At Slumberland, the salesperson told us of a set of barstools in the back that were being discontinued but we're "high end". We bought 4. They were really attractive, dark wood, padded seats. Well, after about 2 weeks, the padding flattened (my husband and I are not big people) and now they hurt to sit on, we just feel the wood seat frame. What a rip off! It's been several months, so we can't return them, but beware of fast talking sales people. Shame on Slumberland!

I purchased a pillow, the last one I purchased was almost 10 years ago & it was wonderful. I purchased a new one, spent $87 & it's hard, couldn't rest my head for even 5 minutes. When I walked the store today, was told by Andrew S, the manager, he couldn't do anything, because they can't exchange or refund me. he was extremely rude, I didn't want a refund, I wanted to get a different pillow. We've bought furniture there in the past & was planning on buying again. But NOT now, they've lost our business. I should have been told when I purchased the pillow about no refund or exchanges. Poor customer service.

I want to warn anyone who purchases from Slumberland to be cognizant of their current process and practices. We purchased a sectional and have had several delays getting our furniture delivered. The first question I asked the salesmen when inquiring about the furniture was how soon could it be delivered. This factored in our decision when purchasing as other businesses were several weeks out. I was assured the furniture would be delivered within 2 weeks and was given an approximate delivery date.
A few days prior I contacted the salesman to confirm our delivery, and he assured me we were on the schedule for 2/27 but it would be close as one piece had not arrived from the vendor. Three days before our scheduled delivery day I received a text message stating our delivery was scheduled and I needed to confirm our address, delivery place, and some other data like did the delivery person need to utilize stairs or fit the furniture through tight corners. I completed the information and was expecting the furniture to come.
The night Prior we had our old furniture removed and planned for the delivery. The prior text stated I would get a call the day of with the exact delivery time, but the day came, and no one called with a time. So I reached out and was then notified that my items had been removed from the delivery truck as a footrest did not come in as expected 2 days earlier so my furniture was removed from the delivery truck and delivery would now be pushed out and an additional 2 weeks approximately as they had no other available delivery times. I was never contacted when the footrest didn't come in, I was never called when the delivery was canceled to discuss any alternatives.
Quite honestly if they had delivered the pieces that were already loaded on the truck we could have picked up the footrest when it arrived without a problem, But no communication with the customer occurred. This now left our family without any living room seating. The only other option that was offered was having the furniture delivered to the local store and we would have to manage delivery to our home from there on our own, which was not a feasible option. They declined to provide a partial refund or discount due to the delay and they refused to get the items to us promptly knowing we removed all of our old furniture because we had a scheduled delivery day with text confirmation. So if you order from them please do not get rid of your old furniture unless you have an exact time.
The salesman was apologetic and very kind however they were not able to provide a solution to the issue caused by their process of notifying us of delivery but not calling us when they canceled our delivery. Due to this issue and Slumberland's inability to provide a solution we do not recommend purchasing furniture from them when needed promptly or relying on their delivery service.

Not impressed with their delay very service or their price for it. It is ridiculously high for some kid just out of high school delivering our purchase in through a partial muddy yard not even caring about wiping feet at all. Hey ok just track up our rug and to be lied to about it’s a great mattress is wrong. I slept better on our el cheapo mattress. I’ll never buy anything there again and in turn warned family and friends to do the same. Bargain City has better mattresses for half the price if not more

Customer Service is important to a business for reputation and repeat business! Not so at Slumberland, CR. After spending $1400.00 we were lied to about a manager returning our call and then a no name text thru a survey dismissed us totally. It says a lot about the Company!

The lever used to recline chair broke after 2 years. I’m basically the only one who uses the chair, so it was not abused. I filed a claim online and was told to call the store where it was purchased. The store closed over 6 months ago, so I called another store near us. I was given a number to call. After making that call, I was told to call a third number. After checking into it, I was told they made a mistake and I should follow through with original online claim. I received a response stating they could send someone to look at it for $175. If parts needed to be ordered, they come from China and that would take 3 1/2 months. Very disappointing. I’ll shop elsewhere in the future.

Buyer beware! We ordered a small sofa sectional online back in June and a delivery day keeps getting delayed and here we are in September and no guaranteed delivery date. Customer service has been everything but help. They are rude and are telling us we shouldn’t have purchased it online. They have offered nothing to make this right. About to have knee surgery in next week or so and basically we were told it’s our fault to use their online platform.

Don't buy any reclining chairs or couches from Slumberland. The recliner will fail and slumberland makes it a nightmare to use your warranty. Now I have a 5000 sectional that is complete junk in under 3 years and a huge gouge in my wood floor from the failure. Don't go to slumberland.

Great variety of furniture. After sitting in a variety of recliners, found the perfect one. Very helpful staff and delivering was outstanding! This is where I will also go in the future! Staff is kind, helpful and not at all pushy.

Just like all the other negative reviews I am adding mine. They make it sound like they've "got you covered" but they don't. They will find every reason NOT to. It's a hoax. And a waste of money. I'd like to know one person that has actually had this warranty cover something.

Bought La-z-boy chair in 9 months ago. Can feel loss of cushioning in back and can feel frame board through what's left of cushion on back of my thighs. Now I'm not a big guy like 220 pounds and work all day so not really in it a lot. So when started to notice this called about warranty and after a lot of frustration final response is this.
"Dear, While we strive to approve every claim, unfortunately your claim will remain non-covered per your manufacturer's warranties terms and conditions as the loss of resiliency on your recliner was determined to be normal wear from use and not a manufacturing defect. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out either by responding to this email or by calling us directly at 800-482-7512. Regards, Slumberland Service Center 800-482-7512 Slumberland.com." Normal wear of feeling frame jabbing back of my legs after 9 month of couple hours a day use. Will not be recommending anyone get furniture here. As matter of fact will be voicing the opposite to anyone who wants to now.

I got me a five year warranty on a recliner, called him up when it broke. Took him two weeks to get somebody out here to look at it and now it’s taking two weeks for parts to come and it still hasn’t gotten here. Don’t recommend Slumberland to anybody.

Bought a reclining couch and matching recliner chair. Both have started falling apart 3 1/2 months later. The Cushions have deteriorated so badly it's like sitting in a hole! I'm getting the run around and being refused a reselect due to 30 day return. Been given the run around by customer service. Put on hold and no one picks up. Lied to & treated with disrespect! Told to call & press 3. There is no 3! Told I would get a email from Jill - supervisor and never got the email. I called again and there is no Jill! Everyone, please go elsewhere for furniture! Slumberland is not a good company anymore. I will never step in their store again.

I bought a custom recliner from Slumberland. One of the airbags must have burst or slipped because sitting in the chair caused severe thoracic vertebrae pain. It was as if something sharp was pressing into my back. I called for repair, and they set it up. I stayed home that day waiting on the lady that was supposed to come. She did not come, or even call until after the appointed time. The phone call had such a bad signal I could not hear her and she didn't call back. I called 3 times to complain, even getting the store involved. After a week, they opened a new case for me. This time I got a text the day of, saying due to unforeseen circumstances she couldn't come. But she gave me a different date to select. The closest was 2 weeks out. So I waited and stayed home a third time and nobody showed up or called.
I called the service company, and the agent got her on another line, and she told him it was too far. They didn't have anyone in my area to service my call. So I was out of luck. I called the store demanding my money back for the chair and the 5-year warranty on all the furniture I bought as I didn't see the point of wasting another $500 on something that was useless to me. They agreed to give me a different chair. But it is a different color than the rest of my furniture. At that point I was just ready to be done. So, the moral of the story is that if you are purchasing electric furniture, and are interested in their 5 year warranty, make sure that they will actually service your area before you buy.

I bought a couch and a recliner on sale. I received it after 3 weeks. The horrible part is when the furniture was delivered I watched the guys hit my couch on the step rails outside. And then hit the couch again on my front door. They did not communicate how to get the couch in at an angle. They didn't take the feet off the couch so it would go into the door more easily. Now the couch leather is ripped to the wood. The end of one side of the couch the wood broke through the leather so there's wood chips on the carpet. I took pictures 9 of them. The delivery men stated it was like that when they picked it up. I called the st peters store and the manager did not care. Her exact words "sorry nothing I can do, I can take some money off if you keep it."
I went to the store in person also just to show them how bad the delivery was. The representative that sold me the pieces really tried to help, her words were "between me and you our delivery is terrible. They have ruined a lot of furniture and they don't care, you should be compensated more." They are coming to get the couch because it is ruined and I don't want it. The delivery manager at des peres location also said, "Sorry. There's nothing I can do." He refunded the couch and only half of the delivery fee. A service was provided and it was terrible which resulted in me not having a couch because that one was sold out of stock, and still paying for men who deliver furniture with no regard of keeping it fixed. I went to bob's furniture. Better pricing and better customer service. Shirley at bob's was amazing, and if bob's messes up the delivery they fix it. I will not shop or recommend Slumberland. I usually go to Ashley's or weekends only. If I could give this terrible company zero stars I would.

I purchased several pieces of furniture and a table set in early January 2022. I didn't like the furniture and they were not comfortable, so I decided to return them after a week. They refused to return them and said those were in the sale and are excluded from the manufacturer and product warranty. They also said that "We would deliver the table set in late March." Today is mid-May and after a thousand times calling them and talking with rude crazy representatives, they said, "You are in the queue and most likely will get your furniture in several weeks."
I kept asking for a firm delivery time, but the representative is a crazy nonsense person like an answering machine that is paid to repeat a single sentence she had been taught "We are not holding back your furniture, Sir". This is the worst experience that I had in my life and they will literally leave you with no option just to pay upfront and wait and wait and wait. Don't get fooled when you go to the store and see those cheerful representatives. They are trained to get you to purchase something and add you to their long waiting list.

When I bought my furniture I was happy with the experience in store. BUT then the issues started. I called to check on my furniture when the deadline I had been given in store passed and was treated poorly about my inquiry. I highly suggest they hire people to handle customer service instead of making the sales reps deal with customer issues as they clearly are not trained to deal with customer complaints. I was supposed to have my furniture in a few months and it has now been a year and I still have NO furniture and the deadline just keeps getting pushed further and further out with no good reason. They keep telling me it is COVID and supply chain reasons and I can take that excuse if it was delayed a few months even but at this point it is just crazy.
Having paid in full for furniture and not even remembering what it looks like because it has been so long is not ok and they don't care because they have my money. I will never go back there based on the experience I have had and this is the second time I bought from there. The first time was ok enough to be a repeat customer, this time was poor enough they have lost my business.

Last December 15, 2021, Slumberland Truck driver backed up in our driveway to unload a sofa and Damaged our vehicle that was park in the right side of our driveway. It was caught in the camera how close he parked his truck to our car but the Truck driver denied that he hit our car. I have his videos. Beware people because this person is very Dishonest! I am very sad knowing that there are dishonest people like him, how about those families that have no cameras outside of their properties? I would understand if he knocked in my door or leave a message and apologize. I am very frustrated how the insurance company and Slumberland handled this claim, we spent a lot of time sending proofs, videos and back and forth call/emails. This truck driver knows he damaged our car, accident happens but his Dishonesty is what bothers me most. I hope he realizes that, what he did was totally unacceptable and very unfair to us as customers.

My concern is I brought a table set with a warranty. Now I realize one of the chairs need repair. I believe it came that way but since it was floor model already put together was not notice. So I am frustrated because I feel I am now being stall for a replacement and I have called several times no solution. This is not good business and it has nothing to do with Cov19. Be aware consumers.

Called to check on custom furniture order as timeframe given at time order was placed had passed and was already padded to care for COVID. Was told order had been updated to indicate mid Dec. Asked why adding 7-8 weeks to order didn't generate a call. Was told they don't call anyone when orders are delayed. Customer service at its poorest.

I purchased a taupe colored sectional and bought the fabric protection. Within 2 years the fabric started changing to a light purple color. Spoke to numerous people in service and none called back or followed up. They said fabric protection didn’t apply to defective material. Manufacturer only guaranteed for one year. Waste of almost $3,000 and don’t believe them when they say 100% satisfaction guarantee. Worst service I’ve ever experienced and I was a Director of Customer Care for a large corporation.

David gave us plenty of personal space/time to think about our our choices of purchasing recliners. Always checking back with us to answer questions but still giving us that space. He wrote up our order, went over to double check it, and we were on our way.

Billy was kind and helpful without being overbearing. I have a difficult time making decisions, particularly when it comes to larger purchases. I had been shopping around and Billy offered the best customer experience by far. He was not pushy and kept me informed. While there are many options out there for furniture stores, it was an easy decision to spend my money on excellent customer service and a great quality bed.

The customer service was great. They greeted us at the door, pointed us in the right direction and then left us alone. We never felt rushed or pressured by any of the sales staff. Also my little guy accidentally broke a table decoration which we tried to pay for but the employee was more focused on us being okay versus the damaged item.

Today I worked with Erin at the Slumberland in Sioux Falls, SD. She was very professional and friendly, let me browse at my leisure but checked up on me every few minutes. She was thorough explaining everything to me about delivery, financing and the protection plans. It was quick and easy and I'd definitely go see her again for any furniture needs in the future.
