I can’t hear that well so the VA got Bruno rigged up for me. The sales rep did well and they got everything going pretty good. Also, the installers didn't mess around and did everything right and done really quick. They did everything as they should and I'm glad they came and did it. I’m satisfied with everything and I would tell people to get what I got.

Bruno Independent Living Aids is working great. I’m perfectly satisfied with it. I’m 71 and the stairs aggravate my kneecap. I use the stairlift, figuring every trip up and down, thus saving me from some pain and maybe my knee will last a little longer. Bruno relieves the pain. My nephew researched Bruno Independent Living Aids for his parents and my husband called two other companies that he saw on TV. We didn’t like the sales pitch where both of us had to be there and set aside so much time. It was over the top for what we wanted and the price on Bruno was better than we would have gotten with any of the others. We went to MediEquip, a local provider of medical equipment and we looked at the Bruno stairlift in the store.
The installer came, told that I needed an electrical outlet and installed the stairlift. It took a few days and he explained it after he was finished installing it. I like that I don’t have to walk on the steps. We purchased the straight one with its top being at the last steps and nothing hangs over onto the flooring. It goes down the basement steps straight shot. It fits fine in our stairwell and my husband locks the seat up before it goes down and he’s fine with it. I’m also satisfied with the price point and the stairlift.

We purchased a stair lift for my mom after her stroke. It has worked well for 1.5 years. A couple of days ago, it started vibrating loudly coming down. A service call put in and the dealer kindly arranged for same day service. Serviceman stated it was a defect from the manufacturer and would have to connect with them. This could take a week or two depending on the part and shipping it over. As my mom is stuck upstairs unable to come downstairs I escalated to owner who is trying to contact manufacturer. No answer yet. I was informed that at times it happens where it takes a week or two to get it fixed.
Being in the business and service for mobility issues, waiting any length of time and being stuck upstairs is unacceptable. There needs to be a service model where issues are addressed more promptly and efficiently. These lifts are not cheap and would expect better response. Not appropriate for mom to be stuck upstairs missing church on Easter, Dr. Appointment and social events.
Thank you for making Bruno aware of the issue. We understand that our customers rely on our products to improve their quality of life. For that reason, we have same-day shipping of parts, and some of our dealers stock parts. We will reach out to you immediately in order to resolve this matter as swiftly as possible.

Because of my mother's age, she can’t get up and down the stairs anymore. So I got her a stairlift and Bruno was the one suggested by the representative at the Mobility Supercenter. The salesperson, Steven, was very personalized in his service. He came out the next day after I called and did a great job. The installation was also quick and it was completed same day. The straight outdoor elite stairlift is working great and I appreciate the swivel seat. The quality is great and considering that, the price was excellent. I would recommend it.

I have heart and lung failure, and I can’t get up three steps without having defibrillator around. I’m medically trashed. I needed some help getting up and down the stairs because I can no longer do it on my own. I got a stairlift from Bruno Independent Living Aids, and the installation got done fast. The installer showed me how the stairlift worked. I use it a few times because there’s nothing on the floor I’m living on. I like that it goes up and down and gets me where I need to go. Everything seems fine to me and the stairlift hasn’t broken down on me yet.

My son told me it would be nice for us to have the stairlift because my husband is having a hard time going up the steps. My son did the research and got the Bruno stairlift. During the sales visit they measured it and the representatives were friendly. And then installation team showed us how to use the stairlift. And I was comfortable with it before they left. They did a good job. I'm satisfied and happy with it.

I'm so happy for my husband. He is so crippled up and to see him go up and down those Bruno stairs is a blessing. And that chair has answered my prayers. I don't know how to thank them. He had no life at all until this came. We had someone come in and did the measuring and all. And then we had to wait to see if the Veterans approved it. There's a curve on my stairs and I can't believe how well Bruno built the stairlift to our fit. My husband is able to go up and down comfortably. I thought there was going to be a lot of noise and a lot of confusion so I left him with the Bruno team. But he said they were very capable and very nice men. I like the comfort the stairlift brought and I'm very satisfied.

There was a stairlift in our house before we bought it and Bruno came to service it a couple of times. They kept it going for a while but it was just too old. We had a power surge here and it got fried. They said that we may have to invest in another one. We talked it over and we thought that was a very good idea because just doing the repairs on it wasn't doing the job. But they didn't pressure us. They left it up to us to make that decision whether we wanted a new one or not.
They replaced the whole thing. One fellow did all the installation and it was excellent work. We were very impressed. But the last couple of days when we get closer to the top it starts making a noise. And I think it's because there's no grease there or it wore off. But the quality is excellent because that stairwell is wider than usual so it gives us lots of room and it fits in beautifully. I recommend Bruno.

My wife couldn't get upstairs on her own so we got a Bruno stairlift because they appeared to be better from what we saw online. A fellow came out. He did his measurements and the next time he came out he brought the equipment. And away he went. It was straightforward. We got a straight indoor stairlift and it fits our stairwell good. And it folds up quite nicely. The installation team couldn't have been better. The stairlift is working great. It gets my wife up and down the stairs and it works great. I would recommend.

Russel was having trouble walking up the steps, he gets short-winded. Russel’s sister-in-law got a Bruno stairlift. I called over there when we were looking for a stairlift and she recommended it. She said it’s great so we went with it too. The rep was very friendly and nice, and he explained things well. We got a straight stairlift. It worked in our house but it was kind of snug.
The installation team was good. They got done much quicker than I thought. They explained everything well and made sure we were satisfied when they were done. When Russel comes up the stairsteps and gets off the chair and comes in the house, you can flip up the seat and put up the footrest. And when I come up, I got more room to get in the house too. Our house is kind of little hill and we would have to drive the car right up to the back door. Otherwise, he’d never be able to get in. He’s got a bad heart, very shorter breath. So, our car is in the basement of the house and he can get out of the car and walk across the basement floor a little. The stairlift is at the bottom of the steps that go up in the house. We only had it a couple of months but so far, it has been great. I would tell anybody about Bruno Stairlift.

I bought a second stairlift from Bruno Mobility. I added another one because we live in a three-story house and we are up in age. We have a lower level that is lovely and an upstairs, which is also lovely. The one we put in this time was going upstairs to the two more bedrooms and bathroom and storage on the second floor. Unfortunately the staircase is visible from the living room.
But the rep from Bruno suggested that I get this extended. We push the button and the chair goes up to the top and you don't see the chair. We have a very pretty house and we would have not been able to take that thing back upstairs and leave it out of sight. Nobody sees it. They walk by. They may see the structure but they don't see the chair sitting there so that's nice when we have company. But you had to do this other thing to get the structure that holds the chair to go up and down. When it ends it would have been on the floor of the first floor. My husband William goes by the staircase to get to his study. And if we had not taken that suggestion that she made people would trip over it going into his study and going to the garage.
I would never have known to do that and I'm glad I did. Because it gets it out of the way. And he's safe at night when he walks to his bathroom. He would have tripped over that thing if we had not done that. The rep also suggested getting a larger platform that when you sit on the chair, the platform folds down. And you put your feet on it. That's nice on that one, in particular, because it's a little bit larger than the one going down to the lower level.
And the previous one we got went downstairs to the lower level where we have a media room and a man cave and it makes it easier and safer than having to do the steps. The rep from Bruno looked up the information on the first one. And it was a matter of time because my husband was having a surgery. They did not have the chair in stock. And she got it as fast as she could, so that it could go in before he had surgery. And it would be here when he came home from surgery. The two people who came to install were not the same people as before but they were quite nice.
The chair was received from wherever it was shipped from and they came on Monday and installed it. And the two installers were quite capable people. They had to saw things and do things in the garage and they cleaned up themselves. And it was painless for us. They had to cut steel. They can't cut these things till they get here to measure exactly and so forth. And then, they had to drill, make holes in the steps. She assured me that when we put the house on sale if we wanted to remove it they could fix it. When you take the structure off there are little holes there but they can be filled. And if they are too noticeable you can put a runner carpet up the steps and cover those where the holes are.
She said most of the time people don't do that because you can't really see them unless you know that the holes are there. It's not every step that has the things, the platform that holds the steel structure in place. It was very helpful. When you don't know about these things, you don't know how to do them. And then, you are disappointed because things are not the way you would like to have them.
When we need the Bruno team sometimes they have to come in and do something or service it. They're very prompt and they're just nice people to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone. Because people are living longer and they need a little help at the end of the road. I had to promise my husband that I would not go up and down the steps unless he was in the house because they're very steep and I had to go one step at a time. Old age is not fun sometimes. And this makes things very nice and very safe.

We just had a stairlift installed about a month ago. We’ve had one before and now we got a new one because the old one couldn’t be fixed. It would cost as much to fix it as buying a new one. The Bruno sales rep were great and we got a straight stairlift. The same two fellows installed it and it was great as well. I’m getting along with the stairlift fine because before, I couldn’t take the laundry down the stairs when our other one was broken. So I’m getting along with it fine. I’ve already recommended Bruno Independent Living Aids.

I bought a stairlift for my mom and went with Bruno based on the installation time I needed it done. The installation people had two different products, one they had in stock and the other they did not. So, we went with the one they had in stock and they demonstrated it. We got a straight stairlift and it's quite nice. However, it doesn't fit perfectly. It's big and a larger person would have a hard time walking beside it. But it’s pretty quiet and having it was a great improvement. My mom lived in a tri-level, so getting upstairs was impossible. She used it several times and then we had to move her to assisted living. I was trying to call the people at Bruno to see if they wanted to buy it back at a reduced rate, but I haven’t been able to get ahold of them.

My husband has difficulty walking in our walk-in shower that's in the basement. Thus, he needed a stairlift to get up and down from the basement. We looked at several providers and Bruno had the features that we wanted. And we thought they would do well with us and we had faith in them. Griffin was the first fellow who came and he was super nice, down-to-earth, professional, and explained everything very well. We were pleased with his presentation. Also, the people who installed it were nice. We had a straight stairlift installed and it's nice. It serves the purpose and we're pleased with what we have.

My dad purchased a 13-step straight stairlift from Bruno to get him up and down the stairs. He is on oxygen, and he can't get up the stairs anymore. He chose it because it was recommended by the nice and helpful gentleman who was here. It also had low maintenance and it had a pretty good track record, so he wanted it. The stairlift fits perfectly in the stairwell, and it looks fine in there. It's very compact, too. The only thing that I really do not like about it is the rail sticking out at the bottom. But, it serves the purpose so I can live with it. Other than that, my dad really likes the unit a lot, and he is happy with it. He likes how it folds up and likes every feature that is on there, especially the remote control. He said it is also really quiet.
The installation team was extremely helpful, too, and we could not say enough good things about how nice they were. They answered every question. The stairlift is very high quality for the worth of money. With it, my dad is able to get up and down the stairs every day perfectly. I'd definitely recommend it to friends.

I had hip surgery and Medicare did not approve of me coming back to my house because I had some stairs. So my son put in a stairlift and I have a tri-level house so I have two elements on it. It’s one to go up and then another one to go down. I only have one criticism and that is that they could have put the other one going upstairs a few inches back. Also, the seat doesn't swivel like it should on the downside, but it’s all right. There's a door there so that may be why the couldn't quite do that. I’m just being picky. But they did a good job of installing it.
So far the stairlift has worked fine for me if I can remember which button to push. There's a dozen and you have to get clicked back in before it can move. That was one thing I had to learn. It has to be in the right position and when one comes down, it has to click as well as beep. That’s just part of the mechanism. It’s a little slow too, but it works very good and smoothly. I’m 100-something pounds but it would be sturdy enough for a heavy person too. It’s very nice for people who can’t go upstairs.

My wife and I are both retired and we crawl up the stairs. My wife had a couple of knee surgeries and she walks with a cane for a little feeling of security. And just to be safe, she liked to come down the steps a step at a time, sitting. So we figured we better get a stairlift and make it easier. One man from Bruno came and measured to see what we had here, and he was the one who was talking to us. We didn’t need anything fancy, just something that takes us up and down. But one of our relatives has a stairlift that goes straight up and it stops a little short at the top landing. They have to get off and do the last step up at the top and I told the man from Bruno that if it were possible, we’d like to get one that goes up to the top and then turns on the landing so we can walk straight off on the landing without having to do any steps.
Dan installed the stairlift and did a good job. Then they explained everything about how to use it and we were content with how they briefed us. Our stairlift is a straight one right up the steps and on the top, it turns. It has that jigger on the bottom of the seat and when you press that down, it turns so we can step off on the landing. We've had the stairlift for almost two months now and so far, it’s been working well. The ride is fine and it’s not loud. We’re happy with it. The stairlifts are simple machines, but they are a good help.

I have lung cancer and I have herniated disc in my spinal column. Bruno stairlift was recommended to me by the clinic because they didn’t want me walking up and down the steps. They called them and a man came and measured the stairs, took my weight and my blood pressure. And then the people from Bruno came out to put the stairlift in. I have a straight stairwell and the stairlift fits fine with it. The installation team was really nice. They took me up the steps. One guy went up the top and one stayed down in the bottom. They showed me how to buckle. When I got to the top, the other guy showed me how to get off and turn around. They were really clean too.
The quality is fine. I like that I could get up and down the steps. I can do so many things with it. If I want to get me some water or something to bring up, I can hold it and still push the button with one hand and hold the glass of water. Before I got it, I used to be scared to come up by myself. I had to wait until the nurse comes and then I can come upstairs. I already recommended them to a friend of mine.

The VA helped me to get a stairlift and they paid for it. I haven’t had the bill on it or anything. The installation went like clockwork. The installers knew what they were doing. They brought all the boxes in, opened them up, and they had it in an hour’s time. They did good. I got a straight stairlift and there’s only nine steps, generally there’s 13. They are normal of an eight-foot ceiling, but this is different. They put it in there. I got five steps coming up from rumpus room around the corner and then straight up to the bedroom. But those all five steps there were no problem. I’d recommend Bruno Independent Living Aids to anybody interested in the stairlift. This one here does its job. I don’t know it could do any better than what it does.

My husband Irv has trouble walking. Bruno was suggested to us and the sales rep seemed okay. We got the stair lift that goes straight down the basement. It fits well and there’s still room to walk up and down the stairs. It’s safe and secure for Irv and he just has to sit down on it to go down the basement. We live in a ranch home and he couldn’t go down the basement before because he’s not steady on his feet, and this allows him to do it. Then we have a walker when he gets there. It makes it easier that I don’t have to go down as much and it makes him more independent. The installers did what they had to and they didn’t bother us, and they demoed how to use the stair lift. We haven't had it that long, but it has come in handy for Irv and it seems to be serving its purpose well.

On Mar. 5th we has a service agent come out to our home to look at the stair lift chair as it was not working properly and won’t be back until Mar. 12th. The service agent was the same one that installed it and said that there was a problem with the brake.
We have a 16 stairs on our staircase in which my wife need to get up or down. My wife is handicapped due to knee replacement. Also problems with the other one, she is not able to climb these stairs with the help of the stairlift. The service agent called in the order for the part and said, "Bruno ships by ground only unless you want to pay air freight." My wife is known is unable to go upstairs as she has her own business, she can’t climb these stairs. I talked to Bruno and it was a very bad experience, they did not care about my wife. But yet they manufacture equipment to assist handicapped people, but fail to support them.
We are sorry to hear you’ve not had a positive experience. At Bruno, we strive for excellence in our products, processes and dealers. We will contact you shortly to try and get this resolved.

He knew what he was talking about. The installation team was nice. After they got it up, they made sure that my wife operated it. They showed how to go up and down. The salesman called me back after a week to make sure everything was okay and everything was operating. The installer was very nice young man and he was clean. We got the indoor stairlift and I like it. It carries me up the steps and back down and it works fine. I had a Bruno stairlift in my old home for years and that first set was paid for by the VA for my dad who was a veteran of two wars. They were installed free of charge to us. It was excellent and we enjoyed using it. We were happy with it and that was why we chose Bruno for our second house. The sales rep, Masa, was amazing. Totally Mobile is the name of her company and she was very sweet, smart, really nice and accommodating. It makes a difference when you like someone and she knew exactly what we wanted. She did her measurement and it was great. The installation team was excellent too.
The new stairlift is a slightly different model. It's a very expensive custom-made one which just goes all the way up to the top of the stairwell. We don't have the beeping sound 'cause that was very annoying and we had them turn it off for us. Also, I have to move my legs a certain way to get up. But I'm assuming that that's always going to be like that because there's a curve in the stairs. The chair seems like it's fine too and we're happy with what we've got so far.
I wish the stairlifts were cheaper though. The curved one is almost $10,000 and I got that to go upstairs because the bedroom is upstairs and I need the stairlift. I really wanted to have another one going to the basement because there's a whole bunch of things I want to do down there but we couldn't afford it. There's a big difference in price between a straight one and a custom one, and we ended up spending $4,000 for a straight one. I thought I was going to be able hop off the stairlift into the stairs okay with some grab bars. But it turned out that there's no way I can have grab bars to help me get downstairs because of the way the stairs were constructed. I can get down to the bottom but there is a small landing and there are three more steps and I can't do those steps because of my hip and my knees. So I can't use the stairlift and I'm very sad about that.
We had tried to think of ways to do this and we spoke to Masa from Totally Mobile. Her team was coming up with ideas but they were all going to be expensive. Still, the team, the installer and the woman who owns the company were all very nice. Unless Bruno tells me to rip the whole thing out and spend a whole lot money for a custom stairlift, I can’t see another way of it working for me. It's not Bruno's fault though. It's just that I shouldn't have put the stairlift in. Still, Bruno made an excellent product and there's nothing like it. If someone has mobility issues, it would get them where they have to go. For me, it was wonderful to get upstairs to take a look at the second floor of my new house. I had only seen that once before and it was with difficulty. I would tell others not to waste time and get a Bruno stairlift if they can afford it.

I thought about getting a stairlift from Bruno a year ago. I called their sales rep back and we made the necessary arrangement. He came out here, checked the place and he's been very good. I purchased a straight stairlift. My stairs were placed on a log that's about 18 inches and the stairs were latched-in to the logs. I like the stairlift's compactness. We kept it up a little farther away from the wall so we can keep the railing and my wife can use the railing when the stairlift is at the top or the bottom.
The people that installed it were excellent. They set it up, put it in and they said not to use it because it'd be a week before the inspector could get there, but I did anyway. A guy came out and put a 450 pounds weight on it. And when the inspector came out, they were more busy talking to each other than worrying about the stairlift but it was fine. I like that I could get up and down the stairs. I'm in a parcel log house and with wooden floors, and I don't like that piece of plastic. But you can't make it out of woods. The quality is good though and I'm completely satisfied.
I hiked up and down the stairs for three years using both hands and my knees got so bad that I couldn't do it. We lived mostly upstairs. Our bedroom and decks and stuff were upstairs. Our house is all open. The lower part is open to the loft part. I'm sitting at my nook, eating lunch and I can see that shiny aluminum doesn't look very good but I'm going to paint it. To those who needed something to get up the stairs, you better get a stairlift from Bruno.

The installers were also very professional and answered any questions that I had. They did a very good job. I got the straight version and it was made in Wisconsin. It clutters up my stairway a little and makes it quite a bit narrower. Other than that, it enables me to get downstairs which I haven't been able to do for several years. So, it has helped a lot there and I'm sure in the future it's going to help even more. I would give Bruno a good recommendation.

I went to the Motion Store here in Sarnia where they sell all that equipment for disabled people and people that have trouble in their homes. They gave me the phone number of Bruno's salesman. The salesman came to my house and the guys that work for Motion were the ones that installed it. The salesman was very good. We got two straight stairlifts and the installation team did a good job. I wish our stairwell was wider though because it’s a little tight for the seaters. We have a four level house that's why we got two of these. One is seven steps and the other is five steps.
We had it since January and so far, so good. My wife loves it. She just got out of the hospital a while ago and that’s when we realized we got to do something. In addition to her being very weak, she's fighting cancer and she has a heart condition too so stairs are no good at all. She wouldn't dare walk down the stairs without getting on it. The other day, we had a power failure here and she wasn't home. So, I immediately tested this thing and it worked just like they told me it would, that it will work in a power failure. So, that was good to know.

I've seen that Bruno has the cheapest stair lift so I decided to go buy one. The sales visit was good. The installation team took no time to put it in. There were 3 of them and they did a good job. They told me all the features of it like how it works and where everything's at. So I know all about that now. We got the straight one and it fits the stairwell very good. The stair lift helps a lot. I do have a hard time going up the steps a little bit and now when I get heavy packages I can just ride right up.

My aunt who lives with us is 91 and I used to have to bring her up the stairs. But she had fallen and when she came home from the hospital, we went down and up once then the next time, she couldn't make it up to the second step. She walks with a walker, but she can’t make the steps. So she was on the couch downstairs for two weeks. Bruno came highly recommended and my friend gave me the name of the gentleman. We made an appointment and he came over and measured. He told me all about it and we did it. I knew they were expensive but we had to pay it. Besides, everybody's prices are all comparable and Andy Brown's was maybe $600 more.
The gentleman was only here for three hours with his helper and both of them did the installation. He handed me the paperwork when he was done and everything has been working fine ever since. We have two separate ones so we didn't need a curved one. One section goes up to the landing and my aunt can stand up. Then he put another straight one going up the other way. It fits great, especially the first section of the stairs. It's wider there and I can actually walk next to my aunt once I have her on that part.
Our other stairs are off-center and what I do after she's done and she gets in her walker, goes in her bedroom or the kitchen when we go downstairs, I put the the step thing for the feet, the arms and the feet up. I put the seat back down to the bottom on both ends and it's not in anybody's way 'cause it's an older home so we have a fairly wide stairway. It's nice and neat, and I'm very pleased with it. I rode on it twice myself to check it out and the quality is great. It's new and beautiful. My aunt's happy being up and around her room now. She goes downstairs in the morning and she has full use of the house. She gets in the kitchen and in the living room. It worked out great and life is much easier now.

There was a little part that wasn't installed properly but the installer came back right away. They were very professional. I have a second floor. My aunt had liver cancer and in August she got an infection throughout her body which really limited her mobility. She had really no strength to walk off steps. She lived in a three-story home and her bedroom was on the third floor. She was getting treatment in her home so she had to come down from her room quite often a couple of times a week so a stairlift was really helpful. Without a stairlift, she would have not been able to get through her room. She got my grandparents’ stairlift a while back and she had a terrible experience with it. Then the company she got it from went out of business and it broke. We couldn’t get it fixed. So she really researched the companies that time. The owner of Bruno, the company we chose, came over and spoke with us and he was great. It was a really good experience. It was seamless. My aunt was very satisfied with the stairlift and it helped her eventually.

It was getting difficult for my husband to get up and down the stairs. I got three quotes for a stairlift and they were all within a hundred dollars of each other. The first one, the guy gave us the quote but he didn’t leave us any documentation and it annoyed us. Then, the other one wanted to put the stairlift on the opposite wall, which didn't make sense. We have a railing on one wall and he wanted to take it off and put the stairlift there. We didn’t think that was going to be a good idea. There were differences about what side of the wall we were going to put it on. We chose a particular wall due to a safety issue. There was a little area at the bottom of the steps where it curved around in the stairlift so it was safe for my husband to get off. Once the chair was folded up, it was not on the way.
101 Mobility's salesman was really nice and we liked him. He was very thorough, pleasant and knowledgeable. We got the Bruno curve stairlift. During the installation, the owner stopped by and checked. Then, his son and another guy installed the stairlift. They were very thorough, knew what they were doing, and got it done very quickly. The stairlift is of very good quality and we're very happy with it. It's now easier for my husband to get down the steps. For him, it's faultless. I would highly recommend Bruno.

I have polyneuropathy which is slowly progressing backwards and I can't do anything on stairs. Bruno was assigned by the VA and the fellow that came and measured sat down and explained everything about the stairlift. He was very knowledgeable and seemed to know all about them. He said there are other companies, but this was what they thought the best. Then he said if they got the bid that they would be here within 48 hours. When they did, they called on Monday morning and they were here on Tuesday.
There was one fellow that came for the installation and he was friendly. He showed me what he was going to do and asked about where there was electricity to plug it in. I showed that to him and he said it was no problem at all. He showed me where it went and about the battery being operated if the power goes out, and I was happy with it. The stairlift I got is a straight one that turns 90-degrees on top which is wonderful for me. When I come up on top, it's a little bit more closed but it folds right up and it works great. It's a lifesaver. It’s also unreal because I have a raised ranch and the bedrooms and bathrooms are all upstairs. I also noticed that it has different speeds. It's a little bit faster going up than down, but they explained that to me so, it's fine. If anyone would ask me about Bruno, I'd tell them that if they happen to look at stairlifts or want to put one, they should talk to Bruno's guys.

A friend of mine was recommending a stairlift and I thought I'm still young for that. But I realized that that was not right because I'm 85 and with my age, it was time for me to stop running up and down the stairs. I've also been having a little trouble with my back and my arthritis. So I got two stairlifts from Bruno Independent Living Aids, one inside the house and one outside. Their sales rep was nice and the installers did a good a job. They knew what they were doing when the pieces were all put together. Then they needed electric put in and they looked around. They had to go through the brick wall and get electric somehow on the outside. And they came right through it with no problem. Then they told me how to work the stairlifts and explained things on my level.
Also, I wanted one of the stairlifts on the side of my door on the back porch because I got grandkids and they love to play with stuff. But the installer explained to me that I could have a key to lock the stairlift and the kids can't do anything without the key. I told him I would wait a while until I see whether I really want it because he said it'd only take about 5 to 10 minutes to put that in.
So far, I'm very well-pleased with what I've seen. The workmanship as well as the material they used are excellent. My wife and I use the stairlifts and she loves them. They're real handy and they make me feel good. Right now, we couldn't use the stairlift outside with the way the weather is with the snow, so they put a cover over it. Sometimes I forget about it and when go to look at it on my backdoor, I ask who's on my porch and scare myself. But the stairlifts work good. There are still little things that I don’t know and don’t understand, but I'd grow to learn them as time goes. It shouldn’t be that hard and I'm catching on. I'd recommend Bruno to anybody. If they could satisfy me, they could satisfy anybody.

We knew it was going to happen because of the weather and the installer had to set it up outside then put it in. But he did great and was really professional. The Bruno chairlift does not compare with the solid feeling of the Stannah, which I had for a previous operation. This chair does not feel stable going up and down. I don’t feel comfortable on it, although the chair itself is far more comfortable than the Stannah in that it's more padded. But my issue is the quality of the production. Like a train going on the railroad tracks, you hear that click-clack, click-clack. There's a lot of that noise and rocking. I worry every time I get on it and I try to limit going up and down only for meals.
Last week, I got from my knee scooter and sat down on the chair at the foot of the stairs and the extension rail broke. My leg's in a cast from my toe to my knee and I was alone. So there I sat. I could not get up the stairs where all my medications are. I called Totally Mobile but it was after hours and they said that I needed to speak with the VA to get permission for them to come back out since the VA supplied the stairlift. It was just a lot of rigmarole. It was, as far as I'm concerned, an emergency.
But first thing the next morning, the VA called and they said that they were aware. And while I was talking to them, the repairman from Totally Mobile, the company that installed the chairlift, called and he was here at 10. He found a broken part which astonished me because it was the device that locks the extension rail to the main rail once the extension rail is down at the foot of the stairs. It's a piece of a cast metal and it's very flimsy. I should think with the use these machines get, that part should be made out of something like titanium.
The other thing that I find annoying is that there's a lot of pushing of the button, unlike the Stannah where when you hit the go button, you wouldn't have to hold the button down. It didn’t stop before the extension rail opened. With the Bruno chair, you go down nine-eights of the way and then it stops. You have to let go of the button then you have to press the button again and then the extension rail does its thing. Then you have to let go of the button again and then you have to hit the button again to continue down that extra 30 inches. When you're going up or down, you're very nervous about this thing working down again.
I'm grateful for the chairlift. It saved me because now I can go up and down the stairs. But Bruno has to consider people who are not as sharp or as together. I'm a young 76 but there are people who are 70 and not so able to take care of themselves or deal with these kinds of issues. That's more of the person that has to be taken into consideration when you're thinking about the usability and the safety of these products. I suppose for the money that the VA has to pay for these things, Bruno is the best option because I'm sure it was the cheapest. The cheapest always gets the contract but when you're dealing with the elderly or people who are, in part, incapacitated, I don't know see where money is the issue. Quality and safety should be the issue.

The stairlift fits in the stairwell, and the quality is good. I still go up and down the steps on my own. But when I have something to take upstairs like tea or coffee, I can't hold on to take that so I use the stairlift. And sometimes, I use it to come down with different things so I don’t fall. When I first sit on it and it first starts going up the steps, it takes a little while to kick in. If it gets any worse, then I'll have to call the VA. The installer told me to call them if anything went wrong and he'd come out again. But if the stairlift stays the way it is, I'll just leave it for a year. They came back and installed the straight stairlift. The guys were very nice, courteous and did a great job. It was quick and I was happy with the way it was done. Their cleanliness and professionalism were awesome, too.
Also, the sales reps helped me in making decisions on where to put the stairlift and how to install and plug it in, which was very nice of them. With the stairlift, I do remote control from the top to the bottom. I have a narrow staircase in the first place so when it is folded, it is pretty good. It is also very quiet. We needed a stairlift because my wife and I are both old and she had health problems. She broke an ankle and had cancer. It's not feasible to keep shooting up and down stairs. We had a choice to either move into a new house or buy a stairlift and buying a new stairlift was a lot cheaper. The one that we had was breaking down. It was not good and the people who installed it gave no service.
So I shopped around and the best recommendation from the Better Business Bureau was Bruno. The reps from Bruno were very nice. I knew what I wanted and so I gave them the length of our existing stairlift and they were able to order the whole thing. Then, three of them came out, took the old one away and installed the new one in about two hours. The stairlift's big, comfortable and operates smoothly. It is very well engineered and is more solid than our old one because Bruno's starirlift slows down at each end before it clicks to a halt. This one feels so much better engineered and much more solid than the old one. We'll definitely tell our friends to get one from Bruno.

When the stairlift was installed, the installers had their rubbers on and when they were inside, they took them off. Their team wasn't any bother and they did all the cutting in the big way that I have. When they installed the stairlift for the stairwell going to the basement, they took the handrails off on one side and they have done a good job in installing the chair. But both of them are on walkers and although they were not shut up in the second floor, it was hard for them to come down. My husband and I had two stairlifts put in, one in December and one in January, so my parents can get around the house. The stairlifts themselves are great, and so were with the people who did the installation. The person we bought them from, Andrew, was amazing. I highly recommend him and he really stands behind Bruno too. He told us about how great Bruno is as a product and he also said that Bruno is made in America or parts of the stairlifts are.
Andrew was great to talk to and I felt really comfortable with him to come out and see my husband to go over what he could do for us. In the consultation, he told us exactly what we could do 'cause we didn't know whether we had to take a door off or how it all worked. He made us feel like he knew his stuff, that we are important, that he would take care of us and that we would be satisfied no matter what. For the stairlift from the first floor to the second floor, it had to be a curved lift so we went through that with Andrew and discussed exactly how that would go. Then he came and spent a long long time taking measurements.
We didn't have to take the door or the banister off. The first one, the straight stairlift, was done by Andrew himself and he worked for six hours doing that. He was a real perfectionist and he also showed my husband how to use it. The curved stairlift had to be ordered 'cause it was custom made. Then Andrew and two other people installed it and they did a great job. I was surprised 'cause I thought it was going to take longer but it took from 9:00 in the morning until maybe 1:00 and they were done. Again, he walked us through exactly how to use it and he went step-by-step to make sure we understood everything. The products have been great so far. The stairlifts look great and the curved one has a really nice chair. There's ease of use too. Now, my parents can easily go from the second floor to the first floor.

They said that they didn’t have the English stairlift but then they had Bruno. It was tough trying to find somebody that had a stairlift in Central Iowa and there are only two Bruno stairlifts there. The one I bought this from has been in existence for two years.
An individual came and was here two hours. He sat down with us and talked with us about Bruno. He made a sales pitch and he did a nice job. Bruno has been in business for quite a while and their stairlifts seem to be quality products. I made a couple of phone calls and I liked the reps who came out and showed me the prices and details on the chair. I also dealt with the owner and she gave me her guarantee. Aside from that, the company I went with offered a lifetime warranty for the unit, which is beyond the manufacturer warranty, and it was a big deal. Those things added up to positives for me, as compared to just a large company that may or may not give me as much attention.
I have a staircase that wouldn't necessarily fit the pre-manufactured stairlift, so the one I got was custom fit. They measured for the rail and they were then able to go a little bit closer to the railing which saved me a little more steps. The installation went as smooth as it could go and I liked the people who did the job. They came in, installed the unit, swept up all the crumbs and dust afterwards and showed me how it works. The Bruno stairlift has been a decent-looking fixture and I like the idea that the seats, the foot stand and the arms all come up so that it's as narrow as possible. It seemed like a lot of money when I got it but I feel like the salesperson was being fair. He charged me what he was supposed to charge me and I'm getting the quality that I expected. Because of the stairlift, we'll be living in our home instead of having to move. The sales rep also told me that it can be taken out and installed in another home or it could be resold. That was something that also appealed to me as it makes it seem more practical and more worth the money that I spent.

We're on the second floor and we're over 80 years old already, so going up and down the stairs isn't easy for us. We wanted to use a stairlift that would make it easier to do this. My daughter found Bruno Independent Living Aids, a stairlift provider, and recommended them to us. They're from Cranston and we had a very good experience with them. Their rep is a very nice guy. He got up here and we talked, and he told us the whole story about their stairlift. He did a good job selling it to us and we decided to get it. This guy himself and a cousin of his who works for him did the installation and they were very friendly. I like the stairlift that we got from Bruno. It's very sturdy and it goes down with no problem.

I got a liver cancer and I had a chemo. It was hard for me to go up and down the stairs. I get tired real quick so my nurse recommended Bruno stairlift through the VA. The VA got a request in and they got one. The stairlift that I have goes up, and then it curves, and then up. Once it's fully up, you got to fold it up. The installation team got the installation done fast, about six hours. They were very polite and they showed me everything. They had a little trouble with the stop part because it doesn’t slow down. It just bumps but it's not a big thing. The quality is excellent. It made my life a lot easier because I got a wheelchair and I got a walker. Going up and down the stairs used to be rough especially when I had to take something down the stairs. Now, it's no problem. It helps me out a lot. I'd highly recommend it.

We bought a straight stairlift from Bruno for our son and it fits good in the stairwell. Their sales rep was great. He was on top of things and helped us out a lot. The installers were also great and they installed the stairlift within three hours. It has a retractable bottom, so you can close the door. I like the way the seat rolls and the fact that we don't have to lift our son up. We just set him on the chair. It's not too high or too low. It's perfect. Now, we can easily take our son downstairs. You can't go wrong with Bruno. Their people are great and so far, the stairlift's quality has been good.

I fell on my stairway. I didn’t break any bones but it takes a long time to get over it. Luckily my nephew through marriage who was working on my commode was here. I was at the bottom of the stairs. I got up but I don’t remember falling. So I got a Bruno stair lift. They got a good distributor. He's been in the business 10 years so he knows what he's talking about. He knows what he's doing. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. He doesn’t push. He seems so professional because he went up the steps. He looked at it and he gave me a price. He was at my magic number and that's why he got the job. My brother saw it and was pleased.
The stair lift was installed within two hours. I was made to go up and down until I was comfortable. I have my Bruno installed inside my house. There are 15 steps. The seat seems to be a little loose but it isn't that bad. It's just maybe my imagination. One belt came off and I called them one day. The next morning Dave was here and he fixed it. I'm getting used to my stair lift. You just jump on and follow the procedure. I put my seatbelt on and go up, put my feet on the footrest. Everything is fine. I told a couple of people I should've done it before. Their price is fantastic and the quality is there. It seems like a good sturdy stairlift.

You could count on Bruno doing a good job for you. We got two straight stairlifts with the separated stairway by level from them and their sales reps were nice, courteous, and professional. They gave us the information and pricing we needed. They also helped with the scheduling and were prompt with getting the job done. Accessible Systems installed them for us about a month ago and they did a good job. It's a little bit tight but it's a narrow stairway so there wasn't anything else that could be done. I also wish they'd cut the price in half. But other than that, the stairlifts are working great.

But when I went over to Bruno, it’s a local company with local people and I felt real good with them. They've been in business for years and they're very close to my house. Everything else comes out from almost a hundred miles away. Not only that, my wife, right off the bat, said that she liked their product more than the other ones and that the chair was more comfortable. Their installers were also very nice and explained everything in detail. It took them less than two hours to finish and they couldn't have been better. We got the curved stairlift and it fits great with our stairwell. It's very compact and my wife says she feels better and safer with the stairlift. Our experience was outstanding.

He told us what their product was about and what the price was. He knew what he was talking about. Also, the installer was great and we enjoyed his company. He was real pleasant and he knew what he was doing. He also cleaned everything up.
The stairlift is a straight one, and it doesn't fit as well as I'd like. It's compact enough, though it has to go all the way down a little faster. But my husband likes it very much. Our daughter has multiple sclerosis and her mobility has been extremely impaired. Being she's on disability, she has the type of coverage where the state took care of her stairlift. The state contacted the contractor, they did the bidding on it and then Bruno was the company that was chosen. The installation guys were the same ones that put in the lift out front from the sidewalk to the porch area and the only problem I had with them was that they did a little bit of damage to my stair steps. They apparently drilled the holes for the anchors but they weren’t in the right areas and they had to relocate. So I've got holes up my steps and chips out of the steps.
But I'm understanding of the chips in the steps because the rail itself is a monster. I never anticipated it being as heavy and as big as it is. Trying to maneuver that rail, it's only natural that something's going to get hurt, as long as it wasn’t the people and that's the important thing. But there are some issues with the stairlift and the installation needs to be rechecked. It's rubbing in certain areas and it does a little bit of grinding. It's not as smoothly operated. It jerks and you can be going up the steps with it and it will stop as if something was blocking it and there's nothing. You just have to flick the switch a couple of times and it'll start back up and continue on. Overall, the stairlift has been a God-send.

My wife broke her hip and I am also going to be 87 come my birthday. I've had a hip and a knee replaced. It's real fun trying to climb them steps. I had my son get on the computer and the first chairlift company he came to was Bruno in La Crosse. I talked to Greg and he came down to measure and talk to us. He was very accommodating and as nice as could be. But that first one was a lemon. I had them down four times in the course of several years, and every time they came down, it was a $200 service call. There were two men and 75 miles each way so they weren't sticking me. It was just quite a ways away. The motor went bad on the chairlift and it was going to be $200 plus their trip. I told them I wasn't going to stick money in a sick horse. I got a different chairlift then and there, and a deal was made.
They brought a couple of new legs and that was the first that they had used them. They put the chairlift in and they had it all measured right to the T, how many inches and quarter inches it should be. They put it in and on the first couple of days, it ran like a charm. But all of a sudden the bottom step started squeaking. When you got on and off you could feel this raising up and down your step. Shortly thereafter, from halfway to the top, it started making the damnedest noise you ever heard, banging and cracking. I thought it was the steps and I called them. I told them I was not going to accept it as it is and if it would go on much longer, it would ruin my stair steps 'cause they're solid.
It went on for 10 days and nobody came. I called again and they told me they'd be up in a week. But it was a month before they came back. That irritated me. So I called them and told them to either fix it or take it out. Apparently, the reason they didn't come down was because they had some big jobs for elevator-type lifts going on. But they didn't tell me that and I was a little sore because nobody was coming. After everything was explained, everything worked out.
Two boys came down and they're a couple of good guys. They've been there with me. Greg and Mark both knew what they were doing but Mark, particularly, has a very high IQ. Apparently the company had told him about this whirring happening in isolated conditions and he put some little topper strips in there. They also raised the chairlift track a little bit so that the pressure wasn't on that bottom step. So then they worked on the two new legs that they never put in before. They told me that just because of my name, they brought those two extra steps. They fooled around with it and adjusted it until they got it to where it should be.
The chairlift has been running real good since then but it would still whirr at the starting position before it takes off, from the top and the bottom. The other thing is that there's a little rough spot in the middle of the flight. It's like bumping or something is moving in the track. At my age, you have to get it right before you appreciate it. But from talking to other people who have choppy-made ones, I think we probably have one of the betters ones, if not the best in a Bruno. If I have a chairlift and I get an extra three years living in my old home, I'm money ahead and happy.

My wife has not been very mobile. I googled stairlifts and there were only two providers that had a good reputation. One of them was Bruno and I liked that they have an outlet in Canada. A lot of the stairlifts are from the States so my concern was if I had a problem, I didn't know if anybody would come and look at it. Also, the man who installed it lives very close to me so if I would have a problem, I could just call him and he could be here in 10 minutes if he was available. I got the straight stairlift and it fits well in our stairwell. We have a wide staircase so he told us we could leave both banisters. Before the stairlift, my wife had to walk up once a day and she had two banisters to hold on to.
We had a problem with the stairlift within the last couple of days. It wouldn't move and made a beeping sound. It was 11 o'clock at night and I found that if I lifted the footrest straight up, then it would work so I had to hold my wife's feet up to get her upstairs because she had nothing to put them on. I called up the next day and the tech called back within an hour and told me that he'd be here around 4 o'clock. He was here a little after that and he checked it out. He adjusted a couple of the switches that control the bottom foot plate and he said they're very hair-trigger, but they're meant to be that way for safety. He told us to call him in the morning if there would be a problem with it again that night. Otherwise, give it a week. And if we wouldn't have any problems, we should call him as well.
I asked the repairman if Bruno has an emergency service and he said they don't and if Bruno called somebody and I happened to get somebody to come out, it will cost me $250. That was not very satisfactory and somebody as big a company as Bruno understands that a lot of people are unable to walk so they're stuck on the stairlift and can't go up or down. There should be an emergency service and we shouldn't have to pay for it either. They should be able to send somebody and look at it and fix it no matter what time. I also didn't like that Bruno charges a lot for these stairlifts. Other than that, we're very happy with the unit. It saves my life trying to walk up the stairs.

If you're going to buy something for mobility, the Bruno stairlifts are great. They're almost overbuilt which is a good thing. We bought a two-story house and my wife's mother, who is 88, can't do stairs. She needs to come up on the stairlift and the sales visit with the Bruno rep went very well. Kelly was awesome and very knowledgeable. We talked about different manufacturers as well as different ideas. I have a 180-degree turn on my stairs and I didn't want to spend $12,000 on a lift that would make the whole trip. So we decided to do two straights, one going to a landing halfway and then other one going halfway to the top. It ended up working out really well.
While the installation team was good, they could have been more attentive to details. There are a few things that they could have done better. The rail at the bottom was longer than 10 feet, so they had to put two pieces together and the joint is not really as good as it should be. That's because of the alignment and I mentioned that to them but they said it will work. But when there’s weight on it, it’s not as quiet as it should be. But I'm going to give Kelly an opportunity to take care of it. She'll probably send the same guys out and I would just look at them and tell them to fix it. It wouldn’t have been like that if it were straight and they could’ve done that the first time.
Also, the little foot plate with mechanical chips that supplements the stairs is problematic. My mother-in-law has got to reach underneath the seat and because I have two straights and they're on two different sides, when you're sitting on the seat and if she folds it down and forgets not to step on it, then she's going to break it. Other than that, there should also be a button that turns the chair 90 degrees. When she's at the top, she tries to turn that thing by reaching over that space in the stairs and that is not a good idea. I think it’s way harder than she says.
Those things aside, the quality of the stairlift is actually awesome. It's everything I expected from Bruno based on these other devices that we have. We have two other Bruno lifts, a wheelchair lift that goes in my truck and the little crane that goes in the car. Everybody else is less expensive, but we bought the good stuff and we got what we paid for. And there's no question, the remote to call the stairlift up and down is my favorite feature. My mother-in-law loves the stairlift. She has been using it a little better every time she gets in it. She’s happy and everybody is happy.

My husband has an artificial leg. He also has arthritis and a lot of other health issues. We have to get up six steps to get in the house and that was getting too difficult for him. We have a ramp out from the front of the house but it's a really long one because of the way it was made. He's also got a Bruno in our van for him to help lift his scooter into it and that works for a while. The VA made the decision to send three different contractors out here to look at it and told us what we were getting, and we've been very happy with it.
The sales rep was very nice. He brought pictures and explained everything. We had a small porch and we pulled that off. We built a bigger one and he gave us all the dimensions to make it work the best. Also, the installation went good except when they brought the lift in. They were missing one little piece, which they had to reorder. It was a wheel or something that in order to use it, we had to hold our finger on a button to keep it all the while because otherwise, it wouldn't go up or down. They got that button in about a week's time and they came back and put it in.
We got the indoor stairlift and my husband loves it because he doesn't have to walk up the steps. It works very well. It has a place on the outside up on top that we can operate it from too. When it comes to the quality, it seems really good. First, I thought it seemed chintzy and it shook a little bit. But that's the way it's supposed to be because of the way it's made and what it's supposed to be doing. This one is nice because you're not totally enclosed. But the one thing I don't like is it has a skirt thing on it that comes down when you take it down, so he can drive on and off with his wheelchair or his scooter. We have young grandchildren. I'm always afraid that when our little 19-month-old rides up and down with him, he's going to get too close to that front.
But we really like our stairlift. If my husband had to use the walker or the wheelchair, then he would have to go out the ramp in the front and that made it a lot more walking. Plus, the ramp is very steep. The lift has made it a lot easier for him to be able to go outside and get around. I also love it because I don't have to carry my groceries up six or seven steps anymore. The other thing that I really like as a safety feature is that if it's not all the way up or all the way down, you cannot open that door up on top. One of our grandchildren, if my husband had it down on the bottom, could not open the door and fall down there. It's a good feature because if you don't have little kids around, you don't think about it. I would definitely recommend Bruno.

I have cancer in the hip bone and Susan had an extensive foot surgery. We like to get appliances and things that can be repaired by people that are nearby, and Bruno's people knows how to fix this chair if we have problems. Access Solutions, the company that installed our stairlift, is in Albuquerque and we are about a hundred miles from there. So it's possible for them to come out and do a service if necessary.
Bruno's reps were very outgoing and polite, and we were impressed when they came out and made the measurements. We have three straight sections of stairs which connect the four levels in our house but they go around in curves to go from one straight stretch to the next. So you go up about nine stairs, then you need to turn around 180 degrees and do another nine stairs, and do another 180 degrees. They got enough data that they did a very accurate fit, and they put little reflecting objects on the stairs all around.
However, the installation took three months longer than we thought it was going to and they gave us a discount because of the delay. There was a partial excuse for that delay though. There was a hurricane and it was the end of the year. In Florida, they really felt the effect of the hurricane and they were down for a few weeks. It also seemed that they were trying to do too much at once. But when we had the curved stairlift installed, the installation team that came were very efficient. They had to file down the end of a banister because the thing doesn’t fit, but they finished the job within a day. The stairlift was well worth the wait and as far as the product goes and its function, it’s great.
Their team also showed me how the stairlift works. I like the way the seat turns because it allows us to come and access the seat from any position. The seat dips if it’s not in a standard position. But Bruno only has a stairlift seat for two and they ought to come up with something like a bicycle built for two. That’s our only desire. Other than that, the stairlift is working very nicely. There have been holes in the wall but those things happen. Susan also said that the stairlift was slow but it’s not meant for racing and it’s still very safe. She was recovering from the extensive surgery and it was hard for her until we got the Bruno stairlift. She uses it to go up and down the stairs now. Overall, we are very satisfied with the quality of the service and the workmanship.

My husband had a stroke 10 years ago. Little by little, he was losing strength in his leg. I knew the time was coming and that's why we needed to get a stairlift in our home. So I went to companies in our area and the company that I chose was 101 Mobility. They then recommended Bruno's set. I did research on the various products out there and Bruno Independent Living Aids seemed to be a sturdy and reputable brand of chairs and stairlifts. When the rep came out, he was so nice and was not pushy. He seemed genuinely concerned about doing what was nice. He let us take our time. He figured out approximately what it would cost and he went, "This is a large investment. I want you to think about it." He was more of a human being than a salesperson trying to push one into purchasing something.
The installation was great. The owner of the company, John, came with his two workmen. They were polite, neat, and efficient. They even put blankets down. The way it works with a stairlift, when you come in, you have to take the configurations and fixtures and figure out if you can actually get it installed. The other companies that came in, wanted money upfront for the installation right away. When John came, he said, "You know, I'm going to have to run this pass the technicians to make sure they can do it." He did not ask me to sign anything. He did not ask for any down payment until he said he figured out that it definitely could be installed. That was nice.
My stairs are not straight, so I had to have a custom installation which involved two platforms and a turn. It costs a lot of money, approximately $11,000. But when I compared the cost of this particular franchise compared to the other ones, some of them came in and were almost double the cost of what I paid despite having the same product. Then, because my house is older, the stairs aren't very wide towards the top. The installers worked very hard to figure out if there would be enough room and if they could actually put the unit in and get it up there. And they did. They took three and a half hours, and that was only because I had custom rails put in. They were a pleasure to deal with and they did a wonderful job.
The unit is utilizing its purpose. It's very sturdy and it's working fine for my husband. He didn't want it at first, but him going up and down the stairs became a safety hazard. The unit has given me, as well as him, peace of mind. If anybody else is thinking about purchasing one of these units from Bruno, I'm more than happy to give my references.

I'm a registered nurse, and nurses and doctors get magazines but I only saw Williams stairlift and the Bruno chair advertised in little magazines like the Clipper Magazine that came to our house. I saw it twice in a newspaper that was delivered to our house. I didn’t see it advertised in professional magazines or in anything that medical or nursing personnel would know about so that they can say to the person they’re helping at home, “Maybe you need a stairlift.”
I know the info is out there on the internet. But a lot of senior citizens, who can be a perspective customer, don't use the computer. There's a lot of people now who are getting older and are going to stay in their homes. And it would really improve their lives if they knew about it. And this product could improve people's lives if they could afford it or if they were aware of how easy it is to get them put in, to use them, and to get up and down the steps after they have them.
My husband was having difficulty going up and down the stairs. Williams Lifts offered us Bruno and I liked their service. They said if I chose another one, I get the service from those manufacturers. I have three straight stairlifts installed. The stairlifts fit very well as I have a wide staircase so there's enough room for the chairs. And I also have a little platform so the chairs can rest there and they don't obstruct the stairway. They're very compact. People just go right past the chairs. The chair is a nice sturdy chair. The quality is good and the cost was fair. And we got a good price for the three stairlifts. I also had a coupon and they honored it.
My husband uses it for ease to get up and down. It’s easy to use and it is nice and smooth. I also put my laundry on the chair and let it carry the laundry up and down. But in the future, the stairlift might help my needs. It's a wonderful ride and has improved our lives. But my husband got into the chair and it felt like it was tilting towards the right. We had Williams Lifts come and look at one of the chairs. They adjusted the railing and it improved. But, otherwise, the chairs work great. They’re very helpful. So far, we've had a good experience with Bruno.

My husband has pulmonary fibrosis and had fallen because his oxygen saturation went down. When he got out of the hospital, he was not able to go up and down the steps anymore. We called a local supplier of stairlift and Bruno's salesman came and he gave us a price. It was his decision as to which one he sold us. He asked me if wanted to watch a video but I wasn’t in the position to waste time. He explained as much as I would allow him to given that I was always short on time because I was caring for my husband and two of my great-grandchildren which he understood. He said “If that’s what you want, then we’ll just go ahead and do it” and that’s what we did. He told us when he can put it in and I gave him a 50% deposit.
The following week, he brought the stairlift and I paid him the balance. The salesman came with a young man who did the installation. They were both very polite and aware of the situation. Then, the salesman said they would file and send in any paperwork that was necessary for warranties so if I had a problem, I knew who to call but I haven't heard anything back.
And though the stairlift has allowed my husband to go upstairs to sleep in his own bed, to bathe, shave and do whatever he needs to do, it was almost $3000 which for something that goes up and down the steps twice a day is a lot of money for anybody. Also, I’m going to have the gentleman come back and check the stairlift because we have the remote on the wall and when I push it, the stairlift's supposed to take the chair either up or down. However, the chair stops in the middle.

I've used Bruno in the past. My wife talked to the sales rep that came and measured the stairs. He came back the day after I came home from the hospital to put the stairlift in. He was quite personable and knew what he was doing and I enjoy it. I had a straight stairlift and it's pretty good. It's handy, it's easy to use, and it's got everything that I want. Plus the price is right. After I came home, I had an occupational therapist come to check the rest of the house and he was quite pleased that I had chosen a Bruno because these had good reports from the other people that have had them versus other makes. Acorn in particular.
The stairlift lets me get downstairs to where the shower is to have my shower and it gets me downstairs to my man cave for my big screen TV. It's done wonders for me because I was wondering how I can do stairs but this makes it a lot easier. The people that we dealt with, we have used them in the past and we both had good service with them. Everything just fits together and I'd recommend Bruno to anybody else.

My legs can’t climb up and down the steps and I saw a Bruno ad in the Friday Express paper. I had a straight stairlift installed by them and it fits really well. Bruno’s sales visit was a nice experience and they provided excellent service. They had great installers and installation went well. They also did a demonstration for me. The stairlift is of good quality and it gets me up and down the stairs. Its smoothness is all right. I’m not tall so the stairlift helped me. However, it was really expensive for a poor man but it's worth the money. I've already had one friend that asked me about it and I highly recommend them.

I got on the internet and I looked up stairlifts. I called about five people and applied and the rep from Bruno Independent Living Aids was the first one to call. He called me within about two hours. I called about eight o’clock in the morning and he was in my house by quarter after 11 and told me about Bruno and that impressed me.
I’m 77 years old and I’m on Medicare but I don’t think they will help me and I don’t think VA will help me because I needed two lifts. I have a duplex house and it’s actually one home. I needed two lifts, one on each stairway. The Bruno rep said that if I'm a veteran, VA will help me with one so he saved me a lot of money. At that time, I wouldn't want anywhere else but with Bruno because the rep was not interested in making money. He was interested in helping me and putting in a lift. I have to give the man a lot of credit because he put my needs ahead of his and I appreciated that.
I was really happy when VA suggested they would put one in and when they called me and said it’s going to be a Bruno, I was extremely happy because that made both of my stairlifts Bruno and the same people putting them in. It worked out really well. The installer was very good and he knew what he was doing. I had already taken one of the old ones out because VA won’t take it out for me and he took out the other. He put two new ones in within about seven hours and he did a great job. It's a smooth ride for the most part. I don't have a large landing on the first floor so I had to get the extension. When I come down, the lift stops on that extension and it's a little rough. It's transitioning from one rail to another so I understand that it's not a problem. I love my stairlift. It’s nice, quiet and a whole different than the two others I had. It’s not any smoother but I like the care better.

The installation of the stairlift was very easy, quick, and professionally done. The technician was here an hour and a half. I love my chair. It's perfect, quiet, and does the job efficiently. He’s super conscientious and for somebody to be putting bolts in our stairs, we felt really comfortable with him. Also, the installation went great. Andrew did the first one and the second one, which was more detailed and curved, he had two other people who helped him. My parents like everything about the stairlifts, so far. The equipment has been great and the cost was definitely reasonable. I would recommend them to a friend. The quality of the product seems great and the whole process was easy.

We redid our flooring which included the stairs on the first floor and the second floor. We had an old moving vehicle in there and it was a cable drive. It was built 1999 and I got to the point where it wouldn’t operate completely and it would stop halfway down. That was also a precipitating factor in replacing it so we decided to pull the old one out and buy a new one because the floorings were being completed. Someone told me that Bruno was a brand to go for stairlift.
The sales rep I worked with did everything really speedily. They came and took out the old chair a couple of weeks ahead of time so the floors could get done and then came back afterward and installed the new chair. It didn’t take them over two hours to do it. The installation went great. They were also able to accommodate my special needs. The stairlift that we installed was the straight one. It was a different kind of system that they worked on.
The Bruno stairlift is more compact than the original one. It’s very friendly and a lot quieter. It’s pretty strong and has a lot of little things that our old one didn’t have. It has a lever to lower the footplate and a lot comfier. We’re not that disabled and we don’t use it quite that often but we live by the ocean and our living quarters are out the second floor. So we use it for us to get up and down but we use it for groceries and laundry. It gets to the point where we can’t lift some of the stuff anymore so it’s really nice if there is a helping hand. Everything with Bruno was cool.

My husband has a congestive heart failure and has problems lifting his legs high enough to go up the steps on a regular basis. So we decided to get a stairlift so that when he couldn’t get up the stairs, he could ride up instead. In looking at what was available, Bruno seemed to have good reviews and very strong on long-term maintenance and warranty. The sales rep was great. He came out, took a look at what space we needed and told us what he could do, approximately how long it would take and how much it would cost. He was very supportive and informed, so he was able to give us the information we needed.
We got the straight stairlift which was up 10 steps. We have a very wide stairwell and the stairlift fits really great. And the way they installed it was nice and compacted. It came out much better than we had anticipated. The installer was great and was done in less than six hours. He showed us how to use it and spent the time we needed. The stairlift has a good quality. It’s sturdy and we don’t feel a lot of wobbliness on it. For someone not knowing a lot about stairlifts, Bruno really worked out well for us. We’re pleased with it and would tell others that it would be well worth their time to, at the very least, talk with them and find out what Bruno could do for them.

I have walking issues. I walk with a walker and sometimes use a wheelchair when I get tired. We were moving from one part of Massachusetts to another part and the condo that we bought is three levels. I have to climb the stairs in order for me to go upstairs and downstairs, which is a problem because it’s hard for me. While we were in West Royalston, my husband happened to drive by Bruno. He talked to the guy at length and they gave him brochures and information. They had a few stairs where I could try one out and so we went back and I tried it out. I liked it very much. We came up with a couple of other questions over the phone and called the salesman. He gave us the answers to everything and seemed to know his stuff.
We also did our homework and checked other companies. I was never able to try another company because I was very unimpressed with it just from the literature, so I didn’t even want to pursue it. Everything that I read as far as Bruno sounded great. I felt comfortable with the Bruno stairlift. It was very sturdy and had maintenance plan that I can do on a yearly basis. So that was attractive to us and they’re about the same price. I was really impressed with the salesmanship and the fact that it seemed like such a good unit.
We bought two units - one to go to the upper level and one to the lower level. The installers were able to do the whole installation in one day, which we were surprised at because they told us it might spill over into another day, which was fine. They were here first thing in the morning as they said they were going to be and installed everything. The only thing we did was have an electrician come and put plugs in that were closer to the unit so there weren’t any wires all over the place. The installation went seamlessly and the units were working great when done. We also upgraded the foot pad to a larger one because the one we tried out at the store had a smaller one, and it was not comfortable to sit in because of the position of the feet. It was like you're going to fall off and was a little unsettling. The larger pad is better. At first we were told they were not sure if it is going to be automatic, but it is. It works great.
We were very happy with the whole situation. I’m enjoying the stairlift and the fact that it makes the other floors accessible to me. We’re still in the process of unpacking and I’ve been able to go up and down the stairs even when my husband isn’t home like before. I feel comfortable. He also feels comfortable. When we first moved and I didn’t have the stairlift, I was like going up and down is not going to be worth it. Now, I know that once we get everything unpacked, I’ll be able to go up and down the stairs just as well as anybody else.

I’m a handicapped person and I had a scary situation on my stairs. I faltered and thought I should get a stairlift. I read some online reviews that mentioned Bruno had better customer service than a couple of the more popular names I’ve seen advertised. I looked up who distributed Bruno stairlift in my area and I called that distributor. They had a representative come to my home. After that, I went to their shop because I wanted to try a real-life version of the stairlift to make sure I was comfortable with it. Then I ordered the indoor and straight stairlift. The installation took place over the course of two hours. It was a fairly clean job.
I like the convenience and the safety the stairlift gives me. It’s serving its purpose very well and I’m happy to have it. However, after the first couple of weeks, on almost every single trip especially up but sometimes also down, once I press the button to start the trip, there’s a very slow start where the mechanism is at about 10% capacity. It kicks into the full percent capacity four seconds later. And also, the wire that attaches to my nearest outlet seems difficult to install neatly. It looks ugly and faces my entire entryway and living room. It's not able to sit well underneath the lip of the stair. It looks like someone threw staples that fastened onto the stairway. It’s very visible through most of my entire first floor including where we have guests.
Also, my seat is ivory in color and the seatbelt is black. It’s so ugly and I’ve seen other ones that have a seatbelt in the same color as the chair. Most people would prefer that the seatbelt not stick out like a sore thumb like that. The chair on its own is not a beautiful thing. Other than that, I’m unsteady on my legs and it's a big danger factor but with the stairlift, I feel much safer and I can plan my day more freely. I used to wait for a number of things before I went upstairs or downstairs to not have to make more trips than necessary and not to feel at risk more times. Now I’m freer to go up and down as often as I need to without hesitation.

The guy from Bruno Independent Living Aids came and measured and installed it, and he was very nice. I like that the mounted chair moves up and down the stairway and being able to get out of the chair on the top of the floor here and being able to fold it up and send it back downstairs.
It gives more room for people to walk around and get up the steps than it does at the top of the stairs, and that's a great feature. I'm satisfied with it. Before I was having problems getting down the steps but now I'm able to go down to the kitchen and go in and set the table. And my wife doesn't have to bring food up all the time or often. We have a single story home and my dad moved in with us. He was 90 and his exercise equipment was in the basement. I didn’t want him walking down the stairs especially when we're not home so we decided to install a stairlift. I did some research on Bruno Independent Living Aids and their competitors and I saw that Bruno was made in America. My dad being a veteran, I always try to support American made companies so he selected Bruno's chair.
Their sales rep was great. He was with 101 Mobility out here in Alton which was another reason too why my dad chose them because some of the competitors didn’t have local based people. Their competitors drove around in vans and were called in service calls whereas for 101 Mobility, they’re located here in Alton which isn’t far from our home. When there was any problem, the salesman went through all the possibility and things that were available through their office and being a local company, my dad was sold in that too.
The stairlift fits well into the stairwell. Going downstairs is four foot wide staircases as opposed to the normal three feet so we got a little extra room there which is nice. The other thing that got us sold on it as well was the rail where the chair sits on. We have grandchildren and they're under the age of nine so from a safety standpoint, not being able to stick anything in the tracks where the gears were exposed when they go downstairs is good. With this, I can still get at the gears because I got to lubricate them and you got to sit and play with it. By the time one of these kids would be playing with it, my dad would be sitting in there.
We had it installed in January. The installer was good and prompt. They said that he'll be here between 9:00 and 10:00 and he was here five after 9:00. He was also very clean, very respectful of our property and he did a great and very thorough job. He went through the demonstration and all the safety features. He also went through the booklet regarding how to troubleshoot and he showed my dad how to get on it when something wasn't right. He said that the benefit was that it doesn’t always have to be at the top docking station. It'll charge anywhere along the rail. It went really well.
The stairlift has enabled my dad to get downstairs and use up his exercise equipment. It’s a bit of quality life as opposed to just remaining upstairs. He’s able to get downstairs, do things and be independent. The only drawback is where I’m at, in Hampshire, Illinois, it was difficult finding a Bruno dealer. The search feature on the internet for Bruno kept sending the south side of Chicago but that is 75 miles away so I decided to call and email them. Once I found their number and called, Bruno was able to locate a dealer close to me. They knew who they distribute to so they were able to send us 101 Mobility in Alton. Otherwise, it would have taken me a while to find a dealer. We bought from the distributor and I would highly recommend it. It was very easy to deal with them. We have the product for almost two months now and it's very durable, easy to use and very intuitive too.

My wife has Parkinson’s and a hip problem. We got a stairlift from Bruno for getting up and down the steps. I looked at various important things like reliability and local support in choosing a stairlift provider. There were a couple of providers that came close with the reliability that I was looking for and it was hard to tell who was better. From the local support, if I have to call somebody that’s 100 miles away that I have a problem, then my response won't be as good. There were differences in the prices and warranties with all of the people that I looked, but it all boils down that it was similar except the time on warranties was different. The responses from other people that had bought from Bruno were also important and some of their competitors had very negative responses.
The person that came out was friendly and informative. I knew what I wanted to look at and I’ve got the straight version but my preference would have been the curved one but the cost differential didn’t warrant what I wanted. I wanted the chair to park farther away from the steps. From a safety standpoint, they can look at cheapening it up for future development where they can make something that works from extrusions. During installation, one of the people was the same as the one that came out for the sales and then there was the bonafide installer. They were quick and efficient. After a lot of research I thought Bruno was the best chair made. But their sales rep was too pushy, which was my only problem. He used this technique of making me his friend and making me feel good. He found out that I was a Vietnam veteran so he talked about his son being in the military, which I don’t care for that stuff. I wanted him to tell me what the goodness of the product was about.
Nevertheless, I have two of their stairlifts. I bought a used straight one and I like how quiet it was, how good it works and the quality of it. And so I called Bruno back and bought a curve one. Both stairlifts fit excellently into our stairwells. The installers were great and they knew their worth. They did a fantastic job and cleaned up better than my wife cleans. In fact, I called the company and told the local distributor that they were excellent. Everything was perfect.
Besides being in the military, I’m also a retired engineer so everything has to make sense to me as an engineer. When I go up using the curve stairlift the chair turns 45 degrees gently and goes up the next slide of stairs. It never stops. The other feature that they don’t sell correctly is what they call the overrun at the top. The overrun takes me over the top steps into a landing, which makes it a lot easier to get in and out of the chair.
The asking price was $1,500 more than I was willing to pay so we negotiated it. It’s $800 more and it’s worth every dime even if I would have to pay full price worth. The used stairlift was only six months old and it didn’t have a scratch on it. They put new batteries in it and we used quite a bit of money on that. Their competitor charges about the same amount of money but they don’t have the quality. The stairlifts from Bruno is quality made. It’s a beautiful product and I like it. It's very well made.

I'm totally disabled and confined to a wheelchair and walker for a while. I've got a muscle problem called Polymyalgia Rheumatica and been on medication for 22 years. My condition will not get better and I will slowly deteriorate over time. So my sister, Sylvia, and cleaning lady have to stand there while I use my walker to get downstairs. But Sylvia's 80 now and I'm 77. I've got four different diseases and things are going to get worst. So we needed to make the house disability friendly and allow me to stay home.
We were told over and over that we could not accommodate a chairlift and that the house wasn't right. But when Matt from Bruno Independent Living Aids came to bring me a transport wheelchair, he said that he could put a stairlift in our house. If it hadn't been for him, I would not have had the chairlift that day. He was good at explaining, patient and understanding. He could see what people needed and I knew he wasn't going to waste our money because we didn't have that much. And if he didn't think I was going to need something, he was not going to sell me that. He tried to make it as best he could and we were so thrilled.
If he said he was going to be here at 2 o'clock tomorrow, he'd be here. He double checked everything, too, and if he was busy, he'd tell you but he kept his word. He was so accommodating and honest, plus, he didn't make me feel like a stupid bum. I trusted him in all the ways that I possibly could. If I needed a break to think, he'd give me time and was not a rowdy salesman. He even left the wheelchair for a bit and told me to try it first. And when the OT girl came, he had one in the truck for somebody else's he was delivering and told me to sit on it and see how I'd feel on it. So, it all worked out.
I now have a set of a normal wheelchair, the stairlift, and the transport wheelchair. My sister and I feel safe having them. She went up on the stairlift the other day and she looked safe. I used it this morning all by myself and I felt like a little kid. Now, my sister could go to the kitchen and I've got to get rid of my fear factors. The chairlift has saved our lives and kept me in my home. Bruno is top of the notch and and they had a good communication with us. To all that helped, Matt had been unbelievable. His boss was also very good and they obviously have a good rapport, which is really important among staff. I've referred him to two people and one of them has already phoned him. My wife had a broken femur and she was not able to go up and down the stairs. 101 Mobility recommended Bruno Independent Living Aids, so I went with their recommendation and it has worked out great. We had the straight stairlift installed. It takes up room but it’s not bad. I’d like it smaller but I don’t see how they can make it smaller and still do the job. We have it in both our home and vacation place. However, we need to figure out how to get past the stairlift when we put a new washer and dryer in our vacation place. But it’s a great product although I couldn't use it because the maximum weight it can carry is 300 pounds and I weight more than that.
I was very impressed with the installation and they did a great job. I went over all the stairlift's features and the installer showed us how to use it. The board went bad and it had to be replaced. The guy who replaced it didn’t do a good job and the board was burnt out. We replaced the whole board then they took care of it. Without the stairlift, my wife would be confined to the first floor as she won't be able to go upstairs to our bedroom on the second floor in our home as well as in our vacation place where the whole living area is on the second floor.

Everything has been perfect with Bruno. I bought from them because of their reputation, price, and online ratings and got the Elan model, a straight stairlift, to reduce the use of a staircase. It gives a smooth ride. Also, the installers were very good and thorough. They answered all my questions and the job seemed outstanding. They were great to work with.

My mom is 93 and has congestive heart failure, so it’s difficult for her to climb stairs. I went to Washington Medical which is our local medical equipment facility and they carried Bruno Independent Living Aids. During their sales visit, their representative was pretty cut and straightforward that they showed me what they had and told me that they had success with it. I got their straight stairlift and it's pretty good. There’s still room if I lift up the footplate or the armrest so I could get by and take the stairs. We're happy with that.
Their installer was very knowledgeable and I like him a lot. The two times we had an issue, he came and solved the problem fairly quickly. He told us that there was a little glitch where one rail wasn’t enough so he had to use a part of a second rail. And where they come together, there’s a hiccup every once in a while, the piece of plastic pops up, and it causes it to stop. So we had it taped down. There should be a screw or something there to hold that piece of plastic down so that it doesn’t pop up and cause the stairlift to stop. Putting a piece of duct tape on a brand-new piece of equipment is not my idea of good quality. It shows poor construction.
We also had a couple of times when the stairlift didn’t function properly and left us in a bind. Bruno Stairlifts didn't provide service after hours or on weekends and I was not happy about that part. They should have a number where we could call 24/7 if we needed a repair, other than the installer. My mom is dependent on the stairlift to get her up and down the stairs so when we couldn't call after 4:00 or on the weekends, it makes it difficult. Still, Bruno Stairlifts made our lives so much better. My mom wouldn't be able to stay in this house if she didn't have it. I have recommended them to a friend who was looking to buy one.

My 82-year-old mother who lives with me has a basement apartment in my house. She had taken a fall, so we thought it was time to put a chairlift. My father-in-law has one of Bruno’s models, so he gave me the card to the technician that had installed his. During the sales visit, the gentleman was professional. I was on the phone with him while my nephew was there with my mother, so he was very considerate to my mother and put up with my nephew who's not the brightest boy. It probably helped that we knew exactly what we wanted because my father-in-law already had one. Also, my basement is a straight shot coming up the stairs, so he knew that the model I was going to need was one that would be stocked. Bruno’s chairlift was a good value for the dollar. I had heard that they were more expensive but that's for somebody who has a spiral staircase or more.
The rep came on a Monday and I told him that I wanted the best one they had and one that was going to have no maintenance. They installed the chairlift on a Friday, and the team was efficient, quick, and friendly. The chairlift fits in our stairwell really well. Stairs to a basement are a bit more snug than the stairs if they were upstairs, but when the chairlift is all folded up, it's perfectly fine for anybody else going up and down the stairs walking. With the Bruno chairlift, my mom feels confident, and she can get up the stairs now. I tried the chairlift myself, and it's very smooth. My mom feels safe and she also feels like she has her independence back again, so that's worth everything. Bruno’s chairlift is excellent, and it solved the problem that we had in the house. My mother loves it, and we're very happy that we got it.

They told me they were going to install the next day but a week later, I was still waiting for the install so I canceled my order and I went with Bruno. Their product was more reasonable by about $200 than the Acorn chairlift. My experience with Bruno was excellent. The lady I talked to over the phone went out of her way to get the chairlift installed for me as soon as she could. The installers got right in when they said they would and got the job done. They cleaned up after themselves and did a nice job. The chair works fine and I’m very happy with the outcome.

My dad is 84 and has to use a walker to get around. He doesn’t have a lot of stamina. My mom is 82 and she has similar issues. From an ad that we had, I called Bruno Independent Living Aids and they picked up the phone right away. I explained to them what we were doing and their representatives were very friendly and helpful. They understood right away what we were trying to do and pretty much knew what needed to happen like needing to come and take dimensions. I also had a bunch of questions about weather resistance and electrical access and they answered all of my questions. They were very knowledgeable and very experienced in what they were doing. They came out on the same day they said they'd be out.
Their installation team was fantastic and got the stairlift installed within a couple of hours. Since the stairlift was blocking the steps and I had to get up and down a little bit, they made room for me to get in and out. So far, my mother has been using the stairlift on a daily basis and it has impacted her life incredibly. My dad hasn't used it yet but he has a doctor's appointment this Friday and the stairlift will help us get him out of the house. In the past, we were having to take him in a wheelchair around the back of our house to the yard. That was sometimes a little sketchy because of the wet grass. We love the Bruno stairlift and it's a great investment. The price is a little expensive but we’re happy we got it and it’s coming in very handy. The only thing I wish we could have done was to have it come further off on the porch because it blocks the stairway a little bit. But we can live with that.

Also, our sales rep was knowledgeable. He told us the good, the bad and the things we could expect. He told us more than we asked and gave us good and reliable information. The installers knew what they were doing and it didn’t take them very long to finish the job. We already have recommended Bruno Independent Living Aids to friends.

My mother-in-law can’t walk up and down the steps. I called a couple of companies and the owner of the Bruno Stairlifts store knew more about it. He came in for an estimate and he seemed to care more compared to the other companies. He also told us what we didn’t need, which was very helpful. We got the straight lift with the deluxe seat. Before the installation, we had to go to his office as they had set-up a demo there. That was helpful since my mother-in-law was hesitant on using the chair. By him doing that, it was easy for us and she said that we could do this. There were two installers, the owner and his staff. They came in on a set date, installed everything, and walked us through everything that they were going to do prior to it. After they were done, they trained us on working on it.
If we have a question, the owner would answer our call and walk us through stuff. I have a young kid and when she removed the key, we couldn’t figure out why the stairlift wasn’t working. So we called him, which was super late, and he was able to help us. That’s the one-on-one care and customer service that we signed up for. Even after he sold us the product, he hasn’t stopped paying attention to us. So the customer service at this branch is the best. They are more family oriented and that's a plus. I would recommend others to go and use their product. The compactness and quality of the stairlift is good and it's easy to use. My mother-in-law loves the chair and compared to others, it’s a good buy. It would cost us more if she were to fall as compared to what we spent on the chair. It’s also safer and has made her and our lives easier.

We've been very happy with Bruno Stairlifts. I was looking mostly for the integrity of the stairlift and they were the highest rated for exterior chairlifts. We got in touch with them and the initial process went pretty good. On the other hand, I had to get a building permit from the county, but it took a long time to get all the questions answered from our particular vendor. Also, there were things that were required by building codes that they didn’t give me access to and it took a while to get it. It was a little cumbersome. Other than that, the person that I dealt with gave us everything that we needed.
In addition, we had one day that the stairlift wasn’t operating correctly. We called and the technician, Philip, came out the same day and fixed it for us so, we were thoroughly happy. My husband uses it and he's very happy with all the features. Also, the cost and the stairlift's quality are compatible. It was worth the cost and I wouldn't choose any other company. I’ve referred several people to Bruno.

My husband has a neural muscular condition that he’s losing the use of his legs. We have a handicap accessible house and we don’t have to use our lower level but we decided that if we could get him to his spot, we would do it. I saw a Bruno Independent Living Aids ad and when I went to this local medical supply store I visited while getting items for my mother, I talked to them about the stairlift. I liked the people there and they could install the stairlift right away. Also, their product is made in Wisconsin and we live in Wisconsin. I like to support my state. Plus, there were good reviews on Bruno. The medical supply store reps said that Bruno had really good service and they had minimal problems with the equipment.
They gave us some cost estimates before they visited our home. Then they came to our home and measured. We have foot higher walls than standard so we had to have a longer rail but that was not a problem. The lift came in very quickly and they had put together whatever pieces they had to put together before they got here. Then it was just a matter of putting the rail in and hooking up the charger part. They installed it in a very short time andwe were amazed. It was easy-breezy. They then gave us the instructions and showed us how to run it. They let us do it and gave us information about registering the equipment.
My husband loves it because it gets him down the stairs safely and I like it for the same reason. I like also that it folds up and if I need to carry something a little wider down the stairs, it’s easier to get around it. We have a one-story house, so our stairlift goes from one story to a finished basement. When I stored my Christmas bins in our basement, I put those heavy bins on the chairlift and folded them up. That was an extra bonus I wasn’t counting on. Sometimes I sat and held the bin and sometimes I would put two of them on the chair and walk alongside it depending on how well they balanced. The stairlift is just what we needed and it's perfect. If you need one, just go for it.

My doctors at the VA recommended Bruno to me because I had had three back surgeries, I have a cage built in my back and I just had a knee replaced. I don't walk well due to my back injuries. Their salespeople were quite knowledgeable. They had a pretty interesting system they used to measure things out. They had to come back and redo it though since they made a mistake on it. The team that came to put stairlift in were really good. They put on little booties to come in and they cleaned up after themselves. My home is almost 100 years old and my stairs are not the widest like new homes, but they managed to get it and it comes down in curves at the bottom. They also showed me how to operate it and that I should have to put a little of the grease they gave me along with it on the track.
I'm up and down the stairs several times a day and the Bruno stairlift is a smooth ride and it certainly helps me a lot. It is really sturdy and it does a good job. I'm only 214 pounds and they said that I don't have to worry as it can hold up to 400 pounds. I'm 79 and my wife will be 75 and she has a bad back so it is really beneficial to both of us. It has made it much easier for me in the steps. Before, I was using a cane and the railing going up stairs and sometimes I had to stop because my back hurt. I had three presentations and I was more impressed with Bruno's. Whenever I asked questions, the rep answered them exactly as I hoped he would. He went over and above what he had to do. I’m only 4’11" and consequently, the setup was high for me and I couldn’t reach the little thing that’s stuck out at the bottom for the feet. He built one and covered it with a piece of carpeting that I had on both my chairs and it works perfectly. He and the person who helped him tended to my needs and were absolutely devoted to making sure that I was satisfied with my purchase. But the stairlift is not facing the outside, and I wish it was either facing upstairs or downstairs. Nevertheless, the stairlift gets me from point A to B. It’s also very nice and sturdy. I’m thoroughly pleased with my purchase and with the care that was given to me. I'd definitely recommend Bruno to others.

Our daughter did a lot of research for us and she liked Bruno Independent Living Aids. They were very polite and informative on how to use the lift. Also, they told us what to look for and when it was time for maintenance. We got the straight option and it fits into my stairwell very well. We also got the large seat and the installation team had to have a different kind of rail and it also had that cushion. It took them a little bit but they got it in and that was fine since not many people had the extra large chair. Also, they cleaned up very well. They picked up the front yard and they had to cut the railing and add in. They did a wonderful job.
The seat is very nice. What is great about the extra large seat is that we can stuff the seat and it automatically takes the seat up and then the other one will unload. I also love the quality. It is just wonderful. My husband can go up and down and he can get in and out of the chair on the top of the stairs with no problem. I do not have to watch him. When we go up and down the railing, it is a very solid line. I do not worry about falling out. It's a great stairlift and it has been fantastic. I have already recommended it to several people because they came and rode up and down to see how it was.

Both of my legs are amputated so I decided to get a stairlift. CRI recommended Bruno and their people managed the sale. They came and talked to me, told me how it was going to be and what I would do. They also told me how long it would take to put the stairlift once I got approved. They told me about Bruno and how they dealt with them all the time. The Bruno reps are never late when they come in and get right on the job. My stairs are a little weird so it took a longer time than they thought to install the stairlift. I had a curved stairlift because there are two steps, a big landing and another two steps. But once the installation team started going, they got in it in no time at all.
On the first day, the rep came to see the stairs and they measured it. He did well because the stairlift fits perfectly. When the rep came, he took a million pictures. He was here for half an hour for the blue, and once they had it made, it wasn't long before it was done.
I got a curved stairlift and the installer showed us how to use it. My husband asked why it bumps a little bit, and the rep said that that's where it's pieced together. It couldn't be one piece because we have two curves, but there's no problem. My husband had it bad before he broke his femur, and now I don't have to get behind him, grab his belt and pull him up every time he makes a step. I purchased a stair lift from Bruno. I needed one because I have MS. I had one previously that was not reliable because it was an older model and it was exceedingly sturdy and steady. It went all the way up. It also had issues with charging so I got rid of it. The installers who came were exceedingly helpful. My only issue was we live in a house that was built in 1890. So the back stairwell is very steep and it is not similar to other stairwells. There is a step-up where they have to put it on and then there’s a landing and then a step-up to the hallway.
And because of the safety precautions, the installers couldn’t make the stair lift go higher than the flat surface of the step-up. I would have much preferred it to go a bit higher so that I would have more gravity to get off of the chair on to the hallway. And then once I got on the hallway, I could then continue to make the chair go up maybe another foot so it wouldn’t be out of the way of the stairwell going down so other people could use it as well. But Bruno wouldn’t let me do that. The guy who is installing it kept calling the manager and sending pictures back. Even so, the installers did very well. The stair lift works all the time but I feel like the armrest could be more solid. It feels flimsy and I think it should feel very secure. Nevertheless, it has been helpful. I would definitely recommend Bruno Stairlifts to others.

We got Bruno Independent Living Aids stairlift through Safe at Home in DC. Safe at Home referred us to a contractor who put the chair in. It was to keep my 91 year-old mother safe in her home and so that she can go back and forth, up and down from the first level to the second level without having to climb her stairs. The contractors were great, and they worked very diligently to make sure that the stairlift was in, that it was working, that it met our needs, and they provided a demonstration. Also, we did not have any problems with their cleanliness and professionalism.
The stairlift fits very well. I like that it is compact and it is able to do what we need it to do, which is to be able to get my mother upstairs safely. Also, she was getting tired of going up and down the stairs, so this was a big, big help. I have bad knees and Matt recommended Bruno. Upon doing some research, Matt from 101 Mobility knew what he was recommending and if it was good enough for him, it certainly was good enough for me. He came right away and he aimed to please and keep the customer happy. I have been having some issues with one of the Brunos and he is trying to troubleshoot with people from the Bruno Corporation. I have the straight stairlift and at this point, we have come to a conclusion that it may be a contact issue, and having to use some emery cloth on more than one occasion, because the chair hesitates going up or down. It doesn’t happen each and every time but it does so frequently. I’m working with him and trying to give him as much feedback as I can on my end to resolve the issue.
The stairlift was installed by Matt and another man named Todd from 101 Mobility. They were extremely professional and customer service is phenomenal and top-notch. The stairlift fits just fine and I'm very comfortable with its compactness. My first adventure with it was a little fearful but it’s always with something new. It became part of my life as it’s giving me my life back. The up and down feature means a lot. Other than the issue that we have which is ongoing with one of them, the quality of the stairlift is fine. If I could have gotten it for less money, it would have made me happier. I would tell other people to do their research. Just because it works for me, it doesn’t mean it’s going to work for someone else. Also, I would advise them to talk to Matt at 101 Mobility.

My wife had cancer about six years ago and after she went through that she started with the arthritis problems from the chemo. The doctor told my wife that she couldn’t do stairs anymore. Her osteoarthritis just kept getting worse, so we decided that rather than moving and going through that expense, we just get the Bruno Independent Living Aids stairlift. I was familiar with Bruno’s products but I looked at other things like Acorn. When I talked to A1 Mobility, they said that in their test the Bruno stairlift was faster. Acorn is a lot slower.
The representative who came here was pretty sharp and he knew right what to do. We have a curved staircase and we knew it was going to be custom made and that was going to be expensive. What the rep did was he came with his laptop and he put on a show showing us the lift, how it works and its features. Then I said, “Fine, let’s do it.” He got out his measuring equipment and he laid out the stairs and took all the pictures so his engineers could get the drawings. He suggested just running the cable under the door but I’m not going to have that, so I had an electrician drop a line and put electricity downstairs right where I could plug it in. It’s where the chair parks so it’s a nice, clean and slick installation.
The installers did a really good job. My wife was a little concerned as they were hammer drilling the tile work but I wasn’t too concerned. They got a brand new drill bit so that satisfied me. They were pretty fast and they knew what they were doing. There were no marks on the walls and no dirty boots. They were very professional. They showed us how to work it and how to fold everything up. It was pretty simple.
The lift fits very well and it would be nice if it was closer to the wall but because I have stair rails on both sides of the stairs, that’s not possible. The only thing I don’t like that drives me crazy is that at the bottom landing, the stair rail comes down and it is cut at a 90-degree angle. There’s a door right there and that 90-degree angle pokes out into the door. It looks almost threatening when I see that big jagged piece of metal sticking out against the door. I was surprised when it came out that way. It doesn’t look right and it didn’t ever occur to me to ask the installers. It would be nice if the end of the run was a 45-degree angle. It wouldn’t violate any integrity, it would improve the appearance and make it safer.
Also, the second curve on the way up clacks when the lift goes over but that just can’t be helped. There’s no way you could put a rack where the joint is and not have it make a noise when it goes over it. But the lift is top quality. All the plastic moldings and the battery carrier are great. It’s a good color match for our house. I can go upstairs now and I was able to go up for the first time in about 10 years. My wife’s knee problems are over and she doesn’t hurt anymore. She’s up and down the stairs about ten times a day, so it’s getting a lot of use. It serves as a utilitarian device and the chair is pretty comfortable too. People that have come to visit us haven’t had any problem going up and down. We just fold the seat when they’re here.
We got two controllers. My wife got them in the pantry. She knows where they are because she used them a couple of times already when she sends stuff up like rolls of toilet paper and packaged things, she just put them on the seat and that works out good. I’m just hoping the batteries hold out for a couple of years at least. It’s always a pain to have to change the batteries out as I’m past where I can change them on my own.
If you need a stairlift, get a Bruno. It’s a better product and it’s a little bit speedier. It’s important to have the speed. If you’re going up and down the stairs quite a few times a day, speed starts to become an issue especially when there is somebody knocking at the front door and you’re upstairs. My wife was a little jittery, tends to be a little impatient and she complains about it taking 45 seconds now to go top to bottom. When I have to buy another lift for my van, I’m going to get a Bruno.

I’m getting old and getting up the stairs is hard for me. I’m on oxygen so the stairs really knock me out. It so happened that Bruno Independent Living Aids and I clicked on pretty good with the prices and time. The sales rep, Ralph, was also the installer and he was a good fellow. I got along with him okay. I asked him a lot of questions that I wanted to and he agreed to it, and we went along that way. We discussed the price and they came over about a week to ten days after we talked about it. He came over with his staff and they started installing them, as well as demonstrate how the lifts work.
I also got one that’s a little fancy because there is not enough space to project over the landing so they had to put a piece and it raises up and folds away and comes down when the lift comes down to the level so it stops halfway and then the extension goes up and down, and then it continues on. The average is strictly up or down, so that was a bit more complicated than usual. They were good and professional. There could have been a problem eventually with this one lift and I called Bruno, and somebody came out and fixed it right away so it’s good service. I had three straight stairlifts installed. The second one, which we liked and was recommended was a Stannah that's made in England. And then we had Bruno. The reason we liked Bruno was it was an American company in Wisconsin. With Stannah, we were giving our money to England. Bruno also had the highest rating and we could get it faster than the one from England.
We also really liked the dealer who came out and explained everything to us. He was honest and very helpful with the design, which looked very nice on our staircase. It has a few curves and the detail on it looks like wainscoting and it looks well with our staircase. The installation team was wonderful. They set the stairlift up on the driveway and then came in. I'd like to buy my own replacement parts from the least expensive source. Can't be done. The vicious circle starts with a call to Bruno for parts or part specifications. That's get an instant referral to some dealer who may or may not be close. That's how a $.30 washer becomes $35.00. Also, I had to pick up the part myself (35 miles one-way, 70 mile round trip) to avoid the standard shipping fee of $10.00. Does that make sense? I need new batteries for the lift and I can just imagine trying to get a parts manual to see how to access the battery compartment. Come on folks. These are not parts for a Mercedes Benz! These are parts for (usually) lower income, retired people who don't need to pay ridiculous prices for parts and argue with a vendor about those parts after the original price paid for the lift. If anything they've got it backwards. The lift should be free and parts should be pricey but not both. Seems like a racket.

My wife and I had many discussions and even arguments about it and we compromised by getting stairlifts to reduce the tensions of going up and down the stairs. Also, I'm 89 years old and I have problems going up the stairs. I had seen Acorn, but I was impressed with Bruno's background and how they came about and I thought it would be an appropriate one to buy. I filled out the form and within two days, somebody contacted me.
The turn around was very good and I spoke to several other people. I was impressed with their view that they would come and analyze the situation. They were also obviously concerned that everything should work out for me. That was very clear in their discussion with me. We had various options and I have two staircases here. The person interviewing me said that he was concerned too about certain things and we agreed on where we should go. I was very impressed with Bruno and they were honest. They told me exactly what the stairlifts would cost and they sent me emails keeping me up to date. Also, the installers did their job. They knew what they had to do and they did it at a very fast time. They were very professional.
I have a staircase going up to the bedroom. It's split into a short number of steps and then a full number of steps, and we decided to put a stairlift on the full number of steps. My wife did not like it to spin around onto the smaller group because it was right near the front door. Also, because we have difficulty in bringing packages down from the street, we decided to put another one on the street level and come down to our kitchen level. The stairlifts were quite wonderful and I had very little concern about while the installers were working and what they did.
I'm a medical scientist and I was very impressed with the outdoor one because of the way it's covered and protected from the weather. It has a covering which you flip down and protects it. The stairlift inside was perfect but the steps on the outside one were a little narrow. But it's perfectly usable and we send the packages down on it. I also like that the inside stairlift is not that visible for people who come into the house. Both stairlifts are very well made and everything works. I particularly like the fact that there is a Wi-Fi system that you can send it down and push and raise it up without the buttons. The Bruno stairlifts are very well designed and it does what it's supposed to do. We've had it several months now and I am delighted to have it and to use it.

My client had gotten to the point where he was needing a stair lift. He's had three strokes and he was doing the best he could to come up and down the steps. I was offered some information from Safe at Home and they chose Bruno. The sales people were wonderful. They were so well mannered and diligent. We got a straight stair lift and the installers knew what they had to do when they came in. We got out of their way and they did what they needed to do. Everything was beautiful.

The Bruno Stairlift was very expensive, but I had someone coming home from the hospital who was no longer able to go up and down the stairs and we had to have something. We have it installed outside on the stairs from my deck to my yard and we didn't make any modifications to the existing deck to accommodate it. It's functional and it does what it's supposed to do. I would recommend it.

May 2013 my Bruno stairlift just stopped working. Called local dealer who had installed it, made an appointment for them to come out and repair it. Never showed, never called. After 3 attempts with the same result, gave up, called another dealer, who told me he would come out and look at it for $2500, might cost me another $1500 to $2000 to actually repair it. A ridiculous figure, so contacted the Bruno factory about buying parts and fixing it myself. Was told I would have to buy what parts I needed from a local dealer, who then would have to come out and install the parts. Anyone can see the obvious problem with that, so after almost four years, my Bruno stairlift is still sitting dead.

We had the Bruno Turny Seat installed for our handicapped daughter. As long as it works the seat was nice and convenient, but once you had problems, you are at the mercy of Bruno. First of all the authorized dealers are few and far apart. The small pendant - the small device with two buttons to control the seat - costs over $400 (according to Wheelchair Get Away in Bethel, Connecticut) plus another $350 in labor to diagnose and fix it. It took a week from ordering the part to receiving it by the dealer. Can you imagine if you are traveling far away from home? The small motor of the seat costs another $1000, and the news is that Bruno will not have parts for the 6-year old seat anymore. Bruno really tries to squeeze every penny out of the disabled or their family. It is a family business run by a greedy family.

We received a joey lift from a friend of ours. He couldn't find anyone to install his lift so he gave it up. I spent hours trying to find the bracket for the lift to install in our van. I called Bruno directly. They sent me to various dealers all hours away. I call each of these dealer, with the closest one being 4 and half hours away and asked what they could do. Only thing they could do was offer to install the lift themselves. There is no way we are driving four hours one way to their shop, waiting four hours for them to install the lift, and then four hours back, while being charged 500 dollars. That is completely ridiculous when my dad is a mechanic and can figure out how to install a bracket or secure the lift inside the van.
I called and tried to find someone who could send us parts, no one called my back. I called Bruno directly again with them just trying to find me a local dealer. We don't have a local dealer! I waited a day and talked it over with the family. I called again today and got a hold of a place that was willing to send me the part for a small fee of 440 and 35 dollars shipping. Either way they wanted 500 dollars from me. We aren't sure what we are going to do, as no one understandably wants to buy these lifts. We now know why our friend purchased a scooter ramp instead of installing this lift. I seriously hope Bruno gets better customer service. Elissa and Dave on the phone y'all were worthless.

The safety is very safe for my families. I received it a few days ago and I totally love it. The adjustment is very recommended to any and everyone. I totally agree with the adjustments to this requires for this specific tool, and definitely recommended this to family and friends also. The swivel ability is perfect in my case. I am so surprised with this action. I never knew it would work so perfect. I'm totally in love with it. The value is really worth paying for. I would definitely give the value a A-plus because it's perfect for value.

It's a dependable American made stairlift. It has a swivel seat with height adjustments which makes it very easy to get on and off of. It has a soft smooth ride from start to finish. It also has a armrest rocker switch for easy operation. And a safety belt and obstruction sensor. And onboard audio diagnostics to help if something goes wrong. Adjustability is just wonderful. With a swivel seat and height adjustment makes it very enjoyable. It also has flip up arms and footrest. The swivel feature make it very nice to get comfortable and makes it very safe to use. If you want the safest and easiest stairlift to use for your money. Then look no further. Well worth the price. You get what you pay for with this stairlift. The best on the market. Other lifts may cost less. But you're not getting the best that you could.

The latches and straps are very secure. The lift up and down is generally very smooth. Every once in a while, it feels like it kind of skips a little bit, but it's not enough to do any damage. The adjustability of it is amazing. It's very easy to do and it's also very quick to make any of the adjustments you may need to do. Moving from one position to another is very smooth. Even someone that is kind of frail can make the adjustments with ease. If you're looking for a stair lift with extremely smooth swivel ability, then this is the one for you. It almost feels as if you're floating on air. This stair lift in my opinion is a very good value. The price is very reasonable for what you get. The swivel is very light and the ride itself is smooth except for the occasional bump. Even the bumps aren't bad though.

It was safe, and it was ok when you used it and rode on it. You didn't feel like you were going to fall or get hurt in any kind of way, you knew you would make it up or down safely. It could have been a little better on the adjustment part cause, it worked ok but it was a little limited on what it would let you do, other than it was ok. It was very good for the money, there was a couple things that could be fixed or have been a little better but overall it was very good, we loved it and my mom loved it and she used it most as she has issues with her legs.

Goes up and down, slow and fast. Very easy to use. Even a young child can use it. No problems so far. Easy and fast installed. Within hours was in and usable. Easy controls. Very happy so far. I love this so far. The chair easy to move around. Even has a backup when the electric goes out. It is a great investment for a handicapped person. You could even get it uninstalled to a new home if you need it to. One of the best I had, and I had one that broke down one time every other month.

The safety features are very helpful and very understandable when I really needed help. I would totally recommend this company. They are very helpful. Its adjustability is very stable and very easy to get used to and understand. I am very satisfied with business I had with this company. No complications when you need help. Very easy to tell you. Fast and straightforward on what you need to do and how fast the process is going to be. Overall they're very good to work with except the fact that you have to fill out some paperwork but that won't take too long. The perceived value the company prevails itself is very normal. Nothing too extra or not enough to get your attention. Never leaving the site confused and not knowing if anyone can help you there.

Most amazing most fabulous most incredible product ever. Very cautious, very safe. Very much top of the line product out there. Highly recommended. Can adjust very easily. Is very flexible and easy to manage. The product comes with written and very visual descriptions so it is very easy to handle. Not too sure on the swivel ability but everything is pretty much self explanatory. Anyone who can follow simple instructions can and would be able to figure it out. The value of this product is very reasonable. You would think it was worth more than it actually is because it seems so rich because of the appearance. But that just makes it all more worth it and why I chose to use this product in the first place.
