Our sunroom was installed in 2002 and had many leaks from the start. We had them come out numerous times and all they did was caulk the panels. After the warranty ran out, they refused to come back and fix the problem. Since the problem was from the beginning of the installation, the warranty shouldn't matter. It was never fixed from the start. We sued in 2006 and they agreed to fix the problem that the architect said was the problem. Turns out that the architect was wrong. The room still leaks steady and we have no resolve since we won our original lawsuit with full dismissal. Called Four Seasons and someone came out and looked at the room and said that all the panels had to be removed and re-caulked at a cost of $7000.00. Why didn't they do this from the start and why did we have to sue to get any action? I think they knew from the start that they should have removed the panels and re-caulked but wouldn't because of cost. I think they acted in bad faith from the start.

We have a water leak in one of the ceiling panels and also water is coming in where the house and the sunroom connects. I had three roofers to look at the job and they state that Sunroom did not come down far enough with the shingles nor did the put a drip plate in. We als got a large amount of condensation and when we called them they said that is normal. As we looked behind the siding we noticed that there was no insulation and they charged us for insulation.
Water damage to the carpet and we had to take it out. Twice I had to replace sheet rock and insulation. We also have water damage on the studs and floor.

I have sent certified mail to Stephen and the Consumer Affairs office in Holbrook, NY. To date nothing has been done. Now the leaking is happening all over the room. For this to be a warranty for life product Four Seasons does not keep up the same spirit they have when they are selling this product. If I had to do this over again it certainly would not be with Four Seasons. This was an investment to add this addition on my home so that it can leak constantly.

Sunroom was poorly constructed. Numerous leaks have appeared, and water is seeping into kneewall and below floor and ceramic tile. Foundation and glass structure is uneven. Contractor has attempted to fix numerous times via caulking, but other contractor and engineer say it is poorly constructed from the bottom up. More information posted at: http://fourseasonssunrooms.ws/ Even though manufacturing company and contractor claim independence, the contractor is the required vendor for the region, and parent manufacturing company allows promotion as their installer for the region: http://www.scaparo.com/
Leaking, water damage, mold, sliding door not closing properly due to warping of aluminum framing.

Sunroom was installed, but never finished. We pointed out leaks to the workers, and never heard from them again, until 2 months later when we got the bill for the last 10% installment. I called the company and advised them that I would pay when the job was completed. They installed the wrong door, the room leaks in at least 3 places ( I have pictures and witnesses), the electrician wired up the lights incorrectly, the outside light doesn't even work, and damaged the wall putting his conduit through, which was never repaired. Drywall installation was shoddy, 1/2 gaps between the drywall and the trim, flashing was never completely installed, missing a window screen, which I did not allow them to install as it had a hole in it, missing parts of the window handles which was pointed out to the job manager. 1/8 luan was tacked underneath the sunroom, and is falling off, and the heating unit does not operate properly.

Four Seasons continually promised to us that this buildout would take ten days or less and they were a big company who has a great reputation and they guarantee their sunrooms for life. So far our biuldout has taken over a month! The project is now deserted while we keep hearing that next week they will finish. This has gone on now for four weeks.
I called Maude in consumer affairs in New York and she was very flippant and also told me next week. That was two weeks ago. In the meantime we cannot proceed with any of this and every time it rains I get so stressed out trying to drain the blue tarp make-shift roof that we have.
We live in Austin and the builder was upset that he kept having to go to Austin to fix the blue tarp after all of our rains that he told me the subfloor was our responsibility to keep dry. How do I do that with no roof and no returned phone calls? The builders also left cigarette butts and loose boards with exposed nails face up all over our lawn and we have small children.
They trampled on our flowers and plants even with me constantly reminding them to be careful. I had even put chairs around the plants to protect them and they moved them away. They also dug very deeply too close to a very large red oak tree that we have and before I knew it they sawed off the root. When I went outside and got very upset with the men, they laughed at me and said that wouldn't hurt the tree. I said they should have consulted with me before they did that. I am hoping this big oak tree survives. It is big and beautiful and provides tons of shade in the summer and is probably worth thousands of dollars.
I wouldn't go with Four Seasons Sunrooms. Get a reputable local builder who will be around tomorrow. Four Seasons is around but doesn't return phone calls. They are not worth their added costs!
Possibly the large red oak tree in our yard was killed when the builders dug too close to it and sawed off the roots. We will see if this tree survives. There are also plants and shrubs that were trampled on and killed by the builders.

I signed a contract on Feb 7, 2006. Weeks later when the design arrived in the mail, it was not even my house, I called and informed them and months and many phone calls later they came out to take another look, weeks later gave a new drawing, which was problematic architecturally. They made another attempt to correct the issue but by this time I was not convinced it would work and did not want to spend more money with this company.
I asked to have the project cancelled and was promised paperwork. Again after many phone calls including filing a complaint on their corporate web site, I received a blank form in the mail, afetr several phone calls,
I finally received the form, which say my refund would come in 2 back-to back payments. More than one year later I have no refund and will need to take lega; action to get my funds back.
I will never agin work with any unit associated with this company and I am going to use every mans I can to get the word out about this company. I am in public relations and in addition to filing a suit, I plan to contact the local television station as well.
Something needs to be done about companies like this. They bring down the image of all contractors and that is unfair to the many good contractors I have owrked with over the years.

The Four Seasons sales team gave me the name of the only installer in my geography that was a licensed Four Seasons Sunroom installer. I signed a contract for a sunroom addition to my home to be on a second story.
The whole situation was a nightmare over five years time and ended up with me selling my home to escape any additional nightmares.
In a nutshell, the salesman told me the room came in two colors. Neither one was a good match for the home but I wanted a sunroom since I was young so I went with the brown color.
Several weeks later, before receiving the sunroom on site, I was looking at a catalogue and found it came in a third color which was what I wanted. I called the installer to tell them of the error. They gave me a very hard time but after many phone calls and discussions they agreed to change the color of the materials in my order. That became the least of my problems.
When construction started, I had to deal with several subcontractors hired by the installer. They were 'crooks' according to the installer's lead man and in fact, my sunroom leaked from where it attached to the home and ruined the new carpet in the sunroom. It took three roofing jobs to get the roof to stop leaking into the sunroom floor.
There were problems with electrical outlets and other issues which were very difficult to resolve.
The installer installed drywall where the room attached to the home that was crooked and full of air holes. I contacted Four Seasons and asked them to help me as they told me to work with this installer. Four Seasons, to their credit, did provide me with a small check to pay to have the work redone just so I could make my final payment to the installer and close out the contract.
The room was finished (18 months after the contract was signed).
Thirteen months later, I noticed a mushroom growing between the floor and the sunroom wall. I was concerned and called the installer. He told me that it was not his problem since the 12 months of guarantee was up.
I hoped it was an isolated event. After one year, however, the suspended Sunroom floor began to feel soft under my feet near the outside wall. After paying two different window repairmen, they said the sunroom windows were leaking and the leaking was occurring on the subfloor under the now laminated finished floor I had installed (when I had to get rid of the carpet due to the roof leaks).
I called the installer but they were out of business by now. I called the Four Seasons Company and told them that since they told me to use the installer that gave me nothing but problems, I was turning to them to find out what was wrong with the leaking windows.
After many months of haggle, they agreed to send an expert to my home to examine the windows. He did a walk around and said the problem was the window installation, not the windows. After more months of haggling, Four Seasons sent the expert back to my home to reinstall the windows.
At this time, the damaged laminated floor was removed to expose the subfloor.
The entire sunroom was taken apart and put back together (a cost I was told would have been $20,000 if I had to pay for it). Two weeks later, the windows leaked again on the subfloor. Four Seasons told me again, it was an installation issue (even though their expert installed the windows this second time).
I called everyone I could find at Four Seasons in desperation and finally talked to an engineer. He told a window installer at my home how to caulk the windows to prevent them from leaking.
Knowing that the only thing that is keeping the windows from leaking again is caulking and that most of the caulking is below the window unaccessible to the homeowner without taking the sunroom apart, I decided the only thing I could do to assure I would not have to pay $20,000 to repair them when the caulking fatigue sets in, was to sell the home. That's what I did. I sold my home after I spent 7 years remodelling it to be my final retirement home.
My lesson is that Four Seasons guarantees their windows. However, a leak is, from their point of view, always an installation issue.
The windows are of such a poor design that not even their installation expert could install them so they didn't leak.
They are only water tight because of gobs of caulking.
Needless to say, I tell everyone I meet to never, never, ever buy a Four Seasons Sunroom. It's my opinion that the windows are totally unfit for home use. The problem is made intolerable because the homeowner can't get to the areas to caulk without taking the room apart which costs thousands of dollars.

four seasons sunrooms by warren in niagara on the lake, ontario canada was very good at selling this sunroom and expecting the money. when they put up the sunroom it leaked around the bottom and finally after many attempts at caulking they had to take the whole thing down and put it back up. it solved the problem and i was very happy. finally they came and put the siding on it and ever since then the condensation inside is so bad that it drips and puddles all over the floor. bill never returns my phone calls and the solutions that he came up with did not solve the problem. it is a very expensive sunroom and this should not happen. this is part of my living room and its the same temperature.
this is a vinyl sunroom and there is no damage yet but if it keeps up it wiil ruin the laminite flooring inside.

Back in 2003 we purchased a Four Seasons Sunroom, we spent about $35,000 on it so it wasn't a small purchase. It was completed in November and performed flawlessly until it snowed. When it snowed, it leaked like a sieve - we had ice forming on the inside of the structure and huge ice buildup on the outside. Thank goodness we hadn't yet had the pine flooring put down. In spring they fixed it, (or so we thought) they found that the gutter was misinstalled and was caused an ice dam to form. So we installed the floor. Winter 2004/05 it snowed again (pretty predictable in our part of the world, it does it every year in winter) and unhappily the sunroom leaked again.
There was so much water running through the strucure that the drain holes on the outside were continually running. The problem is that if water is continuously running and it's cold out (which happens a lot in winter) then it freezes. When it freezes it blocks the drain and then the whole structure fills up with water! Of course that water has nowhere to go except out of every crack it can find. We had the whole gutter down spout was encased in ice up to 4in thick. It took me a week to melt it using electric deicing cables. By the way, I now run deicing cables all winter - there was no mention of that requirement when they took my $35,000. Inside the sunroom we would have a wedge of ice from floor to ceiling that as it melts provides a steady stream of water which can flow over the floor and also underneath the new pine floor resulting in great black mould stains on our new floor from the water coming up from underneath.
Of course Four Seasons were kept well aware of the situation and they agreed to come back out in spring once everything had thawed. This time they determined that the sunroom was misbuilt due to poor instructions and a key seal had not had sealant applied. On a number of occasions they admitted that they had some issues with this designs performance in snow. So now, we think we are leak free, although it's a bit hard to tell as last winter was very mild with little snowfall. But how could that be the end of it, I still have my wrecked floor. Reasonable to think that Four Seasons (or should we refer to them as Three Seasons) would repair the damage? I thought so. They didn't and after having given me the run around for months (and they never reply to letters, ever - I think it must be company policy) the best they came up with was for me to claim on my homeowners insurance (one wonders what the Insurance industry thinks of this), and they refused to even pay my deductible!
Now, the actual cost of the new floor probably isn't that much, $1000 at the absolute maximum and probably closer to $500, way less than the profit that they made from me. To be honest, I could (and probably will) fix the floor myself, that's not the issue here. The issue is that I spent a boatload on money on something that did not meet it's basic required quality and the company does not stand behind it's own failings in delivering me the product.

I am a single woman who has always dreamed of having a Sun Room on my lake front home. I contact Four Seasons since they appeared to have a good reputation. Roger a salesperson assured me I could have a hardwood floor in the sun room as there would be no condensation. In fall of 2002 I had a Four Season Sun room installed on my home. During instalation the panels were installed wrong leading to an argument with the contractor, Jay. This issue could not be resoved before winter prevented construction. During the cold weather condensation started. The bottom four feet of the panels were covered with condesation that froze. The sliding doors were frozen shut and I could not open them. The floor had water standing up to 1 deep and out a foot from the walls.
My initial contact with Kim K was unproductive and they would not do anything to my Sun Room until it was paid in full, she said I had broken the contract and was not acting in good faith. I had already paid $17,000 and I held back $5,000 due upon final completion.Four seasons finally sent representatives to the house and they said it was my problem. I needed to add more heat ducts. The room has three heat registers and a cold air return. The room is 15 by 13 or 195 square feet. The cold air return was added on the advice from heating contractors, who indicated that there was enough heat and the cold air return would only make my furnace more efficient.
I added fans to circulate the air in the room with little effect. I added a thermostat that allowed the furnace fan to run constantly, as recommended by Bob B. The condensation remained , the electric bill went up. At this point the walls are covered in black mold. I have had no response from Four Seasons since August 2004.
I have spent $17,000 on a room I cannot use. The floor is starting to deteriorate. I am concerned about the black mold being a health hazard. My $500 worth of oak flooring cannot be installed and is in danger of being comprmised by warpage as it is stored in the garage. Furniture has been ruined by condesation drippage. During the winter when the doors freeze shut I have no emergency exit.

My wife and I contracted with Four Seasons on April 4, 2005, giving them a substantial downpayment. Today is November 2, 2005 and only because of several insistent phone calls from me has any work even begun. Phone calls go unanswered. They simply DO NOT return phone calls. The receptionist who picks up the phone says there is no one in who can help me at this time, but my phone call will be returned as soon as possible. Only after I threated to call the Better Business Bureau does anyone indeed get back to me. This has been the case over and over. It's simply unbelievable.
In early October, when no work had even begun, I called the company to complain. With my threats of Better Business Bureau, Four Seasons sent a work crew out the next day to do the initial demolition of my existing porch. My wife and I thought, Wonderful! No way. They didn't return. They left a huge pile of dirt and aluminu m siting on my lawn, which will now have to be reseeded. When I called to complain they said the Township was holding up the issuance of the work permit. Four Seasons said they had called the Township several times and were put off. I called the Township at 10:50 AM. AN inspector was on my property at 11:00 AM (the administration building is one mile from my home). No problem. He said the permit can be issued immediately.
Why was I able to get it done in 10 minutes when Four Seasons had had 6 months and couldn't get it done? A work crew has been to my home one time since the initial demotilion. Again, that was because of my calling over and over. Today, November 2, I have no idea when I will see work really started. I left 4 messages last week. NO ONE has returned my calls. NO ONE. This has been a nightmare experience.

From day one they installed the Unit we had a small leak. Last July we had a major leak and we called for service. They sent a technician to look at the problem and scheduled for repair service. The secretary called and canceled the appointment and never rescheduled. Numerous attempts made by us to have service including calling the head office. The secretary cursed us because we complained to the head office. She said that now she will not talk to us. The owner Al got involved and said he will take care of the issue. As of today we never heard from them.

The first complaint was the door leaked with rain, snow etc. They did finally get new door replacements from Four Seasons. The door handles on the doors kept falling off. They never did fix them, finally had to call a locksmith so they didn't fall off, now the lock binds up and is very hard to lock. In the meantime, it leaked. Brian from Professional Glass and Mirror came out and looked at it and said must be my house roof, they always were. I had an independent contractor come out and look and he put in more flashing up under my shingles and said the roof was fine. Still leaked. He came out and caulked the roof of the sunroom again after talking to Four Seasons 1-800 number. They informed him, they did not fix any problems, that the installer did. The installer has basically gone out of business, as he told me to get someone else to fix it. So basically I am paying to have someone put a roof over the top of the roof of the sunroom to keep it from leaking. This is very poor and shoddy instalation and service, I would never recommend one to anyone!

We purchased our home in March 2000. I was a previously owned home and the owners had put in a Four Seasons Sunroom. We originally looked at the house in January and upon first impressions the room looked okay. In the Spring of 2000 we noticed that one of the windows seemed to have condensation on it, it was actually in the window pane, it looked like the seal broke.
We called Four Seasons and they said they could replace the window for $350.00 but could not guarantee that the other windows wouldn't do the same. Sure enough the seal on the window that they replaced went the next year but so did several other windows. We decided that we would go to see them personally, the person we talked to I think her name was Melissa was very rude and after several months of pursuing them we got nowhere and finally gave up. Today as I look at the sunroom I decided to file this complaint. Since we last talked with the Four Season's People they have gone out of business and moved out of the area. How they ever talked the previous owners into this room I don't know.
All the windows in the room have lost their seal and it is like looking out at a fog. The windows have leaked onto the the blinds that are attached to the windows and have made uogy borwn stains. We can't even enjoy the view any more. It would cost and enormous amount of money to replace the windows.

I bought my townhome approximately eight months ago. Since that time I continue to have water leakage in the sunroom. Although the perpetrator was here twice in seven months and could not locate the source of the leak, my numerous calls to him usually go unheeded, or scheduled visits are not carried out. I do not receive a courtesy call at these times, therefore waiting all day in vain.
The few times that I have spoken with Mr. Greene he tells me it rains so often that there are not enough dry days in between for him to do any caulking. This is not the case as there have been many times between rainy periods that he could have worked. On that note, because of the frequency of rain, the damage in the room continues, and I am not able to use it. I truly believe that I have been more than patient, however I now feel very frustrated and pessimistic, wondering if Mr. Greene is simply waiting for the guarantee on his room to end at the end of this year.
The sunroom continues to receive extensive water damage to walls and wood structure. Furniture is ruined through dampness, and I am afraid the almost continual water on the floor tile will result in damage there as well. The painted walls of the structure show black, moldy stains in some areas with peeling of the walls. I am concerned with health risks because of the mold and dampness.
