I was completely stressed out since another company that I met at an Earth Day event had taken my money, started the job, had multiple excuses why they couldn't finish. For two weeks, they ignored my phone calls and emails. I am so lucky that HomeAdvisor found One-Up Solar who contacted me and completed the job in 24 hours. I wish I had used HomeAdvisor from Day 1 and I wouldn't have lost my money and endured the stress of dealing with a dishonest contractor.

Requested diagnostics and sought repair. Offered three options for quotes. Responded to the first option and had two electrical problems diagnosed and repaired within 1.5 hours and late on Saturday afternoon.

HomeAdvisor is a shady company! I run a business so I called to check on their rates. We're a startup so honestly it was over our budget. No problem there, I told them to check back with me in a couple months. One day I googled my business and a PPC add popped up. I clicked on it thinking someone was using our name. It went to a generic page with a phone number. I called it and it was HomeAdvisor. They set up a PPC add to steal my customers. To think, I planned on using them, I just couldn't afford them yet. So I contact them via live chat. They say they have no knowledge of that phone number belonging to them. So I let the guy know I called and they answered. He says he will pass the information on to his boss. Next day it magically disappears. Stay Away from HomeAdvisor. Shady Shady Shady!

The plumber came at night to fix a clogged sewer line in the basement that was preventing our kitchen sink from draining. He was extremely courteous and professional. He took care of the problem for a reasonable price.

I always use HomeAdvisor for our home projects...been using them since they were called Service Advisor and will continue to use them because you know you are getting professionals who have to meet certain standards to be part of the HA team. Whenever I speak to a contractor I ask them if they are approved by HA. If they say no then I do not hire them.

This service worked out well for me. I got two responses right away. I would use them again for other things.

The job was to waterproof a 12-foot portion of the back of my house (underground). First, Limitless Golden Construction had to dig a hole 4ft x 4ft x 12ft (not an easy task as they had to save many bushes and plants in pots, AND they had to dig around parts of a sprinkler system. Next they cleaned the underground portion of my house with wire brushes and then tarred that section and covered it with plastic. Finally, they refilled the hole, put back the plants and the various parts of the sprinkler system. Three (3) guys worked 4 hours without stopping (I gave them water to drink). Excellent job! 5 stars.

I have used HomeAdvisor 2x and both times I have been very pleased. Response time was almost immediate and vendors called the same night or next day. Great to have a service where the vendors have been vetted and have a history of happy customers.

The mobile mapping app provided to the service company did not map him to my house, it was off by over 30 miles even with a correct address and zip code. This caused him to be 1 hour late that caused me to be 1 hour late for work.

I was recruited by HomeAdvisor salesperson Rich who told me I would receive leads from HA and I would pay for these leads. My main concern to him was I wanted to control how many leads I would get. Rich assured me I would be in full control of how many leads I would get. I told him I would like 10 a month. Again he assured me I could control how many leads I would get and I could turn them on and off at my discretion. So based on that I signed up. He then told me I would go on a conference call and had to answer each question I was asked with a YES no matter what the question was and that it was just to get me entered in their system and someone would call me the next day or so and go over how everything worked and then someone would go over with me how the website worked.

I wish I'd known how easy HomeAdvisor made finding a great contractor. It reduced the risks and frustrations involved in hiring at random and eliminated a lot of time and calls. It was refreshing to find a contractor who was professional enough to return calls/emails and show up and deliver when promised. I'll definitely use HomeAdvisor for future jobs.

I responded to an email from HomeAdvisor asking if I was looking for a landscaper. I completed the form in hopes of getting the names of contractors that I could research and contact to get estimates. Instead, within hours, I began being inundated with emails and phone calls from contractors. I immediately called HomeAdvisor and asked them to remove all of my information and to inform any potential contractors to NOT contact me. I explained that I did not intend to sign up to be solicited. I was told it was taken care of, but the calls continued. I called back again and they said they would again attempt to remove my name and number.

I don't go anywhere else for projects at two homes, in VA and NJ, and have never been disappointed.

While talking with HomeAdvisor on the phone, I had 2 different services that they recommend call me. I ended up hiring the first one I talked to and that worked out well.

I told Mike the electrician to consider a different service. If I had not taken things into my own hands through Facebook, contacting the electrician who said HomeAdvisor never contacted him (HomeAdvisor sent me a cancellation notice) I would have hired someone else. The disconnect between HomeAdvisor and the electrician really stunk.

I like, so far, dealing with HomeAdvisor. They have always recommended at least 3 names and these people were very nice to deal with even with just an estimate of cost of job. Sometimes I didn't take first call and had another estimate which I felt was a better suit for me. But all these people were nice and I like that HomeAdvisor screens them before listing.

I had previously contacted a general contractor to oversee a more extensive remodel project for our master suite. After I got over the sticker shock, I decided to scale back the scope of the project and act as my own general. I used HomeAdvisor to identify subs for painting, tile, glass, HVAC, and plumbing. In every case, I got qualified subcontractors that provided excellent service at a fair price. I have already recommended HomeAdvisor to several friends and will continue to use them for a long list of 'honey-do' projects that I have.

I had dreaded the idea of finding someone to replace gutters. I had one company come out and they told me that plus gutters I needed soffits. Jose said I did not need soffits. Jose explained about the gutters and how they would be installed. Since I didn't need soffits I decided to have gutter guard added. The work was completed a few days ago. Everyone was so professional. Gutters look great and I do not ever have to hire someone to clean debris out again. I am very happy with this project finished.

If home repairs or services are needed I will definitely use HomeAdvisor again for all our needs. I tried it for the first time last week and my request was instantly sent to the best service person in our area, my phone rang immediately. The repair was estimated that day, performed within days & a project that needed repair for at least 5+ years is finally done. The price was very reasonable & we are very satisfied.

HomeAdvisor functioned as an answering service for Grayson Pest Control. Did not realize # in Grayson ad was for a 3rd party service, but they connected me through right away and followed up to make sure I was happy with the service performed.

I want to be clear, my complaint is with HomeAdvisor NOT Ajax Drain. Initially I contracted with a different plumber. HomeAdvisor cancelled the appointment because they could not confirm the plumber would arrive as scheduled. However they sent me subsequent messages reminding me of the cancelled appointment. When I called HomeAdvisor, the agent seemed clueless, not aware of the cancellation. He could not recommend another plumber, saying there was no one else in my area. He also recommended a handyman. I told him I needed a plumber. I found Ajax Drain on my own so I don't know why the HomeAdvisor agent could not find him.

The door was installed well. No problems.

I have only had one bad experience with someone I hired through HomeAdvisor, but I feel that is not their fault. It was mine. After all, I hired this person. I could have easily had the same experience looking through the Yellow Pages. It was a valuable learning experience. The two companies I've hired since then have been wonderful!

I found it interesting that I never really submitted the request. I dropped out of site. However, I still received an email and was contacted by the company. I wasn't too thrilled with the behavior of your site.

I'm really glad I tried HomeAdvisor. I had been cold-calling lawn care businesses in the area and was not having luck finding a good fit. The interface used to send information through HomeAdvisor was easy to use. The business that they recommended ended up being the perfect match and I was contacted within 5 minutes of the submission. I would definitely use this site again for other projects.

Within 2 hours of listing with HomeAdvisor I had three calls from plumbers who were able to do the work and were willing to give me approximate cost over phone. I chose least expensive plumber and was very satisfied with his work and, if the plumbing need arises again, will call him.

I always check with HomeAdvisor when looking to hire professionals to work in our home. I gave them 4 stars because I have received a couple of high bids, but I would have had no problem hiring those people had I not received lower bids from other professionals. Also, a group I hired from HomeAdvisor to do interior painting got a bit sloppy at the end of the job, splattering paint on the floor and splattering wall paint on the trim. I will continue to use HomeAdvisor and recommend them to anyone.

I posted my need and had a response within an hour. I checked out reviews of the proposed plumber and was satisfied he would do a good job. I told him the job and he gave me a complete estimate, which was very reasonable. I was very happy with Daniel's work and his approach to service. I will definitely call him for the next plumbing job and recommend him to friends.

I went to another site, but did not want to pay the fee. I was watching TV when I saw the commercial for Home Advisor and went to the site and was not disappointed. This was my first time using HomeAdvisor. What I really liked about this site is it has the professionals reaching out to you. I had white pages, but that was basically picking names out of a phone book and calling each one up. This tool helped save time and got me connected to professionals who could help me solve my issue.
