Only thing I didn't like about HomeAdvisor is that when you click on to see Pros only, well they call you. The company that I hired was excellent. If all their other people they have are like Juice then it's a great thing. I will have no trouble ever finding any help again to do home improvements or housework.

First off, I have been burned by a few individuals claiming to be contractors & pretty much were jack-legs. HomeAdvisor cuts through most of that screening work to get you to people that are: honest, (for the most part) fair, prompt, professional and for the most important part (for me, anyways) responsible. The businesses that I have dealt with on here are serious about doing a great job & keeping a good name with the public. Try them for a small project to see how you like their referrals.

I have used HomeAdvisor to hire several local contractors. I have had excellent results with all who responded to me. A few contractors I contacted did not respond to my calls, but those who did were terrific and several I have rehired for additional projects. I recommend HomeAdvisor to anyone looking for help!

New Year's Eve broken baseboard pipe! Distinct Plumbing came within an hour. Explained everything he was doing. Showed what to look for. Pointed out a few problems. No pressure to commit to other work. Cleaned up. Will recommend to family and friends. Will definitely be using in future!

I rec'd calls soon after applying for an installer. I had three companies come to my home and give me quotes. Each company was professional. I have tried using a competitive company and it was just a bad experience. I would definitely recommend HomeAdvisor.

I don't know if I lucked out, as it was my first use of HomeAdvisor, preferring word of mouth, and I feel I hit the jackpot. I consider honesty to be the most important quality. The owner of Zion Insulator bent over backwards to give me a fair price and deliver only that amount of product I needed.

Very professional and personable crew. Very accommodating for day and time needed. Pictures of work shown before and after. Sanitizing and dryer vent cleaning offered at reasonable cost but no pressure to do so. Will have them again when needed.

Door had been installed by another company. The hinge kept slipping. Hinges were replaced with much higher quality. Work was done quickly at a very fair price. My wife and I wish we knew about this company when we did our original install.

Dishwasher latch repair. Excellent service and saved me money! Repairman called me right away and I got an appointment within a day. He was Very knowledgeable and explained everything. Was very neat and cleaned up after he was done. He left me 2 business cards: one a magnet card for the fridge and one for my wallet. I would definitely recommend All Brands for appliance repairs and service. Technician Joe was great!

Move a wall mounted TV and queen size bed and frame from one bedroom to another bedroom. He worked quickly. He was courteous. He removed his footwear before entering the house. He did good quality work. He will be asked back to do other handyman tasks.

We moved our washer and dryer to an uninsulated and unheated walk in attic room. I was concerned with freezing pipes and since the insulation the temperature has been much better and my fear has gone away. I am very satisfied with the work done and I am very fussy.

Wanted to find an electrician to do a very specific addition to my home to allow a plug for a portable generator to run the lights and heat and electrical outlets in case of a power outage. Made inquiries on Friday night at 10 and by 10:30, and 2 different callbacks and companies here promptly on Monday. Will always consult HomeAdvisor for future needs; I have found an electrician who I will always use!

We've hired various contractors through HomeAdvisor in the past, but recently we hired a number of contractors (tiling, carpeting, fireplace demolition, fireplace framing, fireplace installation) to help with the parts of a remodeling project we didn't think we could do, or do well enough. Everyone we found through HA was great: competent, friendly, prompt, fairly priced, and generally good communicators. It made the remodel a very positive experience.

We've used HomeAdvisor for several project researches. In SW Florida, there are many fly-by-night companies, so you need to be careful. We've been happy with the companies utilizing HomeAdvisor Service, as we feel companies that are willing to have reviews and be vetted are more reliable. Always On Generator was a good example of our good HomeAdvisor Experiences. They are prompt to respond, did a good job, and were fair in pricing.

I requested quotes from three tree trimming companies the week between Christmas and New Year! Granted lots of places are on holiday, but I needed it taken care of. Only one responded, and they were excellent! Very happy with the service! Looking forward to using again! My next project will likely be inside.

I put in my issue with Toilet Clog from objects falling into toilet. I had a very professional and prompt call with minutes call me from Budge It Drains, one of the three co. I submitted to get estimates from. He listened to what happened, and we discussed how to best resolve issue, and I completely agreed with wanting to have my Toilet removed and to have any objects found and removed causing blockage, and then to have Toilet resealed and put back in place for a Flat rate. This is exactly what I wanted, a good Flat rate for this complete service by professional plumbers.

Cleaned up base and removed blockage from the inside. Cleaned & parged the base of separation at breach. Opened both vent spaces for H/W/H & Furnace. Repositioned a smoke pipe. Replaced three 4" elbows and two 3" elbows. Sealed up all seams.

They gave me plenty of options and 3 contacted me. The one I chose was able to start 5 days after the initial estimate. I would recommend HomeAdvisor for any of your Home Projects. I have a few more things that need to be done. I plan on using this service in the very near future.

Lost power and the JSR electrician came out and fixed it for free. Also gave me an estimate on a new panel and dedicated circuit. Extremely helpful and I will use them to install the panel and circuit. The technician was exceptionally knowledgeable and polite. Enjoyed his visit and his knowledge.

Home Advisor helped me find a plumber for a running toilet. The first company that called were contractors but I was uneasy with that. The second company I felt was closer to my area so I choose them. They fixed the simple problem. Remove the oven which was over the stove and replace it with a new microwave. The contractor was here on time and went right to work to remove the old oven and replaced it with the new one. I was very happy with the work he did and would call him back him again when I need another project to be done. I called a few other contractors who were much higher priced than him.

Appreciate HomeAdvisor's feature of connecting you via phone w/ three pros to obtain estimates. In past, my efforts failed b/c I always had to leave messages for workers and never knew when/if they would return my calls. This feature is helpful and eliminates procrastination.

I liked that you offer multiple contractors and not just a few. The feedback you request helps as well as the follow-up plus the survey you offer before & after the contractor is hired, then once completed was good seemed to be thought out checks and balances. HomeAdvisor, in a survey requested of me about my roof repairman, the total bill. HomeAdvisor did not allow me to ignore their question. On the next occasion in which I use someone aligned with HomeAdvisor, if they demand that question be answered, I will "trash" the survey, which also trashes the workers recommendation or lack thereof. If they ask that question on the next use of their contacts, I will stop using HomeAdvisor. If I wish to broadcast how I much I pay for a service, that bill total's disclosure is MY right to offer, not theirs to demand. They can ask the company I hired if they wish.

Hired ADR Environmental to remove 550 gallon in ground oil tank. Job was done very professionally and ADR kept me well informed of everything from start to end. And they cleaned up after themselves so that you never would have know that they were there digging up anything. Thank you guys!!!

Workers were very thorough, moves all items with care, put all boxes and furniture in the desired areas, put all furniture together that required it. Put down runners on the floor to protect the hardwood. Did you take lunch, but no charge for the 30 minute lunch break.

As always, we received a quick response from a contractor who was excellent. No complaints about HomeAdvisor or the contractor. We needed a new sump pump installed (including digging out and installing a sump well). The estimate calculator for the job was helpful for budgeting. Thankfully, the contractor did the job for about half the estimate.

If using the website, the company will call you, usually within 30 minutes of selection. SO, don't use HA as a 'browsing' website. If using the phone, HA will call the selected vendor for you and you'll be talking to their sales rep! VERY fast and easy. Most importantly, the surveys appear honest and unaltered, so the scores and concerns are reliable. I've now had 3 of three excellent vendors using HA. I'll use it consistently for the rest of my home renovations and other projects.

Windows inside and out cleaned of middle unit of 3 townhouses. Two stories. Screens cleaned and frames too. Unit includes a sun porch with many windows. Floor to ceiling windows... Did not have too long for call from the company after my call to them. Also scheduling was prompt.

Rain in the morning on 2016 Christmas Eve told be I had a roof leak dripping through my attic and into my third floor ceiling. I thought it was the ridge vent, but they found other multiple problems other than the vent. The flashing around two vent pipes was cracked and the installation of two in-roof vents was not properly installed. Where they found cracked shingles they replaced them.

It was my first time using HomeAdvisor but I was pleased. I will need an electrician next, but will have to wait because of how expensive it will be. I will probably consult HomeAdvisor when I'm looking though.

HomeAdvisor showed only 1 plumber in my area but when that company didn't contact me prior to my appointment HomeAdvisor did call me and say they were canceling my appointment as the company did not respond to them as well as me. No other solutions to the problem were offered when they canceled my appointment. Received a second call from HomeAdvisor telling me that there actually were 2 or 3 other plumbing companies in my area and would I like them to email me their contact info. I said yes but never did receive an email from HomeAdvisor giving me that information. Only way I ended up getting a plumber out to fix the problem was by my searching on the internet for the original companies' phone number and calling them myself and getting them to come out.

I am a small business owner in Omaha NE. We install trees and landscapes to the Omaha Market Place. I signed up with HomeAdvisor with the understanding that I would receive customer leads from HomeAdvisor that were seeking my services. I got leads many leads by few were consumers actually in the market for the services we offer. HomeAdvisor is very good at getting the customers to their site and they are also good at auto billing weekly for these leads to my credit card. When I requested a refund for the monies I paid to HomeAdvisor... well over $1,500 in 6 months all they would offer was a credit to my account, basically forcing me to stay on with them.

I called their office and made all the arrangements over the phone. Cameron did a thorough and efficient job. I highly recommend them for your lawn services. They arrived at my location at the appointed time and completed the task to my complete satisfaction.

I had a leaking sky lite. Roofing Resources of Georgia came out and gave me an estimate to repair and or replace the sky lite. They were very professional and I opted to replace the sky lite. They arranged a time and sent to crews to do the work. While one measured and picked up the equipment, the other removed the old unit and they replaced and sealed and cleaned up after they were completed.

The plumber arrived on time and completed the work to my satisfaction. My only issue is that I thought their rates were way too high and I should've shopped around for someone cheaper. Other than that, no complaints.

I was contacted immediately by three contractors, given estimates, and each told me what to look for. The contractor that I eventually used was very prompt, communicated well, and knowledgeable about what had to be done. Since my cleaning turned into a more expensive replacement, I was shown why this was necessary.

The oven was not working and we were preparing for a holiday party in a few day. Excellent service -- completed job within a very short time period. The repairman explained the problem, replaced the needed part, which he had with him. He was efficient and the price for the repair was very reasonable.

HA gave list of recommended companies. I picked one. Was advised that they were not available but HA forwarded my request to 3 other companies and told me they would contact me. Only 1 contacted me, Avid Tree Care LLC, but it was almost immediate. The owner, Braden, came to give estimate, sent estimate via email. We set up schedule but weather intervened. I got immediate email advising me so we rescheduled. Guys showed up, did excellent job. Great service! The other 2 companies who I never heard from at all will never be contacted by me in future!

Timely and very efficient. I was very pleased with the work done. The business is local and I like that. I will hire them for additional work in the spring. Mr. ** is very personal and has been operating in Evanston and elsewhere for over thirty years.

I was able to review the comments about the providers and make an informed decision quickly. We chose Petrovic Plumbing to replace our hot water heater. We are very happy with the replacement and their service.

Painted kitchen and laundry room cabinets and stair railing upstairs and in loft. Did a very good job and it really looked great. They cleaned up everything and fixed everything that was not right. I would recommend them to friends. I felt their price was a good value for the service provided.

My front door was very hard to open and close. The hinge was loose and separated from the door frame. The door lock was off center and hard to secure. He repaired all the problems and the door works better than it ever did before, even when it was brand new. We have him on our list and will use him on four other jobs after the holidays! Thanks.

My first time using HomeAdvisor was when I was looking for local estimates on yard aeration. One of the companies recommended by HomeAdvisor was a company I was already working with for my lawn fertilizing and weed service and I already knew what their estimated price was for the service. I de-selected them and requested that I not receive an estimate from them and a request was sent anyway. Thus charging the company anyway.

Had 3 trees removed and one limbed up. Excellent work from A-Z Tree Services. The crew worked two days in some cold and windy weather, climbing up tall trees and carefully bringing limbs down using ropes guided by crew on the ground. Teamwork by the crew was something to watch.

A HomeAdvisor representative promptly contacted us by phone and ensured that we received appropriate, prospective contractor contacts for our particular job. The contractors contacted us within a day or so and work was scheduled soon afterwards. It was an easy, helpful process to get our repair work completed.

I am glad there is such a thing as HomeAdvisor. It save me the trouble of trying to find the right persons for whatever particular job I might need concerning my home. It's better than Angie's List. However one problem is having all of the vendors contact you by phone at once. I wish they would have done so by email. It would have been less confusing for me and less embarrassment for them by piling up on a job.

Not only did you not heed that, you had several people call me. One of them was diligent enough to follow up by text and I then realized you had something seriously wrong with your site. The backflow system had not been checked for a couple of years probably b/c it was hidden under tree roots and soil. Carlos found it, unburied it, and cleaned up after the debris. HomeAdvisor should take more steps to weed out bogus or fake requests or make it easier for the contractors to be refunded for charges for referrals with clearly fraudulent names, addresses or phone numbers.

I had more problems with HomeAdvisor than I did with this company. It seems HomeAdvisor has a block appointment method of scheduling appointments (e.g. 9:00-11:00). However, they inform the customer with a specific time (9:00) so when the provider does not show up at 9 o'clock in the morning, the customer thinks the provider is late! I suggest HomeAdvisor provide the customer with the same block appointment schedule as they are showing on their schedule so everyone is on the same sheet of music. I did, however, appreciate the selection of plumbers I had to choose from. The review section was very very helpful and very accurate. I would choose this company again for my next plumbing project. You just need to be more specific with your scheduling processes.

Efficient and effective and fairly priced. Arrived on time, explained what had to be done and proceeded to do the work without delay. There was no pressure or sales talk - they just explained everything thoroughly so I hired them on the spot! I would recommend them to friends and will call them again if I need other work done.

Never once did I feel uncomfortable with providing my information or who they put me in contact with. Everything was handled professionally and promptly and in the end my experience was very productive!

After the weekend away we came home to a broken refrigerator. Contacted HomeAdvisor the next morning and ApplianceSmart Repair was at my house within an hour. He repaired the refrigerator within an hour. He was courteous, efficient and explained exactly what was wrong and the cost to repair. Best of all he had the part to repair the problem.

It was just a terrible experience. I hired a man after he called from HomeAdvisor to get rid of mold in my bathroom and bedroom, paint the bathroom, to install a tile floor in the bathroom, install a bathroom fan, replace the caulking on the bathtub and to install new trim, from Bennett Custom Painting, a man named Mark did our work. He assured us he could do all of the things we needed, with no reason to hire anyone else. He did all of these things very poorly, except for the painting and mold removal. He installed the floor and actually put a chipped broken tile in the floor. When he did the grout he added water a second time to the mixture when it clearly says not to on the bag, which I discovered after the grout began chipping and coming apart.

Master Bath remodel - HomeAdvisor was a great way to get in touch with reputable contractors. I would recommend its use. The contractors called back immediately upon contacting HomeAdvisor and came quickly to spec the job. The contractor was competent and helpful in the planning of our project.

Surprisingly good - This is the first time that a query resulting from an internet search has actually yielded something, let alone the good result that ensued. I was surprised at how affordable and high quality and trustworthy the work was. This was basically a "cold call" on my part.

I searched the website for local tree removers as I needed to have trees cut that were too close to the electrical wires and a tree that was suffocating my rose bush. Within a hour of completing my search one of the companies contacted me. My experience was very positive and I will definitely utilize the site again in the future.

Have had a few occasion to search and use companies on HomeAdvisor. Have not been unhappy with the companies I have selected so far. There has been times when I have not received a response from companies that were contacted, even after being contacted by H.A. representative.

I found an HVAC contractor (Garbo Plumbing and Heating) on HomeAdvisor and he turned out to be unknowledgeable and left me without heat for 6 days in subfreezing weather. I contacted HomeAdvisor to report him and I eventually wrote up a poor review on Garbo Plumbing and Heating from Duryea, PA. The contractor responded to my review and wrote many lies about why he left me without heat. So, I contacted HomeAdvisor many times to dispute his response. I was told by several of their CSR's on how to respond and write a rebuttal. None of the options worked, so I called HomeAdvisor and left several messages for someone to get back with me, but no one has as of 12-11-16. It appears that HomeAdvisor shields their contractors. So, be very careful when using HomeAdvisor!!!

Two pros refused to honor the info in their Quick Facts that they did not indicate 'no trip charge.' I verified, with 2 different Home Advisor C/S persons, no trip charge was indicated, Nunn Better Air, LLC and the other one has either corrected the bait and switch info or is no longer showing under the Additional Pros List Home Advisor provided for me! Nun Better personnel told me they WOULD NOT HONOR THEIR QUICK FACTS INFO!!! This is clearly a bait and switch ad and it is definitely illegal in Texas! I have hired many pros via home Advisor, but I was very disappointed they allowed two scam artists to use their services and scam their clients.

I needed two old, large, heavy TV'S removed. They got back to me quickly with a quote. They came when they said they would. They were very polite and they performed the task efficiently and at a very reasonable price. I will definitely use them for future projects.

Floor had been replaced because of buckling caused by movement of the foundation from time to time and the new floor started having the same problems. The installer had not left any room at all to allow for movement of the bamboo flooring. We feel the problem has been solved by the repairs that Roy has made.
