I brought my two sons an xbox 360 in 07'. Now the xbox system will not play any games that I have brought for the system. I don't have a problem with the red light device. I don't think it's fair for us to buy a system that just stops working and they won't fix the game for something they put out that is not working like it should. They need to put a 3 year warranty on system that costs $400.00 or more. Then when you call them about the problem they want you to pay them $99.00 plus tax and this is not right when we have already paid $400.00 or more for this system. Thank You very much.

I bought an xbox 360 and it lasted 10 months. I bought 2 more and had to take them back to store. Now my grandson has about $1000 dollars worth of xbox games and nothing to play them on! Microsoft should have to give peoples money back for systems and games. I won't buy anymore until they correct the problems.

I purchased my Xbox 360 in December of 06'. In November of 07, my xbox started working improperly. The main problem with this device was the disk reader would not read any disk, brand new or used, making game play impossible, and making my console inoperable. Microsoft has had major hardware problems with this device and to it's credit has increased the waranty from one to three years in the event that the console has three blinking red lights. My device does not have this problem, but is nevertheless broken. This device broke after 13 months of use. I paid $400 for this device and it is inoperable after 13 months of use. The extended 3 year waranty should apply to this device as well.

I am out a $400 machine. Microsoft has refused to fix my device free of charge, as it should.

My Xbox stopped working after only a few months of play. I sent it in for repairs in the fall of 2007 and just received it in Jan. of 2008. It worked for a couple of hours and then experienced the same problem. It has three flashing lights like before, and Microsoft wants me to send it in again. I want a new console that works or my money back so I can buy a Playstation 3. The Xbox was a waste of money.

I had my Xbox for about 7 months, and something broke in it--not from foul play. I turned it on, put in a game, and heard a pop. I have yet to get it fixed because it costs too much.

I paid $400 for this thing barely 1/2 year ago. The idea that it would last so short a period of time is preposterous. The $129 repair cost from Microsoft is ridiculous considering the problem is in all likelihood a rubber band or something that broke.

I cannot get Microsoft to replace my xbox 360 with a new one, they keep sending me old ones that have been repaired before. I have purchased 2 different consoles and sent them in for repair numerous times. The call center claims they can do nothing about it and they have even laughed at me on the phone. This has been going on from 2006 to present. They only said they could offer a free game, and also said I am the only one they know of having these problems.

My husband is active duty Marine Corps and plays the xbox to relax on his down time. I got it for him as gift when he returned from Iraq and he cannot play it because it is always broken or being repaired. We have also bought 2 at $399.99 each.

My son went on to Xbox live for the first time and created an account. The Xbox 360 had download updates to the console, and then rebooted. The Xbox 360 now will not play any disc (games, music, and movie). I called customer service, and they said they would repair it for $99.00 and re-new the warranty because it had expired two weeks ago. They said it was just a bad luck that it happened after the download from its site and that it quit working. They would not take a cashiers check for the repair and told me that I had to use a credit card only.

First, I don't think that I should have to pay for a repair that was caused by the downloaned update that was caused by their online site, when everything worked until the download was done. Second, after researching this problem, I am not the only person who has had this problem and has had the same responce from Microsoft. Doesn't the comsumer have any rights--like a lemon law--for this product, or a class action law suit for scam like this? Thanks for listening.

I am out $500.00 for the hardware and about $500.00 in games, software and music. Also I have lost trust in this company to sell quality products.

One week before Christmas the three red lights flashed on our Xbox 360 console. We spent 3 days fighting our case with the support specialists, to no avail. We were finally referred to their escalation department who returned our call at 9:30 pm on Christmas Eve. During this call, he promised to send us a wireless controller for our problems. We received our repaired console on January 21st with no wireless controller. After 45 minutes on hold with the service specialists, we were told that the promise of a wireless controller was never documented; and therefore, they will not be sending one.

EXTREME FRUSTRATION. Microsoft does not stand behind it's product. My son was not able to enjoy many of his Christmas presents because they were all Xbox related.

They quickly sent me back a refurbished system to replace my old one. I played the new one for maybe 3 hours and then the fixed system they sent also failed. Now I have to send back this system and my power cord as well and they aren't willing to give me anything, except an attitude, for all the trouble and frustration they've caused me.

The AV cable on my XBox 360 broke. The black casing around the pins snapped off. I have contacted Microsoft and was told I needed to make two repair claims. One claim being for the console and another for the AV cable. Both repairs would be done seperately which is ridiculous because without one, you cannot use the other resulting in a total loss of using the product. The first repair for the console is under warranty. The second repair for the AV cable is not under warranty so I would need to purchase another one. The AV cable has only been removed from the console maybe 6 times. This should not happen after six times. The woman I spoke with looked online and told me Target sells the cable for $19.99. After spending hundreds of dollars on the console, extra controllers, battery chargers, and games, I do not feel I should have to spend $20.00 on a defective item. Obviously, it is only $20.00. I am not a penny pincher or I would not have spent so much money on this item and all of the accessories. It is the principle of the fact that I should not have to spend more money for a faulty component. Also, I just received my XBox 360 after sending it in for another repair which has been labeled the Red Circle of Death. After using the console, suddenly the red ring started appearing where the green ring was and the console just stopped working.

The result from the above has left my family disappointed because we have not been able to use the console because of the first repair made and now the XBox 360 sits broken again. We have spent our time on the phone with Microsoft repair. Now, they are requesting I spend more money to fix a faulty part on the console/AV cable.

This is an absolutely outrage, and now that I know I'm not the only one, a class action lawsuit or something needs to be done. A company should not be allowed to get away with this. They sell faulty hardware and then make you wait and waste hours of your life waiting for it to be fixed. Microsoft has royally screwed up not only their systems, but their service, and especially the HD-DVD.

My son has an Xbox 360 we purchased about a year ago which has been sent for repair twice. The second time MS said they returned him a 'refurbished' system. On Christmas day the system broke again. I believe this time it said 'disk error' no matter what disk was placed in the system.

On 12/26 my son called the 1-800-4MYXBOX repair number, completed his repair report, got a tracking number, and asked for a supervisor. The young lady said she would place him on hold for 'a minute or two' and a supervisor would pick up the call. An hour and a half later, my son was STILL on hold!

Yesterday our XBox 360 stopped reading any disc that is put into the system. We have tried all of our games to no avail; I have done a little research on line and saw that there are many more people who have experienced this type of failure. Although we didn't get the dreaded 3 rings, it still does not work! This is a very expensive system and is ridiculous that it all of the sudden stops working exactly 1 year and 2 weeks after purchase.

We contacted Microsoft, and the answer was, yes this seems to be a hardware system failure, and they didn't seem surprised at the description of what was going on with our system, but they wanted $99.00 right then and there, before I even sent it in to them to even open a service account! This is a VERY expensive system, and it should last longer than a year! If I knew then what I know now, I would have bought the PS3. We own every system, including the original NES, and I have never had a problem with Nintendo or Sony! After this horrible service with Microsoft, I will never buy their products again! I bought my children a 360 for Christmas; before a week was up it scratched 3 discs so much that it couldn't read them anymore. I called Microsoft to report the problem, and they acted surprised and said that it would need to be repaired and would take 4-6 weeks. I took it back to the store to exchange, and there aren't any. The Best Buy in Gulfport, MS, said they had a bad batch and had over 30 units brought back in a day with the same problem.

Since then I have done research on these units, and I now know that it is a well-known problem. How can they continue selling these units knowing that not only is it not going to work properly, but it is going to damage all the discs beyond compare. I am returning the x-box for a cash refund and am planning to buy a different type of gaming console, but now I am going to lose all the money invested in the x-box scratched games. I bought an Xbox 360 in Oct. 07 which lasted 6 weeks before it died. Still under warranty, I got a new one that lasted 2 weeks! So back I go to get my 3rd. That lasted 10 days! Now no stores in Sydney (12 Of them) have ANY 360's for my replacement (all are out for repair!), so now I have a broken Xbox which is useless. Is it really worth $529? This is disgusting that consumers don't have any rights against this. I basically have to wait further notice (2 weeks so far) before I can get a replacement (or send it off and PAY for it to be fixed)--and then it will no doubt only last a week! What can we do about this? We are left with consoles not standing up to expectations and then told--sorry thats the way it is, there is nothing you can do except buy a play station 3 or keep replacing the 360 until warranty runs out, then buy another one!

Microsoft should replace the continuing decaying Xbox360's with elite 360's and free games for our consistent inconvenience, for a product that is supposed to have a life of 5+ years and is only lasting 5+ WEEKS! Please let me know what legal action can be taken.

My XBox 360 crashed with the 3 red lights. My husband called and set up to have the unit shipped for repair. We have already been charged $99--yet the unit is still in my house, waiting for the shipping box. I never wanted him to buy the 360, because we had purchased the XBox, and it broke several times; I didn't want another MicroSoft gaming product.

So, while waiting more than a week now for the shipping materials to arrive, I have read endless reports from thousands of consumers of how they ship in their faulty product, go without the unit for several weeks, finally get a replacement unit--only to have the replacement break, too. According to this site, several consumers are on their 4th or 5th return. I decided it was a waste of money to have it repaired, and I don't want to spend another dime on this useless product. I called customer service to cancel the service--which has not yet been performed.

Customer service put me on hold, then came back, apologized, and informed me that I cannot have my $99 refunded. The service has not even happened: the box to be used for shipping has not even arrived, and they are telling me I can't back out of entering the cycle of paying for repairs and getting faulty products back. I explained that I had done research and realized the repair was an additional waste of money, but they will not cancel the repair request and refund my money. Unbelievable! The customer service rep who relayed this information sounded embarrassed and regretful but could do nothing for me. Having spent the $99 already, I guess I will have the unit shipped in and will have to pray what they send back works properly. MicroSoft shouldn't be allowed to treat customers so poorly--yet they've been getting away with this since they launched the original XBox years ago.

Since November 7th they have lost the XBox in the service center and are now saying we have to pay to have it repaired unless we can furnish the original receipt. They have told us, though, that the XBox is registered in their database when we purchased it and sent in the warranty card. Why the need for the receipt? Repair cost? $140. Their web site says the Ring of Death is a free repair.

Their customer service desks are the most unfriendly help desks I've ever experienced in my life, and I've been in the computer business for 11 years. I had contacted the X-Box Company because our X-Box 360 had quit working while my husband was playing the X-Box. Well, we had rented a game from Blockbuster, called Juiced 2 Hot Import Nights. When I contacted them, I told the X-Box Company what had happened, I also told them about the rented game that was still inside the X-Box. They said they would fix it free of charge and send me a prepaid box to send it in. When I got the box, the game was still inside the X-Box. I sent the X-Box off in the box. Two weeks later I received the X-Box without the game inside it. I contacted the X-Box Company again and then they told me that there was a manual release on the X-Box. In the beginning they failed to tell me about the manual release. Now they are telling me that there wasn't any game inside the X-Box when they received it. Now they won't send me the game back and I now I owe Blockbuster $70.00 because of the game that was still inside of the X-Box. So in the end all, I really want is the game back.

They are saying that there wasn't a game inside the X-box and they are refusing to send me the game back.

After spending $800 in gaming supplies with XBOX I wanted to enter the code to go online. Well part of the code scratched off. I took it back to the local store, he said he seen it happen before, but there was nothing he could do, that microsoft does not take the card back. And he is not going to lose the $50 card cost me. After almost 4 hours on the phone with Xbox live, the manager tells me that it is the store's problem. I go further up the food chain and email the exec at microsoft in charge of the xbox brand, I get an email back telling me that they will not correct the problem and to deal with the store. Well in the store's defense the card is made by Microsoft. So now I want the card corrected, and I more than expect compensation for my time spent to fix Microsoft's problem. No customer should spend over 4 hours on the phone and another 2hours in emails and typing letters.

I'm spent $50 of my money, 4.5 hours on the phone, 2 hours on letters and emails, 60 mile round trip to the retail store.

I thought he was joking until I called Microsoft (that is what Home Depot told me to do) and they told me that it would be cheaper just to by a new system. I did not get the extended warranty because my sons opened the package before I got home and I never saw the paperwork, but from what I have heard about this system the extended year warranty would have done me no good anyway, since Microsoft is just shipping out refurbished systems that are no better than the original.

Now I am stuck with a $500.00 piece of junk that I am still paying for on my Home Depot account. I think it is ridiculous that a company as big as microsoft is getting away with not fixing these problems. They are basically selling defective equipment and not being held accountable. That xbox was then stolen in June 2007. When we received a second xbox from our insurance company, I used it two times before the disk drive broke. It is now being sent back to the company as luckily it is under warranty.

It sure would have been nice to have an xbox to play with during the recovery, but I doubt I'll get a refurbished one back in time to play it - and ultimately when I do go to play it, I'm sure this one will break as well. With all of the problems - the rings of death, the scratched disks, the broken hard drives, the faulty power cords, the error messages and system failures why haven't these machines been recalled and Microsoft held accountable? This is just ridiculous and any other company would have better repair service - i.e. sending you a new console. I contacted Microsoft, and they were supposed to overnight a box to me in order to return it for repairs. It has been 3 days and still no box! I have spoken with 3 different supervisors and been told 3 different stories. The bottom line is I purchased a defective piece of merchandise (which Microsoft has acknowledged), and they replaced it with a refurbished defective piece of merchandise. Now it will be another month or so to replace. Christmas is ruined for my family, I have wasted a bunch of money and this corporation continues to make millions off of consumers.

I attempted to contact their corporate office to no avail. They have my money and no longer care about my family or my complaints. From speaking with the last supervisor, my XBOX 360 will again be replaced (when they get around to it) with another defective, refurbished XBOX 360, AND my warranty is getting ready to run out and can't be renewed. In my opinion, Microsoft Corporation should send me a NEW XBOX 360 and should have done that in time for Christmas. It is very interesting that they have no numbers available on their website to voice complaints about their company. I guess when you have their kind of money, they feel like they don't have to answer to anyone.

Financially I refuse to purchase another new XBOX 360 for next week, and it is not right--they almost want you to do that so that your children's holiday isn't ruined. I spent $500 for the system (bundle) and twice that for the games we have, but most importantly the stress they cause everyone is immeasurable. I purchased an new xbox 360 on 03/24/07 and got three red lights meaning hardware failure on 10/19/07. I have been in contact with Microsofts Xbox Customer Service since 10/23/07 with no complaint resolution to date. I have been asking for a refund for the console due to faulty, defective and unreliable performance. I do not want a refurbished or different console, as I feel the burden of owning the system (constant future returns) far outweighs its entertainment value. I did not make this purchase with the implied consent of constant warranty service. Since I have never had the experience of such an expensive purchase utterly fail on me with no customer service, support or concern; I feel no other avenue available to retain my investment. I have spoken with more than 8 different reps, received 3 different non-related progress hindering reference numbers and have never had my complaint addressed. Microsoft refuses my requests for email correspondence, hard copy proof of progress and or written documentation. I was most recently told my repair order had been cancelled and was being escallated to higher-ups, but then was called with my third reference number and a UPS tracking number for my console return. I am expecting delivery of my console on 11/29/07 but do not want it. I can not in all good conscience re-sell this product knowing its inherit defects. I've invested around $900+ in this system and will basically be taking a loss on Microsofts behalf. DO NOT buy an XBOX 360.

My xbox360 was bought 12/30/06; it is now 11/25/07 (it's still under warranty). I came home to the circle of death - 4 blinking red lights. I immediately called MS to get a replacement. I was told that it was 3 weeks out of warranty because I bought it 11/3/06. I told them that this is not true because I purchased on 12/30/06. After explaining the events and asking them to cover the warranty (even with their numbers it's only 20 days over), they refused. Two separate supervisors refused.

Even if I have the company generate a receipt for $30, Microsoft refuses to compensate me the $30 even though their records are wrong. Even worse, the supervisor said: if you don't have the money I'm sure you can get it in a week or so and then you'll be able to have it fixed. I told him that I couldn't believe he just said that and I'd like to know who he reports to so I could file a complaint. He said he has no boss, and when I replied so the CEO of MS answers to you? He laughed and said yes....

Even though I'm still under warranty MS refuses to show any customer care by forcing me to pay to PROVE that I'm right... 20 days over warranty and MS won't even stand by their product with huge failure rates.

I spent 500+ on the package plus a few $60 games and an extra wireless controller, and a year of X-box Live. In all my dealings with Microsoft since this headache began, I got the serious impression that they couldn't really care about my woes. The online gaming community calls it the red rings of death. I have sent the console back to Microsoft five times. They send me a different console each time (with a different serial number) which I suspect is just a refurbished console, not a new one. Not that it matters much, the new ones seem to be crashing anyway. What's irritating is having purchased Halo3 and having no console to play it. I will never purchase Microsoft junk again.

Microsoft sends a box to mail the console to them for repairs and sends it back to us at their expense, so there is no economic damage other than the price I paid for the original console ($500.00).

I purchased an Xbox 360 console at the product launch. A little over a year later, the console died (3 red lights). Microsoft asked me to ship the box (at my own cost) to their repair center, and charged me $140 for the repair. (Microsoft has since reimbursed the full cost of repair). They sent a refurbished console back to me. Within a month the replacement console died (one red light - general hardware failure). So I sent this console back for repair. The repaired console came back from the service center, and the very same failure occurred after an hour of use. Console was sent back for a SECOND repair. The repaired (again) console came back from the service center, and again the same failure occurred after an hour or so of use. Microsoft offered to exchange the console with another refurbished one. After a few months of better luck with the latest console, on one day all the wireless controllers and headsets stopped working. Microsoft refused my demands for new hardware, and would only offer repairs or another refurbished one. I accepted their offer to repair the console. Microsoft did not repair the console, but instead sent back yet another refurb. Amazingly, this refurb came back broken... with the very same problem (no wireless devices worked). Again, Microsoft refused new hardware and refused my demands to escalate the issue. So I reluctantly agreed to another refurb exchange. Microsoft agreed to have the service center exchange my console with the latest hardware, and to test the product before sending it back to me. The same console came back to me, not an exchanged unit and just as broken as when I sent it to them. It was as though no one had touched my console at all. When I contacted Microsoft I informed them that further repairs or refurb exchanges are out of the question. As of this writing, Microsoft has not yet replied with any further options.

I just want to report that although Microsoft does repair it for free, they actually send a refurbished faulty console which fails again in many cases. Looking at the forums, you'll see that many people are already on their 4th or 5th return. Considering it takes Microsoft about a month to send the new console, that's up to 5 months without a console! With no way out of this vicious cycle of being sent defective units as replacement, what are we supposed to do?

One consequence is not having the product we paid for for months on end. The last one they sent me lasted 1 week! I have bought games for my kids for Christmas which they won't be able to play without a console. What was the use of paying for extended warranty?

The failure rate of these systems was at least 30%. According to a statement made by Microsoft, the promised normal repair turnaround time was 3-4 weeks. It's been over 6 weeks since I've sent my console in for repair and after countless number of phone calls to their customer service center, I have yet to receive any information regarding the estimated return date of my console back to me. Each time I've spoken to a supervisor, I was told the service center was still looking into my case, but was never given any concrete information regarding the status of my console. After many attempts to plead with the repair center to expedite my repair due to such unusual circumstances, no one was able to help me and I was denied of all requests.

It shouldnt even be legal. I thought that warrenty laws prohibited this kind of action. It seems from reading the xbox forums that there is a sudden increase in this as of late. They are robbing their customers blind and getting away with it. They are returning xboxs only to have them break again.

I had to send my system back to MS for repairs which took 1 month. When I received my console back it was not my system, but rather a refurbished system that was dated Oct 05 which would be a launch unit. MS has publicly stated that a high percentage of launch units have failed. I also asked MS customer support for a credit for my Xbox live account since my system was being repaired for 1 month and I could not use the paid subscription service. That request was denied.

First off, I have gone through 4 xbox 360's in less then 2 years, due to broken hard drives, trays etc. I just recently bought another 360 about a week ago.

All I want to do now is recover my gamer tag/account information and put it on my newest 360. But of course a problem occurs, I forgot my password to xbox live and no longer have access to my primary live email address. My primary email address is no longer a valid email address.

So I called xbox told them what happened and they sent me to passport.net. I told them what happened and they told me how to reset my password. Funny thing is I just told them my email address that they send reset instructions to, no longer works. They didn't seem to get it. I went back and forth with xbox techs and passport.net for about a week now. Finally someone told me that without my primary email address that I was basically out of luck.

Xbox 360 developed '3 red ring' error rendering it non-functional. After doing hours of researching this issue on the Internet is appears to be a wide spread issue that is known about by Microsoft. I called Xbox hardware assistance and talked to an 'agent' and his supervisor regarding my problem. Xbox 360 units originally came with a 90 day warranty but was then lengthened to 1 year - maybe because of the wide spread problems(?).

Was told by agent that unit was out of warranty and the best he could do was to knock off 25% of the $130 repair costs, add free shipping and throw in a 1 year extended warranty. I also have an original Xbox that lasted about 1 1/2 years and developed an error that was told would cost $97 to fix - refused that as well because had just purchased 360. I have over $700 in 'useless' hardware and over $2000 in unplayable games and feel I am being unjustly asked to pay for repairs that should fall under some sort of recall action.

Microsoft denied that the first set of xbox 360's didn't work and refused to fix it. My son found a recall on a website where microsoft finally decided that they were wrong and would fix or send a new xbox360. We received a new xbox360 because the broken one was not repairable. The second xbox360 stopped working after 5 months and it also stopped working. I fought hard to have this xbox360 repaired because microsoft gives a 1 year warranty with all their NEW system and since this system was NEW I demanded a repair.

They sent a box again for us to send the broken xbox in . We received a NEW xbox360 and this one lasted 5 minutes. One June 1, 2007 we received our 4th xbox360, and now we lost all of our games that I paid for him to download. So now he has an xbox360 he still can't play.

After more research, I found tons and tons or articles on the extremely high failure rate of the internal hard drive...30 to 50%. They claim that the xbox 360 is backwards compatible, but it isn't. You need to get online and spend additional money in order to get it to work. All this is none to you well after you dropped $430 in the fine print. However even if your not satisified your stuck. Once you buy it its yours reguardless of how well it works. As long as it works its yours.

We purchased a Xbox 360 Premium bundle on 11/27/2006 as a gift for Christmas. The unit has been in use since early January 2007. The unit failed on 3/31/2007 while playing the Burnout Revenge game. Three red lights appeared on the game console and the power shut down. We followed the directions from the Microsoft's KB article 906103 to restore power to the unit. However, the unit will not power on. I'll will be contacting Microsoft today for warranty service.

I have had my XBox 360 for about a year. On March 27, 2006 my Xbox 360 quit on me. The console shuts down and has three flashing red lights around the power button rendering it unusable. I called Microsoft and they told me that because it wasn't registered that they would get my registration information. The guy entered in that I purchased it on March 25, 2006. I didn't realize it at the time, but that date he had just made up put the console at two days past the one year warranty. They then told me it would cost $130 to fix it. I spent $400 on an XBox and now they are charging me $130 to fix the deffective machine they sold me.

I have wasted $500 hard earned dollars to buy something that lasted less than six months.

I returned my xbox 360 after having it for FOUR MONTHS. It broke and they replaced it but, after having the replacement unit for only six and a half months it broke! Now on top of me giving them 600 dollars less than a year ago they want another 140! This is completely outrageous and terrible to do to a consumer. I have never heard of a company that wouldn't do everything it could to make you happy after you already sent something back once, something needs to be done about this.

Purchased the Xbox360 in December 2005. The unit, as with millions of other units, has been overheating. When my son contacted tech support via email he received a short email stating that the y acknowledged the problem but gave no information on how to fix the problem. Several attempts via tech support resulted in incomplete emails that appeared to have been part of a form email. STill no information given. When I called, I was told that my son (A MINOR) should have called instead of emailed his problem and as such they now could do nothing as it was out of warranty.

Now my son is stuck with a $600 unit that not only works intermittenly, but also is a fire hazard!

I bought a X-box 360 3 months ago and it just crashed, it keeps freezing to the point where it turns off. So I sent it for repair free of cost because of Microsoft's new 1 year warranty but I still have to pay for shipping and to insure it. How do I know if it will break down again? After I get it back I will only have a 30 day warranty which wont do me any good if it breaks down in another 3 months.

Bought my first Xbox 360 on 11/22/05. It lasted until 03/10/06 when it got the dreaded 3 red rings of death. The new console had issues right from the start. It would occasionally give an error message (E74) or just display a black screen. My 360 is now giving me the same error message EVERY time I turn the thing on. The same console arrives on 03/05/07 apparently repaired. I turn it on, it works fine for about an hour, freezes, shows error message E79 on restart and then basically dies.

Writing about x-box 360. I have had the xbox 360 for less than a year and it will not play a movie, cd, or game. You pay $499 for a product and it is broken in less than a year. They set up a product that does not work on a 90 day warranty plan and then make millions of dollars fixing the system that was probably engineered to fail.

I bought an Xbox 360 back in April of '06. Towards the end of January it developed the three blinking red lights. Called it in and support had me ship it out for repair. I got my replacement 9 days later and was very happy with the quick turn around. All was well unitl I tried to watch a movie, the console kept complaining about having the wrong region code. After some investigation I determined that the console they sent me was for another country and so I could not play region 1 DVDs on it. The new console locked After a few more trouble shooting steps it I got the three blinking red lights.

My Xbox 360 after having for about a year and being out of warranty for approx 14 days now just got the three lights error and went completely dead. I purchased at least $1,000.00 or more in games and accessories for this system and was told by Microsoft that I would have to pay $140.00 to repair this garbage and if they could not I would receive a refurbished unit. My Xbox 360 was used maybe 3 times a month and kept covered when not in use and in an open area when in use so no chance of overheating.
