Found a reasonable repairman in emergency situation. Two brothers with a small, local business responded on a Sunday morning. Fixed the broken spring immediately after having breakfast with their family. Very reasonable charge considering work involved. Asked for an estimate to upgrade my opener to one with a phone app. Will use them again! Very pleased.

HomeAdvisor quickly provides the names of local contractors. All the contractors they've given us have appeared to be quality. They provide the names of contractors/companies we may not have found on our own... easily anyway. One item of note, if you want to talk a contractor quickly, you should call them. I found a lag (understandably) if you ask HA to have the contractor call you. Not a big deal unless you have an emergency.

Roof Repair - work was done on time and fair price. The leaking has stopped but the true test will be today July 7th 2017. High wind and downpour for this area today. Some wood was replaced also along with valleys. They were at my home for approx. 7 hours to do this repair, so I think the price was fair. Clean up was great. All was taken away. Thank you.

I was only going to have a backup system installed, but the technician confirmed what I had 'Googled'. The life of a sump pump is 10-15 years. :( Since mine was 13 years old and seems to 'go' all the time I chose to replace it and to add a back-up system.

I wasn't sure what to expect. I was given 3 Pros, and 2 of them had a "Request Quote" button. Well, I didn't realize that plumbers will want to come out to quote, charging a trip fee, and kind of expect to do the job. I'm not going to pay $60-$100 to each company to do a quote for my small job. I basically closed my eyes and picked one. Maybe not as blind as the phone book, but still felt a bit in the dark with the process.

Need a larger rate database. An hourly rate would help the estimate. Your website comes up with the same rate for individual jobs regardless of proprietor. Tree categories <40 ft and > 40 ft are too few.

I was happy with the job that was done. The problem with HomeAdvisor, was getting people out to the house to provide an estimate, It was impossible to compare quotes. I had also tried to get someone to evaluate my well problem. I only received a call back from someone who diagnosed over the phone. I ended picking a name out of the phonebook. The idea is very good. I like reading reviews before calling so I would have an idea what to expect.

Crawl space remediation - Sedona was very professional and transparent (no hidden costs). Rather than trying to sell me a gold-plated solution, they were willing to go with the minimum needed and do further remediation later if conditions warranted. Installer was very knowledgeable and courteous, and showed me all the work that was done. I also liked the electronic paperwork, including "before" photos and contract.

MAJOR tree trimming. Plan ahead! Take down lines and protect yard. Clean up as you go. These guys did a good job! Multiple trips to the recycle center and hard work. Prompt return calls and good communication. I stayed around all day to make sure utility companies removed and reattached lines as quickly as possible.

Do not use this company. If you get a "lead" you pay an average of $20 per lead (& so do the multiple others that get the same lead). It doesn't matter if you get the job or if someone is just playing to price shop. It was an act of congress to fire HomeAdvisor. I had to cancel my credit card to stop the charges. If you like to spend $100+ a day for useless leads then you may like this company.

Upon coming downstairs on Saturday morning, I immediately knew the AC on the lower level was not working. I called two AC repair companies and left messages. Both are highly-rated on Yelp. As of Sunday evening, I have not heard from either.
