I placed the solicitation late one evening and had two responses early the next morning. The first called to politely inform me that they had no one available for the type of work I had requested (light electrical, running wiring). The second came to see the job that morning and gave me a bid. I agreed and by mid afternoon the project was complete. The work was done well and very neatly.

Great service from the appraiser HomeAdvisor referred to me. He was friendly and efficient and great value for money. HomeAdvisor was the best place to go for this type of referral and I would recommend that anyone use HomeAdvisor.

Very good opportunity for vendors that I would not have found otherwise. Costs were more in line with my budget. Work was planned and completed as discussed with great results. Other vendor had a much lower price but was a little skeptical with the low price. Would suggest both vendors to anyone who needs glass repair.

Several puckers in the carpet in 2 bedrooms and connecting hallway due to improper stretching when the carpet was initially installed by original home owner; required that the carpet in those areas be re-stretched. The vendor contracted (of 3 recommended by HomeAdvisor) did a very good job and promptly- no delays as with some contractors I have used in the past.

Great experience and the fan installation was professional. If I have another project in the apartment that needs completed I will use this service. The ability to have a smooth transition was instrumental in having this service available especially since I was new to the area.

I had exterior of my house painted - Including the front door. I had selected two different color paints. (Five Star assisted me with selecting colors.) In addition to power washing the house they power washed the driveway and walkway.

Email contacts successful; HA home phone contacts unsuccessful for failure to leave messages on at least two occasions. First referral unsuccessful because vendor failed to keep scheduled appointment. Difficulty of telephone communication with first vendor's telephone representative due to that person's apparent unfamiliarity with her.

Frankly, I would not have known who to talk to about my plumbing repair needs. HomeAdvisor provided recommendations for three vendors for my review based on my needs, and I hired the most highly recommended vendor. I was very pleased with the work done. Great process!

Old plumbing under the house caused my kitchen sinks and wet bar sink to clog and back up, and I was unable to use my disposal or dishwasher. Running 30' of snake through the sink several times didn't fix the problem. It took expertise to find the problem area under the house and replace the old pipes with new PVC. It was a hot, dirty, unpleasant job, but Jeff got it done.

Paving - First time use. So far I am pleased with the responses from contractors that have responding and in checking reviews most seem to be highly rated. I have other projects in mind and will be using HomeAdvisor. So far I have no reason not to continuing using HomeAdvisor.

I needed garage door repair and tried Angie's List; couldn't access so looked for other ways of finding recommended firms and stumbled on yours. Very helpful; two of the three companies called me within 10 minutes! The last never did. The company I hired did an excellent job; they were expensive but did quality work. I was very pleased both with HomeAdvisor and with The Garage Door Guys.

HOUSE PAINTING - With HomeAdvisor, I was given a time of my choosing for an estimate and the painter arrived a half hour early. Trying to get an estimate by calling Painters Direct, was not always successful and they never arrived at the time they said. HomeAdvisor was a great help to me on more than one occasion.

Upgrading electrical for a tankless water heater - My request was answered by Jason immediately and he gave me a quote the next day which was very reasonable. He was able to do the work when needed and worked very well with the plumber. The work was done in record time.

I was given three top choices to consider, and others if needed. Many companies located on the other side of town only service that area so their search eliminated that problem. Called for an estimate on a repair for poor suction with an old vacuum eleven years old. Tested it several ways and determined the motor wasn't pulling at full force. I then decided to replace the unit instead of wasting time and money repairing an old unit.

Ken's Appliance Repair did not fix my dryer and he should not have charged me for the second call. I gave him $150.00 cash the first time, it worked two times and then same problem. The second time he told me that he didn't have the part and that the second trip would cost me an additional $100.00. I asked him how much the part was, (high limit thermostat), and he was untruthful and said it cost $75.00, which I found out when I went online. I gave him $55.00, and he said he'd get the rest when he came back. I called Home Advisor and told them the various problems that I was having with him.

Ron & Paul did an excellent at repairing the water damage on ceilings. Very well blended with the rest. They were very thorough, on time. Cleaned after. Very pleased. Will hire them again for more painting projects for the rest of the house. Will recommend.

Soffit repair: Very pleased with the handyman referral. Will use Home Advisor to find other professionals. They offer many options to choose from. I like the ratings and reviews provided to assist in making a educated decision. It was also easy to contact a professional and make an appointment.

I have used HomeAdvisor for several years, their contractors are decent. Sometimes you do get a bad one. The problem with Homeadvisor is their morals. They offer a $50 rewards program if you hire and review three contractors. Good luck trying to claim the reward. They make the process as difficult as possible: They take a long time to approve your review (Months!), and when you contact them, they will state "It takes as long as it takes". They also do not let you claim the reward on their website, you must call in to the rewards department. They never pick up the phone! I spent about $10,000 (mostly interstate moving) this year with them, and they rewarded me with aggravation!

I found one contractor who was excellent, but a second contractor made an appointment with me but never showed up and didn't answer my calls. As for the HomeAdvisor website, I had to keep clicking on the Do Not Contact me option. I want to contact the workmen and not be barraged with emails or phone calls. I would prefer to only make this designation once as part of my profile and not have to do it each time I start a new search.

Search for Radon Remediator - This was so easy... fill in your info and what you need and I had several companies call me right away with bids. They also supplied reviews and how long they were in business and made sure they were insured. As a Realtor, they made me look good and I was able to make a professional presentation to my client for selection. The company we selected turned out great!

Great place to get good prices and good worker. I have used HomeAdvisor before when the plumbing broke under the house. This time I needed a ramp for my husband with MS. We found a great difference in prices. We needed one badly and through HomeAdvisor we were able to make life manageable. This is a great site for everything you need and can't do yourself.

Refrigerator broke on night of Memorial Day Monday. I searched HomeAdvisor site on Tuesday night and Action Appliance replied within 15 minutes of my request (very impressive!!!), made an appointment for Wednesday, and J.R. showed up on time to resolve a non-cooling refrigerator, and he also repaired the water valve for the ice maker and water spout. Pricing was very reasonable considering the urgency of the situation. Highly recommend Action Appliance.

A lady called me from HomeAdvisor with your first pick - Parker and Sons to schedule an appt for a routine annual maintenance A/C check up, but none of the other 2 recommendations. The most expensive with a push to eventually submit to buying a whole new unit with new duct work. Made me question where your loyalty truly is and how much Parker and Sons pays you to be on the top of your recommended list. Actually your 3rd recommendation never bothered to even call. Thankfully, Aire Serv gave me a free second opinion not knowing what Parker and Sons said was wrong.

I love HomeAdvisor -- They actually call to hook you immediately with contractor. This isn't the first time we have used them. We plan on using them this summer to refinish our bathroom. We used them last summer for our kitchen remodel for flooring, tiling and plumbing.

4 contractors replied to my request for sod. I was very happy with the crew I hired. They did a nice job and I will be using them for future work. HOMEADVISOR should screen their applicant a little better though.

He called me back, came over the next day and did the job (cellar stairs) the next day as he was in between jobs. Excellently work, very professional. Left the job site very clean. I did recommend him to a friend. He was very honest and fair price.

Through HomeAdvisors connected with Boise Valley Electric, we arranged a date and time for the work and even though they were short-handed due to a worker being injured during the holiday weekend they were still able to make it. A/C tech was great! Our system went down at the start of the cooling season (naturally!!) and we perused HomeAdvisor and they contacted us in 15 seconds!
