This company changed the way you can make payments online, and did not send notices to anyone that is on a NO interest % for a term of contract if paid on time. I tried to make a payment on their new site, and now it does not allow no interest customers to pay online. No way around it. You can make it by phone with a rep, but it will cost 4 dollars extra. Or you can mail it in or pay at the store you bought it. Let's talk about inconveniencing the customer shall we! I will never buy from this company again. The store itself where the furniture was sold at is just fine. It is the company that processes the customers' payments. They do not stand behind us. If they are not making more money per interest fees, you are not important.

My husband was approved credit. We went Saturday to purchase a refrigerator. He signed the paperwork. Paid the down payment. They said it would be delivered Monday. Well Monday they called said they priced it wrong. Then canceled our agreement. Ripped up our contract and issued a refund. I will never do business with these frauds again. I wish there was zero stars.

I purchased a king-size mattress from Farmers Furniture in Rockingham NC. Before I made my purchase I asked for a mattress cover because I have a toddler. The staff told me they didn't have mattress covers but I could purchase the warranty that included all water damage and stains. My son spilled something on my mattress which I anticipated so I purchased the warranty. I contacted the store and they gave me a spray cleaner which didn't work. They told me a manager would contact me which no manager ever did.
I randomly received a phone call from Stanley Steemer to schedule a cleaning appointment. J don't do business with Stanley Steemer because two of their employees stole money out of my home during a cleaning years prior. I contacted the store asking them could they send another cleaning company in which they refused. I was mislead about the warranty thinking they would replace my mattress if damaged and never got it cleaned because they refused to use another company. I will never do business with them again.

Purchased a new mattress set 3 weeks ago & it still smells. I have had fans running & windows open but when I walk in my room it smells. I have to sleep in the middle of the bed so the spring does not hit my hip. When my boyfriend is in bed, we have to roll over slowly so the other person does not fall out of the bed. I have called the dm because I have been told I can only exchange and not get a refund. So, I purchased a new mattress set that is a piece of junk and you don't stand behind the products you sell?? I will update this when the dm contacts me.

We bought 2 couches from them and a mattress all in the same day. Within 2 months one couch broke (back brace broke and bottom that hold Springs). They sent a repairman to fix it. It was repaired. Same couch broke 2 months later same spot. Repairman came out saying it’s cheap wood they were built with. He replaced with a piece of poplar wood. 1 month later the 2nd couch broke same place different side.
Christmas break, repairman is on vacation (understood). The manager suggested we must be jumping on the couch or flopping vs sitting on the couch. This is unprofessional and not the way we treat our furniture. Your own repairman says it’s made cheaply. Go elsewhere if you want furniture that will last.. Farmers in Barnesville Ga. Based off of the 30+ reviews JUST here of crap furniture, I’ll give corporate 24 hours to call me before I move further. Mine is paid for. No issues with financing or payments.. Just want what size paid for.

Bought a lawnmower. Got behind on a couple payments. They call and harass both me and my husband several times a day on both our cells. This is AFTER I have already made arrangements. When I did call to make a payment, I clearly stated I was only authorizing 1 payment and would be calling soon to set up the next arrangement. They took 2 payments instead of only 1. We were making every attempt to quickly get our account back in good standing, was taking the steps to so so and now, while taking an unauthorized money from our strict budget, they have only made the situation worse and set us back even more. We will never do business with them in the future and would never RECOMMEND them to anyone!

I purchased the Groovy Sectional Living Room set. It looks great in the store; but it has been the worst furniture purchase ever!. It began when the metal latch that attaches the lounge piece to the sofa broke. My husband is not able to attach the lounge to the sofa. Next, I noticed that the legS on the ottoman all slanted inward. We began calling the store and complaining about the furniture. Farmers said they would fix the ottoman. In the meantime, a few weeks passed and one corner of the ottoman has sunken to the floor because the leg is almost parallel to the floor. We discovered that the frame is not metal or solid wood. It's particle board so the big chunky legs are screwed into a frame which can't support the piece.
Months later, the store replaced the ottoman. The legs still slant inward. We don't use the furniture often; but after about a year and a half of complaining and my husband going back and forth with the store manager. I come home one day and the sofa cushion next to the the right arm is sunken in. We take a closer look and the sofa bottom has basically fallen apart. To our horror, the sofa bottom and frame are made of particle board!!! Little nails are sticking out and exposed; the particle board is exposed! My husband refuses to make any more payments on the furniture.
The store manager won't allow us to select a different set. He only says that he will replace ours with a new set in the same style. What good is that going to do when the furniture is made of particle board and not safe or fit to be used? By the way the swivel side chair does not swivel if you are sitting in it! The store is also sending negative reports to the credit bureau because my husband is refusing to make payments on the furniture that is falling apart and poorly constructed. DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM THIS COMPANY. MY WORST EXPERIENCE AS A CONSUMER, EVER!

Been 2 years ago, my sister and myself went to the Farmers Furniture here in Perry Georgia. While during our visit, manager and customer service was very friendly and helpful. My sister purchased a beautiful leather wrap around sectional sofa, since the day of the purchase, every payment has been made right on time for 2 years straight. After the first year, sofa started falling apart, the seats in the sofa are wearing completely out, now one of the recliners, on the end of the sofa, will not recline what so ever. The manager sent Farmers Furniture serviceman out, to pick it up, and send off for repairs. Sectional came back within 2 weeks started falling apart again.
3 weeks ago, we went back to report the problem. Still waiting to hear when they will pick this up and fix this problem, and fix it right. Also she purchased table with 4 stool chairs. Needless to say 2 of the stools are completely falling apart. Hopefully this matter will be resolved shortly. If not maybe we need to load this up and deliver this back to Farmers Furniture. There is no sense of paying for something in this poor of quality. It's really embarrassing, when friends and family visit, and someone almost falls off the sofa, or to even try to sit at the table, in one of your stools that are falling apart. Hopefully this matter will be taken care of. It's really sad that payments have to still be made on this poor quality furniture.

I finance a mattress set, TV, and sound bar that was suppose to be 12 months Interest Free back in November of 2017. My intentions were to pay off the loan at tax time as I usually get a good amount back. I financed approximately 1500.00 of stuff, paid payments until Feb. 2018 when I called for payoff thinking it would be somewhere around $1000.00 and was told it was $2800.00 by many employees there even the Finance person. When I pointed out that the total cost of my furniture was half that so how could that be interest free. They still refused to budge.
At this time I did get upset and was hung up on. So finally after not paying for nearly two months on the loan a new employee called me to collect and I explained the situation to her, she was very polite and promised to look into it and call me back. Which she did, and she apologized profusely b/c of the past relations as when she called me back I was right. I was told I owed $847.67. This was in July 2018, I then agreed I would pay 212.00 a month until November so the account could be paid off and wrote this amount down on a piece paper and have kept it till this day.
Fast forward to this week, 2 days ago I called to see when the exact pay off date was due to the fact it was October 31st and I was waiting for a new debit card in the mail. I was told pay off was 287.00 and due by November 11 in order to stay within the 12 month interest free period, sounded right so I thought everything was fine. I called today 2 days later and I was first told $1200.00 for payoff and then now being told $600.00 to payoff. I am completely outraged that this company could get away such indiscretions and can't employee better managers and people to handle their system. NEVER NEVER AGAIN! I am so outraged by this that I would like to file a lawsuit for the anxiety and worry it has caused me!

I’ll start by saying the lady at the store was nice. That’s where it ends. My husband and I bought our first house and wanted a nice bedroom set instead of our hand-me-down falling apart stuff. We bought a bed (which I do love!), and a frame & headboard for it, along with a dresser, 2 nightstands, and an armoire. When the moving guys dropped it off, they broke one of the nightstands and said a new one would be brought to us. Well, as we’d just moved in and we’re still unpacking and painting and such, it was a few weeks before we remembered to call about it. Not sure of the exact dates but it took about a month to get the nightstand.
Shoot ahead a few more weeks and I’ve decided to jump on the shiplap band-wagon and shiplap the wall behind our bed and paint our other 3 walls. In the process of moving the furniture, we found that there’s a fist sized hole in the back of the dresser, a slightly smaller sized hole in the headboard (it’s one of those headboards where the front has a cubby you can put books in or such), the frame is clearly either poorly measured or for a California king size bed (we have a king) so that there’s a solid 6-8 inches between bed and edge of frame, and, the fake top marble of the nightstand came completely off and I had to glue it back on. Not impressed that we paid almost $4,000 for furniture that broken. Never again. Lesson learned.

My husband and I purchased a couch and loveseat about 5 months ago. We paid really good money for our furniture. Long story short it is no good falling apart and we have requested a new set or trade out for something else. Every time I call I get the runaround... it's been submitted so forth and so forth. I WANT IT REPLACED... all I get is, “We are working on it.” I really hate this because my little sales girl is extremely knowledgeable and so so sweet... Start doing business with Farmers Home Furniture 2017. After reading reviews I knew it was not me. I am in Prattville, AL when I first started business with them. They had a store manager who was very pleasant and helpful. In January she left but gave me a courtesy call which was very nice. By this time (3 months later) I had paid that bill off and now purchased a living room set. Before she left I paid mostly all of it and purchased a bedroom set. When she left and the replacement staff came in I got my first taste of rude service.
Once I called and was told everyone was with new employees, meaning there was no time for me. Then he hung the phone up in my face. I know how you guys feel about the calls. Even after I told them I was not working at the time had asked for insurance on purchase but somehow that was messed up. I pray my furniture don’t fall apart. So in August I decided to pay them off in full. I was told one price over phone and when I went in it was more than I was told. The service I got was rude and ** you and we don’t care and can’t fix it if there is a problem. I told my daughter to just pay it. If I should ever need anything else I will ensure me or my family do not business with them. I spent close to 6000 or more with them from September 2017 to February 2018 but I will never spend a dime with them again. Worst service ever. Don’t waste your time calling DM.

My wife and I purchased a home in 2017. After moving in we found we needed a fridge so I filled out an online credit application for Farmers Home Furniture. I was called within the hour and told that I was approved for a certain amount. We went to the store and picked out our fridge and a few other items. We were telling the finance officer we would be paying off the items within a month. She advised that we should not close out the account, because if we did, and needed something else then we would have to fill out another credit application. So we decided to keep it open, Fast Forward to about a year later.
We wanted to purchase new patio furniture. We go to pick out what we liked, and we are told they have to do another hard credit pull because we haven't purchased anything within the past 6 months. This totally contradicted what we were told when we opened the account. Apparently on time payments does not matter to Farmers. I'm pretty sure I was told to keep the account going just so they could continue to collect finance charges. Once these items are paid off, we will never use Farmers Home Furniture again.

I've been with the Farmers Furniture brand for a very long time. However today was the first time I've seen such lack of respect and poor customer service towards a paying customer, especially coming from the store manager (Sylvania, Ga). The floor sales ladies/men have always been wonderful and this review in no way shape or form reflects them in any way. Today I was verbally disrespected over the phone and in person by the store manager Sandy. My husband (account holder) & I had some issues with the account due to the fault of the store and wanted to find out where the disconnect was and if it was something either one of us can do. After speaking with the manager, my husband told me to call to make sure everything was set up correctly because he was still at work when he first talked to the manager.
Of course I called as I have in the past but this time I was met with a very unapologetic and uncaring attitude after explaining my concerns. Even when I asked respectfully why the rudeness I was still met with a nasty attitude. My husband & I went to the store to talk to the manager in person and the appalling behavior from the manager continued. Her tone and approach was awful! Even when I told her she had a bad attitude and she shouldn't talk to customers in such a manner she graciously thanked me. She proceeded to explain to me in a condescending way that "everyone makes mistakes and when I become perfect then I can talk to her". What is a paying customer to do when you have an account issue and you can't even go to the manager of the store??? I will never do business with this store again and I advise anyone else not to as well.

Bought one of the most expensive Italian Leather Sets (Leather Couch and Loveseat) they carry. No issues with purchase or delivery date. We have a narrow door opening, and made sure to speak to the delivery manager while we were there regarding plans of how to get it in the house. He said he would take the set completely apart, and it wouldn't be an issue. Set was delivered and they did take the loveseat partially apart, damaging it getting it in the door. Then the couch they decided to not dismantle (for some reason). When it wouldn't fit, they took it down on the concrete, and spun it on the ground with nothing under it, damaging that piece as well. I found seven total defects between the two pieces. I called the store and got an email address because I wanted everything documented. Sent the pictures and a new set was ordered to arrive the following week (which would be almost two weeks after the initial sale.)
The day my furniture was to be delivered, the manager called me to say that the couch was damaged upon receipt. I was understanding as she said they would go the warehouse to get another, and that both pieces would be delivered 4-5 days later. Fine, just get this right. Delivery day came and the pieces that they delivered were worse than the original damaged pieces. The delivery driver let it slip that they attempted to repair the couch that was delivered damaged the days prior. At this point I was livid that my husband had taken another day off of work to accept delivery of expensive, less than perfect furniture.
I called the store, and she says that they have another set on order. I wanted to know why they would even have bothered to deliver a less than perfect set to me. The manager says, "our leather medic is the best in the business". Even if that were the case, which it wasn't, I still would not have accepted that piece. Then, as I was very upset, I sent a somewhat scathing email to the store manager. She then called me immediately, her exact words. "what do you hope to accomplish by being ugly", and "if you think that name calling is going to get you anywhere then you are mistaken".
I then proceeded to tell her that all I want is for her to have not lied to me, or attempted to defraud me not give me lame excuses. I just want a pristine brand new furniture set that I had purchased. I told her to cancel the sale and get the piece of furniture ASAP. I then sent an email asking for confirmation and paperwork showing that the credit account and sale had been cancelled. As of 6 hours later, I have yet to have received anything. I will never do business with this company again.

This same store, a year ago took my credit card information and paid another customer's payment with it, then had the nerve to tell me it was going to take 2 weeks to go back into my bank account! On top of that they make you pay a $4.00 fee to make a payment by phone as they don't offer any other payment option other than to come into the store. I will NEVER do business with this company EVER again! They lie, cheat you and are unprofessional. Take your business elsewhere. FYI... According to lenders they frown on accounts through Farmers Furniture, as it doesn't impress them any, credit-wise.

I am writing this complaint. Due to my furniture not being delivered at all! I called the store and they kept telling me that the delivery guys say 45 minutes. Or I am the next person on the list for furniture to be delivered. Still no delivery. They were supposed to delivered the furniture on Sept 2, 2017. No one called me and told me anything as to say "we are late and won't be coming." I know when a store is closed. The delivery still has to go on until the lady furniture is delivered. This was a bad experience for me. And I will call my attorney.

I have used this store previously and was very satisfied but unfortunately I recently purchased a living room set that when was delivered looked like a repo. And cushions was so flat it hurts to sit on it. Called and they said they would come to check it and never did. I called a month later and got a runaround telling me there was nothing they could do.
And then they sold me a TV and fireplace that was supposed to be new but come to find out it was refurbished. And they add one to the account that they say will leave your payment the same. Well it will but you will pay for it a very long time and all the interest and insurance and warranties they add to your acct is ridiculous. They are very rude to you when you try to talk to them regarding any complaints about what your account. Since this Anniston store has changed ownership to employ owned it is the worst I've ever dealt with. I would never recommend them to anyone and will never ever do business with them again. All their things are used and refurbished. Very cheap made. It is more like a rental place than a business. Do not ever do business with Farmers Home Furniture in Anniston Al. I have purchased furniture from Farmers Furniture in Arab, AL several times and have never had any issues. However, a year after purchasing a loveseat and sofa in 2015 I lost my job in 2016. I was able to make steady payments because of the money I had saved but eventually that ran out. I called the manager numerous times to work out a plan to make smaller payments and he refused telling me there was nothing he could do. I had to borrow money from my son to make payments and even then I couldn't keep up especially when my unemployment ran out. Now I am 2 mo. the behind again and cannot make a payment so they have threatened to take me to court.
The set that I bought was $659.00 and $699.00 along with the washer and dryer I had $800.00. That would be $2158.00 total. When it was financed I originally owed them almost $4100.00. That is almost double what I actually owed. I now owe less than $1500.00 and they refuse to help me. This place is a joke and they are all rude. My ex husband has tried to make a payment and they have refused to take it. He isn't even on my account but was trying to help me out either!!!! Good luck with trying to take me to court with no job... Come get your crappy furniture that I have already paid almost $3000.00 for. Don't ever, ever buy anything from them. I am writing this review out of concern for others; I just ran across this site. I made a purchase of @ $1000 at a Farmer's in Fort Valley, Ga; however, it was probably in 2013. Nonetheless, I have done several 6-12 months purchases with several businesses and was never required to have insurance and the exorbitant interest included in the purchase price upfront. I was told that one was required to show proof of homeowners insurance if they did not include the insurance at the time of purchase. I have excellent credit and could have gotten the furniture elsewhere but I knew that I would pay it off in the allotted time without having to pay all those charges but what about those disadvantaged and elderly who I saw making purchases there? I thought they will be paying forever because if they make the minimum payment, that is just covering insurance and the interest that they have already included in the final cost.
I paid off my balance within the given 12 month period and the person who handled the final payment told me that she had never handled a transaction to remove these charges. That somewhat confirmed my concern for others who make purchases there. This is my truthful experience and I have discarded all my receipts, paperwork, etc. because I had no intention of doing business again with Farmer's due to what I believed was an unfair and unbelievable policy. I do still have the furniture which is peeling which is because of the material. The salesperson did tell me that I shouldn't have a problem with that because it was a better material. Oh well.

I was prepared to pay cash and have it delivered but instead the sales person suggested that I do an "add-on" to my account with about approximately $300.00 dollars cap. Well that "add-on" turned into a $599.00 ticket. My monthly payments went from $122.00 to $125.00. They now claim that I purchased a new sectional sofa that was reduced from $799.00. I am a credit customer with this business. They are aware of my pay dates and consistent payments based on court proceedings that their company rushed and filed after having over a year of payments from me. Like clock work, each month on the due date I begin to receive numerous calls from different phone numbers associated with the business. I have requested to the manager that the harassing calls discontinue, especially after I have dealt directly with the manager in reference to my payment. I continue to receive multiple calls as though my account was not updated or communication between sales representatives were not properly disseminated.
This has been one of my most stressful and unpleasant dealings with a creditor. The company is very unprofessional, does not adequately explain clauses within the contract that significantly affect one's total balance (late fees that are not discussed upon obtaining credit and customers are treated in a very condescending manner due to the fact of having fair credit ratings). I would not recommend shopping or applying for credit with Farmers Furniture. They are in the business of putting customers in bondage. Don't go into their store unless you are purchasing with cash. The store said it didn't come on the truck so they made me wait another week for delivery. The following Tuesday the delivery driver called me and my address was incorrect on the order. I was confused because my address has been the same since I was a customer. Once I cleared the address they were going to deliver my bed but no mattress. I called the store and the manager said I paid for a plastic mattress cover and bed but no mattress. Lies!!!
The bed was $399 so if my total was 532 where is the rest of my money? She said my total was 504 and the mattress covers were $69!!! What?!! Then she said, "Bring in your contract!!!" What contract? Never signed one. I paid a layaway no financing!!! I then told her I want my $ back. She said I would have to get it from corporate! Are you serious?!! Two weeks later I asked when the new chairs would be arriving and I was told they did not know. I explained to her that I feed my animals first thing in mornings and am not in the house. She was being nasty attitude towards me... I told her I had a payment to make... She said she wanted the late fees and the monthly... I told her I had my monthly 90.00 and that was all I could make at the time. She refused to take it and said she would come and get my freezer if I did not give her all she wanted then.
I told her I had 90.00 on me to make the payment... She said something smart and I told her 'cause she was in such a lousy mood "Don't take it out on me." She retorted that it wasn't her that couldn't afford her bills... Then we got in to a little insulting match which led to her yelling at me to make the payment she wanted or leave. I told her to ** herself and left...
This morning they are burning my phone up for the payment. When she apologizes she will get it but I'm not her whipping boy when she's in a pissed off mood... And SHE WAS A MANAGER THERE... Well it is Oct 4, 2016 and is still on my credit report as open with 107 dollar balance! Mind you every time I was late with a payment it showed up on my credit report like clockwork the next month. So I called the store here in Brewton, Al to speak with the same store manager that had personally signed my receipt, and he said "we have no control over it being reported" and gave me the number to Equifax.
They seemed to get annoyed at the fact that I had paid off my balance, and we're very dismissive, and quickly got off the phone. It's ironic that when they were trying to collect their money, they harassed me with daily back to back phone calls, telling me to please return the call because it was so important. I guess me as a customer being helped was not important enough! Don't buy from them. They are predatory lenders, with very poor customer service skills. BUYER BEWARE: My complaint at this point is against Farmers Furniture on Abercorn in Savannah, GA. I went in last year to purchase furniture, I was greeted by Rick who then was the manager. He was very kind and understanding. He never made me feel as if I was an inconvenience, he's no longer at the store. I was greeted by a new manager whose name is Bruce. To say the least Bruce is for the company and not the customers who keep the business going.
I went in to purchase a new living room set last year 2015. At the time it was a managers special. I was told that the furniture would be $1949.00 plus taxes. However, upon dealing with Bruce, he wanted me to pay out a previous account which I had been paying on at the time for over a year. I told them that I would wait before purchasing anything else hence the manager's special. I was paying faithfully until I ran into a health problem which has caused me to have to move. I contacted the store and told them when I was going to make a payment which by the way I was only late one time out of two years with the company, those people called me 6 times a day literally as if my situation was going to change, they tried to get me to do a post dated check. I said absolutely not. I asked them to please note on my account when I would be in there, hmph! The calls kept coming.
I also, explained that the living room suit kept breaking and the credit manager assured me that Bruce would be in contact with me. Yeah, right two weeks later and yet nothing has happened except he yelled at me when I was trying to understand why I am owing over $3300.00 on a $1949.00 set that was a manager's special. If this is how Farmers treats their loyal customers I will not be dealing with them ever again.
I also, asked Bruce did I need to contact corporate. He yelled and said "YOU CAN CALL CORPORATE." At that point there was nothing else to be said, I feel as if I have been discriminated against as a ** person, and again as a female, and again as a poor person. He talked at me as if I was illiterate. I'm anything but illiterate. All I ask is to be treated fairly, with dignity not as a $ sign. Farmers really needs to make my account right and not try to explain to me why you are screwing me with no Vaseline, Bruce wants to show me on his paperwork how he's able to manipulate the numbers to his store advantage.

Now I know, because after 2 years of having this furniture its ruined. I am going to have to throw it away. I can't patch it up. I called the corporate office, left a message and they referred me to the Farmers Furniture I bought it from. They did call me back and ask me to send pictures. I was hopeful something would be done because I did have a warranty, which is useless. Once you pay off it don't count anymore. They basically said they can't do anything for me, not even refer me to someone who can repair. It sucks because you pay a lot for this and after a year or so it's useless and they can't do anything for you. So the warranty is useless and I just felt I got ripped off.
I will never purchase anything from them again. They got their money and don't care about the customer. The pit it started with a small snag, over weeks it grew and started just peeling away if you touched it. Now it's just ruin! Just please be aware that if they say leather please check quality. This material can't be patched up at all. Buyer please be aware. Dont waste your money! Fyi.

I went into the store, bought a living room set. The delivery date to the store was set for the following week on Tuesday. I arranged for the pick-up and when I called the store to alert them I was told the furniture did not come. I was told it would be on the truck the following Friday. I arranged for pick-up for Friday. On Friday the furniture did not come and I was not notified until the person picking it up arrived at the store.
When I got home the afternoon the furniture was not there. I called the store and was told it did not arrive. It was at this time I was first introduced to Derek (the store manager). Derek spoke down to me, was demeaning calling me Ms. ** very sarcastically. When I asked him not to do it anymore he started saying my first name very sarcastically. He approached me in the store room showcase in front of other customers. Finally we reached a contentious agreement that the furniture would be delivered to my house on Tuesday free of charge and that he would refund me a hundred dollar check for the inconvenience.
On the following Tuesday unlike promised, again no furniture and also no call. I had taken off from work early to get the furniture in the house. When I called the store due to the fact that they were a no show and no call, I was told the furniture was in the store and they would deliver it right now. I was angry over the lack of communication but wanted the furniture. I asked Derek if this furniture was the new furniture and not the showroom piece. He assured me it was the new furniture. I asked that the furniture be left in the plastic as my trust in this young man was nil. When the furniture arrived there was no plastic on it but the men assured me it was not the showroom furniture?
Yesterday 5/16/2016 I was looking at the furniture and noticed it sat low on the floor on the left-hand side and so I turned it over and when I did there were scratches along the bottom side and the left leg is malformed making the chair sit askew. I believe that Derek gave me the showroom loveseat (SKU number 165658) simply to appease me and get rid of me. This furniture has been in my house less than a month and already I am having issues with it. I am not sure what merit Derek was given the position he has but I am sure it has nothing to do with his winning personality, customer relations, or his trustworthiness.
I have taken pictures of this furniture (the loveseat) and want it out of my home and replaced with the new piece. I also want the $100.00 refund he promised me as he shot his big mouth off acting as though I was trying to get something for free and that if he dangled the refund in front of my face that would make everything else of no account. This communication transpired in the presence of other customers and employees. All I wanted from this guy was clear communication and follow through on what he promised. If he had told me it would take a month for the furniture it would have been information I needed to make an informed decision about whether I wanted to wait. When I have spoken to others about my experience the responses have been “Was it Derek?” What a coincidence…

Back in April 2014 my husband and I purchased a bed frame set and mattress from the Hartwell store after much consideration because we weren't really in need of a new bed. But we received a promotional card in the mail that showed the frame set for $799.00 and we picked a mattress that advertised being on sale for $199.00. That's where the problem began because after the manager went and "wrote" a sales order and contract and tried getting us to sign it without any kind of explanation of it or anything. We noticed that final payoff was $2100.00. What? We questioned the final price and was told that the bed was charged for each individual piece and mattress was too. We only need 1 mattress with this frame was told we had to purchase two for the 15 yr. warranty to be effective, so we did.
3 weeks later, our bed was finally delivered but it wasn't what we ordered. The frame was all beat up and damaged so badly that the delivery guy had a wood marker to cover all the spots and then we noticed the mattress was dirty and the edge was unstitched with a giant hole down the side of it. We called the manager immediately and he told us that a new one hadn't arrived yet so instead of us having to wait any longer he got a floor model from a different store. We sent it back and told him we would wait.
Two, three weeks went by finally got a call saying they were on the way to deliver it. Wrong mattress again but we were tired of waiting so we accepted it. Went to the store the next day to get our paperwork contract and warranty, he said he had mailed them. Never have gotten them, but still paid for the bed on time every month and paid it off early, but before I paid it off I informed them that the mattress had developed a horrible sag on one corner of it. I was informed that since I had no warranty that they couldn't do anything. Well 2 months after I paid it off here comes a guy from the store saying that he needed pics to send to the warranty department. Less than 30 minutes later, a woman from the store called and said because there was a spot on the mattress that my warranty was null and void. Somebody needs to stop their lies and fraud.

However, the price was then changed to $799.00 for the set. Immediately after being told it was $499.00 for the set. THE PRICE AT $799.00 for the entire set. Bait and switch! Bait with a low price and switch to a higher price. BUYER BEWARE! I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN. IS THAT NOT AGAINST SOME LAW? Yes I do have an eye witness. My friend also bought a set that was with me on that day that bought the same set, was told the same price and was given the same higher price as I was. What gives? Fair is fair and that ain't fair.

Bottom line... if you purchase anything from this company they will chase you down if your payment is even one day past the due date, call your phone multiple times per day, send texts, show up at your house and leave a business card that makes you feel like you are being stalked, and send threatening messages from a man that says that you "really need to call him" in an authoritative voice. The furniture was delivered by guys who scraped it across our front door and left a gash in the metal door where the paint scraped off. Then it all started to fall apart in the first week, and we realized that it was barely assembled. We had to get out the tools and tighten everything ourselves. The couches had loose stitches that came unraveled and look like junk now. We sent photos of these things along with a description and complaint to the manager and got absolutely no response.
As far as we are concerned, we have already overpaid for the service and products that we received. That doesn't change the fact that we owe them as agreed, and they will get their money. It just makes us angry that they so aggressively go after their money when their product was poor and we have already paid almost all of the balance. Next time we will go to a store that respects their customers instead of treating them like they are criminals. They are like the slumlord of furniture stores. I can't wait until they are paid in full so that I can just get them out of my life.
Ever since my Dad died in September I have been struggling due to funeral and travel costs and can't bring myself to talk to them. I am ashamed that any payment is late, and this is the latest we have ever been. I know I should not avoid them but I don't think they will care. They just want their money. Now. I just made another payment today, and hopefully that will get them to leave me alone for a couple days. Three more to go...

I recently moved from Colorado and wasn't able to bring my living room furniture. I was driving by Farmers Furniture and decided to stop. Paid over $1200 cash for a sectional and chair. The delivery took a week and the delivery guys brought my furniture in NOT wrapped, banging it against walls, dragging it across my hardwood floors. The legs on the couch are scratched, 2 small holes in the couch from the guy digging his nails trying to grip the couch.
Called and spoke with ** the store manager. He informed me he would refund my delivery fee and give me a set of lamps for free. When he came to my home I showed him the holes. He said, "I will also give you a area rug and we will call it even." I said, "Ok." Got to the store, ** gave me $59 for the delivery fee and it was $69. When I corrected him he slammed the $10 on the counter. Then told me he never said he would give me a set of lamps while yelling at me and wouldn't let me talk. He would yell over me when I tried to tell him what he said. I walked out the store with an area rug, $69 refund and the number to corporate. Very unprofessional and will not purchase from this store again. 6121 Fairburn Rd.

The experience of purchasing a love seat from this company is the worst I have ever had in buying furniture. 3 months ago we bought it and realized when delivered it did not have full padding on arms and the lid on the console did not fit... We couldn't get our glasses to stand up straight. Contacted store numerous times and finally, tired of the lies about ordering part and calling me, I filed complaint with the BBB. As of today, October 25, 2015, still no love seat replacement. NEVER purchase from this store or this company. They are not to be trusted... By the way, the manager of the store said she had no knowledge of the problem... What does that tell you? A manager who doesn't know what is happening in their store? Makes me wonder about the company in general.

So, we bought a couch from Farmers. It was on sale because it had some minor cosmetic damage. We asked the sales guy, sales lady, manager, and customer service exactly why it was on sale, was it a return? Was it previously purchased and returned? We were told, "No, it's on sale because it has cosmetic damage." Well, we pick the couch up on Sunday evening, get it home and put it in the living room. What do we see tonight? BEDBUGS! The "brand new" couch is infested with bedbugs! So we get to spend our Tuesday night (it's already 1 am) moving the heavy couch out, and washing everything in our house and trying to avoid an infestation in our home. You sold us this couch under false pretenses because unless your store is infested with bedbugs, and therefore all furniture you sell, THERE IS NO WAY THIS COUCH WAS BRAND NEW! We will be contacting you and corporate tomorrow.

We have been with Farmers Furniture (Rincon, GA) for over 10 years. Our whole house is filled with their furniture. Whenever we had something break, they came out immediately to fix it. We paid off our account, and we were at a zero balance when we went back in to purchase a bed suite. Service was great. Every month since then. I am NEVER over 30 days past due, but they have called me up to 10 times a month asking about my payment. They have called my work up to FIVE times in a row, and this last week, they called me ONCE, and then started calling the references of the people that I had on my application. When I called to talk to the Credit Manager, he was very rude with me telling me that if I paid on time, this wouldn't happen. Well, I was 11 days late... I told him that I would NEVER do business with them again. The way they treat their LONG standing customers are horrible.

So two days later I went back to the store & the same man was there and plus a woman that was already aware of what was going on & neither the same man or woman was eager to help me & acted really snobby & so the women said for the second time around that the same guy would call me about the bed again. The man didn't call, very unprofessional & knocking the store from making money from customers like me who's willing to spend that much in cash all at once. So I took my 1600 in cash, what I was gonna spend in their store, & spent it in another furniture store.

Anyways it took them over a month to fix one little board. They kept hounding me about a payment. I said when my bed is fixed I will make my payment. Well they wasn't happy, he said "if you don't make a payment we will garnish your check." Well I called today and asked if I could bring in a little each week to catch it up. That ** said no and so I told him to do what they had to do. He threatening me with court. Oh yeah this is HARTSELLE AL. These ppl don't care about customers. They care about money. He said they do not pick up merchandise and those delivery trucks they have are a waste of money cause we had to go get our riding lawn mower and a few other things. I purchased a complete bedroom set to include an additional dresser and night stand from the Washington North Carolina store the first of June 2015. The sales representative was very helpful and pleasant. The bedroom set was a high end purchase and I paid for all of the furniture in full, in cash. When the furniture was delivered to my home, I noticed that one of the dresser drawers had a stain flaw in the finish. I went to the store with the drawer to show them the issue. This is when my problems began.
First I was advised that NO ONE in the store except the store manager could address the issue. I was also told the manager is only in the store 3 days a week. I asked to have the manager call me. After several calls from me over a week’s period of time, I was finally able to speak with him. Once he was advised of the issue, he stated he would order another drawer for me and it would take about a week to come in. Two weeks later I had not heard from the manager.
I began the process all over again. Unless I call the store and make myself a pain in the backside, I do not hear from them. I have been told so many different stories about replacing the defective drawer I have lost count. I have been told the bedroom set I purchased was a discontinued model, which I was not told when I purchased it. I have been told they ordered the wrong replacement drawer, a completely different style and color. I have been told it's on back order and I have been told that the manufacturer will have to specially make a replacement drawer for my dresser.
It is now almost the end of July and I still do not have a complete dresser, I am still missing a drawer. I have not heard a word from the manager or the store in 2 weeks. I called today and was again told that the store manager is the only person that can assist me. No one else in the store admits to knowing anything about my special order, where my defective drawer is or when or if I will get a replacement drawer for the dresser I purchased.
I paid cash...in full...for quality furniture. I am so disappointed with the customer service at the Washington North Carolina store I can not even tell you. I had expected to purchase several pieces of living room furniture, another bedroom set and possibly furniture for my sunroom from Farmer's Furniture. NOT NOW. I would not spend another dime in this store, ever.

Been trying for over a month to have them give me a different couch to swap this one out. I don't want it. It's bad quality. Refuse to pay for something that's been damaged since I had it delivered. Manager keeps giving me a runaround. I'm beyond mad. I'm disabled. Just wanting a comfortable, well built and padded couch to be able to sit on. Went in our local Farmers Furniture store in AL and ordered a sectional. They told me it would be a week or two before it would arrive at my house. We agreed to pay monthly payments once it arrived starting the next month. When I got home we got to looking at our den and realized the sectional would probably be too big so we decided to call the very next day to cancel the order then order something else from them that would be a better fit.
No money had exchanged hands at this point and the furniture had not even been shipped much less delivered. When I called the guy the next morning he told me I couldn't cancel the order. When I asked why he said he had already ordered the sectional and when it arrived he wouldn't have room for it on his sales floor. I told him if it hasn't shipped yet you should be able to cancel the order. We had just been in the afternoon before. He said once orders were placed from their warehouse they couldn't be canceled.
This made no sense. Especially since he told me it would be 1-2 weeks before the order would even arrive. I asked to speak to a manager and he said he was the only manager there. He then went on to tell me that I would still owe them money even if I refused the order because we had agreed to finance it and that if I didn't want it I could sell it to someone else. Really?! At this point we really didn't know what to do.
My husband went ahead and decided to keep it because frankly this guy made it seem as if we had no other choice. It was too big for our den but we removed the corner piece to make it work. Instead of sending us a monthly bill the receptionist would call us each month to remind us that our payment was due the next day. Every month for a year I had to call and give my credit card over the phone to one of them to make a payment. It was ridiculous. The worst part is once the couch came it became quickly apparent it was uncomfortable and cheaply made. It had several recliners built in and in less than a year the cushions were flat and one of the recliners refused to close.
You could feel the wood beneath the cushion. It was the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I've ever owned. After we finally managed to pay it off we saved for another couch and the next year replaced it. We gave the sectional to a family member. As bad as it was it felt wrong asking any money for it. We just wanted it gone. We bought our new couch from a different local store and have sworn we will never deal with Farmer's again.
The customer service here is terrible. They make no effort to work with you to even try to make sure you're satisfied. We were threatened to be charged for something even if we refused it and they would not cancel an order even before it had been shipped. Had I waited a week to cancel or waited till the item had arrived I could've seen being in the wrong but I believe they refused to cancel the order because they didn't want to lose a sale. It didn't matter whether the customer was satisfied or not. What's bad is had they canceled the sectional we were going to order something else from them. Now they will never get our business or money again.

Received approval for credit, no down payment. Payment deferred until April, approval began in March. Pick out mattress in store, let me lay on it and the salesman told me I can get a bottle of special solution to clean mattress if stains or whatever gets on it, had a witness. Mattress set should have came on a Friday. They give you a paper telling you this. Didn't happen. I had to call and ask were they going to deliver. They lied and said it was suppose to be delivered on Sat. I said okay. Manager calls back and says, "We only have mattress and not box spring, will deliver mattress tomorrow and box spring probably Tuesday." I said "you can deliver them together," said okay.
Manager calls Sat morning and say, "We can deliver, we have another delivery in your town." I said, "I told you yesterday you can deliver at same time." Persisted to deliver that day, I said okay. Delivered on Sat, they called before time and told me time they would come. Came, asked delivery man where was the spray, he said, "We treat it in the store." I said, "That's not what you told me. I wouldn't have agreed to give you 49.95 if you told me this. Plus how do I know you sprayed it and why would you open a brand new mattress and spray it." Laid it down, and left.
Me and a friend sat on the bed and it immediately went straight in, spanked in. We sat on the other side to compare and it didn't do the same. I said "I'm calling them Monday, there's a defect." Called and someone said, "We don't change mattress." I said "for a defect." "No", he replied. Getting to point, by Wednesday called back, said "It's a defect, I need another mattress or I don't want the account." Manager was busy with customer, the CMT said and "will call you back." Didn't happen, but he did get her to call back to let me know he has to come to my house to check the mattress himself.
In all the years I've lived, never heard of a manager coming to your house to see merchandise and he will decide. I said ok, he will see. Let him come and see the defect and he needs to bring their truck once he see it so he can get his property, by the way, never got box springs. Never heard a manager, person in the office coming to your house to check out furniture, crazy. Don't want their business.

Farmers attorney said the balance was now $1790 because of Farmers' legal fees. Tried to get them to accept $1325 cash money - was told all of the $1790 or nothing. After me and my family asked to have it traded out for product that was actually worth 1500+ dollars, we were refused, and they sent a guy out to fix them. He was given the wrong parts and could only do minor repairs, we never received any further repairs and we're refused when we asked.
After all of we refused payment as the loveseats and CLIQ clack, we're too DANGEROUS to sit on as both me and my sister were poked by spring in the CLIQ clack and it finally fell almost completely apart and the denied that it was even under warranty. 4 months we had it in the living room and it had year warranty (we are not very big or heavy people), we were taken to court for litigation. And the judge ruled that we could trade the pieces of decrepit garbage and inferior craftsmanship for items of equal or lesser value.
Now that we have found the pieces we want, and we're informed that it would be shipped today, we called and they said we were the 3rd delivery. Mind you we live not 2 blocks from the store, not only were they late, but they never showed nor did we receive any call informing us of a delay or a later scheduled date for a delivery. Upon going up to the store we discovered that the truck was sitting outside locked up and another customer had received similar dissatisfaction. Me nor my family will ever shop here again. Some of the stuff that I bought from them was delivered on the promised date....the rest was not. In fact, they forgot to reorder the items that they said were damaged. I would have never received them had I not called to question why I hadn't gotten them yet. Also, if you buy from them on credit, be VERY careful and read ALL of the fine print on your contract. Disregard what you are verbally told by the salesperson who goes over the contract with you. Just read ALL of the contract... like twice. I ended up paying double what I thought that I owed and way more than my credit limit was somehow and even paid for insurance on the furniture that I was told I needed since I was buying on credit. But after reading the contract (days after I had signed it), I saw that it was all optional....$850 worth of crap I didn't need. But hey, I signed the contract so I was basically up the creek. December 8, 2014 around 2:15 p.m. the store owner and franchisee called my work office asking what we are going to do about this issue. I expressed to the store owner and franchisee that as far as I am concerned I have paid the balance of this sale and I should not have to incur the expense of the sales representative's mistakes. Not being able to completely express this to the store owner and franchisee, he began ranting about how I will be responsible for the $100 and the next payment was due on December 1, 2014 and if it is not paid by December 11, 2014 a late fee of $25 would be added.
I tried expressing to the store owner and franchisee that I spoke with authorities and the Judge in the magistrate court of Waynesboro; that I should not be talking to him and for him not to call my job, home or cell phone anymore and to report if he did. The store owner and franchisee went on in a threatening loud boisterous tone how I do not want to get caught up in litigations and embarrassing myself in court. I then hung up the phone. So they did put me on the do not call list. So I went in today and made my payment early and I asked about my credit limit and was told that I am so over my credit limit and that I would not be able to purchase anything on credit at all right now. I said "Well that's funny cause I went over to Badcock and got a $5000 credit limit and had to buy my son's bed at Badcock because of the so called Farmers policy!!" At the beginning they were so nice to me and allowed me to open an account and Margaret told me that it would be better for me to make my payments for the length instead of paying it off early!! Since then I have talked down to and would not recommend anyone to shop there. The other salesperson confirmed to us that the extended warranty would be added to his monthly bill and not part of his finance. They were also having 12 months interest free. When the paperwork was completed they were not going to give him the 12 months interest free which was posted throughout the entire store but they did go ahead and honor that. After all paperwork was complete and he had made his down payment we were told we would not have the extended warranty since we bought the floor model and it was sold as is.
They contacted the sales manager who said he did not say that and the other salesperson said she did say that but not when we were taking the floor model. After speaking with the finance person she also said since we were buying a floor model we did not even get the manufacturer warranty. We cancelled the entire transaction since we were lied to on multiple occasions. As we were leaving the lady salesperson said we would have gotten the manufacturer warranty which according to the finance department that was incorrect. With all that said, please use extreme caution if purchasing from this company. If all the salespeople do not know the rules or if they do then they are just saying whatever they can to get you to buy. We will never purchase anything from Farmer's.

I bought a bed with two lamp dressers, a large dresser, a dresser with large morrow, a bookcase, a China cabinet which lights up/glass morrow backing. I lost my job about three months after buying the furniture. The salesman was very warm and friendly when I purchased the furniture. I asked them to come and get the furniture and they would not. The decoration on the headboard started to coming a loose. When I moved the back of the bookcase just tore--its colored like the wood and nothing more than cardboard. The HEAVY HEADBOARD HAS ATTACHMENT THAT WAS HELD TOGETHER BY CORRUGATED CARDBOARD! The weight of it had worn through and was broken and could not be repaired. Stripped completely out.
My moving SAVED MY LIFE! IF that board had fell on me while I slept I may not have woke up forever. In addition the China cabinet's backing was stapled in the back. The back was made of glass and it came apart while the movers were moving it off the truck. It could have cut them to death. The drawers to my large dresser started to coming apart. Held together only by glue. The large dresser's mirror is leaning due to the corrugated paper not able to hold the weight of the morrow. The drawer handles came apart when I first bought them and they continue to. I don't see how this could not be criminal to sell such poor quality merchandise to customers.

We purchased a big couch. It's a sectional with 4 recliners. This couch is nowhere near worth the 2000 dollars we are paying for it. All 4 recliners were broken within 6 months of the purchase. Called farmers to get them fixed since it was still under warranty but they have only fixed one. I absolutely HATE this couch. It's really annoying paying a lot of money for something that's not worth the money you are paying for it. I mean with 2000 dollars I could have a better couch that won't need fixing every 2-4 months.
But, if they don't want to let me out of the agreement I will just keep bugging them about fixing my couch. They will be so tired of having me call them about my broken couch they will see what it feels like to have to deal with this a gritting couch. I wish I knew the item number to give it to everyone so that they know to never purchase this couch because it will be just a waste of your money and time.

My husband and I bought a new couch that had recliners in it and a table and chairs. When they brought my table in, they hit the side of the truck and chipped the side of it. So the manager said that she would get us another one and she did. She got fired so we no longer have her to back up on what happened after we had our furniture for a couple of months. We thought the couch was ok until we sat in the recliners and after a couple of months the middle part of the couch stuck up past the recliners and when you sat down in the recliners you sat on the board. The guy that fixes the furniture finally came out and said they had to take it back so we went and picked out a different one. The springs popped loose and ruined our newly stained floors which are scratch up now.
The guy finally came out and fixed the springs but we have been waiting for them to fill the couch because it is sagging now. We have paid everything off and my table now cannot take any food dropped on it or it stains it. My couch is still not fixed and we first opened our account 1 year ago. These people do not want to talk to me at all because they know that I am very upset because I have now had two couches from them and cannot use our couch. I would like for them to come out and fix it without their excuses or I would like for my money to be returned so I can shop somewhere else for a couch. By the way, they call me on my phone wanting my husband to come in and buy their stuff that on sale. They can forget it and for their rating from 1-10, their rating is a -10 being the worst that anyone could get from this place. They need to back up their stuff or go out of business.

First off, this isn't even new but it's supposed to be. My husband and I went in on a Saturday afternoon made our TV payment and was looking at beds. My husband picked a sleigh bed frame and I picked a really nice Sealy gel cool mattress. When it was delivered finally after two weeks the frame was scattered throughout the truck and not in a box. The driver said he didn't know why they (the store) took it out of the box. The first piece brought inside was broke; we called the Hartwell, GA store manager. He said he would order a new one after we told him it had been glued back together before it ever reached my house so it was broke at the store because they even tried covering it with a wood marker.
After the rest of the frame was brought in I notice a bunch of dents and scratches on the drawers, told the drivers and the boy said they had a wood marker on the truck, so convenient it was just the color of my furniture! So he colored in the scratches, omg! I told both guys that I wasn't happy at all. After they left I wanted to look at the papers when I realized that me or my husband did not get the first paper on this. I called the Hartwell manager **. He stated that they don't give paperwork which I know that's not true. I've received paperwork on my other items bought from there, inked about my warranty papers and he said that they know when I bought it and they kept them for their records. I told him I needed some for my records, he said he would mail a copy of the contract.
When we started putting it together, yea I said we had to put it together without instructions. We noticed how beat up this bed frame was so I started taking pictures and my husband got on the phone and called **. That's when we asked if we could send him photos to his phone and he said oh this was just a loaner bed because he sold our bed when it came in and didn't have another one for another two weeks. That ours was being ordered again then after we got it put together we tooled the taped up plastic off the mattresses; ** these aren't the $1600.00 set that I picked out. This mattress tags had been half removed not the same Sealy that I chose, the box springs was torn along the bottom halfway up. Very dirty! The top mattress was a little better, had water marks on it and was a coil mattress not memory foam. When put on the frame both box spring and mattress I would have had to be 7 foot tall just to get up on it. So took the bottom box off made it shorter, then noticed the frame is too big for this mattress by 2 1/2-3 inches on the sides. All this before I even get to sleep on it. What did we get ourselves into with this guy **.

They call several times a day when late.... illegal. The collection drivers also send text. Illegal. This company also has a very ignorant way to report you to credit agency. Only your late payments are reported. Period. If you pay on time you are never reported to the 3 credit agencies. If you pay late, you get reported and then it shows you 90 days or more when you aren't. Also... our 1st payment wasn't due until May 2013, but they reported late payments since April. This company should be under review by the Attorney General's Office for fraudulent financing practices and credit reporting inaccuracy. I became a Farmers customer in 2010. After that I needed surgery & became disabled. I paid cash for some things and financed others. I've been back in hospitals, through rehab and had to continue to my monthly payments (okay I did have their things) even though I had insurance to cover my payments. 2 years ago, I purchased a lawnmower and right away after getting it home, I called and said something's wrong with this. It’s either the housing or the motor not mounted right. Manager said it was me, because 6 months prior I had a knee replacement but he will send someone out. No one ever came. For over a year, when I went in to make a payment I would remind him about the mower.
Finally after 1 year and some months, he told to take it to be repaired. They will pay. It was not my job to do that but hey, I wanted to use my mower I'd been paying for a whole year and never used. They called the guy to let him know I was coming & the guy told me before he took it out of my car that Farmers will not be paying. They left my mower there for a year. Now I been making payments for 2 years on something I can't use. Finally this May/June, 2013, the credit manager told me they have my mower but can't bring it to my house because of the rainy season & I couldn't cut anymore. But they still knock on my door for their $$$.
I just got out of rehab (2 1/2 months) and found out that Farmers have been coming to my house, even left a card in my mailbox. But guess what? They didn't leave the lawnmower. They sent texts saying they want their money or their merchandise. Well they can have it minus the cost of the lawnmower. I am finished, done with them and I will never recommend them to anyone. I am calling corporate to officially complain. We only have 2 furniture stores. But for me now, there's only 1 and it is not Farmers Furniture. I added an air conditioner last year and had to call them months later to have it repaired. The compressor was no good. My dining room chair began falling apart after the first year. An electric heater purchased shorted out after a few uses. I don't know what's wrong with their merchandise but the old Farmers used to stand by their customers. Today, they don't.

This is in LATE FEES. They charged me late fees every month because the insurance company did not pay until the end of the month. Like I could control when the payment would be owed!!!! I was told by the supervisor at Life of the South that Farmers waives these fees because of the fact the payment comes in late. Well they haven't waived mine. He has threatened me and said he would come get all of my furniture.
I talked to the home office in Dublin and they told me they were a non-repo company. But that each store could do so if they chose. It looks like to me that now that John has 3169.00 of money paid by the insurance co. that he wants to repo my furniture so he can resell it to make more money. This amount does not include the money I paid before I became disabled. And he knows I am still disabled!!!!! On July 10, 2013, the Assistant Store Mgr. Randy was rude and unprofessional to my family. About two weeks ago, we went into Farmer's in reference to an extended warranty regarding our washer machine. We purchased this plan on August 2, 2010 for three years. Randy was very lackadaisical in scheduling the service call. We made numerous calls to the store regarding the request. Finally, Bowen was dispatched to our home for an evaluation.
It was determined that the front load washer machine was not in working condition. The motor or bearings was gone. It would have cost too much for the unit repair. The warranty company decided to replace the unit. During the same service call, the technician was notified about an issue with my dryer. He stated that he wanted to get the washer taken care of then he would have to come back for the dryer and that it should be covered under the warranty.
After two weeks passed, Randy never called in reference to the replacement issue. We went to the store and were informed that the unit was no longer available in black. We also asked that the service provider be sent back out to assess the dryer issue. Randy assured us the he would order the replacement washer machine and call Bowen for the dryer. He did order the washer, however, we called Farmer’s and Bowen to find out that the service order was placed. A message was left for him on July 8, 2013 to return our call. Randy never called. We called back and he stated that he faxed the request and they must not have received it.
An appointment was scheduled for July 10, 2013 @ 4:00 P.M. Only now it wasn't Bowen, but a different provider. He wasn't at the unit long, he stated the unit had good air flow and he would check with the warranty company and Farmer's would give us a call tomorrow. I contacted Randy to advise him of the situation, he stated he could not speak with me because the account was in my husband's name. We called him back on three way when I began talking, he hung up in my face, not once, but twice.
This account was effective for more than ten years. Farmer's has now lost valued customers due to his ignorance and lack of professionalism. I pay this account from my checking every month and this is how they take care of customers. As long as Randy is an Assistant Mgr. with Farmer's, their business will decline. I contacted Farmer's Corporate Office with this complaint as well. I feel we are being discriminated against. That's not fair!

My daughter was sitting on the love seat and said, "Mama, something isn't right." She only weighs 120 lbs or less. My older daughter came home, and I had them to flip the love seat over and the legs were bent and one of them fell off in my daughter's hand. So I had them to check the sofa. The same thing was happening to it.
I called Farmer's Furniture and explained to the clerk what was going on. She stated, "Well, if broken, we will replace it with a new one." But Michael, the manager, was on vacation and he would be back on Monday. She said she would send one of the delivery guys to check it out. Pete, one of the delivery guys, came out with a drill to try and fix it. I told him what was going on and that I wanted another seat because I didn't feel safe sitting on this set.
Well, I called the store again on Tuesday and spoke to Michael, and he said he would be out to my house. He came with another assistant and said it was broken. He would try and look for another set, because the one I had was discontinued. I told him that I had to resew the cushions, and he said he would make it right with me. He called back to say he couldn't locate a set and that they would have to fix it. I told him it was a brand-new set. He stated the warranty only covers repairs. A different story from the first one.
The guys came out on Tuesday, April 3, to get the sofa and left the pillows. I called them back, and they said they were only told to pick the love seat, not the pillow, up. They stated they would be back on Wednesday to get the pillows. I called back on Wednesday and asked to speak to Michael. The receptionist Christian put me on hold for 2 seconds. She came back to say he had left and that he only came to see the delivery truck at 8:42am.
I asked her about the pillows, and she spoke to the guys to say they said it would be Saturday before they could come get the pillows. I asked her that since I have a defected set, I would like to return it, and she stated this was not Arron leasing and that they don't take stuff back. Also, she said that I got the set in August and the 30 days was up. "We didn't make the set, we only sell it." I told her it was an FF product, and she stated that it's not their fault what happened. I purchased close to $6,000.00 worth of furniture with Farmer's Furniture in Sept. 2010. While making purchase selections, the salesmen explained that I could purchase coverage for my TV. That covered if TV was damaged in any way, shape or form. I specifically inquired and confirmed if in fact the coverage was for anything, even if moving and TV damaged and he said yes. The salesmen also said I could purchase the same coverage for all my furniture and again I inquired if anything happened it would be covered, cases of damage while moving, kids playing, etc. And again he said yes!
It is now 3-5-2012 and for the past 4 weeks, I have been going back and forth with the store manager, Mr. John ** about replacing a part of a bench and also a damaged dresser's front end piece that was broken. Initially, Mr. ** confirmed the part for the bench would be shipped to South Carolina store in the city of Moncks corner because we moved to South Carolina from Georgia on 1-27-2012. Mr. ** then said that he spoke with vendor about the dresser and that he was told it was interchangeable. I explained to him there was no way it was interchangeable at all. Mr. ** then told me to send a photo of dresser to his employee by the name of Stephanie and I complied.
I called Mr. ** to confirm receipt of picture via cell phone and he said he’d call vendor once again and call me back with an update. I also explained to Mr. ** that my recent purchase of 1-17-2012 of an ottoman also needed repair because after taking off the thick piece of plastic, in which it was in there were two sides where the seams, were unstitched. Mr. ** said he knows of a business that could take care of the problem since it fell under the manufacture warranty and he would get back in touch to confirm details of how it would be repaired.
I never heard back from Mr. **. On another Saturday, specifically 3-3-12, I called Mr. ** and I left a message for him to call me back with his employee by the name of Stephanie. I never heard back from Mr. **, instead Stephanie called and asked me why I was calling. I told Stephanie that I preferred to speak with Mr. ** since he did know why I was calling and I ask to speak with him instead of involving a third party. Stephanie said she understood and continued to explain that he has been busy and that they had a couple of power outages due to weather. Again, I never heard back from Mr. ** the entire day of 3-3-12.
Today 3-5-12 (Monday), I called Mr. ** and he now tells me that the dresser will not be covered under my service plan according to his warehouse employee by the name of Joe. I expressed to Mr. ** how dissatisfied I was with the communication regarding this matter thus far and also asked him for the names of the individual he claimed to have spoken with at the vendor regarding the dresser. His response was that he could not remember. He can’t remember everything. He speaks to many individuals and had delegated Stephanie to do some of the calling about the dresser being repaired.
Once I obtained the 800# to the service plan business, which is a glass company, again I spoke with Tammy who then transferred me to Christie ** who said she needed to obtain my account number directly from Farmer's store and then call me back to assist me in this matter. Ms. Christie ** was very rude, she’d cut me off and very quick to show she wanted to be in charge, especially after I told her I was going to call corporate. I told her that in calling corporate it had to do with the store manager, Mr. ** and she said she’d prefer to handle the situation before I called corporate and I told her ok.
Ms. ** called me back to explain the furniture was not covered for damage and continued to explain that the plan was for manufacture defects up to 2yrs. I asked Ms. ** why would I purchase a plan to cover defects if I know the furniture automatically comes with its own warranty and she said the plan was for 2 yrs. I continued to explain to Ms. ** that I purchased two separate plans, one for furniture and one for TV. In case they were damaged in any way shape or form, according to what I was told by the salesman at Farmers Furniture. Ms. ** again was rude and continued to cut me off and I asked why she would not let me finish speaking. She said to hold on and she would put me on speaker so she could hear me and continue doing other things that needed to get done. Wow! These are the type of individuals employed by Farmers Furniture. I told Ms. **, “Thank you for your time but I will call my attorney and see how we could resolve this matter,” and hung up the line. Ms. ** then called me again and continued talking and again I told her I would call my attorney and hung up the line. Mr. ** also confirmed that if the regional manager, Mr. Marty ** called him to tell him it was okay to order the dresser, he would but that according to his warehouse employee, Joe, the dresser was not covered by the service plan. Again, wow!
These individuals are not only unprofessional, they are rude, lack character and morals because Mr. ** was quick to recant anything he has told me in the past couple of weeks and Ms. ** is too busy to listen to full details involving the service plan purchased as it was explained to me as the customer back in 9-2010. Never, never again will I purchase any one item and I will seek advice from my attorney who handles all other personal matters involving my own business. This situation should not be tolerated by any one person and I expect to tell as many people as possible about my personal experience with Farmers Furniture and its employees. If I can sue Farmers Furniture and get my money back from them, I will do so!

Last year, I had to move and leave my house in South Carolina behind because my health was really bad and needed to move near my children who are adults now in fears of dying and needing family near me. I went on disability and have struggled to make payments on a refrigerator left in SC. First, she overdrew my bank account with unapproved billing. Then she threatened me with lean over, heard by my family on speaker.
I got a lawyer and said they can't do this when on disability in our state. We sent letter certified to cease and desist communications with me. They refused letter so my lawyer said, “Let’s go after Stacy for threat by collections not followed through by her and sue for $25,000 individually on Stacy according to fair debt collection act.” So this is my action. I had account with them 10 years and always was on time. This is how they treat customers who are disabled sick and could be dying. Stacy from Anderson, SC should be ashamed and may learn to use practices for collection procedures properly. Good luck Stacy, may own your furniture honey.

This was 2 weeks ago and the salesman was Tommie **. Yesterday, I spoke with Mr. Tommy and asked if he got it ordered. He replied that no he didn't and he would have to speak to his manager, Andrea. I called 3 times after that to speak with Andrea myself and was told on all three occasions that either she wasn't in or wasn't available. My husband then called and asked to speak to her that it was an emergency, which I admit he shouldn't have done, but when she got on the phone she started screaming at him and was so totally rude we will never go back in that store again.
We found one at your store in Rome, GA, spoke with Michelle who was very helpful, even apologizing for the treatment we got in our own hometown. The only reason I am going to drive 25 miles instead of the one mile it would have taken me in Summerville is that my mother is 87 years old and has wanted a red recliner for years and I plan to buy her one before she passes on. Andrea needs to be reckoned with in some way by someone higher than she is. She will ruin your business in this small town.

I had purchased a storage bed, less than a year ago, and it has fallen apart twice. They fixed it the first time with no question. Now the second time has been a complete nightmare. I called and talked to the store manager and she got the part ordered and forgot to call me weeks later.
My schedule is very hectic and nearly impossible for me to get this fixed again. I had an appointment at 8 am for the guys to come out and fix it, they never showed up so I called the store, talk with the manager and she said she never told me that they would be out at 8 am. I explained to her my crazy schedule and she hung up on me. I called and made another appointment for weeks later for 10 am.
I was waiting on the man to show up and fix it. I called the store around 10:50 am and talked to the man and he was very rude and hateful to me, I tried to explain to him how important it was to me for him to keep his appointment. He also hung up on me. I have refused to make my payment due to the rudeness and no functioning bed. I talked to the store manager today and demanded a total new bed and made my payment. She charged me the payment by phone fee and a late fee. Why should I have been charged this when the product is a piece of junk? I would certainly say to everyone to stay away from this company!

I opened an account with Farmer's several years ago and took very good care of my account. In August of 2010, my husband was arrested and left me with no money to pay any bills because I am a full-time nursing student with no job. Almost immediately, they began calling to harass me, threatening to sue me and even to take my income taxes from me. I spoke with several people trying to work something out and I began trying to catch up on the payments. I thought that matters were being resolved until I received a letter saying that legal actions were filed.
I called the store to try and figure out what the problem was. I was directed to Alexia who actually threatened me and told me to come to the store so she could beat my **! She then went on to tell me what a horrible mother I must be because I am in college and not working! The store continues to call my mother, father, and mother-in-law to harass them about me.
Everytime I speak with someone at Farmer's, I am left in tears. They actually sent someone to my house once. He didn't just beat on the door, he was kicking my house, beating my windows and screaming that he knew I was in there. To be quite honest, I was scared to death to open that door at home alone with no one to help me defend myself against this hysterical man!
And if all that isn't bad enough, everything that I have from Farmer's is damaged. The wood has actually came through the bottom of the couches, the lawn mower doesn't work, and the bunk beds for my children will fall over if they get on the top bunk. I would never recommend Farmer's to anyone. The furniture only last a few months at best, and they will harass you to the point that you're in tears!
I would like to add that I am now a senior who will graduate this semester. I fully intend to catch up with my account again, but at this point, I don't really feel like I should because of all the illegal harassment I have had to endure! Oh, and they continue to call me and invite me to sales that they are having on the weekends! Are they just trying to set me up for failure?

My boyfriend and I purchased an overpriced bedroom suit. This was financed as a joint account since we live together and split all the bills. This appeared to be a nice suit that would last a while. We purchased it in March 2009 and added any and all insurance offered. In February 2010, a handle broke of the Chest so we let Farmer's know when we made our payment.
Three months later, we had to inquire about it again when we made our payment. We were told that the bedroom suit is no longer being carried by Farmer's and they could not replace the handle. I asked about the insurance we purchased and was told that it was a waste of money since it didn't cover much. When we made our June payment, I asked the lady again about this handle and was told that she would see if she could find a replacement from another store and never heard back from them. We decided to start delaying out payments until they could fix our issue. All payments should be made by the 10th of each month to avoid a late fee.
In October, the collectors started calling my boyfriend saying on the fifth. Remember, this is a joint account and they should have tried to contact me next. They started calling our references. I never once received a phone call from them about the October payment. My boyfriend called the store manager, made the payment and told him all the issues we've had with them: quality of product and not contacting me, harassment starting on the 5th, etc. He assured my boyfriend that he would get us replacement handles and deal with his office staff and contact him back. That was over a month ago and we haven't heard from him since. Although, the office ladies started calling my on que, the 5th of November.
I feel we paid $3,000 for crap and the only reason we're still paying is the damage it would do to our credit which is not worth it. I feel Farmer's Finances does not stand behind their products or warranties.

Someone needs to explain to Virginia that there will not always be someone there to clean up her poop nor will there be some naïve manager at a furniture store who will let you get away with murder. Thing is, I still owe about $146.00 (and my account is and has always been current) on my account for this broken, non-warrantied Coby DVD Player. Question is do I pay my balance off like a good person would, take it to small claims court to fight the balance due, or take it back to the store and give it back, for-which I will be sued for the balance. If you have any ideas, let me know. Should I have to pay for an item that didn't last as long as the length of the finance contract.

My wife and I have had some horrible experiences with the collection department of Farmers Furniture. We ran into financial difficulties in late March 2010 due to my wife's husband losing his job. Thus he was unable to pay all of his child support regularly for 3 month's. My wife also underwent major back surgery on April 22, 2010.
We ran behind on many bills and we are still in the process of catching up. Every creditor has been wonderful in helping us to set up payments to catch up. Farmers Furniture, on the other hand, was a nightmare! The Farmers Furniture account is in my name only. Georgia law is not a community property state; therefore they were not allowed to discuss this account with my wife without my express consent. However, that did not stop them from harassing her and upsetting her while she was recovering from her back surgery.
She told them multiple times that she was in no condition to have them speak with her. They continued to call my wife. Our account with them in April 2010 was only 28 days late. I received a call telling me that if I did not pay before the account went 31 days late, my account would be sent to their legal department and I would be sued. I was blown away to say the least. I sold what I could and went to pay the payment.
They continued to harass my wife and threaten her with my account being sent to the legal department where I would be sued. She was beside herself. She was having to deal with getting back to walking and other things from her back surgery. Every day was a struggle for her. She still cries over the pain she has 4 months out of surgery.
The harassment and threats she continued to receive from the local Farmers furniture prompted her to call the main office to speak with the legal department. She told the woman who answered the issue we were having. She promised to have someone call my wife back. The regional manager (or we believe that is what he is) called my wife back. They spoke and she told him about all the incidents.
My wife has a paralegal background and knew that the local Farmers Furniture had broken many of The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. She relayed all the laws that had been broken to the regional manager. He promised to contact the store and tell them they were not to ever speak with my wife again nor call her cellular phone.
We are very upset by this. My wife suffers from bi-polar and the events that took place with Farmers Furniture made her very depressed. She even had to have her anti-depressant changed over the incident with Farmers Furniture.
We are wondering if anyone else has been threatened by Farmers Furniture or has their information regarding their delinquent account (which ours has never been over 45 days late while trying to catch up) been told to other people, which is illegal under the law stated above.
