What is ShedRx?

ShedRX is a weight loss-focused telehealth company that provides weight-loss medication, health coaching and supplements. It was founded in 2022 and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.

ShedRX offers two weight-loss medications: compounded semaglutide (similar to brands Wegovy and Ozempic) and compounded tirzepatide (similar to brands Zepbound and Mounjaro). The health coaching service claims it can help customers form stronger habits to support weight loss and a healthy lifestyle.

How does ShedRx work?

ShedRx customers start with an online application. If you qualify, you’ll then go through an initial consultation, where you can discuss your goals and get paired with the right weight-loss medication. This is also the time to ask questions, should you have any. Medications are prescribed by a licensed provider and shipped to you directly, usually in about five to 10 business days.

Subscriptions include the medication, instructions, supplies, shipping and access to a care team that can answer questions and provide basic guidance. There’s also optional health coaching if you want more in-depth assistance with the medication or other healthy living questions. Plans have an initial two-month commitment, but then run month-to-month and can be canceled at any time.

ShedRx weight loss medications

ShedRX offers two weight-loss medications: compounded semaglutide (similar to brands Wegovy and Ozempic) and compounded tirzepatide (similar to brands Zepbound and Mounjaro). Both are used to treat type 2 diabetes, in addition to being prescribed for weight loss.

The two drugs are fairly similar, but there are some subtle differences that might make one better than the other for an individual. The two drugs help you feel fuller for longer after you eat and can reduce appetite and even out blood sugar.

Note that both of these drugs can have side effects. It’s important to discuss them with your healthcare provider before taking them.

It’s also worth mentioning that these are compounded medications. This means that they’re not prepackaged, but instead have been mixed and prepared by a licensed physician or pharmacist. The medications themselves are Food and Drug Administration-approved, but the actual compounded drugs you receive are not. This isn’t generally an issue — sometimes compounding is necessary — but it’s something to be aware of.

ShedRx cost

ShedRX costs vary depending on which medication and plan you choose. Here’s a breakdown:

Semaglutide

  • Maintenance: $199 per month, up to 1 mg/dose
  • Standard: $299 per month, up to 2.5 mg/dose
  • VIP: $269 per month for maintenance dose, $369 per month for standard dose — includes health coaching and expedited shipping

Tirzepatide

  • Starter: $299 per month, up to 5 mg/dose

  • Standard: $499 per month, up to 10 mg/dose
  • VIP: $469 per month for maintenance dose, $569 per month for standard dose — includes health coaching and expedited shipping.

The initial consultation is $49. Health coaching can be purchased separately for $64.99 per month.

You pay the initial $25, do not speak with anyone. 2-3 weeks later the site shows your prescription is ready. You pay $199-$299 depending on the strength. Then it says 2-3 weeks for shipping. You finally get the medication 3 weeks later you're charged the $199-$299 again. The website will show your 2nd shipment expected date. The medication is never shipped because you have to pay more $$ for a follow-up visit. So now you are $500 in on the low end and you received 1 prescription. Only way to speak with someone is through text and no clue who you are speaking with. Cancelling is almost impossible and they refuse to provide a refund. Stay away at all costs, I should have read the reviews first. Not sure how they can charge for prescriptions that were never filled. Seems like a FDA violation to me.

IT IS CRIMINAL, THAT THE FSA STORE SHARES SHREDRX AS AN ACCREDITED BBB COMPANY. They are not, they have an F rating. ZERO customer service, ZERO follow through with a physician, ZERO concern for customers. They care about one thing - $$$$$. I blame the FSA store for advertising this Quack company on their website and will never trust their advertised products again. How do companies like ShredRX allowed to write prescriptions with zero interaction with a physician..they charge your card immediately and then NO one contacts you. The address they list for the company is fake. There is NO customer service number - that should tell you everything. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

This company is a complete rip off. I paid their application fee of $12.50. Took their assessment and paid $199 for Semaglutide Lozenges on December 4th. I got an email saying that I should expect my RX in a few days. On December 20th I asked for an update since I had received NOTHING. They replied asking for my full name then stopped replying. I sent another email on December 27th asking for an update and they acted like they knew nothing. I emailed them yet AGAIN and not response. Now I have to cancel my card so they don't charge me again. AVOID THIS COMPANY. It's all a scam.

I recently tried to book a service with ShedRx and paid $12 for the application fee. However, after completing the application, I was only provided with a link to start placing an order. They called me once, briefly mentioned that they would pull up my file, and then hung up. Since that call, I’ve been trying to contact them because I want to speak with a doctor to determine which treatment option would be best for me. Unfortunately, when I attempt to schedule an appointment, the earliest availability is six months from now.

In the meantime, I came across this website and noticed several reviews stating that patients never actually spoke with a physician before purchasing medications. Many reviewers mentioned experiencing adverse effects after taking the medications. I’m so relieved that I found these reviews before proceeding with my order. I also don’t want to risk being scammed. This situation raises a concern because I originally found ShedRx through a link on the FSA website. I believe that platforms like the FSA should avoid promoting such questionable services, as it can mislead consumers into trusting providers that may not prioritize patient safety or transparency.

My experience with SHEDRX was horrible. First, they approved me and sent me the medicine without ever consulting with me in person which should be illegal. How can you prescribe something without ever speaking to a patient? Secondly, I ended up in the hospital in Emergency thinking I was dying. They sent me different injection needles than what was in the description video so I thought I had OVER-INJECTED. As soon as I took the medicine, I could feel cold racing through my body. Fearing I had done something wrong because my body started feeling like it was "losing grip on consciousness", I looked at the video and thought I had given myself 100X the amount I was supposed to (because the needles looked different). That in turn sent me into a panic attack and I ended up in the ER on the floor begging for someone to help me because I felt like I was going to pass out, die or throw up.

Finally I went in to see the dr and they calmed me down and assured me I had taken the right amount of medicine, my body was starting to feel a bit better and then finally I recovered over an hour later. What I didn't know, and what they never asked me was "are you prone to low blood sugar". Yes, I am and apparently you shouldn't be taking these meds if you have regular low blood sugar. When I went to go report the issue to the dr (first time talking to the dr. btw) he said "sorry, so what do you want to do now, do you want to keep taking it or not?" and he was done with the conversation. The drs treat you like another number and a checkbox. Avoid this company like the plague. They are just out to get a paycheck regardless. And there is nowhere to write a bad review anywhere online, especially on their website so they only have positive reviews out there.

Avoid at all costs! Very, very scammy. Very hard to cancel - you think you are booking time with a medical provider but nope - you literally get the medication sent straight to you without ANY doctor verifying ANYTHING. So dangerous, and probably illegal. I've had to fight them with complaints to the CA Pharmacy Board to get my money back. They are such a scam. Calling in my journalism friends next. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I have been on semaglutide injections for a year and thought I would give myself a break and try the Lozenges we this company offered. They work complete opposite of what they should do. I did a consult with provider and he suggested stopping or changing dose and increasing what I had to two lozenges instead of one. When next shipment arrived it was for same amount and same quantity. So instead of receiving 30 day supply I received 15 day supply and charged same price. Because they require a two month period before you can cancel they refused to cancel. They could increase the dose along with a $200 dollar increase in cost. I have tried several times to contact them only to get an error message. I wouldn't waste your money or time dealing with this company if you are looking for a weight loss product.

I have had my program for over 6 months. I was provided terms and digitally signed for them before I started. I decided to quit the program. I notified them on 10/18. My next payment wasn’t due until 10/27. The terms I was provided just stated I had to have the plan for 2 months. Evidently, they decided to add a 2 week cancellation notice, which I was never advised. Ironically, they have said this month's shipment will be delayed, but refuse to just cancel me now. Whenever I have contacted them with issues, it’s ALWAYS another department that is responsible. They rarely ship when they say they will. It has been a totally disappointing experience!!
