I just remodeled three apartments in the same building. Home Depot installed them all. The first two were put under the vent where they belong. The third was moved over about 15', which put it under the lower cabinet and just 17' below the cabinet. They told me that that was legal to do in an older building. I would not be able to rent that apartment that way. If the tenants cook soup, they would ruin the wood cabinets or set them on fire. They charged me $484.02 to redo the countertop on top of the $2294.03. The installer said he asked if I wanted it installed on the center of the cabinet. As he was telling me, he was lining the sink and stove up front to back. I'm not a carpenter. If he would have said that, I thought he was talking front to back. He does this for a living. Why wouldn't he put the cooktop under the vent? Why is it there?

I had a kitchen countertop (Custom Formica) installed in 2006 at the cost of $3061.06. Three years later, the seams by the sink are starting to buckle. They are made of pressed wood, and once that starts to buckle, there's no quick fix. Their work and products are only guaranteed for 1 year. I would think a countertop would last longer. My last one lasted almost 20 years.

We bought kitchen cabinets from American Classic through Home Depot Inc. On 4/22/2009 our wall cabinets are starting to pull apart from the top joints. As you can see, it has not been properly assembled and they do not comply with safety. To prevent us from any critical injury, we have to put the cabinets down from the wall.

I hired Home Depot to do a kitchen remodel. I planned this remodel for 2 years and was very excited to get going on to. I had worked with a couple of different companies when I was planning, and decided to use Home Depot because they offered better prices. Plus, I felt more comfortable with them while I was in the planning stages. I started this whole ordeal in Feb 2009, and it took until 7/31 to complete. On 2/27, I paid Home Depot $100 to schedule the guy to come measure my kitchen and to see what I planned would work. It then took Home Depot until 3/24 to do what they needed to do with the information. On 3/27, I paid Home Depot in full as they would not even place the order unless 100% of the job was paid for. The job was over $17,000, which all but $3,500 I paid in cash.

It took approximately 6 week for the cabinets to arrive. On 5/8/09, the person who showed up to inspect the cabinets, brought no paper work with him, so he used the delivery invoice KraftMaid left instead of driving 3 miles down the street to get what he needed from HD. On 5/12/09, demolition took place and my entire kitchen was gutted. On 5/13, installation began, or was supposed to. Within 2 hours, the installers came to a halt, they found items missing they needed in order to align the cabinets, other pieces incorrectly ordered, and doors that were hinged incorrectly and had to be reordered. These errors delayed the job for 3 weeks, as this is Home Depot’s "expediting" the order. The door issue was not the fault of Home Depot. But the incorrect order the missing order was, as my designed had called me before the order was placed to tell me my total would go up because they had to order these spacers, which did not get ordered.

On 5/13, the electrician had to return because plugs were installed incorrectly and had to move. On 6/4, the 2nd attempt to complete the installation took place. Again, the job was not completed because of missing materials, toe kicks, scribe molding, cabinet skins, the replace door was cracked, and a cabinet was ordered incorrectly and had to be reordered. This time, I was told by one of the expeditors from Home Depot that this order would be placed as a 'rush' order and would be in in 7-10 days. Wrong, the guy did not place a rush order and did not even place the order for the cabinet that had to be replaced. In fact, that order didn't even go in until a week later. So, the 'rushed' order did not get delivered until 6/25, and the cabinet did not get delivered until 7/6. The cabinet was delivered to the store and not me. When I did not receive, I called Home Depot on 7/7 to see where it was. They said they had it but did not bother to call me. I was not able to get back on the schedule to complete this job until 7/10/2009.

The Home Depot team here at the Round Rock store had not bothered to contact me about any of these issues until yesterday, 7/30, and it was only to discuss pick up of the unused materials and the designer, ** was extremely rude. I have talked to several store managers at this store, and they could care less that my life was disrupted for 2 1/2 months due to their errors. I am going to call the store manager, ** today, and if his attitude is anything like all the others there, I will call the corporate office in Atlanta. The last I spoke with my designer, **, was informed that I now owed Home Depot more than $1,500 to cover their mistakes.

Consequences: time off from work. I planned that I would need to take 7 days off for this project, it ended up being 14 plus days at $70 an hour = $3,920.00. I had to eat out 3 meals per day. I expected 32 days, ended up being 60 days, an additional 28 days at $35 a day = $980. I had guests come in from out of state, 6/25 - 7/1, I had to take them out to dinner or cook meals on the grill. Dishes had to be done out of a bucket in the backyard. My pots and pans were not made for grill use, so it turned them all black. My home has been in a state of disarray for a month and a half longer than it should have been and I had to change my life style because of it. The added stress from this project has been a contributing factor in my blood pressure to go up and my allergies have gotten worse from all the dust. The most important, is that I was really excited about his project. I had planned and saved for over 2 years to get this kitchen. I have been so upset with this entire process that Home Depot has taken the enjoyment that I should be feeling about my kitchen, and they could care less.

I contacted Home Depot for kitchen remodeling. Their contracted staff initially arrived intoxicated. The initial remodel was to take two weeks; it took eight months. During the work, no covering were put on my wood floors. The move of my appliances in the kitchen scratched my floors in the kitchen and living room. Additionally, the leg on my stove was broken. Wires were run wrong, which resulted in electrical issues. The molding around my kitchen window was broken to make the tile fit. The granite counter is off-centered because one of the walls was not sanded down correctly and the complete remodel was done differently than it was designed with the designer at Home Depot.

Home Depot had their plumber to come over for the plumbing work and charged me three times what my private plumber charged. They stated that if I used my plumber, it would void the warranty to the kitchen work. By the way, I was told by an employee at the store that the warranty was only for one year. To date, the sink that was supposedly soldered to the granite counter is separating and the pipes installed by their plumber are leaking. The complete work is not finished, but Home Depot only wants me to pay up. They are refusing to meet with me to correct the problem and to see the shoddy work that was done. Their settlement is only $3000 off the work. It would cost me twice that much to correct the work that they have done.

This letter is because your store manager at #2711 Southfield Rd. MI 48076 refuses to speak with me. Nice company where the store managers will not speak to disappointed unsatisfied customers. Nice policy. I recently purchased granite countertops with installation costing over $3000, and have been treated like low life scum. It all started with me taking a day off of work to have the tops installed, fine. The installers could not install the tops because of a defective stone. I talked to Great Lakes and they said they'll send out their “good installers”. What the heck is that? Meanwhile, I'm out a kitchen for 4 days! I have to take another day off of work for them to come back 4 days later. So now I'm out $350 of pay and have to pay for 3 meals out, because I have no kitchen, which cost me another $100.

When they finally get around to coming back to our house, they are 30 minutes late. Home Depot isn't going to compensate me at all or even try to make this right by me, for this time lost at work and complete dissatisfaction. Really? I'm turning 30 and this is my first house. I have many other friends in the same situation. I will be sure that every relative, coworker, friend, and even complete strangers who I hear thinking about shopping or purchasing anything from Home Depot to forget about it and shop elsewhere. I will tell them how mismanaged and poorly run Home Depot is and how Home Depot couldn't care less about their customers' satisfaction or the quality of their work.

Your store manager wouldn't even speak with me! Unbelievable! I just spent $3000 in your store and this is how I'm treated. Unbelievable! Then I find the same stone at a different location, for $10 less a square foot. They told me that they would not uphold their price match guarantee. I will be closing my Home Depot credit card and never ever, ever, spend another cent at your store as long as I live. Not for grass bags, not for cleaning supplies, nothing! I lost 2 days' work approximately $350 in pay. I had to eat out because my kitchen was a work zone for 4 days - approximately $100. Not to mention the fights with the wife - priceless.

We purchased some tumbled slate backsplash tiles along with the products that were recommended by the Home Depot personnel. The grout that we were sold was non-sanded, polymer grout. We purchased the sealer, the mortar and the grout at the time we purchased the tiles. We spent approximately $800.00 for everything. We went home, sealed the tiles and waited for two days. Then, we applied the mortar and tiles to the backsplash. When we applied the grout, we immediately wiped it down as we went along; however, a considerable amount of the grout would not come off the tiles. We called Ideal Tile (they did our floors) and told them what happened. They told us that it is common knowledge in the tile business that you never use polymer grout with a natural stone. They told us Home Depot sold us the wrong product and to go back, so we did.

We originally spoke to William ** (who represented himself as the manager on duty) in the Mt. Laurel, NJ store where we purchased the products. We told him our dilemma and what Ideal Tile said. He told us that he would take responsibility for the damage done as the kid, Bill, who sold us the stuff obviously didn't know what he was doing. Mr. ** did not make good on the product and we pursued it further. We spoke to Tabis **, who represented herself as the manager of the store (she is not the manager, Mike is). She told us she would follow up on it and make the situation right. She did nothing and we did not hear back from her. Then we called again, and Myra from the same store told us to come in and get a product that would clean the grout off.

We went to the store and picked up the product, which didn't even touch it. Then, we called Ideal Tile again and they told us that it might come off with sulfuric acid! We called Home Depot (HD) and they said they did not carry any acid products (that was Tabia). We went to the store and lo and behold, there was sulfamic acid on the shelf.

When we read the bottle, we knew this was not going to work as the bottle says you have to hose the acid off as you work and not to get it on any other surface or it would destroy anything it touches. Needless to say, since we just paid $5K for a granite countertop and there is no way for us to hose down our kitchen backsplash as we worked, we did not bother with the acid.

We complained to Mike, the general manager, and he sent Carmine **, their subcontractor, out to look at the tile. He called the Baltimore office from which he is dispatched and told them the problem. After that, they dropped the ball again and did not follow up. We followed up with them and they told us that Carmine told them that we did not seal the tile. We told them that we did seal the tile and that we bought the sealer when we bought the tile so why would we pay for a product and then not use it and not return it.

They passed the buck some more and we registered a complaint with customer care. When they didn't follow up with us, we called them again and this time, they said that we did not wipe the tiles down. I called Carmine and he told me that he never said that. He noted that some of the tiles were clean and some were covered with grout. If we hadn't wiped the grout as we went, all of the tiles would be covered. Tekisa **, a "resolution expert" in Customer Care passed the buck to the regional manager, who told us that they are not willing to stand behind the products and that they were not willing to rectify the situation even though their employees who represented themselves as managers gave us their word that they would make it right.

When I last spoke to Carmine, he told me that he was under the impression they were going to have him replace the tile. When I told him that they told me he said we didn't do the job right, he told me that they were flat out lying to us, that he never said that. This backsplash has kept our house off the market for at least six weeks now and we cannot get any satisfaction from HD. I need this to be resolved so we can move forward with the listing of this home. We have all our receipts.

We had a new kitchen installed last year. They were having a "12-month, no payment, no interest" deal going on at the time. However, the employee mismeasured everything. After she did the measurements on the computer, we also mentioned that we were interested in purchasing a new refrigerator and stove. The appliances we purchased were supposed to fit the areas according to her measurements. But there is a 6-inch gap between the refrigerator and the cabinets. Then the molding could not be attached. It looks like it's half-assed and should be torn down and done over with the right measurements.

But Home Depot refused to take responsibility, because I didn't use the contractor they sent to install a $3000 kitchen because he wanted $11,000 to do the work. He claimed that all new plumbing and electrical work was needed, which he knew for sure was not so. I have a skylight in my kitchen; there was nothing electrical- or plumbing-wise that needed to be done. So we went with our own professional contractors who did their best to put it up, but it just wasn't measured right.

Now, I'm stuck paying for this ridiculous-looking kitchen. I tried to get fair compensation from Home Depot. I made several complaints. At first, they told me they were going to send someone to look at it, but no one ever showed. Then they tried to compensate me with a $200 discount certificate toward my next Home Depot purchase. Why on earth, after this experience, would I ever want to purchase anything from Home Depot again? I would have settled for a certificate from Lowe's or something.

I went with Home Depot for my new kitchen rather than a private local company because of a Thomasville Cabinet and Home Depot rebate promotion. The cabinets I liked at both stores were near identical, but at HD, if I also bought my kitchen sink and one major appliance, coupled with my nearly $7000 kitchen cabinets, I qualified for a $500 rebate. So as it was like getting a sink and dishwasher for free, I went with HD instead of a privately-owned business. Shame on me!

In addition to making copies of all receipts and order forms, highlighting and circling where required, and sending the rebate packet certified mail on December 29th, no rebate had arrived by March 12th - well after 8/10 weeks which was on the rebate form. When I called on March 12th, I was told that my rebate was valid and in process and a check would be sent within 15 business days. As the fellow on the phone, while helpful, spoke broken English, I called back the next day just in case. I spoke to another fellow who again told me it was valid and in process.

After 15 business days, I had still not received my $500 rebate. I decided that since Home Depot in Manahawkin had my $7000 and not this rebate center, I would go to the manager. Bob told me that he had not had any other complaints or problems from customers regarding this rebate and that if I did not get satisfaction soon to come to see him. I suppose it should be said that I am a person who is quite organized and keep all of my receipts and copies etc., but in this case, it is hardly of any use. I again contacted the rebate center and spoke to yet another person who looked up my records and told me "it was going to my supervisor and will be resolved in 7-10 business days." I called back again before 10 days and interestingly enough got the same fellow on the phone who assured me he had personally handled my claim and it would be resolved.

I suspect that it won't ever come and I realize I should have bought the cabinets from the local business and kept my money in southern Ocean County and not the massive corporate giant that is Home Depot. I am very disappointed.

On March 14th, I ordered kitchen cabinets from Home Depot. They were standard measurements except for one small unit. They arrived three weeks late after being assured they were on route and due on the 6th of April. They finally arrived on the 19th and I was advised that the one small cabinet was back-ordered for another two weeks. I hired a man to pick them up and bring them to my home.

The first two boxes were fine but the third contained a badly damaged panel even though the box was undamaged. I then proceeded to open all of the other boxes and found that three boxes contained the correct doors and the other four had a different style. I called Home Depot and they told me to call the 1 800 number and the supplier would be able to courier out the replacement part. They then told me to bring back the incorrect doors and they would re-order them for me. I told them this was clearly a major inconvenience to me as I have been without a kitchen since April 8th when I pulled out the old cabinets in preparation for the new ones. I asked them to send someone to collect the wrong doors and to make the 1 800 call themselves to fast track the shipment of the right doors and the replacement panel.

Donna, the manager in the store, told me she would not send anyone to collect the incorrect materials and she would not make the call to the manufacturer. I asked for the store manager and was told he was out of the province. I am now faced with another substantial delay and a further two trips to Home Depot, to deliver the faulty parts and to collect the new ones when they arrive.

Each time we called to have someone fix the poor job, other damage was done. We are asking for a 4th and final visit to repair all the damage from previous installations and repairs with no luck. The Depot is trying to hold the trades responsible and asking them to fix each other's mess. We have email strings, etc. If we pay the Home Depot for the job, we don't care who comes to fix it. Also told the salesperson exactly what they were going to say because they have my money and wasn't going to replace. On 2/27/09, inspector came to look at the top and that I did not seal it but I did because we put the sink in that was not my first. Did this before. This is my second complaint. The first cost me big.

I am letting you know that I going public with this problem because Home Depot has been taking my money with no satisfaction like the people at AIG. Once they got the customer's money, they will not stand by their work and just pass the buck. All I ask for is that the inspector tell me the truth because he can't tell just by looking under the sink. You should take the sink out. Then you can say if I did or didn't put sealant around the sink. That just is a way to get off the hook. Other people had the same problem with Home Depot. I will give the rest of property to Lowe's. Paid 100.00 for Home Depot to professionally measure my kitchen for a remodel. Brian came out and measured kitchen. At that time I asked him if I could fit a 12 in cabinet between refrigerator and stove. Brian told me that it would fit. Went to store and sat down with installer (who quit them) and ordered cabinets. Order was faxed to Brian and he approved it. Was told that I would be inconvenienced for about 2 weeks, with the installation. Was told that the cabinets would be delivered directly to my house. They were delivered to store. Store delivers cabinets. Called for installation of cabinets around the middle of October 2008. Had to fight with them to any response, Cabinets are in my garage space. Brian lied to me about when he would be available, Megan the co-ordinator, failed to help. Finally got them moving by calling the customer care number in Atlanta. Brian comes out to my house with his underage son (maybe 13 yrs old) and installs cabinets in one day. It is not complete, but says he will be back. I wait another month and no installer.

The customer care man has been in touch, but they will not even respond to him. Customer care guy emails somebody, and all of a sudden, I am getting results. I insist that they come and look at this kitchen, because, I am hysterical, and tell them they cannot make this right. Luwanda, some big wig from Baton Rouge kept calling, but has not followed up, and assured me that they would make it right. Store manager comes out, because at this point, I will not allow the Professional installer, Brian, in my house with me alone, and takes cell phone pictures. He tells me that they will order the right size cabinets and fix it. This is right before Christmas. Merry Christmas. Then the cabinets come in, Brian and his boss and the store manager come to my house to finalize installation. They spend from 9am to 3pm at my house, and when they go to put the doors on the cabinets, they are the wrong doors.

So they have to order new ones. Store manager tells me that, he will send a different installer, I believe, because he didn't want to have to be here with Brian, not because it really mattered to him. Anyway, last Tuesday, installer from Beaumont, TX arrived with the new doors and fill piece for dishwasher. And to his surprise, not mine, 1 of the doors is the wrong size, and through 6 or 7 phone calls to Lake Charles Home Depot (Megan, ***) and the other is still in there store, which is a 45 minute ride one way from my home. Now they have to order another door and more toe kick, because the professional installer cut the toe kick too short. Mr. ** wanted installer to piece it, and both he and I said NO. It is now the end of Feb. I believe, I will be till March before the kitchen install is somewhat complete.

I flagged down a manager through the window and showed him my problem. He took one look at me and, without saying a word, turned around and walked away.

I went home and spent that night with no water. The very next morning I went to a local plumbing supply store, paid a few nickels more for the same product, and received advice on proper the installation and general maintenance of my plumbing system that was worth thousands of dollars. This event took place a couple of years ago. Since then I have spent tens of thousands of dollars in renovations on my home. By my estimates, less than $100 of that went to Home Depot, and only in the event that the price was too small to warrant driving further to another store or when Home Depot was the only place that had the particular part I was looking for.

Had kitchen cabinets refaced, measurements were done. Space measured for stove was 30 inches, had to make new cabinet to the right of the stove, when putting in stove it would not fit, called us remolders. It was a sat so I got no response. Had installers card so I gave him a call. Told him the situation and he proceeded to tell us how to move the cabinet. Four weeks later I decided that I wanted an island in the kitchen. Called Peter ** who is the sales rep for Home Depot. He came out and looked at the job of the refaced cabinets that were installed. He noticed that there was a gap between the cabinet and the stove and said that it should not look like that. When the installer comes back to install the island he would let him know to fix it. Drew up a work order sheet and wrote out what adjustments had to be made along with the island measurements.

On Feb 10 installer came over to install island. His name is Gerry. We were going over the work order sheet and I asked him about the cabinet to the right of the stove needed to be fixed. His reply me that he wasn't the installer that made the mistake on cabinet to the right of the stove and was not going to fix it. He wanted me to sign some papers and I refused until I got confirmation from the install manager as to what was going to happen. Gerry got all upset and stormed out of the house. When he came back he was more composed and started singing a different tune, like I did not give him enough time to explain himself. I in turn called Dennis the install manager, left messages, no return call. I then placed a call to Peter ** and told him about the situation. He called Dennis and then Dennis called Gerry.

Cabinet was fixed. Got a call from Dennis on Feb 11th and he wanted to know what happened. Told him the situation, he just covered up saying that Peter did not put it on the work order so therefore installer was not informed. Whenever I asked Gerry a question it would always be a negative response. For instance asked if I had to take the refrigerator out would it clear the island. His reply was "Don't know. I did not do measurements. I am here just to install island." He said that on the island that between the doors there should be a inch space to match the kitchen. He said that there is an inch. I did design this island. Every answer had a derogatory remark. Not people friendly at all.

On 1/16/09, my husband and I were made aware of a great offer Home Depot had on kitchen cabinets. As we are anxious to have our kitchen redone (it is the original - dating back to 1955), we paid the $100.00 fee for a kitchen design. Our credit card was charged, and we were told we would have someone call us to come out and take measurements. After that, we made our appt. for the actual design. When we went back, I was so anxious to see our new design but instead I was asked what I wanted. I quickly replied, “I thought that was what you did. I thought that was what we paid the $100.00 for.” I was told no; I had to tell them what I wanted!

After 2 hours of the salesperson pulling different cabinet sizes into the measurements he had (which were not accurate), he told us we would have to come back for a second appt. I was so exasperated and my husband came right out and asked what were his credentials for doing a kitchen design. He came right out and said he had none; he liked photography and birds! Upon receiving my bill (for the $100.00), I called to complain. I was told this person had a state certificate for kitchen design and that he gave us a quote of $6K. I told the manager that I gave the design to a real designer who promptly told us the design was absolutely horrific; the measurements were off (she came out and took her own measurements), and basically we were out $100.00.

I had to pay another fee for a real kitchen design and feel that Home Depot should have refunded my money. I feel like going back and asking to see this person's state certification! I have nothing against the person who did the design, but I feel he should have been up front before taking our money and telling us he had no real qualifications which he did tell us after the fact. The manager told me he was licensed but for all I know she could have been ** me just to save her **.

Don't count on any warranty from Home Depot. We bought our countertops and paid $6,000.00. A crack appeared about 16 months later. They came and looked at it. They told me they can't see how that would have happened. By the way, there is no warranty for cracking. Thanks Home Depot. During the sale, they told me all this great stuff - it's the last one you will ever buy; you can't hurt it unless you hit something on the edge, etc. Well the crack is nowhere near an edge. It is in the seam and goes through the middle. There is nothing they will do about it. So don't buy granite from Home Depot. If you get it somewhere else, get them to put the no cracking on paper.

We have been trying to reach resolution with Home Depot for the past 5 months. Every time we ask for an audit, it has been accidentally shredded; our phone calls have gone unreturned; we had long overruns on the job completion; and lack of communication from the complaints department. Finally, a meeting with the Home Depot team (first time to meet the store manager) and we were basically accused of having unrealistic expectation even though we brought three notebooks of documentation, pictures and spent over $25,000. It is an ordeal that I would not want any homeowner to experience. No, not Home Depot rather Home Disaster. I have proof.

We have had to eat out since October. My kitchen still is not complete and no one will resolve the situation. I'm completely at my wit's ends. I feel lied to and betrayed. They really don't care that they have not provided me the goods and services that I paid for.

On October 25th, 2008, I ordered a "special order" laminate countertop from the Home Depot on Capital Circle NE in Tallahassee, FL. I'd started replacing my countertops with in-stock pieces from the store. I specified, several times while placing the order, that I'd already started the project and wanted the exact edge (front and backsplash) as the ones on the in-stock pieces. Francis was the man who took the order and I offered on two occasions during his writing up of the order to go write down any numbers on the in-stock pieces he may need to be sure it was an exact match. He kept assuring me that he knew which edge it was and he didn't need me to get any numbers for him.

I'd also like to interject that he'd quoted me a price of $262 about 6 months earlier for this special order piece (longest in-stock piece is 10 ft. and the piece I needed was 11'3.5"). After completing his write up of the order, the total came to $412. When I asked why it was so much more than what he'd quoted me 6 months earlier, he claimed that he may have made an error, may not have included a backsplash, delivery, etc., etc. I needed the piece so I confirmed the order.

When the piece arrived 2 weeks later it was delivered to my house and the delivery truck had only one person - for a nearly 12' countertop. I had to help him carry it into the house myself (and cut my hand in the process). I didn't notice at the time that the edges weren't right - didn't realize it until I attempted the installation. When I reported it to the store, I was told that they'd take care of it right away - this was on a Sunday afternoon. I spoke first with Francis and then with Dennis, the manager. Meanwhile, I'd already removed the old countertop and disposed of it in preparation for the new one - so I had no countertop or functioning kitchen sink.

Several days later, I hadn't heard anything from anyone at the store. I provided a diagram, with exact measurements, of the countertops including the additional in-stock piece I ruined trying to get the corners to fit before realizing the edges were different. I gave the diagram to Susan (Dennis said she was his right arm) and she assured me they would get it right for me right away. I asked that they also replace the shorter piece that I'd ruined during my attempt at installation, before realizing that the edges were wrong. She said that wouldn't be a problem and they'd get it ordered as quickly as possible.

Two weeks later, I received a call from Francis stating that the long piece of the countertop would be delivered to my house, but for some reason the short piece was being delivered to the store and I'd have to pick it up there. When the delivery came, it was only the short piece, again with the wrong edge. I called the store immediately and spoke with Susan. When I told her what had transpired she said, "You're kidding me," and said she'd find out what happened and call me back. She finally called back the next day, no real answer for why the new order was screwed up as well, and why I didn't get the pieces they'd promised, with the correct edge.

Another week passed and I finally called the store and spoke with Francis again. This time he told me that he couldn't get the edge I wanted from the manufacturer they use - said the in-stock pieces were made by another company - he said he didn't recall me telling him that I needed the edges to match the in-stock pieces. At this point, I told him I'd had enough of their screw ups and wanted a full refund. He said he would forward that along to his manager. Several days later, I received a voice mail message from Susan saying they needed more information. I went back to the store in person and talked with Dennis, who didn't remember the scenario and that I'd need to bring the countertop back to the store for a refund.

I told him I absolutely was not going to bring a giant piece of countertop back to the store myself; I had no way to transport such a piece. He said, "Well, the only person who could pick it up is busy today and will be off for the next two days". Needless to say, I left in a huff after requesting that he have Susan call me to make the pickup arrangements. That was a week and a half ago - I have not heard a word from anyone at the store. I sent an email complaint to the corporate office and received a call from a Virginia **, but we've just been playing phone tag and nothing has been resolved. I am going to make one more attempt to get my refund before filing a civil suit against them.

My husband and I went there and purchased a refrigerator in August 2008. We specified to the salesman Richard ** that we needed a refrigerator, nothing fancy or too expensive to replace the one we had that expired in our garage. They had one there that seemed perfect, a Hotpoint. I began to notice over a month ago that stuff in the freezer was thawing out and the fan in the back was making a noise. So after going through hell to get someone here to look at it-- (That's another story. I didn't get the frig for almost a month after we purchased it because they only deliver in my area on the 16th of each month. I should have seen the warning signs. Their delivery system and repair method sucks!!) -- we found out from the repair guy that this refrigerator's freezer isn't working correctly because it needs to have a insulation kit installed, because it needs to be in a heated garage.

So my husband and I have been fighting back and forth with Home Depot. I called Ge and talked to a guy named Ben and he told me that they do not recommend putting any Ge refrigerators in the garage and there are no insulation kits for GE refrigerators. Some refrigerators do have a separate thermostat for the freezer, like maytag.. I am doing more research on others. My point is why didn't the salesman know this and tell us this to prevent us from going thru this hell? This was bait and trap to us or they have really dumb and inexperienced sales people.

I was told by Karen in the appliance dept that he wouldn't have known that unless he looked at the specs. HELLO!!! Isn't that his job? Isn't he suppose to know these things? They refuse to replace it with a maytag that they have there that has a separate thermostat. I am also reporting this to the state attorney general. I will never purchase any appliance from Home Depot and told all my friends and family not to as well. I will continue to fight this until I get satisfaction. I also purchased a GE washer and dryer from them just a couple months ago and already had to have the washer replaced and that was living hell because I had no washer for almost a month because of their sucky delivery system.

The order went through the bid room, cleared and was completely paid for. 1 month later, I get a call stating that I will have to pay for the hardware (even though I have the itemized receipt) and needed to make an additional payment. I requested to speak to the manager who stated that he will resolve the issue. For a couple of days, we go back and forth and Home Depot refuses to budge (even though my home remodel project is halfway stuck because of them). Another month goes by, and all I hear from Home Depot is the delivery schedule for the cabinets, nothing about hardware. Finally, after 2 months, all cabinets arrive, without the hardware. When I call them regarding the hardware, I get the same story I got a month ago (my receipt means nothing and I have to come back and pay additional $2000.00). This despite the fact that my itemized Home Depot receipt clearly lists the hardware. This is extremely unprofessional behavior and I demand an immediate resolution to the issue.

Being the financially-strapped young family that we are, we decided to have Home Depot do our kitchen, in an effort to save money. Huge mistake! Day 1: My husband takes the day off work, having been advised that he must be there to sign off on the cabinet delivery. Also, a subcontractor from Home Depot is supposed to come and take a wall out in our kitchen. The clock ticks... and ticks... and neither guy shows up. At 6 PM (yes, P.M.! ) the cabinet guy calls to say, Yeah, I'm not going to make it today. The other guy never even calls. When we finally track him down, the next day, he whines Well, it's huntin' season! Since this is only day one, we still have a decent sense of humor. It makes a good anecdote to amuse our friends.

2 weeks later: Yes, it's taken us this long to get the small wall removed so we can get our floor put in before the cabinets are installed. We have now been 10 days without a kitchen, have exposed wires running from floor to ceiling, and we are living in this house with our two small kids, aged one and four. My sense of humor is beginning to flag a little. Still, I am optimistic that our new kitchen is mere days away. 3 weeks later: We finally have cabinets installed. Home Depot had told us it would take only one day's labor to install the cabinets in our small kitchen after my husband did the tear-out. However, it took somewhat longer, because the installer claimed he had a family emergency (we later heard him talking with the counter top guy about the hunting trip he'd just returned from!) and sent his worthless buddy to do the work for him. The buddy took 5 days, which spanned a weekend, to do this work because he never showed up earlier than 11 AM and then had to measure everything 3 or 4 times before he finally got it right. And the 5 days spanned a weekend, so it ended up being 7.

Also, the installers refused to give us the $400 refund we were promised for the tear-out, saying we had to take that up with management, and complained a lot when we asked them to clean up the work site, as specified in our Home Depot contract. 5 weeks later: Yes, today marks 5 weeks that we have been doing our dishes in the bathtub and trying to keep our small children from sticking their hands into the exposed knife drawer, because we STILL have no counter tops, hence no sink and no dishwasher. All traces of our sense of humor have now vanished without a trace. Home Depot didn't bother to inform us, when we ordered Corian counter tops through them, that the Corian could not be ordered until after the cabinets went in (which, of course, took much longer than it should have) and that it would take 2 weeks from that date before we had counters or a sink. Well, it was supposed to take 2 weeks. Today was the day we were supposed to have our counter tops installed, but naturally the counter top guy did not show up (we were not even surprised), and when we called this morning, he said he had no idea where we'd got that date from (he'd told us the date himself!) and that he had us penciled in for Thursday.

So, I have now called every manager I can reach at Home Depot to complain, but am not hopeful this will bring any results. With Home Depot, it seems, you pay all your money in advance, so then they've got you over a barrel after that. They take no ownership or responsibility whatsoever for the work (or lack thereof) of their subcontractors. I hope someday we'll be able to look back and laugh about this horrible experience, but today, as I wash my baby's high chair tray off in the bathtub, it does not seem the least bit funny. This company's service (or lack thereof) explains why so many couples get divorced over remodels!

I installed the tile as the instructions indicated on the OmniGrip label and after 2 weeks of waiting for the product to set up and dry the tile into place, I discovered it was still as wet as the day I installed the tile. Subsequently, I had to individually remove each tile, scrape off the wet OmniGrip and wash each tile by hand to reinstall with another product.

As a result of this mislabeled and inferior product, I lost several days’ worth of time and energy. The money spent to purchase the OmniGrip was reimbursed by the manufacturer, Custom Building Products, after much aggravation and complaining. After speaking with Home Depot managers and employees, I learned that many consumers have had this same problem and do not understand why Home Depot continues to sell this product or why the labelling on this product is not correct.

When the Home Depot rep. looked at the plans and saw the major difference, he offered 50% off if they didn't have to change the cabinets. He told us that would take effect after the kitchen was 100% complete. After numerous problems and many days off work, nobody showed up or contacted us. The kitchen still has issues.

They extended their 0% interest 3 times which is 3 years. We contacted Home Depot at the end of the third year for them to make the discount adjustment before any interest would accrue and we would make the repairs ourselves. Home Depot now denies any discount and is expecting us to pay for the kitchen in full, plus interest for a kitchen that's not what we wanted in the first place and only moved forward with it based on the 50% discount.

It all began over two years ago when we spent around $40,000 having Home Depot put down new floors, carpet, replace our kitchen cabinets and install all new appliances for us, which we purchased four-year extended warranties for all of the appliances except the new stove. The new floors were installed first and I have to admit, they are beautiful, so we continued to use Home Depot. The kitchen however, was a nightmare. The job was measured incorrectly and therefore the upper cabinets were not installed flush against the window and overhang the soffit they are attached to.

When we complained to the installer, he said that they had to go that way because the decorative valance we had selected could not be cut to fit the space without cutting in to the design, but rather than tell us that so we could have picked another valance, he just took it upon himself to install the cabinets with the gaps beside the window and the overhang, which he told us that WE could fill in the overhang with a piece of drywall if we wanted to and it would good as new IF we still had some of the wall border left that we had used in the kitchen.

All the complaining in the world got us nowhere, so we are unhappily living with it. And oh, btw, when they tell you they install the sink, that means attach it the counter top... It does not however include any plumbing... Being the idiot I am, I thought installation meant installing something to working condition. Anyway, the motor in the dishwasher went out after about a year and a half and we called the extended service plan people and they send out a subcontractor who installed a new motor... About three months later, we had to have another motor installed and a month after that, it was broke again...so, the same guy came out, tried to install another motor (it took him 10 days to even get it) and he broke the motor trying to put it in. So he made a phone call (I didn't hear what he said to them) to the warranty company and then told us that they were going to replace the dishwasher.

We did have a Maytag... and that's what we purchased a four-year warranty on. What they DON'T tell you is that the warranty is NOT through Maytag, but through G.E. and that when they have to replace a unit, it voids the extended warranty, even though you are only two years into the warranty. They do NOT refund any money for the two years left on the warranty and it's not transferable BECAUSE, since it is a G.E. warranty (which you are NOT told when it is offered to you), they will only replace it with a G.E. product... They gave us a model number and told us to look at the replacement online to see if we liked it and we told them that we did not. It looked cheaper and smaller than the Maytag we had and asked about the next model up, which was comparable in price to what we paid for the Maytag two years ago and were told that we would have to pay an additional $100 to get the upgrade, which of course we didn't feel we should have to do and so we said no.

Well, they installed the cheap piece of crap and just as we expected, wheels fall off all the time, we have to wash everything on the "Pots and Pans" cycle to even have a small chance that anything will actually be clean... It's just horrible. Did I call and complain? Nope... I went through so much with the kitchen experience that I just can't deal with those people anymore. And during the time of the kitchen disaster, the store owed me money back where they had overcharged me for items they never used (my daughter spotted that, believe it or not, she used to work for them, that's why we trusted them).

I waited about three weeks AFTER the store manager told me the money had been put in my bank account before I went down to confront him and he yelled at me at the service desk in front of other customers basically saying that I was lying about not getting the money, and I went to the car in tears. My daughter went back in the store and asked him to print the paperwork showing the refund had been processed and surprise... He just couldn't believe it. It had never been processed!!! He just didn't give a crap and was as tired of dealing with me as I was of dealing with him, so he told my daughter to tell me to come back in and he gave me a cash refund for those items. So, I will NEVER, EVER buy another item from Home Depot and I am just praying the other appliances hold out so that I don't have to use the extended warranties... but the dryer is making a funny sound... sigh.

I told the installer to hold it until I talk to home depot. I drove to the store, I took a piece of the granite that was delivered with me. Brad was willing to take the granite back. Well, I already had some one remove the old counter top. Brad knew that I was in a bad situation and I had no choice, because I will have to wait another 6 weeks to get the color I ordered.

So finally, Brad offered a $500 discount on the total price. I had to take it, because I needed my kitchen back in order. Any way, I called my wife who was not happy about the color, she agreed because she needs a kitchen counter, then I called the installer and told them to go a head and install the counter top. At the time I asked brad to give at least 50% discount, since it was their fault for sending me the wrong color, which my wife, my children and myself hate so much, he refused and informed that he would rather throw it in the trash, because he will have no use for it. Then he said, That is all I can do for you, take it or leave it. I had to take it, because I needed a kitchen.

There were 29 boxes of cabinets and 10 of those cabinets were either scratched or damaged. I called Home Depot and told them about the cabinets and I was really unhappy about their construction also. They are put together with staples and glue. I believe they should have pointed that out to me before I ordered them. Had I known that, I would not have ordered them at all. The girl I talked to said "Well we are not going to come and pick them up."

I was going to be leaving soon for overseas to help my daughter, who is in the military reserve and needed someone to watch their three children. Her husband is active duty military also. I have a daughter living close to me here and told her if they call to come and pick up the cabinets, let them into the property to get them. I told Home Depot that I had to leave and was not sure when I would be back, but they could contact my daughter and she could let them in to pick up the cabinets. She said they called and wanted to come and look at the cabinets. They did. They later called her and said they had ordered another cabinet to replace the heavy damaged one and would be mailing some touch up paint to cover the scratches.

She sent me an email and told me they wanted to bring up another cabinet. I told her to tell them I don't want another cabinet, I just want them to come and get them. They did not. I was gone for 5 months and when I got back, I called the manager Jack. He told me he was not here when all of that happened and he would have to investigate the matter and call me back the next day. He did not call back in a week so I called again. He was not there so I asked for the name of the general manager who is on another island.

A lady working for Home Depot called and left me a message the next day saying Jack had asked her to call and tell me they can't pick up the cabinets as too much time has passed. I am almost 67 years old and this would have been the first time in my life I could have had a new kitchen. What a nasty experience I've had with these people. (located in PA). To date, I have gone through three different sets of countertops (laminate) due to incorrect measurements, cutting and carelessness of one of the LamTech employees. At first I was told by HD to speak with LamTech directly about my problem. I constantly had to go back and forth between HD and LamTech to keep them abreast of the situation.

Long story short, the first two times the countertops were not measured or cut correctly. We received money back (measuring fee + $105 for the inconvenience)from HD. The third and what I hoped to be the last time, one of the LamTech employees was impatient and ripped off one the protective corner coverings rather than taking care and using proper tools to remove it. By doing this, he ruined part of the laminate and wood underneath. At that point my husband told the LamTech reps to remove all countertops from our home as we were not going to go through this process a fourth time. He also called the LamTech customer service, which didn't seem to blink an eye at the situation. He decided to go in person to HD customer service and actually received most of our money back. We are still owed $154. Hopefully we will get that back.

Unfortunately, this situation is still not resolved, we now have to get a different contractor to come measure and deliver a set of kitchen countertops and will probably wait another month or so. I can only hope it is the same price or lower. We have wasted precious time and money on this project. Since we do not have existing countertops, we have not been able to cook meals for almost two months. Not to mention time wasted waiting around for them to re-measure and deliver time and time again. It is my opinion that LamTech should pay for my new countertops or compensate us for the time lost and money we spent to eat out. This has been a very stressful and frustrating experience. I will never go through HD for any project or conduct business with LamTech ever again.

Shortly after I paid for 90% of the purchase, the kitchen consultant was transferred to another store out of state. After she left, I never heard from anyone at the store. The next thing I knew the cabinets were delivered in November. I had more contact with the installers and none with the store. At no time did it seem like any of the people involved in the project talk to each other. The lower part of the cabinets were put in - in December and then the countertop came. The color was correct but not the design. There were markings on the countertop that I had no idea were going to be on there.

I went back and forth for months and I mean months between Home Depot and Dupont. Dupont said there was nothing wrong with the countertop. Home Depot said it was Duponts fault. Then, Home Depot wanted to know why I didn't say anything when I got the sample. WHAT SAMPLE? I had no one touch my file after the rep left back in August/September 2007. I wasn't sent any sample. The only thing I was shown was the piece that hung in the store which did not have any markings on it. No one at that store has spoken with me until the issue with the countertop.

It was time to go higher (according to the assistant store manager - there is no higher than their store.) Luckily, I did manage to get a really nice woman in customer service that helped me out. After a couple more months, I finally got a new countertop in May/June 2008. I had to pay for the removal since the Westampton store says that they would not cover it. (At first, they told me that Corian countertops could not be removed!)

The incompetence of the Westampton store in their lack of customer service has scarred me from ever purchasing anything from Home Depot. It should not take almost 1 year for a kitchen to be remodeled. I should not be given wrong information on purpose about what can and can not be done when they are suppose to be experts in home improvement.

I did not have a working kitchen for months and months. No one cared. I had boxes sitting in my living room and kitchen for months and months and months. One anticipates some discomfort but not for prolonged periods of time. This was the most costly and stressful experience I ever had.

Purchased American Woodmark cabinets first week of June 08, Recieved Cabinets 4 weeks later. 1 pantry wall cabinet was damaged, called expeditor at store and she reordered. Recieved new cabinet 1 week later. Home Depot contractor started installing cabinets the day i recieved replacement cabinet. Installer finished the install the next day. The install crew did an outstanding job of installing and cleaned the kitchen of all trash before they left.

Nothing wrong, this job went perfect. home depot did an outstanding job for my family, they rate a 10 out of 10. We were informed of all areas of concern, time frames, were given a complete list of what services and products we purchased. What amazes me is that before you purchase a kitchen from home depot, there is a checkoff form/contract that customers are required to sign, prior to purchase, stating they have read carefully and fully understand, prior to purchase. its amazing how the complaints on this site don't mention that or reflect that the customers are just as responsible as is home depot.

I want to return it. 2: Came and give me estimate for ceramic tiles. They charge me $2000.00 extra in the middle of installation for removing some tiles under the carpet. At the time of measurement they saw the tiles and were suppose to remove them. I have contacted you many times during past year. No reply. Is there anybody there that can help me?

During the past year my 80 years old mother got sick emotionally and physically and put economic burden on us. They glued and ruined the new kitchen cabinets. And put our project on halt. I had to pay for unwanted countertops and the extra charges for Ceramic tiles. Because they harassed me to get the money and I did not want to have bad credit. I am very frustrated because I have contact you many times and I have not heard anything from you. Home Depot is robbing customers and nobody can help!?

My husband and I were approached in Home Depot about setting up an appointment for Home Depot cabinet refacing. The sales person who came to our home, Mark I., represented himself as an employee of Home Depot from San Diego who was in Atlanta to train other Home Depot cabinet refacing salespeople. He, and Zach Massell, who remained quiet nearly the entire time, stayed in our home for 5 hours--until midnight! A large part of this time was spent by Ivory selling Home Depot and their products and services. He talked at length and several times, about how the installerS would be Home Depot employees. My husband even asked, to reinforce their point, if their installer's pay checks come from Home Depot, and Ivory said yes, they ARE Home Depot employees. He went on and on about how you don't want to hire "a guy and his truck". He talked at length about a law suit against Home Depot which involved their subcontractors and how they now USE THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES and do not contract out their work.

Now as I set here, one person (not a crew), "a guy and his truck", subcontractor is in my home installing cabinet refacing materials from yet another subcontractor, US Home Systems, who unbeknownst to me is the actual company we have been dealing with since we were approached in the Home Depot store. It is upsetting enough that these imposters came into our home knowingly and puposely misrepresenting themselves, but they also misrepresented the work which would be done. To name a few that we have so far discovered problematic are: they were to install an over-the-range microwave, "REPLACE" warped wood under the sink, put a nice decorative trim at the top of the cabinets, put in nice corbels, and install a tilt-down drawer under the sink.

The subcontractor who installs says he isn't allowed to install microwaves. he can not replace the warped wood under the sink--he is just covering it with a piece of veneer, there was no such decorative trim, the corbels are not decorative and are more plain than any you can find at the store, and they only put in the tilt out drawer IF one will fit. We definately would not have agreed to this deal if we had known we were not dealing with Home Depot and that the work would be subcontracted out! We probably wouldn't have gone along had we known they wouldn't intall the new microwave.

The pull out shelves in the corner turned out to not be possible according to the measurer. I called after they had not called back with the promised price adjustment and asked about intalling a lazy susan. The guy came back out and said yes, they could install it. However the intaller has said it may fall apart. We definately wouldn't have gone along had we known these imposters were promising all these things in order to make a sale, and that either the measurer or the installer is also lying or not qualified.

I wait with a knot in my stomach to find out what else will not be as it was represented, Now we're out more than $12,000 for something we never would have done had we known the truth.

Title: I Think I Will Pass Away Before Completing My Kitchen. Total Time: 12/06 to Present 7/28 Ongoing Situation. 4/07 - ordered kitchen from Home Depot & recd wrong order and seriously bad quality goods took full time letters, call, store visits and aggravation to finally have them take back kitchen they knew their designer had screwed up. 8/07 Finally ordered another kitchen from the above company & person per contract they were to handle from soup to nuts also we were granted and eligible for 100% financing to be paid in 12 months. Also, perks of free dvd or

    free sink.

To Date I am still living with a hole above my refrigerator still missing the 30" depth cabinet he owes me since from 10/07 receipt/install of cabinets. He ordered in error 24" above refrig.cabinet,24" refrig. side panels & 24" decorative panels to be placed on side of refrigerator facing dining area. Measurements of six month old refrig. was given to him prior to the order and contract for refrig. When cab.arrived 10/07 refrig. was found to stick out over 8". We tried to work with him restocking refrigerator at time was too expensive and a smaller one would not be big enough for our needs so we said he should make good his mistakes. This was only few of the many. Because this involved the side panels of the refrigerator which was not far from the sing we were not able to put in granite, thus not able to put in a sing, dishwasher, stove, refrig, etc. translates into no use of kitchen and life as we knew it for 10 months. (This is not counting episode with Home Depot 6 mos. no KITCHEN)

From day one he lied repeatedly, 1)re: side refrigerator cab. panels 2)re: above refrig. cabinet 3)re: decorative panels on one side of refrig....told us Decora Cabinets do not make anything but 24" depth cabinets..our reply was we gave your measurements of 30" deep refrigerator if that was case why didn't you tell us? Conclusion: We called Decora Cabinets they make all depths including the 30" needed even after he admitted mistake did not immediately comply waited till we wrote letter of complaint to Finance Company who paid him in full despite us telling them that he did not fullfil him contract in the above and many other issues (See my detailed complaint to G.E. Moneybank in our formal dispute letter, registered to them) When the above vendor replied to G.E. Moneybank they did not even get back to us to further investigate his lies they ruled against us. We then wrote to Consumer Affairs who wrote and made a personal appearance to them to resolve issue he said he would and did nothing.

I could go on and on about how in 10/07 how he changed the conditions of the contract for his installers benefit not to pay the G.E. Moneybank Finance charge to businesses, and last minute asked us to come up with over $3,000 cash when we were given permission by him and G.E. to Finance total project. Also, under the pressure of my writing and calling G.E. and Consumer about a list of things he still did not do regarding installation of all appliances, install problems, cab. adjustments, two doors one grossly discolored (cherry wood) and one warped that could have been easily and quickly replaced by the vendor Decora but instead angry that we tried to make him accountable to just the reasonable things we contracted for walked off the job until March 7, 2008, (being held hostage with great inconvenience and damaage to my home, health, finances, life committments, holidays destroyed, unable to function, not to mention stress at home full time. Even when he return in March it was only through my talking with Consumer and having to obtain and agree to take a few thousands out of my pocket to pay for something I was given permission to finance.

March 2008 he came and when we took the goods he delivered in 11/07 to my house it was found only the 30" dept side panels to the refrigerator were ordered correctly. He did not order the 30" deep above refrigerator cabinet he took the 24" refrig. cab. that was installed 10/07 and tried to replace it with another 24" cabinet when we called it to his attention he said he would tell the company to bring us the correct one and took that cabinet too....to date....we are still with a hole over our refrig. 10 mos. later. Regarding the decorative panels his workmen took them out of the box and immediately brought it to my attention that there was large gaps around and between the panels which did not enable them to cover the existing side panels of the refrig. This is the purpose of the decorative panels. Also, they did not match the other side of the kitchen, decorative panels which covered the underneath panels sufficiently. They differed tremendously from the original decorative panels 24" deep which covered the panel properly and these new ones did not. The installer called he said we signed off on them so we had to keep them and refused to take them back and get new ones. We signed off on the 30" depth his got the rest of the measurements from Decora Cabinets he said and told us they were the very best they had to cover the 30" deep 90" high area.

We called Decora Cabinets who informed us they have standard & custom doors that would cover the area in question properly and professsionally. His installer said we should not have trusted him. That being said, they left with many more things to be installed irregardless of having paid them cash that day as agreed and the rest to be paid upon completions Mr. Chris B., with his staff and installers refused to return our calls, non of his employees would help us or return our numerous call, registered letter or faxes sent from Staples. Even Mr. G. from Better Business Bureau sympathizing with our plight went to see him in person and he sent a letter saying he would comply but never did. I could not find the leak, called a plumber who determined that the casting had a pin hole leak in it. The faucet had the warranty (lifetime warranty on function and finish). I took it back to Home Depot. The response of the plumbing manager was that it was past 90 days since it was purchased. The best he could do was to offer 10 percent off on a new faucet.

I have paid a plumber to find a leak in your defective faucet, paid the plumber for another faucet, and paid to have the new faucet installed. I figure that your faulty faucet cost me close to $300: $200 for plumber and faucet, $99 the cost of the faulty faucet.

on 6/16/08 we ordered kraftmaid kitchen cabinets and had to pay them in full (total $20,428.74) to get the order filled. The estimated delivery date was 4-6 weeks. At the end of the 4th week I went to my salesperson to check on the order and I was told that the order was on hold and that Home Depot made a mistake on the kraftmaid prices and they owed us 15% back of the total amount. They reprinted the order and put it through again and promised to expedite.

Off-course we welcomed the 15% refund and figured that a few more weeks are worth it!! The new estimated delivery date was set as 7/24/08. On 7/23 when we did not get a confirmation from them about the delivery, we went back to the store to ask what is happening. We were told that there was a big mistake and that they should have never given us back the money but since it happened Home Depot will honor it and will ask its suppier Kraftmaid, to fill the order (again....the order wasn't put through the second time either). They said that they will take the loss as Home Depot and expedite the order and will notify us next day of the new (and final....) delivery date.

When they called on 7?24 they said that their supplier refused to fill in the order with the lower price and they cannot proceed unless we pay the balance and they also said that Kraftmaid prices had been increased and their computer did not (again by mistake) reflect the increased prices! We never asked them to refund us anything - we paid the full order in cash from the beginning and we have been taken for a ride ever since. They still are holding our money until we make our decision.

May 21st I settled on my house. My husband and I went to home depot that evening and ordered basically a whole new kitchen, cabinets, countertop, flooring, light fixtures, appliances, etc. I had a personal contractor who had taken my measurements and that is what we had used. My husband was dealing with the kitchen attendent and placed the order. We recieved our cabinets a month later on june 20th . When my contractor installed them, they were mismatched two diffrent style drawer fronts. We recevied no edging or molding for the island wrong spacers. I could go on and on. So at this time my husband was deployed to iraq.

I personally called and let them know I would now be the contact and here was my number. I would be stopping in to address my issues. I arrived at the Aberdeen home depot along with my contractor who I was paying to be there, to speak with a manager after being pushed to the side 15 minutes later he arrived By the name of Toks. He was very rude screaming and yelling telling me his kitchen designer was the best blah, blah, blah, I was so embarrassed. I never want to return there again. So by the end of this screaming match, He assured me after the fact my husband had to call from Iraq and my mother had to speak for me because I was so upset, that he would order the drawer fronts and the molding and edging for the island and would discount it.

So I left [upset] to say the least. I arrived home to wait to hear something on the matter. 2 weeks pass I call home depot to see the status. they tell me that they had ordered what I needed it and it would be delivered soon, so I asked about my counter top they said oh, "well the tech tried calling you?" I said did you give them my number because I called and I had said My husband was deployed? Well this older woman says "why did you give them your husbands number as the contact if he was going to iraq!" I said excuse me but I did not know he was going to be deployed so early neither did he. Thank you. She rolled her Eyes and it resulted in me crying.

So my contractor who again I'am paying for goes in to homedepot and speaks to another manager. Denise, She seemed nice I explain to her my situation she said I will take care of everything with the discount as well. So again I leave, here it is 2 months later,I have no kitchen half ass cabinets and no sink no coutertop, it's a mess. In between me working my husband deployed and me trying to remodel a house, having to call these people because no one returns my calls or follows up, having to pay my contractor extra I just want to rip everything up and sit it in front of homedepot. So I deal with all of this.

Well my countertop is finally arrived it is too long and it has a boa in the middle. My measurement I gave them were not what they had cut. So again I call homedepot speak with denise, she blames the tech not home depot they schedule a date for a tech to come fix the countertop which he did. On this call to Denise, come to find out they have not even ordered my draw front.I explain to her also a cabinet door is not right one cabinet out of 8 has a double door front instead of a single and it is hitting the wall very badly. She said I will have my contractor come out or send you the new door, I will have mike the cabinet guy call your contractor. My contractor gets a call where this guy says I'm not sending the other door. cut 16th of an inch off then sand the doors and if she(meaning myself) doesn't like it i'll send you some stain. I'm now ******. I spoke with denise she said she would have the cabinet door front sent to me! Now this guys caling saying something diffrent. Are they going to pay for this extra work they are asking my contractor to do, when they are clearly the one in the wrong.

so It is now July 18th. I call customer service leave a complaint, they say we will be getting back to you with in 48-72 hours. They apologized up and down, and the man asks, did you call denise and let her know what is going on? I said no. Im the one who has been with out a kitchen for 2 months, who has made it perfectly clear to them that I have lots of issues with this kitchen, she should be calling me!! they know what is going on they sholuld have followed up with me Im the customer, thats why I am coming to you. He said you are right I will put this in to claims wait to hear from us. So I wait fri, sat, sun, mon, tues, and still nothing. Now july 23rd I call to ask customer service what is going on? They say we will Have Jennifer call you . Never got a phone call. Now the 24th I call again, they again tell me Jennifer is not in, she will call you back. I leave a message, then I call homedepot and ask for denise. They tell me she is on vacation!

So I ask for a manager and It is Toks the gentleman who screamed at us in the beging. I am calm and explain my story one more time, He says let me call you back! I am so feed up with everything, If this was my doing I would completly take the blame, but my measurements were correct, I have spent at least 10,000.00 dollars at this location. I remodeled everything, hard wood floors, lights, drywall, kitchen, appliances, vents, filters, wood, supplies, you name it. We bought it.

I am so fustrated. this has been the worst 2 months of my life. I don't know what else to do.I have a half finished kitchen and still no answers. I don't even truly know if they have ordered what I need to complete my project! You can do it, We can ***** ***! that is what their slogan should be. My next step is a lawyer.

Friday July 18th, my brother-in-law told us about a site on the internet that had the same cabinets and we could get them for2931.00. We contacted them to see if they where a retail store and where told yes. That price is given to anyone who walks in off the street. Monday July 21st, I went back to Home Depot with the written quote and asked if they could meet or beat the price as in their guarantee. After my counter top was delievered 2 weeks late, it was wrong and the only solution I was given was that I could reorder.

They have no consideration for customer service. What should I tell my customer who is already three weeks without a kitchen. H.D. must realize that they will eventually lose business. In April, 2007 I purchased new kitchen counter top. At that time there was a promotion that if I spend $299.00, or more there would be no interest for twelve months. This was work done after hurricanes Katrina and Rita. When Home Depot started billing me, there was interest accrued. I called the customer service number to ask why. I never received a response that I could understand. The account has been closed at my request. There is a considerable balance owed, and interest continues to accrue. Because of illness, and loss of employment I am no longer able to pay Home Depot. If I am not allowed to be part of the class action suit because the account is in arrears that's okay. I still want you to know that this happened.

The interest caused the balance to be higher than I originally was led to believe it would be. Now, I am unable to pay it at all because the funds are no longer availabe. I suppose had there been no interest there is the possibility that I could have paid it off within the twelve months I thought I had even with the job loss.

I bought my American Woodmark kitchen cabinets from Home Depot ($8,000.00) worth of cabinets. The delivery company used by American Woodmark, the makers of the kitchen cabinets, used Cargo Masters in Ft. Lauderdale. While making the delivery to my home, they broke an elephant tusk given to me about 25 yrs ago and they used a cart that had grease on it and made a trail of grease on my oriental rug.

I tried contacting Home Depot, since I financed my cabinets with them, all they did was give me the numbers to Cargo Maters. Michael Schwartz, whom I dealt with at Cargo Masters, is rude. Very uncooperative person. I asked for his address and tried twice to send certify mail requesting reimbursement for my loss. Mail came back, saying the address didn't exist. Went back to Home Depot, they contacted Cargo Masters, gave me a new address. Nothing on that address, it came back again. No cooperation, only frustration. Went back to Home Depot, all they did was tell me to contact Cargo Master, again.

Tried several times again to contact Cargo Masters, they disconnected the number that I had. Went to Home Depot frustrated and the store manager said she would take care of it. She contacted American Woodmark, American Woodmark contacted me. They would only give me $1,000.00 for my loss. My tusk was estimated at $800.00 (I couldn't have it authenticated by a museum, so I settled for a firm in Chicago which charged me $395.00).

All I want is the expenses I went thru because of negligence on behalf of Cargo Masters. Home Depot has passed the ball on this one, taking no responsibility for who they hire. I told them I don't want their money, all I want is the same tusk and they can send someone to clean the rug. But to this date, nothing has been corrected and this happened back in May 2007 and I'm still dealing with it.

I would never sign any agreement with Home Depot, Home Depot Expo as their business plan which is unknown to the consumer is to "NEVER PAY A CLAIM."

Do not ever sign any agreement with Home Depot unless you hire a good contract attorney and have them agree to pay you in case of their negligence. Loss of kitchen, living room and over $60,000 and tons of mental aggravation.

WE also got counter tops at the same time, well the guys who came to install them have one corner cut to long so the counter dose'nt cover the cabinet drawers. They are supposed to come monday morning and tear it all up and take it back to the shop and cut it right then bring it back and reinstall it.

so now we are still waiting on a cabinet that is warped, and when it gets here they say they will come and install it. So my question is what can be done about this and why should we have to pay for something that was to be done right in the first place.mind you we have already made two payments on this. As everyone says the workers should know what they are doing and get it right the first time. so i guess we are done with home depot unless we get some satisfaction. The estimator at the store wrote down the wrong measurements and when the template was done for my new kitchen counter top, the price ended up being 800 dollars more than the estimate. I canceled the work. A Home Depot expediter called the next day to ask me to come back and tell me they would do it for the original price they quoted. I reluctantly came back. Another template was done. At this point it was already more than a month after I placed the order.

Two weeks later, they came to install the counter top. The installer damaged my new kitchen cabinet, and was rude to me when I pointed it out. I did not sign off on the installation because there were several problems besides these. The counter top did not fit properly. The back splashes were the wrong size and ended up being cut (they now have a very sharp edge), the sink had a reveal on it which I did not request, and my sink cabinet was cut into unnecessarily.

Subsequently, an inspector came from both the Home Depot and Unico, the company they contracted to do the installation. They both agreed the counter top needed replacing. They did not agree about the sink or the sink cabinet. I called the sink manufacturer who sent me a letter stating that though it is an industry standard to install their sink with a reveal, this was something a home owner should be offered a choice about. At this point, the Home Depot inspector called to say they would not fix the sink cut out, or the sink cabinet they had damaged, and that my case would be referred to the corporate office.

A few weeks later, I got a message from Nikkia Bagley at the corporate office. I called back withing a few hours and left her a message. I did not hear back from her. So I called back 3 times and left 3 separate messages after that. I still did not hear back from her. I called once again and finally contacted her. it is now over 3 months since the order was placed. She offered me a $200 gift certificate to make up for the problems. She also said since the industry standard was to have a reveal on that sink, it was up to me to have researched that and I should have asked the template maker to have that done. The template maker told me that the sink cut out is computer programmed to match the sink I bought. Nikkia also said she never received any of my messages, and that she herself tried to contact me 3 times. This is a complete lie. She also said she was never told that my sink cabinet was damaged. I had given that information to every single individual I had spoken to, from the installer, to customer service (who assured me they were documenting everything I was saying), to the inspector who came here.

I was without a counter top for 2 months, and could not use my kitchen. My brand new sink cabinet is damaged, and there is space between it and the counter top. The back splashes are very sharp on a corner where it is dangerous. The caulk around the sink is uneven and there are spaces/gaps in it. One pf the counter tops is a 1/2 inch wider at one side than at the other, and does not cover the cabinets on one side. This has been a very stressful renovation and the Home Depot has contributed greatly to my stress. I have had to make many calls, and do much of my own research into this since the start of this project. $200 will certainly not make up for the hours I have lost of my time, and my failing health due to the stress this has caused. This has also made me even less trustful of any contractors from now on. And I am still living in a pig sty, 4 months later because this project is not finished. I have to pay someone/find someone to come and fix it now after 4 months of headaches. I have disputed the charge with their credit services, and they are processing it. I want my kitchen back. It will take weeks, maybe months and a lot more money to get someone to take the counter top out (which they Home Depot refuses to do) and replace it with a proper one.

I have been trying to resolve issues with my Kraftmaid cabinet purchase since mid 2006. After having dealt with at least 10 various people representing Home Depot and still no resolution as of 3/17/08.

Their best and only offer is to date $2500 - a laughing offer considering the timespan and efforts I have made. I am now at the point where I am asking for credit. I no longer have any patience left to resolve the issues and have no faith that Kraftmaid nor Home Depot can resolve the issue to my satisfaction. I am convinced that the quality of the Kraftmaid cabinets is substandard. I am asking for at least 50% credit ($5,558,72) of my initial order($11,117,43)

I feel that is amount is fair and reasonable as I have lived without a completed kitchen for almost 2 years, dealt with numerous personnel, labor to swap many doors, costs and labor to dispose of enormous amounts of packing for replacement doors, and accrued interest.

I purchased KraftMaid buffet cabinets from Home Depot. The total price was $4,981.85. The cabinets were delivered on time but with the wrong parts. The counter tops were not made correctly. They were missing edge trim on two sides. The toe kicks were made from particle board instead of plywood as specifically stated in the order. The Home Depot sales person (Nalani) refused to correct the error with the toe kick. We are still in dispute about the counter tops. The sales person lied to me when we placed the order. First she claimed the plywood toe kick was not available. Then when I found out from KraftMaid that they were available, she just claimed that the order listed the particle board parts and that is what I was stuck with. She obviously lied about the availability of the plywood toe kick again when she called my back after the cabinets were delivered and I found the error. She again just told me they were not available when I knew they were. In fact I ordered some of the correct ones at Lowes!

I can't wait to see how they handle the counter top issue because this is an expensive problem that I will not let go away like the toe kick. I did a kitchen remodel last year with Lowes. What a better experience that was. Lowes bent over backwards to fix any problems I had including FedEx delivery of any replacement parts and providing items I should have ordered but didn't - FOR FREE. I only went to Home Depot for this project because they had a lower cost promotion going and I saved a small amount of money. Actually I only saved less than half as much as I should have because of Home Depot's careful use of fine print to limit savings at the register. LOWES NOW HAS ALL MY BUSINESS. Personal and corporate.

The carpenter is unable to finish the project and I will be left paying for his time plus the time for another carpenter to finish the project when I eventually get the parts.

The first order showed up November 9th, 2007, some beat up, some with shoddy finish on the doors and unfinished sides of the cabinet ends that are seen. We then had home depot re-order the damaged pieces. We waited some more. American Woodmark Corp. Inc. sent their cabinet replacements direct. When they showed up, we have in installed the door that we could and had the other ten or so pieces re-ordered once again.

We are now on our 8th re-order from American Woodmark Corp. Inc. Everthing has either been broken or maple spice finish has defects in the process in which they assemble them. We paid Home Depot good money to handle the problem at hand and the response after we asked does this happen a lot, Scott Nelson said, "Well, @#$% happens, but we'll take care of it." Wow the customer service in that takes paying people for a service to a whole new level! Our last shipment for a panel, not a whole new cabinet, just a veneer maple looking piece that I have to glue on myself came wrong again. More waste of my time. Time, energy, waste of time, months of this unsatisfied attempts to get cabinets. Home Depot has offered to do nothing, telling me to call the rep from American woodmark, telling me to do foot work to get my cabinets right! Shouldn't home depot be responsible for us not being able to put our house on the market?

At that time, I put in laminate countertops, to make the remodel affordable at that time. I just had new granite counters installed, and I am just thrilled with every aspect of dealing with Home Depot, and more directly, with the granite company that actually provides the material and installation for them. They were informative, in constant contact with me, called me to arrange for templating and installation, arrived on time, had only to wait one week from the time I chose my granite slabs until installation of the counters. I just can't say enough good things about my experience. After reading some of the horror stories, I really was concerned, and I just want to add a well deserved positive account.

On the 17th of December we paid Home Depot $12,558.00 for cabinets to be ordered. The next week we purchased a double oven in the amount of $1,000.00 from the same store. Then we purchased an over the range microwave at a cost of $300.00 We received a call from the cabinet factory late December telling us our cabinets would leave the factory January 9, 2008. The installer contacted us and set up a date of Jan. 12 to install the cabinets. On the 10th, I had some guys come in and rip out the old cabinets, sink and stove and repaint the kitchen expecting new cabinets the 12th. The 12th arrived and I took the day off from work which cost me about $150.00, and no cabinets showed.

I contacted Home Depot and was advised they would be there on the 14th which was the following Monday. The 14th rolled around and still no cabinets. Keep in mind my wife and I are eating out or whatever because we have no stove, no microwave, no cabinets and no sink. Again I contacted the store to complain about my cabinets not being delivered. I was told to let them see if they could locate them, and they would contact me. That night I got a call telling me they did not know where the cabinets were at this point. Tuesday the 15th, I received a call from 3PD Trucking which delivers for Home Depot and was advised our cabinets were in their warehouse and had been since the 8th. I was then told that he only delivers when he has a truck full to deliver because he is in Marietta and I am in St. Mary's . I called managers and District managers and was always told we are working on it. This is Thursday the 17th, and I am still waiting to hear any more from anyone.

Loss of work (another $150) which will result in another day off when they do the install. I had to cancel the tile guys for the third time. I will probably have to hire someone else after this. Cost of eating out. Loss of sleep and stress related to this.

In Sept. I ordered a Travertine countertop for my kitchen. I went to the Expo, and they showed me several types of materials; and the Travertine was the one I liked the most. They showed me a piece of it that was smooth as glass. So in Sept. I ordered it, and in Oct. they finally came to install it; and when they installed it, they damaged my custom hand-made cabinets. I had these cabinets made to perfect, 90 degree angles. You could put a straight edge on them, and it was perfect. They installed the countertop, and there are gaps everywhere, the edges are all curved here or there, there isn't a straight line in it.

They installed it using epoxy--permanently gluing it to the custom cabinets, gluing the new $5oo Silgranite sink to it, and gluing it to the backsplash too. Once it was done and cleaned up all the dust on it, we all noticed the pin holes everywhere and then even larger holes about the size of peas. I did not order a countertop that will trap food and bacteria in it, so I asked them to fix it. They said they could rip it all back up, and all the damages are at my costs. What? Now they are refusing to do anything about it saying I shouldn't have ordered a natural stone like Travertine....Hey, they sold it to me telling me it was a perfect choice. Do not ever get a countertop from them. It will be damaged and full of holes, and they will refuse to fix the problem too.

I know have a $3000.00 countertop full of bacteria filled holes, and they say no one can fix it--this and also over $700 in damages in the cabinets while installing it.

I had Home Depot install Silestone Countertops in June 2007. The work was hideous. Huge, gaping seams, one side sticking out farther than the other, countless nicks (Home Depot claims it's natural), and the countertop was not scribed to the wall. Before the installers left I wrote as many things as I could to ensure they knew of my dissatisfaction. Shortly thereafter I had many zone managers come and take pictures only to find that they were all filling in for someone else. It was like starting the process over and over. They sent the same installer back to re-do the seams and fill one of the huge gaps by the wall with caulk. I then had a zone manager tell me I could call a plumber, a backsplash guy, a caulker, a wallpaper guy to fix everything. It's December and my counters are still hideous.

I've written Frank Blake two personal letters, certified and return receipt. I've emailed customer service every month, sometimes twice a month. I've made many phone calls to let them know that along with the shoddy work on the countertops, they tore my wallpaper, nicked my ceramic sink, exposed the upper seam of my countertop and they forgot to glue down the island piece. The work is now costing more than the $6500.00 for the countertops, and Home Depot's response was to provide a backsplash on the sink area and change the color of the grout in the seams. I will never shop there again.

I am extremely unhappy with Home Depot concerning a kitchen remodel. We own a townhouse, which we currently rent out. We signed an agreement with Home Depot to install new cabinets and counter tops back on 03/30/07. We opened up a Home Depot account to pay for the cabinets and counter tops.

The actual cabinet installation started on Monday 05/14/07, since then the renters have not had a working kitchen. It is now 06/06/07 and they refused to pay their rent for June because we told them that the counter tops would be installed by the end of May and it is now June and they still don't have a working kitchen.

The cabinets cost $7885.44 and counter top (with sink $235.00) cost $3174.30. The cabinet installation was completed on 05/15/07 and the counter top installer came out on 05/16/07 to draw the template. They told us the counter tops would be installed in 10 days to 2 weeks, that would have been 5/30/07. On Thursday 05/31/07 I received a call from Home Depot saying that I needed to pay a balance due of $900.00 on the counter tops before they would install. I really didn't understand what the balance was for and why I had to pay $900.00. I told them that we had paid for the counter tops on the Home Depot account. On Friday 06/01/07 I received another call that said the we owed an extra $900.00 because when the installer re-measured there was an extra $900.00 of counter top.

At this point we started to question the measurements, why was it 30 % higher/different and if so where was the difference. We kept being told that we had not included the breakfast bar area/counter and we kept telling them that we had included it. Finally we went to the store on Tuesday 06/05/07 and we talked to the Assistant Manager Greg and he said the same thing that the extra was for the breakfast bar /Counter top area but said that he would get the original plan and the one from the installer and compare the difference and would get back to us on Wednesday morning.

When we heard from him on Wednesday 06/06/07 he said that the difference was not the breakfast area counter top but that they had not included the backspash and other areas and that was the difference. We have a written invoice No. 6640-225784 that states the price includes the backsplash. We bought the product based upon that price given us which included to backsplash.

In the meantime they called the installers to find out when they could install the counter tops and was told Friday June 15th ( our renters are going without a kitchen for nearly 5 weeks).

This kitchen counter top has now cost me an extra $900.00 plus rent for the month of June $1100.00. - that's a total of $2000.00 more than the original order/ cost of $3174.00

Al colors and with blemishes. Not as advertised on the samples at the store. We paid for the measuring of the space, and after all that,.. they still came too big. All they could say is I gues they made a mistake. I have been without a kitchen for 8 weeks now. With no end in sight, I am wondering if I will ever have a kitchen again.

The granite top has been the culprit for the most part. We have waisted about 7 working days of pay just waiting for them just to cancel or just not even showing up. Just to measure the granite took about 3 weeks. Then to deliver the granite, I do not know since nobody seems to know anything. The store manager says they can not do anything about it. All I can do is wait.... or change to another vendor and start from scratch. Of course you figure, I am already in the soup, I'll stick with it. But then that may be the only way to get it to move. If you ever order anything from The Home Depot, you know it must be paid in advance, so there is no way you can hold money for damages or other problems. I am also still waiting for other parts of the cabinets to show up. The came late and broken so the had to re-order them. The gentlemen that we dealt with is no much help, and his attitude is of buy your granite somewhere else or wait.

Between me and my wife I have used about 5 days each of pay, not to mention the expense and inconvinience of eating out or pre-prepared food. Driving arround all over south florida for parts to complete the caniets, and lots of time and time.

I ask the HD salesperson if this was the total cost. She said yes it was. The Subcontractors came out removed the old counter tops and back splash, in the process sawing each of the two old counter tops into two pieces in the process of making a template for the new granite tops. The new tops were fabricated and when I was expecting the new tops to be installed, I got a call from Home Depot telling me that I owed an additional $3735.00 which had to be paid before the new tops could be installed.

Needless to say I was both surprised and angry. I consulted with an attorney about the matter. He reviewed the contract and said that I probably had a good case, but that I could not expect to be awarded legal fees, etc. I found myself in a position where I paid Home Depot or I paid the attorney (which also meant a long delay). I attempted to reach a compromise with Home Depot, offering to pay 1/2 of the extra cost. Home Depot refused to negotiate.

The pressure from my wife was intense, so I caved in and paid the $3735.00 and am presently waiting for the tops to be installed. One can be assured that I will never enter a Home Depot store again. For information purposes, I got a bid from a local independent store and the bid was approximately $2000.00 less than the Home Depot cost. I was too trusting of Home Depot and it cost me dearly.

Paid $3735 more than I contracted for as I was put in a position where Home Depot had $6951 of my money, my kitchen was in a shambles, and the cost and time involved in a legal battle were more than I cared to endure. Home Depot's stand was that a final bid cannot be determined until after the old counter tops are removed (in my case destroyed). This is pure BS, and my feeling is that this is basically a Home Depot scam to trap the unwary.

    (1) In December 2005, ordered kitchen cabinets for rented condo, they installed, but one door was wrong. They said would be delivered within 2-3 weeks. As of 5/2/06, still do not have.

    (2) Same condo in December 2005, ordered flooring. They came and measured and I picked out the floor. In February, they came to install. The installer said he could not put the laminate flooring in because of where the living room rug was higher. They said I should pick out vinal flooring. I asked why the measurer did not tell me that in the first place. I had to pay $75.00 for Home Depot to take back the flooring.

    (3) In January 2006, they measured the exterior door for a new storm and screen door. I picked out the door and was told this model would fit. When installer came, I was told the door was the wrong size and could not be installed. At this point, I said cancel it. I finally gave up and knew I could not depend on Home Depot any more.

I purchased a kitchen from them in January, several doors were damaged and were faulty, the faulty doors were made out of square, there were 2 different styles of hinges that would not work, damaged cabinets also. Home Depot insisted on charging my wife a 15% restocking charge to return the faulty and damaged doors, they would only replace some of the doors and insisted on given her doors that were already opened, so they were damaged.

We called the complaints department 5 times, spoke to the store manager, assistant manager, kitchen sales lady, we were told nothing but lies re: getting replacement parts, we were also instructed that we should call the kitchen company ourselves as it was not Home Depot's responsibility to deal with faulty products.

We were finally sent the replacement doors and cabinets and they sent all the wrong items , even after I personally spoke to the rep from MillsPride (kitchen manufacturer) and also emailed him the sizes so he would know exactly whaty we needed. I am a time servered carpenter, fitted at least 400 kitchens in Europe over 30 years and have never seen a company behave in the manor that Home Depot have behaved.

I ordered kitchen cabinets from Home Depot in Wilbraham, MA on December 30, 2005. I had their installer measure twice for the cabinets. One area of my kitchen needed construction to fit an 84" cabinet and I was lead to believe that the installer would be doing that work. When my referred to demolition, I thought that I would be responsible to remove the existing counters and cabinets which I stated that I would take care of myself. My first cabinet order came in on January 26, 2006 and no one from the store came to inspect the cabinets as I was told they would.

My original installation date was February 23, 2006. On February 8th, I was mailed a cabinet door and found that it was the wrong color, they were all the wrong color. I contacted the Home Depot and I think the only reason that they dealt with me was because it was their fault the incorrect color was ordered and they were supposed to complete the installation. After many phone calls, my next date was scheduled for March 7th.

On March 6th the installer showed up at my home with the plumber and all of his workers. I asked why they were there and the installer said that he had told me they were beginning the install today. In fact the installer had told me that he would come there with his plumber to disconnect my gas stove and he would also inspect the second order of cabinets. While in my home, the installer sees that I did not do the "demolition and construction" that I was supposed to do and I told him that I removed the old counters and cabinets.. he then said that all he was there to do was install cabinets - no construction. But that he could do it for an additional $800.00. I told him to leave my house, called the Home Depot and fired them.

When I hired a REAL general contractor he came in about $700.00 less than Home Depot to complete everything. My new contractor had several problems - measuring of cabinets and my countertop were off, damaged parts. I have been dealing with Home Depot for the last (4) weeks to get redelivery dates all I get is the run around. I will never purchase a big ticket item from them again and I will tell everyone that I know to run away from Home Depot.

We engaged Home Depot, West Hills Kitchen Department to remodel our kitchen. The person who oversaw our remodel project quit Home Depot and the person replacing him has not been doing his job. All Home Depot personnel in the Kitchen Department told us not to utilize Home Depot for any of the ancillary work involved in Kitchen Remodel, such as an electrician, granite installer, etc. We were advised that it would be much more expensive to utilze Home Depot.

Consequently, Home Depot says that since we did not contract the entire job with them, they won't oversee the project. It was not less expensive to go outside HOme Depot, in fact in many cases it was more expensive. We paid our initial payment in July of 2005, it is March of 2006 and we are living without appliances, no sink, stove, oven etc. I have complained to corporate many times, and their staff is in India, so I can never speak to a person that could help me. I have left many messages at the local West Hills store, and no one calls me back. The company that they hire to istall the kitchen, Kitchen Concepts, call to say they will work a particular day, and then do not show up.

Now Manager (Brian) says they have done their responsibility. I have been advised to have another contractor to measure and make template and order the countertop and install. Twice our credit card has been hit with charges for incomplete job with out discussion. Twice this has taken us over our credit limit. Twice we have received penalties for going over balance. Twice this has negitively impacted our credit. We have invested numerous hours trying to "clean up" so many of the messes - on the phone with the local store management and the HD corporate office. In January 2005 I went into Home Depot to contract to have my kitchen remodeled. My initial visit to Home Depot was in November 2004. From the first I had problems - the cabinets I ordered were discontinued but i was never notified. I reordered the cabinets - upon receipt one of the cabinets was damaged in transit. It took about 4 weeks to get the new cabinet.

It took another four weeks to schedule someone to come out to take the old cabinets out and take out the old appliances. After all this time I was informed by the carpenter that the tiles had to be replaced. After about six weeks the new tiles were installed. We called Home Depot to tell we were again ready to have the cabinets installed. The guy that came to do the work did a terrible job.

I then called Home Depot to have someone else come to check out the work. Someone else did come to look at the work and I was told that they would come as soon as possible to fix what was wrong. To this date this has yet to be done.

In the meantime, I was sold a bathroom faucet for a kitchen faucet. The cabinets were improperly measured and the stove almost didn't fit in the space provided. The stove they sold us has an electric oven and a gas oven - we were not told we had to have a separate connection for the electric.

It is fourteen months now and our kitchen is still unfinished. Every time the carpenter comes there is another mess to clean up. It has taken more than six months to have my tiles ordered for the backsplash in the kitchen. I think I have been more than patient. I would say 14 months to remodel a 10 x 10 kitchen is more than sufficient time.

I don't feel as though I have been treated fairly by Home Depot. I have even complained to the home office several times without any success.

Went to the Home Depot to purchase three cabinets. Found two of the three needed and loaded them on a flatbed cart myself, since there was no one in orange around to assist. The third cabinet was only on display, so I sought out assistance.

After being sent to four different people--the other three "didn't handle that department", I finally found someone who was willing to help. She looked the SKU up and found there were nine available, but required a forklift to retrieve.

I then stood in that store over another 45 minutes listening to her first page someone from that department, then an MOD, with no response. I walked up to Customer Service and requested an MOD, and stood there another ten minutes waiting for someone to respond to that page. Finally, an MOD did appear and personally retrieved the cabinet with the forklift, and loaded it on my flatbed cart.

However, when I asked about assistance loading my car, I was informed that I simply had to ask the cashier to page someone when I checked out. When I asked if it would take as long to get that help as I waited for his assistance (an hour and 40 minutes!) he simply smiled. By then, I was in no mood for that response and when I asked to speak to his boss, he simply smiled broader.

My wife and I were happy to find a granite that we liked from the Home Depot Expo Center in Burlington, MA for our kitchen counter top. The store also offered 10% discount.

We placed the order on 1/22/06 and was told we would be contacted by a local stone yard for templating. At the same time, we rearranged our kitchen cabinet to increase our open space and cabinet work was done a few days later. The stone yard contractor finally called but failed to arrange a convenient time due to its inflexible policy. The contractor only offers either the morning or afternoon appointment (with 2-3 hours window) for just 20 minutes work.

I suggested to have the first appointment of the day or the last appointment of the day but the contractor said that it is not the way it works. I basically don't want to take a full day off due to 20 mins work because I have a long commute time. I then called the Kitchen Project Manager, Rob, at the Expo Center in Burlington, but he said the way it is. He offered nothing to resolve the situation.

I was told there are alternative stone yards Expo could use when I placed the order but he said it is not the case. I was referred to his boss, Dan Ryan, for further assistance. I called Dan on 1/30 and 1/31 (a total of 3 calls) but never got any return call. I then called Expo Customer Center at 1-800-553-3199 and the representative said someone will call you within 48 hours to resolve this issue.

On 1/12/06 I purchased a wall oven and stove at the above Home Depot #1053. I was promised delivery on 1/18. On 1/18, I received a call from MayTag. Said they are on 'back order' and would come the following week. I called the store to get a time for the delivery. A man called and said the delivery was moved to 2/1. On 1/31, May Tag called and said that they are still manufacturing the oven and they would not go out until 2/21.

I have no stove or oven, am a 'senior' and in desperate need of the stove. At this point I went to the Store and asked for a refund. I had paid by check, that was cashed the following day, so they had my money since 1/13. The amount of the check is $1522.73. The customer service rep consulted with the manager, and then spent a good 1/2 hr making various calls to Maytag and GE.

I was getting impatient, as it only took 3 minutes to pay. I needed the money back in order to find another oven and stove. The rep and Asst Mgr insisted that I had to wait for 30 days for a check to come back to me from Atlanta, GA. They had robbed me of my dignity at that point. I 'lost it', crying and begging. After one hour, a woman came out from the back room and asked me if I had an ATM card for the account that I wrote the check on. I showed it to her.

I received an e-mail back on November 1, 2005 stating that they had only received two of the three items I sent. They had received the rebate form, and the receipt, but not the Special Services Agreement Invoice. I emailed them back to find out exactly what the form looked like. They e-mailed me back on November 4, 2005 and told me that I had 3 business days for the requested form to be postmarked and sent to them. I sent in the requested Special Services Agreement Invoice form on November 5, 2005.

I received a postcard on November 25, 2005 saying that they had received the Customer Service form, the receipt, but not the rebate form, which they had originally said they did have.

I e-mailed them back on November 25, 2005 questioning this and received a generic response on November 29, 2005 saying our rebate was not approved. I'm e-mailed them back on November 29, 2005 restating my problem with their denial and the reasons why. I requested a phone number where I could talk to someone and they never e-mailed me back with the requested info.

I have gone into our local Home Depot and had them call and explain everything to the rebate office and verify that I had everything documented and that they were in error, but they would not consider re-evaluating the claim or look at the documentation I had.

I ordered kitchen cabinets from Home Depot in January 2005. The cabinet department came to my home and measured the kitchen to ensure that the order would be correct. When the order arrived, all components where there. We demolished the old kitchen and started installing the new cabinets. It turned out that the rep. has mismeasured one base cabinet and therefore I could not complete the kitchen project.

When I contacted Home Depot they said I had to bring the wrong cabinet back to them before they could re-order it and it would take 6-8 weeks for a new one to arrive. I refused to bring it back and the rep. threatened to come to my house and take it away, I told her to go ahead; but she never did.

I contacted their store manager and district manager and neither would return my calls. My wife had a contact at their corporate office and sent a letter to the president. He never replied either. Meanwhile, the corporate office was telling us that we should have been compensated for meals and the installation of a temporary sink; we received neither.

I bought a kitchen in 1994 on a 12 month promo. 6 months later had to get them to stop charging me late fees on a balance that wasn't due for another 6 months!

When the remainder of my original order was installed i asked numerous people for a detailed invoice so I could see what I was being billed for. To this day I don't have one. I have, however, been charged for a number of things I didn't ask for.

There was no dispute over the appliances and paid that portion of the bill as it was due (but not before I had to get a rep at Citi to remove late fees they'ed started charging me before the bill came due.)

In all this time I have been unable to see what they charged me for and receive a credit for their mistakes. I have talked to EVERYONE at the store, their customer "care" dept. which, by the way, i've called and have been listening to the recording asking me to stay on the line for 37 minutes as I write this and numerous people at Citibank credit.

I have been promised credits for late charges, interest fees, services not performed and a granite backsplash I never even ordered.

I now find out that they have reported me not once, but for the past 2 months, to the credit bureaus. My fico was over 700, but because of their incredible incompetance and a lack of desire to solve this my credit score has suffered.

While they admit that, once again, the charges were not due, they said Ihave to get this removed from the credit report.
