    Beware! This is the first—and last—time I will ever do business with Houzz. I spent over $1,400 for a door handle set that was scheduled for delivery by the 12th. When they had not arrived by the 15th, I reached out to Houzz for assistance. Houzz relies on a third-party customer service company, which resulted in days of delays as the service provider repeatedly requested information from Houzz. Houzz did not respond until the third attempt. I later learned that the items were out of stock—and most likely were already out of stock at the time of purchase—yet Houzz made no attempt to notify me.

    All follow-up and investigation had to be initiated by me. These items were purchased specifically to be installed in advance of a Christmas party I hosted yesterday, making the delay especially disappointing. After contacting the third-party customer service yet again today, I was finally promised a refund, which I am told will be processed in approximately five days.

    Awful customer service. Took them 9 days to respond back to me and only after I opened a claim through my bank. They were kind of rude in their response not even apologizing that it took them forever to get back to me, acting like I received the right product as ordered. I had plenty of proof I received the wrong product and all they said is "we will find out from vendor". I ordered from Houzz not from the vendor so to me they should give me a better response that this since I'm out of the money with a product I don't want. I will never order from them again.

    Houzz started off with a good sell from a customer service agent that gave good information and optimism. We did not get one lead after signing a 1 year contract that we were told we can cancel at any time. We tried getting out of this joke of a company many times to try and place advertising somewhere else to no avail. Stay away. They are crooks and do little to help.

    I placed an order for an item that was “in stock” on Shop Houzz on 11/20. Washington billed immediately. Silence for six days. I emailed and rep supposedly checked with vendor and it was supposed to ship in a few days, allegedly. Now it is 12/1 and still no word. Called the 800-number to cancel and was told again that they would check with vendor and give it 72 hours. I mentioned that I had already had someone check and am contemplating filing a dispute with my credit card company. Turns out the vendor never responded to my initial inquiry. Rep said he would process my refund immediately. Hmmm. Here’s hoping I get it. I would strongly advise against buying anything through ShopHouzz.

    Worst customer service experience ever. We ordered a dining table and it arrived damaged. For almost a month, we have been trying to get a return label and still haven’t received one. They keep emailing saying they will send a shipping label “soon,” but nothing ever comes. It is impossible to reach anyone by phone, the call cuts off after a few rings every single time. When we asked for a partial refund for the damaged item, they refused and instead offered 10% off a future purchase. Completely unacceptable.

    We have used Houzz for 10 years. Recently, they spun off their shopping aspect to ShopHouzz.com. Service is abysmal! We have ordered just 2 things in the past year, and each time the order was screwed up and we spent countless hours trying to get a return. We were directed to the third party selling the goods. Our business will never do business with Shop Houzz.com again. Check out Perigold or go to one of your reputable providers you have as a designer.

    Updated on 11/23/2025: HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY! Ordered a baby dresser and crib on 11/1. Delivered the dresser with damaged bent draw handles. Crib not on truck and MIA.. HOUZZ has not clue where it is, no accountability. Delivery people dirtied a brand new rocking chair in baby's room... Still no communication after 6 days when they promised a resolution in 48 hours.. The worst company ever.. Stay far away.. far away.

Deliverymen put black handmarks all over my daughter's new rocking chair! They want to take 15% off for damaged dresser and want me to file an claim for soiled chair! Crib they need to investigate!     I used to buy from Houzz often for remodeling needs. Now that they have changed platforms and are ShopHouzz I would avoid them at all costs. Their customer service is non existent. I ordered a vessel sink for a bathroom remodel. It arrived completely shattered. Emailed through the correct channel requesting a refund/return the day it was delivered. Never got a response back. Since the initial email I have sent 6 more as well as filling a complaint with BBB. Still no response from the company and I am now past my return window and left with a shattered sink, and I’m out the money it cost to buy the sink.

    On October 16, 2025, I purchased a bathroom vanity from ShopHouzz.com. When it arrived, I found that there were issues with the many decorative pieces attached to the outside of the vanity: pits, small chips and cracks in the paint, gaps between the attached pieces and the vanity; just overall bad workmanship on this aspect of the vanity. TBH, it looked like a floor model rather than a new one.

    I contacted ShopHouzz repeatedly and never received even an acknowledgement, let alone a response. Worth noting: Through the BBB, Houzz now claims that they are no longer responsible for their own sales!     So, what's funny (not!) is that address links to the same site I've been sending messages from. Obviously, they don't care if 1) their products look like crap, 2) they treat their customers like crap or 3) their business's reputation is crap. I saw plenty of good reviews when I researched Houzz before making my purchase. Now that I'm looking again, I've found warnings that they attempt to filter out the negative reviews. It figures. You know, all they had to do was communicate and maybe refund me a few bucks to try and fix the sloppiness of their work, but even the BBB couldn't get them to do that. I wish I could give them zero stars.

    I used Houzz to find a contractor for a home renovation project. My experience was, unfortunately, quite poor. Initially, the promise of competitive pricing and flexibility seemed great. However, as work progressed, issues began cropping up, such as communication failures, unexpected demands for deposits, and ultimately, unmet expectations in workmanship quality.

    One of my critical issues was with the bathroom renovation. The project management appeared poor, and the scheduled timeline was disregarded. The contractor insisted I order my own bathtub, which they assured would fit, only to leave it unused. Furthermore, a bathroom niche was installed awkwardly, making it essentially unusable, and the vanity had been an enormous frustration. Despite charging for a costly custom-built piece, they attempted to pass off a cheap substitute, prompting a dispute.

    Escalation to the contractor’s president yielded temporary concessions, but their repeated failures persisted. Attempts to correct installations turned into unwarranted surprises that bypassed the agreed oversight. The issues mounted until legal arbitration became necessary due to unresolved discrepancies and them putting a lien on my home.

    While I feel the responsibility for conducting thorough checks lies with the consumer, my trust in the recommendations featured on Houzz has surely waned. Nevertheless, my disappointment stems from the contractor's disservice, leaving me entangled in prolonged arbitration to resolve the ongoing issues.

    As a designer that had worked with them for 4 years, this website had deteriorated significantly. Spam leads, locked contracts, unnotified upcharges monthly that they do not warn anyone about. They do not send renewal notices, do not send "promotional changes" notices. They are a money grab that locks you in. The leads given are fraudulent 80% of the time. There is other software out there with much better customer service, terms, and leads.

    I returned my items in a timely manner all according to their return policy, have proof that my return was received, was advised that my refund would be processed promptly once my items were received, over a month has passed and I am still waiting for my refund. I cannot get anyone to communicate with me or acknowledge that my return was received despite repeated attempts to contact Houzz through their email system which appears to be the only way to contact Houzz.

    The sculpture that I ordered as a memorial arrived broken. Houzz closed my return request without advising how to return the item for refund. They suggest a replacement. As the piece obviously would not survive outdoors, I did not want a replacement. Am still going around and around with them. They have changed the website now so that it is difficult to find out how to request a return without getting stuck in a loop.

    I ordered a pellet stove part from Houzz based on its being less than I've seen it elsewhere. I need this part to finish my install.     Here is my experience with Houzz. I'll let you decide if you want to make a purchase on their website:
    7/21/25: Placed order for vanity and mirror; credit card charged, advised via email to expect the order by 8/1.
    7/22/25: "Hooray, your order has been shipped." Tracking number is for an item that shipped in 2023.
    7/23/25: Contacted Houzz regarding wrong tracking number. Advised that Houzz with get correct tracking number.
    7/24/25: Contacted Houzz regarding not getting correct tracking number. Was advised items were out of stock. [Note that I had to call Houzz to find this out; they didn't reach out to me.] Was advised they will check with vendor to see if item can be shipped out of Kansas.
    7/25/25: Contacted Houzz; was advised that the two items will be shipped separately on Monday from Kansas and California.
    7/29/25: Contacted Houzz because I didn't received a shipping notice nor a tracking number on 7/28 or 7/29. Was advised they will contact vendor to see about shipping from Kansas [note: this is not a repeat of the 7/24 conversation]. I went nuts, saying this is the same thing I was told five days ago! I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was first told there is no supervisor. When pressed that they must report to somebody, I was told agents do not have the ability to transfer calls. I asked to have a supervisor call me ASAP. Agent said they would also contact vendor to follow up on shipping date.

    7/30/25: Contacted Houzz to follow up on the 7/29 phone call. Agent called the vendor while I was on the phone, and was advised that items were out of stock, and not expected until September. I canceled the order and will hopefully receive a refund without more issues cropping up. Still haven't received a phone call from supervisor.

    I have emails for each of the dates listed above. It is unbelievable to me that Houzz has no control over their vendors, and no control over communicating with customers. I don't understand how they stay in business.

    At first everything sounded good, the salesperson on a video conference shared their screen so we could see the Houzz Pro software and all it offers for our business. We made a deposit of $1,500 (6/26/25) to start the trail. We tried to use the app and software. However, we could never get the products to work the way the salesperson's screenshare worked. They never said the balance of $6,180 would automatically be charged a week later (7/3/25). It wasn't until we asked for a refund that someone took action to help with the software. We never successfully used the app or any of the software. We have a business to run and playing email tag is time consuming. When we continued to ask for a refund, we were told that wasn't possible and they could switch our account to the advertising part of the business.

    Reluctantly we agreed since they said it was our only option. Not sure why a request for refund was denied, we are less than 30 days in at that time. In an email the representative said there would be no additional charges (especially since they already had over $7,180). Well, this morning (7/29/25) we found out they took an additional $6,921.60 making the grand total of $14,601.60!! And we have received nothing of value. This puts our business and livelihood in extreme peril. We've contacted our credit card company, but that process isn't fast and they have to wait for the pending charges to clear before they can do anything. Buyers beware. This company does not have honor or integrity. This is devastating to us financially and operationally.

    This is the worst company with the worst customer service. Your front line of contact is a call center overseas who are incapable of handling any issues. I purchased a $1400 product, received a product that did not match the description on their website, promptly returned the item but they're charging me $300 return shipping fee... even though it is their fault. Tried to contact them numerous times by phone, email and chat for 3 weeks, but they have yet to issue a full refund. Every time I contact them, they just repeat the same script 'Rest assured, we are researching this and someone will reach out to you... blah blah blah.' Stay far far away from Houzz!!!

    This store can’t ship a product correctly, and then leaves messages for you that sound like spam. When asking them what are they going to do about it- complete silence. I paid for a product I didn’t receive, with no solution to correct it.

    I have been reaching out to request the immediate cancellation of my Houzz Pro membership for several months and keep getting passed around to different representatives. When I initially signed up, I was under the impression that I was enrolling in a monthly plan. At no point during the signup process was it clearly communicated that this was a 12-month commitment at $249 a month. I only became aware of the annual contract terms after trying to cancel my membership and I have not actively used the service in months.

    This has been an unexpected financial burden, and I would not have signed up had the full terms been clear. I believe the lack of transparency during the registration process is a serious issue and does not align with fair business practices. The unfortunate thing is that this product is actually really great and I was recommending to my friends to use in their renovations. I'm simply a homeowner looking to get some remodel ideas - I'm certainly not looking to pay $249 a month for 12 months.

    I enjoy Houzz’s website, which I find user-friendly and appealing for contemporary style choices. I've revisited the site multiple times, drawn by its clean layout and ease of use.

    While browsing, I purchased items and I'm pleased with their products' quality – it's very nice and meets my expectations. However, while I find their product quality satisfactory, the pricing can be a bit on the higher side. Given my experiences, I would recommend Houzz to those interested in contemporary styles, as their selection in this area is impressive.

    Overall, the experiences I've had with Houzz have been positive. If contemporary style is what you're seeking, I’d say give Houzz a try!

    IF Houzz ends up doing the right thing, I will come back and revise my review - but in the mean time, I feel the need to be honest about my current experience with Houzz. I've spent the past several months looking for a dining table and chairs. I would prefer to shop local but, have found nothing even close to what I was looking for. I found what looks to be a beautiful set on Houzz. Of course the chairs are sold separately. I found the chairs on other websites all stating a SET OF 2 for a similar price or less, but I figured it would be easiest to order from one place instead of two. Because Houzz didn't specify a set of two, I called their customer service prior to placing my order to inquire. The girl put me on hold for 5 mins, came back and said she called the manufacturer and yes it's two chairs. I repeated it, "it's a set of two chairs?" She said yes.

    Later that day I took the leap and ordered the table and the chairs, selecting a qty of 2 chairs, expecting to receive 4 (thinking it was $732 for two chairs, almost $1500 for 4). I'm still awaiting the arrival of the table, but the chairs came last week. Just TWO chairs arrived. I called c/s immediately (while the delivery people waited) - and after 35 mins got no resolve but was told I'd probably be responsible for return shipping EVEN THOUGH THEIR CUSTOMER SVC PROVIDED ME WRONG INFORMATION. Had she provided accurate information I would've simply ordered the chairs elsewhere. I nicely told her anything less than a full refund or to ship two more chairs at no cost, was unacceptable. I got no where.

    I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told their supervisor doesn't take phone calls ?! That was 5 days ago and I'm still waiting to hear back from them. It shouldn't be a tough resolution - their customer service made the mistake - they just need to make it right. I even provided screen shots showing them that every other website selling the same chairs, including from the same manufacturer - states clearly it is a SET OF 2, and then Houzz c/s confirmed that before I ordered them. Depending on how this pans out, will determine if I'd ever do business with Houzz again.

    I had purchased a bathroom vanity in the past and it was a good experience, so you can imagine how disappointed and frustrated I am with THIS experience. Hopefully they will do the right thing and accept responsibility. When they do, I will come back here and share the positive news and update the review. I'll reserve final judgement until I have resolve. Stay tuned....

    The attached photo is from a competitors website selling the same chairs from the same manufacturer - notice it is a SET OF 2 for $426. Houzz.com's price is $731. That means if it wasn't a set of 2, they expect a customer to pay almost $3k for 4 chairs. ?!? Who would do that? Fingers crossed they do the right thing and make this right.

    I was pressured by a contractor to remove a negative review. Against my better judgement, I did and when I went to repost it Houzz blocked my ability to do so. Houzz lacks the people and platform rules for contractors to be a reliable source for connecting homeowners and contractors.
