Accessibility Professionals products

Accessibility Professionals sells lift systems, showers and bath accessories designed to make homes and businesses more accessible for those with disabilities or mobility concerns. These systems are manufactured and sold under Accessibility Professionals’ Freedom product line.

The company’s walk-in tubs come in a variety of styles, including models with lower, wider entry points and deeper tubs with higher walls for soaking. Some models come with jets and removable showerheads, and you can add on extra safety grab bars if you need them.

Its showers feature ADA-compliant seats and benches, easy step-ins lower than a half-inch tall, a good selection of grab bar options and reachable showerheads. In addition to full showers, the company sells shower pans and prefabricated shower bases that minimize or remove step-in thresholds.

The company’s lift systems include everything from wheelchair lifts to commercial platform lifts, bath lifts and kitchen lifts for sinks, cabinets and cooktops. These options are available for commercial or residential use.

Accessibility Professionals works with local contractors and plumbers for installation, rather than handling the work directly.

Accessibility Professionals costs

The cost of a Freedom system from Accessibility Professionals varies by product and configuration. Here are a few current price ranges to give you a better idea:

  • Bathroom grab bars cost between $209 and $526.

Customers can request a 30-day, no-obligation quote that includes shipping costs and fees, along with an outline of optional accessories, so that there are no surprises at purchase. Accessibility Professionals also says it offers the lowest price on all its products.

Financial assistance

Incentives may exist to help you cover the costs of modifications and equipment. For example, in the United States, medical home modifications may qualify as deductible capital expenses under IRS guidelines if prescribed for medical care. Eligible Canadians investing in home renovations to support independence can likewise leverage up to $3,000 in tax credits under Canada’s federal Home Accessibility Tax Credit (HATC).

Still have questions?

Do we recommend Accessibility Professionals?

Yes, Accessibility Professionals sells a variety of accessibility products, including walk-in tubs, walk-in showers and lift systems, and we like that the company is transparent about its pricing and options. The products come in a range of price points to fit a variety of budgets, and the company also sells simple solutions, like shower pans, if you aren't looking to completely rework your bathroom.

It doesn’t install its systems on its own, though — local dealers handle installation. That means buyers who want a more hands-on, end-to-end service may need to coordinate with outside installers.

I did not purchase the Freedom Shower but was assisting in the installation. The material is a good quality, but the allowed tolerance on size is ridiculous. The pan was a half an inch too small in length and the back panel cracked the back corner trying to install it. We were told the shower pan was 37", but in reality that is to the outside of the wall flange, the pan is only 35" in width. When we called we were told this is normal. I will never recommend this company to anyone, well maybe someone I didn't like...
