How does ShedRx work?

ShedRx customers start with an online application. If you qualify, you’ll then go through an initial consultation, where you can discuss your goals and get paired with the right weight-loss medication. ShedRX offers two weight-loss medications: compounded semaglutide (similar to brands Wegovy and Ozempic) and compounded tirzepatide (similar to brands Zepbound and Mounjaro).

During the consultation is also the time to ask any questions you may have. Medications are prescribed by a licensed provider and shipped to you directly, usually within 5 to 10 business days.

Subscriptions include the medication, instructions, supplies, shipping and access to a care team that can answer questions and provide basic guidance. There’s also optional health coaching if you want more in-depth assistance with the medication or other healthy living questions. Plans have an initial two-month commitment, but then run month-to-month and can be canceled at any time.

ShedRx weight loss medications

ShedRX offers compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide. Both are used to treat type 2 diabetes, in addition to being prescribed for weight loss.

The two drugs are fairly similar, but there are some subtle differences that might make one better than the other for an individual. The two drugs help you feel fuller for longer after you eat and can reduce appetite and even out blood sugar.

Note that both of these drugs can have side effects. It’s important to discuss them with your healthcare provider before taking them.

It’s also worth mentioning that these are compounded medications. This means that they’re not prepackaged, but instead have been mixed and prepared by a licensed physician or pharmacist. The medications themselves are Food and Drug Administration-approved, but the actual compounded drugs you receive are not. This isn’t generally an issue — sometimes compounding is necessary — but it’s something to be aware of.

    I have been attempting to cancel my subscription for over three weeks, but I keep being directed to their website to do so. There is no option for cancellation available. I have sent emails and communicated with AI, but nothing has resolved. They charged me fir medication that I have not yet received. I received the first medication in April and am still waiting for May dose, yet they have already indicated that my next delivery will be in in June, despite me not having received the May medication. This company appears fraudulent. I am surprised they are still in operating.

      No refund policy is very ambiguous and always ends in you not receiving a refund. Shed charged me for an order, that I didn’t receive - have still not received and they won’t issue a refund. They want me to use that money towards purchasing something else off of their website. Very very poor policy to stand by.

      I promise I am not one to only write negative reviews but I’ve never worked with a more incompetent and frustrating company. My experience with Shed over the past three months has been exhausting, aggravating and time consuming. Their website is glitchy, they take too long to get back to you and no one ever picks up the phone when you call customer service. I canceled my membership and they still sent my prescription to the pharmacy. It took me 25 minutes just to get someone to cancel my prescription and I had to speak to four different people! I know insurance doesn’t always cover medications, but I would not work with Shed. I hope others have had a better experience but for the money I was spending, I expected more efficient and prompt service. On a positive note, when I finally reached someone via email, they were always very pleasant. The leadership of this organization needs to rethink their structuring!

      They are unduly charging my credit card for 3 months, the system don't allow you to delete the cc number and they keep charging you even when the medication is not approved or shipped. Due to a problem in their system, if you are not approved, you cannot cancel the subscription but it keeps charging you. They use an AI system and make it impossible to talk to a human being to help you solve the issue. Trying to cancel for 3 months and nothing.

      This company is a scam! I was on Trizepatide in the past and had wonderful experience. I don’t know what this company sent me but I spent 2 weeks in pain with gastritis! I immediately reached out to them to cancel, I know it says 2 months commitment however I developed serious health reaction to whatever they sent and couldn’t continue. Agent said my subscription was cancelled, few days later they tried to auto draft my card (luckily there wasn’t enough)! I reached out again, agent said that was now cancelled and no more auto draft. 2 weeks later I received notification to rate my experience, I go on website and it says “subscription active”!!!! With auto draft setup for a week from now. I contacted them again…. But I also going to just cancel that card for fraud and report them! Do not use this company!!!! Additionally I switched back to in office provider and I have no side effects to actual medication! This company is a scam!!!!

      I was approved for the product. They never contacted me. I finally contacted them because the product did not arrive in 7-10 days. They told me to pay $80 more for liquid product. I told them I would take the shots. They told me I had to make an appointment. I asked for my money back because by this time they had already charged me for the shots. They then tell me they won't refund my money because of a 72 hour cancel clause. How do you have a 72 hour clause when someone cannot even try the product that has not been delivered? In their portal it shows my next billing is March 31st and no product was delivered! This company is shady and lacks integrity. If I could rate you zero stars I would. BUYER BEWARE.

      I got some pills that did not work. I tried to cancel, but I was told I couldn't because it was a subscription, so I canceled my credit card. It has been over a year, their robocall still calls my phone several times a month, and since I have their numbers blocked, their machine still leaves me messages. Today was my last nerve, and I had my phone company disable my messages. I was told by the government not to contact them because that restarts their hold on my number and the right to call me regardless of the "do not call list."

      This company refuses to refund me 400 dollars worth of charges that were not made by me, and even if they had been, I have not received ANYTHING from them. I disputed with my credit card, and they refused to be cooperative as I reached out and told them these charges were not made by me. It's like they don't understand that when your email is hacked, the hacker then has information from other emails, as well as any personal information that is connected to your email.

      I was laughed at on the phone, was told all they can do is issue one refund of the two fraudulent charges, and then when I said I would still be disputing the other charge then, she again laughed, and said then she would be issuing no refund. I am appalled, quite frankly, by the customer service and ethics of this company. 400 dollars for absolutely nothing, and they will not help me. I am shaking from the phone conversation I just had. I wish I could give zero stars because this has been the most horrendous experience with any online company ever.

      I placed an order for this medication back in January and still have not received it. Every time I reach out for assistance, there is no real human interaction — only AI responses that do not resolve anything. I was finally able to speak with someone at NovoCare, and they directed me to Carewell regarding the prescription. When I contacted Carewell, I was then told I would need to pay an additional $149 for delivery. This was never clearly explained upfront. To make matters worse, I’ve been told I cannot cancel even though I have never received my medication. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating and discouraging. What should have been a straightforward process turned into months of confusion, added costs, and no resolution. I would not recommend this service based on my experience. At this point, I’ll just stick to walking.

      At first my experience was fine. My prescription came on time and I was losing weight. I started in July. By October my prescription was starting to come late, sometimes a whole week and half late. During the month of December I was double charged. December 5th and December 30th. I never recipe December 30th and then they charged me again january 27th and I never received that one either. They claim it's because I had to confirm my address, my address never changed and there wasn't any prompt in the portal that said I needed to confirm my address. They will not give me a refund. I have canceled my subscription. I am speaking with my bank to dispute these charges. Do not go through Shed.

      Updated on 05/10/2026: I wrote my first complaint on February 13, 2026, stating I didn’t receive my product and do not want to have a televisit with their provider. Something just do not sit well with me having a Zoom appointment at 10 pm. I want my refund. She’d responded on February 20, 2026. It’s now May 9, 2026. Show me a reply that shows my refund. I wish I could give them a negative star rating.

      Original Review: Dec 13, 2025 I requested for Tirzepatide injection for $169.00. I never had my consultation with ShedRx provider due to appointment was after 10 PM. I reached out to shed to cancel my order and subscription. I was advised no reimbursement of my money until my PCP note state I could not take with my already prescribed diabetes medication or pay for the second month of $169.00 then I can cancel. Today is Feb 13, 2025. Still no $169 reimbursement and no medication ever received due to I will not meet with Shed provider. Highly not recommended.

      I have been using this company for 6-7 months. At 1st all was well for 2 months. Then they billed me without talking to the doctor. I wasted 30 days and lost nothing. I demanded an appointment and a doctor changed the meds saying it was not working. I began loosing again. All seemed well. Until they took my payment and waited a week to ever order my meds. Then several days to fulfill. I complained that I was off the meds due to the time lapse. The apologized and offered a 20% discount. I ordered again 4 weeks later. This time they stalled for almost 2weeks. I ran out again and I am off meds. But they have my payments. I complained. They said by tomorrow. That was 2 days ago. You can not call as there is no number. Chat is not a human. The email that says 12-24 hours is 72 at best! I just quit. This medicine needs to be timely. Going on and off makes it ineffective. So I saw my local doctor. She put in an order at Costco. I can get it today.

      Avoid ShedRx at all costs. Their billing practices are dishonest, predatory, and incredibly stressful. They consistently charge my account days earlier than the scheduled date, causing issues with my checking account. They advertise that you can “pause or cancel anytime before your next treatment,” but that is simply not true. It is practically impossible — their system blocks you, and customer service gives you the runaround.

      When I attempted to cancel, they offered me 30% off. Sounds good, right? Except they quietly raised the regular price to $299, then charged me $209 for the “discount.” I had been paying $149/month all along — so 30% off should have been nowhere near $209. This is blatant manipulation. Their customer support team responds quickly when the issue is anything except billing. When it comes to money, suddenly they “can’t refund,” only “credit the account.” Convenient, right? Crooks. Absolute crooks. No transparency, no accountability, and no respect for the customer. The business model is built on lies and tricking people into paying more than they agreed to. Save yourself the stress — do NOT sign up with ShedRx.

      I started in July 2025 and received my medication every month. The last vial shipped to me was in November. I was charged in December and January, yet received no medication. Shipments just stopped but auto pay continues. I have reached out MANY times with no resolution. I am cancelling my membership and filing a claim with my credit card company to help get my money back (almost 600.00). New members be very careful!

      Placed an order Jan 7th, got approved immediately. Was told the pharmacy the order was sent to would reach out to me. Never did. Finally called pharmacy and they never received the order. Let Shed know and all you get is an AI generated person. No one to physically talk to and no one ever reaches out to you as the automated response says they will. Can’t cancel my membership until it’s been 2 months. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Took my money with no product ever received. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

      Worst company ever to use. I had my consultation on January 13th was told they will send my prescription over to the pharmacy they use (Novo Pharmacy). Still haven’t got a word back for my prescription, and I’ve tried to cancel my subscription with the company, everyone is horrible at getting back to me in a timely manner. They don’t have a contact number to call and talk to someone, and they won’t cancel my membership because they state that it’s a two month membership commitment that is not visible on the site when you sign up for the membership. Not to mention the membership is 99 dollars a month and when you first sign up they make it seem like you’ll get the prescription free if you get the membership through the company, and that is not true.

      When I had my consultation the consultant told me the membership is separate from the prescription and you’ll have to buy the prescription separately which could cost from 200-600 for the glp-1 weight loss medicine what a joke this place is. Whatever you do, don’t do the membership, it’s not worth it. You’re better off paying for the prescription out of your own pocket, rather than going through this place.

      This is an impossible company to deal with. I have requested numerous times to cancel an order and the subscription. A barrage of emails go back and forth and nothing gets accomplished. There is no option to cancel when you go into manage subscription. It just continues to go on via email without getting anything completed. This company used bait and switch tactics to get me to reorder-but then prescribed a different medication and starter dosage. They are disreputable business and stay away.

      Hello, I cancelled my subscription with ShredRx after they charged me the $399 for the medication. I reached out to see if I can get a refund but they told me I couldn't due to their policy, which is fine. I have reached out numerous of times regarding them sending me the medication since I already paid for it but I can't seem to get ahold of anyone. I just get an email response saying someone will reach out within the next business day. I've been trying to finalize this since Friday and it's Wednesday. It's very hard going back and forth via email when they take forever to respond. They need a better communication system where we can talk to someone over the phone so there's not so much confusion and time wasting.

      I'm having a really hard time getting my results for the DNA Total wellness kit. I did everything on my part and mailed it out. After a few weeks it said that it is processed, but I can't see any reports in my portal. Customer service takes two whole days, with no real resolution. I have tried different browsers, computer, cleared catch and pop up and nothing. I have been scammed for $500.

      You get charged every month, but it took 3 weeks past my 4th shot to even receive the 5th shot so it was impossible to stay on schedule with my dosing schedule. The only way you can communicate with them is through a chat or email and it takes forever for them to respond.

      Since starting with ShedRx a year ago, I have only received six of my monthly Tirzepatide orders and have been overcharged ~$500, with no resolution/credit in sight. I started having issues four months ago and have “talked” (email only – getting someone on the phone is next to impossible) to a half dozen different customer service reps. At one point, I was guaranteed discounted pricing on all future orders, but the discount was never applied. I will say, they respond quickly, but most responses are not helpful and they only allow a small window of time for responses back before support tickets are closed out.

      For example, I sent a breakdown of the $500 in overcharges and customer service responded quickly saying my monthly pricing had been adjusted as previously guaranteed and asking if I would like them to credit ~$49 to my account. Um, no. I want the $500 you overcharged me. Then, because I did see their email until late the next day, my ticket was closed and I had to start over. On round two, I received another quick response asking for my birth date for purposes of validating my email address. DOB sent almost immediately, but my ticket was closed again. My third attempt went just like the first: quick response asking if I wanted a $49 credit vs. the $500 overcharged. At this point, I have been going back and forth with ShedRx for over a month, cannot get anyone on the phone and even tried escalating to a manager, but have gotten nowhere on getting the pricing I was promised or a credit/refund for the ~$500 in overcharges.

      I began the process with ShedRx on December 31st. It took ten days just to schedule an appointment to get the medication approved. After meeting with the doctor on January 9th, my medication wasn’t approved until January 12th. Today is January 15th, and the order still has not been filled by the pharmacy or shipped. I understand that delays can happen, but at this point it has been over 15 days with no medication shipped. Based on my experience, I would recommend considering another company. Several other people I’ve spoken with who use similar services typically receive their medication within 3–5 days of placing an order.

      When you start meds are on time, portal is correct & charges match each shipment. You end up with meds delayed, charged twice in 1 month & portal is wrong. Prescription doesn't match what is prescribed. They send you to whatever pharmacy has medication that pharmacy can send you whatever terzepatide compound they want even though your prescription says B12 and it becomes an oh well moment that's all they have yet you paid $399 for tirzepatide B12 compound. And they continue to charge you even though their partnering pharmacy hasn't fulfilled your prescription.

      When I signed up on December 6th through the FSA website, the first month was supposed to be $99, and they charged me $99, but then two days later they charged me another $47. Yesterday they charged me $199 and it's supposed to be $149 per month. The doctor had told me I would use 0.25 mg for 4 weeks and then 0.5 mg for another 4 weeks, and then we would see if we needed to increase the dosage. They sent me 0.5 mg on December 10th, and the instructions said to inject 8 units, which is much less than 0.25 mg.

      Today I'm supposed to increase to 0.50 mg, which would be 25 units. Yesterday they charged me more than the agreed-upon amount of $149 per month, and they haven't sent me an email confirming that they are processing my second medication shipment. I've sent more than four emails, their phones are disconnected, and while they were very attentive the first month, it's now impossible to get in touch with anyone. The chatbot says someone will contact me, but more than 48 hours have passed and no one has answered any of my questions. I haven't received my second order, and I was supposed to receive my fifth dose yesterday.

      Horrible business practices. They make you pay upfront, before even scheduling with a provider. Stupidly I did it, then I went to schedule with a provider and the only availability was after 10pm the following day. No legit doctor is doing 10pm visits. So I decided to cancel. Except they won’t let me cancel. They say I’m committed for 2 months, but committed to WHAT? I have no prescription, no provider, nothing. So I’m just paying for them to scam me? Their customer service is non existent. It’s basically robots sending prescripted messaging (like, “to edit your subscription, go to manage subscription” which I’ve now responded 5x saying I don’t have a subscription!). This company is sketchy as hell and everyone needs to know it. You’ll be paying for nothing and won’t be able to cancel.

      Started in September, since then did not lose any weight, even gained 3 lbs. I was giving a chance for 3 months hoping at some point it will start working. Seems like it’s not, so I’m giving up and will cancel subscription, I’m not ready to pay $299 a month for hope. I don’t know, is it me, or they send just something else but not GPL-1

      Shed mailed me medication but it was never delivered. I started a claim with UPS and reached out the Shed. They strung me along for several days asking me the same questions over and over only to then say the pharmacy would not replace the medication. When I asked them to cancel the account since I just wasted $100 and didn’t want to run the risk of being out another $200 they refused. So now I’m out $100 for nothing, no help from Shed, no medication, nothing. Don’t waste money on them. Look for a company that will work with you and help you out.

      At first seemed great. Got approved, had a consultation, got my meds within a week. Next month and still haven't received a shipping notification after 2 weeks. Out of meds and charged for Zofran I specifically told the dr I didn't need and it also had doubled in price. Asked support for a refund and told they don't give refunds. Canceled my subscription and still out $300 since I probably won't get the meds. Will also be watching to see if they honor my cancellation or try to charge me in January.

      If I could give less than 1 star I would. They automatically bill your credit card but you still have to ASK for the medication. Then shipping is so sketchy. You might get it in a couple of weeks or not at all. They have no idea if it has been sent or when it will arrive. Every other company has mastered this shipping part (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc), but not ShedRx. They have no idea. They abandon their customer service department and may get back to you or not. Their portal is a joke—difficult to navigate and says nothing but advertising for them. And the cost is terrible. They charge $50 for a prescription for ** for side effects. The medication is an additional cost but to send the script it costs $50?? This company is a definite NO. Never.

      I been with this company since February. It start off great. I start having issues with them in August going back and forth about my prescription. I end up canceling my subscription. I finally decided to give it another o boy I shouldn't have they done. Got worse. They have lack of communication. I never had to schedule appointments every other week just to keep my prescriptions going. They never updated the portal right. I get text message all the time about making a appointments with the doctor when I already happen and already talk to the doctor. You ask why. They really don't give you a good reason. Now I'm afraid again I won't get my prescriptions on time like they did in few months. It was a headache and very frustrating.

      Really bad customer service - Pros: received initial dose quickly. Cons: initial dose was extremely weak so I contacted the provider to up the dosage. Since this billed as a subscription, it should be included right? Nope! Once the updated subscription came in, they charged an additional $299 for the new order (2 weeks after the initial order). Ok...so that sucks but at least the new order is on its way right? NOPE! My account says I must meet with a Dr. again....even though I have already met with 2 doctors already. Customer service is of no help except to charge your card. I have asked multiple times for them to ship this updated order so I won't have to skip a week and each time nothing happens. I can't imagine a worse experience. Short of actually being robbed.

      Consumers beware! This company is shady and fraudulent. They will tell you that you can schedule appointment with provider any time to get approval for medication, but they won't tell you that your "subscription" starts regardless of the fact that you don't have an approved treatment plan and they do not even bother to communicate about rescheduling, so that they can continue to quietly charge you.
