About Tempur-Pedic
Tempur-Pedic is the original developer of memory foam mattresses. When you purchase from Tempur-Pedic or an authorized dealer, the warranty covers the mattress for 10 years, which is as long as traditional mattresses are typically expected to last. The Arthritis Foundation recommends Tempur-Pedic products based on evaluations by users, which makes the company a strong choice for those with joint pain.

Speaking with Matthew, he was able to rectify the situation easily. Much appreciated.
Original Review: Sept. 30, 2025
I purchased a former bed from Mattress Factory years ago and went back to get a new bed for my back. I purchased a Tempur-Pedic bed with adjustable base and was told I had a trial period according to the salesperson and the Tempur-Pedic guarantee. Within two weeks, my back was in such pain that I needed to exchange the mattress, but was told the bases were exchangeable, not the mattress, even though that's the way it was advertised. It's almost 5 years that I've bought the bed and the motors need to be replaced. I was told I would pay $16.25 each for shipping, and the parts were covered under warranty in which I needed two motors by Taylor.
I was billed $80 for four motors and the power source. I spoke to Lauren in escalation because she said everything was packed and nothing could be returned, even though I ordered five hours prior on a recorded line. Lauren stated she would return the amount that needed to be adjusted and would ship out five parts that were already packaged. She also stated there would be an additional discount for this stress that this has caused. I questioned why I needed five parts since it was a queen bed and not a king-size bed with motors for each side, and just had a motor on the top and bottom that needed to be replaced.
She said the power supply also needed to be replaced as well as the motors and the total price would be $48. Instead, she took off $48 and charged me $32 with two parts and not the power box that she said was wearing out. She said the order was fulfilled and I couldn't change it and they wouldn't accept any returns. She unpacked the box, putting in two motors and not the power source, even though she said nothing could be done on my end to change the order which has already been fulfilled.
I feel this was very misleading. Even though it was a pleasant conversation with her, I do not recommend buying a Tempur-Pedic at this point. From the beginning at the store, to the three representatives I spoke to at Tempur-Pedic all their answers were contradictory and not satisfactory. I sent a letter to Tempur-Pedic before writing this review to find out what parts would be sent out exactly and still only got a bill for $32 with the adjustment until today, stating it would be two motors. I feel by her communication. They still owe me the power box at no charge. Bad communication with a major company. This call should be reviewed by a supervisor for consistency and customer service excellence.

I purchased a brand new mattress from this company for four thousand dollars and they sent me two damaged mattresses with blood stains. I filed a complaint and the sent me a mattress for three thousand dollars, but that is splitting and falling apart. I file a claim and it was denied due to liquid damage. However my mattress is not damaged by liquid because I use a mattress cover.

Not worth the price. Initially comfortable but develops permanent, deep sagging just like any other mattress. Though well within the warranty period, the warranty was not honored despite the mattress being installed by the dealer by their own specifications.

Please do your research. We spend so much on adjustable split king and neither my husband and I could not get a good night sleep. Roll to center into crack, very hot, very firm…. Uncomfortably firm. We have moved our $1500 queen adjustable bed base and mattress back in our room. It took a month to be delivered and we did not get everything set up for another month or so because I was in hospital a lot at the time. So past the return policy. I regret spending the 8 grand on our forever bed. Some website gives it a number one. Please read on reviews. There are so many bed with all the new tech a whole lot cheaper and some of way on the other side of better warranties as well. I do NOT believe a word the sales tells you. Told the bed would stay together. If I Let myself roll to center, it will spread completely open.
Never a good night sleep. Way too hard for even a firm mattress, very hot, will not stay together. Both twins roll over on the sides and center like something has squished them in. Good luck staying in center of little twin. I’m 5.2 and not overweight and still seems like it’s not the right fit. My husband and I have shared a twin camping. Granted we had to spoon but we never rolled off. You will this bed and suppose to be a king. Nope just two messed up twins pushed together. Please excuse any of my errors. Writing review from phone.

The website and the product description are misleading. The homepage indicates there is a 90-day risk free trial. This is only for mattresses, and not for toppers. The toppers are not refundable due to 'personal use.' A mattress also has 'personal use.' We purchased the king-sized adapt mattress topper with the cover and the heating/cooling feature because it was touted as reducing transference. We slept on it once and it did nothing for transference at all. I called the next day, was disconnected twice, and eventually told it was not refundable. A waste of $500.00.

My claim for an almost 5000.00 mattress was denied because of a liquid stain that was a coke stain on the bed and sweat stains on the mattress. It was also denied because the depression was not 3/4" without any weight bearing. With weight the bed collapses to half of its dimensions. The bed will be 6 years old in 3 months. I would not recommend this mattress company to anyone. Buy something keeper because if it only lasts 3-4 years you are still not out a fortune for the crap that you get from them.

Chiropractors will love you if you purchase Tempur-Pedic! Constant back/neck/hip problems from extensive mattress sagging will cause pain that is not there when sleeping on another bed at a hotel or friend's home. The Company is horrible and shifty. They use bait and switch with their "10 year warranty." So as to not go into a landfill, this expensive king mattress is going to a homeless shelter. We don't appreciate Tempurpedic indirectly calling us liars, especially when THEY ARE DECEITFUL IN THEIR MARKETING, SALES AND WARRANTY PROCESS. Buyer Beware!

I’ve had my mattress for four years. It’s a Tempur-Pedic Adapt. It’s a king size the sides of collapse and there’s a bulge in the center. When I applied for the warranty they’re telling me that the mattress is stained. I’ve had a mattress cover on this mattress since the day, I purchased it and it is not a stain. It is weaving material that they use That shows a discoloration and a different pattern. They will not honor the warranty. They rip you off customers by saying they will, and then find every little excuse under the sun not to honor the warranty. I will never ever buy a Tempur-pedic mattress again, and I encourage anybody not to buy their crappy products no matter what they Say.

We have owned Tempur-Pedic mattresses since 1994. We sent in a warranty claim on our grand mattress which is 10 years old and 5 months. This mattress has a 25 year warranty. Our mattress did not meet the warranty claim of 3/4” sinkage. The problem is the mattress sinks a lot more when weight is added and is hurting our backs. We feel like we are sleeping in a hole. We asked the company for help in the matter and they recommended a topper. The mattresses is very expensive to begin with. We will be looking for a replacement and it will not be tempur-pedic.

Tempur-Pedic, this is unacceptable. Buyer beware! We spent over $5,000 plus on a Tempur-Pedic ProBreeze Hybrid, expecting premium quality. In just 3 years, the mattress sank deeply in the middle (we literally roll into a hole), and the so-called “cooling technology” is useless. Despite sending clear photos showing the defect, Tempur-Pedic refused to honor the 5-year warranty — they didn’t even bother sending anyone to inspect it. Their excuse? They called it a “comfort issue.” No — this is a defective, unusable mat. Do to my current condition and pass back surgery, I purposely chose this mattress to help with my pain and chronic back issues. At first, I slept well then less then one year later, noticing my pain worsening looking at the mattress and realizing the defectiveness, I even change size with my husband with no success!
We are healthy adults, not overweight with any other issues than back pain. We followed every care instruction, submitted clear photos, and even explained that the bed is unusable — yet you denied our claim without even inspecting it. This isn’t “comfort preference.” It’s a defective product, and your refusal to honor the warranty leaves us no choice but to pursue further action through the Better Business Bureau, the Florida Attorney General’s Office for Consumer Protection, and explore legal remedies for breach of warranty. Tempur-Pedic markets luxury but hides behind fine print when there’s a real problem. We will continue to make our experience public until this is "resolved.”

I expected better from a company like Tempur-Pedic. My warranty claim was denied because of an alleged “liquid stain,” determined just from a photo—no inspection, no dialogue, and no opportunity to clarify. I went through all the proper channels, including a second review, and still received nothing but a copy-pasted quote from their policy. The customer service was cold and dismissive. For the price of these mattresses, I expected real support and accountability. I won’t be buying from Tempur-Pedic again and would not recommend them to anyone who values transparency or customer care.

I purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress in 2016 and paid over $8000 for it. After two years, the mattress started sagging. I called on the warranty and sent pictures of my saggy mattress. I was told it wasn’t sagging enough to be replaced. I reached out to anyone that I could to show the severity of the dip and that it would only get worse over the years. I was still denied. Fast-forward to this year, where I have developed back problems because of the severe sagging. It naturally continued to get worse through the years. I reached out again with pictures and was told that there was a liquid stain on the mattress. As a result of warranty is voided. There isn’t a stain on the mattress.
The mattress was purchased in 2016. It is now 2025 and the mattress naturally does not hold its bright white color. There are no stains. They of course denied my claim and will not honor the warranty. Unfortunately, after researching, I have found many people with the same problem. Tempur-pedic refuses to cover their warranty and will always find a reason why. If I knew this from the beginning, I wouldn’t have spent this much money on a mattress from Tempur-pedic.

I have been buying Tempurpedics since the were just the one and first model (that was the best one). I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and these used to be a great sleep relief. I have bought 3 mattresses in 30 years. Me and my grown son just each bought the medium Tempurpedic Breeze. Within the first month, I started having allergies every morning. I checked everything and couldn't figure out why I was stuffy every morning. Slept on the couch, fine, back in bed, allergies. Literally felt like I had a cold every morning until I got away from the bed. Slept on couch, futon, even hotel, fine. Back home, felt sick. Then it took my body shape within the first year. I have flipped sides, but the impression are done, no relief from not sleeping on the flipped side for 6 months. Son having the same problem with dents and he had two hand me down Tempurpedics.
18 months in, I bought a 160.00 futon and I am sleeping better on the floor, waking up with no allergies. Son and I are trying to unload mattresses. Out of good conscience we don't even want to donate. They are dented and I know emissions are coming off the mattress. A huge waste of money! Don't even want to look for a new one. The futon is fine for now. Gutted by how much money we lost.

I paid over $4,000 for a Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Medium, and within 2 years, it turned into a hot, sagging pit. I woke up sore every morning, stuck in a crater that only got deeper. When I filed a warranty claim, they accused me of altering the photos I submitted — even though I followed all their instructions. What’s worse? A sales rep at Mattress Firm actually told me: “Oh, you bought the ProAdapt Medium? Yeah, it didn’t hold up too good.” That says it all.
I later found out dozens of other customers have had the exact same problem — early sagging, pitting, and warranty runarounds. Just search Reddit, Google, or mattress review sites and you’ll see it’s a known issue. Tempur-Pedic sells premium-priced mattresses that don’t last — and then refuses to honor their warranty when the product fails. I’ll never buy another Tempur product again. I’ve switched to Saatva HD, and I’m finally sleeping without fear of being swallowed by memory foam.

We have kept our mattress covered since we bought it and there are 0 stains. They denied my claim twice due to stains! They sent me back a copy of my photo circling the “stains”. Those were not stains! It was shadowing from my ceiling fan. They then asked for a video, which I sent them, now they aren’t responding! The video also showed 0 stains, but they don’t want to admit they were wrong, so we’re stuck with a $4,000 mattress that is wrecked and can’t afford another one. See photos! They circled what they think are stains, but new photo, without shadowing shows no stains.

I have been a loyal Tempur-Pedic customer for many years. Four months ago, I purchased a new bed for my fiancé and me. Unfortunately, one of the legs recently broke off from the screw, despite the bed being relatively new. When I contacted customer service, I was informed that because we purchased a floor model at a discounted price of $4,500, the product was not covered under warranty. This was never made explicitly clear at the time of purchase.
While trying to resolve the issue, our representative, Eric, informed us that we could not replace just the broken leg—we would need to purchase a full set of six. Additionally, the email we received listed the cost of labor and parts as $89. However, during a follow-up phone call, we were told that labor was not included and that there would be an additional $135 charge for a technician visit. Given the significant investment we made and my long-standing relationship with your brand, I am very disappointed in how this situation has been handled. I expected better support and clearer communication from a company of Tempur-Pedic’s reputation.

We have Tempur-pedic mattress that still is in the 10 year warranty phase. The mattress has his two distinctive divots in it as well as a sweet spot in the center. When we bought the mattress we were told by the Tempur-pedic representative that we would never have to buy another mattress again. This statement from the manufacturers representative turned out to be an absolute falsehood. The mattress has become unsleepable and we will be buying another mattress that is not a Tempur-pedic.
I reached out to Tempur - pedic warranty support which I had to do via email is no direct phone contact is allowed. I sent my pictures in and explain the situation. I did get a response back approximately 4 to 5 days later. The warranty claims group denied any warranty claim on the mattress. I did attempt to follow up telling them, how disappointed I was, but was told The decision of the warranty committee is final and there is no discussion. The frustrating part of trying for warranty coverage on this failed Tempur-pedic product is that there's no way to reach them via phone to have an honest sincere dialogue with them. When I asked them to call me for further discussion they would not and sent me a follow up email.
In doing further research, it appears that there are much better warranties and manufactures in the marketplace that are really interested in customer satisfaction both short and long-term. At the time we bought the Tempur-pedic mattress we really felt we made a long-term investment with the right company. Unfortunately, if I had to do it again, i would definitely not be making a Tempur-pedic purchase based on everything I've experienced.

I've been buying their firm Pro Adapt for thirty years. In the first few months it's as firm as a board. I love it because I have a bad back and it was the firmest mattress on the market. I went to buy another one this year and found out after I purchased it, they had changed the firmness to a softer style. I told them about it and at first, they tried to deny that they had made any changes. They lied to me. I finally got Marty and Lauren and Siena to admit that they had changed the firmness. I tried all their ways of getting a refund. NO refund will be given and in fact they said for me to buy another mattress from another company. SO, I did. Buyer Beware! Tempur Pedic at City Furniture's in Miami 9255 S Dixie Hwy, Pinecrest, FL. 33156 "10-Year Warranty" is a Nightmare - Don't Waste Your Money! Let me preface this by saying that our experience with City Furniture after purchasing what we thought was a high-quality, expensive mattress Tempur-ProAdapt™ Firm 12" Mattress $2,619.96 has been nothing short of a complete nightmare. They proudly advertise a 10-year warranty on their mattresses, which gave us a sense of security when making a significant investment in our sleep and well-being. Unfortunately, that promise has proven to be utterly worthless.
Within a reasonable time after our purchase, we started experiencing significant discomfort due to unevenness and sagging in the mattress. What appears to be a straight surface to the naked eye reveals deep dips and uneven support when you lie down. This has led to persistent and debilitating back pain, forcing us to seek and pay for specialist medical care.
Despite diligently following City Furniture's instructions and contacting the manufacturer, Tempur-Pedic, as they directed, we've been trapped in a never-ending cycle of frustration. Tempur-Pedic sent an inspector who, based on a superficial visual inspection, deemed the mattress "within acceptable limits." They completely disregarded our complaints about the noticeable unevenness felt when lying on the mattress, the very issue causing our back problems.
We have sent multiple emails, attaching numerous photos and clearly explaining how these "valleys" forming in the mattress are causing us severe back pain. This was supposed to be a top-of-the-line mattress, yet it's performing worse than a budget option. We've even incurred medical expenses due to the issues with this faulty product.
Adding insult to injury, in our latest communication with Tempur-Pedic, after we complied with their request for more photographs (which were essentially the same photos we had already sent), they incredibly tried to blame the issue on our bed base! We promptly responded, explaining that the base we were using was the very one recommended to us by City Furniture as the best option for this specific mattress. We even requested to speak with a manager to escalate our concerns, but the Tempur-Pedic representative flatly stated that it wouldn't matter who we spoke to, their decision would not change. This demonstrates a shocking level of inflexibility and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction.
This entire experience has been incredibly stressful, time-consuming, and financially draining. The "10-year warranty" offered by City Furniture seems to be nothing more than a marketing gimmick, offering no real protection or recourse for customers who receive a defective product. The fact that they defer all responsibility to a manufacturer who then resorts to ludicrous excuses like blaming the recommended base is simply unacceptable.
If you're considering purchasing a mattress from City Furniture, especially an expensive one with their supposed warranty, please think twice. Our experience strongly suggests that their after-sales support and warranty fulfillment are nonexistent. Save yourself the headache, the back pain, and the wasted money – shop elsewhere! We are left with a costly, uncomfortable mattress and the bitter taste of a company that doesn't stand behind its promises and a manufacturer that refuses to take responsibility. Our claim was filed at the end of December 2022. At today we don’t have any positive resolution. Some of the people we contact; Edgar R. Tempur-Sealy Consumer Rep, Rodney Y. We will see, but so far I'm really disappointed. We spent north of $4k on our Tempur Pro-Adapt after shopping around. Initially, it was a great mattress. But 5 years in, both sides are *super* soft, with a crown in the middle. So far Tempur is just saying 'Put a broomstick on it and prove it' but the bed bounces back. A broomstick doesn't show that the thing is painfully soft now as it has zero weight. I did include a picture with a level to show that it is crowning, just not enough to show on the 'broomstick' test. So far, this is pathetic. For this kind of money they shouldn't be arguing like this. God I hate large corporations with an adversarial sense of customer service.

This is my second Tempurpedic and while the first one years ago was decent though did not help my wife's back much the current one is a different story and we had to add a topper for my wife to be able to sleep on it and get in and out of the bed. There were also issues with the remote and a few other minor issues early on that were taken care of. Last night I started the massage unit on the bed at app 11 PM and woke up around 1 AM and noticed the massage was still running. (It is supposed to automatically shut off after 30 minutes.) There was a strong acrid (chemical) smoke and I traced it to the massage unit under my mattress. I tried to shut it off, but it would not shut off. I unplugged it and waited then plugged it back in. It immediately started back up. I unplugged it again (but this means no functions work on the bed now).
I reached under the bed and touched the control box for the massage and it was so hot it burned my finger tips. I could feel the material around it was crispy. I attempted to contact TempurPedic and got recordings and instructions to file a warranty, yet there is no way to really do this easily. They want a picture of your initial receipt. Then they want you to strip the bed (difficult when you cannot move the mattress up) and take a picture of the whole mattress showing the issue (the issue is under the base), then a picture of the mattress with a broom stick, then remove the mattresses and take a picture of the base. Then a picture of the Law Tag. None of this has anything to do with the issue I had. Currently I am still waiting for a response.

Avoid this company!! I've had two mattresses with the same sagging issue, When I tried to use the warranty, they refused to honor it. They are not a reputable company and play games with the warranty.

I started out with a different brand mattress. That one didn't work out (although it is was better than what I have now Tempur-Pedic Adapt Pro Firm). I could not return it... Tempur-Pedic company kept sending me these scripted emails telling to do this or do that. Nothing worked. So then they suggested I purchase a topper. I didn't know they had a no return policy on that. They sent me a 3" but I wanted either a 1 1/2 or 2' topper. can't return it. Then the last guy I emailed suggested "I've attached our return policy, which states that personal items such as toppers, pillows, and sheets are non-returnable. If you end up not liking them, you may discard them using your own discretion or donate them to a local charity. Let me know if you have any other questions." Then suggested I learn how to sleep in a different position, I am a side and stomach sleeper.
I can't sleep on my back due to breathing issues. So I guess I need to learn how to sleep upside down and on my head. So... 4000.00 plus the price of the topper out the window with just a suggestion to donate it to charity. Some company representation. I will never buy anything that says Tempur-Pedic on it again. And If I could give negative stars... It would be -3.

I got the air bladder mattress, I thought it was a good buy, but the downside is the bladder fails before the warranty’s up and they will fight you like an insurance company not to honor their bed. I bought the mattress and bed at the same time, I even had to pre-order, 8 years later I filed a claim. They said, "Your foundation is no good, and you have to have a receipt." The wording for warranty shady words they use like RECOMMEND instead of required and SHOULD instead of shall, the authorized dealers let me buy the foundation knowing it would void warranty, lol ridiculous. Do better.
Should authorized dealers let customers buy wrong base should they explain more on the catch clauses of the warranty? After a customer spends over 3-5k on a bed maybe the dealer would take 2 minutes to help explain the catch clauses of warranty? Overall, great bed but cheap internal pieces as well as it was put together poorly, the part that failed actually was made to put force on failing part, I can see just by looking at it and laughed because you can see the pressure/angle forcing it apart and you just know it would fail over time.

I’ve been dealing with chronic lower back pain for quite some time, even after years of trying alternative care methods. I’d been sleeping on the same mattress for 15 years and thought it might be time to replace it in hopes of resolving my back pain. After researching extensively and testing various firmness levels in-store, we decided to invest in a king-size Tempur-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid Mattress. Unfortunately, after just two months, it became clear that the medium hybrid mattress was a bit on the soft size for us and did not help alleviate my back pain.
Still believing in Tempur-Pedic’s reputation and reviews, we opted to exchange the mattress instead of requesting a refund. Based on customer service advice to go back and test in-store, we upgraded to the Medium model, which was the next firmness level up. We were aware that the exchange was a final sale, but we felt confident in our decision after briefly testing the mattress in-store. However, the challenge with mattress shopping is that spending a few minutes lying on a mattress in the store doesn’t compare to sleeping on it for 2-3 months. Unfortunately, after nearly two months of sleeping on the Medium model, it softened considerably and began to feel similar to the Medium Hybrid we’d just exchanged. My back pain continues to persist.
Desperate for relief, I decided to try sleeping on a thin mat on the carpet floor in our bedroom. Amazingly, after just two days, I noticed significant relief in my back pain. I continued sleeping on the floor for several days and felt much better. Curious, I went back to sleeping on the Tempur-Pedic mattress, but within two days, my back pain returned. This has led me to believe that I need a much firmer mattress. Unfortunately, since the exchange was a final sale and the mattress was a significant investment, I now feel stuck with a Tempur-Pedic Medium mattress that isn’t working for me. I’m sharing my experience in hopes of getting feedback from others who may have had similar issues. Are there any alternative solutions, or does anyone have recommendations for those of us who need extra firm mattresses? I’d greatly appreciate any advice.

With an upcoming surgery we decided a Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed would be perfect. We chose soft with the cooling top. I wish I could throw it in the trash. It NEVER got soft so it feels like I am sleeping on a cement floor. This was purchased spring/summer 2024. I now have soooo many body aches and cannot sleep at all often going into the guest bedroom. We got all the bells and whistles. It has the smart track AI app. Remote to adjust. Lights. But the mattress is the hardest soft bed I have EVER been on. We have ordered a topper hoping it will help. If you like cement firmness then it appears soft will work too. REGRET.
