UNBELIEVABLE BUT TRUE. Purchased a 30/52 Husqvarna Ride on from Karl's Mowers Burleigh Heads, cost almost $6000. Had 240 hours, had all of its required services on it when it started to play up. Went and seen Karl who said "spray carby cleaner into the carby. You can buy it from Supercheap, that should fix it." That's exactly what it did. Fixed it for good. Rang them up to say it has a problem and quickly got diverted to ring Husqvarna and tell them what has happened. Got told off by the Husqvarna service people for calling them on the number Karl's gave me and was told that I should take it up with the person who sold me the mower or take it to the nearest approved Husqvarna outlet.
Did that and they pulled the motor down and sent pics to Husqvarna. Yes you guessed it, "not our problem" they said. I have failed to do maintenance on it by the book, we can see that in the photos. "How about the carby cleaner solution provided by Karl's Mowers" I asked. "Not interested, as we said you have not done regular maintenance on the mower." "But wait on I have done all the maintenance by the book. Can I send you the proof and claim my warranty?" "No you can't. We don't deal with customers of Husqvarna directly. You will have to go back to a dealership. Anyway our warranty only covers manufacturer's faults." "Mmmmm so even though I have serviced the machine by the book and it only has 240+ hours on it, you have no obligation whatsoever to recognize any warranty." "Yes that's correct. You must have put an aftermarket air filter in it rather than a genuine part."
So here I am now taking action against the big guy. Anyone else out there who has a similar story about being shafted on a warranty from Husqvarna, let me know. I'm putting together a list of sites who I can take my case further to. This social media thing is great for letting people know about who isn't giving good service. Costly experience for me and costly for Husqvarna, I'm sure. By the way if you're looking to apologize, my incident number is **.

This is the WORST garden tractor I have ever owned, period. Mine had 3 hours on it when, on a flat grass field, the Weldment Front Deck Suspension Husqvarna part # 574822501 separated from deck and started tearing (ploughing) the grass, while it was badly bent as the result of going backwards for just a couple feet. I stopped operating and removed the Weldment Front Deck Suspension. It costs $61 to $100 to replace... but I'm bringing it to the dealer as I suspect my garden tractor could be a LEMON, because of the following additional problems:
As mentioned before, the fabricated deck is very heavy and thus the tractor consumes a lot of gasoline and is hard to drive. This tractor's deck shaves the soil on every small bump instead of adjusting and cutting the grass properly. No matter how high or low the deck is raised/lowered, it just does not work right. The deck goes straight on a slight "slope" and cuts the grass unevenly. Steering wheel is a joke and the covering on it slides down preventing me from concentrating on what I should be doing, which is mowing the grass! No... I must watch the steering wheel and the cover on it keeps on sliding down! Plus the steering wheel is not exactly round and is hard to turn.
The entire tractor is hard to handle because it is too heavy for the engine and too awkward made and it gulps gasoline by a bucket! Prepare a lot of gasoline to mow your field with this one! The left (clutch) pedal is jerking already while idling. Something is wrong. I don't know what. The battery could not handle the starting and died. Took too long to start it and so I bought a new batter already!
This is a major one - while mowing grass on a flat and level field (had 3 hours on it) the Weldment Front Deck Suspension Husqvarna part # 574822501 separated from deck and started "ploughing" or tearing the grass, while it was badly bent. I stopped operating immediately when I noticed that and removed the Weldment Front Deck Suspension. It costs $61 to $100 to replace... but I'm bringing it to the dealer as I suspect my garden tractor could be a LEMON. My first one GT52XLS had to be returned as it was spitting lots of oil and the engine kept dying. I had quite an effort (struggle) trying to get a replacement! Now this is my second one, again multiple problems!
Hard to start when cold. Much harder than my older, smaller Husqvarna. I overpaid for it by at least $250. Cost wise this product is unsatisfactory. Rearing this tractor is a joke, because the deck grass shoot protector is only made to go drive forward. When you drive backwards, the black "rubber" shoot protector keeps on jumping up and down like crazy unless you bend over and hold it up with a hand risking getting stones into your face. The whole tractor is awkward to drive and handles rather like a stump. And did I mention the consumption of gasoline on it is through the roof! No wonder it got a 5 gallon tank!
The deck lift has weird and confusing numbering on it and is hard to operate. It gets stuck and I can't lower it or raise it to the max. It is just plain weird. And this is a new tractor with 3 hours on it! One of the wheels on the tractor is wobbling and it feels like it is going to fall off soon! The rear push or drive "wire" is so thin and looks so out of place with this rather large garden tractor. Why not designs something that looks and feels good? The entire thing wants to go straight when I turn. The deck drives it straight and down into the ground. It feels really weird operating this tractor, as if I was driving a stump and the steering wheel feels like it is badly dented and is wrapped with some soft material that prevents me from mowing the grass properly!
This is a COMPLETE FAILURE of a product and I demand my money back or another product of my choice. HUSQVARNA refuses to replace it with a new one either. They say it is my fault that the weldment suspension separated from a deck. Yes! My fault for mowing grass with it! I should have kept it in the garage instead! Husqvarna told me to bring it to the dealership for repairs. How can you repair a lemon or something that was badly designed and made? This tractor is PURE TROUBLE! No wonder there are no reviews on it! People are probably returning these in droves!
Buy cheaper, smaller ones with stamped decks. You will be wasting your money, time and health buying this one! I would avoid Husqvarna products. Buy Japanese or whatever. One good thing so far - the engine seems to be quieter. It is a Japanese engine after all. Shame on the Japanese for allowing to use their engine on this POS.
Conclusion - no more Husqvarna products for me. I will try with Kubota or some other. When I had a Volvo and Saab, I had many problems with them and the design was so ugly. Sorry, but no more Swedish products anymore for me either. And in general, I stopped consuming whatsoever, cut my spending on food and cut other bills, only keep spending on my hobby. I'm tired of increasingly crappy products and especially the Planned Obsolescence that's being widely practiced by today's corporations.

Where do I start? First off its battery was weak. Most times, I would kill the battery starting the machine. Brought it to the dealer several times (I don't live in town so had to trailer it each time costing me gas and time). Eventually they said the battery was faulty and replaced it. Brought it home and it happened again. Brought it back, and it took two weeks to have it looked at, parts ordered, and get it back. Turns out they had to replace the whole wiring harness even though they didn't see anything wrong with it...the only thing left that it could be they said.
By this time, the summer was over and I had only one more mowing for the season. Now to backtrack a little, I was having another problem with the belt coming off and had it to the shop at least twice to have it adjusted. I am quite capable of doing this myself of course but it kept coming off so...back to the shop. They put the belt back on and tried another tension adjustment. Got it home, mowed about 5 minutes and off it comes again. Didn't finish the grass, was pissed so I hauled the battery out and shoved it in the garage.
This spring I raised the mower with my backhoe, put the belt back on and inspected the system. ** design, the belt is nearly round and as far as I can tell, it inverts and pops off. With only 5.6 hours on the machine the belt is in tethers from coming off. Good enough. Laid her back down and put the battery back in. Not a gig. Boosted it, not a gig. Again brought it back to the dealer. Turns out the flywheel had a crack in it. Another three weeks waiting with the grass now to my knees. I have a lot of area to mow. I have had this mower two years now and it spent the bulk of its life in the shop with 5.6 hours on it. I contacted Husqvarna and said I wanted a replacement machine as this one is a lemon.
I can't begin to say how dissatisfied I was with the response. I got a complaints department who said that there was no one above them that I could talk to. What bull. What were they, the owners!? I run a resort here and I have a lot of equipment around that I have to depend on. I always buy new no I don't get other people's junk and full warranty. I could have bought a cheaper brand and got a better machine but no, I spent $4000 on this piece of crap that has been in the shop for two years. They told me they couldn't replace it unless the cost was 70% of cost. What about customer service?

Husqvarna riding lawn mower yth24v54xls - I've had this mower for 2 years. I've had to change out spindles on the mower deck twice. I've had two more deck because the weld on the brackets broke. I have had to put on a motion drive belt and I am still having problems with the belt staying on. I get no response from Husqvarna nor the dealer of why or anything in that nature. Customer service sucks on their part of a company. If there was ever a lemon I have it and Husqvarna give no satisfaction. I would not buy another Husqvarna product again and I have four or five of their products now.

Bought a brand new husqvarna lawn tractor 26 hp 54 inch deck. Right off the bat, this thing has been hard to start. Dealer says nothing is wrong with it. You kill the battery cranking on it, then boost it and crank some more and more till it finally starts. Once you've started and ran it a little, it starts ok until it sits long enough to cool down. Then it's back to wearing out the starter again to get it to fire up.

Within a year of purchase, Husqvarna XP545 chainsaw piston froze. Dealer took first peak at it, said it was not enough oil in the fuel mixture and Husqvarna would not cover it under warranty. Odd, since the gas was brand new and I used the oil that I purchased from the dealer AND I have used this fuel mixture on a Stihl chainsaw with no issues. The dealer was good enough to contact Husqvarna customer support while I was in the store. I expected that I could speak to the representative, but I guess I was not a privileged customer and was denied to speak to them directly. The dealer was asked to send pictures. Husqvarna reviewed the pictures and said it was TOO much oil in the mixture. Seems odd that two independent qualified parties came up with completely different root cause of the issue.
In any case, my claim with Husqvarna was denied and their warranty will not cover a defect on their end. They are using the excuse to say the gas was bad. Having power equipment for over 25 years, this statement is a joke as my 20 year old Craftsman Weedwacker that I leave old and stale gas in over the winter actually still starts and works fine. Husqvarna really needs to take accountability for their lack in quality and professionalism. A lot of money for a piece of crap engineering.

I purchased a Husqvarna RZ46i on Wednesday the 21st of May. I arranged to pick up the mower after work on Thursday the 22nd. I got home late and decided to mow the lawn knowing that it would be dark by the time I got half way done. I noticed that the mower had a vibration in the deck when it was off and the motor was on idle. I looked at the electric clutch and noticed that there was far too much run out between the clutch and the motor shaft. I engaged the blades and idled the motor up to about half throttle and deck shook badly. If I sped the motor up the deck would smooth out some but vibration was sure to take a toll on the life of the bearings in the clutch and the deck spindles. I mowed the grass and the right headlight went out within 15 minutes most likely from the vibration.
I called the store and arranged for another mower to try. They called me back when it was ready and I went to check it out. The other mower acted the same way! The mechanic said that it had a three year warranty and I told him that that would be around the time that the bearings would start failing. He said I could buy the extended warranty and I told him I could buy the clutch for less than that. I rejected that mower at the store and left it there. I told the mechanic that I wanted to call Husqvarna on Tuesday the 27th since they would be closed on Memorial Day and see where they stood on the issue.
The customer service rep. had never heard of this problem and did not seem to know anything about belts and clutch alignment. She threw the responsibility back on the distributor as the one that should fix their Quality escape. Since the stores fix was the extended warranty and Husqvarna's was "it's not our problem" then my decision was simple. I canceled the sell and bought a John Deere Z425. It was about a $1000.00 more but the clutch is aligned correctly. It runs and mows smooth as glass. Vibration is the number cause of failure in a bearing and then the heat that is generated in the process. When purchasing one of these mowers I would caution you to check the vibration and the run out on the clutch. Just because it may smooth out some at high RPM does not mean that everything is OK.

I looked down at the mower and seen 3/4 of the mower deck hanging out of the passenger side of the mower. I put the parking brake on went to step down and the belt flew off and waked me in the left ankle making the side of my foot go numb shut the mower down and found that the welds holding the brackets on the mower deck broke right off, as a welder/mechanic by trade of 30 yrs.
There were welds that didn't take the welds were rusted 3/4 percent only leaving maybe a 1/16 of an inch holding the brackets to the deck. Went to the hospital for my foot which I can no longer feel my big toe and the side of my foot, Dr. says possible nerve damage. I called sears and Husqvarna and explained to them what had happened. I do have a witness that seen this happen. I will say I will never buy another Husqvarna product as they have cheapened their products, no quality control cheap porous welds. I am now getting the atty. gen and my own atty involved. Buyers Beware.

440 Chainsaw too hard to start WTF?? I bought this thing because I love my Husqvarna riding mower, but the first weekend it took me the better part of an afternoon and partially disassembling the engine and putting it back together again before I could get it to start. I get the impression that it was flooding with the "at least 6 pushes" of the fuel bulb but I tried it repeatedly with 1, 2, 3 and every other combination of pushes and sequences with no success. I'm a strong 40 year old guy too and a former Marine, so don't tell me I wasn't pulling it hard enough or enough times. I can generally get anything to start. I'm on the second weekend now and same thing, spent all afternoon trying and no success. It may be that my fuel/oil ratio is off, not sure. Or perhaps the fuel isn't high octane enough? So frustrating, but those are the next things to try. PITA.

Tried contacting Poulan eight hundred number and this is your worst nightmare. Bottom line, I have a blower that is now technically out of way because my unit sat at a so called approved repair store that apparently was not approved. The hundred bucks for the blower is not my issue. I most certainly don't need the aggravation. If the CEO of Husqvarna gets to read this, I would hope heads will roll. This no way to run a company. I've had my lawn tractor about three seasons. And the experiences have not been all bad. I've got only about 50 hours on my mower and I've done the regular maintenance. I try to keep it up because it was very expensive over $2k. I've replaced the normal blades, oil + filter, air filter, fuel filter, battery. But recently the deck just up and fell off the mower. I know I'm not under warranty with Lowe's where I purchased it, so I call the Husqvarna No Customer Service Line and explained the situation. They said I was on my own with this problem because I wasn't in the warranty period. Seriously the welds broke from a manufacturer defect and it's my problem? I was extremely pissed off at this reply after spending my good earned money on this practically new tractor.
So I ended up having to remove the deck and getting the brackets welded back on so I can fix this mower. I don't recommend buying this brand mower because the manufacturer does not stand behind their product. Snapper has lifetime warranties on their decks and I've heard nothing but good from John Deere customers. Also don't buy in the big box stores, go to the local dealers. The guys that posted on this feed that works at Lowe's was right, it's not his fault, but Lowe's is not worried about selling you a great product. I hope this post helps someone not make the same mistake. Thanks.

I bought a Husqvarna LGT2554 which I paid 2600 for. Thought it would be a good mower that would last me for awhile and I even bought a four year warranty. Boy was I wrong! It wasn't long that I had the mower that the Right front wheel fell off. The bearings chewed up. That came out and took it to the shop. Bearing on back order. Finally get the mower back weeks later and start mowing again. After several hours of use same wheel falls off. To shorten the story this went on for the first three years I had this mower not to mention the starter going out. After three years of the wheel falling off they finally put a new front axle on it which was on back order. Didn't get to use the mower the whole year. When I did get it back it didn't take many hours of us before the same wheel fell off. They put a new wheel on it this time.
Started mowing again when I got it back and the next thing it won't move. I figured the main drive belt broke but it was intact. Started pushing it back to the house and lo and behold the left rear wheel falls off. Upon inspection, the axle broke. By this time my extended warranty had ran out. Called Husqvarna and they basically told me that they were not going to do anything. I had this mower four years and it stayed in the shop more than I mowed with it. I had to buy a new mower this year and you can bet it wasn't a Husqvarna. I think when you pay that much for something it should last for years if you take care of it. I bought a LGT 2554 from Lowe's in Muncie, In.. They also sold me a push plow for snow. The first winter I started pushing snow and broke the frame where the transaxle met. Called Lowe's, they had a dealer come out and re-weld the frame (needless to say, I didn't have my tractor for the rest of the winter). The following summer I was mowing my yard for the first time that summer and again, broke the frame where they welded it. Called Husqvarna and complained. They had another guy come up from Milroy, In. to get it and fix it.
I got to looking at the frame. It is a one piece stamped into the whole frame with a long throw off then bolted down. Got to looking at John Deere and Cubcadets and they both had a "L" piece angle iron running from the frame to the transaxle. I told the guy in Milroy about it and he got to checking it out. So that is how he fixed my Husqvarna. He was telling me that that tractor had too much torque for that frame. I have been pushing a lot of snow for 3 years now on that setup without a single breakage. Told Husqvarna about how to fix it, and they just simply said they would look into it.

My wife thought she was doing a nice thing by replacing my 10 year old Sears Craftsman riding mower with a new Husqvarna. In 10 years, I only had to replace blades and belts. My new mower eats belts at a prodigious rate. Every time I apply the parking brake with it running it eats a belt. The dealers have been no help with a solution. Also the rear transaxle broke both sides where it mounts to the frame. The mower engage switch has failed 3 times and the pulley housings break repeatedly. The belt also wrapped up all the safety switch wires and broke them when the belt flailed around. It also cleverly jams beneath the pulley on the transaxle so it needs to be cut into sections to remove. I will never buy another Husqvarna product. It is only 2 years old and was not a cheap purchase.

At one and half years old, the mower began to lose the drive belt off of the pulleys. I purchased a new belt thinking that was the problem and began to install them. During this I discovered that the two bolts holding the front of the transaxle were missing. On inspection I discovered that they had stripped the threads in the transaxle. Looking closer I found that the frame mount brackets were breaking. One of the missing bolts was found on the deck.
With the mechanical experience I have after looking at the 2 bolts, they are not long enough to handle the pressure placed on them during operation. They only go into the transaxle about a 1/4 inch. I checked the cost of the repairs and it was more than I wanted to spend on this mower. I decide to attempt repairs myself and was able to make new axle mounts that i bolted to each side of the mower frame.
I looked at the transaxle schematic and discovered that I could remove the 2 bolts on top and drill from the bottom of the axle out through the bolt holes on top. This allowed me to install two four inch log bolts through the axle and the frame to secure it with lock nuts. This has worked for 2 years now. I was lucky that I repaired this issue for $20.00 and my labor. Now the steering system has failed. I have had issues with the steering drag links bending and allowing the tires to spread in the front making hard to steer. I have had to straighten them every year of use. This is all poor design issues.

Do not buy a Husqvarna tractor. My LGT2554 tractor's axle broke and the wheel fell off. I had this repaired 1.5 yrs ago, and the same thing has happened again. This tractor is only used for my own personal 1 acre lawn and it should not be breaking down every season! This is faulty manufacturing and design. I see there are many others who had the same experience. My tractor is 4 years old and out of warranty, so there is nothing Husqvarna will do. The worst part is they don't even have the parts to fix it. On backorder with no expected date, what does that mean? One day, a month, never? Not having your tractor, while you have grass growing and leaves falling is extremely inconvenient. Do not buy Husqvarna - BAD Product and unreliable inconvenient service. Husqvarna Answer Army claims that only about 50 axles have broken but the internet is loaded with complaints about this happening, sometimes twice to the same customer with the same mower. My repairman says you can see that the product was defective and that caused the weakness. All of these claims over the last 3 years but no recall!!!!!! We purchased a Husqvarna riding mower from Lowe’s in Gloucester, Virginia. From the beginning it would throw the blade belt unusually when you turned off the mower but sometimes when running. According to Lowe’s this was a known defect and after several unsuccessful fixes from Lowe’s we were told all we could do was send it to service. (NOTE: There are more than complaints on this subject here is but one: **).
The unit was sent to ALTAQUIP in Dunn, NC. Who surely did not read the service tag as they stated “Belt had to be replaced and out of warranty.” Certainly the belt had to be replaced it kept flying off, nevertheless they claimed the reason was the deck was dirty. The only reason the deck was slightly dirty a demonstration had been performed for the driver from the service center. The question was asked, “How could you mow the lawn if the deck getting dirty caused the belt to come off”. No response was given! Lowe’s against my wishes paid the bill.
Upon receipt of the unit and in front of Lowe’s personnel the mower was run and when turned off the belt came off. The unit was returned to the service center. This time they claimed the reason the belt came off was the deck was uneven. (Nothing had changed if the deck was uneven now it was the first time!) They again replaced the belt though they did not charge for it. Again, against my wishes Lowe’s paid the bill. Upon receipt of the unit and in front of Lowe’s personnel the mower was run and when turned off the belt came off.
Showing the unit to a local service center authorized to work on Husqvarna but not conduct warranty work we were told there was no way either reason would cause the belt to come off ; further recommending we stay with authorized service centers. It was then found as previous noted that this problem was a latent defect and this was the recommended repair; “On the mower deck, you will see an idler pulley that maintains proper tension on the belt at all times. As the belt stretches, the spring-loaded idler pulley applies more tension on the belt.
Due to this, there is no reason to complete routine tensioning maintenance on this mower's belt. However, there is a built-in lever that allows you to apply or release tension to the belt to engage or disengage the drive belt. This lever turns the mower blades on and off. When you disengage the drive belt, it causes enough slack in the belt to allow the belt to slip off the main drive pulley, preventing the blades from continuing to spin. Without the ability to adjust the belt tension, you could never turn off the blades, which would cause a safety risk as well as require you to replace your belt much more often.
The recommend fix has not helped the problem. I believe the company should refund the fees paid by Lowe’s and consider review current manufacturers manuals, know defect and repairs with their service personnel. That Lowe’s exercises better control over their subcontractors. Since the situation described above the unit now will not move, the engine runs fine. I am disabled so regardless of what the problem was I would in all likelihood not be able to repair it. I don't know what I was thinking but because of the description "Hydrostatic transmission" I assumed the mower had some type transmission; I was wrong it had a drive belt. I can only assume like the mower drive belt it had tension issues the mower has yet to reach a maintenance point. Anyway this time it was another $146.00 to replace that belt which the company paid once again.
I tried to argue with the box company that for a company be in Carolina and for them to handle, stockpile mowers from across Virginia until they have enough to ship has to have built in a wide profit margin, couldn't they find local service centers? That is another issue the mower will be gone three + weeks. I am amazed in a company that made a public announcement they were going to concentrate on Customer Service acts like this they must have meant another company!

I purchased a 440 Husqvarna chainsaw less than a year ago. Ever since I took it out of the box, it has been hard to start. I took to an authorized Husqvarna repair shop to see why it was so hard to start and was told that, after removing the muffler, they could see that the piston was showing signs of being discolored from overheating. I was told that the warranty was voided because I was not using Husqvarna brand 2-cycle oil. I was using ACE Hardwarde 2-cycle oil and that the same mixture was working in all of my other 2-cycle engines. I asked if there was another reason the engine could overheat and was told that a too lean fuel adjustment could be the cause but that they did not have the time to do further investigation and most likely Husqvarna would refuse any warranty work anyway. On Husqvarna's suggestion, I took it to another authorized repair shop who confirmed that the carburetor was set out-of-limits and was in the full lean position. Husqvarna still refused any responsibility for the malfunction. I was told that there was no one in Husqvarna that can override a decision made by their warranty department. My advise is not to count on any warranty help from Husqvarna.

LGT 2654 54" Husqvarna Breaking Frame - Started out March 2013. We go shopping around for a new lawn mower. We originally went to John Deere place in Danville, KY and they were closed. Sadly we went on to Lowe's in Danville KY and the whole front of the store was loaded with lawn mowers. We decide to take a look. Two men approached us and asked what we were looking for as we were looking at the John Deeres and both men stated that you don't want John Deere if you're looking for a heavy duty lawn tractor go with Husqvarna! Okay, later to learn they must get some sort of incentive pay for selling this garbage.
So what do we do. After hearing all of the warranty and how good they are we buy the most expensive one. They delivered it as it would not fit in our truck. They left husband all excited, get the gas can and fills it up, turns it over and over and over and over, backfire, backfire!! Finally after jumping it and it smoking badly for 10 minutes, he has a frown on his face and I know this is not how this $2400.00 was supposed to look. He mows for an hour and comes in, says that it don't act right and of course I am think you're kidding right, the black smoke and it backfiring wasn't a dead giveaway.
He mows another hour and parks it for the day. To shorten the story, a bit after seven hours, junk won't start and we go through this over and over, keep jumping a new mower. He gets it started, runs it for a bit and then the PTO goes out. Then it never would start and had to tow it to the house. Called Lowe's and they happily brought us another one the next day and even on a Sunday so we are feeling good about this. Oh, two months go by and the drive belt keeps flying off. We think that for some reason, the belt is bad. My husband looks through the book and it states that they are good for at least 100 hours.
So he calls Lowe's and they said, "Yes we have the belt," drive there and guess what, Lowe's doesn't sell that belt. Husband is telling the man over Lawn mowers that day some manager that it would not be covered but he can order him one so we pay for it and it is shipped 7 days later. Not to mention we spent 1 hour in Lowe's with this guy explaining what the drive belt was because he kept wanting to order the deck belt until my husband made him get on his hands and knees and look under there to show him what he needed.
Okay then we get the belt. He takes the deck off to put the belt on and he gets up and says, "Before I go through the trouble to put this deck back on, I will see if I have drive without it popping off." He starts it up and goes to pull off and OH MY GOSH, THE WHOLE REAR END TWISTS AND he bails off of it. He looks at me and all I could say was, "This isn't good." He goes to the back to see what I am seeing. At first he thought just the bolts come out. Then after inspecting we find out why the belt won't stay on - because all but one bolt was out and frame cracked on both sides and when he took off the whole rear end, it almost come out from under him.
Oh we were worried then and did not call Lowe's. We just drove there with these pictures and the guy said he could not believe what he was seeing and I ask for a way to send them to him and he gave me his email so I sent them to him as he said because it has been two month. The return manager would call us. Well, he never did. We took two more rides to Lowe's and husband getting very aggravated as he likes his place mowed and it had been two weeks. The return manager said that Husqvarna told him that they had never seen this before and they needed the lawn mower back to inspect it. So I stated right away we have owned a lot of mowers over time and we have never seen anything like this before either so now what? Okay, what are we supposed to do about our lawn?
My husband told him he could come and pick it up but he at least needed a loaner. So he said they had none in at the time but as soon as they got one in, they would send him one and pick up the other for Husqvarna's review. Okay they finally get one in and bring to us and it is the same as what we have and brand new so we are thinking, okay, we have had problems but to date so far, they have been taken care of until 9:00 am this morning, August 8th 2013. A man from Lowe's calls and tells my husband that they need to come after the new one and bring him his junk back, that Husqvarna said that it would cost $1800 to fix. Okay, come on the junk cost $2400 and we are gonna pay you $1800 to fix your junk, NO!
So now we are at a standstill. He says he isn't giving it back until things are resolved and although he has not told them this yet, I am sure they will bring the law to get the somewhat good lawn mower that which I have not stated yet has had the bolts tightened on the rear end that are the same bolts that came out on the other lawn mower because they were coming out and the thing backfires all of the time. Husqvarna stated to us that they have never seen this happen before. Okay, this is a lie and they just don't want to stand behind their product because I have been online all day to find out if anyone else has had this problem or any problem with Husqvarna and story after story after story.
Same problem and the sad part is they must give everyone the same line that they have never seen this before and that it happened due to a crash like the manager stated to my husband this morning. A CRASH, please come on it don't go 60 mph. Other than all of the other complaints, I also found that this is a well known problem and they sell a kit to fix it and to beef it up. Okay, if you have never seen this problem before then why do you sell a product to fix the problem or to just beef it up? Also one other man with a complaint stated that after the kit fix, it still broke again so I guess the repair kit is junk just like all of their other products.
I know in just today I have read over 75 complaints for the same problem and personally after all I have read I don't even want the loaner. I want a refund and go buy a John Deere that will last for years. So much for 3 years bumper-to-bumper warranty like the man stated for us to buy it and a 10-year warranty on the deck and after I read on that that is 10 years on the deck, NO MOVING parts and I am not talking about the blades that is normal. But anyway, I want a refund. I don't want a product that a company will not stand behind.

In 2012, I purchased a self-propelled Husqvarna 22-inch lawn mower. What attracted me to the product was the "3 year unconditional 2 pull to start" warranty. I thought that was unambiguous, but found I was wrong. I used the mower 5 times in 2012, then siphoned the gasoline out of it and ran the carburetor dry before storing it for the winter. In the spring, I put gasoline in the mower, started it up and it ran for only 15 minutes before stalling. It never started again. I called Husqvarna and was treated like the village idiot on the telephone. I was told I would have to pay to have the mower engine and carburetor rebuilt to prove it was under warranty.
Seriously? So I took the mower back to Lowe's, where I had purchased it, and arranged to have the unit "evaluated" by Husqvarna. I was forced to sign a contract stating I would pay $85 toward the repairs (forced, as in, you sign this and make this guarantee or we won't even look at the mower). Weeks pass with no word. Then, yesterday, I received a call from the Lowe's "evaluation team" telling me the mower was not covered by warranty for the following reasons: 1) There was gasoline in the carburetor... seriously, they voided the warranty because the carburetor had gasoline in it after the mower would not start. 2) There was evidence the unit had been used because the oil had not been changed.
In other words, my used lawn mower with only a year on its unconditional warranty was not covered by that warranty because it was used. Sorry, but that sounds like a condition to me. Now they want to charge me 2/3 of the cost of the original purchase to "repair" the carburetor, an integral part of the starting system, which is not allowing the mower to start but somehow this is not covered by the "unconditional" warranty.
This company is a cheat. They lie, they overcharge for shoddy equipment which does not live up to even the most basic of use, and they refuse to cooperate with or support their customers. Oh, and the $85 pre-repair fee? They now call that an "evaluation fee" even though the repair contract doesn't say squat about "evaluation fees" and it is now up to me to fight my credit card company to cancel that fee. Talk about adding insult to injury. Conclusion: Do not, under any circumstances, buy a Husqvarna anything! If you do, assume the warranty is useless and that it will fail within a year.

The dealer said they had never seen this before but that Husqvarna had a kit for this problem. Right away, you know that this is a known problem if there is a kit. So after one month without a mower, got the kit installed and thought the problem was over. No, the nightmare of owning a Husqvarna mower continued. Another year and another break in the frame, this time right beside where the kit mounts. This time the dealer had the mower for 6 weeks and then told me that Husqvarna wouldn't fix it. My girlfriend and I bought a new Husqvarna GT52XLS FOR $3,339.00 IN CASH on June 21, 2013. The dealer did their set-up and delivered it that afternoon. I noticed that they did not fill the gas tank like they promised. So I filled it up and started to mow the lawn. About an hour of mowing, I started to hear a noise coming from the engine. I stopped and checked the oil and there was NO oil on the stick. I called the dealer to let them know and went down to get a qt. of oil from them. The mower took the whole qt. to put it between the lines.
I went back and finished the lawn and the mower had 2 1/2 hours on the meter. I looked it all over to see if there were any leaks at all and saw none. Then I checked the oil again and there was NO oil on the stick again. I cleaned it up like I do every time I mow the lawn. The following morning, I went to the dealer and told them about it and asked them to replace it with a new one. They came by Monday morning to look at the mower and also found that there was no oil on the stick. Andy put in another qt. of oil and that filled it up. He then ran it for about 15 minutes to check for leaks or to see if it was burning any oil. He did not find any. Later that morning, they came by to pick it up so they could check it at the shop. That afternoon, the owner called and said that they couldn't find anything wrong with it from having it sit and run for 5.2 hours.
On Tuesday morning, we went down to the dealer to see what they would do. The owner was in the back and did not come out to talk with us. Instead we dealt with one his employees. After 1 1/2 hours of my girlfriend talking to them, they said there was nothing wrong with it and that they would only stand behind the warranty on the mower. We asked for a new mower, a new engine (Kawasaki motor to replace the one that was in there), and we asked if they would fix any problem with the Kawasaki engine after the warranty ran out. Their answer was NO!!! So we asked to return it. They had to check with the owner who was in the back during the whole time. They gave us a check for $3,339.00, the same price we paid for it. When we took it to the bank that it was written on, we had to pay $7.50 to cash it.

I was at the Husqvarna dealer looking for a new tractor and was talked into this model by my dealer because it had an auto locking rear differential with a Kawasaki engine and rapid release blades. Well, my tractor arrived with missing paint on my deck from those metal deck stops. They have worn the deck down to bare metal before I even used the tractor. It also arrived with paint rubbed off and down to bare metal on their rear hitch plate of the tractor. I was missing a plastic Christmas clip they call it for a side panel below the hood as well. I have now 4.2 hours on the tractor and the auto locking diff is fully locked all the time. What a pain in the butt. It is supposed to lock and unlock as needed. Well, because it is locked all the time, whenever you turn sharp or just a regular turn, the locked rear end tears up my lawn.
Lastly, today, I was looking under the deck because I was going to clean it and noticed I don't have the quick release mandrels. That's right. I was sold a tractor and one of the selling points was the rapid release blades, and my tractor does not have them. It has the standard bolt on blades, no rapid release. Three tractors from Husqvarna for 2013 were sold with rapid release blades: the YT46LS, GT54LS, YT54LS, and yet, after looking at my deck, it does not have the rapid release blades. I am very upset by this. I called the dealer and he looked at the other YT46LS tractors he had in stock, and none of them have the rapid release blades on them.
The dealer is not very happy as he had been promoting this feature and has sold lots of those models. Now, he has sold all these model tractors all promised to have the rapid release feature and they don't have it. I called Husqvarna company and explained to them my issues and they told me that if the tractor was supposed to have this feature, then I need to bring the tractor to an authorized Husqvarna repair center and they will have to repair it. But she said the Mandrels are NOT covered under warranty. Now, she goes on to say since I have had the tractor for less than 90 days, I could get a refund from my Husqvarna dealer if they offered it as an option. She said it is up to the dealer if they take refunds or not? Very confusing.
At this point, I am very unhappy and would just like to return the tractor for a refund. I have had the tractor for 33 days, so does the dealer have to give me a refund? Even if the Mandrels were supposed to be rapid release Mandrels according to Husqvarna, the Mandrels are not covered by warranty. So how would I get them replaced? I am not paying for new rapid release mandrels to be installed as the tractor was sold to me with having them.

I have a Stihl blower that is 7 years old and a Sears blower that is 12 years old and I never had problems with the gas line. I bought a new Husqvarna Zero turn Model RZ5426. I bought this larger scale because I have about 2 acres to mow. It has just over 4 hours on the machine. It has been in the shop more than it has been at my home. The first thing I never liked is they cut sloppy cut. I figured I could buy better blades, not a big thing. First time I was mowing this summer, I broke of a blade bracket. I ran over tree branch, not big by no means, but it broke it off in many pieces. I had that repaired and after trying it again, I broke another bracket off in less than an hour. And after talking to the Husqvarna dealer, all they said was it was a common problem.
I got that back home and began using it and I noticed a lot of deck noise. After checking things out, I found a belt pulley completely worn off. I checked the others and they are all very badly worn, as well as the teeth on the blade brackets. So now, the dealer is basically rebuilding my deck I only have 4 hours on it. I have tried calling Husqvarna customer service all they do is make a report and send it to this so called Army Answer group who's supposed to handle their complaints and answer questions. I have left 3 questions with them and not one has been answered yet. Have left a bad review of the model of mower I have and that was rejected. I have not gotten any reply back from Husqvarna and am very angry with all the problems I'm having.
I believe it's a flaw in the mover or very cheap parts. I do know that the pulleys are made out of very cheap extremely thin metal. I can't see how that would last at all. Every time I take it back, all they can do is replace the crap with the same cheap junk they had in the first place. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. If I could find stronger parts that would fit this deck, I would spend the money. All I know is Husqvarna will not stand behind this product at all. I cannot find any emails for Husqvarna. All they have is Answer Army which is a complete joke. If you have any idea what I can do, please let me know.

I bought this mower new at Sears in 2006. I mow about 1 acre, and have had nothing but problems with it - bent push rods, fuel system, electrical system, and the tires haven't held air since day one. I have 102 hours on the meter, but my wife has left the key on 2 or 3 times, and the meter adds hours even with the motor not running. It’s probably 50-60 hours and 20 of them were trying to start it.
I have spent more trying to keep it running than it cost new. I had to buy another old riding mower at a yard sale for $250. It has been 10 times the mower than the Husqvarna. This Husqvarna 2348 has been the biggest ** I have ever seen. My advice before you buy one - take the money, buy some goats, or a good pair of scissors. It would be faster in the long run if you buy them. Make sure you have a truck and trailer so you can haul it to the shop. You'll need it.

First of all, I wish there was a choice of no stars (if you know what I mean) but since I have to, I will put 1 star. Last year, we purchased a Husqvarna lawn tractor YTH24k48. The battery had to be boosted off every time we used it. The tire went flat almost immediately. I bought this for my fiance (I wish now I would have purchased a John Deere). We have about an acre of flat yard to mow. For all of you who are insinuating that complainers here don't know what they are doing regarding operating a rider, that's hogwash.
We have done all maintenance as is recommended in the manual (that's a positive we DID get one of those) to the specs as required oil, etc. Now the big problem: He's on the mower mowing on flat grass and the lawn tractor starts shaking violently (we are very fortunate than no one was hurt) when suddenly he hears a big sound and he is hearing impaired. The blade falls off going into the ground making a half circle mark in the yard. We called Lowe's where it was purchased (and no, for the know-it-alls, Lowe's does not put them together; they remove them off a pallet and take them out of a box already assembled by the qualified Husqvarna team... not my problem).
Now I called Lowe's. I returned the mower to Lowe's; I have owned it for 1 year 1 month so it's still under warranty. Lowe's sent the mower to Lanier someplace down in GA who of course works for Husqvarna. They have had the mower since May 15th; in a few days, it will be 4 weeks. Meantime grass is not getting shorter. Rider has been used a total of maybe 6 times mowing flat grass with nothing to hit. Now we are being told that the blade falling off is not a warranty issue (luckily he was not injured or we would have another issue). I don't know about you but I don't believe blades should just fall off any mower much less a $2000 mower used so little. Husqvarna mechanics, I am hearing through Lowe's, are stating in their diagnostics report that the lawnmower hit something. The only possibility of anything being hit would have been a clump of grass, a small stick, or possibly though not likely a small rock of which none should make the blade fall off and so violently.
We are waiting for a return call from Husqvarna (they have not returned my calls and when I call them, I am put on hold for long periods of 30 minutes or more). There is no customer service from Husqvarna. Lowe's corporate office customer service has called me and appears genuinely nice but is he really concerned? We will see. I am waiting.
We know many people that would be prospective buyers of Husqvarna lawnmowers. If I have anything to say about it, I will be sure to sway them away from these horrible products. I wish that I had found this site before purchasing such a piece of crap. Oh and by the way, I also purchased a Husqvarna push mower style weedeater. It worked great for a few weeks and suddenly quit and will not crank or anything so that's next to go back. I'm not feeling good about any of this due to the way things have been handled so far.
What happened to good ole fashioned customer service? Husqvarna is willing to lose potential customers and many sales rather than admit to poor quality and spend a little to fix their shoddy products. Buyers beware, steer way clear of Husqvarna products especially lawn mowers. I'm very angry and disappointed.

In 2006, I bought a 42" Craftsman LT3000 built by Husqvarna. It has the single cyl. Briggs 20HP Intek Plus I/C motor and Hydr. trans. I mow 3 large yards with it. Once I ride my mower 5 blocks to get to pull a wagon holding a push mower and trimmers etc. In 7 years, here’s what’s been done other than oil/greased/filters/sharp blades each season.
First issue at 4 years old: In 2010, I replaced deck belt - squealed in damp grass/still cuts but was annoying. In 2011 replaced blades with Gator Mulch blade. Wish I done it when it was new. Great blades cut much better than OEM! In 2012, I replaced the battery. In 2013, changed right front tire out – it kept leaking – That’s it! It’s been a wonderful mower and has never leaked/used any oil.
1) I keep grass off its deck because that shortens belts/pulley life. 2) I remove the battery and battery tray at the end of every season to charge and clean grass away from fan on top of rear end because grass buildup blocks air and over heats hydro rear ends. Did you know there’s a fan under your butt? It’s not to dissipate farts… LOL. 3) I grease all steering gears/axle zerks and change oil every spring or fall. 4) Turn gas off and run carb dry every fall to keep gas from gumming up in carb. 5) I keep tires aired up.
This is all I've ever done to keep my Husqvarna going... It’s really all maintaining the mower. Grass buildup can cost one a lot of money in repairs. It’s "very" important to clean it off your deck/hydro. I have a friend who has the LT2000 model a few years older than mine. He was surprised I had to replace the deck belt. He still has his original belts on his after 10 years or more. But like I said, it still cuts fine. It annoyed me squealing in damp grass. I cut grass early morning its cooler.
I know Kohlers had cracked blocks. They started making their motors in China years ago. I've had Briggs and Kawasaki. I prefer Kawasaki but the wife and wallet makes me buy the Briggs. It’s been a fantastic mower and I'd buy another one like it in a flash... shocked to see so many bad issues on them here. I also have a Husqvarna weed eater (Lowe’s) that I've used 3 years now without a failed start on 2nd-3rd pull. Runs great! Hope I helped someone?
BTW: Cracked frames you read about. It’s usually from larger riders riding them up ramps loading them in trucks/trailers. It happens to about every brand of mower. If you’re big, say 225+ lbs, do not ride mowers up the ramp. Push it up! A JD dealer told me that years ago when I owned one of those. JD, now those are problem mowers… $$$.

Did Husqvarna "grind" such a deal with Briggs and Stratton on these motors? That B&S can't (or won't) honor its commitment or were they "closeouts" to begin with? I have never, in 60 years of life, heard of anything like this! Is "Husqy" going to discontinue the model, update it with substitution engine and reintroduce in the fall (2014 MY)? The Honda is 18 years old and has only been in the shop for routine maintenance. My daughter was complaining about how hard it was to use the mower. The self-propelled would not disengage when pulling the mower backwards. You have to lift the rear wheels off the ground, engage, and then disengage the drive unit to get the system to release. The knobs fell off; the clipping bag falls off. The wheel height will not stay in place so the deck drops down and scalps the grass. It was still under warranty so I took it 30 miles down the road to get it repaired, and the first time she used it nothing had been fixed.
They didn't replace the missing knobs. Since then, the gas leaks someplace; the rear axle height shaft broke so when I welded it, I saw the poor quality of the welds someone had put on. The air filter case is broken; more parts have fallen off the bag, and this is the engine of all the powered equipment I own that I have to prime in the spring to get running. It has an auto choke system that doesn't work as well. The part that really upsets me is that you cannot talk with anyone who makes more than minimum wage. Husqvarna has no customer service. After two weeks, I was told the problem was with the mower's carburetor; it was repaired and returned to me. On 6/20/2011, the mower stopped running and I had to return it to Sears. The problem was again the carburetor; it was repaired and returned to me after 2 weeks. On 10/8/2011, the mower stopped running and I had to return it to Sears. The problem was the carburetor; it was repaired and returned to me after two weeks.
On 5/1/2012, the mower stopped working. I returned it to Sears and they told me it was yet again a problem with the Carburetor. It was repaired and returned to me on 5/19/2012. I have since purchased a Toro lawn mower. On 10/6/2012, I decided to use the Husqvarna and the mower stopped running after a short period of time. I will not be returning it to Sears; I know what the problem is. Based on the number of problems with the same component and the constant returns and long periods of time without a mower, I would not recommend the purchase of a Husqvarna lawn mower.

After two years of relatively light use, my Husqvarna Chainsaw 455 Rancher suddenly wouldn't start. I took it to an authorized service center who after examining it, said the engine had seized. He said the fuel mixture was set too lean causing insufficient lubrication in the cylinder. What?! Firstly, I never adjusted the fuel mixture because I didn't know how. Secondly, the manual says there is a factory installed 'limiter' cap on the mixture adjusting screw to guard against inadvertent damage to the engine caused by improper adjustment.
So tell me how the engine could seize if there is a factory installed safeguard? Dealer couldn't tell me. He said that the limiter may have been defective. Since the saw is just out of its two year warranty, the service center could do nothing for me. So, I'm out nearly $400 on a saw that has to be trashed. I bought a Husky based on its brand reputation, in which after reading all the negative reviews and my own experience, I will replace this saw with a Stihl.

On 8/6/2012, I took the tire to my dealer for a repair and was told the cracks in the tire were delamination and was a problem to be handled by Husqvarna. He called that day. I have called about the status of the tires and was told today (8/17/12) that it would be 4 to 5 weeks for Husqvarna to correct the problem. The dealer is handling it for me. If I had both tires and rims, I could solve the problem at one time. Now, I have to pick up one tire and then take the second tire to the dealer. This is a lousy way for Husqvarna to handle a problem.

I have owned a Husqvarna Riding Mower LGT 2654 for 3 years and have had a number of problems with this product. First, I had problems with the Lowe's in Gonzales, LA giving away my owner's manual. Long story short, they had 2 mowers, one was outside and one inside. The manual outside was soggy wet. Both mowers sold on the same day but I had to get a trailer to get mine home. When I picked mine up later in the day, there was no manual.
My real problem is with the mower. In the first year, I had to replace the deck belt once, excessive backfiring, and the engine stopped running. I discovered the push rods for the intake and exhaust valves came loose. Forget using the warranty - it took 3 months to get them to even look at it. I made the repairs myself. In the 2nd year, you better own a welding machine, deck wheel brackets x3 , replaced deck belts x2, deck adjustment rod fell off and went under the mower. The deck bent a blade and destroyed the rod. I replaced blades and rod.
Now we are early in year 3 and I have cut about 8 times. I had to replace the spindle for the left deck pulley 2 weeks ago and yesterday I replaced the deck belt for the 3rd time this season (belt # 6). It still backfires but not as bad as before I made repairs to the push rods. As for the headlights, they are just for looks. What a joke. This mower has never had the power that I expected and it has never had an even cut. My old Murray had more power and cuts better. I just can't get parts anymore.
I will never purchase another Husqvarna. If you choose to purchase one, you better be a mechanic, welder, and electrician. As for the couple of people who claim to have had no problems because they take such good care of their mower, well, mine got washed, oil changed, greased, and checked as required by the owner's manual (once I got one). So consider yourself lucky.

To start, I work at Lowe's on the Assembly Department. I know what you're thinking, but trust me, I hate working there more than you hate the store. From my experience, Husqvarna is a bad brand. They arrive pre-built, all I do is cut 4 sides of a box and roll the mowers off a pallet and into the parking lot for a 30 second test run to make sure it starts, goes forward, backward, blades engage and the brakes work. Then, it sits until the gas burns empty and it goes out to be sold. That being said, I am the one, at least at my store, who goes over the mower before it leaves for repair and I can tell you now your problems are not uncommon at all.
On average, 1 out of 4 will have a flat tire before I can even test drive it. Another 1 out of 8 will be back with a bad tire the first month of use. Then there's the rotting tire issue you could face (I actually got an email that in short, said Husqvarna tires are fine. If you have people, who claim to have rotting tires, it's not our fault. But because they claim it's a problem, we will replace them if they ask.). If you make it through that phase, 1 in 10 will have a fuel/carb issue that needs to be addressed in the 1st year. If you have a 46in Husqvarna, check it out. They had to recall them for a gas issue this spring (2012). If you have a chainsaw, it's realistically 1 in 2 that has a fuel issue (fuel line or cap or primer bulb). 1 in 8 have a chain slip problem with their saws.
About the same number, 1 in 8 have issues with transmission/transaxle problems on mowers. I've seen decks fall off, welds snap, the steering wheel is never aligned correctly with the front wheels and can't be adjusted easily. That's just the things I can remember right now at the moment. I won't even start on the push mower and Poulan Pro stuff that's produced by them. Now for those who get pissed at Lowe's, you should. This is something that you should be. If we treat you like **, tell them you want to speak to a district manager to file a complaint or do it online (it affects the bonus payout of the store manager and above so they get all annoyed and do anything possible to try and fix the problem).
Those who claim that Husqvarna isn't at fault for using 3rd party products under their brand are only kidding themselves. Husqvarna is essentially making a claim that they manufacture quality products. If they believe this claim, they should use quality material. Saying it's the transmission company's fault doesn't address the reality that someone at Husqvarna chose that company to partner with that product.

Husqvarna 390XP chainsaw - Piston/cylinder melted during the second tank of gas. The service center could not determine the cause, but replaced cylinder and piston. After 8 more tanks of gas, the engine seized. The piston/cylinder burned up again. The service center reported a metal support between the carb and head was missing from the factory. During the first repair, the technician noticed it missing and thought they changed the design. They explained that after the saw warmed up, it would allow air to leak into the head causing the saw to run too lean and too hot. As this was a factory error, I expected an apology or a new saw, but received neither.
I paid $1,100 for this factory defect saw and would be lucky to get half of that for this saw that has burned up twice. I asked for a refund or a new power head but Husqvarna would do neither. They said it would still be covered under warranty, but I would rather be cutting logs than waiting for repair service. At this point, I do not trust this saw that has been exposed to extreme heat twice and have to baby the saw or take a loss and sell it. Problem with blade and bolt falling off new Husqvarna GTH26V52LS Garden Tractor, three times in the 1st year of ownership: Will Husqvarna wait until someone is seriously injured or killed by loose blade? I am angry and dissatisfied. I have contacted the corporate offices as well as the dealership and their home office with no response.
On 6/2/11, I purchased a new Husqvarna GTH26V52LS Garden Tractor from STI Turf Care in Colfax, NC. The 2nd day I used the mower with only 5 hours on it, a blade and bolt dropped from the mower. I never heard anything and had mowed a while before I saw the blade and bolt on the ground, together with bolt threads up from the center of the star hole of the blade. I mow a lot of grass and my lawn is certainly not a golf course, but was on smooth and level ground when this happened. The dealer was not going to even come and pick up the 2-day old mower with only 5 hours on it or cover under warranty. They insisted I must have hit something to shear off the bolt. I did not.
After planning to return the mower for full refund, the dealer finally agreed to pick it up and make repairs. I'm sure they put the same blade and bolt back on the machine. Then in October 2011 (5-month old mower with 88 hours on it), a blade fell off again and I found the bolt within one foot of the blade. Perfectly smooth and level ground once again. The dealer again flatly refused to pick up the mower and make repairs under warranty. I misplaced the bolt in my garage and they priced a new one for $10.00 (no warranty since it had to be my fault per the dealer). I went to LTD in King, NC and bought a new factory bolt for under $6.00. The local repairman I have always trusted to service three John Deere and Toro Wheelhorse (I have used on the same grounds past 15 years without ever having a blade fall off in any of them!).
He made the repair, sharpened all the blades and serviced the machine. I decided after their ripoff price for the part that should be warrantied, overall poor service attitude and not standing behind their product, I would not deal with STI again. All went well until yesterday, 6/16/12, with 111.5 hours and just over one year old, the blade fell off again on perfectly smooth and level ground. As with other two times, no noise or any idea blade was off until I came around and saw it on the ground. This time, I cannot find the bolt. I am extremely aggravated and disappointed considering the price I paid for this machine. I am not abusing the tractor or subjecting it to anything or anywhere my two JD or Toro have gone before. Cutting at 2.5" to 3" and no obstacles. This problem is not from the operator; it has to be a mechanical defect. I have not marked the blades so I have no idea if it is the same blade each time. What do you suggest? I received no help from dealership.

I've spent countless hours on the phone with the shop where we purchased it (The Mower Outlet in Mooresville, IN) and with Husqvarna customer service. I set it up for the winter and took it to Lowe's in the spring of this year to have it sent off and repaired. After about a month, I received a call from the authorized service center telling me that the repairs were not covered under warranty. Caller said that there was excessive moisture in gas, therefore, diluting the oil in the mixture, and scouring the cylinder walls and trashing the carb.
I used the Husky oil purchased at Lowe's and followed instructions on type of gas and mixing. I mean, seriously, I have only been mixing 2-cycle oil for 25 years, and have never had a problem in the past. I have been told that gasoline with ethanol will cause a problem such as this, as the ethanol will evaporate leaving excessive moisture in the gasoline. If this is the case, why does Husky not publish this in their 2-cycle manuals so consumers will buy ethanol free? I told the caller to take the blower out back and toss it as far as they could, and I would go buy an Echo blower to replace it. I went by Lowe's today to pick up the thing, as they would not even dispose of it as I asked.

The new yth20k46 lawn tractor was bought new with 60 hours on meter because the geniuses at Lowe’s left the key on. The carriage bolt for shield under front of the deck fell off first time mowing. It swung back and hit the blade. The blade was bent. Also, the blade dug into the ground and snapped the mandrel, bringing mower to screeching halt and almost throwing me off.
4 weeks of trying to get it repaired resulted in a new yth21k46, after nearly going ballistic with their service rep on the phone. Fast forward to 84 hours on the new one and bang! I look down to see the deck being dragged sideways after left supporting bracket simply broke off the deck, defective welds. You can clearly see that one had been cracked/broken probably since new and the other just fatigued and finally snapped at a whopping 84 hours. In order to keep from voiding my warranty and repairing it myself (which would have taken 5 minutes), again I wasted another month trying to get it resolved. The welds the service center put on this thing look like my 11 year-old did them. I can hardly wait for them to break again as I'm sure the whole flimsy surrounding area is now brittle from too much heat.
I waited the last week for them to “finish up” and finally drove the 45 miles to the shop to find out they were just waiting for the claim to be approved. Seriously?! Hope it worked out for them, because I came home with my mower! Something about welding on the deck done by a “certified welder”! What like the factory? I'm sure anyone out there who knows a thing or two about welding would only shake their head and scowl at the photos of how they “fixed” this deck.
So, to sum things up, two spring growing seasons spent without a mower for a month each time. You can bet I'll never buy another one of these orange pieces of junk. Next year, I can only assume it'll be the same thing. Unless of course, we have a severe drought in which the grass doesn’t grow. Another peeve, the discharge chute arrangement stinks, unless you like everything you mow to be left in clumpy and piled up streaks of cut grass all over the yard. It looks like, well, you get the idea.

As it was still in warranty, I took it to an authorized repair center, Maximum Outdoor Equipment Service. Although I had prepared the mower for storage last fall by putting a fuel stabilizer in the gas tank, as described in the owners manual, I was told that the mower wasn't covered by warranty because the carburetor had gummed up. Apparently, the information in the manual was inaccurate and that a fuel stabilizer should never be used in a mower gas tank.
I pointed out that the owner's manual said to use stabilizer but I was told that it was erroneous information and that they were compelled to honor the warranty because Sears had their logo on the back of the book. I then went to Sears and was told that since Husqvarna had published the book, Sears could not be held responsible for the information in the manual.
Additionally, I understand there's a bulletin from the factory regarding a fault in the carburetor on this model. So far, this farce has cost me $105 for something I feel should be covered by warranty. Your timely response with any help or guidance you can provide would be very much appreciated. However, I feel that I must tell all of you that I own several units of Husqvarna power equipment (chainsaws and mowers) that have operated flawlessly for many years. I am not the only one who is happy with their Husky either. My equipment has been properly maintained by authorized service centers and myself as per the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual. I use the recommended additives, fuels, oils, grease and filters for maintenance. They were bought from authorized dealer/repair centers that properly assembled the equipment from the beginning, not Lowe's employees that I doubt have any training or very little at best on proper assembly (not the employees' fault).
A cheaper price is not always a better buy my friends! As for the axle and engine troubles with riders, everyone who makes anything makes a mistake now and then. It's not a personal attack against you, Husqvarna relies on others to build quality components to mate to their equipment. As a result, Husqvarna suffers from disappointment also. I know your problems are your main concern and they do matter, but read the reviews from the Husqvarna website for the product you are wanting to buy or already own. You will see a pattern of where things were purchased, how they were maintained and operated and the problems that soon followed. There are instances where the product just failed to meet standard, Husqvarna is not perfect. I have just never encountered one of those instances where they failed me.

I love Husqvarna. I work at a dealership. Half the complaints on here are motors or trannies that husky doesn't build or have parts for. You should be yelling at the tranny company or motor company about the faults. The 235-240 chainsaws are poulan built. Don't buy them. Get a 435. Way better! I have a 15 year old husky chainsaw and a 15 year old husky tractor, as well as a 20 year old trimmer.

I bought a Husqvarna 2654, three years ago. While cutting the grass, the tractor stopped moving. I discovered a broken rear axle. I contacted Lowe's, only to be told that the axle could not be replaced. I would need to replace the whole transaxle. I made several calls to Husqvarna asking questions. They also told me, that these axles could not be replaced. They told me that I needed a $1,200.00 transaxle. After three days of phone calls, I discovered that the axle, as well as transaxles, were made by a company called Tuff Torque. When I called them, (a number which Husqvarna refused to give me), they explained to me that each and every transaxle they sell can be worked on, and the axle I needed could be replaced.
The cost of the axle, seal needed, and shipping was only $45.00, and the female I spoke with on the phone, had the knowledge to explain everything I needed to know to fix the problem. She explained that if it has bolts, it is not a sealed unit, as reported by Husqvarna, and could be taken apart. The part arrived in two days, and it took about two hours to fix. When I called the Husqvarna's home office, and spoke to a person identified as a vice president, I explained what I had been told by the company, and he agreed. Then, I explained what I had been told by Tuff Torque. He seemed surprised. I then told him that I had made the repairs myself, (I am no mechanic, but this was a simple job). He started stammering and stuttering.
A couple of weeks later, I received a gift certificate in the mail from Husqvarna, which I promptly threw away. I will never buy another thing from Husqvarna, nor Lowe's. In my opinion, they are both nothing but con artists, ripping the Americans off. If you, or anyone you know has a problem with these mowers, don't believe Husqvarna, nor Lowe's, and don't believe the "authorized dealers" and "service centers" either, as they are trained by Husqvarna, and the mechanics are told and trained that these axles con not be fixed, so they are not allowed to even attempt it. After logging in more that 50 more run hours this past summer, I am pleased to report that the axle that could not be replaced, according to Husqvarna, is still working just fine. My hat is off to a company called Tuff Torque, for good old honesty, and for the help.

I purchased a new Husqvarna saw from Lowe's and use it twice. On second, the use of the engine seized mechanically. I contacted Lowe's for repair. The service advisor tried to say I used too much oil in the gas mix and caused the failure.
As a mechanic for over 30 years, I informed him that a rich seize was not possible. Foul the plug, maybe, excess smoke, probably, seizing; no way! Authorized to take to local service center. I was informed that the saw was three years old and out of warranty. Produced my (6-month-old) receipt as proof of date.
After several weeks of wrangling on the part of the service center, I was authorized to do repair. I found that the wrist pin clip had fallen out and allowed the wrist pin to become lodged under the cylinder. Okay, problem identified and repaired. I was informed by repair center that the carburetor should be replaced for $175, thanks. I got the saw back and sold it on e-bay for 50 cents on the dollar. I went to real chain saw dealer, bought it and it works awesome; 30 cords in and no problems. Never again for Lowe's or Husky!
I lost $200 and got way too much aggravation.

The customers don’t know this, they think they are getting the genuine Husqvarna product with parts that are to specifications – not true. I am very confident I will be able to steer away at least 10 customers easily. I have done this type of tactic before, and it worked great. I bought a Husqvarna garden tractor from Lowe's less than 3 years ago. I also purchased the extended warranty. All in all, I spent around $3,000.00. This past week, I was mowing my yard and I was just rolling on cutting the grass and my mower stopped moving. The engine was running but I just sat there. I turned it off, checked underneath to see if I threw a belt. I had to take the grass catcher off to get a better look and I noticed my left rear tire/wheel was slanted. I took a hands-on check and sure enough, it wasn't a belt I threw.
The lawnmower repair called me today and told me the axle was broke in the transmission. I needed a new transmission. After doing some checking, I found that this is not a unique problem with Husqvarna. There are many others that this has happened to. I called Husqvarna and the person I talked to immediately told me that I need to call the maker of the transmission. I told him the tractor said Husqvarna's on it, so that was who I called. He started in with the "if you read your warranty" **.
Further checks revealed that the axle was only 3/4 inch. It wasn't rated for the size engine that comes on the tractor, the size deck that comes on the tractor or the size tires that come on the tractor. Further investigation is developing a picture that seems to reveal that Lowe's put together the tractor they wanted to sell, so Lowe's requested a smaller axle. But if you talk to Lowe's, they'll tell you a different story. Husqvarna will tell you a different story.
I am going to tell you this story. Do not buy Husqvarna products, they do not stand by or stand up for what they sell. Do not shop at Lowe's, they cheapen products to increase profits and I will do my best to get as many consumers to buy something other than Husqvarna or shop at Lowe's.

The blower still would not start. I located my local authorized service center & took it in for warranty service. I received a call that Husqvarna would not cover repairs under the 2 year warranty listed in their manuals, web site etc.
Husqvarna is claiming the carbon build up in the cylinder was due to a fuel related issue that is not their problem. The fuel is a 93 octane with a 50:1 ratio, just like they suggest in their manuals. This is also the same fuel that has worked fine in 2 Poulan blowers that lasted 5 years each & were cheaper models. The fuel is also used in a Ryobi string trimmer that is eleven years old now & still runs great.
I paid suggest retail price for the product & it lasted fourteen months and Husqvarna is showing no concern about the quality of their product, their reputation or providing customer service.
The one positive experience is the representative I spoke with. She was extremely nice, polite, and professional and called me back each time she promised a call back.

My suggestion: know who you're buying from. Your local dealer has a much better relationship with the company. They know the equipment better than the salesperson at a big box, who may very well have been the lot attendant the day before he was selling mowers. Try to find a dealer who is also an authorized repair facility. And most importantly, know your equipment. It's only as good as how it's taken care of.

I bought the Husqvarna 23 HP 48-inch cutting deck with the Briggs and Stratton engine (model 960450005). I have had it for three years and have had nothing but trouble from the unit and trouble from Lowes in getting the issues resolved.
Living in KY, it is not always possible to wait for the grass to be 100% dry due to the heavy spring rains. If I did, the grass would be 4 feet tall and the mower doesn't like tall grass either. So, basically I end up mowing two to three times, taking off the top four inches and keeping with it until it is cut.
So far, the deck mounting bolts have sheared off. I could not get Lowes to come to get it for repairs in a timely manner, so my son came and I got it and dropped it off on their doorstep. They had the mower for better than two weeks and it had not been sent out. I complained about the grass being so high and they sent me a little off-brand mower that I quite honestly don't remember the name of. But it cut the grass after having grown three weeks and did a better job than the big one. The Huskie has an uneven cut as well. I was told the deck was not adjusted correctly, but it was the way it came from the store and did no better after a couple times of usage after I got it back from repairs.
I was not charged for repairs as they deemed the sheared off bolts was no fault of mine since my land was so flat. I kept having problems with it, so my son finally looked at it and found the fittings had not been lubricated. Also, the dirt and grass kept cementing itself on the underside of the deck and the engine does not have the power to expel the grass out the port. If I tie the protective flap up, it does better; but this is dangerous and I don't like to do it. I have no choice, though, when the grass is long or else it chokes out the engine.
Also, I had one of the deck washer ports installed as I noticed the next year models of the mower came with them installed. Again, this helps, but I am very disappointed in that my 15-hp White, which I have had for nine years, will still mow circles around the bigger, "more powerful" mower. The only positive thing I can say is that when I can get it to run, it cuts about an hour off my mowing time.
If I had it to do over, I would never waste my money on Husqvarna. I had heard all sort of good things about this company and I figured I could not go wrong purchasing it from Lowes. Sad to say, I was wrong on both counts. The deck still shakes like it is going to fall apart and it continues to stall out and the stress on the belts to move the three blades cuts the power of the blades and does not expel the grass. I am retired and cannot afford to buy a new riding mower after only three years of inadequate service. To summarize my account of this product—save your money! If I could find another White like my old one, I would definitely buy another one.

We purchased a LT1597 Husqvarna ride-on mower on 12/12/08. Upon getting it home, we started the machine and it immediately backfired. I discovered there was no oil in it. It's bonnet was broken too. Each time we turn it off, it backfires continuously. We told the dealer about this.
He said, " don't worry that always happens" and he told me to put the rev's up to medium. It has always cut the lawn irregularly (looks choppy). On first service it was blowing smoke and the deck was rattling whenever I started it. I said I was specifically worried that the blades were not right and I was worried about something flying off.
The dealer said he would look at it. I asked him if there was any problem with it when I collected from the shop and they said everything was fine and that the blades weren't loose and that there was no reason for it smoking. They said there was no problem with the rattling deck also. But the deck belt flew off. I had to take the machine to the shop myself. They said it would take weeks to look at.
It is now 24/2/11 and the warranty has just expired. The machine has gone to the shop again and we have been told it needs $450 worth of repair. The dealer said that the part that is making it backfire is faulty and that they will have to replace it with a second hand one. This mower cost $3000 and we are not happy that second hand parts have been put on it and that all work has been done by Maleny mowers without our consent as we requested a quote only.
Now they laugh and tell us that we must have changed the blades ourselves because they are on upside down. No, we didn't and we do not appreciate being told we are liars by those taking our hard earned dollars. Having now read the Husqvarna complaint site, we can expect many more problems with our machine and we only pray that parts will not fly off and kill our children or that we will explode in a ball of flame somewhere up the back paddock. Obviously Husqvarna is a "scam" company utilizing its dealers to perpetuate their scam internationally, with no regard for its customers health and safety. This is a serious situation and we wonder what can we do.

We purchased a Husqvarna Riding Lawn Mower Model LOGTH2448T last May 21, 2006 from Lowes in Clarksburg,West Virginia. In June of 2008 it had to be sent out to have a transmission installed in it. It was covered under the extended warranty that we bought from Lowes. The warranty expired in May 2010. In Nov 2010 I had taken the mower out to do my trash. When I was done, I shut it off and went inside my house. However, when I came out and started it up, it wouldn't move so my first thought was that my transmission had gone out again. My son came out and looked under it to check if he can see what was the problem. He said it's not going anywhere because the frame is broken. And sure enough it was broken on both sides, just in front of the rear axle.
We bought this mower for its dependability and reputation. And as for durability, their company ad says Tough Name Tough Equipment Durable Steel Chassis for Long Lasting Service With a Robust Steel Frame. It's a big joke. And I know that I am not the only person with this problem on your site. There are a lot of other people who have had problems with the transmission and frame and it was bought at Lowes also. And Husqvarna said that it's too old and has too many hours.
My mower is only 4 years old and has 253 hours on it. Are they saying that I spent $2500.00 on a mower that is only going to last for 4 years? So to me their advertising is false. And any mower should last more then 4 years. It's never been misused and had I known that we were going to have all of these problems, I wouldn't have bought it. So a word to the wise, don't waste your money on a mower when the company will not stand behind a major problem. I am not giving up because I know that there are more people with the same problem.
The shop, Parcs Equipment US Rt at 50 Salem, WV (304-782-4111) that checked out my mower told me that they had fixed 3 with cracked frames over the summer 2010. And Husqvarna company itself told me that there was a problem with their frames, it didn't have support on that area and that the new frames were made heavier. So something needs to be done so that people like me that can't afford to have something done can get somewhere. I am not very good at getting my point across but hopefully you can understand me. Nobody has called to let me know what is going on. When I called them, I got a runaround; they are checking on it, they are working on it.
Now, after two weeks, they have to check with Husqvarna to see if it's under warranty. After 2 weeks, they have to check about the warranty. What's wrong with checking on the warranty when it comes into the store? They talked down to me, acted as if I'm in the wrong for wanting my mower fixed and returned, like I'm supposed to just be patient and let them take as long as they want. I paid $1700 for this mower and used it for 14 miles and now, I'm just supposed to be patient! The last thing, after I called Lowe's in Staunton today, I was told that they are waiting on Husqvarna and that it takes Husqvarna several weeks to confirm or not the warranty. This is poor service from Lowe's, Max Power Sports and Husqvarna. I wonder why customers are frustrated and dissatisfied.

We also purchased a 20 hp 48" Husqvarna lawn tractor from Lowe’s in 2006. It’s the very first riding mower we ever purchased. I bought Husqvarna because we thought it was a good name. It had a Kohler engine, another good name, and it was sold by Lowe's, a big name that advertises quality products.
Early this summer, we noticed a small puff of smoke when the engine warmed. Our mechanic looked over the mower and found a crack in the engine block. With only about 185.8 hours on the machine, you can imagine how shocked we were about this. For what we paid for this mower, I would have expected to get at least 10 years out of it. We just happened to check out this web site and we were even more disappointed and upset by all of the complaints for the same problem.
We have not contacted anyone yet, but we plan to. No matter what, we will make sure that we let everyone we know that they should not buy this product. We'll think twice before making a major purchase at Lowe's as well. It is getting to be a common story that manufacturers are failing to back their products. Gee, can you say, "Class action suit?”

In the one year since purchasing the model number YTH20K46 riding mower, it has suffered two mandrel failures and one belt engagement cable break. Now the gas tank is leaking from multiple cracks in the center of the bottom of the tank.
I thought I possibly had gotten a lemon until I began researching my situation on the internet. I was astounded at the number of like complaints without any recall action from the OEM. It’s a very costly, unreliable piece of equipment with absolutely no assistance from the OEM in correcting the multiple problems brought about by inferior design and engineering.

I guess they have gotten to many complaints because it is impossible to find a phone number to call them so I could talk to a live person.

They told us to take it to the Eastcoast appliance to get it repaired. They pick it up for $55.
I could not take the mower to the shop. It doesn't not fit into my car. Anyway, they keep the mower for a week. They return it to us. They told us there is nothing wrong with the riding mower. Of course I was happy to get the mower back running. Well I started to cut grass. The mower did not cut even anymore and it quit running after 30 minutes again. So here I go on the phone and called Lowe's again. They told me I need to call Husqvana.
I did 2 hours later and I got a representative. I explain it to him that the mower is not running again. I want them to fix it or give me a different mower because this one is a lemon. This was on 8/21/10. Well they told me to send it back to repair shop. Well I have to pay again for someone to come and get the mower, that was not fix from the first time. I paid for pick up and now I have to pay again. Anyway on 8/27/10, Husqvana paid for the pickup at this time to get fix again. This time it is still on the repair shop and the shop never call me about the problem on the mower.
I call today. They said there is nothing wrong with the mower. 3 times the mower just die while cutting grass. But they don't know what is wrong. I'm afraid by the time this cutting season and next season, I will spend lots of money to get this riding mower back in the shop.
Do not buy Husqvana. You will not get any help from Lowe's and the manufacturer. I really believe my old riding mower, YardMan, is a better mower. 5 years of using Yardman no problem. When I sold the Yardman, it is still running and first crank. As soon as I can, I will get me a new YardMan again.

I purchased a Husqvarna model #YTH22V46 on 4/24/10. I was mowing my yard, when the motor suddenly died. Upon investigation, I discovered the blade on the left side was tilted out of position. Further investigation proved that the housing mandrel was broken away from its mount.
I e-mailed Husqvarna and got absolutely no response. I did not ask for a replacement part. I only wanted to report that I felt that pot metal was not an appropriate material for this application due to the stresses involved in cutting heavy weeds. The housing mandrel on the right side has now broken. This combined with an unresponsive company has prompted me to place my name amongst those who also have discovered that once Husqvarna has your money, they could not care less about customer service or satisfaction. The belt they used was a bad supply of belts that Husquvarna had received so they came and took the mower back.

I tried to return it to Lowe's because that is where I bought it from and it is still under the Husqvarna 2-year warranty. The first time I contacted Lowe's, they told me that I needed to call Husqvarna. After I made some calls, they finally sent it out for me but now they want nothing more to do with it. They sent it out to Oakboro Tractor to be repaired and they, being the Husqvarna Representative is saying that it is going to cost me $1,000 to fix and are blaming me for the engine locking up. The mower only cost $1,599 new and now they want to charge me $1,000 just for an engine block.
For the record, this engine is no longer used on this mower. It is bad that Husqvarna is willing to lose a loyal customer. All of my lawn equipment is made by Husqvarna. I have a push mower, hedge trimmer, string trimmer, backpack blower and 2 chainsaws. My next investment was going to be a zero turn mower. The dealer would not even consider the return. A few months later, the belt broke off because the underneath sat too low to the ground and the pulleys were full of stuff.
In addition, a few of the tires constantly loose air while sitting! It’s interesting to hear so many others with the same complaint about Husqvarna that I have. I bought a riding mower, a GTH2448T garden tractor which apparently is neither a garden tractor or a Husqvarna, from Lowe’s (also apparently one of the many companies who do not stand behind all the crappy "value model" brand name items they sell) and found out right away that it would not work with ground-engaging attachments as advertised. I let that slide and went on with life, content to pull a cart with it and just use it as a mower. I seem to have had a little bit better luck with it than most, but it is at the three-year mark now and the problems are beginning to turn up.
The parts listed for it on the Husqvarna site are not all correct (main drive belt as listed is 1.5 inches too long), which was determined through trial and error sizing of belts. I even went to a Husqvarna dealer and bought a (non-refundable) belt at over $100 and ordered one through Lowe’s (again, non-refundable) for over $60 (correct part numbers, but it just does not fit). It works for a short time and then will not keep tension. I asked this question through the service section of the Husqvarna website and got the pat answer that all parts are sold through Husqvarna dealers. Well, no - duh! I tried that! The dealer told me in no uncertain terms he would not sell the piece of junk model that was being sold through Lowe’s, Sears, TSC, etc.
I sent another e-mail in response to the lame answer given and was given a number to call. Gee, I got the feeling they really care there, too! I am looking to replace this bugger and you can bet it won't be with another Husqvarna! It would be nice if someone made a high-quality machine and didn't charge an arm and a leg for it (maybe charge an arm, but really stand behind the product). I will not recommend Husqvarna to anyone and will not purchase anymore of their products myself. What a shame that this and so many companies that built their reputation manufacturing high-quality pieces of equipment and stood behind the product are now turning out garbage and just trying to make a profit no matter what.

In the spring of 2008, I purchased a 54" Husqvarna lawn tractor at a local Tractor Supply store. Within a couple of weeks, the belt keeper snapped off. I took the mower back to Tractor Supply who had me order the part from a local store and then one of their employees replaced it for me. Within another couple of weeks, the belt keeper broke again and I went back and ordered the piece again but this time, I took the mower to our local warranty tech to fix it because the parts store told me that my 2 year warranty would cover this. The local Husqvarna tech got it fixed, but soon the same thing happened again. Suffice it to say that I spent the summer of 2008 with no mower. As soon as spring rolled around this year (2009), I started using the mower and again, the belt came off and the deck was noticeably tilted and lower. We mentioned that it looked lower last summer, but weren't taken seriously. The deck has continued dropping. Now on a cutting level of 1-7, the deck cannot lower below 4; it is on the ground.
In pure disgust after spending a couple thousand dollars and being repeatedly put off by Husqvarna, I again called the local store that covers warranties. The tech is understandably busy, but there is always an approximately 2 weeks wait time before the issue is even addressed. The local tech again called Husqvarna and told them we have a continuing problem. A Husqvarna company representative was forwarded a phone message in which I mentioned that another mower tech in a nearby town had (2) 54" Husqvarnas in his shop with the same problems. The company representative named David ** called me on the phone with the sole intention of picking a fight and patronizing me. He let me know that he was an engineer, that anybody mentioning factory issues on the mowers was simply dishonest. He yelled at me that their mowers do not have factory problems then demanded, "What is your problem?" I warned him to be careful about how he spoke to me and then he threateningly said the same thing to me.
After hanging up on him, I called the local tech. Very shaken and in disbelief, he was speechless. This total idiot at Husqvarna then called the tech himself, admitted that the conversation with me "didn't go well" and proceeded to inform him of the way to correct the factory flaws on the 54" Husqvarnas....Yes, I was right. There are problems inherent to this model (which is apparently marketed only by Tractor Supply). Sadly, I have spent 2 summers with no lawnmower and several thousand dollars out of my pocket. My money is most certainly an insignificant amount to Husqvarna, yet I considered the purchase long and hard, being a widowed mom of 3. As I have stated to others recently, not only did I make a mistake about the lawnmower model I purchased, I overestimated Husqvarna's treatment of its customers...Never again! I am still without a mower, after 2 summers of high grass, frustration and insults.

When the first belt wore out in year 2 (along with new leaking tires), Sears told me belts and tires are not covered under warranty as they are wear parts and it was beyond the total parts full warranty period. Belts cost $30 to $50 each. I was also not happy with the ragged cuts the 3-blade deck made or the fact that it loads up so easily with grass and needs to be unclogged.
It’s for residential use only and it had about 12 hours on it when the first belt wore out. We keep the grass longer (it's not a golf course), but setting the deck up high does not seem to reduce the quick clogging either. Our previous mower was a 42" wide 2-blade with about half the power and it lasted for 12 years without issues like this. Putting in new blades or re-sharpening does not seem to help either the belt wear or deck-clogging problems. The top area of the deck where the belts are also has a tendency to collect lawn debris that must be removed often. It gets into the belt and pulley area, which is hard to clean out as designed.
Other problems have been reverse wired hour meter (I fixed it), overly sensitive seat switch which cuts out the engine power sporadically when on bouncy terrain (I fixed), and a poor tread traction on the tires (they still leak like new!) that slip on a minor grade, especially on wet grass. There are also rusted out v-belt tensioning springs that needed replacing, screws that shook loose out of the engine cover, cheap plastic that does not appear to be UV stabilized, and a seat that does not lock in place but is held there by the knob friction and so slides dangerously to a new position. The brakes are very weak. The continuously variable transmission sounds like it may wear out due to the constant grinding noise, which it had when new. I hope not. I will not let anyone else but me ride it anymore due to concerns about safety.
All told, I wish I had not bought it. Attempts to seek warranty work done were unsuccessful. I was told that it's too late now or it was not covered. If it was a belt misalignment causing these "wear part" belts to wear out, then it is likely a factory design or assembly problem causing it. I get the idea that warranties are written to exclude most usual problems. I think the belts have always been under-tensioned and they do not have enough allowance for stretch before rubbing on something, need guides to prevent slapping, and more protection from debris. Maybe the pulleys’ radii are too small for this amount of power. The deck and chute clogging is just too much and needs to be studied and redesigned. I think this is part of the belt wear problem. It has just about 60 hours use starting year 4. Next time I buy a "premium" mower, it will be from a place that allows a test run and on normal uncut grass before I buy it and that knows when something not normal if it wears too often, even if the warranty does not.

We bought a Husqvarna lawnmower approximately 3 years ago on July 4th and the mower has only 195 hours and we have had nothing but problems out of the mower. We have replaced the pulleys which you could not get the parts at Lowe's or through the factory. We had to go to Chesnee SC at Western Auto Parts to get the parts and recently another pulley came off binding the blades and we had to replace for the second time and had to replace the blade spindle.
We cannot find a pulley at Lowe's and we don't have the time to run all over the country looking for the part and we cannot afford to have the parts shipped. We paid $2500.00 before taxes for a piece of junk mower and wish to be contacted by someone to talk about the situation and not on the computer. Thank you!

I have a riding Husqvarna (yth2448). It is really bad. I have had it for two years, and I have spent >$1500 in repairs. It is now not running again. The Briggs and Straton engine has had a valve fall off the rocker arm. Later, a head gasket blew. It is backfiring and not running again. The mower seems okay, but the engine is not good. I have always put Stabil in the gas and performed proper maintenance. No more B&S engines for me.

I have a Husqvarna YTH1542 lawnmower and the fuel tank is leaking very badly. The tank is made of two parts and the fuel comes through the joint where the two parts come together. I have heard that there were many cases of the same problem as mine. Is there any way I can get a new tank anywhere? Thank you.

On 5-13-08, I bought a Husqvarna riding mower from the Lowe's store in Waxahachie, Texas. From day one, I became concerned. While starting the mower, it blew out a great big cloud of smoke. It did this every time I start the mower. At first, I thought it was just part of the breaking in process. After a while, I started wondering if there was something wrong with the motor. It didn't take long for me to find out. After putting 24.5 hours of use on the mower (and yes, I did change the oil, and filter, at the recommended intervals), the engine started making a loud clanging noise. I tried to get it to the driveway where I could look at it when it backfired loudly and stopped dead in its tracks. I tried to restart it and got just a whining noise; it wouldn't restart. I cut my lawn with it five times. It was just over 90 days old. The money back warranty had already expired.
I called the Lowe's store to find out what to do. They immediately tried to pass the buck to the manufacturer. I told them I had only used it five times and thought they should either fix it (which I didn't like because I didn't buy a rebuilt mower; I bought a new one) or give me back my money, or maybe just trade me out with another new one. They would have no part of that. They said because I didn't buy the extended warranty, I was out of luck and would have to pay to have it repaired. I told the asst. manager that he could stuff the mower up his ** and I wanted my money back! After a visit to the store with the mower, the manager agreed to have their warranty mechanic shop pick it up and look at it to see if it was a warranty issue. I will forego the result of that experience and just say "If I ever see that guy!" (I don't have a drop of diesel fuel anywhere around my house.) The manager had Lowe's pay for the services of the warranty mechanic and gave me back my mower.
I told the manager he was the only person involved with my problem that seemed to give a rat's ass about doing the right thing. I thanked him and went on my way. I stored the mower for the winter and hoped the mower wouldn't have any more issues. The smoke, however, according to them, was due to me not allowing the motor to run full throttle during break in. I was instructed by the Lowe's lawnmower man to run it full blast all the time. That would stop the smoking motor. I really began to worry after that. Just what did I buy? Six months have passed. Today's date is 5-13-09, the one year anniversary of my purchase.
Now, for the rest of my story - Three weeks ago, winter in North Central Texas had begun to end. The dry grass has kept us under a fire ban and the lack of rain has kept the grass low until now. Three weeks ago, I brought the mower out and used it to cut my niece’s yard next door to my house. I had no problems with the rider. I did get a flat tire and was unable to mow my yard at that time. Two weeks later, I finally fixed the flat and mowed my yard again; no problems with the rider. We have been getting rain and the grass grew pretty quick. So today (5-13-09), I had to cut the grass again. I had about two thirds of a tank of gas and was able to cut the entire back yard, the side of the house, and most of the front when the mower began to sputter. I thought it had run out of gas; after all, I did do a lot of cutting.
While it was sputtering, it was still running so I tried to take it to the stall where I could put more gas in it. But it went about ten feet and stopped running. I had been on it for about an hour and a half. So, I got up off the seat to get off the mower. As I got to my feet, kaboom! The mower exploded and burst into flames. Thank God, I had run most of the gas out of the mower or I'm sure I wouldn't be writing this story. The flames almost caught the house on fire as well. It took me a few minutes to get a handle on the situation. I called 911 and began to fight the fire with the yard hose. It took me almost fifteen minutes to put it out. The fire dept. pulled up about two minutes later. The moral of this story is don’t buy a Husqvarna from anywhere! It could mean your life.

I purchased a YTH20K46 lawn tractor from Lowe's. As I was mowing the yard, I smelled the odor of gasoline. I got off the mower, raised the hood to see gas running out of the tank all over the cutting deck and onto the lawn. We were very lucky there was no fire. After checking the mower, I found the fuel tank had cracked right in the center of the bottom. There is no support for the bottom of the tank. It is just supported by the mounting brackets molded on the side of the tank. This is a safety hazard that everyone should be aware of.

I'm trying to register my new chainsaw. There's a slip of paper that says Husqvarna no longer accepts paper registration as of January 1, 2007. They tell you to go online and choose the product registration tab. The web address has changed and reverts to the new one when you type in what is on the paper/directions. There's no tab or way I can find to register this product (or any product). There's also no phone number to call, just a form to fill out that the user will receive answer from via email. I can't register the product. How will recalls be dealt with? If I have a problem with this, how do I contact them? Assuming it's all dealer-based then?
