I purchased a pedestal dining table in 4/22. Tabletop splintered and was replaced in 11/22. New tabletop has a crack on a seam. One year warranty. Poor quality. I will Never shop at Bassett Furniture again.

I purchased a dining room table with 2 leaves in Sep 2024 and delivery took place the end of Nov. When I received notice that it had come in, I got rid of my old table. When it was delivered, before it was unwrapped I was told that this might not be what I ordered. The leaves and table legs were maple but the tabletop was grey. I verified it was not correct. They called their supervisor who apparently stated I could keep this one until the correct one came in. I agreed since I had already planned dinner parties during the holidays. I tried getting hold of my salesman but he either wasn't in or unavailable and would not return my calls.
Since Feb 2024 I have talked with the service dept and have been told it's been ordered but the 1st table only took a little over 2 months and it has now been 4+ months. I called the manager and left a message a month ago and had no response. They clearly did not order it and since they have their money and I have a table, even though it is not the one I ordered, they are done with me. I would never order anything from this store again and would not recommend anyone else purchase from them.

Great experience with Basset San Jose, Ca. Delivered early and carefully. Great communication with store and delivery team. Got the "True Custom wide slope arm sofas" with spring-down seat cushions. Got pattern 1495 revolution fabric as it has a "Heavy Duty" abrasion rating, in addition to the extra protective coating as we really want it to last. So happy with our choices. Sofas are so comfortable and supportive and a good height to get up from. We compared to Arhuas, Pottery Barn and RH hardware; Basset was by far the best option in terms of price, quality and comfort. Very well built and I expect them to last at least the next 20 years.

The weekend of Thanksgiving 2024 we purchased $25,000 worth of furniture with an estimated delivery of 6-8 weeks. We were in the process of moving from SoCal to Bend, OR and the estimated delivery date coincided with our move in date. We were led to believe that our furniture would be coming out of their Portland store, which proved to be a falsehood. Apparently the furniture at one point was trucked from Texas to Irvine where it sat for almost three weeks before being picked up for delivery. After placing another call today to find out where our furniture was I was informed it is on its way to Tacoma, WA where it will then be shipped to Bend. Mind you Tacoma is 30 miles south of Seattle and hundreds of miles away from Bend. I was told it should arrive there later this week.
So for some reason it’s going to take almost ten days to travel the approximate 1100 miles from Irvine to Tacoma. The problem with all of this is that we gave away almost all of our furniture thinking we’d have our new furniture shortly after moving in. So for the past month we’ve been without any dressers, bed frames or living room sofa. In my opinion the salesperson made the error of accepting our order for delivery somewhere out of their normal delivery area. However, a company as big as Bassett should have simply used this as a training moment and did everything possible to get our furniture to us as expeditiously as possible. Just making everyone aware of what emphasis Bassett places on customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience with Bassett Furniture in Las Vegas. Bart ** the store manager is the rudest and most belligerent person I ever dealt with. I ordered a sofa and an ottoman a few months ago. After waiting 2 months for furniture to arrive, I was astonished to see how my 6K sofa and ottoman look so cheaply made. The tailoring (cutting and stitching) of the cushions were poorly done that prevent them to align neatly. Bassett technicians stopped by to see if they can fix the problem and they determined that one of the cushions are not fixable at all, so they ordered another cover.
When the cover arrived weeks later, it was damaged and dirty. The Bassett technicians who were extremely polite and professional came back and steamed the cushions, clean the new cover and fix the others.That only got rid of some wrinkles and did not really address the main problem which was the bad cuts and stitching and the dirt on the new one. When I reached out to Bart ** the store manager this morning, he totally dismissed me and told me that there is nothing he can do and "I have been nasty" and hung up the phone. WOW!!!! It is unfortunate that Bassett Furniture has employing such an unprofessional individual.

Purchased a $6,000 reclining sofa in June 2024 at the Bassett store in Brick NJ. I I am a guy who never uses any thing but everyday mild soap to wash my very short hair. After reclining on a 4 month old sofa ONLY once the very first time in October 2024 a stain appeared. I think it is a defective fabric and have been given the runaround for months including from the fabric protection company for the plan I bought as well.. They tried to clean it 2 times. Not sure how professional they were as it was performed by a subcontractor. All they offered was to redo a fully attached back cushion with a non-matching fabric cover. I bet they discontinued that exact fabric. Can you believe that I should have a patchwork sofa which is UNACCEPTABLE. They want me to accept a mismatched large cushion right along side two original large back cushions of a $6,000 new sofa, I have purchased about 6 reclining sofas less expensive in the past and NEVER had an issue.
Bassett store only offers excuses about fabric and the chemicals in your body and even medications. Nope not buying their excuses. Either the Fabric is defective or they used an inferior fabric product. Now I am told after the fact they do not use any fabric protection. I wish I had read the reviews about the poor quality of their products before buying. Bassett- It's time to replace my sofa.

I strongly recommend not to buy anything from Basset Furniture. We bought an L-shaped sectional sofa online for $2,219. A white glove delivery for $149, the delivery cost $160.20 and then we paid for the Guardian Protection Plan $299. The invoice says that if we have any problems to contact our local store which is located at 1602 West Marlon Pike Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08034. And this is when our problem started. We had an accident on one of the sofas and also the cat scratched two corners. We started the process with the plan they told us that is called GUARDSMAN and after four or five months, they told us that we are not insured with them.
We called the shop and they told us that as it was bought online. The insurance company is called GUARDIAN and they can't do anything. We started the process again and after another two to four months first of all they told us that the cat damage was not covered and after another two months they told us that we were not covered by them, even though we have the invoice to prove it. We called the shop, they told us that they couldn't help us, to call the Bassett headquarters. We did so and the customer representative told us that it was the store the one to help us and had to attend to us since we had bought the furniture before the online process had been updated. She told us that she was going to speak to the store supervisor and that if in two days we had not heard anything from them that we should please send her an email. We did this almost two weeks ago and we haven't heard anything. In short, they are giving us the runaround.
It is completely unacceptable. Furthermore certain people in the shop seemed to be annoyed that we called them so many times. It is of course a total disgrace the way we have been treated and now we have a piece of furniture that we paid almost 3,000 dollars for with scratches and a stain for which we had paid for insurance in case something happened. Finally, I recommend that you do not buy anything else from this establishment because the customer service is terrible. While you are paying, everything is perfect. Once you pay, they forget about you as if you were a zero.

They told us one of the items we purchased was imported, and they had 4 of 5 pieces at their warehouse where we could pick it up. Was having surgery, and needed the couch for recovery. Still no couch, they change their story daily and now the item is no longer imported (because the cancel word came up). Now it's custom made and can't be cancelled. This company used to have a good reputation, now they are just liars who will promise anything for a sale, and then say the most obvious of lies to avoid doing what they promise. Stay away, WISH I HAD!!!

I strongly advise against purchasing anything from Bassett Furniture. My experience has been nothing but a nightmare! After two years of dealing with poorly manufactured furniture, including mismatched leather colors and extremely wrinkled upholstery, I still haven’t been refunded for their subpar products. Now, they’re offering to refund me only after they pick up the defective furniture, leaving me with nothing in my two living rooms. This is completely unacceptable. They clearly don’t value their customers, only their profits. For the amount of money I paid, I expected quality, but instead, I received a disaster. Save yourself the frustration—look elsewhere for your furniture needs! Bassett Furniture does not deserve your business.

Hello, This is the first review I have ever written. I had some time off from work so I thought it was important that I let others know about the horrible experience I have ever had with a salesperson. I called into the King Of Prussia location when I have recently purchased a carpet and asked to speak with Jim. I was told he was on the other line and that he would call me back. I did not hear back from Jim so I reached out again & was able to him. I started with, "Hello Jim. Remember me, Rose," and I went on to let him know that the area carpet I purchased a few weeks back was not a good fit for my family room. He responded, "You'll have to talk with my manager. I don't have time for this." I could not believe what I heard so I ask him "what did you say?" He responded, "You heard me. I don't have time for this as that carpet was on sale."
I ask if he was joking and he yelled as if he wanted someone's attention in the store saying, "I am not going to take you treating me this way and then he hung up the phone on me. I was so shocked. I am in the service industry and I would never think to talk to a client / customer that way. I called back. He answered the phone and I said, "Jim, I would like to talk with someone else," He then again yelled, "She's harassing me again." I cannot believe this person has a job. I called back and spoke to a women in their New Jersey store and let her know how awful I was treated, She assured me she would contact the manager Steve and make sure gives me. Well that never happened. Mind you I just moved into a brand new home and need a lot of furniture but for sure will never step foot in another Basset store.

Purchased a wood dining table several months ago. When it was delivered, it was damaged. Delivery crew took pictures and submitted to company. A second crew delivered more furniture and took more pictures of the damage. Months later, no one has called. Most recently we purchased a $3500 rug. Before it was delivered, price was reduced $400. Retailer refused to give us the reduced price of $3002.

Absolutely awful. We purchased the Ellery rolled arm sectional about 6 years ago, and paid extra for high-end "upgraded" cushions. Instead, we received very soft, yucky, cushions that last for about 2 days before having to be rotated/fluffed. I am SO disappointed in this sofa. It was quite expensive with the upgrades, and I cannot afford to purchase a new sofa right now, so living with it. But I will never purchase from this company ever again...

This was our first time purchasing a Bassett recliner/glider and will be our last. After less than two years, the chair's internal parts seem to be falling apart! It makes horrible noises every time anyone sits in it or tries to glide. The chair was $2,000 plus and should last longer. The leather upholstery has held up well...still looks new!

Needed a single chair to go in a guest bedroom....stopped by the Greensboro Bassett store and found great customer care from Jamie. She was very helpful in selecting style of chair and the fabric to go on it.

My living room black coffee table was purchased in 2009 in Agoura Hills, CA. I was very disappointed when wiping down the wood, I found a sticker underneath that said 'Made in China". When using wood polish on the furniture it would smell real bad. When letting the store know how disappointed I was, they send me wood protection package. Same thing happened with luggage, American product made in China and had a very bad odor. Products must be made in America again.

We had the pleasure of dealing with Liz as our sales person at the Katy, Texas location. She was so helpful and efficient. Could not have been more pleased with her. We bought 2 motion recliners with upgraded Crypton fabric. After we received them, hubby complained his wasn't comfortable and his feet hung off. Purchased a matching ottoman one year later. Here we are 2 years later and the recliners no longer recline. One recliner looks like it is 15 years old. The 1 year old ottoman looks just as bad. Called customer service only to be told there is a one year warranty and ours has expired for all items. So here we are 2 years later and out over $5,600 for nothing. Maybe Bassett was a good company in the past but can not say the same for current stuff.
UPDATE: Bassett responded to our Google review of their local store and suggested contacting Customer Service. Contacted Customer Service as suggested. Bassett sent out a technician on 8/7/2024. He stated we needed new motors and switches on both chairs. Two weeks later, I reached back out to Bassett since I had not heard back only to be told it would be $225 to repair each chair plus $40 shipping. No warranty and they don't install the parts. Same answer really....only one year warranty. Was a total waste of time and effort. One thing Bassett has going for it, is that they hire very nice people.

I bought a sofa at Bassett in Montgomeryville Nov 2020. It quickly fell apart and the fabric frayed six months later. I went to the store and they said because I purchased a floor model that there is no warranty. I paid 3,000 bucks. My next sofa is a nattuzzi. I paid 4500 and it has held up. 2 years later it still looks new. Bassett is garbage.

I purchased a Bedford Glider Recliner on 12/7/2019. The original cost was listed at $3500. When the recliner was delivered it leaned to the left and would not stay in the fully reclined position. After repairs failed, a replacement was ordered. Unfortunately Covid came along so production was shut down. A new chair was delivered several months later. To my dismay, the new chair would not stay reclined. After three separate service calls and part replacement, the recliner will NOT stay totally reclined. After the last part replacement I was informed by Guardsman that they would not replace the part again. As of today, over four years later, same problem exist. The staff at at Buford, GA store was helpful but unfortunately I am disappointed to have spent so much money for a recliner that won’t stay reclined. Side note…we have a La-z-Boy that stays reclined and did not cost near as much as the Basset.

Had a very disappointing Reclining couch purchase. Couch was extremely uncomfortable. Both sides of the recliners tilted inward. After further inspection, the inspector said that the midsection had dropped. Their solution was to go in through the bottom springs and add more padding to the cushions. Seriously? We were barely past the three months guarantee so as far as we were concerned, that was not a fix. We should’ve been refunded our money Since it was probably a factory defect. I made a call to our local Bassett furniture to express my disappointment. I never heard back from them. I’ll never buy another Bassett piece of furniture

Our couches were delivered in February 2024 and within 14 days we had compressed cushions. WE could actually feel the frame of the couch after a short time sitting on the couches. (Neither of us is huge. Mrs is 120 lbs, I am 235.) The couch spring set slanted to one side as well. A Bassett tech claimed nothing was wrong with the springs. The first manager had us take pics of the cushions and eventually ordered another set. WE asked to upgrade from the standard to the premium (when ordering the upgrade was only $345), we were told that a replacement set upgraded would cost $360/cushion!!!
Fast forward to the new set of cushions-- they are crushing down again!!! New manager is kind of nasty and hard to deal with. Not willing to do anything and again Service wants $360 PER cushion for their best. We will NOT buy from Bassett again. Now looking to buy replacement cushions from a foam supplier (less than $100/cushion for the BEST quality made)!!!

We worked with Linda ** at Jenson Beach, Florida, to furnish our new home. Linda was personable, friendly, professional and extremely helpful. We spoke with Linda about what we would like our new home to feel like, a few weeks later we went back to meet her and she had all the samples for the different rooms laid out. She went through each one with us and made it fun and easy to decide what we wanted. We met with Linda again and the same happened for the remaining rooms. We are all ready to go once our house is finished being built. We would highly recommend Linda if you need a house full of furniture or just a few single items, you will not be disappointed. Very bad experience. Purchased a couch through Furniture Fair and got nothing but replacement cushions. The fabric continues to ball up, they tell me to shave it, us shave it. So I’ve been doing that and the fabric just get worse. I called just over a month after purchase and Bassett did not return a call, I emailed and got no response. I was told by the seller Bassett they do not warranty fabric. I explained I’ve bought a lot of furniture over the years and I’ve never had to shave it. Neither the manufacturer or the seller are willing to do anything. Please do not purchase Bassett Furniture and do not buy from Furniture Fair unless you like shaving fabric!

We stopped into the Annapolis Md store to try and match floor samples to our new bedroom furniture. The entire staff jumped in to help. By the time we left we had an entire plan for the room including flooring and paint colors. We even ordered an area rug to tie it all together. Thank you Mary, Angela, and Steve! You guys are awesome! We can’t wait to see our room when it’s finished.

I purchased a sofa, chair and rug in September of 2021 from the Palm Beach Gardens location. Patricia ** was the designer that sold me the furniture - a $10,000 sale. She was not very helpful helping me choose the fabric or furniture for that matter. At the time, my fault, I didn't look over my sales receipt. When I did, I noticed a $599.00 charge for Guardsman Elite Complete Protection. When I called to speak to Patricia, she was out of town. I spoke to the manager and told her that I wanted my money back since I wasn't asked if I wanted the furniture protection. She told me that computer wouldn't allow her to refund my money. How ridiculous of an excuse! I will have to wait 5 years, and will have to purchase something from their store for $599.00 in order to get my money back.

I purchase a Bassett bench motion reclining sofa in January 2023. It is horrible. The reclining seats tilt to the side and very uncomfortable. The back seats are over stuffed and push you forward. It was $5000!! DO NOT BUY IT. Worst buy ever!

Bill ** from the Tucson store was awesome. We ordered 2 custom leather recliners. Once delivered we noticed a manufacturing defect. After several attempts and months dealing with customer service to resolve the issue, Bill stepped in and had replacement recliners made for us. We truly feel he has the customer's best interest in mind.

Furniture is not high quality for the price paid. A chair less than 2 years old has a defect with the arm and Bassett is saying they won’t fix it. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money on anything from them.

I purchased a Bassett custom designed sofa 13 months ago. At 4 months, was disappointed by how fabric was holding up. Bassett sent me a de-pilling tool that was supposed to help. Now at 13 months, this sofa looks like it has been used 13 years. Product is way overpriced for what was delivered. Don't waste good money here. You can get a better product for what you will have to pay here.

My experience was fine. There was no problem buying the product. But in less than two years, my very expensive Bench Made solid maple live wood dining table has splits in the top surface of the wood. The dining table is rarely ever used, and I’ve only wiped it down with water and dried it with a cloth as directed. They only have a one year warranty and I did not take out the extended warranty because I figured what could happen to wood. Well, I regret that now and I regret buying from Bassett Furniture, because they are expensive and their solid wood furniture didn’t last me any longer than cheap furniture that I’ve purchased from Living Spaces.
