    The plumber and his trainee were professional and polite. They were the 2nd company and not the 1st that was scheduled to do the service call. The first Plumbing company Burko Plumbers were hired to do my service and never showed up. Burko scheduled my service on a Friday 11:00 to 3:00 and did not come nor did they communicate as to when they would reschedule. Nine days with no hot water.

    Our hot water heater was replaced in January, which went well but took a lot longer than I thought it should. The technician did a great job. This same water heater stopped working and it was the pilot light. We had to pay another $60 fee to have the same company come out. They relit the pilot light that then continued to go out. There was a defect in a valve for the heater and we are still waiting for that to be repaired. It has been 3 wks that we have been without hot water. This is not acceptable. I need someone to call me and get this rectified. Americo

    This is the worst company to deal with. They take your money but never fix anything trying to say it is not normal wear and tear. If you are looking at this company- DON'T. Their customer service is TERRIBLE and they have ZERO integrity.

    Was told when bought policy HVAC would be covered. It died and won’t pay 'cause pictures show rust. Unit was installed in 1997 and has had rust on coils for several years. Unit is serviced every year and each time has to have Freon added.

    I paid for insurance coverage for my home for 1 year. The actual active date was 29 July 2021, information provided to me by Choice Home Warranty via email. On the 8th of August I filed a claim for my upstairs HVAC system. It was not cooling anything. I received a claim number and waited another day before an email said that a company was assigned to look at my unit. Then I received another email saying that it would be two days and they would inspect. The HVAC said they would be there between 7:00 am-1:00 pm. They then sent another email later saying it would be the next day in the afternoon. They arrived the next day. Inspected the unit. Said there was some valve and the compressor that went bad. They said that it could probably not be repairs due to age and trying to find parts. So they recommended a replacement. They said it was normal wear and tear.

    They submitted information to Choice home warranty and later that day I was informed via email that my claim was denied because they claimed it was a pre existing condition. I called the HVAC company asking for the write up that they sent to Choice warranty and they told me that it should have been covered because it was a normal wear and tear item. I filed for an appeal and was told that I would be contacted within 24 hours with a Case manager that would be my 1 and only contact. I was sent an email by my case manager and she said I needed to get on the website provided and set a schedule for a 15 minute call. If we needed any more than 15 minutes I would then have to schedule another time for that.

    I scheduled a time for 9:30 am the following day. This was the soonest available. I also tried calling the case manager and had to leave a voicemail. The call was never returned. Later that day I received an email reminding me of my 9:30 appointment the next day but it said that I would be contacted by two separate case managers'. I sent an email to my case manager asking what was going on but again received no reply.

    The following morning I waited and when the time was 9:36 I decided to call the original case manager that was assigned to me and she said she did not see anything for me until later that day but she would help me now. She listened to my complaint and then proceeded to tell me that they were still denying me. The appeal was also denied because they feel that it was a pre existing condition and that anything mechanical takes time to break down so it would not be covered. I asked what that time frame was when does a compressor and the valve start to go bad and she would not answer me. She said that she would not answer a hypothetical question. I asked several more times and she still said the same thing.

    When I purchased this Warranty it was in good faith that as long as I paid my full premium and was in good standing that my systems would be covered. This is a major selling point for this warranty and had I known that I would not be covered for mechanical break downs I would not have purchased this warranty. My paperwork says that my HVAC is covered both mechanical and electrical portions of the entire system. Yet when I file a claim I am denied. This is poor business practice and I will be taking legal actions in order to correct this poor claim handling and denial of what should be covered items. Please feel free to contact me.

    The original tech who came out to service our HVAC told us it needed a compressor and never returned my calls. (For a month.) On my 3rd call to Choice Warranty, they finally sent a real tech (one that had been here before) that fixed the issue when he came out that day. (It was a capacitor not the compressor and he had the part on his van.) Choice needs to get better techs, and/or let the customer choose who they prefer to come out. The first tech had no clue what he was doing and we went without air conditioning for over a month for no reason at all.

    The policy only covers basic repairs. Never covers any major repairs. I had bathroom and air conditioning. Paid 2 $85 service calls to be told they don’t cover my repairs. Customer service is horrible. I hadn’t had air in 4 days. By the time someone could come look at my air it would be 8 days with no air. The customer service rep told me it wasn’t that long. Who says that to someone? I hate I ever signed up. What a waste.

    I called to file a claim on Sunday. Finally a technician was scheduled to come on Wednesday. He did not show up. He was supposed to call on Thursday. No call! (The heat index was over 100 degrees each day) A new technician was assigned and he finally came on Saturday night and fixed it. I am 82 years old and the elderly are by law not suppose to have to wait for service for very long. AVA Quality serviceman got the job done. If I could get my money back and.     Overall experience was good. However, it came to our attention that it was the original intention of Choice Home Warranty to only pay for an aftermarket replacement part and our service tech had to insist that an OEM part be used. NOT very encouraging should a situation arise requiring a larger or more extensive repair/replacement. I would hope that it would be Choice’s standard practice to use QUALITY as the critical criteria for replacement parts and not simply COST.

CHOICE chose a very reputable company and the gentleman that came to my home was so polite and just a perfect responsible repair gentleman that I would’ve chosen firsthand I am very impressed with the company and so happy that I sign for 3 1/2 year contract with them and will do so when this one expires.     This is a total sham! I’ve already spent hundreds in the past 3 years I’ve been contracted with them to have my A/C’s repaired. They stick bandaids on everything and never truly fix the issues. We had our upstairs A/C go out AGAIN and we couldn’t even get anyone to come out for 3 days. It was 90 degrees upstairs. We tried calling them and telling them we had someone who had worked with them before who could come out and do the work, but they told us they couldn’t release that ticket because the other tech already picked it up.

    We tried calling the other tech for days and got no response. Finally the day before rolled around and we had the guy who had done the work before stop by so he could at least tell us what was wrong. He told us exactly the problem so we called the guy back again and Choice Home Warranty and told them exactly what was needed to fix our A/C. We were told that technician has to come out, fill out their paperwork, send it in to the office, have them approve it, then order the parts so it will likely be a week or more before he can get back out here. What are people supposed to do in the hottest part of the summer with A/C broken if they have Choice Warranty? I'm just going to find a reputable A/C company, buy a new unit and get a service contract through them because forget this mess! I can’t deal with this every time something happens.

    My appointment was from 7am to 11am this morning, 8/14. I waited to 12:30 and finally called the phone number for the technician. He said he was from Baltimore (I guess no local tech from Laurel, DE). He was rude saying he was not coming as he went to Laurel, MD. I called Home Choice Warranty company and after 3 tries I finally went to option for a callback. They did call back relatively quickly and I told them I was not happy with the experience I had today with their tech. I said he was difficult to understand and how rude he was. I also said for them to send someone who could speak English so I could understand him. They were suppose to locate another tech to come. It’s now 6:00 pm and still no notice when someone would come.     Honestly, I don’t have anything to really report yet. I knew what the exact problem was and told both Choice Home Warranty and the Technician what it was prior to the technician even coming out. On top of the $70 I have to pay to choice, I had to pay a different company to make an emergency call to fix my upstairs air until they could come out 3-4 days after I made the call and they don’t fix it the day they come out. They have to file paperwork and then you have to wait for them to approve the repair. This is the dumbest racket I’ve ever gotten involved with. Save yourselves the headache and money and sock some money aside or at least have a credit card handy to pay for emergency repairs if needed. I honestly think you are better off than buying a warranty from Choice and dealing with their ** hoops to get your air fixed. That is my honest review.

After my initial assessment, I proceeded to make a claim with Choice Home Warranty the same day. A technician came out on August 10, 2021 to check out the system. He examined the system, took several pictures and stated that the system would need replacement because it has an internal leak. I paid the technician $65 as part of the service call/Choice Home Warranty contract.

    Choice Home Warranty decides to deny the claim based on this statement: "It has been determined the boiler has a damaged tank that has deteriorated and has cracked. Under normal wear and tear conditions this failure takes time to occur and cannot develop within commencement of the policy." I spoke with the technician and he stated that there was no deterioration or rust visible. The internal components of the unit are not possible to examine unless you take the whole system apart. There are other factors that can cause a leak and whatever is causing the leak, the system is a discontinued model along with the replacement parts.

    On August 12, 2021, I was notified of the claim denial and I immediately proceeded to dispute it. On August 13, 2021, I spoke with a claims manager, by the name of Jude **, to explain my concern. Throughout our conversation, she pretty much seemed to not care of what I had to say and was determined to stick with the denial. I asked to speak to someone above here and she basically told me there was no one above her I can speak to. She suggested I can get a second opinion in which I told her it would be useless because they would say the same thing, an internal leak.

    Choice Home Warranty advertises coverage for systems, even aged ones. My system was working perfectly, with no problems at the start of my enrollment with Choice Home Warranty. The failure happened and now Choice Home Warranty doesn’t want to cover it. After researching the internet on reviews, complaints, the Better Business Bureau and blogs about Choice Home Warranty, I found lots of disturbing information about the business practices and many situations that seem to fall align with mine. I requested an intervention of this claim, to reverse the decision and repair my system as quickly as possible.

    Since early July,2021, maybe even before that, we have had dishwasher issues requiring two appointments. They covered cleaning out tree roots but not cleaning the sewage and sanitizing the area. So... Yay for paying for the $300 clean out, but not the 1k+ sanitizing.     My water heater went out last Monday. I was given a 4-24 hour service window, then two days later after no one shows I get an email with an appointment time with another company. Putting me at 9 days with no hot water. I called multiple times and spoke with multiple people asking about an earlier appointment date and they just kept verifying my appointed time and saying there was nothing else they could do.     I have had this home warranty for six years. I have used it probably four or five times for various appliances, the refrigerator icemaker once, washing machine and dryer and garage door opener. Repairs were made as expected except for the garage door which ended up being mechanical rather than the motorized part that was covered. Documentation was good, follow up was good. People answered the phone and were both polite and attentive to customer needs. So I renewed. That says a lot.

    It has been 14 days since my air conditioner broke. The first technician diagnosed it wrong as a valve. They told me that was not covered under warranty so I called another heat and air-conditioning company. They said it was the blower motor that I needed. He said it was nothing wrong with the first Diagnosis. I sent in the second invoice for the blower and they told me they would review it within the next 24 business hours. It has been four business days since I sent that in. I have heard nothing. I have an appointment at 8:15 -08 13 2021 to talk to someone again. Last time I had an appointment no one ever called. That was Wednesday 8-11 - 2021. Please help!!!

    I was without electrical power in part of my home for five days until I was able to get someone to come out to get it fixed. However, I didn't submit my claim until Monday evening, so getting someone to come on Wednesday, I thought was pretty good. When the tech got here, I showed him the area where it was affected. He started checking everything. He didn't find the problem right away, which surprised me because we had checked everything before we decided to call somebody, and we couldn't figure out what the problem was.     Choice Warranty is the worst warranty company I’ve ever been associated with. They schedule technician companies that they don’t confirm with about scheduled issues. They decline almost everything that’s suppose to be covered. All they want is my money and don’t want to help repair or replace the items they’re suppose to cover. They come up with fine print excuses the customer doesn’t know about because they fail to mention it or the customer doesn’t see the fine print because they make you feel safe and trusting. Overall I won’t be using choice warranty when my contract is up.

    I have had to contact this warranty company three times this year for furnace issues. Twice the claim was denied and once no one ever came out. There are technicians who admit they will not work with Choice and as the homeowner who has had these experiences with Choice I also will not work with Choice when my contract expires.     Our microwave went out and Choice determined the part was too expensive or unavailable so they said they would replace the unit. They offered cash back in lieu of replacement…. Not sure why… Most likely cause it’s cheaper for them. They offered $191 for a built in microwave. There is no way I can replace my microwave for that price. They say that is ‘their cost’. How is ‘their cost’ determined? They told me they look at the specs of my microwave and that is how it’s determined. This makes no sense! If $191 is their cost… Then they should go buy one for $191 and install it. But… no… that is not possible. So dumb. I will NOT be renewing.

    CHW decided to replace my stove vs repair. They said parts were not available. Paula ** told me they would give me $450 wholesale price to replace my electric 5.3 cu ft smooth top stove. At Lowe's the cheapest retail smooth top stove is $599 retail. Paula said it was their policy to pay out wholesale price not retail. This is a bait and switch. I accepted the $450 under protest. I then asked if chw would install the replacement stove. She said no. The contract says chw would also do the installation of the new stove, she told me "No." Chw would not cover installing of the new stove. I am extremely disappointed with chw.
