I found Four Seasons Sunrooms as a respected and more reliable company. The sales reps helped me and cooperated in all angles. Whenever I needed information, they provided it to me. It was a nice and smooth transaction. I recommended Four Seasons to two or three guys and they also got work done on the same street.

I like the price of Four Seasons Sunrooms. They worked on our sliding backdoor and the whole house. It’s doing what I needed, giving me more security and sound reduction. The installers did fast work and with no mess, which is the best part. However, one of the windows upstairs on the second floor is showing some type of leak. And they told me if the window gets fogged, that means that something’s not installed correctly, and they have to come back and check what has caused the fog on the window. I called for a repair but they never got back to me yet.

We purchased an atrium type of glass from Four Seasons Sunrooms. I installed it at the back of my house, which is an extension of my kitchen. Two years ago, I had to replace glass on the unit because the seals failed and the Four Seasons team was very helpful and did a neat job. I was happy with it and now apparently they offer a better warranty on the glass and I'm seeing what's happening right now. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences. Four Seasons has done a nice, smooth and professional work.

I went looking on the internet because I needed a new roof on the indoor pool. Four Seasons Sunrooms had the closest match to what I was looking for and some of the image samples on the website interested me. I pursued an estimate to see what it would cost and what the solution would be. The guy who came was great and very knowledgeable so we felt comfortable that we have the right solution. He had some good examples so we could see what the performance was, and the sun’s effect and heat transfer on the glass. Once that was all done and we understood and were comfortable with what it was going to cost, then a person came and did a complete evaluation for the measurement.

When the installers did the demolition of the old roof, we uncovered some remedial work was required. So we had to take a temporary halt on the job and the guys were fine with it. They did the remedial work to take the roof then they came back and completed the work. I’d have no hesitation to recommend Four Seasons Sunrooms.

Four Seasons Sunrooms seemed like a better product so I had them built a sunroom. It's square with windows all around and it's got a roof. Their sales reps were reliable and responsive. If there were issues, they addressed them immediately. Their contractor was very dependable. As a matter of fact, he gave me his direct number. So whenever I needed something, he was very responsive. I wanted to renovate my sun porch so I went online and looked for some companies and Four Seasons responded very quickly and were right on it. I've even gone through HomeAdvisor where there were several companies involved and one company called me a month and a half later after the job was done. The Four Seasons sales rep was good and the two gentlemen contractors worked diligently. It was a very, very pleasant experience, which is unusual when dealing with contractors. They showed up on time, finished when they said they were gonna finish, and did a good job. They redid my small, 50-year-old sunroom and I was very satisfied.

We got a Four Seasons flyer at our door and it said that the glass had been approved by The Architecture Society. We did another quote and compared the overall presentation given to us by the two different salesmen. The sales rep from Four Seasons came out and thoroughly explained everything to us, drew us diagrams and answered all our questions. We didn't make an immediate decision so every time we had different questions, we'd call back as we think of them and they were very patient. When we had all the information we required and felt ready to proceed, then we went ahead with it. They did our sunroom addition and the quality of work is good.

There were some minor problems with some of the finish work of the trim and when we called and reported it, it was taken care of immediately. Also, the eavesdropping wasn't put in properly at one side so there was a bit of water damage and they came in and dealt with it right away too. It's nice that whenever we called with something, we were listened and attended to right away. I only wish they had dealt with the fireplace, too, because we had to deal with it on our own and it was a bit difficult for us to coordinate everything. We had to do the choosing and we don't have the knowledge. They guided us through, but it would have been nicer if we could have just delegated it to them.

Three years ago, we contacted Four Seasons and a different builder. The works of Four Seasons appeared to be better than what the other company did so we went with Four Seasons. They enclosed our porch and the contractors did a great job because it looks like a room addition. It was summer then and the contractor did a heck of a job. The porch was already covered so he enclosed it on three sides with their windows and knocked out part of the wall. There's no doorway so it looked like it was connected to the house. He made sure that the promises were not exaggerated. Compared to other things we had done by contractors, Four Seasons did was definitely much better than the rest of them. It was a great experience and if we have another need, we definitely would contact them.

I got the services of Four Seasons for our 13 by 13 sunroom. They helped with the permit and they did not require most of the money up front like Home Depot. Every time they did a phase, that’s the only time they asked for money. Home Depot, since they’ve subcontracted out, they wanted 10% down just to measure. Then they wanted the rest of the money up front before they even put one piece of lumber in the yard, which I felt was completely wrong. Unfortunately, Four Seasons was going through a transition at that time. They were extremely difficult to get in touch with every time we had to question everything written in our contract. The two guys that built the sunroom tried to weasel more money out of us by saying that we didn’t pay for a knee high wall. But we did because it was stated in the contract.

The siding was supposed to match the house as stated in the contract. They said that they have to order it special. I said, “Well, it says in the contract the sidings matched. So you're going to make it match and we're not paying any extra money.” The contractor that they subcontracted out either didn’t read the contract or was just trying to weasel more money out of us. Then we had a difficult time with them trying to clean up the garbage they left. The two contractors were supposed to take it away. They finally sent a supervisor over here to clean it up. That part was very annoying. It got to a point where my husband went down there in person, and told them, “You're not calling me back. You're not doing any of this.” At this point, he said, “I'd like to tell you guys to go to hell and not finish the job, but unfortunately, we needed the job finished.”

And then after we paid them, we never saw or heard from them again. The physical product is fine. The guys did do a good job when they read the contract and did what they were supposed to do. The foundation and the windows are fine. Thank God I haven't had any leaks. I needed a screen replaced, and it turns out they wouldn't do it, so I ended up doing it myself. Though the product was good, I would probably not recommend them.

Four Seasons put a sunroom in for us and at the time, they had a very good reputation. However, right from the very beginning, the design was a problem. Once we were able to get the design straightened out, I had a leak that they created and they kept saying it wasn't. I had a roofer find out that when Four Seasons joined it to the side of my house, they basically cut a hole in the roof and we're hoping that the single roofing would take care of it but it didn't. It was back and forth and it took me over a year to get the sunroom in. After that, it was nothing but trouble and I was very disappointed with them.

There were code issues that they weren't aware of. I was led to believe that it was a family-owned business, and when I was working with them, they sold it to a Canadian company. It was falling in between the cracks from this sale of the business. I never even got anyone to just say, "Well, we're sorry about what happened. What can we do to solve that?" I'm a business man myself and we could have been talked to and it wouldn't have been a big deal. But I never got anything like that. When they called me about getting replacement windows, I told them I had a problem with them and to have their manager call me, but I never got any manager. It was a terrible experience.

Four Seasons reps came to my home on several occasions and said that they could make the room. Then a week before they were going to do it, they told me that they were unable to put the room where they were going to because it was going to block one of the windows to my bedroom. As a result, they were going to charge me several thousand dollars more so that I could install an egress window out the front of my bedroom so that if there was a fire, I wouldn't be trapped. I was furious I wasn't going to pay that money. After they cancelled the order, someone in the company called me back and said they would cover the $2,000 fee to install the window. Overall, they wound up doing the right thing by giving me the window but my room is not four seasons. I can't use it in the winter and we can’t use it in the summer. It’s ice cold in the winter. We can’t use it. There's no heat and central air in the room. It's only a two-season room but it is a four-season roof which I don't understand. But I don't hate my room and I wouldn't get rid of it.

We had a very expensive sunroom built November 2015. In late January Four Seasons contractor (most likely sub contractor) came to do some final touches. Within a few days we had rain storm and that's when the awful leaks began. My beautiful new furniture was soaked and when I called Four Seasons to have someone come no one was able to help or send anyone over. I was told they had people on call. That's when my emails began. I documented everything in Email.

From that first weekend in February 2016 to present they have tried every excuse to take blame off of them. They tried convincing me it was my roof, my skylights, the solar panels etc. At one point when I was at my limit John made a very sarcastic remark that made my blood boil. We had to pay to have some solar panels removed. Four Seasons hired a roofing company to come and look under the tiles and what not. They finally discovered that the contractor didn't seal something. I waited until after we had some rain to have panels reinstalled. And wouldn't you know it a few days ago there was a new leak in a different spot. I contacted them Thursday and they aren't coming until today Tuesday. You would think with all that we dealt with for 11 months they would be going out of their way to come asap. Nope! The one star is for Janet the rep who always responded to my emails and tried her best to keep me calm.

We used Four Seasons for a previous room we had which was destroyed by Sandy and my most recent experience with them was terrible. The salesperson who came here and their project manager were total frauds. Four Seasons came here and said that they'll take the contract away from Allure if I gave them first option, that they'll give me this and this, that they're gonna make the bill higher than it should be and that anything I get above that is mine to keep. But when it all settled out, the salesperson and project manager backed off and didn't back it up.

The original contract called for rugging, but I never got half of what they had promised. Those people should be fired. They destroyed my wife and I for months. We went through hell and hell with the pressure that was put on us wondering about whether we're gonna be charged with fraud. I was ready to go to the New York State insurance or the attorney general and turn the salesperson and project manager in. Apart from that, the contractors who installed a completely new sunroom were excellent. That's what made the whole deal better. But I will never recommend Four Seasons again only because of the frontline people who I don't trust and are fraudulent.

The sunroom that I got from Four Seasons about a decade ago seems to be of pretty good quality. In many ways, I like it. But Four Seasons' sales rep was misleading about the sunroom's insulating capability and lied about what is needed for it and what it can do. It doesn't hold heat in so I have to have a two-ton heating unit, which is enormous for just a sunroom, plus a very large capacity plug-in heater to keep us warm in winter. The sales rep also said that I won't even feel the heat coming in in the summer but the glass lets in much heat. So, they misrepresented it, which is a relatively serious matter and should be brought to the attention of the people who make the decisions about how they change their sales staff. It's one thing to make a sale and another to lie about the features of what they're selling. It was totally lied about. But at any rate, I'm satisfied with the sunroom because I'm able to deal with the problems.

I've had Four Seasons Sunrooms' guys come over two to three times fix my sunroom's leak but they couldn't find it. I had it for about 20 years and I had all the glass replaced two years ago now. The guys had shield this and that and it held in and then all of a sudden, just a few weeks ago on a torrential downpour, there was water again in that area. Maybe it comes down in certain directions of it. They tried to do a good job but it's still not a hundred percent fixed. They think it might be something to do with the siding, but it was there before they put the newer windows in and I had no leaks there on the old one. I'm not happy with it but I know I can live with it. It doesn't happen continuously but there is something wrong somewhere.

Four Seasons did my sunroom and the work was good. The only issue that I ended up having to fix was the seams. There's no shingles on the roof, so it's just a panel, and they just caulked all the seams and I had problems with leaks. They came back a couple of times to re-caulk things and what I ended up doing was I bought like a roll of tape but instead of adhesive, it's tar. I had to lay this down on all the seams to seal it and ever since I used that, I've never had any problems with leaks. It would be nice if Four Seasons would do that when they install because then you wouldn't have to worry about it. It cost me $200 for the material. For the amount of money that you pay for the room for them to spend a couple of hundred bucks to put the stuff on shouldn't be a big deal. But that's the only complaint that I have and everything else has been good.

She was the one who remarked right away, "They partitioned the area off and they cleaned every single day before they left," because my ex-wife was a clean-freak. My greenhouse was built in '89. Much of the glass was changed in 2006 and it's perfect. The new glass is superior energy-wise. Everything was wonderful and terrific.

I was online looking for sun windows, punched for quotes, and got a phone call from Four Seasons. I set up an appointment a couple of days later and a sales rep came by who showed us the difference between their product and the other products out there. He had a cut-away of the framing and showed how much thicker it was as well as how much more channels helped to prevent the weather from coming in. He also showed us the gaps in between the panes of glass bearing the heat block. He was real informative and knowledgeable about the product. We liked the sales pitch and he basically sold us on it through the demo.

We got the windows and the work was good. Once the windows came in, the crew got there and they were pretty efficient. They were able to take out the old windows, get rid of all that old debris, double-check for any broken glass and whatnot. Then they installed the new stuff, made sure that they caulked everything up real good, and finally left me a phone number to call in case within the next day or so there was something I didn't like about it and so they should come right back out to fix it. But everything was good and the windows are a superior product. It has been an easy and simple experience without any hard decision. It only took a couple of phone calls and it was done.

I found Four Seasons on the internet and they're apparently the big cheese in Long Island in terms of sunrooms. I did a little research then went to the factory in Holbrook and I was impressed by the product so I bought it. I got a sunroom and the glass structure with the aluminum and everything was very good quality. I had some problems with some water coming in but the guy came and fixed it so it's been that way ever since. The sunroom held up over the years.

Most of my interactions with the contractors were with getting the permits. I had an easement, which was ridiculous and very difficult to get. I started looking at the sunroom in the summer and they didn't actually install it until the winter. It's not because it's anything to do with Four Seasons but it was with the permit process. Then the contractors did the work very quickly. Still, it was a shame because I didn't get to really use it till the next season, but other than that everything went well. I'm even thinking of using them again for a small project of getting an enclosure involving curved glass surfaces in another house I own if they have the will with all to do it.

We drove past the showroom of Four Seasons a number of times. One day my wife said, "Let's look further." When we looked in, we decided that we wanted them to install a sunroom for us. And it's the best addition we made to the house. The sunroom is a joy to have. We liked the design which is 98% glass and some aluminum. The roof is all glass, so you could sit outside in the rain and watch the rain come down and hit the roof panels.

When we were asking about the glass, their sales rep impressed me. He reached into his pocket, took out his ring of keys, threw them at a piece of glass, and said, "See that? Nothing will ever happen to it." In fact, we had an experience with the glass a year and a half ago when the wind got so hard. The cap of our chimney, which is about six feet away from the sunroom, got picked up in the air and came smashing down on one of the roof panels, but the glass didn't break. I had the cap tightened on as tight as I could, but it cracked off and broke some of the Orangeburg pipe liner of the chimney, and I could tell where the broken piece hit the glass because I could see the orange color mark from the clay pipe which was quite heavy. So, I said, "The glass roof is pretty good. It's not gonna break easily." You have to have something sharp like an axe or a big, heavy tree branch to break it.

I'm an engineer and it looked like the sunroom was put together very well. And the fellows who did the installation were very knowledgeable with the whole thing because they brought all the parts and laid these out in our backyard. Then one by one, they started bringing these closer to the house to do the installation. The only problem that we had was with the gutters for the rain. Last year, we had a lot of snow. When the sun came up, it melted some of the snow, and then at night the snow froze, slid off the roof into the gutters, stretched the gutter, and messed up one of the end attachments that the fellows had put on when they put the room up.

But Four Seasons sent out a technician to do the repair. He spent two hours at the house fixing the misshapen part and bending it back into shape. He also knew what he was doing and that impressed me. I'm a do-it-yourself person and tried to bend the part back into shape, but I could not move it. I have put up my own gutters and downspouts, and the material that the gutters was made of was three times as thick and much stronger than the stuff that I had put on the house when we first bought it and moved in. But they're all put together now. We don't have any leaks and it's a joy.

We had two huge trees before in our yard, but Hurricane Sandy took them down, and thank God these dropped away from the house. Now the sunroom is in the sun all the time, with no trees to shade it. But we always have a breeze coming out of the north, so it never really gets too hot in the room, and it's about 50 to 60 degrees there now. It's pleasant to sit out there in this kind of weather. I believe we were well taken care of by Four Seasons, and that's why we have recommended them.

I was riding in South Hampton and saw Four Seasons' showroom. My husband and I went in and we got our first sunroom. The one I have now is my second purchase. I like the sunroom very much. The quality is right. But the fan with the new one I got didn't really last that long and I was a little upset with that. Also, it's now leaking. But other than that, I've been very contented with it. I would recommend Four Seasons.

I got a sunroom and a kitchen from Four Seasons. It was their reputation and lifetime warranty that made me choose them. The quality of their work was beautiful for until now it still looks great. They came one time because the lock on the backdoor of the sunroom went wonky so they fixed it. However, I had an issue with the kitchen contractor basically because of laziness but everybody else worked their butts off and kept the place nice and clean. If I had to do something major like that again, I would go with them.

It has been a long time that I had it done and it's still working. However, when I had a problem with one of the windows, they just fixed it and they didn't change it, but it's fine. It still doesn't work a 100% but it's doable. Overall, it was a good experience.

Four Seasons Sunrooms is a reputable and long-standing company so I got them to build me a room. It is about ten years old now and we've had almost no problems. I would recommend them. The only thing that I see as potential problem is some of the plastic stripping on the inside of the windows is beginning to turn color from white to an off ivory. But the white metal that the stripping is next to hasn't changed. It's an aesthetic issue and I was gonna contact them about it.

We'd been to The Four Seasons office on the highway and the salesman was friendly and knowledgeable. He came and brought the vice president of operations and they took measurements because our windows aren’t all the same size. They had to play a little bit with it to get the right match and they did a fantastic job. They made us a proposal and we took it as we liked it. The material was delivered in good shape, and everything fit. The sunroom has been put up and it’s still running good.

We had what I thought was a conceptive meeting and I gave Four Seasons a deposit check. It was an excess of $3,000. Then I got a call from my credit card company, which is Capital One, and they said, “Can you verify that this is something you created.” Because it was almost $4,000 and they’re good about that. And then they told me what the bank was that took it or where it was posted and it was something that began with an M and I wrote a check to Four Seasons. And they called me like 4 o’ clock in the afternoon. I said, “I can call them and get it entered for you, but it’s late in the day. I’ll see what I can do.”

So I called the gentleman who was in charge of the sales team. And he said, “Well, that’s where we deposit the check.” I said, “Would you please make a note in your mind that when you’re doing business with a new client and it’s a big deposit that you tell them it’s going to appear on your books under this name.” So I called my credit card people back and they said, “We’ve already cancelled it, we canceled your card completely.” And right now I’m realizing the reason I’m not getting my newspaper delivered is because nobody’s had time to call me and tell me that the auto pay doesn’t work anymore. And I have my electric, my TV, my paper delivery. Anything you could think of that you don’t have to look at that bill all the time on auto pay. And I have about 12 or 10 and somehow I missed that ones.

Now I wrote it to Four Seasons and got deposited in that account. That doesn’t even seem to be correct banking, for me. They may have that agreement with them, but it didn’t go to the place I sent the deposit to. So it’s been a mess. And the post office was closed for the holiday so they’ll probably have a written notice from them instead of a phone call that your credit card’s not working. It was just exasperating. And then the number was a bit high because we’re talking about a $40,000 porch and that seemed to be a lot to me. Four Seasons has to start treating the client like they’re a person.

I have built a front stoop and a back stoop because when I bought this house the stoop only was at four feet and I had on the front of the house a leather door that’s very heavy and you open it towards you. So if I open that corner I’m very close to stepping off that stoop. And the ice was breaking. You can’t chop the ice off the brick because if you do you chop the brick away. On the back porch it was only four feet. I couldn’t even put a table and chair on it to sit out there and it’s got a sliding door from the master bedroom to that deck behind the other door leaving, going out the house that was on the original plan. So I redid that.

When they were here they were saying, I have a support column. They’re not coming down on a support column, so they’ll just make the porch that much shorter. They’re going to cut that column off, but they have to do the triangle bracing on top to support the ceiling until they can get the new one in and then, depending on the column, the same height as the porch. But these people, with their $40,000 porch are telling me, “They won’t touch the column. They’ll just make the porch shorter.” And this porch goes out to the end of the house. They couldn’t even come up with that because what they got is like the building block. So I’m thinking, “This isn’t it.” Then I looked at it. I have a traditional house. When you go and all that metal on the traditional house, it just doesn’t go with it. They wouldn’t allow me the square footage per any tile I picked out.

They’re doing a very good business and they’re just got their package. The extra guy, that was supposedly training, who have had tremendous experience all over the world, was just getting to know the other guys. He was the one they sent to come back because they knew I didn’t want to talk to the lead guy that was doing the deal with me. He wanted to save the deal, but he listened to me. And I didn’t even tell him that I could move the column if I had a real carpenter. That I can bring in someone besides their package.

I have a three panel sliding door, a morgan door, off of my dining area unto my pool deck. But it fits the house because the framing on the morgan door is light material that looks like my windows. In the long run it isn’t the proper fit for my style house. If I was their manager I would be very critical of how they worked. Curt, who was the third guy on the team, understands why I would’ve turned it down because of the style of my house. Right from the very beginning, they have to understand that they’re not listening or they’re not telling everything. And I’m angry because they’re not flexible.

In early 2000 Four Seasons Sunrooms installed a window in our ceiling. They put the smallest one they had which is 11 x 15. It was confined between windows that were sticking out and curved out in a chimney. So we were limited in one direction and then the other way to the property line. It's an extension of our dining room.

Four Seasons Sunrooms made a couple of mistakes but they made up for it. The man who did it never sealed between the ceiling and the walls. We would have had to bother them many times with it. But all we needed was some caulking and it was fine. For our troubles, they were supposed to give us a large window on the roof. It was a smaller one that came. We called about it and they said that what we wanted to put there is too big. So we agreed and kept what they had and no more problems with it. I was very grateful for it. It wasn't a perfect experience but they made it perfect.

I heard from people that Four Seasons Sunrooms did the best and the glass was the best, which was in consideration since we have an entirely glass sunroom. My sister works for a company that makes glass so she had some familiarity with Four Seasons. We were able to visit the facility and do some picking out. The sunroom that we now have is gorgeous and it hasn't leaked.

However, I misunderstood the whole thing because I thought that they'd be a bit more helpful than they were. The electrician that they recommended was horrible and the guy who was supposed to do the job promised me things that in the end Four Seasons forced him to do because they held back my last payment. I got the sense that the ones who came were a bunch of contractor guys. One of them came with a door and when I asked him what it was, he told me when it's time to put the door up he'd put that one up. And I said to him, "But that may not be the door that I want." I really didn't understand some of the things that he did.

By now you've read enough terrible reviews to know that this company is a joke. As my wife and I read through them, we gasped and laughed at how many others went through precisely what we did. We should form a support group! I won't go through every bad turn and dead end we ran into in 2002 with you, other than to say that, in the end, we had CHUBB take over and it was they who sued the subcontractor until he had to go out of business. Yes, the main thing to know is that "Four Seasons" (meaning "Brian" who co-owns the company with Shaun Kennedy; the company is today a division of Latium USA) is simply a company in NY that manages contracts and has all parts... after the purchase they turn it entirely over to some local schmuck SUB-contractor.

In fact, they've recently bought out Metals USA Building Products, a manufacturer and distributor of aluminum products, leaving many in the industry wondering just where the installation part is. In our case, the fly-by-night sub never drilled the so-important "drain holes" in the exterior frame, thus resulting in water damage to the Bruce hardwood floor... and that was just the beginning. Four Seasons doesn't accept ANY responsibility after the sale and hand-off, so you'll have to go after your subcontractor. And, yes, everything has to be shipped from the NY office, and they're never available for inquiry or complaints and/or never respond to calls or letters. So don't waste your time. It never got any of US any help. And, as others have noted, Brian never calls back, regardless of what you hear from his secretary. It's a lost cause and, without legal representation, you'll end up feeling like you've been fleeced.

That said, after our suit (requiring another $25,000 on their part to fix the damage and improper initial installation) we now enjoy our room. TIPS: We live in Philadelphia. DO NOT install facing South or Southwest. You'll fry. Make sure you have the room facing north. Even then, try stretching sky blue sheets on the ceiling immediately under the glass during the summer (actually, looks pretty good). Next, make sure you plan on installing more baseboard heat from your furnace AND plan to pay an additional $5,000 for a Heat pump. This gives you the additional heat and/or AC when you want it.

Today, we live in the room entirely, winter and summer, and watch the seasons go buy. BUT, we can never forget the HELL "Four Seasons" put us through. You'll definitely end up having an insurance company (or worse, yourself) filing a lawsuit against their subcontractor. They allow virtually ANY small construction company with a bad history to be assigned to your installation. They really don't care because after the sale, Four Seasons is NEVER involved. So make sure you've got competent installers... and an attorney friend. (Update: Today we have a problem door, but Four Seasons STILL gave out the name of another nincompoop sub to fix it. UGH!)

April 27, 2006. My husband and I decided to add a sunroom addition to the back of our house. We decided to go with your Company Four Season. The size of the sunroom we purchase was x by x and the style was **. The total cost of the sunroom was $60,000. (Exclusion was steps on both sides, installing floor such as carpet, vinyl or hardwood flooring, sheet rock, sanding and painting the interior wall and installing the electrical). The cost of the sunroom was like buying our house all over again so we expected perfection and we got everything but that.

The crew was unprofessional and left the yard a mess. Some days they would call us and tell us they were coming out and they would not show. Sometimes they showed up for 2 hours and then leave. I did not understand that. When we paid your company that kind of money you would think someone would show up daily and work a full day until the job was done. (My husband and his crew would and could have done a better job than your crew).

When your company installed our air condition/heating system your crew installed it on the wrong side. My husband even gave them a drawing showing them where to install it. Your company offers us $150 dollars if we left it where they installed it due to the involvement of removing it and placing it where it should have been. I told them that it was an insult and I wanted them to deduct $500 dollars. I told them for having something installed on the wrong side that $500 dollars was being reasonable especially when we paid $60,000 for the sunroom. I told them if they did not agree then I wanted the heating system put in the original place that we requested. They agreed and they deducted the $500 off the original price of the sunroom.

Then the sunroom screens were damage because the crew did not secure them properly and they fell over hitting our pool during a windy day. Our sliding door was also damage. The screens were replaced but we are still waiting on our sliding door to be replaced. It took a couple of weeks until your company decided to order us another door. It seems as if everyone had to come out and look at the door before making a decision on replacing the door.

Then the rain came. Our sunroom leaked all around the top inner area. It leaked at the peak down onto the sheet rock that my husband put up. A crew came out and said that holes should have been drilled so the water would run down the drain. That was done and then it rain again and our sunroom still leaks. They came out again and worked on the sunroom once again. The rain came and it is still leaking. They said they would be out to take care of everything on April 27th. No one came out and when my husband called he was told your company meant next Thursday, May 4th and not this Thursday. Apparently they wanted to do everything at once and that is when the sliding door is supposed to come in. My husband wanted to know what to do between now and next Thursday if it were to rain. Our sheet rock for the wall is getting ruin.

We have talked too many high level people and dealt with many of your workers. I feel like we are getting the run around and I am sick of it. I paid too much money to be treated like this and I feel if your company can't compensate us in some way or fix the sunroom right then they can take it down and give use our money back because we our fed up. I would not recommend your Company Four Season to anyone and I am sorry I feel this way because I really thought I was going with the best and boy I was in for a shock.

Update: January 11, 2007. I was not going to send this letter to Consumer Protection Division but my patience has ran out. My sunroom is still leaking and now I have a heating and air condition system and the heating system is not working. I paid $60,000 for our sunroom. It may not seem a lot to some people but it is a lot for an average family. I just want my leak in my sunroom and our heating system fix. That does not seem too much to asked. My husband had called the vice president, Brian, once and a co-worker, Dennis, to address the issue.

Update: October 4, 2016. This sunroom is still leaking from heavy rains the last past day and my floor is falling through. Though I had my sunroom installed in April of 2006, I never got to enjoy it at all. It only looks nice but what a nightmare. I think I will see about a class action suit into this matter. Everyone one of us should be compensated for what we did not get. Yet, I still paying on this nightmare. Something needs to be done.

While the product itself is nice enough, customer service beginning from the time of construction and continuing to now is the worst I have ever encountered. Warranty repairs are not made, phone calls are not returned, appointments not kept, and the people who answer the phone seem to know nothing at all about the product or the business and simply promise "we'll call you right back". Which doesn't happen. I would not do business with this company again.

We had a sunroom built a few years back. It was built on the south side of our house. You can incubate chickens in that room during the summer. It never occurred to me that the salesperson should have told us not to get an all glass sunroom because of the heat. Well we tinted the windows which cost us a fortune. It helps a little but not much. Shades would cost thousands of dollars so the room is hardly used in the summer. We have leaks in the sunroom as well. I wish I could tear the whole thing down but that would be a waste of $30,000. I should have extended my kitchen and forgotten about the sunroom.

I purchased kitchen cabinets from Four Seasons in December 2015. I was won over at my first meeting with our Four Seasons salesman. He was charming, knowledgeable and had great ideas. He sold me on the turnaround time and workmanship of his company and quality of their cabinets. I was so impressed that I purchased that day. I was impressed and naïve. At our second meeting, the romance ended. I was informed by the project manager that the cabinets I chose were no longer being manufactured. Moreover, the turnaround time for delivery of the cabinets was double what I was originally told. But it was too late for me to walk away from the deal because my contractor was starting the following week.

When the cabinets were finally delivered, there were missing pieces and defective parts. When project manager came to inspect, he told us that “there was nothing they could do” about the defective pieces, and he would order the missing ones. When we raised hell, we were told that they would find a satisfactory resolution – we are still waiting to be satisfied. When the missing pieces were finally delivered, they were still defective and one was not glazed.

We called again, and it took more than 2 days for the project manager to call back. When he did, all he said was that he was going to see what he could do. As of the date of this review (7 weeks from our last call), we have not yet heard back from the project manager. I have nothing but praise for our salesman. He was very helpful in designing my kitchen and he sincerely apologized for all of the problems. The rest of the company, well let’s just say I won’t be getting any more cabinets from them. They were a huge and costly disappointment.

The rains came, this thing leaked from 20 places. As I investigated it further I found that the leaks had rotted out all the main beams that supported the structure. (It's on the second story.) Rot and termites. I had to restructure the entire second floor. As a contractor for over 40 years with all the right tools and skills I tore off the entire thing. Very disappointed with our custom built sunroom from Four Seasons Sunrooms out of Albuquerque, NM. My wife and I did our research and found the good reviews of Four Seasons Sunrooms to be good so we went with them since we wanted a custom built sunroom. Oh was we wrong. We had the sales rep/designer come out and give us information about our space. We did not give him a set price we just told him what we wanted and this is the results. We now have a sunroom with holes in the door in which you are able to see inside out where dust, insects, and wind is able to enter. We have a cooling/heating unit that will not heat the area plus very noises.

I contacted the company and they sent out an HVAC team and the answer we got back was if we let it run for 2-3 days, it will warm up and put carpet on the floor. My question is when the designer came out to survey the area why did he not recommend a different unit for the space and construction. I requested that they come out and remove the unit and give me credit since this was done in Oct/Dec and we only used it once. I also informed them that we would have our own unit installed. That's been over a week ago still have not heard back from the company. The same with the holes in the two doors they sent out a repairman to repair and he was not able to do the repair. He wanted to fill it with putty to fix the problem. Just remember this is a custom built sunroom. We are so disappointed in their work. Now we are not able to get the company to respond to our emails.

Updated 8/26/2016: I am only home from Korea for a month for the summer so I coordinated the repairs and problem issues I have before coming home. I contacted Four Seasons to let them know my schedule. They did send a service tech down to repair the leaking doors. He was able to fix the water leak at the bottom. I explain to him that I have two holes at the top of the door. He explain that he could not fix the holes and that I should not expect the room to be perfect. I had a problem understanding that remark since it is a custom built room. The holes are still there. I was corresponding with the person in charge to have the heating/cooling either fix are replaced. He stated in his last email to me that he was checking the warehouse for one. But since that date 11 August, I have not heard from him. He won't answer my emails again.

I notice that my last review received over 17000 hits, I hope this review with help others in making their decisions when they are in the market for a sunroom. At this point I don't expect them to make good on the junk they installed in my home. To add we use this unit for one week and our electric bill increased $150.00. One of the things that I hate is while my wife and I are serving our country in South Korea and with the stress we have, we are having to deal with a sub-standard company causing us stress here for something we paid good money for.

We're contracting someone else to repair the roof as Four Seasons Sunrooms has not been responsive. The contractor that's going to repair the roof has shown me photos of the roof. The workmanship is absolutely terrible. I'm embarrassed that I simply trusted them to do a decent job and didn't inspect myself when it was being installed nor did I coordinate any supervision from a 3rd party. I've learned my lesson. This was a nightmare from the beginning. From the day they told us the sunroom was "water tight". The next day it rained and buckets of rain came in through the roof where they had to build it up (the corner that met with the rest of the house). We called them to fix it multiple times and they would redo it and still buckets of rain would come through. Finally my husband redid it himself (he used to do construction) and it stopped leaking. After much debate he gave us $1000 off. Big deal. We have a glass roof and there's always a new leak springing up. Every year it comes from a different spot in addition to the slider where it always leaks.

There's actually a hole on the side of the slider where you can see daylight! This year we had an ice dam and got lots of water in. So we decided to redo the sunroom ourselves and make it a regular room at our own expense. I've emailed the company multiple times and they refused to help us. They say the warranty is only good on the glass. This "Four Season" sunroom is stifling in the summer and freezing in winter. It makes our whole house cold all winter which is another reason we are removing it. You can actually feel a breeze off the windows. In summer, its like a greenhouse. It's so hot you will be nauseous if you don't have the A/C pumping in there. All in all a HUGE mistake.

We met with a rep today. The "lifetime" warranty is not. Turns out it is only for 20 years. We would qualify for a credit if we buy a very expensive replacement, but that same credit is not available if we only replace the failing glass. Which is failing from the inside out, with the sun-block coating that is between the pieces of glass peeling. Looks horrible. The heat in the sunroom is unbearable, even on an overcast day. This sunroom is an eye sore.

Mesko says it's a design flaw and won't repair it any more. Four Seasons is aware of the flaw but they won't do anything about it. They don't stand behind their product. The company did not perform to a proper commercial standard, tried to overbill us, and would not even warranty their own work. After changing the plans, without having a discussion with us, they placed much of the large new skylight under and eve of the roof, which was not in the plans we approved. They tried to tell us that changes to the plans without our authorization was ok if they deemed it acceptable by the project manager, who was rarely onsite. We then had to cut out the eve of our roof and we felt that we should only should pay for half of their $2400 fee they wanted to charge us for their mess up.

The regular absence of the project manager to coordinate subcontractors was a regular occurrence and we often had to manage this. The only bright spot was the design architect who did everything to try and manage the situation but in the end could only do so much. We have renovated many times and have found this to be one of our worst experiences.

Well I am here to tell you that I was a sub-contractor for a Four Seasons franchise in Florida and it was worst work situation I have ever been in. It was a bad experience all the way around. I ignored a lot of "red flags" because of the "clout" of the long standing solid FOUR SEASONS name. I worked hard to produce the best product I could and just got deeper in their **.

To start, every time (almost always) the job was mis-sold, mis-measured, mis-ordered, mis-shipped, or back ordered. It took weeks upon weeks to get it resolved and completed/paid since their shipment is from one location in NY once a week. The whole experience started with the typical "word of honor" stuff and ended up needing an attorney for unpaid labor invoices. Once the franchise failed miserably, the owner, KEN BIDDLE, went to work for Four Seasons corporate office. Now this character is training franchise owners for the entire southern region. Do you want to wager a guess what this corporation is condoning if not encouraging to teach new franchise owners? Good luck with your warranty and leak issues when the installers responsible for the build have as many issues against Four Season and their franchises as you do.

As with many of the other commenters, the house we purchased 3.5 years ago had a Four Seasons sunroom attached. We absolutely loved the idea of the room and it definitely contributed to our decision to purchase the house. This summer we noticed a leak in the roof. We contacted a local Four Seasons dealer and requested a quote for repair. Before they would issue a quote, they required someone to come out and look at the structure which would cost $281 plus tax, but if we went ahead with the repair, we would receive a credit for 50% of that service call.

Since I was having no luck getting any other contractors out to have a look, I agreed to pay the $281. The serviceman showed up at my house, took a quick look at the structure from inside (no exploratory investigation, just a quick 10 second look and a count of the number of panes in the roof). He then told me that they could do a very quick repair for $2000 but they would not even warranty that type of repair. They said it could last a month or a few years. They had no idea. So I asked how much it would cost to repair the entire roof properly and was absolutely shocked to hear the response of $9,500!!!

The room cost $50,000 brand new and was only 13 years old and yet required a $10,000 repair???? I could not believe what I was hearing. Needless to say I did not go ahead with the repair. I am now looking to see what I can do myself and if I'm not going to be able to repair it, I will likely look to have it torn down. What a waste for something that should be such a beautiful room. I am very disappointed and I hope based on my experiences and those that are described on this site that no one else gets ripped off and selects another manufacturer for such a structure!

Purchased Four Seasons Sunrooms Product for installation to start early April (4/8/14). The result was very poor workmanship, little or no supervision even though I had concerns the first day and communicated that to both the Project Manager and General Manager at vendor (Home Resort Living of AZ, Phoenix Office). Long story short: two failed electrical inspections, one electrical code violation (314.29) 3 punch lists by PM, GM and my own by multiple personnel and 124 days later (8/11/14) did I finally end up with a good not great patio enclosure. To get an acceptable outcome, I had to apply pressure through their financial partner and parent owner company (DreamStyle Remodeling in Albuquerque, N.M). The end result the Phoenix office and "their" personnel were removed from project and work completed by other personnel from Prescott office.

In summary Four Season Sunrooms do business as many different companies and ROC #s. That alone may not be a large problem but in Phoenix it is. As a result, I now have a re-built enclosure with new sills, channels, panel: all re-sealed, new electrical, that has been caulked/sealed and massaged into an acceptable end product, Good not great, not near the value I expected. I was lucky to find an office (Prescott, AZ) with qualified/skill workers to help resolve an initial horrible result. I believe the Four Seasons Solar Products (Holbrook, NY) DBA Four Seasons Sunrooms lack control of their vendors/sub-contractors. I was lucky, working with Prescott, AZ and Albuquerque, N.M. I would not recommend Four Season Sunroom products due to variability in workmanship of vendors. It should not take 124 days to complete a 2-4 days scope of work.

And they will say today price is only good for today and they will give a lot of reason to you to explain why the price is only good for today. The funniest thing about this company is they never try to train their sales person about construction knowledge, the sales in this company know nothing about construction. The company sent out contractors which was not their own and they (contractor) had made the statement that they had never installed one like this. The room has been making a popping noise and now the windows are hard to open and close. The screens on two windows do not fit and have gap between the frame on the building that a large bug could walk thru. The main frame of the room is cracked in two places. The door has become very hard to close and lock. We had a hailstorm prior to having the room installed and they (SD of Ne) would send out their crew to replace the shingles. I Find out that the crew was another subcontractor and installed the shingles wrong. I complained to the company that made the shingles and they came out and said that the shingles were good but not installed right. Tried to get SD of Ne to come out and make it right. No such luck and this has been going on for 2 years.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and I have also hired a lawyer. You don't want SD of Ne to even come near your property. I have several people that will go to court with me to testify on my behalf. Also the sheetrock has cracked where the room was attached. I told SD of D that the room was settling and they told me that it was to specs. Come to find out that they never checked... We live on a lake where there is a lot of sand and it take extra footings. I feel that I was taken. I still owe some money to the company but they have got most of the money. I have been getting letters and now a phone call about paying my bill. This gal that kept sending the letters and now the phone call was not told that we are filling a lawsuit against the company. Make me wonder why the owner of the company didn't tell her. I have a feeling that they don't talk to one another.

We inherited the sun room when we purchased our little mountain home 18 months ago. Honestly, it was one of the main reasons we fell in love with the place. It not only added square footage and a beautiful dining room, it allows sun into an otherwise dark space as we are in a forest setting. Two months after moving in, the roof begins to leak, compromising rugs and furniture. We called the home office immediately and were referred to the nearest franchise (the original installer was no longer in business). Same thing happened as others have stated..."We didn't install it so we don't work on it." Home office stated that since original owners did not maintain any warranty that they are under no obligation to do anything.

The "local" franchisee did say he would send someone out (it took a year), however they had a $150.00 fee to just look at the thing and when we sent pictures to their office to expedite they informed us it would cost $900.00 to send a guy out with a tube of caulk. The seals have dried out and are cracked so the water is pouring in....no one, not the home office, or the franchisee will replace them. If the home office would back up their product then the franchisees would more than likely be willing to service the sun room. It seems our only recourse is to demo the room and build again. Since we are retiring...we just cannot afford to do this. We are just stuck with this mess. NEVER use 4-Seasons!

In 2006, we had a sunroom installed. A couple of years later, we were at home when we heard a loud noise. Being dark out we could not see that an outside pane of glass had shattered. Our local dealer told us it must have been something that flew into the glass to break it. We knew it was BS but we ate it and paid over $300 for shipping and labor to replace it. Fast forward to 2013 and another window has shattered. This time, it is an inside pane and I was the only person home so I know nothing touched the glass.

Our rep wants $550 to replace it when there is something causing these panels to break. Multiple calls have not been returned and we are filing complaints with BBB and against his expired license. No progress yet but when we have the local news station show up at his door with a camera in his face. It will at least alert other prospective buyers to run away.

We had a 21-foot-wide by 10 foot Four Seasons solarium installed on our second story above the kitchen in 1985. It was wonderful on sunny winter days, but there were problems. The cords for the roll-up curtains with automatic controls didn't stay in their tracks. There were little leaks. We ended up having to get rid of the curtains. We had the entire solarium re-glazed with low-E glass, trying to control the leaking and to deal with excessive heat gain when the curtains were gone. Then this year we realized that the entire wall below the solarium was rotten. Water had been channeled down into two or three areas and had eaten away whole 2x6s. We are in the process of removing the solarium and replacing it with an ordinary sunroom with a normal roof.

My job cost over $76,000.00 and in my entire life I never have been scammed like this before. I am 61. The whole job was wrong including pitch on roof (water sits on it all day), roof leaks like Niagara Falls, sometimes 1-2 inches on floor - leaks where roof meets glass enclosure, sliding glass doors do not close properly, need Hulk Hogan to close, Water damage to walls (completely destroyed), roofing leaks caused by improper installation (both totaled $6700.00). The workmanship was by far the worst that I have seen. My repairmen could not believe their eyes and felt I was really ripped off and should sue.

There is Absolutely No Warranty on Windows as I have Five broken and Absolutely No Repair. Four Seasons states they have no one in the area to do warranty work and do not work the area. The last time I saw them was them super pressuring me for final check. They stated no check now - no warranty work ever. I KNEW THEN I WAS SCREWED! By the way city code inspectors told me they were the worst crew they ever saw and possibly not issue any more permits. "One roof they did had to be completely torn off because it was so poorly done," the inspector said.

To say the least, Code Enforcement was not happy with the work. I have submitted pictures, letters, other remodeling co. phone calls and you name it all to fall on DEAF EARS. I hope no one ever uses this company ever again. They are a prime example of true scam artistry. Everything is a total lie especially warranty service workmanship. My wife and I live in Sussex County, NJ. First of all, I would like to say that there may be people out there who have had a good experience with Four Seasons. Being satisfied, there would be no reason for them to seek out this website and write about it. Having said that, here is my story.

It was around the year 2000 when my wife and I invited a local contractor into our home. The previous homeowner had installed a homemade sun room on the second floor over the front porch roof of our colonial style house. He had enlarged windows from the front bedrooms to create access to the new room. It was a great idea, but it had begun to leak and the space between the window panes had filled with water after Hurricane Floyd in 1999. We invited the contractor to find out about repairing the existing structure, but he recommended replacing it with a Four Seasons System 4 (whenever he mentioned the product, he pluralized the word "system" which annoyed me greatly, but that is another story) sun room. My brother had previously bought a house with a Four Seasons room which leaked constantly, which I mentioned to this contractor. His answer was that the System Four was a superior product and that he would install it properly so that it would not leak.

The leaking started as soon as it was installed and before I had a chance to finish the inside of the room. I contacted the contractor, who eventually came over and re-caulked some seams, assuring me that the problem was corrected. Five years later, when I was certain that the same area was leaking again, I called the contractor back. He informed me that he was no longer under any obligation to make repairs. I contacted the parent company in Long Island and was referred to another installer from the area. He came over and inspected the room. He told me he had heard uneven reports about the contractor who did my installation. Sometimes he did good work; other times bad. The present contractor re-sealed all the seams, advised me never to pressure wash the exterior of the Four Seasons room, re-flashed the corner where the leaking was occurring, and assured me that there did not seem to be any structural damage.

Late last year, I noticed that the drywall on the interior of the wall, which had been causing me trouble, had water damage. The tape joint was peeling off near the window. I soon noticed that there was similar damage in an area on the first floor directly under this wall. When I removed the drywall (which was no longer dry) from the inside, I discovered that the studs and exterior sheathing plywood were rotted from water damage. I removed the siding, studs, adjoining roof shingles and the sheathing from both the side wall and the base wall under the Four Seasons modules. The damage was incredible and cannot be repaired without removing the entire Four Seasons structure, in my opinion. I am in the process of getting estimates to find out the cost of my mistake in buying this product.

The workers showed up late one hour and a half. They did not have the tools required to do the job and even borrowed a pencil from the homeowners. They did not insulate around the windows. Two windows were manufactured the wrong size. With three windows that go side by side, the grids do not match. There was one window sill damaged, damaged drywall around each window opening, and damaged wood frames. They were cut uneven and too deep. Gaps exist around new windows, which the company, Four Seasons, intends to fix with caulk. Carpeting was stained with unknown black substance and will not rub off.

The purpose of the new windows was for added insulation and to tighten up the house to minimize loss of heat and cold air. The work was not finished and they have to return a second day because the initial start time was 11:30 am. The job will not be competed because of the two wrong size windows. The workers were in the kitchen and in the bathroom several times throughout the process. We will have to hire a carpenter, painter and carpet cleaner and probably not receive the energy efficiency we expect. We believe in recycling and earth kind processes and at the same time have beauty around us to enjoy. The old way was more beautiful.

I purchased a Four Seasons Sunroom (in 2000) with glass roof and wood interior on the second floor, over a straight eave sunroom on the first floor, from Bondville, IL. I have had nothing but problems from the day it was finished. It is not attached to my home correctly. It is something I had to hire a contractor to reinforce since I would have to rebuild to fix this problem. The windows were not installed correctly, flashing problems, etc., causing me to have to replace all of the windows on the second floor sunroom. They allowed so much water to come in that the floor rotted out. I had a million ants crawling in the corner of the wall due to the wet wood. The carpet that I had just had installed is ruined from the black off of the rotting wood. The new windows cannot be opened because they will not line up to close them. It is a problem that evidently cannot be fixed either.

The first floor sub-floor was not installed correctly and a rep has had to come out and raise this 2-story structure enough to put a new piece of sub-floor in, and the door does not close correctly in front of this piece of floor. One of the windows in the first floor addition has never worked and the rep has not been able to fix it when he has made service calls.

As I write, I hear the water dripping in again! I call and try to get something done but the problems are mounting and I am charged for each service call and I live 90 minutes from the franchise. March 24, 2013, I walked out into the first floor sunroom and the southeast side was covered in water. I was on my way to church, so the only thing I could do was lay a bath towel down and clean it up when I returned home. The water poured in until the temperature lowered enough to cause the rain to freeze and the "inside" rain stopped until now!

I use these rooms. One is part of my bedroom and the first floor is my sewing room. I cannot have these rooms filled with water. I need these rooms to be watertight. I should not have to worry about what I am going to find when it rains and I am not home to catch it. This has been a problem for 12 years. I have paid for the addition and then paid for many service calls after. It's an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed. The room was not constructed correctly. I have had 3 contractors tell me the structure needs to be removed and rebuilt. I am afraid they are correct. I need someone to help me here!

It has been 2 weeks and I have not received my estimate. He also said the estimate would include fixing the vents at the top of the sunroom. It wasn't on the estimate. I mentioned that and he said he forgot and then opened the 3-part estimate and wrote it only on the 3rd part! He is the most dishonest salesperson I have ever met! It get even better. In speaking, it was all we had dreamed of for the last ten years, and finally we made our initial $5,500 deposit securing the start of the construction. "I just finished an $86,000 deal which came out beautifully." Then, my husband read some reviews, 59 to be exact, and all advised to run! We were distraught and flabbergasted and so concerned that we immediately called our trusted salesperson and requested he provide us with the address, a visual proof of that latest project to ease our mind.

The visit and transaction mentioned were on Friday, January 4, 2013. Day 1: The salesperson was happy and willing to provide all the necessary information, phone numbers, and addresses for us to feel confident and secure with our investment. Day 2: There was no information but many excuses; office’s closed, secretary did not come on Saturday, and there’s no way for him to find the addresses. There is, however, a lady in our area but no address. Day 4, Monday: I called the salesperson but he was not available. I left a message, and he later left a message about some lady from Palm Beach but no address. Day 5, Tuesday: There was no call back from the salesperson despite leaving another message.

Finally, I called and got a salesperson who is "on the other line" with an architect. I requested the address and phone number for any of these customers, and he angrily refers to the A+ that his company holds with the BBB (there are no reviews, good or bad, to be found in the BBB for this company, so no wonder the grade.) He then says, "I'll make it simple; get someone else to do your job!" We were able to cancel the deposit and thank God for saving us from Four Seasons Sunrooms! Run! This experience proved once again, it’s too good to be true!

We hired a local Four Seasons Sunroom Dealer/Home Renovator Contractor to add 4 dormers and a balcony to my home in early 2011. He started in April 2011 and completed the job 10 months later in February 2012. They took a very long time to complete the job and disappeared for weeks at a time to go do other jobs. So in the meantime, our house was torn apart and a mess. If I tried to call or email the builder, he would not get back to me for sometimes more than 3 weeks. When he did work, he sometimes would only work for 1-2 hours and then disappear for days or weeks. When I was able to confront him on this issue of taking so long to complete our project, he always promised to finish faster but of course never would.

In addition, when I contacted Four Seasons as a company and they reached out to him to talk to him about my issues, he was angry and defensive when he found out I contacted the company about his actions stated above. At the time of contact with the Four Seasons consumer area of the company, he had ignored about 5 attempts that I had tried to reach him and he had disappeared for about 3 weeks. I could not believe his reaction as I tried to explain to him that his work was taking way too long beyond the promised two months he said it would originally take. In the end, we had to live around his work mess in our bedrooms on the second floor of our home and chase him down for 10 months to finally complete the job.

Furthermore, the deck he built recently leaked against the side of the house and when I contacted him again to fix his warranted work, it took him 5 weeks to respond back to numerous calls and emails. When he did look at it finally, he said he would fix it. He dragged it out again and I ended up fixing the leak myself. The only thing he did was come out and deliver a metal stripping, and spent a few minutes placing it against the deck. He then completed an absurd act of billing me $188 for the part and labor. I had to spend a total of 10 hours fixing his mistake and then he completed the absurd act of billing me for his mistakes. I cannot figure out how someone could be so unethical and unprofessional with his actions.

The $800 loss I quoted is on the low end of what I consider my costs for materials and my time to fix his mistake on the leaky balcony. Sorry, but I do not recommend the local Four Seasons contractor in the Concord, NH area for any project for anyone's home. I will say the work he did complete was quality and done correctly, but the frustrations of dragging the project out for months at a time; no contact back when I called or emailed him with numerous messages; him getting angry with me for contacting his company franchise for help with resolving the issue; and the final straw of me fixing his mistake of a leaky balcony and then charging me for doing nothing to fix the problem makes this whole experience a definite complaint. My advice would be not to hire this person.

The parent company or other franchises are not bound by warranties from original installers. Your warranty is only valid as long as your installer is in business. I have been waiting for three years now for the closest franchise to come and resolve my problem. Now, after sending them my warranty papers, pictures of my leaking problem, and letters that I have sent to the company, they have sent me a quote for $3,500.00 to repair the problem having never been to my residence, and this I have to pay in advance. I bought the house with an existing Four Seasons Sunroom addition four years ago. The leaking in the sunroom started the second year. I called the service department of their branch office in New Jersey (the only number I could find on internet at that time) and left two messages indicating that I only needed some technical instructions so that I could try to fix the leak myself. Nobody called me back. So, I tried to fix it using silicone caulking. That's when I found out that the former owner had already had and tried to fix the leak problem in the past. Silicone caulking worked in one spot and leaking started happening in other places. Every time it rained, I had to place some container underneath the leaking spots. It had become a big headache.

During a spring home show earlier this year, I came across with their representatives from a local branch office in Long Island and was told that the Four Seasons Sunrooms actually have a lifetime warranty policy. They readily agreed to come to my home on the coming weekend to fix the leaks. I was very thankful and extremely happy thinking that there was finally an end to this headache. I was wrong. Someone from the Four Seasons called the following week and told me that they couldn't find my sunroom in their database and that the warranty policy doesn't apply to this sunroom.

I guess the lifetime warranty only applies when the sunroom is new. They did offer to send somebody to take a look at the problem but I had to pay a big fee for this visit. An alternative offer was to take down this one and build a new one. With what I had experienced, I'm no longer interested in any sunrooms and I'm pretty much done having anything to do with the Four Seasons. By the way, you can't get to talk to a live person in their local office by phone unless you know their extension because of a problem with their telephone system, which seemed never get fixed.

When the installers arrived, I noticed the windows they were installing weren't the same as the samples I had been shown, and were of a much lesser quality. When I contacted the company, they placed me in touch with the owner. He was very apologetic and offered to order what was specified. Instead, we chose to go ahead and go with the double pane windows instead of the triples at a discounted price. Had I not been there to oversee the installation, we would have been charged the triple pane window cost for the doubles that were installed. So far, the windows have been acceptable.

The siding, I can't give an opinion on as it is only half finished. The subcontractors they use keep making excuses and putting the job off. When I asked if they could send someone else, I received no answer, just another apology. Right now, it is April in Missouri. We are dealing with rain, heavy winds, and thunderstorms, and my mother's home is exposed to all of it. I fear this will all end badly. My advice is do the research into the products offered. Get all part numbers for what you are shown and make sure they match the bid. Get all warranty information up front in writing. Make sure the bid and all contracts they give you are legible, ours isn't. Make who ever you use submit their bid by mail. Mailing a fraudulent document is a federal offense. Find out if they use employees or subcontractors to do the installation. If they use subs, find out who is responsible for repairs, the company or the sub. Document...Document...Document.

In 1990, the internet did not exist as it does today and consequently, I didn't have the information which is on this site; otherwise, I would not have a Four Seasons sunroom on our home. Fortunately, we had a good primary contractor when our home was built and therefore the sunroom was attached to a sturdy wall and a good foundation with good hot water in-floor heating. Because of all these reasons, we have not suffered from many of the problems other Four Seasons sunroom owners have had. Nevertheless, our Four Seasons sunroom has been a constant problem for us. Right from the get go, the glass cartridges failed, usually two or three each year. We would have the local agent replace the units as they failed. Even though there was a warranty on the structure, Four Seasons never honored it, leaving the cost of glass replacement on our shoulders. Finally, we simply gave up spending good money after bad.

It is clear to me, from reading the other reports on this website, we have all bought an inferior product. Four Seasons does not deserve our loyalty. I certainly make a point of telling our visitors of the problems one can expect from a Four Seasons sunroom. You should do likewise and we could do everyone a favor ultimately putting this inept company out of business.

Our small sunroom has been partially installed and is unfinished now for 2 years. This is the worst experience we have ever had with builders. Do not use this company!

A nightmare since October 2009. The patio was finally completed in March 2010 and after 1 year, discoloration appears on the white eaves. Leak is going through light fixture. It's just getting worse. Every time I call the corporate, the lady in charge of the consumer affairs is out for the day. Living in Florida and still under a hurricane season, there are no measures taken to quickly fix the leak.

We purchased a patio room from Four Seasons on Knoxville about five years ago. Less than two weeks after the installation, the roof began to leak and we had water seeping in under the door frames. Mr Jim ** the owner, sent installers back out to add more caulking, but this did not address the problem at all. The roof continued to leak. He then decided that this was a drainage issue and therefore our problem, although we'd discussed drainage, location options, etc. prior to installation.

Two months after the installation, the outlets and ceiling fan stopped working. After Mr. Jim refused to address these issues and would not return calls, we hired a roofer and certified electrician to examine the room. We found that the panels had been installed incorrectly, the wiring was not up to code, and the tracks for the door/panels had actually been screwed through the wiring in places. Mr Jim finally offered to repair these issues for an additional fee. According to him, by having third-party service providers examine the room, we had voided our warranty. We also had issues with insects getting into the room because installers drilled holes for wiring and later decided to wire the room differently. They did not, however, patch or fill the original holes.

I filed a complaint with the BBB but it was never addressed or resolved. Consequently, when selecting providers, I completely discount BBB ratings as worthless. In my experience, accredited businesses tend to maintain high ratings regardless of their history/record. So, the distinction is worthless. I don't want other potential buyers to be duped by the company's outstanding BBB rating.

I paid over 10,000 dollars for this Sunroom and I have had so many problems with the room leaking water when it rains. It has damaged my wood floors, existing ceiling to the room, the ceilings have water coming down the sides when it rains. It is so cold in this room in the winter and very hot in summertime.

I notified Four Seasons Sunroom multiple times and the manager was so mad at me like I had done something wrong by reporting the problems with the room. I wish that I can get a lawyer to contact me and I can explain the situation better. Now I have insects, lizards, bugs etc. getting into the room now. When I tried to get in touch with Four Seasons Sunroom in Metairie Louisiana, I cannot get an answer.

The glass at the top of the Sunroom is about to cave in. The first week after they installed the Sunroom, it leaked big time with the first rain. I called them and they came and the next time it rained, it was leaking from another area. I have not been able to enjoy this room at all. I had to put a bifold door up dividing the Sunroom from the remainder of the house in order to keep the remainder of the house insulated, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I fully feel that they should stop installing Four Seasons Sunrooms and reimburse all the customers who purchased them.

This Sunroom has caused me to have an extremely expensive utility bills from the unstable temperatures in the room. I had paid other people to try and fix the Sunroom which still did not work. The floors are rotten from the water getting in from the top and the side walls.

Just barely 5 years ago we decided to add a sunroom onto our house. We went with Four Seasons, knowing of the name and what they do. However, since the room was done, we've had nothing but problems. For the cost of the room which was $35,000, it was not worth that much. I feel we've been taken and left with a room that is falling apart already.

Upon cleaning the room I noticed the wall buckled and had a wet spot. All the sheet rock has to be torn down and replaced since mold now has been growing. We've had leaks in the roof. They have come and repaired them, but to no avail, they are still leaking. The construction is poorly done and should not be leaking when it rains. The gutters also fill up with water. We are very disappointed with this company. I feel we were taken for the cost of the sunroom. With the price we paid, this damage to the walls should not have occurred. I would never recommend this company to anyone who is considering a sunroom. Thank you.

We had a Four Seasons Sunroom put on our house and we paid $20,000 for it. I love this room, however, about 2 weeks after it was put up, it began to leak! We made numerous phone calls to the local company. They would not return phone calls and did not follow through on things. They would come out and look around and tell us that it was condensation. So we tried to accommodate for the condensation (of which we were never told that condensation would be a problem or be this bad). We have normal humidity in our sunroom but it continues to leak. The general manager finally called us back after not getting what we needed by Shawn who oversaw the building. He was arrogant and a complete ** basically telling us that we are nuts, that these rooms don't leak.

We have called the NY corporate office several times as well, still waiting to hear back from them. Now, there is another leak and it is brown. The leaks have ruined my couch as there are water stains all over it that won't come out. We have had two separate construction people out here that believe that it wasn't sealed correctly when it was built nor was it caulked around the glass. This has been an utter nightmare. Do not have a sunroom built by these people unless you are fully aware of the consequences once it is built. They give you a load of crap about customer services and standing behind their product and it just isn't true! We spent a lot of money and we expect better service than we are getting. I have a beautiful sunroom that has to have towels all over the floor to catch the leaks, a ruined couch and fans and heaters in it to keep the humidity down! What a joke!

Goodman is (was) a franchisee of Four Seasons Sunrooms. We contracted in late October 2008 to have a sunroom remodeled to add a gabled roof and have interior and exterior refinishing of the sunroom. We were promised the work would be completed in five weeks. It took over six months and only after repeated phone calls. I have photos of what Goodman claimed was finished work, when it was obvious that the exterior work was not complete. We finally had a "finished" sunroom in May 2009. During the recent heavy rains, we discovered that the new gabled roof over the sunroom leaks quite badly, so much that we have contracted with a company that we used on another house (a company we trust) to have a complete new roof installed on this house. The flashing for the new gabled roof over the sunroom was never properly installed.

Goodman is apparently out of business as its phone has been disconnected. Part of the logo for Four Seasons Sunrooms is "Build the Best." Our experience reveals that Four Seasons Sunrooms franchisees do not build the best. We don't use profanity. There simply is no profanity adequate to describe our experience with Goodman and Four Seasons Sunrooms.

Three years ago, we contracted Four Seasons Sunrooms to build an addition to our house. They had to replace their general contractor three times during the building of our 288 sq. ft. room! They couldn't get approval because it was done incorrectly, so they had to send builders from New York to tear down the structure and start over. That was three years ago. The guys from New York were professional and courteous, much unlike the workers they have here in Texas. But once the New York workers left, the Texas guys here never completed the final touches. (The roof is not properly sealed and ants are getting in and eating the styrofoam roof. And the gutters have never worked properly. The rain just pours right over them hitting our glass).

Now, I just discovered that they never got the final inspection from the City of Austin from three years ago. So now, we cannot do anything else to our house until this is complete. I called San Antonio (they were the division that built the addition) and they referred me to Austin. Then Austin told me they couldn't do anything because they just deal with sales, so I called Jerry ** in Houston at 281-469-2400. The only thing he assured me is that nothing will be done in a hurry because he doesn't like dealing with inspectors in Austin! Can you believe that? Please help! I purchased a Four Seasons sunroom in August 1996. It is approx. 13' x 13' room. By 2008, 5 glass panels failed. There was water leakage/condensation inside of windows, waviness was visible between panes of glass. I wrote to the warranty co. & did not receive any response. There is a 20-year limited product warranty. So I called Four Seasons, Eric **. After about a month of trying to get them to return my calls, they sent someone, Mark **, to look at our glass.

Note we had one new extra panel of glass in our basement from when the room was built. We had young boys at the time & were afraid that a panel may get broken - assuming that this would save us in the future. The Four Seasons tech agreed that the glass panels in our room failed. He wanted nothing to do with the extra panel that we had. Next a salesman, Bob **, for Four Seasons came to our house & stated that our glass was no longer available & that we would have to replace every piece of glass in the sunroom for $16,000, no help or reprieve from our 20-year warranty. We have since replaced one panel from the glass we had in the basement. It looks great! We still have 4 panels of failed glass. The glass is PPG Herculite K, Azurlite H66 36" wide x 60 5/8" high x 7/8" deep.

The sunroom has been a constant source of leaks and mold growth since it was built in the last 12 years. The windows have recently been discovered to have a manufacturer’s defect. The sill, instead of being wrapped in aluminum during fabrication, has a seam of plastic and aluminum that has separated on all the 14 windows as a result of temperature and normal movement, opening up a gap allowing water to pour into the wood sill beneath the aluminum and plastic covering and rot the wood sills beneath as well as causing damage to the walls. It’s a real nightmare and is absolutely a mistake in the manufacturing process. I didn’t realize until the sills began falling apart on a couple of windows that the entire room was affected.

I have been ignored by all the company reps and dealers, but this is not just happening to me. I am sure it’s widespread and needs to be addressed. In addition, two of the windows are made correctly and completely wrapped in aluminum and have no problems at all. I have tried to caulk the open seams, but it is too late for that there is no wood left beneath them in some of the windows. Thanks for your time and I hope you can help. I was told these windows may have been manufactured by Vetter four the Four Seasons company.

I installed a $70,000 top of line sunroom from Four Seasons Sunroom in Summer 2007. In the beginning, there were few leaks, but the contractor for Four Seasons Sunroom in Los Angeles Ambiance Additions did a great job and repaired it right away and no further leaks ever since. This Summer (2009), I went on a seven-day cruise and upon return from the cruise, I discovered one of the side double pane glass panel's interior panel were shattered and spilled glass chips all over my sunroom. I called up Four Seasons and Ambiance Addition to question why the glass has shattered all by itself and learned there was a defect in some of the glass panel and it has happened to other people in the past too.

Four Seasons replied that all their glass panel has warranty against breakage and they will replace the panel at no charge, but I will need to pay $200 for freight collect to send it to my address for Ambiance Addition to replace for me. I sent the detail event to Four Seasons Sunroom to ask why a customer need to pay for anything for replacement of defective product. Brian ** of Four Seasons replied and refused and simply stated that it's written in the warranty and he will not waive the freight collect charge, so I will either have to pay the freight collect charge to have this defective panel replaced or leave with a broken panel in my sunroom.

I strongly warn against any future buyer against this product from this company. Who knows when my other panel will shatter by itself again and then I will need to pay for freight charge and installation charge ($340 waived this time by Ambiance Additions after strong protest). I do appreciate the fact Four Season's position to replace their glass panel at no charge against breakage, but to ask for freight collect for a defective panel that shatter all by itself is simply unreasonable. I will seek damage recovery from Four Seasons and a change to the warranty to have Four Seasons Sunroom to cover all freight and installation, if other panel shatter by itself due to defect in the future.

We purchased a single glass wall to enclose a patio area at a cost of over $14,000. At the time of purchase from their salesman, Walter **, we were deciding whether to pay the first installment by check or credit card and decided to pay by check. Nothing was said at that time that the price would be different for credit. We were also told at that time that the warranty would cover everything, including glass breakage if a rock was thrown at the glass. Before work began, Mike came to the house to talk about the installation. We informed him that we had a post tension slab that couldn't be drilled into and he argued that the patio area was not post tension, he could tell. A call to the builder while he was still there, confirmed that it was post tension and he said that they would come up with a way to mount it without drilling. We also spoke of how we wanted the glass configured. He told us that he would send us plans to approve.

When the plans came, they were not configured the way we had discussed. It was as if none of the discussion had been relayed to the designers. He dropped off a sketch of the footing and special brackets that they had come up with to mount on post tension slab. There would be a footing about 4" out and set below grade so that we could pave above it for a patio. Plans were finally corrected and approved by us. Before work began, we had to make a second payment and decided to use a credit card. At that time, we were informed that the price was higher for credit payment. It took much arguing to get them to not increase the price. Also, the original quote included a mini split heating/cooling unit with installation. We decided to tap into the house's main unit instead. When I called to find out how much of a credit that would give us, Mike told us that, given the extra cost of the special footing and brackets, it would be a wash. When he first found out that special attachment measures would be necessary, nothing was mentioned about additional costs.

As work proceeded, the footing turned out to be about a foot long and pitched in toward the house with extremely rough, bumpy edges that were at grade level. Cement contractors have looked at it and remarked about the shoddy workmanship. They also would have to jack hammer much of it out in order to put a patio above it and correct the grading issue. Mike has come out to the house to see it and offered no rectification of the problem. The room has constantly had bugs coming in and we couldn't detect where they were coming from - until yesterday. We had our first rain. The entire night was spent mopping up water which was coming in from just about everywhere! The sides of the wall which attaches to the house was a waterfall, the bottom corners had water streaming in and the patio door was dripping from everywhere. Monday morning we will be calling to see what they say but this should never happen in the first place if the installation was done correctly.

We went with Four Seasons rather than other companies which were considerably lower in cost because the claim to have a patented coating on their glass which, according to their brochure, keeps glass cleaner than ordinary glass. Don't believe it! This glass actually get dirtier than regular glass. When this was pointed out to Mike, he said that the glass only repels biological dirt better than regular glass. Not according to their own brochure! Besides all of this, Mike referred me to a cement contractor, who he said could take care of the footing issue. When the guy came, he told me that Mike had called him to tell him I'd be calling and had bad mouthed me to the guy. The contractor said that he had not found what he had been told about me to be true, that the work was shoddy, and that he felt we had been ripped off for the price we paid for the wall. My advice to everyone is stay far away from Four Season.

When we purchased the room, we were told it was going to be hurricane proof. When we purchased the room we were told the company did not do any electric work and that we would have to pay another contractor to complete the electrical for the room. We had a tile floor with heat coils installed that worked when the room was initially completed for a couple of times but after the water leaks began, the floor no longer works. The flooring company is blaming the sunroom company. The sunroom company claims that there is no way water could have damaged the floor. The electrician is blaming the sunroom company for the electrical not working. In addition, the owner of the Window Replacement Company has told us that they do have electricians who could have completed the electrical work. Phone calls are not being returned. Water is still leaking and now the drywall is damaged, mold is present. Everyone has been paid for their services and we do not have a safe or healthy all season addition to our home that we can use.

In addition, I just saw that there was a recall on a specific reflective glass that can cause fires when heated if near cedar shingles. We live in a cedar home! No one has contacted us about this. I happened to come across the notice while searching for this forum. We called the 4 Seasons Sunrooms’ corporate number last week and spoke to Maude at Consumer Affairs who was to contact Joe ** regarding our issues. Maude told us that we would hear back from someone, either her or Joe that day. It has been a week and we have not heard back from anyone. Our room still leaks water, the drywall is still damaged, mold is still present. The room still reaches over 100 degrees on a warm day which we were told the reflective glass would prevent this. Our sunroom has basically become a huge Petri dish for mold growth! We cannot use the room due to health concerns and if the door to the sunroom is opened, I'm wondering how many mold spores are entering our home. I would like this room taken down, all pieces taken off my property, have my deck put back to its original configuration prior to the sunroom install, have the cedar siding replaced where they took it down, have mold remediation services, be reimbursed for the floor, and be reimbursed for the room.

Well, I found it all to be baloney. These rooms are no more than an awning with windows attached. In the winter, we have to put up insulated panels over the space where the door and window used to be, because it is ice cold in there. Yes, even with vents run from the furnace to the sunroom. About the same happens in the summer except, of course, it's hot as Hades in there.

My electric bill has doubled to the dollar. I have seen no savings at all from buying this room. I have called them out here numerous times to repair all the leaks, and they referred me to a roofer. He came out and saw all the buckets we put out when it rains and admitted he knows about the leaks from others he had worked on. They promise you they'll come out for any leaks. They do come out, but can't stop all the leaks. It seems they're in a great hurry to leave because that's taking time from other jobs. They then attempted to hang a 600+ pound window on the second floor without the proper equipment/scaffolding and without enough manpower to properly lift one of the windows which resulted in the installers breaking the bottom frame of one of the windows.

Installers were only were able to complete the window install with the assistance of three electricians who happened to be on the job site installing electrical outlets. They never fastened the bottom of the window into the window opening which if undiscovered would have presented a safety hazard and possible injury or death if someone (or the window) was to fall out of the window opening. They used incorrect insulation and caulking around the window. They destroyed numerous plants and bushes while maneuvering and attempting to set windows. In 2002 we paid $44,000.00 for a Four Seasons sunroom. We thought we had done our research and were willing to pay for what we thought was the best. The room is now 8 yrs. old and has never been more than a couple weeks without a leak. Over 2 yrs. into the nightmare we did take a cheque for $2,280.00 for repairs to our roof which was water damaged due to the sunroom with the hopes that putting up new flashing and vapor barriers would finally solve the problem. By accepting this cheque we had to sign a release. The hoped for solution did not work and we now have 5 buckets going to catch leaks rain or shine. To make matters worse our floor is now showing water damage and is spongy under foot. Four Seasons response is, not our problem. Having dealt with who we thought was the best we expected better. What we hoped would be our dream room is now our nightmare. Having cost us $44,000.00 it will now cost us at least double to have this awfull room riped off our home and done properly. Four Seasons should tell their customers not to expect more than 8 yr. of use from their rooms.

We sent in our money as requested, paid ahead as a matter of fact, and when work started in august, we found that the company employes mexicans, who spoke little or no english, lounged around my backyard on their siestas, etc. After stopping construction when I noticed them putting the wrong roof on my room, and refusing thier attempts to get me to concede the fact that they made an error, they tore it down and started over. The sunroom, to this day, is still not complete...It leaks, it still has paper on the doors that the workers never came back to take off, the drywall has huge holes in it caused by the 500 lb. electrician they sent out, we are missing locks, screens, the cheap 1/4 luan they put on the underneath is warped and falling off, the outside light flickers like a strobe light and causes me migraines, so we can't even use it... I refused to pay them their last 10% until they fixed all the issues, which they did not, yet they took me to court for their money.... The judge refused to look at my evidence (pictures of the flooded floor, holes in the drywall, etc.) stated that he couldn't make them finish the job, but I was bound to pay the money because of the contract.

Our sunroom was installed in 2002 and had many leaks from the start. We had them come out numerous times and all they did was caulk the panels. After the warranty ran out, they refused to come back and fix the problem. Since the problem was from the beginning of the installation, the warranty shouldn't matter. It was never fixed from the start. We sued in 2006 and they agreed to fix the problem that the architect said was the problem. Turns out that the architect was wrong. The room still leaks steady and we have no resolve since we won our original lawsuit with full dismissal. Called Four Seasons and someone came out and looked at the room and said that all the panels had to be removed and re-caulked at a cost of $7000.00. Why didn't they do this from the start and why did we have to sue to get any action? I think they knew from the start that they should have removed the panels and re-caulked but wouldn't because of cost. I think they acted in bad faith from the start.

We als got a large amount of condensation and when we called them they said that is normal. As we looked behind the siding we noticed that there was no insulation and they charged us for insulation.

Water damage to the carpet and we had to take it out. Twice I had to replace sheet rock and insulation. We also have water damage on the studs and floor.

We purchased a sunroom in August 2006 Four Seasons of Orlando, FL. Three months after being installed it was leaking. Every since 2006 we have been calling and calling for this repair to take place. They always send a young man (Matt) out and he always insist that he has repaired the problems. In July 2009 they told me they will be sending Matt out ASAP but they were just extremely busy. Of course I have been told that they can not repair their sunrooms when it is raining. Apparently they can not repair it when the sun is shining either.

I have sent certified mail to Stephen and the Consumer Affairs office in Holbrook, NY. To date nothing has been done. Now the leaking is happening all over the room. For this to be a warranty for life product Four Seasons does not keep up the same spirit they have when they are selling this product. If I had to do this over again it certainly would not be with Four Seasons. This was an investment to add this addition on my home so that it can leak constantly.

Four Seasons continually promised to us that this buildout would take ten days or less and they were a big company who has a great reputation and they guarantee their sunrooms for life. So far our biuldout has taken over a month! The project is now deserted while we keep hearing that next week they will finish. This has gone on now for four weeks.

I called Maude in consumer affairs in New York and she was very flippant and also told me next week. That was two weeks ago. In the meantime we cannot proceed with any of this and every time it rains I get so stressed out trying to drain the blue tarp make-shift roof that we have.

We live in Austin and the builder was upset that he kept having to go to Austin to fix the blue tarp after all of our rains that he told me the subfloor was our responsibility to keep dry. How do I do that with no roof and no returned phone calls? The builders also left cigarette butts and loose boards with exposed nails face up all over our lawn and we have small children.

They trampled on our flowers and plants even with me constantly reminding them to be careful. I had even put chairs around the plants to protect them and they moved them away. They also dug very deeply too close to a very large red oak tree that we have and before I knew it they sawed off the root. When I went outside and got very upset with the men, they laughed at me and said that wouldn't hurt the tree. I said they should have consulted with me before they did that. I am hoping this big oak tree survives. It is big and beautiful and provides tons of shade in the summer and is probably worth thousands of dollars.

I wouldn't go with Four Seasons Sunrooms. Get a reputable local builder who will be around tomorrow. Four Seasons is around but doesn't return phone calls. They are not worth their added costs!

Possibly the large red oak tree in our yard was killed when the builders dug too close to it and sawed off the roots. We will see if this tree survives. There are also plants and shrubs that were trampled on and killed by the builders.

The Four Seasons sales team gave me the name of the only installer in my geography that was a licensed Four Seasons Sunroom installer. I signed a contract for a sunroom addition to my home to be on a second story.

The whole situation was a nightmare over five years time and ended up with me selling my home to escape any additional nightmares.

In a nutshell, the salesman told me the room came in two colors. Neither one was a good match for the home but I wanted a sunroom since I was young so I went with the brown color.

Several weeks later, before receiving the sunroom on site, I was looking at a catalogue and found it came in a third color which was what I wanted. I called the installer to tell them of the error. They gave me a very hard time but after many phone calls and discussions they agreed to change the color of the materials in my order. That became the least of my problems.

When construction started, I had to deal with several subcontractors hired by the installer. They were 'crooks' according to the installer's lead man and in fact, my sunroom leaked from where it attached to the home and ruined the new carpet in the sunroom. It took three roofing jobs to get the roof to stop leaking into the sunroom floor.

There were problems with electrical outlets and other issues which were very difficult to resolve.

The installer installed drywall where the room attached to the home that was crooked and full of air holes. I contacted Four Seasons and asked them to help me as they told me to work with this installer. Four Seasons, to their credit, did provide me with a small check to pay to have the work redone just so I could make my final payment to the installer and close out the contract.

The room was finished (18 months after the contract was signed).

Thirteen months later, I noticed a mushroom growing between the floor and the sunroom wall. I was concerned and called the installer. He told me that it was not his problem since the 12 months of guarantee was up.

I hoped it was an isolated event. After one year, however, the suspended Sunroom floor began to feel soft under my feet near the outside wall. After paying two different window repairmen, they said the sunroom windows were leaking and the leaking was occurring on the subfloor under the now laminated finished floor I had installed (when I had to get rid of the carpet due to the roof leaks).

I called the installer but they were out of business by now. I called the Four Seasons Company and told them that since they told me to use the installer that gave me nothing but problems, I was turning to them to find out what was wrong with the leaking windows.

After many months of haggle, they agreed to send an expert to my home to examine the windows. He did a walk around and said the problem was the window installation, not the windows. After more months of haggling, Four Seasons sent the expert back to my home to reinstall the windows.

At this time, the damaged laminated floor was removed to expose the subfloor.

The entire sunroom was taken apart and put back together (a cost I was told would have been $20,000 if I had to pay for it). Two weeks later, the windows leaked again on the subfloor. Four Seasons told me again, it was an installation issue (even though their expert installed the windows this second time).

I called everyone I could find at Four Seasons in desperation and finally talked to an engineer. He told a window installer at my home how to caulk the windows to prevent them from leaking.

Knowing that the only thing that is keeping the windows from leaking again is caulking and that most of the caulking is below the window unaccessible to the homeowner without taking the sunroom apart, I decided the only thing I could do to assure I would not have to pay $20,000 to repair them when the caulking fatigue sets in, was to sell the home. That's what I did. I sold my home after I spent 7 years remodelling it to be my final retirement home.

My lesson is that Four Seasons guarantees their windows. However, a leak is, from their point of view, always an installation issue.

The windows are of such a poor design that not even their installation expert could install them so they didn't leak.

They are only water tight because of gobs of caulking.

Needless to say, I tell everyone I meet to never, never, ever buy a Four Seasons Sunroom. It's my opinion that the windows are totally unfit for home use. The problem is made intolerable because the homeowner can't get to the areas to caulk without taking the room apart which costs thousands of dollars.

Back in 2003 we purchased a Four Seasons Sunroom, we spent about $35,000 on it so it wasn't a small purchase. It was completed in November and performed flawlessly until it snowed. When it snowed, it leaked like a sieve - we had ice forming on the inside of the structure and huge ice buildup on the outside. Thank goodness we hadn't yet had the pine flooring put down. In spring they fixed it, (or so we thought) they found that the gutter was misinstalled and was caused an ice dam to form. So we installed the floor. Winter 2004/05 it snowed again (pretty predictable in our part of the world, it does it every year in winter) and unhappily the sunroom leaked again.

There was so much water running through the strucure that the drain holes on the outside were continually running. The problem is that if water is continuously running and it's cold out (which happens a lot in winter) then it freezes. When it freezes it blocks the drain and then the whole structure fills up with water! Of course that water has nowhere to go except out of every crack it can find. We had the whole gutter down spout was encased in ice up to 4in thick. It took me a week to melt it using electric deicing cables. By the way, I now run deicing cables all winter - there was no mention of that requirement when they took my $35,000. Inside the sunroom we would have a wedge of ice from floor to ceiling that as it melts provides a steady stream of water which can flow over the floor and also underneath the new pine floor resulting in great black mould stains on our new floor from the water coming up from underneath.

Of course Four Seasons were kept well aware of the situation and they agreed to come back out in spring once everything had thawed. This time they determined that the sunroom was misbuilt due to poor instructions and a key seal had not had sealant applied. On a number of occasions they admitted that they had some issues with this designs performance in snow. So now, we think we are leak free, although it's a bit hard to tell as last winter was very mild with little snowfall. But how could that be the end of it, I still have my wrecked floor. Reasonable to think that Four Seasons (or should we refer to them as Three Seasons) would repair the damage? I thought so. They didn't and after having given me the run around for months (and they never reply to letters, ever - I think it must be company policy) the best they came up with was for me to claim on my homeowners insurance (one wonders what the Insurance industry thinks of this), and they refused to even pay my deductible!

Now, the actual cost of the new floor probably isn't that much, $1000 at the absolute maximum and probably closer to $500, way less than the profit that they made from me. To be honest, I could (and probably will) fix the floor myself, that's not the issue here. The issue is that I spent a boatload on money on something that did not meet it's basic required quality and the company does not stand behind it's own failings in delivering me the product.

During instalation the panels were installed wrong leading to an argument with the contractor, Jay. This issue could not be resoved before winter prevented construction. During the cold weather condensation started. The bottom four feet of the panels were covered with condesation that froze. The sliding doors were frozen shut and I could not open them. The floor had water standing up to 1 deep and out a foot from the walls.

My initial contact with Kim K was unproductive and they would not do anything to my Sun Room until it was paid in full, she said I had broken the contract and was not acting in good faith. I had already paid $17,000 and I held back $5,000 due upon final completion.Four seasons finally sent representatives to the house and they said it was my problem. I needed to add more heat ducts. The room has three heat registers and a cold air return. The room is 15 by 13 or 195 square feet. The cold air return was added on the advice from heating contractors, who indicated that there was enough heat and the cold air return would only make my furnace more efficient.

I added fans to circulate the air in the room with little effect. I added a thermostat that allowed the furnace fan to run constantly, as recommended by Bob B. The condensation remained , the electric bill went up. At this point the walls are covered in black mold. I have had no response from Four Seasons since August 2004.

I have spent $17,000 on a room I cannot use. The floor is starting to deteriorate. I am concerned about the black mold being a health hazard. My $500 worth of oak flooring cannot be installed and is in danger of being comprmised by warpage as it is stored in the garage. Furniture has been ruined by condesation drippage. During the winter when the doors freeze shut I have no emergency exit.

Only after I threated to call the Better Business Bureau does anyone indeed get back to me. This has been the case over and over. It's simply unbelievable.

In early October, when no work had even begun, I called the company to complain. With my threats of Better Business Bureau, Four Seasons sent a work crew out the next day to do the initial demolition of my existing porch. My wife and I thought, Wonderful! No way. They didn't return. They left a huge pile of dirt and aluminu m siting on my lawn, which will now have to be reseeded. When I called to complain they said the Township was holding up the issuance of the work permit. Four Seasons said they had called the Township several times and were put off. I called the Township at 10:50 AM. AN inspector was on my property at 11:00 AM (the administration building is one mile from my home). No problem. He said the permit can be issued immediately.

Why was I able to get it done in 10 minutes when Four Seasons had had 6 months and couldn't get it done? A work crew has been to my home one time since the initial demotilion. Again, that was because of my calling over and over. Today, November 2, I have no idea when I will see work really started. I left 4 messages last week. NO ONE has returned my calls. NO ONE. In the Spring of 2000 we noticed that one of the windows seemed to have condensation on it, it was actually in the window pane, it looked like the seal broke.

We called Four Seasons and they said they could replace the window for $350.00 but could not guarantee that the other windows wouldn't do the same. Sure enough the seal on the window that they replaced went the next year but so did several other windows. We decided that we would go to see them personally, the person we talked to I think her name was Melissa was very rude and after several months of pursuing them we got nowhere and finally gave up. Today as I look at the sunroom I decided to file this complaint. Since we last talked with the Four Season's People they have gone out of business and moved out of the area. How they ever talked the previous owners into this room I don't know.

All the windows in the room have lost their seal and it is like looking out at a fog. The windows have leaked onto the the blinds that are attached to the windows and have made uogy borwn stains. We can't even enjoy the view any more. It would cost and enormous amount of money to replace the windows.

I bought my townhome approximately eight months ago. Since that time I continue to have water leakage in the sunroom. Although the perpetrator was here twice in seven months and could not locate the source of the leak, my numerous calls to him usually go unheeded, or scheduled visits are not carried out. I do not receive a courtesy call at these times, therefore waiting all day in vain.

The few times that I have spoken with Mr. Greene he tells me it rains so often that there are not enough dry days in between for him to do any caulking. This is not the case as there have been many times between rainy periods that he could have worked. On that note, because of the frequency of rain, the damage in the room continues, and I am not able to use it. I truly believe that I have been more than patient, however I now feel very frustrated and pessimistic, wondering if Mr. Greene is simply waiting for the guarantee on his room to end at the end of this year.

The sunroom continues to receive extensive water damage to walls and wood structure. Furniture is ruined through dampness, and I am afraid the almost continual water on the floor tile will result in damage there as well. The painted walls of the structure show black, moldy stains in some areas with peeling of the walls. I am concerned with health risks because of the mold and dampness.
