I had this problem with a neighbor's tree hanging over a portion of my roof. The branches and leaves were going to cause damage and other possible problems to the roof. I had called about 3 landscaping companies, but they didn't do tree trimming. I didn't know who else to call until someone told me about the HomeAdvisor website. I went online and quickly found out that this agency has all the help you would need for anything about home work projects.

In my case, I had a rough idea of what I wanted done (wiring a ten-year-old home with the highest quality internet). Donn, over several weeks, before I moved in, listened that I wanted each room hard wired for internet and cable - no more buffering for this reporter. Don ** captured my desire and made it happen in a half a day.

HomeAdvisor came up as a result of a Google search. The site was easy to navigate and I found an excellent person to complete my job (land clearing) in a matter of minutes. HomeAdvisor definitely made it easy to locate this person. Looking in the phone book did not net any results because I had no idea what heading the service would be placed under in the Yellow Pages. Being online, HomeAdvisor was able to match to the search term I entered in Google and the rest was easy.

Everyone I spoke to was very polite. I only needed help from HomeAdvisor with one thing. The companies recommended by HomeAdvisor were a good fit for what I needed. I will probably use HomeAdvisor on my next project. They made finding the people I needed to do my project easier.

Making the appointment online was very easy. The system was excellent. I liked reading the reviews. Other businesses gave us days for an appointment. HomeAdvisor found someone right away. HomeAdvisor also sent a follow-up reminder. The company followed up and confirmed the appointment, also.

Excellent contractors so far. I have hired 4 in the last month through HomeAdvisor and they have all done a good job at a fair price. I am impressed with the quality of the people unlike the other "advisor" company that competes with them. I will only use HomeAdvisor for all my jobs. I had concrete work, flooring installed, glass doors for the bath installed and my garage door repaired so far.

I would definitely let HomeAdvisor help me find someone to do other jobs I need done in the future. Junk King called to let me know when they were coming and showed up on time. They did an awesome job. I would definitely recommend them.

Between friends, family and co-workers we were given plenty of numbers for referrals with our bathroom remodel projects! We went with HomeAdvisor's stamp of approval and hired the best. Result is we got the best. Regardless of what others say, having a company stand behind their referrals makes all the difference.

It is a great tool for homeowner, but the few poor company that were recommended to us and were not hired due to the poor customer service was reported to HomeAdvisor. We wrote a valid review but HomeAdvisor spite knowing our review is valid did not publish it nor did anything about it.

When in doubt, call a pro. It is hard to know who to let into your home in a new area. While no service can guarantee success, the odds are better when someone else takes the time to get a professional.

In my experience I recommend Cooling Experts. Excellent service and professional work. The problem was solved in 45 min.

We got a lot of recommendations via Facebook & also got several via HomeAdvisor. I called a lot of plumbers to get quotes & many would not over the phone, even an approximate range. We ended up using Aqua Pro, who not only gave an estimate range over the phone, not a guaranteed price but something to give us an idea but they even told us how to get it to stop leaking all over our unfortunately carpeted garage/laundry room on a Sunday evening. We had them come out Monday. Anyhow, thankfully we found them from HomeAdvisor, we are very appreciative.

Quick, professional reasonable! The contractor they connected me to did a fantastic job painting my condo! I couldn't be happier. I would gladly hire Nathan ** again. So great to know there is a trusted site for hiring home improvement professionals.

Very happy with companies I have used from HomeAdvisor and have recommended it to neighbors. The contractors I used are also happy with HomeAdvisor. It is a trustworthy site. I like the fact that it is a free service and that you have thoroughly checked on the contractors you list. I will use it again.

1 panel had rotted wood. He replaced it and put new strips across the door. He was knowledgeable about carpentry. He was efficient and cleaned up after finishing the project. He also used my stain on the door to match the rest.

Install partial fence - I trusted the website and would recommend this to friends to use. I will be using this for future projects, i.e., tree trimming service, annual sewer cleaning, etc. No concerns on making payments once a contractor was selected and best thing was that I did not have to do the research or make several calls for quotes.

Very efficient. I needed a pest inspector, they provided me the name of one that is local and the phone number. HomeAdvisor also followed up to ensure everything was okay. I will use them again if the opportunity presents itself.

My home central A/C stopped producing cool air & I looked to HomeAdvisor to locate highly qualified repair technicians. R&M Heating & Cooling was recommended and used. R&M came out & had my A/C working perfectly in two hours for a very fair service charge. Thank you R&M and HomeAdvisor.

I have used them multiple times. I hired an asphalt company for my warehouse building that did an excellent job for a competitive price. I hired an exterminator company I am very pleased with. You still have to do your own research because I hired a roofing company that was competitive but had a very bad experience with them. Regardless they are a good resource to find contractors. I will use them again.

On time Services was very efficient and on-time completing staining our deck. He also did great job at pressure washing our swing and picnic table. We will recommend to our family and friends.

Have used HomeAdvisor for a few projects now and it's been a good overall experience. Always good to get multiple estimates and ability to research and see feedback from others is helpful. I would certainly recommend others to use the service.

This is the second time that I used HomeAdvisor to find a reliable service provider. Both times my experience was excellent. The only caveat I have regards illegitimate gate crashers who contact the employer before an appointment can be made. These people are not approved by HomeAdvisor, but appear to get wind of work opportunities as soon as they arise. Customers should use caution with these people.

Excellent recommendation. Vaal Construction is very professional and experienced and friendly. They worked every day until the job was complete. They totally removed a tub and installed a shower with cabinets, vanity and sink. I was very satisfied with their workmanship.

I found a excellent roofer in Rock Hill, S.C. on HomeAdvisor. I would recommend this site for future projects. Southern Restoration was listed as one of the roofing companies. I went by the past reviews and chose this roofing company. There are in business for two years, but let that fool you... but the owner, has been a roofer for over 25 years, they went above and beyond, with customer service, cost and installation and completely within one day.

I did receive an email that our appointment was scheduled, but I'm still not clear if it was a confirmation email from the actual company, or just HomeAdvisor. Other than that it was great. I like the texts that I received as well.

It is really nice to have someone do all the research and give you a chance to make an informed decision about who you feel will do the best job for you and at the best price.

Was please with my experience with HomeAdvisor as I was recommended a company that came through and did a great job for a great price with great expertise. We needed radon mitigation after higher levels were found when we went to sell our house. The company recommended had great reviews and a promise to get the job done. They came through on their promise and the levels were taken care of. With many choices of companies to do the job, it was good to narrow down the choice to the company recommended on HomeAdvisor.

Martin Plumbing - Great company to do business with! I highly recommend them! Installed a toilet in one of our bathrooms as well as replaced a sprinkler valve in our backyard. Got it right the first time! Reasonably priced and outstanding service!

Needed to replace a 40 year old wood garage door. Also replaced the garage door opener that was 25 years old and did not have photo eyes. When I first submitted the request through HomeAdvisor, several suggested companies were recommended. Beach renovation - Was impressed that I received a call back for an estimate within a couple hours of my call. Came out on time for the estimate with a "heads up" call. Sod: 12 tree guys did a good job. They had to push back the install date but, other than that I was happy with the results. I have always liked HomeAdvisor. With the exception of house keeping companies, I have been happy with the pros I have hired. The house keeping companies have all sucked.

We had a tree removal project and didn't know who was good in our area. We chose one from their list of suggested companies, and we were very satisfied. Their web process is easy to use and we were kept informed about each step in the process. Our only reservation would be that they only show you companies/individuals who have signed up with them. So you may miss a number of good people not on their list. On the other hand, they only accept people who are certified by them to do a good job, and customer reviews are available. Also they don't charge us for their service (we assume the company does). Overall a positive and useful experience.

Water was leaking from the main floor bathroom into the basement bathroom. The plumber assessed the problem quickly and explained what needed to be done. The leak was the result of an old Delta Monitor cartridge that needed replaced. Also, because the bathroom had no access panel, he needed to install one. He was an excellent communicator. He put in the panel and replaced the old cartridge efficiently.

Excellent job, very accommodating. Needed 2 screens rescreened. Unable to replace as no longer made due to age of windows. Same with patio door. Screens replaced so they would not blow out with high winds as before. Look like new. Same with patio door.

One or two ads a week would be annoying, but four to five just makes me mad. Once in, it's hard to get the "opt out" feature to take. It's a great service, but you're already charging the pros to use it; why slam me with extra email? I know how to find HomeAdvisor and use a search engine.

And I would also add that the caliber of the pros has been, generally speaking, quite outstanding, with few exceptions.

Windows cleaned - Very easy to find what company I wanted to hire and HomeAdvisor gave me a very accurate description of the company I hired. I am super pleased with the results and the people that came to my house. Since they came inside and outside and my house is large, I felt comfortable knowing they were screened by HomeAdvisor as well.

6 sidewalk panels were raised and leveled. Tree roots were the primary reason along with subsidence. I found the contractor through this website, along with two other contractors. I found the website to be very useful in locating contractors for this job and the contractor was very professional.

Had to replace drain valve and repair lines in 2 places. Showed up at agreed to time, appeared to understand sprinkler systems. 2 Persons accomplished repair in approximately 1 hour. Price seemed fair for work accomplished. Would use their services again.

Didn't know where to start to find qualified repairman who could come quickly. HomeAdvisor directed me to someone with A+ BBB rating who came within 24 hours of initial request. Work was done quickly and for a very reasonable price.

I originally found the tree removal service while doing a search on the web. It took me to HomeAdvisor. (I had never used this site before.) I called 2 different companies for estimates. I also called a few other companies that were not members of HomeAdvisor and they didn't return my call. I used the company with the highest rating (but they were not the most expensive - Yeah!). I would use HomeAdvisor again, because it made my search easy and resulted in a successful service!

Great recommendation received for a plumber whom I will definitely use again. Did not have to worry about whether the plumber was licensed or insured as they handled that. I am very pleased with HomeAdvisor and really starting to trust their contractors. I hired an electrician recommended by them and the electrician was terrific. I hired a company to do weeding and mulching and they were terrific. I interviewed a tile person who I was less enthusiastic about, but that was unusual. Such a relief to have a trustworthy source of contractor recommendations!

Arrived on time for the TV antenna install, suggested way to achieve maximum line of sight, worked quickly and explained procedure, set up channels on TV. Worked quickly and neatly. Used part of obsolete satellite antenna, fastened to peak for same price as originally quoted that included purchase of their antenna. Explained the difference between less expensive and more expensive antenna. Installer very efficient and worked quickly.

The plumbing contractors were prompt, professional and competent. In addition, all the workers were friendly and considerate of cleanliness within the house as much as possible in cutting into sheetrock. They had to move heavy furniture and kept everything out of the way as much as possible.

Search for electrician - This was our first experience with HomeAdvisor. It was easy to use and very helpful. I would recommend this service to others. The companies that gave estimates were all very promising. The appointments were all kept by the companies and I liked the little email reminders for the appointments.

Door repair: I was quickly guided through the process of describing my problem, and a professional in the field called me immediately. The technician was very knowledgeable and was able to come out that day and took care of what I was afraid would be a serious problem in only a few minutes.

Needed someone to clear an overgrown lot that is owned in another state (MA), we live in VA. KPC Enterprises was one of the first to come through, and they were local to where the lot is. Hired them, pictures sent throughout the process from start to finish, very satisfied and will be using them again.

My experience with HomeAdvisor is far Superior than Angie's List. The Best with using Home Advisor is it is free and you get the best companies with no upfront fee. HomeAdvisor has given companies to choose from and I have used one of Home Advisors companies 5 times now! I will continue to use them because they have checked these companies out and that saves the customer so much time in the long run.

This company repaired leaks in our aging asphalt roof quickly, then the following year replaced it with a metal roof. The men were extremely polite and helpful and went out of their way to do a good job and to clean up after the job was finished. We would highly recommend them to anyone needing a roof repaired or replaced.

I had a very difficult time working through the 10 plus fence contractors in the area, but HomeAdvisor made it much easier to sort through them. With the reviews and immediate connections to the potential contractors, I was able to communicate with each one, request quotes, and start my installation within my schedule and budget.

Of the three separate companies I have hired, two were frauds. One stole a substantial amount of money from me, and was not licensed, as was represented. Another was a termite company that was to tent my home, put up all the tenting material THEN informed me it would cost another $1,000, knowing that if I said no then it would put me two weeks behind in my production schedule. I hold no faith in HomeAdvisor ratings, and clearly they are not screening their "contractors" for even basic information, like whether they are licensed.

After the project was completed, they walked around with us to make sure it was to our satisfaction. They completed the few little things we saw happily. I would definitely recommend Painter1 to my friends and neighbors.

Best of the free services. Why pay? I think after you pick a service provider there should be a way to stop the other providers from continuing to call. Other than that issue this service is right up there with the fee based referral services.

HomeAdvisor quickly found a company to help me with an unfinished deck. Vince and his company finished a deck & painting job that someone else couldn't complete. He also inserted 2 steps off a ramp in order to get to the outdoor faucet. He and his crew completed this project quickly and precisely.

Was able to find experts in particular areas of home repair within my area, that otherwise I couldn't find. I like that they are already background checked and like having reviews from past customers to read. It was a help to have a site that could instantly pull up names of persons/companies that I would otherwise have great difficulties finding.

Chairs, seats, upholstery cleaning - They responded quickly to online request for quote. Another company responded after I set time for this company to come to the house. Another (neither of these 2 with HomeAdvisor) never responded.

Fast, easy to use and got quick response from contractors. Problem diagnosed and repair scheduled for today, 24 hours from diagnoses. Tech helped me on the phone to determine if any warranty would cover this faulty installation of a brand new HVAC unit Sept 2015. He went above and beyond. I found the HomeAdvisor site easy to use, and very responsive to my needs. I have a new relationship now with One Hour Air that I believe will be successful. Needed someone to take care of lawn maintenance on a commercial property located out of town. They gave me three potential vendors that all replied quickly, and two with competing proposals. The third was a company that offered chemical treatments not maintenance.

Paving - The company performed the work in a timely manner and did a good job. They also used sand to fill in the wider cracks in the driveway before sealing them. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for driveway repair.

I love HomeAdvisor and use it as a reference all the time. The only negative when using HomeAdvisor is that I want to see a list of providers when I want to hire someone. Once I have the list I will make my own phone calls. I researched and requested plumbers in my area and then received about a dozen phone calls from other providers well after I selected one and had the problem resolved. If there is a way to request a list rather than have providers call me I just need to know where to select that.

Our water pressure was too low to wash the dishes. Navigated to HomeAdvisor and had two companies respond within 15 minutes of posting the request for appointments. One company came and repaired the pump on the same day. Used this same service to find driveway/asphalt repair. Similar results! Saved over $1000. Incredible response! Used the professional referred by HomeAdvisor and was satisfied with the service. Received a call promptly and schedule the service for later that same day. Professional called when he was delayed and showed up at the alternate agreed time.

Added outlet and replaced entire panel. John brought to my attention a dangerous situation. "Safety first" made it easy to decide to replace the panel. There was water in the panel and evidence of rust. The old panel was no longer up to code, since it was installed many years ago. Adding another outlet would have added strain on a questionable old panel. It was time to update.

Mudjacking - I was good to know my contractor was approved by your service. It gave me a level of security that I may not have had if I contacted the company myself. This was the first time I used HomeAdvisor and will use them in the future. I had a great experience with this contractor and would use them again and recommend them to anyone!!

I had custom "made to fit" countertops of granite made for our bath and kitchen remodel. Landmark Granite and Stone did an excellent job. Fantastic response time and turnaround time from placing the order to the countertops installation. Great service, great products and all at reasonable price.

The process was very simple and when one of the three declined the online appointment, I was texted and called by HomeAdvisor to confirm that I was aware. Service above and beyond. After numerous attempts to get a gutter contractor to come out and give us a quote, I used HomeAdvisor and was thrilled that the first name that popped up had a 4.9 rating and immediately answered my call. Concrete work - Driveway, Patio and Sidewalk: Provided several companies to receive bids. I called two from the list and hired one of them. They did an excellent job and were on time and finished within the estimated schedule. Price was comparable to others not in HomeAdvisor.

Broken water heater: Use of this service to find any other professional service is tricky in that the assumption from the user is that the services have similar procedures and this was not always the case. I used the best company for the job partially based upon their prompt response and modern operations. I rejected the others on your list because they failed to respond, or call, or send a quote.

Irrigation repair - Pro I hired was reasonably priced, showed up when he said he would and was personable and quite customer oriented. He replaced valve on my system and made sure all was in good working order before leaving. Also had him trim 2 palm trees, which he did with reasonable cost.

Hired a contractor recommended by HomeAdvisor in 06/30/2015 was not satisfied with the result. The contractor, LQ Construction Co. of Newark, N.J. **, initially was to replace front concrete steps and concrete platform plus waterproof foundation which I found out after replacement was not done. The initial contract stated that it was to be done, plus lately I have found out that the concrete platform is breaking up. I have tried to contact the company and was unsuccessful. I was charged $2000 when contract was first issued but was charged an additional $800 for foundation requirement, which I suspected was just a put on. I had to agree because at the time the job was half completed. The amount of money is more than I should of been charged. I am totally unhappy with the company which refuses to honor their contract. I intend to report them to the Better Business Bureau and also to the associated bureaus.

Very easy to find a well-qualified contractor using the HomeAdvisor search. We've been extremely satisfied with our results thus far! The home inspector was professional, knowledgeable and thorough. He spent 3 hours and delivered the report the same day! And we are super satisfied with our landscaper. We'll be asking him to help us with a couple other projects that we need done.

Outdoor spigot and valve was leaking. One of the pipes was rusting. Probably due to old age. The spigot controlled pool filler, misters, and hose line. I was leaving for vacation and was fearful the pipe might be compromised and break. What's more, I didn't want to turn off the valve because it was the pool filler spigot. With temperatures above 118 degrees I could not shut off the water to the pool while gone for fear of too much evaporation. The old rusting copper pipe was removed and replaced with a new copper piece and pvc pipe.
