I bought a 30" Dacor Double Oven (EO230SCH), 36" cooktop, warming drawer and matching convection microwave. Well over $10k. The microwave has been replaced as it died early within the first year while cooking popcorn - nearly started a fire in the kitchen... However the cooktop igniter died at 4 years and now the wall oven is on its third control board in years 3, 4 and 5. Nothing is under warranty and they want nothing to do with me now. The replacement oven controls cost ~$400 each plus installation. So after all this expense, I have invested $1,200 more in replacement parts and the cooktop needs an aim & flame to light. Total crap. I'm going to replace all of this and will never go back to Dacor. I took the time to write this so that others will not waste their time with what I have to assume is the worst quality in the industry. Please don't waste your money.

I purchased all Dacor products. First Dishwasher went out, had purchased warranty. Came out 6 times to fix it, filed complaint with Better Business Bureau. Finally got dishwasher replaced with a Kitchen Aid. Thank God for the BBB. They help people. Then my stand alone range with 6 burners had one of the burners go bad, the appliance co. fixed it. Then the oven relay board went defective. Had to order part over $400.00, no warranty. Then wall oven Relay Board went out, 2016. Paid over $460.00.
Less than 12 months later relay board went out again. They said "Sorry, no warranty." Ordered part said it was $500.00 + to replace. The appliance repair tech ordered wrong relay board. They called me today and now said it's going to cost $650.00, no warranty. Do not buy Decor products. They are horrible. I feel I am being ripped off by Dacor and feeling untrusting of the Appliance Co. I may need to file another complaint with Better Business Bureau. Buyers beware!

We equipped a luxury kitchen with Dacor appliances. Had to replace the 60 inch dual fuel range after 8 years - use the same brand simply to match. Big mistake. Several repairs already. Also installed two under the counter warming drawers - nothing but problems and repair expense. Now we need a small $25 part - a cooling fan with motor that is faulty. Was informed the part is no longer available - customer service told me "well, it is 10 years old". Really? We now have to rebuild part of the kitchen cabinetry and spend several thousand to replace two warming drawers? They also said the company was too small to keep parts available for a long period of time. Unbelievable! I will never buy Dacor appliances again.

I purchased my 30" range and was so excited! Well no longer. First the wrong range was delivered. I had to wait another three weeks for the correct one. My oven can not cook at all. Temp fluctuates by 100 degrees. Going on my third service call and still not working. It very unfair, I have to take time off work to wait for repair person, then nothing is fixed. I wish I could return this lemon. But after reading other reviews I am not alone. Why is this company not accountable for ripping hard working people off. I love cooking. It's my passion. My Kenmore Elite was half the price and far more superior.

We did a total kitchen remodel and purchased Dacor appliances. Big mistake. Had to spend 500 on refrigerator repair (model EF36BNDFSS). Oven is off 25 degrees on temperature. The glass top for burners was defective. Would never purchase Dacor. Microwave front trim keeps coming off as well.

After less than a year after installation the oven continues to operate poorly. It's been recalibrate twice and a new control board installed. Did I mention the board had burned components? It still does not operate properly. It's at least 25 degrees off. Everything takes way longer to cook than it should. Thanksgiving was 2 hours late. Christmas was the same. Entertaining during the holidays, embarrassing. Now Dacor wants pictures to prove to truly see how poorly the oven is operating. I thought I bought a quality product but I was wrong. This is just following suit with the Dacor refrigerator I purchased and was replace months later.

Our 30in Dacor double ovens are approximately 12 years old. I feel they operate adequately. However, not better than our much lower end appliances we previously owned. My main complaint is the self cleaning function. My old oven's self cleaning worked much better! With our Dacor ovens one must take out the racks and clean them by hand. This is very difficult and time consuming. I used the 3 hr option to clean my oven that was moderately dirty, mainly from cooking a prime rib over the holidays. After the 3 hr cleaning the oven was still very dirty with splatters and grease. I'm now cleaning my oven again with a second 3 hr cleaning cycle. I know at the end of this second cycle I will need to do a lot more cleaning by hand! I hope Dacor has improved their inadequate self cleaning feature. If it hasn't been improved, I really can't recommend Dacor ovens.

My wife and I purchased an expensive Dacor Outdoor Grill for our outdoor kitchen in our new home we constructed 5 years ago. It has been a piece of junk from day one. For 5 years the igniter for two of the burners "clicks" non-stop the entire time the grill is turned on. We have made countless calls to fix the issue, but not one Dacor endorsed technician can fix the problem.
Finally, last night (February 6, 2017) the stupid grill exploded and died a fitting death. Soot was sprayed over everything in the area, black nasty junk oozed out the side of the grill and the control knobs were blown off the grill. I could not turn off the searing burner even using pliers. I finally had to turn off the main valve controlling the natural gas that fed the grill. I will never, ever buy a high-end grill again! I failed to mention that after only 3 years many of the internal parts were extremely corroded, even though the grill sits under a roof and is protected from the elements. Save your money and go with a much less expensive brand.

Purchased Dacor Renaissance wall oven in July 2015, Model RNO130S. After less than a year and a half, the cooking temperature began to fail. For instance, set to bake at 425 degrees, the oven would appear to heat properly, but tried and true recipes would be pasty and uncooked at the expected time. I inserted an oven thermometer inside to test and found an erratic pattern of oven heating up properly to 425 but then sometimes dropping back to about 350 during cook time and refusing to ever reach 425 again. ABT repairman adjusted temperature calibration but refused to troubleshoot any further. Just ruined another dinner. Thanks Dacor and ABT for your unreliable product and poor service.

I called customer service to ask general directions on how to remove the top of my oven range. The person answering the phone (01/23/2017 at 4:25 PM) would not let me talk to anyone in service. I asked him why, and are you ready for this? He said we can't talk to customer service for our own "security".. No kidding. The idiot went on to try and tell me it was for my protection! After arguing further, I asked him to again connect me with a technician. He puts me on hold and comes back and says "The technician said to call a service provider" - unbelievable. I will NEVER buy a DACOR product again! What morons think they can sustain a business with this approach to service!

I purchased my Dacor Distinctive #DT0127 wall oven in 2015 and have been very pleased with the product to date. However after running a self-clean cycle the oven does not work which was a surprise given the fact that I had previously done self-cleans before without any problems. I immediately contacted Dacor customer service who were amazing! The CSR that I spoke with kindly extended my warranty until 2018 even though I had not registered my oven with them upon purchasing it. He also arranged a service call for me that would be covered under the extended warranty. I am very impressed with the company's attention to service as I really love my oven. Even though I experienced this issue I would still recommend this product.

I purchased a DACOR Discovery IQ Range one year ago Model # DYRP36DS/NG from an online authorized DACOR retailer. Here is a synopsis of the events I've had with the range over the past 12 months: I took delivery of the Range in January of 2016 at my home under construction. I moved into the home in April 2016 which is when the Range was fist installed. In May I began to have problems with the unit, it would shut down during preheating, then reboot itself, sometimes it would just reboot itself randomly. I called DACOR customer support who told me that I needed to download the latest software version, which I did. Shortly thereafter, the Range again would shut down during cooking and go into a reboot cycle.
I called DACOR again, they sent out a local service company. In June the technician came out and upgraded and re-installed the software. The problem continued, I contacted DACOR AGAIN, got the run around, etc... Escalated the problem. DACOR then determined the problem was in the internal circuit board which they arranged to shipped to local service company. The service company came out again, replaced the internal circuit board and attempted to upgrade the eProm, which didn't work. The Range was in a constant state of rebooting itself over and over and over again. The Technician left. Said nothing more he could do. I had to shut the power off so the unit would stop rebooting itself.
I called DACOR AGAIN, I got a complete run around, they refused to do anything more. I finally was able to reach the V.P. of Customer Service. After a few conversations and investigation into the issues. She determined that the unit needed a new front controller panel. The panel was shipped to the local service company. The service company came out again and replaced the front controller panel. It's now November. Over Christmas, the unit began to shut off the oven randomly during cooking cycles, for no apparent reason. Over New Years, the oven was shutting off, flashing an error code and reboot! I called DACOR last week. They refuse to help because now it is "out of warranty".
I've contacted the online retailer. I've left messages at DACOR for the Service Manager and the V.P. of Service. NO RESPONSE. So this is how DACOR deals with servicing their "high end" appliances, keep trying to pretend to fix the lemon appliance until the anniversary date, and then they don't have to deal with their $9,000 piece of garbage "high end" range any longer. The consumer gets screwed and DACOR doesn't care in the least! DO NOT BUY an appliance from DACOR.

Our new ranch has three Dacor microwaves, only one of which has had a few months of use. The others have very limited use. To this point we've not had problems, but given the opportunity to redo the purchases we'd go with a popular brand, i.e., LG, GE, Panasonic. They are more flexible, parts are available, and all three combined would probably cost less than one of these. In fairness, I personally feel the same about our other high end appliances, Wolf, Viking, Sub-Zero and Asko. None beats our former appliances. Maybe it's just about show.

We remodeled our kitchen and decided to use the range as the focal point of the room. The decision to go with a Dacor ER36DSCH dual fuel range over comparable Wolf and Viking models as well as a Dacor heating drawer was made, a decision I have regretted since. Our unit keeps blowing the baking element ($200) which routinely fails at the most inopportune times.
To date I have replaced four and the Mrs. recently informed me that the oven is once again not heating properly. Thankfully, I am competent enough to diagnosis and repair it myself and did a thorough operational inspection and cleaning which revealed the broil element ($180) had also gone bad this time. My wife "hates" this oven and unfortunately it sits right smack in the middle of our beautiful kitchen to remind us of the bad decision we made. In fact, we are now at the point where we are considering replacing it and sending it to a scrap yard where it belongs. Avoid this brand or it will cost you.

Do not buy a Dacor appliance unless you're okay with replacing parts for the oven in less than 2 years. The control electronic part was replace then less than a year later the user interface had to be replaced. Less than a year after the user interface was replaced, the oven completely stopped working. After calling the same repair guy to come fix it, they informed me that the company no longer sells the control interface. When I called the company, the only options they gave me were to send the part to a third party refurbish company and have them fix it. That means I would have to call the service repair company for the FOURTH time to have them remove the part, I would need to send it away to get fixed and call them back to put it back in.
Dacor didn't even offer to pay for any of this. The customer service rep offered to give me a discount on a new unit. Are you kidding me?!? Please do yourself a favor and don't buy anything from this company. They don't back up their products and it's clear they don't care about their reputation. It's a waste of money to be spend on "high end" appliances that are poorly made. Spend less from a different company that's been around for a long time. At least if a part goes, you'll have reassurance they will have that part handy. A terrible company. I hope they go belly up soon so they can stop selling overly priced kitchen appliances to people.

If anyone else has this experience with Dacor ovens, we need to have a class action suit against Dacor! While baking Christmas cookies this week with my grandchildren, my ovens stopped working and started beeping. The error code was F3. I was able to get a technician rather quickly who diagnosed the problem as a failure of the control board which affected both ovens. The replacement part was discontinued from production in 2011. My ovens are 12 years old and cost over $4,000 at the time. What a pickle I was in a week before family coming for Christmas dinner!
The technician said my only recourse was to send the control board to a refurbisher and he did not know when the board would be fixed - all for a whopping costs of over $600.00! I find it unacceptable that Dacor discontinues a control board and forces the consumer to either buy new ovens or pay the cost of a refurbished part that I hope will work. After spending thousands of dollars, how does this happen? What can be done so the consumers who purchase appliances with good intentions are protected from manufacturers that don't stand behind their products? DACOR I NEED ANSWERS!!

This is the second time I have purchased these appliances and unfortunately each one has been a great disappointment. I have spent enough in repair bills to almost purchase a warming drawer. Each one shuts down when the "self clean" button is turned on, and then I have to call a repairman out to recalibrate the oven to work each time I try to use the "self clean". I was told by the last repairman that the life of the oven is greatly shortened if you the "self clean" mode. If this is the case, either fix it or take out this mode.
After I had the oven about a year the oven door glass blew out, and this had to be replaced. The temperature in the oven is very unreliable in different areas of the oven and browns more on one side than the other... For the high end cost of these ovens, I would just as soon have a basic oven that works and does not go out every few months. What a waste of money I consider Dacor to be, and will never recommend it to anyone I know. I am in the "personal shopping" business and have my own company, but will tell my clients to be very aware of the high cost/low performance of Dacor products... On a scale of 1 to 10, Dacor gets a "1".

Dacor double oven range turns off by itself while baking - Disappointed in Dacor, especially today. Thanksgiving 2016: baking turkey. Sill baking turkey. I don't know when the oven decided to switch off this time, but I have an uncooked turkey and guests waiting. The oven has done this before, but because it was new I thought it was user error. Nope, the damn oven mysteriously turns off on its own. Incredibly irritated with Dacor. The range hood we also purchased is a joke. We remodeled our kitchen 1 year ago and wanted quality appliances. Bad move. Save your money, folks. Save your money.
UPDATED ON 03/10/2017: Dacor sent a company out to fix the broken new oven. Oven still cannot hold its temperature (It takes FOREVER to heat then loses its heat while still showing a high temp). We purchased a Dacor built-in refrigerator in 2011. After just 5 years the warning beeper came on. We learned that the main control panel - built by Whirlpool - was defective. We then learned that Dacor did not have any replacement part for this model. Our only alternative was the purchase a new refrigerator. Amazing!! Dacor reluctantly gave us a partial credit for a new (KitchenAid) model. However at the end of the day we are out of pocket over $2000 because Dacor built and sold a defective refrigerator with no ability to fix the problem. Very unsatisfactory handling of this situation.

I purchased a Dacor Renaissance range for our new home. What a waste of money. Though I have not had any major problems with the performance of the range yet, besides uneven baking, the design is not user-friendly. To begin with, the gas burners share a grate. So when cleaning, you have to remove the whole grate on one side. The controls for the burners & griddle are very hard to see & I have to bend over to see which burner I'm turning on. The oven racks are a joke. The two glide racks are very bulky with sharp edges. It is difficult to change the heights or to remove them for cleaning purposes. Though there are three racks included, it is impossible to bake with all three in the oven.
I have a GE Monogram that I had purchased two years ago for another home, and I love it The Renaissance & Monogram are similar in price, but I unfortunately, listened to the sales person & let them talk me into the Renaissance. I realized my mistake in buying a Dacor immediately & contacted the appliance store. Even though the Renaissance had not been used, they would only give me a token amount of money towards trading it in for a Monogram. So, I am stuck with a range that causes me to swear under my breath every time I use it. Dacor could learn a lot from GE.

I have had multiple Dacor appliances. 4 sets of warming drawers, double wall oven, single wall oven, cooktop. My double wall oven failed at 8 years and needed replacement control board and membrane keypad, an expensive repair. 2 of the 4 warming drawers failed and needed control replacement. The double oven then had repeated control board failure so we decided to replace it with an updated model some 3 plus years ago. Being clean freaks, we did not really soil the ovens so we never had need to use the self cleaning feature. Guests were not so careful so we went to use the self clean feature today and it did not work. A service call revealed the need for replacement control board. How can I be so unlucky as to have repeated control board failures in 2 different Dacor ovens? I am frustrated and believe Dacor should stand behind this product which is just beyond warranty.

I bought my Dacor epicure 36 duel fuel range in 1998. First stove: oven door did not close, spark modulator out. They tried to fix it but failed. They sent me a new stove. #2 stove: same problem with spark modulator. Couldn't use any burner without the constant clicking. Oven didn't bake evenly. Complained. Stove: #3: same problems. Dacor sent me a letter to grade them on their stoves and service. I blasted them. They called me and ask if I wanted my money back or another stove. Stupidly I took the stove. This was 5 years since the original purchase. I've had this stove #4 for 13 years. Door is and always has been unable to close. I use a stick to close it. Now the relay board is out. Frankly I so love the looks of the stove and I can't afford to get a new one. Original was 5200. Now they are 6700 and I would probably have the same problems. So I am going to try and fix this stove myself.
I will never buy Dacor anything ever again, even if I could afford it. When they offer your money back, take it. The service was responsive although didn't solve the problem through 4 stoves. I would gather from that, the design is bad. My mother has a old 1940 gas stove that still works. Gas stoves should not be that complicated.

Oh how I wish I never bought a Dacor! It has been nothing but problems. I figured I bought a lemon but after reading other reviews it's just not a good product with not very good customer service either. I have had repairs every year, and even after repairs it still isn't functioning as it should. The first problem I had was the whole glass window blew out during baking, which seems to me is a huge liability. The company said that shouldn't happen but is out of warranty and would give me a discount on the glass.
I thought that was better than nothing but then 6 months later the relay went out, then baking temps were all over the place in the oven so they said I needed a new motherboard and they said both ovens needed it. So those were repaired. Oh ya and the light in the bigger oven hasn't worked past the first year even after having the light changed and some electrical stuff done on it. Then I had the bulbs changed due to irregular oven temps. The temps are still all over the place to this day.
The back right corner gets too dark. The front left doesn't brown and is a lower temp. Now I'm having problems with the oven turning off during baking and when using broil in the small oven it causes the large oven's probe alarm to go on and offer at least for an hour. Dacor didn't help me with anything past the glass and it's only been 7 months since the new motherboards were put in. I can't afford to buy a new oven at this time and so I only use the small oven mainly since the larger has so many problems. Do yourself a favor and never buy a Dacor!

We were incredibly disappointed, not only with the range but with the customer service from Dacor. We purchased this range in January 2016 and here we are in July with what is basically a pan holder sitting uselessly in our kitchen. Problems started immediately. The first time I used the oven, it locked with the cooking food inside. It turned out that the thermostats on both ovens were so out of whack that the oven temperature reached "self-cleaning mode" levels so the ovens locked with the food inside! We had both thermostats replaced twice and still had the same problem. Eventually, the thermostats were calibrated, but still "within a range." In addition, the switch for the convection oven just stopped working. After 6 months of trying to deal with this problem, we will be returning the range and replacing it with a different brand. At no point did Dacor offer to exchange the range, they simply kept sending a repair person.

We bought a Dacor double wall oven from University electric in Santa Clara, at THEIR recommendation! It is a LEMON. It has never worked properly. This is the worst appliance I have ever owned, and the most expensive! First time I used the bottom oven, it didn't preheat. Said it was at the right temperature, but it "jumped" to show it was, when it was in fact at a lot lower temp. After months of waiting, finally they got someone to put a new control panel in it - didn't work. Now he tells me it needs a new relay board. Been waiting 2 weeks, nothing. Also the top oven doesn't cook evenly, you have to turn the dishes around, even on convection! Broiler doesn't preheat properly and also burns on one side, before other side even is starting to brown. We asked for a new oven, but they said they have to try and repair it. This never worked when it was new, they should replace it with a new oven. Do not buy Dacor.

We moved into our home in 2012 and have had nothing but problems with our Dacor refrigerator (Dacor Model EF48DCBSS). Our issue is the drain pan heater AGAIN. This problem is, water that collects in the drain pan freezes and eventually builds up to a point where the fan motor starts hitting it, sounding like a helicopter landing in your kitchen! We've had this problem repaired THREE times by TWO DIFFERENT repair companies to the tune of $1000. Both repair technicians said it was a design flaw and this problem would continue to happen regardless of how many icing kits were replaced. So a $7000 refrigerator will cost us $1000 a year to keep running?!?!?!
After much research, it's apparent we are not alone with this problem. We also had a Dacor microwave just STOP working (model #DMT2420S). It was only 8 years old. Our Dacor oven range (model #ER48DSCH) has two ovens and only one side retains the heat. The main side gets to about 300 degrees and then the temperature starts dropping.
Here is the breakdown of costs for our so called "high end" appliances. Dual Fuel Range - $10000, refrigerator - $7000 (annual repairs of $1000), microwave - $500 (had to purchase new microwave $600). PLEASE LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE AND DO NOT PURCHASE DACOR APPLIANCES. We thought we were getting a premium appliance, but after less than a year and just before the holidays it quit with a code on the control panel we couldn't find in the owner's manual. We had a serviceman out and the cost of the part and the service call was more than we paid for the oven! It now sits there, useless and a reminder to never buy Dacor anything!

Thank you for your attention. Since my post, a resolution has been reached and Dacor will be replacing my range with a new one. That is much more representative of the pride and reputation of Dacor. The executives were very responsive. Perhaps front line agents are not empowered to make these decisions, however, in my case, the escalation brought the matter into the right hands. Happy with the direction towards the final outcome, not the 4-month process that discounted the reputation and my perception.

I purchased a Dacor fridge and 36"6 burner range delivered in Sept 2015. The ice maker worked for a day and after several service calls and 5 months, the fridge was REFUNDED! They have since fixed the issue. The oven door on the range is skewed to the right, and was hitting the pull out spice rack on my cupboards. I didn't notice this until October 2015 and this issue is still not resolved. They tried to wedge it back into plane, had several service calls again to analyze the situation, forcing me to take time off work, and they replaced the oven door, but that has not corrected the problem. Still not resolved. Very dissatisfied. This is not a reputable product. Shameful service.

Dacor ERD30s06BK/LP - thought reputation was good. Quality seemed outstanding. Like: Appearance; Dislike: Performance, Reliability, Serviceability, Quality of parts, Availability of parts. In a word: Don't buy a Dacor! I've learned that if you have a repair person/organization you can depend on ask them to suggest the best appliance based on their repair experience and their ability to obtain parts.
Dacor has already replaced range once. Oven interior cracked when self-clean was used. Stovetop burner ignitors frequently continue to spark after flame is established. Stovetop burners will sometimes extinguish when flame is low. This experience showed me that just because an appliance is expensive, it doesn't mean good performance or high quality. Because of the cost of replacement we have lived with the Dacor until the next major repair is not possible because of lack of available of parts or cost.

In September 2009 we did a complete remodel of our kitchen. Replaced everything but the refrigerator, with DACOR appliances. Within a few months we had problems with the dishwasher and finally replaced it with a GE in 2012. About that same time we had problems with the Dacor Epicure 30" Single Oven Model EO130SCH control panel and had to have the repairman out to work on the relay/computer board. At Christmas 2015 I had trouble baking, the temperature wasn't accurate and have had the repairman again. He says that the computer board is "fried" (his term). I've tried calling Customer Service with no success. I've e-mailed them with same results.
The appliance repairman has told me that he can't find the part. All the distributors that he's called have been told that the part is on "back order". I've been without an oven for over two months now with no fix in sight. Have been told that IF we find the part it will probably run around $500.00. These are appliances that are only six years old and have had gentle use by senior citizens. Anyone reading this - PLEASE DON'T BUY DACOR! You'll be sorry as I am.

We purchased the Model MOH130S in 2006 from a very reputable distributor of high-end appliances. In 2009 we required a service call to deal with temperature control. The oven was out by more than 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This resulted in a relay board, item 101559, to be replaced. Dacor was nice enough to cover the cost of the board, but not the cost of the $152.00 service call. In 2013, guess what? Relay board, this time out by more than 50 degrees, item # 101559 required replacement again only this time it was not covered and cost of $628.00.
Here we are, 2016 waiting for the service provider again as temperature is out by over 60 degrees. Roasts, Turkeys, Chickens and everything else have been dying slow deaths in this unit and are awaiting yet another bill to deal with temperature control. Dacor will do nothing until another $150 service call confirms the problem. Hmmm! What to do?

This range was installed in January 2003. The door on the larger oven was replaced soon after because it would not close tightly and still doesn't with the new door. I have always thought that the oven temperature is lower than it should be but have been told twice that it is accurate, tell that to the turkey. The heating element on the large oven was replaced 2 years ago. Four of the burners don't light and have to be lit manually, this has been going on for 10 years. The relay board has burned out and now has to be replaced, $800.00 fix. The technician just left and could not replace it, he couldn't access the tight spot that it was in and wanted to cut the barrier panel to get access to it. He decided not to do the job and told me to call Dacor to get another repair service, which I just did. I was prompted to write this after reading other reviews and remarks. I moved into a house that already had a Dacor unit in place. Within months, I discovered that I owned an oven that could be fixed by throwing the circuit breaker. Then, I learned about invisible hands that turned the 325 degree convection oven to a 500 degree broiler. The final act was having all three glass panes shatter and the control panel cracking as punishment for assuming that the oven cleaner on an expensive gourmet stove would function according to manufacturing standards. The repairman ordered replacement parts. He spoke with someone who was "off shore" so forget about Dacor being all American made. The wrong parts were sent. He has reordered. Meanwhile, I have been without an oven for two months. If this goes on, I am going to Home Depot and buying a Hotpoint or GE. It is the same price as replacement glass panels and the control panel.

I have owned a Dacor dual fuel 6-burner range for several years. I paid approximately $5,000 for the product. It has proven to be totally unsatisfactory. The gas burners click and make noise whenever you try to turn the burners down to a low temperature. The cook top is very hard to clean. The range is a constant problem. It smells bad, does not heat up promptly, and the broiler feature is always a problem. A gas oven is supposed to heat to and keep a constant temperature - the Dacor does not. The broiler will not cook food evenly or well. The door to the oven will not close properly and is constantly partially open. The hinges do not seem to work properly.
Most importantly, I have tried on many occasions to get Dacor to do something about the defective product. They have been totally non-responsive. When I did finally get somebody to come and look at it, they spent about 2 hours cleaning it, accused me of using the wrong cleaner on the cooktop, and presented me with a bill for $800. I asked if they would just give me my money back and take the defective product with them. DON'T BUY DACOR.

Dacor Epicure Dual Fuel Range and Microwave - Where to begin? Perhaps at the "end" is best. Dacor appliances are shoddy, unreliable, outrageously expensive to repair and there is no customer support. That about covers it. We bought the above noted pair during our kitchen renovations 8 years ago. We thought that Dacor was a premium brand that would give us long trouble free service. How wrong we were! The only thing "Premium" about them is the price. 4 years ago, the microwave door refused to latch. Thanks to YouTube, I found out how to remove the door backing and found that the plastic part that comprised the latch was broken.
Dacor was contacted - they no longer had the part. "Try the open market" I was told. I managed to jury rig a repair by using a wooden shim. 3 years ago, the range packed it in. Another repair - this time I was told it was the circuit board that had failed and which was replaced to the tune of $700 and I was cautioned that the second circuit board was not working very well - the interior light would not illuminate and the blue lights indicating a lit burner didn't work, and I should change it too. The smaller circuit board was costed out at $400. Last week, the door latch motor failed and the range began to beep incessantly. Now the oven cannot be used and repair costs quoted over the phone were in the 1000$ range. That's it for us. Dacor is junk and belongs where it's headed - the junkyard. Don't buy Dacor. We bought 3 very expensive Dacor appliances when we built our home 12 years ago. They have been a total disappointment. The microwave was replaced after just a couple of years when it just stopped working properly - including needing to stop it by opening the door! The wall ovens have needed many minor repairs which have amounted to several hundred dollars after labor charges. I see on this post others have had to repair the hinges! Ours have been replaced twice! The broiler came loose and was hanging on one side. The internal light also goes on and off by itself - sometimes in quick succession. At times, it stays on and cannot be turned off by the light button but by banging the front of the oven! Ridiculous!
The cooktop cooks very unevenly. It goes from simmer to boiling over. The ceramic material did not hold up very well either. It is supposed to clean easy. But there are spills that have left permanent stains and we will be replacing that as well. We have also had Customer Service tell us items have been discontinued so we have no choice but to replace these appliances since replacement parts cannot be purchased any longer. This is a warning to anyone considering Dacor - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! There are far better appliances out there!

I purchased a DACOR PGR-30S LP in 2002. It has had a number of problems due to poor design that required replacing the control panel as well as other parts. However, it has recently developed a gas leak and thus is no longer usable. To fix the gas leak, you must take off the top burners to get to the leak and make a repair. UNFORTUNATELY, DACOR has to make room for new parts and no longer makes the O-Rings required. Yes, apparently a $10 O-Ring takes too much room seven years after I bought my range. So, in 2009, DACOR discontinued making the O-Rings and now I have a very expensive paperweight that I have to take to the dump so that I don't blow up my house. I wouldn't ever buy a DACOR again. Upon turning on the power, error codes C76 and C77 appeared on the control panel display. The installers phoned your service people who instructed them to remove the front panel and look for a loose wire. When they removed the front panel, the entire control board was just hanging free, not secured in place with any screws (it appeared that this was an assembly error). They found a wire hanging, secured it in place, reattached the control panel and applied power. At this time the error codes were no longer displayed and they were able to set the time.
When they attempted to start up an oven cycle to test the unit, the Start/Continue button on the membrane keypad was not responding. Another call to your service team determined that the control panel would need to be replaced. 2 ovens within 2 weeks arrived DEAD! The quality is beyond unacceptable. We've had these appliances for 15 years. The cooktop has worked well. However, it could be improved with a lower lever for heating on its small burners, allowing it to simmer water rather than boil. The Dacor exhaust we purchased is one of those type that pop up out of the counter. It works but leaves much to be desired. When it runs, it pulls so much air the flame goes out on the burners. It is still not efficient at getting rid of cooking smells or smoke either, but that is simply a problem with all of this design so I can't fault Dacor. We have the biggest problem with the double oven. There are three main issues:
2) The oven door gaskets prevent to door from closing and sealing all the way. The door tilts out app. ¾" because of this. We were told by the service guy who came to fix problem 1 above that this is the way the doors are(!). Our bottom one also tilts out but not as much. I've dealt with this for 14 years!
3) We have to "sand" the burner electrodes on the cooktop to ensure they spark to light the burners at least 2-4 times per year. Not sure if that is normal or not.

This supposedly gourmet, fancy, convection oven that supposedly can bake cookies and meat at the same time is a total fail. We have had the service people out repeatedly to no avail. I am convinced we could change the circuit boards repeatedly and it wouldn't make a difference because it is a faulty design. This product should not be on the market or this company and their poor service in business. DO NOT BUY THEIR RANGES! Unless you don't cook and all you will do is look at it. When I pay top-dollars for a supposedly high-end product, I would expect performance and durability. That is not the case with Dacor. This manufacturer charges top-dollars for their appliances but their products do not live up to expectations. I purchased a Dacor gas cooktop range, and within a year several blue-indicator lights on the knobs (which indicate the gas is on) failed. At that time it was covered under warranty, and even then it was a hassle to get the repair technician to come out and take the range out to get to the electronic parts. After replacing two of the lights, the other lights failed as well, and then the replaced lights eventually went out. Now, only one out of the five lights work. After a year, the appliance is no longer under warranty, and it is too expensive to get it serviced. It's not only a cosmetic issue, but a safety one as well.
We're in the market for a single wall-oven, and I considered a Dacor for its clean and stylish design. However, after reading the reviews about Dacor, I'm veering away from this company. Sadly, as much as I want to support a "Made in America" company, the pride of workmanship and customer service doesn't live up to this company's branding.

I've had this range for two years and am replacing the control panel for the second time. 1st time during product warranty and second time out of warranty. The range is beautiful but apparently the electronics are bad. And to add insult to injury Dacor doesn't stock replacements but has them assembled when needed. Estimated wait time for a new panel is 3 weeks; so no oven for 3 weeks and now not a lot of faith that the new board will be any better than the last one.

We were out of state from December 21, 2014 to January 2, 2015. The condition of the refrigerator was discovered at about 9:30 PM on Saturday, January 2nd. Upon opening the door the Dairy Compartment Cover fell to the floor. We could immediately see the damage but did not know the source. As a result, the unit was turned off. The owner's manual was consulted along with a review of the Dacor website. The office was closed on the weekend so Monday was the earliest we could obtain names of Dacor authorized repair agents in the Phoenix area.
A authorized Dacor repair technician stated the light switch or light circuit in the board failed. The interior light bulbs located at the top of the refrigeration side of the unit remained on when the refrigerator door was closed. The heat generated by the continuously lit bulbs led to the melting and charring of the plastic light fixture. The light socket melted, the wiring harness melted into the socket assembly, light switch, and control panel. The heat was intense enough to warp the Dairy Compartment clear plastic cover, some of the adjustable door bins, and the interior door liners. Also, all food containers made from plastic such as salad dressing bottles, mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise, etc. were disfigured. Of course all the contents from both the refrigerator and freezer had to be disposed.
Before leaving on an extended trip we had been following the instructions preparing for a vacation listed on page 19 of the owner's manual. On our departure date the food that would not have lasted more than two weeks was removed from the refrigerator. The ice bin was emptied and the wire shut off arm was raised to the OFF (O) position. Note, page 19 does not mention to set the Sabbath mode when leaving for a short or long vacation. We were fortunate that the damage was contained within the refrigerator.

My wife and I purchased a new Dacor dishwasher, new Dacor range and new Dacor microwave oven. Unfortunately, the dishwasher never worked and we're now going through the process of getting the unit repaired. A repair technician was sent out and discovered a new CPU was needed. Then once the CPU was installed, a new circulatory pump was needed. And finally, once the circulatory pump can in, the unit still doesn't work. We've had the technician in four separate times (installation, tech inspection, CPU install, and circulatory install) and each visit is approximately one week between visits. Yes, we're now going on four weeks without a dishwasher that we paid for. Beyond that, someone needs to be home each time they visit. So now I'm without a dishwasher for four weeks and I have to take four days off of work so a technician cannot fix my dishwasher.
When I called Dacor customer service and asked for a temporary unit until mine is fixed, they simply stated 'we don't do that'. Dacor may be a premium appliance manufacturer but they do not have a premium customer service department. So buyer beware, if your unit has any problems Dacor will not rush, hurry or try to accommodate you. I'm sure the unit will eventually get fixed but after a month of waiting, I believe I've earned the right to warn others about Dacor's business practices. We purchased the unit from Pacific Sales in Corona, CA. When we asked Pacific Sales for assistance they said it was a Dacor issue and refused to assist us. These two businesses will no longer receive my patronage.

Dacor Double Oven Model D0230 - I have had my oven since November 2011. I purchased an extended warranty at the time of buying the oven. Right after it was installed, I called and said they needed to come and adjust the temperature control. It was off at least 50 degrees. It never held the correct temperature. Since July, we have had to replace 2 relay boards, two other parts that should take care of erratic temperature. Then I noticed the gasket was turning black in the corner and my glass pack in the window was steaming up and not clearing.
The extended warranty would not cover the glass replacement and I was charged $126. They said it was cosmetic, but this was so bad that I couldn't see through half the glass. The steam stained the glass and you could not clean it, because it was inside two pieces of glass. Do not buy a Dacor oven. In 38 months I have so many repairs that I have lost track.

The digital screen with blue lighting makes this a truly elegant part of any kitchen..... when it works. The range top itself worked flawlessly for me and the main burner was always more than enough. The problem with the range lies in the electronics. The unit has been in my home for over a year and has worked for less than a month total. An error code appeared when ever the oven gets hot. C33, C1, 0000, 1111, C11. I've seen it all. I have had the main board replaced twice and my local repairman is on first name basis with even my dogs at this point. The final straw for me was when the oven door glass shattered while cooking and when dacor was contacted they said "that happens". I'm think I'll try Viking.....

We purchased a DACOR double wall oven (MOH2275) in April 2012. We are waiting for service to arrive for the fourth time since we purchased the oven. I find this unacceptable. We have had 2 other ovens in the last 30 years and they did not need any service. In general I have found appliances to be of such reliability that I don't get extended warranties. DACOR gave a 3 year warranty on this oven and now I know why. Hopefully this service will fix it for a long period of time.
On the positive side, the oven really works well. It is so well insulated that we feel very little heat coming off it. One serious flaw its overall operation is the reheating of the oven. If I bake something at 350 degrees and then want to reset the over to 450 degrees, the oven does not go into preheat mode and does not let you know when you reach the required temperature. I am hopeful this will last awhile and not have to be replaced for what we paid for it.

I noticed that the door did not close either, and because I did not address it within a year, I'm out of luck. We have a Dacor Epicure 36 six burner range. It has been a regular source of trouble since it was installed as part of a kitchen remodel in 2006. The igniter for the broiler went out 18-24 months after we got the oven. A year or so after that the weld that holds the bottom oven rack bracket to the oven itself popped loose making it impossible to use the lowest rack position in the oven. Last year the circuit board that controls, among other things, turning the bottom oven element on stopped working. Not only is the board itself quite expensive, but it is buried deep under the top of the stove taking lots of expensive hours of repair time to remove and replace. And now the burner igniters have begun to over spark (e.g., continue to click long after the burner has been lit, burners sparking that have not been turned on). The repairman tells me that is a different circuit board so we could be heading to another $500 or so in repair bills or perhaps a trip to the dump and a much cheaper replacement range. We have had other Dacor equipment (cooktop, wall oven, warming drawer) and have not had a problem with any of them. But given our experience with the Epicure I can't imagine ever buying another.

We remodeled our kitchen and when I saw this oven in the showroom I had to have it even though it was way over our budget. The first problem was when you pushed a setting the oven preheats and your locked in. You cannot increase or decrease the temperature without canceling the setting and venting the heat from the oven. After contacting Dacor they advised me to follow my recipe more carefully. So I have an oven that you can't raise or lower the temperature once you make your setting and they think this is normal. Also when your bulbs burn out that illuminate the control knobs, $200.00 to replace one bulb! They have to remove the entire top of the stove, you cannot do it yourself. Sadly I have to live with this purchase but if I win the lottery I'll kick it to the curb. Do not buy anything from this company.

I built my home in 2003 and installed a Dacor 30" wall oven. After several years of poor performance, we started to get an error message. Dacor suggested replacing a board for $300. That didn't work so they had me replace another $300 board. That didn't work so they told me I needed a new front panel and it would run about $1,000. That board is on back order and they don't have a replacement date. Thinking that it's bad business to sink $1600 into a troubled product that has terrible reviews on the internet. We found out that once you go with Dacor, you need to stay with Dacor due to an unusual, nonstandard size.
Thinking that Dacor has improved their product we ordered a brand new $3,000 Dacor RO130 30" wall oven. It arrived promptly and I removed the defective $3,000 oven and put in the brand new $3,000 Dacor RO130 oven. What I got was a dead brick. The Dacor customer service has been awful, and will not allow me to talk to anyone in their technical side. The oven is getting power. Dacor customer service wouldn't help me unless I could prove that the unit was getting power. So I had to get an electrician in to prove that I had properly wired the 4 cords that came off the original defective Dacor wall oven. Get service help? No chance.
I live 100 miles from Seattle and no one wants to work on Dacor. So here I sit with a $3,000 brick. No service and Dacor has no clue on how they will service this wonderful $3,000 RO130 30" wall oven that is an out of box failure. I don't see how a company that has this bad of a product, two generations of defective ovens, bad customer service, reluctance from the repair community to work on their products will be in business much longer. If you are considering Dacor appliances, consider the problems that I am having. The nonstandard size of their ovens will lock you into future purchases to replace their products that don't last 10 years.

I purchased a Dacor Refrigerator about 4 years ago and have had nothing but constant problems with it over the years. Finally they agreed to send me a new refrigerator, and now after five months I am having a major problem with it, and have been trying for 3 hours to get a warranty authorization from them so I can have a repair man come out and stop a major leak that is now leaking into the condo below me. I am so disgusted with their products and their service that I really would never advise anyone purchasing a Dacor product. If I could I would buy another brand then be done with it, but this was a $9,000.00 refrigerator - CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT???

We acquired a $7,500 Dacor refrigerator when we bought a house this year. The fridge was only 5 years old. First of all it made horrendous noise when operating. Secondly the ice maker didn't work. Thirdly the freezer cooling unit died last week. How can a $7,500 refrigerator be designed so badly? I found out through Dacor's authorized service company that it was quite likely the freezer could be fixed with a $400 part and some $250 in labor. The technician hinted that this problem was quite common with Dacor refrigerators.
I contacted Dacor and suggested that their Internet reviews were terrible and they should help defray the costs of their premature failed unit. I was thinking that for a 5 year old product they should reimburse 50-75% of the total cost to repair. They said they would give me a 25% discount on the retail value of the parts only. In other words - I would be on the hook for at least $600 of the estimated $700 fix. This was a slap in the face. They don't seem to realize that their company's future business is only built on satisfied customers. I can't believe such expensive equipment can be so poorly designed and supported. Mercedes Benz... they are not. Lest anyone think that I am a frothing upset complaining consumer - I will tell you that I am currently retired, and formerly CEO of a $200 million public software company. I know something about building a business and I know something about focusing on customer satisfaction. I would urge anyone reading this review to stay away from all Dacor products. The Company has shown itself to be undeserving of any American consumer's business!

I will NEVER buy Dacor EVER again. We built a house and after looking at other high-end appliance makers and upon my mother's strong recommendation, we installed all Dacor appliances in our new kitchen. My mother based her recommendation of Dacor appliances due to what she explained as their "excellent customer service." HA!! Less than 3 years after installing our pricey Dacor Epicure over-sized dishwasher it has rusted racks -- top and bottom! After experiencing a very painful, drawn-out and EXPENSIVE process of getting our racks replaced, I am not confident AT ALL that our frustrations with this dishwasher are over yet. The new retrofit slides on the top rack are so lightweight I can't imagine they will effectively operate for years to come. I have difficulty closing my dishwasher properly now and have to check each time I run it for leaks on the floor. I've given up on my Dacor dishwasher and have resigned myself to eventually replacing it. NEVER buy Dacor!

Again I would love to express our deepest sympathy for the issues you had with your Dacor dishwasher. However, I am very pleased that we were able to bring your issue to a resolution.

I could have written every one of these negative reviews. I've had all the same issues with my Dacor Epicure oven. Faulty computer panel, failed motor in the downdraft fan, oven not maintaining temperature (meaning NOTHING cooks correctly in this oven), burned out lower element and discolored interior. And let me add that the interior oven fan stays on for about half an hour after you turn off the oven. What purpose could that possibly serve???? Suffice it to say that this is a poorly made product by a company that has no desire for repeat customers. I am currently working with customer service to try to get my oven working for Thanksgiving, but I just don't have much hope after reading all of these similar issues. Clearly, they manufacture a sub-standard product and sell it at premium prices. Nice business model, for a while.

Hello, we are looking forward to receiving the information which we had requested upon your initial phone call. Once we receive that information, we would be more then happy to help bring resolution to these matter for you.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2002 and chose the Dacor 36" dual-fuel range. I was preparing a pork roast for a dinner party with the oven on Bake. The roast was just not coming up to temperature, though the display indicated that the oven was at the temperature I set. I wound up slicing the roast and cooking it on the griddle; my hungry guests were getting restless. Then I tracked the oven heat for an entire day with an oven thermometer. The oven would come up to temperature and then cool off. I sent these numbers to Dacor and asked customer service for an explanation. Believe it or not, the conversation was--Dacor: "The temperature is going down because the fan is coming on. You're not supposed to use the Bake setting, but only the Convection Bake or Pure Convection." Me: "Why is the Bake button there, then?" Dacor: "We're taking it out in the next production run." (This hasn't happened. My sister-in-law bought a Dacor last year before I could warn her and the button is still there.) Also, after using the self-clean one time, I noticed a crack on the inside of the oven door, starting in the corner of the window. The inside of the window is now permanently spotted with baked-on grease.
Now my oven does not work at all. The repairman says that the circuit board needs to be replaced, and if I'm lucky, it will work for a couple of years. The repair will cost around $700 including labor. The repairman told me that some repairmen in our area will not even work on Dacors because there are so many problems. I'm considering replacing the stove... a very expensive mistake. Beware of Dacor products.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2001 and bought a Dacor Epicure 30" dual fuel range. The gas cooktop has never been a problem, unlike the oven which has been a problem from the first week with unpredictable temperature variations. Multiple holiday meals have seen the extended family waiting for dinner for two hours because the oven decided to be cool that day. The advice from Dacor: "preheat your oven for several hours before you need it" or my favorite from a repairman: "you must be slamming your oven door." Not helpful. Several expensive repairs later (over $2100) and one fire in the oven now it won't turn on at all. We are going to try one last time to repair it and then we are done. I do not recommend Dacor to anyone - too expensive to have such terrible quality and service.

I am writing to complain about our Dacor dual fuel stove that we purchased in 1998 when we built our house. Initially things went well, and I enjoyed baking in the oven and the convenience of the gas stove top when we had power issues. But then the honeymoon ended, and the problems started. After completing our first self clean cycle, we started getting the F1 code, and noticed cracks in the front on the stove. Our repair guy came out, took a look, and then informed me that Dacor had had numerous problems, and were not so good about living up to their warranty. He was right, Dacor felt in no way that they should help resolve our problem.
With 4 kids, you can't just go without a stove, so we paid for the parts and repair. I figured it was just a one time thing, but I was wrong. We are now again looking at replacing the same part just 3 years later again with cracks and the F1 code. Dacor should be ashamed. Do the math. If they walk away from responsibility on all of these faulty products that average $5,000 a piece, shouldn't they have the money to pay for the fixes or maybe hire better engineers? They need to be held accountable for this mess. I need my oven back on!!!! And after the money we have paid for repairs, light bulbs, and parts...... the rest of the care should be free and on them.

Dacor representative has been helpful in responding to my complaint and has sent new oven racks which I greatly appreciate. I was able to send them pictures of the damaged racks. I want to clarify that the warranty that was sold to me by an upscale appliance center was NOT a Dacor extended warranty and I believe that this caused my issues to slip thru the cracks. Nothing can be done about the interior that seems to have a film of sorts on it, short of replacing, but I am grateful that Dacor customer service went out of the way to correct the problem with the racks.

I purchased a double oven 30" with convection in 2009. Thought I was getting a great company and a great oven. I went ahead and got an extended warranty. I have had to replace the main board in Feb 2012 and now the upper oven went completely haywire and started smoking and acting erratic. Error code came on and felt fortunate that I had been home because was very close to calling fire dept. It has been a hassle ever since.
The interior of the oven is compromised with a film and almost pitting in the finish. This has never been there. I clean and wipe ovens on a regular basis. The service guy, that I need to use because of the warranty, said this is a relay board. My issue is the racks are completely destroyed and look like they've been in a fire...which they have. BUT, the warranty will not cover! A call to Dacor today and they are absolutely idiots. She's talking about taking my racks out while cleaning and I had to stop her and inform her that the issue was due to another board malfunction that caused my racks to char.
Dacor is saying I need a warranty from DACOR not the warranty that was sold to me in order to cover them. After a year of problems with my ovens I would never buy or recommend Dacor to anyone! And the service guy is telling me they probably don't even make the racks anymore. This is terrible. Take $4000.00 and throw it away. I have all the paperwork for the warranty but Dacor will not honor what was sold with their product.

I rarely write reviews but when I found your site, I decided it was time to vent. I bought a 36" dual fuel, convection Epicure range in 1999. It was not a cheap oven and I was excited at the possibilities of having a 16,000 BTU broiler and large oven cavity to work with. Let's just say that excitement quickly wore off. Almost immediately after the range went out of warranty, the ignitors went bad and we also had to replace the control panel ($400 in repairs was a lot back then). After that, we continued to have ignitor problems and replaced them again. Finally, I just stopped doing it and lit them with my aim and flame. I never allow my children to cook on the stove because I am afraid they will be burned.
Most recently, my broiler element, relay board and again more ignitor problems ($1,200 in repairs). Not to mention, the repairman had a terrible time trying to access all the areas and was at my house for 4 hours trying to do so. When the initial problems happened, I emailed, phoned, left message, etc. to no avail with customer service (I use that term loosely). This company is the worst. I have told everyone I know never to buy a Dacor anything. Next time, I'll buy a Wolf.

When I completely remodeled my kitchen 6 years ago, I actually went AGAINST the advice of my appliance dealer and kitchen designer and insisted on buying the Dacor 30" double convection wall oven. I'd been longing for Dacor ovens for years and though they gently tried to steer me towards Miele or Electrolux, I dug in my heels. I've regretted ever since. Since first use, my electronic display has not been without an error message. Every time I go to turn on the oven, there's a message telling me to clean the convection fan filter. I called Dacor and they told me to ignore it! It was a mistaken message. Still, I cleaned them repeatedly to no avail. The main electronic circuit board on the oven has gone out three times. They paid for it the first time because it was under warranty.
The second time they sold me the part at a discount but I had to pay for the service call. Total cost to me: $480. The third time, I had to pay for everything myself. Total cost to me: $870. They told me it's because I broiled with the door open. I have NEVER broiled with the door open! The inside lights go on and off randomly. The temperature probe has NEVER worked properly. Last week, I was preheating the oven to bake some cookies and an alarm went off giving me a cooling fan error message. The oven turned off and I can't get it to turn back on. I called Dacor customer service twice so far and the first time they told me they would research the issue and call me back. They NEVER CALLED.
I called again and they told me they could ship me the part and I could pay for the service call. The lower oven is currently working so I haven't done anything yet, but the oven originally cost me well over $5,000. I have put another $1,300 into it. I'm not about to spend another $500-$600 on this complete waste of money. Bottom Line: Dacor sells junk for exorbitant prices and refuses to stand behind their products. I was an idiot to fall for the "Only True Convection Oven" in the market line. I'm buying a Miele or a GE to replace.

Five years ago we built a new house with a big open kitchen for entertaining and family. I like to cook. After talking to a kitchen designer and high end appliance dealer in San Antonio, TX, we decided to go 100% Dacor for the kitchen. What a nightmare! The oven was replaced within the first three months. Since then we have had two relay boards replaced (one within warranty, one not) and one thermostat replaced. When the oven is working, I like it very much. But it is a lot of trouble to get it fixed. The refrigerator defrosting until has gone out three times as well (once in warranty, twice not). Today the unit is not cooling at all. It is hard enough to find someone to service these units outside the big cities, so when we do find someone it takes days for them to get here to diagnose; days to receive parts; and days more to fix.
I will never buy another Dacor product! I will say this, the Dacor headquarters have tried to help and even gave discounts on parts, but 5-year appliances should never have these many issues. Our last kitchen was 100% KitchenAid and we never had one problem with anything for 6 years!

Like many of you on this site, when we remodeled our kitchen in 2000, I researched and decided to shell out the extra money for the highly recommended and higher priced Dacor everything. We got a double oven, glass 30" cooktop and an exhaust fan. 12+ years later, I wish I had bought GE! My ovens have had so many problems I can't even count. Basically, the temperature doesn't hold correctly. I have used oven thermometers and my husband's fancy gauge to check temp. I had a whole transformer and control panel changed out in hopes that it would correct the problem, but it didn't. I think it has something to do with the self-cleaning. I think it gets so hot that it fries the controller. I never use the broiler so it's not like I left the door open and wasn't supposed to.
This afternoon I set the oven to preheat to 350. I set my little cakes inside that I was making with my grandson. About 5 minutes later, it smelled like something was burning so I checked the little cakes. They were already charring on top and then I noticed that the top element was fiery red, basically on broil! What the heck?! This is ridiculous! I'm not going to spend another $500 for another repair! I am waiting to see what the repairman says.
On another note, my stovetop cracked twice! The last time, Dacor was nice enough to sell one to me at cost and my husband was able to install it. It didn't match the old one and I was told by Dacor that they don't make them anymore and that is made by a third party supplier now. The old one had a textured finish and this one is just very shiny and scratches so easily! I hate it. We also had a retractable exhaust fan put in because the stovetop is in an island. Every time I turn it on, my basement smells like whatever is cooking. Now the buttons don't work anymore. That is unless I jab them so hard with a sharp object that it finally makes enough contact to work! This is another part that we got at cost that my husband had to crawl around and repair that still doesn't work.
So, all three Dacor appliances we bought have turned out to be very disappointing purchases. Dacor should stand behind their products better, offer longer warranties or better yet, build better products! I would never recommend these products to anyone!

I wish someone had told me of the problems before I spent over $5,000 on a range which should be useable, not just pretty to look at which also doesn't happen when the oven is all stained. Burners are tinny and don't begin to compare with the Thermador I have in my other home. I will never purchase another Dacor product.

I was and, I repeat, was a loyal Dacor customer. I gutted and rebuilt a kitchen 9 years ago and purchased a Dacor stovetop, oven and microwave. I remodeled my new house 5 years ago and again purchased Dacor stovetop, oven and microwave. Consumer reports provided favorable reviews of the appliances I purchased below.
First red alert: The oven Model MORS130S and Microwave Model DCM 24S LED did not match. The microwave was green; oven was blue. The brochure was in black and white so there was no way of knowing that aesthetically they were a mismatch ... it was very sloppy(!) and very deceptive by Dacor. I mean when I waited weeks for my appliance order and the oven is already installed with a big fat ugly LED screen, what was I supposed to do, yank it out and start all over again? This was disappointing!
Next, I was simmering chili on the stovetop (5 burner, gas) and, lo and behold, 18" flames started exiting through the turn knobs resulting in a meltdown. The gas was leaking through the tubes underneath the stovetop. I just happened to check the chili while I was gardening to watch the house almost burn down and btw, it was difficult to put out the flames because the natural gas was leaking under the unit. Seriously! I called customer service and they got hopping right out to fix the issue. This scared the heck out of me. It is negligent to have a product like that on the market.
After about 13 months into the life of the Model MORS130S oven, the touch panel failed emitting a CO1 error message. I was told it was $140 to fix it and that the panel was defective, great quality there, Dacor. And the added joy to the CO1 error message is that the unit beeps intermittently all day and all night long unless the power to the oven is killed. Joy... now another issue - Model MORS130S oven LED lights are burning out. Seriously, what else will there be? Now it's $175 for LED panel and another $100 to install by an authorized Dacor service man.
So I called Dacor back again today because the LED light out was annoying me. They offered nothing. To be fair, my appliances are out of warranty but seriously, Dacor nearly burned my house down. They should be winning me back as a customer if they really cared about their customers and having long term repeat business. Never again, Dacor, never!

After five unanswered calls to the customer service number, we were finally able to get through; not that it made a difference. Dacor appliances were installed in a new home I purchased. The refrigerator has been out of service every single year since purchasing the home. So far, two thermistors, one power supply board, one drip pan heater and one ice maker. Every time the unit fails, I have to wait several days for the "authorized service" provider to come to the house. That will then result in the need to secure a part that will require anywhere from three days to three weeks before the unit can be placed back into service. As you might guess, perishables don't last that long, so every event results in the loss of hundreds of dollars of food.
After yet another extended outage experience, I called Dacor to find out what they might propose to make sure my refrigerator actually performs in a reliable manner (apparently I didn't get the fridge with that feature). The short version of the story is that they not only failed to ever apologize for the fact that their product doesn't work, they insisted I produce detailed documentation covering the last four years of service before they would consider taking any action. Shame on me for not keeping all the invoices from the two service companies.
After numerous exchanges, an offer to pay for the part associated with the last repair, not the labor, was the best they could do. Apparently, $250 is too much for Dacor to invest in a customer who has paid several thousand dollars in repair bills and lost hundreds of dollars of food for a unit that is four years old. This is a company who obviously cannot design a product that works consistently and can't provide after sales support in an effective manner.

Two years ago, we redid our total kitchen at considerable expense. All of the appliances we replaced were made by Dacor. They included: 1) a 36-inch refrigerator model EF 36/wf; 2) a dual wall oven, model EO230SCH; 3) a gas cook top, Model RGC304; 4) a dishwasher, ModelEDWH24S and; 5) a range hood, ModelEH3012SCH. The problems started within a two months of installation. The refrigerator stopped running due to a relay failure and a compressor problem; both were replaced by Dacor at no cost to us. It was inconvenient but not costly. A short time later, the lower wall oven stopped working as well as the lights in both ovens. This required the replacement of the main control panel (control circuit board). Dacor paid to have it repaired. The clock does not keep accurate time and gains about an hour a day. We decided to leave it well enough alone and did not have it fixed. After the one-year warranty expired, the lower oven quit again. This time, it had to be removed from the wall and an exhaust fan in the lower oven was defective and had to be replaced. Dacor’s initial response was it was out of warranty, so it was up to me to cover repairs.
They eventually agreed to supply the part (about $90) but we had to spend several hundred dollars to install. Now, the lower oven takes an extremely long time to heat up, and again we decided to leave it well enough alone. Recently, there was a loud flash in the vent hood; one of the bulbs apparently burned out. My wife tried to turn off the lights in the hood but the light switch apparently blew when the light went and could not turn them off. After a couple of burned fingers and a melted bulb removal tool, I managed to get the other bulb out. A call to Dacor got the usual out of warranty response. I called the local Dacor authorized service rep. He looked at the problem ($95) and said he would have to call Dacor. After he talked to Dacor, they called me and said they would send a replacement control board but would not pay for the service calls.
The service company said the next service call would be $195. One light bulb burned out: cost $290. I suspect that every hood unit that Dacor made with this control board is also defective. We have had to replace the halogen bulbs with great regularity. We have halogen bulbs in our boat that have lasted at least 15 years. There was another complaint on this board that had a similar problem with the vent hood. He decided to fix it himself. He is an Electrical Engineer his comments are worth reading and speak to the inadequate design of this unit.
It is a shame that the Dacor appliances appear to be near the bottom in terms of reliability. Consumer Reports that their gas cook tops appear to be the least reliable. It looks like I have something to look forward to. Needless to say, I cannot recommend Dacor to anyone. In fact, I would recommend that they not purchase any Dacor product that does not have a full multi-year warranty.

We certainly apologize for the inconveniences that you have experienced. We are glad to hear that the refrigerator was addressed while in the manufacturer's warranty period. For the appliances that were out of warranty, Dacor did review your files and took into consideration your experience as a whole. There is no standard out of warranty responce, as every situation is a it different and whether in our beyond the warranty period, we believe that our customers are better off for having contacted us directly for assistance if service is needed. When time allows you to address any current outstanding concerns with the wall oven, we will be here to support you and your appliances.

I purchased a Dacor range/oven combination in 2005 for a total kitchen remodel. I chose Dacor for its name and reputation for quality. The first problem was that the digital clock was running very fast; that occurred in October 2005 and was covered by the warranty. The next problem was that the downdraft would not stop going up and down. I had to turn off the breaker switch of that function until the repairman could fix it. The next problem I consider as a design flaw and not an oven malfunction. Both oven lights were burned out by June 2010 and needed replacing. The light bulb cover for my model is behind a grid for the oven racks which must be removed before the light can be accessed. It’s not a 5-minute job.
The next problem was in September 2010 when the oven broiler refused to work. Another service call was needed to replace the oven broiler ignitor. The next problem was in June 2011, when the oven rack, which slides into cavities built into the rear wall of the oven, refused to release. It required another repair call. The repairman had to pull the oven out away from the wall and work to release the rack. As a result, I do not use that rack. There's no one who uses the oven besides me; I have no kids in the house. The oven has never been misused or abused. The next problem was in November 2012, when the self cleaning feature refused to work; another repair call was needed.
All of the above cost me $1,250. When I contacted Dacor about the myriad of problems/issues, I got a written reply that said every situation is reviewed on a case by case basis; in most out of warranty cases, Dacor would sell me the part I needed at a reduced price. I responded that would necessitate two service calls (one to diagnose, one to fix) and an inoperable oven for however long it would take to get the part and then reschedule the repairman. In almost all of the above, my repairman (Dacor authorized repairman) had the parts on his truck. I can't be waiting weeks without a functioning oven.
Based on all of the above, my oven would have been out of order for many weeks. I wrote Dacor again, thinking the CEO needs to know about all these problems. I asked my contact to forward my correspondence to the CEO for review/comment. Instead, I got a reply from the customer service supervisor who stated in part on his 1/3/13 email, "There tends to be a disproportionate amount of negative postings on-line”. Really? Most companies pay attention to complaints or compliments about their product or service. If someone takes the time to communicate, then the company owes its shareholders the duty to listen when there are repeated complaints about their product. Will I buy Dacor again? Never.

I purchased a Dacor refrigerator. I needed to order filters. I called Dacor and ordered paying $178 plus a $29 2nd day shipping. They sent the wrong filters. The invoice is right. Outside box is right but inside were two Whirlpool filters. I called and asked them to send return label to ship back and to send the right filters. Deidra, the manager in customer service, said "No, you must return those filters and yes, you were sent the wrong filters. They will come back into our warehouse and we will then send out your new filters." I said I paid 2nd day because I needed them now. She suggested me paying for two more. Whatever. I told her to send return label and I will order somewhere else. I wish I would have seen 226 consumer complaints before ever ordering anything from them.

We do apologize for the inconveniences that you have experienced. If you need further assistance in ordering replacement filters, please contact us directly at (888) 438-3226.

We built a new home in 2004. All appliances were Dacor. Since then, the oven has had to be repaired 4 times; the microwave had to be replaced; the cooktop has had two repairs and now will not light automatically; and the patio barbeque completely burned up and some of the parts melted. I did report that to the company and to the US Product Safety Commission. We have not abused any of these appliances and have followed the manufacturer recommendations all of the time. Dacor charges top dollar for their appliances, but they are not as good as cheaper brands. If you try to contact Dacor, they have a well-so-what attitude.

We do apologize for your experiences. We do show that you have contacted Dacor in the past, and we have been able to assist. If you continue to experience issues or have any further concerns, please contact us before service has been completed and we can always review your experience to see how we can help. I recently purchased a 5-burner Dacor cook-top and have been very disappointed. I relied on the advice of my local appliance dealer (Liebert's). The following issues exist: (1) when you are boiling a pot of water on the right or left side, the knobs become very hot to the touch and create a safety hazard (Dacor knows this and their engineering department will probably re-model the unit); and (2) the paint has come off on all the knobs and the glass light indicator broke. This unit has been used for six months. I would not purchase another Dacor product because I feel the quality is subpar.

I submitted a review regarding a repair on this same refrigerator Dacor EF42BDCBSS back on 10/29/12 and 10/31/12. We now have another repair bill in the amount of $486.42 for a drain pan kit and defrost thermostat. I tried to contact Dacor by phone and email to talk about the situation, but have not received a response. I would highly recommend that you think twice about buying a Dacor brand refrigerator.

We apologize for experience and are glad that we were able to help defray some of the repair costs, as well as help expedite the service repair for you. Should you have any future concerns, feel free to contact your Dacor Customer Service Representative directly.

This appliance has been nothing but trouble and Dacor's response has been less than stellar. It was installed for about 4 years and so far, we have had to replace the electronics once and the racks twice. If it weren't 30 inches wide, I would have replaced this thing long, long ago.

Thank you for contacting Dacor in regards to your dishwasher. As we have in the past, we are happy to continue to support you and your appliance. We will always provide you with options in assisting you with any further concerns.

We remodeled our kitchen in the fall of 2009 and decided to purchase what we thought were higher end Dacor appliances (stove top, oven and microwave). Well, what a mistake that turned out to be. Considering the price we paid for the appliances, you would not expect problems from all 3. Perhaps a problem with 1 appliance, but problems with all 3 suggest a real quality problem. My first indication should have been when I called and asked how to change the green LED on the microwave to blue to match the nice blue LEDs on the oven mounted right below. I was told that someone else makes the microwave and Dacor just puts their name, and that I should just turn off the LED on the microwave. I don't know if that is true, but that is what I was told.
Now when using the microwave/convection feature, the oven makes a noise (sounds like a fan motor) for the first 3-5 minutes then eventually quiets down. A daily reminder of the mistake we made purchasing Dacor. Then those nice blue LEDs on the oven started failing making it impossible to read the clock, timer or temp. Luckily, the oven still works; you just cannot read the LED any longer. This is a constant reminder of the mistake we made buying Dacor as we see the LED every time we walk into the kitchen.
Finally, we have the solid surface electric cooktop. Although it works fine, the black paint on the metal trim around the stove top is wearing off. Now, we have some shiny metal and some black trim. This is just an annoyance and honestly, we probably would not have even complained about it. However, with the other problems we have had with Dacor, it just adds to our overall disappointment with Dacor. If I knew then what I know now, I would be a lot happier because I would have GE appliances and not these overpriced low quality Dacor appliances.

I have 2 single ovens side by side and have a cooktop and ventilation system - my experience with the cooktop and vent (2000) was so good that I did not hesitate to buy Dacor MorS130S ovens. They were installed in my new kitchen in September of 2012. I had my cooktop and ventilation system reinstalled. My daughter accidentally cleaned the oven without taking out the GlideRacks (which are hard to take out). We oiled them, etc., like the manual says if they are accidentally left in - they will not glide at all and now I am being told $300 each to replace excluding the cost of the service call. This is ridiculous. What kind of design is so poor that racks would get in this condition? I had Bosch ovens before and their warranty was wonderful and I, luckily, bought a Miele dishwasher which has a 10-year warranty. I would not buy Dacor again because of the warranty and because of this problem. I am beyond disappointed as I love my cooktop etc. I feel that Dacor should at least pay for part of these GlideRacks.

We certainly understand that accidents can happen and would invite you to contact Dacor directly at (800) 793-0093 extension 2813 for further assistance. When calling, please provide your contact information and mention this post.

I completed a 7-month total remodel of our kitchen and family room, which were connected in November 2007. The kitchen remodel cost $18,000 for various Dacor appliances including the Millenia series of wall oven MOV130S; warming drawer MWDV30; and 42" island hood DHI42130. The remaining includes the huge 30" Epicure dishwasher ED30SCP, 36" cooktop EG366SCH, and beverage center EF24LBCSS. All have the beautiful copper accent package and make for highly attractive appliances. We constantly receive accolades for them. If only they weren't absolute garbage functionally and reliability-wise. Others have remarked how the ignitors on the cooktop continually spark, even after the light off.
After contacting Dacor and waiting 2 weeks for the repair, for which Dacor sent the wrong part and caused another 2-week delay, the repairman had to rip off the front accent lip of the cooktop to reach the base which significantly dented the front lip. The ignitor worked like a champ for 2 days, then click, click, click - constant ignitions. So I cleaned around the ignitor tip with 409, dried it and it worked flawlessly. Thanks Dacor for your own product ignorance and my now dented cooktop. It has worked well since and is a sound product, so far. If only my luck held out.
Next, the wall oven. Very beautiful and my control panel has held out (fingers faithlessly crossed). The oven isn't calibrated though, so follow cooking directions at your own risk. This oven will burn your food if you set the temp and timer to the recommended settings. I have to take off 25-50 degrees and 5-10 minutes of requested cook time or I will smoke any meal. After 2 years of use, I decided to use the cleaning cycle - following the directions to the letter. Forty five minutes into the cycle and kaboo! The front window shattered. Dacor says $700+ for glass replacement; I say send me the part and I'll do it. I got the discounted part for $68; spent 3 hours cleaning and reassembling with care; and the window has held, but I haven't tried the cleaning cycle since. Why roll the dice again?
Ah, now my fave garbage Dacor appliance - the interminable dishwasher. Truly engineered by the diabolical. I just completed my fourth major repair after 5 years of use. First, the drain valve failed after a few months of use causing flood and was replaced under warranty. Then the door seal failed (more flooding) and was also repaired and replaced under warranty. The dishwasher stinks, by the way, as the unit cannot evaporate effectively during drying cycle due to ridiculously poor rear venting design. So I have to leave the door wide open for hours after use to facilitate drying and stench reduction. The control panel/circuit board has fried twice now in the last 3 years - it just starts erratically beeping and refuses to take input, even with a power reset. Both technicians stated the design and quality of the board is third world, which likely is exactly where Dacor outsourced the garbage.
The island hood and warming drawer have worked well, and the beverage center has been reliable but maddeningly causes back left cans of soda to freeze and explode occasionally; even with the set temperature raised to now 45 degrees. Fun to clean up after coming home from a long trip. My expectations are so laughingly low now for these Dacor products that I don't bat an eye with the frozen soda muck this fridge occasionally produces. Customer service though has been helpful and thankfully, American. They have replaced both circuit boards for free well out of warranty. I have only appreciation and great sympathy for the customer service folks who I've spoken with. I love my kitchen, but hate the appliances in it. Never again Dacor. Never again.

Dacor will gladly continue to work with you regarding any concerns that you may have on your appliances.
