality of service is not worth the risk of damages or issues.

    We booked this company to move our belongings from Virginia to Colorado. We basically picked them because they had a B+ rating with Better Business Bureau. We had a pickup date of August 14. When we called to see what time they would be there they told us we had been canceled. Still don't understand why, but we were rescheduled for August 16th pick up. They showed up in a rented Enterprise 26 foot truck with no identification. No way was our stuff going to fit. And it didn't. They left A LOT of our stuff. We had to rent a 20 ft U-Haul truck to get the rest of our stuff to Colorado. Originally, they gave us a quote and when they wanted the deposit, it was increased by $2,000. They charged us for 900 ➕️ more cubic feet than agreed upon, which was more than the truck could hold.

    No representative from this company came to the house to see what we had, to come up with how much it would actually cost. And the deposit check of $7,651.44 has been cashed. Oh, and they ran out of boxes and had to go to Home Depot and buy more. There were four guys, 1.5 of them knew English, the other two didn't know a word. That made it hard to communicate with them. One of them used one of our toilets and stopped it up. And when they strapped our refrigerator on the back of their truck, they used our ratchet straps without our knowledge and permission. We probably won't see those again. They put items on the curb where we had a trash pile going without permission. We don't know how many items, because people were stopping all day, going through the pile. There are so many things that went wrong that day, but the big thing was we were promised our stuff would be delivered August 26th.

    Again, my husband called to find out what time they would be at the new house. They said that the date we picked was just a possible date (that was not what they told us) out of 17 different days. Here it is August 30th and we have no idea when our stuff will be delivered. When my husband called them, they said they had no idea where our stuff was. WHAT?? How do you not know where our stuff is? I am so upset with this company! Every time we call them, they give us the runaround. If I ever get my stuff, I will consider changing this review, but I have a feeling it won't be much better.

    The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one is because of the Guys who moved me. They were very Professional and worked very hard. As far as United Regions themselves, I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. They jacked up the price $800 because they said they were charging me to drive straight through, which was the plan from the very beginning. Why wasn't that included in the estimate?     Do not use this company to help you move, they are unkind, unprofessional, and only out for themselves. They did not return our phone calls, when you get the machine it says their phone system is in a test mode. I have heard that message for over 6 months now... They changed our move date, they moved it up, saying they would be at our apartment between 11a-2pm, and they didn't show up until 9:30pm. They were loading up until 1am and didn't let us change the date/time. Everything is done on their schedule regardless of what you want. We have a 2 month old baby, staying up until 1am was not great.

    They are not upfront with the charges. Each step of the process there is some new fee, they say "all materials to pack everything up is included", but then charged us $200 for "packaging material". We were initially quoted $8,000 but it ended up costing us over $12,000. Anything that gets damaged is sent to a 3rd party claims company and boy is that process not user friendly. I could go on with more problems but I won't. This company just takes your money and acts unprofessionally. Don't use them.

    Absolutely garbage experience. Started with a sweet-talking sales guy who totally underestimated everything. They call/schedule at the very end of every window which put us at the end of our timelines at every step. Then at pickup we have an extremely rude mover and suddenly our total is double the estimate. They charged me $500 for tape! It was a joke. They waited to tell me the added costs until everything was on the truck and again being so late on everything meant we had very limited options.

    When I try to schedule my drop off the customer service rep was rude and again they did not follow through on any communications until the end of timeframes. Then with less than 24 hours notice they tack on another $1000 because the driver won’t come into our new neighborhood and they need to shuttle at $1/square foot. This should not have been a surprise since they knew where we were moving as soon as we booked! Our last move we used ABF and paid a local company to load and unload and it was less than 1/3 of what United is costing and the service was 1000 times better. Stay far far away or expect to pay double your estimate.

    If you want your things moved and abused, load your truck at 1 am outside of your quoted pickup window, and delivered in an UNtimely manner, these are the movers for you! They told us when they were coming and moved that time twice to different days when we had flights booked which we had to move resulting in $1K fee to do so, with no reimbursement from the movers. The second time they showed up at 1 am to pick up our things when my husband had to leave for the airport at 4:30 am so he was up over 24hrs. The movers that showed were foreign and spoke in their native tongue to each other to exclude him. Super professional (said sarcastically).

    Then our things sat for 20 BUSINESS days. And were delivered on the 26th BUSINESS day narrowly making the 31 BUSINESS days they try to throw on your bill of lading and is NOT stated on your quote. BEWARE of your initial quote. They will blow so much sunshine and sound like the best movers ever then when you have no choice they bait and switch. For example, they don’t check if they can fit the moving truck to your new home until they are delivering and if they can’t and have to downsize, you have no choice but to foot $1500 to get your stuff. THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN IN CONSIDERATION WHEN QUOTED. United you can do so much better. If you don’t have the system to check it, buy one.

    The only shining light of this company was Lisa in QA, she was more helpful than anyone in customer service. Every single person is an, “Oh well you signed it” attitude. Stuff showed is hard rubbed by something metal, kids beds busted, huge slice in our zero turns seat, missing side of our smoker, busted totes. Your things will be well cared for!

    I don't remember how I came across United Regions but it was like the 3rd company I had called. I checked all their reviews and just had a good feeling about them. Rep I talked to on the phone really made the whole experience simple. Answered every one of my questions and made me feel at ease about how they would be packaging some of our oversized furniture that has sentimental value to me.

    The move was so stress free. They packaged and inventoried everything and put labels on all the boxes.     Customer service was so rude and unprofessional. They hung up on me and when I asked who owned the company, they told me to look it up on Google. My furniture was picked up on May 27 and wasn’t delivered to me until June 26. Lisa in Quality Assurance Assurance was very nice and was helpful to me. However, when my shipment arrived, I emailed her with pictures of the damages to my furniture and there was no response to my email. I plan on sending them the bill for the repairs. I found the entire experience extremely stressful. I would never ever recommend them.

    I happen to have kids who are very particular about their items (toys and all) and us moving away from our old home meant I had to get an exceptional moving company to take care of that.     I don't know who else gets overwhelmed by the idea of packing a box not to talk of a literal house but I was freaking out when the kids and I had to move to where my husband got a new job.     I put a call through to them last weekend when I needed to move my things to a place I found that was closer to where I was working.     Part 1. My experience with Regions Van Lines has been a nightmare! It started out okay, but they got progressively predatorial as time went on. They picked up my household goods in Hemet, Ca., on 4/10/23. They’d given me an initial estimate of around $11,000 total after we’d inventoried everything via telephone and FaceTime. Once the packers arrived and loaded everything, they said it would be a little more than the original estimate, roughly $1,000 more. This, even though I decided not to send a refrigerator, a bedroom set, and washer and dryer that was included in the initial price. Okay, I went along with it, because I didn’t have the capability to measure my goods in square cubic feet, which is the industry’s way of charging customers.

    The plan was that they would pick up my household goods, then store them in a storage facility in Los Angeles, while I would be looking for a home in the Atlanta, Ga., area. After I found a home, I was to call them, let them know I was ready to receive my goods, and from that point they had 17 business days to deliver my goods to my new address. In the meantime, I would be charged approx $768 per month for storage, first storage payment due on 5/10/24. I left California on 4/15/23 headed to Georgia, where I would be living with my younger Sister in Loganville, GA, while I searched for a home.

    When I arrived in 4/20, my sister advised me that a lady named Amanda, from United Regions, had called her a few times wanting to speak to me about money she said I owed them because they had undercharged me, etc., etc. The only reason I gave them my sister's number was in case they couldn’t contact me if they had a delivery issue. When I arrived in Loganville, my sister advised me of the calls made by Amanda, so I called her back, and apparently she had misread something because she (Amanda) advised me that she wanted to confirm some details.

    She told me that around the 10th of May, they would need that first Storage Unit payment of $737.50. No problem. She then asked me had I found a place, and I told her no. She advised me that on 6/10/23, I would have to make another payment for storage. Okay, I understand that. So then she asked me if she should make 6/10/23 the first open date for delivery, to avoid another storage payment, and I told her we could shoot for that, but I’d call her around that time to let her know. Mind you this is around 4/26/23.

    On 6/10/23, Saturday afternoon around 1pm, I get a call from a gentleman, I believe his name was Victor, with a heavy Asian accent, telling me he wants to deliver my household goods on Sunday, the next day, and he needed my address. At this point, I’m in the closing process on my current home, but I don’t have the keys. I asked him where was he calling from, and he said he was in Texas. I asked him why didn’t they call me before loading my stuff in Los Angeles to see if I was able to receive my goods, and all he kept saying was “You signed contract, you signed contract!” He stated that I should have the $4000 plus, in Postal Money orders, at the time of delivery, So I tried to explain that, I was scheduled to close on Monday, June 12th.

    Also, the post office here in Conyers close at noon, so just popping up without calling was a bad idea. He said he couldn’t wait, so I guess he called someone in dispatch, Kira, and she asked for my address, so I gave it to her. She said, "If you have an address, we should be able to deliver your goods." I asked her if they could wait until after I closed on the property on Monday, at 1pm. She said it didn’t work like that, so I told her that, according to their policy, if they can’t make the delivery, for whatever reason, they would place the household goods in a storage unit within 20 miles of my address, and I would have to pay the remaining $4012 at the time I picked up my goods, as well as whatever storage fees were accumulated while my goods were at said storage unit. However, now I get a call from one of their facilities in Florida, from a dispatcher named Torrie, who said the driver needed to drop my goods off, was there anything I could do.

    I called my realtor, and he called the homeowner's realtor to see if they could give me the keys a day earlier, on the 11th, since we were closing on the 12th. The realtor and the owner said no, because of the liability involved if one of the delivery men or myself got injured. I told Torrie this, and she said I had 2 options. I could pay an extra $1000 per night to the driver for staying over, or they could take my goods to a storage unit within 20 miles of my home and unload it there. I told her I refuse to pay this guy $1000 because they just showed up without advance notice. She then asked if I would agree to $500; again I said No. In the meantime, this driver, who is still in Texas asks me again can he drop the goods off on Sunday. I said no, and as I was trying to explain, he shouted “You signed contract!” and hung up the phone!

    Approximately 30 mins later, I get a call from the Florida office, this time it’s Torrie’s supervisor John, who tells me that I could either pay $900 per night, which I said no, and he asked me “How about $500"; he then reminded me that Torrie had offered me the same deal (she actually said $1000), and I said No, so he said what they would do would reload my goods at a storage facility, and it would cost me an additional $2500 to redeliver it. Torrie related to me that they would on occasion provide a 24-48 hour courtesy period for these types of situations; but I guess I didn’t qualify for the “courtesy” period. In the meantime, the driver called again, and as I was talking to him, he says “yea yea yea”, and hung up on me a second time! Torrie called again, and I told her about the driver hanging up on me, our communication problem, etc.

    The driver then texted me, called me a liar, and stated he never threw the phone at me. Of course, I never said he threw the phone at me; he’s in Texas and I’m in Georgia. They called approximately 14 times between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Torrie said that the driver would go by the address I’d given them to show that I wasn’t available to accept my goods, take a picture of the house as proof he showed up, then would drop my goods off at a storage unit. Fine.

    I closed on my property at 2805 Bridle Path on that Monday, June 12th. I called United Regions on 6/13/23 and talked to Kira, told her I was in my house and would like to set up a delivery date. She stated she didn’t know where the driver was at this point, only that he’d left Georgia. She reminded me that they had 17 business days to redeliver my goods. She said that in the meantime, I needed to pay them $368.75 for a half month of storage, which I paid. I called United Regions on 6/19, 6/20, 6/21 and on 6/22/23 to check on the status of my delivery. Each time I was sent to voice mail. Each day I asked them to call and update me. Never got a return call.

    On 6/22/23, after I got the recording, I had my sister call on her cell phone, and Kira picked right up. My sister asked her about my goods, and she told her they were waiting on a semi truck to become open, and they would deliver them. I called United Regions on 7/3/23, talked to Kira and asked her about my goods. She said she had to check with her dispatchers, who were all out to lunch (this was about 3:15pm), and she would call me back. She stated that their 17 business days would not be up until 7/7/23. She never called me back, and today is 7/7/23. I’ve had to buy furniture and other household goods that I already have, wherever my household goods are. They won’t tell me, and they’re being very evasive. I understand that I’ll have to seek a legal remedy at this point. Request any assistance or referrals you can give me at this point, Thank you!

    We hired United Regions Vanlines to pack and move our belongings to our new home 1800 miles away. We looked at several companies, reading reviews and United Regions sounded very professional and was less expensive. The early process with the salesman to discuss the move, obtain a quote, establish load size and moving date was all good. The moving van arrived on time; however, the driver was alone, and it was several hours before he found someone local to help him pack and start the loading procedure. The packing and loading took four days and much of the time there was just a "one person crew". The driver told us the moving van would arrive at our destination in 3 days. So we rushed to get there on time. The movers left all the remaining boxes and trash on the driveway and said they would return and haul it away. It was never picked up and the new owner had to dispose of it.

    We arrived at our new home on time but there was no contact from the moving company. After numerous attempts, we were able to reach United Regions dispatch and were told our load was still in our city of origin and we’d be contacted when they found a van to make the delivery. I told them their driver had told us he would be there in 3 days and that we needed to be there for delivery. They responded that we never should have listened to THEIR driver. Little did we know this was just the beginning of our nightmare. Getting through to anyone on the phone was nearly impossible but we attempted each day to get a delivery date with the same response each time: “We’ll contact you as soon as the load is shipped!”

    After 3 weeks of hearing that, out of the blue a driver called us and said he was 100 miles away and would deliver our goods the following day. I won't even go through all the red tape we had to go through just to get them to start unloading the van, but it was not at all what we had been told or expected. We tried to open boxes as they were unloaded but so many of the boxes were not labeled and we were unable to keep up. When they finally finished with the unloading, our garage was full of unopened boxes! The movers came in with the load manifest and asked us to sign, acknowledging we had received all of our load.

    Considering we had only been able to open about half of the boxes, we had no way of knowing if we received all of our belongings and did now want to sign. They informed us if we did not sign, we would lose all rights to file a claim if anything was missing or broken. We got their supervisor on the phone. He assured us that we were simply signing that we had received the load and would have 6 months to file a claim for anything we discovered missing or damaged. He told us to write on each page that we understood that we had this time period to take care of damaged or missing items. We did this and signed.

    Once we finished unloading the boxes we discovered that we were missing a large number of items and had several damaged goods. We contacted United Regions customer service and were told they could not do a search for our missing items until we filed a claim. We were told we could only file one claim and did want to wait to file until we knew if anything more was missing but were needing so many of our missing items that we filed the claim to begin the process. We had to itemize the missing items and locate them online to establish a value. It came to over $5000.

    Throughout the year we discovered many additional missing items but could not file another claim. The claims company sent us an offer for $16.00 for the damaged items and nothing for the missing items as we had signed the manifest that said we had everything! Needless to say we were furious! Our other option was arbitration which we pursued. We paid $250 to the arbitrator board to begin that process. The arbitration board ruled in our favor for compensation and still United Regions drug their feet. However, through continued pressure we did receive compensation from them. We have moved many times and had never had any issues. This was clearly our WORST MOVE EVER!

    From salesman's promises to poor customer service, this is not what one expects or should receive from a professional moving company. Salesman said my goods would be stored locally (near Cleveland, Ohio) until there was a delivery date and address in Alabama. That was not true. My goods were in Chicago.

    When the men came to pick up my goods in Ohio I told them that everything they were taking were family heirlooms and asked them to be particularly careful. Minutes later I saw one of my boxes fall off the tailgate of the truck!

    Months into the storage period I received a call from a woman in Arizona. She had moved from Chicago and in her delivery were three of MY boxes. When customer service finally returned my calls and emails, I heard "don't know how that happened." When it was time to schedule the delivery, I emailed United Regions with the delivery address and subsequently spoke with two different people. I asked them to confirm my Alabama delivery address and they did in writing.

    Nearly 10 days later I heard from the delivery driver that he would be delivering my things to Florida. There was never mention of a delivery to Florida. I provided the customer service people the Alabama address and closed my email with my name and HOME address and telephone number. The goods were never to be delivered to my home.

    The customer service people told me that I would be charged $600 more for temporary storage and redelivery. The driver told me that my goods had never been out of his truck from the time he picked them up in Chicago. I have moved long-distance and even stored goods before delivery 6 times in my life. This was by far the worst experience. I feel there is no integrity in the company. Moving is stressful regardless. This group of people made it much more stressful and expensive than it needed to be.

    Furniture arrived with what looks like mildew which should not have happened in a climate-controlled environment, as was represented. Many of my boxes are terribly crushed. I simply don't have the heart this morning to open them to see what condition the contents are in. If you are looking for a moving company, I strongly urge you to find one which cares and delivers on their words. United Regions Van Line (based in Columbus, Ohio) does not do this.

    Updated on 06/27/2023: After my previous review, which the company replied back to via this website stating that they had “scheduled our delivery for the following week” (which would be this current week as the pickup was Wednesday of last week) I called customer service as instructed to do if I had any more questions. I did. I was never provided any delivery date or window whatsoever. Talking to Lisa again, she told me that the delivery has NOT been scheduled, and that they have no idea who was writing these replies (which… very troubling considering they apparently have access to my contract details and signed the response “United Regions Van Lines”), but that there is no scheduled loading or delivery date yet and they don’t even know when they will have a truck available to transport all of our belongings.

    So. More lies from this awful company, which is terribly consistent with our entire experience. She also let me know that Phillip, the salesperson who lied to me to get the contract signed and likely his commission paid out, is no longer with the company, meaning they probably listened to his calls with me and let him go based on his lies to customers. I wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone. Ever.

    Original Review: WARNING. DO NOT USE. THEY CONTINUOUSLY LIE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. So far this has been the worst moving experience of any move I’ve ever made, and I’ve moved 12 times in the last 15 years. No one at this company gives accurate information, the salesperson, Phillip, outright lied about the type of truck they would use (which ended up costing us $2000 more than the original quote and at that point it was too late to find another company to make our move dates work) and set expectations for a completely different timeline than what is actually happening. Vic, the pickup crew leader lied about dispatch scheduling things the morning after pickup - dispatch STILL has absolutely no idea what window we should expect all of our belongings in.

    Lisa, in quality assurance (which I can assure you is the opposite of quality) also set expectations for a swift delivery, then changed our pickup date to a day earlier than the promised pickup window. And Amanda, the supervisor, is insinuating that everything is our fault for not understanding what the contract said, when all along the way, every single person has lied to us about what to expect. In fact, I DID read the quote and asked the questions which garnered me the lies from their representatives based on that.

    I even found an insanely major typo in their bill of lading that, if we had signed, could have put us on the hook for 1,100% the cost of the move. I got that fixed before I signed it because clearly attention to detail is not something they take seriously. The only positive thing I can say at this point is that the 4 guys working the pickup were good. If this gets sorted out satisfactorily and very soon, I will HAPPILY update this review to reflect that.

    When I was first contacted by their salesperson he was able to see the contents of my house as it listed for sale and the realtor had photographed it. We went over almost every item that was to be moved and since I am disabled they were to do all the packing and unpacking. His quote was "19,000." After they loaded the price kept going up and they would only take cash or money order. Now I know why; because there is no way to go back on them. Bottom line is that when they finally delivered my belongings 20 days later they wouldn't unpack or reassemble items, they damaged many items, some were missing and I ended up paying over $30,000.. And now they won't respond concerning the damaged and missing belongings. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy.

    This is a company everyone should be aware of the shady business practices. Sales tells you one thing. Quality management tells you another, then the drivers have yet another agenda. They ask for cash on pickup and delivery as they say cashier's checks are unsecured and stop payment can be made. This is a lie! Cashier's checks are quite secure and this is a poor excuse. They finally picked up my furniture and never called for drop off. Sales is not answering phone or text messages, quality management phone rings but no one picks up and doesn’t go to voicemail. I have no idea where my furniture is and we are 2 days past agreed delivery time. Driver also is not answering phone.

    I want to share that the packing services offered by United Regions Van Lines aren't free and might not seem as cheap as you'd think. But, based on my previous experiences when I packed myself (which resulted in damage to my items), I decided to give their professional packing services a try. I mean, I'm trying not to be a control freak, right? So, I asked United Regions to do the packing for an extra cost. And guess what? Nothing was damaged. You might say it's luck, but let me tell you, I've moved more than 7 times in the past 10 years and there was always something I didn't like about each move. But this time? I was genuinely pleased with the service. So if you're considering their packing services, I'd say it's worth it.

    The pricing was misleading, they showed up late and didn't finish until 1230am, and customer service blamed us for the end price being 2x the estimate. Do not use this company. Our final price was $10k more than our initial estimate. We did a Zoom call and a phone call to inventory our house, however when the packers showed up they were surprised at the amount of things we were shipping. We have noticed on the bill we were charged extra for items that were originally included in the estimate. To make things worse customer service was very unapologetic and blamed the entire thing on us, noting that we should know how to estimate how much space we need on a truck.

    What an eye-opener my moving day turned out to be! I initially received an estimate from this company that seemed quite fair, but imagine my surprise when the final bill was significantly higher.     In May my elderly mother moved and used this company. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to anyone. #1 The company called and stated that the movers would be there on Monday. Not 10 minutes after that call the drivers called and wanted to show up on Saturday, that was not acceptable. So, they agreed on Monday. Monday comes around and lo and behold the drivers did not show up. So finally heard from someone and we were told that they would show up on Tuesday, and they keep this date. The drivers were in a 26 ft truck. The quote was for about 1300 cubic feet. After loading the truck the drivers said that there was over 1800 cubic feet. Not possible because a 26ft truck only holds 1700 cubic feet.

    Mother was told originally that the truck may not deliver on the other end for a few days. To our surprise the drivers said that it would be delivered the next day. Lo and behold that's an extra charge, not originally figured in the estimate. Then we had to scramble to make sure some on was on the other end to receive the truck. So when it arrived, the truck was measured and pictures were taken. The truck was not full, and was not adequately, packed. So, my elderly was WAY overcharged, like close to $6000.

    We asked for a total on several occasions will the movers loaded. They stated they could not tell us anything until the end of the load. Sad things is this company could care less. Also, the driver claimed to have used 33 rolls of tape. I helped to pack the house and we never even came close to that many rolls. Just be aware of what you are getting into with this company. They will take advantage of you and try to make you look like an idiot. Also their payment process is very sketchy.

    This was the worst experience ever for my elderly mother. They took complete advantage of her and scammed her out of $6,000.00. They are liars and manipulators. They are dishonest and when confronted about it, Amanda, in customer service, talked over me the entire time and yelled "Did you read our contract?" and then hung up on me.     Pickup was rescheduled then they showed up on a different day with 2.5 hours notice. They were extremely slow, I made them leave after more that 12 hours and after 1 AM. It seemed their only goal was to fill the truck, they packed anything not bolted down. I was told they wouldn't be packing anything. My household goods have been held hostage for close to a week now since the estimate was so grossly under and the price increased so much that the 60% of the estimate that I had at pick up was less than 60% of final amount and United won't accept any normal manner of payment. United takes payment like a black market weapons dealer. Customer service representatives are extremely rude and condescending on the phone.

    This review is a direct comparison between URVL and the company we used initially moving to CA. After shopping around, we initially went with URVL because they offered 8k lower than the competitors, and included some additional bonuses for same day sale. All was fine until day of pickup, when the workers walked in and were immediately pissed off, telling us we had way more stuff than they were led to believe. They redid the estimate, and added that 8k we thought we were going to save back on.

    Their packing was a mess, just tossing things into boxes regardless of how delicate they were as long as it wasn't glass or dishware. They packed items that were strictly labelled "DO NOT PACK", they packed all of our perishable food even when I was told they wouldn't, and I even found bags of trash in boxes while I was unpacking. We noticed multiple points of damage in the walls and scuff marks around the doorways. When they finished, paying them became difficult as they only accepted Zelle, cash or money order, and since they finished after banks closed, we only had the zelle option, which has a daily limit. Finally worked it out where we paid as much as we could at the time and zelle the rest as soon as we were able.

    Then, we paid for the expedited delivery, in which I was told by their salesman, Allen, that it would guarantee delivery date of my choosing as long as we give them enough time beforehand. So I drive across the country to meet them there at that date, and they don't show up. I call and find out they won't be there until a week later, and needless to say I was agitated, but they have a clause in the contract where if it falls past 6 days of the initial delivery window, the expedited fee will be refunded.

    A week goes by and I finally get the call they will be arriving, and I ask how we get the refund, and they say we will get the 50% refund shaved off of the remaining payment. Confused, I pull up the contract and point out the clause, to which they say they are only in the slightly delayed window that grants a 50% refund. After some back and forth, I find that the reestimated contract we signed changed the delivery window to a week later, done so without telling us. Again, they make paying them difficult, as they refuse to accept wire transfers or checks unless we complained enough.

    Upon unloading the truck, many boxes were unlabeled and nothing on the delivery sheet was numbered for me to reference to. The workers had to open the boxes to see what was inside and I had to tell them where to put each. Reassembling one of my desks resulted in notable, visible damage to the frame that fortunately doesn't impact it's sturdiness. They were unable to reassemble my bedframe, as the screws were packed separately, so they left after all was finished. After unpacking every single box, I noticed many tools and the like were missing, notably all of the screws and washers for the bed, which now lies as a pile of wood in our bedroom. We additionally found items that were not even ours, which they must have packed by mistake when switching trucks. Their customer service team is apparently just 2 people who kept telling us conflicting information, or never called us back.

    I most definitely do not recommend URVL after what seems like a series of lies and/or false promises made by their sales team, unprofessionalism done by the packing team, and loss of items in transit. Absolutely awful experience.

    Originally I gave this company 5 stars. If I could change that to 0 stars I would. At origin, it appeared that they were packing so carefully. Upon destination, there is so much damage. Furniture was packed for the most part carefully. Kitchen was packed with little damage. My small bathroom cabinet wasn't packed and came in pieces. Garage cabinets weren't even packed and arrived upside down and everything smashed, broken, cracked and missing pieces. My 65" brand new TV was dropped and cracked open and now useless. My 1 year old office desk was cracked open at the back. Brand new dryer has 2 large dents on the side and back. My dog ramp came in unpacked or protected and in 4 pieces. Would not recommend this company. Filing a claim will be a nightmare based on company's information. They don't do their own claims, I must use a contracted company! They are giving me the run-around. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!!!

    Whatever quote they give you, they'll charge you more on the pick-up day. If you don't sign a new contract on the pick-up day, they threaten to leave. If you call the home office on the day of the pick-up to complain, they don't answer your call. The next day when you call to complain, they tell you that you shouldn't have signed the new contract and you should have told the pick-up crew to leave. Because of course that's an option for a family that has planned a move halfway across the country. Just hire a new moving company and reschedule the move and every other facet of your life that you've scheduled to accommodate the move.

    But wait! It doesn't stop there! Before they arrive at your new apartment they call to tell you that their truck won't be able to access the loading dock there and they will have to unload your belongings and load them onto a smaller truck in order to complete the delivery. And guess what, that's gonna cost you $1 per cubic foot of your belongings (more on the cubic foot thing later). Well, I guess if they've seen the loading dock they know what they're talking about, right? Except they haven't. The driver just said so based on a Google Earth photo he saw (his words). Did they call the apartment to confirm the dimensions? No. But if you say you want them to come and try first, they say no. They say you have to accept the charges for reloading into a smaller truck or they will take it mean that you have refused delivery.

    At that point, they will keep all of the money you have already paid them and will keep your belongings until you reschedule a new delivery, for which they will re-charge you for everything you have already paid. Aaand then, when they arrive, you might notice that the delivery truck (a U-Haul truck) they brought your belongings in looks a bit small, so you Google the cargo space of that particular truck. And when you do, you see that the cargo space of that truck is several hundred cubic feet smaller than what they charged you for. And remember, what they charged you for is several hundred cubic feet more than what you were quoted. So you call the home office. Again. And they tell you that the driver probably has to make two separate drop offs.

    Ok, you say, I'll pay the final balance when he gets back with the second delivery. No, you have to pay before he goes to get the rest of your belongings or, guess what, they will consider you to have refused delivery and keep your belongings and make you pay for everything all over again. So you pay. Because you have to. Because what else are you going to do? Start your new life with zero belongings? Must be nice to be that rich if you can do that.

    And so they unload your stuff, and wouldn't you know it... They don't have to go and get the rest. Because all of it was on that truck. Less than 800 cubic feet of cargo space on that truck, and yet they charged you for 1200 cubic feet. They couldn't even be bothered renting a truck that was big enough to cover the lie they were telling you. And every step of the way, everyone you try to talk to at the company, after the initial salesman of course, treats you with nothing but contempt. They are no help. They transfer you from person to person, nobody offering anything more than threats to take more of your money if you don't comply. In my life, I have never dealt with a business of any kind that is so brazenly and disgustingly underhanded, conniving, and reprehensibly deceitful and immoral as the thieves and liars at United Regions Van lines.

    Client says: Whatever quote they give you, they'll charge you more on the pick-up day.

    Reply: As mentioned in the contract, if there are more items to be moved on the day of pick-up than initially estimated, we adjust the price accordingly. In this case, the client had double the number of belongings compared to their original estimate.

    Client says: If you don't sign a new contract on the pick-up day, they threaten to leave.

    Reply: Like any reputable company, we require a signed contract before proceeding with any service.

    Client says: Before they arrive at your new apartment, they call to tell you that their truck won't be able to access the loading dock there and they will have to unload your belongings and load them onto a smaller truck in order to complete the delivery.     Our reply: We charge for shuttle services when they are necessary for delivery, as stated in the signed contract. In this case, we accommodated the client by unloading their belongings into storage and rescheduling the delivery.

    Client says: At that point, they will keep all of the money you have already paid them and will keep your belongings until you reschedule a new delivery, for which they will re-charge you for everything you have already paid.

    Our reply: This is not true. If the client had paid for the shuttle service during the original delivery, no additional charges would have been incurred, as stated in the contract. All extra charges are clearly outlined in our signed agreement.

    We are a legal, licensed company and do not charge any extra fees without a valid reason.

    Absolutely the worst experience of our lives!! They lied the whole way. Lied about being movers! They are NOT! They lied about the cost. 2.95/ft³ became 10/ft³! 7k quote became 22k, after They held our property hostage to extort us for more money. They stole other people's property and hid the empty jewelry box in our property. Won't answer calls or messages about what we should do with these other folks' stuff. Lisa is a lying and manipulative shrew! She claimed she had no supervisor when we asked to deal with someone who wasn't so combative. Then claimed she had to ask a supervisor when confronted by her other lies. Do NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT USE THESE LYING THIEVES!!!

    We have had to contact the FBI, and multiple state law agencies. They have done this before. This is their business model. Shorting estimates then hammering the customer after they have you under contract. Do not give them money! Do not sign anything!! Once they have the contract they will threaten you with more charges and upcharges that could be more expensive than what we had to pay!!! We are not going to stop until Lisa and her cronies are behind bars! A contract doesn't make it right! They robbed us of our life savings! Cut open tubes stole expensive fishing gear, clothing, artworks, and 750 dollar Mackie Mixer, denying my ability to work! Stole reels, packed guitars upside down, and broke the neck on my 1500 dollar acoustic!! Worst people on the planet!!!

    Claimed our load was 2000ft³. But delivered in a truck that was less than half full, and only 23 feet long. 1350ft³ is the capacity of a 23 foot uhaul. How do you fit 2000ft³ into a space that holds 1350ft³? How do you in good conscience just rob people of their savings, because you got your feelings hurt when you were confronted about trying to scam us!? They blamed it on me, because I got mad about them trying to charge me more! What was I supposed to do? Just let them rob me, and not say anything!? Again, we bought a house and thought life was gonna be great, then we met these scam artists and they ruined everything!! Whoever is missing Jewelry from a move on or about the middle of February? Reach out. Your green graduation pin is in the box, still.. they took everything else.

    This is an honest review of my experience when I hired these guys to move me out of my 2 bedroom apartment in Knoxville, TN and into a 3 bedroom house in Monroe, NJ. First of all, the price. They are not cheap. On the other hand, their work is at a level that you would typically expect from premium moving companies. Number two, they are reliable. I did not have a single issue of receiving incorrect or outdated info from them. We were kept fully apprised of the location of our things in transit at all times. Thirdly, they are very skilled in customer service and make you feel like a king. Overall, a very good company. 5 stars.

    Seems that this company is in fact the best option for anyone looking to move homes in 2023. I was unsure about that before my move as I felt that their prices were slightly too high. Now, though, when I compare the work they did on my move from Akron, OH to Hampstead, NC, it seems that I was mistaken and they are really worth every penny that they charge. For one, they abide by all the instructions you give them. They also take a lot of care when moving your things. The vehicles they use are well-maintained and the cargo area was clean and dry (despite the recent rain). I would hire them again.

    Everything about the process was unsatisfying. The worst was communication with United Regions Van Lines. I would not recommend using them. They did not have professional moving vehicles. I was told we would need an 18 wheeler and instead divided our move into two trips with two smaller trips.

    The absolute worst. Gave me a price over the phone and then doubled it when they got to my house. Also did not show up to deliver on the day I was told. Do not use them ever!!!! I can’t give them zero stars but I would if I could.

    I shudder when I think about how much money I have thrown out the window using other moving companies before I came across this one. Seriously, I find it amazing how a moving company can offer such great deals when other companies are making us pay such crazy prices. If you have balked at the sight of your moving bill before, you know what I am talking about. You'll get none of that nonsense with these people. They give you the best balance of cost and quality that I have personally ever seen. I was moving from Memphis, TN to Cincinnati, OH and this company charged us about two-thirds of what other companies quoted me. Insane!

    We have been hiring this company over and over again for more than 10 years, and giving them 5 star reviews all the way. They just don't give us a reason not to! For me, the Main reason is that they always stay true to their quotes. Sure, there are minor variations but it is in the 1-2 percent range, which is just normal. I've heard horror stories of people using other companies and the final bill being 11,000 or more higher than the original quote! Never in all this time has these guys ever done anything remotely so devious or dishonest. Instead, the vibe I get from them is all clarity, honesty and professionalism. You should hire them.

    Given a 4 hour window…movers arrived 5 hours after the end of the window. Movers barely spoke English and couldn’t explain paperwork or charges. Even though I reduced the amount of items moved from the estimate, cubic feet used came out EXACTLY the same as estimate (jmpossible). The movers truck was breaking down and they were late delivering. Offered no discount or refund whatsoever even explaining situation to customer service. Customer service reps are terse and rude. Would never use again.

    This feels like the start of a beautiful friendship.     5 star work by a very good moving company. It was a breeze of a move with their very talented team of movers handling the job. This is the second time that I have hired them for a move and it happened to be raining quite heavily when they were packing and loading in New Orleans. The moving crew took the situation in its stride. Before I knew it, they had set up a little covered walkway between our porch and their van, virtually eliminating the risk of any of our things getting wet. When I asked them how they knew, they said they always keep track of the weather, etc. so their customers are happy, Hey, I couldn't agree more!
