My experience with this company was extremely disappointing. The movers packed my belongings, but then got stuck in my building’s active driveway. They unpacked all of my belongings from the truck, leaving them on the street and sidewalk for people and there pets to walk through. For 4.5 hours, no cars could get in or out of my HOA building, and I was subsequently charged for the inconvenience. In addition to this, some of my belongings were damaged. I had purchased additional insurance because I’ve had bad experiences in the past, but this situation was beyond frustrating. I also had a separate pile of furniture that I specifically requested to be left behind. Instead, the movers used my bed and entertainment center to try and get the truck unstuck—despite me having video evidence where I clearly told them that this furniture was not trash.

This situation has caused me financial strain, as I’ve had to replace major items due to the movers' negligence. I’ve been patient, providing the company with video and photo evidence, and even agreed to accept less than the total value of my damaged items to settle the matter. However, communication from the company dropped off completely. After numerous emails and calls, I finally received a response, but now, over a month later, the claims department is trying to justify the actions and extend the timeline to 6 months instead of the 30-day resolution I was initially promised. It’s unfortunate that FlatRate hasn’t taken the necessary steps to rectify the situation. I was hoping to leave a review commending them for handling this rightfully, but that has not been the case.

FlatRate did a pretty good job. They had to move a wall unit from New York to Florida. First, they had to put it in storage in New York for a certain period of time and then from there, move it to Florida. They broke it down to a thousand pieces. They took a very large wall unit and then unscrewed every screw on it. They made it look like a LEGO set down to the pieces it was created. When they brought it down to Florida, they left it there. They didn't do that just for the wall unit. They did it with the bunk bed for my kids. They completely broke it down.

At the end of the day, you had a bunch of screws and pieces of wood. Like LEGO pieces, someone had to put it together and when it came to my kids' bunk bed, they refused to do it. When I called FlatRate to bring it home, they said, "Oh, we operate with a local company in Florida, and they don't do it." I told them, "Then why did you broke it down to a thousand pieces? Who's gonna put it back?" So I had to call outside help in order to do that. They repeated the exact same thing with a twice as large wall unit. They broke it down to its pieces and someone had to put it back. Now, I created an issue for them and I said, "Absolutely not. We're not going through the same exercise. You broke it down, you put it back up. I don't care." Their local partners here in Florida were very kind. This was not their fault.

The fault is with the company in New York, the people who dismantled it completely. First of all, a piece of the wall unit is broken at the top as part of the move. The other people who tried to put it together were not quite sure what to do. The first time they tried to put it together, they did it their own way and the cabinet doors wouldn't close. The top part of the unit was way back. It was a mess. I had to call them back and they said, "Ma'am, you understand, we're doing a big favor to you. This is not our job." So I said, "Who's gonna do it?" They fixed it.

Some of the cabinets still don't close properly. But they refuse to put it together. It's a wall unit that had lighting and by breaking it down to pieces, the cables of the lighting were exposed. They're supposed to be inside the columns of the wall unit, and they didn't put it back. Those are still hanging from my unit. They did not do a good job. I'm very, very upset. If you're not in a position to put something back together, don't break it apart. Or they could have told me, "If I have to break it apart, but if I do, I won't be able to put it together." They need to tell the customer in advance and the customer can decide. They cannot surprise us like that.

The smaller furniture like the expensive dining chairs from my dining set arrived intact and very nice. Absolutely nothing was broken with the smaller items. From my China and my artwork, everything arrived safe and in one piece. My TVs also had no problem. They were great. I was happy. But when it came to larger items that they had to break down, I'm still going through the nightmare. Both huge pieces were damaged. There are holes in both of those pieces. I have to call a local carpenter to see what they can do to hide the scratches.

Every person they've sent me has been fast and efficient. I have a designated person that's assigned to me. If the app doesn't work, I would call the number and let them know that I'm moving from this place to that place. They would ask how it would go upstairs and if it's a certain type of building. They would let the person know that's assigned to me then they would call me back within 20 minutes. My furniture has never been damaged. When they bring your furniture, they make sure they wrap it up tightly. They bring the necessary equipment and make sure that they don't damage your walls. They assembled my bed at one point which is something you can pay for.

I wanted a service that did both packing and moving because I had a really bad experience packing when I did it for myself the last time I moved before this. I hated it. It was just so much work. I saw FlatRate Moving and another company. I eventually went with FlatRate mainly because I was comparing quotes and they gave me the better offer. I did a double move because I had to move my stuff in storage. I wanted to get under a rent cycle with my friends. So, we did a month where I was subletting. So, the first move was into FlatRate's storage. Then the second move was out of storage to here.

The move into storage went a little smoother for me. I feel like they were running late to move out of storage when I moved here. But at the end of the day, it all went fine. They got there at 9 AM when I was moving out. They packed everything. I didn't have to do anything. It was really nice. It was a good experience overall. Nothing's broken, and all my stuff came. I didn't have a panic attack. So that was always a good thing. There were no hidden fees, too.

Before the move was done, it was well-handled . The movers got there in time. I had two pick-ups, one for my storage unit and another for my apartment. They took too long in the apartment so I left the money. Ultimately, they ended up losing a bag with new items. I had bought some designer clothes during Thanksgiving that were worth $2,000 retail. I needed the clothes in December as I was going for a week-long event in Africa. I gave them instructions as to how to unpack into my new apartment because I wanted to be able to count my packages. But they did not follow instructions. I moved from a studio including a locker into a two-bedroom. I've moved at least 10 times in my life and it shouldn't have taken more than five hours, but it ended up taking over eight.

When they unpacked, it wasn't properly unpacked, and I could not figure out what was missing. Three days later when I was looking for my stuff to pack for Africa, I noticed the only thing that was missing was a suitcase. I texted the drivers for them to check their van. They said they didn't have anything. I called the office, and they told me to file a claim.

I spent $5,000 to replace what were lost because I couldn't show up without the stuff. I was going to an event that has dignitaries in there that was why I spent so much money. I traveled to Africa for eight days, came back the 31st of December and filed my claim then. They ended up giving me $300 for retails at over $2,000 plus another $5,000. The day FlatRate told me they were gonna issue a check, the maintenance guy in the building showed up and said somebody brought the clothes they had taken. When I asked him who gave it to him, he refused to tell me. I will never use FlatRate again. They are the worst moving company and my experience was horrible a. It was a month of pure chaos.

We do a lot of business with FlatRate Moving. We're getting ready to call them for another project that we have going on for our Staten Island office. Our account representative is Zuleika. She's been very good to us for the past three years. I control operations throughout our organization. When it comes to finding different vendors, I like to shop around and compare rates. I compared FlatRate to other moving companies. The cost was fine, especially the fact that they service all five boroughs where we're located, which was another plus for me. The turnaround time in terms of when we can get things done was awesome.

We're an agency for family courts. We have offices throughout the tri-state area. We're always looking to either expand or minimize certain offices and we have a lot of office furniture. FlatRate came into place when we went through the pandemic and we went remote. We had to do a lot of downsizing. We had furniture from one office to another. It was us finding a vendor that does transfers for our office furniture. Once everything was signed and we got our COIs in place, we were able to go ahead and get things moving. They're very fair in terms of the service and pricing. If something doesn't work, they try to do their best to accommodate us. They're good.

A very poor, obnoxious customer service experience. Shockingly poor service on my delivery. The service I have received has left me wanting to look around for other options in the future. Please do that first before using FlatRate. Just so you are aware – On the 11th July we received an email asking if we were ready for a delivery. My business partner, who lives very close to us both in UK and in Florida, received his crate the next day. I assumed I would be on the same delivery. Nothing. No message. Nothing.

On the 13th July, we received a message from A*** stating new delivery window of 21st July – 26th July. He kindly agreed to let me know a day and a time before that week started. Before that week started, I stated that the only time I couldn’t make on that week would be 25th after 5p.m. Monday 22nd – I received an message from ***m stating that delivery would be between 25th and 27th. I confirmed but reiterated my point above. No reply to this point.

Wednesday 24th – told that delivery would be on 25th between 2p.m and 7p.m.. Confirmed my point about 5p.m. onwards but this was ignored despite chasing. Thursday 25th 2p.m.– received an obnoxious call from Carlos (delivery manager) stating that if I didn’t accept delivery at 5p.m I would be charged for storage. I stated my points above about asking not to receive goods after 5p.m., he didn’t care. He said that is the deal, take it or leave it. He said I agreed to be in all day for the entire week - just so you all know what they expect on a delivery window week!

I called your customer services. The man stated that he would sort the problem and don’t worry, I am in the right hands. He would come straight back to me. I called him, left a message and emailed. NOTHING. Customer ‘service’ seems a loose term over there it seems. Thursday 25th 5p.m. – the driver calls me to state he won't be with me until 8p.m. Thursday 25th 1040p.m. – the driver arrives with all of our crates. He doesn’t leave (not his fault – he was the only good contact I have had and certainly a step up from Carlos), until 1240p.m. We were expected to be up and check all the boxes off the list and ‘be around’ until all had been done and the bed rebuilt.

But the crew for the other two moves were great. Knowing that moving is an ordeal and a horror, FlatRate is probably the least of the evils.

FlatRate Moving's quote was a bit high, but they brought all their materials and they had some insurance policies. Their customer service is also good. So I was confident that people get what they pay for when they move to a certain extent. We've recommended FlatRate Moving and had friends used them as well with good experiences.

Everyone was super nice and helpful. They were very polite, professional and made it all very easy and clear. Overall, I had a great experience, and I couldn't recommend FlatRate Moving enough. A move is supposed to be carefree (I had enough stuff going on), and it was exactly that.

FlatRate Moving was recommended by a co-worker and I had also used them before. Recently, I had them pack up my apartment then move to a new apartment about a mile away. The process was very easy. I went online, filled out a form and someone was in touch with me quickly and set up a video call to see the inventory of my last apartment. I got a quote the next day. There was one guy who was the main one in charge who was communicating with me. He was trying his best, very communicative and somewhat apologetic because some of the other guys on the crew were very new. It took them a really long time to move everything and things were packed in a strange way. They packed up potted plants that have soil in boxes with other things then the soil built on some of my belongings.

I like the simplicity of being able to book FlatRate Moving. They have a fairly good rate and every time I book them, it's always a seamless process. I let them know of my interest and they respond with an email and a phone call asking a few questions about what all I have to get moved. They provide a quote shortly after that and from there, we schedule a date. Sometimes there would be things that are tough to move, but they always are super professional. They always wrap all the stuff well. I've just scheduled a new move with them a few days ago, and it's always easy to go back to them.

FlatRate was good when they moved me before and they were good recently as well. They move your stuff and don't damage it like what you want in a moving company. The quote was about what I expected to pay.

FlatRate’s crew was attentive and packed everything nicely. The guys who moved the space were efficient and their pricing was nice. One time, they broke something accidentally and they had a carpenter in the very next day to repair it and it was good as new. I recommend FlatRate all the time and tell friends to use them.

Scheduling the move was easy and dealing with the crew was very professional. They were helpful. I use FlatRate all the time and I’ll keep using them. I've recommended them also to a client who moved from Georgia to New York but they couldn't accommodate.

We used FlatRate 17 years ago for our first big move and it was just a matter of the quotes we received. Then we used them multiple times after because we had stuff in storage with them and we had a relationship with the guy who was giving me the quotes. It became a thing easier to go back to and we've never had a problem until this last move. They quoted us for a move in one day and they ran so late that the move had to go into a second day. We were getting into arguments with our building. The reason the move went late was because they showed up late. They didn't listen and there was a lot of stuff that was damaged.

I did the move from 95th street to a storage in the Bronx. Everything was fine. I've been using FlatRate for years. This is all for work. So I use them once a month at least. They're fine. I have a good relationship with Adam. He's great. I really like him. He's very helpful.

I move a lot so I've used FlatRate a few times. I've also used other movers but I kept coming back to them because they are the best. The price is usually good. The rep that I work with is really special. She's very good. The moving crew is always really nice. It's a really stressful thing no matter how many times I do it, but they make it as easy as it can possibly be. They're very professional and careful. I love that they don't mess up my walls. They're just really good at it.

Hired them for a move. Was not told about any insurance options over the phone which is terrible customer service. Rushed to signed emailed documents for the move. On the day of the move it was unorganized and afterwards found that one of my flat screen tvs screen was damaged in the process and is a total loss. Contacted them and went through claims department after a month they sent me a pathetic $120 for a $700 TV! Do NOT do business with them! SCAM.
