We bought a Tempur-pedic queen-size adjustable base that goes up or down at the head or foot 6 weeks ago. The installation crew installed it at a height of 12 inches off the ground. With the mattress, it's just much too high to be safe for the elderly and we feel like we might roll out of bed and break bones. Asked to adjust the base, they want $159 for what couldn't take more than a few minutes. They were rushed and did not allow us to consider or think about the height. Tempurpedic is not a friendly company that cares about its customers.

I purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress through Mattress Firm expecting a premium product backed by a legitimate warranty. Instead, when the mattress experienced a clear structural failure, both companies refused to take responsibility. The mattress developed a large separation in the internal foam layers that caused the top material to tear and create a significant circular depression in the sleeping surface. This is not normal wear and tear. The foam inside the mattress has clearly separated, which then pulled the outer material apart.

I followed Tempur-Pedic’s warranty process exactly as instructed, including removing the cover and providing detailed photos. Despite clear evidence of structural failure, the claim was denied because the company alleged there was “discoloration” on the mattress. The so-called discoloration appears to simply be normal impressions visible in the foam once the cover was removed — something that would naturally appear when examining the mattress layers. Instead of addressing the obvious product defect, the claim was rejected based on what appears to be a technicality.

What makes this worse is that Mattress Firm, the retailer that sold the mattress, stated there was nothing they could do. The only solution they offered was for me to buy another mattress — even though the one I purchased failed prematurely. Consumers should understand that Tempur-Pedic promotes a strong warranty and premium quality, but when a product actually fails, the warranty process appears designed to avoid honoring claims. I am currently documenting this issue and exploring additional complaints with consumer protection agencies and state regulators. Buyers should carefully consider whether the warranty on these mattresses is truly meaningful if companies refuse to honor it when a clear structural defect occurs.

I purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress and frame in 2021 for my back pain. I just had spinal fusion surgery after using this bed for 5 years paid $8000+. I’ve spoken to Tempur-Pedic warranty dept including the supervisor requesting to please send over a third-party vendor to take pictures and measurements and no one wants to help. I was told by Mattress Firm that this service was available. I am so frustrated to find myself in a position in which I am temporarily disabled, and Tempur-Pedic refuses to help. Do not fall into this trap. This warranty is obviously not worth anything if unable to submit documentation due to disability.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Tempur-Pedic. I purchased this mattress expecting premium quality and customer support to match the high price tag. Unfortunately, when I submitted a warranty claim, the company refused to honor it. They stated that the mattress had “burns and stains,” which is simply not accurate. The mattress has been well cared for and properly protected. It feels like they are using this as a reason to deny legitimate warranty claims rather than standing behind their product.

For a company that promotes long-term durability and customer satisfaction, this experience has been incredibly frustrating. A warranty should provide peace of mind — not become a battle when you actually need it. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend considering other options, such as Sleep Number, before purchasing from Tempur-Pedic. Do your research carefully before investing your money here.

I have three of their bed bases and misplaced a remote control for one of them. I ordered a new one but found the control 30 minutes later. I was looking for a way to cancel the order and found there was no way to do it and had to call customer service. I could not get through after waiting so I chose the option of getting a call back and also sent an email. No one called back.

The next day they sent an email saying it was shipped, and a minute after that email, customer service replied to my email to say it was too late to cancel because it was already shipped. I asked about a return and it turns out remote controls are not eligible for a refund. WHY??? But anyway, I feel they were playing games to keep the $42 order. I regret everything dealing with this company but I am stuck with the bed bases. I will do a return to sender and hope the credit card can get me a refund. Will also complain to BBB. They are not being reasonable.

Worst purchase I’ve made in years. I bought a Tempur-Pedic mattress expecting premium quality and support. What I got was the complete opposite. The mattress started sagging far earlier than advertised, causing back and hip pain instead of relieving it. For something marketed as “top-tier,” the durability is extremely disappointing.

But the worst part is the warranty — absolutely useless. The process is slow, full of fine print, and designed to deny claims. They require measurements and conditions that make it nearly impossible to qualify, even when the defect is obvious. Customer service was unhelpful and dismissive the entire time. For the price they charge, you’d expect quality and a company that stands behind its product. Instead, you get a sinking mattress and a warranty that doesn’t deliver. Would not recommend.

I spent $2500 on a mattress that was sagging and disintegrating after only 4 years. Their warranty was supposed to cover the mattress for 10. There was a stain on the cover, but it did not reach the mattress itself and was nowhere near where the sagging, buckling and breakdown of material occurred. It sagged 1-5/8". Now I have to file a small claims suit which really pisses me off, like I want to spend my valuable time doing that! Horrible product and customer service sucks. Furniture Design Center, Eureka, CA where I purchased the product also not helpful. At first, they called a Tempur-pedic representative who said they would "go to bat for me" and then nobody called me back. It's pretty much you're on your own. Never again. We had a Tempur Pedic mattress and base for about 10 years - we were completely satisfied, so, when we decided to upgrade from a queen to a king size bed, we stupidly bought another mattress and the ease base without doing any research. The mattress is good, but the base is awful, but Tempur-Pedic's (TP - there's a metaphor in this abbreviation) faith in the their own product is even worse. We had the bed delivered and set up with their white-glove service, and since the first night, the frame has made noises and, almost immediately, we noticed the mattress was sliding down, pushing the retention bar with it. The retention bar popping out is now a daily issue. Have you ever tried to dead lift a king size TP mattress, hold it up, and fish around to try and put the retention bar back where it belongs? It's a hernia-inducing feat (I actually did get a hernia since we bought this mattress, which I have to have surgery for.)

I assumed the retention bar was missing rubber grommets, because of the way the bar was popping free of the frame, so I called to tell the company the grommets must have not been installed by the delivery company, and asked TP to send me some replacements. I was told I would have to pay for the replacement grommets. As far as the noisy frame, I was told I'd have to pay for a tech to come to my house to look at it. So, irritation #1 is that TP promotes their white glove delivery that is really just a couple guys with a truck.

I decided to advance my issue and file a warranty claim - which honestly is a complete waste of everyone's time, I thought, because this issue could've been handled at a much lower level. My hunch was right - the warranty, which required ridiculous pictures of everything, was a waste of time, and only further delayed the inevitable conclusion that I need to buy a new base out of my own pocket. But let's get on with the story. I filed a warranty claim, and what was TP's response? Call customer service again.

So I called today (1/25/2026) and now I learn the only two grommets on the retention bar are a couple of hard plastic pieces that are attached to the frame that are supposed to hold the bar in place. My frame has the two pieces, so it's apparently a design flaw in the frame/retention bar, because as soon as two people sleep in the bed or raise the head of the bed even a little, the bar stops doing its job and the mattress starts to slide off the end of the bed. Essentially, I'm out of luck on that front too. Irritation #2 - check.

As far as the noisy legs (I described it to the very professional customer service rep as a wobbly/noisy sound that happens just from sitting on the bed to put on my shoes in the morning or turning over in the night), I'd have to pay for a technician at $159 to come look at the legs - since they aren't covered under the warranty. So, a substantial component of the base is NOT covered? The representative suggested seeing if I can find someone to help me try and tighten the legs - the legs that were installed by the white glove delivery people. Irritation #3.

The customer service representatives were great during both of my calls - my complaint is not with them, it's with TP, their product, and most importantly, the price I paid to have a piece of garbage base delivered and installed in my house. I paid $1,499 for the base and $1,819 for the bed. This base is worth about $300 in my opinion.

I finally resorted to seek a refund for the mistake I made. But TP also knows their products suck, so there is no refund available on bases! The website instructs you to call their customer service center to resolve the issue. Irritation #4. I have purchased my last Sealy and TP product, and I'm probably going to have to buy another base from a different company - I can't imagine dealing with a sliding mattress for the next 10 years. That'll be 10 years worth of irritations. I want you to refund my base purchase price and send your white glove delivery people back over to remove this piece of shit from my home. Thanks for ruining your company's reputation for me.

Not even sure how these people remain in business. Warranty, quality issues. They treat the consumer like complete garbage. Make every excuse in the book. I bought a Tempur cloud mattress topper after considering buying one of their mattresses. I figured try this first after hearing the terrible horror stories, that pretty much everyone knows even retail stores tell you they are sticklers when it comes to customers not being satisfied. After my topper arrived almost open box. I took out and immediately smell off gas was terrible!

Then I noticed holes not uniformly but all over some as large as my fingertip that I sent pictures of that looked smaller but gave a reference of my fingertip near them. The holes were right through the other side some of them and held up to a light to show them. I got a reply back from Tempur research department that this is from when they poured it and would not effect the feel. Are you kidding me, other foam toppers I had were made better and cheaper never even had holes unless they were deliberately for air holes. So I reply back doesn’t matter how they got there, if during pouring or what, they can rip, or become more open, NO REPLY BACK, COMPLETELY IGNORED. Thank god I didn’t purchase an expensive mattress for my first experience and my last from this company.

Goodbye tempur, hope all your consumers spread these bad business and incompetence ways of treating its customers without a care. We ended up buying a mattress well known for its motion isolation and when tried in store was even better on tests compared to tempur. We set it up and noticed it was good, then we added this topper and the motion isolation when just adding the topper completely changed the mattress even worse. In fact this topper added more motion transfer and it shouldn’t according to the claims. I’m not sure if it’s because of the faulty holes or what but pretty much anything you buy from them you're stuck with, just remember that. A GEL ONE cheaper with no holes, would have been better and they are out there, this also runs hot, gives you more motion feel even if your mattress is designed to give you motion isolation. Stay away would my advice to anyone’.

I have fought customer service, gone to BBB, and now have to file a small claims case to try and get our money back. They are basically forcing us to sleep on the mattress under duress because we have to make the sag a little deeper. The 3/4 inch warranty requirement is arbitrary but they will not budge on it. Our Tempur‑Pedic mattress developed mold underneath approximately two years after purchase, despite being used properly with a mattress protector and placed on a compatible slate bed frame in a normal residential bedroom. There was no flooding, spills, or abnormal humidity. The mold was discovered while the mattress was in regular use and moved to the garage only afterward due to health concerns. Tempur‑Pedic denied our warranty claim, incorrectly stating improper use, lack of protection, or improper storage. We have never experienced mold with other mattresses in this home or elsewhere, including the previous mattress in the same room. We are seeking a reasonable resolution such as a replacement mattress or refund/store credit.

I am extremely disappointed with the performance and warranty support of my Tempur-ProAdapt 12" Medium Hybrid Mattress Queen Prime, which I purchased on July 17, 2022, from MattressFirm along with a Tempur-Ergo Adjustable Base Queen. After a relatively short period, I started noticing that the left side of the mattress had developed uncomfortable lumps from the springs, and the memory foam had worn out, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Despite still being under warranty, Tempur-Pedic refused to cover the issue, citing stains on the mattress as the reason. However, these stains were on the removable and washable mattress cover, and had no relation to the underlying problem with the springs and foam. I believe this is a blatant attempt to avoid honoring their warranty, and it reflects poorly on the quality of their products. To think that I spent $3,349.00 on a mattress that has failed to deliver is infuriating. In contrast, my older Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattress, which is still paired with an adjustable bed frame, remains in much better condition, suggesting that the company's quality has indeed declined. As a result, I will not be purchasing another Tempur-Pedic product and will advise others to avoid the brand altogether.

You will only be able to communicate by email and they will use a color enhancement process to find anything they can use to reject the claim. I wanted an adjustable bed for a long time to help with back pain. I finally purchased a Tempur-pedic base to go with a great Sonno mattress that I already have. I was expecting the base to raise up in the same way a hospital bed does, so that I could sleep with my back elevated. It does not. I feel like I am in a C shape or a giant claw. It is sort of stationary in the middle, and the top and foot adjust. I hate it so much and didn't realize only mattresses have a return policy. How does it even make sense that something soft you sleep directly on can be returned but not something hard that can be cleaned easily? I did try in the store and thought it would be great. Very hard to tell without sleeping on it. Too expensive to just throw away and too uncomfortable to use. If Tempur Pedic really stood behind their products, they would have some kind of option for people that are stuck with this base. I will never purchase from them again.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my Tempur-Pedic Cal King mattress, which began sagging significantly after only two years of use. The depressions are located on the sides where my wife and I sleep, while the center remains firm. I have confirmed this issue with a long level and provided over 20 photographic examples to the warranty department. The warranty claim was denied by a representative who cited "improper use/handling" and blamed the sagging on liquid damage.

As evidence, they pointed to a small coffee cup ring, claiming it compromised the foam's structure. This is concerning, as the mattress cover, which was purchased with the mattress, was represented as waterproof. For a $5,000 mattress, it is unacceptable for a minor spill to void the warranty by seeping through the cover and allegedly degrading the foam. This experience indicates a fundamental issue with both the product's durability and the company's warranty coverage. Based on this, I cannot recommend a Tempur-Pedic mattress.

    Original Review: Sept. 30, 2025

I purchased a former bed from Mattress Factory years ago and went back to get a new bed for my back. I purchased a Tempur-Pedic bed with adjustable base and was told I had a trial period according to the salesperson and the Tempur-Pedic guarantee. Within two weeks, my back was in such pain that I needed to exchange the mattress, but was told the bases were exchangeable, not the mattress, even though that's the way it was advertised. It's almost 5 years that I've bought the bed and the motors need to be replaced. I was told I would pay $16.25 each for shipping, and the parts were covered under warranty in which I needed two motors by Taylor.

I was billed $80 for four motors and the power source. I spoke to Lauren in escalation because she said everything was packed and nothing could be returned, even though I ordered five hours prior on a recorded line. Lauren stated she would return the amount that needed to be adjusted and would ship out five parts that were already packaged. She also stated there would be an additional discount for this stress that this has caused. I questioned why I needed five parts since it was a queen bed and not a king-size bed with motors for each side, and just had a motor on the top and bottom that needed to be replaced.

She said the power supply also needed to be replaced as well as the motors and the total price would be $48. Instead, she took off $48 and charged me $32 with two parts and not the power box that she said was wearing out. She said the order was fulfilled and I couldn't change it and they wouldn't accept any returns. She unpacked the box, putting in two motors and not the power source, even though she said nothing could be done on my end to change the order which has already been fulfilled.

I feel this was very misleading. Even though it was a pleasant conversation with her, I do not recommend buying a Tempur-Pedic at this point. From the beginning at the store, to the three representatives I spoke to at Tempur-Pedic all their answers were contradictory and not satisfactory. I sent a letter to Tempur-Pedic before writing this review to find out what parts would be sent out exactly and still only got a bill for $32 with the adjustment until today, stating it would be two motors. I feel by her communication. They still owe me the power box at no charge. Bad communication with a major company. This call should be reviewed by a supervisor for consistency and customer service excellence.
