This store can’t ship a product correctly, and then leaves messages for you that sound like spam. When asking them what are they going to do about it- complete silence. I paid for a product I didn’t receive, with no solution to correct it.

I have been reaching out to request the immediate cancellation of my Houzz Pro membership for several months and keep getting passed around to different representatives. When I initially signed up, I was under the impression that I was enrolling in a monthly plan. At no point during the signup process was it clearly communicated that this was a 12-month commitment at $249 a month. I only became aware of the annual contract terms after trying to cancel my membership and I have not actively used the service in months.

This has been an unexpected financial burden, and I would not have signed up had the full terms been clear. I believe the lack of transparency during the registration process is a serious issue and does not align with fair business practices. The unfortunate thing is that this product is actually really great and I was recommending to my friends to use in their renovations. I'm simply a homeowner looking to get some remodel ideas - I'm certainly not looking to pay $249 a month for 12 months.

I like the Houzz’ site because I like very contemporary and I can find it there. I’ve used it once or twice and it’s nice and easy. I probably purchased some lighting or faucets, I can’t remember. I think they're highly priced sometimes. But the quality of their products and services is very nice. I would recommend it, if you like contemporary. "

IF Houzz ends up doing the right thing, I will come back and revise my review - but in the mean time, I feel the need to be honest about my current experience with Houzz. I've spent the past several months looking for a dining table and chairs. I would prefer to shop local but, have found nothing even close to what I was looking for. I found what looks to be a beautiful set on Houzz. Of course the chairs are sold separately. I found the chairs on other websites all stating a SET OF 2 for a similar price or less, but I figured it would be easiest to order from one place instead of two. Because Houzz didn't specify a set of two, I called their customer service prior to placing my order to inquire. The girl put me on hold for 5 mins, came back and said she called the manufacturer and yes it's two chairs. I repeated it, "it's a set of two chairs?" She said yes.

Later that day I took the leap and ordered the table and the chairs, selecting a qty of 2 chairs, expecting to receive 4 (thinking it was $732 for two chairs, almost $1500 for 4). I'm still awaiting the arrival of the table, but the chairs came last week. Just TWO chairs arrived. I called c/s immediately (while the delivery people waited) - and after 35 mins got no resolve but was told I'd probably be responsible for return shipping EVEN THOUGH THEIR CUSTOMER SVC PROVIDED ME WRONG INFORMATION. Had she provided accurate information I would've simply ordered the chairs elsewhere. I nicely told her anything less than a full refund or to ship two more chairs at no cost, was unacceptable. I got no where.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told their supervisor doesn't take phone calls ?! That was 5 days ago and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. It shouldn't be a tough resolution - their customer service made the mistake - they just need to make it right. I even provided screen shots showing them that every other website selling the same chairs, including from the same manufacturer - states clearly it is a SET OF 2, and then Houzz c/s confirmed that before I ordered them. Depending on how this pans out, will determine if I'd ever do business with Houzz again.

I had purchased a bathroom vanity in the past and it was a good experience, so you can imagine how disappointed and frustrated I am with THIS experience. Hopefully they will do the right thing and accept responsibility. When they do, I will come back here and share the positive news and update the review. I'll reserve final judgement until I have resolve. Stay tuned....

The attached photo is from a competitors website selling the same chairs from the same manufacturer - notice it is a SET OF 2 for $426. Houzz.com's price is $731. That means if it wasn't a set of 2, they expect a customer to pay almost $3k for 4 chairs. ?!? Who would do that? Fingers crossed they do the right thing and make this right.

Houzz sent me the wrong rug, then dragged their feet on offering a replacement or partial refund. I continually ask for a supervisor, but none was ever available. I even offered to keep the wrong rug if I was only compensated the return & replacement shipping costs + the price difference. Eventually, when the supervisor Lynette finally called me, she was incredibly rude right from the start of the call. She was not professional at all and talked over me pretty much the entire phone call. When I asked for a specific amount of additional discount to compensate for the value difference of what I had received vs. what I’d paid for, her comment to me was that I must “need the money.” When I asked if she treated everyone so rudely she claimed “no she does not” … I must be special! She also refused to put me in touch with anyone else above her and then hung up on me.

I tried Houzz Pro to drum up some residential sales. I was told we'd get about a dozen leads a month based on our industry and the target area we were looking at. We didn't even get that over the total 12 months. When it came time to cancel, I reached out on Day 30 to cancel with a response the next day of their lengthy cancellation procedure. So my official "cancellation" was at 29 days from auto-renew - which they won't honor and are now saying they have no record of my request. They are auto-renewing with a 25% price increase for a service I have no value in. I also have emails I sent them 9 months ago asking to cancel already that were ignored.

WARNING: Be Absolutely Sure Before You Buy! We were so excited to create our backyard oasis and carefully selected our outdoor furniture—including lounge chairs, regular chairs, and a 15-ft umbrella. The chairs and umbrella arrived first, exactly as described—perfect! Then, a week later, the loungers showed up. Six of them. But instead of Natural/Black as clearly stated in the description, they turned out to be red-toned wood with black cushions—completely different from the advertised product. They don’t match anything else we purchased, and frankly, they look nothing like the picture!

This morning, I submitted a return request, explaining the discrepancy. The response? A whopping $1,800+ return fee! That’s right—returning something that wasn’t correctly described would cost us an absurd amount, making it impossible to return them. It’s incredibly frustrating when companies fail to accurately describe their products, and even worse when they show zero concern for customer satisfaction. Houzz (or whoever is selling these) clearly has no interest in making things right. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured that I won’t be purchasing anything from Houzz again!

I like their products, and I've had very good experiences with Houzz. I've purchased lamps, firewood holders, and a lot more. Delivery has always been on time, I've been very happy with the quality of the products, and I’ve kept them all. I did have one defective lamp that I had to return, and they were good about replacing it immediately. Pricewise, it’s a bit high but not outrageous. It's not average, but it's quality product, so I pay a little bit more.

After 4 months they started to try to bill me monthly. I spoke with someone and they said they would fix the problem. 6 months later this is still going on. They have now closed my account for non payment even though it was paid in advance. I sent them the proof, again they apologized, said they would fix it, still NOTHING! I have talked to 2 different managers who stated they would make sure a refund was sent, NOTHING!

I called back, Alaina said that a check had been cut and sent, that was 2 weeks ago! The absolute worst customer service I have EVER received in my life!! Last week I received a call from Alaina who asked me if I was still interested in purchasing HOUZZ. I had to remind her who I was and that I was still waiting for my refund! It took two weeks to open the box while the bathroom was being finished so Houzz would not supply a replacement. Instead we were told we could purchase one for $160 dollars and they would give us a 20% discount. Converastions I have had with other contractors are in line with my findings and my conversations with HOUZZ representatives and management. The market is soft and they are losing business because of poor customer service and communication not to mention poor lead quality. The price gouging is a clear sign of negative profits and needing to book business to recover losses with a NO CARE approach. Houzz had the best deal on a specific wallpaper from York Wall Covering that I wanted. The website was fine. And the wallpaper is beautiful, it’s of very good quality. I rent and I move a lot, and I've always used this wallpaper. It’s not peel-and-stick, but it’s removable. It goes up like normal wallpaper and when it's time to take it down, it literally peels off easily with no residue on the wall, and it’s nice.

I was looking for pots for plants that I was working on. I needed certain styles and colors of the plants I was using. I started by looking at Pinterest, and then when I saw products that I liked, it linked me to the Houzz website.

The quality was good. In terms of the packing, that was excellent. The shipping was fine. The quality of the product was not exactly what the picture looked like, so I was a little disappointed. But overall, I would say it was decent.

I was very selective. I was only looking for the plants I was working on, and I was looking for very particular styles to meet the client's needs. It had to be ceramic. It had to have certain aspects to it that I needed for the health of the plant, so that it would drain properly. I wanted the pot to be terra cotta so it breathed. There were certain things I was looking for, but it also had a nice style to it as well. It was a challenge, but I did find it and I ordered from them. And the ordering process was relatively easy so that was good.

I purchased a fixture from Houzz that goes above a bathroom sink. Its quality is great, I like it. I was able to do it myself. But it was a little tricky because the wire's really short. I could have used a little longer wiring. I'm not complaining.

It was a challenge, but I don't think it was a manufacturing fault, just the way the piece covers the wiring. It's a tiny circular plate. It really was a three-handed job. And I think that's true with light fixtures above mirrors, or sconces that go on the wall.

The site was user-friendly, and all the information displayed was well readable. I just had to scroll too much because I did it from my phone. But the website was working great on my mobile.

I was with Houzz for 2 plus years. After not taking time off from work for over two years, we decided to take some time off and we called Houzz to suspend the account for 2 Months. The first point of contact with customer service said they could help me with my request. Well it turned out he was wrong and could not help me. So the next day I called spoke with my account manager and was assured they would suspend my account till I got back and reactivated my account.

Well I get a called from the office, and to surprise we received an email stating that we were two months behind in billing, (almost $ 1000.00). So I gave them a call and spoke with Huong **, my Acct. Mgr.. She would not help me, refused to reconcile "HER" mistake. Now I say her mistake because we talked in depth about the billing she said she remembered suspending the account as I requested. I then asked her why I was receiving a bill for almost a 1000 dollars for my account being in arrears!!!. Well they refuse to honor the suspension, they refuse to let me speak with anyone other than Huong **!!!! There is no way to escalate the call to an upper management Manager.

They are the most rapacious company around. So I am hiring a lawyer to reconcile this issue. I highly recommend that "NO ONE DO BUSINESS WITH HOUZZ!!!" Their customer support sucks, they have no desire to help you when it involves terminating your account. If I could give a ZERO Star review I would, but not possible, so a 1 star is what I can do. Do Not Do Business With Houzz. They will take your money, but customer support is non-existent.

Purchased an expensive, pre-lit birch tree ($96.00 plus tax) through this site in October, 2024 which I intended to use as a holiday decorative item. Did not open the item until the end of November, when I was ready to use it. Item was significantly damaged and lights did not work. Houzz refused to credit for the purchase as it was ordered 30 days prior to my reporting the problem; they would not accommodate making an exception to their return policy. Instead, Houzz informed me that I would need to resolve my complaint with the manufacturer.

Houzz declined my request to escalate my request to a higher level as well as to me assist with resolving the issue with the manufacturer. After making several attempts to contact the manufacturer via their website, nearlynatural.com with no response, I was able to speak with one of their customer reps in January. The manufacturer insists that the credit for the damaged merchandise should be issued by Houzz... Real nice, hope they both have a good 2025. If they both continue to take advantage of their customers, that is not likely to happen!

The purchase was made on 12/27/2025 and the damaged freight arrived on 1/13/2025. When the table arrived, I was informed by the delivery team that the boxes could not be opened to inspect for damage to the table so I refused the delivery. We notified Houzz immediately to seek resolution or a refund.

Later that night Houzz responded stating that, "due to not inspecting the shipment for damages prior to refusing the item for damage, we would be responsible to pay for the return shipping cost". So let me get this straight; I pay you almost $2,000 a month in advance, you deliver me visibly damaged freight and tell me I CANNOT inspect it for damage or I will forfeit my right to refuse delivery, but THEN because we did not open the boxes to inspect for damage, you are making me pay for the return shipping cost??? Help that make sense. I will never use Houzz again and my wife has a business account with them that guess what... I pay for! Until today. That will also be cancelled. They not only lost a one-time customer but also a monthly subscription member. I've literally had better service from a Wal-Mart experience.

After signing up and not getting the results we were hoping for, I asked to decrease our monthly spend by decreasing the number of regions where our profile is being promoted. There are much better things to spend your money on if you need leads. I saw Houzz in an advertisement on the internet and I liked their pricing. I ordered the product based on the picture and it was what I wanted. But when I got it, it was not what I ordered. The picture did not match what I received. If the picture would have matched what I got, then I would never have bought it. The cushion where you sat on was only three inches thick. If you look at the picture, it shows a six-inch cushion. It's fine for people that don't weigh as much as a man does but I'm probably about 240, so sitting on this thing on that thin cushion was uncomfortable. You might just as well sit on a concrete bench.

Houzz was going to reimburse me with the 25%, but I told them this wasn't their fault. The manufacturer should reimburse me because they sent Houzz the picture of the product to publish on the website. Somebody from Houzz should go to the manufacturers and verify what people see in the pictures matches what they're getting. Because that’s false advertisement. But that's not their fault. I talked to the owner of Alexent and she didn’t understand what I was trying to say. She was supposed to call me back with an answer, but she never did. I called them multiple times and they said they talked to Houzz. I called Houzz and they said they never talked to anybody. So I'm assuming Alexent never talked to anybody. They were non-customer service. Houzz did everything they could on their end.

I had to create slats with wood from Home Depot. It cost just 40 dollars because I used regular wood and cut it ourselves. My experience with Houzz has been nothing but consumer fraud. I received the wrong order. Ten days ago I called the CS to return/refund. I spoke with Ann L. There was a strong language barrier and after 20 minutes explaining to Ann L that I did not want to exchange at this point. She instructed me to send pictures of the items and sku. I sent the required proof that the shelves were entirely different from what I ordered.

Yesterday, I called CS again to follow up on a return label. I spoke with Lisa and started from the beginning. On this call we had a bigger language barrier. I apologized to Lisa several times, but I could not understand her. Thus, I couldn’t understand what she didn’t understand. Another long call, but realized she was offering a replacement of an order that was wrong in the first place. She was trying to not refund my $. She also told me that I had to pay shipping in returns. I said, no way on God’s green earth will I pay for their mistake. She retrieved my email from previous week with proof a mistake was made On their end. She said she would forward my email for review!! I said, "Your company has to review a return for wrong items. She said, no but for a refund they do!??? WTH??

Last night I received an email that my “request is being reviewed and they will respond when completed". Very hard to get $200 back from Houzz due to their mistake. Never ever again! Keystone cop company. Note, if the CS ladies could communicate clearly, they wouldn’t spend 20-25 minutes on a simple call for a return. Therefore, taking more calls and being more productive.

I purchased a bathroom vanity (Fresca 42" floating vanity sold by Build.com). The item was never opened because my contractor noted the size of the box and realized the height would not work with my plumbing/drain pipe. I contacted Houzz and was referred to the merchant. It took multiple calls and e-mails before I was provided return shipping instructions. I fully intended to order another vanity from Houzz that fit my bathroom. I changed my mind when I discovered the merchant would be charging me $150 for shipping. I believe they should have credited the shipping fee off of the next purchase. This was a large project and I was planning multiple purchases. No other company (Amazon, Wayfair, Walmart, Macy's, Target, Home Depot) charges for returns. I will never buy anything from Houzz again. I found exactly what I needed on another website for $300 less than the Houzz price.

Recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Houzz.com and feel compelled to share it. I ordered a $3,000 vanity at the end of September, but due to ongoing construction at my home, the item remained safely in storage until my contractors were ready to install it. Upon opening the package, we discovered the vanity was cracked straight down the middle-a significant defect that was only revealed when it was unpacked. When I reached out to Houzz customer support, I was shocked and frustrated to be redirected to the manufacturer for assistance. As a customer, I purchased this product from Houzz and expected them to stand behind the quality of the items sold on their platform. Instead, I was left to deal with the issue on my own, despite having paid Houzz for this order.

What Houzz fails to recognize is that construction timelines often require items to be stored until they are ready for installation. This isn't a regular piece of furniture being set up immediately-it' a fixture that depends on contractor schedules. Their rigid 30-day policy doesn't account for these real-world scenarios, leaving customers stuck with defective products and no proper resolution. Now I'm left with a damaged vanity and a $3,000 loss. This is completely unacceptable, and Houzz's lack of accountability has left me questioning their commitment to customer satisfaction. If you're considering ordering from Houzz, be aware of their return policy and how it could leave you stranded with expensive, unusable items if defects arise after 30 day.

Updated on 11/7/2024: Bottom line is that you have sold an expensive product that was defective and just because the defect was discovered within 60 days instead of 30 in no way absolves you from the responsibility to either replace or fix the item. You sold a defective product and are refusing to do the right thing while trying to hide behind arbitrary policy that does not make sense and is designed as an attempt to shield you from your responsibilities to your customers. I hope enough people see my reviews and are aware of your practices.

Original review: Purchased a vanity from Houzz and paid $1028 for it. Vanity was delivered on Aug 22, 2024 and was installed a few days later in the basement bathroom. I don't use that bathroom very often so have not had a chance to use it since maybe two weeks after it was installed. A couple of days ago (around the 20th of October), mind you less than two month after delivery, I was in that bathroom and noticed that the vanity was falling apart on the bottom right and left sides. I contacted Houzz Customer Support and the store only to be informed that they will not do anything since it is outside of 30 day return period.

The store had offered to send a repair kit with wood filler and paint. I told them that that wasn't acceptable and that I wanted them to either pay for repairs by a professional or exchange the vanity for a new one. Bottom line is neither this outfit nor the store would stand by the products they sell. Just wanted all potential customers to know what kind of business they may be dealing with.

When we were renovating a lake house, I went through there and found all the pictures that I wanted my house to look like, and God blessed me with the contractor that I found on Houzz, Lisa with Lake Living Design and Construction.

I had a project where I wanted her to renovate a rental house for me but she declined that offer because it needed electrical work, and I wasn't ready to do that. I told her I had another project which was building a primary home. She did that and did an amazing job. I had another project that I was working with other contractors. I had problems with them because they wouldn't listen to me because I wasn't a man. I would call my husband then he would call them and tell them the same thing I told them, then they'd say ok. But Lisa listened to me. Earlier this year, I had some water damage in the lake house property and she's been handling all of it. She's my favorite person in the world right now. The prices are a little high though. I can find similar things that are less expensive on other sites.

This is a horrible dining table by the merchant “KOSAS HOME” – ** DO NOT BUY ** I bought this dining table in Jan 2024 and a part of its surface started swelling up in April. We dried it up completely and avoided using that part on the surface of this dining table which helped alleviate the problem. We thought it was just one portion of the table which was susceptible to this issue. But then every month we started seeing this problem on different parts of the table top.

On carefully analyzing, we realized that it was happening on areas where condensed water from cold dishes drips on the table and stays there. We tried to avoid this as much as possible by putting coasters under all such dishes and wiping spillovers as soon as possible. But it’s a dining table. How much ever careful we would be, some moisture will come into contact with the surface of the table. In the month of August-2024, once I was cleaning the top and and a splinter pricked my finger. 7 MONTHS OLD TABLE, FOR WHICH I PAID $1800 WAS HAVING LOSE SPLINTERS! Cheaper tables last longer!!

I reached out to Houzz.com and they in turn reached out to the vendor – “KOSAS HOME”. The vendor simply refused to address my problem saying that the return window is only 30 days. I find this apathy and horrible customer service, very hard to digest. I am not complaining because I don’t like the product anymore. I am complaining because its surface is dis-integrating and is dangerous to use. If younger kids just swipe their hands on this table, guess what they’ll get – SPLINTERS POKING THEIR FINGERS. Now I get it why this dining table does not have any reviews. Maybe, they were taken down to mislead other customers into buying this. PS: I am giving 1 star because I am not allowed to select 0 and submit a review.

I was searching on the internet then I saw that Houzz has more contemporary modern kind and smaller sizes of vanities, and things that I needed for my bathrooms. So, I ordered from them for the first bathroom. I really liked what I bought so I ordered again for the second bathroom. I purchased bathroom vanities twice from their website for both bathrooms' remodeling.

The only problem I had was with the toilet that was coming from Canada totally unpackaged properly. Both times broken with cracks. So, this alone took two months to resolve. Finally, I had to get from a third party a new toilet that came in a completely different shape. Everything else was very good. I love the quality of the vanities, the mirrors, and the lights. Everything else was great and they came very quickly. I also had no issues with the assembly of stuff. All in all, I love the choices, the selections of the items on the website, how quickly the items arrive, and the quality of the products. Plus, they have really good prices for the quality of the items that I ordered.

If you pick an item that you want to return, expect to pay $100 per shipping return label, even for a $80 light fixture. Contractors do not open boxes UNTIL THEY ARE READY TO BE INSTALLED. Which means, we expect that the products will be intact. A vanity came BROKEN IN THREE PLACES and not only will Houzz not replace it, they had the audacity to say "Let us see if there is a new one FOR ME TO PURCHASE". Horrific business model.

The only reason we bought them from Houzz was because the stools were discontinued and we could not find them anywhere else. I was told that they can't terminate the contract after speaking with a manager who said she would assign me new onboarding specialist. Why would I trust working with a company that has the nerve to copy paste another business info and logo and try to sell it as their work for your company. Then chalk it up to a wiring issue? The onboarding specialist admitted to me over the phone that he just picked a logo and copy pasted some things just for now to get my profile going. Buyer beware. The 30-day “free” trial for Houzz Pro (any subscription) is not actually 30 days. They will charge you the fee after 29 days and refuse to refund it even if you cancel on day 30. Absolutely horrendous and unreasonable customer service. From the beginning, I reached out stating that I accidentally chose the wrong subscription. I did not need a pro plan as only a homeowner. They advised me to wait until the end of the free trial and change plans then. I did as advised and cancelled on the last day of the free trial, but I was still charged the $199/month fee for the professional plan.

They adamantly refuse to refund the subscription fee even though there is written record of me contacting customer support immediately after subscribing about my desire to change plans as well as the date I subscribed, which is evidence that I was charged before the 30-day period was up (at the end of 29 days instead of 30). I’m in contact with my credit card company as well as the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Even if I wanted this pro subscription, the customer service is truly horrible—nothing I would ever agree to pay for. I’d love to write a positive review but unfathomably I. I never received this mirror. I can’t make this stuff up. It really has happened. The first shipment was lost from Fed Ex. In fact, Fed Ex sent me a text message April 30 (after the alleged delivery date of April 27) claiming to have delivered it on April 27. I have dealt with Fed Ex 100s of times & this has never happened. Mirror was lost & they didn’t take any accountability. I never received the 30 pound product. The second replacement mirror was allegedly shipped from MD on May 1.

Today is May 9 & again, I’ve received no mirror. This time, I’ve been in contact with FedEx numerous times on the phone & while they can’t get a picture or an actual location on the freight, they can’t confirm it lost. When I first called Fed Ex Monday May 6, I was told the mirror is delayed because Fed Ex intervened & repackaged it to prevent damage. Houzz won’t admit this. On Monday May 13 if it’s still missing they can then confirm it lost. Yet. Again. Houzz customer service is beyond frustrating. The senior support rep seems like a human bot generating emails. She is seemingly ineffectual & unskilled at dealing with a situation of this magnitude. I’ve asked to speak with her boss. No response. I’ve asked for another mirror to be shipped immediately for the third time with two day guaranteed shipping. She said we can’t guarantee that. Well, what can you guarantee? You can’t affirm I will even receive the product.

There is no validation acknowledging the ineptitude in their standard shipping procedures. This replacement mirror should have been expedited 2 day. The entire process makes me sick to think about because I feel scammed. The word they repeatedly use is inconvenient. The entire experience is exasperating. I don’t even know if this store actually exists because I personally called & heard a random foreign voice mail message (which didn’t state the name of the store).

Houzz is the “middle man” yet they won’t hold theirselves culpable or step up to do the right thing. After calling the store & leaving both a voice mail & email message, I received a text from Mirona saying they would be happy to send a prompt replacement for the third time but I have to reach out to Houzz CS. This is a circus. I will never attempt to purchase anything from Houzz again. They claim to be a high end marketplace but this is reminding me of EBay & Etsy scams. If a miracle happens & the phantom mirror arrives undamaged, I will certainly speak to that & revise the quality of the order review.

Lastly, I’ve only ordered two items from Houzz & both were within the last 30 days. The first was a cabinet and it arrived damaged. The company did send a replacement which did come in good condition. Statistically, having issues with both items I ordered is unacceptable. It’s a strike out.

Unfortunately, the reality did not meet the expectations set by Houzz. Despite assurances, every lead I received (about 2-3 per month) was far from what was promised. Most inquiries were for low-budget projects like vanity replacements, rather than the specialized, high-quality work we were led to believe we'd find. Moreover, the responsiveness of these leads was extraordinarily low, with approximately 85% not answering phone calls or messages. This lack of engagement has been both frustrating and disappointing, leading me to question the value and integrity of Houzz's services for professionals in our field.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Houzz for those in search of high-end, specialized project leads. It seems there's a disconnect between what is advertised and the reality, making it difficult to justify the investment. As a business, we realized that companies had received unfair distribution of the "Best of Houzz 2024" awards, that negatively affected us. We had received well over a dozen 5-star reviews during the 2024 grading period (and 0 reviews less than 5 star), and we had many more photo albums, yet Houzz had given Best of Houzz awards to either big-chain companies or minority-owned companies that had received 0 reviews or only 1 review during the 2024 grading period, had less photo albums, etc.

In one instance, Houzz.com awarded Best of Houzz award to a company that was doing work improperly not to code, and illegally (this company did not have a license to do bathroom remodeling, yet was illegally doing bathroom remodeling, a misdemeanor in our state). When we explained this to Houzz.com and showed them the photos of this unlicensed company's work and also showed them proof of the company not having a HIC or BLD license (only a painting license), no action was taken, and the company's profile is still up, still with the 2024 award, and 0 mention of the fact they are doing unlicensed, illegal work.

We suspect in our opinion, based on the evidence and pattern, that this unfair pattern of differing treatment may likely be based on racial discrimination towards traditional **-owned companies, including **-woman-owned companies, while favoring big chain companies and minority companies. When we brought this information up to Houzz, instead of addressing the problem or addressing the criminal act committed by a minority-owned company, they- in perceived retaliation to me pointing out - retaliated by removing over 60 of our reviews, (over half), WITHIN 48 HOURS OF OUR EMAIL to Houzz.com, despite many of our reviews that were removed being up for several years with no problem at all. They "claimed"- without evidence presented to us- that these reviews were not genuine.

Their "solution" was asking us to provide proof that the reviewers in question were real... Yet they deleted the reviews before I could screenshot the names of each reviewer, in order to prove my case to them- essentially making it virtually impossible to prove my case. Their "solution" was for me to provide the names, personal addresses, and phones, and other sensitive personal private contractual information of every single client I have ever had from over a decade in business and over a thousand jobs, (which would require hundreds of hours of manpower to reach out to these clients and get their legal ok to divulge their information, and would negatively look bad on us that we're even telling over a thousand clients about such a horrific accusation). Houzz refused to provide me the names of the specific reviews removed so that I could reach out to those reviewers specifically and provide their specific contract and payment information.

Houzz is scary, their behavior was creepy, and in my opinion extremely discriminatory and predatory and bullying, and frankly I do not trust them at all after what happened. If they had also taken action against the company that had committed illegal work, then that would be one thing. The random review removal retaliation would still be wrong, but at least they could *claim* fairness. But since they did nothing to stop an actual proven crime (with photographic evidence) yet they retaliated against us immediately with a swift and brutal and vicious nature, yet did nothing to stop a contractor (who happened to be a minority) doing illegal and dangerous work that would lead to flooding and mold of client's homes.

Not to mention the boost in internet exposure in my selected areas to be sure my business is landing at the top of a consumer's web search. Houzz continues to improve on the business tools, that are included with my subscription making it a good value for my money.

I signed up to give HOUZZ a try as a lead generation source for my landscape and concrete business. I was locked in for 12 months, and in that time I managed to get 4-5 leads that were around 2-3 hours from our business location, and sold exactly zero deals. Of course, with this waste of $15k, I was anxious to cancel the campaign and move on. Here we are another 6 months later, so 18 months from initial campaign start, and 30 or so calls and emails attempted to cancel my relationship. I was finally successful this week, by cancelling my credit card that they had on file 3 months ago, and they finally gave up trying to get my new credit card information. Please note, they still did not go through any formal measures of cancelling my membership based on my requests, but simply they can't get payment so they emailed me that I've been cancelled! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SOURCE FOR LEAD GENERATION. DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THEM.

I was contacted by a specialist shortly after opening our business. They tried to sell me on purchasing a membership to help excel our new company. After a couple weeks of consistent calls, I gave in and purchased the $50/mo membership after being told they would not only host my website, but that I’d also get use of all their other features like scheduling, leads, bookkeeping, invoices, estimates, and client tracking at the same cost I was paying another company to only host my website. Being a new business, I asked what would happen if the software is not for me. I was told to just call in and that they are very understanding and would not hold me to the contract. I was also told I could reach out to the sales specialist any time with questions or concerns. She even made sure I had her direct line and email address.

I purchased and within a couple days, I tried to reach the specialist by phone, text and email and got no response. I blew it off as whatever. I really liked the program for estimates and invoices but soon realized I didn’t really need it at the time since we were mostly subbing our work out. However, I wanted to keep the membership as I could utilize the program as we grew and still have our website hosted by Houzz. I had cancelled the other website host and they released the domain name.

I contacted Houzz and was told I’d have to upgrade to the $100/mo membership for them to host our website. I explained that is not what I was told and that I already cancelled the other host and currently did not have an active website. They would not budge and just said “I’m sorry you were given the wrong information”. Whatever, I needed my website back up and already cancelled the other host so I upgraded and gave them the information they needed to build my website. I was told it would take about 3 days for a preview.

I never heard back about my website even after sending an email. I had never received a single lead because “they had no more availability to give leads to me in my market because they were full on contractors for my area. At this point, I no longer trusted Houzz so I called to cancel. I was told I was under a 1 year contract and could not cancel. They did not care that I was sold under false information or that I no longer had an active website or that I could not get any leads. So in all, no leads, no website and I was paying $100/mo for a estimation and invoice template when I could have continued using the app I was using prior to signing up for Houzz Pro which I was only paying $2.99/mo for. So I cancelled my card.

About a month or so later, I get an email from their “Legal Department”. Nice scare tactic and really shows what kind of company this is. I talked to someone on the phone who finally said they would cancel my membership but even though I had not received any of the promised services and had not used their program in two months, I would still have to pay for the charges already incurred. I explained we were struggling to even pay our employees at the time and that they could clearly see I had not used their services. She did not care and said she would reach out in 30 days to see if we could pay then.

30 days later, I get a call from their “legal department” again and was told that I now owe about $400 and if I did not pay the charges, my membership would cancel. I told her that I was told it was supposed to be cancelled a month ago and that we were potentially shutting down the business and was still struggling to pay our employees. I was asked again to pay the charges. I explained that we are a small struggling company trying to get our feet on the ground and that I can’t even pay our employees as agreed. At that point she said well then you will have to get on a payment plan with us. At this point I was furious and said I cannot pay my employees, we are facing closing our doors and all you care about is money for services I did not receive!? She said if I don’t at least agree to a payment plan, she would escalate this further up the chain.

I have never dealt with such a heartless company before. They don’t care about small businesses and from the reviews I read, they don’t care about consumers either. Houzz is a disgusting company, will tell you whatever they need to get you to purchase and once you purchase, they give you the finger. Customer service had a hard time figuring out where my shipment was. A trucking company suddenly showed up one day with it in a packing crate. My contractor was delayed and the project took longer than expected. When he went to install the top, there was no sink nor drilled holes to attach the sink. Furthermore, the sink was an irregular size so a special sink would need to be ordered.

Customer service could not tell me what sink I could purchase to fit nor how to install a sink in the vanity top. Holes should have been in the top in a factory setting. My contractor would not tamper with it so I had to return it. This product was NOT for consumers to install themselves even with professional help. Houzz nor the manufacturer would take it back because it was past the return period of 60 days. So we now have a useless 50 lb stone vanity top sitting in our basement. I’m not even sure how to get rid of it.

I've heard of Houzz since I do a lot of home remodels and decided to purchase a coffee table from them. I received an email confirming my purchase and an estimated shipping date. I never received any other information from them and the estimated delivery date window had arrived so I searched my email and found nothing. I logged into my Houzz account and the order page showed "cancelled". I reached out to customer service to ask about this and they said it was out of stock so they cancelled the order and they weren't sure why I got no notification but I could reorder sometime in the future if it returns to stock. I searched the coffee table and it was in stock, saying there were 9 left BUT the price had increased by a whopping $1700! I told the customer service rep and she said it must be a mistake and that I wouldn't be able to add it to my cart.

While on the phone, I did just that and she said she's have to talk to her superiors about doing a "price match". I noted that it was not a price match but rather honoring the original price I made the purchase for. She said she'd need 2-3 days but no word after 2.5 weeks, I sent the rep and email. She replied that she spoke to management and they would not honor the price, citing that they were a reseller and the seller that initially sold it had cancelled the order and they were not making them honor the price they initially sold it for. I wasted almost 2 months on the wait time and the back and forth but they'd give me 10% off something, up to $40 value and I could reorder the table at the new price. This felt like a bait and switch. Horrible company, I'll never recommend that anyone buy anything from them. Such a scam.

Trust me...never do business with this company. This company has no accountability or human decency. I purchased an L shaped outdoor sofa w/ table, that arrived in 7 very heavy boxes. The delivery confirmation email received, gave me a delivery window of Feb 27-Mar 10, and says 'your package will be delivered to your doorstep'. I live in an apartment complex.

On Feb 25th as I was running out to a very important meeting totally dressed clean and formally, and I stumble into 7 boxes literally left on the curb in the middle of and obstructing the walkway. The delivery service made no phone call, no text, no email that they were delivering on the 25th. I had no choice but to miss my meeting which was a massive issue. Had the delivery company called to say they were downstairs or on their way, I could have opened my garage which was 5 ft away from the curb they left the boxes on and they could have dumped them there which still would not have been my doorstep, but at least I would have made my meeting.

The way Houzz handled it from here out is what really disgusted me. They took no accountability. They put all the responsibility on their vendor, the ones who actually made the furniture who I felt didn't deserve to have to pay for Houzz's deficiency with a delivery provider. I felt that was a dirty way to do business. Dealing with Customer Service involved a lot of frustration where wait times are long, and when you speak to someone they force you to wait for an email response for days...basically their customer service policy seems to be, to wear you out until you give up and they keep your money.

Months waiting for the refund turned into a year and I had to just call AGAIN to tell them they never refunded me the tiny 10% they put their vendor in the position of having to pay. All I expected was that they do what they say they're going to do. Don't say doorstep if you mean curb, and don't say the 27th-10th if you mean the 25th. And just make a simple phone call to let someone know you're delivering. But with Houzz that is asking too much.

On 30 June 2023 I ordered #2 18" wide directors chairs. Instead I received 24" extra wide chairs with 18" canvas seats and backs (documentation available). Other than being wider than ordered the chairs do not open completely when seat and back are attached, the hinges do not completely engage and the canvas seat is at risk of tearing if load (ie sitting) is applied. This creates an obvious safety hazard for anyone attempting to sit in the chair. The canvas back and seat received with the chair are 18" in width. The available picture shows the failure of the chair to open completely when the 18" back and seat are in place. A picture of the opened chair, without 18" canvas seat or back in place, documents width of the chair is 23.5".

Over the month of July two emails requesting resolution (including but not limited to return of items to be paid for by Houzz) were submitted including A Houzz-generated order confirmation and screen shots of the original checkout page. Houzz has not offered any solution. Houzz and its "merchant" insist that 18" refers to height not width of chair, despite screenshots and order confirmation stating "wide 18"". None of the documents nor online descriptions mention "height" or "extra wide". The fact that neither Houzz nor its "merchant" refuses to accept responsibility for its error in shipping the wrong items, as well as the fact that I would have to pay over $200 in return shipping charges (the famous "one-way valve") is, in my experience, typical of fraudulent internet "bait and switch" scams. As a professional wallpaper installer this is the worst site to buy leads or ads!!! It’s a Home Improvement app and they don’t have Wallpaper in their classification so they sell you the package to give you leads for 1 year (very expensive monthly!!!) and they classify you as a Painter! I had received 3 leads for “painting jobs” only in 6 months!!!! And 2 of them never answer back! I have been trying to reach a person who can help me improve the leads I receive but there’s nobody responsible. This is a scam!!!! And I’m one of the best professionals in my area according to Thumbtack already, 149 5 stars reviews!

TERRIBLE COMPANY. Terrible company. DO NOT buy anything from them. You would regret it big time! I rarely write reviews; however, what they made me go through is so shameful, so I want everyone to know. I bought a sectional from them, and after a month, one of the century's biggest earthquakes happened in Turkey. My family and friends were also in the affected area, so I had to move out immediately to go back. This item is one of the biggest purchases, and I had no place to store it - and the return period passed only a week. Companies like CB2 did not even second my request.

The moment they heard what happened, they sent someone the next day to pick up my rug, coffee table, and media console and sent me a full refund immediately- and my return period passed almost 2 weeks with them. They were super kind and understanding. BUT HOUZZ!! They kept making me call them, their customer service representatives were so rude, and their Supervisors were lying big time! They said it's not them; it's the supplier that is not accepting the return, but I did call the supplier directly, and they kept telling me they requested them to help me out, but HOUZZ is rejecting the request.

In an event like this, where that money will be used for people in need, where this company stand is so embarrassing. They have no value whatsoever, and I am so regretful of ever doing a transaction with them. You wouldn't want to do business with companies like this. The fact that they made me go through all this process while we were also suffering on the other end is utterly unacceptable. SHAME ON YOU, PEOPLE OF HOUZZ!

I am deeply disappointed with Houzz. I ordered my table 11/20 and Houzz originally told me I would have my table between 11/29 and 12/7. The carrier didn’t even pick up the table until 12/5. After a few days, I still didn’t see any updates to the order, so I called the carrier 12/12, and was told that the table is on the truck in California but could take 12-15 days to get to their final hub in New Jersey. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ACTUAL DELIVERY TO ME. I am livid.

I ordered this table in November so that I could have it for the two parties in December that I host and I really needed this table. Now I am being told that it won't even be here for Christmas. In fact, I STILL don’t have an estimated delivery date and don’t know when I will get this table. By the time I do get this table (if ever), it will definitely be over a month from the date that I ordered it.

This is not a good way to do business. After reading some of the reviews, my next concern is what if it arrives damaged? What if they sent the wrong item? What will happen then? If I don't get it within the 30 days of purchase, do I have any recourse? I will not do business with Houzz again if this is in fact how they conduct business. I should mention that I contacted customer service to get a resolution and have not received a reply, either.

It is the 2nd time when this is happening as we got stung back in 2016 but last year a good salesperson with a great presentation of how wonderfully Houzz has changed persuaded us. Houzz.com’s policies and practices are severely lacking. Customer service is a great downfall of theirs. We ordered a bathroom vanity through Houzz. Vanity was delivered, and because the person doing the install was not yet available, we stored the vanity, unopened, in our garage. When it came time to unbox and bring in the house, we discovered significant damage to the unit. A cross piece from the front was broken, hinges were bent and there was no way to make the item usable. Notably, there was no apparent damage to the exterior of the package.

Attempts to initiate a return were met with immediate rejection and reference to the damaged item/return policy. In full disclosure, the general policy allows thirty days from receipt for return initiation, but only five days for freight shipped items. We contacted Houzz at the twenty-nine day mark. Certainly past the five days, but we thought that for an $800 item with no apparent damage to the package, there would be some leeway on Houzz’s part. There has been zero consideration on the company’s part, through three levels of customer service contact, and we are left with an $800 box of firewood. A company of this size should really consider working with customers in a more individual way when appropriate, rather than blindly pointing at their policies.

Bottom line, because we had a delay in the work done at our house, we opened a package a few weeks after delivery. We were presented with a fully unusable item and Houzz refuses to assist in any way, being OK with us out $800. We are planning a move in the next year or two, and will have an entire house to furnish….I can tell you who will not be getting any of our business—Houzz.com. This company has had the opportunity to take care of a customer and preserve future business, yet has not. We’re out $800, and they will be out many $1,000’s of future business.

For 5 subsequent days I have been repeatedly required to complete paperwork and forward to both them and some suspect company in the Netherlands. I am relatively sure this was a scam as it took only days to send notification of shipment and when they emailed they would replace it would take 12 business days.

I told them forget it I want my refund as I do not trust one single thing when I have to repeatedly advise I did not receive any delivery. An order of this size should require a signature. My email hit the dark web for a breach from this site a couple of years ago and I believe they never properly cleared that up and anytime anyone orders who may have been compromised by that breach will be scammed. My case is similar to other cases that were already described on several sites of customers reviews about Houzz.com company. I am writing about Houzz, online company selling items like furniture for houses, decorations etc. It gives you 30 min to cancel your order after to click on baton. In my case, it was bathroom vanity for renovation and I understand that it will come too late only when they provide time for a proximal delivery. So we called Houzz to cancel the order. Despite of that vanity came to us and it was late and we rejected it and redirected to Houzz.

Cost of vanity was $760 and Houzz charged us $362 for returning item even we did not take vanity. It was still in delivery truck. We had terrible experience and did not have money back. Houzz give us refund 1/2 price of items and took second part. They show you return price after we already rejected vanity. It was smart to do because it is more easy than transport item back to UPS. But Houzz for not use UPS with free return.

Other company like Wayfarer, Amazon, etc give you free return. They use UPS service that send back for free if item rejected. But Houzz makes money from our return for its profit. I do not have other explanation why they do it. I am old woman, my husband is legally blind, it takes for us big efforts to manage orders and returns. We disappointed with Houzz service. The huge return charges never mentioned on site, they MUST give you price for return in time of buying (it is so high), so we know, what to expect.

We WILL NOT buy from HOUZZ anymore and will go to other websites to avoid huge spending for nothing in return. It is terrible company from financial point because it is merchandise company and returns are very probable for different reasons: timing (as in our case), etc. Houzz could use other delivery company but that they use super expensive (possible corrupt with it) to make money. I have only such explanation. Or they DO NOT care about customers. DO NOT BUY FROM Houzz.com. to avoid extra financial problem. Our case comes in line with plenty of others similar complaints that I found on webs now. I am sorry for everyone who was trapped like we did with HOUZZ service, policy, money management. Houzz is part of a criminal interstate fraud organization. Please read through this completely. The five-star review is from an employee. Check it for yourself. Two others are from 8 months ago are from India and are raking up review points by reviewing anything. A war memorial, mountains, Rest Areas, WalMart, and just gobs of restaurants. I think one of them makes part of his living by posting 5-star reviews from the deep south and up and down the I-85 with tons of professional-looking photographs. Many reviews from New Jersey and DC.

Now, Houzz is in a completely different boat. They are associated with established New Jersey and California internet frauds who rake in millions, not just like from you- but defrauding State and the Federal government assistance programs-- Section 8, Cash Welfare, SNAP benefits, and poor mothers' WIC baby assistance- and the associated money laundering.

Houzz assists other frauds that take money and make shipping the goods nearly non-existent. They send out salvaged goods and are shipping that out- it being broken before it leaves the warehouse. They hide behind telephone messaging and unresponsive emails. Houzz assists other thieves by handing out Awards to credential other scam websites. They hand out Houzz Awards for other scammers like candy. I could get one. To qualify for an Award, for any other scammers who want credentials without really earning them, you ONLY need one 5-star review-- and at least 2, yes only 2, other reviews of any type. They qualify (just barely) for the award themselves. I suppose they sell them to other crooks.

Also, Houzz's only 5 Star Review is from an employee at their world headquarters in Palo Alto. They claim worldwide locations, Berlin, Tel Aviv, London, and other European capitals. (Aren't you surprised that with a worldwide company opened in 2009 it has only 8 reviews?) With a short drive, I can verify if their Tempe Arizona office is a sham. Their associated thieves really operate from behind mailbox stores like UPS and FedEx. I only found one location that wasn't an internet myth, a lie in other words. I came across these frauds by way of a company that sells junked computers as refurbished. I ordered one from BestBuy on the same day and received it in Arizona from their New Jersey warehouse in 3 business days. A $75 Chromebook that seems quite new. I am using it now.

The scammers, on the other hand, hide from customers that they have fleeced. After raising the same kind of stink that all of you have, I received a fraudulent text that said my stuff had shipped and here is a tracking number that doesn't exist. Anything to run the clock out on returns or refunds. Researching the phone number, it turns out that it is used in this way for scores of other scamming companies. I went off to check the sellers, not by their posted reviews, but independent ones- like complaints to the Better Business Bureau.

Here's a wrinkle that I didn't expect. They make remediations to people who fill out a BBB Complaints. I guess it's because anyone doing due diligence before a purchase will check with the BBB. Not waiting for a 14-day response time, I just called my credit card issuer and they sucked the chargeback, right out of the scammer's bank account. Do yourself a favor and only pay for everything with a credit card. Checks, money orders, and debit cards will never refund you a cent. So, do your own research and call your local US Attorney's Office.

The faucet was received 12-27-21. By the time I could get a plumber out, it was installed mid to third week of January 2022 . It flooded my cabinet over the night, first week of March. Well guess what? No refund no return! Guess I get to use my bathroom sink till my next soc. sec check.

This is just part of the customer service reply from Houzz... "The product that you have received, was brand new and in a perfect working condition." And they know that how? Yes new, but how do you know it is in perfect condition when it is UNINSTALLED AND IN A BOX. My plumber took a video of it dripping from the very top inside, where it is crimped (by the manufacturer). He was the second plumber because I first asked the one who installed it. Thought maybe he was just saying that. But the second one, who is on staff at our complex, said "nope, it was poorly made inside. It just took some time." And here is the final sentence from HOUZZ: "It has been over 2 months since this order has been fulfilled, therefore return/refund requests may no longer be authorized." Update: Houzz reached out to us and met and exceeded our expectations. Thank you Houzz for turning this situation into a positive.

    Original Review: Feb. 10, 2022

Houzz offers a jet tub sold by Simba. Simba had horrendous reviews so I ordered through Houzz thinking if something went wrong at least they had better reviews. The jet tub was delivered with damage. The packaging was damaged and the tub damaged inside where the packaging showed puncture holes. I contacted Houzz. They said to contact Simba. Simba offered to replace the tub or send us parts and give us a discount to repair the tub ourselves. We asked what the discount amount would be if we agreed to repair the tub ourselves. Simba sent the parts and didn't answer about a discount.

I emailed three times asking about the discount and they offered 3% which comes to roughly $90. The estimate to repair the tub is up to $500. I told Simba that offer was unacceptable and they offered 5% or return the tub. I agree to return the tub and asked when they would pick it up. They replied saying to contact Houzz because the issue was resolved on Simba's end. I contacted Houzz and they told me to report the return to Simba. I reported the return to Simba and they said to stop blackmailing them and that the issue is resolved.

I contacted Houzz again and they said Simba is offering 3%. I said no, Simba offered the option to return the tub and that is the offer I'm accepting. Houzz said they would look into the issue. Two days later I messaged Houzz again asking for an approximate expectation time for a resolution. They had no idea what I was talking about and offered me a 3% discount again. I again declined and said I'm exercising my option to return the tub. Houzz asked if I kept the original shipping packaging. I did not, it was damaged from the shipping process which is how the tub was damaged in the first place. Houzz said they will see if Simba would accept the produce return without the packaging.

The tub cost nearly $3200 and the repairs would cost approximately $500.00. The company easily could have resolved this entire issue by paying the repairs and being compensated by the shipping company. I provided them with photos of the product damaged before we even opened the box so they have proof it was damaged in shipping. But instead, they are trying to get out of fixing the issue and bouncing us back and forth hoping we will just go away. We won't. But I also wanted to warn anyone else from purchasing a third party product through Houzz. Do not be fooled by their otherwise good reviews. The one star is only because they respond quickly while giving the run around which I guess is better than no response at all.

I ordered pull-out trash cans from the Houzz website on Sept 22. At the time the order was placed, the item was in stock and I was given a Sept 27 estimated delivery date via standard shipping. On Sept 27, I checked the Houzz website to see that the order status still said "processing". I contacted Houzz for the revised delivery date, as clearly it was not going to arrive by Sept 27. I was told by the customer service rep at Houzz that they would contact the merchant to find out the status and would let me now. I didn't hear back from Houzz. So I contacted Houzz again. Again, I was told that they would contact the merchant to find out the status and would let me know. I then received an email from Houzz saying the item would be shipped that day.

That night, I received an email from Houzz indicated a revised estimated delivery date of Oct 7-8. That email said the item had been back-ordered. There was no indication on the Houzz website that the item was back-ordered. I would have NEVER placed the order had Houzz been honest about the status of the item. But honesty isn't something Houzz is concerned about. On Oct 4, I contact Houzz and told them to cancel the order. I didn't appreciate them changing the status of the item from in-stock to back-ordered without even informing me or giving me the opportunity to opt out, which any contract allows for when one party cannot meet the original agreed upon terms. But not Houzz. They don't care about their obligations to the customer.

Unfortunately for Houzz, their incompetent customer service rep accidentally sent the email that was intended for the merchant to me, later telling me to disregard that email. In that email, they instructed the merchant to cancel the order. More than 24 hours later, knowing full well that they were to cancel the order, instead they all of a sudden had the item in stock, packaged it up and sent. Houzz then, without my authorization, charged my credit card. I did not authorize them to charge my card for a back-ordered item. I made it very clear that I did not want the back-ordered item, but they charged my card anyway. They then sent return instructions where a refund would be issued only after the item was received and inspected. Of course, they were going to deduct the return shipping cost of $11.75 from that refund. I, of course, raised holy hell. First of all, they lied about the status of the item.

They made the customer believe the item was in stock when it wasn't. Then, when the status of the item changed to back-ordered, they did not offer me the opportunity to opt out free of charge, which they are required to do. And now they wanted me to pay the $11.75, and would only issue a refund after they had inspected the item. I reminded them that that was illegal and they had more than enough time to cancel the order. They said that for this one time, they would pay for the return shipping, but they still wouldn't issue the refund until the item was received and inspected. They charged my card when they shipped the item. I didn't have the opportunity to receive and inspect the item before they charged my card.

Why do they feel they have the right to receive and inspect the item before issuing a refund? The Houzz rep tried to say they contacted the merchant several times; however, it was Houzz that charged my card, not some random merchant. Don't believe what they tell you. Houzz most definitely could have and should have stopped the shipment and NOT charged my card. But rather than do the right thing, they decided to charge my card without my authorization. In my opinion, this company is an absolute scam. They will do everything they can to get money out of customers without honoring their side of the purchase contract. They will leave customers sitting without any idea when their items will arrive because Houzz doesn't care that their merchants flip flop the status of their items without telling customers.

Houzz should be out of business. I will NEVER use this company again. I would strongly urge everyone, especially as the holiday season approaches and this company continues to disregard its commitments to its customers, to go elsewhere. Your money and time are to valuable to waste it on a crappy company like Houzz.
