HomeAdvisor is a nice tool to use to search for trades professionals to handle projects. We actually hired one of the contractors a second time for a second project, knowing the quality of work would be good. It's nice to have a number of people to choose from to hire for projects based on actual customers ratings and reviews, but just as you would with anything else, you have to make sure they are a good fit and will work well with you.

I had a good experience with HomeAdvisor. It was easy to navigate their site and find the right people for each specific job.

I used HomeAdvisor for the first time because I recently purchased a co-op and needed to get it painted and the floors redone. I hired MIP Contractors and Classic Relocation movers from HomeAdvisor and I am very happy with the service and quality of the work from both. HomeAdvisor pleasantly surprised me by calling to check on my projects, I didn't expect that. I definitely recommend them and I will use them again.

I thought about contacting Angie's list for a project I was about to start. A friend of mine told me to google HomeAdvisor. It's free. I am so glad I did. Fast response and received a great contractor. Thanks HomeAdvisor.

HomeAdvisor was able to provide a local HVAC person whose office was close to my home. He came out the same day to check out the heat pump and provide an estimate.

They recommended a great company. They charged exactly what I was quoted on the phone.

I didn't personally know anyone that worked on heating and cooling units and didn't want to just open the phone book and pick one. I didn't trust that I would find a good one that way. My roommate told me about HomeAdvisor online. I thought since they were putting their reputation as a business out there, they would be careful to make sure they recommended good companies and pros. So, I went to the HomeAdvisor website and read the reviews listed for each company in my area. While I didn't have a lot of money to spend, I went with the one with the best reviews although the rates were slightly higher. As it turned out, his rates were not higher. The next time I need a professional of any kind, the first thing I will do is check with HomeAdvisor for a pro. My experience using them this time was great! I feel like I can trust them and they're the pros they list.

I contracted a roofer through HomeAdvisor. The experience has been an absolute nightmare with a simple one day job extending into its sixth day now and my yard strewn with asphalt, plastic and roofing nails and NO workers in sight to clean up. When I contacted HomeAdvisor in desperation, I was advised by their resolution person that they are simply an advertiser with no leverage other than to stop advertising that company. So much for "screened professionals"! He proceeded to call my contractor (at least he was able to get through when I was not) and made him promise to come and do a good job of finishing. That is essentially the limit of HomeAdvisor's involvement. "I'm sorry, but..." just doesn't do me much good. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!

Was looking for a carpenter in our area to do trim work and beams. Found a wonderful Carpenter and will be using him in the future. Website makes it easy to find good companies to work with.

HomeAdvisor is a predatory company. The sales dept lie about what you really get. The leads are bogus. The pricing is more than I was told. I wish I would have looked at their reviews prior to signing up with them. What a bunch of fakes. Bad experience with them, I'm glad I fired them.

The quality of leads is poor. Customer service is non existent. Call customer service and wait for at least 10 minutes. Try to get a credit for a lead from competitor and you get denied. Call legitimate leads and they never call back. Really dissatisfied and would like to talk to someone to complain but can't get through. Really really bad lead generator.

I have come to the conclusion that if they are not on here I don't use them. Period. Did that and have still got to correct errors left behind.

Replaced light fixtures, changed toilet mechanics, cleared a slow drain (didn't request but happy it was done!) and pressure washed house, drive and sidewalk. Called later about drain and went back to ensure it was operating properly (unheard of, exceptional service!).

I was interested in having my front yard landscaped to add some curb appeal to my home. I didn't know anyone in this line of work so I googled landscapers in my area. I stumbled across HomeAdvisor and I am very satisfied with the experience. The site put me in touch with several highly rated landscapers and they reached out to me immediately. I was able to set up appointments for estimates and within a few days I scheduled my job. Now that the job is complete, I can't be happier with the result. I would definitely return to this site for other jobs I may need help with!

Toilet needed to be replaced. I purchased new toilet and Atlantic Plumbing took care of the rest in approximately 1 hour. Done without a problem.

I went onto the website to look for a chimney sweep vendor. I found two of them. The first one was unable to accommodate my schedule but the second one did. Home Advisor checked on me by email. I will definitely use them again!

I have dealt with this a few times, very frustrating and expensive! HomeAdvisor has my budget, leads are charged to my credit card automatically... then sent over for zip codes we signed up to service. However every few months I get trickled in leads for areas that I do not service, or told them I no longer service! I am charged upfront over $20 per leads, sometimes over $35, and they hope you do not notice. We do not want bad will in the community so we feel that we have to reply since they gave out our name to the client saying we'll be calling them for service!! They will not refund back leads older than 30 days, saying "It's up to you to monitor your profile." The profile will not even show the unserviced zip codes being charged so that doesn't work either. Trying to predict when they will bogus charge you is a hassle and I shouldn't have to do in order to get their other good leads.

HomeAdvisor worked great. Got on, put in what I was looking for and it pulled up a list of companies to choose from with ratings and reviews from other customers. Easy to use and very helpful, especially when you have no clue on who to contact for a service you need. Would highly recommend.

I highly recommend Perfect Climate HVAC. The owner Ken ** is a former mechanical engineer who is pleasant, dependable, and extremely knowledgeable. His team are also pleasant, dependable and knowledgeable.

I needed a handyman for several small projects - weeding, installing towel bar and curtain rod, sanding and staining fence, repairing a few dings in wall. Got almost immediate response to request and work was well done.

Our AC went out on a Saturday evening, and so I asked a friend for a recommended tech. She recommended checking HomeAdvisor, so I did. It was easy, and the ratings were not only helpful, but comforting to see. The best part is that it was free to use! We will confidently use HomeAdvisor from now on to get the help we need with our house. On an additional note, this was far and above our experience with home warranty services - more professional, quick service and reasonable cost.

If you have a home project on your list, this is the best place to start. Get three estimates and assess those who provide estimates. Make your decision and commit. As easy as one, two, three.

What I liked about the HomeAdvisor service over Angie's List or others is that the site helped me narrow down my choices quickly based upon what I needed and also auto-dialed the contractor. Angie's List is a nightmare trying to navigate and all of their "special offers" from contractors are typically not even in the same category.

We've used HomeAdvisor three times now and have had good-to-excellent experiences on all three occasions. Contractors recommended were prompt, courteous, and reasonably priced. Ability to read local customer reviews is very helpful.

Above ground 24"X48" round pool needed a liner replaced and Ray at All Phase Pools was fantastic! Would highly recommend using him for all pool needs in the future.

I had Bowman Plumbing Services locate and repair my very OLD septic tank. I was so pleased with their work and friendly professionalism that I hired them to installed a seismic safety shut-off valve on my gas meter. They cleaned everything up and I couldn't have been happier. Very reasonably priced too!

After moving to San Diego county 7 years ago, we had 3 projects done thru HomeAdvisor all of which were exceptional workmanship. Tiled the entire 1st floor, installed drywall & matched textured finish & had our hot water heater replaced.

Lars A/C came out and inspected the attic and then took the coils out and recommended cleaning them and the blower. We made an appointment and he did what he recommended and I haven't had to dust in a week. Before I was dusting every other day. Great job.

CSM arrive and completed job as promised. Repairs were reasonably priced and work and material were all high quality. Job site was cleaned and all debris hauled away. I would high recommend CSM to anyone needing masonry work.

I went to the site about a roof repair. Was contacted by who they gave my name to. I talked to the man, told him I wanted a quote on the repair. He send his man up on my roof and has him start the repair not giving me a quote like I asked. I called the man on the phone. Instead of answering the phone with saying the name company he said hello. I told the man I needed a receipt for the work. He did. He told me they would email it. Well never got it. So I went to the website and called a different number and come to find out that the person that did my work was using their name and website on his card.

This service was amazing and I was not aware that a service like this existed. I knew Angie's List gave reviews but I didn't know people helped you locate companies. I have since spoken to a friend that used HomeAdvisor and she found it through web searching also. She was very satisfied with her experience as well. I was googling power washing in my area and HomeAdvisor popped up and within minutes. Literally, I had a company contacting me about doing the work for me.

HomeAdvisor always comes through when I need help. The people that I have used are always prompt, considerate and talented.

I signed up for HomeAdvisor. I stated I do not do free estimates. They sent them anyway. I call to dispute the charge and they did nothing. I have a bill of 508.00. This is my second time signing up with them and they told me "if it on your page you do not do free estimates you should not be charge." That's not the case with them. As a business owner do not sign up. They look out for them not your business.

After filling out the data on HomeAdvisor about a need for air conditioner repair, I had a call from Zeke's within 1 minute of me hitting the submit button on the computer. He was pleasant, punctual, knowledgable, and explained everything he was doing while I stood and watched. The price for a new capacitor was less than the last time I had to replace it.

I called HomeAdvisor Services around 11:00 am and had a water treatment company call me back within 5 minutes. HomeAdvisor Services contacted a water treatment co. for me located close to my location. They called me within the 5 minutes of calling HomeAdvisor. I could not be any happier. HomeAdvisor did me right 100%. I will definitely call them again when I have anything around the house that needs attention that I am not able to accomplish myself.

I have a 15 amp circuit breaker that repeatedly tripped during the last few days of 108 and 113 degree weather. The electrician tested the breaker and the circuit and found them to both be in good operating condition. He determined that the circuit breaker is connected to the Forced Air Unit. He tested the circuit with the FAU on. When initially turned on the circuit went to 16 amps and then settled down to 7.5 amps. He thinks that due to the recent extreme weather of 108 and 113 degrees the FAU was overheating and causing the circuit to overheat and trip the breaker. He suggest having the A/C company out to confirm that the FAU and A/C are operating within acceptable levels. He also recommended that a "Quiet Cool" fan would help reduce the heat in the attic and thereby improving the operation of the FAU.

According to contractor, Homeadvisor DID not contact them prior to my contacting them.

Given 4 acceptable vendors to get bids.

Furniture Cleaning - Quick and responsive.

I signed up for their service and tried it out for a couple of week. We started getting leads from them and lots of the leads had bad phone numbers or could not reach the customers. In the mean while we are getting hammered on lead fees from them. We were unhappy with the service and tried to call in and have it canceled and after an hour and half later they just would not let me cancel. I agree to put the account on hold. I didn't want any leads from them or their service. After the hold ran out we started getting more leads from them again. We never replied to any of the leads they sent over and now being charged almost a thousand dollars for this service we didn't want nor did we use. This is a company that does not care about contractors or home owners. They are just after one thing, MONEY. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Between the aftermath of the wedding and heading off to the airport for the honeymoon, I contacted HomeAdvisor to help find a service provider. At first, I didn't think I would get the help I needed, but amazingly the contact they gave me worked with me remotely and my lawn looks phenomenal.

HomeAdvisor offered a list of pros. I chose one, got a call in 30 minutes. He came to my house, gave us a quote, and did the job in one day. From the time I logged into HomeAdvisor until the job was done was only 3 days. The pro was conscientious, fast, courteous, and offered a fair price.

Outside house painting. We are private homeowners. Will contact HomeAdvisor again.

Installing a natural gas line for an outdoor grill. The whole process worked out smoothly, better than I expected. I'm happy I chose a gas specialist rather than a general plumber. I will use HomeAdvisor in the future.

When I decided to put siding on my house, I didn't know where to start. Through a google search, I found HomeAdvisor, filled out a form telling them what I was looking for and in 1 day I was receiving calls from contractors. Without this service, this would have been a much more difficult task to complete.

I hired Echo Industries (HVAC) and Team Plumbing (water filtration), both from HomeAdvisor. Both companies did a great job. I am 100% happy with the outcome.

HomeAdvisor is not fair and discriminate against people with the same last name. Our business was kick off because of our last name. We had very good ratings, never owed them money. Our customers were very satisfied because some other people with the same last name as ours advertising on HomeAdvisor was not to their standard has nothing to do with my business. Lots of people has the same last name does not mean that you're friends or family with them. Not being treated fair. Why should we pay for other people that had the same last name. HomeAdvisor was and is very good advertisement for us not fair to hard working, honest people all because of a last name. Shame on the people that made this decision.

I'm just learning that HomeAdvisor is not all it's cracked up to be. I'd been using the service to locate service providers. Some worked out. Others didn't. When I had great experiences with these contractors I talked about it. (But they were few and far between and like finding a needle in a haystack sometimes.) And when I had bad experiences... You guessed it... I posted comments about them too. The positive comments made it to public review. The critical comments (all professional) never did! These companies are still being shown to have 5(A+) and 4.3 (B+) ratings. I feel certain that's because comments like mine are not getting factored into their evaluations for public viewing. And that stinks.

Air Conditioner Repair - Mr. ** was friendly, knowledgeable and informative.

I had a company call within minutes after my contact. I had them come out and repair my refrigerator. They were knowledgeable and the price was not bad either. I am happy and content with the entire process.

I called on a Saturday afternoon, never imagined someone would be available until Monday morning. My dryer was dead and filled with wet clothes. Called HomeAdvisor and they immediately referred me to D-Quality Service and Mr. Danny **. I called Mr. **, he was in my home within hours of my call. He diagnosed the problem, had the parts needed, and replaced and fixed my dryer within 2 hours. This is what I like, a prompt, professional, fast, and affordable service and I will always recommend them and use them for our properties.

For the third summer in a row our heat pump cooling system quit working during a heat wave. Last summer the company, who had "fixed" the system the previous summer, couldn't find anything wrong and suggested we put a beach umbrella over the heat pump so it wouldn't have to work as hard!! We relied this time on reviews on HomeAdvisor and called Randy at Expert Heating & AC. We reached his voice mail and didn't expect an answer anytime soon. To our surprise Randy called within an hour and told us he was in the area, and would come take a look.

Got three calls but only one showed up so could have been better but satisfied with job... so far.

I have had different people for each job. The first was a plumber for putting in a water line. They came out, gave us a rate, and then when they did the job the lady that owns the company and said they should have charged double. I didn't like that, but I only paid what they stated, and they left my yard a mess. This company is J and H plumbing. Lawn care was due to the J and H plumbing. Nathan did a great job with fixing the yard back to perfect and charged a very reasonable price. The roofers that came out to fixed the leak in my living room roof, they had to come out 4 times, but the last time was a success.

Just a few minutes after submitting a request to HomeAdvisor for contractors for my gas pipe extension project, I had the names of three contractors; I submitted requests for appointments for all three. Within minutes, I received calls and quotes from 2 of the 3 (the 3rd never did contact me). HomeAdvisor contacted me an hour or so later to see if the recommended contractors had contacted me. And they called again later to see if the work had been done and if I was satisfied. I'm very satisfied with the contractor I selected. I recommend HomeAdvisor and will use them again if the need arises.
