I bought my Jenn-Air Glass Cooktop replacement online. BIG MISTAKE. The seller told me I could get it installed by local installers in Buffalo, NY; they gave me a list of local installers. I contacted ALL, and they refused to install anything bought online. Stated that Jenn- Air sales had misled me. I could not find anyone to install my cooktop.

I had to get a local cooktop company to install a completely new cooktop, which I am thrilled with. I tried to have the previous cooktop returned. but the Jenn-Air replacement parts rep directed me to their 1 month return policy ( written in fine print). I pleaded with the rep stating there is an ongoing labor shortage and that we should be given an extension for the return policy, but it was no use. I am now stuck with a new cooktop that is useless to me, sitting in an unopened original box. I want everyone to be careful buying replacement parts online from JennAir replacement; the installers Jenn-Air recommends may be completely inaccurate/ misleading.

We have had our Jenn Air induction cooktop for about 2 years. It has been broken a majority of the time. They will come and fix it, and then the same things happens almost immediately, and then it takes months to order the new part because it is on back order and difficult to get. They have sent and installed a brand new cooktop after our first one broke multiple times, and that one broke as well. This is all after waiting months for parts just to have it break again. Don't put yourself through the hassle. I was cooking our family dinners, lunches, and breakfasts outside on the grill in the middle of snowstorms. Save yourself the hassle.

This gas range has been perfect for our family of 4. Has also successfully gotten us through large family (25 ppl) gatherings. I have it in the center of my kitchen island, it works well for serving buffet style as I can leave the hot items right on the stovetop! Highly recommend!

One year after purchasing this cooktop stove we noticed that the stove was beginning to have tiny bubbles in the black finish and that there were areas that appeared to be losing the finish. The knobs were also losing their finish and the rings between the knobs and the stove had come unglued. I contacted Jenn-air directly and was told that the complaints that I had were no longer under warranty. The stove itself has a 5 year warranty. I was informed that I would have had to report this by 30 days of purchase. Even though the problem wasn't apparent after 30 days and the warranty states defects in workmanship are covered.

They sent me new knobs and rings and they were stainless and not black. They also sent me a cleaner for the stovetop that was never suggested by anyone previously. I had NEVER used anything abrasive on the stovetop anyway. I think that the quality of the product is poor and customer service was lacking. I don't know what has happened to Jenn-air but I always believed that it was top of the line. Now it is owned by Whirlpool. I will never purchase Jenn-air again and will advise anyone else that I know not to purchase from their either.

This stove is nothing short of junk. Sometimes induction pans do not work and others the stove does not work. It was broken the day of install and it took weeks to get the parts. To my dismay, this was only the beginning. I worked in restaurants for many years and sauté is my gift. The issue is all the safety restrictions on the stove. It is impossible to cook well because the burners continually beep and shut off every few seconds when I remove a pan from heat. I paid $500.00 for my pots and pans and the food never comes out right due to the foolishness that comes with induction.

If I did not pay so much for the stove I would have thrown it out my window. Omelets are impossible. Bacon is a nightmare. Sauces are difficult and I burn them a lot because I have to turn the stove down in lieu of just sliding the pan off the burner. Sounds easy? It is not. The controls are difficult to adjust and it takes some time to even understand how it works. As simple as an electric stove is, this induction stove (I do not know about others) is garbage.

Jenn-Air cooktop with three elements has been very reliable and the fact that there are many different elements, such as a grill, makes for good tasting foods. The downdraft exhaust works well and having six cooking elements, three large and three small when all of those installed makes for easy preparation of large holiday meals.

I love that it is glass however, I burned so many pots and pans as well as food as I can only cook on high. I cannot control the intensity as if there is only one setting: High(10) and nothing else even though it should go from 1-10! Be careful with spills, it is not easy to clean and burns leaving a carbon deposit. The downwards vent as designed does not have power so I do not work well.

Love having a Jenn-Air again, these are one of the best ovens. Gives me the old school, country feeling with higher grates to cook things properly and evenly. I love the 5th burner option to keep multiple dishes going at the same time so all food is ready concurrently. I'm most impressed with the way Jenn-Air stoves seem to last forever, durability is always key.

Very hard to clean! Too many parts and heights to maneuver around. I don’t even use the grill as it is so messy and even worse to clean up after. The flame is not very high/hot, therefore, cooking anything takes more time than it should. I do like the downdraft as I don’t have a huge fan overhead to block my kitchen view and to clean!

This gas cooktop was installed less than 2 years ago. It has never worked right. The burners could not be regulated to burn correctly, therefore making it difficult to simmer food. When the downdraft was used it pulled all the heat from the burners and the food just sat in the pot or pan. After a year and a half I turned on the control knob and the entire cook top exploded.

There was no odor of gas present. I was standing right in front of the cooktop when it exploded. The knobs were blown off, the lids on the burners were blown off, the grates were also blown into the air and back down to the counter. It also blew off the pot of water I was about to heat. Of course water was everywhere as the pot ended up on the adjoining counter. I was screaming at the top of my lungs as I had never been this close to an explosion. Only by the grace of God I was not hurt or injured. My husband and son were downstairs and came running. Never again will I purchase or use Jenn Air products. This could have been a real tragedy.

When we had our home built in 2013 we put all Jenn-Air appliances into our kitchen. I specifically chose Jenn-Air based on the sales person's suggestion because the original appliances I wanted were not available. I am so sad I did. I have had nothing but problems with ALL my Jenn-Air Appliances. This review is about the stand alone Cooktop Model JGC1536. About 1 year after we moved in I noticed a strange thing would happen if I was cleaning the cooktop, or if water was spilled in the area of the knobs. As soon as any moisture would get into the control knobs it would set off a chain reaction and cause all 5 of the burners to click like they were trying to ignite. It did not matter if they were turned off or not. They would still click. I had to unplug the appliance to get it to stop, and dry out the area in and around the knobs.

A bit of a hassle but I just made sure I was careful and did not get water into the knobs. Fast forward Thanksgiving 2020. Oh 2020. My teenage daughters were helping me cook. They all knew the issue with the water in the control knobs, but accidents happen and about a tablespoon of water was spilled. It got into the knots and the clicking started. All 5 burners trying to ignite. We unplugged the appliance. Tried to dry out the knobs, plugged it back in. Clicking still continues, unplug repeat, about 3 times.

Finally we decide to let the cooktop dry out out naturally and started to walk away. At that moment something triggered a flame which caused flames to shoot out from all 5 burners AND all 5 control knobs. We immediately left the kitchen. After a few minutes we went back into the kitchen and noticed a very strong smell of burnt plastic and gas. Left the house and called 911. Needless to day the cooktop was red tagged. I will be shopping for a new cooktop and may also replace the rest of my appliances in the process. I will NEVER buy Jenn-Air again.

Buyers beware! We thought we were purchasing higher end appliances from Barron's for our New kitchen. We were sadly mistaken, nothing but issues with them. Had to have our trash compactor replaced as first was defective then only worked 2 years and they said that they would need for us to purchase a new unit couldn't fix. 1200.00 down the tube in 2 years. Last year the double oven glass shattered out of the blue, now one was even cooking. Sorry, not under warranty, can help.

Now our double ovens stop working and your guessed right. Not covered and the tech said he never saw both ovens go at the same time, it could be defect. Again, they don't care. So now $1300.00 later to fix them too. As well as our cook top industrial sized has always had one burner that would not go to low it just turned off. Just sets at high- you guessed, not covered and is $900.00 to fix. Finally spent 10,000.00 on refrigerator as they said it's the most important. Ice tray in freezer kept freezing up and would not let us completely shut the door, as well as the refrigerator white seal strap came off...yes again not covered, cost us 762.00 for ice tray and 287.00 for strap. Pretty disgusting!

Don't be fooled by the paper towel demonstration. The stovetop makes a horrible sound if you don't use paper towels on it. Also any splash of food or grease shuts stovetop down, cleaning alone does not reset it. You also must shut breaker off. Stove will randomly start to beep endlessly usually in the middle of the night. Stove has been in use for 17 months. Wish I had never bought this stove and for 4000.00. I expected a lot more.

The control Panel got E1 error several times, within two months of use the technician had to come to replace the control panel. Again in few weeks got E1 error. We bought a house that had a 2010-2012 Jenn-Air smooth top radiant electric cooktop installed. It's just about the worst cooktop I've ever used. None of the burners will keep a simmer with even a Le Creuset dutch oven - there is just too much heat to simmer in even the low-power burners. It's boil, boil, boil. I have to be very careful not to overheat my pans and to turn down heat as soon as a heavy pan is heated up. And the knobs are a horrid design. They are located in the middle front of the cooktop, scratch easily, and the wells under the knobs are impossible to clean. Plus - the cooktop is mounted over a built-in oven. So if you want to take a pan out of the oven and place directly on the cooktop, as I was used to do with a range, you can't - the knobs are in the way. I can't wait till this thing dies. Oh, and the lights are impossible to see in bright light. I'm thinking of getting a restaurant grade induction hot plate.

Two years ago I redid my kitchen -- beautifully. Because there was an existing island with a Jenn-Air downdraft in the center of the kitchen, I needed to purchase another Jenn-Air or rearrange the kitchen and lose cupboard space. I paid $2,158.92 for this now damaged disaster. Suddenly two weeks ago, white circle from underneath appeared which refused to be wiped out -- along with tiny beads that also marred the surface, My Jenn-Air is still under warranty, but the service person who arrived to take care of one large burner that failed to fully operate told me that Jenn Air would not accept responsibility for these issues. He also told me to only use totally flat based pans and to use a flashlight underneath to be sure no light would be seen under the pan and that the pan should fit the burner exactly.

There were no direction regarding these issues when the Jenn-Air was purchased. The burner will be repaired, but it will cost a total of $600.00 to replace the damaged black cooktop. Another neighbor removed the island and rearranged the kitchen to avoid using the downdraft and purchase an appliance other than Jenn-Air. Further, the paint on the small piece that covers the downdraft has begun to flake off on the sides. I am advising anyone who is considering a Jenn-Air product to beware and check out other possibilities if possible.

I have only cleaned my cooktop with soft cloths and a water/Dawn mixture spray. To wipe around the edges or round areas I cleaned as anyone would. This surface scratched with just soft cloth and soap and water. The cleaning directions say clean with the grain. How is that possible when the surface is round to just go back and forth and to get along the edges of the square cooktop pan? This product surface is terrible. I cannot get these scratches out. My cooktop has been in use 2 months. I now have bought a counter top electric cooktop so I won’t get my cooktop dirty and have to clean it - risking more scratches. This is ridiculous. I have had other stainless products; sink, refrigerator, oven unit and never experienced scratching like this. Very poor - wish I had bought a different brand.

Electric black glass digital unit looks great, heats fast. Temperature selector is a touch + or - key that will increase or decrease burner temperature. Reducing the burner temp causes the burner to go full hot for 5-15 seconds depending on the starting setting of the burner. Then the new temp setting will take effect and everything is ok until you next adjust the burner temp lower again and the whole burner hot cycle starts again. Had serviceman out, showed him the problem, he called Jenn-Air service and was told that this is how the unit works. I would say that this is a poor design feature. Jenn-Air needs a better electronic design!

Four years ago I remodeled my kitchen and purchased an entire Jenn-Air kitchen package which included a $2200 induction stove top. I purchased the expensive pots and pans that have to be used with it. After 3 years the stove top blew up. Of course it had just gone out of warranty so I had to purchase another $2200 induction stove top because that is what fit the hole in my granite. 4 MONTHS after purchasing the new stove top the middle burner and to right hand burners quit working so I had to have it repaired and all JENN-AIR did was offer to extend my warranty for 6 months.

Well then 2 MONTHS after having it repaired the same burners have quit working again. All JENN-AIR is willing to do is give me a $200 check and repair it for free. I have spent $5000 dollars in 5 years with this company and that is all they will do. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY BECAUSE THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS OR THEIR PRODUCT. I would give it zero stars but it will not let me.

We invested a lot of money in our kitchen reno. We purchased Jenn-Air products with the assumption that we would receive a quality product. There is only two of us living in the house and we are very gentle on all of our products. The reason for this review is that I have sent Jenn-Air Canada a note a month ago and have not heard anything back. We are continued put off by our local Jenn-Air dealer... so this is our story. Here is our experience: We had the smell of gas in our kitchen. We contacted our gas guy to check the lines and they were tight and fine (bubble test complete). He noticed that the Jenn-Air stove fittings, next to the gas line connection and they were loose and emitting gas.

We had informed the retailer of this issue and received no follow up. We continue to have the odor of gas in our kitchen around the range (suspect other loose fittings) and we have reached out to the Jenn-Air dealer in Moncton NB and they are not taking this seriously. The black top grates, over the flame, scrape very easily. Consequently, the black colour is being rubbed off and exposing the metal underneath. The control panel has become very scratched and we are puzzled. We don't use hard tools or scrape with jewelry but yet the control panel cover becomes discoloured due to the heat of the flame (burnt looking) and scratched.

Also the some of the burners have failed numerous times. The glass top broke and I replaced that at $300. I do the repair work myself so my labor is only time wasted. I understand that these things are manufactured by Whirlpool. I also have a Kenmore washer and dryer which I also understand are built by this company. The washer is on its 4th pump and second motor control board. The dryer is at my shop for total rebuild due to numerous component failures. I have spent more money on parts for these appliances than the original cost. I will never, ever buy another appliance or anything else for that matter, made by Whirlpool.

Starting to find these reviews helpful in choosing everything in life, learn from others experiences! We have a Jenn-Air stove top, it works well, although it’s hard to clean and iron top plates chipped very quickly so aged very quickly. My beef with this product is the knobs that turn the burners on and off, they are so cheaply made that they constantly break and crack so we have been constantly switching them around to hopefully spread around the wear and tear of the knob. Many an occasion I have left the kitchen thinking that I have turned the burner off as it indicated on the knob's position, but only to return to the kitchen a few hours later and noticed heat from the stove, looking closely I could see that the burner flame was still burning on a very low setting even though looking at the knob it was in the off position!!! What a fire hazard!!

I have a house full of hungry teenagers and my gas stove is constantly being used. All the knobs are hanging off and I have to use pliers to turn to a complete off position! What a pain. Over the Christmas period my gas stove was left on for two days!! I called the company and they offered me new knobs at a discount price! Really! The money this company makes you would think they would send the knobs out "complimentary". I will never buy an expensive Jenn-Air product ever again and will tell anyone I know not too because the customer service sucks! If you want your customers to continue coming back you need to accommodate and follow through with good customer service
