I've been waiting since December 16th for my mattress. It's now January 3rd. I called today and was told they would research the issue and email me within 10 minutes. It's 2 hours later, no email and no one answers the phone. I'm starting to think I've been ripped off. If I don't hear from them within 24 hours, I'll be contacting my credit card company to file a dispute. This is very unprofessional!

I purchased a split cal king with adjustable frames. After repeated contacts to PC about delivery, the bed show up weeks after order with no notice. I received a notice email about delivery almost a week later. The frame did not come with the mattress. Contacted PC about frame and they could not provide info yet. Escalated and they contacted freight company and provided tracking, but the number was not in the system. Again frames showed up with no warning. I was not home to receive them. Freight wants extra money to provide a delivery window or I need to wait for the day, it get's here when it get's here. No idea what the bed is like, but shipping is a disaster!

      Reviewed June 3, 2025

I purchased my split king bed in 2019 for $5800. It was my doctors' recommendations for me to get an adjustable bed based on my medical problems. When I purchased the mattress, I was told that I needed to purchase the base along with the mattress from Personal Comfort and that I could not buy a base else ware for warranty reasons. (Lol, a lot of good a warranty does you with this company.) This was a 100% lie. Their base was $1800 and pretty much the same base that you can buy from anywhere is between $600 to $800 on Amazon or anywhere for that matter. That was issue #1. The pillow top (or what they call a pillow top) was just a regular mattress top. What I wanted-a regular pillow top mattress was more $$- this was issue #2.

The following is what has failed since I have owned the bed.
1.) The air pump assembly. failed right away and had to be replaced,
2.) The module for the bed has failed 3 times now and had to be replaced.
3.) The Air chamber has failed on 1 side and now 3 weeks later the other side failed, had to be replaced. I'm still waiting on this to arrive. I think they walk it from the warehouse to your house.

4.) The foam in the mattress is breaking down causing a divot where you lie (since you can't rotate the bed, it is bound to fail eventually).

Sure, you get a warranty but what good is the warranty when it takes the company a long time to ship and it gets delivered to the wrong address & state. Nothing that's under warranty is ever covered 100%. This was one of my biggest regrets (on a purchase) that I have ever made!!! If I had the option to give it back or I could sue Personal Comfort for reimbursement I would. Let's see just how Personal Comfort cares about their product & customers. We will see if they respond to my complaint! Joey ** Order #**

      Updated review: April 6, 2025

Updated: We figured out the zipper issue on our own, after much trial and error. And I must say that the bed is wonderful. Hopefully it will be as good as the other PC bed that we have had for many, many years. My major objection (and the only reason this is a four-star rating and not five) is the company's reliance on AI to assist you. When we have been able to get a real person to answer questions, he was fine. My suggestion is to beef up their customer service to have people on hand who actually know the product.

      Original Review: April 5, 2025

Don't be fooled by the price; if you have to get them to set it up, it will cost you hundreds more. I ordered a A8 mattress, and was told at the time that two people could get it to a second floor, so I skipped the outrageous set up price. This proved impossible, so we had to disassemble the mattress to get it upstairs piece by piece. Now the mattress won't re-zip. The zippers are SO cheap!!! Their manual and videos are useless and you can't get a real person to answer your questions online, only AI that stupidly keeps sending a link to the same manual that was already unhelpful. And I won't pay hundreds more just to get somebody to come up to re-zip the mattress.

      Updated review: Jan. 16, 2025

Customer service called me this morning and was able to get a free remote control for my air pump. Mailed out to me today and they said if that doesn't work to call them back and they will work on getting a new air pump. So I would like to retract what I had in the prior email. Thank you!

      Original Review: Jan. 16, 2025

Updated on 01/19/2025: I had written a review about personal comfort when I was beyond frustrated and I could not get anything to work right. I would like to set the record straight and say since then I have talked to customer service and they are working with me to fix the problem. I will keep you updated and let you know how it works out, but I feel much more positive about the experience than I did when I first wrote a review.

Original Review: I have had two Personal Comfort beds in my life. The first one was amazing and it was just their base model and it came with a remote. I never had a problem with it. I never needed help or customer service with it. But when I moved from Kentucky to Washington State, I did not have the option to bring the bed. So I sold it. When I got to Washington I decided to upgrade and get the bed that I wanted and I got the A8 model queen size single chamber air bed. I have a 10-year warranty on it. And over the past 2 years that I've had this bed I have had nothing but issues with trying to inflate my bed through my phone.

I called personal comfort and asked if I could pay just to get a remote to make this feature work and I was told that just buying a remote would not work with my air unit and I would have to buy an entire new unit. They rest assured me that they were working on the issue and that it would be fixed shortly. I got a call back and I was given instructions on how to make this product work on my phone and once again it worked and it was fine. The last couple months I have had issues trying to inflate my bed. I have had problems with the unit even locating the Bluetooth on my phone and it does not work anymore. The unit used to go from 1 to 50 for firmness and now if I could even get it to recognize my phone it'll only go from 1:00 to 5:00. That's it.

I have called personal comfort several times, left four messages with no return call back. I have gone to their website and I have used their chat mobile app that said that they would call back. I had probably done that three times and no call back. I have also sent a very personalized email of the exact issues and problems and I was told that they would return back with an answer. I have not received an email back. I am extremely upset for the money I paid for this bed I am. I'm exceptionally upset that customer service cannot call me back or give me any information. I actually feel that I should be able to return my air unit and get the unit that airs my bed with the remote.

At this point I am thinking about doing a class action suit because I have looked online and when I have deleted the app and reinstalled the app and do all the things they say to do. I see that there are several people out there with the same issue like this is unacceptable. You spend that kind of money on a bed and you expect it to work. You have a 10-year warranty you expect it to work. The bed itself when it works is fantastic. I have no complaints about that but being able to put air in it and keep the air loaded in.

It is a nightmare and I'm wondering if there's any other people out there that feel the same way that I do and would join in a class action suit? If personal comfort decides to read this message I would absolutely love for them to call me or email me and help me get this problem fixed and maybe get a new unit for my air and get a remote for this bed and I will gladly update this update to provide information on how well they helped me get this done. My order number from them is Order Number: **, and I'm not sure if he is still there but Jordan was the one who assisted me with this order.

      Reviewed Nov. 3, 2024

Personal Comfort Order No **. My first ever post of review of product. If there were negative rating option, I’d give that. Before I go dump this bed at the garbage dump where it belongs and buy a new one elsewhere, I feel the need to post so hopefully others can learn from my horrible mistake and experience buying from Personal Comfort. I was all set to buy at Sleep Number – all picked out and ready to buy – when someone I knew told me to look at Personal Comfort - - same product at lower cost. I was dumb enough to believe that. It is actually the opposite – more expensive for a worse product and terrible service.

Here is a summary – I actually have pages and pages of detailed notes and emails that is too much to post here. Looking through my notes, I literally see 13 times during the trial period that I asked to return the bed – and was talked out of it – gas lighting me and making me think it was me that was out of line and wrong. My fault - - for not being stronger to push it.

      1. Quality – awful. Spent over $9k – which was A LOT of money for me. My 20 year old bed was more comfortable than this. I could have gotten the similar quality and un-comfort by going to Target and buying a blow up mattress for $200. Incredibly uncomfortable, cheap product and parts that don’t even work as they should. HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do not buy from Personal Comfort or online – you need to go to an actual store, a reputable company, where you can test beds and make a proper determination.

      2. Sales Service – yes, super nice and responsive – initially. My fault for not speaking up, but they did a great job of manipulation and selling extra items to me that I didn’t even need. 3 sets of sheets, hard as a rock pillow, and the joke of a mattress cover they sell (a super thin & flimsy sheet) - - said I get a better deal if I buy those. And, looking at the details – it was not the case. Treatment from sales went down after contract and issues were coming up. When I was struggling to get the bed and things to work correctly - - I was even called an “idiot” because I couldn’t figure it out. I shouldn't have to be a tech expert and physically able to go under the bed to trouble shoot & make things work - - and even if I had been able to do that – bottom line is that it would not have mattered – because the parts were defective.

      3. Delivery – this was AWFUL and unprofessional as everything else! I was told that I’d be able to track delivery online, etc. Funny enough, their computer system for this was down the whole time. Delivery #1 showed up at my door – a big box of miscellaneous parts, etc - - but the box was bashed in and one end was open. I had no idea if anything had fallen out or not. Delivery #2 – arrived while I was on vacation – no notice or call that it was to be delivered. It was the actual mattress that was dumped on the bottom of my driveway. I was out of town and had no idea it was there – or for how long. Miracle someone didn’t steal it. Delivery #3 – frame – that was okay – I got a call and met the person at my house.

      4. Installation/Assembly – WHAT A JOKE! White glove? Not even close. Attempt #1: a young couple – that was sent from Task Rabbit or a service like that. They had neve seen one of these and had no idea how to assemble. They spent a couple of hours making their best go of it – PC ended up forwarding instructions to them – but it ended up the instructions were for a previous model and it didn’t work. They got some set up – but left before it all was working correctly. Attempt #2: Someone came out another day - -no clue either – but he did eventually complete the installation while speaking with PC on the phone.

      5. Issues with the bed: Bed would not hold the air – and it felt like a water bed without enough water in it. One of the controllers didn’t work – still doesn’t. PC made me feel like I was imagining it and that I was a nuisance because of this. But - - I did push and service was attempted several times. But, each time the service person who came out was just some random person without experience with these beds. At one point, PC even sent people over from Junk Removal company - - I think 3 times, and each time the person at the door said they were here to pick up something for junk removal – and didn’t know anything about coming to repair the bed. Finally - - after many weeks – someone did come and determined that one of the air chambers was defective and the pump underneath the bed was defective. New parts were sent (took much longer than I was promised) and repairs finally made.

      6. Return request. By this time, I was so over this – I still wanted to return the bed – uncomfortable and very bad service and upsetting process. I had been told that I would have 30 days after fully repaired to do the return and refund. This was rescinded – and I was not able to return. I count at least 13 times that I requested return during the trial period and they talked me out of it.

During all this process, I was concerned about the time running out - - and at one point, they were avoiding me and it seemed that so the clock would tick down on the trial. I was trying to get the final repairs scheduled - and I called nearly every day for two weeks – and each time either left a message or was told “he will call you right back”. And no response. Thus, I at this point – I put a dispute with the credit card company. When PC did reach out they told me that I had to release the dispute before they would schedule the final repair. I pushed to get it released asap – but it took some time. Once dispute was released, they didn’t even want to do the final repair – but I did get them to do it. After that – they washed their hands of the whole situation and I was not given the option to return during the 30 days after the final repairs - as I surely would have done.

      7. I’ve been trying to at least get my loan paid off before I toss this piece of crap bed . . just too uncomfortable - - thus, I’ll double pay for a while. Infuriates me. Other thing to point out and it just rubs all this in my face more - - -my parents just got a Sleep Number bed – and observing the incredible service they got, professional delivery and set-up, and quality product just infuriates me even more – just mad at myself for my really bad decision and allowing myself to be steamrolled.

It took a LOT to overcome the sticker shock of $8000 for a bed, however the warranty coverage gave me some peace of mind. After shopping around and spending time in a local Sleep Number store, we planned to order our new bed there. Unfortunately, we got a recommendation to take a look at Personal Comfort, and sadly ordered our A8 King FlexHead Light 2800-A801-12FHL ($3,899.99) Power-Flex 3 Flex-Head King ($3,399.99) with In-Home Setup & Delivery with a 10 year Extended Protection Plan in January 2022.

Barely a year since it was delivered and set up (by a contractor that does not teach customers how it works or how to set up the app and remotes), the air supply to half the king bed does not work, the mattress is concave and will not inflate, and after waiting endlessly on the phone with "Customer Service", we were directed to a video on their website to see if we can troubleshoot on our own. Otherwise it will cost us $200 for them to dispatch someone to our home to figure out what the problem is. If they just send a new air pump, it may take more than 7 days to arrive and we will need to figure out how to install it. DO NOT INVEST YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY IN THIS START UP COMPANY!!! If they do not have customer service available 24/7 when you need them or an immediate technician to service their product - particularly covered by a warranty - then you do not want to take this risk.

This past May my husband and I were once again in the market for a new mattress. For the past 16 years we have been in an battle trying to find the "right fit" but couldn't find that match that would work for the both of us. Just 4 years ago we got a mattress along with an adjustable base and thought it was the answer to our discomfort....until I wanted to raise the mattress and he didn't. The back and forth was exhausting in an already uncomfortable mattress. I mean this mattress was horrible and the fussing made it worse. I began to search the internet for split queen mattresses hoping to find something that gives more options to both if us - that's when I found Personal Comfort!!

Personal Comfort offered amazing comfortable mattresses with options for all bed sizes at an affordable price. Their team worked with us every step of the way just like family. They made sure we received what we needed in every way. This is our 5th mattress in 16 years, we were very selective; but not only did we find the right mattress we found the right company. Thank you Personal Comfort for your amazing products and personalized attention to your customers. I have told everyone all about you!!

I can’t find the receipt or emails from the company and have no idea how many nights it’s been, but if it was under 120 I would return it! It is nowhere near as comfortable as our old bed was - the reviews I read were not accurate in our opinion. Like the previous poster said, I thought it was us not the bed. False. It’s the bed. I really wish we would not have purchased it!!!!

I purchased a split top king in Sept 2020. Doesn’t matter how I adjust this bed, that I’ve received a complimentary topper. And I’ve had to remove the pillow top, it just doesn’t do it! I was offered a flat top at a discount, but should have been more informed about it during the purchase and shouldn’t have to spend more. I just returned from a cruise and it was the best week of sleep I’ve had since owning my Personal Comfort! I wish I could purchase the mattress they use on the ship, unfortunately they are custom made for the cruise line and not for public sale. For me Personal Comfort has been the worst experience and I wished I would have returned it during the trial period, but I wanted to give it a chance and thought if I kept adjusting I’d find my sweet spot!! I would give it 0 stars if possible!! Total waste of my money!!!
