If you would look online it seems like all the 19 inch Westinghouse TVs are failing after about 14 months (like mine). Can't we do something? It seems ridiculous that a company can put an inferior produce out and suffer no consequences. I am a very angry consumer!

I purchased a refurbished 46-inch Westinghouse HDTV on 07/05/09 at a Red Tag sales event in a warehouse. The TV was $667.27 and they also sold me a 3-year warranty on the TV for repairs. Westinghouse has a 90-day policy, and then the warranty should take effect. I really had no problem with my TV till 01/25/10. When I went to turn it on, it would not display a picture. I tried for 20 minutes, checking all the connections, etc. Still no picture nor blue monitor light or picture, only red.
I called Bankers Warranty Group of Fl, the company that held the warranty and they advised that refurbished TVs are not covered under warranty, only new TVs. I asked why then was I sold the warranty by Red Tag. They stated they did not know. I would need to call Ubid or Red Tag to obtain my refund as the warranty is not valid. I paid $69.99 for the 3-year warranty. I have tried to call Red Tag, yet I always receive a recording stating one thing or another. I also called Westinghouse for a referral; they stated I could go to anyone to have my TV repaired. I have a $667.00 TV that does not work and it is less than a year old and I have paid for a $69.99 warranty that is invalid.

I own a 32-inch Westinghouse LCD TV which started having problems about 2 years out from purchase at Best Buy (9/2007). It has vertical sometimes horizontal lines which come and go. It is now in a local repair shop along with a pile of other Westinghouse LCDs. I paid $549 and was happy until recently. This is a scenario where an extended warranty would have been great.
I paid $60 to have it looked at. I am afraid it may cost more if there is solution costing less than $150. I am joining the throng of unhappy consumers against Westinghouse. Never again!

I purchased the Westinghouse Model SK19H210S in March 2008 for $299. I originally went to Best Buy to get something different, but it was out of stock at Best Buy so they upgraded me to this Westinghouse. I knew nothing about Westinghouse but figured it would last longer than the 1-1/2 years. The TV is in a spare bedroom and rarely used. The blue light slightly comes on, but there is no picture, no sound, nothing. It is out of warranty now and I am not paying $150 to repair a piece of junk. There is a reason Best Buy no longer carries Westinghouse. Additionally, if you read reviews on this TV at Amazon, everybody else is have same problems just after the 1-year warranty expires.

My son received a refurbished Westinghouse 19 inch LCD TV/monitor for his birthday. 11 months later, it has completely died. Okay, so it's refurbished, but I've had other electronic devices that were refurbished and never had a problem, especially not within the first year. Now he has no TV and no computer because I don't have the money to buy another one and it's not easy finding a repair person who can fix it.

I bought a Westinghouse television from Best Buy in 2006. I bought this television because they specifically stated in their website that LCDs for my model do not have a burn-in problem and leaving them on will not cause the image to degrade. Currently, three years later, the screen has many burn-in problems and is degrading to the point where my 15-year-old tube television looks better. I called them up with all of this information and all they said was that they could do nothing at all and I should contact an out of warranty repair technician to fix the problem. I believe that this company is falsely advertising this product.

I'm writing today to let you know that I will never buy another Westinghouse product again. Ever. My problems started when I purchased one of your 32" LCD HDTVs. It worked fine for the first few months, but then it went bad. The picture began to flutter. I talked to customer service who asked me to send it back since it was still within warranty. So I did, at my expense. After a couple of weeks, they sent me a newer model than my previous one and I was rather happy. But when I was told that the warranty from my first television would carry over to the new one, I was rather disappointed and didn't think that was right at all since it was a completely different model and was brand new (or so I was told).
The new television was working fine until just after the one year warranty expired of course. The picture began to flutter just like the previous model. I was livid. I called customer service and was told I was out of luck and they gave me the names of authorized repair centers. Of course I never got it repaired because the cost of diagnosis and repair would far exceed the value of the television. So now myself and my family have to deal with a television that intermittently flutters for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Very annoying and not worth the time and money spent.
I have recently bought a new home and will be moving in soon. My future entertainment room will not include a Westinghouse television, but rather a Samsung instead. I will never trust and or purchase another Westinghouse product again.

I purchased an HDTV SK19H210S about a year ago. It worked fine. Then turning on the TV, the blue light did not come on. I called Westinghouse, and they said without a warranty and to call for a service repair. I did and explained what was happening. They said it would be expensive to fix it. Now when I play with the TV, the blue light will take a long time to come on.

I purchased a 19-inch Westinghouse HDTV model number sk-19h210s for my son about two years ago. I gave it to him as a Christmas gift. It was in "actual" use for about 19 months before it totally died. It would not turn on. We could hear something inside the unit making a soft buzzing noise, but that was it. After much research, I have discovered that it is the "norm" for Westinghouse TVs to up and die without warning in less than two years time. Three hundred dollars down the drain. Sad. There should be a class action suit against Westinghouse. I went to their website and there isn't even a dealer within 50 to 100 miles of us and Best Buy no longer carries them (because they were junk). I don't think it would do much good to contact the company. It seems that there must be at least 100 people that have posted online that they do nothing and are rude.

About 15 months ago, I purchased a Westinghouse SK-19H210S Widescreen HDTV. About two weeks ago, the TV would turn on, but I would have no picture or sound, just a faintly lit screen. I was unable to turn the TV off and had to unplug it for obvious safety reasons. This week, the TV would not turn on at all. I went online to see if I could find anyone familiar with this problem and to my surprise, found the what seems to be possibly hundreds of people who had purchased this product and had the same problem with it. I will never buy a Westinghouse product again, and I will inform every person I know about the people who have experienced the same problem with this company.

My parents bought me a Westinghouse LCD TV (I think 19") in March of 2008. This week, on Oct. 21st, the television will not work. All it does is flash on and off, and now it won't turn on altogether. I tried unplugging it. I thought it was my cable at first, but then I tried a DVD and it did the same thing; and now it won't turn on. The blue light that is supposed to come on to show that it is on, very faintly flickers on. I watch TV for about 2 hours a day, and just out of nowhere, it stopped working. And of course, the warranty is expired. How nice.

A little over a year after buying a Westinghouse SK-32H5405, the picture went out and only had sound. I pulled the back cover off and there is a Darfon power board on the left side. There are 3 large gray/black inverters or transformers. The upper one had a burn mark and some melted plastic. I called Westinghouse Customer Service and since it was over a year, the warranty was expired. They gave me the number for a local Sears store to get a repair estimate. It was a minimum of $105 to have someone come out to our house and look at it. Based on what I've seen, I will not buy Westinghouse again.

You can add our TV to the list of complaints regarding Westinghouse model #SK-19H210S. We purchased the set at Sam's Club in January of 2008. The trouble started with the TV alternating between TV and DTV, all on its own. Then there would be no picture, but the sound remained. Then no sound, but the picture would come on. Finally, nothing. The TV was dead. My husband decided to investigate, via the Internet, the possibility that others may have experienced a similar situation. We had no idea of the scope of the problem with this particular Westinghouse brand TV! We will lodge a complaint with the company, regardless of their indifference, as many others have stated. We decided to avoid the repair costs, which we anticipated would most likely be as costly as finding a replacement. Bottom line, no more Westinghouse in this house. Ever! We have lost $289.00 on what we now believe is a faulty product.

It went dead a couple of weeks ago (does not turn on, even the little blue light behind the Westinghouse logo does not come on) and Westinghouse service told me that it will cost $150 to repair when I've already spent over $300 at Best Buy for it! Based on the number of complaints I've seen on a Google search, don't buy any Westinghouse product if you need a quality product.

In May 2008, I purchased a 19" Westinghouse LCD TV SK-19H210S from Best Buy for my guest room using (2) $100 gift certificates from my children and over $100 out of pocket. I did not take out the extended warranty. Big, big mistake! If the TV was on 100 times in the past 15 months, it was a lot! It is the worst piece of junk I have ever purchased! I used a power strip and went out yesterday (not a cloud in the sky) and came home to a bright screen. (I did not leave it on while I was out). I thought, this isn't good!
However, when I tried to get a picture (using cable), I could hear sound but no picture. Then purple and black vertical lines, then nothing! I had to unplug it because it was getting hot and I couldn't turn it off even manually! I did call BB and they said, "If it makes you feel any better, we don't carry that brand anymore!". Am I supposed to come up with $300 every year for a TV?! I would not even bother fixing it. Junk! Beware! I will try the 866 number tomorrow, but doubt anything will come of it! I am so aggravated. PS: I heard Vizio available at Walmart is highly rated.

My wife bought me a Westinghouse SK-19H210S LCD TV for Christmas 2007. I plugged it in and have had no problem until June 5, 2009. I turned the TV on and got nothing. No power to the TV. I unplugged it then plugged it back in; still nothing. I checked the cord, and I had power to the end. The unit was purchased without an extended warranty. I found the paperwork and noticed that the unit only had a one-year warranty on it.
Since the warranty had expired, I searched the internet and found many, many people had the same problem with the same set. All units had power supply failure within 14 to 17 months after purchase. I called Westinghouse and actually did get to talk to someone. He told me I would have to purchase the replacement parts and fix the TV myself because the warranty had expired. I do not have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with is the response I received when I asked the tech on the phone about all the complaints I found on the internet. His response when asked if Westinghouse was going to do something because so many people had the same problem was as follows:
"Don't you tell us how to run our business. You bought the set; you can fix it. Don't call us anymore. The best way to contact us is through email." I asked if I could talk to a supervisor, and I was informed they are much too busy to talk to me. When asked if there was a QA department I could talk to, the answer was no; and the line went dead due to him hanging up on me.
Guess what, I have sent five (5) emails with no response. I will never buy another White Westinghouse product again.

After endless recordings about the next rep will assist you in the order in which the call was received, blah, blah, blah, I was connected to their general mailbox and instructed to leave a message. Then I started researching this issue on the web and after reading horror stories on this site, as well as similar stories on other sites, I saw no need to go any further. I bought a 26" Westinghouse Flat Screen TV Model # SK26H730S on 11/28/08 from Target. I also bought a 3-year Service Plan. The television has a terrible buzz noise in the speakers. My error, I did not take it back to Target immediately - busy with the Holidays, etc. I went on a trip for 2 months, and when I got back, the 3 months of coverage under Target was no longer in effect. I took it to Target, not knowing at the time about the 90-day return policy. They told me to deal with Westinghouse.
I figured, "No problem." I had a Service Contract for 3 years. That lost cause began in April. I have been told, as everyone else, either pay for a 3rd party service person to come out (approximately $100-$150) or return it to Westinghouse. I figured it would be cheaper to return it to Westinghouse so I asked for a Return Merchandise # so I could send it back. I'm still waiting for that #, but after reading all the problems, I decided I am not going to send it back or pay to have it repaired.
I am out of pocket for a $450 TV. I have learned that I will never buy another Westinghouse product for as long as I live! I will also tell everyone of my friends, of which I have many, not to buy their products either.
I wonder why our country is falling behind Japan, China, Korea and other countries that we once put back on their feet? Because there is no longer any pride in what is made in this country. There is no pride in self or of a job well done. All most are doing is "just what is necessary to get by"; there is no quality control and the biggest problem in this country is Greed! That is what has caused our current problems.
Unless people quit accepting the crap that is being pushed off on us by greedy companies and start demanding quality products, we will continue to have to deal with the problems we are now experiencing with things like this Westinghouse piece of crap. The only way we can fight back is with our pocketbooks. If it means a company going out of business, good, if the reason they are losing business is because of inferior merchandise. It has to start somewhere. Let it be with us.

Like they say, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." On February 11, 2009, I purchased Westinghouse's 32" LCD Widescreen TV and 19" computer monitor from one of my favorite online retailers for what I thought were bargain prices. On February 27, the power supply of the LCD went out. Two weeks later, the power supply on the monitor also went out. The devices were still under manufacturer's warranty.
I reported the problems to Westinghouse's customer service, and on their insistence, I paid the shipping charges to return the equipment to them. I have called them several times since then for repair or replacement to no avail. One day, they'd tell me that there was no record their warehouse had received the returned equipment. Another day, they'd say the warehouse received them but there was no status update. Other days, they'd promise to escalate the matter to "Corporate Office" for resolution. The excuses go on and on. And yet, at this time, I am out of almost $500 which I paid for both equipment.
Now, when it comes to Westinghouse products, I have come to believe two things, namely: 1. The company doesn't manufacture good products, 2. Its after-sales product support, including its warranty, is lousy.
You don't have to take my word for it. Just click below to see other customers' experiences. And so, whenever you see a store front pitching to sell "premier 42", Full High Definition, 1080p Displays made by Westinghouse for an "incredible deal (of) $579.99," I feel a sense of obligation to warn you: "Buyer Beware!". In 2/09, after waiting a month for an RMA number, I called back and the rep stated it wasn't even filed! That he was going to do it for me and it would take up to five days. No email. In 3/09, since my warranty expired at the end of February, I had to get it approved. That took a week.
In 4/09, the RMA number and shipping address were emailed to me. It took $90.00 to send it back. The tracking on UPS said it got there around the 8th of March. I called on the 10th to make sure they had received it. They said it takes up to ten days to process, so I called back on the 20th. They said it was sitting in shipping waiting to be shipped and to call back in five days for the tracking number to follow it home! I called back on the 27th. They said it was still sitting there! I called back on the 29th - still sitting there and that they would put an urgent notice on it for me (how nice).
I called today, May 4th, and the rep told me that it was still being processed; they didn't get it until 4-20, which is a total lie; and that it was not in shipping, but in the repair center. Every time I call, I get a different answer to where my television is at. It's very frustrating and I'll never buy another product of Westinghouse. About 3 weeks ago, we sent a letter to corporate offices to the CEO (copies to the President, VP of Sales and VP of Marketing) explaining the situation. We have not heard anything. I want everyone to know about the problems we have had with this warranty service! Consequences: watching a 19" TV versus the 40" and spending almost $750 without the benefit of watching/enjoying the 40".

We bought a 37" Westinghouse LCD monitor from Buy.com in September 2008. It worked for about 5 months before the picture disappeared. I immediately called Westinghouse customer service and was told that the backlight had gone out and that they'd be emailing me an RMA # to return the broken unit. I followed their instructions, paid $250 out of my own pocket to send the defective monitor to them, then waited five days (as they asked) to contact them about status. It took them two weeks to get the television into their system.
It's now been two months and dozens of calls and I've been told any number of things from "no status update" to "the manager will call you" (this never happens, by the way), to this past Monday, "We've been authorized to send you a 42-inch television since we no longer make the 37. I'll be in touch with a tracking number within 24-48 hours." I called back today, Friday, and no status update. I cannot speak to a manager. He has to call me. He doesn't. I have, apparently, no recourse and feel as if my money is being held hostage. I've also learned since that I'm not alone here. Thousands of complaints of this very type have been made against Westinghouse about their inability to honor their warranties and some people have never received their replacement televisions. And now, I read Westinghouse Digital may have filed for bankruptcy. Fantastic. I don't know what to do.

I purchased a 19-inch flat screen monitor L1975NW from Best Buy. When I opened the box, the stand was missing. I called Best Buy. They said that was the last one and I could return it. Before I decided to return it, I called Westinghouse customer service. I explained what happened. The representative said, “No problem. You will receive it next week.” Several weeks and 4 calls later, I still haven't received the stand, and now it’s too late to return it to BB because of a re-stocking fee. Every time I call Westinghouse, I'm told the message was forwarded to Corporate. I ask for a supervisor; I'm told there aren't any. I ask for a callback and don't get one. I ask for Consumer Affairs; I'm told they don't have number. The calls have been registered under the ** number. What kind of a Mickey Mouse operation do you run? I've been way too patient. My next call is to BBB.

We purchased a brand new Westinghouse widescreen HDTV model SK-32h240s on 3/25/08 from a local Walmart store. In Feb. 2009, it went completely black. Walmart said we had to contact Westinghouse since 90 days had passed. Westinghouse told us that we had to ship the TV to them at our own expense which totaled $220 using UPS. Westinghouse makes themselves very evasive both via internet and by telephone. Westinghouse told me that if our TV could not be repaired, a new TV would be shipped to me at their shipping expense. After six weeks, we received a new TV. I plugged it in and immediately this new TV now has diagonal lines across the screen.
I then checked my connections and I found a sticker covering the original serial number that reads refurbished and with a new serial number on this same sticker. We originally paid $604.04 for it at Walmart. We are now expected to again ship this TV back to Westinghouse at our expense. Do the math. I purchased a new working TV or at least I thought I did from Walmart, and I've yet to receive one. I'm going to end up paying Westinghouse twice the original purchase price now. I really need any kind of help from anyone.

Do not buy Westinghouse flat screen televisions - they are terrible. Their customer service is terrible as well and there is not any place in a town of 650,000 people that you can go and get if fixed. I had to throw away a 2.5 year old TV that I paid $1,500 for.

After 14 months (warrantied for 12), the TV developed a vertical line, which verified by their techs as well as service people is known to happen in LCD TVs and is a bad panel. Auto dealers when they know of a problem have a recall... Should not TV companies do the same? Being on a fixed income, and having retired 1 1/2 years ago, I spent $1000 for this TV. To buy another one after a year plus is not feasible and to replace a panel is as much as new TV.

We own the LTV-27w6 HD widescreen HDTV Westinghouse tv which has scrambled for about 6 months now. The warranty has expired. We bought the tv from video only who will not do anything to honor the tv since we bought it in '06. Today we called Westinghouse who said we could submit an rma # claim and ship the tv to Texas and that they would in turn send us a refurbished tv of similar value to what we have. Ours is in excellent condition other than the fact that it tends to randomly scramble, uncontrollably. To be cont. We don't know what kind of can of worms we are opening now....

I bought a 37 LCD monitor from Westinghouse. Just shy of two years old, it stops working and in fact, begins to smoke whenever I turn it on. Customer service says that since it is a discontinued model that they no longer make parts for, they will replace it if I ship it to them. Packaging and shipping to California from Tennessee is nearly $200.
So far, it has been five weeks since UPS shows they received the monitor. I've been promised all kinds of things, including a bigger monitor for a replacement, call backs from supervisors and shipping dates that keep getting moved back week after week. Yesterday, after being told it would be another week before it would ship, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General of California. I WILL get their attention.

Bought a Westinghouse LVM-42w2 and was loving it. About 3 months out of warranty, it went bad. The DVI ports on it started going all screwy. Had I not been using the ports I might not have minded so much but I had a Home Theater PC hooked up to one and my Digital set top box to the other. I called Westinghouse and they told me the that it was out of warranty but that if I could send it back to then they would still fix it. I was ecstatic to say the least. Pay about $100 to send it back and get it fixed for free even though the warranty is up, I was okay with that. So I sent it in and it did not take very long. Got my unit back in about 2 weeks or so.
Problem was this new unit had two vertical rows of dead pixels. So I called them up to see what could be done. The service rep said that since it was a failed RMA they would issue shipping labels and allow me to send it back for a replacement. Again, I was okay with that. So about 2 weeks pass and I don't have any shipping labels. I had to call 2 more times to get the labels e-mailed to me. Once I finally got the labels, I was able to send the TV in to be replaced... a second time. Well the TV got to them on Oct. 3, 2008 and I still do not have a replacement.
I have been calling for the past month(!!) to see what is going on. I know it was checked into their system on the 7th of October but after that it does not seem like anything has happened. Multiple status requests have been sent out to, from what I have been told, everyone and still nothing has happened. I will be calling them back, again, tonight and if something does not happen I am going to find other ways to get what I want. At this point, it is getting ludicrous. I'm not sure what action I can take but at this point I will consider almost anything to get my TV back. I could have almost bought and paid off a new TV by now and I am a poor college kid.

Westinghouse LCD Television M/N: LTV-32w3 HD and -32w6 HD, picture begins to flutter after approximately a year of service. I've had to exchange the first one (which was fortunately under warranty) and the second one will need to be repaired. In my opinion this brand of television is not trustworthy or dependable. I'll have to spend a pretty penny to have this one evaluated and repaired. It's not fair.

I sent in my television for rma (while under warranty) about six months ago. I had to make numerous calls to get them to send me another tv. When they did finally send me one it was an older model then the one I had purchased and it was cracked. I had to file an insurance claim with ups. I was told that they would send me another tv but they have yet to do so. I keep calling and I keep getting no information, all they can do is keep putting in status requests, which are never responded to. I have asked for the money from the insurance claim and they said that they could not do that. I ask if there is anything that I can do to expedite the process and I am told there is nothing I can do but wait. I ask if there is any time frame that they can give me and they say no there is none.
I used the tv for about 3 months only and westinghouse has been holding my tv hostage for about 6 months and counting. The value of my tv keeps depreciating and I can't even get any use out of it. Is there no limit to how long they can hold my tv for?

It is very bad that only after 6 months of the warranty expiration the TV is useless, I want to share my experience so no one else suffer the same as I did, plase avoid buying westinghouse TV's, I don't know about other electronic appliances but the TV's are really really bad and also the warranty, hopefully this complain will help someone, again avoid westinghouse electronics, they are not worth it.
