Our salesman Kyle helped us out even when we showed up 15 minutes before close. We knew what furniture set we liked and we were glad to see it was still on sale. Kyle told us about the manufacturer and showed us the quality of the unit. On top of all that he gave us enough time to look at bed sets and we found one. He quickly narrowed down the beds to our price range. Gave us plenty of time to find the right one. Great service.

Another pleasant experience at Slumberland. Our salesperson was helpful and friendly. She assisted us with all of our questions and making our special order. We appreciated her showing what the chairs would look like on the computer. She even helped us pick the perfect fabric.

Kyle did an excellent job. No pressure to buy and we felt like we had plenty of time to walk around the store and get questions answered. I feel like we made the tight purchase and it was also nice to buy on the friends and family discount day.

My fiancé and I came in to Slumberland to look at bedroom furniture. After circling the store we came back to our favorite set, Kyle ** came over and answered our questions, helped us understand how this set compared to others and showed that he was very knowledgeable about it. He then admitted it was the set he and his wife had. We ended up buying it. It was a great experience. Thanks Kyle!

Had an amazing experience at the west side location. It was my second time going in because of buying a new mattress a couple months ago but having back problems. Bob our sales guy both times was patient, friendly and very nice for both experiences. Ended up getting a firmer mattress and I feel that it will be better in the end. Thanks.

I purchased an oversized recliner from the Slumberland in Mason City, IA several years ago. Less than a year later the recliner didn’t work. It was catching on the filling and completely shredded the inside. They reordered another for me, that took another six weeks, as did the first. The second one came and in two weeks they called and said not to use the reclining buttons as a couple of stores had fires started by overheating. Again I waited to get the new buttons. Now, it has stopped reclining again. It is a couple years older and they said the warranty is only a year. After spending over $850 on a chair, you’d think they would stand behind it. So, I’m trashing this piece of crap, buying a new chair elsewhere as well as a new bedroom set and mattress!

Very deceptive business practices at the Roseville, MN store. I purchased a "hot buy" mattress and was told to have the warranty I had to purchase their mattress protector. I figured I was going to buy one anyways so I purchased it. Once I got home I realized the mattress cover was plastic like and crinkled as you lay on it. I went back to the store the next day and the sales person acted like he had never seen me before. Said they do not take exchanges or give money back on mattress covers. I asked to speak to the manager who was feet in front of me and he turned and went into the back of the store and never came back out to speak to me. Buyer beware!!!! I will never purchase from a Slumberland again.

We purchased a La-Z-Boy loveseat. First we had to reorder because the first one we received was left unstuffed in one seat. On the second loveseat we received, the cable that lift the footrest broke after 4 months. We called customer service, they required three verification photos before considering service. We had purchased the extended warranty and after they agreed to repair the cable, we were told we would have to wait 2-3 weeks for the part. After that we have to contact the store to arrange and get on a schedule for a repairman. The part is a very small item and could be 2nd day mailed in a small envelope. Very unhappy with service!!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM SLUMBERLAND BEFORE READING! I have explained the details of my experience in the paragraph below but for the benefit of those who do not completely read reviews I wanted to start with bringing your attention to customer rating discrepancies I found Slumberland's website. Like most, prior to making purchases I check review ratings. The star rating on Slumberland's website for the Wake sectional I was planning to purchase had a 4.3 star rating with 4 reviews noted. Doing the math 4 reviews/4.3 stars I did not take the time to open the review summary page.
After Slumberland did not deliver my furniture timely or have it available for store pick-up as promised, I began shopping for other furniture. While comparing a sectional from Macy's to the one I purchased from Slumberland I clicked on the 4.3 star rating associated with the Wake sectional to read the reviews. To my surprise the rating was actually 2.3 stars NOT 4.3 and there were 18 reviews not 4. I discovered more discrepancies on the Pros and Cons list which appeared before the reviews. This list contained a list of 5 each pros and cons, each item had 1 review with the exception of comfort, it had 2 positive reviews noted.
Upon reading the customer reviews I discovered 9/18 customers gave the sectional 1 stars review and 4/18 gave a 2 star review. Customer complaints included the sectional sagging, pilled and fraying fabric, and most shocking the couch being constructed from cardboard. Customers also complained that Slumberland refused to acknowledge the fabric is faulty and that other customers were having issues.
The short and skinny of my experience. When I purchased the sectional I was told the wait could be 2-4 weeks, it was dependent on when Slumberland received it from the Manufacturer. Once received it would be delivered the following Thurs, Fri, or Sat. Two weeks after purchasing the sectional I received a call from Justin, Slumberland's sales representative wanting to schedule delivery as my furniture had been received from the manufacturer. However, the delivery dates he offered were 2.5 weeks away which conflicted with his assurances and promise at the time of purchase I would not have any problems with delivery and bragged Slumberland owned it own professionally trained delivery team. What he failed to tell me was that I would have to wait have to wait for the furniture to arrive from the Manufacturer and an additional 2.5 weeks for delivery.
My son and I went in person to the store and spoke with the Manager. He stated it was unusual for their deliveries to be backlogged and offered to refund the $100 delivery fee and the opportunity to pick up the furniture from the store that coming Friday. We explained we had not had to pay for delivery but the manager still refunded the $100. We accepted. Friday afternoon my son and I both took off work early, rented a Uhaul and drove to the store. I went to the back counter and told them I was there to pick up my furniture. The greeting I received was, "did you call before coming?" Confused, I responded no. The sales clerk stated, "we tell everyone to call... " She looked up my order and said she could see the refund but stated the Manager had not followed through and the furniture had not been delivered to the store as promised and there was nothing she could do.
The store manager was on vacation until the following Wednesday and the earliest we could put the furniture was the following Tues, we declined as my son was not available to help. We left the store fully expecting to hear from the store manager when he returned from vacation. We did not. After finding the website discrepancies and reading the reviews I ordered the sectional from Macy's and received it within 4 days. I cancelled my order in person and was given a receipt showing a refund of the purchase price less $100 (already refunded) 5 days ago, I am still waiting for the refund to post to my account. Slumberland made no attempt to refund or make right the $50+ spent on renting the Uhaul.

My wife and I went in to local store on Sunday afternoon to buy a mattress. One salesperson was helping another customer. The another didn't even act like they saw us. The one helping the other person asked what we were looking for and told us where the mattresses that we could lay on them and find what we were looking for. After what seemed like forever she returned didn't really spend much time asking us what our sleeping needs were. Long story short bought the wrong mattress. My wife just couldn't sleep on it after two nights. Called the store but since we didn't buy the protector which really wasn't explained to us very well. They got what they wanted our money. I won't buy here again. Poor service!

We've bought 3 or 4 items over the years there, two special orders and two on-floor items. The salespeople are always professional, knowledgeable, and not at all pushy. The products are high-quality and last a long time, and the fabric choices on upholstered pieces are vast. Prices not always the lowest, but - you get what you pay for, and they do have good sales.

I bought a bed with headboard. When they came to set it up, told me my old frame would not support the 10 year warranty for the bed. I had spent $2000.00 on the bed already. The salesman said nothing about the frame. When I called the store during delivery they said they could send someone else out with a frame for $73.00. I was forced to spend more money just to get my bed. I had several other furniture pieces to buy. Slumberland has lost my business forever. I went to another store and got awesome customer service. I purchased the rest of my furniture there. I am in customer service as a career, this was definitely the wrong approach.

My husband and I went to Slumberland Furniture to buy an adjustable bed and individually wrapped coil mattress and that is the only thing we looked at. The salesman asked me about a pillow top mattress and I told him NO!!! So in the end we assumed we bought an individually wrapped coil mattress, but I never went in the bedroom when they set up the bed, and never had a pillow top mattress before, so until my son was helping my husband to rearrange our bedroom my son asked us why we didn't buy the mattress we wanted in shock we both told him we had and he informed us that mattress was a pillow top not the coil mattress.
Contacted Slumberland and they said we bought the pillow top not the coil, so the only thing we can come up with is they falsified the sale to cover the store, because that bed cost us 1,400.00 and the frame was on sale for less than $300.00. The rest was minus pillow, taxes and delivery of $647.00, we paid $753.00 for a pillow top mattress. Unfortunately we misplaced the receipt from Slumberland and cannot prove they are lying. I hope in my old mind I eventually find the receipt so that I can prove what they are. Please if anyone is thinking about buying from Slumberland Furniture research them first, they are nothing but CROOKS!!!

I moved to Shakopee MN. on 1/1/19, so decided to purchase all new major furniture. I purchased a sectional at 'Slumberland Furniture" for 3,099 plus tax & delivery with a few other items. Because I work so many hours per week (up to 74), I never got time to inspect it thoroughly, until this weekend 2/26/19. I notice the two pieces are different colors and textures. I called the manager immediately, his response is that I should have filed a complaint within the first five days, sorry no apology or consideration for return.
My response: We live in a fast-paced world where "time is of the essence", I thought and believed that their products are of quality and satisfaction is guaranteed, so I never bothered to inspect all their pieces until I had time (my vacation week), and not only is the sectional two colors and textures, the ottoman had a big chunk of wood missing from one of the legs (first they blamed me for it), then they decided to replace it. I Urge YOU to Please be aware of purchasing furniture from this company. After it gets delivered, it is almost impossible to return if you find that it is defective, without going to court.

Bought the Moldova Brown Sectional three years ago. Had a two year warranty and about 1.5 years in noticed the couch leather was starting to peel. Thought ok it’s not too bad but a few months later noticed it was spreading all over the seat. Called right when the warranty was ending and they sent a guy out to look at it. He came back and said that we must have spilled something on it so it’s now peeling. First of all, real cowhide leather doesn’t peel. When I said that he told me that they paint the leather so it all matches and that paint is what is peeling off. False advertising! So they said, "Sorry we won’t do anything for you."
Now three years later there are multiple cushions peeling on the seats. Clearly where we sit and where the “leather” is rubbing together and on the seams. We paid over $3,500 with tax and delivery and this is what we get. Do not buy this sectional. Slumberland should be pretty ashamed how they treat their customers and back their products when they fail so quickly. If they would have stated that this is painted leather we would never have bought it.

After only a few years on a mildly used $4000.00 sofa (no kids and only evening use) the exterior started falling apart. The seating is leather and is fading quickly, but the sides are vinyl and that is what is peeling apart. I had paid for an extra warranty, but they said that only covers accidents like cuts and burns. They would not help repair this without me paying for it. The promises of the sales staff are worth as much as their warranty - I will never purchase from them again.

I got a couch from Slumberland Furniture in Delavan WI. I only had it since Dec 2017 and now I'm my third set of cushions. The manager Jason called me since I called corp and asked if I lay on my couch and he would not get me a new couch since it would happen even if I got a different couch from their store. I said, "So you're telling me your couches are not reliable.." Jason claimed he would look into this matter.. Then corp again.. Meanwhile Jason called back and said he will have the cushions sent to his store to review them from the couch that have at the store. I'm thinking bait and switch because the store one has been sat on or laid on and he might do that.. then Jason asked me if I sleep on my couch... who does that?? So I lost it and told him off and said I'm calling corp again.
A nice lady named Cheryl went out of her way and told the store, "Give her the money back." Jason said, "No. I'm ordering new cushions." She said nothing she can do since they're a franchise and isn't it against franchise rules not to use corporate policies. Please help me. I have contacted even the news.. thank you for your time.

I received a call today from Lee ** from Slumberland. I again told him of my experience with my purchases. I told him I was so upset and disappointed. He asked me to send pictures of the furniture. I did. He later phoned back and said because we were loyal customers, they would take care of the problem. Even though the dresser was out of manufacture warranty, they were willing to fix the top. So, I will revise my former review, and see how this ends. Thank you.

We recently moved to Quad Cities. After a year we purchased a home, so we needed more furnishings. In total we bought 2 living room sets, a four piece set of matching tables, a bedroom set, and a large entertainment center. Let's start with the matching tables for the living room. The coffee table has a shelf on the bottom. Constructed very poorly, it broke. Phoned customer service, and she said $50 for the tech to look and see if it is a manufacture defect...or something we did to the table. We are in our 60s and our stuff has been taken very good care of. Moving on. The bedroom set...went into guest room the other day and noticed where the top was seamed and joined had split. The split is about 8" long and you can clearly see that it just split.
Too bad, so sad. You purchased it, and it is beyond the one year manufacture, so you own it. I was furious to say the least. We have spent a ton of money there, and they simply do not care. I would NEVER, EVER, EVER RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING FROM SLUMBERLAND. They get your $$, and you get crap. I only wish I had looked into reviews first...shame on me. Had I read them, I would have steered clear. Word for the wise...just because it looks good, doesn't mean it is. Please go somewhere else.

Dips right in the middle - The most uncomfortable mattress I have ever owned. I bought it at Slumberland just 3 years ago, I called them within the first 6 months and told them early on that there was a problem and was informed that they had a 30 day policy. But the mattress company had a longer policy, I called and wrote and never got a reply. The store suggested I turn the mattress which I did, it never made a difference. I hate to think of other people spending 3,000 dollars on such a ** product. I even hated paying it off because I was making payments at the time. I am getting ready to look for a new mattress and it's a shame on something that was supposed to be guaranteed for 10 years. I have slept on the couch more lately than in bed. It is so uncomfortable.

My fiancé and I were directed to Slumberland for our furniture needs. While there, we found a queen bedroom set that we both liked due to the style and color of furniture. Additionally, we bought a mattress set, including box springs. We had a large purchase price. My fiancé went as far to finance through them and was approved for a larger number than what we needed. Additionally, we placed a large down payment. During the entire "shopping" experience, we were never told about the product nor was explained that everything was considered "final." That being said, we waited TWO weeks for the product to be delivered. My fiancé and I went to set up the furniture set and noticed splotches of tiny pin like holes in random locations on the headboard, footboard, dresser, mirror of dresser and chest. The nightstand was in good condition. Called that night, immediately after finding, and was told to call in the AM and speak to a Scott.
My fiancé made the call the next morning to this individual and was told "this is the way it's suppose to be - it's a distressed look." Additionally was told that "the wood does that." I then call on my lunch break and speak with a lady who continually places me on hold, basically gives me the same runaround about the distressed appearance. Interestingly enough, the floor model didn't resemble this distress look and our nightstand from the SAME set doesn't display the distressed look. Eventually they re-route my call to a gentleman named John - who apparently supervises the selling of this product. John, an extremely rude individual, attempts to tell me the same runaround. After points are made about the floor model - he shouts "no refunds, no exchanges" repeatedly.
After asking to speak to someone above him - his manager, he tells me he is the highest there is. John, the same individual, who told me to take pictures of the product and bring it in to the store - approximately 8 miles from our home in Sioux City, no big deal - then tells me he lives in Mississippi. I don't know how John was planning to look at the pictures then... when called on this, he had nothing to say except "no sales, no exchanges."
This store sells poor quality furniture which matches their poor quality customer service. We are now stuck with damaged bedroom set, even though we were under the impression, we would get a set that matched the quality of the floor model. Slumberland hides behind their claim that "it's the distressed" appearance, although the furniture description doesn't describe the furniture as distressed. Slumberland had the potential to make additional money, however because they are inept at feigning appropriate customer service skills, they will no longer receive any business from us.

They are a terrible company. Bought a bed from them and the springs broke causing a huge depression in the bed that made it so you could not sleep on the bed. I had a "10 year warranty" but it would not be covered because I had on 3 slats, not 5 under my bed. The thing was sagging 5 inches and they thought an extra slats would fix the problem. It clearly would not but they wanted me to pay an extra $35 for an evaluation so they could find another issue. Their customer service is awful and their warranties are worth nothing. Avoid this store. If you buy at Slumberland you should expect to get screwed one way or another. It's what they specialize in and they sure don't care about the customer.

My wife and I bought a 2500.00 Johansen complete mattress/box springs from Slumberland in 2006 with warranty and all the protection for both pieces. 3 years later in 2009 that mattress failed, we filed a warranty claim for excessive sagging. We received a credit for that mattress and went back to Slumberland and with a partial credit we added an additional 1450.00 and purchased a totally different, top of the line Beautyrest (Black) Luxury mattress that had a 10 yr warranty that cost over 3000.00. Now in December of 2016 that mattress has failed where it is like sliding out of bed where the mattress frame and coils have collapsed. Slumberland warranty center says Mattress is not under warranty because I was under the previous mattress warranty. I explained that I purchased a totally separate mattress, added almost 1500.00 more and that had a10 yr warranty.
Customer service said it didn't matter and Slumberland was not going to cover. I asked to speak to supervisor and this supervisor would NOT take my call. I was told I had to put in a request and a supervisor would call me back in 1 to 2 business days. I asked the customer service if the supervisor was there? She said yes but again the supervisor would not take my call. This particular supervisor was throwing this poor customer service person under the bus. Horrible, Horrible Supervisor. Now I am wanting to contact the owner of Slumberland. Then when I FINALLY received the furniture. It was damaged and scratched. I had to jump through hoops trying to talk to the right person to come pick the furniture up so I could return it under the "30 day satisfaction guarantee". It has been short of hell trying to get to the right person that knows anything.
The manager at the Ramsey store doesn't seem to know what he should and shouldn't say to the customers as he promises things that I'm finding out in a hurry that are NOT True! Adult owned sofa and love seat with no pets or children in our home. Our furniture was delivered and within a few months the fabric was showing wear, fraying and pulling apart on the seat cushion. The (electric) recliner was rubbing wood against wood and squeaks when used. Then, we received a recall notice to unplug and stop using the recliner because of a Fire Hazard. It was several months before the problem was resolved by sending us two new switches (one for the love seat and one for the sofa) which we had to self-install. We then moved to Texas and called upon arrival to have the damaged sofa repaired thru the extended warranty. The sales person said ext warranty covered the furniture completely including the fabric.
Calling the company to make the claim for damage to the fabric and the reclining mechanism, we were told they never warranty fabric wear and sent someone to look at the mechanism. The person they sent out said the rubbing of the wood was not a warranty issue and there was nothing they could do. EXTENDED WARRANTY IS A BIG WASTE OF MONEY!! We've had this furniture just over 2 years and the padding has flattened and is lumpy on the seats, seat backs, and armrests and the fabric looks matted and worn throughout. The front of sofa and love seat is sagging. Looks like used thrift store furniture and is embarrassing.
We will NEVER purchase from Slumberland again. This furniture is used by adults only and we'll be finished paying for it in 2 months and can't wait to throw in the garbage to buy new. This was supposed to be quality furniture. Our mistake for believing Slumberland and never again. DON'T SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY ON THE WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY DON'T COVER ANYTHING THAT TYPICALLY GOES WRONG!

I purchased my Stearns and Foster set just 3 years ago. I have had backaches and terrible migraines for the last year in this bed. I paid over $3400 for this mattress set and when I sent in all the pictures required for the warranty to Slumberland customer service, they informed me that even though I have a 1.5 inch sag on each side, the manufacturer will not warranty the product because the manufacturer requires 3 center posts and 5 slats on each side for a king bed on wood frames. Mine has only 1 center post and 4 slats on each side. However, I bought this bed from Slumberland, the sales person made no mention of the special requirements for this bed when I bought it.
The warranty lady kept saying it is the customer's responsibility to ensure they know what the warranty is and that they read it fully. My logic is if I bought it from you and your people installed it in my frame, shouldn't you at least point me in the right direction to ensure that I know I need a new bed frame. I would have bought one had I known that I would have to do this all over again in just a few years. The mattress set I had before lasted 10 years before I even had to think about replacing it. (In this same frame) I will not buy Stearns and Foster again, I will also never shop at Slumberland again if they are going to have such inept sales people. Now I have to go find a new bed after all the sales are done, thank you Slumberland and Stearns and Foster for a terrible experience.

A little over a year ago we purchased a $2000.00 king size, Beauty Rest mattress from Slumberland. Within the course of the year the mattress began to sag on either side of the bed where we sleep. Both my wife and I are slender people so it wasn't due to weight, and even if it was it shouldn't have sagged over that short of a period of time. We filed a claim with Slumberland. They asked us to send several pictures of the mattress, the bed frame, the box springs and the support system. Our bed had an inner steel frame with a steel I-beam support in the middle. They eventually called us back saying that our claim was rejected because the CENTER I-beam didn't have any leg supports underneath it.
As I mentioned, the sagging in the bed was occurring on either side of the center of the mattress. So the implication that the sagging was due to a lack of center support made no sense at all. Furthermore, the center beam was a solid steel I-beam, combined with box springs on top. There was no reason whatsoever that any sagging should have occurred. We are now stuck with a $2000.00 mattress that is less than 2 years old and has a nearly 2 inch sag on both sides of our bed. It's like sleeping in a bowl. Needless to say, we will never be purchasing another mattress from Slumberland.

However, the correct sectional is VERY uncomfortable not like the one I ordered. I am hesitating to call them to take it a way. However, for the price I am going to call! We tried numerous times to file a claim on our sectional and they always had an excuse as to why we couldn't (waited too long to report it, previously reported, didn't get the email) so we ended up with a $2000 sectional that is a piece of JUNK. We have had it almost 3 years and I wouldn't give it away in the condition it is in. Parts have fallen out of it, stuffing had flattened or fallen out, rips, and the warranty company wouldn't take care of any of it. Recommendation, don't buy an extended warranty. It won't cover anything like the salesman said.

I purchased a mattress for over $600 and it is clearly uneven. Slumberland sent a sketchy independent consultant to evaluate. The consultant agreed that one side is firmer than the other, he measured and took photos showing that by laying a string across bed with weights on each side that the interior of the mattress is over an inch higher than the other side. He recommended proper support and I moved the box spring and mattress to the floor and still the same result. Slumberland will not exchange or refund this purchase and I am shocked. I am currently now purchasing another mattress.

Went to buy a bed. Was a return customer. Was suggested this and that bed and felt pressure to pick that night. When a couple is split, shouldn't be rushed but we did t come home with buyer's remorse. We stopped the transaction for several reasons. One being we were split in type of bed. Second, the surprise package of 219.00 for bed cover and pillow covers. Told don't matter if we have our own. Have to buy one of the Slumberland brands to get the 120 day trial. Ok. I get that. They want a clean bed. If you don't want the bed but tell people clearly that you are actually paying for that 120 day trial by buying a cover.
What upset me was not only did they want me to buy a cover but a bed bag to zip it in. Absurd. So glad we stopped it all as they tacked on a extra 300 for what we thought was part of the bed deal and it isn't. So be warned. You get 120 days to try the bed but you totally have to buy a protector even if you have your own. So what happens to the bed someone who had bought the protector but never used because they hate the type or just don't like it and returns that bed that the store required them to cover and can't prove they put on the bed in the first place. What happens to that bed? It's sold as a used bed at a lower cost. Never will you know if your bed had its cover over it.
So they are banking by making the consumer to buy a cover for that bed 120 trial. You are basically buying a rubber for your bed. How? Well, that's a thought now isn't it? Who changes sheets, takes off cover, forgets to put it back on? How can they salute you? They can't. So the strong arm tactic of buying your 120 day trial rubber is pointless.

We purchased an adjustable bed on July 5, 2015 to the tune of damn 3000 bucks. The bed could not be delivered until July 15th - the bed was delivered and assembled w/ no issues. After trying the massage function later that day, the bed sounded like a helicopter taking off. Called ASAP to the Lincoln store where we had to leave a message - no call back until July 28th from some rude lady in SD. Finally got a service call one week later. Some tech came out and jiggled this & that with no resolution - told me that new motors would have to be ordered that would take 2-3 weeks to be delivered to my home, then I was to call the store to set up another service call. Motors arrived in the mail in 2.5 weeks, called, made an appt for a service call, took 3 days this time to get a call back to tell me the service dept was booked solid for 1.5 weeks.
FINALLY got a service tech out to replace the motors and again the bottom motor sounds like a helicopter - called the Lincoln store & demanded to speak to a manager. After an act of God to get Kenny on the phone, it was a 45 minute discussion with him telling me that they have never had issues w/ this type of bed, that he has one and his dog is afraid of the noise, to saying maybe it is the size of our room or possibly due to the flooring in the room. Finally I had to stop Kenny's conversation of excuses to tell him that I did not give a crap what the issues might be. I asked the protocol for return which was never answered but more excuses on how we may just need to live with the noise. NOT acceptable Kenny.
After yet another 30 minutes of Kenny rambling, I finally was told they would replace the frame. Took 6 days to get a new frame. Mind you by this time we have made 2 payments on a bed that did not work properly. The new frame is still noisy and IS NOT what we tried in the store when we purchased, the bed in the store was extremely quiet. Kenny never offered a refund, money off the purchase price, nothing - other than his ramblings of how there have never been issues w/ this bed and ramblings of his super small bedroom and his dog. Super poor customer service for a manager. Kenny even called and left a rambling message the next day that he tried his bed again and yep the dog is still afraid, who cares Kenny. Will NEVER buy from this place again nor recommend to anyone.

I tried calling and left several messages with no return phone calls from anyone. This was really annoying!
When I finally was able to talk to Tyler, the salesman that sold me the couch, he seemed nice. He was going on vacation and offered to get back to me in a week, which almost 2 weeks later, he called me. Called store and spoke with salesman and he accused someone of sitting on the arm. No one sat on the arm. After persistence a "repairman" came to our residence and "repaired the broken arm". I was shown the wood frame in the arm by the repairman. It was broken at a large knot which was over half of the thickness of the wood piece. I observed other parts of the frame to being "knotty". The repairman filled the hollow arm cavity with expanding insulation foam and stated that he has done this repair multiple times on this brand of furniture because of the inferior "knotty wood" that is used in manufacture. He did not repair the broken wood.
I called the store and requested a replacement of this sofa because it wasn't even surviving its first year. The sofa's manufacturing warranty covers "defects relating to the frame" for a ten year period. The salesman stated "no can do" and more or less "too bad". The frame continued to deteriorate and fall apart. The cheap fiberboard was separating and the joints started to separate. The sofa had not been moved and was sagging in the front. Slumberland refused anymore repairs. I reinforced the joints and replaced the broken knotty frame to get some life out of the sofa. Two weeks ago I got a call from Customer Service saying the bar stools I ordered would arrive at the store and that the store would call me when they arrived. I called today to see what happened as I never received a phone call. The man that answered the phone said they were shipped back because I hadn't come to get them in the 10 day time frame. I replied saying I never received a call, to which he said that since I placed the order online there was nothing he could do - it wasn't his problem.
I said ok, “so what do you recommend I do?” He said he would transfer me to customer service and before I could say anything else I was transferred to CLAIMS where they started asking me about the damage. I said, there's no damage I haven't even received the furniture (that were already bought and paid for btw). I told her I was frustrated, I knew it wasn't her fault, but this needed to be made right. The woman said she would see what she could do. She put me on hold for several minutes and returned saying she was able to move some things around and I could pick them up today. Fine, fixed.
It's what happened when I went to pick up the stools that really got me. As soon as I gave the salesman my name, he showed my ticket to all his colleagues and they proceeded to laugh as if I wasn't there saying "oh, that's her". Then after they subdued their laughter the man said I talked to you on the phone today, and I said yes, I wasn't very happy about the situation. He then asked one of his colleagues to assist him in bringing the stools out to my car and his colleague said in a childish voice "I'm a jerk, I can't help, I'm such a jerk" rolling his eyes, and laughing the entire time. It wasn't even the guy I talked to on the phone and I never called anyone a jerk!
I will NEVER make another purchase from Slumberland simply because of their immaturity and lack of respect I received from the sales personnel. I encourage all my friends to shop elsewhere, this type of humiliation is not what I consider good customer service.

I notified Slumberland and today they called and told me if I wanted it fixed it would cost me 150.00. I don't understand this. I feel like they are taken me. I told them I couldn't afford to pay this as I am a 71 yr old women on oxygen with a collapsed lung and have lots of medical bills. I have no children in my house so there is no reason the leather should start to fray, it looks terrible. The couch cost me 1300.00. I hope some one can help me get this fixed.

On two separate purchases I paid for delivery. I told them that I could only accept delivery in the am hours. For the first delivery they called and scheduled a pm delivery which I cancelled and reminded them I could only take a am delivery. They explained that due to the way they scheduled deliveries that would not be possible. I said well then I can't take delivery. They called 3 more times trying to scheduled a pm delivery. I finally told them I was going to cancel the order. The manager said that was probably the best thing to do. The salesperson intervened and I had a am delivery. The second purchase was the same crap as the first and the salesperson again intervened and scheduled a am delivery. What should have been a pleasurable experience turned into nothing but a miserable experience. I would never recommend anyone to purchase anything from Slumberland.

I purchased a mattress set from Slumberland in Saint Louis, MO. This is not my first time buying furniture from them and never had problems before because I always keep what I bought, good or bad. With the mattress set, I was sold a supporting board for the bed which weighs way too much for a female to move by herself. I made sure before purchasing that it is returnable if somehow something is wrong with it. The rep (Lisa) said: "Don't worry, we'll take care of it if it doesn't fit." After arrival of the mattress set and supporting board, I immediately (same day) called them to notify that the board does not fit. Because I was moving, the bed set arrived after Slumberland purchase was delivered and was not able to test the fit when their delivery people was still at my property.
Few weeks and 7 phone calls later, of which most of the time I was being ignored... All their words are as bad as a compulsive liar's. They promised they will refund my money, which never happened. Also, they kept on telling me that "they cannot schedule somebody to come over to pick it up". I find that very hard to believe because when I buy something, they deliver within 3 days. Am I really the only customer they have that there was never a delivery truck out? If I am, then they just lost their only customer because I will never go back.
I explained to them that the board is heavy and I cannot move it myself. It's blocking access to my clothing closet in the master bedroom, which happens to be the one I use most. Clearly, they don't give a flying "stuff" about their customers and only care about making temporary sales. I have told all my friends to never buy a furniture from Slumberland unless they like receiving mediocre service and being lied on. Now, it's up to me to pay a mover to remove their junk product. They sure know how to take advantage of customers that had already went through disasters, highly unethical. Please do yourselves a favor and shop elsewhere.

We purchased a Franklin rocking/reclining loveseat from Slumberland in Wausau, WI in April of 2008 for $845. After three years we noticed the seat on the left side began to lean back a little too far when you sat and tried to read. It worked fine on the left side and also reclined as it should. As time went on it became more pronounced and was almost impossible to sit upright and we decided to have them come to our house and see about repairing it so we could sell it and buy two separate chairs.
The parts have a lifetime warranty but we were willing to pay the $60 to come and see what needed repaired. This was on Sept. 25 of 2013. The seat is in otherwise perfect condition and we hoped to sell it well before Christmas, when we wanted it out of the house. After two months of phone calls and the runaround, the part needed was never received by Slumberland. After the first three weeks when we called, it appeared they had neglected to order the part, which was the entire portion for the bottom of the recliner. Then after another three weeks we called to find out what the status was. It was shipped on Nov. 6 we were told.
On Nov. 29 I called again to see where the part was. I was told that "it was lost in shipping" and they would have to start the process again of ordering it. I told them to forget it and sold the loveseat to a friend for $100 just to get it out of the house. It is still usable. It was just the one back was going back too far, and I wanted it to be in good enough condition to sell it, so was willing to pay for the labor. Didn't happen and needless to say, our new furniture wasn't purchased from them. If it wasn't for our persistence, I think we would still be sitting waiting for us to call them. The service person only works until 2pm so it was difficult to contact this person unless we could get to a phone during those hours. Very disappointed.

From the Fargo store she got every lie imaginable - that the Bemidji company had set the wrong deliver day, that my daughter was confused on the delivery day, that the Bemidji store had not sent it over. Turns out that he did not have the bed in stock, but none of it was his fault even though we had the order to show him showing that he was in the wrong. My daughter had several nights without a bed. There was no apology from the Fargo store and no compensation given for his mistake/mismanagement. We bought a new mattress and box spring at the Slumberland Clearance Center in June. In order to be able to exchange it if it was not what we wanted after sleeping on it for 60 days, we had to spend $52 on a mattress protector which had to be used for the 60 days. The mattress protector made the bed hot and sweaty and it was noisy, it crinkled whenever we moved. After about a week I tried to return the mattress protector and was told that it wasn't returnable. I was also told that it is not hot and sweaty and not loud.
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Slumberland rejected my complaint once again saying that the mattress protector is not uncomfortable. They said that new mattresses improve circulation and that is why I was hot and sweaty. Ironically, I have not experienced either since I took the protector off of the mattress. Slumberland also stated that other stores that don't require a protector have a restocking fee for exchanging a mattress. It is one thing to pay a restocking fee, but Slumberland's policy makes you pay a fee (the cost of the protector) whether you exchange the mattress or not. It is like having to pay an exorbitant price for a plastic mattress and also having to pay a fee even if you won't be exchanging the mattress.

The salesman Greg was pleasant and even went so far as to sell us an extended furniture care plan for $179. He told us it covered everything even scratches and that Slumberland would fix any problem in our home. The furniture was delivered and we loved it. Then the finish started to come off of the dresser within a week. When we called, Greg was out so we spoke to the manager. The manager told my wife that "the finish coming off is normal". I have two brothers that make a living in woodworking and they don't think the finish coming off of new furniture within a month is normal. Slumberland will send a third party service man to look at our furniture to see if they can do anything about it.
My points are these. First, DO NOT BUY any extended furniture care program from this company. Second, inspect your new furniture at delivery for any problems and if there are any even tiny problems just refuse the shipment until things are as they promised. How they handle this problem will determine if I ever buy anything from this company again. It will also determine the level of my determination to tell everyone I know of the outcome good or bad. So as it is the ball is Slumberland's court. Their response good or bad will be shared with all I know.

It needs to be a 1.5" dip or more to qualify for replacement! This mattress is a piece of junk! We’ve never had one so bad. Our mattresses typically last 10-15 years, and we are now considering throwing this one out and buying a new one after 2 months! We’re very disappointed!

I have had the couch for 6 months and called the store and told them I had some cat scratches and would like them fixed so no further damage would become of it. They, at the Slumberland store in Sioux Falls, informed me that Furniture Care would not cover pets scratches or punctures but to go ahead and call. I did and they said the same thing.
I called Slumberland in Sioux Falls, SD back and spoke with Craig and told him his saleswoman stated several times that this would be covered and he told me they are all coached and sorry (no "Sorry, who was the sales person?" No "let's see what we can do to help"). I want to be reimbursed at the least for the Furniture Care and he states again that nothing can be done, he is not changing his mind. So, beware of Perri and the Sioux Falls Slumberland as they will falsely tell you anything to make a sale. This was sold under false pretenses and management should be held responsible and discipline the employee who lies. Some of the other salespeople informed me that she tells all the customers that pet scratches, claw punctures are covered under the Furniture Care. I purchased a Sealey Posturepedic Preferred Series - Ginger Creek mattress last October 2010 from Slumberland. I was under the impression that the mattress pad they offered to sell to me was optional. My son went with me and thought the same. And I had my own mattress protection cover I used. After a month, the mattress was sagging terribly, and I went to the store to see about an exchange. I was told that since I didn't purchase the special mattress pad from them, I voided the contract. I had water damage in my home and was given $650 to buy a new mattress. Also, I'm on a limited income and didn't have the extra $60 to buy their mattress cover.
Anyway, they gave me the 800 number and told me to contact them. A representative came out and said the mattress was defective and that I could make a one-time change even though the store told me I couldn't. I went back to the store to pick out another mattress, and I thought I was getting a more firm mattress with a cushion top. The first few nights, I swore I was sleeping on a board. So I purchased from another store a 3-inch memory foam, but that was too thick on top of the mattress for sheets and mattress pad. Then I took that back and purchased a 1.5-inch memory foam which made it some better.
Ever since I've had these new mattresses, I've had back problems. I recently said, "The heck with it," and I took the mattress out of my bedroom. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. The shame is that the store has their money, and I've had a great hassle with this mattress ordeal and I'm out of money.
The mattress that was damaged and I had to replace was a 20-year-old Sealey which has been an excellent mattress. This is the reason that I thought I wanted another Sealey, but it was a bad, bad decision. The new ones are a piece of crap. I sometimes wonder if the stores don't carry a better floor model than what actually is delivered to the customer. The mattress that I tried out in the store was not hard like this one is. My 20-year-old mattress has substance to it; the new one is a piece of crap.
After reading some of the customer service comments that have been sent to you, I realized that I'm not the only one that made a bad choice to purchase a new Sealey. And I'll never buy another Sealey.

On Feb. 13, 2009, we purchased a La-Z-Boy recliner item #901140296-001-005, style #010553 from Slumberland Furniture, Sioux Falls, SD. The sales representative who assisted us was Karon **, who was very helpful. We wanted to have a swivel base put on this chair, so we therefore could not take it home with us. I might add that we live 45 miles from Sioux Falls in Madison, SD. Consequently, we went back to Sioux Falls on February 17th and picked up our chair. The chair from day one never seemed to sit quite straight and made this snapping-cracking noise. We should have done something about it then, but decided to give it some time.
Finally, my husband could not stand it anymore. It was even getting on my nerves just sitting across the room from him. So during the 1st week in May 2009, I called Slumberland and complained to our sales rep Karon **. She was very understanding and connected me with Tyson, the services rep. He told me to bring it in and they would look at it. So on May 8, 2009, I (a woman) took the back off of the chair and loaded the (2) pieces in my pickup as my husband was out of town. I drove to Sioux Falls, went into Slumberland and asked for Karen, the sales rep. She was so helpful and even helped me pick out a new chair! Then, we went up to the front desk to put in my order. They paged John **, the store manager, (Note: Both he and the sales rep have the same last name). I was connected to him via the intercom phone. He asked me what the problem was and I told him everything and he said, "It sounds like you need a new chair".
I was then told to drive back to the pickup and delivery area to leave the chair. I did as instructed and waited and waited for about 15 minutes. Finally, the door opened. By then, I had already unloaded the (2) pieces of the chair by myself as I was in a hurry due to another engagement. The service guy pushed them inside. I asked if I should sign anything, he looked at some paper and said, "just wait a minute, the manager wants to talk to you". So the manager arrived. He did not say "hello, how are you? Sorry for your trouble" He was just plain angry. He did not even put the back on the chair and did not sit in the chair. All he did was spin the seat portion around a couple of time and said, "There is nothing wrong with this chair". He was not at all friendly about it and said, "you people are always trying to pull this!". I asked him what he meant by that. I said, "I am not one of those people" and that his customer service attitude was absolutely uncalled for.
I assumed he was trying to make a point of the date of purchase vs date of complaint. I had not even given that a thought. I did not even know about the 90 days deadline. After we had a few words, I said plainly "I am not taking this chair home until it is fixed". So I left the chair and the next day, I called Tyson the service rep. He was cooperative and said he would do what he could. A week or so later, Tyson actually delivered the chair to our residence in Madison (of course, they were coming with another delivery also). Well much to our dismay, the chair still snapped, cracked and sat uneven. I then called another local La-Z-Boy dealer and got the name of a dealer rep named Gary, I believe from Minneapolis. I left my phone number at the local dealer and they were kind enough to have him call me, which he did. He promised to stop and look at the chair the next time he was in Madison. That has been several months ago and we have never seen or heard from him again. We know he has been in Madison because we checked with the local dealer.
Well in this final phase of my story, we again called Tyson at Slumberland complaining about the same old thing. He said to bring it down, so again we delivered the chair to Slumberland 45 miles away. We dropped it off, Tyson was there. My husband was along this time, so he actually sat in the chair and showed Tyson what it was doing. We left the chair there for about a month, calling him now and then to see what he found. He reported that he put new springs on it, took the swivel off (which cost us $75.00 to have put on at purchase time), said it might snap and crack just a little but that he was small than my husband! So what was he implying? That it will still snap and crack! My husband is not obese for heaven's sake.
Well, we told him to put the swivel back on. On Thursday July 8th, we again went to Sioux falls and picked up the chair. We got it home and guess what? We still have a snapping and cracking La-Z-Boy recliner! We are so disappointed with La-Z-Boy. We have always bought La-Z-Boy recliners. Did we just get a lemon? Or does Slumberland deal with seconds? We paid $638.99 for this chair. It certainly seems it should last. Whatever happened to lifetime warranty!

The technician came out and said that the mattresses were stained and call again when cleaned. We cleaned them before and after. It's not like they can re-sell the mattresses.
I called Slumberland back up and they said that we were told to clean them and it's a hazard for them to honor the guarantee unless we professionally have the set cleaned. I contacted Slumberland, because the mattress had a 10-year warranty that covered squeaks/rattles. Slumberland charged me $35 to have an inspector come to my home to decide if the mattress was warranty-claimable. The inspector said that it was defected.

I went to the store to talk to the manager who had originally sold me the mattress. He told me to contact customer service. I decided to contact Sealy.
I waited a few more weeks to get a claim packet from Sealy. I filled it out and mailed it back and then heard nothing for about 12 weeks. Sealy was unwilling to help, since Slumberland was still in business. I called Sealy to explain that Slumberland was not honoring the warranty and they basically said "tough." I contacted Slumberland again, and they wanted to send out an inspector for another $35 fee.
I give up. No one is willing to take responsibility for a horrible mattress. I was unable to have my newborn's bassinet at my bedside, because the mattress's squeaks would wake him up. We slept in the living room for about 3 months. I will never shop at Slumberland or buy another Sealy! It's been 3 long years of sleeping on a crappy mattress!

I purchased a Lazy boy recliner on 9/10/2006, also paid extra for leather care protection, which gave a five-year warranty. Total cost was $1,074. In September of this year, I was cleaning the chair and the color started coming off on my cloth. Looking closer, the seat of the chair has lost a lot of color and the arm of the chair was the worst with color loss.
I called the warranty people and set appointment for them to look at the chair. The repair came out, looked at the chair. We took pictures to send in. A few weeks later the warranty people called and said it was not covered because it was a leather problem. (I have been working on this since September of 2009 and it is now 1-28- 2010.) I called the lazy boy customer service and I was told I had only a one-year warranty on the leather. I contacted the store again (many calls). Finally today (1-28-09), after all this time, they just told me you are out of luck.

Paid for extended warranty on recliner but stated I had to transport chair to store to repair it or I had to put parts in myself. I am disabled and can't do this. This chair cost 1000 dollars and was supposed to be under warranty when purchased with a 60.00 extended warranty. Left arm sewing came undone from chair. Recliner foot rest bolts came off. Chair is not abused by children in home. I would like reimbursement for this chair or have these items fixed in home or removed. Chair pruchased in Oct. 05 and calls were made in Aug 06 and 07.
