I purchased last year in June a Midea portable A/C unit from my local Costco at around $500 and only used it briefly and stored it away for the winter. This year 2026, I brought it back out to use during the summer months and this past July it stopped working because of an internal failure. The unit sounds like some of the condenser welds broke and all of the refrigerant hissed out. Of course this happens when it's very hot and humid. This unit has only run for a bout 6mos total since ownership, clocking in about 360 hrs, and its already broke; what a joke. I contacted Midea through email and responded to them quickly and gave them proof of purchase pics, etc.

Whatever they wanted to try and get a solution because I have an infant in my house and it's my priority to keep them cool and safe. Midea does not care, took their sweet time to respond to me to basically say that I'm SOL and on my own because the warranty has expired, just shy of it being after a year, like two weeks past. This is something that failed internally, not anything I did. I cleaned the Filter a few times, not at their recommended 250hrs; cleaned it, made sure it was drained, and stored it in a clean temperature room when not in use. This is what I get, and expesinve a/c unit that is now a paperweight and useless customer service and the worst warranty a product can have. Never will buy again any products they make, stay away and spend your money somewhere else. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Worst customer service ever. The warranty is a scam. They will do everything not to honor it. It was installed with a broken hot surface indicator light. We purchased it Feb 7 for one of our rental properties. During the time that it could’ve been covered by the store we purchased from, my FIL was dying of dementia and a month passed. At that point I had to contact them to have service done for the light. Which was fine. Completely understood.

When I contacted them, they told me they needed a copy of my receipt, model number and the serial number. I sent them the copy of the receipt and it had the model number and serial number on it. They then contacted me and said that was not enough. I called them back, explained to them that it’s at a rental property. I’m physically not there. They said that it was OK to just resend the information and type in the model number and the serial number, pull it from the receipt and that is good enough. I did that, I received an email saying that I would be getting a call about a service.

Two days later, I received a text message from a local service place saying that they needed me to send them a picture of the model number and serial number for the service. I said that I had already sent all this information in. I didn’t understand why it needed to be sent for a third time. They told me they couldn’t move forward unless they had the information. I explained that I had already sent that information. I said, "Can I send you a copy of the receipt? It’s on there. I can send you the numbers, but I do not have pictures." I explained the situation.

They said they’re canceling the service because they need pictures and they can’t move forward. Long story short I sent information to them five times. On the sixth time they told me that they were gonna fix it. Three days later I get an email saying they needed a video before they could move forward. At that point, we removed the stove from the rental property and took it to the junkyard, even though it was only two months old. Went and purchased a Whirlpool instead.

They are running a scam and I should’ve paid attention more to the reviews about the customer service. In the economy we are living in right now this company should be ashamed of themselves. This is supposed to be a budget, friendly appliance company. Do you have any idea how many people purchase these appliances thinking that they’re getting a quality appliance and a good warranty? They are thinking that the company is going to uphold what they have promised when they purchase these appliances. It’s disgusting. Never purchase anything from this company. You will absolutely regret it.

No. Lid broke in first 6 months and could not find replacement. Washer still worked so I accepted the money offer and kept it. In my third year with it and like others are experiencing it won't stop filling even after it turned off. I finally just turned off water and turned washer on a spin. Worked fine the next time but then the same thing and loud screeching now water on floor. Not very old. Maybe four years.

Take our advice and do not buy any appliance from Midea. It is like a scam. WE LOST OUR MONEY. I bought a new dishwasher that did not work properly and was going a fire to our house. I contacted MIDEA customer service right after we installed this MIDEA dishwasher, I explained the problem and told them that this is a new dishwasher not even a day old. The customer service replay was that they are not who do the decisions on replacing a defective item, they told me their job is to take the complaints only and the decision comes from somewhere else after 3 business days, after 3 business days, they decided to send a repair man who is located in Fresno, CA and we are in Orange County that means it is 250 miles away and this repair man cannot come to Orange County CA. Until he has enough customers.

Here we are stuck with no dishwasher for weeks or maybe months and MIDEA real decision makers about the warranty are hiding somewhere in this world. We lost our money because the store said no returns, you must deal with the MIDEA warranty manufacture and the MIDEA manufacture said you must deal with the service man and the service man said we are located too far he cannot come to us. Today we are going another Dishwasher from a reputable brand name manufacture. NEVER AGAIN MIDEA.

This purchase was a huge mistake, my combination washer dryer from Midea is 6 months old and I'm about to replace it. The reason is service, it is the worst. I am a 70 year old man with arthritis and pertinent to this story vertigo. My machine stopped working a week ago mid cycle, it is full of water and what started that day as towels, I'm not sure they would be towels after sitting in water for a week. I have tried to get a repairman in, I will even accept this could be my fault, no local company will touch the machine because it's on warranty, at every step of the way Midea has tried to slow the process down with requests for a photo of the serial number, which is on the back of the machine, against the wall. Again I am seventy with severe rheumatoid arthritis and at the second time at a new level in the process I have been asked for this photo!

I cannot shift this machine around. It is heavy by itself but now it is full of water. There is means to empty it but it is by a 2 or 3 inch hose at the bottom of the machine, this is where the vertigo comes in. I have drained the machine twice. It is difficult because the hose has to stay low. I can't do it a third time. This is in my opinion the worst company I have ever dealt with, I thought cell phone companies were bad but they are angelic compared to Midea, so I am about to spend 1600.00 dollars to get a new machine.

My experience with Midea has been nothing short of infuriating. Their customer service is, in my opinion, one of the most useless support systems I’ve ever encountered. Reaching someone takes forever, and when you finally do, you get scripted answers, no accountability, and zero actual solutions. It honestly felt like I was talking to people who had no idea what they were doing and didn’t care to find out.

Their warranty program? Completely worthless in my experience. They advertise coverage, but when you actually need help, you get stonewalled with delays, excuses, and a never-ending runaround. It felt like they were doing everything possible to avoid honoring it. The parts and servicing situation was somehow even worse. Disorganized, painfully slow, and handled with what came off as total incompetence. Every step felt like pulling teeth just to get the most basic information or progress. Overall, dealing with Midea has been one of the most frustrating and miserable consumer experiences I’ve ever gone through. I walked away feeling angry, ignored, and completely done with this company. I would never recommend Midea to anyone, save yourself the stress and choose literally any other brand.

This is our first time dealing with Midea & this will be the last. Bought a freezer 09/09/24 from Lowes. 07/03/25 there was water coming from the freezer & when we opened it, water came flooding out. We had to throw way almost everything in the freezer. Apparently Midea can fix it within the 1st yr of purchase, however we don't have the receipt. We ask Lowe's to provide a copy but they only can retrieve 6 months of receipt. They did provide a screenshot of our purchase. It has the amount, the date it was purchased & model number & invoice number. We provided that to Midea and it was not accepted. This is what happened for 3 weeks. They tell me a case number has been issued. I email them saying Lowe's cannot provide a receipt.

The next day Midea says since you haven't responded we will close ticket. 2 days later email saying we are still waiting to hear from you case # __ has been opened. 2 days later email saying ticket closed. This went on for 3 weeks while I was on vacation. Midea could be delaying this process till 09/09/25 so that they are no longer accountable to any repairs or damages. Over 1 month trying to get this fixed. This has been such a horrible experience. I've sent 15 emails & spoke to 6 different people on the phone. We just wanted a new freezer or at least have it fixed. That is no longer an option.

We want our money back. Their products may be good but ours was defective. Don't want to bad mouth their products since we are not familiar with them but this process really sucked. Midea even spoke to Lowe's Manager on the phone & email and still won't accept what was provided. Never will we ever buy another product from Midea. Such horrible, horrible service to have to keep pleading our case.

I bought a Midea washer and dryer set in November of 2024. As of July of 2025 the washer no longer works due the water pump going out per repairman. Customer service was horrible while dealing with this issue that came with a two year warranty. I had to call customer service after two weeks of waiting for warranty repair to find out that they could not get new water pump. Now I have to wait on them to approve a new washer.

Once I receive the approval for new washer I have to pay to transport broken washer to store and pay again to have new washer delivered. Between the cost of going to laundry facility and costs of getting new washer this purpose has cost enough to buy another washer from a different brand. I absolutely do not recommend this product. Dryer stopped heating after using it for two months. Did not immediately use it after purchase because my old dryer was still working. I am currently waiting on repairman to come out to repair dryer. I do not recommend this product.

Top-load washing machine was giving balance errors non-stop when only a couple weeks old. Took about a week and they replaced the balance sensor... Has been okay since (occasional error, but previously was 8 out 10 loads would error out and have to re-rinse 3 times before the error stopped the machine). Dryer - love the features and function, but after less than 7 months the front felt seal tore out (seams there's a weld mark or dent on the drum ridge that cause it to wear prematurely)... Have been waiting 3 weeks to get a repair... and still waiting.

One tip - when looking at top-load washing machines, try moving the drum side-to-side by hand... You'll notice the Midea moves way too much because they're missing a stabilizer strut that other brands have. Spend the extra $50 and get an LG... Don't regret your long-term purchase like I am. Previous Frigidaire set was 25 years old and still functioning and I wish I still had them.

I paid someone to come look at it and they told me the motor had went out!!! I will never buy another Midea product in my life and I advise no one else to do so either. Now around Christmas time I need a new dryer. Everyone needs to get together and sue the heck out of this company! Ridiculous!

If you are thinking about purchasing the Midea washer DON'T DO IT. I purchased a washer and dryer set about 2 years ago and the washer is joke. I've had problems with it from day one. When I went washer/dryer shopping a salesperson at Lowe's showed me the Midea Set and said it was a good brand. I was impressed with the large tub on the washer. I thought it would be nice to wash more clothes at one time. About a week after I made the purchase the washer started acting up. It would get off balance during the spin cycle and then kick error code E3 or E4. Within the first month I had a repairman come out twice. He supposedly replaced a part and told me that I probably wasn't using the right load settings.

2 years later I'm still having the same issues but I came to realize that when I have a big load it doesn't get off balanced and the load spins with no problem. But if I wash sheets or have a smaller load it still gets off balanced and kicks one of the error codes. It can take all day to get a load to spin and finish or I often get off tired of trying to get it to spin and I end up squeezing the water out of the clothes with my bare hands. At this point I am tired of dealing with it. And as soon as I am able, I am purchasing another brand and I'm taking the Midea washer to the dump. I won't even consider giving it away because I wouldn't want to put the burden on someone else.

I highly suggest NOT purchasing washer or dryer. Nothing but issues washer will go off balance and after many phone calls and e-mails you will be told no one in your area will service Midea products. They cannot get parts. You will be told they will call you back they won’t I do not know after reading all of these reviews how this company is in business. I will tell everyone not to purchase they will come up with any lie and will not honor warranties!! Beware pay a little more for a better product.

BUYER BEWARE! Electric dryer purchased in December 2022 is already not drying. Had to call a repair person to come and fix it, Control Board is bad and needs to be replaced. It is costing over $200 to fix and Midea will not cover the cost. This is what I get for going "cheap" but never again!

MIDEA washer lid broke 3 years in a row. The hinges keep breaking. Poor design. MIDEA will no longer replace. Do not buy a MIDEA appliance. Customer service the worst. Suppose to get 3 month extended warranty. They won’t honor it.

I have a washer that's two years old and it's junk! The lid is broke and I sent for a new lid. A hundred dollars later I still don't have the right parts to fix it! No one wants to know anything! I can't use it at all. I have to go to the laundromat. Not at all happy!
