I always thought that Miracle-Ear might be the best hearing aid, so that’s what I wanted but I have felt different. I thought that I had warranty for three years, but it ran out in November. Now I can’t afford the new warranty they offered me for $300 a year, because my husband passed away, and I am living on one income. So now, one of my hearing aids has quit working, and I'm only wearing one of them. I would not recommend them to anybody.

Miracle-Ear has been very useful. I get to hear and identify the birds since I like to watch them in my backyard. It's the high notes that I don't hear that well unless I have my hearing aids on. Their customer service team is wonderful especially Shaina from the Middletown office, she's lovely. Miracle-Ear is a good product and the follow up is fantastic. It's not like you buy them and then all of a sudden, they don't want to know you. I'm happy for that because every once in a while I need to get in there and tweak the hearing aids a little so I could hear it my best possible way. Furthermore, I had my hearing aids insured by another company. They sent me batteries for the month but the truth is the batteries don't work, they're of lowest quality so I canceled it after a year.

I went to the Miracle-Ear office on Merritt Island. I had seen them driving through the island and I stopped to see them and had my ears tested. The people I’ve dealt with in Florida have been wonderful, but right now my Miracle-Ear is out of service. Up until the time that it quit, I loved them. I've been out of town and that's why I haven't been back down there to get them repaired. I miss them now that I don't have them. By using the Miracle-Ears, I can understand my friends’ conversations. My buddies and I would sit on my front porch, we’d hold conversations with each other, answering what we think they said and our hearing friends would sit there and roar. I’d definitely recommend Miracle-Ear.

If you set it up too high, it makes things worse, but if I bring the tone down, it clears right up and is quite nice. I’m still getting used to the device but I’d recommend Miracle-Ear.

I've used Miracle-Ear Hearing for the first month and then stopped because the batteries were out so quickly, and it was something extra to do. I was going to see them yesterday in Rutland, Vermont but I couldn't go because my car had a problem. They're very good to me and they went through a lot of tests and explained it. I appreciate everything they did to help me. But I'm just wondering whether I really needed it badly. I can hear pretty well without it, so I don't understand why I should spend the $4,000 on it. That's what my concern was. But it is a good equipment. I'm glad I went with them and if they were close by, I probably would go see them more often.

They are larger because of the battery change on it and I don't like them as well as I did the others, but they're still good. I would like them a little smaller because the one I have right now is large enough that it makes my ears sore if I wear it too long, and I'd forget I was even wearing the others. I'm back to the hearing world with my Miracle-Ear's programmable behind the ear model. I have nerve damage because of working in construction and hunting and not wearing ear plugs. I'm 69 now, and so it's all catching up with me, and I got to the point where I could not hear people or I would hear people but I couldn't understand them. Then it got to the point where I missed something somebody would say to me when they were to my side or behind me. But now that I have the hearing aids, I'm aware of the people when they say something to me from any direction without difficulty. Some voices are tough to make sense out of it but I understand people easily when I'm wearing it.

The sales rep we encountered has excellent customer service skills. Having experience with different people who served hearing aids to my parents over the years, I would rate her skill as a diagnostician as one of the best. Having been a caretaker for a mother-in-law who is deaf in one ear and impaired in another and wearing a hearing aid in which I was involved in her care for 6 years, and then my father wore hearing aids for probably 20 years before he passed, and I was involved with him in our home, her level of skill's as good as anybody I've come across in terms of diagnosing and testing. Her customer care skills make you feel comfortable.

I only had one hearing aid for my left ear and thought of replacing it. Miracle-Ear was recommended to me as the best for the hearing loss that I had. We contacted them and the rep was very good. Then, the gentleman who gave me the hearing test suggested a second hearing aid for the right ear telling me that I would hear much better by getting another one rather than just replacing the one I had. He offered it for trial and I was a little leery at first but he was right on. He was very accurate in the description of how it would help me hear better. Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid is covered up on my insurance. I went to Waterbury where they examined me and gave me options. I like the design of the product, that it is comfortable to wear, and that the batteries were readily available. Although it is expensive, I like its lifetime guarantee and I go in for checkups every three months. Since using it, I can hear birds and I can hear my wife a little better now, particularly if we're in the same room - it's difficult to hear anybody when they're talking to me from another room. But what it has impacted primarily is when I'm outside in a convenience store where I have had difficulty understanding people at the counters because I wasn't hearing the higher consonants and intonations; so, that has improved. The Miracle-Ear team at Torrington is very accommodating and thorough, and they address any problem. Overall, it has been a good experience.

My mother had Miracle-Ear, and when I started having hearing problems, I found her aids, put batteries in them, and I started wearing them. The staff at Miracle-Ear could not believe this, because they said, “No, this doesn’t happen. You cannot wear somebody else’s hearing aids.” But I got along fine with them, because apparently, my mother and I had the same ear canal, otherwise the hearing aids would not have fit in my ear. They couldn’t believe it, but I showed them and they saw how it fit into my ear. I got along fine with that pair but later on, I decided I needed my own. I did have my very first pair, but I didn't care for those because when I comb my hair, they come out. So now I have a pair from Miracle-Ear that's small and fits inside my ear, and I'm very pleased with them. It’s the first thing I reach for in the morning so I can hear.

I've worn hearing aids for 20 years and I had one that needs to be fixed. So I took it to Miracle-Ear, but I ended up buying new ones. I started off with an aid that I wear within the ear and I found that the one behind the ear was more comfortable for me so I've always used them. It's a very small hearing aid, and I have a hard molded earpiece that goes in, but this is much better for me rather than the loose ones that I've had all along. Alan, the fellow who worked with me really wanted to get me going in a good sense, and for a while I had to come back a couple of times and he had to readjust it.

I have a very pronounced hearing loss in high frequencies. In fact, there are some frequencies I can't hear at all. But this particular hearing aid has a nice feature that it can take some of the frequencies that I can't hear and they can put that same frequency into something that I can hear. For example, I used to be able to stand right alongside a tea kettle and not hear it at all, but now with this hearing aid, I can. It's not the same frequency but it's one frequency that I can hear on. I'm happy when I get a good general hearing and my brain is trained now that background noise is not eliminated. I hear it but it's just not predominant. Miracle-Ear is not the most expensive, but it's the very best that I've had, and I like the service and dealing with them.

They gave me several options as far as the different types of hearing aids and it was mine and my wife's decision to go ahead and do it. I'm completely satisfied with both of them. I had tried a couple of hearing aids and had a lot of discomfort. They wouldn't work. Miracle-Ear fills the bill. It helps a lot. I've heard little sounds that I hadn't heard in a long time. I went with the basic, the $4,200 one. My interactions with the Miracle-Ear them wasn't very good at the start. When I read the serial number of the first set that I got, it said that they were 6 or 7 years old but they were new hearing aids. In addition, the guy told me that my insurance paid for them 100%. I went back to ask him about 7 or 8 times when I had my hearing aid adjusted and each time, he said I didn't owe anything, my insurance paid for it.

A year and one day after I got them, I got a bill for $4,200. It said my insurance didn't pay anything. I thought for a whole year that my insurance did pay for them. That guy's gone; they got rid of him. I called the supervisor there and I asked him, "Would you look at these and tell me how they are? The serial numbers say that they're approximately 7 years old." He said, "No, there isn't a way that it can happen." I said, "Well, it has. I just wanna give them back since I owe you $4,200." He said, "Let me get with the plan." I said, "No." He said, "How about if we give you a brand new pair, with a brand new date on them?" So they swapped out the old ones for a pair with brand new date which I paid for.

However, there wasn't that much difference in the effectiveness of them. They also didn't know how in the world a 7-year old set slipped through and sold as new. $4,200 for a used set is just tough. The supervisor assured me that they updated them every six months. This last year and a half, I've been good with them. They have called me, made appointments, sent my hearing aid batteries, checked on me 2 or 3 times and sent me a birthday card. Overall, with the rest of the people now, they were very, very courteous and helpful.

I've had some issues with my Miracle-Ear but the people are very nice about taking care of them. I had some wax build-up that affected the hearing aid. I like it but it has its inherent problems too. When you're wearing a hearing aid, you're picking up all of the surrounding noises, so I have difficulty hearing at times because I hear everything besides the persons talking. Generally I have a particularly hard time on the telephone. If I put the phone on speaker, I can hear a little better and people have to talk slower because it just takes time to resonate properly. If I'm watching TV in a room and anybody comes in and starts talking, I can't hear the TV. It's making so much noise. Sometimes I'm better off to shut the hearing aids and use the headphones for the TV. I also find it difficult sometimes to go into a restaurant to eat because of all the background noises.

I bought them in Massachusetts but I was in Florida and went to the outlet there and they were extremely nice with me like I was their own customer. They cleaned them on a couple of occasions. Then I got back up here and had a couple of services. After this last visit, the person from Miracle-Ear cleaned and redid them, and they're working super. Without them, I can't hear. The service is great and everything they do is well.

The store on Cooper Street in Arlington had just put new rechargeable batteries in my Miracle-Ear hearing aid. I've talked about my Miracle-Ear hearing aid with a number of people. I have long hair so people don't really notice them much. I found out about Miracle-Ear Hearing 10 years ago. It impacted my life brilliantly. I went with the one which tucks behind the ear and has an invisible narrow tube coming down to the lid which goes into the ear orifice. It's got adjust volumes and channels to it. It's on the ear piece as well as with the remote. I chose this model because it was the least fussy and it seemed right. The first interaction that I had with sales and customer service representative was absolutely brilliant.

Then there was a brief interval with a kid who was absolutely super, absolutely charming, and delighted everyone. However, he procured me a model which had not got (as it should have done) the remote included with it, and he had to do an expensive backup order to obtain a remote which I had to pay. And his testing of the ear wasn't as good as the present man who is very good. I've seen 3 or 4 Miracle-Ear people. I've been satisfied at the beginning and extremely satisfied at present.

Miracle-Ear gave me an appointment for the next day, and I went in and lo and behold I was at fault. I had lost 40% in one ear and 25 in the other. I came out of there and my husband was saying on the way, "You know this is just to get you there and now I want you to buy hearing aids". I said, "I'm not coming out of there with hearing aids. I put it in my ear and there's a little wire and it goes to the back of the ear. The audiologist thought that was the best model for me. I have nothing negative to say about it. They take care of me very well. I send them a payment every once in a while and everybody's happy. I got it in Auburn, Maine. It's a local couple that's running the store down there and they treat me with dignity and respect, and do as much as they can with their computer.

My hearing is better than it was without it. I can't hear good at the movies, in a crowded restaurant, a group of people. I don't hear with background noise and at the racetrack, etc. It doesn't go back to what it was through the years and the damage that you have in your ears is not recovered by a mechanical device that you shove in your ear every day. The price just seems way higher than all others in the market. Other than that, I like the care, the people, and the way it works as it does what it's supposed to.

The man that I had dealt with said he had to pay out of pocket for them, stating that I would be responsible for paying him back. Nowhere on the purchase agreement does it state that. Am I responsible?

Ear doctor suggested I not get a sound amplifier as it will only amplify the distorted weak hearing that suddenly occurred. So I paid thousands to get the best Miracle Ear available. The increase in hearing was minimal and what it does amplify is the distorted sound. When I went back and had it adjusted, it only worked for a short time. This model is suppose to be AGC (automatic gain control). It does not. And if it supposed to be automatic, then why does it need adjusting at their location and why is there an adjustment button on it? I am very sorry I bought this and wish I had tried a cheap sound amplifier first which I still might try. I bought it under a 1 year payment plan at no interest. I am paying monthly. Maybe I will stop until I get one that works.

My boyfriend has had permanent hearing loss since the age of 2, he is now 42. When we went into the local office in Orlando and spoke with Heidi, we gave her all of his medical information. After completing the testing, her suggestion was to purchase a particular model. This is suppose to be her area of expertise, so we waited until we could pay the $3,500 and ordered what she suggested. We paid and begin this horrible nightmare. We would go for adjustments and within minutes of leaving the office, those adjustments were "lost". Several visits and failed attempts, we were referred to go see an ENT, Heidi was absolutely convinced that the patient had some inner ear infection! So we paid money to see the ENT. It's was no surprise to find out he had no infection. It was additionally verified by the ENT his type of hearing loss and suggested demoing aids to find one that worked.

Furthermore, informing us the aid we had was defective. What a marvelous idea, one not suggested by Miracle Ear. Our ENT office did not have a model that worked for him, which she then referred us to a few other companies. Imagine someone acknowledging we can't help you but understood the importance of finding the "right" product to work! This was NEVER Miracle Ears reputation. After all, isn't that the ultimate goal to be able to buy an aid that works? Miracle Ear replaced this aid with the same model. Again multitude adjustments later, the aid still didn't work. At this point we asked for a refund. At this point we were further insulted by being told we had not invested our money into the correct product! Remember now we BOUGHT what we were told would work for him. We didn't buy a lower grade model. They didn't want to send us a refund so they upgraded us to their "best" model.

Within the 1st month, the aid stopped working TWICE! During this time we are still going through adjustments. We asked for a refund and we were advised we could get this model to work with adjustments. During our adjustment period we met at a different office. We were then informed that it would not work without a secondary aid. Please now cough up another $3,500! At this point we attempted to contact the office we had ordered from. We are now in the holiday season and having difficulties getting through. Heidi then informs us BOTH her and her boss believe 1 aid would still work.

At this time I am beginning research. The conclusion is NO ONE that has ALWAYS had to use 2 aids could EVER have just 1 work. So what kind of professionals could we be dealing with? We demanded our money back so we could ultimately buy a product that would work for us. Heidi refused to inform us if we could have a refund. She promised to get back to us the next day. She NEVER called us back. I waited 4 days before I called her. When she returned my call later that day we were informed that not only were they denying us a refund but her boss wanted to meet with us. This appointment would have to wait 2 weeks before he would make the trip to see us. All THOSE adjustments pushed us back their 30 day refund window.

However we were within the 90 day manufacture warranty, instead of them refunding our money and dealing directly with the company they refused. They were willing to keep adjusting the aid, with the knowledge that this aid would never work. We even asked to demo a duplicate aid, allowing us to see if the secondary aid would give us success. After all, we are becoming desperate to find a solution so that he can just hear! I could not believe they wanted another $3,500 up front with NO GUARANTEE the secondary aid would be our solution. There is no way I am handing out more money with no knowledge we would have a solution. So we could then be out $7,000 and have no working aids and get no refund on the second monies issued?

So I then began to dispute the portion put on a credit card. Miracle Ears comment was they were willing to work with us. Their solution is still to keep adjusting. Why continue to go through adjustments to further frustrate ourselves. NO AMOUNT OF ADJUSTMENTS WILL MAKE THIS AID WORK! I can't believe their goal isn't to ensure we can go somewhere that actually works for us. Their company’s reputation isn't about improving lives but how much money can they make! This type of mentality is a disgrace when you are dealing with people’s livelihoods and quality of life. We are waiting to finally hear from Miracle Ears corporate office so they can hopefully do the right thing by allowing us to afford to go somewhere else. The sad thing is we paid completely out of pocket and without this refund he will have to most likely go a year longer without an aid. Thank you Miracle Ear for believing our lives should be suffer to this extent.

The amazing news is we have found a local company that demos models with amazing customer service. This company has demoed us 2 aids that will work! This last month has been so amazing being able to have normal conversations. We just have to come up with the cash again! This company is AHT located in Sanford, Florida phone number 407-792-3048. Feel free to say the referral is from Robert **. I believe in recognizing great customer service is important.

I think I have set some kind of record for maintenance and repairs at the Sears Miracle Ear in Cerritos, CA. Since I purchased two Miracle Ear CIV aids for $3600 in November 2011, they have been repaired a total of 22 times EACH with an average wait time of 7-10 days per repair. They would function okay for about a month, then slowly begin to die. Each time they came back from service, they were great... for another month or so. Then they would start dying again.

The local Miracle Ear told me they would have to have "higher-ups" handle any further action. I took the matter into my own hands. After tracking down the corporate customer service department in Minnesota and refusing to stop calling until I got some satisfaction, I have received nothing other than a supposed "VIP" service in regards to any further service necessary. Big deal. Instead of waiting up to 10 days for repair, I "only" have to wait 5 days. They did offer to completely replace the entire inner workings of both hearing aids at no cost. Fine.

About a week later, I got them back and again, they worked fine. (I have no clue what they did to them. I don't think anybody knows what they do after they are sent to the service department.) Guess what? About a month later... that's right, they began to slowly lose their sound...again! This time they told me it was my fault, and actually told me that every single repair was my fault. Why? Ear wax was constantly clogging the insides of the aids over a period of several weeks. They offered to give me ear wax guards (very tiny circular rubber rings that fit into the tiny microphone hole in each aid) and cross the fingers that this helped. Well, I'm happy to say, that did the trick.

It's been over a month, way over, and so far, so good. After all these months, waiting, service calls, repairs, phone calls, trips to Miracle Ear, **, whining, etc., finally, somebody finally figured it out. I have to admit that I've gone from very upset and angry at Miracle Ear to relatively calm and somewhat satisfied. I strongly urge anyone considering Miracle Ear aids to buy the service contract at the beginning. Even with all the problems, I've never had to pay a dime extra for any of the 44 service orders. The staff have been great, very professional and helpful. Would I buy there again? No. I'd go to Costco. Better products and lower prices. Oh well, live and learn...

I went to Miracle Ear and the prices seemed way too expensive, but I was able to negotiate a "savings" of $500 for the lowest quality devices. They do not stock any hearing aids, so I had to wait. After a week of waiting I searched out an independent audiologist.

Bottom line: Better exam, more thorough hearing test AND a hearing aid with a good warranty and service agreement and 24 channels versus 6 for the Miracle Ear for $1000 LESS. The devices I ordered arrived in two days. The brand I bought is irrelevant because there are several TOP RATED brands. Beltone and Miracle Ear have poor ratings.

They claim they are only hearing aide distributors and have no knowledge of any tools needed for the hard of hearing and if you ask for help, they get mad and upset with you and say over and over, "We sell hearing aides, clean, and adjust but nothing more and have no knowledge." The receptionist was rude and yelled at me for asking for help.

I bought a new hearing aid Last year about this time and I have had nothing but problems with it. It has been replaced three times because it falls apart and every time I tell the woman at the Sears mall in Clearwater, she states I can't do any thing about it, that I must keep dealing with Miracle Ear no matter what goes wrong!!! I am very unhappy with Miracle Ear Hearing Aid. I have one in the other ear and I have never had a problem with it so I know there is something wrong with the one I have from you and I want my money back so that I can get one that doesn't break every other month!!!!! The one that you sold me is a piece of junk and must be replaced every other month so I ask you to check this out!!!

After reading so many poor reviews about Miracle Ear Hearing Aids, I was compelled to share my positive experience. I purchased behind-the-ear hearing aids for both ears a few months ago. I also bought a remote that allowed me to use my cell phone Bluetooth to answer and talk on the phone and listen to wireless iTunes, Pandora, etc. They are very small and they have been undetected by people who would tell me if they noticed them. They work flawlessly and have really enhanced the quality of my life. I can now hear well for the first time in a number of years, even in high noise environments, such as restaurants. My experience with the local Miracle Ear representative was also very positive. Eric ** here in Roseville, CA was very professional and pleasant and set up my hearing aids with great skill. I have met with him in three weekly appointments where he made necessary adjustments to accommodate my hearing needs and to answer any questions I had.

I am in no way affiliated with Miracle Ear. I'm just very happy with my experience.

Got hearing aids that cost $5,618,00 and worn less than 3 hours. Ears swell up. Now I understand that if he didn't just like them, they would keep $300.00 ($150.00 each aid). But he couldn't wear them. They wanted to try out other ones. He didn't want to chance that. But to keep someone's $300.00, that's just wrong. I do agree with the others. It's all about the money. This office is in Hanover, PA. I cancelled the check. All they had was $618.95 ($18.95 was S&H). She gave back $300.00 of that. I think that we should have gotten a full refund. Well, I hope this helps others. BEWARE before you AGREE.

I have used Miracle Ear for a number of years and basically had very little problems. I, too, have experienced sporadic chirping for no apparent reason and they could never figure out what caused it because, of course, it never happened when I needed it to. My complaint at this time is that I purchased new aids and was told my insurance company was going to pay all but a very minimal amount. Once we realized that there was a mistake on the part of the insurance company, I called ME corporate describing what had happened and told them I needed to talk to someone that would authorize my returning the aids in the event my insurance did not come through. It was 5 days past the 30-day allowance. I went through all the details, and afterwards was told someone else would have to call me back. NO CALL. I waited a few more days and went through the whole situation again and was given the same response. AGAIN, NO CALL. I really held Miracle Ear in high regards until this. They couldn't even give me the courtesy of a return call even if the outcome would have been that I couldn't return them. Turns out I did not need to return them, but after reading these blogs and my situation, I am starting to regret giving them my business! I would NOT recommend them from now on.

I went through a free 6-month trial with Miracle Ear. They fitted me with hearing aids that you had to lubricate and then squeeze them into the ear canal. I believe they wanted me to pay for junk hearing aids that nobody else wanted. When I told him that I was not going to buy hearing aids that were very uncomfortable to wear, he then brought out his top-of-the-line hearing aids and tried to convince me to buy those. Because of hearing of others not happy with Miracle Ear, I wouldn't buy his better hearing aids either. Once they get your money, I don't think they care about you...

I have had numerous problems with my hearing aids... If they do work, it only lasts a few days. I have been back and back and get the runaround and no results. I am so sorry I ever bought from them without first checking with Consumer Reports or BBB, as it is obvious I am not alone. My friend bought hearing aids from Costco at less than half of what I paid and they work like a charm... plus service is available in their stores. The first office I dealt with was at Eden Prairie Sears store. The original person I worked with was very good but she, like others, didn't stay long. They closed that office (without notice) and there was no office for a period of time.

They finally opened another office and I have been there several times, but still the hearing aids do not work properly. The person working there says part of the problem is the computer is so old that it doesn't work properly so that prevents her being able to fix them. They don't always answer the phone so you have to leave a message. It is rare they call you back. When confronted, it is always "We were just getting your file to call you" - whatever good the file will do over the phone! I have requested an appointment with someone from their factory and finally have one, but the ONLY time available was Friday at 4:00. I asked if possible to do it earlier and the answer was NO... They were probably hoping if they scheduled it late enough on a Friday, that we would cancel.

I have no faith in them. Wish I could get my money back and go elsewhere. My only consolation is that I have told everyone I know that is considering getting a hearing aid not to go to Miracle Ear... and I will continue to do so. They are simply horrible and their service is totally unacceptable.

I purchased my hearing aids in November 2012. I thought I would have a miracle with the aids. Not so. They go from just right to loud or to low. I went back for adjustments in 12/2012, 01/2013, 02/2013 and 03/2013. In March I made an appointment for June 6, 2013. The right aid is now dead. I put them in the charging stand one night and the next morning the right aid would not come on. Several times I thought the right aid had gone dead, but I would start to remove it and the sound came back. They would chirp all the time when there's no loud noise. If I had the choice to buy hearing aids again, I would not choose Miracle Ear. Over $5,500.00 totally overpriced. That was with a discount of buy one and 1/2 on the second. I guess I was hoping for more than they can produce.

My mother-in-law is 84 and lives on a very low income. She needed a hearing aid and saw an ad for free hearing test at Sears in Marion, Ohio. When she found out how much they cost, she told them she couldn't afford it. They then talked her into getting a Sears credit card with so-called reward system. And if it was paid for by a certain time, she would receive discounts. There were no rewards, no discounts and a lot of interest charges. Three days ago, she dropped her hearing aid and ran over it with her power chair. It broke into a million pieces. She called the store and the lady said, "Oh well, bring it in and we will help you."

She got to the store and the lady told her she could get a new one for 1,000 plus dollars or repair that one for $500. Some warranty. I don't believe Sears or The Miracle Ear should be aloud to take advantage of our seniors or anyone else. She just paid 1800 plus dollars for this one and has trouble with it ever since she has had it with not being able to hear. Their repairs have not helped.

After 14-15 months with new hearing devices (two I've had problems), one quit completely and could not be repaired. John ** sent the device back to Miracle Ear. I got it back 2 weeks later. Within 4 weeks, I had trouble with both hearing devices. Again, John ** sent them back. Within 2 weeks, I had 2 new devices or rebuilt. Within 24 hours, the right aid fell apart on the back where the tube sits. I am scheduled to see John ** tomorrow, May 21st. For spending nearly $5,000.00, I feel I should get at least a year without constantly running back with defective hearing devices. After my visit tomorrow, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

On January 3, 2013, my mother went with an elderly friend of hers to Miracle Ear (her friend has hearing aids through them) in Carlisle, PA. During the course of the visit, my mother told them she did not think her hearing aids were working and would they look at them. We had purchased her hearing aids in September of 2008 from another hearing aid store in Carlisle, PA (which later moved to Chambersburg, PA). The Miracle Ear representative told her there was something wrong with both hearing aids, and she would have to take them back to where she purchased them. She “supposedly” said she didn't want to drive to Chambersburg so the representative proceeded to show her the Miracle Ear hearing aids.

After he showed her what they had, the representative said he showed her how much her payments would be and she said she could afford $158 a month. She got home and told us she bought new hearing aids. We asked how much she paid. She said the paper they gave her said $669, but she needed $300 to pick them up. The day after she picked them up, we were at her apartment and asked to see the paperwork. When we looked at the paperwork, we found out these hearing aids were actually $6,690. Like I said, she gave them $300 but the balance was being financed. She had no paperwork showing how much her monthly payments were going to be, how many years they were being financed, or how much the interest rate was going to be.

After looking at the paper, we did see they could be returned within 30 days but she would lose her $300. Well $300 is a lot of money for my mother because she lives in a low-income apartment for seniors. These hearing aids had to go back because she could not afford them, and we were sure there was nothing wrong with her old ones. I made the mistake of calling and telling Miracle Ear we were returning the hearing aids because they saw an elderly person coming and took advantage of her. They were on the defensive immediately. The representative would not talk to me on the phone, nor would he return my call. The first time I went to the office, they told me he was not in but they expected him shortly. I waited and then they said he would not be back, but he would talk to me on the phone.

I am 99% sure he was in the back of the building but would not come out. He said she had a scheduled appointment, which was 3 days later, and I had to come back then. In the meantime, we did get the payment book and found out the total cost of these hearing aids with interest would be $9,844. When I went back 3 days later, I was still really upset and told him my mother did not know what she was signing and that she thought she was only paying $699 for these hearings aids. He said he did not do anything wrong because my mother knew exactly what she was doing and what she was signing, and that I did not know what I was talking about.

My mother does not even know how to write a check. When you talk to her, she seems like she knows what she is doing but does not fully understand when it comes to finances and contracts (she only went to 8th grade). He told me he has a lot of people over 100 years old coming in alone to purchase hearing aids, and they know what they are doing. Now I ask you, how many people over 100 years old are driving the streets of Carlisle, PA? We did return the hearing aids and lost $300. I also took her to K & K Hearing Associates in Chambersburg where we purchased her original hearing aids and found out that the only thing that needed to be done was to have them cleaned.

I paid $5,000 for a set of aids a little over two years ago. Since then I have had 5 replaced and 3 repaired under warranty. I got the latest aid back 2 days ago and it just quit. I have spent a lot of money driving to and from aid centers ran by private contractors and done without the aids for weeks while they were sent to shops for repair. One of the contractors was insulting and did not want to bother with warranty work. Another said I was ripped off when I paid $5,000 for them in the first place. I have had it and wish to sue the company. I do not care that they are honoring the warranty when my aids are always in the shop and spending time and money running back and forth 60 miles to pick them up. Miracle Aid is junk. Avoid them.
