I went to the gym and the owner accuse me of inappropriate touching just by shaking it somebody’s hand while greeting them as well as giving somebody their phone while they were walked while they were taking up two machines. This is slander. This manager by the name of Matt is inappropriate and the accusations are inappropriate. I will sue him to the fullest extent of the law. He is incapable of running and managing the gym. The gym is dirty. It hasn’t been clean continuously. The only time I clean is once a Week. OK there’s an adequate systems. They don’t dust the weights. They don’t respect people that use the machines. None of the weights are re-rack or put away. Nothing is enforced in place. One of the bathrooms lock is broken.

This is a nasty gym and can be run better. I could run it. It’s 60 times better than he can. He’s incompetent and somebody needs to actually addressed his Matthew S, accusations of accusing members of slamming down weight when doing deadlifts, which is not true to break the floor. He treats his staff like crap. He should be fired.

The worst gym experience I've ever had. Our term is up and they still won't let us out, and they seem to have fudged the dates in their system to their benefit. Both the payment processors, ABC Fitness and the local club have stopped taking my calls, and the regional manager didn't even look into the issue and won't respond to my emails. I have consulted an attorney and plan to sue.

Got a membership and started a training program in September. Was NOT made aware that the training program was a 12-month contract. I had to dig through my emails to find the paperwork for this contract, which I was never showed by the way upon "signing". The signatures for the cancellation terms which requires you to pay for the remaining half of the contract were waived without my consent. I was never showed these terms that had to be signed on. I wasn't even aware that there was a contract until I tried to cancel.

My initial impression was at the program was paid by weekly and could be canceled anytime. There was and I repeat NOT ONE Time that I was told or even presented with paperwork that I was locked into a contract until going to cancel and already being trapped in the contract. Anytime Fitness will refund me the $480 that I've been charged over the last 2 weeks without being properly informed. I will NOT be doing this buy out garbage to get out of the contract that once again I did not even know I was in until going to cancel. I am going to be canceling my membership as well due to the dishonest used car dealership-like tactics that got me into this.

If this is not made right I will be taking legal action. Paperwork that I was not even given the opportunity to review was signed without my consent which I'm pretty sure is grounds for forgery. The training sessions were great. I really hate to have to write review like this. But this is just unacceptable. And I will take every avenue possible to make this right.

This place is often used just for the showers, especially at night. If you don't mind the smell of sharing confined space with homeless people while working out, this is the gym for you. The equipment is ok, but old. The space is big, but the safety is not great. Also twice the price compared to local gyms and really poor customer behaviours.

I was a member of Anytime Fitness for a year, paid all my fees and ended my membership, until everything became a nightmare. I checked my credit card statement and for a month, I was charged $50 (a month membership fee) without my consent, after I ended my contract with the gym. Very confused, I got a hold of my credit card customer service. They informed me, Anytime Fitness created a virtual token which means they can charge my credit card, even if my credit card is new and the gym doesn't know about it. I called Capital One and asked to end my contract with the gym. After ((4)) new credit cards without the gym knowing of them, they STILL charged my card. Extremely frustrated and frankly very pissed off, I tried to get a hold of the gym by phone number and e-mail several times with no response. I wanted a refund for payments I did not authorize and I was stuck.

Finally, I got a hold of my credit card company and was transferred to a senior executive financial specialist. I explained my situation and claimed fraud again on Anytime Fitness. This time I (cancelled), my membership and wanted a refund for my payments I didn't authorize. I did get them and he did help me. I guessing Anytime Fitness finally got the message that I wanted to (cancel) my membership. As of today, I am not charged with any payments from the gym; thank God!

To avoid a situation like this (and you could get into one), AVOID ANYTIME FITNESS!!! They charge your bank account without your authorization, they create a virtual token without you knowing about it, and they don't know how to pick up a phone or respond to emails. They are a very greedy, unprofessional, terrible, and piss poor company wanting your money, and are behind the far back door extremely sneaky getting it. To everyone who made it this far and I hope you did, AVOID ANYTIME FITNESS AT ALL COST!!!!

Beware! This company has a lot of small print.... and a very long contract that they are hoping you don't read in its entirety. Let me help you .... Don't be in a rush to sign like we were...! The representative won't be upfront about the contract .... They leave little tidbits out such as a $54 gym enhancement fee every 6 months added to your payments. Let me explain.... I had a car wreck which led to surgery. I am unable to workout due to an injury. I went to the gym twice before I was told I needed surgery .... I emailed them to cancel after explaining that I would need surgery.

According to their contract: "You must be dead or permanently disabled to cancel." Strange.... but here is where you realize this gym is NOT the place for you. There's other gyms that gives more bang for your buck. You must cancel 30 days in advance AND the penalty is 50% of what you owe or $300 whichever is greater. From conception the fees were $38.49 biweekly @39 weeks. Total for 39 weeks beginning in August would be $1501.00 total.... TWO months into the contract I'm told my balance is over $1500 🤣. MORE than the ORIGINAL balance although they received all payments up to date. ...

Wait for it.... They are charging two $54 fees for gym enhancement.... which somehow adds up to $181.49.. for a gym I WON'T be using AFTER I cancel the contract. So why am I being charged for that again? For the $80 a month.... THIS GYM IS TINY. Parking is a joke. Equipment is jammed atop equipment.... Their toilet/shower combination is ridiculously uncomfortable.... No lockers just cubby holes. Every bit of equipment is sitting flush to the equipment next to it. Cross training ability is a joke here since there's ONE of every machine except treadmills and elliptical.... They claim peak hours are in the evening but the space is so small it ALWAYS feels crowded!

Other places are a lot cheaper! Larger! And offer more for your money.... Plus the contracts are not sketchy with interchangeable interpretations. Nowhere does the contract speak of paying gym enhancement fees to cancel. I mean why would I pay to enhance a gym that I'm no longer a member of? Attempting to charge FUTURE DUES AND THE TOTAL BALANCE left? Basically charging me TWICE because they wanted a 30 day notice to cancel... which was originally given Sept 6th. I can't speak for other anytime gyms but this particular one is not worth the trouble or money they charge.... God forbid you get injured and are unable to workout out....

I was a loyal member of Anytime Fitness Washington for over 10 years and even stayed on during COVID to help support them so they wouldn’t go out of business. When I finally needed to cancel, the experience was terrible. They absolutely would not work with me unless I came in person during business hours. That’s impossible for me—my husband is a quadriplegic, and between work and his care, I can’t just drop everything to come in when they demand it.

It’s ironic—I joined this gym because it’s supposed to be a 24-hour facility that fits busy and unusual schedules. Yet when it comes to canceling, they don’t allow the same flexibility. For a place that promotes convenience and accessibility, their customer service was anything but. After a decade of loyalty, I was treated with zero understanding. Total BS. Horrible customer service and contacting Better business bureau.

Moved into the area looking for a gym, thought I would give Anytime Fitness a try. A lady we will call her Mrs M told me they had 2 options one with a contract and the other without. I told her I was not looking for a contract just something I could do month to month. She said it would be around 35.00 per month but that there was a 40 dollar sign up fee. She said she can waive the fee if I wrote a good review. Which, she had me do right on the spot. I thought 35 a month for a gym with no pool no sauna no activities just free weights and cardio machines was an ok deal. Besides I didn't need much. Come to find out after a month of being there she was charging me around 35.00 every 2 weeks. So I go in to cancel since this was not what we agreed. Now all of a sudden she says that im late 34.00 something and that she cannot cancel and that I signed a contract, when this is the opposite of what I agreed to.

At the time I thought I was putting my banking info on file for automatic payments and giving authorization for it. Creating an account and doing a Google review for her. Now, she says that I signed a contract and is trying to lock me into something I did not agree to. And saying that it will be sent to collections for 35.00. Do yourself a favor, do Not Use this company. You are better off somewhere else. I know times are hard, but lying to people to get customers is just plain wrong. Not to mention I only used the place 4 times in a month. Worst decision I made was trusting her. Much better gyms out there, with way better equipment. And people that don't take advantage of you. What started off as a simple and easy process, ended up horrible and hurting me for years to come. Let's do better people. You really take advantage of people for 35.00? Wow! Talk about a bait and switch.

I am filing a formal complaint regarding the Bayshore, FL Anytime Fitness location. On multiple visits, the facility has had severe water damage and a strong, persistent odor consistent with mold or standing water. The smell has been so strong that it was difficult to work out, raising serious concerns about indoor air quality and overall sanitation.

After reporting these conditions through normal channels, employees at this location used badge scan records to identify me and then aggressively confronted me in person, telling me to stop complaining because it “made them look bad.” The employee immediately used profanity, was visibly agitated, and behaved in a manner that was both intimidating and unprofessional. While I can understand the human element behind frustration, it is entirely unacceptable to direct that behavior toward a paying member—especially from someone who has been at the gym only a short time—when I have been a member in good standing for four years. This amplified the insult and further eroded trust. The public and paying members deserve a safe, sanitary environment and the ability to raise legitimate health concerns without fear of retaliation or harassment.

Horrible trying to cancel a membership for our daughter who was in Billings, MT attending college. She explained that she would not be there for a full year since her college semester ended earlier and they said she could cancel it if there was not another Anytime Fitness within 30 miles of her permanent address, which is the case. After two years they will not cancel the membership and have put our daughter in to collections so her credit is affected negatively. The only feature of anytime fitness that may make it a preference over other gyms is that it is open 24/7. Cleanliness: Their locations, while not dirty, tend to be grungy feeling. Equipment: The equipment is okay, nothing special, similar to what you should expect at most gyms. Cost: Average - high, if you are willing to lock into a contract you can knock a few bucks off. Even then, the bi-weekly billing makes them more expensive than any other gym in town if you were to take advantage of their similar deals.

Customer service experience: not good - inconsistent - untrained help staff: We called to cancel my son's membership. Rather than pay the lump sum fees remaining in his contract, we asked for the payments to continue and just not renew. We followed up a few months later, after the renewal date, because we were still being charged. The rep we spoke to said they couldn't do anything for us and that we'd have to go speak to our local rep at the gym. They continued to charge the bi-weekly fee during this entire time period, no rep made mention of a cancellation form though they did say that we could cancel via the portal (they didn't indicate the necessity to do so, and in order to do so we would have to pay-out all the fees accumulated since the renewal date, which was not fair to us since they had failed to cancel the renewal).

When we spoke to the on-site rep, they said if we had truly requested a stop on the renewal than we would have received a cancellation form to complete. Since we couldn't show that we had received a cancellation form; it had been more than six months since our initial conversation with support (they only save call transcripts for six months), and the support notes from the call didn't indicate that we'd requested a stop on the renewal, that we still had to pay all the accumulated fees.

They couldn't even find the 2nd call we'd made to follow up, which would have been with-in the 6- month transcript window. They ran me around asking which support number(s) I'd called. I provided them with both; one form the email they sent my son; the other the first number that shows up in a Google search; neither were support numbers they recognized. Overall: Unless you absolutely need a 24/7 gym and/or there's some other reason why an Anytime Fitness facility is significantly more convenient for you lifestyle, I'd avoid them. In our area they are kind of like the "trailer park" of gyms, but they are the only chain-gym that's open 24/7 in our community.

I’ve never been a member of Anytime Fitness, so I wasn’t sure how they operated. I did some research online and found some reviews (both negative and positive) and general info, so I decided to check them out. A couple of days ago, I tried calling multiple times—no answer. I figured I’d go in person, but when I showed up around 10 a.m., no one answered the door.

Still willing to give them a chance as there's nothing else around, I scheduled a tour yesterday for 10:30 a.m. today, it was confirmed with someone named Hannah. I arrived early at 10:25 and waited by the front door. 10:30 came and went—no one showed up. I waited another 5 minutes. Still nothing. I called twice, no answer. I replied to their confirmation email saying I was there—no response. I even sent a text—again, no response.

At this point, I was beyond frustrated. What’s the point of scheduling a visit if no one’s going to be there or even communicate? It felt like my time meant nothing to them. I left and ended up checking out EPIC down the street instead. Much better experience. Honestly, I’m glad EOS is opening nearby—they’re the gym I used to go to and Crunch which I’ve been a long-time member of. If you’re thinking about joining Anytime Fitness, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Your time and money deserve better. Anytime Fitness is a complete waste of time!

I cancelled my membership back in February of 2025 due to having a second baby and not being able to get to the gym. I went to the location I always workout at, cancelled, signed an agreement and was told I had a month to use the facility. Fast forward to April of 2025, I noticed there were still charges coming out of our account for the membership. I attempted to call multiple times, and with no response I had to hire a babysitter to physically go there and talk to someone. During that meeting, the staff told me they had no idea why I was still being charged and sometimes this happens with the accounts system they use, they would call and get it fixed. This staff member also took a phone call and terminated someone's contract at no cost and said they would handle it. That was on a Friday.

The following Monday, I receive a call from a different anytime fitness location stating that they were my "home" gym and I needed to cancel through them, but there was still time left on my contract. I explained how that was never once told to me, and I thought the membership was cancelled months ago. This staff member then told me even though I signed a termination agreement at the other location, they have no idea what goes on between locations and basically it meant nothing. Mind you, my "home" location was closed for months due to a pipe bursting and equipment being replaced, so the majority of my membership I couldn't even use that location.

I was told to write an email, expressing what happened and my concerns. I wanted my money refunded from the time the termination agreement was signed, and to not be charged anymore. I sent that email on April 21, 2025. It is now June 30, 2025 and I have not heard a response back. We are still being charged. Absolutely do not recommend. - Bathroom being locked for hours.
    - Rugs are very dirty.
    - Poor air flow, very stuffy.
    - The floor fans they had are no longer there.
    - Smells musty.
    - Only 2 recumbent bikes, and one is broken.
    - Billing errors and made up fees, late fee charged when I had money available in auto pay account. Double billed me on more than one occasion.

    - The place feels depressing and gross.

I've been a member since 2017, and I pay for my son's membership. We're both not happy, and I'm buying home gym equipment.
