HomeAdvisor responded to my inquiry very quickly. Within an hour or two I was getting a response from installers. I chose one of their recommendations and so far it has been a great choice. Time was of the essence as my air conditioning was failing and the weather was hot. From start to finish - I had new air conditioning in about a week.

Have used HomeAdvisor for 2 projects. I like HomeAdvisor because you do not have to pay to use and they give you great referrals with multiple listings to choose from.

I was new to the area and looking for a drywall contractor to do work for a project. Not only was I able to find a contractor to meet my needs the site provided me with information that enabled me to negotiate a fair price. This is the second time I have used this site and has become my go-to site for finding construction professionals.

After I type in the parameters of what I am looking for, HomeAdvisor does the searching for me and contacts the appropriate contractors. I was very pleased with the workmanship of the contractor that I chose.

I have been providing feedback to HomeAdvisor from the beginning. We have been one of their contractors since they started as Service Magic. They send us an e-mail notice mid-week with the reminder that they will be debiting our account for payment of the leads they have provided us. I have told them that it would be much more efficient use of our time if they would just send us the notice with an attached PDF invoice which should include all the billing details, Job # and associated name of the lead, the amount HA charged for the lead, the date the lead was provided, the billing period, and the date on which HA will debit our account for payment. Instead they only give us the total amount of the payment and the date on which the payment will be debited from our account.

I was very pleased with HomeAdvisor. I got 3 quote requests in less than an hour after posting my needs. The company I hired was very professional and did a great job while working around some scheduling issues (on my part).

HomeAdvisor provided 4-5 connections with contractors. One called immediately and got the job. The job was fairly simple for a qualified electrician and cost was reasonable. Thanks!

Dryer vent cleaning - Gave me the name of one business and I went with that one. Very satisfied with the service.

I used HomeAdvisor to find a window repairman with good results. Used to find electrician with good results. I will continue to use them for areas I am interested in working. Right now am interviewing recommended companies for a pool.

At first I was disappointed that the HomeAdvisor website only found one business in my area to perform the job I needed - replace my old roof and gutters. However, the one company that I did find on HomeAdvisor is the one I used because they were better than businesses I had researched elsewhere.

Just wanted to add my serviceman was very knowledgeable about the sprinkler system, but he did not share with me what he was doing with it unless I asked him.

No way could we have achieved quicker results and information on who to contact regarding our leaking water heater.

The job turned out to be much more involved than we thought because Craig found mold in the wall. He is very knowledgeable about mold removal, and was careful to complete the treatment 100%.

I was contacted within 24 hours by three companies. One of those companies was actually trying to sell a "new gutter" solution which was a waste of my time. The other two companies scheduled a time for an on-site estimate. Andan was hired because of their complete professionalism, through the estimate and scheduling process.

The service was available quickly and seemed reasonably priced. They were very nice people. I may use again to help me repair a shed on my property, which they say they can do.

They were very excited to have me sign up as a painting contractor, saying they could get me a lot of commercial work. But the sales guy and my handler are night and day. The guy handling my account is so lazy and it is amazing what a complete waste of money this has been. $270 to start and really crapping leads. They pull $67 out of my account each time for nothing. I just want to take the loss of $404 and get the heck out of this racket. If you are a business owner don't do this. Totally trusted the very excited sales guy and his information was very off for results.

This site took away the scary in regards to contractors. I was able to choose from a variety of contractors with my specific project in mind. I found the background info and reviews very helpful the contractors I contacted for estimates.

Mark came same day and fixed the refrigerator in an hour with no problems. He was very professional and personable.

I've used both HomeAdvisor and Angie's List and there's definitely more value in using HomeAdvisor. I like that providers are notified immediately when I have an issue instead of me calling multiple providers to see if they even do the kind of work I need done and if they are available. This saves me time when it comes to urgent issues. Also, I've had good results from the providers that I've worked with so far.

The program is user-friendly, fast, efficient (unlike another site I'd tried) and response from providers is also rapid.

I have found several great leads through HomeAdvisor and those contractors I've used have been great. However, on my kitchen remodeling project I was contacted by one contractor who it became clear was fraudulent based on my two interactions with him. No actual address for the place of business, use of generic literature, a very unprofessional estimate with no details or pricing and an expectation that I would simply sign off. Unfortunately I can't remember their full name but it was something like Boston Contractors and they were located first in Saugus or Salem, MA then in Malden somewhere.

Floor was in bad shape and they did a great job.

It was very easy to navigate the website. Plenty of reviews were provided. Plenty of contractors to choose from. This is a great website for a young couple buying their first home, which is usually used and don't know how to do these fix up projects on their own.

I have been using HomeAdvisor for about 4 years. I found their website while trying to peruse the internet for a contractor. I like the fact that this is a one stop shop for homeowners. You are free to hire the recommended contractors or find your own. With that, HomeAdvisor vets the contractors so you are getting a quality company to work on your home/project. You can conduct considerable research before hiring a contractor, both on your project as well as the potential contractors. I generally am provided with 3-5 contractors for the projects I have searched for on their website. It's an easy-to-navigate site with a plethora of information. I really like the fact that there is no pressure to select any particular contractor, or any contractor at all. The power is in the homeowner's hands. I have selected a contractor and then after speaking with their rep, gone back to my results and selected another...no problem.

I completed the online form, but did not call that repairman as he was miles away and I was not sure of travel cost. I had a list of people to call locally later that day, but I did not have to. My old water heater was at end of life. The first company's quote came in 300.00 less than the second and the third company I contacted wasn't available in the time I needed. The first company arrived on time and finished close to when they said they would. I am very happy with their work.

Was a good experience. The team of men who did the job were very professional. The owner was at the site. Had a huge limb broken from a walnut tree and 2 other trees that had dead limbs that needed remove. Pleased with their work and cleanup. Would recommend them to others who need tree service.

HomeAdvisor needs to do more scrutiny with their contractors. Fist guy came out. He was late (3 hours). No call like he said just showed up. Stuck his head up in the attic, and said "Yep it's mold. It will cost you $______." No testing. He didn't even step up in the attic. We ended up hiring the second contractor to show because of his professionalism. Glad we did.

I read all your reviews carefully, and was very impressed by one provider in particular. When I called to get an appointment, the HomeAdvisor rep tried to steer me to other providers. I insisted on this one, and then they finally made the connection. I thought the attempted "bait and switch" might be due to variations in how much HomeAdvisor was compensated for different referrals, but the rep told me that there was no charge to the supplier for the referral, that HomeAdvisor charged a fixed listing fee to approved companies, and that was how they got paid--not on any commission scheme.

I went on HomeAdvisor's website and within a minute I got my first call from Global Garage Door and Service. That day Rob came out and fixed my door in less than 15 minutes. Fantastic service!

I use HomeAdvisor for both my house in NY and my brother's house in Fl. I've been using them for several years and they have never steered us wrong. Once we forgot the name of a plumber we used and when we called them they had a record of it and gave us the number.

I was generally satisfied with that one, although I had to be after them to complete most of the work I thought was contracted (not really all of it...). The quality of the work was generally good, although sloppy in a few places.

While we've been very happy with everyone we've hired through HomeAdvisor, we've had problems from each Pro search. Each time we've specifically noted NOT to have them call us -- that we'd contact the Pros after looking into them further. But each time instead the phone began ringing immediately and incessantly. We had at times calls every few minutes throughout the day from some of the Pros. We tried contacting the Pros and left messages in some cases for them to stop. We then contacted Home Advisor repeatedly by phone and through their site and even after they shut down the search and noted for the Pros NOT to call us, some still did... and with such frequency (literally every few minutes all day, every day in some cases) that we had to block the callers and remove ourselves from the search.

They sell your phone number. Put my info in there one time, now at least 4 times a day someone is calling. Never again. Ask friends and neighbors. There is no question they got my number from them. Funny thing is I have house on east coast and west coast. I put in request for east cost for windows, using my west coast phone number. They are confused where the job is. They can't even lie good.

I was, quite frankly, very nervous and reluctant to trust one of these website contractor services - it is SO hard to find a good and trustworthy person to do quality work. But I was stuck - 1,000 miles away from the property (which is a rental) and no existing relationships for the work I needed done. I used HomeAdvisor for lawn care and for paint and wall repair left by the previous tenant on light colored (non-white) walls. Not only did HomeAdvisor personally follow up by calling me and making sure I found what I needed but they asked about the work the contractors did.

I received Globe Pro Restoration's information from HomeAdvisor. When Chris Fulco, the president, came to look at the job site, I asked him if he was licensed and insured. He answered in the affirmative and stated that he was "HomeAdvisor Screened and Approved." He was very responsive to all our questions until we signed the contract and gave him a deposit of $4800. He provided us with insurance, but we later found out that the insurance company he gave us, had nothing to do with his company and that he had no insurance or license of his own. He gave us one excuse after another why he couldn't start the job and to this day I still have not received my money back.

So far this is the first and only time I've used HomeAdvisor, but I'm very satisfied. A contractor contacted me right away and ended up doing a good job.

The old wood had to be removed and new composite material put on the original framing. All worked out beautifully. Thanks HomeAdvisor for the name of the contractor in my area. He worked out fine for our job.

HomeAdvisor's excellent site and helpful reviews helped me to find a terrific contractor for my job. They interfaced between me and the contractor and even sent information on the typical charges for the job, information that helped give me a sense of what to expect. Although I had a bit of trouble submitting a review, when I called the customer service number they provided, I received immediate help, even on a Saturday, and the review went through. This is a terrific service for consumers who need to find excellent contractors to get a job done but don't have much experience with the process. Highly recommended.

Chris did an excellent job at killing the hornets in shrubs in from of my home. It was difficult to get to but, he succeeded after about 2.5 hours. Great job and good follow-up from home office. The cost seemed a little high but, one is paying for quality and that is what I received. Thanks.

Every time I contacted HomeAdvisor I always get quick response. The people they recommend are always knowledgeable and honest. My wife and I have decided to stay with HomeAdvisor for our home repair needs from now on.

We were very pleased with our contractor and his work. But the HomeAdvisor calculator on cost for a new driveway was very weak. It didn't allow for size of project or special type of work being done. The calculator did nothing to help us plan. However, the contractor referrals were good and in the end we were happy.

They found someone who came out immediately, agreed to a price and a few hours later the work was done. Excellent service and contractor.

HomeAdvisor gave me a couple of contacts and I chose one who would give me a free estimate and bought the price in well under another outfit not listed with HomeAdvisor. Contractor did all the agreed upon work and even cleaned up afterwards.

HomeAdvisor was easy to navigate. After entering a description of the project (water heater replacement) I received the names of three plumbing contractors in my area who would perform the work. I recognized the name of one from having seen their truck at a number of my neighbors' homes. The HomeAdvisor user reviews for this plumber were overall excellent so I went with them. Great choice - they did wonderful work at a competitive price. Made my appointment through HomeAdvisor. Received follow up reminder email the day of the appointment and a satisfaction survey at completion of work.

HomeAdvisor.com contacted our company to be a contractor in their system. They did give us leads at an average price of $20 per lead - their salesman indicated that there was a 40% to 70% conversion rate on these leads. However, out of the 70 leads that we received in 3 weeks over 60% didn't even call back. Our company is a high-volume roof repair company - very rarely do we ever get call backs, our experience shows that the no-call-back percentage is less than 5%. Out of those 70 leads, we actually inspected only 10 roofs, with ZERO conversions.

We found Carson Custom Movers through HomeAdvisor and they were wonderful. The calendar on HomeAdvisor provided a time slot that didn't end up working for the company, but we worked it out.

HomeAdvisor promptly referred me to an excellent roofing inspector. They were polite and very accommodating. Thank you!
