I chose Colonial Van Lines because my sister moved two months prior using them and had no issues. Also, their price was good. I moved from Florida to New York. The moving coordinator called me almost every day. It was positive.

I needed to move some furniture from my storage units in Anaheim Hills to Arizona. Colonial had a good rate and they did the estimate by weight. They really couldn't accurately say what I had because all the furniture was already boxed up in the storage units. But they knew the empty weight of the truck. They said they would weigh the truck loaded and would calculate it the best way they could. The crew was polite and very helpful. They were two nice guys.

We were moving three states and thought that Colonial Van Lines would be the best for us after doing some research. The gentleman who called us was completely professional and did a fabulous job. I walked through and gave him an inventory of the house as best I could come up with. There was a video as well. The house was for sale and he went to the effort to look the house up, so he got to see the whole inside of the house through that as well. The quote was on the money.

I love Colonial. They did a good job and called me all the time. That one moving crew did everything, he was a great man. I'd tell a friend or a family member that Colonial are very good and you can trust them.

I chose Colonial for availability and price. It's expensive, but it was about the same as everybody else. I had a good experience. They were professional. They did the packing and I like the way they did it.

My mother asked me to return across the country because she needed help in Ohio. Colonial gave me the best quote of the companies that did cross-country moves. They were very good communicators. I always knew where my stuff was, when it was arriving, and when it was approaching. But the car delivery was a little weird because the guy got annoyed about an old style $50 bill. He said he wouldn't take it. I wondered if he thought he could keep my car. Eventually, I found him a different bill so he would stop doing that. But he really should have just taken the bill. It's legal tender no matter when it was printed. But that did get sorted. The price seemed fair but I can't say it was a sweetheart deal. The service team was 5 stars and they did a good job. I would use them again.

For the most part, we packed it, but they did help on the last-minute. I had asked for help with packing the large pictures that were on the wall, but these were 2-foot x 3-foot, big picture frames. They did get broken.

My son was moving and I called several companies, but we ended up choosing Colonial because of the person I spoke to originally. Everything about the move was excellent except for the lack of communication about when the stuff was gonna get where it was going. My son was trying to coordinate all these things, like when he had to buy an airline ticket and with his car being shipped separately. He just didn't feel like he got communicated with very well. He went out there early because he didn't want to miss them. But everything else was very good and I would certainly recommend Colonial to a friend or family member. Overall, the experience was very positive.

I was moving out of state. I looked at four companies but chose Colonial since they are a national company that I have seen everywhere. They weren't the highest or the lowest bid, but they seemed more reasonable than the others.

Colonial Van Lines is efficient, dependable, right priced and easy to work with. I was moving 500 miles for retirement and all of the administrative part went really well. It was very accurate and as things changed, they were very quick to adjust what it was going to cost or how much room it was going to take. They were right in step with the whole process. I've made a lot of military moves, and usually, they come in with all of their own boxes and materials and do all the packing. I wasn't sure if Colonial was going to be doing that or not. I did some of my own packing but I ran out of time. I was busy and there was a lot to do. But they came in and did the rest.

Colonial Van Lines had good reviews so I went with them. Setting up the move was fine. I just sent them a list of things I had to move, and it was all good from there.

I tried to google major van lines dealing with the East Coast and interstate and Colonial Van Lines was one of the ones that came up. They had good reviews on a website and that was how I got them. The estimation process went smoothly. I discussed the inventory with an agent a couple weeks in advance, estimating the number of boxes and the projected weights of items. They have their own metrics for costs, and the discussions made the move predictable and hassle-free.

Colonial Van Lines provides excellent service. It's a full-service moving company, and they did exactly what they said they would do. I was moving 900 miles, from Miami to Texas to be with family. They were very helpful and went out of their way to please us.

I was changing my residence, moving from Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Joplin, Missouri. When I did a search on moving vans, Colonial Van Lines came up that they were one of the most reliable and lesser expensive so I chose them. They told me how many boxes I could have, how much it was gonna cost and how to prepare. Everything was very accurate. It was very good. I had an apartment to move, not that much furniture. Two men came and they did an excellent job. Nothing was damaged. Everything got here and delivered the next day perfectly in Joplin. I was very pleased with their service. I would use them again, definitely.

This was a move for my son that I was coordinating and he had a very odd schedule, and Colonial was very accommodating and able to work with us to get things taken care of. The moving coordinator was very helpful and cooperative. The service was on point and everything got done appropriately. Everything was on time when they said it was gonna be. They told us what was expected, what would happen when they got there, so we were prepared for them. Price and schedule worked well. Everything got there without damage. They put everything back together as they took it apart, and they were fast and efficient. I have nothing but great things to say about that crew and that team.

Colonial Van Lines subcontracted the actual movers, but the two guys who came did a great job. They got down to Florida sooner than I expected. I’m by myself and they helped me get everything in. They were very kind about letting me see the room. Then if I wanted things moved or shifted around, they moved it until it was where I wanted it. Everybody was very helpful and nothing was damaged or broken.

I liked the guy from Colonial. I didn’t have time to mess around because it was an emergency type thing, and he was on the up and up. The quote was lower than I thought it was going to be, initially, and then it turned out to be a little bit higher in the end because it was more weight than they had anticipated. But my daughter is a hoarder so I couldn’t blame them. I do remember that when I unpacked it, there was a lot of paper and a couple of extra boxes weren’t needed, and I know that’s extra charge. But the guys who unloaded everything were very nice and helpful, and that makes up for it a lot. Nothing is 100% perfect so overall, in the big picture, I wouldn't mind hiring them again.

I used a major moving company before and they were horrible, so when Colonial popped up in my feed and had good ratings, I chose them. They gave me good deadlines of when they were coming and they were actually able to deliver a little bit earlier, where the previous company, I didn't know it was gonna take so long. They lowballed the quote in both moves, though. I had a lot of stuff and they didn’t know how heavy it was gonna be. But they got right back with me if I had questions and everything was positive.

We were relocating from Florida to Oklahoma and we picked Colonial because of the estimate that was given. The account manager was kind and answered any questions that I had, but he left out some information as far as things that the drivers would and wouldn't take. We ended up having to toss a lot of our liquids because they said they couldn't take them on the truck. Even if they weren't open, they wouldn't take any of it. If we would have been told, then my husband could have put that stuff in his car when he was driving to Oklahoma. It was a ridiculous amount of stuff that we had to throw away. That was a lot of money. Other than that, they packed my stuff well. The guys were nice. That was something that was not their fault. It was a good experience.

Colonial Van Lines was top-rated and gave the best quote. Their customer service was also very good.

Colonial Van Lines accommodated me when I had to move my stuff from Louisiana to North Carolina and needed a rig that could get into the storage place. I booked a non-refundable hotel for Tuesday but then the movers got stranded in Texas and were not gonna make it. Instead of Tuesday, they were gonna move me Wednesday. They ended up crediting $115 on my account for the hotel that I lost.

We got a couple of different quotes and Colonial Van Lines seemed like the best option. We moved out of a five-bedroom house in Ohio to Maryland, which was about 400 miles. We got rid of a lot of stuff before we moved and the total weight came down to 19 tons. So, it was a big move and it happened over a couple of days. The movers packed up all the boxes but there were certain sections that had labels that would stay. We instructed them on that, but they still took a chair that I had to bring back. They had all the boxes labeled for the basement, first floor and second floor but they ended up taking some of the stuff that was for the second floor onto the basement. So they didn't put the boxes in the right location for unpacking. It was not a big deal because we just moved them later.

Colonial Van Lines fitted my budget and I hired them for my move from Maryland to my retirement home in Georgia because I need to move quickly. But when I began digging into it and looked at Yelp, they didn't get a lot of good reviews and I got concerned because it seemed only 30% of their transportation and delivery goes off without a hitch at best. But my experience was great.

My wife used Colonial Van Lines in the past, and this time, I used them for a move from Texas to Michigan which took a couple of days. However, I don't feel the estimate for the number of boxes per room ratio was correct. We were way under. The person we talked to to set up the move was friendly but some of the movers were a little grouchy. Other than those, I'd still recommend Colonial Van Lines.

Process went very smoothly; all items were delivered on time with no hiccups. Employees were very knowledgeable and helpful including the contractors (Premier). All went well. Would recommend this company for out of state moving.

Colonial Van Lines is a large company that's been around for many years, and I used them when I moved from Florida to Massachusetts. However, the schedule of the men who moved me on the second day was delayed by a day, and no one informed me about that. I had to sleep on the floor with no furniture that night. Other than that, the experience was very good, and I'd still recommend Colonial Van Lines.

Colonial sent one mover for a two-bedroom apartment, and he was amazing. He moved couches by himself. He moved so much stuff by himself, where it would take two to three people to do. I can't give enough praise to the mover himself. But I have no idea whatsoever why they would send one person to do a move like that. Any other company would have at least two, if not three. That's extremely unfair to the mover himself.

It all started on November 5th when we had a scheduled pickup from Colonial Van Lines between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. By noon, when the movers hadn’t arrived, we called customer service. The representative didn’t have any information and promised to call us back, but after an hour with no response, we called again. This time, we were told the movers would arrive between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. At 8:00 PM, there was still no show, so we called again and were informed that the drivers were running late. By 8:30 PM, we reached out again, but the representative couldn’t provide any updates since it was after hours. They promised to call back, but no one did.

Someone told me about Colonial Van Lines and said they had been satisfied with them. That was enough for me to go with them as well and my experience with Colonial went very well. When they asked me questions or if I had questions for them, we discussed it and everybody seemed to have gotten along really well. I would recommend Colonial to anybody that asked me.

We went through room by room and told Colonial what we had for furniture. We estimated the number of boxes and then, there was an opportunity later to update our estimate. So we then walked around room by room and made a few adjustments. They had everything that we were moving listed. So then, they assigned a weight to every item. It was probably based on averages. But the weight seemed a little high, and we weren't weighing every piece of furniture. We didn't have any way of knowing.

When we moved my mom from West Virginia to Wyoming, Colonial Van Lines was a little bit more affordable than the other moving companies. The initial call from the guy was good. But the overall experience overall experience is a 6.5 to 7 out of 10. But part of it was my mom not understanding what was going on. She's 80 years old and not good with emails. But she signed these documents.

The moving crew did great. They were really good. I'm missing some stuff, but I don't know whether they'll find it or not. I got a subwoofer that's missing, and so there's a box or two laying around over there with my name on it. Other than that, everything went well.

I worked with whoever was my contact at Colonial Van Lines and I was very stressed out by the whole process. Nobody has any good things to say online for any of the companies and we all know the horror stories. But I was able to work with my person who price-matched a competitor, then she gave me an ironclad guarantee, which they honored in the end. The movers were great. Upon checking, I'm missing a vacuum cleaner and I didn't know about it until they left. Also, there was a chest of drawers that broke, but it was one of those knocked-together things, so I'm not blaming them for that. One of the guys was very helpful wit it. He said that it was broken and showed me where he put it. He also told me what I needed to do to file a claim and that they'd take care of me.

I was shipping furniture to my children and they all live in different states. So I had to get three different quotes and Colonial was spot-on. They were pretty reasonable. The moving crew was very professional. They were in, wrapped up everything, and out. I was amazed at how quickly they could do it. The only thing was the payment. I had this furniture shipped to my children, but I was to pay for it, and that was fine. It wasn't clear enough as to how it was going to be done. But it all worked out. The guys were very good with the one shipment, but they could barely speak English and that became a bit of a problem. But we worked through it. There was only one piece that was broken and I anticipated that was gonna happen. It's an extremely delicate piece and it had been broken before when I did a different move. But a clean break could be fixed. It's not a big deal.

Colonial Van Lines are trustworthy and efficient. I found them thru a web search and they seemed to be responsive. I had a good experience getting a quote from them and in the end, they charged me what they quoted me. During the actual move, I had somebody there for the pickup, and I was there for the delivery. Both went well and I had no issues with the items they delivered. Nothing came broken or damaged.

Don't use Colonial Van Lines unless you want additional charges. The quote was fine. But the bullshit was the $1,000 in blankets I had to pay and that wasn't in the quote. That's over the above. It's the bait and switch part. The last move was $600 and the first move was $350. After I complained about it the first time, they were giving me a $150 credit that I never got. After this last move, I won't use Colonial Van Lines again. I'll trash them on social media every chance I get.

I was getting out of the military and I was moving 1,600 miles away. I looked at the reviews online and Colonial Van Lines was, on average, the best. Their coordinator was helpful and in the end, I got exactly what I was told to get. I had a few things I had to get ready when the movers arrived, but for the most part, I was pretty prepared. The process was easy altogether. The only thing was, on delivery, I wasn't getting an email I was supposed to get. But overall, I would recommend them.

Colonial Van Lines ended up being the most affordable of the quotes.

Our family hired Colonial Van Lines for a move from Boulder, Colorado, to Ocala, Florida, and the experience was among the most stressful we’ve ever had. The pickup took place in early June, and we were told delivery could occur as early as June 6. Instead, our furniture did not arrive until June 20, two weeks later, without a single proactive update. The lack of communication, organization, and responsibility caused both financial and emotional hardship.

I'm 82 and I was all alone in Pittsburgh. I wanted to be closer to family and I decided to be with my daughter in Florida. I hired Colonial Van Lines to help me with my move and I'm one of these persons who likes to have all their ducks in a row, so I needed reassurance that the movers would be there on the day they said they would. I was closing on my house that Monday and I had to move the weekend before. We set up the pick-up for that Saturday and they arrived as scheduled.

I tried out a few companies and Colonial Van Lines seemed a little more professional. Initially, I contacted them online and then we had a phone call. They were knowledgeable, very thorough and answered my questions. I did most of my own packing. There were a few larger items that the movers had to wrap, shrink wrap and pad. They boxed up a big vase for example. They were very good and efficient. The move went really well. The person that I dealt with kept changing, so I wasn't always speaking with the same person. Although, when it came to move time, the representative reached out, gave me her name and contact number, and said I could call for anything. So Colonial Van Lines was pretty diligent about making sure I had someone to talk to if needed.

This is not a company to be trusted. They didn't arrive on time. They got to the house late at night when they were supposed to be there early. They gave us a last possible day when the stuff would arrive. We put a tracker in our stuff and it is still sitting in a warehouse in Las Vegas. They are now saying they can't be sure when the stuff will arrive. Customer service is highly trained in giving the run around and not providing any answers. They claim that the information is with dispatch, but they can't possibly contact dispatch to get the information. The supervisor is never available and our contact manager is slow as syrup to provide information.

I did a two-bedroom apartment move, from Pittsburgh to Georgia. A co-worker had used Colonial and I asked for the same one he used and recommended. Colonial sent him and he did great. The lead driver showed up and had two guys here. They were absolutely fantastic and could not have done a done a better job on the loadout.

I had a tight deadline to meet. On the actual moving day, Colonial had their partners come in and do the packing. I had more stuff than I thought, so I ended up needing more help and taking up two 26 ft. vans instead of only one. We lost a couple of things. I can’t find the shelves for one of my curio cabinets despite looking in all the boxes. Overall, they match my expectations. The setup was easy, they were honest, and I was really surprised at how well they did.

Setting up the move with Colonial Van Lines was a little confusing over the phone. I would have rather done it in person, but it was still okay. I was on the phone with a woman and I walked through each room telling her what was going. I forgot several things from the garage, so that meant the price was higher in the end due to the weight. The movers, though, were polite and respectful. They took real good care of all my stuff and they moved fast. I recommend Colonial. They did all right by me.

I had a positive experience with Colonial Van Lines. I needed to move about 870 miles, and Colonial was not the cheapest, but it also was not the most expensive. Their quote was fair. You get what you pay for, so it was okay. And I ended up getting a good feeling about the gentleman that I talked to. He seemed very honest. He didn’t BS me. So, he was really good.

I had a good experience with Colonial Van Lines, but I was dissatisfied because I had something break. It was a large picture frame, about 4 x 3 feet, and the glass shattered. And it’s still in claim. They said it’s 120 days to get processed, which seems a lot, but I think we’re at least at 90 days now. So, I haven’t received any compensation for those. I just got the updated emails saying that it’s still in process.

I heard about Colonial Van Lines through a friend who also used them right before we moved. They had great customer service. The only issue was there at the end, not being sure of when the timeline would actually happen. And we also had ongoing things with our cars at the same time.

They were conscientious and very easy to work with. They didn't give me stories. What they told me was gonna happen and when it was gonna happen, it happened. It was wonderful. I was so impressed. Not one thing was lost, nor was anything broken. You gotta figure it was on the truck with other people's stuff, so it went further than just the 1,182 miles that it normally would've done from one door to another. It went other places as well. They were very good with what they did.

I've just been familiar with Colonial Van Lines for a long time. Our move with them was excellent from start to finish. There was follow-up, information and staying in touch up until the move date. The crew was courteous and communicative. And it went smoothly. No damage. I would highly recommend them.

We had what I thought was a confirmed out of state move date, with an 8am - noon window. At 9, I called to confirm and was told, yes, the window was 8-12. At 11:45 I called back and was told the truck would come the next day. Our job was contracted out to just one man. He did the entire job and was great, but it took 8 hours for a 1300 sq. foot house. I’m giving this place two stars only because of him. I’ve moved plenty, never had an experience like this.

Appalling experience. The initial contact with the coordinator was good, but then everything went downhill... The final cost was 30% more than the initial quote, despite sending a detailed descriptive list of my items (and adding only a couple of small artwork). They have no idea how to wrap artwork or fragile items, a number of my items were damaged (and I have not seen all as some items/boxes are in storage). They told me a week before the move that they needed to use a smaller truck to pick up my items, adding $1000 to my bill. At the other end, I was missing a valuable Persian rug and I had to call/email more than 3 times to get an answer. They finally located it and I got it back. And I have had a box that is not part of my move for now, about 6 weeks, despite sending them numerous emails with the information and sticker number on this box... The owners of that box are probably trying to get their attention too...

The movers were fantastic. They picked up my stuff in Tennessee and moved it to New Mexico. But the people in charge of giving me my ETA were definitely lackluster about it.

This was my second move with Colonial, and there are things I like about the company. However, this time it felt like they put too many jobs in the truck. The move was for two three-bedroom houses and was about 1200 miles. They probably could have used another mover. They were a little bit slow because there were not enough of them for the size of the move and for the whole day of moving two separate households.

I found them over Facebook and they were very economical. Everyone at Colonial Van Lines was very nice, too. I just didn't get a big enough truck. That was my fault, though. They were great.

I went online and found Colonial. Their customer service couldn't be better. I would recommend Colonial Van Lines to any of my friends.

My wife picked Colonial. We described room by room what furniture pieces were in there and how many separate boxes approximately we'd be packing and moving. Moving day went well. We were on the 7th floor, so it was a bit of a challenge for the movers. They charged us extra to get into the apartment building because they said it was a longer distance than their standard to get to their truck, which really didn't seem long to me. We were a little surprised about that. Otherwise, they did a good job. Everything made it up to our place without being broken, which was amazing considering a very delicate china cabinet that was moved.

The moving coordinator that I had was very professional and went through the whole steps of the process, like the bill of lading and all the signing things that I had to do for doing a move. I ended up having to do a change of the whole bill of lading because I thought I had to move more furniture than I actually ended up moving. Colonial Van Lines was able to go through that process with me.

I went to Daytona Beach from Trinidad, Colorado. Ursan, the driver, was outstanding. Colonial Van Lines gotta make sure they keep him. He looked at everything and made sure that I didn't go over, too. I wouldn't have known any better if he hadn't pointed out that I gotta pay attention to the weight. And I didn't go over and was billed exactly what they projected from the very beginning. He also kept up with me while he was en route, let me know when he was gonna be here, let me know where he was at and what was going on. And everything arrived in great condition. Nothing was dirty or broken. The crews that helped us to pack the stuff on both ends were extremely polite and very considerate. They didn't act like they were just there to hurry up and get the job done and get out. Everything was great for me.

Colonial was fine, but they’re more expensive than some other companies because they subbed it out. Next time, I might look for a local company.

I’ve been with Colonial Van Lines after searching and talking with two or three of them. After talking, I decided to go with Colonial because their prices were competitive and the service, I got on the phone was really good.

We just looked up Colonial Van Lines on Google. We just did our research and compared the prices and reviews to other ones and picked Colonial. The lady that coordinated the move on the phone was a little bit of a scatterbrain. Not very good communication. The movers were already there loading up and she called after the fact that they were coming that morning. I can overlook that because the important part is the guys that are actually loading it up and unloading it and driving it out here.

The service was great. Everything was as they promised. They reached out when they promised and it was excellent. Everything made it safely to the destination.

I had a good experience, considering the horror stories I've heard. I was pleasantly surprised that everything arrived in one piece and no major issues, just mixed here and there. The pricing was also direct, and I appreciate that. I searched several companies and others didn't have a specific price.

I went through and looked at some reviews and picked Colonial on that basis. The crew who packed everything up was not the entirely the same crew that delivered it and unpacked. The driver was the same, and one other person, but other than that, it was a different crew.

I was just looking up van lines and I was very particular about who I chose because it was my son’s stuff that we were moving. I eventually picked Colonial Van Lines. They were perfect. The guy was very nice. He called me to update me on everything and he also communicated with my son. Everything was in perfect shape. The boxes were not even damaged. If I have to move again, I will choose them.

Colonial Van Lines seemed to have the best online reviews. Checking a bunch of different van lines, they seemed to have a little better history. They were very responsive and careful.

Colonial was one of the top five best moving companies I typed in. Their website was pretty easy to navigate around and figure out where you needed to be. We sold the house and bought another house and went from New York State to Virginia so we used Colonial Van Lines. The crew was wonderful from beginning to end. The customer service was great.

If you're looking for a moving company that is reliable, careful, and professional, I highly recommend Colonial Van Lines. Dave and Roselyn were great to work with. They truly made what could have been a stressful day feel organized and smooth.

We were trying to empty out my mother's house in Maryland and I needed to get stuff here. My sister found Colonial Van Lines, and she thought the customer service person, Anthony, was really great. So, my other sister and I used him. The quote worked out very well. The final price was far better than what it was gonna cost me to rent a truck or a pod and have me do all the work. The transit time was a bit off, but that was okay. I wasn't in a hurry for it. I was just concerned the longer it stays out there, the longer potential damage could occur. But we didn't have any damage. So, that was good.

I moved from Quincy, Massachusetts to Westchester County, New York, which is quite a distance. Between all the quotes I got from other places, I had the best quote from Colonial and they were the most flexible in terms of if my estimates in terms of furniture, number of boxes, so on and so forth, wasn't accurate, they would be willing to add on. And the pricing to add it on wasn't too terrible considering it was all based off of weight, so it was just easier for me to go with Colonial for that. I had two representatives when we were starting out on a quote, then once my moving process was getting started, they were both really excellent with communicating. If I had any questions, they were very attentive. Since I was moving at a weird time, which was over the weekend, they let me know that they didn't work on these days, but they would check in with me as soon as they could to see how everything went.

The first contact we had with the rep from Colonial on the phone, he was incredibly transparent, very honest. He told us what he could do, what he couldn't do. Then we got two other companies involved. One of them, when we told them we're going to Colonial, he said, “They don't deliver. They're just a broker. They're gonna take it and they're gonna give it to someone else. You're never gonna know whether your stuff's gonna get there.”

We were doing a move from state to state, and so we looked at moving companies that offered that. We looked at four, got estimates from three. And we chose Colonial because they had decent reviews, and their salespeople were very knowledgeable. The packers and movers were awesome. They did an incredible job. It was an all-around good experience. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I started doing some research online and Colonial Van Lines was so easy to work with from the first call. I was facilitating for an elderly friend of mine and her daughter met them on the other end. There were two small breakable things that broke, but they dealt with it. Other than that, the service was great and I have no complaints at all. They were on time and communicative with things like when they would be there. I would definitely recommend.

Colonial's crew is fantastic. I had no issues whatsoever. Everybody did what they said they were gonna do. The cost was pricey, but it was fine.

We used Colonial about four years ago to move from California to Tennessee, and it was a good experience. So, when we had to move back, we used them again. Our customer service experience was very good. They gave us a timeline, and the young man that came and did all the moving did a great job. His name is Pablo. Overall, there was nothing that I could complain about. the experience was what we expected.

I was shopping around for moving companies and I liked what Colonial was advertising. When I spoke with their rep, we discussed everything that was to be moved and he gave me a price. One of the things that I asked him specifically was if Colonial was gonna make the move or do they sub it out to someone. He said they don't do that but it turned out they did. The process was somewhat frustrating because they took what we thought was forever. But that turned out to be a positive because that company that moved us did an excellent job.

Our experience with Colonial has been very good. Their rep, Tatiana, was very personable and made a very good offer. She made excellent arrangements ahead of time and kept us fully informed for what stage the pickup was going to be and likewise the delivery. On the day of pickup, Maxim and his brother came instead of Colonial. They were from IGA which is some outfit from Denver. They labeled everything, strapped everything, and got in the truck very promptly. They did an excellent job.

We liked that Colonial Van Lines was available, quick to respond, and they were there in a timely manner. We were in a bit of a time crunch, so the pricing was a little bit more but that was my own personal fault. It doesn't have anything to do with them. We were moving from Florida all the way across to California. The crew that came out had to do the big items which were the bed and a futon. Everything else was already prepacked by the time they got there. Everything got here safe and sound. Nothing was damaged. Overall, we were impressed primarily that they were reliable. The biggest thing that we were worried about was the timeliness of everything, so the fact that Colonial was able to get back to us and let us know everything in the game plan that was gonna go down was the main thing.

Very efficient service. The movers came on time and completed the move swiftly, without anything broken and on time. Will highly recommend. This was for an interstate move to be completed in a day. Very satisfied.

Horrible experience. They don’t even know where my household goods are being stored. Will not deliver on the day I’ve requested from day one. Showed up in wrong sized vehicle for the amount of pounds in estimate. Took ten hours to load. Failed to honor competitor’s pricing as promised. Cannot recommend to others in any situation.

🚨 DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY 🚨. Colonial Van Lines is NOT a moving company — they are a BROKER who lies to customers to secure business. I paid for my move six weeks in advance only to learn 48 hours before my move that Colonial had no carrier scheduled and had handed my move over to a completely different company, Fathers and Sons — the exact situation they promised would never happen.

After looking at several companies, I chose Colonial based on reviews and their quoted estimate price. Sales pitch was good. In prior moves with national companies, the company conducted the move. In this case, Gulf Coast Vanlines showed up, not Colonial trucks or crew. They did show up on time. The delivery was not so good.

I recently moved from California to Oregon. While I understood that household moves can involve a degree of logistical complexity, what I experienced was a troubling lack of accountability, transparency, and integrity. Shortly after my belongings were picked up, I requested a delivery update. To my surprise, I was informed that my items had already been delivered — which was categorically untrue. This miscommunication was only the beginning of an extremely frustrating process during which I had to consistently initiate follow-up inquiries to obtain even basic information regarding the whereabouts of my shipment.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST! DO NOT choose Colonial Van Lines. I chose Colonial Van Lines for two specific reasons: they claimed to be a full-service mover, not a broker, and their reviews spoke highly of their communication. When all is said and done NONE of that was true. After being sold by Anthony Perrone on the promise that Colonial was a full-service moving company, we were shocked to find ourselves handed off to a third-party company—despite having paid Colonial directly. Had I known we’d be brokered out, I would have chosen a different company from the start. Once he got our money, the communication dropped off and the customer service went out the window.

DO NOT USE COLONIAL VAN LINES. My moving experience has been horrendous. The company is a broker and the moving companies they call "agents" are horrible. There is a long list including time of arrival on pick up, the trucks they use and the delay in delivery. But the icing on the cake is my Harley. Was told they know how to move a Bike, they don't. First, they moved our stuff into storage after pick up, then when reloading into another truck, they attempted to drive my Harley up a ramp (which is not attached) to the truck and both the driver and my Harley fell off the ramp. The driver actually had to go the ER. Then on delivery no way to get the Bike off the Truck.

Do not under any circumstances use Colonial Van Lines. They are the absolute worst. I was supposed to have my stuff delivered on a Saturday and Sunday. I get a call on Saturday night after 5 o’clock that it won’t be here till Monday now at a time which is inconvenient because I have to work and pick up my kids. On top of that the account manager had no communication whatsoever through the whole process. The itemized form had to be redone three times and they still messed it up at the very end. I still do not have my stuff and they are by far the worst moving company do not use them stay far far away.

The person that I talked to from Colonial Van Lines to get the quote was extremely knowledgeable, confident, and seemed like he knew what he was talking about. Some of the other people, they didn't know anything and they wouldn't commit to anything. Initially, I was gonna move to Virginia. And then I had some life circumstances dramatically change, and they helped me switch it to move to New Jersey instead. They were very patient with me.

Our claim was resolved to our satisfaction.

It's been almost a year since I used Colonial. I liked their price and I used them for packing and moving. It went well, however, I didn't realize there'd be so much wrapping up of stuff. It was weird that the guy asked for a tip later, though.

I was happy with the service by Colonial Van Lines. It was 3,000 miles to and from and the crew was fantastic. I was in North Carolina moving to Nevada. Communicating with them was good and easy. I got everything fine. The cost was less than what I expected, because I had just moved from Nevada to North Carolina two years previously and I was expecting to pay more than I did. So, I was happy with it.

I would recommend Colonial Van Lines highly because they did a good job for us. They had two other deliveries and they couldn't take everything that we needed, but they took as much as they could. I was very pleased with them. The crew marked everything and did a very good job. We had to drive an hour to the next destination and the move took a few hours. They even moved some stuff I didn't think they would be able to move. There was a really big dresser and they moved it to the third floor. I didn't think they would be able to get it up there, but they did. It was really good.

I would urge anyone to never use Colonial Van Lines for a move. After their high pressure sales tactics I signed on to have them move my family's home across the country. They convinced me through their sales pitch that I had nothing to worry about. We had preferences on when they came during the pick up and delivery windows and they assured us they would try to honor that preference. Very funny. They came on the earliest pick up day so we had to hustle to be ready then blew right past the end of the delivery window. They piled on several extra packaging charges without running them by us first.

This company is such a scam. I truly believe any good reviews are from the company alone. They will promise so much and easily take your money because after they do you're screwed with whatever happens next. Don’t believe the delivery time, it’s bullshit. And don’t believe the quote. They will charge additional for everything after they load the truck up with your belongings. Will never use them again and will make sure I continue to share how horrible they are as a company until they go under.

Price increase after initial quote $6000 vs &10000 on day of move. Lots of minor damage to items upon deliver- scratched and dents, crushed boxes. Lack of communication on day of delivery- they were 7 hours late. Took 3 weeks to deliver, had to make numerous calls for information- poor customer service. Used third party mover- only 2 guys and could not find any information about Father and Sons Movers online. I felt mislead about moving process and cost- there were many add ons such as number of steps cost, shuttle van etc. I would NOT recommend this company.

I moved from Florida to Michigan, and it took maybe five or six days. The move itself was great. The guy who moved my stuff was amazing. He was professional, respectful, and punctual. And the crew was also great for pick-up. It was the same guy for the delivery as well. He literally did whatever I wanted in terms of placing furniture in different locations. The only thing that annoyed me was the initial financial agreement versus the final. I felt like the cost was a lot. But everything else was fine.

Colonial Van Lines was convenient in terms of the time, and I opted to use them. The coordinator was very helpful and the crew was great. I had most of my stuff boxed up. So they were just wrapping furniture and then moving it out. The move was about 500 miles, and it was simple.

Kind of an older guy who came with two amazing employees. The employees were great. I gave each one of them a $100 tip because they were so good and so thorough. And the older guy got nothing. The manager. The truck driver. He seemed to kind of hang down by the truck while the young guys did everything. Maybe he was working hard. I was up in the unit. He may have been packing, driving, doing whatever. So then the communication with Colonial's customer service wasn't great on the scheduling side. I had to upgrade to a manager to get a confirmation when they were gonna pick up my goods. Then I had the actual movers who were subcontractors, so I never really felt like I was working with Colonial.

Colonial Van Lines was one of the first companies that reached out to me. In the beginning, my experience was fine. But when I would call and leave messages about the move, I got no return. I tried to call Diana, but she didn't call me back. But I spoke to other people, and they were very helpful. The crew that I had pick up my furniture and bring it to me were fabulous. They packed a few things, the TV, and some glass tables. During the delivery, they put my bed back together. The furniture was put where I wanted it. The quote was fair as well. I'd tell others to use Colonial Van Lines.

The Colonial Van Lines crew that loaded us up were great. The crew that unloaded us was also great. The only thing that was problematic was that the local crew they hired didn't get there on time, so I felt sorry for the guys that had to work harder because they didn't show up on time. They worked an additional couple hours where the other guys just came at the end.

I can recommend Colonial Van Lines to others. The moving experience was good. It started in Florida and ended in Maryland. When Colonial called us, we told them what was in each room and they estimated it. The driver came, and checked and stickered every inventory. They slowly started moving the things. It took four hours but everything went well on moving day. They took care of it nicely because they had to wrap furniture.

My experience with Colonial Van Lines was smooth. They followed up. They went there and packed up everything. It was short and easy. The only thing that was a little different was some of the added-on costs at the end.

My husband was looking online for moving companies. They had very good reports and reviews, so that's why we chose Colonial. The move went fine. They were very good. The only problem we had was there was a little lack of coordination with the time they came to pick up and when they dropped off the furniture. Other than that, everything was great.

From start to finish, communication and follow-up have been very good. The initial pickup, transportation of items, to the delivery was made easy to understand the process with how stressful a move can be. Surprised with the offer to assemble beds and tables were offered to make the final delivery even easier. Date of experience: July 25, 2025.

The coordinator who helped me get scheduled for the moving process with Colonial Van Lines was great and very helpful. He spent over an hour with me on the call, working through all my questions and firming up the quote.

I chose Colonial because it was one of the few that said they owned their own fleet. The moving coordinator was efficient and very responsive. I was moved around to a couple of different people, and the price did go up a couple of hundred dollars, which I didn’t fully understand. But people were pretty efficient about calling and explaining next steps.

I googled and found Colonial Van Lines. I spoke with three other companies and I felt like Colonial was offering the best price and the best value. I was relocating for my job that time. The moving coordinator was very good, very thorough, asked really good questions about the furniture and the number of boxes. I felt very prepared going into the day of the move.

My experience with Colonial Van Lines was mediocre. They should have online stuff. And they should be able to have multiple people help you. It shouldn’t be where you have to talk to the same person, and if that person is busy, you have to wait to book your move. But their movers were excellent. I didn’t have anything damaged during the move.

The moving coordinators at Colonial were very good. They did my house first and then my partner, Diane. They came to Tom's River first. And he was there around 11:00 in the morning. He didn't finish until 5 o'clock. They were very courteous. They knew what they were doing. They handled the furniture with extra care.

Colonial Van Lines were not in contact with the people who actually came out to do the work very well. We Haul Moving was very on top of things. They called on Wednesday, asked if they could come early, but Colonial kept checking in after the fact that things had already happened. They wanted to see how it’s going, and we had already moved. They were late to the game, and they wanted to hear how pick-up was going.

I used Colonial several years ago to transport a bedroom set from my home in Connecticut to my son's home in Virginia. So, when I was looking for a long-haul mover, Colonial was at the top of my list. When I got in touch with them, the representative was extremely professional, very helpful, and gave me a quote right away, which was very reasonable in my opinion.

I did some research online and knew about Colonial Van Lines. When I spoke to their reps, they seemed professional and they knew what they were doing. The drivers were wonderful. Everyone was very helpful and I would recommend Colonial to other people. They went above and beyond in whatever they needed to do.

We saw Colonial had a high rating online. We chose to use them. Scheduling was fine. The pickup was okay and the delivery was excellent. The distance was about 500 miles. Communication like was very good. They resolved all the issues. Everything was good.

Worst company I have ever worked with. They are liars, cheats and they will steal your stuff, damage your stuff. They won't take any responsibility. Do not hire this company. If you do tread lightly and know that you are going to be in for the worst nightmare of your life. This is the worst company. You could ever hire to move your stuff. They're not on time. They don't honor their agreements and like I said they will damage your floor and act like they didn't do it even though I have proof that they did it. Do not hire this company. You have been warned. Nor did we receive.

We called a couple of companies to establish pricing, and the pricing of Colonial was comparable to others, and the rep seemed remarkably more capable, more direct, and more trustworthy than the others we were dealing with. His approach made sense. And it seemed to me that he was accurate and truthful throughout it. He built my trust rather rapidly. The movers were solid. They did what they were supposed to do.

I was looking around for different transportation of goods online through Google. I called three different places and Colonial was the lowest price. So, I went with them. Everything went well. We went off because I was also selling my home. So, we had all my pictures of all my goods online. We just went through all the items together. And then it was pretty smooth. The moving date, we already prepacked everything. When the movers came to pick up everything, everything was already boxed up. It was pretty smooth and fast. They were very organized, clean, respectable. They accounted for every item, went over everything twice. It was pretty nice. If you want to relax and take a step back without having to have stress and worry about packing all your stuff and moving it, just to go with Colonial.

The pickup and delivery with Colonial were very difficult. And it was a large time span for both. We were supposed to get 24 hours' notice. I didn't get that for either one, or 48 hours. I was disappointed with the delivery and the pickup dates. Then at one point, I asked to change it, but it really didn't get changed by any days. And I got charged $400 extra for that. I wasn't happy with that.

I was looking for van line services and a couple of review sites suggested Colonial Van Lines as an option. I got a bunch of different quotes from different people and at the end of the day, Colonial was the cheapest. I just graduated and I didn't have extra money lying around, so I went with them. The pickup and the front end were excellent. And they did a good job of reaching out and letting me know what to expect as well as with the coordination and constant communication.

I was promised by the salesperson I talked to that Colonial Van Lines was not a broker and had their own trucks that were labeled and their own men, which was why I went with them. I was not happy to find out days prior to the move that I had been lied to about Colonial not hiring out to other people. And I wasn't guaranteed to get a truck that was labeled and I had to fight for that, which was very nerve-wracking. I would have preferred to go to someone directly, which is what I thought I was doing. But the cost is exactly what I expected it to be, so I appreciated that. And it worked out because the contractors they hired worked.

The rep from Colonial I worked with was very good. He was the guy that called us back. We sent an online submission. And he called within five minutes.

Colonial Van Lines was wonderful. They were very kind, fast, and careful. There were very few things that were broken and they were broken probably because of our own packing. I used them a few years ago and I was so impressed that I went ahead and used them again. I also know several people who have used Colonial and they do military moves too. They are considerate movers. One thing I really liked is that we saw the movers that loaded us again at the delivery. You build a rapport with them and I was happy to see them when they came.

I was doing a research on the website and saw Colonial as one of the top-rated moving companies. Also, I liked the process of doing things over the telephone, where it was much easier for me than trying to do a video inventory. The moving coordinator helped very much. He was very professional and helped me walk through everything. Also, when I called him back a couple of times, he answered the phone directly and was able to help me. The pick up was very good. The only thing that happened that was a little frustrating then during delivery was that the inventory numbers were all out of order, and they weren't corresponding with things that were actually there. During the delivery, I had to look at everything as it was going in the door, and then figure out what the actual number of the tag was on the inventory list. But other than that, they were very good. The move was from Oregon to Ohio and it didn’t take that long. Communication was very good. People were calling with updates throughout the whole thing, and it seemed like everything was very good.

I had a good customer service experience with Colonial. I had a last minute issue that they took care of for me. They stepped in when I had a problem. I was very pleased with their reps as well. They did a really good job of pulling up the pictures of the house to estimate what was in it and provided a pretty accurate estimate. Then they talked about options, like storage versus no storage and how much difference the price would be on that. So, that gave me a really good picture. Moving day was pretty good, too. Colonial brokered this out to some other guys that came down from Dallas. They were a third-party mover. They communicated well. They showed up a little earlier than we expected and did the job in about the time that we expected. They started one day packing and had everything loaded out on the second day. Three guys and a full house, I thought they were pretty productive. They talked about how they had some restrictive requirements on what kind of trucking that they had to use. I don't really understand all the details, but essentially, they had to bring one truck and then a trailer for the overflow. They said, if they had had the flexibility to bring a larger trailer, they could have gotten it all into one unit instead of two. Which would have helped them. It didn't really matter to us as far as our experience. But they had to drive two vehicles as a result.

I was looking for a mover, and I used Colonial Van Lines for a move from New Jersey to North Carolina. Most of the movers are brokers. They're not the owners of the moving company. I booked with brokers before, and when they came on the time of the moving, they increased a couple of thousand dollars. Local vendors will charge the right price for them as per their price. That is the difference. So, I wanted to go with the owners of the lines who can move. I'm happy with Colonial Van Lines' service. They picked the stuff as they promised, and they delivered on the next day. I packed before they came. Then they packed the remaining items.

My Colonial Van Lines coordinator was personable, and gave me a genuine interest that I had a successful move. The pick-up and delivery were painless. It went as expected. In fact, I enjoyed the people that I worked with.

I got a competitive quote from Colonial Van Lines. It was good compared to all the items included in the package. We had at least a few times discussion with their rep about my movement plan and dates and schedule apart from how much stuff I need to move and the details of each and individual stuff. Accordingly, we discussed so many things and then it was planned, but it was very smooth. The move was from Florida to Illinois.

Do not use Colonial Van Lines. Once they have your possessions, they delay. My daughter's experience with Colonial on a move from Raleigh to Chicago has been terrible. They refuse to identify the address of where your items actually are. They do not take satisfactory action to get your things delivered after problems arise. They know they have you over a barrel and that you have no recourse. Your complaints get you nowhere. Check out other reviews on social media. They are terrible.

The rep from Colonial Van Lines that we worked with would give me information, but I had to constantly ask for him. After we got the initial contract when I first signed the contract and the deposit, he just sent me to someone else to answer all the other questions, 'cause I always had a lot of questions. But we had a phone call and he asked me how many rooms, and then what furniture. I told him it's only one-bedroom apartment. I started eliminating a lot of things and then at the end, I added something. He also asked me about the sofas, lamps and dining table.

I found Colonial Van Lines on the internet. I needed a quick move date, and they were able to accommodate that. The customer service representatives as well as the drivers were very good.

My move wasn't complicated. It was a furniture only move. Traditionally, with moves, you get into the issues of customers trying to underestimate the boxes they'll need. And that's what results in conflict. I had 28 pieces of furniture. It was very simple in that sense where I took pictures of the furniture. They knew exactly what items were and they knew exactly what the estimated weight was. It worked out well.

I remembered Colonial as being a good, reliable company in the past. I decided to use them and when I was setting up the service, I received good customer service. The driver was excellent. He made the whole experience a relief. A move is never enjoyable, but I breathed a sigh of relief when he came and started talking to me, and I knew his character. I was happy.

My moving coordinator contacted me by email and phone and they let me know all the details of when, where, and how things were gonna happen. So, they're very communicative. I was pretty much packed, but the crew that came in to help move me in the North Carolina side did help pack a few items when I was running behind. They were really nice about it. Colonial's quote was spot on. I've had other moving companies that asked for more money after I got where I was going, so this was very nice. The company is very good, and they don't damage or break your things.

I found Colonial Van Lines online and I went with them for our move. Our move was 800 miles, each direction. Setting up the move wasn't too difficult. They managed to do everything based on pictures. They provided good communication as well and it was a positive experience all throughout.

We moved from Illinois to North Carolina. We went with Colonial Van Lines and so far, so good. The biggest thing was my initial conversation with our account rep, Jamie. She was very open and forthcoming with information. She walked me through the process, and explained why Colonial was rated what they were compared to other companies, and encouraged me to reach out to others to get some different quotes. The customer service was outstanding. My experience with the crew was also very easy. They were very on time and very communicative. They let me know what time they would be there. If there were any delays, they would share that information out there as well. Very detail-oriented, took great care of our stuff, and made sure that we were comfortable with everything they were doing. Overall, it was a great experience both when we were moving out and also when they were dropping off the stuff at the new location.

I decided to go with Colonial for my move from Minneapolis to Pennsylvania because they laid everything out, pricing-wise. I was looking for a moving company to move across the country, and with them being able to pack everything up and move it, it was just the most convenient.
