I purchased my Farberware 12-cup percolator in August of 2008. It quit working in April 2009. Farberware offers no repair service or returns. I found a company in Illinois that will fix it but the cost is $35 and with shipping to & return, it will cost more that the percolator cost. If I had read the other complaints, I would not have purchased this pot.

We had the same exact problem as Bill of Bartlett, TN (11/14/08). The pot was accidentally boiled dry on the stove (Years ago, this happened with a stainless steel pot of another brand and the red hot pot was rushed to cold water in the sink without any damage). When I noticed the Farberware pot, I quickly grabbed it and swung it over to the kitchen sink faucet - causing red hot liquefied aluminum to fly all over the kitchen. This destroyed our new floor! This is an unsafe and irresponsible design. I was very lucky not to be seriously injured, or to burn down the house as a result. The pot does list a warning of this possibility. In fact, the pot is identified as stainless steel with a copper bottom. I had no idea the pot contained aluminum - as I never would have purchased it!

The problem is there is no accountability for products at Farberware. There's no one to answer consumer complaints or no way to contact them! I have a can opener that fell apart when I used it the first time. It cost $6.50. I can go back to Wal-Mart to get a refund but that is not the point. Why should any consumer be subjected to such faulty products and have no recourse!? Why should I have to drive back to the store and complain to them? Farberware should be held responsible for these faulty products. Read the consumer complaints online. It is a nationwide display of faulty products by Farberware. Someone needs to ban Farberware from selling faulty products. Thanks.

This is the second Farberware Electric Coffee Pot that does not work well. The coffee is the color of weak tea and is just lukewarm when it is done. It's not drinkable at all. Both of them had the same trouble. I got the last one as a Christmas present so it is quite new. I am an 84-yr-old widow and cannot afford to keep buying these pots. Can the heating element be fixed somewhere? The stainless steel coffee pots are 2-12 cups.

I recently used a Farberware Meat Thermometer inserted in the thickest part of an oven stuffer roaster chicken. The chicken was baked as usual with an oven setting of 350F for about 2 hours. When I opened the oven door to inspect the chicken, I noticed that the glass window of the Farberware Meat Thermometer had shattered into hundreds of shards of glass. The sharp glass shards shattered into the chicken, vegetables and bottom of the oven. This episode ruined our chicken dinner, which I had to discard! As a result I had to purchase prepared food at a nearby caterer to feed my guests. I had used the same Farberware Meat Thermometer many times before without incident. Apparently, this particular Farberware Meat Thermometer is defective. I would like to know what consideration Farberware can offer to compensate me for my out of pocket costs and additional trouble to clean up the broken Farberware Meat Thermometer glass shards on the oven floor?

Someone from Farberware called me and stated I must have used high heat and it's not under warranty and I should have taken it back to where I bought it. She just blew me off. Farberware skillets are not cheap. I hang my skillets and never use metal utensils or sprays. Am I nuts or don't companies back their products anymore. I purchased my farberware mixer a few years ago and paid about $100.00 for it. I went to turn it on to mix a cake and sparkes flew out the side of it. Needles to say it does not work. I started searching on line as to who to contact and nothing. I came across this web sight and thought I should also complain about not being able to get in touch with Farberware. It's a good thing my kitchen didn't go up in flames.
Well I now have to puchase a new mixer and this type does not come cheap. The free standing kind that has two size mixing bowls as well as two sets of beaters. It was suppose to be a heavy duty mixer that you could even make bread dough with. I just used it for cakes.

My granddaughter gave me a Farberware 4-cup coffee perculator for Christmas. I was really pleased because my mom and dad always had a Farberware pot. I had only used it about 10 times and the knob on the top of the pot came off. I've read complaint after complaint regarding this pot. Needless to say, as with everything I buy today, it was Made In China!
On the bottom of the pot there is a little sticker that says Q.C. I am assuming this stands for Quality Control....well, baloney! I wrote to the company and they said that China makes that particular product according to their (the companys) specification. I told them they better get a better quality control person.
My husband was able to rig up a knob for the top with a cork, so for right now it is doing the job, but we don't know for how long.

Jay sent us a copy of a letter to the Attorney General of Pennsylvania. It echoes other complaints we've received. Excerpts appear below:
Dear PA Attorney General Mike Fisher,
Farberware is one of the nation's oldest and largest manufactures of pots and pans. If you need factory service on Farberware cookware manufactured before a certain date, there is only one place in the USA to go: the Farberware authorized factory service center in Berwick, PA, also known as All American Lighting, aka Berwick Lighting, 335 S Poplar St., Berwick PA 18603, and its principal, Mr. Frank Bedosky (570-759-1078). I have been defrauded by Farberware Home Products, but more importantly, there appears to be a pattern of ... consumer abuse ... occurring at this company, and I am just one of hundreds affected by it.
In my particular case: My wife and I own Farberware's top of the line Millenium cookware, which carries a lifetime guarantee. The cookware has failed (and from many accounts, this happens routinely), the nonstick coating has flaked off, gotten into our food, into our stomachs, making the pots unsafe to use. To repair the pots, whether you live in Alaska, Florida, California or Maine, you must send your pots prepaid to Berwick PA.
In my case, I sent on 1/23/01 a box of 4 pots for repair. The package was received on 1/25/01 at 2:56 p.m. and signed for by F. Knorr. Before I sent the pots, I was told repairs would 8 weeks, itself outrageously long. It has now been 15 weeks and I do not have my pots back. Each time I call to inquire about my pots, the story is a different one, but always with a common theme: your pots are not ready. Why is this significant?
1. About 40,000 consumers a year must deal with this repair facility, according to Bedosky. (I do not know if all of these people have failed Farberware cookware, but if so, it suggests a proactive product recall might have been in order). While Farberware Home Products has your pans, you can't cook. Since January, my wife and I have been unable to fry an egg, make an omelet, make my daughter a grilled-cheese sandwich, heat soup, or boil water for pasta or oatmeal. We have missed Valentine's Day, Passover, and Easter and lost the opportunity to cook dinner on 105 consecutive nights.
2. Once a consumer (sends a product to Bedosky), he/she has no place else to turn. There is no Farberware parent company to appeal to. There is no Farberware President, or Vice President of Customer Service, or Consumer Relations Department. There is just an enormous ... void, left by the creation of series of shell corporations, such as Lifetime Hoan, of Westbury, NY, and Syratech Corporation, of East Boston, MA, each of which apparently has acquired the right to profit from the Farberware name, but not the obligation to honor the Farberware warranty, nor assume any responsibility for the thousands who are apparently eating poisonous, nonstick coating for dinner.
So, the consumer's fate rests with Mr. Frank A. Bedosky. When repairs are required, he doesn't make them. When refunds are due to consumers, he refuses to send them, and then, once he does, the checks bounce. (See attached).
In my last phone conversation with Bedosky, at 10:21 am on 4/24/01, Bedosky told me that I would absolutely positively have my pots and pans back in my hands by Tuesday, May 1. I told him at that time, on that phone call, that if I did not receive the pots back by May 1, I would take it as evidence of criminal fraud, and I would contact the Pennsylvania Attorney General. Naturally, the pans did not arrive on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and they did not arrive today the 7th. I gave Bedosky a full week of grace before writing this letter. Yes, I want my pots back - but that is now the least of it.

An 8 qt. Farberware pan purchased Feb 1994 split through the metal from the rim down about 2". I contacted Farberware re their warranty and was advised to return it to Berwick Lighting. This was sent back UPS and signed for by C. Bartlett at Berwick on November 22, 2000.
On March 21, 2000 I contacted Berwick as to status and was advised that a check would be issued for $59.60 in the next few weeks. On March 21, 2000 I contacted Berwick and talked with "Frank" who advised they are behind and he will send it "today"! On April 3, 2001 I contacted Berwick and Frank advised that the check had not gone out, but I would see a check sometime before Easter. Easter was April 15, 2001, no check.
Today while checking Berwick on the internet your Consumer Affairs.com article re Kelly of Seaford NY and her problem with Farber came up. I thought I was reading about myself at first. I have written today to Farberware Products in Westbury NY as you advised her to do, asking that Farberware either send me the $59.60 plus shipping of $7.14, or please send me a new pan. I really do wish that the check come from Farberware, as Kelly's check came from Berwick and bounced costing her $15.00 bank charge, and the last part of her report stated she had still not received a replacement check from "Frank" at Berwick

In January 2000, I had a Farberware pot that was approximately seven years old. One day I discovered the side of the pot was cracked in half. The entire pot set has a lifetime guarantee/warranty.
I contacted Farberware, was advised to mail in pot. About one month later I received a letter from this Berwick lighting company in Pennsylvania, saying that they purchased Farberwares warranty department and were going to evaluate my pot. About one month after that I hadn't heard from them so I called and was told by Connie that I was going to receive a check for $59.60 for the value of the pot.
One month later I had not received the check, contacted Connie again was told it was on her desk and she was going to mail it today. Well, I called Connie once per week all summer long, it was almost comical ... it was always on her desk about to be mailed.
Finally in October I received the check, and it bounced. So, now my bank charges me $15.00 for the bounced check. I call Connie again, she tells me she miscalculated and would send me a new check for $74.60. A week later I called to say I still was waiting, I was told Connie doesn't do refunds anymore. I could speak to Frank the owner. He tells me the check was mailed on 11/11 and I should receive it any day, today it is November 26 and I still haven't received check.
Farberware ... gee, that's a name you don't hear much anymore. We know they're still in business though because they just recalled some fondue pots. Kelly should write to Farberware and demand satisfaction. They're not far from Seaford. Address below.
