    We contacted multiple companies and received multiple quotes. Bold Moving and Storage offered the best value and assured us that our move would be done without issue. Moving day came and they called prior to let us know that they were about an hour away. They showed up, went over all the details of the move (2 storage units and a townhouse) and the contents. They were very professional, careful and pleasant. They inventoried all our items, wrapped everything in blankets and plastic wrap and loaded carefully. We were moving from VA to FL, they arranged for delivery, again followed up with phone calls and text messages on their ETA and worked flawlessly to offload our items into the house and garage.

    I cannot say enough about how professional their team was in both the pickup (Ian and crew) and delivery (Ace & Terry). We were very apprehensive about the whole move as neither my wife nor myself had ever hired movers before but this experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. Thank you Bold Moving and Storage for making moving a pleasure and not a pain! A great experience for sure!

    Many moves and many different companies later, I researched movers for a last trouble free move and found Bold Moving and Storage (BMS). A 5 star rating backed by customer testimonies that told the real story about who and what BMS was really all about. The day of the move came, Ian, Troy, Leo and Demetrius arrived and that's when the real assets of BMS shined. I never saw a moving company take time to ensure everything is wrapped and protected before taking any item to the truck. Even moving items from inside my home out to the truck was done so very carefully as if they were moving the most delicate treasures. This was truly a testament to their work ethic and the company's dedication to their most valued resources, the customer.

    I could not believe how hard, how diligent, and how quickly Ian, Troy, Leo and Demetrius carefully loaded the truck and set out for my new home. At my new home destination, the crew continued with their professionalism and hard work, despite the fact they had been working all day in extreme heat, to put all of the items in their new spaces as well as reassembling all the items that had been disassembled for the move. I cannot say enough great things about my moving experience with BMS and especially about the the work done by Ian, Troy, Leo and Demetrius.     Moving is inherently stressful and our crew went above and beyond to help us have a good experience. Our foreman, Ian, is an ace. He has a consistently positive attitude, attention to detail, and applies expertise gained from years of experience. We want to work with him again, with no hesitation. He is so wise and courteous, we’d trust him to raise our kids.

    The crew we had included Neko, Leo and Demetrius and they all were careful and hard-working. Everybody was digging deep to race the freight elevator time restrictions. Even though Bold gave me a higher quote than other moving companies, I knew picking a smaller company that isn’t just a broker would ensure the job would be done with care. Watching the way they filled the truck under Ian’s direction it was clear it was all strategic. Neko is also a professional musician and has great taste in music to listen to while packing and he packed and moved with an efficient rhythm that was straight-up musical.

    Leo tackled our entire storage unit and loaded with a quiet efficiency that was surprising in a good way. Demetrius was a packing superstar who went into the kitchen and set to work with laser focus on dishes and fragile things. They were all really nice guys and it was comfortable having them around all day. They were kind to our pets, too! Job very well done.

    A wonderfully smooth move with a great team of guys! I was worried, initially, as we have some very heavy furniture and just a ton of books and glassware that had to be moved from a basement into a basement.     I had the privilege of working with a top notch moving team from Bold Moving and Storage Company. We moved from the Atlanta area to Palm Coast, FL. The “A” Team was led by Ian, and included Ibi and Davonta. All three got right to work in Atlanta, loading our furniture, and did not stop until the last piece of furniture was unloaded two days later. (Yes it was a big move!)     Recently hired Bold Moving & Storage for a move from NYC to VA. The team was very helpful in providing flexibility with our move scheduling and ensuring that our final quote was the price we would end up paying. Despite having a slightly higher quote than some of the other providers we contacted, Bold was a great choice for us since we did not have to worry about the quote changing, as we had read can be common with other providers.     My husband and I have had a great experience with Bold. From the first phone call consultation with Josh, to the crew who came to pack us up and then the final two men who delivered our belongings, we were given 5 star service.     I recently accepted a job in Texas and had to relocate from NJ. My company had given me a name of a mover they used, but I wanted to compare as I had no idea what this would cost. I googled consumer affairs and Bold Moving and Storage came up and immediately reached out. Spoke to Bill the owner, who was very pleasant explained the process in detail and gave me a quote much cheaper than the first company. He was very accurate! I agreed and booked them for the move. Moving day came and I must say, I have never seen such a professional, well mannered, pleasant crew. They arrived promptly at scheduled time.

    Ian was the lead of the Operations and he did not play. He gave the orders and made sure everything was accurately done. This team worked so hard from the minute they walked in until they left.     I hired these guys based on good reviews, and I really wanted to like them, but....unfortunately I have mostly negative things to say. The positive first: 1. Arrived basically as planned at both origin and destination. 2. Packers and unpackers were courteous enough. The negative:

    1. COMMUNICATION. This is the main issue that prompted me to write this review. Despite all of the negative below, I would have been reasonably satisfied if they had consistently communicated throughout the entire process.

    2. Damages to personal property and premises. As noted by another recent review, many items were damaged. This included major dents in the walls at both origin and destination.

    3. False assurances. One of the unpackers took pictures of all the damaged items and assured us he would file an insurance claim on our behalf. After much back and forth with the insurance company, it's clear that this was not done. I filed the claim, which entailed an unreasonable amount of work (see below).

    4. Careless driving? I'm not sure how, but somehow these guys managed to run over two security cameras owned by the building where we were renting our apartment. Rather than own up to it, they threw them in the bushes. When confronted by a building manager, they admitted to the damage and assured him they would pay the $3600 bill. However, they have not done so. See #7 below.

    5. This is minor but -- if you want to plan your travel, please note that these guys won't give you a particular day for pick up or delivery. It's always a two-day window until the day before. (To be fair, in our case they ended up showing up on the specific day we preferred at both ends.)

    6. The claims process. Given all of the damaged items, we elected to attempt to file our own claim with the "insurance company". Although the movers repeatedly referred to this as an insurance process (and even bragged about how good it was), the website for this company says they are not an insurance company and they merely make recommendations to the movers. Furthermore, they make the process incredibly tedious, presumably hoping that nobody will actually file.

    7. UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL. I waited 6 months to post this review hoping that the owner would respond to my repeated communication and pay the bill he said he would pay. However, the $3600 bill for the damages detailed in #4 above is outstanding and he has been ignoring me. Beware of this company. Do not hire.

    We have never not communicated with you, but if you have not reached out to us in six months, how are we supposed to know you still have an issue?

    For the damaged household good items, we sent you the documentation to file a claim, this process is specific to the rules set forth by the dot. We have to follow the rules for that, and it really is not that tedious, you file it online, submit some photos and can be as easy as you make it.

    We are deeply sorry you feel that way about our company, however we provided insurance information on the vehicles for the damage to your building, and it was and is up to them to file a claim with them. The driver submitted his information to the building, and also to you, and we notified the building of the damage.

    I have called you multiple times with no answer , and no response, to further assist you with this process.

    We take pride in our work, we do a good job, and unfortunately some things happen, we are not perfect and do not claim to be, but one thing that we are, is accountable and professional.

    A couple months ago I moved from Washington DC to the Kansas City area. I found the whole process to be excellent, from getting a quote to scheduling a date, to the actual move. Communication was always very clear and responses were prompt. There was one hiccup in moving in where an existing light fixture in the new home was cracked.     Hired Bold Moving and Storage to transport our belongings from California to Texas. Joshua ** was our contact person. He said all the right things in the beginning and I felt comfortable hiring them. Once the time got closer to the actual move he disappeared. My furniture arrived with not much damage but I was told by Joshua that he would be "with me all the way" and that I did not need to worry and to call him any time. He did not return phone calls and did not return any emails once the furniture was picked up. So what could have turned out being a good experience did not. Bold Moving and Storage may be a good company but my experience would lead me to not recommend them.

    I need to update my review. Bold Moving & Storage reached out today to express their displeasure with my moving experience and offered to replace the damaged items I was concerned with. Josh and Bill, the two owners of the company took time out of their day to listen to my experience and see how they could help and improve the experience for their other customers. Although moving across the country can be scary, and often times things go wrong, having two owners care about your individual case is a huge benefit of using Bold Moving and Storage.

    When my fiancé and I found out that we were moving across the country, we immediately began researching moving companies and ultimately chose Bold Moving & Storage after reading all of the positive reviews. We were contacted by Josh who was initially professional and helpful. However, that quickly changed when issues started to arise such as holes in the walls (done by his employees), broken furniture, and missing paperwork.

    We have called multiple times and no one will call us back. All of the furniture items that were packed by the Bold Moving & Storage employees arrived broken and/or damaged. The furniture/items that we packed by us were not broken or damaged, but the boxes and containers that we used were crushed and will not be able to be used in the future. Bold Moving & Storage offers furniture disassembly, however, they simply broke our bed frame into so many pieces that it cannot be put back together. Additionally, they offer mattress covers and lamp boxes for an extra fee (which we paid).

    When the mattresses and lamps arrived, the mattress covers had been ripped in multiple places which resulted in the mattresses being filthy and the lamp boxes had been crushed which resulted in the lamp shades being unusable. Finally, the employees did not provide us with a receipt of service, so we cannot move forward with making a claim for our broken furniture.

    As noted above, we have called countless times to receive this receipt. Our calls are either ignored or we are told it will be e-mailed to us, and it never arrives. Please DO NOT be fooled by the positive reviews left previously. One was even written by the owner of the company (Josh), so we are not sure if the reviews are even real. We do not want anyone else to experience what we have gone through. Moving across the country is hard enough; no one deserves these extra headaches.

    I have had a few issues with this company. I will not go into detail until they have an opportunity to fully respond. Unfortunately, texts and phone calls seem to not be answered, or just ignored. I initially contacted Kevin and explained the problems I'd experienced. He asked me to send him and email with pictures, which I did. I received an email from him directing me to a Claims Website. I've tried contacting Kevin by text and phone call looking for additional information. No response.

    I then received a phone call from Raul offering his help and apologizing for the damages that had occurred. He stated he would send a Claim Form to me directly. I never received the Claim Form. I then sent a text to Kevin and Raul. No response from either of them. Later the same day I received a phone call from Kathy. During this phone call Raul told Kathy that since I had not received the Claim Form, he was emailing it to me again. During this phone call with Kathy she told me she would now be my contact regarding the claim. I received a text after the phone call with Kathy that one (1) issue was being handled. Today, having not received the email with the Claim Form, I tried calling Kathy and now Kathy won't answer my calls. I'm left wondering what my next step should be.

    This moving company is HORRIBLE! I will detail everything below, but in summary, they lie, they break things, they don’t listen, they only move half your stuff, they don’t admit fault, they leave your doors and windows unlocked, they don’t communicate with you, they are a horrible moving company. I am attaching photos of the stuff they left at the first house and the stuff they broke at the second house.

    First of all, throughout this process, everyone kept saying they were overly gentle and meticulous and that they almost “cared TOO much” and handled everything with kid gloves. They said I wouldn’t need to get insurance and that everything would be fine. Gave Bill a list of all the things in my house. He said it was an estimate of how much stuff I had and would be adjusted as needed when they came to pick everything up. He was estimating. I assumed it was so they knew which size truck to bring, how many guys to bring, etc. He also said the cost was by weight, so one third down payment was just a rough estimate. He sent me an e-document to sign, which I did. He never emailed me a copy of the inventory list.

    Wednesday June 19th I called to see when they’d be coming on Friday. They said 8 or 9 am. Thursday night June 20th they called to say it would be more like 11:30 since their truck broke down and they had to rent a truck in the morning. Emailed me the inventory when I said I hadn’t gotten it before. They showed up at 3:30. TK(?) the foreman, another guy, and another guy for whom it was his first day on the job. I showed the foreman (TK?) exactly what was to be moved (ie everything that wasn’t labeled “stay”). Movers often forget to check back porches, so I specifically showed him the back porch. He said “Okay, I’ll load that on the truck last”. (None of it ever got loaded).

    TK took 30 minutes to go through the paperwork. He had to borrow a pen. It was apparently his second time doing the paperwork part and he obviously didn’t know what he was doing. He was already giving off a careless vibe. He had me sign and initial things. Then he had me pay, I paid by check, then he took a picture of the front and back. I asked if they’d be able to unload the same day. He said if they did it would be really late. I said I was going to leave to go unlock the house in Richmond for them. They said people didn’t usually leave. I told them I needed to prep stuff.

    I didn’t realize I wasn’t actually supposed to leave because they would do a walk-through at the end. No one told me about a walk through. So he had me sign some extra inventory sheets in advance (when I was signing and putting the time and date, he said it was 3:45, but it was definitely closer to 4:15 when I checked a minute later). I was under the impression that it was up to me whether I stuck around or if I trusted them not to steal crap. Again, didn’t know about the walk-through. Also during this process I asked him about the weight thing and he said they don’t do it that way, that instead I pay by cubic foot.

    I went up to Richmond and spent the night. They said they’d be there by 8am to unload. When I didn’t hear anything by 9am I called. My parents in the meantime, went to the house in Raleigh to clean it and found that a LOT of stuff had been left behind, including every single thing in the carport that I’d specifically pointed out. They had also left the door unlock and the windows open. I had SPECIFICALLY said to lock up when they left.

    So my parents sent me photos. I called Bill and he eventually called me back. I told him the problem and he was kind of like “well, they loaded everything that was listed on the inventory” (which wasn’t true in the first place). Even if that were true, the foreman should have called to tell me they were leaving things behind. Then I texted him pictures and he was like “Yeah, there isn’t really an excuse for that.” Also, the mailbox had been knocked off its post. I presume it was the truck pulling out of the driveway.

    They said “they got a late start and one of the guys had a death in the family” and that it would be somewhere between 10 and 1 but probably around 11:30. They showed up at 12:30. It was just two guys, the warehouse manager (foreman) and one of the guys from yesterday (who apparently had the death in his family, and wasn’t supposed to come to work, but they needed him to come).

    The guy from the day before, as soon as he walked in the door, apologized profusely for leaving things behind and for being so careless. He said he wanted to stay and finish the job but that he had to do what the foreman said. He was like, “Yeah, TK dropped your bookshelf and the bottom broke and he broke a light bulb (because they didn’t remove them or wrap them whatsoever. My parents had to clean up the glass shards at the house).

    Both of these guys said TK kind of sucked and that all the good guys were sent on “big moves”, ie rich people who were paying the lots of money to go to CA and MA and IL and FL. Then they stood around for 45 minutes while we waited for authorization from some guy on the phone for my payment. These guys had to borrow a pen also. And later a sharpie. How do they not have this stuff with them?? They were looking up my credit card on file or something.

    Finally the foreman called the guy back, who couldn’t do it or something. Then Bill called me to say that some guy was driving up from Florida and could get the rest of my stuff on the way. He said it would be Sunday or at least by the end of the week. He wasn’t sure. He asked if they started moving stuff and I said yes, that they had JUST started (at 2:30) because we were still waiting for them to authorize the credit card payment. Bill said he didn’t have my pick-up payment on file. When I told him I paid with a check he was like “Well, I haven’t seen it, do you have a record of that?" (Later he said he found it, it was in the safe. How do you not check the safe??) Bill said “Tell the guys to go ahead, I’ll take care of the credit card”. These guys had to borrow a pen also. And later a sharpie. How do they not have this stuff with them?? I signed the documents.

    The guys worked for a few hours (slowly) and then took a long lunch break. They stayed until 9:30 pm. They were overheated and hadn’t brought enough water. They completely sucked at unpacking. The foreman doesn’t usually do the moving and it showed. And he complained that they didn’t have enough people because it was the busy season. (Then don’t accept jobs you can’t do!) I took pictures of some of their poor unpacking. Boxes were crushed (which may have occurred when the other crew packed the truck the day before), they kept stacking things precariously that they were about to tip over. They just put stuff haphazard all over the house. Boxes were everywhere, not piled together or stacked well. Nowhere to walk because of that.

    They didn’t move the furniture in first (like any of it!) which they should have done so that you can actually put the boxes on the shelves, or at the very least have shelves to put things on as you unpack. They assembled my bed backwards, didn’t put them on the bed raisers, and the headboard had been damaged or something, as it was all crooked. So I moved the headboard, took off the 90 lb mattress and box spring and turned the frame around. I put the frame on the raisers, put the box spring on, then wrestled the mattress back on. One of the guys just looked at me struggling and then walked the other way.

    I was using a headlamp because there were no overhead lights in that room. The guys were working in the dark because apparently neither had a flashlight. I also moved two 7-foot book cases into one room because they didn’t listen when I said all three go against the same wall. They struggled to follow simple instructions.

    When I was doing the bed raisers I found someone had taped a whole bunch of loose screws, nuts and bolts onto them. NO IDEA what that hardware goes too. And neither did the two guys. Probably it was TK or the new guy that did that. AT least half of all the pegs that support bookshelves fell off. I found 4 in the parking lot, 3 in the truck, 2 on the floor in my house, and am still missing at least 3. Actually, I still haven’t found any of the 12 that go with a different book shelf. They put bookshelves upside down (despite the bottom obviously being wood, not white paint like the top).

    Unlike Bill or the first foreman, this foreman said I wasn’t paying by weight or cubic foot but instead that it was a flat rate. When they finally left at 9:30 pm, I noticed they had forgotten their paperwork. I was about to bring it out to them when the foreman came back in to give me another shelf peg he found in the parking lot. I handed him the paperwork and he was like “Oh yeah, whew, thanks”. He started to walk out and I asked if there was a copy for me or a receipt or something (I hadn’t received any payment confirmation for either of my previous payments by check and credit card). He started to say no, then I asked him if there was a carbon copy, and he was like “Oh yeah, here, you can have these.”

    Bill called to say the guy (Ian) was actually coming up to pick up the rest of my stuff in 2-3 hours. My parents moved all the stuff into one place so they couldn’t forget things. They also stayed at the house until 6:30 or later until the guy was done. Ian told my parents he would deliver tomorrow but that it was up to the scheduling guys to decide what time. I called Bill and asked him to make my delivery as early as possible. The delivery guy called that night and said he could come at 8 am. I said great. He came around 8:30 (I think) and unloaded until 12:30. He was great. He was efficient, polite, smart, spatially aware (ie stacking boxes well, consolidating things into smaller areas instead of spreading stuff out one layer deep). I helped him so it would go faster. Frankly, he was the only person at this company that was good at their job.

    They made me pay the deposit to reserve the movers, then they made me pay before they started moving stuff into the truck and had me pay the last portion before they started unloading the truck. I wouldn’t have paid them the unload fee because it had sucked so bad, but I figured they’d hold the rest of my stuff that had been left behind hostage until I paid, and I start my job in 2 days and need my stuff. Me (and my parents) had to stay most/all of three days to supervise a job that should have been done in a day without supervision.

    As far as the left over items; you left our crew alone in your house, so they did not have an opportunity to do a final walk thru with you. This is super important so that we do not leave any items behind.

    Once you let us know that there were items left over, we immediately sent another crew to your items the same day you let us know about it, and picked up the remaining items and delivered the very next day. That is a fact.

    As far as the one item that was a little damaged, we offered to send a professional woodworker and contractor over to your home to fix the item; which you declined, and we also sent you all of the paperwork to file a claim.

    We are including text messages which state your overall satisfaction with us rectifying the issue, where you say excellent and awesome and seem to be happy with the service.

    We have no issue being accountable to your issues, but if we are not given an opportunity to rectify them, how can we?

    This is an unbiased review of my experience with BMS (Bold Moving and Storage). To me my move seemed complicated, but after getting bombarded from movers with offers I went with BMS. The people I talked to were professional and flexible. I had your normal household items to move, but several high-value items like a motorcycle and four 4K TVs. The movers showed up on time on the date schedule and came ready to work. The on the ground movers took extra care with all my items. They worked hard and were highly professional. Everything with my move was explained up front and simple.

    I was moving out of state and they had my house hold items down to my new home fast. Upon arriving to my new home the movers got to work quickly. They hustled but also handled all my items with care. And I am happy to say that nothing moved arrived damaged. My motorcycle was handled with extreme caution and all my electronic worked perfectly plus and all my furniture was in perfect condition. And lastly this companies ethic are so high that my original estimate was more than quoted and they refunded me back money already paid. They worked with us and modified their insurance to meet our building’s excessive requirements in New York, communicated during the entire trip from NY to CA then stayed late to finish the job in CA after a fire evacuation delayed the move for a few hours.     The entire experience with Bold Moving was incredible. They showed up on time and actually worked overnight at their facility to get my furniture on the truck leaving for Florida. My furniture arrived before I did, and that worked out perfectly for me since I had family here to receive it. In the whole move only one small cabinet was damaged and the foreman unloading the truck immediately took a picture to use as training material. They offered to allow me to make a claim but frankly the piece was not worth filling on. I have no hesitation at all in recommending this company. Hopefully this is my last move, but if I ever do it again it would be with this company.

    My wife and I relocated from Virginia to Michigan and the move couldn't have gone better. From start to finish the move was by far the best cross country move I've experienced thanks to these wonderful people. I have moved 20+ times and have always had something go wrong but that was not the case here. From the beginning in Richmond, I had multiple communication calls and updates. There were 5 guys that came to load our home. I asked for extra special care due to numerous antiques and family heirlooms that I simply could not transport myself. All of the guys did a complete walkthrough before any work was done which assured me that they were all on the same page.

    On the receiving end, all the household items were packed tightly and strategically so well that nothing moved which is un heard of. Now, I'd like to give a shout out to Sherrod and Ryan because those two lifted and completed what I would call "A royal pain in the butt" move given that I have some extremely heavy items. All in all, do not call around and get different quotes. These guys are a little more expensive but 100% worth it!!! My quoted price never changed. And always remember folks, take care of the people moving you. Treat them to lunch and tip if they've satisfied you because in the end your entire home is packed up into one truck and will get there like nothing ever happened. I will hire again no questions asked. I hope this helps if you're on the fence on who to use.

    Right from the start, I knew I selected the right company for the move. Joshua was very personable, polite and had great attention to detail. The company met our needs and delivery date was flexible which made it less stressful with all that was happening in our lives. We were pleased with the moving crew, Spencer, Alex and "Pop".     We were relocating from Virginia Beach to Florida and shopping for a moving company. My Wife wanted one of the well know large companies and was reluctant to use such a small and little known company. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Bold Moving and Storage showed up on time and did the best wrapping and packing job I'd seen in my 30 years of moving in the military. The owners were onsite, professional and effective.     Bold Moving and Storage was a great choice for us. The deciding factor to use Bold was the fact that one of the owners came 2.5 hours away to look at our house contents and price our job.     My experience with Bold Moving and Storage was such a positive one that I feel compelled to tell others about it. From beginning to end they made my wife and I feel extremely comfortable. Moving can be a very stressful situation in itself, but the people that are Bold Moving and Storage minimized our concerns with their professionalism and genuine outstanding customer service abilities. The gentlemen that moved us are fantastic at what they do. Their attention to detail and method of wrapping and covering prevented any damage to our belongings which we understood might happen because of the fact it’s a long move and things happen, but didn’t and we were pleased.

    When it came time for the delivery everything went according to schedule but because of my line of work I was unable to be there. When my wife and father-in-law expressed their content with how they moved our stuff in it only reiterated what I already knew, that we made the right choice. When my wife started moving some of the bins to our storage closet they told her not to worry and that they would do that for her, and let it be know the bins were already in our apartment. The cherry on top was when they met our request to have our toddler’s bins brought in first so that she could start feeling more comfortable with the change and no doubt keep her entertained with her toys while the move was happening. I would highly recommend anyone that would want to ease their concerns about moving by using the services of Bold Storage and Moving. You will not be disappointed.

    I got a quote from quite a few moving companies, but Bo from Bold Moving and Storage kept on coming back to me and he gave me a very good quote. He sounded as if the company was very caring. It was nice to hear they were not a big company, that they were still trying to make a name for themselves. They were in Richmond and they were close. I was in Newport News, so I decided to go with them. They all scheduled the move, but I had to move it a bit earlier or a bit later and the rep was very flexible around the date because I didn’t know when we would close on the house. I appreciated that. They rescheduled the move and they called me the day before in the morning that they came. The move was from Newport News to Acworth, Georgia.

    My interactions with the crew were wonderful. Josh was in charge of the crew. They were absolutely amazing and very nice. They really listened. However, there was one guy who made a few mistakes. The stuff that he packed had a few dents and a few marks in it. But he was also very nice. It was just that he was new to the job, so he made a few mistakes. Nonetheless, they were very productive and professional, and did exactly what I required from them and really tried to do as I asked them.

    There were a few things that were upsetting, though. The one thing was that I packed everything myself and I marked every box that had fragile stuff in it very clearly. I put a can of oil that I use in my furniture to polish in one of them. It’s a mineral oil for my butcher’s blocks. I packed that very clearly and I had lines on all sides of the box saying, “Fragile, fragile, fragile,” but whoever put it down put it upside-down, so the pressure was on the oil. Unfortunately, the box that was underneath it was the box with all my photographs. Some of those photographs were of my late husband and I couldn’t replace them. They were not digital. So, I was devastated.

    The other thing that I was really concerned about was the two other pieces of furniture that shouldn’t get damaged at all got a very nasty little mark right at the top. It went right through because they didn’t put any cartons. They just wrapped a blanket around it, but there was a hole in the blanket, so it had the gouge out at the top. I was also a little upset about that because there is nowhere that you can correct it. You can’t hide it and you can’t fix it with some wood glue because it is an imported wood and it is solid wood. However, it is dark wood, so it is not the first thing that you see when you look at that piece of furniture. My sewing cabinet also got damaged. It is just cheap stuff, but it got a really nasty gouge on the top as well and there is also no way that I can fix that. But for the rest of the stuff, everything that I packed, there was not a glass or a chip or anything that got damaged at all.

    The guys who unpacked it knew about the issues. I showed it to them when they were here and I thought that they would report it. While they were unpacking, we discovered it. They saw it and the guy who was in charge here even took photographs of it. I thought they would report it, but nobody reached out to me and asked if anything was lost or damaged. There was no form for me to complete, so I just thought it was just the way the cookie crumbles. Bo said to me that there would be a follow-up. I also understood that they wouldn’t follow up within three days because they couldn’t unpack in three days. All the stuff that I unpacked afterward were fine, except those things that were unpacked from the truck.

    I don’t think there was anything that they could really do about it, but it would've been nice if he had given me a call two or three days later. They just said to me there was a form. The saddest thing is there is nothing to be done about the solid-wood furniture and it is something I have to live with. They won’t replace the Sauder cabinet because of the gouge on the top, but the thing is it sits in my bedroom and it is a big gouge, so everybody who comes into the room can immediately see it. I also have this very cheap stand that I use to do grandma washing and things on and they didn’t tape the part of that to the stand. I couldn’t put the whole thing together now because some of the little plastic things that go around it are missing. I also got a little thing that I use as a tub where I put my painting and two of its feet are missing.

    I would still recommend Bold Moving and Storage. They were so nice and so professional and they really tried to accommodate my needs. Nobody goes through a move without a little damage. What bothered me was that they didn’t follow up and it was not what I expected of them. I had around 150 boxes to unpack, so I thought that they were giving me time to go through everything and see if everything was okay, then they would reach out to me, however, up to now, there is nothing. This is the first move that I’ve done here in America. In South Africa, they send you a form usually about three weeks in. They usually send you a form to ask if there were any damages.

    From start to finish these guys were great to work with. Josh was informative and friendly on the phone, even helped me save money where he could. The moving crew showed up on time, I only called to check in once. They were all friendly and moved fast. All of my items were checked, covered, marked, and an inventory list was filled out. They made it to the destination in one day, nothing had to be stored. All my furniture arrived without anything being damaged. Overall the process went smooth and I wasn't surprised by any hidden fees.

    Bold Moving and Storage was the most persistent moving company when it comes to their communications via email and returning phone calls. Everything was on point from the beginning. I was a little hesitant because it’s an online company but I did a little research and found that they had an actual business license number in the state of Virginia. I moved from Washington, D.C. to Tampa, Florida. Their crew was very productive. When they got to the house, there was no funny business and the numbers didn’t change. They packed up the house and the move went well. We had one broken item, and we’re now in the process with them to try and get coverage for it. Other than that, the experience was very straightforward and good.

    We were moving about 200 miles. I made an internet inquiry and then I got called by several companies. It was a two-bedroom apartment and I explained the size in square feet. They gave me a price based on that explanation and they figured I had so many boxes. I wasn’t crazy about that and I wasn’t really comfortable with getting an estimate based on the fact that they said they would bring this size truck when they haven’t seen everything. So, I expressed that to Bold Moving and Storage, and during one of their moves, they were in the area and they sent somebody over to take a look. I was told I was fine, and that I was within what they thought they were gonna be dealing with. I had several estimates, and Bold Moving and Storage had the better estimate. I also had a better feeling with the phone call that I had with their rep, so I went with them.

    I had good interactions with the crew during the move. They were pretty quick and thorough. They really protected everything and wrapped everything up. There were problems though that were mainly due to the inexperience of some of the helpers. They were taping up blankets around some of our furniture and they taped the blanket to the furniture itself which took off some of the finish. We told them about it at that time and the guy who seemed to be the foreman took photos of it. He said he’d get back to us but he never did. But it wasn’t a big deal. Sometimes things happen.

    In the few moves that I’ve done, I always had somebody come over and take a look at everything and give us an estimate based on what they saw, what they were gonna have to move, and how far. So I was a little worried about when we would see the actual contract and all the fine prints because it could be $75 for anything over 100 feet. I told Bold Moving and Storage that it's a 14-story building and we have a warehouse elevator, and we lived in the apartment on the corner. I asked them if I would be responsible for the 80 feet from my apartment to the warehouse elevator, and then when you go down, there is another 100 feet to the truck. They said it was just boilerplate type of stuff in contracts, and they were not gonna hold me to that.

    I didn’t really feel comfortable because when I sign a contract, I’m signing it based on what’s written on the paper. Bold Moving and Storage, however, held to what they told me and they didn't charge me. They did a good job for the move and what they had to do. I was also impressed that the crew took things apart that I didn’t think they would be taking apart when we moved to the house. Then they took the time to make sure everything was put back together. I would definitely recommend Bold Moving and Storage.

    Bold Moving and Storage was the first one that answered my call and they were reasonable. When I called other people, they were over the top. So I went with Bold Moving and Storage. However, the quote changed once the product was already picked up and on its way down here. We never knew what state it was being kept in but when push came to shove, it didn't matter as long as it got here when we needed it. Most of the people who did the moving for my daughter were very polite. The gentleman who owns the company got a little terse with me and then when he backed off, he became much easier to deal with. We thought that we have paid the full amount but when the guys got down here, there was this extra money. My husband travels, and so, they were dealing with him in one state, me in another one, and my daughter in another state, so it wasn't very easy.

    There was a time period that kept changing and we had to give them 14 days of notice. The guys were in the process of getting down here and then finding the place to have our stuff moved to. They also came early to my daughter's place up in Virginia and she ended up having to take off work because there was nothing she could do. Other than that, there were only a couple of things that got broken and there wasn't a huge amount of complaining on my daughter's part. However, they are dealing with people in one of the most stressful times in their life and Bold Moving’s customer service and their attitude might take them miles from where they're at right now as far as dealing with people. The upper echelon need to get their stuff together.

    We do apologize if you feel like we were tense at all, but the specific conversation that was had was that the entire balance was paid, which it had not been. We pulled the credit card records, the transaction history and pointed it out, once you checked your statements you agreed that the balance was not paid in full, which you made the payment in full.

    As far as the quote and changing prices, the price did not increase whatsoever from the original quote to the bill of lading. It remained the same.

    We did store your daughters belongings for the period of time as requested, and we simply asked that when it came time for a move in day, give us as much of a window as possible. The specific day for move in, we arrived, which technically we could have been there any day from that day or ten days later, but we did arrive on the requested day. For the pickup day, we had two days and we came on the first date that was confirmed as this was a full pack and we like to do those with a two day window, a primary and a backup. We arrived on the first day of your window, I apologize if it was not communicated to us that you wanted the second day to be your primary and not the first.

    We do apologize for the one box that had broken dishes in it, and I wish it was us that packed those so it could have been done right. However that was one box that you guys packed yourselves..

    We want to thank you and your family for moving with us, and yes it is stressful, but we hope that by choosing bold, we made it a lot less stressful for you.
