Doctor was very short, rushed, dismissive & didn’t feel heard. Even though I was prescribed medicine, I was expecting feedback. Reassurance, anything. It was 10 minutes long, when it was supposed to be 45.

The Doctor I saw was extremely knowledgeable, kept me focused throughout the appointment and treated my diagnosis with humanity and understood the destabilization I have been going through after not being able to obtain care and treatment from my primary psychiatrist for over a year. Within two days I am now back on my medication and feel hopeful about being able to handle the overwhelm that has paralyzed me this last year while untreated. Highly professional, thorough evaluation. It was a relief to finally find help. I can’t express how grateful I am for reaching out and getting the care I deserve. If I could rate this less than one star I would. There are so many women out there who have been dismissed, overlooked, and made to feel crazy for years and years. Get your "doctors" up to speed with the current research and don't say that you offer medication management when I'm just going to waste time, money and my own mental health on someone who is going to gaslight me.

Doctor arrived on Zoom late and came to a diagnosis decision in about 6 minutes. The extremely brief session was cold and clinical. The doctor asked a few surface questions and spouted acronyms that a lay person wouldn’t know. Such a flippant/disrespectful approach to people’s mental health and their lives.

My experience with Dr. ** was essentially perfect. He listened to everything I had to say, offered his own input, and agreed to prescribe me **. The problem I ran into was with the pharmacy refusing to fill the prescription because I met with the provider via telehealth. I live in Texas, I don’t know what other people’s experiences were.

This man had zero concern for what I needed. I told him I had already been on this medication and it made no difference, even after telling him my last doctor just kept trying to up my dose of another drug. No empathy, zero knowledge of women and their struggles…he needs more training in empathy, period. Save your money, don’t spend on this Groupon doctor.

My experience so far has been mostly positive. I was laid off from my job, and forced to move out-of-state. I already had an ADHD diagnosis, so I booked an appointment to establish care in my new state. Met with the doctor within a couple of days of booking, I explained I already had a diagnosis, he understood my case, and I was able to pick up my prescription without any hassle.
However, I do have an issue. I am not sure if the issue stems from the way their partner, Receptive Health, functions or if it stems from ADHD Advisor itself. But the process surrounding the "packages" and the "credits" is utterly and ridiculously confusing. For my initial appointment to establish care, I bought the "Diagnosis + Medication Management 102" package, which came with 2 credits, one for a 30-minute main appointment, and one for a 15-minute follow-up appointment.
I used the main credit for the initial appointment. The follow-up credit remains in my portal, and I am going to be charged for another "Medication Management" package, which comes with 2 credits.... There is nothing in the FAQ about the packages or the credits, what kind appointments the credits are for, or what they can and can't be used for, or when which package needs to be bought or for what!!!! And I think they could EASILY fix this issue for their users by supplying some basic clarification on the main website, or adding a process flow chart page or something like that. I reached out to support, and they responded promptly, but they did not REALLY answer the question. So I remain confused. Will update when I get a resolution. (If I can update, TBD.)

I thought the LMSW I spoke to was great. I also thought that Receptive Health would be able to prescribe ADHD meds (they cannot). It seems a bit of a high cost for an evaluation which could have probably been done with my primary.

My meeting was great. The only issue was that Dr. ** wasn’t able to prescribe the medication I wanted because of its classification. I was made aware of this in a last-minute communication prior to my appointment. I went ahead with it, but felt it should have been clear when I was committing to the appointment.

I had an extremely disturbing call with Karen **. I honestly am still in shock. I decided to put her on speaker phone at one point because she was so inappropriate. I wanted my husband to hear. She started by calling me 4 min early, saying we didn't have enough time to get everything done in 15 min and she needed more time. I told her I'd be happy to accommodate this, but I needed to place her on a brief hold to wrap up my other meeting since she was calling me early. We started the call a couple minutes early. She immediately berated my Psychiatrist without even knowing them or me saying a word about them. She just kept saying "they are trying to get out of the work and not deal with meds so they are pushing you off on other people."
My Psychiatrist has met with me twice and has been extremely thorough and helpful. She gave me referrals for ADHD and neuropsych testing to really make sure ADHD was diagnosed properly. They all had extremely long waitlists or no availability, so I thought I would try this service out. It honestly felt like Karen was yelling at me and my psychiatrist. I tried to address early in the phone call that I was uncomfortable and she kept interrupting/talking over me and just saying "well we don't have a lot of time so let's get this done".
Throughout nearly every question, it felt strongly like Karen was trying to downplay or talk me out of my symptoms. She made a lot of generalizations about ADHD and seemed to be expressing her opinion and emotions about it constantly, despite telling me that we didn't have enough time to get through the questions. I can't tell you how many times she said we "didn't have enough time". I certainly didn't get the sense that she was holding the interview with professionalism or being impartial. She kept basically making a comment after most of my answers, downplaying the severity and implying that it wasn't fitting criteria. Between this and her aggressive, frustrated attitude/tone of voice, I was extremely uncomfortable.
At one point, she made a comment that I wasn't doing a lot of overtalking which is a symptom of ADHD. At that point, I told her I'm not talking freely because I feel so uncomfortable with her and the way she's engaging in this conversation. I told her it felt like she was frustrated or annoyed. She said "it's frustrating for us at this company because they only give us 15 minutes." I told her that that has nothing to do with me or my psychiatrist. If she is unhappy with the process at Receptive Health, she should be dealing with that internally and certainly not talking about it or projecting her emotions around it into a professional interview. She then told me that I wasted too much time and our time was up and she had to go to her next call even though we weren't finished.
I told her that was fine as I would be reaching out to you all to request a refund and/or be switched to a different assessor who can hopefully at least engage professionally. She then tried to argue with me and say that I was being inappropriate by distracting her from the interview questions. I told her that as a patient I am allowed to ask for follow up and state when something feels inappropriate. The inappropriate thing was her as a provider arguing with me constantly, raising her voice to me, interrupting me, injecting her personal opinions into every question, telling me she is unhappy with Receptive Health for only scheduling 15 min, and bad talking my psychiatrist. She finally backed down and said it wasn't appropriate and I had a right to reach out to you all to reschedule with somebody who I feel safe with.
To say I don't feel it is appropriate for me to pay for this session would be an understatement. I can honestly say I got nothing from this appointment. She didn't finish the job she was supposed to do and blamed it on your company and me asking follow up questions/defending my feelings. She ended the call abruptly because she said she had to start her next appointment. She didn't even take a moment of awareness to realize how much harm she did. I feel really shaken up and dysregulated from that conversation. I have never experienced anything like that in my life. To be honest, I might even go as far as to say it was traumatizing.
I would like to not only request a refund, but I would like to request a call back from someone in management. It honestly terrifies me that Karen is conducting these interviews the way she is. Not only did she do nothing in her job description to help me...she actually left me feeling so much worse. If I don't hear back from you, I will have to file a complaint with whoever the appropriate higher channel is, whether that is her licensing board or the Better Business Bureau. As not only a patient but a mental health provider myself, I cannot accept that this individual is out in the world conducting interviews this way. It was scary, traumatic, and inappropriate. And quite frankly, it feels dangerous.

It was great, and easy. My doctor listened to me, asked questions and together we came up with a treatment plan to best serve my needs. I have struggling with signs and symptoms of ADHD my entire life. I thought after my younger years I would outgrow it. It’s affected every part of my life. Now I can move forward.
