I purchased an LG air conditioner with heating June 6 installed it. We ran it maybe 67 days and now it won’t cool. I have been working with their customer service for over three weeks. I have the receipt I’ve taken pictures. I’ve been called by various people various texts, they’ve been giving me various case numbers and here today August 19 and it’s still not resolved. I live in Texas. It’s like 102 for the past couple of weeks the service is extremely really poor. First they say they get a tech out here then they send a warranty guy out here who walked around. It turned it off and on five minutes he’s gone said it didn’t work no kidding. I do not recommend this product. I’m very disappointed with their customer service and I’ll update if I ever get this resolved.

I bought 2 air conditioners LG and after 2 month one of them doesn’t cool. So I call lg customer service and I file a claim and give them the receipt show that was brand new and pic of the serial no. They ask me to cut the serial no half and then they call me to verify the purchase. So they call Best Buy and they verify that was brand new not open box. They promised me replacement and they call me again they said they will escalate the case to upper management. Till now no answer over 2 month.

I regret buying an LG portable AC unit. For one, it was missing a part that connects the exhaust hose to the rear of the AC unit. Trying to get LG to send the part was a nightmare. They had the audacity to try and charge me nearly $40 for a part they forgot to pack and is essential to operation. I ended up buying the part on eBay because it was less of a hassle than dealing with LG. After 2 weeks and about 8-10 hours of total operation, the unit failed and will not cool. When it did work, the compressor was excessively noisy. Now I get to deal with LG’s customer service again…and I doubt they’ll help. I have a 65-inch 4 K LG TV and it’s great, but I’ll never buy another LG product after this experience.

I purchased an LG through-the-wall air conditioner, and it arrived broken. I returned it and received a replacement…which was also broken. At that point, I decided I just wanted a refund, but I had already passed the return window while trying to work with LG to resolve the issue. Needing an air conditioner, I purchased a third LG unit, hoping my previous experience was just bad luck. Unfortunately, the third one was broken too. LG customer service was incredibly frustrating. They insisted that a technician could only inspect the units if they were fully installed. These through-the-wall air conditioners are extremely heavy, and after discovering each one didn’t work, I wasn’t about to keep installing and removing multiple defective units just so someone could verify they were broken.

In the end, I gave up and bought a different brand that worked. Meanwhile, I still have multiple heavy, defective LG air conditioners sitting in my living room because I physically can’t carry them down three flights of stairs, and LG has offered no meaningful solution or assistance. Three defective units, countless hours wasted, and terrible customer service. This has been one of the most frustrating customer experiences I’ve ever had, and I won’t be purchasing LG products again.

Reviewing lw10221vsm 10k btu room ac. Second time's a charm? Purchased first LG ac from Home Depot when discounted in March while snow was still on ground so did not install immediately. Unfortunately HD does not accept returns on AC after 7 days. Installed in May to find out it had error code showing low on freon right out of the box. Explained to HD the situation and they did accept it on return. Have had issue getting money back, however. Ordered the same AC a second time. Before installing this one, I plugged it in in the garage and let it run a couple of hours and tested controls to make sure everything worked. Have used it several days now and all seems well. Extremely quiet.

The reason for only a 3 star rating is the instruction manual and the remote. The instruction manual is unclear on some issues and is lacking info on other issues. This necessitated me calling customer service to find answers. Manual does not tell you after turning unit on, it takes a few seconds to start working. It explains the various cycles but does not show a picture of the symbols used on the remote to represent which cycle you are in. Finally, there is a big rubber plug for water drainage on the bottom of the unit which is to be left in place, but removed to let the water drain out. Tells me I need to run outside on humid days to let the water drain out of the unit. Otherwise the water stays in the unit growing mold and bacteria.

Called customer service who stated I could leave the plug out if I was concerned, but I would use more electricity. The remote certainly wasn't built by an Einstein or rocket scientist. It has a very small digital readout screen that cannot be seen without good lighting-I don't want to turn lights on during the night to see. None of the buttons are lit, and unless you know what each button does, your out of luck in the dark. Also every time you push a button, the AC emits a chime. The sound is so low, if you are hard of hearing, (I am) you miss the note. There is no adjustment on sound level. The remote also has an energy saver button. Problem is, if you hit the button more than once, it changes the cycle mode from energy saver to cool--this is not mentioned in instruction manual. A definite redesign of remote is needed. So far so good on actual function of AC.

If I could give a 0 star I would. It’s been a month and a week, I’ve called several times about when and what they were going to do about our 14,000 Btu ac window unit. You get no answers, all you get is so sorry I understand and say you will get a call back in 48 hours. They never call you back and it’s a vicious cycle, stalling and saying I understand we will get back to you in 48 hours. It’s almost laughable. The AC unit is 10 months old and still under factory warranty and Lowe’s will do nothing even though we bought a 3 year warranty, Lowe’s will do nothing until LG factory warranty expires.

Meanwhile it summer time in Oklahoma so we had to go out and purchase another AC unit... We bought a GE ac unit and will never buy a LG product EVER again. All LG customers service does is delay, delay, delay, meanwhile customers are just a number to them with no regard to help fix or replace their product. No one will help with your problems or complaints. First line of tech support has no idea what they are talking about, yet you have to talk to them and their ridiculous questions, that’s if someone actually takes call. Have spent hours trying to get answers. Was told to text my issues and problems to a phone number and never got a response. With all of that they give out my name for service, yet I can get no support. I will never install LG again. By far the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Hello and good afternoon. I am writing this review so other customers know what they are purchasing if interested in this ac unit I purchased. I recently purchased an LG portable ac unit to help the downstairs of my house. This air conditioner works very well and cools cold and fast. But here lies the problem. This unit does not have an energy saving mode therefore it will run nonstop and freeze the room to death. It will not stop running until you turn up the thermostat manually to just run the fan.

Second problem is when you are sitting there and the temperature reaches a higher number in the room than you have the unit set on you have to manually get up and lower the unit temperature for it to blow cold again. This is a very very old technology for a brand new machine. I'm very disappointed that a company as LG has charged a high price for old technology. If you're into having to manually run a unit that costs a lot to cool your house this is the one. If you want a good unit with energy saving mode and better technology do not buy this one. The model # is LP1021BSSM. This is my honest review of LG Portable Air Conditioner.

We walked in to buy 2 air conditioners because we wanted to use out tax exempt certificate and had never set up an account with lowes. Anyway, so they gave us the info to contact LG. LG has been AWFUL to deal with and they LIE about when you should receive an answer/response about a replacement unit. We had to jump thru hoops to even get them to replace it spent an hour plus on the phone. FINALLY got approval for new but can not get information on WHEN replacement will be sent/received. My HVAC tech complains LG tech support is awful, and customer service is no better. While part is under warranty, I will have to pay all labor. I called to complain, and got sent to various numbers. Nobody would give me a way to reach management. So I'll have to say it here: LG, your product and your service suck. Other customers be forewarned. Poor LG customer service and defect in the actual item. Recently I had an issue with the air conditioner that we purchased around a year ago. Because of this, we decided to call the LG customer service department to see if we can find any potential solutions to our problem. I was on call for hours, being transferred to multiple departments that did not address our concerns with the AC unit. When I finally got connected to a representative of the AC unit department, no direct solution was given and instead my time was wasted yet again. I was told to write an email, so I reached out to the Presidential Liaison; they gave me a call which I missed (since I was busy with work), and when I tried to call them back I had to restart the process of reaching the specific department, to which they responded back with a text message saying they have closed the case.

In the end we were only given a 15% discount of any other items from LG. Needless to say I am very disappointed with the approach customer service took and I will not be purchasing any other LG products in the future. Those who are considering working with or purchasing LG products should reconsider, and many other people and I have had a negative experience with this company.

Just purchased the 14000 BTU Smart AC. Not easy to install, as it's quite heavy. You must slide the main unit out of the outer frame (install the frame to the window and then slide unit in), but getting it out was a nightmare. After 45 minutes of frustration and watching a YouTube video to make sure I wasn't do anything wrong, I finally had to take a rubber mallet and a wooden dowel and whack the hell out of the main unit MANY times for it to start moving out (come to find out that the foam inside had been wrinkled/jammed on installation at the factory).

Regular cooling mode works quite well. Low-speed cools efficiently and very quietly. Smart setup w/ Alexa was quick and easy. However, "Dry" mode (which is supposed to dry more than cool) is pretty useless - it turns off/on every 10-30 seconds! No matter what the temp is set to - even 3 degrees below the actual room temp - it constantly powers on/off. The unit almost never stays on for more than 30 seconds (and most of the time it's much shorter).

Updated on 03/06/2024: Just wanted to update my last review… Contacted the BBB. They contacted LG, we went back and forth with wrong departments and wrong numbers for a couple weeks when we tried to contact them. Finally got a hold of the “presidential“ offices, they were supposed to have someone come and look at our units and then they couldn’t get anyone. Here we are 2 months later and they still don’t work.. Did I mention I have 6 units that don’t work. Got my last message from the BBB that they can do no more. Then LG messages me and said they can get no one to fix them, we are on our own. Nice of them… So I froze for 2+months and we are out over $16,000 now.

The only other thing I can do is take the HVAC company that has been trying to work with us, fixing them to small claims court and sue them for our money back and I don’t even know if that will do anything. And yes this is def a real person in the middle of a Pennsylvania winter… Thanks for screwing the middle class! I will never buy any LG product again!

Original Review: We have had mini splits in our house… 6 heads… 2 separate units and have had nothing but problems $15,000+ later! The service techs are always at our house we have had them for 2 yrs and have replaced compressors, control panels, circuit boards you name it. Freon every so many months… Now you would though know they are leaking you would fix the leaks right? Nope! We are in Pa and I’m tired of over $400 electric bills and freezing my butt off! I’ve asked them to just replace them because obviously there is a problem but no they keep coming back and then we get charged $100’s for Freon and labor charges. This is ridiculous. I can’t believe no one stands behind their products these days! Better business bureau is my next step because I’ve had it. We are always sick because sometimes it’s over 80 degrees and the Other times we wake up in the morning and it’s below 50 and freezing!

More promises every day and still NOTHING! Spend your money on another brand!!!

Our A/C went out in our house over a month ago. Tech went out and repaired it (took one week for this to happen) and it was broken again within 48 hours. He came back out and said it needed a complete new unit. (This was another week.) We didn’t receive a new unit for another week because they didn’t order it right away. Received new unit on the 14th - which was delivered on the 14th - in the rain. No one called beforehand like they said they would - so it sat outside in the rain all day. Technicians don’t install the new units - when my husband went to put it in - the new unit was damaged.

I have called/talked on chat EVERY day since then and no one has been able to help me - everyone says they will escalate it and nothing happens - it’s all false promises and lies. For over a week of me calling/chatting - no one ever said we need you to cut the serial number plate off of the unit and send us that picture - it wasn’t until I asked did someone finally say yes that’s what we’re waiting on!!!

Our HVAC installers talked us into the LG VRF technology when we were renovating our historical home. 6 units in all the ceilings, one condensor outside. It never worked 100% and failed every couple of weeks. The phone app to operate them was like something out of a satire. We had to rip out the entire system 18 months later. The installers were inept but they were supervised by LG's factory rep. We could not trust them to fix it, they tried in over 30 visits to the house. I could not even get through to LG to get a factory warranty replacement. This is Houston, in summer, with water pouring from our new ceilings, and I spent DAYS just trying to get in contact with anyone who could honor their warranty directly, having severed ties with the installers.

We were desperate, our home was being damaged, and LG *would not help us*. We ended up ripping it out ourselves, patching all the ceilings, and installing a new conventional system. We lost many thousands of dollars because this technology is not adequately supported in Texas. Run a mile from it, and never look back.

To clarify: In Houston, the most air-conditioned city in the country, LG had no factory rep who would come to our residential home to check the system for a factory warranty replacement. Their Austin factory rep said it was laughable, but he was not allowed to travel to Houston. We had an easy legal case against LG and the installers but we needed to sell our home quickly, so had to resolve it fast ourselves.

My advice is to pay slightly more for better brands like Daikin, enjoy the coolness and most of all, save yourself the pain and frustration of dealing with the poor performing and constantly malfunctioning LG air-conditioning systems from remote controls to PCB boards etc etc...

I have waited over three months for my order to be filled by LG, I placed my order through an reputable online Dealer. The Dealer was very responsive at first, after the order was filled by LG and I paid in FULL they stopped returning my emails. The order was for a Multi F MAX LGRED System w/ four indoor units. The order was drop shipped by LG but I have not received ANY information from LG, all I have is a product shipped confirmation from the Dealer. So this sale is now in the hands of LG and I have no idea where my product is? Where it shipped from? Or how long I will wait for it? The Holidays approach and that may interfere with accepting any freight without prior arrangement for obvious reasons. I have no idea how to contact LG, or how I would reference my order even if I could contact them.

Customer Care with this Company is ridiculously poor, I spent a bunch of money and I am in the Dark on my end. I can't review the product until I get my hands on it. But I can review the Manufacturer and their complete lack of customer Care and communication. I could have purchased something else, I should have, it would be installed by now and I wouldn't be wasting my time writing this out of sheer frustration with LG.

We purchased an LG window unit on 07/15/2020, on 07/23/2021 the LG window unit stopped cooling. A week just after the year purchase, Wow! LG had one of their own technicians (Mauricicio **) come out which he was not able to diagnose the unit. So he said he would call LG to determine what the next step was. He did say that they would possibly refund us or give us a new unit if too expensive to fix. We corresponded with him for about a month in which he continued to tell us that it was still in the process of getting repaired.

After a month and two weeks I called LG to see what the deal was because the technician was no longer responding to us. So when I called LG, I found out that the technician (Mauricio **) sent in his report the same day he first came out to look at our unit and stated to LG that our unit was fine and that it was working well, so the work order was cancelled!!! What!!! Are you kidding me, this whole month and a half he was lying to us? Terrible technician!

After being on the phone with customer service trying to plead my case to them that the technician was wrong and that my work order should not have been closed he finally said I could schedule him to come out again or wait 5-7 days for another tech to call and schedule an appointment. As much as I didn't want the same tech, I went with him anyways cause I couldn't wait another week for a new tech to come out. So they scheduled a second appointment for 09/16/2021. And what do you know, at 10:03am on 09/16/2021, I received an email stating that the technician (Mauricio **) CANCELLED my appointment!!

So immediately we called LG to see what happened, why Mauricio ** had cancelled the appointment and customer service stated that because he had already came out and diagnosed it and he wasn't going to come out again and for us to get another technician. Truth is he just didn't want to face us cause he knew he was lying and in the wrong!

So we had to schedule for a third party tech to come and give a second opinion. The new tech found the issue, a manufacturer defect and reported it in to LG to see what they would like to do. He called us back stating that LG denied it for repair, replacement and or refund, but that if we wanted to call and plead our case to give them a call, so we did and they stated that they are going to go ahead and repair the unit. So we wait and see if LG will stick to their word. If I can say anything, it is this, LG is a terrible company with one terrible technician that I have experienced first hand. They need to fire him. Don't buy LG products or proceed with caution.

This company will not provide any technical support to non-contractors. Their installation manuals are fuzzy and non specific and they offer little to no troubleshooting information online. I bought a system and when it was installed originally 3 of the 4 cassettes did not work. Due to my remote location there are no HVAC technicians anywhere nearby. Ordered three more cassettes, installed, and two of three worked great. Still have one not working. Do not buy one of these.

We installed 4 x LG Artcool Air-conditioners of various sizes from 9000 to 24000 BTU. The compressors have a 5 year warranty. After 1.5 years the covers were showing signs of rust, and after 3 years, all the covers of the compressors were rusted beyond acceptable norms, to the extent of defacing the look of the property. Air conditioner compressors of other suppliers that have been installed in the immediate vicinity do not have this problem.

I reported this issue in detail to the installer with pictures, who forwarded it to LG. LG's representative "Carol" wrote back a one liner "Unfortunately the covers are not under Warranty". The solution offered was to replace the covers at R5500 per cover. As it seems that LG is happy with this standard of product for an outdoor unit that is not treated with an appropriate paint or cover that can last longer for 3 years, I highly suggest you look at alternative vendors such as Samsung, Nashua, Alliance and Luxaire, that do not seem to have this problem of excessive rusting over a short period of time.

LG plays games that amount to a scam. Executive Services department representatives claim to have no authority to implement solutions that they suggest. Executive Services say they will replace a faulty unit through the Rebate Department, then the Rebate Department denies the payment. The Executive Services Department claims they cannot speak directly with the Rebate Department, nor with the other Executive Services "Supervisors" who have worked on the case. The whole process is an endless loop with one department offering a solution and another department denying the solution, and with them claiming they cannot talk with one another.

This portable air conditioner never worked. Recall service was performed on it and the technician wrote "working according to specs" on the service invoice. The unit still never worked to cool air despite the fan running. All related invoices and documents were submitted to LG Executive Services representatives. Executive Services representative acknowledged that because of the recall service being performed without successful repair, the warranty period should be extended. Executive service said I should buy a replacement unit and submit a rebate claim. When I did as I was instructed, the claim was denied by the Rebate Department. Executive Services resubmitted the claim and it was denied again.

The result is that I have wasted a lot of time with LG's scammy Executive Services department, and I have to pay return shipping costs for the replacement unit that LG refused to pay for. LG's response is that, "We understand and agree with your complaint but "unfortunately" we cannot speak directly between our departments to resolve the issue." LG customer service is a scam. Do not buy their products, they do not stand behind them and will waste your time and money if allowed.

Original Review: We purchased the 18000 ductless dual zone units and had them installed 1 year ago. We have had them repaired and parts replaced as they stopped blowing cold air nor did the fans blow. After thousands to buy these and thousands to install now $700 for repairs we are sitting here again with broken units. I am beyond frustrated and just want them out of my house!!!

I purchased LG portable a/c, model number LP1017WSR, from Walmart on 07/02/2019. On 05/03/2020, I filed a warranty claim with LG because the unit leaked all over the carpet. Over the last 4 months, I have talked to LG customer service reps 7 times! After a month and 1/2, I finally was referred for a service call. In July, the 1st repair person was sent out and determined two parts needed replacing. The parts were ordered, but one came in damaged and had to be re-ordered. Two weeks later a DIFFERENT repair person came out to replace the ONE part that was received. However, he did not know how to replace the part. He asked to take the a/c with him so he could research how to make the repair.

We finally heard from the FIRST repair person that the unit was ready to return to us. He was supposed to deliver it on August 24, but he didn't show up and we haven't heard from him. But honestly I have NO confidence that this unit has been repaired correctly and I cannot take the chance that it will leak into the carpet again, as it is located in a rental home.

I called LG again on August 11 and explained all of this to the service rep, Amelia. I also stated that I am tired of dealing with this situation, have no confidence in this product or LG in general and I want a refund of the total amount spent on the a/c unit; $349. She assured me she would send my complaint to the Resolution Unit and I would hear something within 4-5 days. She also said she would PERSONALLY keep track of the status of my request and call me back. After hearing nothing AGAIN, I called and talked to Amelia again on August 18. She said the Resolution Unit had not made any progress on my request. I again strongly stated that I want a refund for this unit and they can have it back! She said she would discuss the issue with her supervisor and promised to call me again within 24 hours.

I finally heard back 2 days later and was told that all LG could do is continue to sent repair people out until one of them tell LG that the unit cannot be repaired. That is the only way for me to get a refund. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I will go to every website I can find to promote the truth... DO NOT purchase LG products because they do not stand behind them.

I stop using an AC in my room. I only have two windows in my room. It made my room dark can’t just lift and take out so on cool nights I just had the one window. Three years ago my son got an LG. He loved it. So easy to use. Has a unit inside and all you need to put in window is the hose. So I got two 3 years ago. Last year bought my niece one. Depending on the size of the room is how you decide which model to get. We all love them. I give it a ten if you don’t have central air.
