I bought a brand-new washer and dryer and it never worked. It was a lemon and they never honor their warranty. We eventually bought new ones somewhere else. I would never ever buy Electrolux product ever again.
We have an Electrolux dryer for less than 2 years, and it started to make a weird noise, when we contacted the company they simply refused to send a technician as part of the warranty! My advice; stay away from this company or any company that can't stand behind their products and takes responsibility when something goes wrong. It is bad when an appliance breaks after so short time but it is way worse when the company leaves you high and dry rather than stepping in be accountable for it. Simply disgusting!
UPDATED ON 02/15/2023: This is an update for a previous review. I've had 3 service techs come to work on my washer and it's still not working. The last one ordered the electronic board that controls the motor that spins the drum and the motor. Received the board but not the motor. Called twice to A&E Factory Service and was told that the board had shipped but they couldn't provide any info on the motor, the 2nd time was told it was on backorder. Ended up calling the manufacturer and they had the part. A&E never bothered to contact the manufacturer to see if it was available from them. Well, it was. These 2 entities don't talk/communicate with each other. They keep blaming the other and shuffling me back and forth.
ORIGINAL: Did some research before I bought a new washer. Thought Electrolux was a reliable brand that the company would stand behind. I was wrong. It never would spin like designed. Left clothes wet enough that I could hand wring out. Repair tech didn't listen and tried to convince me that the problem was the water pump. He replaced it and it did not work any differently. Tried calling Electrolux to get them to stand up and back their product but just got the runaround. 2nd tech came and diagnosed the motherboard was bad. A&E Factory Service tried to order and it supposedly was back-ordered. I called Electrolux just for them to tell me that they had parts and were waiting for the repair company or the customer to report a problem before they would help. That's not customer service more like customer self-service. Been 2 months and still not a working washer.
Between a refrigerator and a washing machine; both made by Electrolux, and both failing a few months after the warranty expired, I have come to believe that Electrolux deliberately designs their products to fail just outside the warranty range. I strongly recommend that everyone stay away from the garbage that Electrolux sells.
Bought an Electrolux efls627 washer 2 years ago. The main bearing on the tub is already going. Owned LG and Samsung and the bearings went out in 5 years and I thought that was bad. Bought this due to good ratings. Not good for longevity or reliability. Really cheaply built. Most washers now still use clamps to retain hoses so they stay in place and don't leak. Not Electrolux they use wire ties. So you have to cut them off and buy new wire ties to take hoses on and off. The Samsung and LG front load washer had balance weights that were metal or a really hard composite of cement and some kind of resin. Not this crappy Electrolux. It has a poor quality of cement. You have to be careful taking them off while disassembling the washer for fear they will crumble. I bought the washer because it was highly rated. That was due to features and hype.
Don't buy this thing unless you want to replace it in 2 years. Replacing the tub bearing requires buying the rear tub assembly. That part costs around $400 (I got an open box off of eBay for 250). But if you had a repairman do this, the part would cost at least $400 and the repair labor would likely be over $200. So you are paying over $600 dollars to repair a washer that is only worth $800. So unless you want to Spend at least $800 dollars every two years don't buy Electrolux. By the way. Working on this thing is horrible as well. This thing is the biggest ** I have ever seen. Makes me certain I will buy LG the next time. Oh, and they mix SAE and metric to make it even more fun.
Our brand new top of the line dryer keeps letting lint get pass the lint trap, creating a fire hazard. Called Electrolux customer service and they sent A&E Factory Appliance Repair to fix it under warranty. A&E ordered some parts and replaced them on the second visit (this did not fix the problem). I then received two bills from A&E for $500. I called Electrolux and said "hey you guys scheduled the repair, it's under warranty, why am I getting bills?". Electrolux said "No problem, we called them and paid the bills, you're good." A month later I get debt collector letters from A&E for the service. I called Electrolux and they said "Well those repairs aren't under warranty, sorry we lied to you, the person on the phone gave you the wrong information." They wouldn't make it right and kept arguing that lint getting past the lint trap is a cosmetic issue. Both A&E and Electrolux are awful to deal with. Stay away.
I purchased 1 1/2 years ago a brand new washer and dryer from Electrolux. The wash machine started rusty looking water and sound like a plane was landing. I picked this wash machine due to it supposedly being quiet. We luckily had an extended warranty, but I am still waiting 2 1/2 months for it to be fixed. The serve man has been out here twice. Once to diagnose, and a 2nd time to fix. When he went to fix the machine with the replacement part, the main tub is defective. I am waiting for the FedEx slow to deliver another new tub. I would NEVER recommend Electrolux or purchase another one. I have always had Maytag and never this issue. The money I have lost having to go to the laundromat while I wait for parts is adding up. Their support is not helpful or understanding.
Washer motherboard was never right even when the washer was new. It randomly switched settings. It finally broke down and we saw nothing but E-11 error messages. Electrolux platinum warranty is garbage - we'll have gone a month without a functioning washer. Communication from Electrolux is garbage - they cancelled our appointment without any notification since they thought the parts had not arrived. They rescheduled it another week out. They will put their responsibilities to you - asked me to remove the dryer from our stackable unit. It's a platinum warranty and I need to do the labor? Seriously? Customer service is a joke. Stay away - or stock up on quarters for the laundry mat, save up your time away from work to wait for the appointments and subsequent anonymous cancellations and hit the protein shakes so you don't throw out your back unstacking the dryer.
After careful research, we purchased an Electrolux washer and dryer to replace 20 year old Maytag units. This was a huge mistake. After just over one year, the washer sounds like it will explode during the rinse cycle. It leaks rust into the tumbler (ruining laundry) and it leaks onto our floor. The service agency assigned by Electrolux reports that the entire tumbler and inside components need to be replaced, and would not guarantee that the washer would operate properly. We are still trying to get Electrolux to step up and stand by their product. After 2 months, we still do not have resolution. Our advice is to steer clear of this brand and its products.
We bought top of the line Electrolux Washer and Dryer. Neither lasted more than 5 years and that’s having multiple repairs. They are expensive and poorly built. I would not recommend these appliances to anyone. I threw them away instead of giving them so another family wouldn’t waste their money. Horrible!
1st brand new dryer stopped working after first load. No warranty service available for our area so Electrolux replaced with a new dryer. Second one making awful grinding noise. Both installers looked at each other and said "I guess this one doesn't work either". Now have to request a third? Would rather have my money back and buy something else.
I inherited the Electrolux perfect steam dryer when I bought my home in 2018. This thing was always loud but it got to the point that you couldn’t even hear the TV in the other room and it would bang around. I had a repair man out who showed me that a ton of lint built up inside and causes the thing to run off balance. It’s important to note that I clean the lint trap with every cycle and this still happened. I do have 4 children so I do a ton of laundry. It was working perfectly for 3 months and now the noise is starting again. I am so upset that I’d have to pay another $300 to have this thing serviced again after only three months. The entire machine needs to come apart to do this.
This is a horrible flaw and because my units are stacked, I’m likely looking at having to replace both of them now. The washer is okay. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it. It does get build up easily and you have to wipe it out after every use to keep this down. I had Whirlpool at my previous home and owned them for 10 years without one issue. I will never purchase Electrolux.
Received our brand new Electrolux washer and dryer and the dryer made a clunking noise right when we got it. Electrolux offered to have it fixed but wouldn’t be for 3 months (and the sound is really loud when running so very annoying), Costco offered to replace the unit so we did that. Just got the new one today and it does the exact same thing if not worse. Now it’s going to be another week until we get a new one again and I have a feeling it will do the same thing. Seems like the side of the unit gets a bit dented in during delivery and then the drum scrapes against it.
It is impossible to clean the holes and grooves in the gasket and the part of the drum I can reach. I am retired. I would need the grip strength of an acrobat to pull the gasket out enough to clean it and it is impossible to clean all the small holes with a Qtip although that's our only recourse. We have tried various cleaning products with minimal success. I have pictures of Qtips covered with black mold and/or soap residue. Finally there is no provision in this washer to trap pet hair. It is necessary to pull back the gasket and clean it with a cloth. Our clothes smell moldy once they are dry. The Qtips come out black no matter how many times we have cleaned this washer. Large items like bed sheets come out in a knotted mess.
Ordered part for my new, two month old dishwasher machine, a machine that was broke down and was told that this part is out of warranty! Only two weeks old dishwasher machine!! I paid online and service guy promised to deliver the part in one week, I called in one week, the part was not even in warehouse yet, promised in one week more, called again and service lady sent me to wait for more than two weeks from now! Everyone who answered to me lied. I am shocked by the service of this company!
My Electrolux dryer is relatively new…Approx. 3 1/2 yrs. I like the machine but the control board and “door closed“ switch failed. It’s a pricey repair....Doesn’t anything last anymore? I hoped this product would be different. Model # EFME617STTO
I purchased a Electrolux washer & dryer pre Covid. After 6 months Lowe's agrees to deliver and set up. Hardly another 6 months lapsed when mold blackens the door bellow despite following Electrolux recommendation. Continued to worsen. Electrolux support say ''just out of warranty'' - your problem now. I wish I kept the old Kenmore.
Terrible experience!!!! I am very, very disappointed with the breakdown of my Electrolux washing machine purchased from Home Depot in Newmarket Ontario Sept 2021. Three months after purchasing the washer, the internal filter clogged up. I had to call a repairman in to open up the machine to clean the filter for me. All other machines have the filter accessible by the home owner on the front of the washer. This is a serious design flaw. The dryer also has a design flaw in that small items get stuck on top of the filter, stopping the exhaust. This stops the exhaust air and the clothes don't dry. This is a serious design error. The newer model has a sloped filter so the clothes aren't trapped. But the washer has been the most problematic. After five months, the washer door locked at the end of a cycle and could not be opened. But the message was "Close Door."
The earliest appointment for a technician from the Electrolux authorized service tech was 3 weeks later!!! The wet clothes stayed in the dryer until the tech came to unlock it 3 weeks later. Most washer door locks can be overridden by a simple release in the front mounted filter door...NOT ON THIS WASHER. This is another serious design flaw! The authorized technician replaced the door latch but said that the code indicated that the electronic control board needed replacing. He put it an order. ANOTHER 3 WEEKS passed before the part came in!!! He returned and replaced 2 control boards and promised that this seemed to have solved the problem. BUT, three hours later, my first load of laundry in over two months, stopped at the end of the cycle with the door locked again!!!! And with the same message "Close Door!"
After many calls to Electrolux, I'm still only getting acknowledgements that they received my email and call...no solutions! Is it going to take ANOTHER 3 WEEKS to get a technician back in to confirm that the machine is indeed broken??? And will it be ANOTHER 3 WEEKS to get more parts??? I have been without laundry for over two months!!!! This has been a huge hassle and aggravation to get hold of someone at Electrolux who can resolve this problem. I bought what I thought was premium machines that would last me at least the next 15 years. These machines have serious design faults. Now I just want my money back. I cannot recommend buying Electrolux Washers and dryers!
My Electrolux dryer is less than 2 years old and to date I have been without a dryer waiting for repairs for over four months. Neither Trail Appliances nor Electrolux are standing behind their warranty. Dec 5, I received a call from Trail Service who said the major mother board of the dryer would not be available until Feb 15th. I said that was not acceptable and requested that they contact Electrolux to replace the dryer. They refused and told me I had to work with Electrolux.
I have contacted Electrolux almost weekly. They sent out a new repair company TransGlobal who has said the same. This dryer that is less than two years old requires all electronics to be replaced plus other parts. Electrolux will not live up to their warranty promise on their website. If it cannot be repaired in a reasonable manner, we will replace your appliance. What is reasonable about a dryer that requires all major electronics being replaced and the parts still not available 4 months later. Trail is happy to sell to you, but give you NO SERVICE in extending circumstances. Like their repairman said, buy the cheapest and the extended warranty. All electronics come from Mexico or China. Buying Electrolux was a waste of money as they do not live up to their warranty.
OUr washer is just over 2 years old, we take very good care of it etc. 3 months ago the water inlet valve went and we had to order a new one. Well lo and behold, you CANNOT get PARTS for these stupid appliances!!! We keep getting told 6 weeks, and when 6 weeks is up we get told another 6 weeks and it's been going on for a bit. I have also had a few friends who waited almost a year for parts, and Electrolux just says they don't keep parts in their factories. They are a scam company.
The washer does not have a water filter that is accessible from the front. I had to get a service call to get a technician to open up the machine and clear the filter. Electrolux made this change in the location of the filter to make more money from service calls. I was charged twice the regular price ($500) because it was a stacked washer/dryer setup and they needed two technicians to lift the dryer off. Did I ever get taken ... never again.
I purchased a stacked Electrolux EFLW317TiW2 washer dryer. It has never run more than 90 days in a row without a costly breakdown. The washer has had over 2000.00 in repairs covered by Electrolux and now it needs another 1200.00 repair so far Electrolux has not offered any assistance with the latest repair. I have many rental units and have been replacing washer dryer on an on going basis. No more Frigidaire/Electrolux. I am done with them and advised all building superintendents to only purchase Maytag.
We purchased an Electrolux EFLS627UIW washer Jan 2019. The recirculation pump was replaced Aug 2021, and is making the same noise now, 5 months later. We have a black grime buildup in the gasket that the monthly cleaning cycle does not address and it is near impossible to clean it by hand. I would not recommend this washer at all. It seems Electrolux didn't reengineering after the last lawsuit to correct this mold problem. I'll be selling this machine asap and buying another Samsung.
I purchased our unit about a year ago, it does not require ventilation so I was unsure what to expect. Turned out to be a great investment, the washer spins so fast on the rinse cycle that you could actually air dry most of your clothes in a timely manner. The dryer is self ventilating so it does blow warm air into the room it is situated in, so in very hot weather I could see that being an issue. I live in Tucson AZ so I'm no stranger to warm weather, even so it's really not that bad if you have an AC going, or willing to hang your clothes on a rack/line. Otherwise it's a great set, I put essential oils in the dryer when doing loads sometimes and it freshens up the house! If anything changes I'll update the review.
I bought an Electrolux washer and dryer, not even two years old, washer stopped working, followed repair protocol for a E11 signal, replaced 500.$ of new parts, still not working. Company declines any responsibility, tells me I will have to pay for my own repairs, and that is too bad for me! Offered a rebate if I wanted to buy a new machine! Can't believe this Electrolux fraud, stay away, I am outraged with them and strongly recommend to steer away from Electrolux.
I have owned two sets of Electrolux Washers and Dryers and have the same problems with both sets. The dryer went out within 3 years of purchase. Both times, I supposedly had a warranty that was to last up to 3 years for parts. I called two weeks ago with the Platinum Star Warranty certificate in hand for this latest set. The service department was unable to find a service provider in my area initially and elevated the issue to another department who in turn was supposed to call me back with a resolution. I also suggested during the call that maybe they could just send us the part since we had an error code indicating that the problem was with the control board. I was told they could not do that until THEY determined what the issue was. Needless to say no one called me back.
I have tried to contact the number on the certificate several times since and finally reached someone today. That individual said I did not have the Platinum Star warranty coverage any longer as my warranty expired last year (2020). My certificate clearly states the effective date was 10/08/2018 through 10/09/2021 which I explained and was abruptly told that it must be through someone else. Again the contact number on the certificate is the number I called and have been calling. In addition, the individual argued that I hadn't called until 09/23/2021 so there was nothing they could do.
The funny thing is I have been trying the same contact number almost daily since no one was calling me back and was constantly directed to an extension with a message that stated that they were too busy with other customers to take my call and that I should feel free to call back some other time. The line then proceeded to disconnect with no option to request a call back or leave a message. So, this was the first day since the my initial call that I was actually able to talk with someone (after being on hold for 45 minutes of course). Bottom line is that it is not worth the price you pay for an Electrolux dryer. Based on my experience they don't last more than three years and the ability to get it serviced is nonexistent. My only recourse (for the second time) was to buy another washer and dryer set and trust me it isn't an Electrolux.
Four-year-old Electrolux washer (LuxCare Wash and Smart Boost) and dryer were in a house I purchased. My 10+ year old appliances in the previous house did a better job and had more choice in the controls. The washer doesn't allow me to decide which spin and soil settings I want with cold water, for instance. The dryer never cools off during the last few minutes; clothes come out warm and damp. Low heat might as well be no heat--I have quite a few things that are supposed to be dried on low but take hours in this machine. Again, my choices are dictated by what's already programmed in. I look forward to the day when I can buy new appliances and would never recommend this brand to anyone.
Going on 85 days without the use of a washer purchased in March 2021. Clothes are locked inside, E21 flashes. 4 repairman have worked on it, 3 sent from Electrolux. Electrolux is hard to get hold of and does not want to address the problem! They scheduled another worker to look at it on 9/20. Washer turned itself on, locked door and flooded laundry room, leaked to cellar below. Room and washer reeks of stagnant water, clothes have been ruined. Need Electrolux to make it right and replace this lemon of a machine!
We purchased this washer/dryer stacking set in 2018. The rubber seal on the door of this front loading washer is now filler with mold. The seal is designed so water gets trapped in the folds of the rubber seal. The interior of the seal is difficult access or clean. We were not aware at the time of purchase that Electrolux has a history of producing washers with this problem and that they have consistently refused to offer repairs or rebates. (Google Electrolux + mold.)
We have the Electrolux ELFW4222AW washer, it is 8 months old, it displayed 2 different codes, 1 code the instructions in the manual are to call for service, the other code was for not draining and we corrected this ourselves by cleaning the pump filter, the other code relates to flooding and requires a service call. You can phone the 800 # but you can't get through to a person, so we emailed twice and auto reply states someone will get to you in 3 business days. No contact after 8 days, needless to say this will be my last Electrolux/Frigidaire appliance.
