After a two month usage, and as per its performance and hassle free services I Really impressed with this product. I can say that this is the best AC available in the market right now. One more very good advantage in this Ac is that I can take self clean service advantage in ac without calling service engineer for regular service! Via pressing a single Self clean button available in remote. Which is very helpful in this pandemic Covid situation. It is definitely one of my best buys this season. Overall product is awesome.

With the lockdown we're spending almost all our time cooped up in the house with Delhi's summer being so harsh. This AC is coming in very handy right now with its effective cooling and an in-built air purifier that cleans the indoor air. I don't need to use a separate air purifier anymore. HAIER SERENITY 605O BTU A/C. LOVED the QUIET until the COMPRESSOR comes on and the noise starts. This happened from the very first day!! Very disappointed, bought online and tore opened the box so I could not return it. I specifically bought it for its QUIETNESS as said in their advertising saying they were the QUIETEST A/C on the MARKET and that turned out to be a JOKE. It’s been two years now I have purchased the DC inverter AC and last year I made a complaint to customer care. They mentioned my product is under warranty for 5 years and that was the reason I bought this product also... but the person in charge in service center in Ludhiana Punjab is the boss of Haier. He called back to customer service center and they reduced my warranty period from 5 years to one year and they kept service of my AC pending...
And now in 2020 I made the same complaint to customer service... for same problem which was not rectified earlier. Their service is too poor After 10 days of my complaint they rectified the problem today. Tthe most miscommunication department. Don’t have manners to talk with customers. The man in charge used the derogatory language. Such a worst ever experience. My recommendation to others don’t go for this product. Worst worst worst.

This horrible pos is great at gathering GALLONS of water inside the unit. I literally have to turn the unit upside down almost hourly to empty out the vast amounts of water this ** unit collects. It never drains, even after drilling additional drain holes in the back. I literally drilled several holes in the unit for water to drain and it still doesn't drain out. Change the angle, doesn't matter. 14 minutes after emptying the unit and it was filled again. If you have trouble getting water, by a Haier, you will have gallons of water instantly, but you won't be cool.

Hello, I am writing this review because here people seem not to understand what they are reviewing. Most of the issues mentioned are because of the companies installing them and not from the units. If you buy a Ferrari but you go for oil service to your “pal” and it break down you shouldn’t accuse Ferrari but your nice friend who doesn’t know what he is doing.
I have Haier split systems in 3 apartments in 3 rooms each (total 9). I have also used Haier in industrial solutions. Zero problems absolutely. If you put also normal rubber silencers on the outside units you will hear zero sound. All you need is a good installation team/company. Like all the technological stuff, air conditioners have specifications and procedures for installing. You follow them no problem, you don’t then it will leak inside or blow hot air or do sound or or or... I do think that this website should evaluate people’s reviews and remove those that should be targeting the representative of a brand etc. In no way I am connected with Haier, we are a construction company and our preference and recommendation for air conditioning is Daikin, Haier and Mitsubishi for either home or heavy industrial installations.

I was so excited to buy 2 ACs that easily fit into sideways sliding windows. I used the devices for about 6 weeks and was happy, then in July we had high humidity! Both machines shut off saying full. So I emptied the holding tanks. This was not easy because a washing machine hose is needed for the top drain, bottom spout drained into a shallow pan. Once we drained the machines we put the plugs back in the spouts. 2 hours later the same thing, and again...! Finally at bedtime we just left the drains opened and draining into a pail and tin. This worked.
When I contacted the company, they referred me to the warranty department. They basically said, "The ACs do not work in high humidity and you need to continue to manually drain them!" The representative also told me I probably did damage to the coils by leaving it drain when I had it set on cool or economy. The only time it can be left open to drain is when used as a dehumidifier. I suggested this problem needs to be addressed. Model # HPP10XCTL1 Serial #s: AM000707K and AM001174K Purchased at BJ's Warehouse.

This is regarding my complaint for Haier AC (split 1 ton). I have purchased a split AC in March 2019 (1 ton). My AC's input unit has been dropping a lot of water inside the room. I have complained 5 times both through customer care and email and all I get everyone is some lame solutions for this issue. The service personnel has cleaned the filters, checked the AC level, changed output water pipe, filled gas etc., etc. Still I am facing the same problem. AC input unit has been dropping a lot of water inside the room, causing huge loss to my household things.
This is so much disappointing that despite my several complaints no solution has been provided to me. I want Haier to replace my AC unit. It's only been 3 months that I purchased this AC. Also since the water drops in the night after my parents are unable to make a video of it and so the service managers are not accepting my complaint. They wants to prove that I am making false complaints. I have never experienced such unprofessional behaviour from any reputed company. The AC unit is used by my parents and I don't expect them to stay up all night to wait and watch for AC faults. Here are my complaint numbers **. I need the solution ASAP.

The Haier air conditioner sucks. Don't buy Haier ever. My first and my last. When I saw it was on sale in Target, no less. It was for $179.99, 8 years ago. This thing didn't give me too many problems up until last year in 2018 where it would spit out ice chips like a frigging refrigerator water and ice dispenser would and make that noise too plus it doesn't make my bedroom nice and cool because the digital temp dial won't stay at the cooling I desire, around 60s. Instead, it raises itself up to the 70s-80s in degrees and takes a long while for it to rotate around my desired temp. and it is really annoying.
None of the other air conditioners in the house ever had problems like this one because they aren't HAIER!! Inside of the vent is BLACK and disgusting. I don't know what the hell it is. And I don't trust it!!! I just really want to take it out of my window and chuck out to the frigging ground. BUT the birds love to nest in the sides of it. so I can't bother them... yet!! Well-played Haier. And you suck!! Hope you belly up!!!!

I replaced my previous knob and Mercury Haier 5000 BTU window AC unit from year 2000, with a new digital 6000 BTU year 2016 Haier AC unit. The old unit, which was designed completely differently, seemed to cool much better... It made a sputtering noise when the compressor was on and I could always hear whether the compressor was on or not.
This new unit mostly rattles and blows. It seems cheap and wimpy compared to the old AC unit. And while it has some good days when the temperature outside is very hot and the air pressure in my apartment is exactly right, I can't rely on it completely for in between or cooler weather. The new 2016 Haier AC unit also developed terrible mold on the inside within 2 years use. I had to disassemble it, clean it, and drill holes in the bottom of the pan for better drainage. I'm worried I may need to buy a completely different AC unit, which probably won't be a Haier. I may have completely wasted $200.

Portable Air Conditioner HPD10XCM - Purchased two years ago. Blows cool air excellent but only to 10 degs Fahrenheit below outside temperature. So if outside exceeds 85 F, unit becomes progressively less useful and useless at 90F because safety mechanism cuts out cooling compressor when unit at 80 F. Still, acceptable for Oregon where global warming summer heat waves not yet all too common, except for one nuisance problem: ALL THE COOL AIR blows to the right of the unit, none to the front. So, I have been placing unit 1/4 sidewise to work around problem rather than go thru hassle of returning HEAVY monster. The unit we own has been reliable, but it's like a referee--you only notice when it doesn't do its job right. I haven't had many complaints about the performance. At times, I'd prefer it to cool more quickly, but that's impatience. It does tend to be a bit louder than other units I've owned. Meh describes it best. It sits in the corner of the yard and looks like an AC unit. Didn't buy it for aesthetics, so that's not a huge concern. I am reluctant to build any enclosure to disguise it though. The unit has worked regularly for several years. The control interface has been the least reliable part of the system, but that is much more easily replaced. We have not had to incur any repair costs at all.

I bought it back when I was staying with my parents and it's crazy because 5 years later I am on my own in my own apartment and my air conditioner still works just as good as the day that I bought it. It can cool down a whole house in less than 30 minutes so therefore it's very energy efficient. I never had to worry about using my warranty since the day I bought it 5 years ago. It was the perfect size with great quality. Fits right into any size window with no problem and it's unique design helped it blend perfectly with the home decor. I have had five plus years now and not once have I had any problems. No broken buttons, no shortage or outage. Even works perfectly in bad weather conditions.

Has a knob for the air flow level, on/off switch. High/low switch. Quick and simple and is small and easy to move and get into a window. Has a fan type thing on the top and front filter for easy removal. I've had it for a few years and it still works as well as the first day I got it. The ac unit I bought worked as described (for our 1 large living room) for 1 summer. We stored it over the winter in my bedroom closet. The following year we pulled it out to find that it wasn't nearly as powerful as before. It hardly kept up & the summer wasn't even as warm as the previous one had been. So, I would say that this did not add much value & is a waste of money! It seemed gutless & made a funny noise & didn't cool the room like before. It isn't the prettiest ac. I was more concerned about the performance when I bought it. I don't like how it looks hanging out my window either. I don't like the white of it & the piece that makes it for my window looks cheap & leaves an ugly gap. I bought it thinking I would have it for a few years to come, but it only worked great for one summer season. After that it didn't work nearly as well. It was weak & powerless. I had to constantly clean the filter. I wish I didn't waste my money.

My father bought my family this AC, was a doorbuster at Walmart, cheap thing. It's a multi-room AC. When it DOES work it cools off 2 rooms quite well, cools my dining room and kitchen adequately. However, it had a control panel with buttons (not a touch screen) and those buttons don't always work the way they should, has been like this since it was around almost a year old. You have to press REALLY HARD on the buttons to get them to work. To just turn it on I have to press so hard with my thumb that my thumb hurts because of the massive pressure I have to use to get the power button to work. The other buttons are the same, sometimes pressing the temp button up causes the mode section to change, or pressing mode causes the temp to change. At times I've had to use something hard & pointy, like the end of screwdriver, to press down in the button to get them to work because my hand was sore from pressing.
As of today the buttons have become officially dead. Pressing them with all of my force and pressure does nothing. The display is on but none of the buttons are working any longer. This is such a cheap air conditioner, when it works it's great, but those buttons are the absolute worst piece of plastic I've ever used. Nothing, absolutely nothing, on the button panel makes a proper connection or a connection at all, something is wrong in there and has been since it was new. It's about maybe 6 yrs old now and we don't have any money for a new AC at all, or at least money for another multi-room AC. Thank God fall is here and the weather is getting cooler but this thing as of today is officially dead. I don't have the cash for a repairman or another AC, along with a very sore thumb.
I also have one other smaller Haier ac unit in another window & that one too has its own problems. Both AC units have also wound up spitting water, leaking water, you name it. Along with freezing and a thick layer of white frost building up on the front inside of the unit after just running for not even 20 min, have to keep shutting it off, sometimes it spits ice chunks. It's been a struggle for the past few years with this brand, if I had the cash for a better brand name I'd certainly trash them both & never purchase this brand again that's for sure. No way. You get what you pay for.

My parents have a relatively big ranch style house with hot water baseboard heat. Installing central air ended up costing to the tune of $20,000. My dad makes good money but never wanted to shell out the big bucks to have it done and didn't until my mom retired. His solution was what he called peripheral air conditioning. This just meant buying a lot of window ACs and running them. We had like 7 of them, and lost a few over the years.
In around 1998 we were due for two. Well some of you may remember Ames here in the northeast. They for whatever reason decided to carry Haier and Samsung ACs that year. My dad bought one of each and those were both really well made ACs, probably still working to this day (since he has central air now, I bought my own house and got central air we sold them all off). Haier was basically an unknown then. It was an 8000btu Performance Plus Series loaded with features. Other than not being terribly energy efficient it was solidly built. It never missed a beat and was run hard every summer. When we finally sold off all the ACs in the summer of 2010 because my dad claimed they were taking up too much room, it still worked perfectly, digital controls and all. I'm sure it still is.
Later after the first Haier my dad bought one of the 5000 BTU Manual control ones. Other than being somewhat noisy it too worked perfectly fine for several years, was sold as working and probably still does. Those ACs were run hard, pretty much full blast all day all summer. Two days ago I went to Ollie's and they had a smashed up Haier 8000btu not working for $5 so since I knew how to service them I decided to give it a go. What I learned is there is really nothing wrong with their design, they've just cheapened stuff like the case to meet the price point consumers demand. It's far flimsier than the one made in 1998. The digital controls are likely outsourced based on what I saw inside of it. Other than that it is fundamentally identical to any other window AC in terms of design. American consumers want a $189 8000 BTU AC and they build it like that. When it was $239 it was built better, thicker steel, bigger motor, etc.
As far was water buildup issues. That's a fault of the EER ratings. What the manufacturers are doing now is allowing a little water to pool inside the unit so it touches the bottom of the cooling coil. This helps heat transfer and boost the EER. That Samsung I mentioned earlier? It was easily one of the most efficient ACs at the time and explained how it worked in the manual. It had a drain plug you could remove if it became problematic due to mounting differences. Unfortunately those are added costs you're not going to get at today's rock bottom prices. You'd have to drill a hole. So in sum I really don't see anything wrong with Haier. They're just another company building what people want, cheap throwaway stuff. If people were willing to spend more up front then there would be fewer problems. I added a photo of the smashed Haier I was fixing to prove my story.

I purchased a 10,000BTU Haier portable AC unit on March 27, 2015 from Homedepot.com. On Sept. 10, 2016 the unit stopped working. I would have expected it to function longer than 19 months. I discovered the problem to be a burnt out condenser fan motor. I discovered the cause to be a flaw in the design of the unit. The condenser coils takes all its inlet air from the house through louvers in the cabinet and discharges it to the exterior through the 5" hose. I discovered that the condenser coil was completely clogged with dust and dirt. THERE IS NO FILTER FOR THE CONDENSER COIL. How would a homeowner know to inspect the coil. Plus it is nearly impossible to get in and clean it. I have purchased other units with dual hoses and the inlet hose has a filter. This is a proper design.

I recently decided to replace my still working 25 yr. old dehumidifier used in a lower level family room with a portable AC with dehumidifier. I felt it would be a nice upgrade. I settled on Haier 14,000 BTU Portable AC with Dehumidifier Model HPF14XCM-B, a two hose unit that includes dehumidifier functionality. I definitely sought a two hose unit for the efficiency. The rest of the house is centrally air conditioned. After a few days of running the unit in AC mode, the humidity rose to over 75%. I switched it to dehumidify and realized that there was no way to set the unit to a target percent humidity. I let it run overnight. Next morning there was no improvement and the unit shut down due to a full condensate tank.
OK, I connected both the upper drain and lower drain to a gravity drain line that my old dehumidifier was connected to and let it continue. It cycled randomly and never brought down the humidity level in the room. I even added an additional fan to help circulate the air. The % humidity outside was lower than the room I was trying to dry out. Haier was no help. The website information listed the dehumidifier as 110 pt./day. My old unit is only a 40 pt./day unit. Haier stated that the device is primarily an AC unit and not primarily a dehumidifier. I even called an appliance repair technician that was listed as a service center for Haier Products and was told they do not service that unit. Lucky for me I was within the window of returning it back to the retailer that I purchased it from for a full refund. Haier lost me as a customer.

With Haier, it can be very tricky... I purchased a brand new 7800 BTU window unit a few years ago and upon using it for the first year, it would hardly cool and the thermostat (or something) would always say it's cooler than what it was. If it was 75 degrees inside, the AC would say it was 61 and would kick off. With that being said, the coils were not frozen over, but it would spit water out all the time. One thing with these, you have to tilt them slightly backwards so that water runs to the back and doesn't drip out the front. Another thing with some of these units is that they do not have drainage plugs that you can remove... I very carefully took the outer Casing off the AC and drilled some holes in the bottom so that it will drain properly. Since I did that, it worked much better... Sometimes it still acts up and says it's cooler than what it really is, but I just turn it on fan for a bit and switch it back to AC.
Now, in regards to the portable AC. Many people have problems with these. You have to sometimes take the back cover off of the AC which is being held together with screws and clean off the evaporator coils, etc since they can become clogged with hair (especially animals) and dirt (dust). Also, you have to make sure you drain the water from the bottom of the unit, otherwise it won't work right or at all. This AC Unit was given to me and worked okay. When the AC was running, it was very cool.
However, almost all the time it said that the temperature inside was much cooler than it really was. It could easily be 80-85 degrees and the AC would kick on for a few minutes before dropping down to 61 and then kick off. But in reality... It was still 84-85 inside the room. I finally figured out it is the temperature sensor/wire that is the culprit... It's given false readings. You can easily clean it gently with water and a rag, but you have to be careful. But with mine, even after cleaning it still acts up. So I weaved the wire out thru the back of the ac unit so it could contact warmer air to give a more accurate reading.

The first unit was decent. Did what it was supposed to do. When it failed at the 2 year mark, I thought "Ok, a fluke". I bought another in May 2015 from H.H. Gregg. I'm not sure which was the bigger mistake, the retailer or the manufacturer. Today, now 1 year, 6 weeks, after purchase, it blew out the compressor... seized hard. I heard it fail. I've heard enough over the years and it is the exact same failure as the first unit. There is no denying the sound of it either. BAM BAM BAM. And then the circuit breaker kicked. I bought the "5 year protection". This means they must order the compressor (HA HA HA) and wait for it to arrive. I'll bet everyone money it'll be weeks before I get it back... just about when winter starts. After calling the 800 number, getting disconnected 4 times, waiting on hold for 1.25 hours, I finally got a decent person. She did, very politely, direct me to the local repair folks.
What I would rather have at this point is my refund (58.5 months of remaining service contract + 84% of the unit purchase price which is based on an estimated life of 6 years (1 year factory warranty + 5 year protection plan coverage). "Made in China" rip off if I ever saw one. NEVER again. I'm going and spending the $500+ on a Pinguino and being done with it. The last one lasted 8 years and the only failure was the water drain pump had clogged.

Bought the Haier AC about 3-5 years ago and already noticed a problem with it since day one. The unit collects A LOT of water at the bottom with no way for it to seep out unless it's filled up a couple of inches from the inside tray. I figured something would surely short circuit inside, rust, or worst - grow, if I don't muscle up and pound out some holes at the bottom for the water to leak out. Anyway, it worked out pretty well with some freakin kinks I learned from co-existing with it.
Never use high fan and stick with low. Always let the fan run for a few minutes before putting it on cool. When turning it off set it back on fan mode so the next time you have it on it won't automatically be trained on cool setting. The unit will never cool past 70, nor should you try or the a/c unit will have a shorter life span. That's pretty much how I kept it operating for so long. But as of writing this review, the unit is starting to choke out - it won't cool past 80 before it goes back to fan mode no matter what temp I set it. I'm somewhat pissed considering I always take care of my machinery and if the OLD ass a/c's (the ones that were huge, leaked like hell, wooden covers with knobs in place of buttons). I would purchase those in a heartbeat. Those were built to last, if you treat them nice.

I would add that the Haier representatives were rude and very abrupt.
In additional to the initial problem, the unit is extremely noisy. It cannot be used in the bedroom as the noise prohibits sleeping and it cannot be used in a TV room as you are unable to hear TV. My nephew is in college and is majoring in electronics and he took it apart to fix it and he told me that the simplest components (like the control buttons) are expected to get pushed thousands of times and should easily withstand years of use. In closing this product should be removed from every store and if I could have given it negative stars I would have and I feel sorry for anyone else who gets ripped off by Haier and finds out it's not made in America and is not held to any real quality control but just a money hungry foreign company not held accountable for their products. We bought a Haier 10,000BTU window a/c model # ESA410M-L from Ollie's last year because it was $80 cheaper than comparable ones sold at Lowe's and Home Depot and I thought I was really achieving something by saving $80. We have a smaller Haier window a/c that we purchased elsewhere several years ago and have never had a problem with it. Ollie's is a discount store so I don't know if Haier sold them their defective units or what. This probably would not happen to most people, as old fashioned wooden window frames like we have are not common and I don't think the damage would be as extensive on a metal framed window.
When we took the A/C out last fall we noticed some water damage on the window sill. That window was unprotected from weather so we just assumed that we might have installed it incorrectly or perhaps the rain blew in so hard. At times it couldn't be helped. This year we installed the same A/C in a different window that is covered by a porch and took extra care to make sure that it was installed properly. Until recently it hasn't been very hot so the majority of the summer it only ran maybe 6 hours a day.
A few weeks ago (when we started using it more) I did notice a little water on the floor near this A/C but the dog's water bowl is very close to it so I assumed she was splashing her water and just wiped it up as needed. Today we discovered our laminate hardwood floors lifting up and peeling and traced it to the air conditioner. We moved a table away from that wall and found a huge puddle of water sitting on the floor that had apparently been seeping under the flooring. The wall under that window is very soft and wet which indicates that it has seeped through the window sill and down the inside of the wall. There is also 110 volt wiring running under that window but I guess it's insulated well enough to take a soaking and not catch the house on fire.
When we took it out of the window today water literally poured out, it did not drip a little like it should, it poured. The strange thing is we kept a bucket underneath it outside to catch drips since it's hanging over a porch and it always filled with what seemed to be a normal amount. Now because of this we have to tear out that part of the wall, hang new drywall, and match a very complex textured paint job. The window sill and possibly the bottom of the window frame are damaged but I don't yet know how badly. The color of laminate floors I have has been discontinued so I can't just replace that one area and it will cost well over $500 for new flooring for the whole room. All because I wanted to save $80. Moral of the story: you get what you pay for and never neglect or make excuses for something that might be water damage.

I purchased an air/heating wall unit for my home in July of 2014. The air seemed to work fine for the short amount of time we used it. We used the heater and in Nov. 2014 it worked fine then all of a sudden it started blowing out cold air. I have yet to call the company. The unit is so loud and never reaches the temp. it is set for. I would never buy from this company again.

I have a Haier Room air conditioner 8,000 Btu Model ESA408M-L that I purchased last year. Ran great all summer last year until the end of summer it started seizing up but still ran and I left it in the window for Winter and weatherized it by covering it with a tarp and covering it inside with plastic on the entire window. I purchased it in May last year when I went to use it this June (which is over the year of the 1 year warranty) finding out that it doesn't work properly. The fan works but the coolant area (which is the condenser, the most important part on the A/C) doesn't work. I was told it's rare for an year old A/C to be broken. I also purchased a Frigidaire 12,000 Btu for another area in my home two months later and cared for it in the same exact way, it works fine. So is there any suggestions you can give me please as what I can possibly do. I need a working A/C in my bedroom before it gets too hot. I tried researching online for a contact info for the company with no luck as of yet bringing me to consumer affairs. Now I will need to throw it out and spend money I DO NOT HAVE to replace the unit.
I will never ever buy a Haier product again especially after all the reviews I just read about every single product Haier has sold and ripped people off from their broken products that can not be fixed, returned or refunded because the company is scamming consumers from all over the country from their hard earned money. I will go and purchase a frigidaire 8,000 Btu since I am happy with the one I already have. I have just one question: What is wrong with this country? Scamming others to get ahead and have no conscience about doing it either. I fibbed I have one more question: Why is this company still in business & why are other companies selling their products knowing fully well what they are all about tarnishing their own good name. If a store sells a Haier product in their store, I will not purchase anything from their store. In other words that means if you sell Haier's products you are endorsing them, meaning I cannot trust your store again.

I purchased a portable air conditioner for my asthmatic child's bedroom on 6/1/13. On 8/1/13 the air conditioner stopped working. I contacted Haier, who sent out repairman who stated that a part had to be ordered and it was on backorder. I contacted Haier, hoping get another air conditioner in exchange for the broken one. They refused to exchange the air conditioner. It is now 4/2014 and I am still waiting for my air conditioner to be fixed.

It doesn't turn on; it just turns all the lights on and goes back off. I paid $150 for the air conditioner and it only worked for two weeks.

We bought an 8,000 BTU Haier Air Conditioner that is advertised as making little noise. We had it professionally installed for $200. It is the loudest AC and I can't believe that they advertise it as being low noise. I called customer service and they told me that we could exchange it. However, since the unit is installed in a window/sealed, etc., it would be a loss of $200 to take it out. I asked if a service technician would come out, and the customer service person said, "at your own risk" and "at your own cost." That seemed very rude and I was quite disappointed that they care so little about their customers.
At some point, we will need to buy a new AC and get that installed. It means a minimum $400 loss to us. That may not seem much to a big company like Haier, but it is a lot to us.

I purchased a Haier Air Conditioner in July 2009. I had a problem with the first one and had to return it because it was defective. The replacement by Wal-Mart which was the second air conditioner I used for less than 2 months in summer of 2009. We had the hottest summer on record, it broke again and contacted Wal-Mart because I purchased the extended warranty. I was mislead by Wal-Mart to believe that these extended warranties pushed by their store was as easy as it sound.
I had no AC for my business and of course this affect my small business. Most of my flowers in the store was damaged because of the severe heat. I was pushed off by Wal-Mart to call another company that does repairs for Haier and a rep visited but I am yet to get a response on the status. This is a case of misrepresentation by Wal-Mart. I researched and found out that Haier is known to be defective and poor quality and customer service.
In a recession, I loss business because during the really hot days. I had to close the store and some of my merchandise were damaged.

We have been using Haier products for many years. We never had such a bad experience as we are facing this time. My father purchased 4 ACs from Haier Company's authorized dealer (Citizen Electronics on Chungi number 8, near Jahaz ground Sadiqabad Rawalpindi) on 02-05-10. 3 are working just fine, but the 4th unit did not work properly.
First, there was a motor problem. It was producing sound. 3 times did the people come from Kainat Cool Services at shop no. 5-B Madina Plaza Chungi No. 8, near Jahaz Ground Sadiqabad Rawalpindi. They tried to fix it but they failed and highlighted other fake reasons that the gas has leaked out. They said that the pipes were not fixed up properly etc. They also suggested us to live with that. They said it’s a minor issue and only at the time of startup it gives sound. I said, “Hello, I have paid you for a new AC, not for a secondhand AC.” Then, the person from Haier Company came in and said, “I don't find any problem but the sound is there.” Then again, the people from Kainat (who did fitting) came in and said that the person from Haier who came drained the gas because of personal clashes with them.
The story continues and another person from Haier Company named Asad came. He identified the motor to be replaced. He then replaced the motor in his next visit (5th visit), but then the AC failed to produce cooling. Again, we complained and people came and tried to fix the problem again. Every person who came went with a statement “Now everything is fine.” And we had to call again the very next morning that the problem is unsolved. Finally, the people came from Haier and took the AC and its outer unit to the Haier Company. And now they are back with the same AC with a statement that they had fix it (model: HSU-18LEA03E6, serial: AA7ZD-LZ090-0ACA1-P1333).
We have paid 33000 Rs. for a brand new AC which has been repaired for more than 7 times. What is this? These people don't know how to deal with customers. They don't have manners on how to talk. Their language and their behavior are pathetic. I know places where I can get secondhand ACs for about 10000 Rs. which cost us 33000 Rs. from Haier. The way people talked to us was like they had given us AC for free or done some Ehsaan on us.
It’s been one and a half months now since this repairing process has started. This is how you people value your customers. You people only focus on selling your product, not on the relationship. There is a rule that a dissatisfied customer produces 10 dissatisfied customers. But inshallah, I will produce maximum in my whole life if I have to live with that 8 times repaired AC. In a warranty when the problems are such, you should have replaced that AC. But you people don't care about customers.
All these issues were highlighted by my father to the Haier Company’s concerned manager. But he did not respond well and returned that AC three days back to us after repairing, which has to be fitted yet. After the sales services manager, Mr. Z. was the person with whom my father was in contact for the issue and he knows the whole story. And he committed with my father that he himself will make a visit to see the AC, but he never came and sent some of his subordinates. I need new replacement (this site does not provide state for Pakistan, so I had to choose Alabama which was mandatory field to fill).

On June 16, 2008, I ordered a Haier 12,000 BTU air conditioner/ 9,500 BTU heater from Walmart.com using their site-to-store shipping option. The total amount for this purchase was $462 including shipping. The item arrived at my local Walmart on June 26 and I picked it up. Item worked with no problems until late August 2008 when it began smelling like hot plastic and blowing hot air and then shutting down. Since it was past the 30-day return window for Walmart, I called Haier customer service. They sent out a person to check the unit in early September 2008. They plugged in the unit and declared it working until I insisted they let the unit run for an extended period of time - or at least longer than 30 seconds. They let the unit run for 10 minutes at which time it began overheating, smelling like burnt plastic and blowing hot air.
A few minutes after that, the unit shut off and would not work. The repair person then took apart the unit and ran some test. The repair person informed Haier of the results of his tests and proceeded to order replacement parts. The unit was left in my kitchen, half taken apart. About a month later, I received a couple of boxes and then a call from Haier to schedule a repair date. The repairman came, proceeded to take apart the unit and replace parts. A couple of hours later, the repair person put the unit back together, scratching the top quite a bit while putting the air director back in place. The unit was still smelling hot and not working. He said he did not know what else to do and would put in that he tried to fix it and I should get a new unit. This was late September 2008.
In November 2008, I received a very heavy box and a call from Haier that they would be sending a repair person to install a new compressor. About a week prior to Thanksgiving, a man came to my house, took the box and the unit outside, took the unit apart and about 30 minutes later declared that the compressor was not useable and he would have to order another one. He put the unit back together again, scratching it AGAIN, put it in my laundry room and left.
In January 2009 I became tired of waiting to hear from Hair and made a phone call. I spoke with Mr. Duane ** after becoming extremely frustrated and asking for a supervisor. He stated he would put in a request for a new unit and the situation would be rectified very soon. I took him at his word. The last time I heard from him was January 27, 2009 via email when he said he would call me; he did not call. I received yet another heavy box from Haier in the mail but no phone call. On March 27, 2009, I again emailed Mr. ** requesting an update. I was promised a phone call on March 30 and have yet to hear from him.
